Our countertop Whirlpool microwave oven is just over two years old and one of the led lights in the clock display just went out. The push-button opening mechanism is very hard to work and quite loud when the door is shut. When the timer is set but the start button is not activated for a few minutes, the door warning goes on and you have to reset the timer. There are five beeps that indicate when cooking is done and they continue even when the door is opened. The only way to stop them is to push the stop button and there is no way to adjust the noise level or number of beeps.

Two years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine from Sears. All of a sudden, it was making sounds in the spin cycle that sounded like a jet airplane taking off. It was terribly loud. We called repair technician, which cost $90, only to find out that the bearing is gone and its going to cost over $500 to fix it. This is absolutely ridiculous! We expected it to last several years, only to find out that we would have to spend almost as much as the washer originally cost in order to fix it. We paid $700 for this machine, two years ago, and I can say that Ive never been more disappointed with a product in my life. My previous washer lasted thirteen years, not to mention my dryer and stove fifteen years, with minimal repairs. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. I have read some other complaints on this consumer affairs website, as well as other sites, regarding this same washer with the same problem on the bearing and cost to repair. If anything, I think Whirlpool should make good on this product and offer something regarding a recall or payment for repair in some form. As far as Im concerned, I will alert everyone I know about Whirlpool appliances and advise them not to purchase it. Now, I either have to pay over $500 to repair my washer or go buy another one. I do not even want this Whirlpool appliance in my house when I can get a washer for cheaper than the cost to repair it.

Whirlpool Washing Cabrio machine model WTW5500XW0 - I purchased this machine five years ago. After about a year I started having problems where the clothes were not coming out clean. I contacted Whirlpool and was referred for a repair. The repair man told me these newer machines need the Affresh product to clean out the machine so this doesnt happen. I bought the Affresh product and there is still a problem. Every load of wash has to be put back in for another rinse cycle, sometimes two rinse cycles. Its ironic because the cover of the booklet for the machine says low-water washer which was the selling point to buying this machine. Instead of using less water, Im using DOUBLE the water.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine a year and a half ago. It started making loud noises over time and finally stopped. Whirlpool did advise us that it was out of warranty but suggested they send a factory repairperson out. They told us depending on the problem they might pay the bill. It turned out that a nut holding the pulley had not been tightened up properly at the factory and had no restraining device, so it simply rattled off over time. Since we dont use the machine that much, the problem went past the 1-year warranty. It cost us two hundred and fourteen dollars for repairs. I could have put the nut back on myself for free. The service guy also said they had multiple similar problems and I should contact Whirlpool and they would probably work with me. No chance. They only kept repeating that it was out of warranty. I even talked with a supervisor who said the same thing. I asked to appeal further and she refused to give me anyone else I could contact. I asked for their legal department information, and she said she did not have that and I would have to get that through my attorney. What a joke. No more Whirlpool for me.

We purchased all our appliances from Flecks - there were to be rebates. Also never received them. We have had our oven for 2 years - when I set the oven on 350 it will go up to 400 degrees & the temperature on the front of the stove is 350 then it will drop down to as low as 250 & the temperature will still say its still 350. I called the company - did will do nothing. Will cost me as much to fix it as to get a new one. This a Whirlpool oven.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side Refrigerator on June 15, 2013. The freezer works fine but the refrigerator does not feel that cold and when I put a thermometer in there, it reads 42-43 deg although the refrigerator is set at 37 deg. The tech was just here and told me to put a thermometer in a glass of water and read it again. His thermometer read 46 deg when reading a bottle in the door although he explained that he had had the door opened for a while during his visit. He said his reading of the bottle upon opening the door was 36 deg. I do not believe that. I just measured some bottled water temperature and it was 48 deg. I have a hard time believing the temp went up 12 degrees and he has been gone for a half hour. My food is cold but not like you expect from a refrigerator. My bottled water and soda, etc., are not very cold. The worst is the water dispenser. That water is barely cooler than tap water. There is almost no difference. The water temperature has been in the 60s when Ive measured it. The tech says the first glass wont be cold (have never had that with any other refrigerator) but even if you get the second and third glasses of water, they arent any colder... maybe a couple of degrees. If anyone else is having this problem and Whirlpool will do nothing, then Im interested in legal action.

We bought a Whirlpool model WFW5620HW front-load washer at Lowes. The unit shook so violently during part of the spin cycle that the Whirlpool-authorized service company technician said not to use it while parts were ordered. It seems the balance ring was not functioning. Parts ordered were shocks and tub assembly. The technician suggested trying to get a whole new unit, as the repair is so intensive he had only done one or two in his career.Whirlpool customer service said they would not replace the unit, and an escalated request had the same response. I think this is terrible customer service - when there is such intensive failure in the unit, they should provide a brand new machine. The work has not yet been done - we are without use of a washer for an unknown period of time, since the order of a tub assembly is so uncommon that they do not have a time estimate. Needless to say, we will never buy Whirlpool again, and suggest you do the same.

After 50+ years of doing laundry, I had to purchase my 3rd washer. I bought the new top loader without an agitator. I very quickly learned that it has no lint filter. My first load was towels and mats. The lint clogged up my tub and drain pouring water all over the floor. Since then it has ruined many of my clothes which are mostly sweaters and sweater-knits. Without a lint filter, it deposits the lint right back on the clothes where it stays forever unless I shave or pick it off, even though Ive turned them inside-out. (Time consuming waste!) Even my socks have little balls of lint. It seems the only safe fabrics are new, smooth woven cottons, cotton-blends and slippery nylon providing there is no lace or brushed elastic.Now to the no fabric-softener dispenser... The Downy ball simply doesnt work, and theres no other way to add it. Waiting to use dryer sheets is too late; the damage is done. My clothes are dingy. In my 50+ years of ownership, I have never had to purchase a separate product to wash my washer so that it doesnt stink... and it does. Why does it lock after starting? If I could afford to replace it, I would... but I cant.

I bought a Whirlpool water heater in 2009. I paid $588.46 at Lowes. Turns out it is in a class action lawsuit for faulty thermocouple. I was given a coupon from Whirlpool for 2 new thermocouples as part of the class action lawsuit. The thermocouple goes out on it every 1-3 months. You never know when youre going to have a cold shower getting ready for work in the morning. I literally could have bought a new water heater for what Ive spent on thermocouples the last few years. The last two times it went out, I had to replace it twice within 1 day. Im sick of replacing it and have decided to install a new hot water heater. I am disgusted with Whirlpool and tried to contact them about it but have gotten no response. I will never buy another Whirlpool product and would not recommend them to anyone!

Cabrio washing machine - I have had the exact same problems as all of the above... lid locks occasionally ... after many frustrating tries. I am ready to pick up this stupid washing machine and pitch it in the junk pile! Soap on clothes so I have to redo ... except many times it takes forever to get the stupid machine to restart... Most times I end up rinsing things by hand in the sink. We are constantly itchy from soap residue. My clothes do not come out clean. Especially the towels. Clothes are not spun out as much as they should be... Have been doing it over again by hand many times... which is not good because They still have way too much water in them and it takes 2 -3 Times longer to dry them! I am so disappointed in this set. I always thought Whirlpool was a great brand but, sadly, I was terribly mistaken. Never again. Finally got someone to say they have to replace all the controls. They say they will send parts but I have to pay someone to change it out... sounds like they admit there is a problem but will not accept full responsibility for it. I did not make the item so why do I have to pay to have it fixed? I believe they should issue a recall and make all of us believers in them again. I guess its my fault for buying their product? So... doesnt clean, spin, rinse, lock and has a bad odor... not a great product, is it?

Whirlpool Cabrio - This washer and dryer have been garbage since the beginning. It does not clean soiled clothes and the dryer (gas) has always taken forever to dry a load. I have always had GE prior to this. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again. We even purchased the extended warranty and the repair guy was out yet again and said it is not repairable. Now we are without a washer for 5+ days and its going to be reviewed. Review? I want my money back. Theres a lemon law for cars, there should be one for these machines.

My refrigerator is now 5 years old. I have a stainless steel fridge. I didnt even have my fridge for 2 months and the one door started to rust. Whirlpool did fix that but now my fridge isnt staying cold. My extended warranty was just up 5 months ago. Figured some of the repairmen that we have called wont touch our fridge because they say the model that we have breaks a lot and that Whirlpool discontinued making this model. I am disgusted with this fridge.

I Wish I had reviewed this refrigerator sooner. I bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser in the door in 2016. Problem #1: Water leaks from the water dispenser and dribbles down the front of the door. I am as vigilant as I can be about wiping up the spills, but over time it has left a water stain. Stainless steel is not stainless! Problem #2: The freezer is too narrow. Too many frozen items that come packaged in boxes have to be wedged into it or stood on end. Problem #3: Ice cubes sometimes randomly drop out of the dispenser and melt on my hardwood floor. Problem #4: Even though the water is filtered, mineral deposits have built upon the well that collects the drips and I have yet to find any product that cleans it. It looks horrible and filthy. If Id had any idea how awful this appliance would look after just a couple of years, I would have been in contact with Whirlpool immediately.

This machine always leaves me questioning if its going to finish the cycle. It goes thru all kinds of spastic sounds in order to advance to the next step. I learned I cannot presoak a load more than 10 minutes before the machine empties ON ITS OWN! I just dont trust the machine and would not buy again.

For many years, I have worked on and tested water heater thermocouples. I have a lot of experience with this. I have checked around many of the wholesale supply houses to find a simple part needed for this brand/manufacturer appliance. Johnstone Supply, a national wholesale distributor, Grainger, etc. cannot get these parts. You must call Whirlpool and wait on the phone and give the operator the full story about what you found and how you tested the water heater only to be told you dont know what you are talking about. I was told that if the pilot lights and stays lit for even several minutes, that it is not the thermocouple but the gas valve and they will not sell me the part and recommend either I purchase a whole gas valve assembly and revised thermocouple or they would not sell me anything.Then I got told that I am on a waiting list to be called for availability of the parts at some time within the next 24 hours. Or just buy a new water heater from us with a warranty. Really? This is why you should not even have wasted your time with these people and move on to a better future. I asked,Can I purchase a box of thermocouples for this type of water heater with a left hand thread? The answer to this was, No, we will need the serial # for each unit that has had any part put on it. Move on, I say. This was a big waste of time by me, the plumber, and my customers happiness.

I bought a Whirlpool over the range microwave in 2015, after about 6 months in I noticed that the microwave door was starting to crack. I thought maybe I bought a cracked one. About a year in the microwave is cracked. Pieces of the microwave are starting to fall on the food I am cooking. The last straw was when my 4-year-old was gagging and then choking on a piece of the plastic that fell from my microwave.

I purchased a whirlpool duet washer & dryer several years ago. In the 3rd yr or so, the dryer kept shutting off with beeps prior to clothes dried or cycle completion. Whirlpool gave me an option for an extended warranty given that the orig one had long ended. I purchased it - a one year warranty. In that year I have had technicians to my house 6-7 times to diagnose or swap parts. They eventually swapped all 3 boards on the dryer. It still shuts down before clothes are dry. Whirlpool tells me that they outsource this service and take no responsibility for either their lemon of a machine nor their lemon service company; Alliance Repair. I would like the money back for the extended warranty so that I could buy a new dryer and all I get is a runaround from both the service company and whirlpool. I will never buy whirlpool again and advise anyone out there to also not buy their machines.

Not enough water to separate/agitate the clothes, so theyre as dirty coming out as going in. We bought an older washer that takes on more water and, presto....clean. We bought new Whirlpool for over $500.00 & sold it for $150.00.

Washes great. Love the literal bells and whistles. Never has failed to give the family a very clean wash. Price was great and got the matching dryer too. I have heard prices have gone up but this washer is worth every penny.

Lasted a whole two years, no warranty from Whirlpool. No biggie until I read countless complaints that Whirlpool OTR microwaves dont last. When I was young we had a Whirlpool microwave oven that lasted 15 years. Apparently this one (made in China) is the direction Whirlpool has chosen to take, cheaper products for higher profits.

My Whirlpool Dishwasher Model# DU980QPDP, just quit a few days ago after 21 1/2 years. We paid $554.04 for it back in 1995. It was the top of the line. Quiet, with 4 fold down shelves on the top rack. Silverware basket on the door. Also a separate knife basket on the door. It came with extra interchangeable door panels. When the white ones got dented we changed to the black ones. The racks are still in good condition. Never had one repair on this dishwasher, though I used it every day, sometimes twice a day. It had a 4 year warranty on the control panel and a 20 year warranty on the tub and door. We would have it repaired, but cant get the part.

I bought a new computerized Whirlpool Cabrio top-loading washer and matching dryer 3 years ago. Bearings wore out under warranty, it was repaired. Just outside warranty, washer has broken down twice more. I contacted Whirlpool and received a high level of indifference to my concerns that they manufacture junk, and are not willing to stand behind it. Clearly, this is a faulty issue with the machine and should be repaired then and now at their cost. Do not buy Whirlpool products people.

I have had this washer for a little over one year, it now does not work! I had a service tech out to look at it.. The motor gets too hot and the switchboard stops working. I have called Whirlpool twice and the options they have given me are not good! Basically it would be about half the price of a new washer! I should not be having these problems with a washer this new! I am very disappointed with Whirlpool and wont purchase this brand again!

After purchasing 3 whirlpool items in the last 4 years and 2 of them breaking down a dryer last year, and my water heater today. I no longer have faith in your products. I am disabled and was a whirlpool customer, but after my recent experience with your failing products, I will not be purchasing any more! Its great your willing to send the parts for the water heater but, it costs $65 to have them installed. I bought from you because you had a quality item and obviously that is no longer true. The first Front load Whirlpool washer leaked. 5 repair techs visits. Wasted days. Finally located the leak, in the main basket. Replaced washer. Second washer the clothes come out smelling like a horse blanket. Mold. Clean the washer every month still mold. Plan on junking the washer a getting a new model. Never expected this much trouble and time on a basic appliance.

We purchased a Whirlpool washer/dryer set 19 months ago and the washer just stopped working. Our trusted fix-it man came out and diagnosed it as a spin bearing problem assuring me it was not anything we had done. He stated it was a defected part or Whirlpool had never put grease in the bearings. A 450.00 part not counting diagnosis and labor. When I called Whirlpool, the first response I got was that they were sorry but we didnt buy the extended warranty, and of course the warranty it had was only a year. I asked to talked to a supervisor and finally she agreed to supply the part, but I was still responsible for the diagnostic and labor fee, which will be a couple of hundreds of dollars! Not happy with Whirlpool and will NEVER buy any product with their name again. Beware consumers!!!

I rent a condo unit and hardly use the microwave. It is nice to have. Never had one over the stove and it came with the unit, so I gave mine away. After living here for 3 years I am now moving to another city 5 hours away. I noticed the other day when I went to melt butter for popcorn, the door crack, which I noticed the second year we lived here, has gotten worse. Not just worse, but the handle looks like one pull and its completely broken. My landlord expects us to pay for this. I am reading and I see that its from the heat from the stove, which is also a Whirlpool product, is to blame, not the user. How is this right, how is this fair?? When we move we will have to buy a new microwave, that will sit once again on my beautiful microwave cabinet and I promise, it WILL NOT be a Whirlpool!!!

We purchased the gas slide in range with gas oven. Immediately the temperature would hold a consistent heat, therefore it continually reset with a start sound (swoosh) every 5 minutes. The manual says it will do this, but clearly this is not normal. Then, the oven stopped working, showing an error message FBE0, that the cooling fan is not at high enough speeds! It sounds as though, along with hundreds of other people, we have all been ripped off! If anyone can please tell me what can be done about these defective stoves, I would appreciate it, thanks very much!

My Whirlpool washing machine has not worked properly from the first day. Whirlpool washing machine customer care is pathetic. I bought a Whirlpool semi-automatic washing machine, Sparkle. This product is in warranty period. From the first day, this product did not give right result. Machine sound is very high and I called customer care center may times (around 9-10 times). They sent this machine three times in service center but the results remained the same. The problem arose when we put some load in it. He said the gear box should be changed and the machine should be cleansed off the dirt. He offered some powder costing Rs. 1500/- to be used in washing machine.Later, he asked Rs. 350/- for other parts after two months then I paid them again after 15 days for a piece that did not work. Then, they want to charge me Rs. 350/- again. When I showed the previous slip, they then changed that part without any cost. But after 15 days, again same problem occurred. They charged me 150/- Rs. but the problem is the same. Total money I spent is Rs. 1500/-+350/-+150/-. I also purchased a stand and cover for safety, but what will happen if product is not good? The technicians visited many times and they all said this piece is not okay but they cant do anything. The company should change this product. The machine is still rotting at my home. Im not sure if it could be accepted to be exchanged for a new one. Customer care gave us the satisfaction code but technician did not ask for this code. Im really very sad that I have called around 10 complaints within two years. Why are you people not listening? You all are doing time pass. You can check my complaint codes in your records and ask your technicians about Noida. Many times, I did not note the complaints number. Please open my file and check the issue. I told the technician many times that I want to talk to your seniors and want to tell them the problem because from the first day, it was the same, but they refused. I have also purchased a 320 LT fridge from you but that product is very nice. You should listen to our problems. This was not expected of such a branded company. I promised myself that I will never in my life purchase a Whirlpool product and advise the same to others.

Bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer in 2/2013. In 5/2014, the washer went out of balance, but corrected itself quickly. Since then, it sounds like a cement mixer during the spin cycle. It took one month to get someone to come out and look at it. Apparently the bearings went and the part alone costs $450! Add another $250-$300 for labor and I could buy another washer. We called Whirlpool, who were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation, i.e., replace the washer, send a replacement part, give us a discount on the replacement part. We didnt buy the extended warranty because who would think that a brand new washer would crap out after 15 months... and theres only the two of us.Not like Im washing clothes for a family of 5! I only needed a new washer/dryer because I moved out of state and didnt want to move the ones I had. Regretting that decision. Its unfortunate that there has been a decline in the manufacturing of goods to the point that they can be considered a throw away item. Will NOT be replacing this with another Whirlpool.

After owning the highly recommended Cabrio for only 2 years, I was told it would cost $300 for the motherboard!! I have always used Whirlpool but this machine is terrible. Water saving is not an option when washing clothes. Unless I use the bulky cycle, my clothes come out dry and smell dirty.

Our fridge was delivered the 24th of Jan. We called on the 19th of June because the fridge stopped working. The 24th Capital Refrigeration came out and said he ordered the parts, they would likely be there on the on Fri. the 28th. On the 5th the parts werent in yet. On the 5th of July I called Whirlpool to find out whats going on and the parts were on backorder. They would expedite the parts. The parts came in the 12th. Our Whirlpool refrigerator was delivered on the 24 of Jan. It quit working on the 19th of June so we called Lowes. They hooked us up with Whirlpool. They sent a tech the 24th. He (Mike with Capital Refrigeration) left saying he ordered the parts and they would likely be in on that Friday the 28th. I call Lowes on Mon. the 1st. They hooked me up with Whirlpool and they said the parts were being shipped that day and should be to Capital Refrigeration on Fri. the 5th. I called on the 5th and now the parts are on backorder (they didnt know they didnt have the parts). So the parts came in on the 12th. Capital Refrigeration came out, installed all new circuit boards. That didnt work, still no fridge (he suggest replacing the fridge but Whirlpool says no). So he orders new parts. He comes out on the 17th and installed new parts (coils and stuff). It worked for 3 days and quit again, I lost my food again. I call Lowes again. They hook me up with Whirlpool. They say theyre sending a different company. On the 19th A1 Quality Appliance calls, set up appointment for 23rd. The come out and say they are ordering the parts on the 25th. They say that Whirlpool said parts would arrive Mon. the 29th. On the 30th A1 Quality said the parts arent in but they have us scheduled for Wed. the 31st. NO PARTS. I called whirlpool and now I find out again they dont even have the parts again (they dont know they dont have the parts). They are on backorder and in a week call them to see if they have found the parts yet.So at the end of a week (the 7th of Aug.) Whirlpool said to call and see if they found this part yet (maybe not). It will have been 7 weeks without a fridge that broke when in use less than 5 months. They have told us the parts would be here 3 times and then find out all these parts have been on backorder every time. The 1st repairman Mike at Capital Refrigeration advised to replace the unit but they are still dragging this out. They did send us $150 for the inconvenience (not for all the food we lost). It would appear it will be 2 months before we have a refrigerator again if we are lucky. Whirlpool is a very poor company that has misled us several times and are still doing so. We purchased their refrigerator, double stacked oven, microwave and dishwasher and are very sorry. They say they record the calls if there is any doubt about my facts.

I have Whirlpool 25 in. Side by side. I love the space freezer size is bigger than the old one I had. Makes ice as it should. Overall solid appliance that I trust. I purchased this refrigerator a year ago after research.

Its not even a year since I have had this washer / dryer--and I already made two service calls regarding the dryer. The washer does not get the clothes clean. When washing even one blanket, it bumps, grinds and does not wash well. I have had to do two loads compared to one in my Amana set. It is terrible. You have to stay with it while washing or always load. It gets uneven with any small load. Everyone I know hates this washer.

I bought a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator four years ago, June 2012. Today, 9/20/16, I found out that the ice maker has to be replaced to the tune of $350! The repair person told me that Whirlpool has the worst track record, and of his service calls, he has at least three to five Whirlpool refrigerators per week! This is a terrible lack of quality. When youre spending over $2,000 for a refrigerator, you expect it to work for more than four years. Not only that, but I have e-mailed Whirlpool Customer Service twice and have been ignored completely. This is my last Whirlpool product, and I urge you to stay away from them. Samsung has a much better track record.

I have owned a Whirlpool Cabrio HE WTW6400SW3 for two years and have had nothing but issues from the start. Control panel was replaced twice under warranty. Also the clothes (socks underwear) were under the tub blocking the drain. This is not covered under the warranty. I was told by the repairman that this is the usual issue. He told me they took the front loader design and just stood it up with no protection from garments and coins getting under the tub, through the under tub filter often and into the drain pump. You are kidding me? Almost $1000 for this washer and its so ill designed. I have read forums that this has been an ongoing issue for several years yet Whirlpool continues to build these. I dont vent to forums often but just now I finished removing the tub to remove 2 socks and 7 cents. Also, I had to remove the drain pump and found another 16 cents inside it. So far the pump has not been ruined but this time water is coming out from the machine so will probably be ordering another pump for it as well. The wife wants it out of the house tomorrow and not another cent spent on it. But it is only two years old. What do you do? If you are reading this because you are searching for a new washer do not purchase a Whirlpool! I have gotten nothing but grief and was put off by their customer service dept as well. I guess after fielding so many calls about the same thing they have been told to just put all the calls off as no big deal. I am sure Whirlpool is making a killing off the sales on this unit. The claims made during the sale convinced me. What a joke. Look around the internet and you will find hundreds if not thousands of the same issues.

Phone calls took too long (30-45 mins each). Connection was bad. WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES ARE **. Whirlpool appliance was poor quality, broke down and not fixable. Unable to find replacement dryer ANYWHERE that will match my existing washer stacking kit. The loyalty program discount is a joke.

I used my self cleaning oven feature and the fuse blew, leaving my oven with no electric current. I had to replace the fuse at a cost of almost $300 two months after the one year warranty of the oven expired. The technician suggested I no longer use the self cleaning feature since it will continue to melt the fuse wire. The oven becomes too hot, so I have an oven that I paid for with a feature I cannot use. I would not recommend this product.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer - The washer does not stay balanced even with a very small load (even though advertised can wash King size comforter). Even with a light load, we have to put the dryer on Heavy Duty or Bulky...and usually have to dry a second time. When attempted to contact Whirlpool, no help available. WORST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED... Would not even want to GIVE this set to a friend or family member. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.

Good News!! Finally a permanent fix & possible recall. My Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer was 18 months old and Out of Warranty. It leaked water on my floor like all the rest. I called and was told I had to pay the service charge. Speak with a SUPERVISOR!!! They sent a repairman who said a Kit had just come out to fix this. I had to defrost the unit for a day and he returned with the kit. Part number is W10309238. The repairman believes they will be doing a recall and fix these drains. Insist on speaking with a Supervisor!!! Get results, they will do it as it is a design flaw. The repair took about twenty minutes. Here in Ottawa, Ontario call Youngs Appliance for more info.

I purchased the Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer and Dryer in the spring of 2010. Washer bearings just broke. I was told that the bearings in these machines are not strong enough to support the spin cycles. It is very disappointing to think that a company like Whirlpool would have their customers pay $1000 for a machine they know is not going to last. I agree with Julie. Maybe a class action lawsuit needs to be filed. Is there a lemon law for washing machines?

Whirlpool 50 gallon water heater - I bought a high efficiency tank water heater less than 1 year ago from Lowe’s. It stopped working after 10 months. Lowe’s indicated that it was a manufacturer issue so I called Whirlpool. After talking to the service rep, they said they would send a part, which I would need to install or call a plumber. The part didnt show, so I called again. This time I was told that they needed to confirm the problem with a local service tech. We are now at 5 days without hot water, and it looks like it is going to be another 3. Dont buy Whirlpool. Lowe’s has tried to help but cant get anything done either.

I bought the #1 rated Consumer Reports recommended Whirlpool Gold fridge 15 months ago (how convenient their warranty stops at 12 months). The control board has already gone out, lots of ruined food and ruined perception that Whirlpool made good products. I will avoid buying anything they make again. When repairman was taking it apart, I saw Made in China stickers.

I was so excited for this stove top and oven - Whirlpool Gold AccuBake (especially at the price we paid for it!). Weve owned it for 13 years now, and in that 13 years, we have had to have the computer replaced 6 times now. The latest replacement being last week (Friday). The oven is still making clicking noises like the igniter wants to start and it is frustrating and annoying. It will do this for a 3-hour stretch numerous times throughout the day and night. Had a repairman here last week and he replaced the computer AGAIN! But the igniter clicking noise continues.

In the first year of my Whirlpool Washing Machine, the motor quit working entirely. Fortunately, the machine was under a 1-year warranty and the motor was replaced by a Whirlpool service technician. My big complaint with this washing machine is this: Even though you select hot water for the wash cycle, the machine has sensors in it that only allow the water to get lukewarm. If it senses the water getting too hot, it adds cold water to bring the wash temperature back down to 78 degrees F. Next time I will do my research and buy a machine that actually allows one to use hot water.

I had a 14-year-old 40-gallon tank that was working great but I decided it was time to get it replaced. I picked out a Whirlpool 400-gallon tank stated to be good for a family of 3 to 4 people. Immediately after installation, I got complaints from family members that there was no enough hot water for morning showers. I turned up the thermostat to the maximum 140 degrees, but there was still wasnt enough hot water. The Whirlpool rep on the phone stated that 3 people cant take back-to-back showers. The unit wasnt designed for this. I told him the unit is advertised for a family of 3 to 4 and I have only 3. I asked where on the advertisement does it state 3 people cant take back-to-back showers? His response was, Where does it state you can? I asked his name and he would not give it to me. If 3 people cant take showers on a unit stated to be for a family of 3 to 4, something is wrong. Maybe it should be advertised as suitable for a family of 1. I will not buy a Whirlpool product again and I advise others to take my advice, go elsewhere.

My parents bought a Whirlpool washer machine and the machine was fine for the first two years, then water started leaking from the bottom of the machine and no one has yet to fix the problem! They have the worst customer service department. The A&E worker who came to my parents house smelled, wasted a bunch of time working on the machine and didnt fix anything! The A&E worker visited my parents house over 10 times and the problem still wasnt fixed! They (worker) have ordered parts after parts and still water keeps running from the bottom of the machine! Someone, please help and cut Whirlpool from the stores! Ive spent almost a whole on the phone trying to help out my elderly parents! Its ** and a lot of headache! Never use Whirlpool; theyre all crap!

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer - I have had all of the problems that all of the other 900 people have complained about! The washer does not wash anything properly. I have even experienced having something such as a bit of cereal stuck to a dishcloth and it was still on there after a full wash cycle. All of my whites are now grey and stained. All of the sheets end up with a huge dirty ring the size of the tub in the middle of them. Everything comes out in a tangled mess of knots! Very frustrating! Everything comes out smelly as if its been sitting in the washer for days. Nothing smells fresh and clean like it should. Energy wise, we are using two and three times the amount of energy as I am washing and drying things for two or three times over, which brings me to the dryer. I put one single load in and it takes two or three cycles to dry it properly. This is unacceptable and I cannot believe that we cannot get some satisfaction from someone in this regard! We bought our set from Sears and I feel that they obviously know of this problem and still continue to sell Whirlpool products! Weve all been taken for a ride and Whirlpool should be held accountable for ripping people off this way. Someone please help!

We purchased our 4 French door refrigerator on 1/22/15. It started making a loud noise, like an air compressor. It continue to get louder and louder over a period of a couple of days. Called the dealer where it was purchased and a repairman was not available for another week. When the repairman showed up and diagnosed the problem which was a leak in the freezer causing ice and the fan to hit the ice, they were not equipped to fix that type of problem. We were advised to call Whirlpool consumer dept. which we did, and was advised they would send out another repairman and would be another week. Have had to move food and freezer items out of refrigerator. Two and one half weeks and no solution. Five month old refrigerator that is not usable. Very disappointed in product and service.

I have had this unit less than a year and started having pilot problems. I would just relight and ask family members to take shorter showers or not run the washing machine or dishwasher at the same time. I would have to relight the pilot 3-4 times a year and would just tolerate. Now the water heater fails on a daily basis. In the last four weeks, my wife would say NO HOT WATER AGAIN. I am so tired of dealing with this, so last night, I called Whirlpool and associate was polite but gave me a lot of things that I should do (43 yrs a pipefitter). Before all was said and done, he is shipping me a new gas valve (at my expense) that I will gladly install to get rid of this problem. Will not EVER buy a hot water heater from Whirpool or Lowes ever again. Whirpool should stick to washing machines!

Our 3 1/2 year old dishwasher is falling apart. First the left slider broke on the top rack. We ordered a replacement part ($74) and when ready to install, discovered the right rack was also falling apart. At that same moment, the rollers fell off the bottom rack! It seems the plastic parts cannot tolerate the heat in this dishwasher (just a guess). We’ve returned the new replacement part and are shopping for a new dishwasher. It will not be anything from the Whirlpool line!

Extremely quiet machine. I love that the silverware wrack is situated across the front of the door giving plenty of space for lots of silverware. This leaves even more room in the already large washing area for pots, pans, dishes, bowl, glassware & more.

We bought this on sale but we're really glad we did. I was surprised how quiet it was while cleaning the dishes, insulation I guess makes it quiet. The wife also uses Cascade liquid dishwashing soap which seems to get the dishes really clean. Rinsing before we stick them in probably doesn't hurt, but overall, we are very pleased. The dishwasher has an adjustable rack which we've only used a few times and the start is easy enough for me to even figure out, sorry guys, but yes I do the dishes sometimes. Hope this helps. I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio, Model no. WTW5640XW2, on March 3, 2012. I have tried every setting and water temperature and am totally dissatisfied with the washer. It does not clean clothes, tangles them into a twisted mess which requires that they be vigorously shaken out, destroys anything with a draw string. I had an online chat with a representative and was told she was sorry. I posted to Facebook and did receive a call from a repairman, which I will return; however, I do not anticipate receiving any satisfaction. The machine is worthless for washing clothes. I was better off with my 12-year old agitator Whirlpool washer. I do not understand how this machine can be allowed to stay on the market. Id be better off at the river beating my clothes against rocks. I hope someone will get on Whirlpool to give consumer refunds. I have been brought to tears by this machine and I am one tough cookie. Please help!

We purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater approximately 4-5 years ago and have had problems with the pilot staying lit. I contacted Whirlpool and their trouble shooting included doing a draft test (I am a teacher not a plumber) and removing the closet door that houses the unit. I am very frustrated by this entire ordeal and would like if they would replace the entire unit. At this point I dont want another Whirlpool product. The plumber made a service call at 12 noon and by 3:30 we had luke warm water and by 6:00 pm the water was ice cold! I will never recommend any Whirlpool products.

I purchase a WP Fridge only unit model WRF578 18D MOO in July 2016. I woke up 3 months later and my fridge was filled with rotten food, the internal temp was 16 C 60.8 F. I phoned Sears and they had me phone WP. They tried to repairman but he phoned and told me that he could not service my fridge as he was a 3 1/2 hr and one Ferry ride away from me - He was in Whistler and I live on the Sunshine Coast. I phoned WP again and they sent someone who actually lives here. He found and repaired a small freon leak. Four months later it happened again, the fridge was also making loud noises when the compressor started and stopped. I phoned WP again. They sent the same repairman, he ordered and installed a new compressor and topped up the freon. Sadly less than 3 months later it happened again. This time I was very firm with WP that I was unhappy, they extended my warranty for a further 6 months. The same repairman again came and topped up the freon. That brings us to this week. On Wednesday June 14 I woke up again for the fourth time to a fridge full of rotting food. The fridge was actually warmer than my Greenhouse that day! I phoned WP. They were unwilling to help so I asked for a supervisor. She offered to pay 1/2 of the service call as my warranty had expired Jan 26/17. I said that was unacceptable and asked to speak to her Supervisor. She stated that she was as high as I could speak to, so I asked for an e-mail address for her supervisor. She instead tried to tell that I had no warranty and that they had already fixed my fridge 3 times and given me an extra 6 months on my warranty and offered for me to BUY an extended warranty! I replied that if my fridge were fixed I would not need a service call and that in fact my fridge had never really been fixed. She transferred me to another person. He offered to pay for the service call. I accepted. He asked if I were happy, I said that I would wait and see after the service call on Monday. I Asked if it were the same Man, he said that violated his Privacy. I said I will see him Monday! Will he be wearing a disguise?! Kohuch (the Service guy is coming over this afternoon -Friday) my Husband left work early to be here.

I purchased Whirlpool refrigerator WRF992FIFM00. On December 2016. It was cost $3400 but it stopped working after 6 months. I called Whirlpool for service. Technician came. Diagnosed it and he said he needs two parts but parts are not available. So he asked me call Whirlpool for help. I did call Whirlpool three times and the problem cant be solve. Whirlpool told me have to wait at least 10 days so they locate the parts so they can send out to Whirlpool contractor for repair. They dont have another solution rather than I have to wait until parts have available. I have to thrown all my food and I live without refrigerator. So what the point I need purchase extension warranty if they dont have parts to repair. I would not recommend anyone to purchase appliance from Whirlpool.

I have had this product now for 1.5 years and am very dissatisfied with it. Whirlpool calls their oven an Aqua Lift Self Clean, which is terribly misleading. There is nothing self-cleaning about it, except that the person who needs to clean it is me (myself)! I cannot use oven cleaners on it, because that will void my warranty, so the only way to clean it is to scrub, scrub, scrub, down on my hands and knees, which I havent had to do for many a year. My second issue is with the glass stovetop. I have had many glass tops before and have never, never had such trouble cleaning it. Every time I use the stovetop I need to scrub and polish vehemently to clean it. And thirdly, the dials fail very quickly, and to replace them costs me $50.00 a pop! In just 1.5 years two dials have failed. This is just unacceptable, and I say shame on Whirlpool, and shame on the company that sold it to me. I will never, ever purchase another Whirlpool appliance again.

This is about my Whirlpool washing machine that has abruptly stopped working. My Whirlpool washing machine was bought in 2013 and was running [absolutely] great until Tuesday October 3, 2017. I do not have the money to get this machine fixed. I am already a struggling mom, working hard to pay bills and I am already falling behind on most of them. I just had death in my family and now the machine dies - well there seems to be no end to all of this. I would really appreciate Whirlpools help in getting my machine up and running again. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer over the span of more than two decades. I am a Whirlpool fan. My past machines have lasted 12 plus years on upwards to 15 years each.Let me share exactly what my washing machine is doing: I went to wash clothes as usual the other day; the machine filled up and stopped abruptly - that was it! It did not spin but instead emptied the water without washing the clothes and made some loud chitty chitty bang bang noises before it was all over. I unplugged it after wasting a lot more water thinking that it might just suddenly start working. It did not start working again, it just continued its non-working status.My family has bought Whirlpool washing machines and dryers for years from Sears; we were totally satisfied with the products we purchased, however, this washing machine did not make the five year mark. I really do not know what is going on with the machine; what I do know is this - it stopped working and I would like to get it working again. We got a DEAL for this nightmare for nearly $700 back in 2014. Nothing but problems. Constantly finding plastic pieces at the bottom... some identifiable; others not. They are from the cheap parts within. The control board lights (all but 1 works) went just after the 1 yr mark. We are now having to replace the top Rack Adjuster (MORE CHEAP PLASTIC), as it has been barely hanging on for the last year and a half... constantly fighting it, as it would drop all the dishes if you moved it wrong.Now, the water is not draining at all... period. We clean this religiously - always rinse dishes completely, use rinse aid, never stuff dishes. Today we find a random plastic piece, which we are now trying to identify. NOTE: we dont put plastics in the dishwasher. So, today a new plastic piece and major drain problems. We are in the market and purchasing a new French Door Refrigerator and Front Load Washer. Will NOT be going with anything Whirlpool. Not much better these days, but this name has a big RED NO for us. Made it even worse when we contacted for help after that 1 yr mark. NO HELP AT ALL.

I like the looks with brushed stainless steel and black. The most difficulty was getting someone to help get it and load it. But other than that, Ive had no problems with the dishwasher.

I have the Whirlpool washing machine for last 15 years and there has not been any complaint since its acquisition. I do a lot of laundry because I have a big family, but not major issue so far. I will recommend this brand to anyone willing to buy a washing machine.

I bought at Lowes. The first one was sent back (doors stuck, suction cracked lining). Now the temps are not working in the fridge or freezer. All the food got dumped. Its sad. My old one lasted closer to 25 yrs. (and may I add up to ten children). This one has only been used by adults. I thought I could trust Whirlpool?! I sent info to local Lowes. We will see if theres any help.

We bought a Whirlpool washing machine two years ago and bought the extended warranty. The machine quit working so we called the warranty service number. We have had a repair man sent here 5 times from them. The technicians have put two new control boards and a new door lock on it. They have another part ordered for this week.The machine is still not working after five visits from service technicians and they say they cant fix it. The extended warranty service plan says if it cant be fixed they will replace it or send us a check for it. We have contacted them several times and they dont want to make good on it. So we have a broke down washing machine and have to go to a Laundromat every week.

Whirl Pool Duet Wash WFW9400SW - I had this washer for 5-1/2 years. I use it about 3 times a month. Warranty ran out this last February. Machine stopped working. Called tech and he came and said I need a new console and power board. Two weeks later I get told they dont make it anymore and sorry about your luck. I used this washer under 200 times in 5 and half years. Whirlpool offered nothing and I will never buy a Whirlpool product again.

Was very excited to have purchased Whirlpool stove with convection oven. The paperwork from Home Depot showed SELF CLEANING. Due to not feeling well from cancer I didnt realize it was AQUALIFT! A few years passed but I never used oven. Pandemic changed that. When I tried Aqualift. Did it 3 times in a row but nothing was clean. Called Whirlpool & they offered to send me a paste I could rub in & rinse off. THATS NOT SELF CLEANING. ITS MYSELF CLEANING plus cancer in abdomen so difficult for me to do. Class action suit is being filed again but not sure if it will be for 1 state. Many complaints on Whirlpool & other companies using aqualift.

Im no longer buying Whirlpool products. They do not all up and are made like crap. My Cabrio washer being the most recent problem. Hinges broke on the lid and the drum spring broke. Out the door it goes! Im having my American made Speed Queen delivered tomorrow, the last Speed Queen I owned last over 30 years.

Whirpool Product VMW TL WASHER with impeller absolutely is crap. I have it almost a year and it smells, and it noisy like a dog was in the machine and someone started it. Its off balance constantly. I hate it and will place on every blog the worst review I can write. Its a nightmare. It has a fake bleach dispenser a door but no holder underneath. Even the repairman thought the bleach went in the dispenser. My clothes were ruined along with sheets, etc on numerous washes. The bleach partially dispensed on dark clothes at least 8 washes.The washer was purchased at BrandsMart 11 months ago and so theres no returns.

I bought my 50 gallon gas water heater in December 2015. When kicks on it rumbling. I called warranty and they said We will send tech out but I will have pay the labor. Why do I want pay for a tech if the quality issue is the water heater. Need pay $180 for person come out say its defective. No sense to me. Then when they tell me need new water heater pay them for install. You can check my accounts I used to shop Lowes and will no longer do it because of this service.

We purchased a mid-grade Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher a little over 2 years ago. 14 months in, the motor failed, requiring a $295.00 repair/replacement. That was nine months ago, and now the motor has failed again. That is outrageous! No more expensive repairs on this piece of junk. Its going to the scrap heap. We just ordered a Frigidaire. While I have no experience with that brand, it cant possibly be as bad as Whirlpool.

I purchased my Whirlpool refrigerator 8 months ago model # WRF560SEXM which is less than a year old and already Im experiencing problems already. I have owned several refrigerators in the past which were older models and less sophisticated, and all of them lasted well over 10 years with no major issues, so to buy a new refrigerator through Whirlpool and have it malfunction in less than a year is unacceptable. Customers deserves better than this especially at these prices.My malfunction occurred when my ice maker stopped working and the internal temperature stopped working altogether, which caused all my food to spoil which had to replaced which was very expensive which infuriated me more and because my service appointment was a week away. I LITERALLY had to order out for food and purchase ice. And if this happens again I will have replace food and order food out again. WHIRLPOOL dont realize the impact this has on its customers. I would definitely not recommend their refrigerators EVER!!!

We purchased this combo from Lowes; checked my account and saw we were double charged! Got the charge adjusted; jeez. Bought this size to do comforters and large loads, but nothing large gets completely wet. Our clothes started to mildew as Affresh does not work. Im allergic to mildew and got headaches. The mechanic said this mildew is because all the action is under the basin and you dont want to see how black it is under there. It began to leak as buildup went into the bleach dispenser, and it turned black.He said to run a gallon of white vinegar in the clean cycle once a month, and this did work. I did a clean out with Castile peppermint soap, several white vinegar treatments, and got rid of the mildew and the (clog related) leak. I now use Mollys Suds powder. I was shocked to read on the Mollys site that mfg does not have to list all the terrible ingredients in commercial detergent, which is not helping you or the machine.

I purchased a brand new washing machine and had service come to repair the machine approximately five times within the first year. Every time the machine was repaired, it was for different reasons. I contacted the main office and spoke to a woman named Sherry who is a supervisor and she was very nasty. This is a brand new machine and I feel that it should be replaced with a new one. Sherry said that there was nothing she can do for me. Is there a lemon law for appliances? The machine is used for my son and me only. I have all appliances in my house by General Electric and this is my first and last experience with Whirlpool.

This is new and replaced an old model that was not doing the job. This new one seems to be ever so much better. The dishes are clean and I no longer have a white residue on the dishes and utensils. It is easy to load. I miss having a silverware separator for the holder because the silverware tends to be too close to each other. I always rinse things well before putting them into the machine because I usually run the machine about once a week. Overall, this is a good machine for the price I paid. I am loyal to Whirlpool and this one on sale was a very good value. Very pleased.

Bought this Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine 4 years ago not knowing it was a low level water washing machine. A man would have had to design this piece of crap. Not only does it not clean the clothes because the agitation on it is as slow as sloth. On top of that the clothes tie themselves in a knot when finished. If you don’t want the frustration of clothes washing, I would highly recommend you not buy this type, if you enjoy cussing then this machine is for you.

Bearing on washer drum began getting louder at two years. Service man stated that Tide and a few other detergents were destroying the washer bearing seal. He told us that neither Tide nor Whirlpool will admit the problem exists. The cost of repairing the washer is close to the purchase price. Whirlpool should be subject to a class action lawsuit!

Whirlpool has a terrible customer service! I have an almost new washer broken and I had it repaired. The company is having the same issues in another model and yet, they would not offer to even refund the repair.

Worst appliance we have ever bought. Our last fridge (also stainless french door) we had for about 14 or 15 years and only the door bins cracked that we put gallon milk jugs in (dont do it - they are too heavy and get warm from the door opening). This fridge is a piece of junk. We were told it was stainless - rust spots started appearing the first year. The deli drawer lid broke within a month or two, but I didnt care about that so I just threw it away. The ice machine stopped working a little after the first year. Today however is what got me to write a review - I spent a couple of hours trying to duct tape and make wood supports to hold up the frame for the produce drawers - one of which is totally cracked when it fell from having the support break. While doing this I noticed there are hairline cracks on the front of all 4 of the shelves! Also, this one has a wire basket in the bottom instead of a full drawer - probably more supportive, but it means stuff constantly falls into the bottom of the fridge and it is extremely hard to get in there to clean.

My Whirlpool washer is lasted 15 yrs and is very good at cleaning clothes, it is also easy join my water bill. I purchased mine at Home Depot. They also finance. I hope you enjoy your purchase. I know I do.

I called Whirlpool about the refrigerator that I purchased in June of this year and nothing was done about it. My situation is that the refrigerator scratches very easily. It seems that it gets scratch only by looking at it. This refrigerator is very expensive and I not even done paying for it and this appliance looks awful!! Susan the person that I was chatting with just told me that cosmetic doesnt cover and there is nothing that Whirlpool can do about. It bothers me that paying so much money for something that it is poor quality material.

When you shell out the money for a new water heater you expect it to work the first time. Mine did not. Luke warm water was all that we could achieve. After going through the troubleshooting steps we could not clearly define the problem. So they ordered me the parts and sent them to me. The parts were for the old model control unit and does not mate up with the wiring that is in the unit. The representative was put back in that they had no idea how that happened. And, no wrench came with the thermostat just another thing to spend money on. I told them I have had it. Then they say that this is a manufacturers defect and they can provide me with a list of repair technicians in the area. I gave them one star because I could not give them zero. They should have lead off with the service technician. Still not repaired. I will keep you updated.

My Cabrio was built in April 2016, its now Feb 2019, and its not working. Shows error code of LF, the inlet water value is bad. I bought a Sears protection plan, repairman comes out, tells me no-one has the part anywhere, its backordered and no way to know when it will deliver. Sounds like a scam so Sears doesnt have to fix it and Whirlpool makes little to none of the part so you have to buy a new machine. This machine also takes forever to wash clothes, sometimes part of the clothes come out dry because not enough water. Its a huge tub, but of no use because theres not enough water to clean properly therefore, you have to do small loads. I always put it on high water because the other features like, quick wash & normal do not give but only little streams of water! The first one I had delivered made a funny noise from day one so Sears replaced it the next day. This one has NOT even lasted 3 yrs. There needs to be new legislation placed upon these companies with regards to the products they make. It should be illegal to make such junk and be able to charge high dollar for it and it doesnt operate well or last very long. They are laughing all the way to the bank on everyones dollar, intentionally making products that last less than a few years! I Will NOT purchase Whirlpool or any of their products again! They owe me a new Cabrio and Im going to make sure I get it and get my moneys worth! DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS JUNKER! DONT BE FOOLED BY ITS PRETTY SLEEK LOOK.

Love the chrome exterior and overall appearance of this side-by-side. The compartments and shelf spacing are well thought out & offer flexible adjustments. The outside components on the freezer (crushed ice, ice water, ice cubes, & light) I love, and most importantly the unit comes with a built-in replacement water filter.

Clothes come out of washer are soaking wet. Despite multiple repairs within the warranty period (1 year), the problem was not fixed. Each time a separate part was replaced. I would consider this as a manufacturer defective product. Despite multiple complaints to Whirlpool customer service, they would not replace the unit. Problem continues and now the warranty period is over and I am paying for fixing the same problem. I would not buy a WP washer again.

March 1, 2016 I purchased a new Whirlpool dishwasher model WDF320PADW2. After just over 1 year of use, the unit quit. The pump only runs in the empty direction. It quit in the wash direction. Hums and smokes. This is not acceptable for a appliance to last just one month past warranty then totally quit.

We purchased the model WFC7500VW, 24” washer and accompanying dryer in June of 2015. Within a couple of months, the water pump went; also we continually had to take the front panel off and clean out the filter when we get an A11 code! Now we experienced an F06 code... This code means the washer can’t go into high speed. The repairman (Whirlpool recommended), told us that a new tachometer motor, etc would run $500-$800 with labor! He also said that the noise the drum made was bad. My dryer works fine (only complaint is the grinding noise it makes, which Whirlpool told me is normal)... I would like to purchase a new washer, but don’t know what will fit under the dryer. I do not want ANY Whirlpool product!

The self cleaning work very well. All you need is clean the filter every time you use the dryer. I had the large capacity. I can wash my blankets and heavy clothes like commercial machine and the machine is programmable for your wash load.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Dishwasher less than 2 years old and pump & motor assembly went out. You would think and hope that an appliance would last longer than that... Contacted Whirlpool and they were not helpful at all. Will not be buying anything made by Whirlpool again...

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator (model number model ised5lvaxwq00) about 14 months ago. The icemaker would not work when delivered. I had it fixed. Several months later, it quit working. It cost $200.00 to have it repaired. The ice door stopped working. I called Alabama Power to repair the icemaker. He advised that it would cost around $300.00 to repair. We are on a fixed income and cannot afford to have it repaired. On investigation, I found hundreds of complaints about the same issue with the icemaker flap. I would appreciate you trying to eliminate this problem.

I am so bummed that this fridge died. It was perfect in size and function and appearance. I didnt use the ice maker. Within the first year, the temps were erratic, freezing in the fridge area at the rec. setting and too warm when I lowered it. Finally the compressor gave in at 19 months. Of course, out of warranty. HOWEVER, my credit card, VISA, added a year of warranty and is paying the full amt for replacement. Now I have no idea what to get. Every brand, American or Japanese is not made to last. I regret getting rid of my old dependable avocado fridge, thats how hard it is to feel confident to make a good next purchase. Formerly reliable names are only that, OLD NAMES WITH SHINY LOOKS AND JUNK INSIDE.

I ordered this Whirlpool 29 cu.ft. white french door refrigerator online from Goedeckers on April 26, 2013. Delivered May 15, 2013. Ever since we got it, there was a frost buildup in left back of ref. Also ice would fall out of dispenser all by itself. Also a buildup of ice under ice bin. Water would also drip from dispenser. We thought maybe since it was new these problems would go away. But they just got worse. I called Whirlpool & they sent out tech on 8/12/13. He told me Whirlpool has a problem with these refrigerators & would order parts. Well after 3 times of cancelling repairman due to parts on backorder, I told repair I would call when parts come in. I keep calling Whirlpool & keep hearing parts are on backorder, saying parts will be in in 7 days. I call back in 7 days and hear the same lies. Its a shame that they cant get parts in knowing that there is a major problem. It sounds like a real quality control problem. I really pride myself on buying American made but Whirlpool is not helping my case for buying American made. It would be nice if they offered to replace it being they cant seem to find parts.

I stumbled across this site while browsing the Net, looking for a way to deal with the same situation I now know you all have been struggling with: Whirlpool Washing Machine! I wonder: Is NASA still accepting volunteers for their living on Mars experiment? Id rather beat my clothes on a rock than touch that POS Whirlpool that has me back on tranquilizers! Mine was purchased about 2 years ago when I was in bad health and my son was handling my affairs. I could tell - just by listening - there was something very wrong with it, from the first load my son attempted to wash. It would start and stop, restart, restop, ad infinitum and made a terrible racket. I told him nobody would intentionally make a machine like that--something had to be wrong with it but he assured me that he had checked both with the store that sold it and he also read the manual. He had a hard time accepting but we thought maybe this was because it was new and would settle down after some use; after all, the store (Best Buy) assured him the sound was normal for this particular machine. However, the weird sounds did NOT lessen nor stop, nor did the starts and stops. Little did we know, this was just the tip of the iceberg! We have encountered/suffered through every nasty performance detailed here: low water, wont spin, leaves clothes soaking wet, wont spin out excess water, lid locks (grrrrrr), it cant seem to switch from one procedure to the next; there is nothing washing the dirt out of the clothes--they just sit in the water and soak(?), then the water is released. Clothes come out with stains still on, so wet that the water must be wrung out of them! Very hard for me with arthritis all through my body! Ive tried countless times to reset machine to Drain & Spin. Ive even waited (yawn) for it to unlock so I can open and then readjust the heavy/wet laundry, trying to make it even all the way around so to avoid an unbalance. But nothing helps. It will start to spin. And then it stops. (wait, wait) Starts to spin again. Stops. (wait, wait) Starts again, does it a bit longer. (start to relax) Stops. Ive spent HOURS engaged in that kind of mindless, maddening frustration, just trying to wash one small-medium load. (I wash only for one person--myself, now.) My son, who got married and no longer lives with me, said the only way he could manage to struggle through it - and agrees it DOES take an inordinate amount of time--for just ONE load, he has to put the settings so that it washes in Deep Water even if small load. He sets Rinse, to 2 Rinses. He sets it to Soak even if the soil is light. Even then, it still makes noises, starts and stops, has to be adjusted several times during Drain & Spin. Last but not least, the noxious odor: OMG! I left one batch of laundry in the machine, with the lid open, as it was very late so figured Id dry them next morning. Some hours later when I went back to shake them out and put in clothes dryer, they smelled so awful, I had to wash them all over again! In fact, Ive had to follow my sons admonition to leave the lid up AT ALL TIMES unless actually washing in order to keep down the stink. I washed my last load with Baking Soda added to wash cycle in an attempt to lessen the odor and get laundry cleaner. Someone here wrote - in their review - that there should be a Class Action (Law) Suit filed against Whirlpool. I AGREE!!! And I want to opt IN on it. There are several law firms that advertise on t.v. that specialize in Class Actions. It would take some time and paperwork but will not cost us anything unless we win the case. Then the law firm gets a percentage. I am willing to work with one more others here who truly want to settle out this problem. I cant believe 2,000 (and thats only here), people are willing to eat hundreds, thousands of dollars of worthless, mind-gripping, rubble such as we have spent our hard-earned money. Other manufacturers recall their defective merchandise and/or replace it, or make arrangements with the retail stores who carry it to make amends, free repairs, whatever it takes to make dissatisfied, disenfranchised customers, whole. We paid for these demons from hell and we deserve to get an equivalent in merchandise (that works properly) or services. That is how it is done here in the U.S. For the life of me, I just cant comprehend why Whirlpool has been allowed to continue selling this junk--why no entity or person or lawsuit has stopped them! As I said, I am willing to work with a core group who is serious about filing a Class Action (Law) Suit against Whirlpool. It may be that the retail stores would be included as well; however, that is a matter best left to the discretion of whichever law firm we select to represent us. For those of you here who do NOT wish to be included, do not worry; you are not being pushed into anything. The way Class Actions work, you have the choice to opt IN (be included to receive your pro-rata share of what is collected). Or you are completely free to opt OUT. By opting out, that means you do not wish to be part of the Class Action and therefore, you will not be included nor will you receive any portion of the recompense collected via the Class Action. Just for your information, though: You are allowed, by law, to bring your OWN lawsuit against all or some of the same parties. The most common reason for opting out, is if you have suffered an extra large financial loss and prefer to file your own suit in order to collect ALL recompense; whereas, sometimes - in a Class Action - the individual plaintiffs may not recoup the total amount they feel they have lost. If you DO decide to opt out and go on your own, realize you will be fully responsible for lawyer fees (although you CAN add them into the balance you are seeking in your suit. Settlement of your claim may or may not include lawyers fees.) Good Luck to all. We have a Whirlpool Cabrio mod. WTW5600 XW2, ser. C12830447 he... H2O.. low wash system. Less than two years old. It does not get clothes or towels clean. I put 2 jackets in on bulky items and part of one of the jackets was still dry. They were two small childrens jackets. My husband and I wash as long as possible and on hot wash (which is not hot!). Should not take 70+ minutes to try & get normal clothes clean!Now the softener is draining into the wash with the detergent. Another service call. Learned you can only fill the softened bin half full or less. WHAT??? Our extended warranty is up soon and not sure what to do. We would like to get rid of this pile of junk but cant afford another washer bill. Also wouldnt want anyone else to get stuck with it. Its a shame a company cant put out #1 good product and #2 stand behind it. Bring all of the company production back to the USA or put out a better product and stop worshiping the almighty dollar. Im done with Whirlpool (which was the product to buy), but stuck with this washer for now until we are sure that the brand we buy performs as it should. What happened to the PRIDE in & RESPONSIBILITY of making a good product and standing by what youve made. As my hubby has said, if you have to buy an extended warranty, whats wrong with your product! Purchased an expensive, Cabriolet Washer in 2014 to replace a well used Kenmore washer. Sucked into the, Whirlpool is a good brand and spent more than I would have. Lid lock fault started about 3 months ago, googled fix and found this to be a very common problem with this brand. Have been able to override and reset it but it is very frustrating to deal with. Called in a repair person this morning who, for $140 told us we had a faulty lid lock and for $360 he would replace it. I contacted Whirlpool and asked if they were aware of this very common complaint (just google it) and they were not but offered to make a record of mine. Please do not buy Whirlpool. Very disappointed with their product and their response.

My 3 year old Whirlpool refrigerator costing $1285.86, needs a new motor and fan. Of course it died right after a trip to the grocery store. On a week temperatures were well into the 90 degree range. Needless to say my groceries had to be thrown out at a cost of an additional $250. How convenient that the refrigerator died 2 months after the 3 year protection plan ran out. I just spent $182.94 to have a repair person come and check out the refrigerator. I will need to spend another $170.00-$200.00 for the motor and fan once the parts come in, which can take up to another 10 days. Had to go out and buy a backup refrigerator that cost $562.38. Also had an issue with this refrigerator after a year and half with ice building up in the bottom of the freezer. Luckily we had the protection plan at that time, otherwise that would have cost us $157.58. The refrigerator is stainless steel and I have a terrible time keeping the rust off the front of it. At this point l guess all I can do is warn everyone I know to never buy a Whirlpool appliance if this is an indication of how they manufacture their products. So very disgusted with this refrigerator! Sad my old Frigidaire was close to 30 years old when the freezer just wasnt freezing well anymore. Thats why my new backup refrigerator is a Frigidaire and not a Whirlpool.

We recently purchased a Whirlpool fridge, model WRT138FFDW and are very disappointed with a couple things. First of all, the refrigerator arrived with a broken shelf. Although it was no problem getting a replacement, we found out quickly that it is very hard to balance things on a wire shelf. Water bottles and the like fall over. It is completely our fault for not noticing when we purchased, but just giving you a heads up that it will be a pain for you. Secondly, the sound of the fridge is very loud. It truly is driving my wife crazy. When we called Whirlpool, we were told that if they come out to take a look and the part is not under warranty, we would be charged $129. It is a brand new refrigerator, how can some parts not be covered??!! On a positive note, it does keep things cold and the color white is nice. I will not be purchasing any more Whirlpool items for my home. Bad fridge and customer care!!

Whirlpool Dishwasher MOD#WDT970SAHZ0. I have to wash the dish before it goes in otherwise it doesn’t get food or anything off. It DOES NOT DRY at all. Even when I add the heat extended dry button. The normal setting takes 3 hrs & 12min to run & again, doesnt really wash & for sure doesnt dry. I have added jet dry. I called and they keep telling me it should have more jet dry! Ugh! I now have rust happening because it doesn’t dry. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL.

First, the storage drawer doesnt close properly aligned. When viewed from the side it looks off kilter. This is because the foot of the range interferes with it closing. Second, what is with the bright blue color of the time/temp on the computer screen? Everything else in the kitchen is green, but now I have bright blue(?).

I purchased Whirlpool washer in Dec.2017 and used it in winter months only (Nov to March). It kept leaking and had to get appliance repair service for $50 and was told that machine is defective and whirlpool should repair it or replace it. I phoned whirlpool and they told me I have to use their appliance repair shop to evaluate the machine for cost of $130. The inlet valve was leaking and needed replacement for a cost of $253.55 and whirlpool shirked all and any responsibility. Dont buy whirlpool as it is not a good product and service is poor.

Whirlpool Gold refrigerator WRF989SDAH00. I purchased this French door refrigerator based on past experiences with Whirlpool and sad to say this is not the same quality product I have know Whirlpool for. After the warranty ran out, it died. The first service company I called identified the problem as a known (to Whirlpool) design flaw. They would not touch it and referred me to contact Whirlpool. I did and the company referred me to Dinos Appliance Factory Service (in Phoenix AZ). They came out and confirmed it was a design flaw. They replaced the evaporator and compressor and it lasted about 6 weeks.
