Weve owned a Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher for about seven years. There has not been a year that has passed that we have not had to place a service call with a local service provider. (Each service call costs $85.85.) The upper tray has come off the tracks more than 10 times. The drainage mechanism broke the first time we used the dishwasher. The fuse box (which is amazingly a self-contained, enclosed, black box) has blown twice, has to be completely replaced, and costs over $180. The second time it broke, I ordered, paid for, and had delivered the replacement part only to find out that the broken part suddenly started working again. (I guess Ill have the $180 part for the next time it breaks.) To suggest that this product is junk is an understatement. It will be replaced very shortly.

Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but problems (at least 7 problems). The 1st one is a potential fire hazard. Porcelain/enamel shattered on bottom interior panel of BOTH ovens in less than 60 days (exposing underlying metal to rust). Cracked in an odd stress-pattern that indicates the metal expanded during heating, and the porcelain finish did not tolerate the expansion. The lower oven had only been used 2X before I noticed the fracture pattern. Obviously faulty design; a manufacturers defect. Whirlpool claims it is cosmetic damage and when porcelain eventually flakes off, they will send me touch-up paint. (If I dent the outside of an appliance with my wheelchair, thats cosmetic damage. Its a manufacturers defect if the damage happens during normal operation. The appliance damaged itself, not the user.)The preheat function does not work on either oven. The oven indicates it is 350-degrees, when it is actually 125-degrees. Repairman says this is normal; ignore the indicator and navigate by store-bought thermometers”. The temperature can vary 50 degrees on either side of the actual setting (thats a 100 degree range!). Between the faulty preheat and the wide range in temperature, it makes it very hard to bake bread or cake.The rest are annoying problems: The timer is a single “beep” (not even very loud), followed by another single beep every minute. This is not much help if you are folding laundry while the cookies bake. The windows have so many dots on them theyre not clear enough to see how the food is cooking (or read the store-bought thermometers) without opening the doors. The oven produces a lot of steam that fogs up the windows (Ive never had this happen, and Im past the half century point). The exhaust fan is loud and it blows hot air into the drawer under the oven (another potential fire hazard). Dont buy this oven. It has several design flaws and Whirlpool does not stand behind their product.

The knob on the Gas Cook top stove from Whirlpool (Part no: W10594481) is very poorly designed. It is very flimsy and breaks easily inside. Outside it still looks intact, but if you examine it on the reverse side, where it actually fits into the cooktops metal rod to turn the gas up or down, we can see it breaks there, as it is made of very cheap plastic. Although it is supposed to be a Stainless steel knob, it is actually all plastic where it matters most. I bought the new cook top from Whirlpool in 2014 and within a year have replaced all the knobs as they were breaking once every couple of months. I am still having this problem after 2 years now. I have contacted Whirlpool and have asked for a solution to this problem. They dont have any, other than offering a new version of the knob which costs $10 more and it is not easily available anywhere. I feel very cheated that I got a poor quality product and no help from them on fixing the problem.

The washer is 5 years old and the dryer is about 12 years old. I have a Whirlpool Cabrio HE washer and a Kenmore Atlantis dryer. The dryer is relatively quiet and has 4 heat settings (including no heat) as well as multiple choices for the type of drying, i.e. wrinkle release, damp dry. The HE washer is noisy and a load of clothes does require a much longer time period than a standard washing machine. My guess is youll spend what you save on water usage for the electric power required to run this type of machine.

I have the 4.3 cu. ft. washer. This washer worked OK, but the lid lock does fail after about one year if the washer is in an environment where moisture may be present.I noticed the lid lock not working all the time about two months before the warranty expired. If this happens, call the warranty department immediately. After checking the ground wire and resetting the washer power over and over again, the lid lock finally stopped working completely. Here is how to fix it:There are two screws on the back of the top portion of the washer. Unscrew them from the silver straps. The washer lid will now push forward and up and off. Prop it up with a stick.Unscrew the two screws on the lid lock and start taking it apart (after reading this entire review). Be careful not to lose any parts and be sure to know where everything goes for re-assembly. Take pictures if necessary. Take the lid lock completely apart including any small pieces.The plastic slide needs to be cleaned. It has a spring that may fall when you pull it apart.The metal contact points inside the lid lock mechanism need to be cleaned. Be extremely careful when pulling the red cover off of the housing assembly. Pull the four metal contact points completely out of the plastic assembly. Be real careful with the black plastic slide piece, the metal rocker switch and the switch actuating motor. Use a small file and rubbing alcohol to clean off any green or white corrosion. Make sure to check all contact points.Re-assemble and you will immediately notice the lock switch working better. Re-install onto the machine. Re-install the upper portion of the washer. Start your laundry. Repeat after one year or when the lid lock becomes faulty again. These points should have been made out of a less corrosive material. Poor craftsmanship. Would not recommend.

My husband and I purchased a new Maytag top load washing machine from Best Buy in May 2017. On June 19th, a month later, as I am washing, all of a sudden the machine dies down. I checked everything from the outlet, the plug to the circuit breaker, and nothing seemed to help get my washer to start up again. Unfortunately I had wet clothes inside and the lid is one of those that locks itself and it would not open. :( I called Whirlpool/Maytag to explain my situation and could not believe that they told me that they only have 1 authorized appliance repair dealer they work with in my area and that they didnt show any available appointments until 4 weeks from now? WHAT? Are you kidding me? I could not wait that long, especially since I had soaking wet clothes sitting inside the washer.I asked if I called someone else myself and have it repaired sooner, would they reimburse me for the expenses. They refused to do that and told me I need to wait for their own authorized repair dealers. Talk about bad customer service here :( My husband called them back and asked to speak to a supervisor at Whirlpool and was told that it shouldnt have to be that long for us to wait for repair so why was I told that in the first place? The supervisor proceeded to tell my husband that we will get a call back in 5 days? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 5 days just for someone to CALL us? And then have to wait longer to get our service done? No way!We think that Whirlpool sold Best Buy a lemon and we are paying for it! Why cant they say that they will get in touch with Best Buy so they can deliver a new working machine and take this lemon back? We are not happy with their responses so we will be paying Best Buy a visit to see what else we can do. I already spent unnecessary money to go to a laundromat to wash clothes :( I would recommend that people stay away from Whirlpool products. Well see if we can exchange ours for another brand.

Whirlpool wdf530plym4 - Bought this dishwasher 5/13. Sat for 3 months in the box while my kitchen was being built. 7/14 pump motor went out, called Whirlpool, they set me up with an appliance repair company, and I ended up paying $90. The technician was being nice, charging me less than he needed to since he said it was an easy fix. 1/26/2015 pump motor went out again. Called Whirlpool again. Lady on phone was very snooty with me, telling me it was out of warranty. Told them I was very dissatisfied, my dishwasher has broken 2x in 18 months and all she said was, I should have bought the extended warranty. Dishwasher is not even 2 years old and already needs to be fixed 2x. The most expensive part on the machine I may add. Going my average, I can keep dumping $130 every 9 months to have a working dishwasher by Whirlpool. I would understand if the thing broke after 2 or 3 years. I only run the thing 2 or 3x a week at the most.

Very dependable. We loved all of our appliances in the past as well as in the present. It has been a go to for us especially with bad experiences with other brands like OG and GE. We have gotten a washer and a good dryer and have worked. No complaints whatsoever.

Whirlpool washing machine #WTW58ESVW1 - I bought this thinking Whirlpool was a good brand name. I was totally wrong. My machine is two years old and the auto sensor switch has quit working 6 times. One time it only did 6 loads of laundry. Another it only worked for 6 weeks. That time I replaced the switch myself to save money on a repairman. Ironically the switch is still under warranty but they will not replace it unless a serviceman comes to confirm that the switch is dead again. This is because 2 have already been returned to them. Obviously, there is a problem with the switch. The company will do nothing. They used the excuse that I did not purchase an extended warranty. This is merely an excuse. Do not purchase any Whirlpool products. You will be wasting your money and time having to end up going to go out to do laundry.

I had purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Side-by-Side ED2KHAXVS in Jan. 2013, the fridge had stopped working in the last week in 2014. I am out of a fridge as of today 01/13/2015. I did not have an extended warranty, I have called Whirlpool in Michigan and inquire if there has been any complain about the fridge, my question was not answered! I had bought the refrigerator from Karls in Fairfield, NJ. I found out from the repair person that I needed a new starter and a new compressor, I was surprised to have learn that the major parts do not have any guarantee on them beyond the warranty. WHY IS THIS REFRIGERATOR IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST?

Whirlpool appliance suite purchased May 2013. Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator with bottom freezer, Model #GX5FHTXV. At the end of my kitchen remodel, I was excited to have my new Whirlpool appliances delivered by an authorized Whirlpool installer. When the refrigerator install was complete, I alerted the delivery people the French doors were not aligned properly. There was at least 1/4 difference at the top of the doors. They did their best to fix the problem to no avail.I called the Specialty Appliance store to complain and they had a repair man come a few short days later to examine the issue. He inspected the problem and had to order new door parts. A few long weeks later, the repair man came to install the new parts. Well, to my disgust, the new parts did not fix the problem. This next sentence only refers to the place I bought the darn thing. I then called Specialty Appliance to inquire about returning the appliance and of course they wouldnt take the appliance. Im stuck with it. The workman ship is cheap. The internal drawers are poor at best. I spent a good deal of money on what I thought would be a good product. My previous appliance suite was Whirlpool and I NEVER had issues the 13 years I had them.Whirlpool Gold freestanding double oven gas range, Model #GGG388LX. Problem: oven catches fire while self-cleaning oven. Big problem. Takes forever to get rid of the smell that leaves behind. The range itself has worked well. No issues with cooktop and its easy to clean. The grates dont stay black and look rusted in a couple of places. Oven cooks well as I know how to make adjustments as to not overcook meals.Following cleaning instructions provided by Whirlpool, I wipe out the oven (when cool) after spills if there are any. I thought I would run the self clean since Ive had the appliance over a year to properly maintain it. BAD IDEA. After running the self clean cycle for about 35 min, I noticed fire. Wanting to protect my $60K remodel investment, I quickly cancelled the clean cycle and watched smoke pour out of the top. Not a fun experience. It took about 15 minutes for the fire inside the bottom compartment to finally go out. Wont be self cleaning my self-clean oven again! By the way, I didnt clean the oven with chemicals because the owners manual states not to and I HATE using those chemical anyway. Again, stuck with an appliance I am not satisfied with. Lesson learned? Yes, I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again. Kinda wish I still had my old white ones...

I purchased a 40-gal Whirlpool water heater model 40t91-403 last week and paid a plumber to have it installed. The old one (GE 40 gal) worked fine except for a leak. The new one used all of the old connections except the 2-inch in and out pipes. Same connections, hot, cold and gas. At first I got about a quart of hot water and then all cold. Whirlpool changed the valve and cold water pipe (inside the tank) and still the same. They are trying to tell me that the tank is fine - I have a plumbing problem. Two plumbers have told me different, but still they insist. Yes, I am upset. The old GE, even with a leak, performed better!

I earlier filed a complaint about the Whirlpool Gold microwave arcing within a minute of cooking frozen green beans and causing burn holes in the food. We contacted Whirlpool’s customer service and were told that the machine was no longer under warranty, but we could have it serviced, repaired and have an additional year of warranty for $259. We took a pass on that. Further trial and error along with research helped us come to the realization that the arcing was caused by the high mineral content of the green beans. Whirlpool did not tell us this, but we found the information provided by others. We no longer cook the particular brand of green beans which seem to cause this event. The microwave is no longer arcing. You would think Whirlpool might be aware of this.

I have a model FG1F4034T3NOV water heater that was a problem since day one. The pilot will not stay lit, and apparently, there was some sort of class action lawsuit due to a defective part that I missed out on because I didnt know about it. The telephone representative is quick to point out that it is out of warranty due to the date of manufacture and that it needs about $200 in parts because I cant find the receipt from 4 years ago, when I bought it from Lowes. The company flat out refused to do a courtesy replacement for parts or discount them.

I purchased a new Whirlpool stainless steel French door refrigerator MSRP for $2,500 in good faith. If something were to go wrong with the appliance, Whirlpool would fix the unit as applicable under their accompanying written Whirlpool Corporation Major Appliance Warranty for the duration of one (1) year from date of purchase. However, this has not turned out to be the case at all. As per their written Whirlpool Corporation Major Appliance Warranty for one (1) year from the date of purchase, when this major appliance is operated and maintained according to instructions attached to or furnished with the product, Whirlpool Corporation will pay for factory specified parts and repair labor to correct defects in materials or workmanship that existed when this major appliance was purchased. Service must be provided by a Whirlpool designated service company.My refrigerator was purchased on 10/27 and delivered on 10/28. Service repair performed by a Whirlpool designated service company was on 11/30, 12/30, 1/9, 1/18, 2/9, and 2/23. A future appointment was scheduled for 3/22. Whirlpool’s designated service company notes from 2/9 specifically state that the refrigerator will not run and parts were ordered. Whirlpool’s designated service company returned on 2/23 for parts installation and noticed that other components of the appliance were not functioning properly and proceeded to call the tech line for support. After hours of troubleshooting and multiple failures to function properly, the service company deemed the refrigerator as un-repairable and clearly stated in their notes that the unit was not cooling, there is a manufacturing defect, restriction in the units seal system, and the unit needs to be replaced. I was instructed that the tech line would complete the ticket, send the information over to Whirlpool Corporation, and I would need to follow up with Whirlpool’s customer service to set up the delivery of a replacement and haul away of the non-working defective refrigerator.Furthermore, the company (manager Wanda at the TN office), had already promised to replace this unit if the service repair performed on 12/30 did not fix the unit, which the company has never honored and has since decided to recuse themselves of this promise made on behalf of their employee. In addition, this Whirlpool manger (Wanda at the TN office) even gave me her direct phone number and extension to follow up with her. She has never answered any of my 10 phone calls over a period of 3 weeks and never attempted to return a single voicemail that I left for her. Since the promise of a replacement refrigerator, I contacted Whirlpool by phone on the following dates: 12/30, 1/3 and 1/16; 1/17, 1/19, and 1/30; 2/20, 2/24, and 2/28; 3/2, 3/9, and 3/13; and 3/15, 3/16, and 3/19. I as well have emailed them information they have requested on 2/20, 2/24, and 2/28.Below is verbatim of the last few Whirlpool customer service representatives that I have had correspondences with.2/28 (Tabitha): I have sent in your information for the PEX (replacement unit) since I see here that your unit is un-repairable. Someone will continue to contact you within 24 to 48 hours to go over the PEX process with you.3/2 (Brittany): I see we received your file on March 1st; however, it was denied because the request was blank. Can I place you on hold on a moment? (After a long pause) I apologize for leaving you on hold so long. Your records were listed under two different accounts on our end with one being linked by your phone number and another being linked by your address; therefore, all of your records have probably not been viewable. Upon further review of your information, our Whirlpool designated service company that performed service on 2/23 will have to call into the tech line to complete their notes before we can proceed. No, you cannot speak to a manager. If you wish to have a manager contact you, one will do so within 24-48 hours. You cannot speak to a manager because at this time there is nothing they can do to assist you; unfortunately, this process is moving along at its fastest place and there is nothing more we can do for you at the moment. There is nothing that we can accept from you to speed this process along, even though your copy of the service company’s receipts include the statements of work from our designated service company. If you wish to escalate this matter, you can write to Whirlpool Customer Relations Department at 553 Denson Road.3/9 (Kia, supervisor): Although our designated service company may deem your unit un-repairable, Whirlpool has to deem your unit un-repairable for a replacement to be issued. Their mailing address was already provided to you previously. At this point, our conversation is over. We will not be replacing the product as we do not determine it to be un-repairable. I am aware of everything you have said and I have documented this information. At this time, I am done discussing this with you and will now hang up the line.This kind of customer service is not only discourteous, but it is despicable in the upmost matter. This displays complete corruption in regards to the written warranties provided by Whirlpool Corporation that come with your Whirlpool product at the time of purchase. Currently as it stands on 3/20, my $2,500 valued Whirlpool refrigerator is just under (5) months of the purchase date and has been deemed as having a significant manufacturing defect, as well as needing replacement by Whirlpool’s designated service company that they hold a contract with. Yet, Whirlpool refuses to replace the unit and refuses to speak with me based on the ground that only their contractactually designated service company deems the refrigerator as un-repairable, but they do not. My refrigerator has not worked in weeks!From reading the Whirlpool appliance product reviews online, I discovered that I am by far not the only consumer that has suffered from victimization on behalf of Whirlpool Corporation. I saw numerous consumers who had purchased the exact same product (matching model number) as me, had issues, and Whirlpool refused to assist them. Therefore, I think that we as consumers need to take a stance to stop these unethical practices of Whirlpool Corporation and demand that they honor their written warranty for their products. This company’s abuse and neglect of their consumers is absurd.

I bought this Whirlpool America dishwasher because it was cheap. Even though Im Canadian, I like patriotism and I could get behind the American flag logo on the washer. Let me just say, if you like when food comes off your plates, and attaches to your cups, then this is the dishwasher for you. It is always a surprise when you open the door to discover which dishes have been cleaned, and which dishes have inherited the food particles from the now clean dishes. This appliance really helps you work on time management as you are required to wash all your dishes before you put them into the dishwasher. 0/10 would not recommend for anyone who wants clean dishes.

Whirlpool Refrigerator WRS526SIAH00. Well we have always had a lot of trust in Whirlpool appliances over the years. Just about everything we have is Whirlpool brand including water heater. We remodeled our kitchen and bought a new refrigerator in July 2013 (just for the color/look change). We have had nothing but problems from day one with the water/ice dispenser water may or may not work. Now (AUG 2015) the refrigerator side started freezing our food, milk and tea gallon jugs frozen solid. Went down a self fix list on an appliance parts website using our fridge symptoms, said it was probably the bimetal defrost thermostat. Replaced that part. It didnt fix it.So I did my own troubleshooting and found the cold air was continuing to push from freezer into fridge area, found this cheaply made plastic damper broke and stuck open. Now that part will cost another $50+. Whirlpool knows about these cheaply made parts they have put in these appliances. You cant even get to this part without taking things apart. This is a cheap manufacturers plastic part and Whirlpool knows it. Its not the consumers fault. It was a joke when we received an extended warranty offer from Whirlpool for just $208 per year or $626 for 5 years - I wouldnt spend another dime with Whirlpool. The price is high because they know how many parts are breaking on these units. You shouldnt have any repairs for 10 years on a refrigerator. We are stuck with a lot of Whirlpool products now, but we are done with this brand. Dont waste your money.

GB2SHDXTS02 - Bought the Unit and an additional 4 yr protection plan. Shortly after the plan expired the plastic drip pan cracked and spilled water all over the laminate floor. It is still bucked from the water. Repairman came out and confirmed the crack, but we were without the refrig for a couple of weeks. Now the top doesnt cool, but the freezer does. Problem probably the defrost system, the fan, the control assy, or the thermistor, but I am too old to fix it myself. My fault for not checking ratings before I bought, but built in obsolescence is obvious here. Whirlpool used to be a good company, but I will never or will my family ever buy another appliance from them.

Ive had my Whirlpool refrigerator for 6 months and since then Ive had it serviced 7 TIMES! Im a person who works so every time my fridge breaks down I have to take time off from work to wait around on a tech. I just called Whirlpool to see if they can switch my fridge out and they said NO! All they can offer me is a $50 check and have a different company come out and check my fridge. Im SO UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED! I remember when I was a little girl my parents and grandparents would talk about how good Whirlpool was and I was so excited when I moved into my first brand new house 6 months ago. It had all brand new Whirlpool appliances but now I think they are a piece of crap because to top it all off my microwave broke down 3 months after I moved in and I waited over a month from the time I reported it to have the tech come out and replace it. I dont recommend ANYONE buy this brand!

We have had every issue with our Cabrio model 6600 SB2 that Kimber of Salem, VA has had. Thankfully, we purchased an extended warranty at time of purchase(1-31-07) from Lowes or repair costs would have totaled more that the price of the washer, which was $900.00.It is now making a loud noise during spin cycle that sounds like a bearing going out. It is 1 month from being out of the 4 year extended warranty and today, 12-26-11, the repairman has told me that the washer needs to be rebuilt. The washer itself, does not clean that well and the clothes are so wrinkled when they come out, that the dryer cannot get the wrinkles out, so everything needs to be ironed. What a pain!We bought this washer because Consumer Reports magazine listed it as a best buy. This is not the first recommendation Ive chosen because of their magazine that I was disappointed with. I have lost faith in them. I would not recommend this washer to anyone. The matching dryer, however, has been trouble free.

Overall the stove works well but it is horrible to clean. You have to use a lot of muscle to get the spills up from around the burners. It is hard to get around the burners to get all the spots off. The gas burners work well & cook evenly.

I bought a brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer. The Whirlpool Cabrio washer does not clean my clothes no matter what size load you have. I have tried every combination possible to get my clothes clean and 95% of the time there are clothes that don’t even get wet let alone clean! I have only owned this washer since July 22, 2018 and am now willing to give it away - that’s how upset and displeased I am with it! If you read reviews, stay away from this model - not good!

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer in 2007. They have been the biggest pieces of junk. One year after my purchase, the water pump broke and had to be replaced for $100 and that is with my husband doing it. Then the dryer broke twice. Now, the washer is not spinning. He took it apart and I purchased $80 in parts. It still doesnt spin. He thinks the motor went and it gives a p50 code. This washer does make holes in your clothes. So many of my summer tops were ruined because of this washer. A friend has the same washer and she started getting the holes in the clothes, so that is how we figured it out. Today, I went and picked up a washer at my rental home, a GE that is 10 years old. My clothes never felt cleaner and it runs like a charm. That Cabrio always smelled like mildew because it seemed like all the water didnt drain out of it and it would sit in the bottom. What a shame. Its only 6 years old and I paid $800 for it and for parts. My husband cant wait to put it on the curb on garbage day. My friend warrantied hers and when the guy couldnt fix the problem, they gave her partial money back. At least she got something. These should be recalled and we should get partial money back depending on how old it is. I will tell everyone not buy these. They are the biggest pieces of junk!

Have read several reviews on Whirlpool refrigerator. Short and sick. I had my refrigerator less than a month. Broke down, been getting NO satisfaction from Whirlpool whatsoever. I WILL NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES AGAIN. Service is terrible. Months have gone by, and its still sitting in my kitchen broken. They are taking their sweet time fixing it. Garbage. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL, save yourself the hassles.

They contacted me to replace the washer. And the uninstall/install will be at my own cost. Its more generous than I expected. I thought they would send another technician and make everything go back and forth. This solution does save my time. I hope the new machine wont have all the series of issues.

We have had this range in our new home and in use since May, 2019. The first range had to be returned after its first use due to flaking of the interior walls; a problem the company acknowledged. Since then we have been so unhappy with its ability to maintain the oven temperature. Contrary to the instructions, we calibrated the oven temp and found that it would vary up to 20 degrees lower than the set temp. When set to 350, it would come up to that temp and then cut off until it fell to 330 when it would come back up to 350. That is a great differential noticeable in the time it takes to heat an item and which greatly affects baked goods. A similar lack of consistency in control in the range elements is apparent as well. Now those are major defects. Minor defects are: it is NOT a rapid preheat at all, both lights are on when the switch is engaged even though only one oven is in use, there is no clock function when the timer is in use and the range surface is difficult to clean as it streaks which is visible with the black finish.

My stove hasnt been a problem from the start. I have had to buy two parts one for the oven, and the top. I feel my stove is dangerous. I would not buy a Whirlpool again. I would like to know who makes the stove that dont costs a arm and a leg. My stove is less than five-year old.

We purchased a new Whirlpool Cooker (Model Number YWFE745HOFH2) in June 2021. Our first disappointment came when we used the Self Clean function to clean the oven. Unlike our previous Whirlpool cooker (which we were very pleased with) this required us to put water into the bottom section of the oven. After the advised time the oven was exactly the same as at the start of the process. For readers of this review I would like to stress that the oven was not excessively soiled. We just wanted to try out the feature. In August my wife dropped a ceramic cup onto the cooker top and the top shattered completely. This, of course, was not the fault of Whirlpool, but we were shocked that the damage was so extensive. A new cooker top was ordered and arrived at the beginning of October (dispatch problems). After each use of the cooker top it has been cleaned with a recommended cleaning product. Today I accidentally allowed a pot of rice to boil over and, although I immediately removed the pot from the cooker top and wiped both the bottom of the pot and the top before continuing, the residue will not come off of the surface. It looks awful! We had our last cooker for over 10 years - if I could afford to I would get rid of this product tomorrow!

I have used Whirlpool products for over 30 yrs. This is the worst made product I have ever purchased. The ice maker doesnt produce very much ice. The cold water on door isnt cold. There is too much wasted space in freezer and refrig. side. You cannot get anyone to call you back to call for help. I contacted Whirlpool over a month ago. No return call yet. Consumers beware!! Model no. WSF26C3EXF01.

16 months after purchase, the machine starts displaying F71 codes, 6 weeks later F70. After calling Whirlpool customer service number on the User Manual, we were told that the washer was out of warranty and there was nothing that Whirlpool was going to do for us. I have a reasonable expectation that a brand new $800 washing machine will operate for many, many, trouble free years, but finding an electronic failure that has been estimated at $400 to repair, 16 months after purchase, is simply and obviously unacceptable. This is clearly a defect in design and/or manufacturing.

I am very upset. I bought a Whirlpool range (model YGFE461LVS) 2 and a half years ago and today when I tried to bake a cake, the oven overheated (as if I had put it on broil) and although the display box showed that it had turned itself off, the oven kept heating and getting hotter and hotter, I had to unplug it. I feel like I have bought disposable appliances! How could I have such serious problems after only 2 years? To top it all off, this past week my fridge (also a whirlpool, model WRT779RFYM10) also started acting up. Water is leaking all over inside the fridge and the freezer. I have to clean it up everyday.

Last year, our clothes started coming out too wrinkled. And until recently, its making a loud noise like an airplane. I called Whirlpool, and the only help they can give me is finding a company that would do service and would charge a lot.

My Whirlpool Duet washer was purchased on August 2006. The first one had to be replaced as it flooded my laundry room on the first floor and the basement – not once but twice. When I was told that they would send yet another service person out to try and fix it, I told them it would be at the curb and that I was looking forward to filing a lawsuit. Then after being on hold for forever and getting the company that sold me the unit involved, they replaced the washer at no charge.From day one I hated this washer machine. If you failed to take the clothes out immediately after washing, they would get a musty type odor and I never felt the clothes got cleaned enough. Yesterday, I went to empty a load of laundry and it was soaking wet with water pooling in the bottom of the barrel. Today, I had a certified Whirlpool tech come and look at the washer and he told me to put it at the curb as the rear bearing is shot and needed to be replaced. He also told me not to buy another front loader and the cost of the repair would be approximately $800.Thank you to Whirlpool for manufacturing a true hunk of crap that, may I say, cost me $1300. I will make sure I tell everyone I know that your products are crap and I would rather wash my clothes by hand. I did call the WP customer service number and was told that this is unheard of and that these machines rarely have any problems. After just reading multiple complaints of the exact same problem, I now know that this product is inferior and the design of the bearing assembly is seriously flawed. A major recall is probably in the near future and Whirlpool is hoping that most people will just dump them before the recall is made public.

My Whirlpool refrigerator, model number ET8MHJKXM005, constantly leaks water into the bottom inside of the refrigerator. Its only 4 years old, for crying out loud! I have a repairman coming over in a few days who tells me the newer Whirlpool refrigerators are notorious for having the drain ice up. Why would Whirlpool design such garbage? They should all be recalled.

I purchased 4 Whirlpool appliances late 2014. The French door refrigerator close to a year later made a piercing sound several times during a day. I immediately contacted Whirlpool and the representative directed me to YouTube to listen to the normal sounds the refrigerator would make. My first thought was I have been a homeowner for 30 years and countless appliances and never heard such a horrible sound. At the same time they sold me an extended warranty over the phone. He assured me sounds were covered. The sound just kept getting louder and more frequent. I could not take this piercing sound and called back. They sent a local repair service. At the time the repair person came out the refrigerator was not making the sound. I played a video recording and the repairman even said what an terrible sound it was. He continued to check everything over and said - everything looks good. I dont know what the sound is coming from. I asked, What is Whirlpool going to do? He said, nothing, the warranty ran out and your extended warranty does not cover sounds. What a ripoff! Now the drawers broke and another thing they wont cover! I also have problems with the dishwasher I purchased at the same time. Even putting on the extended hot dry I need to wipe everything off. I should have just open a window a tossed out over 2k. The sound is so horrible I am being forced to junk the refrigerator and purchase a new one. Dont purchase Whirlpool and never purchase extended warranty over the phone.

We are now over a month without a working fridge/freezer because of the lack of Whirlpool care. Our brand new Whirlpool fridge stopped working after 3 days. That was nearly a month ago. I have wasted hours on the phone with rude reps from both Home Depot and Whirlpool. A new one with multiple dents was attempted to be delivered today which I wouldnt sign for knowing Id be stuck with it. Now we have to wait 2 weeks for another one. A $100 compensation doesnt nearly cover our food loss let alone a family of 4 living without a functioning fridge and freezer. I will never purchase Whirlpool again!

I am so disappointed, angry and tired! Unfortunately, I listened to the salesperson regarding this feature and bought it hook, line and sinker! The Aqualift self clean system is a joke! It only cleans the bottom of the oven and that is after you mop up the water left in the bottom and scrub it. No amount of scrubbing even touches the sides, back or window, even after using the Aqualift feature 3 times! I spent hundreds of dollars only to be down on my hands and knees scrubbing to no avail. I have not seen 1 good review regarding this system. Shame on me for believing a salesperson and shame on me for not researching first. I will not make this mistake again!

I purchased a Whirlpool French door fridge 6 years ago. In less than a year, it was not cooling and I was able to retroactively purchase an extended warranty which ended up saving me a ton. Less than 3 years later it had broken 3 times with three different part problems with a total down time of 6 months. Despite saying it didn’t qualify for lemon law, I was able to get it replaced after presenting all the facts. 3 years later, the new one is now currently experiencing the same problem and running a toasty 58 degrees and my food is once again in coolers on ice. Shopping for a different brand and I recommend you do as well. Whirlpool used to be a brand you could rely on. No more.

We bought the over-the-range Whirlpool microwave, model #WMH53520AH-1, about four years ago from Pacific Appliance Sales Kitchen and Home inside a Best Buy store in San Diego. The Magnetron and Diode have malfunctioned and been replaced. Now the plastic around the door is falling apart, cracking, and splitting. This is unacceptable, poor craftsmanship, and low quality for the price of this Whirlpool appliance. This needs to be reported to the company and properly addressed. Until then, were staying away from any Whirlpool related products. We also own Cabrio W/D. The washing machine has had problems from year one. Im submitting a separate review for this appliance. Consumer beware!

Both the washer and dryer make terrible screeching noise. The dryer only dries on time drying. The store I bought them from have been here over 7 times too fix them. They still are not fixed. Just a terrible experience with this set from day one, load one.

After 2 years the motherboard failed on my Top load Cabrio washer. We had to spend $300.00 dollars to get fixed. When we called Whirlpool to see what they would do about it, they actually offered to sell us the board for $345.00 dollars and a 1 year warranty on the board. They actually wanted us to pay more from them than a local repair service. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE OR ANY OTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS. Also does anyone know of any class action lawsuits surrounding their obvious use of defective parts?

In 2013, my husband purchased a Whirlpool Hot Water Heater model #E2F40RD045V 40 gal. from Lowes in Vancouver, WA. On 12/12/15, had to call a plumber, the hot water heater was intermittent hot/cold. He flushed it, checked all power connections and changed the elements. On 3/18/16, NO hot water. Having a 6 year warranty, I called Whirlpool. They gave all kinds of excuses and told me to try a bunch of tests. By the time I got back to call them they were closed. I called them again on Monday 3/21/16 and said nothing worked and it had popped the breaker. They said change the elements. I told them I had just changed the elements 3 months before. I told them it was faulty wiring. They said the top element must be faulty. I gave up at that point and called the plumber. He came right out the next day. I had purchased a Rheem hot water heater to install and asked him to check the Whirlpool hot water heater elements he installed before he removed it. That is when it was discovered that under the insulation around the bottom element it was all scorched from FAULTY wiring. I called Whirlpool again and told them I could send them a picture and they said dont bother and immediately gave me an RA to return the hot water heater to Lowes. I told them I had already purchased another hot water heater and it was not a Whirlpool. I am going to request a refund.

Purchased brand new washer & dryer that was chosen specifically for its HE & washing capabilities as Im a single mom with 5 kids, 2 of whom have disabilities, & I need a good washer & dryer. Washer and dryer both broke several times. I paid for an extended warranty but they never resolved the issue. Called Whirlpool & they didnt care. Four years later, Im using a set I bought used that rips my clothes while the washer & dryer sit still broken. Will never buy from Whirlpool or Kettles again.

My double oven is less than 2 years old. I just used the self-cleaning feature on the bottom oven and now it wont work at all. I understand that this is a common problem with Whirlpool ovens and I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. What a piece of junk! I have used self-cleaning on my ovens ever since they were invented and have never had a problem before.

This machine is junk. It does not get clothes clean. I had jeans that I soaked and were fairly clean when I put them into wash and had another pair of jeans with a little dried mud. My whole load came out filthy. I am having to rewash the whole load after hand cleaning the washing machine. I replaced a machine that was 25 years old that did a better job than this piece of junk now sitting on its place.

This is a horrible washing machine. All the clothes (and I mean small loads, medium loads, large loads) come out twisted and so wrinkled. I have never seen anything like it. I dont machine dry many items and so everything not dried that way has to be ironed. Also, there is white residue of some kind left on the clothes so the extra rinse must be used. How is that energy and water-saver sufficient? Again, the government EPA in its brilliance has screwed up another product. It also takes much longer to wash clothes, again, energy efficient? After reading the wasted time on other reviews of talking to Whirlpool, I didnt even bother contacting them. HE front loaders (which we had a Samsung that lasted 1 1/2 years before breaking down) and replaced by this top loading HE, are the worst. Give me back my old fashioned washer.

Yesterday I purchased this Whirlpool top load washer model WTW4816FW with agitator and we installed it at our vacation home and I started a small load to wash. Yikes, it made noises like a machine that is on its last legs. I knew from washing clothes for 40 years that this is NOT right. We, hubby and I waited and listened to this piece of junk to finish the cycle. Thank god I had set it for a short wash. We also videoed this contraption while it was grinding. I called Lowes and politely told them I was returning it. Thankfully they never had a problem with us bringing it back. (This must happen often.) I go back to the appliance department and decide on a Maytag. I noticed that it looked like the junk we just returned. I stood there and looked up the model number online and lo and behold there was a video of it doing exactly the same noise. It was virtually the same machine I just returned with just a name change. Needless to say we left the store washerless until I can research this further. I then found out that Whirlpool now owns Maytag. Thing is I just bought a front loader Maytag for my main home and it works good. It was a replacement for a Whirlpool without a agitator which worked well too. The YouTube videos seem to be washers with agitators doing this. I just wish I could post the video for all to hear. I guess we are all at the mercy of big companies who dont care if they make a good product as long as they can make it cheap.

I have the model FG1H5040T3NOV water heater and had found this message board. I called the number posted by Chris with American Water Heater and provided them with my serial number. They shipped me the replacement assembly next day and after about an hour, I had it installed and working again. Im not too happy with the fact that it failed, but it does appear they have their act together in getting the replacement parts distributed.Based on the discussion with the person on the phone, my only real gripe is this: the cause of the component failure was potentially caused by a dirty-flame trap that supposedly needs to be cleaned regularly. Since the trap is underneath the water heater and is in no way really accessible, relying on people to see the fine print in the manual (which hardly anyone reads) isnt sufficient. At an absolute minimum, a very clear and apparent sticker should be included on all water heaters indicating this needs to be cleaned and a clear description of how to clean it properly to prevent this sort of unnecessary headache in the future.

WRF989SDAW02 - Oct 2013 1st refrig delivered. After 4 repairs within 6 months, Whirlpool put in a request to the Exchange Review Board to replace. New refrigerator (same model though) was delivered May 19, 2014. 4 repairs later for the exact same thing with the 1st refrigerator, it was again sent to Exchange Review Board to replace. New delivery was set for July 30, 2014. When delivery company arrived at my house with new refrig, I was told it was smashed on both sides. They would take care of contacting Whirlpool and schedule a new delivery date. From July 30, 2014 to present I still have no refrigerator from Whirlpool. I have 15 documented phone calls to Whirlpool or JB Hunt (delivery company).

Just plain terrible. Purchased Whirlpool Gold Seris Dishwasher Model w10698637a in June and now its been 3 attempts so far to fix a brand new dishwasher that does not clean. So far I have been asked... have you been heating the water before you start the cycle?, my favorite... Is this a whirlpool dishwasher. So I find out today that it will take another visit from a company that hasnt been able to fix it, plus a call to the tech line to make sure they havent missed anything. Purchased our hot water heater in August of 2011. About 3 days ago, it just stopped working. Surely it should last longer than this, right? Nope apparently I was taken! We called the manufacturer and described the issue. They said it was the thermopile. They could send us another out in a few days but we didnt want to wait so we paid $50 for a new one we were able to locate at a hardware store. Nobody sells these! We replaced the thermopile but no results... Pilot will not stay lit. Called Whirlpool back and they said to hit the reset button which we did. Called a technician (several) which wouldnt touch the heater. Said nobody works on these because they are riddled with issues. I pleaded with him to test it which he did. He said the control box is out! He said to cut our losses and buy a new one! I am so very upset! I cant afford another one! We called Whirlpool back again to see what they would say this time - they are sending us another control box! After reading all of the complaints and being without hot water, I am not hopeful of a good result! I plan on replacing the control box that they send and then saving for a new heater! I want my money back which Ive heard just wont happen! I have also had nothing but issues with my gas stove made by Whirlpool ever since it was only 6 months old. STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!! Run!!!

I got a new Whirlpool washing machine and dryer last year and Im very happy with both. I like the fact that it offers a quick cycle if you have a small load or need something quickly. If youre debating on what brand of washing machine you should buy I highly recommend Whirlpool or the other brands because Ive had really good luck with mine.

The American Standard 95% 2 stage variable furnace is by far my favorite furnace to install. I know exactly what to expect from this furnace and I have had zero factory issues with this model. Outside of making a few sheet metal transitions this American Standard standard 95% furnace was very easy to install as well. And like the 2 stage variable … no factory issues.

Love the bottom freezer & french doors. Unit uses way less energy than older fridge. Did need a new evaporator but it was covered by a recall. Happy so far. Love having icemaker in the door so it doesnt take up freezer space.

I count myself as lucky... my Whirlpool 465 Accubake Ceramic Cooktop stove was given to me. I have used it for 3 years. One day, out of the blue, the oven, which was in use, started clanging loud and jumping up and down. I started screaming & tried to cut it off & it would not go off. I ran to the panel box & threw the breaker. It also burned my food that was cooking. It did it several times. Then I decided to not cut the light on or touch the button to raise the temp. It has not done it since. I bake everything on 350 degrees and immediately throw the breaker. I am scared of this stove and plan to replace it. I will NOT buy a Whirlpool, anything. (washer/dryer/fridge/aircon)....once bitten...

I had purchased this washer from Lowes last September and had problems almost immediately. First of all the lid would lock and hold my clothes hostage till it decided to reopen which could be days. Finally it never opened again. Called customer service and sent someone out. It took almost a month to get it back to running. 1 week for him to show up then 2 more weeks for the part to come in 1 more week for him to grace me with his presence again. Had to call again because the mother board then went. Another month. Now just out of warranty I go to wash and its dead. No lights on nothing. This machine is the biggest pile of garbage and waste of money I ever spent. Barely made it 1 year.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model WTW7340XW0 type 580 Serial C02770464 and a Whirlpool Cabrio Dryer Model WED7300XW0 Type DSSA-ELE-2406026-EL54 Ser M02717021 in 2010 for over $1,700. Included was a 3-yr anything goes wrong, well replace for free warranty. A month after the purchase, we lost our home and were forced to move. We put the new appliances in storage and they have been there ever since. From the day we purchased the washer, we never got a clean wash out of it. It seemed it used about a teaspoon of water. Clothes were never clean... We had many other problems at the time and both washer and dryer were put into storage.Today, the warranty has long expired and I happened to check on the ConsumerAffairs site to see if there were any comments regarding whirlpool Cabrio washers... WOW! 1600 negative comments and not one positive. Later, I realize we made a $1700 mistake. My question is do I have any recourse? Please advise.

The washer itself doesnt get the clothes clean. The clothes on top never get clean, they smell. It doesnt spin out the clothes evenly even though I put them in evenly. There is oil on my floor under the washer and Rent-A-Center doesnt care and its under their Benefits plus program. They were to send off both washer and dryer last time and had no paperwork where washer was sent off at all. It has ruined a lot of my clothes with spots and I used the Tide pods. Stopped using them cause they were not working. I will never buy another Whirlpool product or appliance. Water pump went out in one year... Why would you not care about your customers... Good Morning. We recently built a home with Pule in Nexton, which is located in Summerville, SC. The appliances we chose came with the dishwasher, stove and microwave. Everything other than the dishwasher has been doing great, but as for the dishwasher I am extremely upset...we are newly weds and received two nice sets of glass and at least 12 of them have been broken in the dishwasher. Please advice.

In 2011 we bought a Whirlpool Washer (WTW4950XW). We had a one year warranty. There have been problems ever since we bought it. Of course it is no longer under warranty. In the last few months we have encountered brown spots on clothing. The washer has always spent an inordinate amount of time Scanning. It does not matter how much I readjust the load. I ALWAYS must do an extra Spin and Drain. Sometimes Rinse and Drain helps...sometimes not. Sometimes the machine indicates it MIGHT be finished washing but only the clothing on the bottom of the load is damp. It does not rinse the soap out. Recently when I washed my husbands coat several times -- he had to finally hang it in the shower when he bathed to get the soap out.We had repairmen out once when we had the warranty. They said the drainage hose was wrong. We adjusted that. I called Whirlpool more than once about our problems. They said they could not help because we had no warranty. OK. One young lady said we could get a 5 year warranty for $353. For $499 we might get a machine without all the 747 dials and tweets and fewer government, EPA amenities. Whats wrong with this picture? My old washer lasted 30 years. We are very, very sorry we did not repair it. All I want is a washer that will provide me with clean clothing, towels, sheets and blankets in a timely manner. That does not seem to me to be too much to expect. I am considering a washboard! Or the shower for ALL my laundry! I am angry and frustrated. I always considered Whirlpool a good brand.

We have our stove for over five years and we have had no problems with it over the years. It has a black top and this seems like it is a little harder to clean, but other from that we have had no problems with either stove or oven.

This is a portable dishwasher with a butcher block top. Great to use as a rolling island countertop. The capacity is huge, fitting large pasta pots and dutch ovens with ease along with dish plates. Love the water miser setting and the no heat dry to protect delicate material like china dishware.

I purchased this WRX988SIBM01 refrigerator new at Lowes 23 months ago. The freezer evaporator failed with estimated repair costs of $600 on a unit that cost $2400. The authorized repair person indicated that the failed part was a recalled item on the three door models. Mine is the four door model but has the same evap model. When contacting Whirlpool about covering some of this cost, they denied the issue and offered no assistance. This was after hours spent trying to get through. They do not return phone calls. I will never purchased another Whirlpool or related company product again. The quality is subpar and I hope my post prevents others from buying their shoddy products. Made in America doesnt mean what it used to.

Whirpool Cabrio Washer - Do not buy this washer. Clothes are not clean. They are twisted with residue still trapped in the wadded up mess. Even if you select deep water clean, your clothes will still have the same dirty marks on them as when they went in. Also, there is no spin cycle. If youve got a bunch of wet towels you just want to spin the water out, you can forget it. You will have to do a complete wash. And the 1 star is not even appropriate but there is no choice of a big fat zero. Wasted a lot of money on this when Ive had great luck with Kenmore.

I find this to have perfect storage space both in the top for standard refrigerator and the bottom freezer. I would recommend this not for the style, the amount of room but also the quality. I have not been disappointed.

We moved into a new home in December. We purchased the home too late to choose our appliances or upgrade over what they install. From the start the oven has been aggravating in both the noise that it emits and the variance in actual temperature. We have had the Appliance Service out twice for these ovens. We are told that the noise which sounds like a wind tunnel is normal. It is there to keep the circuit board cool especially during the cleaning process. The noise is quite aggravating and is amplified throughout our open floor plan to all parts of the house.The temperature variance has been calibrated to be more accurate, but Im not convinced it is on the right temperature yet. I continue to give it a try, but Im not sure if the noise of the fan in the oven is making me feel negative towards using the oven at any time. We hate to have to replace these new units with another set of double ovens, but I doubt if I can continue with this noise much longer. It will definitely not be a Whirlpool or KitchenAid double oven of any sort.

Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer. Purchased date was 1/09/10 and I paid $629.00. It failed in 7/1/11 and got a service call for $60.00. The result of service call: Bearing shot and crank shaft broke. Im very disappointed. Whirlpool should be liable for the malfunction of their product. Whirlpool was contacted and they were sorry that there is nothing they can do.

Bought a standard 18 cubic foot top mount Whirlpool when moving into my first apt. The refrigerator cost a little over $500.00, is spacious and energy efficient. No ice and water in doors and no chip boards for any controls but still working perfectly. It is now 30 years old and never even serviced. When buying appliances get basic, do the job units and nothing with chip boards. They are still sold today and the fridge I have costs less now.

So after having the old white standby refrigerator and stove from the late 1970s, I figured it was time to upgrade. I have had theses appliance for TWO MONTHS! And they are starting to rust! I dont want to complain, I want a solution. Is there a law suit or advocacy to get our money back? I even bought the 5 year warranty, but found out that it is considered cosmetic!

We purchased the Cabrio washer & dryer with 6th Sense technology in 6/2007. What a mistake it has been. We have had 3 F1 error codes that a repairman has had to come fix all about a year and half apart. It makes crazy loud sounds if it decides to actually spin in the final spin cycle. It normally does not spin. It just always flashes UL for unbalanced load. We are extremely dissatisfied with this set. The dryer heating element has gone out also. We just purchased a new part. Prior to this, we had a hand me down washer & dryer that worked excellent. We regret getting rid of them, and now need to purchase a new washer & dryer. Whirlpool ought to stand behind its products and get this fixed.

The Whirlpool side-by-side had the space and durability we had hoped for in the price range we shopped in. It lasted longer than the refrigerator it replaced.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - We purchased the (best name brand) from Get It Now and all we ever had was problems. We will fill the washer 1/2 full of clothes and the clothes on top would not even get wet. So we have to do it again, to make sure the rest of the clothes were washed. Many times there was white smudge marks on the clothes, sorta like powder (we use only liquid soap that you recommend). Today I washed a child’s bedspread for the 4th time because the stains would not come out (from a cookie). I had to turn the bedspread twice just to get it wet. I used bulk load and heavy duty load and it doesnt work. Your product is a very big disappointment for the price a person has to pay. I will recommend that no one purchase this product. Your people need to do further research on who this machine cleans clothes.

Have to keep coins collecting in pump and ruins pump or starts leaking. I feel there is another way it could be solved. I spent enough for this washer. Now I fix that. Now it leaks on discharge hose. Hard to stop it. Like old washer worked lot better all round. Never had that trouble. 4yrs old 1,200.00 plus cost sending somebody out to fix it. Crazy! This happen more than one time with this machine. Thank you.

It looks like I have the exact same problem as everyone else. Purchased an Energy Smart Whirlpool water heater at Lowe’s. Now I need a new controller. Hope they send me the non-catching fire type of controller.I am going to predict that the company will provide a response that says something like” “Hey, we really want to help you get your hot water back! Just contact us privately so we can discuss this without everyone being able to see what we tell you to do.” So far we are just out of hot water while we went through their diagnostics. They told me that this often happens and the best way to fix it is to let the hot water run in the shower for 20 minutes, then hold down the reset button on the controller for 5 seconds, and do that every time I experience this problem. I hope mine doesnt catch fire. Fire is bad.

Purchased double range ovens. Enamel is flaking off within 2 years. Whirlpool denies defect. They wont replace it. Any other folks with similar problems? What can I do to have it replaced? I remember the old ovens and how the enamel just stayed and stayed and stayed. Never a rust or flaking issue in those old time models. Any expertise on how the enameling process may be compromised in the newer manufacturing process (cutting corners or costs). Any options for a class action here if a commonly experienced occurrence? If similar experience drops comments/review below as a one liner - just state enamel defect. That way can figure out the number of folks with issues. Id like to take action if given the opportunity, and more so if this is a common occurrence. Lawyers are costly for one-off complaints, but there is power in numbers (think United Airlines).

I purchased a washing machine FS65 on 10-30-2005. In Oct. 2009, my washing machine developed some fault so I contacted the Whirlpool service center and got it repaired. Again in Dec. 2010, the appliance became faulty and so I contacted the service engineer to attend to the machine. He repaired it and I paid 2500/-. But the very next day, my appliance showed the faults again. It was rectified with replacement of PCB and I was charged 2786/- on 01-20-2011. Again on 09-04-2011, the machine became defective. On the call to service center on 09-05-2011 and attended by engineer on 09-06-2011, I was informed that PCB is defective. I failed to understand that the PCB replaced in January was of what quality that it has to be replaced now after such a short span of time. I feel that this is clear cheating with me.

I have been TRYING replace a damaged panel on a $10,000.00 Jenn-Air refrigerator for over 10 months now!! Whirlpool is the supplier of Jenn-Air - I have probably spent at least 3 HOURS on the phone talking with one rep after another who ASSURES me they will deal with my problem!! Last week I gave my credit card # to the rep - who told me my part was sitting there, waiting for my # to be shipped. When I asked why no one had called me to let me know, especially considering the amount of time I have been waiting - she said she didnt know. One week later, I call AGAIN to find out why my credit card does not show the payment. Only this time to talk to a fellow who says my part is still on backorder, and they used my card # to put a $1.00 charge against it - to hold it for when my part arrives.. BUT has NO IDEA when that may be! I feel Angry, totally discouraged, lied to, and used! I will NEVER purchase any appliances under the Whirlpool affiliate. This is abhorrent customer service - a $10,000.00 appliance and this is how it is dealt with!!! Bad, very bad!!

I bought a new Whirlpool Top Load Washer four years ago and the paint was peeling off. I called Whirlpool and they offered to sell me a touch-up paint because it was out of warranty. I will never buy one of their products again.

I bought Whirlpool top-loading high-efficiency low-water washer Sept 2018, model WTW5000DW, Serial # C83444466. Worst washing machine ever! No matter which water level you choose, it will not dispense enough water to cover the top of the clothes load, therefore the clothes are just moved from side to side with only the bottom layer of clothes getting wet; top clothes stay dry. Not enough water to fully agitate to clean the clothes!Whirlpool serviceman came today (Jan 13, 2020) to recalibrate the settings. VERY NICE MAN BUT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO TO SOLVE THE LOW WATER LEVEL. Recalibrating settings did nothing to solve the problem of not enough water. I am 81 years old and I have to manually add at least 4 buckets of water to an average load of clothes. This is unacceptable. Wont someone please initiate a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool for selling this very obvious poorly designed machine? NEVER EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE. It is a waste of money.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7340XW2 washer approx 2 years ago. The machine runs so loud on the spin cycle you cant have a phone conversation or hear the TV over it and is leaking grease from the bottom. My mistake to not purchase the extended warranty but you would think a machine would last more than 2 years. I contacted Whirlpool online and by mail and they do not stand behind their product. I did contact a local repair shop and by our phone conversation was told it would be approx 300-350 to fix it and Im not putting that kind of money into a repair. Just want to let consumers know this machine is junk and spend your money on quality appliances, not Whirljunkpool.

Bought Cabrio 3 years ago, started getting ul code and f1 code. We leveled machine, but cycle kept getting stuck mid-cycle. Called repair guy, they say it is going to cost between 6 to 800.00 to fix???? Really. Its three bloody years old. Very disappointed. Do I now get it fixed or break down and buy another washer. I would not buy Whirlpool again. Very pissed.UPDATED ON 02/05/2015: We called an appliance repair company and initially paid $440.00. After installing a motherboard computer system, it still did not work. We were then told that the other part would be another $120.00. We were already soaked for $440.00 so we decided to pay. After that was repaired the washing machine was still stalling mid cycle. We were then told that it has something to do with the wiring and it would cost another $120.00-$140.00. Needless to say, we declined. Complained to whirlpool that machine was three years old. We are pissed and $570.00 out of pocket. Just bought a lg front loader and paid for a 5 year warranty!!

We bought this combo at Lowes and was looking forward to their arrival. Unfortunately, we have had so many problems with both appliances. The washer is constantly having an error and we can only wash clothes on the quick wash cycle or else it will shake like crazy, get an error, and stop. We had the washer a little over a year when we had someone come look at it. We were told there is something wrong with the load sensor and it was going to be $350 to fix it. As for the dryer it will dry for a little bit and completely stop (no error) and restart later on by itself. I have been a devoted Whirlpool customer but not after this. I thought it was only us having these problems but obviously not. They have discontinued this set. No recall... ridiculous.

My Whirlpool is almost 20 yrs now and we thought we were going to have to get a new one! New ones aren’t equipped with what mine has so after much investigating we decided to try a water inlet part for $35 delivered and oh to our surprise it is still performing like new. Bought a $2500.00 fridge in Dec. 2012. By July, we were dealing with our 4th repair. Customer service in warranty department is non-existent. They act like you are a bother and have no right to demand replacement. I sent an email. No response. I wrote a letter to Corporate. No response. Not until I made comments on Facebook. Then I get a call offering me an extended warranty (which I already had purchased) so they said they would give another year (total of 3). This was a few weeks ago. I still have yet to receive anything or hear anything. This morning, our fridge is on the fritz again. I am loathe to have to deal with them again, but have no choice. Its either deal with them or throw out the 8 month old unit and buy something else. I should not even have to consider that. Whirlpool is a huge company. I do not understand their reluctance to just replace a product that is obviously defective unless they have no confidence in a replacement unit. This is so frustrating and upsetting to me. I did my research. I thought I was getting a quality product from a quality company. What a disappointment.

We purchased Whirlpool Gold appliances because we thought that they had an excellent reputation? Wrong! Our Whirlpool refrigerator lining started cracking before the unit was 3 years old. Now its 7 years & cracks are so deep and there are so many of them, the refrigerator must be replaced. No help from Whirlpool when I called. Now remember, a refrigerator is supposed to last 14-17 years. 7 years is not acceptable!This is a known problem. If you Google refrigerator liner cracks Whirlpool youll see many of them. Unfortunately, Whirlpool will not accept responsibility for faulty design/manufacturing which leaves the consumer to be out of their hard-earned money. Before you ever buy a Whirlpool product, read the reviews and decide if Whirlpool not standing behind their products makes it worth it for you to buy them. I certainly dont recommend them! I also wish to tell you that a major crack was around the light housing and Whirlpool placed the light cover over it where it was concealed to the buyer. Youd never know it until the light cover would be removed for cleaning. Which wasnt easy to do since Whirlpool installed it with 2 sided sticky glue foam tape. Now thats really scum behavior!

We bought a house almost 10 years ago and it included a Maytag washer and dryer. About 5 years ago, we decided to buy the Whirlpool front loaders. What a mistake as the washer shook every time it ran. After several warranty service calls and days of vacation waiting for the service, they finally said they couldnt do anything. During that time I had been in contact with Whirlpool and asked for them to take them back. Of course they wouldnt. I asked for a swap for top load washer and they would need to also replace the dryer to match: still no deal. It took a letter from a lawyer to make it happen. They also bought back the washer and dryer stands which covered the lawyers costs.So shortly after I received the Cabrio washer and matching dryer, the lid is very heavy which I believe the lid spring broke. I refused to call the service company as I did not want to go thru that crap again. I also know I can fix it myself easier and without all the drama. I keep waiting for another failure but so far all is acceptable. Whirlpool is not the same company as they were when I made my living doing warranty service for Whirlpool! 30 years ago they were the best in the industry.The Maytag pair was giving to our relative and they are still working flawlessly. Unfortunately Whirlpool now owns Maytag. This experience has cost Whirlpool replacing our kitchen appliances. As much as I want to buy American, I will go with Bosch or LG only.

We have never had problems with our old Kenmore appliances. Since we have had the Whirlpool complete set we have had problems with both the Refrigerator and now the Stove. The fridge had already been re-engineered by the time the repair man got here but the fix didnt work. We had a 50 degree refrigerator for over a month. Now the stove wont keep a constant temperature so we wait for the service man once again. They look beautiful but they are the worst we have owned over our 36 years. They obviously have engineering issues looking at all the other reviews. I dont see us purchasing another Whirlpool appliance in the future.

The Whirlpool duet front loading washing machine came with our new house five years ago. That machine has destroyed multiple clothing items including very expensive sweaters and undergarments. It has destroyed biking shorts and just about anything of value. Even destroyed the bags fur delicate clothing. I have to get a repair guy out every year to replace the bellow too! It is terrible!!!

Absolutely the worst hot water heater I have ever owned. Broke within first year which Whirlpool sent me a replacement valve assy which I had to install myself. That one failed in 3 month and unit was out of warranty so I received no help from Whirlpool. Had a serviceman fix it again and it failed again. So I ended trashing the unit. I would not buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live. The last 5 appliances I purchased from Whirlpool all failed within a few months after warranty expired. This is no joke. Everything they sell is farmed out to other countries than the US and the workmanship and quality is the worst I have ever seen. The service people are nice when they tell you that they cant help you with your problem. Dont waste another dime on Whirlpool! Very bad product.

Purchased the refrigerator in May 2018 from Lowes. August of 2019 the compressor stopped working and I lost all of my food. Repairman came out and stated that the compressor was bad on a brand new refrigerator. I am now waiting for a new compressor to arrive.

I purchased Whirlpool gas range with AquaLift Self Cleaning Tech exactly a year ago. DOES NOT WORK!!! The only Self that cleans will be you on your hands and knees. Still dont know what to use. Manual says do not use oven cleaner or abrasive or you void the warranty. Ok Whirlpool any suggestions? Soap and mild detergent not cutting it. You would think with all the customers complaining about this feature the bright engineers that designed this would come up with a solution.

We purchased the largest Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (over $1100 value) 3.5 years ago, and had nothing but trouble out of it. The drum has had to be replaced twice, the motor once, and then supposedly a bolt kept coming off on the drum as well, that had to be tightened twice. Now, we dont know what is wrong with it - we suspect suspension imbalance or something, because this extra large capacity washer is constantly unbalanced even with 6 articles of fabric in it now, and I dont even think about putting even what would be considered a medium-large load in it, because it flat up will not wash. You can put a level on it, and it shows leveled, but it still wont operate worth anything. My wife is so put out by it at this point that she has even talked about getting an old ringer washer (seriously). Sears keeps coming out here because we had purchased the extended warranty and truly if they had simply replaced the washer after the 2nd trip to the house, they would have more than paid for the replacement washer even. Instead, they keep coming, looking at it, then having to order parts, and then come back a couple weeks later to put the shipped parts (which sit around our house), back in to repair it each time. All the while, we go without a washer or barely can wash any clothes. We have even taken clothes to the laundromat during one of the repair instances, because we cant just have mounds of clothes piled up for their month-long service. It is ridiculous how little it seems that Sears and Whirlpool care about their customers. I have gone to Whirlpool and Sears Home Services sites and complained at both. I have called both of their 800 lines in the past and again, this yielded nothing to truly depict either company cares. It just goes to prove that customer satisfaction is far less valuable to either of these companies than the bottom dollar profits in our opinion. I dont know where else to post our concerns/frustrations, so anyone can see how put out these two companies have caused us and dont care, but if anyone knows of anywhere else I can post blogged concerns, please let me know.I have complained previously about a dishwasher that we had purchased that we had numerous issues with. Those complaints fell on deaf ears to Whirlpool and really Sears as well. I dont think all the washers are duds, but this one has been nothing but trouble, and Sears wont just replace it, Whirlpool dont care. I have been given the runaround that it is because there arent three (3) service calls in a 12-month period for the exact same issue. Well, I am sorry that it doesnt appear to be just one thing! I have had it with these services calls, parts having to be ordered, only to hit the crazy repeat button again every time! I purchased a Cabrio top-loading high efficiency low water washer thinking I was doing something for the environment by saving on water and electricity. After about a month, I noticed that my clothes especially those with stretchable fabric were getting larger. My husband kept telling me I was imagining it. Then the clothes would get all tangled especially the pants with ties on the waistband. At the end of the cycle, the clothes are stuck on the sides of the washer and I have to pull them apart. Even after drying, I have to iron everything even my pillowcases which look like they have shrunk they are so wrinkled. I recently bought some 100% cotton outfits and they are even more wrinkled and are starting to lose their shape. I am now noticing that the stains on the clothing are not coming out even when I use a spot remover and put them through a second time.Now I started to notice an odor coming from the machine and my towels and wash clothes have a sour smell. I paid $600 for this machine and after reading the reviews, I just want to replace it. I am now waiting for it to break down. My husband kept insisting I must be doing something wrong. When it goes into the spin cycle, it bounces all around and I have to push it back in place when it is done. I do not think the clothes are getting rinsed enough so now I put them through a second rinse and always put it on low spin. It doesnt see to matter, it sounds like a rocket ready to take off. Is it even worth it to go back to Lowes where I buy all my appliances?

When doing any cooking on this range, there are ALWAYS brown or black marks on the white enamel. When I try to clean it using the methods recommended by Whirlpool, they will not come off and the top looks terrible. Using stronger things to clean it removes the finish. They state its not covered under warranty - I will not ever buy Whirlpool again... EVER! Buyer beware! Model #wfg510s0aw2.

The oven was brand new and the computer went out with the warranty. Replacing the computer, with labor, was as expensive as the range. I have owned several similar ranges made by other brands and have had no major complaints. However, I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again!

I have had my Cabrio set for two years only and the washer has a error code of F6 and E3... pretty much does not work properly and need to swap out main control board which is about 200-300 for the part. I’m very disappointed in this product for as much I have spent on it. My old school top loader lasted longer than this piece of junk! I believe the steam from the wash is going up into the control board and messing it all up! Water and electricity does not mix! Maybe they need to relook at their products. I want my money back!!!

I bought the Whirlpool French 4 door fridge WRX988SIBM 01. I like the way it stores and layout (other than the icemaker taking the entire left door out). But I got a lemon, I bought the Lowes 5 year warranty (with the 4 repairs replacement). The fourth repair and dead declaration was 5 years and a week (so just out of Lowes extended warranty by a week). The Death Certificate repair guy said they dont make em like they used to. So I am now buying another fridge - trying Samsung this time. Every fridge has a lemon once in awhile and with my luck... Well you can thank me for taking it off your hands! :) I am averaging 5 years per fridge. Thats a lot of money and I expect to get at least 10 years life on a major appliance.

I have a combo Microwave oven/oven GMC275PDS07. When the microwave is finished with the requested program, the end of program chime lets you know its done. Then, if the door is not opened for at least 3 seconds, the chime will ring again every minute thereafter ad nauseum. This will go on for hours without end. I know because I tried it. I reached out to Whirlpool via a web chat and my question was not even addressed. I was ignored. From reading other submissions, I assume this is de rigueur for Whirlpool. I then called Whirlpool and spoke to Katie in Tennessee. She was not able to bring up any make or model when I provided her the numbers exactly as listed on the inside of the door. She was not able to provide any respite from this annoying feature.This a Whirlpool Gold model, presumably the top of the line, in my book I will never purchase any Whirlpool product of any type and I will make it a point to let anyone who will listen that Whirlpool is not a manufacturer that takes its customers concerns seriously. Katie then advised that she looked up this feature and told me there is no way to turn the beeping off. I find this amusing since she could not find the model or serial number when I gave it to her.

I bought a Kitchenaid dishwasher (It is owned by Whirlpool) from Trail Appliances. After 11 month the machine didnt work. It was under warranty. It took more than two months that they sent a technician to fix it. Less than one week after repair it broke again, same problem. Now we have to wait for another two weeks for technician to come. It is tough for us without dishwasher for such a long time. I learned Whirlpool is not a reliable company and I will never purchase products from this company any more.
