A couple years ago we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8000 top-load, high-capacity, washing machine based upon good claims of the salesman at Lowes - Appliance Dept. This was not an inexpensive machine. However, this washing machine failed to live up to representations and performance is poor. However, biggest complaint is that clothes are able to get stuck between drum and the unique agitating device which results in holes and tears in material. This is a significant design flaw and were not sure why more people dont complain about this rather significant design flaw. Of course, there are other shortcomings... but destruction of clothes is a serious problem. While this machine is in excellent condition, it will be replaced with a more traditional washing machine with vertical agitator ASAP.

Whirlpool Gold with bottom freezer, had it for about eight years and no problems. Great seal and great storage space. Also plenty of space in the freezer. We are a family of four. It is extremely quiet. There is flexibility as to how to mount the shelves and they are easy to clean. I have never had any spoilage.

I bought an electric range at Lowes. The oven stopped working after 10 months, which means it is still under warranty. A repairman came out twice and put in new parts. He said all had been replaced that could be replaced. I will call him again and see if he can do anymore. I dont think I will buy from Lowe’s anymore and certainly not a Whirlpool.

I purchased my new washing machine in September 2011. When I removed the clothes from the washer after the first wash, I noticed that there was soap on several of the items. I ran them through another rinse and spin cycle, and there was still soap on several items. In an effort to avoid this problem, I no longer use the soap dispenser tray, and use the bulky cycle to get more water in the tub. Like most of the others, the clothes are tangled and stretched from one side of the tub to the other. Also, it takes 1 hour and 36 minutes to run a complete cycle. The manager of Sears tells me, that because of government regulations, that in a few years, you will not be able to buy any other type of washer. I purchased this machine, because it was highly recommended by Consumers Report magazine. I filed a complaint with them eight days ago, but have not had a response.

My Whirlpool Cabrio Washer is a bucket of junk. I bought the washer in about 2008. I was smart and bought the warranty for approximately 3 years. Since I bought it, I have had them replace 3 water pumps, the tub, the computer, and it still knocks and shakes. It also leaves small frayed holes in my beach towels. This machine should be recalled. It needed a warranty from day one. Washer cost $1,000 warranty every year $130.00 per year which covered the repairs at about $900.00 for repairs. I hate it. I just hate it. I can’t stand it anymore. I need a new washer, someone has got to listen.

Brand new box so I bought some meat and placed it in the freezer. Kept it cold or partly frozen but never froze solid. Every time it went into defrost so did the meat. Found meat juice running out of freezer. Called serviceman out 5 times. He told me every time it was fixed. Finally, after 3 months it was fixed. I had to throw out all my meat but of course Whirlpool would never cover any replacements. I will never buy a Whirlpool refrigerator again. If they dont have a Q.C. Dept better than that and sell seconds as first I couldnt trust the company the next time. So sad!

Within a few months after I purchased my gas hotwater heater, I started having problems with it not wanting to stay lit. It was purchased in 2004. I see that this is an ongoing thing with Whirlpool. Every time I would call them, they would give me stupid answers on what it could be. One lady got hateful with me. I have replaced every part several times and Im having problems. About every two to three months, Im replacing thermal couple. As of right now, Ive been without hot water for eight days. I called and he told me about a trip button that is in the little white thing that has wires going to the thermal couple. I push in on it and then tried to start my heater and it worked. They have never offered to replace it or even give me a discount on a new one. No one should be having so much trouble out of your hotwater tank. This is not normal. These are defective and should be recalled. This company is ripping the consumers off and we need to stick together on this and do something about it. Im afraid to buy another heater because I can see that the new ones are still junk. What do you do?

Wish we had gone online to check all the complaints otherwise we would have
Wish we had gone online to check all the complaints otherwise we would have NEVER bought a Whirlpool model #EB9FVHLVS. Only 3 years old. First repair call to fix a manufacturers faulty grommet manifested by leaking in the bottom freezer portion. Just outside the warranty - did not purchase extended. Now I know why retailers recommend the extended. My sister overheard the repairman call in the product to his contact at Platinum Appliance Service Inc., and he made direct reference to the model number in the category of Whirlpool products known to have this specific design flaw, and that the product was never recalled but customers were directed to purchase a repair kit to fix the problem. Apparently this became a very well documented and repeated incident within the 1-2 year purchase date of these products and models with the known factory installed defect were still sent out to retailers at a reduced cost with no reference, warning or attention to the factory defect. Now 4 months after the first call we have to call in for another repair issue because our light in both compartments and the motor shuts off for hours at a time. We lost about $80 in meat products, so now were afraid to keep any costly items in the freezer because we cant afford to replace a $100 of thawed products every week on top of groceries already bought!!! It seems as though Whirlpool is gleefully generating business for appliance repair while making more than one hole in the consumers wallet.

I felt compelled to write this review, to sum it up NEVER buy ANY Whirlpool, KitchenAid etc brand. Nothing but the worst experience, it all started with a 5 year old Whirlpool fridge that stopped cooling, I called and they said they could send someone for like 200$ and that it does not guarantee it will be fixed. So I called an independent and he tried to refill the freon, but it was leaking behind the fridge in a section you cannot access because they want you to buy another one, so 5 year old fridge in the garbage and now to top it off, a KitchenAid knife set that is barely used, one of the big knives broke cutting a fruit, and good luck in any circumstance getting any customer service. SO NEVER AGAIN, TRUST ME AND PUT YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE ON ANY OTHER COMPANY.

My KitchenAid side by side refrigerator/freezer is a beautiful thing, shiny
My KitchenAid side by side refrigerator/freezer is a beautiful thing, shiny steel surface, gleaming white inside. However, its made poorly. The ice cube maker compartment broke and the replacement came without any installation instructions. It was hard to figure out and I broke it. Now, everything in the refrigerator is freezing and changing the temperature on the digital panel makes no difference. McKinneys appliance, where I bought it, no longer has a refrigeration technician and they referred me to Whirlpools 1-800 number where I supplied some information and sat in my chair on hold listening to music for a half hour before hanging up.The recording on the phone suggested their online chat where I was asked the same sorts of questions and was told I would get the answers I wanted by paying $5.00. I had no idea what I was getting into but I didnt pay, just terminated that inquiry. Feeling cheated by the company whose product I had mistakenly purchased. Im now running the risk of a technician visit, sometime between 8 am and 4 pm a couple of days from now. I have to be prepared to wait around all day for somebody to look at my refrigerator, charge me a lot of money and, from what Ive read online, potentially see the problem return in a very short space of time.

In 2099, I purchased a Whirlpool Gold from Lowes. It has never cleaned my dishes, especially the pots and pans. My dishes also have a powder coating on them after various cleaning cycles that I have tried. I have tried every detergent available. The repairman suggested a detergent, which I already tried. He told me that the dishwasher uses only 1.9 gallons of water in total. That confirmed what I thought the problem was, not enough water! It is a design problem that cannot be fixed. I have bought Whirlpool for years but not in the future.

Purchased the Gold Series Dishwasher Model No: WDF730PAYM0 Serial No: F14403489 on Dec 2011, started using it from Jan 2012. All is good until June 2014. It started leaking from the bottom, called Whirlpool - the great bad company. Since it is not under warranty they asked to schedule an appointment with their local authorized rip off service company. Technician come on the service day and told me that it is $120.00 for the service call and Labor and parts are extra, first of all $120.00 to come to my house is first rip off, that is the reason Whirlpool on their website do not give any estimates on the service call. After checking the appliance he said main assembly is bad and needs to replace and that will cost more than the original purchase price - what a ripoff. He asked me to contact Whirlpool, they may help since this is the known issue with this model. Called Whirlpool and mentioned and they said it is too old to continue to operate so they cannot help. Ended up trashing the 2.5 year old dishwasher for the new GE dishwasher. Never buy a Whirlpool ever again even on sale. Whirlpool company is not ethical and not ready to help consumer, would love to see them close their operation in America.

In less than a year my gas range required a new knob because it froze in place. They covered that but not the 4 new knobs since. I must clarify, its not actually the knobs but the thing underneath that my husband has had to replace ever since to our expense and time. Also in less than a year the paint under the knobs totally fell off. We contacted them about that and the reply was paint wasnt covered under warranty. Obviously they used heat resistant paint on the range top because that is perfect condition even with the constant cleaning, but the angled front where the knobs are I had to sand and repaint, not a good look for the stove. They really couldnt have just used the heat resistant paint for 2 1/2 farther? Just horrible quality and worse service. I used to be devoted to Whirlpool but since buying my new refrigerator - Samsung 100 percent from now on!

I just bought my stove four years ago. Every time I want to bake something, I have to run a fan on my stove because it overheats and shows an F2 error message. I then have to unplug it, leave it unplugged for 20 or so minutes. Once it cools down, I can plug it back in and use it. I have to go through this every time I use the oven. Its annoying and I lose a lot of food because sometimes, it just wont work. Idk what to do!

My new Tridel Condo came with a brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer and the washer has not been working well since the beginning. After several service calls the repairman finally gave up and now were getting a new replacement. However its been a nightmare working with them trying to get this washer replaced. The Whirlpool delivery team and the service team cant seem to coordinate a time together for the replacement. We had to make a first appointment for the service guy to uninstall the old unit, the second appt for the delivery guy to drop off the new unit and pick up the old and a 3rd appt to install the new unit. Each appt has a 4 hour wait window. This is their standard procedure, which is totally inconvenient to customers. To make matter worse, the delivery guy came too early for a condo delivery (before 9 AM) and told us he will be back the next day. And he didnt show up. It looks like now we actually have to have 5 appts (including the 2 missed appts by their delivery guy) to have the washer replaced. All the time I wasted waiting for this delivery is worth more than the washer itself. What would be 4 hours X 5 appts = 20 hours. This is the worst customer experience ever. After 3 months of constantly calling Whirlpool and still no washer. Whirlpool needs to hire some competent people who actually care about servicing their customers.

This is the worst washing machine Ive ever purchased. Bought 12/19. The water level never never goes up high enough, to cover the cloths. I have to add water no matter what setting. I hate that. The sensor isnt working. You arent able to adjust it yourself, its computerized. The water shuts off when you lift the lid so you cant rinse out the soap or fabric softener caps. I hate that. Certain brands of dishwashers made by Whirlpool, including Whirlpool, Kitchenaid and Kenmore, are a fire hazard. Most appeared to be made in the mid-00s. My Kenmore Elite, model# 665.16293400, bought in March 2006, started emitting a burning plastic smell. I removed the door panel and found where the control board wires have been overheating and melting the plastic liner inside the door.Further investigation led me to kitchenaidfire.com, which details the models involved and includes hundreds of reports of fires from these models. I also searched saferproducts.gov and also found over 100 reports of fires from these models. The report logs are growing rapidly as it appears most of the control boards start to malfunction about five years in.I called Sears and they said that Whirlpool needs to do a recall. I called Whirlpool and I was told that they do not make Kenmore dishwashers, only some parts. This is completely false. I couldnt believe the representative was told to tell me that besides the part that is failing is stamped Whirlpool. These Whirpool-made dishwashers are a documented fire hazard and need to be recalled. I do not know what it takes, hundreds of fire reports have been logged and they are rapidly growing, but I hope that it doesnt take someone to be killed before they are recalled.

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7340XW washer is a piece of junk! I have had issues since the day I bought it and havent even had some of the failed parts that other people are talking about. It does not save water. I went from 5000 gal to 13000 gal in one month! It doesnt wash clothes. Everything comes out with the same spots they went in with and then some. Light colors come out with what looks like grease spots and whites come out with black spots. I have had it five months and have used six of the monthly cleaning tabs. Clothes get tangled and torn because of the speed of the spin cycle even on delicate. This unit needs to be recalled and redesigned or customers should be offered a different washer of their choice within the price range of this unit.

We got a french door Whirlpool refrigerator about 15 months ago. Model Wrf757sdem01. There were problems from day one. Serviced about 6 times by 3 different companies... Died again less than 2 weeks ago. Finally the store decided to replace it. Was under an extended warranty. We have been without a fridge for over 10 days. It has caused multiple problems for us as we are out in the country. We have to haul ice to 4 coolers... Wait on the new one (a Whirlpool). Plumber had to be called in and he has had 3 of this same model replaced! Years ago you could trust Whirlpool. Now apparently not. I hope we do not have to regret our replacement one which still is not installed! By the way the water filters have to be replaced to the tune of 100.00 a year. We are not going to use an icemaker or get water from the new one.

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine (new) in 2004. From the beginning, I had problems with the spin cycle. I phoned Whirlpool. I paid for service with no reimbursement. With the costs I have had for service, I could have purchased 2 machines. I have had to go to Laundromat to do wash then come home to dry. I have for 30 years only purchased Whirlpool large appliance. My washer and dryer were always refurbished but they were Whirlpool. I have had a (refurbished) Whirlpool dryer since 1997 with one (1) service call. However, this wash machine, purchased new, has been a money pit and a piece of trash with Whirlpool only giving lip service when calling. Also, going to the Laundromat, I have been amazed at how many individuals I speak with are there doing wash because their Whirlpool washer, mostly even newer models than mine, do not work! And they have the same story. There’s no service when you call. Shameful Whirlpool! Buy your parts from us. Maybe your credibility could be restored. But I will never purchase your Whirlpool or other names under Whirlpool! When I do get another washer, yours will be put on my front lawn with a large sign of your disgraceful products and service!

After only 14 months of light use, the magnetron in my over-the-range Whirlpool stainless steel microwave failed. The cost to repair was $350. I paid $450 for the whole unit upon purchase. I wrote to Whirlpool with documentation and got a voicemail that they were sorry, but the 12-month warranty had expired. The independent repair person said it is the Korean manufacturer of the magnetron that is the problem. He is replacing units all over town on all kinds of models Whirlpool is involved with, including KitchenAid. Whirlpool needs to get their money back from Korea! Purchased this Dishwasher on Feb. 28, 2015. In June 2016 about a 2 by 3 inch section of the enamel face on the door rusted and fell off above the air vent. After three hours of hold time between Lowes (with the extended warranty) and Whirlpool (their warranty department) it was determined that this was not covered by either warranty as it was beyond the date of the 1-year mfg warranty and was not covered by the extended warranty (it was only a cosmetic issue). As these calls took place over a matter of 2 days, it was interesting that between day 1 and day 2, Whirlpool had issued a statement that no rust repairs would be covered under any warranty repair - regardless, unless it affects the functionality of the dishwasher. In other words, they KNOW this is an issue with this model and are doing nothing to fix the problem. I must say that the folks at Lowes were most helpful; cannot say the same for the folks at Whirlpool. I do not think I will trust their products again.

We have purchased 2 Whirlpool dishwashers in 4 years. The first one lasted almost three years and the second just past the warranty. The second one was a $500 dishwasher that we bought new. We filed a claim with Whirlpool and then had to set aside a whole day for the repair person to come. They spent about 10 minutes at our house, charged us $75 and didnt even attempt to look at the dishwasher or fix it. We have sunk almost $1000 into Whirlpool dishwashers since we bought our home 4 years ago. If you want to waste time and money go ahead and buy Whirlpool, otherwise learn from our mistake.

I bought a Whirlpool front loading washing machine 5 years ago, which has given me constant trouble. The computer on the machine is not working. When it is fixed, the machines makes extremely loud grinding noises and frequently the spinner does not work properly, leaving you with heavy sodden wet clothes. Whirlpools guarantee is very limited and customer service is unhelpful except to apologize for your horrible experience. You will have to pay for a technician to diagnose the problem. I will have to replace this costly machine after just 5 years of unreliable service. I would never buy a Whirlpool product again.

First of all, I want to thank all of you who took the time to write all your comments. You have helped educate me in many ways. For one thing, I had no idea that Whirlpool made such bad appliances, or at least water heaters. I pretty much grew up in a Whirlpool household. But that was a long time ago. Things change. Anyway, I too bought a Whirlpool from Lowes about four years ago. It was the top of the line 50 gallon energy saver, and it has had problems staying lit for the whole time I have owned it. Because I read your comments before contacting Whirlpool (this time), I knew exactly what to expect. And that is what I got at first--someone trying to sell me parts via shipping costs. I said no to that, and a rep called and offered to replace the unit, which is exactly what Whirlpool should have done for all of you. I am writing this out of courtesy for Whirlpool. They did the right thing for me, and I truly do appreciate that. On the other hand, Lowes wants $700 to deliver and install the new unit. I live seven miles from the store. They set my other water, the Whirlpool I purchased from them, up in my garage. It is extremely easy to get to, and it is all up to code. In other words, even though they sold me a defective product and profited from both the sale and the delivery, they now want to do it all over again by charging so much for the set up. They did not even offer to prorate the new install. Of course, I will hire and pay a certified plumber to do the job, but I am very sorry to lose Lowes. I have always enjoyed shopping there. Home Depot is just across the street, and even though I have learned not to purchase a water heater, or any major appliance there either, I will go there from now on. Losing my business might not worry Lowes a whole lot, but two years ago I bought $5,000 worth of fencing from them, and God knows how much over the years. If you and I and all the thousands of other unhappy customers would stop going there, they might feel a bit sorry for doing us all so dirty. Agreed? Thanks again, you guys.

Horrendous product! Purchased December 3, 2014 – had service technician from Whirlpool check the unit for excessive noise 3 months later. Technician said it’s the way it is designed – ice maker in door, air has to be forced up from freezer so it makes a lot of noise! Now, 15 months later, the refrigerator has totally quit. We are waiting for technician from Whirlpool. Obviously, no extended warranty so Whirlpool said they would extend the warranty and cover this visit for $357! How nice of them since they are sure the parts will exceed that amount!!! What a piece of trash – guess the refrigerator is only meant to work about a year! NO MORE WHIRLPOOL! I am thinking about standing outside of Home Depot to warn any customers who are looking for a refrigerator not to buy Whirlpool!Updated 3/23/2016 - To add to our previous review, the service company, AIG finally after 3 days has approved the parts required to fix our with less refrigerator (15 months old.) It will take 8-10 business days for the parts to appear! We have no refrigerator for at least two weeks! Great service from Home Depot and AIG!

I purchased their washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer, oven, and dishwasher. All were brand new when my home was built in 2006. Whirpool is the absolute worst home appliance company in both customer service and product. I would save my money and purchase any product other than a Whirlpool or Maytag. All of my appliances are a little over 5 years old and all have had multiple problems. Corporate takes the attitude of oh well, pay for the multiple repairs or buy new after 5 years or less. Ive never heard of disposable appliances, but Whirlpool has a full line of them! I would rate them less than 1 and just plain **!

Bought a Whirlpool refrigerator and now it is dead after only 3 years - the gas is gone. The Dealer at Budget Appliance Surrey told us it was not a good fridge to begin with (but sold it to us for $900.00) and that Whirlpool had made a lot of fridges cheaply to begin with... So it was not their (Budgets) fault. When I contacted Whirlpool they were really too big to listen to my complaint and even though I had the receipt, they did not care to hear my complaint either. Never buy a Whirlpool fridge.

The worst washing machine ever. First off you cannot turn the water on to let it fill and add clothes as its filling. Secondly the Normal setting will not allow you to spin on low, your choice is high or no spin. High tangles your pants, slacks, shirts, etc. No spin leaves them soaking wet. Also its a water safer but never, never, never covers the clothes in water, and sometimes they dont come out smelling so clean. I dont save water if I have to rewash two or three times. Absolutely hate this washing machine. When I get enough money I am going back to the old agitator model and not any Whirlpool either. Oh and the other thing, you cant just throw you clothes in the washer, you must arrange then to the outside of the center itty bitty agitator. Hate it.

This started Sept 27 2017 when the ordered online electric range 30 inch slide in oven Whirlpool brand was delivered. When using the oven, a noxious diesel smell filled my home, despite multiple attempts to burn in the unit as advised. 10 days later after still trying to burn it in fumes got worse. I called corp who then sent over a tech to look at it and the tech shared with me when he arrived that he was the wrong person since he cant smell due to an old injury! He admitted he smelled a chemical when it first went on but it went away for him but might have went away due to is impaired smelling ability. I called Corp back and they totally agreed something was wrong with it that could not be repaired and the unit should be picked up and I should be paid back that day it is picked up. They said in a few days which later turned in 2-3 weeks out and counting... I filed a complaint with the BBB due to the ongoing issues. Corp office said they would pick up unit and at that time hand deliver me my refund in full. At first the pick up was weeks out but after BBB was notified they came yesterday 10/18/17 and removed unit, but no check! I called Corp again this time asking why I did not get my money as they promised she said someone dropped the ball, and that someone should have told me that since they had to get someone non-local to get it that they will mail me the check in 14-21 days! She said I see in the notes. They told you they would hand deliver you your refund so they should have called you about the change. So here I sit... No oven in use since Sept 18 and no money back to buy one for weeks yet. I have never been told, despite my requests as to what the chemical was that I was burning off in my home and exposed my family to over 10 days which we had headaches and nausea from (despite windows opened and fans going at full blast). Only that it might have come from the manufacturer or process. This company isnt the only one who has had issues on occasion with a defect in this never-ending chemical smell but the lack of regard of my safety concerns and failure to stand up to what they offered to do (poorly handled response) is simply wrong and bad business. I have not dealt with Whirlpool regarding matters ever and have very little of their products in my home so unsure if this is unique or standard with them. I wont buy their products anymore because I am less than very dissatisfied with my experience. I may have been the only unlucky person having this kind of response from this company but felt the need to share.

They replaced the main board and the problem has continued. This has been as intermittent problem with the burning smell. We experienced it this week really bad! I thought the machine was on fire. We called the repair company and they said they had fixed the problem. My husband called the Whirpool number and they said they would NOT do anything to help us. We are trying to get help from Lowes where we bought the washer. I am terribly afraid to use the machine. This model needs to be discontinued.. We bought this machine 5-07-12. If we dont get some help, we are going to our lawyer.

On August 16, 2016 I received delivery of an Whirlpool under counter refrigerator that I ordered online from Home Depot. Model # WUR50X24EM. Five months later, on January 10, 2017, it stopped working, I called Whirlpool for repair. They referred me to their service company, I called the service company the same day. They had a repairman out on the following Tuesday, 1/17/17. The repairman said that he will need to contact Whirlpool to order a part. Whirlpool sent him the wrong part. After numerous phone calls no one from Whirlpool could figure out the correct part number. The repairman kept sending over pictures and information on the correct part, but this all went nowhere with Whirlpool. On 2/7/17, I called and started yelling. I had been very patient up to this point. I was finally offered by Whirlpool a parts research to determine exactly which part was needed. Plus a $50 Visa card to appease me. At this point, its been four weeks without a refrigerator and no one from Whirlpool has put any effort towards trying to figure out the correct part. On 2/16/17, I called Whirlpool again to find out if they had found the correct part. They told me that the new part had been sent to the service company and Whirlpool scheduled me an appointment right then for Monday, 2/20/17.So today is 2/20/17, the repairman came and went, Whirlpool once again failed, they lied because the repairman came out with the wrong part that was originally sent to him when he ordered the part back on 1/17/17. I called Whirlpool and asked for a manager. They connected me with the Resolution Specialist. I told her everything and pointed out that it has been six weeks without a refrigerator. She said she will take care of it and get the right part ordered. I asked her how long I should have to wait, cause at this point I have waited long enough. She said she will have an answer by the end of this week. I dont believe her, I feel as though Whirlpool is pacifying me. I dont understand why they cant order the correct part.I have no faith in Whirlpool that they will do the right thing or have any understanding on how inconvenienced they have made me. I have no faith to the point that I ordered another refrigerator from a different manufacturer. It will be here tomorrow between 8am-12pm. Oh, and Home Depot, they washed their hands of this a long time ago. And, I have yet to see the $50 Visa Card.

Whirlpool is the manufacturer of most appliances including the Kenmore dishwasher. Your products are made horribly for the mother board to go out in 2 years is ridiculous. I purchased a stainless steel dishwasher from Sears in August of 2014. 2 weeks ago I received error codes E2 and F2. A technician came out and the mother board needs replaced because water got into it... its a dishwasher. The cost to fix $465. I paid $673. The sales person informed me that I should have purchased the extended warranty because the appliances now only last a few years. Seriously... fleecing of America. This is my last purchase from Sears. We have bought appliances for 30 years from Sears and this is the end. They could care less about customer service or their products. Apparently everything is now made by Whirlpool who will also be getting a review. Shame on you for making poor products.

Whirlpool Refrigerator model #GI6FARXXY0 - Bought this refrigerator at Las Vegas Store #3305 Home Depot, 12/07/2012. July 2014, the ice maker stops working. I replace it with another Whirlpool ice maker and that one stops and leaks water from the dispenser all over my floor. Im on my 3rd ice maker and its not working! I have no warranty but still...a refrigerator should last longer than this at these prices. Im trying to research problems with this refrigerator and it looks like now the refrigerator model has been discontinued! Cant find anything on it. I paid close to $1,800.00 and it lasted 1 year 1/2? Its turning into a money pit. My question is... after looking at all of the complaints concerning ice makers and water leaks on Whirlpool refrigerators... why hasnt Whirlpool addressed this problem with a recall?? Obviously, these ice makers are faulty even the ones you replace them with. The repairman told me there are no warranties and they would not take returns on them. Whirlpool knows there is a problem and doesnt address it. Consumers should be protected from businesses that know of problems and refuse to take care of them with customers. They are still selling faulty Whirlpool ice makers??? I paid extra to have a working ice maker and expected it to last more than a year and half for the price of this French Door, bottom freezer, refrigerator did. The doors look terrible as they do not clean nicely and leave streaks. From the looks of some of these complaints, this may only be a beginning of problems with this appliance. Totally disappointed in this product. I know I wont be looking at any more Whirlpool products. Im disgusted with their faulty products and no accountability. If theres a recall, count me in!

I will keep this brief because many of our issues on our 18-month-old washer are in other reviews. The anger I feel towards Whirlpool Customer Service and the logic they use in providing repairs on a “goodwill” basis are unbelievable. After a Whirlpool certified appliance repair person diagnosed our fairly new washer as requiring the entire guts to be replaced... transmission, bucket, etc., we were told the repair bill would be over $1,300! Are you kidding me... the washer only cost in the mid $500 range, and now Whirlpool is going to do us a big favor and cover that outrageous bill! I told the customer service supervisor to please give us a new washer and take away our broken washer and use it for parts (if there any good parts left in this miserable machine). His reply “thats not going to happen”. He used this phrase to us at least 20 times during our service call until I finally told him I thought his attitude was aggressive and demeaning. I refuse to be bullied by a major manufacturer for a substandard product.I can only warn you when considering Whirlpool (and every major appliance in our two homes are Whirlpool) that you should use due diligence in your selection. We paid extra to upgrade all our Whirlpool appliances in our homes and I will never make that mistake again. And don’t get me started on the white film that covers my dark clothes. They say I use too much detergent... not true. I am not stupid and understand the HE requirement to cut way back on soap.

I bought model N40S61-403 gas water heater. I had it installed, and then I came to find out that you cannot common vent with another power vented unit. I contacted Whirlpool 3 times, and got no help, other then it was hooked up wrong. The issue I have is that the water heater’s pilot light puffs out when the furnace kicks on. These 2 items are common vented, in the installation guide. It does not say anything about common venting until page 11, and even then, it is not in bold or highlighted letters. Now the unit’s pilot light is going out without the furnace kicking on. Once again, I got no satisfaction from Whirlpool, other than it was hooked up wrong. I realize that I am the one who is ultimately responsible. Hopefully, they put something on the box, or earlier in the guide to warn novices, such as myself. As for Whirlpool, that will be the last product of theirs that I put in my home, and as soon as possible, I will be removing 3 other appliances during a kitchen remodel, and will replace them with a different brand.

Fits where the old Roper used to be and handles a full load of dishes with room to spare except Thanksgiving, which takes two loads. Smooth black front with touch buttons and blue lights. Looks nice. I bought a new Whirlpool French Door bottom-freezer refrigerator at Lowes in September 2010. I started seeing ice form in the bottom of the freezer compartment in July 2011. I cleaned it out, thought maybe the door had not sealed good. In a few weeks, it had formed again. I checked for leaks at ice maker. I noticed a condensate was also freezing on the back wall. I called Whirlpool in October 2011 to see what could be done, since the problem began before warranty had expired. (The warranty expired in September.) I was told by 3 different Whirlpool reps that they would not cover any of the costs of repair, but they suspected it was the auto defrost system and they would be glad to line up a repair person. Most of my appliances over the last twenty years have been Whirlpool, and I have had good service out of them other than a microwave that had a recall and that Whirlpool repaired. I was shocked that Whirlpool would not back up their product any better than this, especially since it is one of their higher-end models. Im not sure why Whirlpool has a customer service (or disservice) line to call. They were very uninterested in helping me. I can call my own repair person. I was insulted by the manner that the helpline personnel spoke to me. My experience has convinced me to try a different brand other than Whirlpool for all my future purchases.

Purchased WRF989SDAM00 French Door refrigerator in 2013, and 33 months later it is not cooling (fridge 45/freezer 36 degrees). Service call diagnosis is a leak in the sealed component area. Since it out of the 1 year warranty period, nothing is covered. This is the first of Whirlpools dual evaporator models, and is technically challenging according to the service technician. Most likely one or both evaporators are defective, and this type of failure comes with a recommendation to change out the compressor as well as it is moisture compromised. As my previous Kitchen Aids had 10 year sealed component warranties, and the Whirlpool is the same base mechanism as the Kitchen Aid, I contacted Whirlpool to see if they would extend my warranty coverage to these sealed components. Website submission - never got an answer. Called the customer service line - they politely told me they were sorry but there is nothing they can offer me. Even the extended service plan would not cover me as this refrigerator has a preexisting problem and it must be 100% operational to begin an extended service contract.Im extremely disappointed in this fridge only lasting 33 months, in comparison to my previous Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid refrigerators. Of course the internet just allows me to see that Im not alone is purchasing a short lived appliance. So here is my contribution to the internet of things: Do not purchase Whirlpool refrigerators expecting them to last much beyond the warranty period. Buyer beware.

When purchasing a new home, the almost new Whirlpool double-door ice-dispensing stainless steel refrigerator came with the kitchen. This beautiful-looking fridge worked well for close to three years, but gave up the ghost shortly after its warranty expired; designed obsolescence perhaps? Problem was, it would have cost almost as much to repair as it would have to purchase a new fridge with a warranty. So, thats what I did, via a local big-box store. I bought a single door floor model, with the Whirlpool ending up as scrap, the whole incident leaving a bad taste in my mouth. If you have your grandmothers old fridge that still runs, keep it!

Please contact me if a class action Lawsuit has been filed for I am one of those who spent close to 3,000.00 for a lemon and to get the runaround. I spent every penny I earned to buy a long lasting fridge (Whirlpool Gold Series) only to have a headache ever since I bought it. Only owning a year the freezer went out, yes I had to endure the loud noise, no ice. Then the thing would spoil my milk and ham making my stomach to be sick. The temp is 60•. The people that Whirlpool sends out are in cahoots. Told me my compressor is out and I just heard it kick on. We are currently using refrigerator we brought out of the travel trailer kitchen because this thing sucked out all my money.

I bought my Whirlpool refrigerator (Fresh door with Ice maker) from Best Buy in July 2017. By 2019 December the ice maker had stopped working and the refrigerator turns off / shuts down automatically. Have confirmed that the power is still on because of the display on the door. So it is not a power issue. Paid $180 for a Whirlpool authorized consultation and they said the Ice maker motor does has stopped working and the computer board needs to be repaired. This will cost me around $800. Called up customer service to see if the cost can be lowered but of course they said a NO. I am truly upset with the brand and with Customer Service for their lack of empathy.

She can use the oven to bake cookies in the afternoon and then try to bake dinner a couple of hours later and the oven will not preheat no matter how long she waits!! We purchased our washer approximately six months ago. It is an energy-efficient top loader without a central agitator. If I wanted a washer just for lingerie then I would be satisfied. But I need a washer that will clean farm clothes. My husband works hard and his clothes show it. This washer does not clean them. I even tried putting very few items in at a time. They still arent clean. I have to take my heavily soiled laundry to the laundromat. My other main complaint is the baffling feature of a lock mode. I spend countless minutes standing by my washer waiting for it to unlock so I can toss in an extra item or add fabric softener, etc. When we removed the latch, the washer didnt work at all. Replaced the item at a cost of $40. Infuriating!

We bought 2 Whirlpool refrigerators for our new home 5 years ago. The first ice maker died 2 years ago at 3 years old. The second has now died this month. We called the repairman in who told us that Whirlpool knew there was a problem with their ice makers, but because they did not cause fires, they were not recalled. We paid $480 later for items that should last at least 10 years, not 3-5 years. We will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance and neither will any our family. A company with this level of ethical behavior that knows they have a faulty piece of equipment and just chooses to do nothing does not warrant my business.

I bought in 2008 a Whirlpool Cabrio washer because it was the best. It cost me $900 plus 170 extended warranty for four years. This month, my washer showed an f1 code. I call the Maytag store and guess what, they are not there anymore. They closed the store. I called for my extended warranty and guess what, they are not with Maytag and they filed a chapter 7. So, I spent over $1000 in a machine that only worked three years and now I have to buy another just because no one wants to take the responsibility on the warranty. I have to pay another $300 to fix the problem and even doing that, theres no guarantee that it wont fail again. So, and this is to the people of Maytag and their cheats, you may take my money but you lose me as a customer forever. Thank you for nothing. I will keep that in mind next week when Ill be in the store buying another washer.

I have been so disappointed in this product. It is very noisy which is something I have learned to live with. It doesnt even get simple stains out. I have tried every load combination and change detergents and stain remover a couple of times. [Model WTW6300WW0, Type 580] A few years ago Whirlpool goofed - they left out the Perma-press cycle on a high-efficiency washing machine model. We noticed the absence of Perma-press (or Casual as it sometimes now called) on the shop floor, and were assured we could arrive at the same results with the dizzying array of buttons that allow the consumer to tailor the cycles to their wash load. It turns out that it doesnt allow this. Buttons are disabled on some of the cycles, thereby preventing recreating a Perma-press cycle. No amount of prodding... Whirlpool has provided me with an override for the combination of a normal wash and a gentle spin that comprise a typical Perma-press cycle. On contacting Whirlpool about the missing cycle, they claim consumers no longer want the Perma-press cycle. Puzzled by this statement, I returned to the showroom floor to see for myself. All the washers have Perma-press cycles. Whirlpool goofed with this model. They left it out. They have not provided a replacement machine for a consumer who blows this whistle on their goof. Among the solutions their customer support DID provide: add softeners to the rinse cycle and add dryer sheets to the dryer to reduce wrinkles [by purchasing a high-efficiency machine, we aimed to reduce waste, not increase it]. Among their invalid suggestions: choose the Casual cycle [there is no Casual cycle setting on this machine]; choose Normal cycle, then set spin speed to low [this machine disables the low speed choice on the Normal cycle]; on this machine the Perma-press cycle is renamed Delicate [Wrong. Delicate only swishes clothes back and forth, not robust enough for business shirt colors and cuffs]; on this machine the Perma-press cycle is renamed Colors [Wrong. Business shirts come out too wrinkled on Colors]. There has been nothing I can do to convince Whirlpool that they produced a lemon in this model [Model WTW6300WW0, Type 580] and should replace it with a normal washing machine. I have tried for years, only for Whirlpool to come to the same conclusion: its the consumers problem now, not theirs.

We purchase another duplicate model in April of 2016 and less than 16 months later the same issue occurred. Whirlpool WRF989SDAM00. We bought this junk April 22, 2013. 7 visits from service guy throughout the entire year we have had this, problems began almost immediately. Whirlpool gave us a 3 month complimentary warranty (which is up at the end of June). Same problem is back (back left corner freezing up and I think it has also made our ice maker not work nearly as good as it should). We called a few weeks back to report problem yet again, the rep on the phone treated us very poorly. They said they have a new part that is currently on back order that is going to fix the problem once and for all to which my husband replied: I do not have much confidence this will fix the problem as you have sent 5 or 6 new and improved parts over the year and all has failed. He then asked, will you extend the warranty once more, and they said NO. We are stuck with a ($2,700) piece of crap that they just keep trying to find new parts to fix it! On a separate call we asked for a refrigerator replacement to which the rep basically laughed and said that will never happen!! What course of action can we take here?? This company is dead to me!

I called Whirlpool, and then I accessed Whirlpool online and scheduled service with their official service representative - Flamingo Appliance Service ** for September 9, 2020. When the repairman arrived on 09-09-2020, he opened up the stove and checked it, and he told me that a computer part needs to be replaced, as well as the igniter, and the cost would be between $400.00 and $600.00 (I dont remember the exact amount), I told SEVERAL times, maybe its just the igniter (for which the cost would less than $100.00 AND already included in the $134.95), but he insisted that the computer needed to be replaced, I did not like the way he explained it to me, it did not make sense. After that I was planning to buy a new stove, as the repair was too high. But, I decided to try to change the igniter myself before getting rid of the stove (the igniter cost was $21.00). I just got the igniter recently, and installed it, with help from YouTube, and what do you? THE STOVE IS WORKING!!! This is fraud!!! I completely forgot that I wrote a review on our Whirlpool hot water heater model FG1H5040T3 Nov in 2010 until I received an email telling me how many people read my post. Surprise, Surprise guess what we are having problems with again. You know how nice it is to have hot water anytime you need or want it. Well, not at my house. The hot water heater worked for about a year (Im probably being nice with the time here). Heres our problem now, once the water heats up the pilot goes out. It will not stay on. Ive noticed that if its full the pilot light will not come on, so we have to run some water to be able to light it. Well I called customer service, a waste of time. The guy told me that my heaters warranty expired last year and his suggestion is to go buy another heater. REALLY! All I wanted to do was order a part for it. He did send me an article with suggestion of things to check. Sorry, we already did everything in the article, another waste of time. We started noticing pools of water on the floor on the left side of the freezer. We would then open up the drawer and it was covered in ice. The water was not noticed until the morning so it has caused damage to the floor and molding in our house that was built in 2012. I called the repair company that I used to have my Whirlpool oven fixed (broke twice). That is when the manager gave me the lowdown on what has been happening with this fridge. He told me to call Whirlpool and have them pay for the repair and part and to research online, that it is a design flaw with the freezer and the p-trap and draining under the ice maker being not efficient.I called Whirlpool and complained. All of my appliances are Whirlpool and I spoke to a Supervisor. They only would not agree to pay for the repair and only will pay for the part (which is only $27.00). This fridge is 15 months old and I am irate at the lack of customer loyalty from Whirlpool. They responded the exact same way when my oven broke a month out of warranty.
