My LG refrigerator LFC23760SW started breaking after a few months of normal
My LG refrigerator LFC23760SW started breaking after a few months of normal use (we dont have any children at home), just my husband and I and we take care of our things. Purchased in 2009 and the problems with this piece of expensive junk (which cost around $2000) started fairly soon. All the shelves have literately fallen apart. Just placing an item on one of the main shelves caused it to break on both sides so I had to remove it. Now we have almost no shelves left in this horrible excuse for an appliance. LG response: They will sell us more shelves of the same quality at the price of $90 per shelf. Never again will I purchase one of their items.

I bought my LG French door side by side unit LMXC23746 in 2016 and now after 21 months it stopped cooling. LGs authorized repair guys checked it out, and as they were suspecting (1) the compressor is bad!!! and (2) the sealed unit is leaking!!! Parts are on order and no ETA on when it will be available. Meanwhile get used to living without a refrigerator! As I am reading this seems to be a common problem on recent LG refrigerators. I paid 3 grands for this high-end LG unit and looks like it was a BIG MISTAKE! Never LG again! Not sure if we can sue them for common failure based on the common occurrence!

I suddenly had an issue with my top loaded LG washer. It turned out that there was a recall on my model and LG sent a technician. Not sure what he did but when he left the washer was working but the electrical distribution was not so he simply connected the machine to an extension cord and left! When I called LG back to get retribution they asked me to contact their supplier to make a claim with them.

LG has the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. The ice maker shorted and caused a fire in the freezer. The potential was there to extend into my home and cause major damage. In a nut shell, LG feels that because the fridge is out of warranty they wont do anything about it. After seeing pictures of the damage, they said it wasnt a manufacturers defect and things eventually begin to fail. Please consider another brand if youre buying a fridge. LG couldnt care less about a dangerous event, or working with a customer to resolve an issue.

Horrors! I bought a new LG refrigerator LSC27926SW from Best Buy. It had icing, fan stoppage and shutdown before warranty expired. LG fixed it. Now over last 3 years, they have fixed it 8 more times, and have never solved the problem. They refuse to replace this lemon, and keep sending Korean techies out to fix it every time this happens. I now have to take them to court to get a new refrigerator under Michigan lemon law. They are coming again this Friday, 11/16/2011, because it just broke again!

What a disappointment!! A few years back my husband and I purchased new LG appliances for the kitchen and also a washer and dryer - all LG products. Paid a PREMIUM price - all the bells and whistles. From day one there has been nothing but headaches with every item we purchased. From the interior finish in the oven flaking (LG and Home Depot would do NOTHING to help us. We had to purchase new range!!), to the microwave falling apart, the drying faulting out and now this horrible washing machine!! Between the mold this machine creates (yes, I leave everything open and wipe it down after each load), not always working correctly (gets confused...) now the drain motor needs to be replaced which has been estimated at $300 parts and labor!!! This is ridiculous!!! What a piece of junk and SHAME on LG and HOME DEPOT for not producing/selling reputable products and standing behind those products!! As you all know, these items are not cheap!

I was out of country for business when my wife tells me our 5 year old LG refrigerator stopped working. I had her call LG customer service department (India). They provided her with an authorized LG Service Center 50 miles from our house. The cost for the service center to make the service call to my home was $215 which included 1 hour of labor that would be applied to the service call and anything left over applied to the repair. It took the service center 1 week to make the service call. At 5 years my refrigerator has only a 7 year warranty on the compressor with no labor covered. The service call by the service center determined the compressor and motherboard were bad. The repairman only assessed the call for 15 minutes leaving 45 minutes toward repair. I was also told that I would have to get the parts from LG. Contacted LG for the parts and they said the service center would have to order the parts.I went back and forth for about a week between the service center and LG. Got an LG Case Number that was offered after about the 15th call to LG. I asked for a US based LG customer service rep and was told that does not exist. Today LG offered to send the Service Center a Part Authorization # so that they could order the parts. I am going on 3 weeks without a refrigerator functioning in my home. I was told the Part Authorization # will take at least 3 days. The service center says once they have the Part Authorization # it will take about a week to get the part. Then another week to come out for the service repair call. If you are thinking of purchasing an LG product you are out of your freakn mind.

Our fridge has the freezer on the bottom. It saves my back not to have to bend down to look in the fridge! We also like that it’s small and compact and doesn’t take up much space. The three shelves in the main body of the fridge serve us very well. And the shelves in the door are varying sizes and are all removable for cleaning!

After being told that this washer was the most top-rated, we decided to make the move to this HE machine to save water. It has the clear top, so we were suspicious from the start with the minimal activity and agitation seen with the impeller system versus our old machine, plus it appeared that some clothes werent even getting wet! But the information we had read told us that all of this was normal. We were shocked at the 1:47 hours to complete a load, but again, we were able to wash twice as much in one load. BUT, a load of heavily soiled Levis from gardening, which would have been no problem with our old machine, came out filthy, even using the Heavy-duty cycle with extra water! TWICE!! This really is not acceptable, but we dont have a lot of faith in trying any other HE machine now either. We are reading bad reviews on pretty much all of them!

I have a top loading LG TruBalance (ha!) Direct Drive. This is my second machine after replacing the first one with the same problem of unbalanced loads. It takes all day to complete a load because it gets out of balance during the spin cycle... comes up with a UE error code. It tries to refill to balance the load then repeats the same problem. I have read many other reviews that describe the same problem. LG is of no help. I will never buy another LG washing machine and would not recommend this product to anyone.

We purchased an LG washer and dryer set. The dryer works well, but the washer is a disaster. Our towels have an unpleasant musty smell just 1 day after they are washed. The rubber sleeve between the front panel and the drum is literally designed to trap moisture and grow mold. What a horrible design! We miss our old top loader Amana. That washer worked wonders on spots and dirtier clothes like playground pants with grass on the knees. Our front loader LG, on the other hand, is a piece of cr@p. We are waiting for this thing to develop any problem so we can replace it with a Bosch. Dryers works well. Washer doesnt get the clothes clean. It uses less water than our old washer but what good are water savings when the clothes dont get clean? We will check Amazon customer reviews to see which models to AVOID like the plague. Before buying this LG washer we were focused on efficiency but with LG efficiency came at the cost of less than clean clothes and smelly towels. Reliability is important but effectiveness is a very close second. A reliable, highly efficient washer is junk if it doesnt get the job done. To reiterate, stay away from LG clothes washers. The design of the drum, pump, and the drum seal is defective. It traps moisture and promotes mold growth. Also, the pump/filter assembly on these washers holds about 12 OZ of water at all times. We forgot to drain the filter assembly before going on a 3-week vacation. When we came back, the whole downstairs of the house smelled like sewer. The stench was coming from our wonderful LG washing machine. I had to flush it with 2 gallons of bleach! Stay away from LG washers! They are toxic!

PSA: DO NOT buy an LG refrigerator. Both they, and the service company they contract with, A&E are absolutely horrible. Back story: I purchased an LG fridge 2.5 years ago to replace an aging one which was keeping food in the 56º range. The new fridge worked fine with the exception of the black satin stainless finish on it which had started peeling off. About a month ago I called to report that. They sent out a service tech who said it was a manufacturers defect and it was covered. They would replace the doors in approximately two weeks.About a week after that, the fridge quit working. I checked all the stuff a non technical person like myself knows to check: had the door been left open; was the air intake clogged. Nope and nope. I busted out the manual. They said to call LG if it was failing to cool so I got on the horn with their service. Shortly into the phone call, the customer service person says, touch the inside of the fridge, does it have any condensation on it? It did not. He told me it was the compressor and promptly scheduled a service call which was about a week out. So I threw out stuff which would perish soon, got freezer stuff to my friends and cleaned the fridge so that it would not get stanky sitting closed up without power. The tech shows up as scheduled, confirms it is the compressor and also the motherboard and orders parts. The parts arrive a few days later, they are the wrong parts. We are now a week and a half in. He blames it on LG (who knows if it was LG or A&E at this point) and says he is going to order the parts and they will be overnighted. Had this been the case they would have arrived on a Thursday, come the next Tuesday, there are still no parts, so we call again. Now the story is that they will be ordering the parts and they will be here tomorrow. LG ships the parts to the consumers home, and A&E will not schedule until the parts arrive so first you get to wait for the parts, then you get to wait for them to have availability in their schedule. The parts arrive, three days later they schedule the tech yet again. They call the day that the repair is to be scheduled and say that the tech called in that day and they will need to reschedule. At this point another friend gets on the horn and basically tells them, oh hell no! and they miraculously find someone from Cape Girardeau and send him up. The guy puts the parts in, says to leave the fridge for 24 hours before putting anything into it. This was yesterday. Wake up this morning and the fridge is yet again a balmy 65º.Call LG AGAIN .... and A&E is closed and wont be able to schedule anything until Monday. Which will then of course be another service call scheduled days out, another tech coming out saying, yes the fridge is not working, ordering additional parts, waiting for parts, waiting to schedule said parts to be told that the fridge cannot be repaired. The fridge is under manufacturers warranty. The failed compressor has a 10 year warranty. I have the extended 5 year store warranty. There are so many 1 ⭐️ reviews on the LG fridge and A&E with people who are having the exact same issues as I am with both companies on Consumer Affairs, this entire debacle is being repeated all over the place. We are now three weeks into this, the doors never did arrive, the fridge still doesnt work and we are waiting on service yet again. If I can save any of you the headache, I wanted to put this out there.

My wife and I purchased a 26cf refrig. Water dispenser does not work properly. Repair service wants $157.00 to come out, order parts and $157.00 to come out and install. We purchased new elec. range and they did come out and replace glass in oven door. We purchased a microwave and the bottom of handle broke loose after warranty (have superglued in place). We purchased a dishwasher and the rollers on the upper rack keep breaking loose. This was all done within the last 5 years and only warranty was oven door glass. We are now in the process of replacing all appliances with a different brand and never to buy another LG product.

We did a complete kitchen makeover and chose top end appliances, or at least so we thought! The LG refrigerator is the absolute worst appliance we have ever bought. From day one there were issues and LGs customer service is non existent! Has never made ice on a regular basis, now doesnt make ice at all. The plastic drawers are all broke and duct taped so that we can still use them. Most importantly the lighting has not worked correctly since the day we first plugged it in. Some times they work, most times they dont. At one point we smelled smoke and opened the frig to find the plastic cover on the top mounted lights had completely melted off. Luckily our home did not burn! At this time our top end LG refrigerator does not make ice, has no lighting (we use a flash light to find what we need), the bottom freezer works when it wants to and our drawers are all duct taped so that we can use them. WARNING: THE LIGHTING ISSUE COULD COST YOU YOUR HOME! DO NOT BUY A LG REFRIGERATOR!!!!

Absolute worst customer service ever. $3000 French Door LG Refrigerator stopped working one month after going out of warranty, so basically at the 13 month period, $300 worth of food in the trash! Had to purchase a repair plan for $450 to get it fixed. It is the seal system that is causing the problem. Nobody in my area knows how to fix that. I have asked for my money back. NO, they said. A relative of mine is an LG repair man and he said LG has been trying to hire him but he does not want to work for them because their compensation is very poor. No wonder they dont have anyone available for certain jobs. Now we are using our old LG in the garage (Im glad that I didnt throw it away!) for our food. We wanted all of our appliances to match in the stainless steel color. Stay away from LG fridges. We also have stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer. Those have worked great so far!

Updated on 09/09/2021: Earlier this week, I submitted a review about my 2015 LG electric dryer. Today, after 25 minutes of trying screw extractors and the rubber band trick, an LG approved appliance repairman was able remove the front panel to determine the cause of non-heating heat element. Turns out that that there was an electric wire fire near back left side of dryer. A green wire which allows power to the heating element melted, sparked, and melted part of the neutral white wire next to it and there is black soot on the dryer lid. This could have burned down my home with my family in it! Now, have to have an electrician cut off the burnt part of the wire. But, this could happen again.Original Review: In 2015, I purchased a new washer front loading set, only to have to exchange the dryer for top loading model because front load models silicone collar would stink after each load even though I disinfected it after every load. The dryer has been great, but the heating element or thermostat died this August 2021. Worst of all, the dryer cannot be serviced because the factory installed door panel screws were over tightened. The screw heads cannot be drilled into to remove the screws to replace early expired parts. The dryer is now a nothing but a huge paper weight! Do not buy LG dryers. Contacting residential customer support almost impossible. I will be contacting the media should LG not make this right.

LFX25991ST/05 LG French door counter depth refrigerator - I actually love/hate this refrigerator. It has worked well. I love the ice and water dispenser, however, it appears to be caving in. There is a long crack at the top running into the inside of the dispenser. When the water dispenser is pressed it moves the entire wall inside the dispenser. The frame of the entire dispenser is actually crumbling piece by piece. We have no recollection of ever dropping anything or anything falling on the door dispenser. We have no warranty left on it as it is now almost 3 years old. So we are faced with the repair. Frankly neither of would have the strength to push so hard the plastic would crack. I own an LG stove, microwave, washer and dryer. I am not unhappy with any of these - performance wise.

I purchased the Wave Force True Balance LG washer in March 2013. Thirteen months later it stopped working and needed a clutch and motor, a repair fiasco that took over three weeks. It has consistently displayed the uneven load sign, adding water and taking an eternity to finish while I stand there rebalancing the load. Today a 50 minute cycle took three hours. I have called LG many times with no resolution to the problem. This machine has big issues. Called back with the serial # and surprise, the known recall now requires a receipt, which I dont have 7 or so years later, and LG insists its required to make the recall fix. Is that legal? Do recalls require a receipt. This is the second LG product that has gone bad on me at my expense and NO more. LG is not a good life and I would not opt for their products ever again because as other commenters below stated, their customer service is bad. I plan to call the MA consumer products division tomorrow to confirm if a receipt is necessary for a recall, assuming there is a recall on the product as the first CS agent told me this morning. The pedestal washer catches fabrics and causes damage. The front load washer is loud - with just 5 t-shirts and 1 beach towel seem to stress the machine. When the cycle gets to rinse/spin it produces loud thuds and disturbing noise. The dryer drum is bent, or warped, it has a raised hard plastic that hooks and drags clothing items while the machine is in dry cycle thereby causing threads to pull away from the garments. It has only been 6 months since purchasing the washer and dryer and the extensive damage is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. Meanwhile the company we purchased from is making every effort to avoid responsibility/accountability or remedial action.

I have had such a bad experience with this washer and dryer. The time has never been accurate. I have to use the drain and spin multiple times. The dryer takes over 3 hours to dry. These problems are not from the fact that its 5 years old. Its been like this since I bought it. I am very unsatisfied with this product and will be changing brands and types as soon as possible. Not worth wasting your money!

Was the best deal available at the time and was highly recommended by salesman. Love the brand and would buy again as it has many features you dont necessarily get elsewhere. Highly reliable products. I like the ice maker and filtered water system. Also like that I can move the shelves around to maximize and customize the space in the refrigerator. I also like the meat drawer and produce drawers. They are spacious enough to hold adequate products. But the freezer is too small, would like less shelving etc to give more space; maybe move the freezer to the bottom instead of side by side if it could be configured correctly and I could see and retrieve product easily.

Purchased the LG 5 element double oven slide-in range in late June, 2019 along with an LG dishwasher. In September, while using multiple elements, the range must have overheated because it shut off and flashed an error notice that I had to dig deep on the web/blogs to figure out what it was...Best I could come up with was motherboard failure. I cut power from the circuit and the next day and since, no problem with the error. THAT is not the issue right now. Lets start with the cooktop. I am OCD with cleaning the top. It even gets a wipe down when it hasnt been used. There are white marks on 3/5 of the elements. The previous range, which was 15 plus years old did not have these marks and that cooktop took a beating.I get things that are used cannot look showroom new, but 8 months of not daily use and it looks older than the previous range...which is very frustrating. Now lets move to the ovens. This model has the bright blue enamel interior. The easy clean function does NOTHING at all. Spills and drips happen and the easy clean was one of the reasons I selected the LG model. Ok, so I just gently wiped the minor spills and drips with a wet rag when the oven cooled and would do the self clean as needed. I wipe the glass on the oven doors regularly and honestly have no clue how there are drips in between the glass on both top and bottom. You cant see it unless the door is open or the light is on but they are there and shouldnt be unless there is a problem with the door/glass seals..NOW, today I ran the self clean cycle for the first time since purchasing this unit. I am absolutely livid!! The cycle ran for four hours and then it took some more time to cool so I could wipe the accumulated ash from all of the cleaned spatter and drips that I couldnt wipe out. Both top and bottom ovens look ruined. The grime just cooked into the finish! While wiping with the damp towel, it was shiny and looked clean. As it dried, it looked like bacon cooled bacon grease. I wiped again with another towel and dried with a microfiber cloth...still there and will NOT go back to the shiny finish and seriously looks like coagulated bacon grease. This range was not cheap but is manufactured extremely cheaply. I am sick to my stomach with my decision to buy this unit as opposed to one that was more readily available. The dishwasher I have no problem with so far but this range is absolute JUNK! I looked at many reviews prior to purchase but I wish I had looked at this site before purchasing this unit because this would have tipped me into the cons...dont buy column. Do not purchase an LG range!

This is first time I had problem with washer and dryer. The washer is terrible smell like sewer while using and after use. The mold around the front end door creates black mold. Also the rubber gasket is not properly designed. As soon we bought the machine it leaked terribly wetting the whole wooden floor many times. We called the LG within 1 year warranty period. The repair men came and fixed it but it happened again. I have fix it on my own. BAD, BAD... BAD design and BAD machine. I will not anyone to buy this machine. There are many other brands in the market you want to consider but never ever LG washer. The dryer is takes longer than normal time other dryers will take. Worse machine. They should be stopped in the USA market completely unless they replace all the faulty machines or refund or correct the problems.

I have tried every which way for LG to honour that warranty & they in return have have tried every which way dishonor it. Very stressful & disappointing to say the least.

It appears with all these complaints, that LG may be a product I will stay away from in future. One of the plastic drawers broke early on but the light problem bothers me.

We bought a very expensive LG washer - dryer for our second home in London. Worked well even though perhaps only used 20 hours a year!!! Now after 7 years it did not dry anymore. We called out for servicing AND LG direct, paid 80 GBP to the servicing company only to receive the message, that spare parts are no longer available. LG answered, We would, sorry to say, throw the machine away and buy a new one. Result: Never LG again, throwing a complete nearly new machine away, is this green policy???

We recently went through 4 months of renovations. What a nightmare and the contractor is not coming back to do the final touchups. We had our kitchen completely gutted and when it came to appliances we purchased and LG range and fridge. Both are working just fine. It takes a bit of getting used to when going from appliances from the 70s and 80s to new. We have had no problems with the fridge but then we have only been using it for a couple of months. The stove works fine. I thought getting a new stove would mean that I would wait a shorter time for a pot of water to boil but no. We are having a problem with the smell of gas every time we use the range. Whether it be the oven or burners, we smell gas. There is conflicting information on the internet as to whether this is normal. We shouldnt be able to smell gas in other rooms other than the kitchen but we do when we use the range. The other issue which is major is the knobs for turning on the burners. This is a complete safety hazard and how this design passed any safety inspections before selling to the public is beyond me. I have singed my long hair twice, once reaching into a cupboard near the stove and another cleaning by the stove just because I barely leaned against the range. The knobs turn by barely brushing up against them and instantly the burner is on before you can get out of the way. If my children were still small I would not keep this stove. It is a accident just waiting to happen. I find this design terribly irresponsible for a company to have and this range should be recalled. I also find the venting of the oven across the cook top not the best design also. When I use the oven and the burners at the same time too much heat is being created and at one time our range hood fan went off on its own and didnt shut off until the heat had dissipated. At the same time the oven vent causes the pots on the stove to heat up even more than from being on the burners and the handles can not be handled unless using a pot holder. It bakes well. We find we use the convection more because on bake food isnt crisping up as much as we would like. I guess thats the difference between electric heat and gas. Companies need to stand by their products better. Our old fridge of 25 years is still going on strong and has been relegated to the car port as an overflow fridge. I am certain that these new appliances of today would never last that long. If the new LG fridge goes we might have to bring the old one back inside. Oh and our 2 year old Samsung T.V. just completely died. What quality!!!

The LG washer we purchased, while now out of warranty, is part of a recall
The LG washer we purchased, while now out of warranty, is part of a recall for a potentially dangerous failure, where the drum spins unbalanced and out of control causing the whole machine to be violently tossed about. This has been a three week ordeal, so far. The service center has been very good but the part they need is on back-order, nationally. As of this morning 12/3/2015 Im told by LG that they have an anticipated arrival date of the 12/16. LGs customer service manager tells me that we have no options other than wait. Ever been without a washer for a month during the biggest holiday season of the year? I own an electronics repair shop. Among others, were Samsung authorized. If a part cant be delivered within 7 days, Samsung will ship a brand new TV to the customer. THATs customer service. At this point Im basically forced to buy a new washer, have the LG repaired in the garage whenever they can, and give it to a family member or friend that needs one. Happy holidays LG. Youve seen my last dollar.

I did this but the flakes come back every 2-3 weeks and I must run the tub clean cycle and use the product, then rewash my clothes! What a waste of time, money and water! After running tub clean, the tub still needs to be wiped out. At 5’1” I cannot reach the bottom of the tub. I use a step stool which throws off my center of gravity. Worst experience I have had as a consumer - ever. I ordered an LG microwave 1/3/18 through a third-party, AJ Madison. It was delayed weeks (not LGs fault), when I finally received it and plugged it in it had a code of death - F11. It never worked, not even ONE SECOND. That was middle of March. Its now May 3, 2018. I have sent in repeated receipts, responded to their letters, requests for more information, taken pictures, cut up serial numbers, signed declarations that I did in fact buy the microwave. Gotten the third party involved and had them try on my behalf to no avail! They now want me to send them a receipt having bought a second one of these before theyll send me my money back for the January 3, 2018 purchase! Im on hold again with LG, 26 minutes into it and the customer service wants to explain the process to me - youve got to be kidding me. LG, as a very American, cooperative consumer who has purchased 14 appliances in the last year and done lots of shopping - this is the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!

I own an LG Clothes Washer, model WM0624HW/01. The direct drive motor supposedly had a 7-year warranty on it. The rotor has plastic (!) splines in it that attach to the drum shaft to wash and spin the clothes. It (of course, its plastic!) stripped out after three years of normal household use. I contacted LG to get a replacement (I have been repairing appliances for 20+ years professionally, I know what I am doing); they absolutely refused. They said, Thank you for contacting LG Electronics. I am delighted to hear from you as our valued customer and I will be glad to answer your concern. I apologize for the inconvenience youre having. Drum motor such as stator, rotor and hall sensor have a seven year warranty from the date of purchase. Yes, the motor is still in warranty as I checked based on the serial number you provided. The washer has a one year warranty for parts and labor from the date of purchase but has exclusion for warranty of other parts as stated in the warranty page in the owners manual. For the replacement of the said part, it should be done by one of our LG technicians or authorized service technicians. The technician will order the part for you as soon as the unit is checked upon technicians visit, or will install it for you if the part is available upon service visit. Let me provide our rates for the labor. For LG technicians: diagnosis - $89, minor repair - $150 + tax & parts, major repair - $225 + tax and parts. I apologize I dont have the information for the rate fee for our authorized service technician. They have different rate scheme than our own LG technicians. I hope I was able to help you with your concern. If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again either via email or by calling our customer service division at 800-243-0000 at your convenience. Thank you for choosing LG!I called Albert and told him I was a qualified appliance repair person, and it only took me 10 minutes to diagnose and remove the offending part and to please just send me the part. He absolutely refused. In order to get it replaced under warranty, I would have to spend $239 in labor. The part is available to me wholesale for $73.11 and it will take me 5 minutes to replace it. Of course, I will bite the bullet and buy the part myself. What gripes me is that the part is under warranty but I cannot get the part. LG has figured out a way to screw me out of the warranty they supposedly provide. Even worse, the replacement part is new and improved with metal splines in it, proving LG knew there was a problem and are refusing to do anything about it. Bottom line is I will never, ever buy anything from LG ever again. LG = Latest Garbage. This is not the first LG appliance I have had problems with, but it will be the last.

I purchased a double door with bottom freezer, an LG refrigerator model LFD22860. One year after purchase, the cover on the electronic control started to melt (was covered under warranty). Two years later, the right side door seal ripped, and I called the warranty service line. I was told it’s the first time they hear of this problem, and that my warranty was over anyway. I had it fixed by a local repair company at $189.71 for a seal. Immediately within 24 hours, the door was rubbing with other side and started to get damaged. I called the service company to verify if it’s an alignment issue, but the doors are fixed on dowel pins and cannot be aligned! The only thing we could do is to put Vaseline to the doors often (RIDICULOUS). Anyway, even with Vaseline both sides, it ripped within a few months (I wasn’t about to pay $400 for seals!). It doesnt end here. Upon closer inspection, we noticed approximately ten cracks everywhere inside the fridge. This absolutely DISGUSTED me. We paid $2200 for this pile of junk, thinking it would last us for some time. Im fed up of big name companies getting away with cheap products sold in todays market. All they could tell me was that my warranty was over and that they cant do anything about it. Since then, I have never bought another product from them, and never will including my family & friends.

Model LMWS27626S, Production Date was Feb 2021. Just today the technician dispatched by LG showed up and after performing his diagnostics, he told me that both the Main Board and The Compressor are bad and theyll need to be replaced. Imagine a 3 Month Old Appliance from the date of production going bad and to think weve only had this in our home for 4 weeks. This experience just gives me no confidence in the LG Brand at all, yes they are nice on the surface but trash in the inside. Now well be out of a fridge for the next week until the parts arrive. At this point I dont even want to keep this appliance in my home because I know it will break again. About 2 months after purchasing the unit, the heating element that controls the defrost mode went out and had to be replaced. Also, this unit makes a horrible vibrating noise when the compressor runs. If I put my hand on the door, it immediately quiets down. When I told the technician about it, he said it wasnt anything he could fix. They sent another technician out and he said this is normal and that the new compressors are just loud. That doesnt make sense because when I put my hand on the doors, it immediately quiets down. National Platinum Services wont send anyone out unless I agree to pay a $95 fee. I refuse to agree to this as the unit is new and is under warranty.LG says this is an installation problem and not their problem. LG told me to watch a video on how to level the unit and sent me a wrench for the doors. I have both front legs as high as they will go and the wrench they sent doesnt fit - one end is too small and the other is too big. LG confirmed that the wrench they sent is the only one they have for the refrigerator, yet no one can tell me how to adjust the doors without it. I talked with a supervisor who said they would send someone out free of charge to get it level but that never happened. A month went by and now LG is saying a new policy went into effect 2 weeks ago and I have to pay the fee. I find it highly suspicious that National Platinum Services avoided contacting me until the new policy took effect. BTW: Both technicians who came pulled the unit out from the wall without re-leveling it.Now today the heating element that was replaced is not working properly and ice and frost is building up in my freezer. Im beginning to think that the whole line of your refrigerator is not properly leveled is just a stalling tactic from LG and they know these units defrost mechanisms are not designed/built properly. Perhaps this is why theres such a bad vibration and noise. Theyre just trying to waste time and wait for the warranty to run out. NEVER. BUY. LG. EVER.

We bought it brand new with matching Refrigerator, Microwave, and Dishwasher. Within the first year the Blue Paint started popping off into our food and ruined our Thanksgiving TURKEY DINNER. LG CUSTOMER SERVICE SENT OUT A TECH WHO STATED IT WAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. We followed directions and were sent a Return Authorization. I was called to service out of the country but had arranged for LG to replace the Range with a new one. I returned from my duty abroad to find that the Range had never been replaced and was still defective. I called to request that LG honor their RA and was told that it expired after 30 days and now they would not replace my oven. I got my Extended Warranty rep. Wanda ** at AM Trust Group involved and she contacted LG on a 3-way call and they requested a copy of our purchase receipt again. Wanda sent it to them, handled the claim for me and e-mailed that we were getting a New Range, I just needed to call LG to arrange it. I called LG and was redirected away from the representative that said we could have a refund of our purchase price plus taxes to Barbara, a Customer Service Manager who stated that due to the time that passed the best they could do for my Refund was $267 for my $897 Range. I complained and was sent to the LEAD AGENT, Managing Director for Customer service, Michael, on February 12th, 2015. He offered to Increase the Proration to $407 for my Range and despite my pointing out that it was the same faulty range they had agreed to replace originally. He stated that that was LGs full and Final offer for my now out of manufacturers Warranty, Defectively built Non-repairable Range. He stated I would get paperwork in the mail in a few days and would need to remove the Manufacturer ID plate from my Range to prove I still had the Range in order to get a refund Check. That was over 2 weeks ago and Nothing has happened. Now the Range stovetop does not shut off and I am in dire need of a new Range. Thanks for nothing LG (LOW GRADE) corporation. All US MILITARY FAMILIES ARE WARNED. LG DOES NOT CARE! AND DOES NOT KEEP THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE HALF-HEARTED PROMISES. PS, MY Refrigerators electric self-opening and closing Doors stopped working, it was not a Manufacturer Defect and the parts are not available. So Wandas Extended warranty Company gave me a full refund of my purchase Price. Bravo. Too Bad my Range was a Manufacturer DEFECT and not covered under my Extended Warranty as such.

We purchased a Kenmore Model 79551833412 side by side refrigerator that was manufactured for Sears by LG. This units compressor failed after 17 months. I came to learn there was a class action lawsuit filed against LG for this same issue which unfortunately was dismissed. Because my mother in law is 88 years old and the estimated cost of repair was nearly the cost of a new refrigerator we chose to purchase her a new refrigerator rather than wait for it to be repaired. Sears says their warranty is only one year but the Sears rep said that the manufacturer provides a longer warranty on the compressor but labor would not be included. I bought an LG refrigerator (LMCX23746) from Costco in August, 2016. The ice maker stopped working in March, 2020. I paid LG $125 for a diagnosis by an LG technician who told me that a wire in the door is broken. It happened because we opened and closed the French door too many times (2000+). To repair, a new door and control board plus labor will cost me another $625-$875. I called LG and they refused to cover the parts because it is not part of the closed system. The customer service even suggested I slammed the door. I am following up with Costco on this. Even though I wont have an working ice maker in the end, I am not going to send one more penny to LG. Another customer has the same issue with the same LG fridge: **. So if you have an LG French Door unit, try to open the other door more. Or turn the French Door into a Single Door unit because the door with dispensers is dedicated to the ice maker.

We purchased an entire kitchen of LG appliances in July 2010. Double oven, dishwasher, cooktop and fridge all have needed repairs within the first year. The LF25976 fridge has multiple issues, but the most pervasive is the ice maker not working. I usually research major purchases thoroughly, but I let my wife choose. These are the most unreliable appliances on the market. I will never by LG again. I have made a point to inform as many of our relatives and friends of our experience as possible.

LG French Door refrigerator LFX28979ST - This the second LG refrigerator I have bought in the past 10 years. I have had problems with both. I have spent over four grand not counting over 1,500 on repairs. In the latest one we have replaced 2 compressor for over 1,000 dollars in 7 months. If they know they have problems with compressors the need to fix it. I give their product a zero rating. The whole LG staff is worthless and of no help and just pass the buck.

3 yr old Kenmore (LG manufactured) refrigerator went out at Thanksgiving. Sears was very slow to respond. Tech came out and immediately said it was compressor without even touching the fridge. He said they were replacing them left and right. Part was ordered and it took two weeks to get it. He came back out and it was either the wrong part or it wasn’t a functioning compressor. Fast forward to now and we received the compressor on Tuesday and they are telling us it will be next week before anyone will come out to make repair. It has been 6 weeks now without a refrigerator. We went out and bought a 4 cubic foot fridge that gets us by - barely. Don’t know if it will work when they come back again next week but hopeful. Sick of LG and Sears!

I have several LG appliances, all have had numerous issues. The refrigerator - drawers crack easily, door shelves snap under basic load (the shelf for milk broke off with just milk in it). The range - front panel cracked due to heat (ON A RANGE!!!!). The Dryer - the drum cracked to the point where clothes can probably get through. I contacted support about all of these, and they simply parroted the 1 year parts & labour mantra. Save yourself some money and DO NOT BUY LG.

We purchased a Refrigerator 3 years ago $1500 as a wedding gift for our daughter. It stopped working 2 weeks ago and we have been on the phone with LGs customer service for 2 weeks with no help. They say they escalated it but cant find a company to come service us. We called and found a company who is LG approved 30 miles away and they said they can come service it but that they did not get a request from LG. I have been on the phone today for an hour and half and they will not let me talk to anyone. They also said they dont know who they sent the service request to. But said they have escalated it AGAIN. My daughter has a 1 year old that needs milk and food. My daughter also has a blood disorder and has to keep 3-shots on hand at all times in her refrigerator for emergencies. They each cost $500! We will never purchase anything from LG again. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with.

I purchased an LG washing machine in Oct. 2007 at Best Buy. The washing machine rubber seal showed signs of mold within the first 6 months. I was told to keep the door open, but with animals and children here, this is impossible to do. The smell of mold is not pleasant. In 2010, I began to have electronic issues with the machine flashing the code le. I had 3 service calls for this problem (August, September, and December of 2010). The service tech would check the machine and circuit board for each call. This cost me $68.50 per visit. The same electronic issue code, le, began again in 2011. I have had 2 service calls (March and December). The same fix it job checked the circuit board. Again, the cost was $68.50 per visit. Now, in 2012, I have had 2 more service calls (February and March) for the same electronic issue, which cost me $68.50 and $119.00 respectively, for labor fees, to have the service tech do a full load of laundry! I was told that I needed to put heavier loads of laundry? After the tech left, I did a heavy load of laundry, and the machine again flashed the same electronic code, le! I have another service call tomorrow. They will now replace the circuit board (for around $300.00), but they told me that it might be another problem, like the motor. The total cost is around $461.50. LG does not produce good products. My advice to anyone looking at this brand is the old saying, buyers, beware!”. Shop for another brand!

I owned a washing machine model WD-65130F but it broke down since August 2011. Until now I am still unable to fix it because there are no spare parts according to the service provider and I need to import spare parts from Korea. My question is - I cant get spare parts in 3 months? What kind of back up service does LG provide?Im upset and shared my bad experience with my community not to buy LGs product anymore because until now my problem is unsolved and complaint after complaint have been made but sadly not even a feedback from LG. I do wonder if the web page is real or false.

LG Electric Range- LRE30453ST. After using the self-cleaning feature in the oven, I noticed the interior looked as if it had been chipped or scratched. I then found pieces of the enamel on the oven floor. I called LG to complain. They asked me to send them pictures of the oven. After emailing them the pictures, they came back, said that it was out of warranty and I did not purchase an extended warranty. Their conclusion was that the chipping was caused by owner neglect. I was fuming since I did not do anything to cause this. I only used the self-cleaner. I asked to speak to someone in a higher position and was told that they were the highest I could go. I preceded to inform them that I would not take that as an answer. I still have the pieces of enamel that came off. I told them that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau and anyone else I knew to report this and they told me, to go ahead.Im stuck with an appliance that I wonder whether it is safe or not. I have a 10-year old stove whose oven looks 100 times better than this one. Unfortunately, I purchased a LG refrigerator and dish washer to match. I have been dissatisfied with dishwasher since day one, a hard pill to swallow.

On 4/14 I contacted LG Direct Service regarding my refrigerator not cooling
On 4/14 I contacted LG Direct Service regarding my refrigerator not cooling. The refrigerator was no longer under warranty so they suggested some local service providers. At this point the service rep offer me a service contract for the unit, explaining that I would have a 60 day service contract for a cost of $365.04 and they would send a technician out to fix the unit on 4/17 between 8:00 am and 12:00. On 4/17 the technician was a no show. I contacted LG Direct Service regarding the matter. That had no answer for me and kept referring me to Assurance, who apparently is a third party to actually held the service contract that I thought I got from LG Direct Services. This whole time I had been dealing directly with LG as implied by the name. In any event, Assurance informed me that he was only service provider in my area, and that they would send another request to him. So I was told now that the technician would be arriving between 8-12:00 on 4/19. LG Provided me with the number of the provider so I attempted to contact him on 4/18 in an effort to confirm the appointment. After numerous attempts with no answer other than a recording with a full mailbox, I contacted LG Direct Service again. I explained that I could not contact the provider and needed to have this appointment confirmed. They attempted to contact the provider but had the same response that I did. After 2 hours of mostly being on hold listen to a recording tell me over and over again that they know how valuable my time is, I am informed that the guy will not be coming tomorrow. He rejected the request for the service. It turns out he rejected the first request for service as well. So the appointment that LG Direct Service told me I had, never even existed. No phone call or e-mail to let me know. So I took off of work for no reason. Had I not called on 4/18, the same thing would have happened. Now LG just keeps trying to pass the buck onto Assurance. LG tells me that the technician that didnt show is the only one they have in my area even though they had already given me the names of three other service providers. The fact is he is the only one that is on the Assurance list of providers. As a result they now say they can no longer repair my refrigerator. So instead of paying $365.04 for the repair it is now going to cost $900. LG totally misrepresented the service contract of actually being an LG product. I have repeatedly asked LG to stand by the contract they sold me and get another authorized repairman to fix it. They have gone so far as to tell me that they dont have anyone who can make the repair in my area. It should be against the law to sell you a product under the representation that it is their product and not a third partys. The only people I spoke with and was invoiced by was LG Direct Service and they should have to make do on the contract and get my refrigerator fixed and not just offer to cancel the contract and return my money and then have to pay more to someone else. Just for the fact that between time off of work and the 4 hrs plus I have spent on the phone with them should be enough to make them want to do right by the customer.

We are without a washing machine and LG does not stand behind their product
We are without a washing machine and LG does not stand behind their products. From all the reviews, it appears we do have enough people to level a class action suit against LG. Are you in? We purchased a LG front-loading washing machine in November 2014 from Home Depot. When the machine was delivered, there was rust inside the drum. We called Home Depot and complained and two weeks later (a month and a half after purchase) we finally received a new washer. Around the end of June 2015, (6 months) I noticed a loud notice when the clothes were washing, it sounded like the drum was rubbing. I mentioned it to my husband who told me it was nothing. In July the noise was getting louder so I called LG for service. The customer service was atrocious! They told me that the technician was only available on 1 day and that if I was not available, then I would have to call back because they did not have a schedule for the technician the following week. I asked the representative to call me back when they had a schedule and he agreed, but I never got a call back. I called the following week and again I was told they only had a schedule for Tuesday. I asked for a supervisor, Cherry, who advised me to keep Wednesday, Thursday and Friday open for the technician and that she would call me. I asked her to have a member of management call me and she said they would call me back in 48 to 72 business hours. After 96 business hours, no one called me back, so I called again. A supervisor, Vincent, said he would get a technician out there on Monday. The technician arrived on Monday, and stated it was stator assembly and rotor assembly but stated hopefully it is not the drum, and that he would order the parts and be back on Tuesday to replace them. When he showed up on Tuesday to replace the parts, he said, oh no - the drum shaft is bent and that we would need a whole new rebuild of the machine. He then told my husband to call Customer Service because he could not order the parts (he was able to order them the day before) - that we needed to order them through Customer Service. While my husband was on the phone with Customer Service, the technician Nick just left. My husband then spent the whole day on Wednesday trying to get answers. Mid-day he was able to contact Sherry in the Executive Offices who told him she would research the issue and contact him by the end of the day about replacing the unit. She did contact him back and asked him to get the invoice because she did not have the information - however LG had the purchase date, model number and place of purchase. I then tried to contact Sherry the following day. Sherry indicated to me that she spoke to LG Management and that they refused to replace the machine but would order the parts for rebuild. When I asked Sherry when the parts would be in, and when we could expect the repairs to be done, she stated, The technician will give you a call when the parts arrive to schedule service. I then explained to her this was not acceptable to have a time frame and that I also wanted to keep the parts that are replaced for evidence. She told me she did not think I could do that, that decision would be up to the technician. I explained again that I was keeping the parts for evidence. My husband then called back and asked to speak with Sherrys manager. Amber, who answered the phone, said that she was Sherrys manager and there was no one above her to speak to. She stated that LG will not replace the machine, and that someone would call us when the parts arrive. We are without a washing machine, and LG does not stand by their products. NEVER, EVER, BUY LG. You will have dirty clothes and you will have $1000 less in your pocket! 10-year warranty - BS!

I bought the LG set about 11 months ago. For the first month it operated like a dream. Then it started leaving residue on my dark clothes...looks like streaks of lint or undissolved detergent. I have changed detergents, added less or more, used large loads and small ones, and nothing helps. I have to wash the load a second and sometimes third time without detergent to get it clean. Another problem is that if I wash anything with my darks that is even slightly lighter than black or brown, the dark dye is transferred to the clothes and ruins them. I have done the same thing for years with other machines without problems, but this one for some reason causes the dyes to transfer. I think both problems are caused by too little water being used. Have finally lost patience and will start the never ending cycle of service calls, I guess. I dont recommend this product. It does NOT save water.

I purchased an LG refrigerator on June 4, 2019. LG delivered the refrigerator a few weeks later and unfortunately, it was severely damaged when it arrived at my residence. The delivery company returned the damaged unit and delivered another refrigerator a week later. The 2nd refrigerators left door contained the water and ice dispenser of which neither worked. I spoke with LG customer service and they indicated that a local repair company would come out and assess the issue. National Platinum Services was the local company and it took them two weeks to show up and when they did, they were not able to diagnose the problem. There has been no follow up since they left so currently I am still waiting on how this situation is going to be resolved. Bottom line is that LG doesnt seem to value good customer service so in the future I will look elsewhere when shopping for any product that they may market to the public.

In 2006, my husband and I purchased all new LG appliances from Home Depot and paid for the 4-year extended warranty. We have the WM2077CW washing machine, LFX25960ST French Door Refrigerator, DLG3788W Dryer, LDF6810ST Dishwasher and LRG30355ST Gas Range. We have had problems with every single appliance, have had the extended warranty repairs done on each one, and continue to have problems. The latest is the washer has stopped draining and the drain pump motor is broken. Our warranty expired on 14 Apr 11 and both Home Depot and LG will do nothing. The refrigerator is now leaking water all over our kitchen floor, and the knobs on the gas stove are cracked again--they have been replaced twice already! Please do not purchase anything from LG! I know we should have been worried when the washer broke the first week we got it home, the dishwasher leaked and the refrigerator water dispenser has never worked properly, even after multiple service calls. Even the extended warranty hasnt saved us from having to replace parts that arent covered. I wish we never bought LG, and Home Depot hasnt stood behind them.

I remodeled my house and brought 4 LG products. Microwave for over the range, sitting in my living room, home alone and heard a noise. I go into the kitchen to find the handle of the microwave on the floor, repairman man said it was cracked. Microwave was 1 month old. Dishwasher 2 mo. old, the latch cracked and had to be replaced. Range, oven door almost fell off, missing 2 screws. The best for last, my horror story of the French door fridge, needed twice to replace the motherboard (I think it came from China?), the freezer door did not lock well, escaping cold air, the ice maker had to be replaced. I had put hardwood all thru the house including the kitchen. I now have some leak coming from the bottom of the fridge, it is now ruining my hardwood. The appliance man will be out this Tuesday. All appliances were purchased the same day and 3 out of 4 had issues within the first month. I was looking to see if there were any recalls or class actions suits. These product in my case were just terrible, even the stainless steel has an issue. I put my old Amana fridge in the garage, mine is about 20 years old and still works like a charm. I WILL NEVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT, life is good my foot. I bought the LG Front Loader 4 years ago at Home Depot and it has ruined comforters, sheets and clothes with greasy black stains which dont come out, especially if you dont notice them and put the item in the dryer. If you catch them and rewash with bleach, they become light brown stains, but dont go away. It doesnt happen all the time, but often enough to completely frustrate us. We always use the detergents, no softeners and some liquid bleach. We run the tub clean cycle once a month and wipe out the nasty black gunk from the gasket regularly. Bought stove in October of 2016. Didnt have gas line installed until Dec, but noticed when we reached up to use microwave we were accidentally turning one or both burners on. Called J. C. Penney about problem but were told that no gas would be released until the knob was turned far enough to light the burner and we would hear the clicking and would have time to turn it off. When we had gas installed to stove we found that wasnt the case. Just a small bump would allow gas to release without warning. Very dangerous situation. At 64 years old we should not have to worry about such a problem. Spoke to J. C. Penney about the problem and were told if we had bought their warranty they could look into it. We were told to contact LG but are put in hold for literally an hour or more until I get frustrated and hang up. Do not waste your time trying to get LG to help you. They have a lint filter that will not fit unless they redesigned your dryer. They will delay, they will put you through hell and still get you nowhere even if they sent you a filter for the dryer it still will not fit. They know its a problem. They are not really helping people because it would cost them way too much to redesign each dryer thats out there and there is no class action suit then Im aware of currently. If this website ConsumerAffairs.com is willing to step in and really help people they should see who sent this and passed my contact information which you have my permission to do so to those class action attorneys that will get something done about this. I have spent too much time getting nowhere with LG support. They dont even have the decency to follow up and actually help in a real way. I went for brand name and would have chose otherwise could I do it again. I have always trusted LG products but the fridge was somewhat of a disappointment compared to other products. The shelving was too close together and didnt hold up well, was often difficult to change the shelves because the metal would catch on the sides and stick. The crisper drawers would often stick and the plastic was cheaply made. But I like the size and location of the freezer, space inside the lower area. A shelf on the door that provided an area to put the milk. There was an area to put eggs without the carton and the crisper drawers were clear.

My newly purchased LG refrigerator had a continuous leak/drip from the water dispenser immediately after installation. After six attempts to fix it, LG decided to deem it normal rather than fixing the problem. A few weeks after owning this refrigerator, water started dripping from the water filter inside the refrigerator. LG refused to fix this issue and told me that I would have to pay for the repair. In my interactions with LG, the customer service supervisor was demeaning, condescending, rude, and unhelpful. I wrote LG corporate headquarters to notify them of my horrible experience with LG and to ensure that they knew that I was unhappy with their product and their customer service. Their response was that the refrigerator was working as designed. They never apologized for my experience. After owning this refrigerator for less than 3 months and it never working right, I decided to call the place that I purchased to exchange to a different brand. I will never purchase any LG product again and I would recommend that you look at a different brand like KitchenAid or Kenmore.
