Top load washing machine wt1201c - This washing machine I thought would be great. It turns out that the clothes would be self-balanced. It work for while but now I have to constantly watch it and rearrange the clothes throughout the washing process. What a pain! It takes hours to wash one load. It appears that the tub is detached from the washer and it vibrates so much and makes so much noise it is unbearable. I dislike this washer so much and I will never purchase an LG product again.
LG Customer care is a big hogwash. They are fooling consumers. They simply phone and hung up. This problem has been continuing since December 2020. Despite owning LG machine which is under warranty, washing clothes by hand as new machine is underperforming. Pls be careful before purchasing the product. Defective product profile.
Less than a year old and poor customer service. We purchased a front load washer and dryer. Our dryer stopped working and would go from 1:55 dry time to 01 in a minute and would not dry. Repair people came to fix the problem. However it is still not fixed and washer is leaking and ruined our new wood floor in the process. I wanted a refund for a washer and dryer we purchased less than a year ago to purchase new and a different brand because we continue to have issues with it. Customer service was not helpful and said they don’t do refunds and that someone from repair has to state it is defective. As a full time teacher it is hard to find time to keep having people come to repair it and only to have different issues with it.
My three-year-old LG front loader washer (WM2301HR) started making grinding noises as it slowly stopped tumbling and spinning. After pulling the back panel off, I discovered the splines in the rotor were worn smooth. This is a warranty part - 10 years. LG will only provide the part if I call an authorized LG tech to my house. $100 to show up, plus $60 per hour to replace a $70 part. Are you kidding LG? Never again. Never again.
Refrigerator has been defective since purchase. Have now owned the above refrigerator for 5 years. It was purchased brand new from Home Depot. During this time, the compressor has been replaced 4 times. The Evaporator has been replaced. The Condenser has been replaced. They think the control board may not be working either. Additionally, 4 times, during these various replacements, it has stopped cooling within two days of the parts replacement, requiring another tech to make a service call and charge the Freon. In summary, I have been without a refrigerator for a total of 73 days. I have lost 5 refrigerators full of food due to spoilage and missed over 45 hours of work waiting for a tech. Despite numerous technicians stating that it needed to be replaced, LG has not acted on their advice. Stay away from LG refrigerators!
The people who sold me it promised to come fix it if I ever needed it, they lied. My dryer sucks, I have to run it twice just to get my clothes dried. Worse thing ever. Absolutely awful. I will never buy an LG again.
LED lighting, touchable black stainless steel, the layout of the shelving and 10 year limited warranty. I have used LG products before and have always been satisfied. The refrigerator was also on sale for a great price. I would recommend this product to friends and family. It had most of the features I was looking for. I have been very happy with all the features of this product and cannot think of any thing that I would change or add. LG products are very well made. I looked at several other brands and styles and choose the LG. I really liked the sleek look. The shelving layout was better than what I was looking for and the price was great. I was very happy with this product. I would say all my expectations and then some were met.
I actually bought the same model. I really enjoy the sliding shelves and that the ice maker is in the door and not taking up space in the refrigerator itself. This newer model now has two ice maker and in my home that will really come in handy.
My LG refrigerator was purchased in 2015 and stopped cooling in the end of May. I have a home warranty service. Hence, I called them to come check out. They evaluated the unit and concluded it was a very common cooling issue with LG refrigerators. They ordered the parts from LG as the refrigerator is still under warranty. It’s been almost one months since the parts were ordered. Yet we still haven’t heard back from LG the estimated arrival time of parts. The LG’s response was the parts were out of stock. It’s been extremely frustrating experience with LG. If there is an option not to give any star, LG deserves 0!!!!
My refrigerator (LSXS22423) a side by side is 2 years and 3 months old. Wasnt making ice Sunday and by Monday everything in freezer was thawed. The compressor is shot!! Really... 2 years??? I was told by a person who SELLS LG refrigerators that he wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Their compressors are known to die after about 2 years... Really?? He said even if you wanted to repair it they would use the same compressor model that failed and since so many of them are failing we are looking at a 3 to 4 month wait-list... Really?? I bought a whole new LG kitchen 2 years ago. My fault I did not read the reviews first. Totally my fault, but when you pay $1700 for a fridge you expect more than two years out of it. I had a GE before and had it for 18 years. Still worked when I bought my precious LG. I am a senior who has to watch his money and this situation just makes me sick. I dont deserve this nor do any of the other LG customers who have been screwed. Where is the Quality Control?? It is a crime and you should be ashamed. 2 years... REALLY?? Yeah, really!!!
I like the refrigerator, however, it stops working when it needs to be cleaned. The ice maker does not work and the door racks break easily. It is not children friendly.
I have an LG fridge model LTC223505ST that has been a problem since the year after I bought it. I have had LG repairmen come out 4 times, twice in the last two months and there is still ice build up under the crisper and in the freezer. My husband slipped and almost fell in the kitchen because water had leaked from the fridge all over the floor. Ive told customer service that I have a lemon but they dont seem to care. And I hear that LG doesnt like to replace their models that dont work. They are the worst appliance company and I will never buy another LG. Customers matter, too bad they dont know it.
I purchased it in January 2011 at Home Depot. As of this week in June 2013, the refrigerator runs non-stop and the freezer frosts over. The refrigerator part does not keep food cold, only cool. LG customer service was like talking to a wall. I also bought a washer: a full tub without an agitator and water saver. The tub never fills up enough to cover the clothing I end up pouring buckets of water in the tub to fill over the clothing. The agitation is so slight that stains and dirt are rarely removed. NEVER EVER buy an LG product. They are high priced junk.
I gave it 18 months of aggravation washing... I do not see how bumping the clothes around in limited water will get my clothes clean. I use the extra rinse button and my clothes still smell of BO, stains are still there. I am tired of ranting about the washer EVERY TIME I use it... I do not get how they think clothes will come clean with this system. I HATE IT. I HATE IT.
Back in about June of 2017 my husband and I purchased a new stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. As of today, August 14th, 2020, we have had to purchase a new dishwasher, which we waited about 6 months for the so-called part to come in, which ultimately did not fix the problem. By that time we were so fed up with LG, we said forget and purchased a different brand. Next is our stove, ha! The stainless steel has scratches and the black flat top is terrible looking, oh and the self cleaner is a joke! On to the refrigerator. We have had a technician out 5 times to troubleshoot the ice maker. Today, realized the compressor is now bad and are waiting for a new one to come in. Lastly, the microwave lights stopped working almost immediately. We thought at first it was some kind of energy saver since they would go off and on periodically. Unfortunately, it was yet another defect in our LG bundle of crap. We will NEVER purchase LG products again.
I purchased an LG model # LRFD22850ST about 5 years ago. On and off for the last 5 years, my fire alarms would go off. We could never find what the cause was. Thought maybe it was just the batteries needing to be replaced in my alarms. Never thought it could be the lights inside our refrigerator. Then one day, I opened up the refrigerator to the smell of burnt plastic. The light fixture cover was melted to the refrigerator. The sockets were black, and the food on the top shelf was as hot as if it just came out of the oven. I peeled off the light fixture and was able to get the light bulbs out. I unplugged the entire unit and called LG. They told me there was a problem (I later discovered there was a class action lawsuit) and that they would send someone out to fix the problem. No charge to me. I was told that I should be fine to plug the unit back in but to make sure not to put any light bulbs in. They set up an appointment with a service provider they chose. The service provider called me and LG and refused to take the call. They said it was very difficult to deal with LG and were never able to get the parts needed. LG then chose another service provider. Same story. They refused the call for same reason. LG then informed me that they ran out of service providers in my area and that my case was being transferred to the Locator Department (I guess this happens quite a bit for the company to set up an entire department to find people / someone to service their appliances!). They said that would take 5 - 7 business days. Of course, this was on a Thursday and Columbus Day is on Monday. So they probably wont even start to look till Tuesday, which means seven business days is actually more like 2 weeks. But I should be ok to plug it back in and wait all that time and take the chance that my house will burn down! I have spoken to several repair companies and many salespeople, and all seem to believe that if an appliance goes on fire you should never plug it back in. So Im off to buy another appliance. Dont think I will ever get anything from LG. Customer service was horrible. If youre looking at appliances, I would think twice on an LG product.
I purchased an LG stove with a double oven 20 months ago. The oven has been a huge nightmare the entire time. It preheats but after you put the food in it begins to stop heating ending up taking 90 minutes for 15 minute rolls. Ive had repair come out 3 times but they say thats how it is supposed to be. Meanwhile I have to stand there and monitor it, waiting for it to quit heating. I have lost hundreds of dollars in meat and food. No recall or help, just a very expensive crap shoot. Ruined thanksgivings, many dinners, with raw meat. I asked to return it before the warranty expired 3 times -- they wouldnt do it. Never buy this appliance. It doesnt work and they wont honor the warranty.
I have an LG all-in-one washer/dryer at my wifes salon for washing towels - it has broken down twice now in a year. I bought an extended commercial warranty for it as the regular LG warranty does not cover usage in a salon. First, both drain pumps broke down - covered by the warranty so we were just inconvenienced by having to go to the local Laundromat for a couple of weeks (dont want to wash the towels at home as you never know what kind of foot fungus the customers might have). Next, one drain pump broke down and the repair guy said the drain hose underneath the machine had cracked and was leaking. My bet is that he broke the hose as it is underneath the machine and there is no way otherwise it could have been broken. The pump replacement was covered but not the hose, so we wound up spending $250 for parts and labor plus the inconvenience of having to use the local Laundromat for another 2 weeks.Last summer, my LG TROMM steam washer (which has always had the moldy, stinky rubber gasket problem requiring frequent cleaning) started giving the LE error signal which according to the book means the motor is overheating. Its 5 yrs old now and out of warranty of course. I unplugged the machine and let it sit for 30 minutes and it started working again. Same problem 2 months later, same fix. Ditto for the next 8 months. This morning again, the LE error symbol and no matter how long I let it sit, no workee. No more LG products for me! While LG is better than the typical made-in-China junk flooding our stores, it is not that much better to justify the high price.
I brought a LG double oven stove LDE5415 beautiful looking! Not impressed. The stove knobs are on the front and are very easy to turn on, accidentally by pressing them. This is a very dangerous, as it has happened to me twice! The oven racks are hard to put in and the easy clean feature doesnt really clean up messes easy! I have email LG and havent heard from them on the issue of the knobs! I would think that a company like LG would put some kind of safety feature on the knobs!
My LG refrigerator LFC23760SW started breaking after a few months of normal use (we dont have any children at home), just my husband and I and we take care of our things. Purchased in 2009 and the problems with this piece of expensive junk (which cost around $2000) started fairly soon. All the shelves have literately fallen apart. Just placing an item on one of the main shelves caused it to break on both sides so I had to remove it. Now we have almost no shelves left in this horrible excuse for an appliance. LG response: They will sell us more shelves of the same quality at the price of $90 per shelf. Never again will I purchase one of their items.
I purchased an LG electric oven about 2 months ago. Within the first 2 weeks of my purchase, the left front and back burners just stopped working. I called Home Depot, which gave me a number to contact for repair. I explained what happened and the first repair guy came with the stainless steel cover. After waiting all day, I told him that the cover was not the problem. He also agreed he needed the motherboard. So he rescheduled with me to come back. He returned and replaced the board after about a week. About 2 weeks later, the same two burners stopped working so we called back. Again, the repairman came to the house and brought another board and replaced it. This time it worked for 3 days and the same burners arent working again. I have called LG and complained each time. They tell me the same thing - that the tech has to determine that it is not fixable. I think this is absurd that you purchased a brand new product and are expected to keep getting it fixed. I purchased plenty of LG products and wanted to keep all the same brand, but you can be sure that I will never purchase an LG product again because they dont stand behind their product. I will be contacting Better Business and if I have to get a lawyer, I will do so. This is not acceptable and should not be tolerated by anyone. If something is faulty you, should get a new one immediately without question.
I got my new French door LG Refrigerator, Model #LFX31925ST/100, in October of 2011, for $2354.90. The ice maker has been replaced at least twice and currently they say the one installed in August needs to be replaced again, it quit in Dec. I have had at least 6 service calls. Not counting the times they couldnt get here and had me pulling the fridge out from wall & unplugging it for several hours and plugging it back in, to eliminate loud knocking noises. This week we finally figured out that even though 8/23/15 they replaced fan grill assembly in the back of deep freeze (new one has some sort of defroster in it) we still have no ice. Last summer the water spout on door stuck in on position and nothing we did would shut it off. It flooded our kitchen before we could get the water shut off. I have thrown out so much food during the past two yrs, it is insane. Finally went and bought thermometer and learned that even though door panel shows refrig. set at 33 temp is 46-48. Freezer varies. Now I have learned it is currently part of a Class Action Law Suit and Im not alone. Im done in and crying Uncle...
We bought our LG Smart Inverter fridge last year. When we were shopping, we were looking for a spacious freezer and of all fridge weve seen, its layout stood out. The height and the depth (the z-axis) is greater than others. We could stuff a lot of meat, ice cream, ice inside and since last year, we have never filled it up to its full capacity even though weve hosted large parties in our house. It also have compartments inside that are intuitively placed, not just placed there for the heck of it. My favorite is the chiller, its spacious and it can semi-freeze meat, hotdogs, chorizo, making it still fresh. We have not had any problems with the fridge. Hope we dont have to use its 10-year warranty. The only downsides with the fridge is that the egg tray can only accommodate 8 eggs and even though the doors are closed, somehow, insects are able to creep inside. I dont know how they can get inside to both the freezer and the lower compartment. I constantly remove dead insects inside. So far, fridge is performing as expected.
Our LG refrigerator wasnt 3 years old and the compressor went. It was covered under a 10 year warranty through LG. 2 days after it broke a LG repairman came out and said it would be a 6 week wait for a compressor. That was unacceptable. Tried calling LG customer service a few times. And kept getting the runaround. We bought it at Best Buy. LG was telling us that Best Buy was responsible even though its on paper that the compressor is LGs responsibility. They did not want to give me what I paid for and deserved. Either a repair in a timely manner or a replacement. After 3 weeks and help from Best Buy I finally got approved for a new refrigerator. And needless to say I did not get a LG this time around. I wouldnt buy an alarm LG alarm clock.
Man I wish we would have paid for new racks for our old KitchenAid. My blood pressure rises every time, every time I load up this crappy LG dishwasher. The tines are badly located, what is with the big area on the lower rack that had no tines? Because of the rack/tine design, we get about 20% less dishes in this thing. Then it runs forever but that is part of all new dishwashers. I like how sites say to run the water first so the water is hot. Yep KitchenAid heated the water much better. It had a heating element on the bottom that dried the dishes. KitchenAid had a filter on the bottom that was easily removable. The spray arms on the LG are so flimsy. I wonder if they will last 2 years. Errr!!!
First contact on Feb 23rd for compressor replacement, 5 years into a ten-year compressor warranty. Lengthy wait on hold,13 verifiable calls later, as of March 5th, there has been no authorization for a compressor to be shipped to the service vendor. Service vendor made 7 of 10 calls in one day. LG will not provide a direct number to reach the same person twice. They will provide you with a badge number and first name. When you call back, there is no way to get back to the same person. Today they tell me it takes five days to process a parts authorization. They also tell me it will be another 7 to 10 days before they ship the parts once they are ordered.Once that happens, the service provider has to order the parts, and reschedule service at the home location. Both my self and the service provider have been sent to another company called Encompass who then has you start all over. I was told on March 1st that the authorization was in my email, all I had to do was open it. On March 2nd, I was assured it would be processed in 24 to 48 hours. Today, that has grown to 5-7 business days to approve parts. This has left me no choice other than to be a month or more without a refrigerator. The original purchase price was just over $2700.00 on sale.
I purchased my LG dryer in September 2014 and here we are in December 2017 and guess what... Not drying my clothes because there is no heat!!! I also purchased an extended warranty from HHGregg when I purchased this dryer (and LG washer) and guess what... HHGregg is no longer in business. Do not buy LG products, they stink and for that matter, so does Frigidaire, because I purchased a new refrigerator from them 7 years ago and within the first year I had 3 service calls because the ice maker was not working properly... And to this day, still does not. Unbelievable.
I love this dryer! I like the flexibility of entering in the temp and length of cycle or just pick a cycle pre-set. But it takes a while to see which pre-set cycle will work. For instance, drying sheets on normal cycle isnt going to work. I select bulky and it gets the job done. We have had this machine for about three years now and have had no problems at all.
Our LG refrigerator died 2 years after we bought it. It is covered by the warranty but they cannot fix it in time before we move (in a month). They wont replace it or help us out. So unapologetic and cold. There is a class action lawsuit against them. They should recall and replace all of these bad refrigerators. Bad business practices. So disap
Bought a LG top load washer in 2013 and I hate it. Its a constant battle with the machine flashing messages and being unbalanced and constantly refilling with water and not wanting to spin. Totally wastes tons of water which we have to pay for living with a cistern and ironically I bought it because it was supposed to use less water, what a joke. I have never had to stand and watch a washing machine until I bought this evil machine. Oh why do I have to watch it so it doesnt waste all our water when it starts flashing the unbalanced code so then I have to stop it and try to move the wet clothes around so the stupid thing will continue on. I wouldnt wish this machine on anyone even if they were my enemy, its horrible. Im going back to a top loading Kenmore with a normal agitator that actually cleans the clothes. The only positive is that I bought the LG dryer at the same time and Ive actually had no problems with that.
I purchased my LG front loading washing machine in January, 2011. I followed the manufacturing guidelines to clean and take proper care. I also left the door ajar to lessen odors. NOTHING they suggested helped with the black slime and odor. What a BIG disappointment after I researched to find a good washing machine. How can they say the problem was resolved. Thats a total lie. Why arent companies held responsible for defective designs and extremely poor quality merchandise. Consumers spend a lot of time and money researching for quality products.
In 2008, I purchased an LG kitchen-stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. Within weeks, the dishwasher presented an error code. Within a year, the refrigerator presented an error code and one by one the knobs on the stove began to fall off. My dishwasher was repaired and continues to function, the refrigerator was replaced after 40 plus days of wrangling with LG. But even the replacement is crap. Frost builds up in the freezer and Ive been told by an LG technician that there is nothing that can be done about it, that I would need to unplug it from time to time to defrost it. Stupid took me back to the 1950s with that suggestion. When I called about the knobs, I was referred to a dealer that would sell me some for $78.87a piece.I bought the knobs, but I am not happy with LG products. So much that when I replaced my washer and dryer last month, I did not buy LG. When I have guest in my home and they ooh and aah about my LG appliances, I tell them that life aint good! I would not recommend this product to anyone.
This is the second microwave of this model. The first one worked fine for a year - until a few days after the warranty ran out. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired, so we bought a new one because it matched the rest of our LG appliances. This one lasted less than 3 months. Home Depot requires 3 repair attempts before they wil take it back (even though we have the extended service plan on this one), so we got in touch with LG again. The same repair man came out and took it apart and put it back together again, saying he couldnt find what the problem was. It worked after that - for 1 day. When I called the repair company again, the tech said he would contact LG for us and get it taken care of. He did contact them, but we have only heard from them once to request more paperwork. Still waiting for the follow-up call a week later to get a refund. I will never buy another LG microwave. Very disappointed in their customer service.
For a long time we had a Maytag dryer and loved it but when it finally died we decided to get an LG dryer to match our LG washer which we have had no issues with. We purchased the dryer from Home Depot and since it was brand new it has melted MANY items, mostly coats and blankets. I have wasted tons of money replacing damaged items and and scared it will result in a fire. At first I just thought it was because the dryer was fancier than I was used to and I needed to learn how to used its technology but after learning the ins and outs it has continued to happen time and time again. Now I just air dry a lot of items to avoid them burning and melting which is a huge pain. It even has melted several infant Muslin blankets which is not what I would consider a material sensitive to heat. I’ve honestly just been avoiding contacting customer service knowing it will just be a hassle but I am beyond frustrated and after looking up see there is a class action lawsuit for LG dryers catching fire so I plan to contact them ASAP to get resolution. In the future I will go back to my tried and true Maytag.
I have been using LG brands for years and a very well known brand. Always changing the needs for the consumer, and all about making great and outstanding products. The refrigerator we purchased was a side by side, and I like how it was stainless and easy to clean. Also had the water and ice dispenser. Also kept everything cold and or frozen very well. Made veggies last a little longer in the crispers. The only thing I didnt like was there was not enough room in the side by side for the freezer section and the refrigerator got overcrowded at times. Especially shopping for kids during the summers.
Bought LG french door refrigerator one year ago and died on me 2 days ago. Called LG customer service and asked to come out asap but they scheduled me 2 days after. More than half of my foods worth $300 had to be thrown away. I live in Valencia weather over 105 degrees and was very frustrated had to wait for them at this weather. They schedule me on time frame from 10-5 pm to wait for them. Still waiting and cant get out of the house all day since it was a emergency matter of food being melted and rotten. I called local tech to see what is wrong and charged me $70. When I called LG support to reimburse money I had to spend they said they cannot give money back. I was very disappointed how they deal with issue. This is brand new LG refrigerator paid $2700 and main compressor dies in a year doesnt make sense whatsoever. I will not be buying LG Appliance anymore.
Updated on 01/03/2020: This is an update to my review from 12/26/2019. LG responded asking for my model # phone number etc and they would get in touch with me. They did, and told me the repairs would be covered. Great, I thought. Unfortunately the LG certified repair tech verified the parts are still not available to repair my fridge and they do not make the parts so there is no way he can repair my fridge. I have now been without a fridge for over a month without LG standing behind their 10 year compressor warranty. I have now spoken with over 8 different people in 3 different departments and nobody in LG customer service knows how to proceed.Original Review: The compressor went out on my LG French door refrigerator. LG sent a tech to fix it, and the tech stated LG no longer makes the parts for my unit even though the compressor is still under the 10 year warranty. I have spent 3 weeks without a fridge and about 6 phone calls with LG and they are not standing behind their compressor warranty. Im not sure how JD power rated LG so high with their know issues of failing compressors.
I saw signs of rust appearing around the bleach dispenser less than a year after buying the LG Wave Force washing machine. With the lid down it became out of sight out of mind. 3 1/2 years later I pried the bleach dispense tray out to find the entire area rusted - not surface rust but one step short of perforation. Bought at Home Depot who gave me the run around about not have an extended warranty. Got out my Dremel tool and ground the rust out. Now will treat with Rustoleum and paint. It wont be pretty but will hopefully stop the rust which would have eventually taken over the entire lid & rendered the unit useless.
I bought the high capacity washer and dryer in September 2018 for around $2000. They are pieces of crap. They dont wash your clothes good. Literally some places havent even been touched by water. The dryer takes more than 1 cycle to dry. Totally useless. You call LG and theyll tell you that you arent washing clothes properly. I want my freaking money back!!!
Friday I lost my refrigerator, call up consumer and was told to unplug the ref and was to wait two min but still did not work!!! So the called for a service call and when they told me I had to wait to Oct 1 for appointment I lost it. I have to see what Home Depot is going to say where I bought the extend warranty from. I write more later. Hope to get good news.
We purchased an LG bottom freezer refrigerator on Nov. 17, 2014, model # LFD22786. In June 2017 we noticed the foods in the freezer had become soft and the fridge unit itself was not as cold as before. We called LG and they sent an LG repairman the next day. He deemed the unit unrepairable due to Freon leakage. Because we had already lost about $50 in perishables and some frozen foods we could not wait for the claim to be processed (approx. 5 business days) and decided to purchase a new one (another LG in fact!) while waiting for LG to determine a prorated refund for the now busted fridge. As we dont live in a very big house we simply could not keep the old one and have the new one and asked that they haul away the old one when dropping off the new one. We thought we were doing the right thing especially knowing the pictures were taken by the repairman of the damaged unit, the back of the fridge and also the tag that is on the inside of the fridge. We called LG 3 times since then and each time have been advised that our claim would not be honoured because we did not remove this tag from the inside of the refrigerator. We had told LG each time that we were not told to remove the tag and because they had a picture from the LG repairman we felt that this should have been proof enough but no. We did not follow their procedure. Well, if we had known we would be have but we could not do without refrigeration for another day. What annoys me the most is that LG will not even meet us half way for reimbursement. I was assured by 2 LG representatives that the only reason they would not refund us is because no tag. I fail to understand this logic when it was their repairman who deemed the unit junk. We are technically out $1600, more or less. Up until now I had faith in LG but with them not even considering the refund of any sort is just beyond me. I am a very unhappy consumer. The place that we purchased this new LG fridge from (Lowes) has offered to take it back, refund us the full amount what we paid for it and allow us to purchase another brand from their store. How wonderful is that??!! Lowes knows that a happy customer is a repeat customer. Unfortunately LG does not. Life is not good.
Model # LFX28978ST - 27.6 cu ft capacity French Door Refrigerator Freezer began with extra loud vibration while running which should have been a sign that something was ready to break. About a month later, the ice maker quit working on Wednesday so we called a local appliance repair shop to come out the following Wednesday to take a look. Over the weekend, the freezer started to warm up, as did the refrigerator. We noticed the meat felt squishy in the freezer. We ended up throwing away the majority of a fully stocked freezer full of meat and frozen dinners. By Sunday night the refrigerator was too warm to keep food, so we transferred all salvageable items to coolers. The repairman told us that he thought the Fresh Food Compressor had broken. We called LG customer non-service to learn that the part needed to be ordered and they could get it in 6 days but she emphasized ETA meaning NO PROMISES! (this is what she told me). The part was not covered, the labor was not covered, we were living out of coolers and spending $25.00 per day on dry ice and ice to keep things cool. No Way! So we decided to scrap the LG refrigerator after only 5 years, cut our losses and buy a new Sears Kenmore (made by Whirlpool). NEVER NEVER NEVER again will I buy an LG Refrigerator or one made by LG (as some Kenmore Elite models). We have also invested in the extended service plan with fingers crossed that the annual check up included with the plan will give us the advanced notice needed to fix a part before it dies. Lifes pretty crappy when your practically new refrigerator dies! LG needs to find subcontractors to supply more reliable parts when they manufacture these units. Really!
A little more than two years old, this LG microwave (LMV1680ST) stopped working. The turntable does not rotate and magnetron does not heat. Everything else operates just fine. Door latch and switch appear to be solid and functioning properly, so it must be the electronics. I guess I will have to take it apart to look at switch, relay and circuit board.
We purchased an LG microwave in December 2012. We have had nothing but problems with said appliance. If you put negative comments on their website, they cut you off. We currently have no microwave because it stopped working again and the earliest someone can come is September 16, 2013. You can be assured that we will never purchase an LG appliance again.
I purchased a top of the line LG Dryer from Lowes. Full retail is close to $1,000.00; yet this is one of the worst dryers I have ever owned. For starters the lint filter is horribly designed as it leaks massive amount of lint into the innards of the machine. Eventually I was able to install soft foam weather strip into the groove of the machine and get the lint leak stopped, but the fact of the matter is its very poor at drying clothes. The only setting that will actually get the clothes dry is timed drying. All the other settings are worthless as they shut the machine down before the clothes are actually dry. The reality is this machine is barely an automatic clothes dryer. Its just a timed dryer with an assortment of settings that are essentially useless. My 52 year old Maytag which was still working when I replaced it with this LG was a better machine. It had a better filter, and actually dried the clothes with a cool-down end cycle. I dont know what washers or dryers to buy, but the only thing good about LG is how they look on the showroom floor. Their actual mechanical design and performance is horrible.
In a nut shell, LG is designing washing machines that are designed strictly to garner a low Energy Star rating and they dont function as a consumer has every right to expect them to. Main example: set washer to cotton/ normal. Choose hot wash. What I end up with is an 84-degree water in the tub when the hot water heater at 120 degrees is only 2 feet away. I know for certain that it is engineered to pull cold water in with the hot as it fills the tub. Set on hot wash, you cannot even defeat the machine by turning off the cold water. It stops and wont run until you turn it back on. The main factor, I come to find out, in a washing machine’s total energy used includes the energy it takes to heat the water it uses. If the hot cycle uses less hot water from the tank, and the warm cycle is not warm, the overall energy consumption is low. It gets a great Energy Star rating. But then what the consumer end up with for their 620 dollars in this case is a washing machine that is designed to be a bad washing machine. But I think you see the point that the consumer has the right to expect that when they want to wash hot, they get hot, want warm, and get warm and so on. And the washer without a doubt under-performs because of it. It also wont get clothes clean unless you choose water plus. The manual states: Use this option for superior results.” But, of course, we know when being tested for Energy Star, they are not using water plus. Clearly, LG is marketing an Energy Star rating, not a washing machine. They have with purpose designed a machine to be marketable and deceived the buyer into believing the machine works as effectively as other machines with worse Energy Star numbers.I have been to the wall with LG over this. After five service calls and an LG service man and an independent one, they say they hear the same complaint all the time. When asking the service technician and at every level of customer service, including what they call executive services, why it pulls cold water into the hot cycle, their answer is that it’s designed that way and that’s just the way it is. A description read to me by Valerie in executive services about how the hot cycle works was a blatant, probable lie. I’m going to try and get it in writing or get it to read it to me again and record it. She, of course, could do nothing but deflect questions about why water ends up at 84 degrees in the tub with 120 degrees in the hot water tank. When I told her I was absolutely not satisfied with her answers and ask to talk to someone else, I was told in 2 different calls on the matter that she was the final authority and that was the end of what LG would have to say about it. I would think that proving a machine was designed around the Energy Star rating for marketing purposes without regard for the resulting machine actually qualifying as a washing machine would make a good class action. And this low energy consumption design is across the board on the LG machine.Narrow it down to machines of similar tub size as my WM2140C and you can clearly see the absurdly low yearly energy use numbers. Washing machines are not rocket science. There is no magic in their motors or circuits to have the actual machine use dramatically less energy than its competitors. The savings is coming completely from it using less hot water and that of course is not something in any sales literature or the manual. I have the right to expect something marketed as a washing machine to allow me to wash whites and other things I decide that need hot water in actual hot water. By the way, the warm cycle is 58 degrees. In whose world is 84 degrees hot and 58 degrees warm? The machine is 10 months old and still under warranty until mid-May. I perceived the hot water difference early on, but didn’t initially complain about it because I gave the benefit of the doubt as to whether it would function at those temperatures, which I now see clearly that it does not. Then, it took months of service calls to solve other problems with the machine. Pressure sensor problems would continually shut the machine down mid cycle. Turning the machine off and back on cleared the code, but you’d have to start the cycle over again and hope it worked. It became a real problem to go to the basement expecting the machine to be done only to find it shut down. They replaced the same pressure sensor 3 times and it still had the problem. Finally, they replaced it again along with the whole wiring loom and the main electronic board before it worked. Then, I was back to the temp issue. I had no reason to think that manufacturers could play these kinds of games with the Energy Star rating. I bought the machine based largely on the perception that LG was a reputable manufacturer because I was very happy with an LG HD TV I bought 4 years before.
This stainless steel dishwasher is only 2 1/2 years old and must be replaced. I have struggled with dirty glasses and dishes the entire time. The washer sweats after cycle finishes and leaves a gritty film and smell. The inside has developed a nasty clouded surface that must be wiped out with each use. The rinse aid helps only a little and I have also used vinegar and CLR to clean it out. Nothing works. A repairman ($75) said the arms were hopeless clogged and recommended buying a new washer. This one cost over $750!!!
Our LG washer and dryer (5-6 yrs old) have been completely reliable and very efficient in their operation. They have never required any maintenance to this day and perform flawlessly.
I have LG brand washer and dryer as well so it was a brand I could trust. It helped that I got a discount from buying from the same company and they rewarded me for being a frequent shopper. I love the brand and have had no issues with them so far. The smart electronic option where I can see my shopping list is really helpful for mom who forgets so much with everything going on. Being able to jot it down and have it connected to my phone is such a wonderful and neat option. But I hate not being able to organize my fridge the way I want it and the freezer doesnt have as much space as I would like. I bargain shop and want to be able to stock up on much needed items for my family.
Over the years we have tried virtually all the other brands listed, none can even come close to LGs features as well as getting the cloths clean, the capacity of their larger machines let you wash very very large items (sleeping bags, blankets, pillows etc) and their larger dryers handle the larger loads as well, they have great warranty coverage combined with follow up service, how can you beat that?
I purchased a DLEX3250W model LG dryer in December of 2014. I have had problems with lint screen since early on. The screen does not fit its holder and clothes will catch on the corner and twist when drying causing the clothes to wrinkle terribly. During Memorial weekend of the year (2016) when drying towels, the dryer stopped heating. When I contacted the LG technician, I was very disappointed with the fact that I could hardly understand him, and he did not seem to know anything except what he was reading. He said that it may be the electric plug and we probably needed to call an electrician. We tested the plug and it was fine. He also said something about lint buildup and that was untrue. We ended up purchasing a new Maytag dryer since we had family up for the weekend. I am very disappointed in this purchase and will not buy another LG product again.
I purchased 4 French door model (LMXS30776S) from Best Buy in 4/2018. First compressor went out 6/2019. Second compressor went out 3/2021. Been without refrigerator since then. Bought extended coverage through AIG. Been waiting on parts, finally came in and was installed on 5/13/2021. Fridge section still not working, freezer worked for about 6 days then started not freezing. Repair shop has ordered more parts to replace parts already replaced. Talked with AIG, Best Buy and LG, no help. Im ready to go buy new refrigerator and I will never buy another LG product or buy from Best Buy again. Dont know how these companies stay in business with poor customer service. I understand ordering parts but over 2 months without fridge is ridiculous.
I am complaining about a LG Oven I purchased July 2014. The blue finish inside the oven is peeling off, the customer representative for LG said this was a cosmetic problem and the LG Company does not warranty this problem. This is a problem when the company was baking the enamel to the product and it was not done properly. This is not the consumers responsibility. When I purchased the product I was told that I was warranty on every part of the oven for 5 years because I bought the extended warranty. I am going to be a advocate on telling people NOT to buy LG Products unless they resolve this issue.
So no big surprise based upon the various reviews concerning LG refrigerator performance. Yes our LG refrigerator stopped working so we called a local repairmen who diagnosis the issue as a compressor failure (which seems to be a common problem), but due to the labor cost and after considerable effort we got LG to send their own technician to come out on their cost to fix the problem. The technician was great and after repairing the compressor and the evaporator (also faulty) we thought all was good. Unfortunately the fridge still didnt work so he returned and after numerous hours and effort he informed us that oil had entered into the lines and there was nothing else to do but submit a request to LG for a reimbursement. We are currently waiting and cannot get any info concerning our status and whether we should keep the fridge to return and that reimbursement process may take up to 4 to 6 weeks for a prorated reimbursement amount. So we have already have waited six weeks without a fridge and will potentially need to wait another six weeks before we have closure and honestly Im not too optimistic based upon the length of time and the ambiguity that each person gives us on the phone. Although each customer service rep is nice it is unfortunate that LG does not give the autonomy to make a decision even when their own repairmen have given forth their assessment. I realize that products fail but when there is an obvious trend LG should be fast recognize and not strong their patrons along. Its just bad business.
I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased the LG refrigerator my big mistake. We purchased the French door refrigerator on 12/2012. Didnt expect it to last only 4 yrs. Like other reviewers the compressors and motherboards have been replaced not even two months ago and already failing. We were lied to and given the runaround about getting the parts. Living out of an ice chest for 4 wks and replenishing the ice didnt come cheap. They really need some overhaul in the customer service dept as they must go to liars training. Now I see what a piece of junk LG is. I wish somebody would get a class action lawsuit against them. We were supposed to get an email receipt. Still waiting. Never again would I purchase LG.
New refrigerator, ice maker quit and while we were gone for 3 weeks, water leaked all over the floor, ruined baseboards/floor. Called for repair. Have been promised a technician and or calls for 4 days now with NO callbacks and no technicians. Weve been lied to again and again, and still no fix and none in sight. Defective product, impossible service! Never again would we purchase an LG product!
This is the first LG product I have owned. After owning a washer/dryer set for 10 years with no problems made by Frigidaire, the dryer stopped heating. I gave in and decided it was time to upgrade my set (did a lot of shopping around). I purchased the set on 1/28/2012 (WT5001CW - Top load washer & DLE5001W-Electric Dryer) from HHGregg, cost $1701.58. On July 14th of 2012, the washer just stopped mid cycle with no power (clothes still wet inside it). One servicer in the state of KY services LG and could only get to it on 7/25. Power board was fried (order parts will be 3-5 business days to get and install because LG wont overnight the parts unless I paid for it). So now, we are looking at 8/1/2012 for a repair (the washer has a foul mildew odor since it has been filled with water since 7/14). With two young kids and a husband who works outdoors, not doing laundry isnt an option; so I have to pay a laundromat to get my clothes done since sitting for hours isnt feasible with a 20-month-old. LG was awful and couldnt care less if their product is bad and couldnt care less about a clients situation (I was lied to four times about finding another servicer to get to it faster and finally told that I would have to go with the first one). I was offered a laundry reimbursement on 7/26 (after at least 6 phone calls last week), but that was just a maybe. Once the washer is fixed, I can submit the claim for that and wait and see. I am disappointed in the service and product that LG offers. I was so excited to get this new pair and use them, but now I wish I had spent the extra money and gone Whirlpool or Maytag. I will never own another LG product again. Maybe I should sell this pair and cut my losses and move on.
I purchased washer and dryer (LG waveforce topload) from Home Depot last year and making such a big purchase was quite scary. I could not more disappointed!! As I write I am going into 3 hours on 1 load of towels and a few baby items! Seems like every other load will constantly give me the UE code during spinning, doesnt matter how many times you adjust your clothes. I mean who really has time to stand there for over 3 hours adjusting clothes! This is insane! I have had servicemen from Home Depot come out 3 times over the last year and NOTHING has changed. By reading the other reviews I see I am not the only one, which brings little comfort as I pull my hair out and pack my other bedding to go to Laundromat so I can go on with my day. Shame on you LG for deceiving us public in not only thinking we were getting a good product but also saying its energy efficient and for wasting my money and another day off!!!!
I have had my refrigerator less than one year and the fan went out in it. I called repairman came out three days later to fix it and I was giving 150 dollars for the food that was ruined. The same fan went out a week later and two days later the repairman came out and fixed it. Two weeks went by and I had the same RF code on it and called LG for a repairman. Three days later they contacted me and said they would send a tech out in two days. P.S. All my food is bad. The tech came out and determined that the mother board was faulty and its going on almost two weeks without a working fridge!! I called LG customer support and they said I was not entitled to any more food replacement money saying they the LG techs replied in a timely manner! I asked LG if they would pay for a rental refrigerator they said no!!! So here I am I paid over 2500 for a fridge and I have not been able to buy food or keep anything cold!! I have two children plus Im disabled!!!
Our LG fridge over here in Florida, has required 2 compressors and the ice machine does not work. The compressor they replaced stop working 5 years later. They wont replace the part they repaired and now I have to pay out of pocket and lose out on groceries for the week. The fridge was purchased in 2010. In 2015 compressor was replaced. On 2/23/20 same replaced compressor broke.I called and first person said that compressor was covered and all I would have to do is pay the tech. Called the tech. They didnt have any lg techs. They were hiring. Called back to get an updated list. None was emailed to me. Called back to speak to a manager and she said I am not covered for anything and basically she was just sorry I had to pay for everything on my own. I am stuck without a fridge and groceries that I have to throw out. She also stated the first customer service made no note of being covered for the compressor.
I just got my refrigerator. It is a lot bigger, holds a lot more and is energy saving. I would tell anyone to get a LG. I also have a stove, microwave and dishwasher. All LG. I just redone my kitchen and it look beautiful. I have had a lot of compliments. Thank you LG. My refrigerator is so easy to clean and so is my other appliances.
I love this machine. It is perfect in every way. It has all the cycles, gets my clothes clean and has a signal when its done. It also has a huge capacity, and handles blankets and dogbeds, no problem.
Worst refrigerator I have ever owned and worst company customer service I have ever experienced. Refrigerator and freezer ($2600, 2 years old, and $500 food loss) failed to cool in October 2013. Had a third party warranty so called them. They sent a tech who said it was the compressor and could not fix it due to the fact that it was covered under LG warranty. Finally got an LG tech to come out only to tell me the same thing and said they needed to order a new compressor that would not arrive for 6 to 8 weeks because it had to come from Korea! Got help to convince LG that they were obligated to have parts available within a reasonable time per trade agreements. Miraculously, they found the part within 2 weeks. Tech came out and installed the new compressor, got the refrigerator running and left. Later, the compressor started getting very loud. I called and complained and was told it was normal. Im here to tell you that it was NOT normal and sounded like a diesel truck idling in my kitchen! After several more phone calls to LG, and speaking with several agents and supervisor with varying degrees of rudeness, I decided to investigate and found that LG had installed the wrong compressor. It took me 2 months to resolve this with LG fighting me and telling me that I was most certainly wrong with my facts. At the vice president level, LG finally acknowledged that they had in fact supplied and installed the wrong compressor. Another compressor was ordered and a tech finally came out and installed it. A couple months later the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I spoke with several LG personnel again to convince them that a tech needed to come out again. Finally about 2 weeks later a tech did come and verify once again that the compressor was bad. Long story short, another compressor was installed and failed again within a couple months. I then began requesting a replacement or refund. This process was a nightmare filled with rude and uncooperative LG personnel, along with 2 more tech visits that were apparently aimed at disproving my claims. In the end, LG refunded my money, but did not reimburse any food loss. The entire process started October 2013, and ended in April 2014. I have never before experienced such pushy and rude customer service as I did with LG. I know that if I had not been as proactive and persistent as I was in seeking a resolve to this matter, I would have received nothing from LG! They are the worst company! I unfortunately own a couple more newer LG appliances, and hope every day that they continue to run. I will probably just throw them out if I have issues with them rather than deal with LG. I will never again buy another LG product.
Dont buy this refrigerator! 2 months after purchasing the freezer stopped working, the food thawed out, then it randomly started working again. The next month it started making a loud buzzing/drilling noise on and off the entire day. Its so annoying, you dont want to be in the same room! LG said, its in defrost mode, your ice is too full! Took their advice and nothing changed. Home Depot says they cant do anything until its been serviced by LG three times. LG is sending out a tech but even if they fix it Im stuck with a defective product that I still have to pay full price for! I want a partial refund or a replacement but neither will do this, I just have taken another day off of work and continue making the payments! I wish I would have done my research. I now see online that many others have had the same problems with this product. Take my advice, dont waste your $ on this product!
My refrigerator has had a leak from Day One. I noticed that the drawer freezer was becoming difficult to close. Then, I noticed water spilling onto my floor. I dont have the ice maker hooked up, so I dont really know where the water comes from. When I looked I had 1-2 inches of ice in the bottom of my freezer compartment. I have now become accustomed to removing the freezer door once every couple of months and removing the ice. Now, it quit working entirely, and I dont know if I can find a repair man close.
We bought a brand new LG electric range from Future Shop in Duncan 2 years ago when we moved into a new house. A few months ago the push panel on top started to give problems. Could not use the timer anymore. Had a mechanic look at it and he thought we might need a new panel which might cost $800 which we were not willing to pay as we think it might be loose connections. I called LG twice, they were supposed to call me back but I never got a reply. Today the start button on the oven is not working. What will happen next? We have had ovens for 15-20 years without problems. Does this mean we have to replace a panel for $1000 with taxes and labor or buy a new oven? After 2 years??? We are at the end of our ropes. Who can help?
I purchased a fridge from Home Depot on July 18th 2020, May 20th 2021 it started making noises and read an ERROR CODE, I called LG the first available day, I was sent thru the warranty service company and dealt with them scheduling a tech that didnt come prepared with the correct equipment to even work on the thing, then was told the wrong parts were ordered, waited on new parts and then the warranty company kept scheduling a tech that wasnt certified to work on the fridge so the system was cancelling the appointment. Finally on June 15th I spoke with a case manager at LG who assured me she was the one dealing with my case and would have it taken care of in 7-10 business days.On June 29th I received a text message asking for yet another picture of the product tag located inside. Which I immediately returned.. I lost over $500 dollars in food and was refunded $200 for that.. Now here we are July 9th. I called today to see what was going on, the rep would NOT give me her name, she called me a liar and hung up on me, when I called back to ask for a supervisor I was told there were NONE available and it would take 72 hours for one to get in contact with me. At this point I will be contacting a lawyer to see what the next steps are that can be taken, this has been the worst experience EVER. I have children and going almost 2 months without a fridge is UNCALLED FOR.. I would not recommend buying any LG PRODUCTS because the customer service and the warranty company they deal with are terrible!!!!
We have had the worst experience with our front load LG Washer. It does not wash clean, the clothes come out dirty. It does not wash and rinse with enough water, sometimes when a load is in the rinsing stage I look inside, I can see some part of my clothes are still looking dry... I have been doing laundry for 30 years, I had Whirlpool, Samsung washers, I never encountered any problem. With LG it is a headache, I never had to use bleach, now I find myself using bleach when washing my towels. This is not my only problem. The machine displays 53 minutes for a cycle but then the whole process ends up taking like 2 hours. Our machine is under warranty so we called them twice and both times the repairman came and basically said that there is nothing wrong with our machine, it is doing what is supposed to do. I believe that it was not built right, there was be some errors in the way they designed it. It should not even been called LG washing machine, it should be called LG dirtying machine. I will never buy any LG products again.
Our front-loading washer, bought through Best Buy 6 months ago, has a soap dispenser that will not properly drain. LG customer service, now contacted 5-6 times, will not fix the problem without a proper paper receipt. Nothing I have is good enough for them. The most frustrating experience for a brand new appliance.
We purchased an top of the line all stainless steel LG Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in 2009 and from day 1 had nothing but trouble with both of them. The washer was constantly out of balance even though the washer had the true balance system, then the computer board went bad, then the door switch and drain pump quit. The dryer has never dried correctly, it always takes about double the normal time to thoroughly dry. It has cost me over $500.00 to keep them running for less than 5 years, LG should be in the junk business as they excel at it.
I bought an LG microwave and 1 year later the handle broke. They came out and replaced it. Then 6 months later, the glass fell. They came out and fixed it. Then the 2 months the heating gauge didnt work. Someone came out again. Why is it that this expensive microwave keeps having issues and the warranty is only for 1 year! After all repairs, I still have problems with the plastic inter parts breaking. Whats with LG product?
My refrigerator was purchased in August 2017. Now 13 months later this 1200$ item died between 5:30 in the evening and 8 pm. It was dead. I have called LG every day since and get sent from one person to another. They did not even have a tech in my area, small-town in AZ. Finally got one out a week later. The main board went out. 400$ plus for the part, 4 to 6 weeks to get one. By the time Im am done, if ever it will cost almost as much as mine did new for the repair. Stay away from LG!!!
Had the range for 1 year. Had an extended warranty. Called service right after Thanksgiving because the range didnt heat up - needed a thermostat. Then was told I needed a control board which was on backorder. Part was coming from Korea and no one knew when it would be arriving. How can LG sell products and cant supply parts? The model range that I have is still actively being sold in the stores. How can they sell products without being able to obtain parts? I gave away my old stove which never broke down. They dont make products like they used to. It was hard to go thru the holidays without a range. I will never buy an LG product again. I have an LG microwave and refrigerator but will replace them when the time comes with a different manufacturer. The store that I bought the range from didnt help so finally today 01/07/15 the warranty company will refund some money. Thankfully I finally found someone that cared.
Purchased the 7.3 cu. ft. Electric Double Oven Range with ProBake Convection (LDE4415ST), EasyClean and Infrared Heating System on 9/17/2016. I love the double oven. I notice the knobs do turn on the burner very easily. My biggest issue is the printed numbers on the knobs have worn off 3 times so far. I have only used the Weiman stove top cleaner and sometimes Windex to clean the top. I have replaced the knobs 3 times because I can no longer see the numbers. My current set is starting to go, not sure what if anything can be done, getting tired of replacing knobs! There is also a white residue on the burner, seems like its inside the glass though.
Bought new bottom freezer french door refrigerator in February 2011, now in December 2011 fridge wont fully cool and water is leaking at the back left and from the bottom of the fridge. Called service at LG and they gave me a company who will fix. Four days later they called and said they do not service the area. Then LG gave me another company very far away and they didnt answer as they were on vacation. Finally after about 8 days, LG sent out someone who worked directly for them and he only fixed the filter and said everything else was fine. The temperature (noted by two new thermometers I have bought) inside was 42, despite the thermostat being set at 34! This man said it was the food that was supposed to be 34 not the air temperature! He said we needed to get a special thermometer to test the food temperature. That was crazy. The food was slowly going bad again. I have moved food in and out of he fridge because I have been told it needs to be empty for fixing and then told I could put food back in after it was fixed (it wasnt). This has happened three times. It is now three weeks later and while the water is no longer leaking, the fridge part is still not cooling properly. Their repair man says it is fixed. Very interesting that the warranty is going to be up in a few weeks. LG says someone will come out in three days. Why is it that they have no contract with fixer companies in my urban area (DC)? That is because the companies say LG pays very little to these companies and they dont want to work for them doing free warranty work. This is unacceptable.I have lost 100s of dollars of food over Christmas and New Year. I want all of us to file a class action lawsuit. I am truly fed up.
We have had this refrigerator for 5 years now. We have had no issues over that time. It does a decent job of keeping food cold in every section. It has a large bottom freezer that holds a large amount of food. The ice maker has been flawless as well.
I purchased an LG washing machine 3 years ago. I have had customer service on the phone on a regular basis, which FINALLY led to them sending out several service persons, who knew NOTHING about the problem. The washer does not have enough water in the tub to even cover the clothes to be washed; I was told to use the “water plus” button to add extra water to the tub...it does nothing. Every load of my clothing being washed comes out with whitish/grey marks all over them, especially pants, workout clothes. And any fleece item washed is ruined by “scum” marks. I have complained continually, only to be told to run the “tub clean” every other week (which, by the way, is an empty tub that just washes the tub, but doesn’t really...). An incredible waste of water - especially for a washer that is supposed to conserve water. Next we were told to run the empty tub on “oxi sanitize” and add a jug of vinegar to the tub. That worked for about 3 loads. I would NEVER recommend this machine to anyone. My sister-in-law owned an LG for 29 days & turned it back in. Bring back the old tubs!! We are NOT saving any water with this machine!!!
Bought LG over the stove microwave on 11/10/20 at Home Depot in Homer Glen, IL. Model LMV2031. Serial 007TAMABC5. Its been running fine, really no problems until last week. When I turn the light on the glass covering the light gets so hot I cant touch. It also make the glass turn table inside the microwave so hot I needed a pot holder to take it out. The whole inside was hot. Im afraid to use it because it might catch on fire. What can be done about this? **
The washer will not spin out. It constantly REFILLS with washer and repeats the wash. It is a hellish way to do laundry. Dryer is okay but it is running triple the normal time due to the clothes being WET. I will not stop until I get a replacement. Have called LG - they barely speak English. I will now deal with PC Richards as they get my check each month!!! This machine has cost me money in wages, water bills and gas. If anyone has additional resources, please post a comment so we can all join together.
We bought a LG TrueBalance washer/dryer set 4 years ago and have several issues with the washer. The first was when the motherboard went out in the middle of a cycle, locking clothes and standing water inside. After almost 3 weeks of waiting, the board was replaced and our stinky clothes were free. Now 2 years later every single load has issues spinning. It will spin for a minute or two and then flash UE. I rearrange and it does the same thing 2 minutes later. After a few weeks of this I shut it off and let the dryer do more of the work with a complete load of wet clothes. I strongly dont recommend this set to anyone unless do not have anything better to do but sit in the laundry room and watch the washer. Horrible set for the price!!!
Bought on sale from Lowes. Front loader with removable drain filter for cleaning every 30 or so days. Has worked well for cleaning and takes liquid or dry soap. Doesnt always deal well with tablets. Has all types of cycles and add water and timing feature along with Bluetooth though I have never found need to use that feature. Seems to be well built and comes with 10 year drive system guarantee. Also has a really good balance system for unbalanced loads such that it works the cloth forwards and backwards until load is balanced before final spin. Older models dont have that feature and eventually tear themselves apart spinning an unbalanced load. Works well and saves water and detergent and has all features. Have had for 2 years 5 adults using fourteen loads per week.
We purchased an LG large capacity washer and dryer set 4 years ago. A few months ago, we noticed the so common thump, thump, thump. I looked inside the dryer and noticed the crack in the rear weld of the drum. I contacted LG. It took numerous calls over 3 weeks before I finally got someone who admitted that the drum had a 5 year warranty because of all the broken welds. Why wasnt this recalled? Why in the hell did it take me 3 weeks before someone owned up to this P.O.S. They put me in touch with Tanstel electronics for the repair. Tanstel tells me they will have to order the drum and will call me when it gets in. They say it should be in in about 2 weeks. 3 weeks later, I call Tanstel and am told, Yeah, the drum is sitting here, been here for a while, when do you want us to come out? Are you kidding me, why didnt they call me when it came in???? Tanstel comes out to do the repair, costs $150. The next load we put in, we notice that if the machine says it is finished in 5 minutes. It keeps on doing this. Apparently, when they replaced the drum, they damaged the sensor that tells the machine when the load is dry. Tanstel comes out again, repairs the sensor and leaves. The sensor still isnt quite right but is better than before. It is now a month later, and my drum doesnt turn anymore. I can hear the motor turning and can smell the rubber band that is supposed to turn the drum burning. I have had it!! I will never purchase another LG item again. Please learn from all the complaints on this board. LG doesnt care about customer service! LG doesnt care about repeat business!
I actually have had good experiences with LG products and have always thought the brand is not only dependable but is just as contemporary as other much higher price. Also the features are good and innovative that seems to be getting even better all time. It was kinda wide and for being so wide I thought it couldve had more compartments. Just me but, I dont like that some foods are not separated from other because of smells and foods that are more pungent or eaten more quickly. Overall it was a good refrigerator for eight years that I owned and used it. For one thing the barrier that keeps condiments and such from falling out when the refrigerator was opened. When I cleaned it the compartments were easy to remove and easy to put back in. I only had to replace a couple of bulbs as far as any maintenance is concerned. Very dependable I would say. I sold the refrigerator after having it for the few years. I mentioned to a friend who bought it for his daughter and as far as I know she is still using it.
We purchased an expensive LG French Door Refrigerator LFXS30766S/02 October 31, 2015. Two weeks and a half weeks ago (at not even three years old), the ice in the door melted all over the floor. Then, the whole thing died. I called LG and was told that someone would call back in 3-5 business days to schedule an appointment. No one called. A few days later, two huge boxes from FedEx randomly showed up. They sent a compressor and two other parts without even looking at it. Still no call. After reading an overwhelming amount of complaints/reviews and finding out that no one around here is willing to work on LG, we decided to just purchase a new refrigerator. We had lost at least $500.00 worth of food and not taking any chances. Who knows how long we would have had to wait. At 12 days in, LG called to see if anyone had called. I had told them no. 14 days in, another person called to ask the same question. I cant believe they havent been held accountable for this issue. Thankfully, we had our new refrigerator delivered this morning and had the LG piece of junk hauled away. We will never purchase ANY LG product again.
Purchased LG LFXS29626 refrigerator in mid-2015, the people at Home Depot were swamped with calls today. “It’s been like this for 4 months” she said. The Samsung and LG fridges made from 2013-2016 are all failing at an alarming rate, and any retailer that carried these disasters are feeling the backlash. The compressor on mine failed at 3yrs and 2 days exactly. I had purchased a 3 yr warranty, which including the 1 year from the manufacturer but doesn’t mean 4 years total. It’s still 3 yrs total. The first line of customer service with Home Depot refused to help with anything, but as most of us have done recently, we had to escalate to her supervisor. Credit where credit is due, Sup honored the extra few days and bailed us out of an $1,100.00 repair.Your mileage may vary but my compressor (the “New” Linear Compressor, guaranteed to last at least 2 years) failed along with the start switch block and a micro leak somewhere in their new closed-loop Freon system. But here’s where the issues started piling up: there’s no compressors in stock anywhere in the US. They’ve been failing at such an alarming rate they can’t be found. And to make matters worse there is no evidence whatsoever that LG’s engineering team has made any changes to the awful design of this piece. Their materials are pitifully weak and often just pot metal, their quality control/fit is ridiculously sloppy, and their whole concept of parts design is a disaster. My neighbor has one, purchased in January of 2015. His failed around last Christmas so we were biting our nails wondering when ours was going to let go. You can set your watch to it. We have 7 people in the family, and nobody is geared up to help us. The failures are just too chaotic. Home Depot has a 10 cu. Ft. loaner (a very small 3’ college dorm size), but it stays lent out due to the recent crises. I threatened to just buy another large fridge, this time one that would last like a Whirlpool - then return it. But they’re wise to that one. The new policy for fridge returns is 48 hours. Same for Lowe’s, Best Buy etc. After all, why should HD have to pay and compensate customers for sloppy Chinese imports that we keep gobbling up at a fever pitch?A call to LG revealed there’s nothing they can do for me even if case is escalated, so it’s living out of a cooler chest for the next 3 weeks. The service tech that came to the house noted that it would indeed fail again. He was working 10 calls that day, and 7 were either Samsung or LG refrigerators. And all of those were the compressor. He knew what my problem was before he walked in, but verified it anyhow to make it official. He and I discussed the “good” fridges for future reference: 1) Whirlpool (said he rarely has issues with those), 2) Some Kitchen Aids (watch out because LG makes some of those) and 3) Kenmore (watch out again because sometimes Samsung makes certain models). 4-**) SubZero and all the high-end units, but they still fail through the complexity of design. He’s been doing this for 7 years, so he knows. But we Americans are such suckers for flashy stuff. Like $7,000.00 internet refrigerators, a 20” LED color display, LED lighting with 4 doors, 2 icemakers, shiny black finish, two freezer doors, doors within doors for the fridge portion, stereo speakers, cameras inside the fridge to see what’s inside while you’re at the store with the cell phone app. And we love to impress our friends with a huge shiny expensive fridge. The kind that are designed to break in 3 year cycles. We rotated food to an old Kenmore circa 1982 that’s still running like a champ since we bought it 40 years ago. Not too big but it helped. Shelves are broken and doors squeak, but it still gets ice cold. No people, they don’t make them like they used to. And certainly no one cares one way or the other. It’s like buying a Mercedes; you’ll get little sympathy from anyone when it breaks down on the interstate. Especially the dealer. I’ve heard more ramblings of a class action against LG and Samsung of late than any time before. I’d keep your eyes peeled.
Found incompatible the LG circuitry with Watts Intelliflow. Once the Intelliflow removed and plumbed directly to inlet valves, problems resolved. The issue: Intelliflow solenoid shutting off the water supply due to intermittent signals from the LG Washer. The Watts Intelliflow Trouble Shooting Guide warns of circuit incompatibility. Believe the clothes not getting clean issue also resolved. Two-loads completed without incident. Live and learn.
After being told that this washer was the most top-rated, we decided to make the move to this HE machine to save water. It has the clear top, so we were suspicious from the start with the minimal activity and agitation seen with the impeller system versus our old machine, plus it appeared that some clothes werent even getting wet! But the information we had read told us that all of this was normal. We were shocked at the 1:47 hours to complete a load, but again, we were able to wash twice as much in one load. BUT, a load of heavily soiled Levis from gardening, which would have been no problem with our old machine, came out filthy, even using the Heavy-duty cycle with extra water! TWICE!! This really is not acceptable, but we dont have a lot of faith in trying any other HE machine now either. We are reading bad reviews on pretty much all of them!
I have purchased several LG kitchen appliances. The overall quality is good, lots of convenience features and pleasant appearance. When they are working they are great. However if you ever need LG repair service have patience. They are the worst for scheduling your service and even worst still to actually get a technician to your appliance. This means that you are without the use of your appliance for up to 90 days or longer. Also the appliances are expensive and the warranty is only 1 year, which is standard and really burns me. When you spend nearly $2000 for an electric stove and the manufacturer only puts a 1 year warranty on it, that says something about how it was made and the level of confidence the manufacturer has in their product. I prefer American made products but sadly there aren’t many major appliances that are American made anymore.
We bought an LG washer one year ago. It started showing an error code last month. I called them, and the code is undiagnosable. For more than 4 weeks, I have been fighting the customer service department, including the team in Philippines and USA. They have absolutely zero empathy and concern for the customer. They have not been able to get my issue fixed at all. And now I am fighting with them about replacement. They seem to have a 1000 different departments for everything, and seem to be extremely poor at coordinating. Also, everything that they tell you...is pretty much a lie!! They go back on it all the time. USA team seems to be even more horrible than the Philippines team!! SO, if your appliance goes bad, you should be ready for a fight and harassment. Not to mention, take a few days/weeks off, apply for FMLA!!! You will need all your day and your emotional and mental energy to get through this.
LG Model WM2277hs Front loading washer has broke down twice . Once the code was LE (broken wire in the hall sensor) and tE code (defective thermistor). The customer service was clueless to the problem, even though it is a commonly known set of issues.
My refrigerator was not giving cooling before 2.5 months (Apr-2019). I registered complaint with **. Since two months below steps has been taken and still not resolved - in process. (I cannot use refrigerator in summer). Engineer came and suggested circuit issue. Again he suggested circuit is ok, but compressor need to change. We replaced compressor and paid nearly 7000 Rs. After checking for 24 hours at LG service station, delivered to me and within THREE days not giving cooling in down part (ice cooling part is ok). Now since 20 days service center (Shahibaug, Ahmedabad) person is telling me the specific part (heater/sensor) need to order. To order that part, I need to register a new complaint. I have registered it and provided **. Still waiting for the solution. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME TO REPAIR MY REFRIGERATOR ASAP. THANK YOU.
I am the same person who reported a problem with a Magic Chef under-the-counter microwave that gave up the ghost after 3 years. I had purchased the Magic Chef microwave oven and an LG Electric Range (LSB5682SW/SB/S) at the same time from Home Depot. Now, the LG Electric Range has a malfunction with an oven sensor. I went to an appliance parts department for a replacement, only to be told they couldnt sell me one because LG will not allow anyone other than their service people to install it. I checked online and the price is $19.35. After I removed the rear cover plate, the sensor, held on with two screws, took me a couple of minutes to remove. My complaint is twofold. First, what right does LG have telling the home handyman he cant fix his own property after a warranty runs out? Second, why do these more expensive items fall apart shortly after the warranty expires? Mostly, why arent these companies held responsible until someone with some authority gets involved? After posting this rant, there is a box to tick asking if I want an attorney to contact me about my complaint. I thank Consumer Affairs for offering me that option, but it would be cheaper to buy a new appliance and thats the problem. LG, Magic Chef, and other appliance companies know this and are counting on it. New technology? Another money-maker for the greedy companies. The one thing I am glad I didnt do was to purchase the two-year extended warranty. Both appliances failed a few days after the warranty expired. Consumer, beware.
My wife had put on a fairly average load of laundry into our LG Washer (approx 3.5 years old) on Saturday, November 22, 2014. My wife and I had to drop off our special-needs son at his group home, and we had to run to the grocery store. My other son had errands, so he too had left the house. Upon returning from his errands (approx. one hour after we had left), my son tried to enter the laundry room via the garage entrance. He was unable to get past the door opening, as the washing machine was found in the middle of the walkway of the laundry room, water covered the floor, and holes were present in two adjacent walls. After entering the house through the front door, my son only made it to the middle of the hallway before he noticed the carpet was soaking wet. He proceeded to find the hall bathroom as well as entryway and closets of the bedrooms to be soaked with water with some rooms worse than others. The washing machine at roughly 90 degrees off from where it should be. The sides and back of the washer were pushed out and plastic washing machine parts were strewn across the laundry room floor and hallway (up to almost 12 ft. away at entrance to master bedroom). Whatever occurred, it had to have been a violent shaking with an explosion of parts as it produced holes in walls, denting of the drier, and water to flood multiple rooms. My concern is this could have occurred while we were present in the home and near the laundry room. This is particularly concerning as, prior to leaving, my special-needs son had had spent the night with us, and he was previously in the bedrooms and hallway adjacent the laundry room while the machine was running. This should be a concern for anyone who owns an LG washer or any other washing machine that is capable of such destruction. At this point, the damage to the house and appliances has been approximated to at least $6,000. It is possible the number will increase, should the carpet have to be replaced in multiple rooms. The washing machine has been without any known mechanical issues, since we purchased it from Sears (approx 3.5 years ago). This is the first time we have had any incident with the machine, let alone something of such significance.
LG customer service is the worst ever. Ive been dealing with them for almost a week and as of yet no one has called me back. They either have me on hold for three hours or they disconnect me. They that they understand and they or that they are sorry. I have a child with special needs and a special diet and they dont even care. My refrigerator its on its third repair. I just want a new replacement or financial reimbursement. I would never buy an LG appliance and I advise anyone who is thinking of purchasing an LG refrigerator to stay away and purchase another brand.
I purchased a L.G. refrigerator model # LFXS29766S approximately 5 years ago. 2.5 years after purchase it completely failed and stopped working. We waited approximately 3 weeks for it to be prepared and life went on. Now 2 years later the same problem has occurred and my family is once again without a refrigerator. This time however dealing with the customer service department had been horrible. I have now been without a working refrigerator for 3 weeks and have not heard from L.G. once. I have spent several hours on hold on many days just trying to get some help. Completely disappointed with the products life span. You cant sell a product for nearly 3,000 dollars and have it not work. Based on the current situation I find it difficult to believe that I will EVER purchase a L.G. product again. Currently Ive been placed on infinite hold because I asked to speak with a supervisor. Thanks Shawn/Sean # ** for your amazing lack of help and waste of time.
If I only had read all the reviews on the LG refrigerators... I would have avoided all the aggravation and expense. I Bought an LG refrigerator 1yr ago. I had it serviced 3 times... Freezer leaked and fridge did not stay cool... Spoiled food, wet floor (accident waiting to happen if I hadnt notice the flood)... This is nothing you want to see when you walk into your house after 10 hrs of work... After $600 in repairs had to get rid of it... Just a waste of $1100 + repairs. To top it off, had to purchase a new fridge... Dont buy LG...
Glass cooktop is very difficult to clean and keep clean. In order to clean, it is necessary to use a special Glass stovetop cleaner after each use. Dont like the dials on the front of the stove. Easy to bump into and accidentally turn the burners on. This model is a Slide in and when the oven is turned on it emits a very high pitched sound thru the exhaust on the back of the stove.
Love the fridge, so far it has served us with big spaces. The biggest (only) problem is the icemaker and water dispenser. It doesnt make enough ice and the water dispenser is slow that it takes 5 min or more to fill a glass. Improvements need to be made on this.
Well, it seems that every time I turn around now something goes wrong with my machine (LG washer). At first, I thought it was the best investment ever. After the warranty expired, it seemed that the rubber that goes in front of the machine that seals the door closed has a slit on it. New part would be around $100.00 plus labor. It seems that we need to have someone out here all the time. We just had it repaired because the computer needed to be reset. We have had it serviced 4 times. Really, why are they so expensive if they are going to need all these repairs after 4 or 5 years of purchase?
The LG-WM3997HWA washers drain system is bad and the dryer doesnt dry! I spoke to a couple of LGs support people and the first one sent out a repair person because the machine doesnt dry. The repair person found nothing wrong. I called again because the machine still didnt dry and LG was again going to send out a repair person... I then called the repair person and he said these machines never dry and that if he came again, he would just check the specs and the specs were correct. So I called LGs support people again and this time the lady told me that the machine only dries to 90%. In point of fact, it doesnt really dry. I tried it using half the wash load and I think that after hours of drying, it was wetter than when it first came out of the wash. I now have to buy a dryer. I have been trying to dispute this with Goedekers the company that I purchased this machine from, but their policy is once its delivered, its yours. It makes no sense to me at all that they sell a washer/dryer that doesnt dry. I have used these kinds of machines in Japan and they work perfectly. It does take hours, but the wash comes out dry at the end and you dont have to remove half the wash to get it that way. Also your design for the machines drainage is horrible. To have the water drain out so close to the floor makes no sense. I used a flat tray to catch the water, but it is virtually impossible to control the flow and most of the time, it makes a mess. This is probably the worst appliance that I have ever bought. At this point, I now have to buy a dryer to put on top of the machine because the reason I bought it in the first place is because my laundry room is tiny. The point is that they should not be selling this machine and the public should be warned not to buy it.
