My LG is a built-in model; it's set into an island next to the sink. The whole island gets warm while it's running because the venting is inadequate, especially while drying. The choice of settings is really helpful.

Before I called for service regarding my problem with my LG range, I read the reviews here and they really scared me. I almost decided not to bother calling them at all with my concern. But I did and was EXTREMELY happy with the results. Customer service answered my call after only a short wait and the rep put me through to the dispatch office who set up an appointment with a local repair company, gave me a service ticket number, phone number for the local company in case of a problem. The repair company came 2 days later (we live out in the boonies!) and fixed the problem at NO COST, as LG gave me this one free service call. I was amazed. Problem solved quickly and easily. Thank you LG!!

I purchased my LG top load washer almost 2 years ago and for about the last 6-9 months, had nothing but problems. The machine shakes violently when in spin mode, will get the UE signal 1/2 way through the wash and then restart the wash ALL OVER AGAIN! As a result of the machine going in and out, I had to lug clothes to the coin operated machine, which by way, is around $20.00 each visit! Ive had to make TWO service calls now and working on the THIRD! Im so fed-up that Im going to look into purchasing another machine this weekend! LG should make this wrong right and refund our money BACK!

I purchased new LG fridge Feb 2018. The ice maker quit 3 months later in late May. I have been calling LG as the ice maker is still under the warranty. LG has scheduled 2 different repair shops and I took a day off from work each time. Each time no repairman showed up. When I called the repair shop they simply said We do not work for free. LG does not pay us. Well Im confused now and Im still calling LG to find a repairman to fix my ice maker - it is now October 11, 2018... This was not a cheap fridge...

I have LG refrigerator LFC21776ST for less than 8 years. Suddenly both the freezer and refrigerator sections stopped cooling. I called LG for assistance with service. They provided a list of local LG authorized service providers (not an LG technician). I selected one, Advance Solutions of NY who sent a technician to diagnose for $108. After identifying the problem to be the compressor, the problem was passed back to LG who scheduled the only tech in my area to come a week later. The tech scheduled between 8-2, arrived at 2pm and performed the replacement of the compressor. I was given a bill over $600, which included the cost of the compressor part. I informed the tech that this part was covered by the 10 warranty (my refrigerator is less than 8 years old). After calling whoever he had to call, the discrepancy was resolved. I paid the bill and was told to wait 24 hours for the unit to completely cool. 24 hours later and neither the refrigerator nor freezer are adequately cooled. I called LG and was told the tech would not be available over the weekend or Monday and that someone would contact me in 1 or 2 business days to discuss scheduling. What?? I asked to speak with Executive Services Dept and was put on hold of 1.5 hours. Finally someone spoke with me but had little more to offer. The tech was texted and will hopefully contact me. When, I don’t know. All my food has spoiled. I still don’t have a working refrigerator and have no idea when the issue will be resolved. Not a happy camper. Life is not good at the moment.

In January of 2016 I took delivery of a set of LG Black Stainless Kitchen appliances from Lowes. I purchased stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. They were very expensive and what I consider to be high end in terms of models. Within a short time, I began to notice the refrigerator scratched at the drop of a hat. This was not my experience with prior stainless appliances. I learned the black stainless just has a black film on it and it is not the true color of the stainless.Just 2 years later, I am seeing the black coating or film peel away from the handles on my dishwasher. Just having a ring on and opening the door to the fridge is leaving scratches. Plus spots of where the film is wearing off are on the front of the fridge and at the edges of the door. The film near the handles on the dishwasher is peeling away. I called LG and they could care less. Since it is more than one year old, too bad for the consumer. There is no product on the market to try and at least cover the appearance of this faulty coating. So, just 2 years and over $7000 later I am stuck with products that are obviously defective in terms of the finish. I will NEVER do business with LG again since they gave me a defective product and will not stand behind what they sell the consumer. I have seen other negative reviews about this same issue. There should be a class action against this company for this product.

In 2007 we purchased a French Door LG refrigerator model #LFD22860ST. Since our purchase we have experienced a number of issues (1st the models efficiency rating is only valid when the ice maker is turned off; 2nd the freezer compartment developed rust on the metal baskets after the first year; but most recently the white plastic water line attached to the appliance developed a pinhole leak which resulted in destroyed ceiling tiles in our basement recreation room). An LG qualified repairman was called immediately but his service resulted in further leaks causing additional damage to our basement ceiling just 3 days after the initial fix. So next a qualified plumber was called. The problem was solved, but that solution lasted only 2 months when the fix to the original problem appeared again resulting in further damage to the basement. We feel the quality and reliability of this appliance is seriously in question and would like LG to supply us with a replacement refrigerator from another manufacturer of our choosing at a cost equal to the price of our original LG plus money spent to repair damages to our basement resulting from their inferior product. At this point, I would not accept a replacement LG refrigerator. Lastly, it saddens us to abandon this LG product line as we have experienced very good success with other LG products. Currently we own both an LG washing machine and an LG clothes dryer. We certainly hope they do not follow the same path as this particular appliance.

Knobs on stove disintegrate & become nonfunctional & break. This is my 3rd replacement of knobs, & I will need a 4th replacement soon. The first 2 were covered by extended warranty. The knobs when bumped, can easily, cause gas to escape. The can happen with the lightest bump, & is generally unnoticed, by individual, until the strong gas smell is evident! My communications over the years has been extremely frustrating, & unacceptable. I was told that knobs are ornamental by one employee. Another claimed it was my misuse because I left the oven door open. Once someone told me I would get replace the knobs free within a week. They never came! I finally bought new ones for about $275. The plastic overlay on what appears to be a metal knob is beginning to crackle. That means the cylinder that holds the knob on is soon to break. I bought the latest replacement knobs less than 6 months ago. It seems to me there is a sufficient case for a class action suit against LG.

LG Oven Model LRE 30755ST - Tried to bake some brownies at 350 and the oven overheated out of control to the point that the brownies burned, the pan was ruined and smoke detectors went off. Must have been several hundred degrees above 350. Technician felt that the heating elements got stuck on, vs. cycling on and off. I felt that an oven heating up out of control should have been considered a safety issue vs. just another repair out of warranty.

As others who have previously reviewed this product/item, I am extremely disappointed in its function during the spin cycle. It never fails that I must attend to the machine during spin cycles to either re-adjust the wash or take everything out and put it all back in in some manner that seems balanced. Ive never encountered this problem before with other washing machines. Since the LG television I bought was excellent, I figured the same would apply to their washing machines or any of their products. Was I ever mistaken. I will never buy any of their products unless they make vast improvements. Now Im at the point where I must buy yet another washing machine. But I will do my homework this time and purchase one that has high performance ratings. And I will certainly tell anyone and everyone who ever discusses washing machines to avoid LG. My final statement and question to the LG corporation is: Do you even care?

Purchased an LG (LDF7561ST) dishwasher about a month ago. Had a really bad toxic smell while it was running. Had to turn it off & open the windows. The toxic smell was actually burning my eyes & making me nauseous. I was also concerned about IT BEING a fire hazard. I ran it again the next day (with the windows opened), the smell was there again, but this time I ran the full cycle. The smell became more intense. The dishes didnt dry well and the next day after that, the inside of the dishwasher was still wet.I was thankful I purchase the dishwasher from PC Richards because after I refused to get it fix, they took it away and said I could purchase a different washer. Liking all the features the LG has & thinking the dishwasher had a defect, ON MAY 2, I asked for the same LG dishwasher AND ENDED UP WITH THE SAME TOXIC SMELL AND DISHES WERE STILL SLIGHTLY WET. On May 5, I called PC Richards & complained again. This dishwasher is nothing but a headache! I will never purchase a LG dishwasher again!!!!

I purchased a Top Load LG HE washer in Nov 2013. It replaced a 27 year old Kenmore that I never put a dime into repairing. I cried the day that washer died. It has been two years of hell with this machine. UE are the letters now that make me want to throw a two year old tantrum. I have literally seen these two letters on the front panel of this washer more times than I can count. I am now keeping a log of every load and how many times the UE appears before I can actually get a load done. It is usually a minimum of 2. Every part that can possibly be replaced has been done.I have one final repair man coming in a week. He just needs to say that at this point the washer is unrepairable and I will get a replacement. It doesnt matter what type of load I do, sheets, towels, jeans, every one will be UE. If I could take a sledgehammer to it I would. My question now is who is making a decent washing machine that doesnt cost a fortune? I think we need to go back to the old style of set your wash level, temp and what type if load. I want to tell my machine what to do and not the other way around.Im so tired of taking all day to do one load of wash. My old machine would take 25 minutes top. A cotton normal cycle with fabric softener takes 1 hour and 11 minutes in this machine, really??? LG, go back to the drawing board and give your customers a machine that we can say good thing about and not turn grown women into raging lunatics who just want to throw a tantrum every time they do a load of laundry!

Fridge stopped cooling so we called LG on July 23. They made an appt for their service contractor Lake Appliance on Friday July 26. I called Lake to inquire if they had parts and they said they have typical parts on the truck. When they arrived, Lakes service technician checked and confirmed it wasnt working, and that they needed a part which wouldnt be there until the following Friday Aug 2. On Aug 2 he installed the part and did some other work to clear out the cooling system, but 24 hrs later it was not cooling at all. Room temperature. He said that they would need to get a new evaporator coil which would take a week, so we would need to wait until Monday Aug 12. I called Lake to see what could be done, they said there was nothing they could do -- they need the part and to get the technician scheduled. Called LG next day (Sat) to see what could be done, they said nothing could be done. I asked the LG rep for a manager and they said the manager was in a meeting and would call me back in about 45 minutes. I finally called them 2.5 hrs later (they never called) and was informed that there is no manager working that day at all, they only work Mon-Fri. I told them that was odd, that there is no supervisor working that day at all, because earlier they told me the manager would call me back. So, here we are on Mon Aug 12 and Lakes technician called in sick. So I need to wait until Fri Aug 16 now. 3-1/2 weeks without a fridge, and I am not convinced that replacing the evap coil will fix the problem. Extremely disappointed in LG and their service company. First LG fridge I have purchased and expected better.

LG stackable washer/dryer, apartment size, high end - I thought! Two years later, a bunch of drywall have been replaced due to a bad washer install (Best Buy) and 5 visits later from the service team for the dryer, I am tired. No more LG anything ever. The dryer is so poorly designed (its the vent less model - dont buy one) that it takes a team of techs to pull the unit out of the area its in just to press a button to reset the thermostat. Its had three new computer boards in 2 years. The techs pulled the dryer all apart last visit and replaced the entire thermostat rather than just reset it. That was a couple of months ago and it just went south again today. It overheated then stopped dead. I am lucky I bought a service contract from Sears. They have been great, but I hope they just replace the unit soon. Its costing them a fortune to repair. Cheaply made appliances are keeping many techs employed these days it seems. LG? No, never again. And yes, their help desk was useless when I had the 1-year warranty. Now poor Sears has to come out and visit more often than I want them to come. I dont understand why any appliance store would stock items that repeatedly fail.

I bought a washer and dryer from LG about three weeks ago and was not able to get it delivered due to Sandy (live in New Jersey). They moved my delivery date (understandable) and any consumer can understand these types of issues. But now I just got an automated message telling me that they are now moving it again. When you finally get through to an operator, they tell you all sorts of different answers (depending on the operator): (1) They are having computer problems and cannot communicate with their headquarters?!; (2) they had a system and computer failure; and (3) bad weather. I am without a washer/dryer because I moved into a new house and cannot get the family clothes washed. They also cannot confirm the next delivery date and if they cant deliver, theyll simply call again. Are you kidding me?! This is the worst, worst service I have received by any company for any product. LG customer service is terrible.

The refrigerators main CKT board failed (blown fuse) 7 months after purchase on 3/12/2009 resulting in spoiled food. LGs authorized repairs first repair was to jump the fuse. After complaints, I received a new board, which the repair facility installed. I kept the old board. Last week the start relay on the compressor failed also resulting in a loss of several hundred dollars in food. Contacted LG and they referred me to Encompass after I received the so-called replacement relay from Repair Clinic. (It had 2 terminals that plug into the compressor and was not the correct part, which is a 3 terminal device (relay/OLP) with 2 receptacles on the opposite side for the start capacitor and 2 spade connectors for the power (line and neutral). (An easy repair if you have the correct part.) Contacted at least 3 other part suppliers including Encompass and all had the same information and same wrong part. After spending $1600 for this appliance and losing hundreds of dollars in spoiled food and many hours trying to contact LG technicians, I have temporarily hooked up a Supco 3 in 1 (relay, OLP, and the original capacitor). I am a retired physics and electricity teacher (41 years experience) and I think their support is terrible. I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone. The pictures submitted show the original relay, the two replacement parts (relay and overload protector), manufacturers tag and receipt).

We purchased this LG LMV2031JT microwave along with LG fridge, convection stove, dishwasher around June 2015 as part of a complete kitchen remodel. (sound familiar?) The microwave now wont finish cooking a tv dinner. It will warm something up short duration but after about 3 minutes it just wont heat anymore. Place where we bought it said it might be cheaper to just replace it. :( Wow, bought LG because of supposed quality. LG says to call a service company to repair or buy their additional warranty. I bought it because it should be a quality product, not needing an extended warranty!!! Gal I talked to was nice but foreign. We did our research before purchasing the rave reviewed on Consumer Report LG Tron washing machine. It was only 13 months until the first breakdown. I called in a repairman and also contacted LG regarding any warranty. What I could make out from the heavy dialect was that I was out of luck because I didnt buy the extended warranty package. Long story short, we had a repairman every year for the past six years costing $980. We had the same part replaced four times. Many, many, many calls into LG and the final offer was $157. The machine does not work and has been scraped. It has taken almost seven months for their settlement. I will never purchase or ever recommend an LG product ever again. Never is a long time!

I picked up 2 LG stainless steel above range microwaves that were both used
I picked up 2 LG stainless steel above range microwaves that were both used, very attractive looking models, 1 was purchased 1 week before the other from different places and they both have the exact same cracked door. The door cracks on the side by the handle just below the arm that locks in place exits the frame. This has to be happening to every single one made since I got 2 in 2 weeks. For all of those who picked out all brand new LG products for their choice of appliances I have to ask if they would have chosen them if the name was Gold Star? Remember that terrible low quality manufacturer from the 1990s that made complete junk? Well its the same company that changed their name around 2000 to LG! How about that! Did you know this? Of course you didnt or you never would have considered LG for anything especially to be your brand for all your major appliances. Sometimes you need to research companies before you buy them. New names like Samsung, LG, Daewoo, Funia, Symphony, Orion, Oritron, iHome, Emerson, Visio, Trutech, Durabrand, Insignia, etc... All have some background, while some of these brands may make 1 or 2 good items, Funia is 1 of the largest manufacturers of all products made in China (kinda like a Mitsubishi or Sony in their own right) that actually makes products for dozens of companies including Sony and a long list of their own sub-companies plus for their own brand name as well. You would be surprised to know just how many other brands they provide parts for. Yet most would pick a Samsung over Funai any day of the week, just to pay more for something thats probably not even better or maybe even inferior to a Funai brand item.Funai has been around forever like Matsushita, Nakamichi, Sony, Yamaha, Mitsubishi, Matsubara, Akia, Awai, Nippon, JVC, and other Asian companies who have all made good stuff at one time but their parent companies have changed as the names are sold to larger conglomerates who names are never shown on their products. Most recently Samsung bought out the Harmon Group which has been making top notch audio gear for generations. Infinity, JBL, Harmon Kardon, Crown and others will no longer be what they once were, this happened 2 years ago and if you havent noticed yet these companies are not winning any high praise from the groups that once held them as top in their field. This is why its important to know who really makes the stuff you buy. Samsung is a maker of junk, plain and simple. They bought Harmon to try and get their foot in the door on car audio electronics and have really no other interest in continuing making high end audio, they will try to phase them out and apply their own brand name audio which will follow along their same disposable electronics junk they have shown to make in the past. You will see nothing impressive coming from them, all flash and bells and whistles. More plastic molded stuff like theyre used to making and they will market it for those who will fall for it. Looks definitely arent everything when it come to electronics, but many will learn the hard way. As most who bought LG did!

Bought LG DLE3170 dryer about 3 years ago. In 6 months I started to get troubles with lint screen. During the spinning the screen would start to rise up above the edge on 3-5 mm, just enough to catch the piece of cloth. Then it would swirl it to a tightrope, which would bring along other pieces of clothes and all of them tight up in one huge spiral. At the beginning it have happened extremely rare, but last few months it happens pretty frequently. I tried to level up the dryer to perfection, but it didnt help. Seems that the screen is simply too big and doesnt stay in place for longer than 1 minute even when the dryer off.

Updated on 08/02/2019: LG is blatantly cheating its customers in the name of Customer Service. They drilled my refrigerator without my knowledge and finally declared that the unit is not repairable after 30 days and 5 tries. The technician drilled my refrigerator without informing me. Now they are not ready to replace my unit as I do not have the purchase receipt, is this JUSTICE? What is the use of Serial Number on the unit. Am sure LG can extract all the details based on Serial number but they want to cheat the customers and humiliate them. Please stay away from LG, my young family suffered a lot due to LG.Original Review: We bought LG Refrigerator and it stopped cooling after 4 years. We called LG and they sent a service technician after 2 days, he did the repair and the refrigerator stopped cooling again after 3 days. Now the horror story starts. I called LG and they said that a service agent will call me back to schedule an appointment and it never happened. I called continuously for 4 days and each time its a 45 minutes wait but they just treat customers like garbage. I will never ever buy or endorse LG product in my life. LG does not value its customers, I felt humiliated and I am writing this review with a lot of pain.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! Bought my LMXC23746 French door refrigerator in 9/2015, It was scratched during delivery and had to wait nearly 4 month for another. 5/2016 it wasnt staying cold. LG rep walked me through some steps and it worked for about 10 months. Then it happened again, but this time the water also had leaked from the ice maker because it had defrosted and we were out of town. This time they told me to call a repairman and the rep gave me a phone number to call. Long story short, after two repairmen, a new main control board, a new compressor and about $600.00 later, it is now 9/2017 and yep, problem still exist. Will never buy LG again. I would sign up for a class action suit for sure if there is one.

I have purchased an LG washer dryer model FH4U1JBH2N for £839.00, and I have received the appliance with a manufacturer defect. The washer dryer does not have the right control panel (no Drying option available on screen). No other option was offered apart from keeping the washer dryer and sending a technician to fix the defect. Imagine you purchase a cabrio car after checking the photos, the store and reviews. But you receive a regular family car... the manufacturer states that they can only come to you and cut the car open to transform it into a cabrio. In other word, you purchase a new machine, and it comes with a defect, and the manufacturer are not dependable for not meeting the specifications. What sort of company is LG? Would you like to do business with a company that does not care of the consumer/customer? Feels like, that what they see are just numbers... making profit out of people who trust a brand. DO NOT PURCHASE AN LG PRODUCT unless you want to face poor customer care, poor after sales care, poor manners over the phone, poor quality of the product and most importantly 0 dependability. I had the washer-fake-dryer since the end of August 2016 and its useless as it does not do the job I purchased it for. The retailer does not want to recollect the product as they state it is LG which has to approve the recollection. LG states it is not their issue.

We purchased an LG model lvc22520sw/01 in 2010. We loved the fridge up till about 1 year ago when it would start beeping in the middle of the night, day ... whenever. It drives us nuts. We are a 2-adult household and never leave the door open. Why wont LG address this problem? Our warranty expired and that was when the beeping started. The grill and back are clean; the floor is clean underneath. I just replaced the water filter and it still beeps. Does LG really care about the consumer? Fix this!

Worst experience I have had as a consumer - ever. I ordered an LG microwave 1/3/18 through a third-party, AJ Madison. It was delayed weeks (not LGs fault), when I finally received it and plugged it in it had a code of death - F11. It never worked, not even ONE SECOND. That was middle of March. Its now May 3, 2018. I have sent in repeated receipts, responded to their letters, requests for more information, taken pictures, cut up serial numbers, signed declarations that I did in fact buy the microwave. Gotten the third party involved and had them try on my behalf to no avail! They now want me to send them a receipt having bought a second one of these before theyll send me my money back for the January 3, 2018 purchase! Im on hold again with LG, 26 minutes into it and the customer service wants to explain the process to me - youve got to be kidding me. LG, as a very American, cooperative consumer who has purchased 14 appliances in the last year and done lots of shopping - this is the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!

I purchased the set of washer and dryer last year from Sears but I have been regret to change my old Whirlpool set that I had it over 15 years. I only decided to change them because of water consuming. Other than this both were working perfect. I have two football player teens at home and I have to do laundry almost every day but most of the time the clothes are coming out smelly and I have to rewash them and using more electricity and water. I wish I could have my old one again.

Three months after buying the set, the washer started to bang and leak. We bought the extended warranty but it did no good. When I told them it sounded like the bearings were going out in it, they told me it doesnt have bearings and we caused it to leak by not keeping it clean, so I wipe it almost every time and it still leaks. They were here 3 times and never did anything about it. Our warranty is up and were stuck with a lemon. We bought it from Sears. I dont think well be shopping there anymore. Please dont buy LG washers and listen to all these people about the other appliances. None of us have money to waste on these products. Shame on LG, and Sears for selling LG.

The odor on my clothing and towels is absolutely offensive and I feel like everyone who comes close to me can notice it. I certainly hope that anyone who has a desire to purchase an LG front load washer reads all of these negative comments. I wiped out the inner rubber gasket. I could hardly get my finger inside of it and out came globs of black mold. I continue to run bleach through the machine as well as the fresheners that are recommended for front load washers. The odor still remains. I want my top load washer back, so I can return to Tide Mountain Spring detergent. My family was always complimented on how fresh our clothing smelled and I miss that! Shame on you, LG. You should be having a serious recall of all of these machines!

We were so happy with our side by side refrigerator. Until after 3-1/2 years after purchase it stopped cooling. My old cheap fridge that it replaced lasted 17.5 years. I purchased this more expensive refrigerator as I thought LG was a good brand (also bought a stove & TV by them). We tried the diagnostics available through the SmartThinQ app, and it says there is nothing wrong with it. Upon researching the problem, looks like there is a class action suit against LG due to faulty compressors failing after 3 years, which they claim LG knew about, but kept selling these. Now I am out a freezer full of meat and have an expensive repair. I looked at appliance repairmen from the LG site, and the two closest to me are based out of a home and an apartment. Seemed a bit sketchy. Also found that LG replaces the condensers with the same faulty condenser, so I looked elsewhere for a professional repair company. Very disappointed in LG as I had been a happy customer up until now.

I purchased a large LG French Door Refrigerator, with a 5 year warranty, in 2016. It worked fine until 2019, when the compressor failed and needed replacement. LG replaced the compressor, but the refrigerator broke down again the next month. It broke down 2 additional times to-date. During this time, my refrigerator (model LMX530776S) and approx. 50 other models, were identified as DEFECTIVE and covered by a Class Action Suit. At this point, I requested that LG replace my refrigerator. As stated above, the Customer Service Dept. became totally curt and unhelpful. They lied to me about the status of my claim and repeatedly declined to connect me to a manager. Once I received an email from the Problem Solution Dept., that I was later informed didn’t exist! LG dragged this out until my warranty expired and never fixed my fridge. I will NEVER Buy Another LG Product Again.

My LG side by side refrigerator freezer stopped working 8/5/21. Was purchased in 2015. Called customer service and was provided authorized servicemen, (3). Called and neither were able to assist. One was out of business. Upon speaking again, customer service explained authorization process (1-3) weeks. Not acceptable I told her. I had a tech to come out and it was the linear compressor. Talked with customer service again 8/6/21. Informed her all my food was about spoil. Working between neighbors and coolers to salvage some. I explained process needed to speed up and I had already researched the LG lawsuit its linear compressors. She finally gave me an extended warranty and referred me to A&E Factory Svcs. Upon researching this company it has a 1 star rating (not good). I plan to reach out to BBB and Attorney General. The part is $400, and labor is $600. She assured me with the extended warranty all would be covered. We will wait to see this. Look to hear from me soon. Jacqueline

Buyer beware! Rust develops in the top housing of LG washers, starting at the bleach dispenser. It does not matter if you use the dispenser or not, rust will eventually develop there, and elsewhere, on the top and lid of the machine. Eventually rust flakes will get in your wash leaving whites dingy. There is no fix for this problem. It is a result of poor craftsmanship. A class action lawsuit was filed and LG won claiming user problem. Odd how the regular use of their product would be a problem that causes rust. Do not take my word for it alone- search “LG washer rust” and read about loads of frustrated consumers with rust problems starting in the bleach dispenser area, in some cases rusting out altogether. Buyer beware!

I have to use duct tape to hold the lint filter in place. I have ruined 100s of dollars worth of clothing. The clothes get caught on the end of the lint filter and twist until ripping. Items with straps, sheets, sleeves are the most common to get caught and ripped. I am very disgusted that this has not been recalled and a fix has not been made. Updated on 5/17/2021: My previous review (Feb 2021) stated 3 repairs within 3 years. My gas oven (LRG 3193ST) will not maintain temperature. Taking 90-100 minutes to cook a pie (45 mins). We had a new oven replaced by Best Buy within 1 month of purchase (August purchase, November install 2017) because the display would not work when installed. We have had the ignitor replaced 2 times in the last 2 years (July 2020, Feb 2021) at our expense because they stated our warranty was expired when contacted first time.I received a call after my previous review (2/2021). The gentleman stated he would work with us either on replace or money back. But when I stated it was currently working due to repair the previous week, I was told he was unable to help us. The oven no longer maintains heat AGAIN only 3 months after repair. I tried to contact LG via phone and a recording state they were overwhelmed with calls to try again at another time. I tried a private message with no response. I AM A FRUSTRATED AND UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.Original review: We purchased a complete LG kitchen package August 2017. They were installed in November 2017 when kitchen was finished being remodeled. When turning on the oven the burners would work, but oven would not turn on. They stated it was the circuit board and a brand new oven was brought in and installed. In July 2020 the oven would not maintain temperature, at times not even turning on. Since it was not covered under warranty, we called a repair company to come in.They replaced the igniter. Starting in January we had the issue again. The oven would get up to heat then turn off leaving food completely uncooked. It would occasionally heat up and maintain the temperature but became so unreliable we rarely used it. Yesterday, February 2, I tried to cook dinner, the oven went up to temperature and then cooled down immediately. I turned off and tried again, the oven refused to heat at all. We now have another repair service call. It is getting expensive and the oven is so unreliable that I would not recommend an LG gas stove/oven.

Updated on 05/18/2020: In a previous post, I reported my washer disaster. A week ago, I heard from LG (Louis) indicating they would provide a new washer in 5-7 days and was asked for proof of purchase etc. I provided that info. Since that time, no contact from LG and they never provided me with contact information. So I sit waiting for them to contact me or reply once again through Consumer Affairs. LG, if you are reading this, please contact me.Original review: After 7 years of mostly uneventful washing experience, my machine suddenly blew apart. My machine was running through a spin cycle and suddenly, there were loud crashing and banging noises, the machine flew across the floor approximately 2 1/2 - 3 feet and the door blew open. The tub appears to have come loose, smashed into the front and sides of the machine. The front of the machine has large protruding dents, the side handles were blown out and the side dented, and small parts flew out. The door wont even close because of the large protruding dents. Thank goodness that we were not in the laundry room as we would have sustained injuries for sure. I am aghast at the force and danger that this machine caused.

We too made the mistake of purchasing an LG front loading washer and dryer
We too made the mistake of purchasing an LG front loading washer and dryer from Best Buy. After just 15 months, the circuit board on the dryer went out. The technician that came out told us it was probably because of the vibrations from the washer which the dryer was stacked on top of. The salesperson at Home Depot, who sold us the stacking package, never indicated that this could create a problem. Lucky for us that when I called LG, they agreed to extend our warranty enough to cover the bad circuit board. They would not refund the $85 I spent having a technician come to my house to diagnose the original problem. I have read a lot of complaints about LG washers and dryers and I cannot believe that no consumer groups or the consumer protection agency of our government have not jumped all over this. A dryer used under normal conditions should work for years without any of the types of major problems that are being noted all over the internet. I, for one, will never buy an appliance from Best Buy nor another LG appliance.

I recently purchases a Model # LSE4611ST slide in glass top range. I was very happy with it in the beginning. This past summer I was canning, the process was done, I laid a cloth on the unused side of the range and put my jars on it from the canner. I went out for 20 minutes, came in and found the front burner on and the cloth burned to the stove top. What I discovered was that when you leaned forward into the stove, the controls on the front of the stove are extremely flexible and it takes nothing at all to turn on the burner. I had a similar experience this afternoon and apparently touched a dial with my body and it turn it on while I was cleaning another section of the glass top. I almost set my hand on it and realized in time that the burner was on. I still like the range, just do NOT like that the control knobs are so easily manipulated. Thank goodness we dont have children in the house, it would be dangerous. My experience with LG has not led to a resolution. My issue that the knobs on the front of the range were very susceptible to touch and that it was easy to turn the burners on without being aware of it. I had a fire on my stove that burned thru a mat and damaged my burner. When the repairman came out he told me that was the way it was, there was no way to make the knobs more resistant to light touch. That this was the way it was. It makes bothers me that something so easy to fix to prevent accidents is deemed not viable by the company.

We bought 27.6 cu ft french door refrigerator in June of 2013. LG should be disappointed at the quality of workmanship. The compressor on our unit just failed, and it will cost us hundreds of dollars to replace. The kicker is not the cost of the repair, or the poorly made unit we spent thousands of dollars on, it is the time we have been without a refrigerator, and all of the stuff we have to throw away and replace. LG set up a preferred vendor last Friday, it is now Tuesday, to come look at it. We are still without a refrigerator, and LG continues to tack on additional charges to fix their poorly made product that is under warranty. The inconvenience on a family of 4 with 2 small children heavily outweighs the damage to the pocket book.

I purchased the LG Dishwasher LSDS4821ST on Nov 30, 2008. I have only used it 3 times since 2008. The dishwasher left too much water in the machine after drying the dishes. The dishes also were not clean nor were they dry. I did call for service during the warranty period only to be told that the left over water is normal, and that the dishes were air dried with a new lg system. The few times that I used the washer I had to clean the excess water at the bottom of the inside of the machine. The dishes were also wet. We bought a home that had a completely remodeled kitchen with a brand new LG LRFD25850ST refrigerator (French door style, with freezer below). It is a beautiful LOOKING appliance. The ice maker works. Thats the only nice thing I can say about it. When you open the doors, in just a few seconds it starts beeping the open door alarm. This is not a defect. It is designed that way. The problem is that the time before the alarm goes off is not settable, and it comes on so soon that you cannot possibly put groceries away before if relentlessly goes off. In fact, its darn hard to even get things OUT of the fridge without it going off.Everything plastic on the inside of this fridge is made of a cheap, brittle grade of plastic. The produce bin doors and wide lower drawer have all cracked and broken multiple times in multiple places. The front support plastic edge on the lower shelf cracked in several places and started to sag. Some PVC plastic pipe cement and my own supplies of plastic to reinforce it have kept it in shape, but most people will not be able to make repairs like this and they will end up with the cover doors drawers all broken and coming apart. One day it just started accumulating a big thick sheet of ice in the bottom of the freezer. After months of just chipping it out of there in big chunks before it started to melt at the front edge and run water all over the floor (which it did multiple times), we went away for a week, so we took out all the food and shut the thing off. After 5 days of being off and completely dethawing, it stopped creating that ice sheet. I assume the defrost draining tube was blocked somewhere.Temperature distribution throughout the fridge is very unpredictable. Sometimes the ice cream is soft, sometimes hard as a rock, sometimes the milk is too warm while other things in the fridge annoyingly freeze hard as a rock, or vice versa. The light bulb compartment cracks and deforms. The cover is very hard to get off, and the bulbs are very hard to unscrew. I dont know how a simple thing like a light socket can be made poorly, but these are. And cover has melted and deformed from the bulb heat (and we are not using incorrect lamps. They are 15w small appliance bulbs).

When I stated the three specs that were mandatory to me - they basically said - This is what we can offer and thats it. They did not offer any other options. POOR customer service and even though they upgraded with one option that I did NOT want (wi-fi) the size is smaller, the product is disappointing. The refrigerator will either freeze produce or it turns to rubber. It does not maintain the quality of refrigerated products. I will not order another LG product as a result. The filter also only lasts 4 months - before having to be replaced. Freezer items get frostburn and ruins the quality of the product.

My LG washer and dryer are pieces of junk. The washer stinks like mold and mildew. It does not get the clothes clean. I have to start the load, let it run about 5 to 10 minutes to get everything wet and soapy then I stop the load to let it soak for an hour. Thats the only thing that helps get the clothes clean or I have to soak them in the sink before washing them in the washer. Its supposed to be a large capacity washer but I have to keep the loads small. Ive pulled out things that dont even feel wet and still smell dirty after running through a cycle. Theres also rust around the place where the soap goes and chunks of rusty metal are starting to fall off into the loads. The dryer almost immediately started messing up. The lint tray had a felt-like edge around the rim thats supposed to stop lint from going outside the tray. That peeled off within a month and it doesnt stop all the lint now. It runs really hot, so if you use the auto settings it will just turn off. I have to use the time buttons to get it to stay on. It cant be run any higher than low or it will cook your clothes. Im sure its a fire hazard. Im saving up money so I can get a new set and it will definitely not be an LG set!

We purchased all LG appliances in 2012, I had to replace the microwave in 2015 and again in 2018, they just stopped working. This last one I had stopped working 1/2 thru cooking, the turntable stopped turning and it would not heat. 3 microwaves since 2012... These are not made to last, its sad, I liked it when it was working, I would not purchase this brand again... And when I complained to LG all I got told was, Sorry. Its not under warranty. JUNK.

We purchased an LG Gas Range in November of 2012. Starting in May of 2015, the oven racks started becoming a struggle to slide them in and out of the oven. We noticed that the blue enamel was gone on the tracks where the oven racks slide in and out. We have contacted LG and they keep giving us the run around. We even sent pictures where it was evident that the enamel was gone and you could clearly see the metal. They responded with the following email, Sir: This is with regard to the request of range racks for model#LRG3095st. The unit was purchased 11/15/2012 which is over a year and not qualified for us to send you the racks for free. This racks can be ordered with our Parts Distributor, MCM ELECTRONICS phone# 800-824-9491. Also, regarding the pictures that you sent to us which have stains on the blue enamel, these were caused by liquids, sauces, grease, and other foods spilled or splattered inside the oven which is cosmetic issue, therefore not covered. So, all they ever wanted to do was have us order our own racks and state that these were stained by grease, liquids, etc. Obviously, he did not look at the picture and it appears he is stating that these things will eat the enamel off of the inside of the stove to where the metal is exposed... LG has a problem and is not wanting to take care of any problem pertaining to their product. Their customer service representative told me that it was out of warranty and that it is not covered. So basically, the enamel in the LG oven that costs around $1,000 is only meant to last 2 to 3 years. DONT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

Our Lg electric range knobs Model number LTE4815BD are on the front of the range and if you barely bump or brush by them they turn on. We’ve had pizza boxes burn, our wooden oven top cover and other items. My son is scared to death (he is a firefighter) and said this range is going to burn our house down. We literally can have nothing on top because if there is it will catch on fire with the slightest bump of the knob.

I have a HE washer that has needed repairs over the years and since I bought it from Sears with the extended warranty, the repairs were covered. Finally it got the death sentence: $2300 to fix, so Sears is giving me replacement value towards a new washer. I was trying to decide between a Kenmore and an LG model. So many of you have talked about getting a Kenmore instead of any other. Thanks for helping me decide to stick with Sears brand. Oh, and I am paying the $$ for the extended warranty on that one, too. Thanks!

Lost hundreds of $ worth of food and medicine. Customer service with the repair co. is a joke. Every day its a different reason why they cant get to us. LG is waiting for them to call or they are waiting for LG to OK the extended warranty. And we even have two service contracts, one with Home Depot and one with LG. This is a $1800 range. A cheaper one will last way longer than that. Called LG, they wont stand behind this product even this could BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN. Imagined if you were not at the range for 3 min while you are cooking with this kind of failure(!) you food will catch on fire. We were lucky, my mother in law was right there and gave a distress call when I was at work. I told her to pull the thing out and unplug it. Basically it just wont turned off, keep on glowing red hot.THIS PRODUCT TOO DANGEROUS TO BE IN THE HOUSE.

Within 2 years of purchasing our top-load (no center agitator) washer/dryer
Within 2 years of purchasing our top-load (no center agitator) washer/dryer set, the metal around the bleach dispenser in the washer began to rust. We lifted the top of the washer and the entire bottom was rusted. It looks as if the underside of the washer top was not sealed properly from water damage. We found many other similar complaints online and contacted LG, only to be told that the rust is cosmetic. Soon our bleach dispenser will be unusable. During a normal cycle, water runs through the bleach dispenser, so even if I stop using it for bleach, the rusty water will still enter the washer drum. There is no reality in which rust running into the washer should be considered cosmetic.

We purchased an LG front load washer and dryer and they both work fairly well. However, the front of the washing machine is rusting! Yes rusting, right by the soap dispenser. It sounds ridiculous that after 4 years the machine is rusting, but worse than that was the companys response. LG does not care. They act like they care, they tell you they care, they express their sorrow, but they wont fix the issue. They do absolutely nothing! They expressed to me that I must continually dry that area. In the manual it tells you to keep it dry! Not that the design is bad, not that the dish should not leak, but that by not constantly drying that area it could rust! I asked if they ever heard of this happening and they said no. Then I searched online and found out, that was not the case. This is absolutely a problem! A $1,000 problem. Supposedly a reputable company but what a piece of garbage! My last LG experience for sure!

But, repairman cannot get replacement compressor for at least 19 days; thats just to get the part into US. So, repairman made recommendation that a new fridge be sent to us. LG though, refuses to talk with us about if approved, when will be delivered, etc. LG says “Talk to the repairman,” and he says he doesnt know anything until 3-5 business days - until LG makes determination.Meanwhile, I have to try and feed 6 year old, 90 year old, and two adults, without a working refrigerator. More salt in the wound? Consumer Reports ranked this particular LG frig model as 2nd highest. I even researched and still got clobbered. Repair person who contracts with Sears said Samsung and LG are bad makes, regardless of what model. He recommended Whirlpool. Live and learn.

We have had this dishwasher for about 1.5 years and it was never good. Here are some of the most frustrating things that have occurred with this piece of junk.1) The bottom rack never stayed on the track from day 1. That means no one in my family of 6 can put dishes in the bottom unless you lift the bottom rack and carry it out of the dishwasher fully. Its obscene. Because the bottom never ever stayed on the track, our 4 kids have bent the outer metal frame, and now it is a pile of junk.2) The racks around the entire dishwasher never stay up or in place, we are constantly trying to manipulate these glass racks to stay in place, but they dont.3) The silverware holder is a pile of garbage, never stays put, constantly trying to get it to stick in place.4) If you fill the bottom, none of the top dishes get cleaned.5) Every other wash, we get an error message of some sort that leaves the dishwasher unusable for a couple days. With a family of 6, and kids we are trying to teach how to take care of dishes, this dishwasher is a joke. Had I known that we would pay $700+ for a pile of junk, I would have opted for a much cheaper dishwasher, as I have lived in places in my younger years with very cheap dishwashers and have not had half the issue we have had with this. I would be ashamed to market and sell this dishwasher. After not even 2 years, we are now in the market to buy another new dishwasher because this one is basically unusable. If you are considering this dishwasher, please think twice, find a different one for your home. I thought paying $700 for one would mean it should be pretty decent, it is not at all a good dishwasher. If I could rate it below a 1 star, I would.

I have an LG front load dryer (model DLEX3857W). The original dryer lint filter warped, I guess from the heat of the dryer? It would not sit flat, which caused clothes to get caught on the filter, mostly clothes with thin straps, such as camisoles, etc. However, on one cycle, a sleeveless nightgown was caught, which cracked the corner of the filter, as well as a piece of the filter guide. I purchased a new LG lint filter and replaced the broken one, but it never would sit flat where the corner of the guide was rough. Ive had 5 camisoles, 3 nightgowns, and now a fitted sheet destroyed due to being torn when becoming caught and twisting around the raised part of the filter. The material gets wound so tightly that the piece caught just tears off.I made a complaint on the LG website blog, but my entry was declined because I failed to meet posting requirements - I cant figure out what didnt meet, except that the question I asked was based on the fact that I had read several blogs where Kenmores version of the same dryer has had a recall of the due to the same problem, and I asked if there was an LG plan to recall. I have also emailed LG directly, with no response as of yet. There are MULTIPLE complaints online on different blogs, which is where I found a link recommending replacement of all 3 parts - the lint filter, filter guide, and lint filter cover. I found all the parts on Amazon, with more complaints of the same issue. Why should I have to spend $60 for parts that appear to have been a defect from the beginning.

WT1101C - I bought this LG top loading washer two years ago. It was great. It replaced a front loading washer that had always been a pain. I love the amount of water it used and how efficient it was. It is so big, it will wash my king size duvet cover. Now, not only is the washer constantly off balance, it will actually fill the washer almost to the top to wash clothes. Today, it spent four hours washing my sheets. As it is off balance, I constantly have to check it and at this point, restart it, to spin only in order for it to finish the wash. Even better, I can find only one repair company who will come out and they want $250 to look at it. So much for customer service. I thought it was bad to replace my last washer after 7 years. This is ridiculous. I would not recommend this washer at any price.

The LG refrigerator was on a sale brand new and nothing was wrong with it. It was the first fridge I bought using my own credit card in my name. It has no issues what so ever mechanically. Stainless steel and I loved the organization options it has with it being huge. It had freezer drawers and fridge was sorted in a way even buying $1000 worth of food anyone could find anything without looking very hard. Best one bought yet. Love it! But it got dirty really fast, you can see the dirt without even looking very hard. The only thing is I can use water or simple cleaners to clean it. My parents and grandparents were looking for a fridge too and I recommended this fridge to both. 1 and 2 bought it and have said they love it. No issues at all and it matches with other appliances they have in their kitchen.

After reading the reviews here, I realize I am not alone. We bought our LG
After reading the reviews here, I realize I am not alone. We bought our LG oven prior to buying the LG dishwasher.... a few years apart. Initially, I did not have any real problems with the stove/oven EXCEPT that the control panel cracked shortly after we got it, like a month. Fine, everything else was working. We let it go. BUT, now we are having serious issues & of course, they all came to the surface right before this holiday season. Just before Thanksgiving, the stovetop burner would not turn off. I thought it was just my husband being an idiot as he was rushing out of the house making a Jambalaya for the Giants’ pregame tailgate. However, it turns out he wasnt making it up.... It was hot for a long time and would not turn off. HS, hot surface, was the code but the burner was glowing bright red as if it were on HIGH. Took forever to clean that pan. My Le Creuset no less. Then after that, the oven started burning everything and cooking things funny. Burnt on the outside and mushy, undercooked on the inside. Last night, I tried again to use oven.... F-9 error came up. I turned it on and off. Yes, that was my solution in the moment. Now I see that the ovens with that specific warning are a SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD. The ovens catch fire from the malfunctions according to other reviewers. This is shocking and a real issue. I have 3 kids. Honestly, I cant believe Home Depot carries LG after reading all these other accounts of LG breaking down & just not working. So, no holiday cookies or turkey this holiday season b/c my oven that is LESS than 4 years old malfunctioned & is a piece of crap!!!!!!! No food memories with my kids that you daydream about, look forward to with holidays approaching. Nope! Hopes and dreams dashed by LG. And forget about getting a repairperson to come to work on LG. I called several places in the area, and they practically hung up on me when I said I had an LG. As the previous reviewers noted, repair must be done by certified LG contractor. Finally had Ultra Wiz (recommended through LG consumer support) came to take care of the LG dishwasher, which I stupidly bought not realizing LG sucks. The LG dishwasher is quite possibly the worst dishwasher I have ever had. Pretty much had problems with it after 6 months. Within 18 months now, I have had the dishwasher serviced 3x. Ridiculous. As I write this, I am on hold with LG begging for a refund for the stove but that will probably only happen when hell freezes over. Nope, as usual... They say I have to pay for repair and then my case will be presented for evaluation by said mystery higher up. So, I have to spend more money on junky LG product to even get consideration for a refund.... I would take half of what I spent on the stove at this point and put it towards a product that actually works. The only reason I am not stark raving mad is b/c we are about to renovate our current kitchen, and I am getting new appliances anyway. BUT STILL LG is horrid. Never again will I recommend, let alone, buy another single LG product. NEVER. I wish we could ban together and sue LG. Btw, the CEO Bon-Joon Koo is worth 840 million! No wonder he looks so happy in all the photos.

We purchased our LG side-by-side white refrigerator Model # LSC27931SW in 2009 from the Home Depot with the 4-year warranty. 2 1/2 years ago, I replaced all my kitchen appliances with brand new LG kitchen appliances. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed the refrigerator was not as cold as it should be so I tried to lower the temperature but the inside temperature did not change (50 degrees). I tried to contact someone to come out but nobody seems to service LG appliances (one company said they stopped serving LG about a year ago due to contractual issues). I called LG, they gave me the name and number of 2 companies that are “near” me. I called them and they do not service my area. LG said to have someone local come out and “diagnose“ then we can call them (LG) and they will “authorize” them father warranty work. Again, nobody wants to work on LG...I did schedule service with Sears, their earliest appointment was a week out. I scheduled the appointment, the day of scheduled appointment, they called to cancel due to tech being sick, rescheduled for the following week ...day of 2nd scheduled appointment, (today) another phone call canceling due to tech had “family emergency”....rescheduled for SEPTEMBER 10th!!! I called LG again and they have nothing to tell me other than their “customer service“ will call in 3-5 business days. I thought I was talking to customer service! I have never had such a problem to get something repaired. I am approaching a holiday weekend without a properly working refrigerator!!! I have been loading home dishwashers for over sixty years and my LGF7774 is the worst, and I must say, nearly impossible to load effectively. Because it doesn’t seem to be designed for actual dishes, it takes longer to load, as I have to move things around constantly to get them where they will actually get clean. The top rack areas for glasses seems to be slanted wrong and are the wrong width. As a result the glasses often fall over and break as I’m closing the tray. The bottom rack is even more frustrating. Those prongs that flop down to accommodate (what?), pans perhaps, may have seemed like a good idea to some engineer, but in use they plop down whether you want them to or not. The bottom of the lower rack could also use some redesigning. I have many square dishes and have to be over-cautious about seeing that the corners don’t extend downward where they will interfere with the spray arm.The dishes washed appear to be clean, but don’t smell clean. I’m asking the world of manufacturers, “If the user has to rewash things, or wash them before using a machine, how much water and electricity is that saving? And if I cover the food-left-on smell with a scented rinse does that make the dishes cleaner?” In fairness I must add that I just discovered that it has an extra rinse cycle and am at the moment trying that one out.

I bought a front load LG Washer almost 8 years ago. Amazing how much you can put in it! Never had any trouble with it. Amazing how much water it saves! Just proves that LG is exceptional. All my appliances will be LG-if I find them on sale. Theyre just a bit pricy for my budget. But worth it!

We exchanged a defective Samsung refrigerator for an LG 8 months ago and paid more for it as well. Right after Christmas found everything defrosted in our freezer and the refrigerator not working as well. Called LG and after waiting forever, told that nobody could come out for at least 4 days for repair. The repair guy shows up today to tell me the compressor is shot (again, after only 8 months) and he does not have one on his truck! He had 2 and used both this morning!! Now with the New Year Holiday one will not be delivered until next week and the repairman hopes he can get out to fix it then. After spending $2,800 I really didnt think Id have to be purchasing a mini refrigerator and loads of ice. Terrible product, worse customer service - save yourself money and DO NOT buy an LG product!

Love this washer. Doesnt require nearly the soap or water my last washer did and it can wash a pretty large load. Depending on the setting it can take awhile, but the usual load on normal settings takes about an hour. No complaints here other than I wish it came with a booklet that described the settings. I bought a floor model so it could just be missing.

We purchased a LG LXF28968ST/02 in March of 2014 from Home Depot and the 5 year protection plan as well. We have always had issues with the ice maker. Well it just stopped working in March of this year (2020) so out of protection plan. LG technician came out and diagnosed leak in the yoder loop. Unrepairable. Turns out after more digging, there is a class action lawsuit going on against LG for this very problem! I have reached out to the class action attorneys to get resolve. I like the style of the fridge but this is BS after just six years.

Faulty product and pathetic after sales service by LG Care. The side by side door refrigerator supplied to us has technical fault. There is continuous sweating of water and formation of frost (although the company claims it as Frost Free). No correct solution given either!!!

My refrigerator has had a leak from Day One. I noticed that the drawer freezer was becoming difficult to close. Then, I noticed water spilling onto my floor. I dont have the ice maker hooked up, so I dont really know where the water comes from. When I looked I had 1-2 inches of ice in the bottom of my freezer compartment. I have now become accustomed to removing the freezer door once every couple of months and removing the ice. Now, it quit working entirely, and I dont know if I can find a repair man close.
