Our LG refrigerator quit working after only four years. It was diagnosed as a sealed system failure. I noticed many other reviewers have had the same issue. The parts are covered under the warranty, but the labor isnt. $800-$1200 to repair! Model #LFC25776ST needs to be recalled! Were starting over and buying a Whirlpool.

I bought the refrigerator July 2016 plus a 5 year warranty. The first year the water flow from the in-door water was very slow. I had to call for service and they fixed it. Now July of 2019 (3 years) the whole refrigerator stopped working. Customer service is a joke. Ive called customer service three times, speaking to three different reps. The first one walked me through a reset and literally said that she guaranteed me that would fix it. She said check in eight hours. I did and it was not working. This was Friday and they are closed for the weekend. I spoke to another rep the first of the next week and he said that it would take until the following Monday for a tech to look at it to diagnose. That will be the ninth day without a refrigerator and freezer. He told me to prepare to be without a refrigerator for another two weeks after the tech makes the diagnosis and orders the parts. That will make 23 days from the time I reported. I spoke to a third rep to find out how to get reimbursed for the loss of $1500 in food. She said she could only authorize a $100 reimbursement. I recently looked at the current reviews and realized everyone is experiencing this same problem. I will never buy an LG product again.

We have had our French door refrigerator for 3 years and I have had to replace one inside bin two times, two different bins, one on the left and the one on the right. These drawers are not made strong enough to accommodate someone like me. In a hurry, lots of food and shoving food in the bin.

I have only had this product for 6 months and not only will it not run but the tech came out to look at it only to find that it needs a part that is back ordered. I paid way too much for this product for it to break this soon and for it to be this much of a hassle to fix. I have an event at my home this weekend with 11 people and NO working dishwasher, and no idea when it might be fixed. If LG cant provide the parts for their products, then they need to replace their faulty machines!

Updated on 11/29/2021: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Again, based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and any posted customer experience comments before purchasing any LG kitchen appliance. I made a post 2 months ago on the unreliable refrigerator I purchased and the lack of customer service from LG. Shortly after that post I got action, but it has turned out to be just lip service. I have provided everything LG requested to get a prorated reimbursement for the refrigerator. I have been told on several occasions the reimbursement is approved and the check has been mailed. To this date, 11/29/21, I still have not received the check and I still have an unreliable LG refrigerator. The “promises” of me receiving a reimbursement, which come from as high up of the “liaison of the president”, apparently are meaningless. Bottom line is if you are planning to purchase kitchen appliances please, please consider my situation in order to avoid hours and hours of wasted time and frustration as well as money if you go with LG.Original Review: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and the customer experience comments when something does not work like it should. We purchased the French door refrigerator in November 2019. We started having a problem with the freezer compartment getting too warm in April 2021. This is October 2, 2021 and the problem still exists. The customer service department scheduled repairs. Nine technicians from two different companies have worked on the refrigerator. Many components have been replaced including thermostats, rear cover panel and the mother board that controls everything. The problem revolves around the defrost cycle and the unit not being able to recover from defrosting. The compartment gets too warm, 41 degrees. The refrigerator compartment also gets to 41 degrees. Multiple times everything in the freezer has thawed and turned to liquid. Ice melts in the ice dispenser and runs on the floor. The issue has been escalated 4 times now. Three of those have been to the Defective Returns Department. They rejected the claim first due to “improper submission of the claim by their representative” and a second time because “the person handling the claim no longer works for the company”. I have emailed the President twice without a response even though his webpage says he will respond. My experience has been extremely poor and I still have a defective refrigerator. For $3,100 I expected a unit that would perform and last for a number of years. The company has no doubt spent near that amount of failed repair attempts. I’ve been told that my unit qualifies for either replacement or refund due to the number of repairs and due to the failure of the company to schedule repair within 14 days. This problem is a nightmare and has no resolution within sight. Life’s Not So Good with this kind of customer service and a company that does not stand behind its product. Buyer beware!

LG HE takes less time to dry clothes. Uses less hot water. I like the front-loading washer and dryer better than top-loading ones. They were somewhat on the expensive side, but worth it. LG has an innovative motor that will last longer because theres less motion involved. I like the pedestals as well. Ive had absolutely NO problems with either the washer or the dryer, and no missing socks! Mine are full-size side-by-side units. There are many cycle options for each: water temperature for wash and rinse, type of material, intensity of spin cycle; the dryer allows for both timed and sensor drying.

Bought the fridge April 2021, had it arrive May 2021. Started using it June 17th 2021. It stopped refrigerating July 4th weekend. Lost $250 worth of food. Called LG, got a work order number.. then no contact from anyone. Contacted LGs presidents office. Got a call saying that A&E would be dispatched to do the repair. 7/13/21 A&E tech arrives. Said he isnt qualified/trained to work on the fridge. 90 Mins later he says 7/29/21 they rescheduled the work order. No one called or arrived from A&E on that date. Aug 2nd, A&E texts me saying that its now Aug 10th.. 10 mins later they text saying Aug 17th. Today.. Aug 17th no one arrived, no one called.. two days taking the day off from work and blown off twice by A&E not showing up...So a $3700 fridge that has been broken since the beginning of July sits in our kitchen with no sign that it will be repaired, replaced, or working anytime soon.

This is the absolute worst washing machine ever!!! It never gets through a cycle without numerous error messages. The place we bought it refused to take it back within a week of purchasing it. The LG repair man came and it was no better. It is supposed to be high efficiency. Sometimes a cycle will last for hours with all the error messages and then it resets the timer and goes back to earlier in the cycle. I HATE this machine and it should be taken off the market.

I have a top of the line LG refrigerator french doors. Its warranty ran out in November and in January my ice maker broke. 5 months later, 9 parts later and umpteen phone calls, no resolve. I have never experienced such poor service on an appliance as I have this. The service man has been out 5 times. Nice man but speaks very little English - so not sure what he is saying. I am so disgusted with LG. I am putting refrig on Craigslist - best offer and going to go buy a real refrig that offers good service. There are so many choices out there. Do yourself a favor read the many complaints about LG refrigerators and buy yourself another brand. I will never buy anything from LG again.

In 2007 we purchased a French Door LG refrigerator model #LFD22860ST. Since our purchase we have experienced a number of issues (1st the models efficiency rating is only valid when the ice maker is turned off; 2nd the freezer compartment developed rust on the metal baskets after the first year; but most recently the white plastic water line attached to the appliance developed a pinhole leak which resulted in destroyed ceiling tiles in our basement recreation room). An LG qualified repairman was called immediately but his service resulted in further leaks causing additional damage to our basement ceiling just 3 days after the initial fix. So next a qualified plumber was called. The problem was solved, but that solution lasted only 2 months when the fix to the original problem appeared again resulting in further damage to the basement. We feel the quality and reliability of this appliance is seriously in question and would like LG to supply us with a replacement refrigerator from another manufacturer of our choosing at a cost equal to the price of our original LG plus money spent to repair damages to our basement resulting from their inferior product. At this point, I would not accept a replacement LG refrigerator. Lastly, it saddens us to abandon this LG product line as we have experienced very good success with other LG products. Currently we own both an LG washing machine and an LG clothes dryer. We certainly hope they do not follow the same path as this particular appliance.

I needed a platform to express my utter frustration with your company. I bought this LG fridge 3 1/2 yrs ago.. Apparently during my absence this summer, my compressor died and you can imagine how badly my fridge with its closed doors smelled after 4 months away. When I called LG, you knew about the compressors failure in this model, (which all owners should have been made aware of). Had it fixed, although the odor continues, even after using every available product. The problem that started after the repair was the NOISE, which is worse than the smell. Had it serviced again, but still the noise continued. Major issue is that the noise is not consistent. It comes and goes and therefore not always heard when repairs are being made. Called LG again and Travis from LG came to repair. He fiddled with the fridge for a few minutes and said it was fixed. Called him 10 minutes later and said the fridge was really noisy now and could he return so he could hear it and maybe even fix it correctly. He said he could not, but would return the next day. He never returned or called me. I have called customer service many, many times, even asking for a supervisor, (one actually hung up on me). Was finally told that the warranty doesnt cover noise. I explained that I never had the noise until you fixed the compressor, but that didnt seem to matter. You said that you would send another of your service people out for a 4th try, but I was done with this nonsense. Had no confidence in your ability to fix anything. My fridge was now a smelly, noisy lemon and I wanted a new fridge (which I said I would share in the cost). My fridge is in an open kitchen, living room and dining room that we cannot use when the fridge noise starts so we have to leave the room or blast the TV to drown out the fridge noise, which turned out to be a bad idea. Not a way to live. At times the fridge sounds like a subway rumbling into the station. This has become a quality of life issue and is no longer worth the aggravation. LGs Life is Good motto is a myth for us. Not only have we suffered for the last 3 weeks, we must now add insult to injury with the expense of buying a new refrigerator. You should all be ashamed of your customer service department and maybe try teaching your people some common sense. Received an email back from LG discussing my AIR CONDITIONER! Need I say anything else?

I will never buy another LG product again. This microwave needed major repairs within 18 months of my purchase. The first repair happened when it was still under warranty but I had to pay for service and when the second repair was needed, the warranty had expired. I called LG to ask for a warranty extension with the argument that a relatively new appliance should not need major repairs twice. In fact, the microwave I had replaced with the LG was over 10 years old and had never needed a repair. I replaced it because it was old looking and I was remodeling my kitchen. LG would not extend the warranty and the repair with service would cost more than replacing it. I argued that they should replace my microwave but was denied. Again, I will never buy an LG appliance again.

Once I took off of work the repairman, said the unit needed to be replace. When of course LG disagreed, and now they want to send another tech out? Its already been 9 days without a refrigerator. I was so excited about getting the French door, two drawer model. I have two complaints. First one is the shelves. I have more tall bottles than the fridge accommodates, then there is a short space behind that I can set something in but you have to remove the tall bottles to get to it. The main complaint is the icemaker. The ice balls come out great, it makes 3 a day, however the crushed and cubed work for about a week then nothing for a week then suddenly its working again. We called customer service they referred us to the local technician who apparently hates his job. He would not even come out to look at the problem. He said he would order a new icemaker. At this time the fridge was only 3 weeks old. We had to keep calling him back to check on the new part. Then he never came out with the part until after the 3rd time he said he would come. Then he wouldnt speak to us. After about a month the icemaker quit for a week then started up again and so on. I ordered ice trays on Amazon. No way we will deal with that repairman again. And when he did come out we were really nice and friendly I even told him a few jokes and he totally ignored me. We bought it through Costco.

Had microwave for around 11 months. Glass started to peel on the inside manufacture defect. Contacted LG numerous times sent pictures. Pictures of receipt and delivery receipt first they were going to send me a box and return it then they change their mind and said that before they could give me a refund because they dont repair countertop microwaves. They said first I had to buy a new LG microwave then send them pictures of the old labels cut or destroyed. Of the old microwave then they would give me refund. I proceeded to tell them that I did not want to buy another LG microwave because I thought they were crap and I should not have to buy another of their products. That didnt go over so well. All I wanted was the microwave to be repaired or replaced. I will not be forced to buy another one of their products. I already have the stove and refrigerator that had to be repaired five times in the first year. Part of a companys integrity is stand behind their product when something goes wrong and not forcing you to buy their product but instead encourage you to buy their product again by the service you received when something goes wrong. Now all I can think of is going to college for 8 years to become a lawyer to sue LG over their refund and return policies. But in reality will probably just use their piece of crap microwave for target practice to cite in my rifle.

I purchased LG washer and dryer (WM8100HVA, DLGX8101V) at the end of November 2019. On Dec 7 I called LG warranty center and report problem with Dryer. Because Covid 19 the past two weeks I was not able to contact LG center. When I was able connected somebody on the line (person from Philippines) inform me my warranty expire a few day ago and they can send tech ($ 125 charge in advance no refundable for evaluation and the tech will quote the final cost of the repair). Is this is the LG policy to respond to customer during this Covid 19 when we try protect each others? (I dont wanted tech coming to my house and get infected.) After simple troubleshooting I realize the problem is electronic board EBR 765 195 14 which I ordered at Searsparts.com for $ 152. I see online customers review. This is a systematic problem with these types of LG dryer. The electronic boards are creating issues. Is the LG planning to recall this product?

Fridge stopped cooling so we called LG on July 23. They made an appt for their service contractor Lake Appliance on Friday July 26. I called Lake to inquire if they had parts and they said they have typical parts on the truck. When they arrived, Lakes service technician checked and confirmed it wasnt working, and that they needed a part which wouldnt be there until the following Friday Aug 2. On Aug 2 he installed the part and did some other work to clear out the cooling system, but 24 hrs later it was not cooling at all. Room temperature. He said that they would need to get a new evaporator coil which would take a week, so we would need to wait until Monday Aug 12. I called Lake to see what could be done, they said there was nothing they could do -- they need the part and to get the technician scheduled. Called LG next day (Sat) to see what could be done, they said nothing could be done. I asked the LG rep for a manager and they said the manager was in a meeting and would call me back in about 45 minutes. I finally called them 2.5 hrs later (they never called) and was informed that there is no manager working that day at all, they only work Mon-Fri. I told them that was odd, that there is no supervisor working that day at all, because earlier they told me the manager would call me back. So, here we are on Mon Aug 12 and Lakes technician called in sick. So I need to wait until Fri Aug 16 now. 3-1/2 weeks without a fridge, and I am not convinced that replacing the evap coil will fix the problem. Extremely disappointed in LG and their service company. Then 45 days later, the repairman returned and said the compressor was no good and that he cannot replace for 5 days. In the meantime we have no refrigerator, he said that he recommended to LG that they replace the refrigerator but they refused.I will never ever buy an LG appliance. It’s tempting to say buying this product was the worst mistake I’ve ever made, but that, of course, would be an exaggeration. However, this washer is terrible!!! Just like the rest of you, uneven load is the norm, LG basically doesn’t give a crap, and we paid pretty good money for this hunk. Our water bill - hahaha - efficient??? Absolutely the opposite because it takes like 6 runs to get through a load. My husband has tried to throw the washer through the window, straining his back and causing medical problems. Plus we have to go to marriage counseling now because this piece of “machinery” has caused so much stress. Dirty clothes are mounting regularly, our clothes are never fully clean... I wouldn’t be surprised if I get fired from my job for not smelling good! All joking aside, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I wish we had an old school washer.

My 5 year old refrigerator suddenly stopped working. A technician came out the next day and determined the compressor had failed. I was shocked because compressors typically can last over 20 years. After doing some research I come to find out that this is a widespread problem with LG and possibly some other brands that use this Linear type compressor. LG knows about the problem, and continues selling this product. To make matters worse, they are or have been installing the same type compressor as a replacement which will likely fail again in a short time.LG - listen this is no picnic when you lose hundreds of dollars of food. I spent over $3,000 for what I was led to believe to be a top quality refrigerator. Though the compressor is under warranty, LG said the labor is not because its 5 years and a few weeks, are you kidding? I am not pleased to have to shell out $550 in labor on top of the cost of the lost food. If this is how you treat your customers, you can rest assure LG will not be my appliance brand of choice.

We purchased an LG front loading washer and dryer in February 2010 at Best Buy. Recently the mother board went out on the DLE2350W dryer ($350 replacement cost) only to find out that in Canada, LG warranties this item for three years and in the United States only 1 year. After visiting with the recommended LG repair service, we have found that this is a common problem and can go out even after one year.I have reviewed several blogs that have customer reviews and found a common theme in that LG has very poor post-sale product service. Im safe to say we will not buy another LG product and will recommend to others not to as well. We have always had excellent service from Sears and will return to them once again. If you do your due diligence and review customer comments, you will find my views are shared by many. This is unfortunate for a company whose tag is Living Good.

I contacted customer service about my freezer dying, they told me that the earliest it could send a technician was 3 days. Ok they’re busy I can accept that. Oh but nobody shows up to repair my freezer after my wife took a vacation day so she could be home when he showed up. I returned a call back to customer support and the gentleman said to hold on he was going to call the technician. Then he comes back and tells me that he can’t get in contact with the technician but here is his number you can call them. After calling for the last 4 days still nobody to repair freezer! But oh does it get better because this morning now the refrigerator part is not cold. So again I contact customer support and the guy tells me he can’t get in contact with the technician. We have tried all week long what makes you think you could contact them today. Then customer support told me that he is going to change repair technicians and the earliest they could come out to repair would be 2 weeks. I said I can’t go 2 weeks without a refrigerator, could they reimburse me with another refrigerator. The answer is no we can’t do that till the technician says it’s un-repairable. So okay geniuses what do you do for 2 weeks with medication that needs to stay cold and not being able to afford eating out every day for 2 weeks. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT AND ONE MORE TIME DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM LG BECAUSE YOU CANNOT GET IT REPAIRED!!

I have the same experience with my machine. Just after 1 yr, the washer will spin & refill for hours repeating the same cycles. The machine starts at 57 min. wash 9 normal load, cottons) but after an hour is still spinning, draining & refilling. The first time I noticed this, it was spinning for over 3 hrs. until I stopped it. Not only that, the clothes come out about as dirty as they went in. The machine is a huge disappointment.

The compressor is very noisy (linear inverted). The compressor will also shake and rattle bottles on the doors. It is a double door with the freezer on the bottom. If you should not recall where you put items in the freezer, you will never find them again. The freezer has drawer, that is very useful but somewhat small. The exterior is stainless but hard to keep finger prints and smudges off the surface. We have found the door ice maker and water is very easy to use and convenient. The model is LG LFXS24623S.

We purchased the LG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model #LFX25960ST in May of 2007. 1st issue was the Product Consumer Energy Rating. The Energy Rating LG gave was less than the average energy the fridge used. I receive a check from LG (I think) every quarter to make up the difference in energy used (around $4.00). Next came the ice maker. The ice maker would freeze up and overflow with water or just stopped working all together. The ice dispenser in the door has never crushed Ice the way it should. We had 3 service calls on ice maker issues, 2 of which the ice maker had to be replaced. Still does not crust ice the way it should. I just gave up trying to get it fixed. Then I noticed that the hard wood floors in front of the fridge were starting to warp. Ceiling tiles in basement showed where water had leaked from kitchen above. We pulled down the tiles but were unable to find a leak. We pulled out the fridge and saw where water had wet the sheetrock and floor behind the fridge. Thinking there was a leak in the plumbing behind the fridge we ripped out the sheetrock, finding nothing. We then decided to leave the fridge pulled out to try and determine where the water was coming from. About 30 minutes later, I returned to the kitchen and noticed that water was spewed to the right side of the fridge and all across the dining area, approx. 15. We turned off the water going to the fridge and contacted LG. 2 days later a repairman came in an immediately noticed the warped flooring. He the checked the ice maker and the fridge and found nothing. He turned the water back on and asked me to dispense water from the water/ice dispenser. When I pushed the water dispenser, water, again, shot out all across the kitchen and dining room. The repairman was then able to show us where the line coming from the valve on the fridge to the filter had split. He stated the line was faulty and would have to be replaced. 2 weeks later the repairman returned and replaced the faulty line. LG did pay for fridge repairs and repairs to my floor but nothing for the downtime or aggravation we endured. Then we had issues with the interior light in the fridge. It would stay on even when the fridge was closed. Again we contacted LG for repair. Now after having this fridge for only 7 years, the entire cooling system, fridge and freezer, has gone out, resulting in ruined and sour food. We contacted LG again. My husband spoke with the lady from LG. At one point in the conversation, he told the lady, Im sorry, I know this isnt your fault, but Im very aggravated right now dealing again with this Lemon of a refrigerator. The LG Supervisor then told him I understand your aggravation, but you are just going to get even more aggravated when you hear what I have to say. I cannot help you because the refrigerator is out of warranty. WHAT??? Who says that??? Where is the customer service??? So now Im stuck paying an $85.00 service call plus replacement parts and labor to fix ANOTHER issue with this LG Refrigerator. I am so done with anything LG.

I purchased an LG topload washer - model #WT7600HWA in September of last year. Immediately I noticed that the clothes came out dingy and old looking. In December I noticed that some sort of fibrous looking matter was on the clothes when I removed them from the washer. It has gotten progressively worse and my clothes are being ruined as I have to rinse them several times and I still cant get it all off. Since January I have made at least 12 calls to customer service, executive services and now have been bumped up to product specialists. I have had 4 service calls and spoken with the manager of the department in the retail store where we purchased the machine. The LG service man who was last here acknowledged that there was a problem as he actually saw it on my clothes but told me that he could find no source for it so LG wouldnt replace the machine. I have documented with pictures and sent two letters with another going out today; have researched online and found complaints of the same thing happening to other people; and called my own appliance repair company that I have used on other appliances. They told me they had a customer with the exact same problem. They went out and took her machine apart and they were not able to find the source of the problem either. The matter that is left on the clothes looks like white/tan specks all of the clothes or it comes out in big streaks and smears. In my conversations with each and every department they have given me tasks and advice that contradict the information in their own product manual. I have run tub clean per their instructions many times. With product; with bleach; without anything; have had our water tested and drained our hot water heater. All to no avail. I think the appliance is defective in some way and LG will not replace it. It is ruining my clothes. At this rate I will have to purchase a new washer and a new wardrobe!

This does not wipe off. I called LG, and they sent me cleaning instructions and told me to use oven cleaner! If this doesnt work, I will have to replace the door, but its not covered because it is one year old! I also purchased the extended coverage at Home Depot, BIG MISTAKE! Oh, thats not covered, only functionality items! I said, well, the self cleaning didnt function properly, and burned my oven door! They replied, oh, but the oven still works!!! Are you KIDDING me? Does anyone have any idea how to get this black film off of my oven door and window???

I had to write 2 letters and make numerous phone calls - LG is a nightmare to deal with. Their customer service people are barely understandable over the phone, and they never follow up on any of my letters. I just emailed the company again and now they are asking for the same documentation already sent them. I had to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the FTC, and the New Mexico State Atty General. The next step will be to sue them in small claims court. On 10/2008, I purchased an LG LRE30453ST/01 ceramic glass top electric range from Home Depot. On 7/2009, my husband instructed my oldest son to turn on the stove in preparation of us being 5 minutes away. He placed a pot on the stove on the largest eye and set the stove for 3.5 with a little grease inside the pan. My son said that as soon as he did what was instructed and sat down on the couch when he noticed immediate smoke coming from the pot. He looked inside the pan and noticed a ring of fire inside the pan that began to escalate fairly quickly and evacuated himself and my youngest daughter out of the home for their protection. Within five minutes of giving him these instructions we received a call back from him stating that the kitchen was on fire. Fire department came but the fire self-extinguished itself before they were able to take action. The fire caused 8k worth of damage with us paying a 1K deductible. It damaged the cabinets above the stove, the microwave above the stone, and the stove itself which sustained the most damage. The pot was actually not destroyed, but the stove was. The insurance company had no clue how this escalated so quickly so therefore the pot had masked the true natural cause of the fire which was the stove itself. The stove was replaced with the exact same model stove in 2009 and in 4/2014, while I was cooking on the largest eye once again with a cast iron skillet, the bottom of the skillet began to smoke from underneath set with a temperature of 3.5. I noticed the extreme heat coming from the largest eye and attempted to turn it off with no response from the stove to reduce the heat even though the stove read H5 which means a warm status. The heat was so extreme that the other eyes started to read as H5 and they werent even on. The extreme heat from the largest eye also prompted the microwave vent to come on by itself. My kids and myself started to get nervous and tried to power down the stove by turning off the circuit breaker with no response so we had to unplug the stove from the wall. We waited about 5 minutes and attempted to replug the stove and the largest eye came on immediately, flashing red several times, sending out extreme heat so we decided to keep it unplugged. I called LG the next day to find out that a recall was issued in 2012 for my model number. I was completely taken back. The recall stated The burners on the electric ranges can fail to turn off after being switched off or the temperature setting can increase unexpectedly during use, posing burn and fire hazards to consumers. What else do you need? I asked why I was not notified and they said it was on TV and because I did not register the product, I didnt get notified by mail. Im a working professional mom of three, really! I cant believe they said that. They offered to repair the stove I currently have in my home and offered apologies for the fire in 2009. Is there no recourse or responsibility of the manufacturer for damages that occurred to homeowners before the recall. How can this be right. LG is claiming statute of limitations is 3 years but what about the fact that a recall was not issued until 2012. How was my insurance supposed to know that their product was defective when there was no recall in place. How is the consumer supposed to be protected in a case like this. Im not asking for the 8k that my insurance paid out but at least take responsibility for the deductible I had to pay for your fire hazardous product I placed in my home that nearly killed my kids. How can the statute of limitations be set for 3 years when the defect is not found until the recall is issued? PS: I have documentation of everything.

We have an LG Refrigerator that sells currently at Home Depot 2016 for $3,500 that came with our home when we purchased it. We have owned many different name brand refrigerators during our 40 years of marriage and I can confidently state that LG Refrigerators are the worst weve ever owned. LG technicians cannot fix the constant sweating from the ice-maker that appears on the door and where the water and ice are dispensed. There is a known product defect in the ice maker that LG refuses to warranty so you need to purchase a replacement part with an LG Service Call for approximately $300 each time it blows out. Their 800# Tech Support is a joke since no understands or cares about your product difficulties. In short, nothing sucks like an LG. DONT BUY LG PRODUCTS!

We bought a house with built-in LG double wall ovens. They were inspected prior to our purchase and worked fine. We decided to use the self-clean mode on the upper unit that is built in to the appliance and what a huge mistake that was! The electronic touch screen went blank, the door locked shut, and the oven heated up to some insane temperature that had us concerned the unit would catch the wood enclosure the ovens were built into on fire. The self-clean took over 5 hours to complete and the upper oven has not worked since. I went online to see if I could figure out what happened and saw that this is a very common complaint about LG ovens. So, I contacted LG to file a claim and they refused to acknowledge the issue and said they would not warranty the appliance because our purchase contract didnt specifically call out the serial and model numbers of the BUILT IN UNIT. They had no concern about the fire hazard created by using the self-clean feature on the unit and no offer to inspect or correct the damage (that seems to be a regular occurrence) caused by using their appliances self-clean feature. LG offers both a shoddy appliance and a shoddy customer service experience. I will not be purchasing another LG product.

I purchased a washer in January 2013. It started giving a UE signal and delaying the cycles. No matter the size of the load, it kept doing this. It was serviced on April 9th, 2013. It worked fine for several weeks. By June it started the same problem described above. I attempted to make a service appointment online and it keeps saying there is no service for my area!!! I chatted online with an agent and this person (Gus). He asked me for all the information and also stated there was no service for my area and that he would talk to a supervisor to call me. This has not happened (7/18/13). On Monday 7/22, I called LG and the person (Richard) told me that all I had to do was to rearrange the clothes I was washing. I told him that was not a solution and I wanted it to be replaced or money refunded. There was a lot of discussion and then he told me that a repair person (who I need to call instead of them) would charge me for the service, which I refuse to do since this is a new appliance. I went to the store I bought the washer from (HHGregg) and the store manager called LG and there was no solution to the problem. I am not willing to keep this washer giving me such hard times!!

We had this dishwasher for 11 mos before we noticed cracks along the top of the co tell panel. LG claims that this is surely cosmetic akin to a scratch or dent. I disagree, this is a poorly designed unit. Lowes actually did not want to cover this cosmetic defect, the repairman got it covered due to the cracks allowing moisture into the controls. Fast forward 3 mos, the newly replaced control panel now has cracks the same as the previous panel. The plastic used on these panels is apparently defective or the unit produces more heat than the panel can withstand. This is an engineering issue and not enough testing was done to notice the apparent heat issues. We have a two year old LG fridge, model number LFX33975ST that stopped cooling completely three weeks ago. We contacted LG customer service and they gave us three companies that were LG certified repair centers. We made an appointment (had a horrible time with them) and after three weeks they told us the fridge needed to be replaced and they would work with LG warranties to get that done. LG warranties will not work with them and have forced us to use another service tech. We have the live chats from LG customer service proving set appointment times. Of which nobody showed. We have proof from the service company LG told us to use that our two year old fridge should be replaced and LG wont work with the service company they told us to use. LG says they will not replace our fridge, only the parts even though their service tech said the fridge should be replaced and that the seal system should not go bad in a 2-year old refrigerator. They also said that if LG says they will fix it to let them know this is the type of warranty problem that will go bad every year and we will have to replace the seal system every year. LG still refuses to replace - the manager at LG customer service told us they will never replace only repair. HORRIBLE!

Buyer beware of this refrigerator! I have an LG fridge (through sears –kenmore elite). I have spoken to Sears and LG. Both are saying that my less than two year old fridge not working is the others problem. I have now paid to have both a Sears technician and an LG technician look at it. The first tech said the issue was the refrigerant cooling system and the compressor was gone. This was the local LG authorized appliance repair person. The second was the Sears authorized repair tech who said it was the electrical board, but it could also be the compressor but they werent sure. Both say NOT their problem!! It is going to cost 1150.00 to fix my fridge after Xmas! I have now had no fridge for over two weeks. Life is definitely Not Good!!!I spoke to Sears, they also told me, not their problem. So what what do I do now? I know, pay $1150.00 for my fridge. If my fridge, was older, I would get it! But it is less than two years old!! You know that is not right!! We bought the above LG washer new at Best Buy on 3/16/14 along with an extended warranty. It wasnt delivered until 3/29/14. We ran it for ~2 weeks when on 4/13/14 it began spraying water all over our floor from the bottom right of the machine. I immediately called Best Buy about a return. Their policy is only 15 days. They count that 15 days from the date of purchase, not delivery. (Let that be a warning). So we only had the washer in our house and running for a few days before the return period ended. They would not honor a return and told us we had to go through LG. From there it got much, much worse. Have some patience to read the rest of this and you will get the true feel for LGs Customer Service. Pray you never have a problem. You can see in the attached transcripts that the repairman that came out basically saw a non-fixable problem and tried to the LG to condemn the unit. LG wouldnt do it as they saw it as repairable. Our repairman said all other companies he deals with would take the repairmans recommendation and replace the unit. He warned us that LG is different and that they would fight tooth and nail to not have to exchange the unit. Afterwards, I contacted LG customer service on the phone and was placed on infinite hold two times. I finally resorted to the chat room option. Read the transcript to get their idea of customer service. We had been without a washer for 2 weeks at that point and LG did absolutely nothing to help. No replacement, no loaner, no stipend towards a Laundromat, coupon, or even an apology. What we got was we have 30 days to fix it per our warranty and it sounds inconvenient for you. There was zero attempt at trying to appease us as customers. The 2nd round of parts came in, and sure enough as our repairman said, they didnt solve the problem. It was now 4/29 and we are livid to still be without a working washer after spending over $800. He provided them copies of our receipts and LG stated they would start processing an RA (return authorization review). We were told we would hear from LG in a day or so. A few days went by, I tried calling LG again. No response. Emailed. No response. Finally, managed to get hold of a Customer service manager. They told me they had 3 days to process an RA. I told her it had now been over a week. She didnt know what to say. She also stated they didnt have copies of our receipts. They did, but I resent them again. Now go to the next email string.Today, my wife called again. LG said they didnt process anything because they didnt have the receipts. I had to provide them a THIRD TIME. We were then told it will take 3 working days or more to process the return through Best Buy and about another week to 10 working days before they will arrange for a replacement unit. That does not count time for delivery. They still dont care and wont help in any way. So we are looking at being without a washer for about 1-1/2 months or more. We are still scrambling to get laundry done. I will be looking to get the photos taken by our repairman showing the gap in the machine and post them once received.Consequences? My wife has been traveling 20 miles each way to her mothers house ~2-3 times per week to do laundry. A few times she has gone to a local neighbors house. I have had to leave work early and take personal time to travel 30 miles (45 minutes) on 3 occasions so far to deal with the service calls. Hours spent on the phone and the Internet trying to reach resolution. Inconvenience. Frustration. Strained relationships with relatives. A mess on our floor that I had to clean up. About 1-1/2 months without a washer after spending $800 on what was sold to me as a supposed functional unit.

The LG refrigerator bottom freezer was the worst purchase I have ever made. I will not buy nor recommend purchasing any LG garbage. Horrible, horrible service from LG. Ive only owned this piece of garbage for 4 years. Ive had the repairmen out 6 times and the freezer still doesnt work. LG still refuses to replace it. Be smart, buy something other than LG.

I have to pull out the dispenser every time to dump the water. I called customer service yesterday. I was told to try powder detergent. I was also told that it was normal for water to be in the dispenser. No. Its not normal as it didnt do it the first couple of washes.

I did not choose my LG refrigerator. It came with the house or condo I bought and was in the kitchen and I wont replace or buy something new when not needed. It will be saved and used in or on something else. Keeps food fresh so that I always have something I can eat or fix for my family and if thirsty they can also find something to drink and it will taste good. But maybe keep my cat and or dog food to keep fresh also and keep things to drink and consume when it is wanted.

I bought a LG washing machine and dryer from Home Depot which is the worst experience ever. I went to the store on Strickland Road in Raleigh, NC and picked out the best LG washer and dryer they had on sale for Black Friday on the Black Friday pre-sale. We paid about $2400. They delivered it on Wednesday before Thanksgiving and then the problems started. They had a big dent in the dryer and said they were going back and pick up another the same day. They never showed back up and didnt call or anything. I ended up getting it 2 weeks later. Then the washing machine broke down in 3 days from the time it was delivered. Home Depot would do nothing and left it to LG. I am still waiting to use my Washer and it is now December the 8th and LG said it will try and get me an appointment next week. What POOR SERVICE! Dont Buy LG or anything from Home Depot! I think I received a Lemon and Home Depot wont help me at all and Ive only had the machine 3 days.

Bought new LG dishwasher at Sears, not knowing there was a service bulletin on this particular machine concerning a door design flaw that caused a leak. When ours started leaking shortly after the warranty expired, LG wouldnt do anything. Customer service was rude, confrontational, and borderline belligerent. We were unable to get the dishwasher to quit leaking without spending more on it than it was worth, so we yanked it and replaced it with a Whirlpool. It works great. We will NEVER buy any LG product ever again.

Three weeks ago my son contacted LG customer service. Our refrigerator has been running with a loud fan sound. Recommendations... to set temperature at original setting settings and dont open the doors. Three weeks from then... same situation. Today I called LG customer service talked with Chris. He asked for the fridge/freezer temperatures. Fridge panel at 34, freezer at -6. Yet, I explained to Chris that I bought refrigerator/freezer thermometers... the fridge reads 60 degrees, the freezer is reading at 30 degrees. Chris asked my son if the settings on the refrigerator was personal or preference. My son said I guess preference. Conclusion - Chris now had us reset the temps to fridge, 37 and the freezer at 0. He said since we preference the other temps, tried to explain that we did not set this temps, he said, Well your son said it was a preference. No one at LG was helpful. Very belittling, Dok. the first person spoke with, continued asking Is the fan sound humming, snapping, tapping? When I tried to explain that no one set these temps, Chris used the bias term personal or preference. Not one person was willing to work together to solve the problem. They were looking for blame. Point remains, whatever the panel temps says the refrigerator is still at 60 degrees, and freezer is at 30+.

We purchased our LG stove in 2007. I havent had any problems with the stove top but the oven loses heat fast and takes a long time to recoup. When making cookies I have had to add time on to the cook time and when our kids were staying here and used the oven they did not like it because everything took extra time to cook. Has anyone had any issues like this? I am ready to get rid of it, just not happy. I was told by a repairman that came in for my washer (which is a different brand) that LG doesnt have enough experience to be making stoves and refrigerators. He said LG is hard to work with and they will not service them. Any feedback would be wonderful. When you purchase these appliances you are supposed to be excited, now it just scares me, so much money for them not to perform correctly.

LG Compressor complaint bought 3 years ago (brand new). 05/15/2017 - When I started filing a claim thru LG protection plan. I spoke to a male representative and mentioned that he will send someone to check the fridge. We briefly explained to him whats going on. That the fridge is not cooling and since my husband is a technician himself, he knows whats going on to the fridge. My husband mentioned that the compressor is not working. The rep sent us a part for relay which when the (First attempt) technician came over to fix it. He said that they sent the wrong parts. He said and will report to LG that it was the compressor that is broken. We waited for the parts to be ordered. I called several times to follow up (month of May/June). The reps were telling me that the compressor is on its way and they have set up an appointment with the technician but the parts still hasnt arrive to the house. I even asked the representative if the technician will have the actual compressor because we havent received it. She said if we didnt have it then the technician would probably have it. When the same technician arrived to the house (Second attempt), he doesnt have the parts and we dont have it as well. He ended up leaving without fixing it and recommended to call LG again. I called and when I spoke to another representative, they said that it was on back order. How come they didnt explained it in the first place and sending the technician just to waste our time? I complaint to them and ended up talking to a supervisor who gave me a mini fridge that we picked up at a local Home Depot for the inconvenience because I told them that Im pregnant and taking insulin which I appreciate them for accommodating me.When I called and spoke to the technician. He mentioned that when its 40 days and still cant find the parts that probably we will be reimbursed. I called on the 40th day. That is June 26th. That same day the compressor came in the morning and my mother received it. However I was not home at the time so I asked him if he will schedule the service. The representative I spoke to said that he cant schedule it for some reason in his system and told me to call an 800-243-0000 number to schedule the service. When I called this number, they couldnt locate my claim nor cant find me on the file. The person I spoke to said that I have to call LG back to get this situated. Then they schedule me with Precision services who message since 06/28/2017 and said that they will schedule the service and we will get a call. Several text reminders received until on 06/29/2017 a text message came and said they are ready to schedule the service. Still theres no live person that I can talk to when they are coming. On 06/30/17; they message me again and wants me to explain briefly what the situation is. Instead of texting them I called them instead and was able to talk to someone who scheduled the service on 7/7/2017.Finally the tech came in the morning and my husband called me at work and said that the technician didnt fix it and just troubleshoot the problem about the compressor. He even said that why sent him there when they know that they have to send a LG manufacturing license technician who can fix the compressor. I got so furious and upset. I called them on 7/7/2017 and spoke to the supervisor, Angel who promised that someone within 4 hours will call me and schedule the service but no one called. I called this Morning and spoke to another supervisor named Chase who stated that theres a service provider that can do it and its near our location and will request it however, considering its the weekend that they might be closed. He said that I have to wait 1 business day. I told him I was told if they couldnt locate anyone to fix our fridge to just reimburse us. We have been waiting for so long. Its going to be almost 2 months without a fridge. Several calls has made and they didnt even call us back for the status. I have to constantly call them what happened to the back order parts, when finally we receive the parts, asking them when the technician will fix it. Now, they couldnt locate a license technician who can fix our LG fridge and still I have to wait. Theyre explaining that it has to be license LG manufacturing which I totally understand. If they know the problem, they should have located a technician long time back. I have this on file, the other technician informed them the problem since beginning of June. We are now in July and still no resolution. I will wait again on Monday for a phone call which is not for sure if they will find a technician and still by then he is still not sure what will be the resolution to the problem. They keep on promising and misleading the customer. What kind of LG protection is this, this should have been handled smoothly. When you have protection services, they should have a good contact technician that is license to fix with this kind of problem and not let the customer have false hope, give reason to wait and still be disappointed. Sorry doesnt cut the chase and were still inconvenience with this problem. Im pregnant and stressing me so much. I dont know what else I can do to resolve my issue and Im writing a complaint and hoping that someone from LG Company resolve this issue as soon as possible. I saw LG compressor complaints online and has 1840 which I dont know if they resolve it. They should at least pay attention to this issues.

DO NOT BUY LG!!! We purchased an LG French door refrigerator in early 2016. This was a $2500.00 model but we thought we were getting a quality product. The cooling system completely died in Dec. of 2018. Less than 2 years out of this refrigerator! We immediately called LG for service. 3 weeks later and 5 canceled service appointments later we have yet to see a repair technician or have any resolution to this matter. I have spent countless hours on the phone with both LG and their service company AE. Both have given me endless runaround and not been able to tell me why all of our appointments were canceled nor find a technician to service us. BUY ANYTHING BUT LG. HORRIBLE PRODUCT. HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I purchased a LG refrigerator from Abt Electronics in 12/15. Less than 8 months, the ice maker was not working. The manufacturer came out, ordered the part and had it delivered to my house the next day. He returned to install it. Then less than 18 months after purchasing the new refrigerator, it started making a strange noise. The next morning, there was water in it.Called LG and was told the warranty was up since it was over a year old to call Abt and use my extended warranty service. Called Abt, they diagnosed the problem as it needing a new condenser! Had to wait on the part. Returned a week later installed the condenser. Later the same day, the panel on the doorways showing an error code and the ice maker or water dispenser wouldnt work nor was it cooling in the refrigerator but the freezer was working. Used my extended service warranty again, had to wait a week to get the part and reschedule another service call. They came out to install the fan.I have now had all three major parts on this less than 1.5 year old LG refrigerator. What else can go wrong now? Thank goodness I had an old 30 year old refrigerator in my garage to use as a backup! Wouldnt ever buy an LG refrigerators again. Hoping this last five years! My earlier refrigerator lasted 22 years with no repairs. I just bought a new one since I had my kitchen remodeled!

I was remodeling my kitchen and bought a brand new range and an over the range microwave, delivered 12/2018, installed in Feb 2019 due to kitchen not being ready. When started using it I noticed some white spots or discoloration on the stainless steel front of the range. As the range worked fine I did not immediately call CS to see if anything can be done about this issue. Then the microwave stop working so I called CS and told them about both appliances and they scheduled a time to come out for the MW but told me they would be get back with me about the range which they never did after a week. When the guys came out to look at the MW I showed them the spots and they tried cleaning them as well. They said Id have to call back in as nothing was scheduled for the range just the MW. They even confirmed that the front face of the range could be replaced a simple fix. I called the next Monday to ask about this again and the first guy told me from what he could see, from a photo I had sent in the first time, it was nothing that can be done about it. So I ask why he thought that from looking at a photo, he said he would get me over to a supervisor. After being on hold for 20 minutes a guy got on the phone and told me that if I would have called as soon as I noticed the spots that they could have replaced it based on a defect but since I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. He said it might be a chemical reaction but I told him Ive only used what was recommended for me to use. I asked them if they could replace the front piece and he said no that because I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. Yes I waited until the MW stop working before I called because the range was working fine. I know that if CS wanted to help and replace one piece that they could have but they punished me for waiting, its not as if I was asking for a brand new range. Ive already have had a few people ask me what LG did about taking care of the range and now I can let them know and everyone know that they chose not to do anything because I was busy and didnt call right away. I will never buy LG again!!!

When we purchased the WT5101HW Washing machine we did so because my Maytag Neptune machine (Which contributed to Maytag going bankrupt) had to be replaced. I had thought LG would be a great experience, I was wrong. Initially the machine worked well and was efficient as expected, however that did not last. My wife noted that the clothes would smell musty and the machine took a long time to finish. We cleaned the machine monthly and left the lid up when not in use and put up with the lackluster performance. Last year things became decidedly worse when frequent UE errors began to appear and the machine would fill with water to almost the top. When I contacted LG an appointment was set for a technician to repair the machine. The first visit was a software update. No effect. The 2nd visit the Stator Assembly and Rotor Assembly were replaced. No effect. The third visit the Housing Assembly, Clutch Coupling, Stator Assembly, Rotor Assembly and Pulsator Assembly were replaced. Issues persists. The fourth visit the PCB Assembly, Display was replaced at which point the service rep indicated that just about everything replaceable was replaced. The machine appeared to work ok for a short while, however still using excess quantities of water and sounding like a helicopter landing when in spin cycle. The UE errors persist. We lived with this a while and then my wife mentioned our water bill has about tripled ever since the repairs. On contacting LG again I was told they would be happy to send at our cost a service technician and that the machine was now too far out of warranty for any other recourse. The original issue was never resolved and persists.I can no longer in good conscience recommend any LG Washing Machine. I have multiple short videos on my phone of the machine filling with water in attempt to balance and with the UE flashing in the background. There is no True balance as advertised and if high efficiency means using more water and being prone to developing black mold then the machine is highly efficient, just not in cleaning, conserving water or energy.

I have exhausted every option to resolve this matter regarding our LG washer/dryer. Purchased at Home Depot (approx. 2010) with the additional warranty. Upon numerous issues with delivery, installation, drainage, mold, mildew, build up, seals, etc.. Home Depot hires an outside source/third party vendor for service. Just the phone calls alone feel like theyve taken years off my life! The call center that handles the calls is obviously outsourced and makes for major language barriers. We had numerous repairmen assist with the issues. Not one time was there any resolution. We have a family of five and Im blessed as the Laundry Goddess. I have a generic disease and have recently been diagnosed with lupus. My health is taking a toll on everyday chores. These less than desirable machines add unwanted frustrations. I look forward to a resolution!

Unprofessional technical support. Unhelpful customer service. We purchased the LG electric range model LSE4613ST last October 2017. In May 2018 the two big front burners ceased operating well - now it takes twice longer time to heat up than it used to be, and while Im cooking the burners dont keep the heat evenly. I called LG customer service and on May 29th, 2018 (I took a day off at my work), LG technician came to my house and just by holding his hand close to the working burner was able to tell me that there is no issue. Manual diagnostic? I explained to him that it was not like that for eight months that I used the range every day, and I wanted to show him during the cooking process what is wrong, but I didnt get the chance, for he left my house telling me that he knows better.I called customer service and complained. To my surprise, I was told that I have a scheduled visit for June 6th, 2018, in order to replace some parts. Believe it or not, on that date, nobody came and moreover nobody contacted me to cancel the appointment. I spent my day off my work for nothing. I called LG customer service again, just to hear that they know nothing about the visit and that my file was transferred to the other department. Then I escalated the issue to the social media. A couple of weeks later Ive got a call from LG to inform me that the next Friday Im going to receive a call from the Executive department. No more details were supplied. Guess what? Nobody called.I called LG back next week and I was told that Friday was a mistake, and Im going to receive the call some day later. Im still waiting. LG failed again. Now about very DANGEROUS issue - the knobs of the several models, including mine, are easily turned on just by bumping the knob. You wont even notice it. If you google the issue, there are so many negative comments about the stove. Here some of them: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/lg_range.html

We purchased a new LG refrigerator when we purchased our home in 2017. We had renovations going on and our right hand door was damaged/dented by a contractor. The contractor offered to replace the door so I contacted an LG recommend appliance parts and service place to replace the door. A week later they returned with a substitute that did not work so they said they would be back a couple of weeks when the correct door came in, that was October 2018 and I have been waiting ever since. All my phone calls to the appliance repair people end with them saying it still has not come in, it’s on backorder. At one point I called LG who confirmed the door is on backorder! Seriously it has been almost a year. Of course I had to pay the appliance repair person for the house call even though I told them the door needed to be replaced due to dents but they said that money would go towards the new door. At this point I am not sure I am going to get a new door. Had I realized we would receive such poor customer service I never would have gone with LG, we also purchased a 65” LG TV, and washer and dryer. I hope LG will help us with our dilemma.

When you pay $3500 for an appliance you do NOT expect it to break down and require the same part (that cost $240 to have the repairman fix) every 6 months. We bought the L-G LMXC 23746 at Best Buy in June 2015. In November 2016 shortly after the 1 year warranty expired (of course!) we had to replace the Evaporator Fan Motor. Since that time every 6 months the refrigerator starts to make a loud hum and we know it is burning out, AGAIN! Every time the repair man comes it cost $70 for the part L-G EAU 61505014 (Motor, DC), $50 for a service call, and $110 for labor to replace the fan. Clearly there is an issue with this LG product considering all the reviews citing the same problem. I thought there were laws to protect consumers from companies who make and sell DEFECTIVE products. But I guess we just have to keep paying $500 a year to fix it twice a year or invest thousands to replace a 2 year old appliance. NEITHER option is desirable! Disappointed with LG and with Best Buy for promoting this clearly DEFECTIVE product as a high-end REFRIGERATOR appliance.

It also cools a lot better than most refrigerators and it is energy star saving as well. I love the fact that I had that three drawer space and also that it has open this technology to allow someone to look inside the refrigerator without opening it. Theres nothing I dislike about it except that it needs a little bit more space in the freezer portion. LG customer service very inefficient and I talked with 4 to 5 different people to try and just get the warranty to fix machine. That was August 24th, and it is September 14th, still waiting on part to come in.This is 3rd LG product to purchase in 9 months, and it will be the last. Customer service didnt care at all that this broke so soon and that they didnt send the order for the first fix. Bought this machine because its supposed to not get unbalanced, because of a tube around the tub. Wrong, it still does it. Our Maytag was as good, and it was 7 years old. Stay away from LG products. LMXS28626S.ASTCNA0/French Door. I bought it for the good looks, but there are a few annoying and serious design deficiencies in the refrigerator, as follows: 1. The ice maker storage is in the door, which causes the ice inside to clump together and stop making ice if the door is opened for a couple of minutes while cleaning the inside. The storage has to be cleaned out, and sometimes reset, in order to work again. 2. The water dispensing spout is far from the pressing mechanism, and water splashes outside the glass if it is small. I have never experienced this before in any of my previous refrigerators3. The French doors do not stay in place when opened - the left tends to shut, while the right tends to open all the way.

Over the years we have had a number of refrigerator brands and have never had any major problems. Our LG refrigerator has lasted less than 2 years and after 4 weeks of dealing with this company we are still without a refrigerator. The unit stopped cooling and we called customer service. Seeing that it was a refrigerator we thought a day or 2 and it would be repaired. It took a week for their service rep from A & E Appliance Repair to arrive. It looks like this company has some connection to Sears. Then another week went by before a part arrived. Looking at the control board that arrive it had broken clips and it didnt look new. A few days later a service rep arrived and installed this part, no change no cooling. He indicated he would have to order another board. At the time didnt think this might just be a scam of sending out a used board. After 2 more weeks they are saying it is on back order and dont know when it will be available. The conversation is turning to buying a service contract. I have now spoke with 10-15 reps in LG customer service and a number have indicated they will expedite the process and get back to us. Never happens. You can never get back to the last person you talked to. I have seen some references to a class action law suit. This looks like the only hope anyone who has purchased an LG product has to recover the loss.

Purchased this washer in March of 2011. At first this washer worked great. Then it started to vibrate a lot more than it used to early on, then it started to tell me loads were constantly UE or uneven, then it started giving an IE code. It wasnt until the IE code that we called Sears... 2 months after our expensive $170 3 year warranty. They told us the part and we ordered it... wrong part. Finally got the right part and replaced it. The machine worked ok but we still had excessive vibrations and then it started stopping on 17 minutes. Wouldnt get past that time. Now, it is stopping at 45 minutes... and it took 3 hours to get to that point. My husband called Sears after finding out our machine is recalled and they claim that our machine doesnt count. He called a different Sears number and they said to call LG because its an LG machine. He calls LG and LG says that they no longer have a relationship with Sears and we need to talk to them. We then talk to Sears and the rep says our machine is definitely recalled but we need to call the recall line (which was the 1st call that had been made). He gives us the number to the escalation department and the rep claims she cant find our account. Then she says she needs a few minutes to research it and the call is disconnected. What are we supposed to do now? There really is a recall on this machine and I think it shook so bad over time that something was damaged in the unit. Sears wont help. LG wont help. Who can help? We are just out the 800 we paid? It is just my husband and I so it isnt like this machine was even used that much. No one will help us. What do we do now?

My stove arrived today. As I wiped the interior oven to get ready to use it, my rag was covered with blue shards. I called the company, they could not explain it. It is being returned. Some of the shards were tiny, almost dust like. Others were larger. I cant imagine how a baked chicken or roast would not be ladened with these particles. Scary.

We purchased an LG refrigerator with ice maker about 4 years ago. We have had several issues with this unit because the ice maker would continually overfill and flood the back of the unit. We have had numerous issues with flooding and ice all over the floor and with the unit not keeping food cold enough. We contacted LG for service, only to realize that it would take two weeks to install a new compressor and worrying if that would hold. I had just purchased food from BJs and lost over $200.00 in food. Not willing to re-experience this again, we ran out to Lowes and purchased a Samsung refrigerator which will be delivered tomorrow. I will never buy another LG product again. Made in Korea, and you must wait to replace parts.

I purchased an LG dishwasher model ldt7797st at JCPenney. Im in my sixties and have dishwashers for many years. This is without a doubt the worst dishwasher I have ever had. It cant clean a coffee ring from inside a coffee cup. Its totally useless. I called a repairman through LG. It was probably one of the most knowledgeable repairman Ive had here. He told me I was doing everything correctly. Checked out the dishwasher and said it was operating perfectly. What a waste.

I have spent over 5 hours on the phone with LG so called customer service and parts orders which only exists in the Philippines... I Requested a US number or contact and there is not one. My problem is SIMPLE. I in need of a compressor and drier both under a 10 year manufacturer warranty that they just dont feel like ordering. Followed their instructions and had them send out a tech, take 99.00 from me for a covered part (for diagnosis) and now they say their Computer doesnt show the diagnoses or the technician notes. Talk about FRAUD!!! They sent the technician to my house! Even the technician was trying to say if he ordered the part(s) covered, we would have to pay him 400.00 or we could call LG ourselves for free! Have called over 10 times at this point only to purposely be disconnected after hours on the phone with them! This is ridiculous and illegal! Dont buy ANY LG PRODUCTS, they are liars and cheaters and try to extort $$$ from you!We are almost at 1 month of trying to get 2 parts ordered and still nothing! We had to buy a refrigerator in the meantime out of the paper. We have 2 boys with medical needs and refrigerated meds and they could Care less! Our refrigerator is 1.5 years old! So BRAND NEW & basically a LEMON! Dont buy LG & if you do, your problem will Never be solved in the US!!!

Have always personally preferred LG products for our home. We have always had the best with always choosing LG products for kitchen appliances. I like the refrigerators stainless steel, double doors, ice machine, freezer that pulls out on the bottom... Significant discount. There was a really good sale. But wish the whole thing had separate temperature controls rather than just the crisper drawers.

This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned! A normal cycle is supposed to take 57 minutes. It routinely takes all day to wash one load of laundry due to constant error codes stating the machine is unbalanced. This happens no matter how small or large the load of laundry and no matter how carefully you load the machine. It does not get clothing clean. I have to hand wash all shirts before putting them into the machine, otherwise, deodorant builds up on the fabric under the arms. And the washer smells musty no matter how regularly you clean it. I will NEVER buy a washer like this again. I purchased this one because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports, but it has been terrible from the beginning!

I purchased all brand new LG appliances when we bought a new (to us) home four years ago. In the past four years I have replaced the washer door 3 times due to cracked Lexan plastic washer door covers. I just noticed the dryer door is cracking. These cracks originate at the pull open handle and increase in length until the Lexan comes apart in ones hand. I have emailed LG US customer support several time and they simply tell me to call a service provider. Suffice to say I will not be buying anything else from LG.

When we bought this dryer we were told itll last at least 10 years ~ it died today and its only been a little over 6 years. When we were forced to purchase a new LG washer 5 years ago because the stackable unit that LG makes will only support LG products, we were told by the LG repairman who had to come out twice to fix the brand new washer, told us that in reality the dryer would probably only last about 7 years and the new washer about 5 years because thats the way theyre designed. The dryer didnt even last the 7 years. Absolute expensive garbage and I will NEVER buy another LG product! Its costing us $425-$450 to have it repaired today, but its better than throwing away another $2000 on another set of useless, cheap-made crap by LG.

We purchased an LG refrigerator 2 and a half years ago. It has stopped working. The refrigerator is not cold and the freezer does not freeze. LG has cancelled or failed to show up for 2 scheduled visits. We have now been without a refrigerator for over 20 days. LG representatives are now saying it will take them 7 to 10 days to review our documentation (receipt of purchase). We have called customer support at least 6 times and they lack integrity and empathy. How would one of them feel if they were in our shoes for 20 plus days?

Been over 2 months since 7-month-old LG refrigerator, French Door Model No. LFXC24726S (over $3,000), broke down destroying all contents. Contacted LG support May 11, 2015. After more than 2 hours on phone, finally convinced non-English speaking L.G. employee that we had serious problem and needed service. L.G. told me it was my fault because I didnt know how to close the freezer door!L.G. warranty repairman, a good quality & well-run company, determined a bad compressor. A 2nd employee at L.G.s authorized warranty contractor said that given the nature of the problem, they were going to ask for a replacement refrigerator. L.G. denied the request for a new refrigerator & repairman visited again (2 weeks to receive ordered compressor) and replaced the compressor. The replacement compressor functioned for about 1 week and then completely broke down again. Warranty repairman visited for 3rd time to determine 2nd compressor problem. Diagnosis was a bad replacement compressor plus a computer board needed to be replaced. Parts were again ordered & then a 4th visit from the repairman. When he returned to install, he spoke with a L.G. technician on the phone who would not allow the new parts to be installed unless the repairman completed a special test. The warranty company did not have the required equipment to do what L.G. requested, so he was not permitted by L.G. to install the 2nd new compressor or the computer board. The suggestion was made that we start all over with a new L.G. warranty contractor. The original contractor will attempt to see if his management will acquire the required equipment. We have now been without a refrigerator for over 2 months & had 4 repairman visits. The authorized service and the retailer who sold us the refrigerator have made multiple requests for a new refrigerator to replace this LEMON... always the same answer: NO, not warranted. L.G. will never honor its warranty. They are not a reputable company. Whomever reads this review, NEVER ever buy any L.G. product. If you do, you will be very unhappy.UPDATE: Monday, 7-13-15 at 8:41 a.m. - J & M Appliance repair called to cancel our 7-14-15 appt. between 8:00 & 11:00 a.m. (5th visit). Calling to cancel the appt. for tomorrow in reference to L.G. refrigerator. I do have a note here from my senior tech. He is advising that you contact L.G. and have them send out a different (authorized) service provider. The reason being is L.G. does not want to supply us the Micron gauge for the units. So at this point, we will not be there on Tuesday between 8 & 11. And again, you can contact L.G. at 1-800-000-000 and have them send out a different company for your repair. Thank you. We have been trying to get Warranty repair from L.G. for over 2 months and now we have to start all over!!! Words fail me...

This is the 4th appliance (6 in total) that is nothing but crap! The model # LRE30453SB is the range that we own! I have had a technician out 4 times in 7 months to fix problems! The sensor has been replaced twice and the brain box once, and last week (11/8/2012), they were back again because of the same problem (sensor). This time, they put goop in the back of it to keep it from making the sensor noise. All I want is to have decent appliances! Luckily for me, this range has an extended warranty! My fridge wasnt so lucky. Well, I should say we are so lucky - $500 in medicine and food wasted! LG doesnt care! They wont do anything! The list goes on and on for ** appliances! The dryer and washer have both had to have repairs to them within the first year; the range, 4 times in 7 months. Now the fridge! Something needs to be done! This is a lot of money that I dont have to replace the food lost, and potentially new fridge! Do something.

Dishwasher broke a few weeks after warranty ended. Only LG certified appliance repairman are to fix it. I lost 2 days work for a no show, no phone call repairman. Complained to LG, told 4-6 weeks and I will get a refund. It has been over 20 weeks and I am still told it will be 4-6 weeks. Spoke to manager who told me she would call me back before the end of the day yesterday - did not get a phone call back. LG is unreliable and undependable.
