More inconvenient than our old simple Whirlpool dryer.1. No light in dryer... Never thought to ask salesperson because never expected a feature downgrade from our previous basic dryer.2. No warning via any simple brochures or sales people that small loads result in a wet log which requires a second manual time setting extension of drying time and the separation of the individual items from the compressed log one a a time for the rerun. Sometimes the result of the rerun is loose dry items (ideal), or a dry compressed log still needing separation. This is a waste of owners time and effort. There was no such hassle with our old dryer. Had I been forewarned (before purchase), there would have been no purchase!

I love the features. The quality of the machine is top notch. I can wash blankets, sheets, big batches of clothing. Everything comes out clean and I am confident that the machine will work every time. This is my 3rd same washer. It was more money then the others but worth it.

We bought a new LG Top Load Washer and it started to leak water from the bottom. I called LG because it was under the manufacture warranty. We have had the repair people out 5x already and each time they have failed to fix the issue. I have called LG several times to explain that is has been a MONTH with no washer and that I have an immuno-compromised child that needs clean clothes. I cannot bring the clothes somewhere to do them because they could become contaminated and make my child sick. LG customer service has not been any help in resolving the issue. They continue to say that they will send the repair people out again and will not replace the machine. If the repair people could not fix it in 5 tries and a month later, then LG needs to replace the lemon of a washer they manufactured. I have a sick child and they have no consideration for that. I called Home Depot where I bought the machine and an extended warranty, but they cannot do anything because they have to wait until the manufacturers warranty runs out! I will never buy any LG products again!

We bought the LG refrigerator model LMXS27626S/00 in June 2015. We have had nothing but issues since then. The compressor has been replaced twice, lost hundreds of dollars on food we have to keep a small fridge for backup because we can trust this dollar water. And now again its not cooling. Waiting for repair man now.

I bought a fridge 1 year ago and it has been repaired 3 times for the same reason. I contacted LG and each time, it was fixed. Obviously, its a bad fridge. I contacted Home Depot where I purchased it and they told me that after 3 events for the same reason, it should be replaced. I contacted LG, they told me that that’s not the case, that it is up to the technician to tell LG that it cant be fixed. What? Dont buy LG. Customer service sucks and they will do nothing except to keep passing you on to someone else and tell you sad, sorry with no action.

I purchased a fridge from Home Depot on July 18th 2020, May 20th 2021 it started making noises and read an ERROR CODE, I called LG the first available day, I was sent thru the warranty service company and dealt with them scheduling a tech that didnt come prepared with the correct equipment to even work on the thing, then was told the wrong parts were ordered, waited on new parts and then the warranty company kept scheduling a tech that wasnt certified to work on the fridge so the system was cancelling the appointment. Finally on June 15th I spoke with a case manager at LG who assured me she was the one dealing with my case and would have it taken care of in 7-10 business days.On June 29th I received a text message asking for yet another picture of the product tag located inside. Which I immediately returned.. I lost over $500 dollars in food and was refunded $200 for that.. Now here we are July 9th. I called today to see what was going on, the rep would NOT give me her name, she called me a liar and hung up on me, when I called back to ask for a supervisor I was told there were NONE available and it would take 72 hours for one to get in contact with me. At this point I will be contacting a lawyer to see what the next steps are that can be taken, this has been the worst experience EVER. I have children and going almost 2 months without a fridge is UNCALLED FOR.. I would not recommend buying any LG PRODUCTS because the customer service and the warranty company they deal with are terrible!!!!

I purchased my LG Refrigerator French Door LFXC24726S on 9/5/15 from Best Buy. This refrigerator is used seasonally from June through September each year and winterized. In July of 2017 or after about 6 months of actual usage Error FF (indicating a fan problem) appeared and the refrigerator ceased to cool. A local repairman (not LG) replaced two fans with no improvement. Since an LG repairman was unavailable on a timely basis I was forced to buy a replacement refrigerator since this is a seasonal rental home. I was able to get an authorized LG repairman in late August who with consultation with LG Tech Support diagnosed a probable Main Control Board issue since the board has been updated to correct a known internal fan icing issue. No repairs have been under warranty so after $300 for fan replacement and $500 for board replacement the refrigerator still produced Error FF and does not function.I would gladly join a class action suit because this is simply unacceptable. Foreign quality that is being sold to the American public by our big box stores. Furthermore, I have been unable to talk to a technical representative at LG myself getting bounced between the standard 800 customer service and the LG parts distributor. My authorized LG repair service indicates that LG is frequently difficult to deal with. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING MANUFACTURED BY LG!

I bought this washer from Conns 2 years ago along with the matching dryer. I bought it on the recommendation of my nephew who had the set. I guess he never used it otherwise he wouldnt have recommended it to me or 2 of my sisters or he flat out hates us. My 2 sisters have already sold off the washer for cheap on craigslist and bought GE products; I will be doing it the same thing soon. This POS gets off balance even when during a Tub Clean which is done when the washer is empty. It can take hours to complete a load as you have to babysit it to make sure you wont get the UE code; when that happens it will fill the washer with water and try again, over and over. When I can get a load to go through a cycle completely without an error code I feel like I have won a prize. I do know that the best way to get a load to complete is to fill that sucker up! Small loads will continually go off balance until you reach the breaking point of pulling out most of the wet load and spinning it out by sections. Ive done this too many times to count but I wont wash baby clothes with the regular laundry.Oh yeah, when the machine had to refill and refill with water, the detergent and softener dispensers get filled with water even after the load has completed so when you go to do another load and pour the product in, it releases into the load immediately as its full of water. I now have to check that the drawer is empty before adding in the detergent, if not then I have to shake and open and shut the drawer rapidly to clear out the excess water. If you have small children be aware that they can climb in the drum and if they have accidentally turned it on and closed the lid, they are going for a ride! My 7 year old daughter and her friend did this to scare me only it backfired on them, the machine started despite the fact I had the child lock enabled. The lid would not open even after being unplugged, the mechanism jammed. We had to break the lid to get the girls out before they suffocated. Needless to say they were the ones scared beyond belief and mostly unhurt except some scratches and bruises. The drum is HUGE, 2 kids fit in there along with half a load of laundry! LG replaced the lid and said they would work on the child lock aspect and get back to me but I havent heard a thing from them.I dont think it cleans well either, Ive pulled out crib sheets and they still have spit up on them which is gross. Because of the way the drum agitates, items usually end up balled up or tangled together so not everything gets cleaned. On every load I usually set it to the soak cycle so I know everything is getting wet; when I forget is when I find stains that should have come out. Buy any other brand than this one, Im buying a GE even though they are loud machines. This is a quiet machine, you dont even notice that its refilled the washer in the rinse cycle for the past four hours straight as the UE signal doesnt always come on.

My drum cracked like a lot of others did along the front seam. I ignored it for awhile until the noise got too loud. I took the drum out. If you do this, keep track of the sequence that the parts came off and what screws go where. Its not that hard to do. I cut a thin piece of sheet metal to cover the crack and along the outer rim of the drum, drilled 5/32 holes and pop riveted in place. I ground down the pop rivets so they wouldnt catch on the clothes. The dryer is back in service and the total cost for the repair was $2.75. But have no doubt about it, LG products are nothing but cheap overpriced junk. Do not buy!

We purchased our LG refrigerator in December 2012. It was a bottom freezer unit with French doors in stainless steel. A 36 inch wide model that set us back just over $1200. It was a good looking appliance with nice features but not very durable. In November 2018, just weeks before Thanksgiving, the compressor failed. I got online and read numerous horror stories about dealing with LG to have the unit repaired. I was coming up with estimates of around $900 to repair. We found the quickest way to solve our problem was to write it off as a bad decision and get something else. When we were purchasing our new one, not affiliated with LG of course, the salesperson at the store said her LG only lasted two years. I guess we were fortunate to get almost six years before ours gave up the ghost. I have heard newer appliances are not as durable as older models. But something this costly should last for at least ten years if it is taken care of.

I bought LG Refrigerator Model #LFX31925ST about a year ago and all of a sudden it started making this irritating noise that is coming from around the bottom of the fridge. After making so many complaints to LG explaining to them about my problem they were telling me that the fridge was not sitting on a level floor. Making a long story short after a long battle with LG they finally send a technician to fix my problem. He told me to take all the food out of the freezer and he removed the panel that was covering the fan and replaced it with a panel that has a heater. When I asked him why he admitted to me about the design flawed where the fan builds ice and thats where the noise was coming from. He said the new panel has a built in heater so it will not build ice and that he is going around and changing this panel for customers who complain about this problem. For LG not to admit this problem and giving me the run around for more than a year was unacceptable. Had I not bought the extended warranty they would have not bothered to even do anything about it. This is being disingenuous and unfair business practice. So if you have noise problem call LG and ask them straightforward to come and change the panel regardless it being out of warranty or not. Sad but true!

Wish I never bought this dishwasher. I had it fixed when it was less than a year old, replaced a plastic wheel that used to be made of metal. It made a loud screeching noise. Makes noises off and on that are LOUD. You never know when this will happen. Soap door doesnt always open. Top rack started rusting out in the second year. Was told too bad so sad, not covered, ever. When I called for service, cant remember which problem it was, there are more, was told they wouldnt come out because they were having a problem getting paid from LG. Great! Call back in a month or so, well see if they are paying their repair bills! Ok! Called LG for another extended warranty, they said no. Its up to them, and because Id already called, I guess they knew they would have to pay out on it, so they wouldnt extend it. Now I also bought the double 30 oven, and I love it!!! NO problems, its been just over two years now.

Purchased a LG model LSXS26366 at Home Depot. Delivery came 3 days later with a damaged door handle. Depot guy came to my house to replace the handle. Next day we loaded up the new refrigerator with loads of new food. Went to freezer and found all the frozen stuff soft. Door control center has an error code. Open owners manual and follow the written directions only to find out that phone number is no longer a working number. Called LG customer service. Someone can call me back the next day and no they will not replace the rotted food. No service is available tonight. They will have someone call to make a repair appointment. Called Home Depot to have them retrieve this refrigerator and issue credit. Do not purchase LG appliances. This was just a horrible mistake. Won’t happen again.

Please avoid all LG kitchen appliances if possible. Our refrigerator and dishwasher (both only 2.5 years old) has given us nothing but problem. The fridge started making a loud humming and gurgling noise intermittently about 2 months ago. Then 3 weeks ago, the freezer gave out and the following day the whole thing stopped working. Its been 3.5 weeks and we still dont have a working fridge. Apparently, all parts are shipped from Korea which takes days to weeks to get. Our service provider who was referred by Home Warranty of America (also a horrible warranty company) ordered the wrong part which will take another 7-10 days to get the part. I am livid and fed up. Also, our fickle LG dishwasher has been giving us problems since the day we moved in. It turns on when it wants to. We have to constantly reset the breaker for it to function properly.

I purchased an LG kitchen suite from Costco because of the ratings and reputation of both companies. After less than 2 years we started having issues with the food not being cold. We ran all diagnostics and it said nothing was wrong. Now, a little over 3 years later, the freezer and fridge do not work. The repairman gave us a quote that was higher than the price of a new fridge, which I can’t afford. I just don’t understand how the compressor died so quickly. And according to the repairman, the unit will never be the same even after repairing this part. With all the issues with COVID-19, the loss of all the food is difficult since it’s hit or miss if I’ll be able to get the stuff I need for my family of 6. What am I supposed to do now?!?!

The owners manual says the cycle for Bulky/Large/Heavy duty can wash and spin 8LBS. A call to the LG service department said it could do 12-14LBS. We have washed a 6LB mattress cover with no problems. We rewashed it 3 months later and it could not spin, tried to reposition item, the drum went back and forth forever to extract water but still couldnt spin. Months later was the 3 bathroom cotton rugs, 17X24, 21X24 and 22X34 total weight 6LBS it couldnt spin. Before the 5 year extended warranty expired called for service 3 separate times.1st repairman said he had no idea what was wrong and said he would have someone else come out, that didnt happen. 2nd repairman saw the rugs put in the machine, partial wash and then try to spin, took 1 out till wouldnt spin took out another still wouldnt spin. They said they would call LG and get answers, they called back a few days later and said LG said it was one loaded and to remove two, that did not work. We were then told that LG doesnt like to repair their equipment. The 3rd repairman couldnt long enough to see if it would spin. The warranty company gave us $50.00 and said to use a commercial laundry. Very unhappy with LG products. I will not buy again. Im also not happy with extended warranties wont be purchasing those again. Just a word to the wish look at the reviews LG has a problem.

Our washer worked well for four years. Now it is banging and traveling across the floor with each load. I depend on the washer for my business and LG doesnt take this into account when servicing. They told me it would be a week before they could send anyone out. Seems unreasonable. I expected that there would be an emergency service centre. Instead, it looks like Ill be running to the laundry mat each day. Something that will put a great strain on my work. Ill research for better quality washer next purchase. LG seemed good at first, but they break, and they dont back them up with service. I can get emergency service on my boiler, why not for my washer. VERY POOR SERVICE. Washer is worthless as it is.

Purchased model LDE3035SB on 10/27/14. On around the 23rd of Feb (2015) I decided to do the easy clean on my upper oven (this is a double oven range) since it wast that dirty to require the self clean cycle. When it finished I had to wipe the bottom out because there was still water in the bottom. I was about to put the rack back in when I noticed something that I thought was food in the back right corner. I tried to hand clean but it would not clean. I rubbed my fingers over and felt that about a half dollar size section of the enamel was gone. Called LG and they said they would send a repair person out at our expense. We had not used this oven much because we had been gone over all the holidays and could not do much cooking in Jan. because we were having it remodeled and only did toast or baked potatoes or something simple. When the repair guy came out he told me I was pushing the rack back too far and said that LG would not cover anything like this because it was considered cosmetic. We asked if it could be repaired and he said no. We contacted LG and were told they would not do anything about it but for us not to use the any of the self cleaning cycles. If this is true and the blue enamel is only cosmetic, then why cant we use the cleaning cycles. We even went to Lowes to see if they could get something done.... they were told the same thing. Funny thing I was recently told by 2 different appliance repairmen do you know what LG really means when I was asking about my range.... It stands for Lousy Goods. It is only a little over 4 months old and I wont be able to use my self clean. When it gets to filthy, we will toss it and a new rage but not a LG. $1,300 down the drain.

We have had nothing but problems with our LG front loader. Any efficiency savings were eaten up in repairs and having to wash on super duty just to get stuff cleaned. The odor problem is the absolute worst. I just pulled out the detergent area and it was absolutely caked with black mold. It was the worst on the areas where the water is dispensed through. This means that no solutions of solvents would ever get to that source because its before the detergent area entry. We use the special detergents and they take care of he smell for only a few days. Who wants to spend all that time and money maintaining a washing machine. It is supposed to help us simplify our lives. I also had to drain it many times manually to remove the small items that get into and clog the drainage system. How does that possibly happen? That is a seriously flawed design problem. I have read many of the other complaints and they are all the same. At what point can we file a class action lawsuit against this company which has a very poor quality product?

I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice by Home Depot, making this the third unit to electrically fail with smoke coming from its internals after only a 45 second operating cycle. LG was contacted and initially stated that I would be responsible for taking the faulty unit to their authorized repair center in Chino Hills, Ca. - about 15 or 20 miles from my home - and pay for the repair.I informed them that I had taken the liberty of visiting this website and discovered that there appears to be some sort of electrical defect in their microwave considering the number of failures, the description of the failures and the short period of time between its purchase and the apparent electrical collapse of their product. In my experience, an item with a record this poor should be on some sort of safety recall list before it causes an injury or fire, but Ive not been advised of any such recall by either of the two customer service personnel I contacted during the course of our conversations on August 21, 2015.After being placed on hold for an eternity, and refusing to be blown off with what I can only describe as double speak, I informed the initial customer service person and the subsequent one that here in California there are regulations in place to protect consumers against abuses by big corporations with a bait and switch approach to consumer sales. According to this customer service contact, LG boasts their Magnetron has a 10 year warranty but to capitalize on this claim, the consumer must first pay for the labor involved which usually is a large portion of the initial cost of the unit!I have opened a claim or case # of ** with the assisting personnel who now report that there will be either a refund/credit or replacement within 6-8 weeks but they could not elaborate on which. In the interim, Im left without a microwave for the duration. If LG does the right thing, Ill report it, if not Ill provide that information as well.

I purchased an LG refrigerator with a pull-out freezer in 2016. I have purchased a lot of LG products and been fairly satisfied until now. At the beginning of the Global Pandemic the compressor on the fridge broke. I waited several weeks for someone to repair it. I had just done a fairly extensive grocery shop because we were headed into lockdown. I lost a lot of food and it was impossible to even purchase a small bar fridge or freezer - everything was out of stock. LGs customer service was horrible. They call you back in 3-5 business days with an appointment for a technician to come fix it. And you are waiting another week or more for that appointment - all with no fridge! I think I was 3 weeks without a working fridge. The fridge did get fixed but the technician didn’t protect my hardwood floors so I have about a dozen floorboards that got damaged and it took about a year to get that resolved. Well here we are Friday, Dec 17, 2021, and the compressor is shot again! I speak to their customer service and someone will call me back in 3-5 business days to book me a technician to fix it. Unreal. This will be the 3 rd compressor in a fridge not even 10 years old. I do not recommend LG. This LG fridge is complete garbage. In an age where we need to be mindful of adding more crap to our landfills, I think LG (and any other company that produces garbage products) should be held accountable ie a fine, for producing such crappy products. I did some research when the first compressor died and there are lots of people in my shoes. Buyer beware. And their customer service is worse! I will never ever buy LG again.

I purchased a fridge 12/19/16 from Home Depot with delivery for 1/5/16. Once fridge came in and they opened the box it had a dent which I had been told to not accept (Youd think they check them before leaving warehouse as it wasnt caused bringing it in). Called customer service and could not be compensated nor will they make arrangements to schedule a quicker delivery (as 1/17/16 was next available). It was also very frustrating as my husband had taken a day off to attend to this and not only did he wait for nothing I waited over 40 minutes to get an answer. Im not sure what kind of business LG runs but one thing I do know is that I will never purchase a product from them again. They must be out of their minds to think I will wait a month to receive a refrigerator to replace my broken one.

I own an LG washer, model wm2050cw, and it is a piece of junk. I bought it for $598.00 from Home Depot on 3-15-10. After 8 months, it started to leak. Its not just a small leak, it filled the whole laundry room floor not once but 3 times. The repairman LG sent blamed it on me. He said I was using too much detergent and told me to only use 1 tsp. I did and the thing still leaked and my clothes were not clean. The repairman eventually replaced a mushroom shaped gasket that he admitted was a design flaw and that LG had no intention of fixing. Now, the machine is 18 months old. And everything comes out smelling awful, especially towels and washcloths. I have done everything LG says to do - leaving the door open, pulling out the detergent tray, running the clean cycle, using less detergent, etc. but nothing helps. I now have to buy another washer because I cant stand it any longer. My previous washer was a plain GE front load and it never gave me one problem. I sold it because it was old. I wish I had it back. LG needs to be run out of town!

We were shopping for appliances and there was a good deal for the LG bundle. However, the refrigerator had an irreparable leak in the coil. We’ve had it for about six years, but the average lifespan of a refrigerator should be longer than that. There were several visits by the technicians. Ultimately, what they determined was that it couldn’t be repaired and that they would send us the retro value of the unit based on depreciation. So, we ended up getting a check. The actual sending of the check, once it was mailed and I received it at my home, was very quick. But the process of the first technician’s visit to getting them to say that they were gonna send us a check took probably two to three months. It was a really long, drawn-out process.

Our new LG dryer was just delivered last Wednesday. My husband hooked it up on Friday when he returned. I successfully washed (new washer, also) and dried 4 loads of clothes. On Saturday, the 5th, I did not dry because the dryer stopped heating. I contacted LG service who after attempting to diagnose the problem sent a service rep out on Monday. He found the problem to be the electronics board, but he did not have a replacement. He set up a return appointment for Wednesday, but called that morning to say the part was back ordered. It is now almost 1 week since I was last able to dry laundry. Im thinking about returning both appliances to Home Depot.

The fridge was purchased new in February 2017. The linear compressor failed in April 2019, and various other parts have failed since then. Every part (linear compressor, refrigerant valve, freezer evaporator) except the fridge compartment evaporator has been replaced, and it still doesnt work after 7 tech visits. Technicians do not bring parts--they must be ordered and shipped every time--adding more time without a working fridge. Though we have not paid for these tech visits, we have lost money on spoiled food and from missing work to meet the repair folks. In addition, we purchased a different brand of refrigerator after the LG failed for the second time. The purpose of the warranty is to repair the product and satisfy the customer, and neither of those has happened. We want our full purchase price back along with reimbursement for wasted food. Unfortunately, a leading consumer magazine still recommends LG refrigerators. My family does not recommend them.

On June 7 of this year my saga with LG started. They attempted the first repair on my not quite two year old refrigerator (LSFD2491ST) which has an extended warranty on top of being under manufacturers warranty. Till today there have been 6 repair attempts plus a few more diagnostic visits and they havent been able to make it work once. Lately the technician whose name is Kevin but wont tell me his last name has become disgruntled. Has failed to show to his appointments 7 times. This means 28 hours of waiting. He has stated on his last two visits that there is nothing he can do and claims he will deem unrepairable but when I call LG they say he has not named it so.I have asked for alternate solutions with other technicians or perhaps outsourcing to authorized service providers but they just keep rescheduling Kevin who hasnt been able to fix and has just stopped showing up. They say they reached out to him and his manager but nothing happens. The extended warranty company called Warrantech states their hands are tied since they only will use LG. I am out of patience and ideas; seems this company is stalling. This has been disruptive to my family, expensive in having to eat or order out much more often, having to wait for hours for a tech that wont show up and the anxiety that it has produced. Out of patience and idea short of a lawsuit. Anyone with experience in this?

I WONT BUY A LG ELECTRIC RANGE AGAIN. The LG Range Oven model # LRE383ST01 we purchased in 2015 has been nothing but trouble. In the first year the burner and main board went out. Luckily we were still under the warranty so LG sent their technician to replace them. A few weeks after the warranty expired, the glass top made a pop noise and cracked like a spider web on the lower right burner and spread. We called LG, explained the situation and told them this seems a factory part defect. They politely blamed us of dropping something on the glass which was 100% false and they used we are sorry to gently fade their fault with this. We let it go - not to waste our time. Price of a new glass top is near $400. Couple month after the new range top was installed the new glass top cracked again. It couldnt happen at a better time but Christmas Eve 2016, with having family over, around 4 pm while food cooking, the glass top made a loud pop noise and broke again on the lower right burner. Here was my experience with LG Range and dealing with the company who took the easy road to blame the customer for their defective part. Now I have an expensive LG range-oven with another broken glass top. My recommendation: Stay away from LG Range with glass top.

LG has a good reputation, has stylish fridges that work well and last a long time. LG has definitely met my initial expectations. When I do finally purchase another fridge it will most likely be LG as well. Spacious, keeps items cold, never had an issue with it not working or things getting hot. Very good refrigerator that I expect to last a long time. I would like more door shelves and more drawers though. Very rarely it will get TOO cold and slightly freeze certain items, but that has only happened a couple times. 10 out of 10 even with that one tiny minute issues. Would recommend.

I purchased an LG oven as a gift for my sons family in February 2013. After 6 months the oven stopped working. My son called LG and had a repair person come to the house. He had to wait over 3 weeks for the appointment, even after offering to be home at any hour. He has small children and trying to make meals for the 3 weeks was a challenge. Once the oven was repaired we all thought it was good to go. In January 2014 the same problem occurred but this time LG said they cannot get the part (after my son and his family waited another 3 weeks for an appointment). My son and I have spoken to LG and they offered to pay us back for what we paid. Of course they refuse to replace it. It is not longer an item that they make and since we got it on sale so a new LG will cost much more than what they are offering to give us. Shame on you LG. When I purchased my oven, not an LG, and it did not work properly, not only was it replace but it was replaced the next day. I will never purchase anything made by LG again. I purchased an LG WT5101HV Washer and DLGX5102V Gas Dryer in May 2011. For two years, I had no problems with either machine. Occasionally, I received an Unbalanced Error, but if I did receive the error, the load was truly unbalanced. I received a recall letter in the mail in July 2013 and called LG to schedule a recall service, with the assumption that the defective parts (plastic tub supports) would be replaced. LG sent Buy Rite Appliances to do the repair. The technician arrived and told me he was there to do a software update and was in and out of my home within a few minutes. My washer has been unable to complete any cycle that I have attempted since the software update was performed.I called Buy Rite Appliances to report that the machine was unable to complete a cycle, as it was constantly flashing an Unbalanced Error during the cycle, with or without items in the tub, which meant that the tub filled, agitated and emptied over and over and over and over again, without ever switching to the Spin cycle from the Rinse cycle. I was informed by the technician that performed the update that this is normal and that I should pause the cycle upon seeing the error and restart it again. In my mind, this was not normal as I never had to do this before. Before the recall fix I started a cycle. It completed by itself, and then I moved the laundry to the dryer. After that discussion, I called LG and explained my situation to three different people before someone agreed to set another appointment with Buy Rite to have them look at the washer again. The next morning I received a call from Buy Rite basically refusing to come out and look at the machine, as the Unbalanced Errors are normal. I explained again that my machine had not completed a cycle since the update and was unable to switch from Rinse to Spin and that this was not, in fact, normal. They said they would make a call to the tech hotline and call me back. Later that day, they called me back with some more questions and stated that they would call me back when they knew how to proceed. Two days later, I called them to confirm the repair appointment that LG had previously set with them and was told that they determined, without actually looking at the machine, that I would need a Rotor and Stator and that it would be up to me to call LG and get an APM, and that, no, they would not be out for the service appointment.I called LG again and explained the parts and APM situation with Buy Rite to three different people and was ultimately told that I would need to upload my original receipt before a determination could be made on parts approval. I uploaded the receipt and called LG for a status update. After talking to three more people and explaining the situation each time, I was told I would need to be connected with someone to perform a Smart Diagnosis and after that an extended warranty would be issued and only then parts would be approved. When I was connected with the Smart Diagnosis department, I spent over 20 minutes on hold before being told to call back later because they could not pull up the Smart Diagnosis application on their workstation. I downloaded the Smart Diagnosis application to my phone, which diagnosed a Symptom Num (5, 88), which states the symptom needs to contact the call center. I contacted the call center though the phone application and explained my situation to two people at LG. The second person performed a Smart Diagnosis twice over the phone and then told me that I had no problems, it was just an Unbalance Error and I should check the size of the load and the leveling of the machine, etc. Upon beginning to hear this explanation, I abruptly cut the representative off and explained for the umpteenth time that my washer had worked perfectly prior to the Recall Software Update being installed on my machine, and now the machine was unable to complete a cycle, rendering it utterly useless to me. The representative then scheduled yet another appointment with Buy Rite Appliances for 7 days later with approval for repairs. And here I sit, with a broken, recalled machine, waiting for someone to make it whole again. Although I dont have an exploding machine as of yet, I would be more than happy to be a Named Plaintiff in a Class Action. My receipt clearly states that I purchased an LGAP WT5101HV/S-GLA GR/S LG 5.2 1100 RPM HE TOP-LD. This is not what I have sitting in my home now. I have an LG machine that, by all accounts, tops out at 700 RPM due to the software fix, which is false advertising and may yet explode, and is unable to complete a cycle, but fills completely the tub with water over and over and over again in its inability to complete a cycle, wasting both water and energy, rendering it definitely not, in my mind, HE. And there is that mountain of laundry that is accumulating that no one but me seems to care about.

My husband purchased this set less than 5 years ago. Our clothes smell horrible, like mold and mildew. The machine we own is not heavy duty but perfect for my wife and I now that the kids are out of the house. We will buy LG again when we eventually need a new one.

We’ve had some LG refrigerators in the past and my wife liked the looks it. She wanted to have the water and ice cube through the door that accessible ‘cause we had that on our refrigerator before. I like the French doors on the one we bought and the door within the door. We had it delivered then there was an installation issue and we had LG come out and fix it. It was just a matter of not getting the refrigerator fully plugged in 100% when they removed the door to get it through the doorway.

This item had good ratings and suggestions directly to me from store associates and consumer ratings. Online there were very electorate reviews from multiple retailers and review websites about how this refrigerator, in general, was the best one that many of the spoken consumers had every previously owned. I like the water filter, cooling levels, storage space, stainless steal, and ice machine. Additionally, it has a wide breadth, lots of shelves, easy to clean interior and exterior, and good lighting inside the machine. Sound levels, height, and some leakage at the bottom occasionally. Otherwise, there is nothing else I notably dislike. I would improve the quickness of the ice making process for the ice maker machine, and I would also improve the noise levels for lower levels or whirring and shaking noises.

Sadly, we are having similar issues with our relatively new LG French Door top of the line refrigerator. About 6 months ago, the ice maker stopped working. I had to have it replaced -- thought it was covered by Geek Squad protection, but thats another story. NOW it just quit working. No signs or symptoms. Just yesterday it was fine, today everything is thawed. I called LG, tried to trouble shoot over the phone with the smart phone diagnostics which didnt register any information apparently, so I had to call a certified technician. Of course, the ONE that is within an hour of my home, cant even come to look at it for three days and probably wont have the part. The customer service lady did tell me that the compressor would be covered under the ten year warranty but the snarky receptionist for the technician told me only if I have the owners manual and the receipt. Really?? It is clearly a new fridge - ridiculous! Life is NOT good when you have six kids and no refrigerator for a week!

I purchase a top load washer (model # WT1101CW) from Frys electronic June 7, 2013. A year and 5 months later the main board failed. I contacted LG customer service rep to see if a warranty really does exist. To my surprise the panel only has a year warranty according to one rep (Anna) but another rep from parts (Mark) stated when, called by the technician, that the panel has 2 years warranty. I contacted LG rep to speak to the supervisor to clarify the issue but was given a run around.

I purchased my front load LG washer in 2013. I have to clean it constantly because it smells like mold all the time. Half the time I’m not sure if my clothes are actually being washed. But this last issue was just the icing on the cake. I put in a load of towels, walked out on my porch to put my dogs out and my roommate came home to find water all over my front stoop, all over the laundry room floor, the bathroom, the hallway and the two bedrooms on the hallway. It was at least 20 to 30 gallons of water all over. LG had the audacity to tell me I could pay for a tech to come out and diagnose the problem and then I could pay for them to fix it. I have about $20,000 in damage I have to take care of. I’m not paying for their machines mechanical breakdown too. So then they said if I send them my original receipt they will open a case and see if they can send me a tech out to repair my machine but they can’t help me with the damage it has caused. Something in this machine is defective and now I have to pay for it. I would never buy anything from LG again and would not recommend anyone purchasing from them either.

We purchased our LG stove in 2007. I havent had any problems with the stove top but the oven loses heat fast and takes a long time to recoup. When making cookies I have had to add time on to the cook time and when our kids were staying here and used the oven they did not like it because everything took extra time to cook. Has anyone had any issues like this? I am ready to get rid of it, just not happy. I was told by a repairman that came in for my washer (which is a different brand) that LG doesnt have enough experience to be making stoves and refrigerators. He said LG is hard to work with and they will not service them. Any feedback would be wonderful. When you purchase these appliances you are supposed to be excited, now it just scares me, so much money for them not to perform correctly.

My LG refrigerator stopped working yesterday at 3 years old. So LG covers the part but I have to pay $572.00 to have the new compressor installed. And on top of that the parts are a week out and I cannot set up the service appointment to replace the bad compressor until I have the parts in hand. And I was told LG is very bad at getting the parts out. So once parts are in hand I need to set up the appointment and oh by the way they are 2 weeks out because there is only guy that can fix this LG compressor. So that make 3 weeks without a fridge. So I am upset with LG. I looked in my house and I have an LG washer and dryer, 2 TV, sound bar and stove. Do you want to guess who is done with LG products? THIS GUY!

We bought the LG Steam Washer and the Steam Dryer, with pedestals in December of 2008 from Best Buy for more than $2,600. Were a retired couple, doing a maximum of 3 loads (not large) a week. 5 years later, the washer makes a horrendous noise on the spin cycle @ medium speed or higher. Some of the dryer cycles dont run as long as theyre supposed to (and the clothes are still damp). I called LG and they gave me the name of a certified LG repairman in our area, who told us that we needed a new rod and bearings for a total of more than $600. He said we were lucky it lasted this long!!! I called LG back to seek some other recourse, and a customer service person who could barely speak English said there was nothing they could do for me. I sure wish Id read the comments on this website BEFORE purchasing an LG. I will never buy another LG product.

We purchased all new LG appliances for our newly built house. Initially we were very happy with our purchases until our LG Fridge suddenly quit. We had a repair technician come and was told it was the compressor. Unfortunately for us he replaced the compressor but still was unable to fix it. He was advised by LG to remove the new compressor and that we would have to unfortunately purchase a new fridge, but that once the paperwork was sent in LG would be issuing us a rebate for our fridge that was unable to be fixed since it had a 10 year compressor warranty. The original claim was sent in April 2018 and I am yet to see the rebate cheque I was promised, even signed and filled out the paperwork for. I have contacted their customer service over a dozen times now and have not received any better answers than someone will look into it and will contact me in the next 7-10 business days. Which I am yet to be contacted! I am now out the cost of the original fridge, the repair bill for the not fixable fridge and the new fridge I had to purchase to replace the original as well as countless hours on the phone trying to get to the end of this! This has now been going on for 17 months with no better answers or solutions. Needless to say I will never purchase another LG product or recommend LG to anyone! Buyer BEWARE!

My kitchen was filled with 2 LG appliances; a microwave, and a refrigerator
My kitchen was filled with 2 LG appliances; a microwave, and a refrigerator. I’ve had LG products in previous homes as well and although I’ve had to fix them from time to time they have been generally good products. So when it came time to purchase a dishwasher and a range oven I wanted to have a matching set so I went with the LG dishwasher and range oven.My refrigerator is 6 years old now and was not cooling down properly. I called your customer service line to see what could be done and they gave me the name and number of a local technician. I called and set up an appointment with Duncan Home Services. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty compressor. Although it was an inconvenience, I was pleased to remember there was a 10 year warranty on the linear compressors that were in my model of refrigerator (LFX28968ST/01). I called customer service on April 22nd of 2019 to see about getting the compressor replaced. 44 days later and 7 hours, 21 minutes and 42 seconds on the phone with customer support… I still do not have the correct replacement for my faulty compressor.I was given a case number of **. I will detail my dissatisfaction with your call support team later but here is a summation of the issue. In response to my request for a warranty replacement of the compressor, the Tech was sent a compressor with the model number of TCA35533604. This part was identified as a “backup replacement”. The Tech had installed one of these in another refrigerator they worked on just like mine and they knew it didn’t work. Therefore they would not install it and charge me the labor. They determined the correct part was TCA35893202. When they called to order that part they were told it is on backorder until early July.I don’t know if you’ve ever gone without a refrigerator for 2 months but when one is used to it being there, it is ridiculously inconvenient. The summation of what I determined from your customer support team was that I had 3 options that are policies that they say are set by you. 1: Wait another month for the part to come in. 2: I was offered 20% off a new LG refrigerator. 3: If I could produce the receipt then I could be given a new refrigerator. My problems with the above proposals are as follows: 1: I’ve already waited a month and cannot wait another month for a part that may or may not come in. I will be forced to purchase a new refrigerator from one of your competitors. 2: An equivalent replacement refrigerator will be another $2000 minimum. 20% of that is $400. I don’t have $1600 available to buy from a company that is doing a horrible job honoring their Warranty. As I said, I’d prefer to buy from someone else. 3: I know that the refrigerator was purchased at Lowes, I know that it was on or near Black Friday of 2013 but I do not have the original receipt from 6 years ago.I proposed 2 solutions to the problem, but the customer service supervisor said that she didn’t have authority to do either of the 2 options and only you did. I proposed the following: 1: Since the Tech determined that the compressor that LG sent was incorrect they would not Warranty their work. Since I have to pay labor for the installation as that is past the warranty period of 5 years, that is a problem. LG could warranty the work of their tech so I am not on the hook for when the part doesn’t work.2: The correct part (TCA35893202) is available through local appliance parts outlets and retails for around $279. LG could provide a voucher to the tech to purchase the part locally. This would be the quickest and most cost effective solution for all parties in my opinion. So if you could authorize my Option 2 promptly that would be fantastic. I am merely asking for a timely and correct replacement for a warrantied part. Now I spoke with at least 6 different supervisors. They are the 2nd tier of customer support. I have no issue with the first tier of support. They were all professional and as helpful as they could be and got me to the 2nd tier fairly quickly on seven of my ten calls. The 2nd tier of individuals however were the opposite. All I was given were first names so that is all I can provide. They were; Daniel, Brea, Jessie, Jem, Jessica, and Tyesha.Daniel: Daniel informed me that he would send an email to the parts guy Cyrus about the availability of TCA35893202 and he would call me back. That was early May and I never heard from him. Brea: She was generally pleasant but couldn’t help me any. She told me the tech would have to call the parts department to see if the correct compressor was available. (The tech did call and was told that the correct compressor was on backorder.) Jessie: Jessie appeared to be helpful and told me that he/she was going to send an email to Cyrus as well to see if the part was truly back-ordered. If it was, he/she could issue a replacement refrigerator (Which surprised me and I did not ask for.) He/she said I would get a phone call later… I did not, again. Jem: I’m not sure if I have the name right but she basically hung up on me and sent me back to the 1st tier people. They put me back through to the supervisors and I got Jessica. Jessica: I wasn’t particularly pleasant with Jessica as I was beyond frustration at this point. She responded by being extremely unhelpful and refused to walk through the notes of the previous 7 or 8 calls I had made. I told her what Jessie had said earlier about the replacement but she told me there was no Jessie in her office. She ended up telling me that TCA35893202 was NOT back-ordered and it was available but the tech had to order it. (The tech did call again to order it and was told that the part was still back-ordered.) I feel that I was blatantly lied to.Jessie: Imagine my surprise when I in fact got Jessie again despite Jessica telling me there was no Jessie. This time Jessie offered me the 20% off a replacement refrigerator. I told her that was not satisfactory, nor was the waiting until July for the part and that I could not produce a 6 year old receipt. She put me on hold… for a really long time until… Tyesha picked up the line and I got to re-explain everything to her. Tyesha: She just continually reiterated my 3 unsatisfactory options and told me there was nothing she could do and my only recourse was to write you a letter. So here I am. Should this situation not be remedied by my Option 2 listed above or a better idea you come up with yourself I will never be purchasing any LG product again. I will also never recommend an LG product to any family or friends. Although they are not particularly effective against your bottom line, these are my only options for recourse and I will pursue them endlessly. Thank you. Mark **

While working for my employer on the 9th floor, I smelled an electrical burning/fire coming from our snack room. I wasnt sure which machine it was coming from (snacks, soda, countertop water dispenser, coffee maker, or refrigerator). I later learned that the clock on the LG microwave was out and it was humming. When I opened the door of the microwave, the rotating glass was broken in pieces and the microwave was extremely hot like an oven. Updated on 09/09/2021: Earlier this week, I submitted a review about my 2015 LG electric dryer. Today, after 25 minutes of trying screw extractors and the rubber band trick, an LG approved appliance repairman was able remove the front panel to determine the cause of non-heating heat element. Turns out that that there was an electric wire fire near back left side of dryer. A green wire which allows power to the heating element melted, sparked, and melted part of the neutral white wire next to it and there is black soot on the dryer lid. This could have burned down my home with my family in it! Now, have to have an electrician cut off the burnt part of the wire. But, this could happen again.Original Review: In 2015, I purchased a new washer front loading set, only to have to exchange the dryer for top loading model because front load models silicone collar would stink after each load even though I disinfected it after every load. The dryer has been great, but the heating element or thermostat died this August 2021. Worst of all, the dryer cannot be serviced because the factory installed door panel screws were over tightened. The screw heads cannot be drilled into to remove the screws to replace early expired parts. The dryer is now a nothing but a huge paper weight! Do not buy LG dryers. Contacting residential customer support almost impossible. I will be contacting the media should LG not make this right.

I bought an LG over the stove exhaust hood microwave in September 2009. Less than a year later, the door cracked along the frame. This hood was covered under warranty. Again, in 9 months, the second door did the same thing. I was referred to Warner Stellians headquarters customer service. Susan ** dealt with LG, who said too much time had lapsed since the original warranty expired. She then contacted their sales rep who came back with the same response. Therefore, Warners Stellian will do nothing about the door. I think the second door should have been under warranty because it was a new door. Otherwise, the microwave should be replaced. The plastic construction of the microwave door is defective; its failed twice, both times within 9 months of installation.

LG gas range, purchased July 2015, not sure of the model. Beautiful appliance (hence the 2 stars instead of 1), but some issues: The 2 front burners on the cook top (the ones I use most), dont always want to ignite (have to check visually to make sure). A few months ago, started noticing that the oven would preheat correctly but not hold its temperature, so couldnt rely on it. Started getting F9 Heat Error while attempting to preheat, then the igniter failed entirely and had to be replaced. Cost me a few hundred bucks.Tonight, about an hour after turning the oven off, we heard a *crash* in the kitchen. I ran out to find that the outer glass on the oven door had shattered into a million bits and there was broken glass all over the floor. No one in the kitchen and nothing in the oven. Hours later, Im still hearing cracking and glass falling. This is dangerous. Thankfully it didnt happen while my dog was home alone. Not sure what to do at this point, whether its worth the cost of another repair or if I can even trust it, should I decide to go that way. The range was pricey, and Id hoped to get good and reliable use of it for a long time. Didnt expect to have problems within 3 years, certainly not 2 major problems within a month. Never bought LG before, probably wont again. Pretty disappointed, and wouldnt recommend to others, based on my experience.

We also splurged and purchased the LG combo after being told they were the best. We had them 4 months and the washer began to leak. We had the service people out 7 times. Of course, it would not leak when they were here. We also had the disgusting odor and high-pitched scream when filling with water. The service men informed us that it could no way be their problem--it had to be something we did. They also had no idea how to get rid of the smell. We were still under warranty at the time. I had to keep taking off time from work to be here when they were here. The last time they were here, though, I walked in on one of them talking to their dispatcher complaining that they had been here several times and they were making no money on this call. Isnt that great? I have a faulty washer and dryer and they are worried about money? What about the money we spent on these relics? Needless to say, that was the last time they were here. I just happened to ask a sales lady at Home Depot about the odor and she told me about the front panel and draining that tube and actually running Clorox bleach through the machine. She also said do not use Downy whatever you do as it builds up on the drum and does not come off and always leave the washer door open. But, now, there’s a new problem: the light never goes off in the washer. It used to. I emailed LG and their response was you need a service call. Are you kidding? I am so sorry I did not check and observe this as my 30 day free return period has passed by just 10 days. I would definitely have returned this washing machine if I had known it doesnt have a means to sense how much water to put into the tub. Also trying to get service on their website is not easy. Countless UE warnings and subsequent UE shutdowns despite manually redistributing load and sorting by evenly weighed items. Water hammer on our plumbing from rapid cycle solenoid function when not experiencing uneven load. We will continue to hope for best while querying the web for updates and solutions (yeah... sure). Its crazy to hope for and experience elation just because the machine occasionally runs back to back loads trouble free. Purchased the largest 110v LG Window Air Conditioner at Home Depot on January 9th 2013. On May 26th the Unit started freezing up. Contacted LG, it took 16 days to get a technician out to diagnose, then 4 days to wait for a new Condenser. 2 weeks later the unit froze up again. Called LG whom sent out the same Technician the next day and he stated it was low on refrigerant. This is a sealed unit that was ice cold on the day of the first repair, but he stated it was not fully charged, so he charged it. Three weeks later the unit froze again. LG stated they would send the same Technician the next day for a third attempt, and that if it could not be resolved they would then replace the unit. I was told the appointment time would be between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. but after having left work early my wife waited there all day for nothing. The technician never called or showed. At 6:05 p.m. I called LG who stated not to worry he would be there some time that night. At 8:15 he showed up. I was there for this visit. I am a 30 year GM Technician and hold both ASE, Robin Aire, IMACA and GM A/C certifications. I watched the technician hook a gauge to the unit and the readings with the unit on was 60psi on the low side. They do not use a high side. The needle never waivered, yet the evaporator was frozen as were the lines leading toward the compressor. He claimed that the evaporator must be clogged. I replied it had been professionally cleaned the first time it froze up in May even though it was only 5 months old. He was adamant the unit could not breathe, so we took the unit outside and with a flashlight removed the evaporator and flushed the unit with a hose and found no debris, no mold, no dirt, nothing restricting the cooling fins. The water was clear and went straight through front to back and top to bottom. This stumped and confused the technician who claimed he did not know what was wrong. We reinstalled the unit and turned it back on and watched it start to freeze again the exact same way. I stated that where the freeze point ended had to be the point of an internal restriction debris, etc. and he stated that it must be a free floating internal restriction but had no idea how to fix it. So he wrote a note saying the system was fully charged and cleaned and he found nothing wrong. I was left with an A/C unit that still does not cool and freezes up. I called LG today, they had previously told me that after three repair attempts they would replace the unit. However today, they stated they would send a different technician who could give a different opinion, then they would consider replacing the unit. I was extremely upset and was beside myself with anger. First I was lied to about the time of the appointment, then I was lied to about third time repair attempt and they would replace my unit. Now I am expected to lose more time at work to be there for another repair attempt when they have failed in the last three to make a repair. There must be another way to resolve this short of buying another unit. I have a three year replacement plan with Home Depot but it does not start until after the year is up and that is still 4 months away, and in the heat of Florida I will not last 4 months with out A/C. This is unacceptable and should not be the way a company treats their customers. I will never buy another LG product and will pursue this until I get some type of resolution, I am just not sure what or when that may be.

Purchased a LG Refrigerator from Home Depot in July of 2012. Within probably a month, I had to call the company and have them come and service the freezer as it was completely frosted up. I did not find the person on the phone to be polite at all and pretty much implied that I had done something to make the freezer frost up. That problem was fixed and I have not had any further issues with the freezer. However, the plastic shelves are pretty much all broken as well as the plastic drawers. I called the company on two occasions to complain about this and once again I felt that the phone staff were very rude. I told them that all the shelves were broken so they sent me one shelf. Doesnt do me much good as they are all broken and some of the support for the shelves to sit on are also broken. I would never, ever, ever purchase a LG product again. Their support staff not very polite or helpful and the product is horrible.

I bought a LG refrigerator 5 years ago, which stop cooling due to leak in sealed system. Warranty 7 years. They refused to repair or replace and offered 40% of initial amount paid and it took them 4 weeks to resolve this. So be prepared to spend a few thousand dollars again within 5 years. Never an LG again! Technician who came to have a look at it suggested to buy KitchenAid or Whirlpool. The delivery man said he was not surprised to have to bring back the LG. It happens often?

I owned a washing machine model WD-65130F but it broke down since August 2011. Until now I am still unable to fix it because there are no spare parts according to the service provider and I need to import spare parts from Korea. My question is - I cant get spare parts in 3 months? What kind of back up service does LG provide?Im upset and shared my bad experience with my community not to buy LGs product anymore because until now my problem is unsolved and complaint after complaint have been made but sadly not even a feedback from LG. I do wonder if the web page is real or false.

We bought our LG 4 years ago at Best Buy. We have always bought Whirlpool refrigerators in the past and they all worked well for TEN years or more. This LG is a piece of junk!!!! During the first couple of years, we had to have a repairman out twice for the icemaker. The second time, they had to order a replacement part for the motherboard. About a month ago, the refrigerator-part stopped cooling. We called the only qualified repair shop in the area and were told that it would be a week before they could get to us. For some unknown reason, it started cooling several days later so I cancelled the appointment. It cooled for several weeks and then stopped again. Now, both the refrigerator and the freezer have stopped. We have called the repair shop again and must wait 5 days for them to come and they will probably have to order parts. So, we have no idea when it will be fixed. If I could afford to throw it out the door, I would. I will NEVER, NEVER buy another LG refrigerator.
