It is a new model side by side with water and ice maker. The temperature is very uneven, inside it has surprisingly little storage room in both fridge and freezer. Very difficult to fit food in due to awkward spaces. Would not buy again or recommend.

I purchased a side-by-side Whirlpool refrigerator in May 17, 2010 from Lowes in Gilroy. After 17 months of service, the compressor went down this morning. I have called the service center and they cant give any help because it was over the 1-year limited warranty. More than $500 is good for just 17 months usage. Would it be worth it to have Whirlpool appliances? Do think about it before you choose a Whirlpool refrigerator.

Im a renter, and I know the landlord purchased the least expensive stove for this apartment, but that shouldnt mean one has to absorb ongoing off-gassing fumes for well over a month now. The stove was installed 2-18-17, and its now 4-6-17, still havent been able to use it. Is this really off-gassing or is this what Americans have to contend with now! Oh and theres the little sticker that says Made in America and in small print it says designed and assembled in America, but no mention as to where the parts came from!!! The only reason Im giving even a One Star rating is because I cant continue through this review without at least marking one star.

I purchased a Whirlpool water heater and after working fine for about 2 1/2 years, I began having problems with it staying lit. I dealt with troubleshooting beginning in January of 2012 and finally in March of 2012, I was sent some replacement parts. The unit worked fine through the summer and once the weather started getting cold in October of 2012, I began to have problems with the unit again. After a couple of months complaining and threatening to file a BBB complaint, I was sent all of the parts left to change on the water heater. And I was told after the parts were changed if the unit still did not work, that it was probably a venting issue and that I would be responsible for that issue and the unit was not defective. I received the parts on 12/04/12 and they were changed out the same day. Now the unit will light when I hold down the button to light it but once I let go, the pilot light goes out. At least before changing out the parts, the unit was able to be turned on and sometimes it would work and other times it didnt, but now it will not light at all. This is very frustrating because the unit is under warranty and Whirlpool has for an entire year fought me tooth and nail just to send me the parts for the unit, only for the unit to still not work. I have a family and it is discouraging to not know when you are going to have hot water, having to constantly fix the unit or to call Whirlpool to troubleshoot and finally for the unit to still not work after replacing the parts. It looks like I will not have any hot water at all now.

I have a Cabrio washing machine that is just barely two years old. I have already spent over $500 on repairs/service calls. The first repair was the drum which cost $300 + to repair. Typically, my experience with washing machines is I buy a new one after years of service simply because I want a more updated model. I just bought a different brand to replace the Cabrio as it has another broken hinge (one rusted out. How bizarre is that?) And it wont work on some of the choices for cycles. The first time I called whirlpool, they were totally unresponsive and told me there was not any problems with the machine even though the part I needed was on backorder for three weeks. I have never been so frustrated with a product I thought was a reliable brand, not!

We purchased a brand new home with a brand new Whirlpool microwave in it. It was a combo, over the range/hood vent, model WMH1162XVB-0. Every now and again, sparks fly when preparing vegetables. Three times a repairman came to our home with no results. Each time, the problem persisted, with no improvement. On the first visit, the diagnosis was that we did not know how to properly use a microwave. It was noted that they gave us operating instructions and a personal tutorial to solve the problem. On the 2nd visit, we were instructed to buy a protective cover for our bowls when using the microwave. I asked if this would solve the problem, and was told no, but at least we wouldnt see it. This time, the random sparks happened in front of the repair man. He responded that it was the high iron content in the corn and peas that would ignite the sparks. Also, he said we needed to thaw everything before putting it in the microwave. Again, our issue was listed as consumer-use error and nothing was done.On the 3rd visit, we explained that we could not use the microwave on any setting higher than 70 for risking of sparks flying. We showed him the cover we were using, and the permanent marks being left by sparks. Again, the serviceman witnessed the sparks flying, even on thawed peas and corn that simply needed to be heated. He responded that by adjusting the power, and using the cover, we were obviously learning how to work the microwave and informed us that the next service call for this issue would be at our expense. There was nothing they would do for us, as the problem was our fault, not theirs. We explained that other neighbors with the same microwaves are not having this trouble, and we felt it was simply a faulty unit. He didnt seem to agree, nor care what we felt.I have been using microwaves daily for over 20 years. Our neighbors, having the same exact model, have had no issues at all. I know this is simply a faulty unit, and feel endangered each time I use the microwave. Whats even worse is the way Whirlpool has handled our situation. Our microwave is now 4 years old, and I have learned to rely on my toaster oven. When people visit, we have to caution them on the microwave. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliance for my home again. I do not trust the quality of their products or their service.

Purchased the Whirlpool electric range with aqua lift technology. Have the stove for 21/2 yrs and have tried contacting Whirlpool on numerous occasions. Email and telephone. Only response I get from them, is that Im doing something wrong. How can you do anything wrong? Add water, push button. I finally put in a call to World Headquarters but had to leave message and nobody has returned call. I finally called a whirlpool serviceman and he told me the Aqua lift is not a true self cleaning oven. The temperatures dont get hot enough. It was meant to just loosen the dirt on the bottom and then you have to scrub. The button you press to start the process on the stove states SELF CLEANING. I believe they have mislead the public with their advertising. Im thinking about any options I may have.

Bought a model wdt730pahz in Nov 2017. Up until recently it ran fine and we were very happy. Some folks have reported that the soap dispenser door gets stuck. Same here. In our case we found, when using those detergent pods, to make sure that they are pushed all the way into the dispenser before you close the lid, or the lid jams. Other than that, the dishwasher got the dishes nice and clean. However, after just two years of using it maybe 3 times a week (there are only 2 of us) the motor died. Youd think a new motor ought to survive at least 500 cycles. Anyway, parts and labor was quoted at nearly $400. Debating whether to fix or replace the dishwasher. Might try ordering a motor and pump and replacing it myself.

Immediately after purchasing an entire kitchen of Gold Series kitchen appliances including the refrigerator with bottom freezer in 2/2013 from Lowes we began having issues with the refrigerator. I am not an engineer and dont profess to be, but even I can figure out that the whole thing is a problem based on a design issue. The top drips water consistently and has from the first, which has been addressed numerous times. Ice maker replaced trying to fix the situation two times. The freezer guides were messed up and off from the beginning, and had to be ordered-waited for, then installed. In total a repair person has been here, an inconvenience on our part - 7 or 8 times and we still dont have a refrigerator that works properly! The last time we had someone look at it, there was a part that had to be ordered from, yes, Mexico and we had to wait a week or so and they told us they could rent us a loaner!!! Are you kidding me?? I should have kept the old 26 yr old fridge in my garage that is still working that was built in America! After buying $8000 in appliances and supposedly a top of the line brand name that in the past has shown integrity to their products... I pay my bill each month, because if I didnt someone would put it on my credit. But who puts it on Whirlpools credit? Who is going to hold them accountable and how many complaints must there be in order for someone in the government to step up and do something to a company that is taking tax dollars from our US and sending it to other countries but selling less quality products to those who do pay the taxes? I am ready to sign a petition! I should have gone with the other brand! Any other brand would have given me a better shot than this of having less of an issue! Terrible experience and certainly NOT GOLD! Shame on YOU Whirlpool!

Its a piece of junk. The only time it will finish a wash and spin dry is when it is empty. Otherwise, it stops and lists an unbalanced error code. I opened up the service panels and found no broken hangers or clothes. There’s no way to bypass the system. I have read of similar issues and of course, its just out of warranty. I assumed the warranty was like other brands but it’s much shorter. What to do? Purchase a washer with dials and not a brain; it will last years. Note that the models without a brain cost far less.

I purchased a Whirlpool (Cabrio) Washer on March 1 2018. I previously had a Roper top loader with an agitator that was 22 years old. I used that washer for that many years and washed clothes 6 out of the 7 days of the week. Probably at least 20 loads a week. I never had a problem with it getting my clothes wet & clean. It never left them dirtier after washing them than they were before washing them. I am so disappointed in this washer!!! I can see it will not do any good to complain to Whirlpool because apparently they dont care about their customers. They think theyre products are perfect when they are far from it. I plainly told the associate I wash clothes every day. Really dirt clothes. (My son is a mechanic). I need a good washer. I can wash them by hand better than this washer does. I am very thankful I have not paid the full price for this washer yet. I will be calling them to come pick it up when my next payment is due. I will be going to one of the local consignment or thrift stores and purchasing myself an old timey top loader washer with an agitator for $100 or less. Whirlpool I had high hopes with this product and would have been buying a dryer to match soon but I believe I will stick to my Roper products or anything other than Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold from ABC Warehouse in Flint, MI, for $2099.00
I purchased a Whirlpool Gold from ABC Warehouse in Flint, MI, for $2099.00 before tax and it was delivered on 10/22/2010. Head-liner of inside of refrigerator has a crack about 3-3 1/4 inches long and the refrigerator is running more often. A repair tech came today, 10/14/2011, and did his job fine. He called Whirlpool and they stated to fix it with epoxy? The repair tech is ordering this. I called Whirlpool at 9:00 am right after the tech left at 1-800-253-1301 and spoke to Sherry. I explained everything to her in a very nice manner and she stated that according to the manual, they give us it is for repair only? I said, ok, could I please speak to her Supervisor and she said yes but it will be the same answer. I spoke to her supervisor, Lisa at 9:15 am, she came on talking about the problem and let me talk, I asked her on several occasions are you still there, and she said yes, her words were that Whirlpool only repairs nothing else for the year as per my paperwork (record). I said we dont even get this till after we purchase the item, I mentioned I had a Cabrio Washer and it was junk and had more service calls than any other machine I owned. I have a stove as well from Whirlpool it’s been good so far, I told her with service like this, and them knowing their liners are made of cost cutting saving materials as I have read enough complaints about this on the internet, that Whirlpool is eventually going under and so are the other small shops that do part work for them and their jobs will be outsourced to Japan, China, India and so on, I asked if there was another person higher up than her I could speak to and she said no, they’re not available at this time I snickered and said thats management for you. They have a customer service rep (call center complaints which is Sherry), then supervisor like you (Lisa) then some other management that dont want to talk to you. Way to go Whirlpool. I told her to document that I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and I will definitely tell others and so on, and if we get enough folks to ban them they will leave USA or close and then Sherry and Lisa will be unemployed just like the rest of us in the good ole USA. Poor appliances for folks that can barely afford to make it and if you’re lucky and working like me and you buy something; shouldnt a refrigerator last more than this, and you stand behind your products? I also told her I know some are abused but this was not an abused product from me. It is a Whirlpool ‘cut your cost savings product’, and forgets the customer. Please look at the old appliances, I also mentioned I have an old Amana in my garage that is 17 years old runs great and never had a problem. And I gave her up for this piece of junk Whirlpool. I then told her I will write letters, emails and everything I can think of to ban this make and product. Model number of this refrigerator is GI7FVCXWBO, freezer on the bottom, fridge on top, side by side doors, solid black with ice maker. When I purchased this I bought it to last a long time as I had to finance it, and take from our monthly income. I had never had a nice fridge, but heck this is not nice. It’s a joke and the sad part is, I owe over $900.00 still and just got laid off. Thanks to the good ole USA and Michigan, but I will pay it off no matter what cause I pay my bills, and stand behind my name as a good person and citizen unlike Whirlpool. Boycott their products as they dont care about us or the American workforce. Oh, and this damage was not caused by abuse to the fridge - it was poor quality of materials in their products. Thank you for letting us complain about products! Also, it’s not like I can go out and buy another refrigerator as it took me over 18 years to get this one. Thanks WHIRPOOL for letting me down on another bad product but it will never happen again. Ive definitely learned and will teach others. Its just not fair that these big manufacturers can get away doing this to the poor people, maybe its like they say; corporate greed?

We purchased the Whirlpool model# BFG1J4040T3NOV 40 gallon natural gas hot water tank in the spring of 2010. The pilot light went out this weekend, 2011. And it will re-light but does not stay lit. This was bought at Lowes, rated as a 9-year warranty on the tank and parts. This is premature failure of a product that is listed as 9 years. Due to all the other similar complaints of this Whirlpool hot water tank, I would like my money back plus installation. I do not want the Whirlpool replacement as obviously it does not work. I will use a different brand and vet it much better in the future. We almost purchased at Home Depot but decided it would be a better bet to go with the Whirlpool reputation and name and Lowes than with the only Home Depot option, which is the self branded water heaters. It was a big mistake!

I would not give this any stars! I purchased a Whirlpool gas range (model #WFG371LVB1) just 2 years ago at Lowe’s. The oven heats up to 475 no matter what temperature it is set at. The Whirlpool authorized service agent said it needed a control board which would cost $650 to install. The repair company found one for less--only $300. After reading all of the other complaints about these ranges, weve decided not to repair it and will probably have to replace it soon. We have been Whirlpool customers for years and will not purchase another Whirlpool product. There should be a recall on any of their products that have these continual problems. The oven cannot be safely used for normal baking.

I had a Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01. Purchase 3/13/2010. I had repairman after repairman come to fix it. The last one probably saved my family and my house. The light in the back corner was not only blinking, but flashing rapidly, much like some wild party light. It eventually stopped. The freezer works perfectly fine, the fridge works when it wants to. The ice maker makes ice some days but not others. The motor on the ice dispenser is completely frozen up. Does that all sound about right? If it does, clean it out and cut the power to it before someone gets electrocuted or your house catches fire.If you cant find the electrical diagram, or the company wants $455 to answer your questions, look under the right side of the freezer draw, but not on the draw. Remove the guard on the very bottom of the unit, near the wheels on the right side. You will feel a plastic bag attached to the underside. Inside that bag is the complete diagram of all the wiring harnesses along with the schematic for the amps and voltages for each wire. Are they telling your circuit board is bad and you will need a new one? Before you do that, inside the fridge compartment, in between the water filter and the ice maker, remove the light cover. Notice that inside that space is the access to another panel. Remove that panel. BE SURE THERE IS NO POWER RUNNING TO THE UNIT FIRST. Here you will find a connection plug with more or less 15 wires that are connected to the main wiring harness. Above that plug you will find a holding chamber. This holding chamber contains water from the filter that is waiting to go to the ice maker. It has dripped condensation on the plug since the day you first turned on your fridge. Your wires are most likely broken and corroded. You will need to have your unit completely rewired, but because of the design flaw that fix will only buy you another 4-5 years. My Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01 left yesterday 5/15/2014 and none too soon.

I purchased a washing machine in year 2002. It was working perfectly. Recently, its drive belt started slipping. I called local service center, S. R. Enterprises, with mobile number 9204792391.The technician came after 3 days and declared that the gear box is leaking and will have to be replaced. They had no gearbox in stock for model f45, top loading, fully automatic. After a wait, they took away the machine to their workshop on 30.09.2011 and returned it on 04.10.2011.They charged me Rs. 4,730. I will have to be replaced. I found that its LID, which was perfectly okay, is now making a terrible sound when opened and would fall down, not allowing to load the machine. I informed the service center immediately. After many reminders, a man turned up yesterday and declared that the LID will have to be replaced and I will have to pay Rs. 2,000 for that. I rang up the service center to say, Since it has been damaged in your workshop, you should replace it free of cost to me. Their reply was evasive and negative. I called your call center and they registered my complaint - customer number **, comp. number **. I was assured that the LID will be replaced within 24 hours.

I bought my home four years ago with a Whirlpool 50-gallon water heater in it. It was installed in December 2002. Well, my hot water went out. After being told I could go to Lowe’s because they would supply the part free of charge because there was a recall on the thermocouple unit. I went to Lowes. No luck there. They told me they didnt carry the whole replacement unit and I would need a number from Whirlpool. The guy at Lowes was very nice but said I was the fifth person to come in this week.I called Whirlpool and was told because I was not the homeowner that had purchased the item that there was no warranty on the product and that I would have to pay for the part. It cost $34.98 plus shipping, which was another $30.00 because I had it shipped overnight. Two days with no hot water was enough. Well, I got the part and hopefully there is nothing wrong with it as it was shipped in a box twice as big as needed with no packing what so ever.I just got off the phone with them again but this time spoke with a supervisor that told me there was no need for packing. There was no part of the entire assembly that could have been damaged. Will I ever buy anything with the Whirlpool name on it? Not only no, but ** no! Will I tell everyone I know about this? You bet. I am also going to write to Lowes and ask why they are continuing to sell inferior appliances such as these. I have to tell one realtor friend about this and just placed a call to another to tell him. The first had no idea that appliances that were marked still under warranty did in fact have no warranty at all if its a Whirlpool. I may write a letter to the editor of our local newspaper and hope that they will publish it to inform anyone reading the paper about these inferior products.

We purchased a Whirlpool gas range on 12/3/11. It was to be delivered later that month and days before delivery we received a call the stove was damaged. They asked if we wanted it and could get it at a reduced price. We said no, we wanted a new one and that one was delivered on 1/4/12. This stove has had many service calls to fix the ignite for the oven. The ignite and a circuit board for this problem has been replaced many times. The smell of gas in the house is terrible from the many times you try to light the oven. This problem has happened many times when a family event was going to be done (Thanksgiving, making Christmas cookies). It is also very poor advertisement for the company and stove to have this happen when there are so many people around. They will have a tendency to spread the word by mouth. PS: When we called (12-13-13), the woman stated after 4 calls for the same thing there should be a replacement or a refund of money (All the calls have been for the same thing OVEN IGNITE and GAS SMELL).

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2010 GS5VHAXWY00 side-by-side door ice maker. From the beginning, when crushed ice was used, the dispenser would freeze up. I had to remove the container to defrost. The container will not go back in place.Do not ever buy an indoor ice maker. I am out of warranty---very little help from Whirlpool customer service. They will be glad to send a service person.

Cabrio top loading washer - I have had this set for 3 years. The first 8 months it was fine, then came all the rust. I had to go to the BBB and file a complaint as everyone at Whirlpool would not help. Last year they finally replaced the top, and now, its rust yet again. I rinse and dry the machine when I am done using it. The repair man said it was because manufacturers are not using primer and just one coat of cheap paint. What now? Ill see if I can get the lid off and sand it and use rust preventer on it. Never again, I should just junk this piece of crap and Whirlpool should shut down if they cant make anything worth our hard earned money.

Purchased this Dishwasher on Feb. 28, 2015. In June 2016 about a 2 by 3 inch section of the enamel face on the door rusted and fell off above the air vent. After three hours of hold time between Lowes (with the extended warranty) and Whirlpool (their warranty department) it was determined that this was not covered by either warranty as it was beyond the date of the 1-year mfg warranty and was not covered by the extended warranty (it was only a cosmetic issue). As these calls took place over a matter of 2 days, it was interesting that between day 1 and day 2, Whirlpool had issued a statement that no rust repairs would be covered under any warranty repair - regardless, unless it affects the functionality of the dishwasher. In other words, they KNOW this is an issue with this model and are doing nothing to fix the problem. I must say that the folks at Lowes were most helpful; cannot say the same for the folks at Whirlpool. I do not think I will trust their products again.

Purchased new from Best Buy for over $1000. One or two months after the warranty expired the ice through the door malfunctioned, would only spit out crushed all over the floor then clog up. Didnt bother to repair it, just open the freezer. Next, the door would not seal right and frost builds up in my frost free. Also, the ice delivery wont close tight. Now the unit is about 3 years old and I just finished paying it off and all the door shelves are cracking. Contacted Whirlpool and was told by email politely, Too bad. You are out of warranty, but please buy parts from us and say nice things about Whirlpool because we so value our customers. Never will buy Whirlpool again and recommend you DONT.

Whirlpool refrigerator Model WRT771RWYW01 - Having been pleased with my old Whirlpool, I made the mistake of buying one now made outside the US. First, we had to have the cold cut tray replaced, which was covered in our warranty and not a problem. Then, we complained because you can only put things on the front half of the shelves or they freeze solid. We were told, This is the way they are made, dont put things in the back.” So, I have to put my eggs in sideways so the back ones dont freeze and cant use the back portion of the refrigerator shelves. I paid a lot and I am angry. Lets go back to the US people where things were made right.

We bought Whirlpool duet front loading washer and matching dryer. In 3 years the water level seemed like it was off. Clothes, especially towels were coming out stinky. Eventually you could hear the clothes were merely flopping around wet. Before we could order the repair part it completely quit and locked our clothes into it. I washed my clothes at my daughters house for a week and dried them at home. Within the week the dryer quit. Not having the money to repair both machines, my son gifted me a set of top loading washer/dryer. Again Whirlpool. In a week we had repair service out. They replaced everything possible and it still didnt work right. Since the 90 days from purchase was approaching we returned it to the store and they had Whirlpool send us a brand new dryer. This one worked for a month then stopped spinning. I havent called for service yet because now with 3 broken machines I am so disgusted. When I think about them I feel like I am going to puke. My washing machine shouldnt be the worst thing in my life, especially since it was a lovely gift from a wonderful son.

There is almost NOTHING I like about my new $1000 Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum
There is almost NOTHING I like about my new $1000 Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washing machine! The clothes dont get clean. Stains become PERMANENT because clothes are spun and matted so tightly together, the 2 inches of water allowed into the tub cant dissolve them. Fabric softener stays a gummy substance because it has to be SUCKED out of the dispenser, not sprinkled out with water. I pin socks together to keep them in pairs, but this machine rips them apart and the safety pin end up in the bottom. My bathroom rugs are shredded. You cant add an extra item if you need to, because the tiny portion of water leaks out. There were DRY spots still on the sheets at the end of a cycle. This machine is an engineering nightmare, sort of like the Edsel. The only action programmed to clean the clothes is a wiggling motion on the floor of the tub. The tub spins so much, energy goes through the roof. Man was given 3 survival elements to assure our existence on earth: water, air, and food. Why are engineers trying to faze out our use of water? This machine has dazzling looks, but NOTHING else. I am so sorry I didnt read all the reviews first. Who would ever think the environmentalists would inflict such pain on our basic domestic obligations! If I dont get my money back or a decent exchange at Sears where we bought it, Im taking the machine to their parking lot and commencing a show with a baseball bat.

There is oil on my floor under the washer and Rent-A-Center doesnt care and its under their Benefits plus program. They were to send off both washer and dryer last time and had no paperwork where washer was sent off at all. It has ruined a lot of my clothes with spots and I used the Tide pods. Stopped using them cause they were not working. I will never buy another Whirlpool product or appliance. Water pump went out in one year... Why would you not care about your customers... Bought a Whirlpool dishwasher approx. 3 years ago from Home Depot and it just quit working. Troubleshooting did nothing. Called Whirlpool to make sure there was no recalls on it. I have owned many Whirlpool appliances and bought this last one because of past good experience. Turns out, after $300 plus repair, it was the control panel. The repairman said, This should not have happened, it is like new. I asked him if he thought it was a lemon? He just looked down, it happens. I am so disappointed in the quality of Whirlpool. Purchased our stainless steel Whirlpool Gold range hood microwave oven in J
Purchased our stainless steel Whirlpool Gold range hood microwave oven in January 2011. By August, there were problems. It was noisy. It would occasionally shut off for no apparent reason and eventually in August of that same year, it completely stopped heating. The magnetron was replaced at no charge because it was still under warranty. The microwave has continued to run very loudly, vibrate a lot and is still prone to random shutoffs. Now a little over 2 years later, it has now stopped heating again...I am assuming another bad magnetron. How is that possible? Our last microwave lasted for over 10 years! In fact we got rid of it when it was still working fine so we could get this one for over the range instead of on our countertop. So now I have a Whirlpool paper weight for which I originally paid $485. When I called Whirlpool, I was informed a service call would be $130.00 PLUS any necessary parts and labor costs OR I could purchase the repair plus 1-yr extended warranty for $289.95. Upon requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was informed that there were no flags in the system indicating any problems with this line of microwaves. I further inquired on how they are aware of problems... Essentially a phone call warrants little proof of any problem. A service tech would have to actually go out and witness that there is a problem for it to be noted. So, for those of us that simply decide to turn our back on the product and buy a new microwave, it would go undocumented by their company. My top-of-the-line microwave is less than 3 years old and has broken down again. Doesnt common sense tell you that there is a problem with the quality? I know Whirlpool has been around for 100+ years and I really want to like them, but if they dont support the consumers that purchased their products, I can no longer do the same for them.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 washer based off the salesmans recommendation (not very happy about this). After the warranty ran out, every time in the spin cycle, it makes a sound similar to a piece of metal banging around inside the cylinder during the cycle. Our friends have told us they had a similar experience and for their machine, they found out the bearings were going out. Weve had this machine a total of 3 years. I doubt we ever buy another item from HH Gregg plus will do our investigation on Consumer Buyers digest before we toss any more money out for a washing machine.

Horrible. We purchased the set In October 2010. It worked great for a little over a year. (Go figure, just out of the manufacturers warranty.) The washer stopped spinning out water. Every other cycle completes successfully. The diagnostic cycle is also successful but once there is clothes in the machine, it wont spin. I called customer service and was told that a one year warranty was $230 and service is $130 plus parts. After reading another horror story, it seems that this venture is going to cost us around $450 for a new circuit board. Where is that class action suit at again?

I purchased a washer and dryer set, the Cabrio Platinum Series WTW8500BRO, about 3 years ago. I had a UL code come up a year ago and the machine was serviced and all was back to normal. Then only 9 months later it started acting up again. This time it sounds like an airplane taking off and there is a black spatter leaking from underneath, also the lid lock stopped engaging. I started to look up the error code for the lid lock and while reviewing that issue it was an easy fix, however, the noise and black spatter issue led me to tons of horrible reviews about this product. It is a bearing/tub/shaft issue that is going to cost me $500 to fix. First off I did not pay cash for this set, I rented it for 3 years and paid twice what it’s worth, around $4,000. Stupid on my part but I couldn’t afford it the other way. Weekly payments were easier. Now I am scared to fix this product because of all the reviews I’ve seen from other consumers. I haven’t had the other issues like dirty clothes, not enough water, high cycle times because they all start with a high number but after it configured the load the time shrinks, but this major issue about the bearings, they say I have to replace the entire tub assembly which is half the cost of the unit. So stupid and I cannot believe Whirlpool is getting away with this crap. Please please please inform me about any lawsuits. I will gladly participate in that. They should be held accountable for such a worthless piece of junk. Like I said I am now afraid to fix this machine because from what I’m reading, more than likely it will only last a short time.

It lasted for about 5 loads and they were not big loads, unbalanced, and yes I had the right amount of soap. Whirlpool is saying that I washed something that was not machine washable. However, that is simply not true. I washed the bathroom rugs (which have been washed many times before) and they are saying the pump is clogged. I purchased a GW399LXUS Whirlpool Gas Range. This is the slide in kind. I paid 1658.00 dollars for this stove, because it was a gas convection oven. We purchased it on 7/21/09. Just yesterday, the keypad numbers stopped working. I cannot even set a temperature for the oven. So now, I can only use the burners. I called Whirlpool today. They told me that my stove does not have any recalls so there is nothing they can do about it. I spoke with Jessica in Michigan. I told her how dissatisfied I was that the stove is only 2 years old and the most important part (the buttons) stopped working and they only cover this for one year. She told me that I have to remember that man made things are made to stop working at some time. I told her they should work for longer than 2 years. I remember way back when my parents bought a stove or fridge and they lasted for 15 to 20 years before breaking or stopping to work.I am a long time Whirlpool customer and always had good luck with their products. But I really feel that they should fix this problem. I could understand if the stove was 8 or 10 years old and something broke after using it, but not after 2 years. I will definitely tell everyone I know to not buy Whirlpool or Maytag since they are one in the same. I probably will not buy Whirlpool again and will have to buy something from Japan since it will last longer. So much for buying American made junk!

Design is made so you will need a repair man to clean filter. The machine has to be taken apart to get to filter. About one hour of your time. If youre not handy its a paid repair About $250 to $300. Also the valves that control the water into the washer failed after about 5 years. An easy fix part costs about $60. All appliances are designed to fail after the purchased extended warranty expires. More features more repairs. So if you arent going to use a feature get a simpler machine. More money does not mean better machine. Or that it will last longer. We purchased KitchenAid Model YKESS907SS05 Electric Range from Appliance Canada April 2012, just before we took possession of our new home. We began using the range in July of that year and it worked well until September 11, 2014. At that time we decided to use one of the features of the range which is the self-clean feature. During which the control panel failed and our oven ceased to work.We contacted Appliance Canada and they suggested a technician come to assess. We called the suggested number and they send a technician that was not Whirlpool certified and we had to pay out of pocket for the visit $158. He did absolutely nothing during the visit. We then called Whirlpool Canada and they informed us that he was not Whirlpool certified and to call Appliance Canada, we immediately called Appliance Canada and made arrangements to have certified technician come to assess. Whirlpool Canada also indicated at that time that the board that failed was still under warranty and we should not have to pay. September 22nd the second technician came to assess the situation, used tape to cover the front blowing air duct so as not to have the hot air blow back onto the control panel. This was a temporary fix, they ordered a control panel in the interim that they would then use to replace. The control panel came in October the 22nd, was replaced and the new board was faulty, put old one back in and re-ordered another board. The part was on back-order. By mid November, after numerous calls, we called Whirlpool directly. They authorized that the technician to get the part from another supply source. On November the 26th, technician came back - tried new board could not get it to work, left it with us and ordered additional parts. At that time the technician who was taking the case had a family emergency and would not be able to come back out until the new year. Subsequently, Appliance Canada authorized a new company to resume our work with a new technician (Toronto Appliance). He came out December the 17th, with the board that was left behind, he was able to get the oven working. December the 22nd while in the middle of cooking a meal, the oven failed again. We called Appliance Canada and they had a Technician scheduled to come December the 24th from Toronto Appliance. However, on December the 23rd the oven resumed working. The Technician came on the 24th but because the oven was working again could do nothing. On December the 31st, while dinner was in for guests, the oven failed yet again. We called Appliance Canada, yet again, and they scheduled another visit with a new control panel and additional board. The technician arrived again today, January the 28th, and could not get the stove working. He was instructed to order an additional part and we are to wait another 2 weeks. In total, we have been waiting for 4 and a half months, we have also been told that we were not to have used the self-clean as this causes these types of problems. Why is it offered, in addition, Whirlpool has not supported our direct calls, nor authorized the replacement of a product, that for all intents and purposes, is faulty. We have had no success in the resolution of this issue nor support to reach a resolution from all parties involved. I would suggest not buying any product from those involved as their lack of support for their product is appalling.

I purchased a brand-new, $4600 36 gas range online. They finally installed all appliances by 10:30 pm last Friday, July 8, 2011. On Saturday, July 9, 2011, I woke at 2 am to weird smell (gas). I opened all the windows and went back to bed not sure since we never had gas before. Gas company came out that day and determined that the burners were bypassing gas. Jenn-Air said it was normal for some gas to come out and that they have sent the repair technician out three times to not find any leaks. The gas company red-tagged the stove saying it was hazardous. Jenn-Air has terrible customer service. I was on the phone Monday to Friday this week, every day talking with safety managers to supervisors with no results. I submitted a complaint several days ago about my 3-year old Whirlpool Duet washer not working and costing $550 to fix. I decided to just replace it so my husband unhooked it this morning. We were going to to try to sell it on Craigslist as is. I pulled out the laundry detergent compartment to clean it because I had filled it with detergent and fabric softener the other day. The smell that came from inside the washer where the detergent is dispensed was awful. I looked inside and it was completely filled with mold. I had periodically run the clean cycle with bleach but apparently this did nothing. I am writing this second review to warn people about this. I am going to just trash the washer now and I hope this has not affected our health in any way. For those of you who are thinking about purchasing this washer or one similar, I strongly urge you to stick with the plain old top loader. That is what I am going back to.

I purchased a Whirlpool electric range 18 months ago. Recently, the oven started overheating. The display reads Fault detected. Press start to clear. Pressing start did nothing and the oven door was locked as though it was in the self-clean cycle. We had to trip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off and allow the door to open. The food inside was ruined. After three episodes in one week, I scheduled a service call through the Whirlpool website. When the repairman came, he determined the electronic circuit board was faulty. His suggestion was that I buy a new stove since the repair would cost $425 (the part itself was $280). Not wanting to replace a stove that wasnt 2 years old, I went ahead with the repair. I called Whirlpool to lodge a complaint and although the customer service rep was polite, he basically told me that all electronic appliances fail sooner or later and the company will not stand behind this appliance because its out of its 12-month warranty and I didnt buy the extended warranty. He also told me the company doesnt have any record of this being a common problem or excessive complaints about these ranges. But I see many people on this site with the same problem. I wish I had read this site before I bought this stove. Since I cant afford to replace my appliances every year and a half, this will certainly be my last Whirlpool.

I bought this fridge in July of 2017. In December the Ice Maker quit, I called and they sent a tech out. The repair guy reset the ice maker and it made Ice. It functioned June and quit. They sent a new company that was a no-show, so I had to wait until July for the new company to come out. When they did, they replaced the ice maker. It worked for 10 days and quit. Same thing, replace the ice maker and this time quit about 30 days later. I called August 27th because the 4th Ice maker quit again. I was told by a supervisor that because they have used the same claim number it counts as one claim and does not fall under the Lemon Law. I did get the supervisor to admit that there are 2 claims in the system while under Warranty, but now it is on the extended warranty. Whirlpool is Garbage and I am here to tell everyone to STAY AWAY!

There seemed to be an issue with the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Pump. If a button comes off from your clothing or snap, etc., it gets trapped in the washer pump, causing it to crack and leak. Whirlpool on warranty only allows for one free change and anything after that costs $300.00. This is going to be the third time we are having problems with this and it is becoming, economically, a struggle for us. We have checked every button and snap to make sure they are fastened tightly, as well as any other type of items that may fall off in the wash and become trapped in the pump causing it to crack and leak. These pumps were poorly made and Whirlpool needs to be more aware of this problem rather than telling the customer that they are not aware of the situation.

Whirlpool Slide-In AquaClean Technology - My beautiful, modern oven is no longer. After 4 tries doing self-cleaning my oven was still dirty. I did have to wipe out the water (although I measured it) before I could take the scraper/sponge provided by Whirlpool to assist in the cleaning. Scraper bent - sponge disintegrated and I still have a dirty oven. Called service. My pleasant service tech informed me the water is only to reach 250 degrees! Really! My dinosaur of a Whirlpool cleaned fabulously! New technology has turned mine into an on your knees, scraping and broiling fool. Fool because I bought into the whole Aqualift Technology. We cannot use any kind of liner, etc. This slide-in may look great but the labor required to keep it that way is beyond this OCD person! So much for my efficient new kitchen. May the engineers who designed this technology be ashamed of this product. It is not even a self-steam cleaner!

In 2012 we purchased a Whirlpool Nu40T61-403 water heater from Lowes that I installed due to us not being able to afford a plumber. I have since become a plumber. This morning while attempting to shower I noticed that the water was lukewarm with the shower valve turned all the way to hot. I got dressed and inspected the heater. I began to diagnose the problem. Pilot was out and Gas control valve signal light was off. Lit the pilot and it appeared to be functioning normally. My first thought was the thermopile had failed but seeing the pilot stayed lit this proved to not be the case. I was extremely relieved at that point. Turned the temperature control knob to high and the burner kicked on. At first it appeared to be functioning fine. But within about 20 seconds I began to hear detonations within the sealed combustion chamber.

The knob on the Gas Cook top stove from Whirlpool (Part no: W10594481) is very poorly designed. It is very flimsy and breaks easily inside. Outside it still looks intact, but if you examine it on the reverse side, where it actually fits into the cooktops metal rod to turn the gas up or down, we can see it breaks there, as it is made of very cheap plastic. Although it is supposed to be a Stainless steel knob, it is actually all plastic where it matters most. I bought the new cook top from Whirlpool in 2014 and within a year have replaced all the knobs as they were breaking once every couple of months. I am still having this problem after 2 years now. I have contacted Whirlpool and have asked for a solution to this problem. They dont have any, other than offering a new version of the knob which costs $10 more and it is not easily available anywhere. I feel very cheated that I got a poor quality product and no help from them on fixing the problem.

The dishwasher racks in Whirlpool/Amana/Kitchen Aid/Maytag dishwashers do not last as long as the dishwasher does. The vinyl coating on the cheap metal tines wears off causing the metal underneath to corrode and rust. This rust will deposit on your flatware, stainless or otherwise. When the vinyl coating wears away at the base of the tines, the tines will break off, creating more opportunity for rust to deposit onto flatware. You can purchase new tips for the end of the tines, and more vinyl to paint onto the tines, but you cannot replace the tines themselves or paint the vinyl onto any rusty surfaces.Another option would be to buy a new rack. A new bottom rack costs almost half of what a new dishwasher costs and if you need both top and bottom racks, you will pay almost $400 for the pair. Whirlpool was not amenable to negotiating a better price on the racks, but they would sell me a new model at a price that was close to what it would cost to replace both racks! Now does that make sense? Does it make sense for appliance companies to cause consumers to have to throw out an entire appliance rather than fix it? No, and it is creating more waste and filling more landfills. My dishwasher has run great for 7 years and I refuse to buy into the rack racket! No more Whirlpool for me!

Plus always mold coming from inside tub and yes we use refresh weekly and wash it out on refresh setting. I’m so tired of our towels smelling sour but can’t afford to buy new washer and dryer living on fixed income. If I could these would be in the recycling yard now. I bought a new home from DR Horton with Whirlpool appliances. All of the kitchen appliances were Whirlpool which came with a 1 year warranty. After closing on the house and getting in, started the dishwasher for the first time, it started leaking water instantly from the bottom of the unit and spilled all over the floor. Tried to contact the builder/inspector who asked us to contact Whirlpool. Called Whirlpool and I was kept on hold for over an hour before someone answered. The rep was so adamant talking all unrelated things and said that she cannot do anything for another 15 days. After escalating to the supervisor, it was the same response. The service at customer care is so bad with no fix in sight. I am not sure what they are going to do with the appliance and not sure whether they come and fix it or keep me waiting. Very unethical, the way they talk to the customers.

We bought 2 Whirlpool refrigerators for our new home 5 years ago. The first ice maker died 2 years ago at 3 years old. The second has now died this month. We called the repairman in who told us that Whirlpool knew there was a problem with their ice makers, but because they did not cause fires, they were not recalled. We paid $480 later for items that should last at least 10 years, not 3-5 years. We will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance and neither will any our family. A company with this level of ethical behavior that knows they have a faulty piece of equipment and just chooses to do nothing does not warrant my business.

The freezer is not freezing food properly the last couple of days, all food is unfrozen in the freezer. Have lowered the temp settings has not helped, the fridge section is temperately fine. There is a noise coming from the fridge that sounds like a noisy fan or motor. Phoned Whirlpool Canada, they said they could send someone out. They will charge $100 for call out and over $20/15 min after. I asked whod theyd be calling to service. Said that Id try unplugging the fridge for a couple of days and seeing if that helps, and that Ill call the refrigeration company myself if I need them. We purchased this washer on 2008-04-27. It ran okay until a few months ago when it began making strange intermittent noises. This is now happening more and more often. I reviewed a lot of websites and see that this is a common occurrence for Whirlpool Cabrio washers, and Whirlpool will not stand behind it and make it right. Im going to write them a letter mirroring what Im saying here, and remind them that other appliances in my house are coming due for replacements or upgrades. Whirlpool and its affiliates will not be part of those upgrades going forward. I have no patience or tolerance for expensive **, which is what they put out here. I will have to purchase a replacement washer since this seems to have two major areas of failure, both extremely expensive to repair. I might check out Roper and see what they have--its apparently very well rated by the folks that work on these things.

We bought our stainless and black Whirlpool stove last month. We love that its black topped, and doesnt show dirt. We love how the oven door seals, and the fast heat. What we do NOT love, is how easily the knobs turn. You barely brush against them, and gas leaking into the kitchen. I called for service. Our guy said yes, they turn easier than most of the stoves he has worked on. He called tech support from my kitchen, and I overheard the guy at the other end. His response was dismissive. I have had gas ovens for 20 years. They have without exception, had a spring type feeling to the knob. This stove has none. I am writing this so that if others are experiencing the same thing, they will see it is not their imagination. Something is wrong with the design of the knobs or some part is missing.

I have owned Craftmaster 30-gallon hot water heater and the only things reliable about it is trouble and aggravation. I purchased this in 2004. I have had to replace the controls, valves, wires, etc. three times in 10 years. And Im now looking at doing it a fourth time. The design of these parts are utter crap! Cheap plastic! After replacing these parts, this hot water heater works great for a few years, then invariably starts acting up. The pilot light goes out when the heater is supposed to kick on instead. Getting the pilot light lit again, is an exercise in futility! The red reset button once released, immediately extinguishes the ignition flame. Supposedly, after holding it down for 1-2 minutes allowing gas to build up, it should light the coils... and if it doesnt, youre supposed to wait 10 minutes to try relighting again. You can repeat this process for 12 hours, and if you finally do get this temperamental piece of junk to light, youre lucky. Customer Service has been useless in assistance. All they want to do is send you e-mail, and get you off the phone. Not to mention, Ive been told by many a rep that the hot water heater extinguishes itself, if water is overheated, and that it must be my fault for setting the temp too hot. Baloney... Ive been told that the underside vent must be cleaned every few months, so that air flow is accurate. Makes no difference one way or the other. And recently, Ive been told by a rep, that my 40-yr-old house likely doesnt vent exhaust out through the roof properly. This product is inferior and unpredictable. Its great when it works, and the pilot light stays lit. God forbid it ever goes out though! It is next to impossible to relight. I have spent more money on service technicians attempting to repair/replace parts, than it would have cost to simply by a new hot water heater. I miss the old days, when it was easy to light a hot water heater: Strike a match, turn the gas on, and instant hot water. No muss, no fuss. Having owned many properties w/ hot water heaters over the years, I have never encountered such repeat problems, as with this product. Its simply not reliable, and not worth the $$$. Never again, will I buy a Craftmaster Product. And I had no clue that there was a Class Action Suit filed, and a settlement involved in these faulty units. Whirlpool/Craftmaster should have notified everyone, who purchased one of their units. Now Im stuck w/ a constantly broken unit, and zero recourse. I will never buy anything Whirlpool/Craftmaster again, as a result.
