I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from Lowes 3 short years ago. Within the first year, it needed a new main board. Now just 2 years later, it needs another main board. It has never worked correctly. I have purchased another washer from another manufacturer and will never buy a Whirlpool product again and neither will anyone I talk with about this. Dont buy Whirlpool products!!

Whirlpool Cabrio - 6 Big Problems: I dont write bad reviews on anything but in this case, I feel I have to warn potential buyers. Ive owned this washer for more than 4 years. Here are the problems: 1) This washer TEARS HOLES in my towels; 2) It SHREDS some clothes; 3) Loads are UNBALANCED every time I use it, regardless of load type or size; 4) Very LOUD when running. My neighbors can hear it and they are 150 feet behind us. It sounds like someone is pounding on the walls of my house. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! I havent seen it, but I believe it might actually be jumping off the floor; 5) Its NOT High Capacity as advertised. Sure, the drum is big, but you cant put much more than a tiny load in it. If you try a larger load, the clothes dont get cleaned; and 6) Whirlpool wont do a darn thing about it. They dont care about the buyer or their own reputation. Our family grew and I thought we needed a larger washer. I foolishly replaced a ten-year old, $300 standard top-loading GE washer that never had a problem, with this expensive **. The GE had a drum that was about 1/2 the size and it washed MORE clothes! The GE never damaged any clothes and it wasnt ridiculously loud like this one. I regret ever buying this expensive washer and I will never again buy a Whirlpool product.

We purchased a Whirlpool dryer about two years ago. Unfortunately I havent had the time to compose a letter stating my dis-satisfaction until now. After much research and haggling we decided on the Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum model, a very efficient (we thought), and even attractive model. It has proven to cost us much more than we bargained for, as EVERY time I do a dark wash, which is usually two to three times a week I must re-wash the items once or twice after! All of the items come out of the wash with white spots all over. Thinking it is soap, I run the wash again on a rinse cycle: nothing changes. Then I redo the wash - this time not using soap. The result is a bit better, but I still have to take a wet washcloth and rub the areas out.I did voice a complaint one time to which I received a letter stating that I should read my manual, specifically the troubleshooting guide. I dont have time for this. Again, we purchased this machine for its cost and efficiency, yet its ending up costing much more than it should as for every load I do (of dark clothes), I have to do one or two additional. (No telling what is on the light or white clothes that I cannot see because of their color!) This machine has been a total waste of time and money; I will never purchase another Whirlpool machine as I am extremely dissatisfied with this product.

We contacted Whirlpool different times. I hate this piece of junk refrigerator. But Whirlpool never cared. My husband and I both did 20 years in the Navy active duty and reserves. 20 years each. Do you think we could have gotten some response other than a worthless sorry. To the Whirlpool CEO when you ever get some kind of compassion please us a real refrigerator that works and has some real room in it. I hate this thing and I hate not having an ice maker that works. A french doors refrigerator that really works would be good. Heres our address **. Please leave it on our front porch. Will be holding our breath. Thanks for your support.

We purchased a gas range (Whirlpool AccuBake model # mfgxfg361lvt1 serial ry1810956) a few years ago and have been very unhappy with the gray grids that it came with. We wrote to you about how we should clean them and you recommended heavy-duty degreaser, pin31552a and gas grate & grill cleaner, pin3167a, which we purchased. Neither worked, even with heavy elbow grease. We are very upset. We have purchased Whirlpool products all of our life and would like an answer or some type of explanation. If possible, can we get the grids in black? We try our best to keep these things clean and this is a very bad patten.

I bought a whirlpool microwave on August 8th. The microwave was missing parts. I called whirlpool. They said they were sending me the parts, mind you this was not a floor model. So 2 weeks later pass I received no bracket No screws. I called whirlpool oh yes we got the address wrong. Resent it, just one screw no bracket and I needed 2 screws. I called again oh yes we did get the order for the bracket too but you have to pay $7. I said ok no problem. Can you do fast shipping? They said sure. I called Monday August 25th. They said I should receive it by Wednesday August 27th. I had to pay extra for the shipping. Here I am September 2nd w/ no bracket. Called again. They said it wasnt next day shipping, it was 2 day shipping and its at the post office. But the shipping number they gave me was for the one screw. I believe I should get my money back. I spoke to a supervisor, took her number down. Still waiting for a call because the mailman came and I didnt receive anything yet again.

I am very disappointed in my Cabrio washer. I have had it for two year and now I have to spend $ 250.00 on a machine that sounds like Im in a machine factory. It is so loud in the spin cycle that you cant hear a TV or radio. Also the lit of the washer broke in the start of the second year. I had my previous washer for 15 years before requiring a service call. I have to agree with all the reviews that this washer should be recalled. Maybe if we all call the media in on this problem Whirlpool will be forced to pay for a recall or repairs. Another case of big business ripping off the consumer.

I was going to write a negative review after our Whirlpool stove oven stopped working. We only had it for three years. Technician’s visit today was $70 for the information that we would be better off buying a new one because the motherboard is gone. However, after reading all the horror stories which are already here, I realize that we are relatively lucky - at least, our stove worked for 3 years... Still very disappointed and unhappy. I purchased this machine from Sears on 04/23/2016 and have had nothing but problems and issues with it. It is loud and makes different sounds every time I use it. It has overfilled and underfilled with water a few times, the machine shuts down while washing and I have had to restart the machine. Half the time the clothes come out covered in soap and I have to put them through another rinse cycle. My bedding always has to either go through a second rinse cycle due to being covered in soap or I have to rewash it because it is all packaged together in the fitted sheet and never got washed. During the spin cycle it sounds like it is getting ready launch into outer space and it vibrates excessively. On numerous occasions I have had to untie my clothes as they are tied in knots. There have been times that I had to put the clothes through another spin cycle because the clothes contained too much water. The final straw was last week (03/27/2019). I washed my sheets and they came out bundled up in the fitted sheet full of soap stains and I had to rewash them. When the sheets were done I put the comforter in the wash and started to clean the house. When I went into the laundry room the washer was not running but the wash light was on so I opened the lid and felt the comforter and found it to be dry. I closed the lid and pushed the start button. After a few seconds the washer shifted to rinse without even washing the comforter. When the washer stopped running and the ready light came on I removed the comforter, unplugged the machine, shut off the water, disconnected the water hoses, placed the machine on a dolly and took it to my scrap pile. I could not find any Whirlpool washers with any good reviews so I purchased a Speed Queen with a 5 year parts and labor warranty.

My whirlpool Cabrio washer top load had the rust problems, bearing problems, support arms replaced along with the complete drive assembly motor bearings and all the parts. My bearings have failed 3 times since 2009. This machine is junk. Customer service at Whirlpool is a joke. They treat you as if you have had to do something wrong. Finally I spoke with a salesman who said speak with the warranty company. I have the extended warranty which I advise everyone who purchases an appliance to get one. So I spoke with them and they sent me a check for a new machine. I must say our warranty company has been very helpful. So THIS IS MY WARNING TO ALL. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM WHIRLPOOL. IF YOU DO YOU DESERVE WHAT YOU GET, SORRY TO SAY... Have a great day.

Bought this microwave combo oven from Lowes. Went to change the charcoal filters, as specified by the owners manual, and the top cover and the side cover fell apart when I removed the filter cover screws. After two appointments the service tech came out for about 5 minutes to tell me that only mechanical failure is covered by the extended warranty which I also purchased from Lowes. The problem with Whirlpool is that they make the top cover, and some other parts, with cheap thin plastic which crumbles when exposed to heat. The repair tech said, Dont worry. Ill see what I can do. And then he left. Actually the warranty booklet said wear and tear is covered in addition to mechanical failure. Its inexplicable to me why any manufacturer would use cheap plastic for an over the range product. And I intend to fight this until I get this appliance repaired under warranty.

We bought a Whirlpool front door open washer machine from Best Buy on Oct. 2, 2011. We didnt start to use until our basement got finished. In November when the basement was ready, we found out that the machine didnt work at all. We called A&E factory service as suggested by Best Buy. They sent technicians 3 times in 2 months to check the machine. Now, it is 3 months later since we purchased the machine, the machine is still not working. We contacted Whirlpool, and they would not exchange to another machine, instead, they told us they will send another technician to check it once again. This machine costs us $800 before tax, but until now, it is still not working. Can you tell us what to do? We called Best Buy and they said this machine is under factorys warranty. So we called A& E service, who said that if Whirlpool called them, they will tell them it cannot be fixed. However, they need Whirlpool to call them because they work for Whirlpool. Is 3 month waiting not enough for a brand new machine to get fixed? And the worst thing is we still owe money to Best Buy creditor. Please help us to get rid of this! Thanks!

My house was built 20 years ago, with all Whirlpool appliances; built-in microwave over the electric oven, gas cooktop, and under counter dishwasher. The oven just gave out. Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

The French door fridge with the freezer drawers on the bottom are very flexible and easy to access. It goes downhill from there. The ice maker takes 4 days to fill up the bin with no use. The unit does not defrost and freezes up every six weeks requiring a manual defrost. Three mods have been made under the service contract and performance has not improved. PC boards have been replaced and at least one thermistor. My understanding is this is a single compressor unit with piping, relays and valves to port refrigerant to two different evaporators as needed. Unfortunately it simply does not properly balance/defrost and the freezer door freezes up. It certainly is not compatible with a high humidity environment. We will never buy another cooling design like this, but sure like the French Door layout. Glad we have a service contract.

Purchased a new range from Lowes in November. It was delivered in January. Was told upon purchase that there was a one year warranty on the item. After using the item approximately three times, a piece of aluminum foil fell to bottom. It stuck to the bottom and removed some of the porcelain. Bacon grease had spilled into the middle of the oven which caused the oven to warp and also discolor the porcelain. They sent a tech out, who called Whirlpool. Whirlpool told them that it was cosmetic damage and only had a 30-day warranty! They also said I had to contact customer service again, which I did. Customer service said that the tech didnt do what he was told to do and that they would send someone out again. The same tech came out, called Whirlpool again, and was told there is nothing that can be done. I asked to speak to a supervisor because I was unsatisfied with this response. A two-month old oven shouldnt look like it is five years old. I never spoke to a supervisor. The rep just kept telling me that there was a 30-day warranty and that it was stated in my manual. After insisting that I speak with a supervisor, she placed me on hold. After a few minutes came back stating that she is sending my request to another department and that they will call me back in three to four days with their decision. I would not purchase another Whirlpool appliance even if they decide to replace this one, which I sincerely doubt that they will. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

They advise him to check this and check that. Everything seems to be in order. They say they will send out a qualified service person to diagnose a potential problem, a charge of $200.00. Maintenance man and landlord say, No thanks. Maintenance man goes to Lowes to buy a different brand model. Guess what? Envirotemp Hot Water Heaters have the same control device as the failing Whirlpool. He reboxed it and took it back and said, No thanks. Ill try to upload the images of the water heaters and controller you should stay away from purchasing. I asked for a supervisor and was told she would give me a discount on parts, but I had to find out just what part it would be before she would tell me what percentage of a discount she could give me and the service call was my responsibility. Due to this treatment, I will not buy another Whirlpool nor will I recommend it to any of my friends. I will also post on Facebook my experience with Whirlpool.

Having multiple apartments I have some experience with water heaters, with that being said, old school water heaters would last 30 years with basically no maintenance. Since those old, manual no BS flashing light codes were replaced with Whirlpool brand, I see constant problems. Honeywell valve/motherboards was the worst thing that could have been put on any equipment. More or less they all failed within few months past warranty expiration date. Replacement part is cost almost half of what brand new product costs. When called customer service, they are aware of said problem but will not help, or recall above product. There are plenty of videos and forums of people complaining about the same issue. Being poorly treated by customer service, I know that I will no longer be spending my money on whirlpool brand. 3 years off of the water heater is a joke.

Both washer and dryer have rust on the tops and the writing is fading.

We purchased the Whirlpool model# BFG1J4040T3NOV 40 gallon natural gas hot water tank in the spring of 2010. The pilot light went out this weekend, 2011. And it will re-light but does not stay lit. This was bought at Lowes, rated as a 9-year warranty on the tank and parts. This is premature failure of a product that is listed as 9 years. Due to all the other similar complaints of this Whirlpool hot water tank, I would like my money back plus installation. I do not want the Whirlpool replacement as obviously it does not work. I will use a different brand and vet it much better in the future. We almost purchased at Home Depot but decided it would be a better bet to go with the Whirlpool reputation and name and Lowes than with the only Home Depot option, which is the self branded water heaters. It was a big mistake!

I love this stove! It is nearly perfect. I wish it was easier to clean the glasstop, but I imagine that comes with any glasstop stove. The stove is easy to use, and I love the cooktime option. My only complaint is that the timer is very quiet, and when it is a timer while something is cooking, it only beeps once. If its a timer when nothing is cooking then it will go off repeatedly until you turn off the timer.

Whirlpool electric range oven wont turn off. Used the oven 2 or so times per year.... Very unsafe, expecting internal breaker that would shut the thing down. Whirlpool Range/Oven PT3196685 happened on 6-10-2014, was baking cookies with timer on for 9 min. First batch turn out good, 2nd batch on fire before even get to 6 min, the burner is brightly hot and cant shut off from the panel... Saw ERR then COOL indicator... Tried but no respond from panel. The burner element wont turn off and temp keep rising white hot... The only way to shutoff is the house circuit breaker. But soon you turn on the breaker, the oven would turn on by itself and you cant switch it off. Where is the safety breaker on these range/oven when something goes beyond 500 degree..... UNSAFE PRODUCT. Ordered a new Whirlpool Gold 700 series but canceled after discovered others experienced similar situation with the new product. Could have burn down the house and worst when lives involved. WONDER IF ANYTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THESE SAFETY ISSUE.

The main control panel on my Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine broke twice in the second year of ownership. I bought this in 2006. The part was replaced in March 2007 and then again in October 2007. Now, it is broken again and Whirlpool says too bad, they will not replace it again and will cost us $275 to fix it. People have posted about this problem all over the internet. How can they not help their customers and recall this washer part?

Agreeing with many. How disturbing to buy a Cabrio Whirlpool washing machine about 5 years ago. I might as well go down to the river and wash my clothes. The bearings went out which means I have to be the spin cycle. I am hanging out my clothes on the line - very wet - until my husband buys the part and fixes it himself. I had my maytag for 25 years. An awesome, dependable machine that we laid to rest because of rust. We should have gotten another drum instead of buying this machine. Where are the engineers that are making dependable appliances to last a LONG time? We have not gotten smarter. Or we only care about the all mighty dollar. Make something to last a short time so that you have to buy again. We will do some extensive research the next time we buy a washing machine. Do not buy this machine!

My wife and I spent about $2500 on a new Whirlpool Dutch Door fridge five years ago. 18 months later the evaporator went out and the warranty was only good for one year! We bought an extended warranty, got it fixed and the other evaporator went out less than a year later after that! Next, the circuit board control on the crisper went out. Then, the water filter would not disengage and a repairman had to take the fridge apart just to put in a new filter! And now, the ice-maker has gone out and the fan is icing up like another evaporator is going... Insane! Our warranty is up next year. Once the warranty ends we will start shopping for another unit - and it wont be a Whirlpool - thats for sure. I have never owned anything this unreliable in my entire life! Also, I would say most of the time we have owned this piece of you-know-what it has made a loud disturbing fan noise... What a waste of good money! Run! Run far, far away!!!

We purchased a Cabrio washer in August 2013, in early August 2014 we noticed that it was not getting all of the detergent out of the clothes (noticed it on the dark clothes after drying). We use less than the recommended amount of HE detergent and dilute it in the dispenser, also always use the extra rinse. We just had a Sears service man out at a $100 cost only to find out that he gets these calls all of the time and the machine is operating at the factory settings. After reporting the problem to Whirlpool all I got was we are sorry and a link to how to operate the washer. In the demonstration video it clearly shows that the water level never covers the clothes. I know Im old school but in my opinion the water should cover the clothes so it can properly wet and agitate the items in the washer. To say I am less than satisfied is a gross understatement. Im out the cost of the washer plus an additional $100 and after a year of ownership and contacting Whirlpool less than a week after the factory warranty ran out all I get is an Im sorry you do not know how to operate a washer.

I just bought a new dishwasher because my 5-year-old one went out, model number DU1145XTPBA. After pulling the old one out, I took the motor out and lo and behold, what did I find but bad bearings. The motor was fine, just the bearings were rusted out and were jamming the motor so that it wouldnt move. The price of a new motor, $149.00. Well thats a bit much for something that only lasts 5 years. I went on eBay and found them for $70 to $170.00. So if you have a problem where your dish wont wash at all but fills up with water, it may be nothing more than cheap bearings in the motor. If I, myself, were this companys CEO i would really consider changing companies that they have making these motors or at least the bearings. Just wanted you to know that this is the only problem I have had with this one and Im going to replace the motor now that I know what it is. Thank you Whirlpool for a day spending repairing and replacing one of your dishwashers. I learned a lot.

Sometimes the white cloths come out looking worse than they did before they were put in the washer. We called the people at Whirlpool and they said there is nothing they can do as long as all the functions on the washer work the way they’re suppose to. We purchased our appliances including a refrigerator, stove, microwave and a dishwasher from Home Depot and chose Whirlpool because we believed in their quality. We purchased an ice maker for the refrigerator and it did not get delivered so we had to contact the store to get this resolved. Once this was resolved we installed the ice maker and began to use the products. We noticed a leak from the dish washer and checked the connections only to find out the leak was coming from inside the door. We contacted whirlpool to let them know. We were then contacted by whirlpool that they could not find a service center in our area and we needed to find one and they would reimburse us 150.00 for the service center that we find to come look at it and then we need to let whirlpool know what parts were needed and they would send them to us then we could have the service center come back and install the parts. After receiving this information I contacted whirlpool to let them know that this was unacceptable. First of all this is time and money out of my pocket and no service center is going to make two separate service calls for 150.00 dollars. So whirlpool tells me they have done all they can do in which I informed them that they have not done all they can do and they we just dumping this on me to take care of. So after arguing my point, the whirlpool employee decided to call a service center and make an appointment for Jan 09, 2020 which I agreed with and hopefully the problem will be solved. This should have been done from the very beginning instead of wasting my time only to have the whirlpool employees do their job. A customer should not have to deal with this. In the future I will using a different company for my products, not because of the product but because of the service. I have made a copy of this and will be posting my review.

Absolute junk. Bought an entire matching set 2 years ago. Fridge, microwave, dishwasher and oven. Oven is the most user unfriendly thing I have ever bought. That’s my fault. Microwave failed. 300 to replace. Ice maker in side by side fridge failed, another 300 dollar fix. I used to have a field mouse or two get into the house every year. Don’t have that problem anymore because the fridge is so loud it scares them off. Talking to Customer service was the most frustrating thing of all. They think if they say your name in a nice soft tone long enough it will make everything ok. Mother and father raved about Whirlpool products. How times have changed. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these products. Also, look up the other brand names made in the same factory and steer clear of those as well. I used to think appliances were all the same. How wrong I was. Do your research. It will save you a bundle in the long run.

I purchased it in 2011 for $1100 Canadian. Smooth glass top and true convection. The controls were easy to use, and understand. What bothered me was that it stopped working just after the warranty ran out. I did my research, and found that the newer ranges that have the controls on top at the back have issues with the motherboard overheating, and causing this problem. I did speak to Whirlpool customer service, and managed to convince them to supply the replacement part at no cost. I paid my local dealer to install it. This repair lasted for just over 1 year. Same problem again. This time I could not convince Whirlpool to supply the part. FYI The part in question is the controller. Essentially a motherboard. All the controls are operated through this small computer. It is the only replacement part that costs over $100. Last I checked it was around $450 Canadian. The reason for the fault is overheating. According to the tech that fixed it the first time, it is the most common problem with this style of range. I find this concerning considering the only thing a range does is create heat!Keep in mind that you are virtually held over a barrel. There are only two companies that market their products under multiple names adding up to over 80% of the appliances on the market. They battle for that market by offering more bells and whistles, and less quality. The Range I replaced four years ago was 20 years old. I just replaced my Whirlpool 3 months ago. I went outside of the 80%, and bought a Samsung. Im rolling the dice, and went with induction top. My theory is it will produce less heat because it just heats the pot, not the stove top.Low quality drives me nuts. I want fewer bells and whistles, and more long lasting reliability. I should be able to go my lifetime and only buy two or three ranges. We really like the induction top. It works fast, and doesnt produce too much excess heat. Dual zone oven is a good idea. We werent looking for it, but there was a deal on. The dual zone induction range was only $50 more than the regular one beside it. Now my wife uses it all the time. She will have cookies in one zone, and a casserole for supper in the other. True convection is the other must have. It does a great job cooking everything evenly.

This machine was my dream machine for about two years. Then the noise started during the spin cycle. It gradually got louder and louder, until it got so loud that it sounded like a jet engine taking off. You could not be near the wash room and hear each other talk. Then it began to aggravate me with the UL flashing. I know how to load a washing machine. It was just a defect. Then it started making a grinding sound to add to the roaring spin noise. We were told that it would take over $500.00 to fix, so we just sat back and waited for it to die. Well, the other day it began to leak some water out of the bottom of the machine. Now today we are paying our last respects to a piece of junk that Whirlpool calls a washing machine! It is less than 5 years old. This was a $900.00 washer. There should be a recall. We should ban together and demand a recall! Now I will be forced to go buy a new washer. I can tell you which name brand I will not buy, Whirlpool!

After replacing our competent GE dishwasher with a Samsung dishwasher and having to replace it immediately due to the terrible job it did, we bought a Whirlpool Gold Series (stainless tub) for just under $400. I realize this is the bottom of the stainless tub price point, but we have been so disappointed! The silverware container sites outside the regular tub, and rarely cleans even easy substances to remove, if there are more than a few items in each container. This is the information I tried to send to Whirlpool only to get a message that it was undeliverable: I purchased a set of whirlpool cabrio washer and dryer on 10-23-2013 (model numbers WTW8540BW, and WED8500BW). On 01-25-15 the washing machine failed to power up just over 2 months out of the standard warranty. This wasnt the low end cheap models. With cash discounts we paid over $1600.00 for the set. After a $70.00 dollar charge to the repairman we are told that the unit has a bad electric control board (part # W10761026). And unfortunately the part is on back order until March 1st, 2015 as of right now. So if and when the repairman gets the part and installs it, I get to pay him an additional $260.00. My family has always been such a dedicated Whirlpool appliance purchaser but this is wrong.Oh I almost forget, now I have to rent a washing machine at a cost of $55.00 per month until mine is repaired. I believed I was purchasing Whirlpool quality. The type of quality that doesnt need an extended warranty because Whirlpool is made to last correct? I purchased a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom on 8/17/12. Within 4 days, the ice maker stopped working. It took two days for the repairman to come out and fix it. So all is well with that. Less than 2 weeks later, the refrigerator isnt cooling. Several days later, the repairman came and determined it was the evaporator fan motor and clutch. The parts were back-ordered for 10 days. Parts came in 2 more days before he can come out and install them. He realized they sent the wrong parts. Another week went by, then he came and replaced the fan motor, which is now making an ear-piercing buzzing sound. He came back a week later and said it needed a gasket, which is back-ordered. In the meantime, he put some stick on insulation around the unit. Not much help. Another week went by, and the gasket showed up. It is still making a high-pitched whining sound. He said it was the compressor. Whatever! I hate the refrigerator. The sound is one that just grates on your nerves and you can hear it in all the rooms surrounding the kitchen! A repairman has to deem it unrepairable before they will even consider replacing it. They consider it fixed. What about my bleeding ears! I just want it gone! I am so disappointed. We called Whirlpool and were told since it is past 12 months, they would do nothing but give us the name of a repairman in the area. We called our own repairman and $120 later, the sensor that had malfunctioned was replaced. Quite costly on a $450 dishwasher. Now, after 15 months, the handle on the lower broiler portion of my Range has come off and the screws will not hold because the plastic around them deteriorated. Because the failure happened less than a year after purchase, Whirlpool replaced the part and paid for labor. The hot water heater failed again three weeks ago, and we contacted Whirlpool. We were once again provided with another thermostat, and were charged $135.00 by a plumber to install it (even though the customer service rep stated that there were known issues with this tank model). The tank is still not working properly. We (with our tenants) have tried troubleshooting according to their instructions, to no avail. It has been three weeks now, and no resolution. The heater has a six-year warranty. Not sure what this means if the product is defective to begin with. We pay to attempt to repair it?We will not be spending any more money on labor to install parts that may or may not work and have demanded that Whirlpool replace the heater. Whirlpool has refused to pay for any labor costs and told us that we must take the heater back to Lowes. This is so annoying. Bad thing is I like the look of the oven but clearly this is a shotty product. I will never buy a Whirlpool again.

New water making loud pinging noises when burner shut off. Whirlpool referred plumber. Plumber stated this is normal. After few months heater would make loud humming noise when burner turned on. Called Whirlpool again. Said I had to pay for plumber to troubleshoot and if part needed I had to pay labor to replace part. Would never recommend this product to anybody.

I am a senior who has not used the Whirlpool Range installed by the builder in 2007 very much. First of all, I did not like the way the covered jets hid the lighted jets when they were turned on low. Then about 8 months ago, I smelled gas and no one had used the range. I checked the knobs and one was turned slightly without any gas lit. I know that for years the companies were required to have push-in knob before you could turn them for safety reasons (especially children). These knobs barely push in before turning so that they can easily be accidentally brushed against and leak gas, which is exactly what happened to me again today. My daughter was visiting. Neither of us had used the range and when she left, I sat in my living room and smelled gas. I immediately checked the range and the small front jet was turned slightly on. The odor was so strong that I know it had to have been on for some time. Its been an hour and Im still airing out the house. I have used gas ranges for over fifty years and never had a problem such as this. Im thankful that I do not have issues with my sense of smell. Otherwise, I would not be sitting here writing this.

Wish I had done more homework before I purchased a Cabrio washer and dryer.
Wish I had done more homework before I purchased a Cabrio washer and dryer. The washer uses so little water that I sometimes find dry spots on clothing when I take it out. How can it possibly be clean if it doesnt even get entirely wet? I now pre-rinse all of my underwear before putting it in the machine. I know the instructions say not to put in wet clothing, but if it breaks sooner, Ill get to replace it sooner with a more traditional model. I always use the lowest spin speed - anything else makes my clothes hopelessly wrinkled. I like the large tub for washing blankets and comforters. Thats about the only advantage I can think of. The dryer sensor quite often goes off after about 2 minutes if I use any setting other than the delicate or timed features. Ive had the machines for 2 years and had the dryer repaired once under the extended warranty I purchased. Very disappointing purchase.

You cannot control anything on this machine. You cannot pre-fill to dilute
You cannot control anything on this machine. You cannot pre-fill to dilute detergent- you cannot choose temp because what you choose is changed by the machine (manual). You cannot choose your own combinations of temp, water volume, and timing. Once the ** thing starts you cant change anything, like the setting you wish to use. Do NOT BELIEVE THIS IS ENERGY EFFICIENT. There is a REASON that this machine has a 2nd rinse. It is because so little water is used that it does not allow soap, lint or dirt to have anywhere to go but back into your clothes. YOU have to trick it out to get enough water to actually get some loads truly wet. EVER! You stand there like an idiot opening and closing the lid just to get enough water to dilute the detergent. You cant pre fill and then add your detergent because, it needs to sense your clothes load. Wont fill with the lid open. You cant rinse the detergent cup out. You only get to do what Whirlpool already knows about your needs. Oh & lets not forget the spin cycle. When you open the lid, large items like sheets will look like a pancake made from one of the sheets. However underneath will be a tangle of the rest of your wash worthy of a Gordian knot. You can yank your shoulders out trying to dislodge the clothes. Spin yes, I guess it did, I just didnt need permanent press wrinkles. And thats if you CAN actually open the lid. For some idiopathic reason the lid may be on lock. Good luck with that. Most often, youll find no reason that you can discern like an unbalanced load or as the booklet suggests, you havent figured out how to load a machine. I hate the design of this so much that I called the company and they said that they would send a repair man out to see if its working. Whats he going to do? Run a couple of washes and say hey thats how they design these things? They will not replace it. They do not stand behind their products. You are stuck with bad design period.Describe Yourself: Frequent User. Service/Delivery: It came with a big dent in the dryer we bought with it. Installer dudes crossed the hot with the cold. Whirlpool will not stand behind the products they make & they make lots of the brand names. So they figure they can just do exactly what they want and youre screwed because even under warranty, theyll only fix the mess of engineering they designed in the first place. Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this Whirlpool washer (WTW5000DW0) to save energy and water consumption. It has been awful from day 1. Clothes come out with detergent (white marks) all over them. Clothes aren’t spun out enough to dry them. It takes FOREVER for a load to finish, I can’t imagine that this is saving me anything on electric. Waste of money. Do not buy this!

I saw on the Today Show that my Whirlpool Duet washer, purchased in 2008 was a mold-producing nightmare. We are now part of a class action lawsuit that seeks redress. When I called Whirlpool Customer Service, I was fed the company line that the problem is that we dont clean the machine regularly. The instructions call for monthly maintenance, but the rep said we need to wipe it dry after each use. This is an original defect in the machine that Whirlpool refuses to own up to. We had been Whirlpool devotees for years but will never purchase another Whirlpool product.

Less than 1 year ago, I bought a washer and dryer. From the beginning, we have had a water problem and the water only comes cold... no warm water in the normal cycle. They came 6 times to service the machine and they cannot fix it. They said there is nothing is wrong with the machine but it does not wash with warm water in the normal wash cycle. I advise not to buy this product anymore. It is under a warranty so they should fix it or replace it. I am sick and tired of talking to them. They said if we send the service guy then I have to pay for it which is not acceptable because it is under a warranty. If anyone is thinking about buying this product, I advise not to get it and waste money on it.

I have the same problems that all the consumers are complaining about. I have a Whirlpool refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. I have it for 2 years to date, and it doesnt keep my food cold. I loved the roomy space it had; thats what sold me the refrigerator. If I would know what I know now, I wouldnt have bought it. I will never blame the business that I bought it from; I will blame Whirlpool. Hearing all what the consumers did to try to fix the problem, it sounds like a waste of time and money. Im sorry to hear what you went through, but also I want to thank you for your complaints so I dont have to deal with it. Whirlpool sounds like a piece of junk. I’m going back to a GE.

My landlord replaced our old Whirpool topload washer with a Whirlpool HE topload machine last year. Looks sleek, lots of settings BUT IT DOES NOT GET CLOTHES CLEAN - not on any setting, not if loaded as recommended or under-loaded, not if I use more or less detergent, and not if I follow all the tips for getting rid of residue. This machine so under-performs I have to spot clean my clothes AFTER I was them. And were not talking deep dirt or grime here, or things that need special treatment, Just ordinary dirt dirt, to which the machine adds gray streaks of dirty water residue. Thank God I didnt buy this turkey for myself -- I will NEVER buy one of these machines. I did two small rugs today and they came out dingier than they went in. These machines should be recalled. If I could give it less than one star, I would.

I bought a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator four years ago, June 2012. Today, 9/20/16, I found out that the ice maker has to be replaced to the tune of $350! The repair person told me that Whirlpool has the worst track record, and of his service calls, he has at least three to five Whirlpool refrigerators per week! This is a terrible lack of quality. When youre spending over $2,000 for a refrigerator, you expect it to work for more than four years. Not only that, but I have e-mailed Whirlpool Customer Service twice and have been ignored completely. This is my last Whirlpool product, and I urge you to stay away from them. Samsung has a much better track record.

Our home came with an Asko dishwasher, theoretically a premium device though the experience was not the best. Anyways, had to replace it after a few years and decided to buy a Whirlpool under the assumption that if an Asko kind of sucks, being so expensive, it was not worth the money to spend big bucks on an expensive dishwasher. I could not have been more wrong! Bought a middle of the pack Whirlpool, I think we spend around $500. Complete junk. I had to use our Sears home warranty like 6 times. They replaced two times the computer board, all the sensors another couple of times, motor, you name it! Worst part is that all of the non essentials part that also broke off (wheels, and plastic pieces of the door) were not covered by Sears warranty so I had to end up using glue and all kind of contraptions to keep them together. Finally, when we decided to put our house in the market we replaced this junk with a Bosch. So far so good. Whirlpool actually never even washed properly, now with the Bosch we finally know what it means to have a dishwasher that really washes for real!

We purchased a 4 piece set of Whirlpool kitchen appliances and have minor to major problems with 3 out of the 4. We had problems with our gas range/oven from the start. When I called to register the brand new range they told me it had been previously registered to someone else and they made me fax my receipt to them proving that the appliance was purchased new. Lowes said it was brand new in the box when I purchased it leading me to believe Whirlpool tried to pass off a refurbished product onto Lowes and then onto us. No surprise when the stove stopped working 3 times in barely over a year. It was so defective Lowes ended up replacing it for us. Not Whirlpool... they only argued with me about how the third time it was out of warranty and offered no help in fixing or replacing the defective oven. Now our ice maker just stopped dispensing ice 7 days after our warranty expired on our refrigerator model # WRS586FLDM00. Whirlpool will only agree to cover parts and is sticking us with the service call and labor! And thats not all... the plastic coating on the dishwasher racks started coming off exposing rusty metal when it was barely over a year old and I have received a postcard indicating there is a lawsuit involving our model for overheating and fire events! Now waiting for that to be our next issue. I am so disgusted with Whirlpool. We bought Whirlpool appliances believing they were quality products. They are quite the opposite. Wish I had researched their reputation and history of complaints before buying. Do not recommend Whirlpool Brand. Sincerely, Disgusted in California

Worst appliance of any kind that I have ever used. Has only on/off button, in effect. Wastes water. There is no option to change anything once cycle has begun. No soaking. Occasionally, the machine simply decides to stop and drain itself so that you can start all over again!! No idea how long cycle is. Nearly done? No idea. No matter what temp or how much detergent or how much water, the clothes are not clean. The lid locks and so there is no way to know whats going on. I suspect there is very little water during rinse cycle. All of the whirlpool appliances are similarly horrible. Washer is the WORST. Shame on you Made in America.

Immediately after purchasing an entire kitchen of Gold Series kitchen appliances including the refrigerator with bottom freezer in 2/2013 from Lowes we began having issues with the refrigerator. I am not an engineer and dont profess to be, but even I can figure out that the whole thing is a problem based on a design issue. The top drips water consistently and has from the first, which has been addressed numerous times. Ice maker replaced trying to fix the situation two times. The freezer guides were messed up and off from the beginning, and had to be ordered-waited for, then installed. In total a repair person has been here, an inconvenience on our part - 7 or 8 times and we still dont have a refrigerator that works properly! The last time we had someone look at it, there was a part that had to be ordered from, yes, Mexico and we had to wait a week or so and they told us they could rent us a loaner!!! Are you kidding me?? I should have kept the old 26 yr old fridge in my garage that is still working that was built in America! After buying $8000 in appliances and supposedly a top of the line brand name that in the past has shown integrity to their products... I pay my bill each month, because if I didnt someone would put it on my credit. But who puts it on Whirlpools credit? Who is going to hold them accountable and how many complaints must there be in order for someone in the government to step up and do something to a company that is taking tax dollars from our US and sending it to other countries but selling less quality products to those who do pay the taxes? I am ready to sign a petition! I should have gone with the other brand! Any other brand would have given me a better shot than this of having less of an issue! Terrible experience and certainly NOT GOLD! Shame on YOU Whirlpool!

Since my review I have been corresponding with Whirlpool Customer Service (Chris). First he sent me an email and mailed a replacement board to have us (the homeowner) install. Because the cover was so melted, the replacement board would not fit down into it. I emailed pictures to Chris. Once he saw the pictures, he called me and arranged for the water heater to be replaced since it was still under warranty. He even extended the authorization code so we would have plenty of time to arrange for a plumber to do the work. We had to pay for the plumber, but Whirlpool arranged for us to have a new water heater. Now I can sleep at night without worrying that my house would burn down if the old water heater caught fire. Chris was GREAT to work with. I had a direct number to him and called any time I had a question. I was very impressed with Whirlpools Customer Service.

I had to go to the BBB and file a complaint as everyone at Whirlpool would not help. Last year they finally replaced the top, and now, its rust yet again. I rinse and dry the machine when I am done using it. The repair man said it was because manufacturers are not using primer and just one coat of cheap paint. What now?
