Cleans average compared to previous dishwashers. Does not dry well even on high heat dry. Cycle takes about two hours and I have to run it during the day because it is too loud. The price was good, but I wish I would have bought a little higher grade.

We purchased this washer on 2008-04-27. It ran okay until a few months ago when it began making strange intermittent noises. This is now happening more and more often. I reviewed a lot of websites and see that this is a common occurrence for Whirlpool Cabrio washers, and Whirlpool will not stand behind it and make it right. Im going to write them a letter mirroring what Im saying here, and remind them that other appliances in my house are coming due for replacements or upgrades. Whirlpool and its affiliates will not be part of those upgrades going forward. I have no patience or tolerance for expensive **, which is what they put out here. I will have to purchase a replacement washer since this seems to have two major areas of failure, both extremely expensive to repair. I might check out Roper and see what they have--its apparently very well rated by the folks that work on these things.

2 years of use the wash plate went. $150 later, one year later wash plate went again (the wash plate is all plastic, the motor spline in metal total stripes the plastic teeth in the wash plate) I replace myself. 3 weeks later the shift actuator failed which cost another $60 which I replaced. Now the bearing is going. There are only 3 people living in the house. I would stay away from the top loader washers from Whirlpool h2 low series. Huge disappointment.

I have had trouble with this AccuBake stove since four months after I bought it in 2011. First, the clean cycle would work intermittently then would not ignite to bake, broil warm or clean. All burners would light intermittently. Every time I had trouble, I called the service tech from Homestead Lumber, where I purchased the product from and he could never find anything wrong. Product would work fine whenever he came out. Finally, it acted up in May of this year while the product was still under warranty and while the service tech was here. The tech replaced the circuit board. One month later, Im still having trouble replacing igniter. Four days ago, Im still having trouble. This stove stinks. Right now, I wish I had my $959 back for the stove and wish Whirlpool had it stuck up their butt.

We purchased our refrigerator new in 2014. After only 4 years and taking meticulous care of our Whirlpool Top Mount Refrigerator, the temperature regulator stopped working - and the condenser fan rang constantly. The refrigerator couldnt get below 50, and the freezer vacillated between 17 and 30 degrees. We live in a somewhat remote area and could not find an appliance repair person to look at it. So we had to purchase a new appliance. Needless to say we did not choose Whirlpool!

Whirlpool Gas Range Model WFG524LAB0 - Purchased on 09/2013. Product works well but noticed back in July 2014 that cook top was not cleaning well. Did not mind it that much thinking it was just baked on grease and would just do a general cleaning when I get to it. After the holidays and now getting around to clean the range top, I discovered the cause of range top not cleaning well. The porcelain was chipping away.Today I called Whirlpool customer to complain and see what they do. They replied that it was just a cosmetic blemish and that was not covered under warranty. I told them that that cosmetic blemish lead to rusting and eventually result to failure of the product. They also said it was out of warranty but was eager to have a tech come over to check the problem out for additional fee.

I purchased this WRX988SIBM01 refrigerator new at Lowes 23 months ago. The freezer evaporator failed with estimated repair costs of $600 on a unit that cost $2400. The authorized repair person indicated that the failed part was a recalled item on the three door models. Mine is the four door model but has the same evap model. When contacting Whirlpool about covering some of this cost, they denied the issue and offered no assistance. This was after hours spent trying to get through. They do not return phone calls. I will never purchased another Whirlpool or related company product again. The quality is subpar and I hope my post prevents others from buying their shoddy products. Made in America doesnt mean what it used to.

Whirlpool N50T61-403 - I bought this thing today 8.21.14 from Lowes. It is a Whirlpool 50-Gal water heater (6th sense) and was going to have it installed by their installer, but elected after seeing it was very similar to lining up with my old unit. I got it in and then filled it. After filling, I lit the pilot light per the instructions then turned the knob for heating it up. Success, the flame spread across the burners...then went out. The steady blink changed to the 2 blink code indicating a bad thermopile. It did not work - right out of the box. No plumber near me carries the part. Whirlpool has thus been pretty good about it offering to have someone come out at their cost... But if no one has the parts, that is no good. I am moving from this house so if we can get it to work, its the problem for the next owner. If not - Ill have to get an RMA and go back to Lowes... Then try the Rheem from Home Depot. Will see if they will overnight a part tomorrow. I found the other reviews - and I dont like it that this thing appears to have difficulty right out of the box.

After 48 years of marriage, I had never had a new, matching washer/dryer set. I had had several new washers, but only used dryers. These all were very good units and served me well for years. So I was excited to buy a new, matching set. I have never been soooo dissatisfied with anything in my life. As I have read from other reviews, the washer uses very little water, sometimes hardly enough to get the load of clothes wet, very little soap, and in my opinion, does hardly any agitating. I dont feel my clothes have ever appeared clean. The only ones that look clean were the ones that started out looking clean when I put them in. I know this is all an ecology thing, water saving, government guidelines, etc., but please give me my old washer back. It did enough agitation to get clothes clean. And the dryer usually will not get the jeans dry on the first attempt. I have tried various settings, and they just dont get dry. In short, I HATE THIS WASHER/DRYER SET. I have heard others talk about the same thing. No one likes them, but we are stuck with them. Would like to have the government step in and see how dissatisfied everyone is with them and force Whirlpool to give us our money back, trash these units, and buy something that actually works. PLEASE, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR WASHERS AND DRYERS, DONT BUY THESE. I believe they are called Cabrio.

We bought a new refrigerator 14 months ago and the compressor went out New Year’s Eve. Of course, expecting 30 people to celebrate! The first refrigerator Lowe’s delivered was loud and we called and asked to have it replaced, which they did. The second one was also loud and we debated if we should send it back also but we just put up with it! Second mistake was not buying the extended warranty. Since we have always had good luck with WP we didnt purchase the extended warranty. Neither WP or Lowe’s would do anything to help. The repairman who looked at it and diagnosed what was wrong said the compressor was undersized for the size of refrigerator and that it had worn itself out trying to keep up. He said he would not put in the same size compressor or it would do the same thing. Hence the loud noise of this model. I will never shop at Lowe’s again, and after 30 years as a Whirlpool customer, I will never buy another product from them. Also, if you plan to buy WP, buy extended warranty. They also leak water.

It is still going strong & I purchased it because it has a frost-free freezer that never needs de-frosting and I love the features & size - its the PERFECT FRIDGE. What I look for in a fridge is its colour - I like metal, steel grey colour. I go for reputation & quality. Frost free is the biggest factor that determines my purchases, long-term (10-year min.) warranty & guarantee, size.

I dont know the model you have but this exactly what I just had happen in May. Its what they call the jazz board that is behind the light area inside the front of the refrigerator, where the light bulb goes. This is a circuit board and it seems when connection arent happening properly the fridge wont go into defrost mode and the water freezes over the evaporator not allowing any cold air to the top but working cooling freezer and making lots of frost too. I paid $400 to Sears service repair. The jazz board itself, I kept the old one and you can buy it online for about $100 and a child can do the labor that I paid hundreds for because, like you, I didnt know what the problem was. It takes less than 1 min to do this. I was furious! I hope this helps you and I too will never buy a Whirlpool. I found this site looking for why the refrigerator is making very loud noises, very loud banging, clicking, humming. Its ridiculous!

A few months ago, the damper door in our refrigerator broke causing food in the refrigerator to freeze. Just the other day my Whirlpool dishwasher stopped draining properly. I purchased this range/electric (ygfe461lvq0) two years ago. It worked fine, but once about a year ago, the oven overheated and the breaker had to be turned off to stop it. No error codes were displayed. Year two, the oven broiler element stays on regardless if using bake or broil. Oven will go into runaway mode and breaker or cancel button has to be pushed to stop it from over heating. This range is a fire hazard and should be recalled regardless of what age it is. I called Whirlpool at Sears which recommended a tech who arrived to tell me that the control board is shot and for a price of around $400.00, it could be replaced. What is up with that? I had to pay for the expensive tech, also for 15 minutes of work. Sears says that I should have taken the extended warranty plan for around $160. Do I have to pay for an extended plan to have my house burned down due to a defect in manufacturing from Whirlpool? This is disgusting that a company can get away with crap like this. How do you people sleep at night?

In a recent decision regarding the highly expensive, supposed elite performing Whirlpool Gold refrigerators, a group of unsatisfied Whirlpool owners who are tired of cleaning water puddles from in front of their new refrigerators have hired all automobile corporations to manufacture cars only available to the CEO, Executive Board as well as the entire engineering staff at Whirlpool. These cars will be guaranteed to run ok. However, once the car is heated up under normal working conditions, the cars will be guaranteed to leak oil all over whatever surface they are parked upon. We hope that this will not be an inconvenience to the CEO of Whirlpool; however, perhaps once you have destroyed your new garage floor, you will understand the nature of our complaint with your poorly designed and engineered Whirlpool product. While this letter will have no effect on my current defective product provided to me by Whirlpool, it makes me feel better and I have not had the attention span to listen to my wife complain while she is cleaning up yet another (whirl) pool underneath our fridge.

We purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer due to the companys past reputatio
We purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer due to the companys past reputation and our own past experience with Whirlpool appliances fully expecting to receive great performance and durability. We have had the pair just about 2 years and the washer started experiencing problems during the spin cycle. The unit would get out of balance easily and then it would stop without spinning, leaving the clothes very wet. Well, as our past experience had indicated to us the washer is usually much more reliable than the dryer, or thats the way it had been for us. So we only purchased the extended warranty on the dryer. Not being covered on the washer we located a local technician and he promptly diagnosed the problem as the transmission failed causing the noisy bearing and the failure of the unit to spin properly. Our tech quickly repaired the unit but this failure disappointed me to the point of contacting Whirlpool. Thats where I came upon this site and saw the multitude of complainers with the same type of problems and some that are worse than ours. Our purpose in this review is to add to the 1100 or more reviews that report the same kind of issues. We are now in the same mindset as the 1100. Will we ever buy another Whirlpool? Probably not, especially since it doesnt look like Whirlpool wants to stand with their customers to make it right. Customer support is just as important to us as the reliability we seek. I would much rather spend a bit more in the price than replace or repair the unit after the purchase. A little economics lesson for our friends at Whirlpool is that if you abandon your 1100 customers you will save about $440,000.00, but those 1100 will tell everyone they know of their problems with that product and as a result many thousands will never purchase a Whirlpool. So if we all influence 5 of our friends not to buy, then 1100 X 5 = 5500 people X an average price of $800 which equals about 4.4 million dollars of lost sales. Seems like a no brainer to want to stand behind your customers. We dont believe that any washing machine on the market should fail after a few months to 2 years. These products should be built to last many years and the maker of these products should have that goal.

I purchased a condo last year with all appliances included. My Whirlpool refrigerator model is GI6SDRXXY00, a fairly new refrigerator. I noticed orange and moldy spots on ices when dispensing them. I changed the filter, thought maybe it is the filter causing the issue. But after inserting the new filter and emptying the entire ice tray, I still get bad ice! I open the compartment, and surprisingly, found out that the spiral rod inside the ice dispenser was rusted! This is horrible and unacceptable! This is not a user fault but a manufacturing defect. The parts that are in direct contact with what customer consumes should be robust and safe. I contacted customer service, and they gave me a technician phone number which turned out to be a third party which only cares about money. They said they will inspect the refrigerator and will charge me $134.00. I will not use this refrigerator anymore and will replace it soon. AND I will never purchase any more Whirlpool products. The person at the 877-251-1679 number gave me a good tip and that may have fixed the problem in the short-term. They told me theres a screen for venting on the bottom of the unit and to use a bottle brush after turning off the unit to clean the screen. I did this yesterday and the pilot light has stayed lit. I called the toll-free number and was told the water heater was out of warranty, but they could send me the part to fix the heater at half-price. I ordered it and they waived ground shipping. The washer never uses enough water ever. The clothes are not clean and it sucks! The clothes are half dry when agitation is going. The bulky setting doesnt clean the clothes either. Ive tried every detergent on the market to see if it would help. No different results. I paid a lot of money in 2015 for this washer and Ive had bad experiences ever since. No change in my water bill since I have to usually wash clothes and towels twice. I want my money back so I can buy a better washer! Im beyond aggravated! I have looked for my receipt but its been awhile. I did get insurance on it. I bought it at Lowes it should be on my card they scan.

Bought unit from Lowes in july 2017. Shortly after icicles started forming on the roof of the freezer near where the door & frame meet. Called authorized service repair company to have them check out. Tech knew right away what was wrong. Appears Whirlpool has the parts made in China & then assembled in the USA. China has overfilled the freezer door with insulation warping the door. This makes the door seal sag on the bottom & pull away on the right side. No way to repair. Was told they need to order a new freezer door.Weeks later I get a call that Whirlpool cannot get a door replacement!!! Said they will give Lowes a store credit. The floor model at Lowes has the same defect. When Lowes ordered a replacement unit they opened the packing & found that this unit has the same defect. I am replacing with a Frigidaire! Where is the quality control at Whirlpool. Anyone at Whirlpool who puts these units together could not help but see this defect - but ignores it & ships it out anyway. Thats what you get from farming stuff out to China. No excuse on Whirlpools part. Maybe Trump can save Whirlpool.

Avoid Whirlpool at all cost. I have had the GSS series, which was horrible. It was declared unfixable by service after 2 weeks of ownership. It was replaced with a similar WP model WS series and was told it was basically identical to the GSS series except for some cosmetic differences (They do look identical and yes, it’s just as horrible as the GSS.). The first one was defective from day 1. It was replaced and assured the next one would be thoroughly checked out prior to delivery. Obviously, nobody did this (was still in box and never opened). The fridge arrived and had the same exact defects as the previous units. Service literally said these were junk and they had nothing but issues with them that they simply cannot fix, and issues Whirlpool is obviously aware of but will not admit to, nor back up their products. Service literally told me to avoid WP at all cost or I will have nothing but non-stop issues and non-stop service calls and the fridge will still not be fixed. I purchased the extended 5 year warranty that clearly states that the fridge will be fixed or replaced if deemed non-repairable. Mine was! Yet, neither Whirlpool nor the retailer will do anything. I was literally told Take it to the dump and go buy a new fridge by both Whirlpool and the retailer. My purchase was less than a year ago. The 3rd fridge has only been here 3 months. They took my $1,500. They took my money for the extended warranty. It has been declared non-repairable, yet Whirlpool’s and the retailer’s response is Too bad, we are keeping your money, not honoring the warranty. We don’t care if it’s non-repairable. Take it to the dump and buy a new one. This is new! The money it cost, the money for extended warranty, the money for lost food, the money for lost wages due to having to be here for repeated service calls, the huge amount of time spent using hair dryers and everything else under the sun (this fridge must be baby sat and monitored pretty much 24/7 due to more issues than I can list). The fact this fridge has taken over my life, with freezer and fridge unusable (totally unusable, it has taken over my life, but I still can’t use it and spend a fortune getting take-out food) is just shocking, but more shocking is the fact neither WP or the retailer (the blue one that starts with an L, ends with an S and competes with HD the orange store) will stand behind the product or the warranty and instead is telling me to flush multi thousands of dollars down the drain and take my new, with extended warranty, to the dump and buy a new one. Calls to both companies only led to more wasted time and frustration.I don’t even see how this can be legal. They happily took my money. They fully explained how I needed the extended warranty in case something like this happens and assured me the extended warranty would protect me in case something goes wrong for 5 full years. They will replace it with a new one if un-repairable. Yet in less than a year, Ive gotten 3 defective ones with the last one only 3 months old with the first service call made on the day after delivery, but I’m supposed to throw all this money down the drain, take my new fully warranted fridge to the dump and buy a new one?!Shocking and not something I can afford to do. If I could afford it, I would get this thing out of my house in a heartbeat and buy something else, but I’m not made of money so this is not an option. Not sure what I can do other than to warn others to avoid Whirlpool and avoid the retailer (L---s). I’m just in shock and to say I’m upset would not even come close to describing my utter disappointment and frustration with both companies and this whole ordeal (never ending nightmare is more appropriate).

Our 3 year old 2013 whirlpool gold French door refrigerator was not cold enough in the freezer. I tried a few self help remedies. Then had repairman. He had good news, bad news. Good news is Whirlpool will replace the evaporator because, they know they have a problem with the part. Bad news is, they wont cover the labor which is $400.00. Freezer now fine. Has anyone else had this situation. I am pretty angry that they wont cover labor for a part they know is defective.

Model WTW4850OXQO. Purchased this washer in Nov. 2011. Two months ago the washer began making a loud grinding noise in the wash cycle, so loud it can be heard throughout the house. Called the dealer whose serviceman said it was the gearbox and it would need to be replaced. Cost of the gearbox $235.00 plus $165.00 service. Called Whirlpool in TN and was told that I didnt purchase their 1 yr warranty. What the hell is a 1 year warranty but me paying Whirlpool to fix their defective piece of crap in case it breaks in the 1st year. I owned a Kenmore that lasted 11 years, an RCA that lasted 12 years, and a Maytag that lasted 10 years. Never a problem til they died of old age. This piece of ** is breaking down after 3 1/2 years. NEVER buy Whirlpool! Also, the inside of the machine SMELLS. My wife has to use bleach or cleanser to get the smell out. Once again a company in the USA thats too big to care about its customers!

I purchased a (second) Whirlpool washer (WFW87HEDW0) in October 2014. Since purchasing (and to this day), I manually dried the rubber gasket after completing my daily washes, knowing that mold growth was possible. I wash one to two loads of clothes about three to four days per week. During the first year, I did not notice any mold in this area and was confident that the manual drying and cleaning with Affresh was preventing mold growth. However, at the beginning of this year I discovered a little mold growth, which has slowly been increasing, in the inside lower lip of the rubber gasket. The image attached reflects mold in its current state. I was very surprise to see this happening since my diligent cleaning has been thorough and never ending. I even remove the soap dispenser tray to clean and air dry it outside of the washer and leave the washer door open at the end of the daily washes for extra fresh air circulation. This is my first official complaint about a Whirlpool front loader washer, even though I previously owned another (GHW9200LQ0) before this one and had mold growing on the rubber door gasket but, unfortunately, never officially complained about that old machine. Now, I dont qualify for the $500 compensation because I never officially complained three times within the first five years of owning the old washer. To my dismay, I did not immediately realize I had mold growth in the old washer. It was only until years later that a repairman told me that I had mold growth in it. In addition to telling me the price of replacing the rubber part and replacing a broken water pump plus labor would cost as much as buying a new washer. Before purchasing a new washer, I researched and read many reviews about Whirlpool and other brands before deciding on this new Whirlpool. I decided to give Whirlpool another chance and to follow their recommendations on the proper cleaning of the machine. Once again, I am disappointed and angry with Whirlpool and, now, have to figure out what to do with my current situation.

Cabrio Top Load Washer model WTW6800WW1 - Although we were very happy with
Cabrio Top Load Washer model WTW6800WW1 - Although we were very happy with the vendor where this was purchased and happy with the majority of the washer function; there is a problem with the cabinet & lid connectors rusting. Specifically, the lid connector on the left side totally rusted out, and also around the bleach cup, rust. There are also rust spots where the seam of the top section of the washer meets the bottom part. The washer was purchased in 2009. We have had it serviced in the past, prob 5 years ago, it needed a new motor and the rust was beginning to show then, while under warranty. I recently called Whirlpool and the associate told me that she had never received a call with regard to this type of problem. She did give me names and phone numbers of appliance repair in my area. I find it odd that Whirlpool would not make their associates aware of issues like this. I searched online and saw more than a few complaints about rust. So on it goes, no recourse, and as I read about the problem from others reporting this; it was mentioned that the vapors from the bleach cup etc, contribute to the rust. Additionally, even if it was under warranty, I was told that this is considered cosmetic and it would not be covered. Until... and I can only suppose, that until the lid possibly falls off while lifting, the cosmetic ruling may then turn into a function problem. Now there is also a squeaking sound, so off to call the appliance repair, check the cost and next time... buyer beware. I guess a lesson in science as well, hopefully this design flaw will be corrected for the next models in process.

We recently purchased a Whirlpool fridge, model WRT138FFDW and are very disappointed with a couple things. First of all, the refrigerator arrived with a broken shelf. Although it was no problem getting a replacement, we found out quickly that it is very hard to balance things on a wire shelf. Water bottles and the like fall over. It is completely our fault for not noticing when we purchased, but just giving you a heads up that it will be a pain for you. Secondly, the sound of the fridge is very loud. It truly is driving my wife crazy. When we called Whirlpool, we were told that if they come out to take a look and the part is not under warranty, we would be charged $129. It is a brand new refrigerator, how can some parts not be covered??!! On a positive note, it does keep things cold and the color white is nice. I will not be purchasing any more Whirlpool items for my home. Bad fridge and customer care!!

Long story short, we replaced a very old Whirlpool water heater with a new one a couple of years ago... We have had nothing but trouble. First, pilot light wouldnt stay lit. Found out that it was defective.... Whirlpool DID offer a no cost conversion kit. Had to pay shipping and installation costs. Have had the plumber out four more times to try to ANYTHING to keep it lit.... No luck. He even spoke to a Whirlpool tech on the phone and followed his advice. I have filed an online complaint with Whirlpool and the site stated that I would hear back within three working days. Guess what.... no reply. I have four other Whirlpool appliances that I love, BUT as they wear out, I will NOT consider Whirlpool.

Our Whirlpool gas hot water heater was purchased and installed (through Lowes) in April 2008. In February 2009, the thermostat failed. Because the failure happened less than a year after purchase, Whirlpool replaced the part and paid for labor. The hot water heater failed again three weeks ago, and we contacted Whirlpool. We were once again provided with another thermostat, and were charged $135.00 by a plumber to install it (even though the customer service rep stated that there were known issues with this tank model). The tank is still not working properly. We (with our tenants) have tried troubleshooting according to their instructions, to no avail. It has been three weeks now, and no resolution. The heater has a six-year warranty. Not sure what this means if the product is defective to begin with. We pay to attempt to repair it?We will not be spending any more money on labor to install parts that may or may not work and have demanded that Whirlpool replace the heater. Whirlpool has refused to pay for any labor costs and told us that we must take the heater back to Lowes. So I suppose that means we have to pay to have a 3 1/2 year old heater removed from the gas and water lines, transported to Lowes, and a new one installed. What a deal.Stay away from Whirlpool.

We bought a travel trailer and it has a refrigerator with an ice maker in it and weve only used for 6 months out of the last year. The fridge is already broken (doesnt cool). They promised they would fix it even though we were out of warranty (by 7 days). That was 2 weeks ago. Theyve had one person come out and look at it, that couldnt fix it and now theyre claiming that they never told me that they would fix it and they will only cover up to $100 for someone to come fix it but I have to find the person because they couldnt find anybody. I asked them that if this was a fridge in the house how would they go about fixing it and they said it was the same process. How do you expect somebody to go out without a fridge for two-plus weeks? So many people told us not to buy the Camper because it had a Whirlpool in it but we didnt listen and we are regretting that now. The worst part is that after 48 hours we were promised they would replace the fridge if they couldnt get anybody to come out and fix it because they already okayed for the warranty to be used. But now the lady didnt put it in the notes which her name is Terry. We cant get a new one and we are waiting for a supervisor to call us back which probably wont even happen!!!

On April 10, I bought a Whirlpool washing machine with a sensor. My clothes do not come clean. The dirty spots are still visible. I had three technicians come to check it out and after they just made the machine start, make the water run, and make the water empty, they confirmed that it was working normally. I have insisted on having someone come and just do a small wash and they did not agree because they are not there to wash clothes. I went back to Leon’s where I bought it and the saleslady told me that she could not do anything about it. I have been dealing with the customer service and the person has tried three times to get someone to come and check the washer properly and was insisting in front of me that I wasnt at all satisfied with the performance of the washer and still confirmed that the washer was working fine. They keep saying that there are no parts that need to be fixed or exchanged, so that means there is nothing wrong with the washer. I have tried all different kind of soaps. They were suggesting that I use Tide, which was the best performing soap. I used Tide or Purex - I even tried half a bottle of bleach - and it would not clean my clothes. The problem is the clothes are not turning, they just hardly moved with water that just keeps the clothes humid. I tried putting in more water with a bucket and when I push the start button, it would drain out all the water that it did not put itself. Ive called the consumer protection and they have advised me to take legal actions against the company and the store that sold it to me. They confirmed that whatever we buy, the article has to do the work it was made for; so the performance of a washing machine is to wash clothes. I even took a three-year prolonged warranty and the store told me that once the one-year warranty with the company has expired, then they could help me with sending their technicians and see what the problem was and they would take it from there. I have an account with the store and I have eighteen months to pay it off. So I was wondering if the saleslady did sell me an appliance saying that it was very good and that I should not have any problems with it. Can I take steps going against her for false advertisement? It’s a month now that my clothes are not washed properly and I need to rewash them by hand before putting them out to dry. The consumer protection office has been telling me that the store should be the one to finalize the problem with the company, but it seems that not even they can come to an agreement. Whatever steps I will take against the company and the store, what are my chances of getting my washer replaced? Whirlpool has been advised about me taking them to court and I got permission to do so. Actually, they invited me to go ahead and do what I thought was right. I do not have the money or time to waste on something that maybe I will have no chance to get anywhere. All I want is to have it replaced with another washer that would be more performing. If anyone has had the same problem and had their case solved, maybe it will give me hope to go on. Please, what is the best and fastest way for me to get this problem resolved? I do need a washing machine. I do need to wear clean clothes. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We have a Whirlpool with freezer on top, nothing fancy in the apartment we rent. Twice the lines have clogged up with ice, causing the water to pool in the bottom of the fridge and then leak onto the floor. The maintenance man said this was a common problem in the complex with the refrigerators. Tonight, I heard noise coming out of the fridge. It was so loud it scared the cat. I went to check on it and a juice bottle had exploded in the fridge. It cannot keep an appropriate temperature. Things up front are barely cool and things at the back freeze. I received this Email from the Whirlpool Director of Consumer Care to evaluate my experience with their customer service department. I filled out the survey over a week ago including a complete documentation of my problems and have not even received an acknowledgment of the survey or promise to look into my problems. In the last 7 months I have experienced problems with 2 Whirlpool major appliances which both appear to be unrepairable and which have been unsuccessfully brought to the attention of your customer support group. In March a fridge and in October a clothes washer. Both were high end products roughly 3 to 4 years old. I did not have an extended warranty with the fridge so I dealt directly with the customer support group. However I was covered by warranty with the washer and your distributor Bad Boy have been making the calls on my behalf but have been just as disappointed to date as I was. Both cases were very similar. In both cases the repairman came out within a few days and promised to return the following week with the broken part but I have never heard from either one of them EVER. In the case of the fridge I was told to defrost it the day before the promised repair date and lost all the food $$$. At this stage a number of calls went out from me to Whirlpool for the fridge and from Bad Boy for the washer and eventually we both got a new delivery date of roughly one month. Both times the date passed with no shows and no call backs. Repeated calls later to the customer service group, with promises of EXPEDITING the delivery, the fridge part delivery date was extended to 3 months so we had no choice but to buy a new fridge. As for the washer, Bad Boy even had an unsuccessful face to face meeting with your representatives and we have had no word back or expected delivery dates well into the third month.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO? I have made so many calls with so few call backs and no clue what to expect or when? Your representatives use the word expedite with no idea what the word means. At the suggestion of one of your representatives I even called one of your distributors Sears to see if they had the part. Their Canadian head office is in the Philippines and they said they had the same problem with Whirlpool. Twice I tried to talk with your representatives supervisor and both times were unsuccessful. In a world of computers where it should take seconds to find inventory parts and expediting packages usually refers to next day delivery, the fact Whirlpool requires months is unbelievable. The only explanations I can come up with is 1- You dont make parts for your appliances. 2- New appliances are made so poorly all parts are gone. 3- You could not care less about your customers. 4- You dont own a computer. Most of our appliances are Whirlpool because we thought you had a good reputation. We had to purchase a new fridge and still have had no word on the washer?

Purchased this dishwasher in 2015. It has been horrible. The unit has never cleaned sufficiently on any cycle. I run the unit in the evening for the full cycle with heat. It takes almost 4 hours. The dishes are still soaking wet the next morning. We would be considered light use as a family of two. I hand wash any larger pans or cookware as the racks do not support anything of midrange weight or above. With the poor cleaning, I purchased a additional silverware rack and placed it more centrally to attempt better cleaning. It remains mediocre at best. The most recent irritation is the door latch has started pulling free from the unit and remains attached to the door! I have to take pliers and remove it from the door and reaffix it into the housing of the unit. Will never recommend this nor will I ever purchase anything from this company in the future. Its amazing to me that every other complaint listed here is identical to the problems I have had with my Duet washer. In the past 4 years, I have had two Duet washers and now, the 2nd one has to be replaced. On the first, the control board blew and it was too expensive to consider replacing. I had a new Duet later that day (I use a great, small local appliance store that is reliable and has a great reputation so I know Im not being screwed over). This one made it for 3 years before the bearing broke. It sounds like its about to launch into orbit. I can either continue to use it until it stops working (likely very soon) or just replace it now as its too expensive to repair. I cant take a chance on it breaking down, so...Thats a good gig Whirlpool has, huh? Repairs are prohibitively expensive so they sell more machines. Whirlpool appliances used to be among the most reliable and well-made. Not any more. Two Duet washers in 4 years in my honest opinion is ludicrous. When it did work, it seemed to do the job and I have to admit to very, very heavy use (3-5 loads/day). But the days of a washer lasting 20-30 years are long over.

I have had my whirlpool top loader washer 2/12 years. There are 3 adults in our household, but we do at least 1 load per day. During a spin cycle we heard a loud bang and then the washer starting spinning very fast. I called for repair and was told the cost was 500.00. Now I must buy a new washer as that cost is excessive and I see this is a common problem. This new washer will not be a whirlpool!!!

A few months ago our Whirlpool microwave just completely died. We had only been in our brand new home for about 18 months at the time, so I was very disappointed. I would have bought a different brand at that time, but didnt want it to look ridiculous, as it is mounted in the cabinet above the Whirlpool oven I was shocked to get a text from my wife a couple days ago, saying the same thing had happened to our oven. I thought that it must be a circuit breaker. My parents had Whirlpool appliances in my home growing up and we never had a problem with our oven. Well... I was wrong not a circuit breaker. The thing is just dead. Nice... Thanks Whirlpool! Thanks Century Communities for installing the absolute cheapest products in my home! Wonder what will be next? Probably the range top... Ill let you know.

We have always bought whirlpool appliances, and trusted the name. We can put a man on the moon but we cant build a reliable bottom freezer refrigerator. My previous refrigerator was whirlpool. 19 yrs old when it went out for a new whirlpool bottom freezer fridge, 2014 Jan. 14 months after purchase, no warranty. The temp in freezer and upper compartment would increase and stop making ice. At first, we thought it was the icemaker. Repairman NOT FACTORY TRAINED, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.. Came and looked at it said, yep, icemaker. Plugged it in after 4 days. Just like brand new - making ice, not the icemaker. About 4 days later same problem - temp increasing. Called the store where we purchased it, sent the same repairman. He said it was a cooling fan. This went on for 2 months trying to figure the problem. Well, we cant rebuild a refrigerator out of parts it doesnt need, so we called a FACTORY TRAINED TECH who diagnosed the thermostat and defroster in the bottom of fridge taking two screws out and pulling bottom freezer out. It was iced up. Cost to fix it - 522.00. So I called whirlpool corp., explained problem. They agreed to pay for parts if we paid labor, 100.00. This is doable. However, if we continue to have problems after this, we will purchase a top freezer fridge, no ice maker because they constantly break down.

We had purchased a Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer and Dryer in 2007. Since that time we have had several repairs on the dryer, resulting in us having to purchase an entire new unit in 2011 (4 years old), along with mold that has accumulated in the washing machine on the tub and rubber seal that cannot be removed after several attempts utilizing several products that were recommended. The end result is our laundry that has been washed - comes out with a musty odor. Not happy at all with the top of the line, best possible machine to produce clean laundry as was sold to us! This has been a nightmare, and a totally dysfunctional appliance that should have lasted longer than 5 years!

I knew I couldnt be the only one with these problems. The reviews confirmed it. I bought my Cabrio washer in 2012. Energy efficient, no agitator to catch on clothes, Great. It took me a while to figure out that the machine was eating my clothes and not cleaning them at all. Oh, they smelled fresh. That HE detergent smells nasty. The machine ate the edges off my good towels, T-shirts, jeans. Brand new underwear (thick elastic) was stretched all the way out and pulled. Normal stains and dirt do not come out even with pretreating. I started running my clothes on the delicate cycle, prewashing stains in a bucket by hand and then putting clothes in mesh bag before running the load. They still came out dirty and ruined. When I run the loads, it still registers as not being that energy efficient on the controls. Id gladly trade it back for my old washer. I feel like I have stepped back in time to a time where you washed everything in a tub or bucket. What a waste of time.

You just have to brush up against them lightly and they turn. 3 times my nephew has come into a gas smelling kitchen. Whirlpool sent repairman out. He said they operate properly. Really?? In 2006, I paid $1,300 for above fridge and bought extended warranty. Within a year, I had four service calls for condensation in bins that causes freezing of lunchmeat, veggies, etc. and anything put in them. The A&E service company said to use plastic bags and then said I should keep the bin drawers open at an inch so air could flow. Next call said vacuuming underneath would solve it. Final call said again to use bags and suggested modifying the fridge by making a hole in the sidewall (which would nullify the warranty).Since I declined modifying the fridge, he contacted Whirlpool saying I declined service. I still have this problem, was going to call for service because I could really use the space the drawer provides but I have a feeling I will just be throwing money away. I was going to contact Whirlpool but Ive done that too. I feel totally ripped off on an item that should have quite a few years of service left.

I am somewhat satisfied with my induction range. We ordered it just before Thanksgiving from Lowe’s a year and a half ago. We were told that we would have it before Christmas, which was fine with me. I don’t cook for Thanksgiving. Just a lot of Christmas baking. It turned out that Whirlpool had not started making our range until January and it wasn’t delivered until mid-January. It had been really good until about a month ago, when it blew the circuit breaker. My husband was cooking dinner while I was at work and it just blew the circuit breaker. No power surge in the rest of the house. No other circuit breakers affected. When the power was turned back on, two burners were out. As it turns out, the main circuit board is dead. So now the one large burner, a small burner and the ovens don’t work. There are two circuit boards for each oven. When it is working, it is a great stove. However when it doesn’t work, it is costly and takes a while to get repaired.

Refrigerator caught fire - I own a 2003 Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator that I bought new from Lowes in 2003. On Friday, July 13, 2012, I woke up to the smell of burning wires. I called 911 and they sent out a fire engine. While waiting for the firemen to arrive, my neighbor came to help me determine where the smell was coming from. Within seconds, we heard loud clicks and a huge cloud of gray smoke came out from behind the refrigerator. The firemen arrived, entered the house, unplugged the refrigerator and told me that the smoke and smell was coming from behind the fridge.

Within 2 years the evaporator blew. $1000 dollar repair that Whirlpool covered, yay!. BUT 3.5 years later the compressor blew...another $1000. Whirlpools response...Sorry Sears went under and the fridge is 5.5 years old. Whirlpool discontinued the model so no new fridge for us unless we re-do a whole bank of cabinets. Model #RF262LXSQ Serial #RT2031953 - I purchased this appliance from Lowes approximately 6 years ago. Last week, I was heating soup and about 5 minutes after I placed the pot on the stove on medium, I heard a large pop and then several cracking noises. When I entered my kitchen, I found the burner flaming red, and when I tried to remove the pot, it was stuck. I immediately turned the burner off and after a few minutes, when it began to cool, was able to remove the pot. What I found was the glass top had melted and blistered and was cracked from front to the back of the stove. Although Lowes was not able to help me, they suggested that I contact you as they had never heard of this happening before. Not only am I dissatisfied that a stove should last many years past this purchase, I am inconvenienced until another stove can be delivered. I believe this to be a factory malfunction of the stove and request a credit for my purchase.

We had purchased matching Whirlpool Cabrio HE washer and gas dryer. Both appliances were worthless. Same problems as everyone else. Clothes did not come clean. Had to put it on bulky items just to clean the clothes due to lack of water. Funny how all the older machines that actually put water into the machine cleaned clothes. Went through a motherboard (computer) for both the washer and dryer at $250 each. Washer had repairman out at least 12 times over 3 years. Never again would I purchase a Whirlpool. We went to our local appliance dealer and purchased a Speed Queen. These are like the older ones. THEY WORK! They use the correct amount of water and wash your clothes in half the time. 22 minutes per load! You can open the lid while the water is running in and load your clothes. Gee, what a concept. Only company still making them in Wisconsin, United States. Go Wisconsin! They back their product with a 20 year warranty. What?? Who does that anymore? Companies who stand behind their product. We love our new Speed Queen.

Seems to use very little water. When I take the clothes out, they are bone dry in places which means they havent even seen any water! Clean (?) clothes end up smelling musty and I end up having to wash them two or three times which completely goes against any eco argument! I am really disappointed with this product and would never buy Whirlpool again. I have just washed our dog blankets. The cycle finished so took them out, had to check that the detergent had been used as the blankets were almost completely dry. The blankets still completely smell of dog so have had to put them through another wash (with more detergent – waste of money) and with a pre-wash cycle. Rubbish! We also have a Whirlpool drier and that is no better. Washing never comes out completely dry. It always has to be fully aired, sometimes more than others. There is no consistency in how wet or dry the clothes come out. Avoid at all costs.

We have had a Whirlpool hot water heater for 4 years now. Every three months something has to be replaced on it. Customer service does nothing to help and when we called Monday about a replacement part they told us they could no longer sell parts for that specific heater due to it being in a double wide. I contacted several more people and found out that heater was fine; all we needed was the part. The customer service woman was very rude and not willing to help at all. I told them we don’t have the money to keep replacing their piece of **. I ended up having to order yet again another part that was just replaced 2 months ago from Lowes. So after being with no hot water since Monday, now on Friday it is fixed, I wonder for how long. We do not recommend Whirlpool for nothing and will never buy a piece of ** from them anymore. We have a Whirlpool refrigerator that is causing us problems. I hope to soon get different brands in here to replace what Whirlpool can’t seem to make accurate.

They have sent three specialists to look and assess the Whirlpool washer and dryer that I have. Both stated that the washer does not function correctly; the last repair man stated that he had seen many like this and they have a history of unreliability. I would like my money back, not a repair, as they do not even use just cold, but a mixture of both hot and cold. I had bought them specifically because I thought they only used cold, which was stated by Whirlpool. This is wrong advertising. I would like my money back. I still have the receipt and I am seriously unhappy with the washer and dryer, period.Since I cannot use the machine, which I had bought for $1600.00, the washer and dryer is now sitting in my basement. While whirlpool is saying that they wont take back the washer and dryer even thought it has a warranty. I had paid it in cash and I do not see why I should be forced to keep a broken washer and dryer set. I will contact my lawyer to consult this issue with Whirlpool.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio in 3/09 from Lowes for $1000. Like many of you, we thought we were purchasing a quality product that we would use for many years. I never thought my clothes were getting clean, but I thought it was just because I wanted to see them floating in water. Its been 3.2 years and now were plagued with the code F51. Whirlpool is definitely aware of the many problems with these machines. They are also, obviously, unconcerned about the problems we are experiencing. He stated it was a defected part or Whirlpool had never put grease in the bearings. A 450.00 part not counting diagnosis and labor. When I called Whirlpool, the first response I got was that they were sorry but we didnt buy the extended warranty, and of course the warranty it had was only a year. We purchased a Duet from Lowes just a few months ago. Within 2 weeks we had an inoperable machine. After 2 phone calls a service technician came out and looked it over. He had to come back a total of three times to replace the motherboard. That worked for about six weeks and it died again. He came out again and replaced the motherboard again. Fast forward two months and the machine is once again inoperable. When plugged in, it makes an ominous growling sound but nothing else happens. The idiot who designed this thing has no common sense. Its programmed so that it will LOCK on any failure. Not only has every one of these episodes left us with a load of clothes in there getting moldy, you cant even get to the model number or serial numbers; both of which are only visible inside the rim of the machine. So adding insult to injury, your machine is broken, your clothes are in there getting ruined, and YOU CANT EVEN GET TO THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO SET UP THE SERVICE CALL. If it had only happened once, Id laugh, but this is the third time and its not funny. We bought this machine because it said proudly made in USA. Next time, Ill support the Korean economy and buy a reliable, durable Samsung. The only positive I can offer is that the Whirlpool live chat person was able to set up the service call for me even though I cant get to the relevant data inside the machine. DONT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHER. Despite their legacy and US-feel-good associations, the sad truth is that they are poorly engineered and poorly manufactured.

I work on Whirlpool refrigerators for a living every single day of my agonizing, miserable, lousy life. Ive never seen such a mass of dysfunctional, defective rejects as I have with the new Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerators. The ice maker never works because the water line always freezes in the door. The food in your refrigerator side will either spoil or freeze because the damper door will stick open or freeze shut. The water filter housing will start leaking before you change the filter for the first time because of the inferior quality of the plastic its made from. And of course my all time favorite the compressor will always go out under the first 5 years (Thats why Whirlpool changed the warranty from 5 years to 1 on the sealed system). Ive never been a big extended warranty believer. But, like old saying goes, They just dont make them like they use to. Definitely applies to Whirlpool refrigerators.
