Cabrio Washer mod# wtw6700yw1 - Washer and Dryer purchased 2011. Now washer will not complete entire wash cycle. Shut off after 3 mins lets all the water out. Now affects all levels of wash. Contact Whirlpool customer service. Sent repairman. Claims sensor board needs to be replaced. Costs $285.00 + $55.00 for labor + $79.00 service call total cost $419.00. Needless to say I declined the repair and now after reading all other complaints glad I did. This sounds like a money pit, just keep repairing and never being fix. Repairman suggested Speed Queen washer so now shopping around for new unit. Dryer so far still working.

Horrendous product! Purchased December 3, 2014 – had service technician from Whirlpool check the unit for excessive noise 3 months later. Technician said it’s the way it is designed – ice maker in door, air has to be forced up from freezer so it makes a lot of noise! Now, 15 months later, the refrigerator has totally quit. We are waiting for technician from Whirlpool. Obviously, no extended warranty so Whirlpool said they would extend the warranty and cover this visit for $357! How nice of them since they are sure the parts will exceed that amount!!! What a piece of trash – guess the refrigerator is only meant to work about a year! NO MORE WHIRLPOOL! I am thinking about standing outside of Home Depot to warn any customers who are looking for a refrigerator not to buy Whirlpool!Updated 3/23/2016 - To add to our previous review, the service company, AIG finally after 3 days has approved the parts required to fix our with less refrigerator (15 months old.) It will take 8-10 business days for the parts to appear! We have no refrigerator for at least two weeks! Great service from Home Depot and AIG!

Purchased Model # wtw5000DW0 Jan 3, 2015. Aug 15, 2015 started leaking water. Certified technician came to repair. Aug 17 - new transmission. Sept 3 replaced new transmission with another new transmission. Sept 8 called master technician at Whirlpool, needs new clutch assembly. Both technicians stated they dont know what is wrong with the machine. Sept 10 new clutch assembly and agitator replaced. The machine still makes a horrible grinding noise and is unusable. The technician has replaced everything but Whirlpool says it is still fixable. The Master technician has no idea what is wrong with my machine yet he refuses to call it broken. I have been without a washing machine for 3 1/2 weeks. They refuse to offer a return authorization number. I have spoken to a Supervisor on the phone. She states the warranty is for repair. They wont admit their product is a piece of garbage. They have lost a customer. She stated she will put my complaint in a file.

I bought these products 2 1/2 years ago along with a dishwasher and Microwave, all which are Gold Series. The first month my Microwave broke. Instead of a certain part that they used to use, they now use a Capacitor instead and it broke. The repairman fixed it under warranty, but told me Ill be seeing you again. Then, my oven occasionally says Function not available. Whirlpool wont tell me what the problem might be and they have nothing for troubleshooting this problem in their manual. My only solution is to reset the circuit breaker and then it works for awhile. Now, My refrigerator has ice building up at the bottom of my freezer and leaking all over my floor. I found a Whirlpool bulletin online which explains that this problem is because of a defective part (Grommet) and that they have a replacement part for it and you can get it by calling their customer service department. Why didnt they send out recall notices to their customers? So, on 8/10/2015 and 8/11/2015 I tried getting this new p-trap part, but for two days now Whirlpools computers arent working and they have no other way of looking this stuff up. Very poor customer service and I also waited for a half hour on the phone to be told their computers arent working. How about putting a message on their pre-recorded message letting customers know their computers arent working?

We contacted Whirlpool different times. I hate this piece of junk refrigerator. But Whirlpool never cared. My husband and I both did 20 years in the Navy active duty and reserves. 20 years each. Do you think we could have gotten some response other than a worthless sorry. To the Whirlpool CEO when you ever get some kind of compassion please us a real refrigerator that works and has some real room in it. I hate this thing and I hate not having an ice maker that works. A french doors refrigerator that really works would be good. Heres our address **. Please leave it on our front porch. Will be holding our breath. Thanks for your support.

2007 we purchase a Whirlpool Casio washing machine. Rusted out in three years. 2008 we purchase Whirlpool gold dishwasher. In two years the front panel rusted out. We replaced this panel and now the second one has rusted out. According to Whirlpool they do not cover rust. When we replace the washer it was with a Samsung. NO SIGNS OR RUST IN THE LAST THREE YEARS. When we replace the dishwasher it will not be a Whirlpool. As far as I am concerned, Whirlpool products are junk.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set in 2013. In 11 months we have made at least 6 calls concerning the same issues machine leaving white residue on clothes. It has been one thing after another. Today the manager told me that my warranty only covered parts and not a replacement machine. I am washing my clothes two or three times to get them so we can wear them. First this is not saving water, energy, time and most of all CLOTHES. We are wearing our clothes out washing them. This is unacceptable. With this many complaints, the company has to know they have a machine with issues. I will never purchase Whirlpool again. I think we should all band together and file an action against Whirlpool. These machine cost too much money to be crappy.

The washer started to show error code for the door and washer would not restart. After removing the top of the washer and checking the door switch to see if there was a loose wire, I traced the wire back to the micro control unit, and upon inspection of the micro control unit, I found that the terminal that the door switch wire was attached to was loose and not making contact with circuit board.Although the washer is out of warranty being 7 years old, this is clearly not a part that is subject to wear and tear. The part was clearly manufactured poorly. I looked on the internet to purchase a new part but it seems that all micro control units are out of stock. This makes me wonder if one should start a class action suit as my part could be one of hundreds that was poorly manufactured. I called Whirlpool to see if they would send me another part to replace the bad unit but they said that because the washer was out of warranty, they could not help.

I was doing a routine refrigerator cleaning and the glass I was cleaning absolutely shattered all over my kitchen. Shards of glass are everywhere including my disposal. I called Whirlpool and talked to a customer service rep. Of course, this is not under warranty. So I asked to speak with a supervisor. All I could get from her is Sorry, youre disappointed. We can replace that part for $87.71. It has taken me over two hours to clean up all the glass. I wouldnt be upset if I had mishandled the glass, but it broke when I was drying it with a towel! I’m wondering if anyone elses glass shattered in the same fashion.

I just purchased a new Whirlpool 6th Sense hot water tank #333570. This unit is a piece of garbage. Whirlpool should be ashamed at the quality of product they make. This unit came with a bent temperature and pressure relief valve, which required a piece of copper tubing to be bent awkwardly just to remedy the situation. Also, the control box is set at 12 (most other brands are 14, which is common), forcing the gas lines to be re-piped (very expensive). This unit also is extremely noisy, runs really, really hot and is not energy-efficient at all. Shame on me for not researching this product more closely. If youre buying a new hot water tank, steer clear of Whirlpool products.

I purchased a Whirlpool top load washer that has been ruining my wasted items. My terry cloth towels all have pulls in them, knit polo shirts have pulls and holes, sheets and other items of clothing get caught and stuck under the agitator which then take a great deal of muscle power and struggle to release them. I have had the agitator replaced 3 times to no avail! Whirlpool is not willing to admit that I have a defective machine and will be sending another service repairman to try and fix the problem - this time, no charge to me after many tries and frustration. Customer service is not good unless you are lucky enough to get a supervisor who is willing to listen. We shall see what this next service call brings. Whirlpool Gold Series gas oven with Aqua Lift. Very unhappy with this oven. Cons: Aqua Lift technology doesnt work AT ALL (manual cleaning required); stove top hard to clean; 2 front gas burners are super burners which is fine for boiling water, but too hot for regular cooking. Would be better to have one super burner in the middle or back but two upfront is way too hot for regular cooking, even on lowest setting. Was going to use spray cleaner but cannot on convection ovens. In a bind what to do except scrub with Brillo. Anyone used Brillo?

I guess I am in the lucky group because my washer lasted about 3 years before the problems started. The latest is the lid lock light flashing, the machine doesnt go through full cycle but stops in the middle, doesnt spin and drain. Even before that the clothes didnt come out clean. The repairman said that this product is basically disposable and it makes more sense to buy a new washer than to invest in fixing this one because something else will break next.My old White Westinghouse lasted 18 years without one problem, Im sorry I wanted something new. What a pity that companies nowadays sell junk and the consumer has nowhere to go with a complaint. Im wondering if someone has the name and the address of the CEO of Whirlpool, I would like to ship that piece of junk to where it came from... it would be funny if other customers did the same. And I agree with other posts that class action suit would be in order... too bad nobody started it yet. I wish I had read the reviews before I made the purchase but at least I know now to stay away from all Whirlpool products and do whatever I can to prevent other people from making the same mistake I did.

Whirlpool electric range oven wont turn off. Used the oven 2 or so times per year.... Very unsafe, expecting internal breaker that would shut the thing down. Whirlpool Range/Oven PT3196685 happened on 6-10-2014, was baking cookies with timer on for 9 min. First batch turn out good, 2nd batch on fire before even get to 6 min, the burner is brightly hot and cant shut off from the panel... Saw ERR then COOL indicator... Tried but no respond from panel. The burner element wont turn off and temp keep rising white hot... The only way to shutoff is the house circuit breaker. But soon you turn on the breaker, the oven would turn on by itself and you cant switch it off. Where is the safety breaker on these range/oven when something goes beyond 500 degree..... UNSAFE PRODUCT. Ordered a new Whirlpool Gold 700 series but canceled after discovered others experienced similar situation with the new product. Could have burn down the house and worst when lives involved. WONDER IF ANYTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THESE SAFETY ISSUE.

I bought a high-efficiency Whirlpool washing machine in August 2011. One week after the warranty ran out, it stopped working. I called Whirlpool who, of course, would not fix my problem because I no longer had a warranty but did put me in touch with a repair company in my area. They came out and fixed it for 100 bucks, service and parts (service, of course, cost more than the part/labor). I didnt mind the hundred bucks, whatever. My washer was working again. Two weeks ago, I experienced yet another problem with my washing machine. Now, I understand machines getting used a lot over the years and eventually burning out, but this machine is a little more than a year old. I should not be experiencing problems with such a new machine. The problem was when the machine reached the spin cycle, it would just stop working and then lights would start blinking, blah, blah, blah. I called the repairman again who came out and reset my machine, hoping that that would work. He then told me if it happened again to let him know and he would have to replace the motherboard. Okay, I can live with that. Another 73 bucks, thats fine. Of course, this didnt work, and we ended up replacing the motherboard. Another 178 bucks - thats $324 that I have now invested in a washing machine, half of what it cost to begin with. But its an investment, right? And I need clean clothes so whatever.I was a little wary when the repairman told me that a problem with the motherboard may be related to a problem with the motor, that it can send signals to the motherboard if its not working and is just a symptom of the actual diagnosis. I guess he was right because 3 loads into using my newly repaired washing machine and the same problem has arisen, yet again. I refuse to invest any more money into what is obviously a lemon. Rest assured I will never again purchase a Whirlpool product, regardless of what type of appliance it is.

I stumbled across this site while browsing the Net, looking for a way to deal with the same situation I now know you all have been struggling with: Whirlpool Washing Machine! I wonder: Is NASA still accepting volunteers for their living on Mars experiment? Id rather beat my clothes on a rock than touch that POS Whirlpool that has me back on tranquilizers! Mine was purchased about 2 years ago when I was in bad health and my son was handling my affairs. I could tell - just by listening - there was something very wrong with it, from the first load my son attempted to wash. It would start and stop, restart, restop, ad infinitum and made a terrible racket. I told him nobody would intentionally make a machine like that--something had to be wrong with it but he assured me that he had checked both with the store that sold it and he also read the manual. He had a hard time accepting but we thought maybe this was because it was new and would settle down after some use; after all, the store (Best Buy) assured him the sound was normal for this particular machine. However, the weird sounds did NOT lessen nor stop, nor did the starts and stops. Little did we know, this was just the tip of the iceberg! We have encountered/suffered through every nasty performance detailed here: low water, wont spin, leaves clothes soaking wet, wont spin out excess water, lid locks (grrrrrr), it cant seem to switch from one procedure to the next; there is nothing washing the dirt out of the clothes--they just sit in the water and soak(?), then the water is released. Clothes come out with stains still on, so wet that the water must be wrung out of them! Very hard for me with arthritis all through my body! Ive tried countless times to reset machine to Drain & Spin. Ive even waited (yawn) for it to unlock so I can open and then readjust the heavy/wet laundry, trying to make it even all the way around so to avoid an unbalance. But nothing helps. It will start to spin. And then it stops. (wait, wait) Starts to spin again. Stops. (wait, wait) Starts again, does it a bit longer. (start to relax) Stops. Ive spent HOURS engaged in that kind of mindless, maddening frustration, just trying to wash one small-medium load. (I wash only for one person--myself, now.) My son, who got married and no longer lives with me, said the only way he could manage to struggle through it - and agrees it DOES take an inordinate amount of time--for just ONE load, he has to put the settings so that it washes in Deep Water even if small load. He sets Rinse, to 2 Rinses. He sets it to Soak even if the soil is light. Even then, it still makes noises, starts and stops, has to be adjusted several times during Drain & Spin. Last but not least, the noxious odor: OMG! I left one batch of laundry in the machine, with the lid open, as it was very late so figured Id dry them next morning. Some hours later when I went back to shake them out and put in clothes dryer, they smelled so awful, I had to wash them all over again! In fact, Ive had to follow my sons admonition to leave the lid up AT ALL TIMES unless actually washing in order to keep down the stink. I washed my last load with Baking Soda added to wash cycle in an attempt to lessen the odor and get laundry cleaner. Someone here wrote - in their review - that there should be a Class Action (Law) Suit filed against Whirlpool. I AGREE!!! And I want to opt IN on it. There are several law firms that advertise on t.v. that specialize in Class Actions. It would take some time and paperwork but will not cost us anything unless we win the case. Then the law firm gets a percentage. I am willing to work with one more others here who truly want to settle out this problem. I cant believe 2,000 (and thats only here), people are willing to eat hundreds, thousands of dollars of worthless, mind-gripping, rubble such as we have spent our hard-earned money. Other manufacturers recall their defective merchandise and/or replace it, or make arrangements with the retail stores who carry it to make amends, free repairs, whatever it takes to make dissatisfied, disenfranchised customers, whole. We paid for these demons from hell and we deserve to get an equivalent in merchandise (that works properly) or services. That is how it is done here in the U.S. For the life of me, I just cant comprehend why Whirlpool has been allowed to continue selling this junk--why no entity or person or lawsuit has stopped them! As I said, I am willing to work with a core group who is serious about filing a Class Action (Law) Suit against Whirlpool. It may be that the retail stores would be included as well; however, that is a matter best left to the discretion of whichever law firm we select to represent us. For those of you here who do NOT wish to be included, do not worry; you are not being pushed into anything. The way Class Actions work, you have the choice to opt IN (be included to receive your pro-rata share of what is collected). Or you are completely free to opt OUT. By opting out, that means you do not wish to be part of the Class Action and therefore, you will not be included nor will you receive any portion of the recompense collected via the Class Action. Just for your information, though: You are allowed, by law, to bring your OWN lawsuit against all or some of the same parties. The most common reason for opting out, is if you have suffered an extra large financial loss and prefer to file your own suit in order to collect ALL recompense; whereas, sometimes - in a Class Action - the individual plaintiffs may not recoup the total amount they feel they have lost. If you DO decide to opt out and go on your own, realize you will be fully responsible for lawyer fees (although you CAN add them into the balance you are seeking in your suit. Settlement of your claim may or may not include lawyers fees.) Good Luck to all. To those who wish to file a Class Action with some of the rest of us, please contact me if you want me as part of the core group of plaintiffs.

I purchased a 50-gallon Whirlpool natural gas water heater (12 year warranty) from Lowes approx 2.5 years ago. Just before Thanksgiving, the pilot light started going out once a day, then twice a day. Now, I can light the pilot light in Pilot mode but as soon as I release the red button, the flame goes out. I called Whirlpool and received phone troubleshooting support resulting in a recommendation to pick up a new thermocoupler from Lowes which I did. While searching for someone to install (unfortunately Im not that handy), I ran into the thousands of complaints filed about the very same problem Im having over a number of years and right up to todays date. I called Whirlpool back and got the same song and dance. Theyd be happy to help me troubleshoot if I can get the required meters etc. to test devices, do draft tests, etc. They claimed the problems were fixed with the newer model that I have but certainly cant explain why I have exactly the same issue. What they are not willing to do is stand behind their product and get me hot water. Tried calling Lowes and got the response that I have to deal with Whirlpool. It appears that this newer BFG model is just as flawed as the older model and the warranty is pretty much worthless other than getting a few parts. I used to think that Whirlpool products were reasonably good, however, I will never purchase another.

Then a little over a year later, the machine is making this extremely loud piercing noise when spinning. The cost to replace the part is $250.00+ the repairmans fee. Whirlpool says there is nothing they will do. From reading the other reviews, this is really sad because of the numerous people having the same issueS with a capital S. I definitely would support a class action suit.

The Cabriolet washer and dryer act funny. I really believe its because they are digital... Didnt they realize that at some point moisture would affect controls? Idiots! And if a cycle is stuck, you cant manually move it forward or backward... you know, how the standard machine works... yeah the one with knobs!! Sometimes computers are not necessary and this is one of them... too damn advanced!! Id rather have a good old American washer. Not worth it. I get a better wash at the laundromat. # pissed.

Oven was just about 3 years old when the oven bake feature failed the first of many times! Display says fault detected. Was able to get oven cleaning done and then it worked again but eventually has failed repeatedly since. Further reading and support from technicians has revealed its an oven control issue and replacement part is same cost as new oven! Apparently the oven control Whirlpool designed and installed cant handle heat!?? Very unreliable and would never buy their appliances again!

We bought a dishwasher, stove and refrigerator last month. Dishwasher and stove work great, however the refrigerator is junk! The freezer part works great, but the refrigerator doesnt cool at all. The first time he was here the repair man said the seal on the door was bad and he glued it. He told us to not open the door for 48 hours then everything would be fine. IT WASNT. A week and a half later he came back. He looked inside, scratched his head and told us, “This model should have the “deluxe” fan and I dont think it does!” Said he would be back in 6 days with the fan and well “see if that fixes it”.I called Whirlpool service waited on hold for an hour before getting cut off. Called back waited 35 more minutes but actually got to speak to someone. The big solution... They offered me a 6 month extended warranty!!! Ive lost an entire refrigerator full of food. Missed two days of work and am going to miss another when he brings the “deluxe” fan. Also been eating out all month and probably spent $100 buying ice. IE... MOST EXPENSIVE REFRIGERATOR EVER!!!

I bought my Cabrio Platinum Washer and Dryer in 2013 (4 years old). About a month ago, it started sounding like an airplane was landing in the house while on spin cycle. I called a repairman and he said the bearings were going bad and it would be better to buy a new machine. When we pulled out the washer, there was grease all over the floor - apparently a seal started leaking and the bearings had no grease so they started burning up. I talked with Whirlpool, after all it was only 4 years old and a seal leaking and burning the bearings up wouldnt be from normal wear. They were not convinced and offered to give me a discount on a new one -- No Way! I went with another brand recommended by the repairman. The screws on the dryer door also came out and we had to replace them. So much for the Whirlpool brand and especially their top of the line machines. I will not buy another Whirlpool washer or dryer.

I wanted a new oven and I was told no. Parts came in. Repairman came out and nothing worked. Waiting, waiting and waiting. I will never ever purchase a Whirlpool appliance again. This is not my first bad experience with them. I thought maybe they got better but that did not happen.

This Cabrio washing machine is really frustrating....... It goes off balance all the time. It does not matter if you have a full load or partial load, I know it has a tendency to go off balance, so I try to put the clothes in evenly. BUT it doesnt matter, it goes off balance. When the washer is downstairs, it gets to be a pain. The lid lock is a pain also. If you forget to put something in the machine, you hit pause button then you have to wait forever until it unlocks, and wait forever to unlock when it goes off balance. When it doesnt go off balance, it washes everything just fine. But if I knew what I know now about it, I would have never bought it....... I would recommend a different washer and check the reviews, which I didnt do. :(

Own Whirlpool GB2FHDXWS04 refrigerator for 14 months. From the beginning, the ice maker made gross tasting ice and never got better (had to start buying ice). Then a smell started coming from the fridge every time the fan came on. We called before the warranty was up and talked to Whirlpool, and they said that we must have put something smelly in the fridge that caused the plastic to absorb the smell (which we didnt). They told us to put baking soda in and change it everyday. No change. They kept telling us there is no way it could be giving off a smell for any other reason and if they sent a tech out, we would have to pay for it. Trying to intimidate us until the warranty was up. Then after a month or so, the bottom mount freezer starts leaking water all over the wood floors every 3 days. At first we turned off the water line, but then realized it is coming when the freezer defrosts. One good thing, the freezer, from the beginning, knocked really loud and now that its leaking it doesnt knock. We spent $1,200 just over a year ago and will probably have to go purchase a new one now. I will tell you it will never be another Whirlpool product. Whirlpool has not apologized or done anything but say, Now your warranty is up, you should have bought the extended warranty. Great customer care! With all these same complaints, you would think Whirlpool would figure the problem is their inferior product (which they know) and actually take responsibility.

I bought a Whirlpool over the stove microwave. It was to replace a GE that was over nine years old. 40 days after purchase and installation the plastic started chipping and peeling. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and was told that it was a cosmetic problem and my warranty stated that I had thirty days of warranty on cosmetic problems. This was a problem because chipping and cracking didnt happen within 30 days. The chipping and cracking continued to get worse. I again called customer service because the warranty stated that workmanship and bad parts were covered up to one year. I was told that because it was over my stove that this was to be expected. I thought this was a dumb answer because had I known that an over the stove microwave would have problems from cooking I would have installed it in my living room over the television. I called customer service several times. One of the times I called I talked to a representative who actually acted as if she wanted to help me. She suggested sending an e-mail with pictures and gave me an e-mail address. I did this and got no response. I was getting close to the warranty expiration date. I called again and was told that pictures wouldnt work; I would have to pay to have a serviceman come out and write a statement saying that it was not cosmetic. The cracking and chipping is so bad that I cant clean parts of the door because the cloth or sponges catch on the cracks. The door on the GE microwave did not look as bad after nine years of use as the Whirlpool does after 1 year and 8 days of use. I am not the smartest person in the world but I know the difference between poor quality material and workmanship as opposed to cosmetic problems. Im pretty sure that if my wife put her makeup on and pieces of her face started cracking and falling off she wouldnt want to hear that it is not a real problem its only cosmetic. Bottom line is I am very dissatisfied with the poor customer service and warranty problems I have experienced. I will not buy another Whirlpool product and would strongly suggest to others to buy any brand but Whirlpool.

I purchased the extended warranty plan through Assurant and, fortunately, have not had to pay a dime for these repairs, but I should not need to keep repairing the same parts continuously. Either the replacement parts are bad or the service technician is terrible and doesnt know what hes doing or Whirlpool makes such poor products that they are not meant to last. There is NO lemon law for appliances and the decision to replace appliances is the decision of the Assurant Warranty Co & they won t replace it and even if they did it would be with a used refurbished gas range. Why would I want someone elses refurbished piece of junk when I already have a repaired piece of junk?!

My Whirlpool Dishwasher Model# DU980QPDP, just quit a few days ago after 21 1/2 years. We paid $554.04 for it back in 1995. It was the top of the line. Quiet, with 4 fold down shelves on the top rack. Silverware basket on the door. Also a separate knife basket on the door. It came with extra interchangeable door panels. When the white ones got dented we changed to the black ones. The racks are still in good condition. Never had one repair on this dishwasher, though I used it every day, sometimes twice a day. It had a 4 year warranty on the control panel and a 20 year warranty on the tub and door. We would have it repaired, but cant get the part.

I went over to take a look and saw black smoke and flames coming from the little vent area at the lower right corner of the control panel. I opened the door to stop the machine but the washer kept going throwing water all over the floor. I shut the door and ran and turned off the breaker and then unplugged the cord from under the sink. Two different repair service companies said they would be hesitant to try and repair it due to possible unseen damages. I was lucky that I was home when it happened. Two years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine from Sears. All of a sudden, it was making sounds in the spin cycle that sounded like a jet airplane taking off. It was terribly loud. We called repair technician, which cost $90, only to find out that the bearing is gone and its going to cost over $500 to fix it. This is absolutely ridiculous! We expected it to last several years, only to find out that we would have to spend almost as much as the washer originally cost in order to fix it. We paid $700 for this machine, two years ago, and I can say that Ive never been more disappointed with a product in my life. My previous washer lasted thirteen years, not to mention my dryer and stove fifteen years, with minimal repairs. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. I have read some other complaints on this consumer affairs website, as well as other sites, regarding this same washer with the same problem on the bearing and cost to repair. If anything, I think Whirlpool should make good on this product and offer something regarding a recall or payment for repair in some form. As far as Im concerned, I will alert everyone I know about Whirlpool appliances and advise them not to purchase it. Now, I either have to pay over $500 to repair my washer or go buy another one. I do not even want this Whirlpool appliance in my house when I can get a washer for cheaper than the cost to repair it.

I had my kitchen remodeled and purchased a Whirlpool built in electric microwave and lower oven combo (Models WOC54E and WOC95E). I selected this product because it had the right dimensions for my kitchen and I thought Whirlpool was a quality brand. Well I was completely incorrect about the latter point. Within just a few months, I noticed a drip line in the microwave door, between the outer and inner panel that could not be accessed to clean. I barely used the appliance and had no explosions in the unit that would account for this unsightly stain. When I called Whirlpool, they told me that cleaning and resealing the microwave door was not covered by warranty, and if I fixed the problem, then I would invalidate the warranty on the appliance. I had no choice but to live with this drip line, which has now been joined by others. I can think only that this is caused by condensation and that the door is permeable to moisture. Then there is the oven: When it is in use and for at least 30 min after, the fan on the unit is deafening. Not just a little noisy, but really loud. This is my first experience with Whirlpool and its products, and I would NEVER purchase others. They are not inexpensive and are clearly of substandard quality. The fact that Whirlpool is prepared to put a defective product on the market and then not be prepared to fix problems with the unit is appalling. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

Ice maker stopped making ice. This side by side Whirlpool refrigerator was purchased 4 years ago. We called Whirlpool. An authorized repair man identified the problem. At the bottom hinge of the freezer door two of the wires have been broken. A defective design, but no recall from Whirlpool. The solution is to replace the entire freezer door for a cost of $1200. Ridiculous that a replacement door cost more than the purchase price from Lowes. It would appear that these 2 wires could be reconnected, but Whirlpools only solution is an entire new door. I had purchased fully automatic top loaded WHIRLPOOL WM 360 BW PRO-HS 9.5 on 08/05/2019. I had purchased the above machine after going through the various claims made on the website. However, I regret to say that since installation I find that the performance of the machine is not up to my satisfaction. Even after two visits by the engineer, the following issues remain:(i) The machine makes lot of noise in the initial stage.(ii) Though the timer shows a particular time during selection of a washing cycle, in reality the machine takes one and half times more than the timing shown. In case one selects warm / hot water, the actual time taken is twice that shown or more. I am sure in winters it will take more time in case warm / hot water is selected.(iii) The clothes get badly entangled during wash.In the past I had a LG front loading washing machine which never gave me any problem. I had gone for the best top loading model of Whirlpool hoping for better performance but it has only caused problems. Not worth the expenditure.

We purchased a new Cabrio top loading washer in June of 2011 to replace a Maytag Neptune (thinking at the time that wed gone as low as possible). We didnt abuse the machine. In fact, because it had a tempered glass lid (in a plastic frame), we were careful with the lid on the machine. It broke during a wash cycle. Because its heavy, the lid has spring supports on both sides; these are stronger than the plastic frame and over time the frame will break, rendering the machine inoperable. The discounted price for a new lid is over $200, and Maytag (I mean Whirlpool) tells us that it lasted through the 365 day warranty, so the bill is on us. It may be green when it works, but taking 18 month appliances to the landfill is not very green. And others on the web report say that the lid only lasts a year or so. The ratings scale needs to have negative values. Id give this appliance a -5.

Fifth call: requested a supervisor (Kimberly) who took the order for the remaining glider and all hardware. Received second glider and (1) screw when two are needed.Sixth call: asked rep Brigitte for a supervisor and was not connected. Given the run around and told that the rep spoke with a supervisor for me and would send out a repairman to assemble the unit. I just need the missing screw. I have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get what I need from Whirlpool and do not have time to wait for a service repairman to come out. My Whirlpool Duet washer was purchased on August 2006. The first one had to be replaced as it flooded my laundry room on the first floor and the basement – not once but twice. When I was told that they would send yet another service person out to try and fix it, I told them it would be at the curb and that I was looking forward to filing a lawsuit. Then after being on hold for forever and getting the company that sold me the unit involved, they replaced the washer at no charge. From day one I hated this washer machine. If you failed to take the clothes out immediately after washing, they would get a musty type odor and I never felt the clothes got cleaned enough. Yesterday, I went to empty a load of laundry and it was soaking wet with water pooling in the bottom of the barrel. Today, I had a certified Whirlpool tech come and look at the washer and he told me to put it at the curb as the rear bearing is shot and needed to be replaced. He also told me not to buy another front loader and the cost of the repair would be approximately $800.Thank you to Whirlpool for manufacturing a true hunk of crap that, may I say, cost me $1300. I will make sure I tell everyone I know that your products are crap and I would rather wash my clothes by hand. I did call the WP customer service number and was told that this is unheard of and that these machines rarely have any problems. After just reading multiple complaints of the exact same problem, I now know that this product is inferior and the design of the bearing assembly is seriously flawed. A major recall is probably in the near future and Whirlpool is hoping that most people will just dump them before the recall is made public.

We purchased this one (Wall Mount Model # WMH76719CS) on July 30, 2015. About one month ago I started noticing that a simple large cup of water to make tea or instant coffee takes more than 2 minutes on power 10 to heat up enough. It used to take about 1 1/2 minutes. Now, Im no mathematician, but I believe thats about 25% power loss in 6 months. The same applied to any convection dinner Ive tried to cook lately. Im going to say that Im dissatisfied with the convection feature and would rather just bake the silly food in the regular oven as usual. Any planned-overs trying to re-heat is taking much longer as well as melting butter. I do not have much confidence in Whirlpool microwaves right now, and may never again.

Ive had my Whirlpool water heater for almost 4 years now and for the last year and a half, I had to have the pilot light lit at least 5 times. I know several friends and family who has had their tanks a lot longer with no problem. My problem is its a crappy Whirlpool brand with poor customer service.

I bought a Whirlpool water heater not even 3 years ago, and I am already replacing parts; thermostat, thermocouple, and as of yet, no fix. We contacted Whirlpool, and they said that everything has been tried, and if the thermocouple doesnt fix it, well have to hire a plumber at our expense. Its kinda ridiculous. The water heater that we replaced, had been in the home for almost 17 years. This one didnt even make it to 4.

I purchased my range, model #WEG730H0DW0 in April 2016. I am extremely dissatisfied with the product and the Whirlpool service. I guess its comforting to know that Im not alone. Ive had two problems so far. The first is with the broiler that clicks on and off. It took several visits and a new electrical board for the service person and me to figure out that the door has to be closed to broil. Not sure about all of you but I am used to keeping the door cracked open to be able to keep an eye on the food being broiled. Apparently there is a thermostat at the front of the oven designed to keep the electrical controls from getting overheated or from melting so when the door is cracked open the heat from the broiler hits that thermostat and the broiler is shut off.The people at Whirlpool are awful and rude. I made so many calls and described the problem in so many ways and not one person knew about this newly placed thermostat or thought to ask about keeping the door closed. It took me and my service tech over an hour of troubleshooting on his SECOND visit to figure it out. He looked up the specs and we figured it out. I wonder how many new electrical boards have been replaced when the solution is as simple as keeping the door closed. A stupid design. Also having the same problems with the knobs. They turn so easily that twice I have smelled gas and realized one of the knobs was turned ever so slightly (before the clicking sound to ignite the stove). Then the third time could have been deadly. I had friends come pick me up and we stood in the kitchen for a bit before we left for the entire day. When we returned the whole house smelled of gas. Someone inadvertently must have brushed up against the stove and the knob turned. My dog, thankfully is still alive and so are we. THIS IS NOT ONLY A STUPID DESIGN BUT A POTENTIALLY DEADLY ONE!! I am forwarding this message directly to Whirlpool in the hopes of getting my money back. I am replacing the range immediately and will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

My review merely echoes the other 1-star reviews Ive read below, but Im including it anyway. We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes in 2013. Two weeks ago, a mere five years after purchase and shortly after our warranty expired, it broke. It kept showing the UL code and took multiple cycles to wash the clothes. Unacceptable. We called the technician; he came out; told us it was the bearing that busted; and quoted us $800 to fix it (I noticed below another customer was quoted $400 for the same issue). We told the technician thanks but no thanks and purchased a $450 Samsung washer. Our family will never purchase any Whirlpool product again. From their customer service to the performance of their machines-- its all very much lacking.

This washing machine is terrible. It barely cleans my clothes and frequently gets off balance. I am now on my second repair call in less than 3 years. (I bought the unit in the summer of 2013. It is now the winter of 2016.) The last repair guy tried to blame me, suggesting that I was filling it too much and with heavy materials. Last night, I washed 5 or 6 doggie towels. Not even large, bath sized towels. And the whole thing just stopped. It wont spin and wont unlock. What a piece of crap.

I purchased a new Whirlpool washer and dryer (model number WED9250WR0 #WFW9250WR00). The washer broke after about 2 months. They took my washer and gave me some off brand one, because I purchased a 5 year extended warranty. They kept my washer for over 3 months, saying that the manufacturer takes that long to get the parts in. Its ridiculous! The tub, seal, and some other parts had to be replaced. It was shredding my clothing and my bedding. The first time they fixed it, a couple days later, it started making a horrible noise. The repairman came out, and a part had fallen off inside, so he put it back on. It kept happening, so I called them back, and he taped the part on!About 2 months later, the seal started shredding, and so did my clothing. I called again, and they had to replace the seal again. It still sounds off balance, and they said that was normal, because of the give in the floor. The day they fixed the seal, I washed a childs sleeping bag, and it shredded it too! I called again, and they refused to replace it, and they want to come and look at it again. My dryer lint trap seal also keeps coming apart, and I have gone through 3 of those in less than 8 months. They said they are just made poorly, so it will keep happening. I just want my money back, and buy a different washer and dryer somewhere else. I had an old pair that I bought, used, and they lasted me 5 years with less problems than these that I paid two grand for.

We purchased the Top Loader Cabrio in 2006 for $1100. About 1 yr. later it just stopped, but was covered under a recall. A year later it stopped working again and cost $400 plus we bought a 3 yr. service contract for $350. A few months after the service contract ended, the spin cycle got very loud and it started leaking grease and water. It now need a ball bearing and $600 of work. So now we spent almost $2000 for this washer in 8 yrs. Our Maytag was $400 and lasted 15 yrs and we gave it to someone else who is still using it and we never had it repaired. It sounds like Cabrio customers have been complaining about the same issues for several years but they keep recurring and Whirlpool is doing nothing to correct them. We are not putting more money into it after reading all the complaints. We are buying another washer and another reliable brand. I would have been a customer for life because I did like the way it worked and cleaned, although I hear so many people had problems with that so I am not waiting for that to fail too. And I recommended the Cabrio to several people who bought them and now I hear they are starting to have problems. You should stand behind your product and correct these problems and recall or fix them at a reasonable cost.

I had a kitchen fire in 1999. All appliances were replaced with Stainless Steel Whirlpool. My old fridge was an 18 y.o. Whirlpool and still works fine in the garage. My old above range microwave was 12 y.o. and worked fine, I should have kept it. I had to replace my new Whirlpool Microwave after 4 years and 4 repairs. (Main Power Diode kept failing). Now my Whirlpool Gold fridge is not defrosting, even the freezer light switch is frozen. This French door freezer also seems to have less capacity than my old upright freezer. The retailer seemed sympathetic and pathetic. They would not budge on repairs. I told the contractor that did the rehab on my house what happened, he said he would stay away from Whirlpool and that retailer.

The problem started with an error code F3F1 on dryer. Called A & E Factory Service who is company that are certified Whirlpool technicians. They have been out 7 times, March 26, April 1, April 8, April 13, April 27, May 5 and May 12. During those times they ordered and replaced the main control board 3 times and a thermistor for which we paid for parts and labor. The company now says they think we have a lemon and we are supposed to hear back within 48 hours whether we are going to be refunded a total of $504.48 we have advanced for repairs less the service call. They referred us back to Whirlpool and said they would no longer come out as the dryer cannot be repaired! Talked to Whirlpool customer service that says we didnt have an extended warranty and there is nothing they can or will do. This dryer was purchased on 12/31/11. They took the position that because there is no recall for defective parts for this model, there is nothing they will do. Attached is our purchase receipt and all service invoices regarding this matter.

3-4 years ago, I had replaced my hot water heater with a Whirlpool, which was purchased at Lowes. On 10/23/11, I awoke to a flooded basement from the said water heater. When I entered the basement, I was able to verify that the water was spraying right from the casing of the unit. Who knows how long it had been spraying, but the place was a complete mess. The water was about 10 inches deep and many things were ruined. I proceeded back to Lowes and purchased another exact unit. This morning I awoke to the sound of what seemed to be water bubbling, only to enter the basement and see exactly what I saw just three weeks previously... another flooded basement from water just pouring out the side of the unit. This is an obvious defect in craftsmanship. Now I find myself with a flooded basement, no hot water, and a decision to make. Do I fight for another replacement or give up on the brand? A replacement water heater will solve my lack of hot water but for now, the question is for how long? Not to mention the cost and time spent with the clean up I did twice.

I have had to have 2 service calls in the past month. On the second one I was told the compressor needed to be replaced. To start with, the ice maker drips non-stop. I have to check it several times a day to make sure its not puddling up and running my hardwood floor. Because of the continuous that, drip, freeze cycle, it creates an ice dam around the rubber boot between the ice maker and ice bin....which they located in the door where there is inadequate cold, so the cubes melt, making even more of a mess, causing it to be unable to dispense them because it is one big mass... oh and that creates an ice dam also, so on top of replacing a torn boot a couple times a year I have to chisel out the ice bucket and defrost it once a week.Want more? The ice tastes horrible. I have no idea why. It didnt in my last refrigerator. The Tap water tastes fine, I disconnected the line running in to the ice maker and tried the water from there and its fine. So somewhere in the ice maker, something is wrong. There is more. The unit is a year old and now inside the refrigerator it smells like gamey shrimp. I have no shrimp in the freezer, fridge, not have I. I dont store anything in poor sealing containers, nothing has spilled, I removed all drawers, panels, shelves and scrubbed the whole inside with bleach/water. I changed every filter, checked the drip pan (clean), and still half-rotten shrimp smell. My last refrigerator was an Amana from 1986. I bought it used in 93 and owned it until I got this Whirlpool. Never had a problem with it. I have had non-stop problems with this over-priced Whirlpool and I guarantee it is the LAST Whirlpool product I will ever own.

We bought a house almost 10 years ago and it included a Maytag washer and dryer. About 5 years ago, we decided to buy the Whirlpool front loaders. What a mistake as the washer shook every time it ran. After several warranty service calls and days of vacation waiting for the service, they finally said they couldnt do anything. During that time I had been in contact with Whirlpool and asked for them to take them back. Of course they wouldnt. I asked for a swap for top load washer and they would need to also replace the dryer to match: still no deal. It took a letter from a lawyer to make it happen. They also bought back the washer and dryer stands which covered the lawyers costs. So shortly after I received the Cabrio washer and matching dryer, the lid is very heavy which I believe the lid spring broke. I refused to call the service company as I did not want to go thru that crap again. I also know I can fix it myself easier and without all the drama. I keep waiting for another failure but so far all is acceptable. Whirlpool is not the same company as they were when I made my living doing warranty service for Whirlpool! 30 years ago they were the best in the industry. The Maytag pair was giving to our relative and they are still working flawlessly. Unfortunately Whirlpool now owns Maytag. This experience has cost Whirlpool replacing our kitchen appliances. As much as I want to buy American, I will go with Bosch or LG only.

In October of 2014 we purchased our beautiful Whirlpool WRF990slam00 refrigerator from Lowes. We were super happy to have this big beautiful piece of equipment in our kitchen. From the start it ran a little loud but we were assured that this was normal. It seemed to function pretty well until 3 days after the one year warranty ran out. First thing, opened fridge door to a waterfall. Ice machine apparently was no longer working and 2 days later the fridge and freezer both stopped working and blowing warm air.Everything in the fridge and freezer had to be thrown out. I started making calls on November 2nd to see if Whirlpool would stand behind their $2,000 product and make good on repairs. It is now December 17th and we are still without a fridge. Not sure right now what is happening and I am afraid to call as I am sick to death of the whole thing. All I want is a fridge that works! Not too much to ask after spending $2,000. I am saving you the gory details as it would take me 10 pages but I have made SEVERAL calls. I hope to have Whirlpool step up and do the right thing but, I am not going to hold my breath.

We had Whirlpool techs come out and were continually unable to fix the issues. Eventually they told them that it was not broken, even though one tech told us it definitely was. We purchased a Whirlpool gas range on 12/3/11. It was to be delivered later that month and days before delivery we received a call the stove was damaged. They asked if we wanted it and could get it at a reduced price. We said no, we wanted a new one and that one was delivered on 1/4/12. This stove has had many service calls to fix the ignite for the oven. The ignite and a circuit board for this problem has been replaced many times. The smell of gas in the house is terrible from the many times you try to light the oven. This problem has happened many times when a family event was going to be done (Thanksgiving, making Christmas cookies). It is also very poor advertisement for the company and stove to have this happen when there are so many people around. They will have a tendency to spread the word by mouth. PS: When we called (12-13-13), the woman stated after 4 calls for the same thing there should be a replacement or a refund of money (All the calls have been for the same thing OVEN IGNITE and GAS SMELL).

We purchased a new Whirlpool water heater April 2013 at Lowes and every 3-4 months the pilot would go out. My husband would simply re-light the heater, I guess he didnt think it was a big deal. However, in September 2014 the water heaters pilot went out and would not re-light, so I contacted Whirlpool about the warranty. It took 4 telephone calls (two of which involved a plumber, per Whirlpools request), and several days of cold showers for an authorization code to purchase a $8 part (thermo coupler). The hassles that Whirlpool put me through, no one should have to endure. Who ever heard of a technician telling you that they have to talk to the plumber, when you call them to explain a problem with your water heater, such as, the pilot will not stay lit and the plumber said it is the coupler (I couldnt remember the whole name of the part, but surely they should have understood what was wrong). Secondly, providing a plumber (unless youre married to one) to converse with them involves more money. Now I have a plumber at my house so I call Whirlpool and this technician insists that the plumber perform a test on thermo coupler to make sure that it was faulty before she gave the authorization for a new one. Yet again, when I called to Whirlpool with the plumber, while I was voicing my problems in resolving the issue of my water heater with this technician, and she just hung-up on me. So as not to be defeated and having already invested in the expense of the plumber, I called Whirlpool again and requested a manager. The technician asked if she could help and I informed her of my previous encounters. She apologized and took my information to have a manager to call me later; however, she did give me the authorization code for the thermo coupler without delay. When I went to purchase the part, I didnt have the old part (as trade; the plumber hadnt removed it), so I paid for it out-of pocket, to return the old part later.

SKU: 6313774. Paid over $1,000.00 for it. FIRST TIME washing our sheets, we had snags & rips. I immediately called and was referred to Whirlpool and then referred to an outside repair company. They sent a technician out who said everything was functioning properly despite having ruined 3 sets of sheets (these were not all washed at the same time & I didn’t realize they were being snagged until making the beds).I continued to use the washer - clothes were fine, but yet again, MORE sheets and now comforters RUINED!!!! I called YET AGAIN after troubleshooting the problem myself and finding that the drain holes in the drum had metal pieces sticking up causing the items to snag & rip. Another day taken off work to stay home for the repair. The repair guy comes out, the part was broken. So now I’m left once again with a faulty washing machine AND no ETA on when the new part will arrive and be installed AND having to take yet another day off work.7 sheet sets, 3 comforters, multiple shirts, & multiple bathing suits RUINED & was told there was ‘nothing they could do!’ I will NEVER EVER AGAIN purchase anything with the Whirlpool logo. It’s JUNK! Just an FYI, this was initiated in May of 2019 and it is now the middle of September 2019 with no fix updates. Who can go months without doing laundry????
