From the day I bought the refrigerator the icemaker has not worked. I have had a estimation of service calls (8) and nobody seems to be able to fix it. Whirlpool mailed me a new icemaker and still the exact problem; water and ice works but the unit still will not cube or crush ice; which by the way is the reason I bought a new refrigerator. My thoughts are I bought a lemon and the entire fridge needs to be replaced.

I purchased a new park model house with Whirlpool appliances. The fridge door is crooked in 2 directions. It is only adjustable in 1 directions. Top to bottom. After 5 months of trying to deal with whirlpool and being told my warranty is void because of adjusting the door according to their manual. They also tell me that warranty will not cover factory flaws which the crooked door obviously is. Whirlpool will never darken my door again except on the way out. Whirlpool sucks!

I bought a Whirlpool water heater 5 years ago and after one year I had to replace the thermocouple every 3 months. Each time I call to complain, they would just send me a new thermocouple. I asked them several times to replace the item and they refused and just continued to send me replacement parts and refuse to honor their warranty. The water heater had some type of defect, but they still refuse to replace the item and did admit on the phone they have records of several parts that they sent.

The washer does clean simple stains. The clothes end up all twisted (sleeves & pant legs). Antiperspirant gets transferred to dark clothing. Large loads do not get clean and the response from Whirlpool was run everything on hot and for longer than normal times. The enviro rating and low water usage claim has resulted in a machine that does NOT fully clean clothes. Look elsewhere and do not buy.

We built a new home at the beach to enjoy our retirement and the builder installed new Whirlpool appliances. As far as we are concerned this was the BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY WE HAD. Our appliances were under warranty for 1 year as usual and after 14 months things began to break. The latest is the ice maker in the French door fridge. After finding the diagnostics test online I ran the test and determined that the whole ice maker needs replaced. This ridiculous since the fridge is only a little over a year old. We even upgraded the fridge to avoid any problems. After talking to the people in our neighborhood we have come to find out that most people here have had trouble with whirlpool appliances.. I am ready to send these to the junkyard and replace them with a reputable brand (LG) that we owned before and were very happy with.. I dont understand if there is all these problems with Whirlpool products why the technical team doesnt fix the problem... Get parts from the USA NOT CHINA!!! My neighbor just told me he had the repairman at his house 7 times to fix his fridge and finally got a new one. Just got tired of the hassle and expense....

We bought a washer in Sept. 2014 and it was used for 4 months before we left and went south for the winter. When we came back in May, we started hearing a loud banging noise so we notified Whirlpool since we were still under warranty. They sent a repairman and he said he needed to take the washer in so he could repair it. They have sent the part out 3 times and they said it was chipped or cracked so another would need to be sent. This has been going on for 2 months that weve been without the washer and today we checked and supposedly another part should be coming. They tell us our warranty is only for parts and labor not replacement. Help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Weve had our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer just over a year. I like them both but then we are having problems with our lid. The first one cracked after 9 months and they replaced the lid. Two months later, the new one cracked and they replaced the hinges and lid again. I assure you we are very careful when lowering and lifting the lid. I do 80% and my husband does 20%, and we are very cautious of it especially after the second one broke. Now, I was just putting laundry in and the third one cracked while lifting the lid. There is obviously a problem, and Im wondering if anyone else is having the same issues. Eventually, it will crack all the way through which will cause the glass to pop up and the lid wont lock. I will not buy anything with a glass lid again!

I am experiencing problems with keeping my pilot lit too. I checked the screen and this is not the issue. I have just returned from Lowes where I purchased the water heater and they informed me Whirlpool supplied kits for this issue and it was widespread. They mentioned a class action and went on to tell me they and all surrounding Lowes stores are out of the free kit and arent expecting anymore. Am I to feel lucky my water heater water didnt fail sooner only to feel unlucky all of the free repair kits are now gone? Lowes provided me with the Whirlpool phone number for help and they have just informed me it will cost me $35.44 plus shipping. I now see how widespread this problem is. This isnt right. I am very disappointed in the handling of this known problem! What is my next course of action?

We have been having white plastic pieces shoot out with our ice the past two days. We have only had this fridge for about 15 months. After reading these reviews; I am assuming when I call the service will be terrible as well as any fees for them to fix it. I sure hope it is under warranty; or I will never purchase Whirlpool products again.

Have had this refrigerator for about four years and its broken down twice. It has rust and stains on the outside which are hard to remove. I have had other refrigerators that have lasted longer and were in better shape.

I purchased a WhirlPool dishwasher in 2016. The primary motor had to be replaced in 2018. WP paid for the part; however, I had to cover the labor, which was expensive. In 2019 the drying element broke. Again, WP will replace the part but leave me to cover the labor. Ive decided to purchase a new dishwasher (none of the Whirlpool brands) with a 5 year warranty. I purchased a Whirlpool 4.3-cu ft top load washer with a stain steel basket, in March 2020. Machine is able accommodate comforters, automatic water level adjust to loads. Washer has an extra rinse and spin feature. Low noise when operating. I would purchase washer again.

I loved the Whirlpool Refrigerator! Nice size and always worked well. Had to replace it after condenser quit working. This current fridge is unhandy in many ways. No light in the freezer and size is too small. Had to fit into existing space, but does not have as much storage space as the KitchenAid that fit in the same space.

These are the worst washer and dryer I have had. I had them for 5 yr and have had repairman at my home 14 times. They still are not fixed. The dryer is so loud you cant hear the TV. Washer squeaks, gets off balance.

Bought the washer from HH Gregg for over $560 12/2012. Turned on power 4/2014 and just heard clicking noises then nothing. Had to get technician. Paid for $75 service charge and waiting for cost of labor and part for the lid lock/latch assembly. I see a lot of complaints with this new machine. I bought a new one BECAUSE I did not want any problems with repairs. Whirlpool is ripping off the consumer passing out this piece of discombobulated metal, wires and electronics. An appliance like this should last AT LEAST 7 years without a problem. I wish there was a class action lawsuit and will be waiting to the day it surely comes.

(Model WTW5640XW3) Whirlpool Cabrio worked Good for 11 months (just after warranty Expired). Replaced capacitor would not spin, hums loudly and smells like burning Plastic. Then about 2 months after that Lid locked, failed, replaced. 7 months then Actuator failed and now looks like the Main board give up. I dont know where The original parts are made but they are Cheap junk. New technology is crap for Washing machines, gears transmission and Solenoids last a lot longer plus they clean your clothes. And belts and solenoids.

I bought a Whirlpool High Efficiency top load washer. It does not get the clothes clean. Dark clothes come out with spots all over them. There is not enough water to rinse out the dirt. It is left on the clothes in spots. I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to wash them to get them clean. I am 74 years old and have used Whirlpool appliances all my life. I have dt3 rental houses I keep Whirlpool appliances in. But I wont be buying any more. I had to call the repair man one month after I bought it. He had to recalibrate the machine. If all you want to wash or maybe rinse out is a pair of slacks or a shirt, it might be o.k. but not a load of dirty clothes. It is just a JOKE.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold from ABC Warehouse in Flint, MI, for $2099.00 before tax and it was delivered on 10/22/2010. Head-liner of inside of refrigerator has a crack about 3-3 1/4 inches long and the refrigerator is running more often. A repair tech came today, 10/14/2011, and did his job fine. He called Whirlpool and they stated to fix it with epoxy? The repair tech is ordering this. I called Whirlpool at 9:00 am right after the tech left at 1-800-253-1301 and spoke to Sherry. I explained everything to her in a very nice manner and she stated that according to the manual, they give us it is for repair only? I said, ok, could I please speak to her Supervisor and she said yes but it will be the same answer. I spoke to her supervisor, Lisa at 9:15 am, she came on talking about the problem and let me talk, I asked her on several occasions are you still there, and she said yes, her words were that Whirlpool only repairs nothing else for the year as per my paperwork (record). I said we dont even get this till after we purchase the item, I mentioned I had a Cabrio Washer and it was junk and had more service calls than any other machine I owned. I have a stove as well from Whirlpool it’s been good so far, I told her with service like this, and them knowing their liners are made of cost cutting saving materials as I have read enough complaints about this on the internet, that Whirlpool is eventually going under and so are the other small shops that do part work for them and their jobs will be outsourced to Japan, China, India and so on, I asked if there was another person higher up than her I could speak to and she said no, they’re not available at this time I snickered and said thats management for you. They have a customer service rep (call center complaints which is Sherry), then supervisor like you (Lisa) then some other management that dont want to talk to you. Way to go Whirlpool. I told her to document that I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and I will definitely tell others and so on, and if we get enough folks to ban them they will leave USA or close and then Sherry and Lisa will be unemployed just like the rest of us in the good ole USA. Poor appliances for folks that can barely afford to make it and if you’re lucky and working like me and you buy something; shouldnt a refrigerator last more than this, and you stand behind your products? I also told her I know some are abused but this was not an abused product from me. It is a Whirlpool ‘cut your cost savings product’, and forgets the customer. Please look at the old appliances, I also mentioned I have an old Amana in my garage that is 17 years old runs great and never had a problem. And I gave her up for this piece of junk Whirlpool. I then told her I will write letters, emails and everything I can think of to ban this make and product. When I purchased this I bought it to last a long time as I had to finance it, and take from our monthly income. I had never had a nice fridge, but heck this is not nice. It’s a joke and the sad part is, I owe over $900.00 still and just got laid off. Thanks to the good ole USA and Michigan, but I will pay it off no matter what cause I pay my bills, and stand behind my name as a good person and citizen unlike Whirlpool. Our long and tortuous experience began in 2013 and continues to this day. But Ill just give the headlines. In August 2013 we bought Whirlpool BTM French Door KFIS20XVMS11 from Lowes. Three years later we learned that model number appeared on the attached recall notice which had been issued just days before our unit was delivered in September. Neither Lowes nor Whirlpool notified us of this recall which described a simple repair to a part that was leaking so slowly that its effects took three years to show up in a destroyed floor and cabinet enclosure that will cost $2981 (and still rising) to repair.We called AIG, the company behind the extended warranty provider, and they responded promptly by dispatching a Whirlpool factory authorized service technician who attempted unsuccessfully to drag the unit from its alcove over the warped, erupted floor beneath. With the refrigerator half-way out of its enclosure, the technician stopped and asked us to sign a waiver of liability. When we refused, he announced that the problem was water damage and he jammed the unit back into place, leaving dents in both doors and the freezer drawer below.We went to Lowes, who strung us along for several months before sending an engineer whose report concluded that the problem was a manufacturers defect (The Lowes engineer and his associate damaged the unit further when they forced it back into place over a floor made more uneven when they removed the pieces of rotted oak shown in the accompanying photo.). Based upon the engineers report, which Lowes said it had no duty to share, we were given a 1-800 number for Whirlpool customer service, with assurance that we would be taken care of. Although we had to start from cold without the engineers report, Whirlpool customer service was initially very accommodating and gave us hope. For a moment, I thought we were going to get resolution. They assigned a case number and we supplied the requested documentation. That was on a Friday in March, 2017.Monday we were surprised to receive a sternly worded notice from the Whirlpool Law Department that a clerk there would be taking over our case. We realized that we were far from resolution. Why did the Law Department intervene? We dont know. We guess it may be because they want to avoid a class action lawsuit on behalf of possibly thousands of leaky refrigerator owners (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air and Amana units were all among the affected). In any case, since January we have been monkey-in-the middle among Whirlpools various departments, Lowes various departments and AIG, with no progress. What do we want? We just want things back the way they were before our leaky refrigerator did its damage and before Lowes and Whirlpool demolished our good as new looking KitchenAid refrigerator in the process of telling us they wont fix it.Footnote: We purchased all new KitchenAid Architect series appliances in August/September 2013, including top of line cooktop, dishwasher, convection microwave, convection oven and a French door cabinet depth refrigerator. Every unit except the cooktop has required warranty service, including five expensive electronic parts replacements. Fortunately we bought extended warranty service from KitchenAid/AIG, who have been terrific to deal with on the parts replacements. I dont recommend Whirlpool appliances but if you are intent on buying them, I do highly recommend extended warranties. As for the value of Whirlpools manufacturers warranty, watch this space. Ill be back with the final resolution.

I purchased a rental home with a Whirlpool hot water heater. In the home inspection, it was deemed to be in good working order. The first day the tenant moved in, I received 3 service calls for no hot water. My contractor told me I needed to replace the start up assembly and it needed to be ordered from Whirlpool directly, as it is not available in stores. When I contacted Whirlpool Customer Service, the operator, Stacey, was rude and unhelpful. She told me that the warranty was void because I was not the original owner, even though it does not state that the warranty is not transferable. She also told me she could not help me order a replacement part without the item number.

Updated on 12/28/2020: I purchased a 28 cu. ft. side by side Whirlpool refrigerator less than 3 years ago (Feb. 18). The icemaker dispenser paddle quit working nearly a year ago and there are no replacement parts supported. Today the ice maker quit making ice. This is crap for a major appliance that youd expect to go twenty years or so. Very dissatisfied. Now two months ago the ice maker dispenser through the door quit working. I replaced the auger motor and that didnt help. Now the parts department says the actuator panels are no longer available. I bought it a year ago and the warranty is not even up and only in about a month the freezer door handle keeps falling off then the stainless steel which probably is fake is rusting too. They replace the handle and the door and the handle still keeps falling off and the doors are rusting again. My GE stainless steel dishwasher and stove are five years old and there is no rust on them. Whirlpool says it is cosmetic and that its not covered under the year warranty. I will never buy Whirlpool again. Awful customer service!

I will never touch the premier Whirlpool Brand Again. This is the two door fridge + drawer freezer, model GI7FVCXWY0After about a year, and I think it lasted this long because the ice maker was off during winter (because unless you use it constantly you have a solid block of ice), after a year it stopped making ice and poured water out from the top of the fridge. Expensive extended warranty came and replaced the Ice Maker, which (about a year later) has just started leaking all over the floor (again).This I suspect was a protest against using all of the ice one day. It froze up, which causes the leak, froze solid items that were in the fridge compartment (and spoiled some items).The other design fault is while the right hand door will stay open, the left will not, it closes. But it does not close properly - just enough to make you think it is closed.Dangle beers in a nearby stream, keep your food in the cellar, dig a deep hole in the backyard, learn to eat all your food the day you buy it, but do not buy this fridge!

I bought my Whirlpool water heater from Lowe’s in 2010 and now 2 years later, the pilot light keeps going out. When I tried to buy replacement parts from Lowe’s, they stock parts for other brands but no parts for the brand they sell. The water heater is junk and Lowe’s is no help. I will not buy from Lowe’s again.

I bought the top-of-the-line Whirlpool top-loading washer and havent regretted it for a minute. This machine washes everything from the most delicate to the most bulky and heavy and does an excellent job of it. It saves about 1/3 of the water my rotary agitator washer used. What more could I ask from a washer. Incidentally, also purchased the largest front-loading electric dryer Whirlpool makes and never have to hold a load of wash until the dryer finishes the last load...a real time-saver.

In April of 2016 I purchased an aqua clean self cleaning oven from Colders Furniture in West Allis Wisconsin. We were told by the sales associate that the oven was top of the line. This was a complete and utter bold face lie. I cleaned the oven for the first time the day after Christmas after having prime rib. I followed the instructions to a T on how to clean the oven. I had to turn the oven on 6 times and scrubbed the oven until my fingers were bleeding, not to mention the enamel on the inside of the oven is completely bubbling. I called the customer care center on December 31, 2016 and the representative basically said I was an idiot and did not know how to cook. They made an appointment to send a technician out on 1-5-2017. Before hanging up the phone the technician informed me that if there was nothing wrong with it that I would have to pay for the call. At this time I became irate and refused telling them that I have not even had the stove for 8 months and that it was still covered under extended warranty. I will see what kind of smoke is blown up my rear end. The technician is sending a new sponge and scraping stick. How about someone to also clean this piece of garbage. My advice is to anyone is if anyone tells you to buy an Aquaclean self clean oven from Whirlpool run in the other direction and do not buy it. Thanks Whirlpool for the garbage and for sending me cleaning products that are not even worth a damn.

The washing machine does not wash the clothes. It does not clean the clothes and goes off balance all the time. I have had it 9 months and waited to write the review to make sure I using it properly and giving it a chance but to no avail. It is awful. It leaves white lines on the dark clothes and does not take makeup stains out of the white towels. Those are just a few examples. The clothes have to be washed sometimes twice to feel they are clean enough. So it is not cost effective and uses more water which is counter productive to the HE.

Purchased a Whirlpool double oven (WGE745COFH) in September 2018. It is now May 2019. After 5 service technicians verified the erratic temperature fluctuations in the ovens, Whirlpool insists that a +25 degree to -25 degree fluctuation in a heating cycle is normal. The motherboard was changed 3 times, and the sensors were changed 3 times, including hard-wiring the last set of sensors. I called Whirlpool and customer service says that is normal. Ever tried baking at a 350 degree setting that fluctuates from 375 degrees down to 312 degrees while trying to maintain a 350 degree setting? I understand there has to be some fluctuation, but either it took a lot of extra time or burned my food consistently. Ridiculous.So, with the help of wonderful people at Lowes (where I purchased the double oven) Whirlpool is refunding my money and Lowes has taken back the slide-in double oven. In my quest to replace it, multiple appliance sellers have told me that all the new ovens having motherboards and sensors have big fluctuations in the oven heating cycles. I find that unacceptable. My husband and other family members have worked daily in an industry where temperatures were critical. They used ovens that could maintain temperature within 5 degrees of set temperature with analog controls. The home consumers are being ripped off with cheap, sub-standard parts making throw away appliances and getting away with it. What do I buy? Havent figured that out yet, but have purchased a countertop toaster oven that bakes beautifully.

Whirlpool front load washer was not working. I waited two and a half weeks for parts. The parts came but they cant fix it. I waited for answer for two more weeks. They decided to replace. After waiting two more weeks, no washer. Its going on eighth week, still no washer. Theres no reason we have to wait so long after paying for the extended warranty in this day and age, and paying good money for the washer.

After seven long years of one issue after another, about once a year replacing one part after another, draining the unit to replace parts, waking up to cold water, I finally gave up and replaced this Whirlpool water heater, model model # FD1H4040T3ENOV unit. Never to buy a Whirlpool unit again. Thanks for the memories.

I own a Whirlpool Cabrio. I wanted a newer technology (no agitator) washer with top loading capabilities. I ended up with a four to five-year lifespan with this washer. The bearings are busted and it leaks water from the bottom. I have followed loading instructions specifically. It will cost about $1,000 to fix so of course, I am buying another washer and a matching dryer.

Whirlpool Gas Water heater purchased from Lowes in 2012. Have replaced two thermal couples and three gas control valves. Will not stay lit! Problems began within six months of purchase. Third gas control valve quit functioning today and Im on my way to Home Depot to purchase a Rheem...Im done with Whirlpool!

My whirlpool Cabrio washer top load had the rust problems, bearing problems, support arms replaced along with the complete drive assembly motor bearings and all the parts. My bearings have failed 3 times since 2009. This machine is junk. Customer service at Whirlpool is a joke. They treat you as if you have had to do something wrong. Finally I spoke with a salesman who said speak with the warranty company. I have the extended warranty which I advise everyone who purchases an appliance to get one. I purchased a Whirlpool WFW9050XW washer in Aug 2011. I have had nothing but problems. Sears sent repair tech 2x; it would work for a couple months and stop. Whirlpool has sent new motor, tub, switches, etc. I feel I bought a lemon and I want Whirlpool to replace the machine.

Have a Whirlpool side by side about a year and a half old. Fridge started getting warm, so when I contacted the Whirlpool co, they informed me and sold me a year warranty to cover what the problem is and anything that would go wrong in the next year. The warranty is through Assurant. After contacting them, I found out they could not have a repairman out for another week. Wasnt happy, but nothing I could do. They found out the compressor was bad, ordered the part which showed up the next day, but could not come out to install it for another week. Getting more upset. Put it in and my fridge was hotter than before. Called and they could not have anyone out for (you got it) another week. The new compressor was bad. Ordered a second one, came the next day, and they put a rush on the repair so I only had to wait 4 days this time. Guess what, it still does not work. Had to wait another 4 days for someone to come out. So tomorrow is the day. We shall see will it be another compressor and another week to put it in? I never heard of any company stretching a repair over a months time. I am so angry with Whirlpool, Assurant and A&E repair company; you just dont know. I would not recommend buying or going through these companies. This is very unprofessional.

I purchased a refrigerator 7 yrs ago. I paid over $1800 on sale for it. Now it needs repairs, it already cost me $89 just to have the tech look at it and he said it will cost $300 to $500 to fix it on top of the service call and now he informs me that it will take at the very least until February or March before he gets the part. I contacted Whirlpool and they told me there is nothing they can do, just to work the tech and I said so Im supposed to go without a fridge for 3 months and was told sorry for the inconvenience. So Im thinking they sell me their product, take my money, then brush me off when I ask for help. That is piss poor way to do business.

I purchased the Cabrio washer/dryer in 2006. We have had it repaired 6 times and I even purchased a two year extended warranty after having issues with it the first year. Now I seem to be in the same boat. The washer will not spin and drain. This has already been looked at by a technician several months ago. I feel like this product is faulty and has not worked properly from the start. Are there lemon laws for appliances? It seems that this product would qualify. I will never purchase Whirlpool again.

Refrigerator ice maker quit working. This is replacement fridge for first refrigerator that quit working same model. This one has electrical burn marks inside behind a panel. Whirlpool says this is normal. How can burn marks inside a refrigerator be normal. If house or fridge catch on fire will be suing Whirlpool. Ice maker and water valve replaced. Still not working. Maybe it has to do with the burn marks.

My ice maker and freezer on my Whirlpool WRF989SDAM00 refrigerator stopped working 3 days out of warranty. Repairs to run around $800. Is Whirlpool making disposable appliances? Theres a reason foreign appliances and electronics are bought in record numbers. Whirlpool is a disappointing Made in America product.

Just had the repairman at my house to repair my 2-year-old Whirlpool refrigerator Model GB2F4DXWS07 - he couldnt fix it. Just throw it away and get a new one. There is a blockage somewhere in the line, he suspects the lines were not cleaned before it was charged at the factory. Repairman said it was a typical 20-year-old refrigerator problem. Customer service was no help - Whirlpool live chat is currently unavailable. Lousy product with worse service. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

Purchased washer and dryer in 2013. After several months I noticed small holes in my clothing. I called for service since my machines were still under warranty. There was nothing the repair service could do except make suggestions on water amount and settings. Which I tried with no improvement. I also contacted Whirlpool and was told I could call for service for several weeks since it was still under warranty. I asked why call for service when I was told it could not be fixed. I did have it serviced again and told it was a problem with the design. Numerous items of clothing were ruined which I showed the technician. He gave me a phone number to contact Whirlpool. They in turn said there was nothing they could do for me. I usually place items in laundry bags for delicate fabrics but for obvious reasons not all items fit in a bag. I have never had such terrible service nor experienced an appliance that operates so poorly. I am surprised there are not more complaints with this problem. Purchased from ABT because of their reputation for customer service.

I purchased a $950 whirlpool refrigerator from Lowes in Tucson. 2 months after the 1 yr warranty expired, I paid $450 in repair bills to have it fixed. After 9 months of visits by the repairman and loss of hundreds of dollars in spoiled food, they deemed my fridge unrepairable. Then Whirlpool called me and said they would exchange my fridge for a better one for $688. My loss is now up to approx. $2000 counting spoiled food.

I purchased Whirlpool gas range with AquaLift Self Cleaning Tech exactly a year ago. DOES NOT WORK!!! The only Self that cleans will be you on your hands and knees. Still dont know what to use. Manual says do not use oven cleaner or abrasive or you void the warranty. Ok Whirlpool any suggestions? Soap and mild detergent not cutting it. You would think with all the customers complaining about this feature the bright engineers that designed this would come up with a solution.

My story begins in August of this year when my wife and I built a new home. The builder provided Whirlpool appliances in the kitchen. The fridge has continually tripped the breaker and after numerous visits from the builders electrician, we finally also had the Whirlpool service technician check out the fridge too. After the control board was replaced, and the interior light housing was replaced, it turns out the wiring harness in the fridge is faulty and is not repairable. According to your customer service team, the fridge will need to be exchanged. I have made numerous calls to the suggested numbers (866-698-2538 & 800-253-1301) to find out the status of the exchange. Each time, I have been told that my file is with the review team, and that if I have not heard from them in the next three or four days, that I should call back again. I have not been able to contact the review team directly myself, as your customer service team is either unable to or is not allowed to share those contact details. So I am relegated to wait and then call back again. I have lost track of the number of calls I have made, and the hours spent on hold because of the high volume of calls or re-telling the whole story. The fridge was determined to not be repairable on November 19th. I am not sure if this is the treatment you intend for your customers, or if this is an anomaly.

Every one of the knobs cracked where they engage the gas valve. One gas valve came loose from the manifold creating a gas leak discovered by the propane company on a system leak test. Screws came loose that hold the tracks to the base for the slide out bottom drawer. The AquaLift cleaning system is useless. Better buy some oven cleaner and rubber gloves. Very disappointed! One star because 0 isn’t an option.

My 3 year old Whirlpool refrigerator costing $1285.86, needs a new motor and fan. Of course it died right after a trip to the grocery store. On a week temperatures were well into the 90 degree range. Needless to say my groceries had to be thrown out at a cost of an additional $250. How convenient that the refrigerator died 2 months after the 3 year protection plan ran out. I just spent $182.94 to have a repair person come and check out the refrigerator. I will need to spend another $170.00-$200.00 for the motor and fan once the parts come in, which can take up to another 10 days. Had to go out and buy a backup refrigerator that cost $562.38. Also had an issue with this refrigerator after a year and half with ice building up in the bottom of the freezer. Luckily we had the protection plan at that time, otherwise that would have cost us $157.58. The refrigerator is stainless steel and I have a terrible time keeping the rust off the front of it. At this point l guess all I can do is warn everyone I know to never buy a Whirlpool appliance if this is an indication of how they manufacture their products. So very disgusted with this refrigerator! Sad my old Frigidaire was close to 30 years old when the freezer just wasnt freezing well anymore. Thats why my new backup refrigerator is a Frigidaire and not a Whirlpool.

I have Whirlpool Washing Machine bought at end of 2012. In 2014, I faced an issue where the washing machine board ics are gone. The services people came and check the replaced a board. It was cost me 6000 Rupees including the service cost. Very next year 2015, again the same issue. Board of the washing machine gone. Now I have to change the board. It seems it may cost more than previous one.I heard that these service engineers are taking the previous my board / replaced board. They are repairing it and sold it again and again so the quality of the board is question mark. As a customer I / we cannot spend money and change board every year. I just want everyone to think twice before you go to Whirlpool Washing Machine & its products. I had a same kind of poor quality issue with even water purifier too. Consequences - I have spent Rs. 10000 already, it is loss for me beside the buying cost of the products.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator to match the other appliances in our kitchen. The unit was purchased in June of 2012. Two and a half years later, it quit making ice and would not maintain proper cooling temps. Not to mention the noise coming from the compressor. So we had a certified tech come out and he said that it was the sealed refrigeration system. He stated that he had seen this issue a lot with whirlpool refrigerators. He said that what they don’t tell you is that it is covered for 3 years but good luck with getting any satisfaction. The cost to fix it you ask? $700.00. Might as well just buy a new one. Took a shot in the dark and called Whirlpool customer service. Gave the girl my information and model number. I got the “Sorry, but your model number is not covered by the sealed refrigeration warranty.” Then I got the ole, “Is there anything else today?” Well, she got the wrong man on the phone this day. I asked her to give me a model number that is covered by the warranty and I will purchase that one. You could have heard a pin drop. I don’t guess she’s been asked that before. She starts to ramble and said, “Well, there are just so many, I could not possibly tell you. Some are and some aren’t.” (Remember that statement) You mean she can tell me that mine was not covered, but could not tell me which models were covered. Huh??? Long story short. I argued with her for an hour on the phone and she finally breaks down and admits that Whirlpool does not warranty the sealed systems on their refrigerators any longer because they are considered value brands. What are value brands you ask? I asked the same thing. I was informed that a value brand is of lower cost to draw people to buy the product. Remember in the movie Back to the Future when Doc Brown said he sold a nuclear weapon to the Libyans at a good price but it was just filled with pinball machine parts? Well, there you go. I get the supervisor on the phone and she has the I’m going to be strict with this customer voice. She basically blames me in the fact that I failed to purchase the extended warranty. You’re right, my fault. How dare I have the nerve to think that a one thousand dollar value Whirlpool refrigerator would last no further than two and a half years? My bad on that one lady. The end result; I was told that I could purchase a new Whirlpool refrigerator and be sure to get the extended warranty. Yeah, why don’t go practice falling down Whirlpool, I’ll be there in a minute. (That was sarcasm by the way).

I brought a water heater from Lowes in 2011 and I had a 6 year warranty on it which will end November 2017. Well now the water heater is leaking and they wont replace it because of the location of the water heater and they saying I need to get a direct water heater. Well what is the use of having a warranty if I cant get another water heater. I will never buy another water heater from Whirlpool! I cannot afford to get a direct water heater.

We purchased our brand new home ten years ago and we were thrilled it had a double wall oven unit that I had always dreamed of owning. Well, the first time I used the self-cleaning mode that dream became a nightmare! The oven was in cleaning mode and I was so happy as I had never had a self-cleaner before! When the cleaning was done, the door remained locked and the control panel was not working. After making sure it was cooled the next day, I called for warranty repair. They came out and fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thinking it was just a glitch and went on with life. Due to my husband’s business, we only live in the house part time as we do extensive traveling. My children are grown, so my cooking is mainly holidays and birthdays when we all get together. Since it is used so seldom, the need to clean is not as often as others might be. The next two times I cleaned it the same thing happened. The third time they came out they informed me that it was getting too hot in the cleaning mode and the steam was going into the computer panel and melting the electrical wire. They also said I would no longer be under warranty and from now on it would be my issue. The next two times I cleaned the oven, I did so the old fashioned way and skipped the self-cleaning. This week my oven started beeping and giving me a code and will not work. I called my trusted repair man and this is what I learned. The computer board is probably toasted. They no longer make the board, so he will have to send it out to be rebuilt. This will take 10 to 14 days and the cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $650.00! Are you kidding me?! How is this my issue? I have checked faithfully every few months, assuming that others are having the same issues, and that Whirlpool would be doing the right thing and recalling these ovens. Stupid me! This last time I had not even used the oven in three days and it still went out? I am old enough to remember when the first place you went to look for appliances was Whirlpool because they were good, they lasted and the company stood behind them. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. From now on they will be the last place I look! I’m not sure what is going to happen, but I can assure you I am not spending $650 to repair this piece of crap!

It works ok and fits in a tight spot. However, the top shelf will suddenly start to freeze the food and after a day or two it will stop. The fridge makes terrible loud banging noises. Were told it is the coolant but it is extremely annoying. A repairman moved the line closer to a heating and it doesnt bang as much. Because of this, I would not buy a Whirlpool fridge again.

Dont buy. Purchased over the range microwave. Service order less than a week after install. Heats unevenly. Burns center of bacon consistently without fully cooking ends. Popcorn pops half the kernels yet Whirlpool says nothing wrong with product. Well within 1 year warranty but had to pay for service call cause Whirlpool determined microwave was operating as manufactured. Laughable! This company does not stand behind their product or their customers. Never again will I purchase a Whirlpool product.

I purchased the extended warranty for my refrigerator and the warranty company sent a technician out to repair my refrigerator. It has been six weeks and 4 attempts and no one can do anything to fix it. The warranty wont refund my money without deductions from the company coming out and fixing nothing and says itll take 2 weeks before I can get that. After mailing in writing that I want to cancel 500 dollars wasted and no one wants to help. Thanks Whirlpool. Ill definitely let all my family and friends know of my experience.

It washes everything well except the interior of the washer. And the filter is a pain also even when we rinse the dishes beforehand. The buttons are a pain in the ** to see without all of the lights on at night.

Oven was just about 3 years old when the oven bake feature failed the first of many times! Display says fault detected. Was able to get oven cleaning done and then it worked again but eventually has failed repeatedly since. Further reading and support from technicians has revealed its an oven control issue and replacement part is same cost as new oven! Apparently the oven control Whirlpool designed and installed cant handle heat!?? Very unreliable and would never buy their appliances again!

I like my refrigerator however is smaller and simple. The performance is great. The value was too much for the size and simplicity of the refrigerator not satisfy on that. Overall is very good and for the size of my family does the work. Im happy with it but will be upgrading in a later time.

Whirpool Product VMW TL WASHER with impeller absolutely is crap. I have it almost a year and it smells, and it noisy like a dog was in the machine and someone started it. Its off balance constantly. I hate it and will place on every blog the worst review I can write. Its a nightmare. It has a fake bleach dispenser a door but no holder underneath. Even the repairman thought the bleach went in the dispenser. My clothes were ruined along with sheets, etc on numerous washes. The bleach partially dispensed on dark clothes at least 8 washes.The washer was purchased at BrandsMart 11 months ago and so theres no returns.

Purchased gas water heater from Lowes in 2012. Had no problems until July 2018. Its under warranty but have had to replace the control valve completely and the burner 5 times and it still is not fixed. Dont waste your money. Buy something else.

We bought a Whirlpool Gold French Door refrigerator in 2010. Just when the warranty period passed, the refrigerator started leaking water from the bottom floor. Initially, it only leaked about once per month. But as time passed, the refrigerator started leaking more often, and now its leaking every 2-3 days. I saw many people complaining on the same problem and some of them even submitted since 2006. I dont know why Whirlpool doesnt resolve this issue in many years.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet front load washing machine Model #WFW9550WL in July 2009. In July 2016, the guide on the door hinge broke, making the machine unusable. When performing a national search for the part number (#8183202) to replace the broken hinge, I found that there were none available anywhere in the United States. When talking to Whirlpool, they indicated that during 2015, they only sold 142 of this part, and were currently looking for a new manufacturer for the part. They further indicated that the part would not be available until late September or early October of this year.

My Whirlpool French Door refrigerator will have its TWO year old birthday on September 15, 2015.. only if it lives that long! On August 8, one month and one week short of its 2nd birthday the compressor died. Of course the manufacturers warranty expired after one year. Thankfully, I purchased an extended warranty through the retailer. While this will cover my repairs, there is nothing that will cover the hundreds of dollars worth of spoiled frozen and refrigerated products which had to be discarded. I will NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT!

My fridge stainless steel doors rusted on after Whirlpool Customer Service told me to buy and use Affresh (a Whirlpool product) to clean them! The fridge was only 12 days old when this occurred, imagine my shock and disappointment. Whirlpool Customer Service reps then sent me another one of their products Whirlpool Stainless Steel Brightener with instructions to clean it every day for 3 weeks and it would resolve the rust problem. It didnt resolve the rust problem. 2 repairmen from different companies have looked at the doors and shook their heads that Whirlpools own Customer Service department recommended a product for a fridge that rusted it and then they take no responsibility for it! Whirlpool knows these stainless steel fridges have the potential to rust. Its listed in their manual. Unfortunately, buyers arent given a copy of that manual to peruse BEFORE they buy the product. I would never have purchased this Whirlpool fridge had I seen that! I have now since read of other Whirlpool stainless steel fridges rusting.

Mid-sized, mid-range dishwasher. It is noisy, not quiet at all, and we must speak quite loud over it if we want to be heard. The wash cycle is quite long... not really a water saver.

I wrote you about this oven. This morning, they replaced the thermostat and then wanted me to self-clean it again. Now it wont work again, so I called Whirlpool and wanted to replace it and it would cost me $1,070 extra. I told them that was not acceptable. I paid over $3,000 for the one I have. Now, I have to stay home again tomorrow so they can replace the same part again. To keep in warranty, I have to replace the part every ninety days if I want to self-clean my oven.

During the initial warranty the oven was not heating properly. Several service calls within the warranty issue was not resolved. Whirlpool extended the warranty another year as of this date and several service calls problem not resolved. When a tech comes out there is a diagnostic check that checks the temp for 10 min. Since the temp drops after 10 min they cannot detect problem. I asked for the tech to remain for the complete cooking period which they cannot do. I have wasted many meals and still have a oven that does not work.

We purchased 6 six appliances for our home just over one year ago. The initial problem with the washing machine literally took ten home visit to resolve with the final solution being total replacement. Far too many days away from work. The laundry appliances have a loud beeping noise that goes off with the slightest contact, annoying and designed to be eliminated or muted. Today we discovered that the water filter in the fridge is single sourced at over $50 with shipping, which seems usurious at best. Will look elsewhere for the next house/purchase and NEVER buy from this company, including their other brands...Kitchenaid, Maytag, etc.

I purchased an appliance package Whirlpool Gold series that included a range, refrigerator and dishwasher. This was approximately 3 years ago. The range has already been replaced by Whirlpool after having it repaired twice and, finally, following the complete breakdown on Thanksgiving with turkey in oven. The refrigerator has broken twice and the computer box that controls all functions was replaced twice. The compressor goes off randomly and is currently off again at the moment. I woke up this morning to this and the temp inside is around 50 degrees. Needless to say the food inside is a loss. I will never purchase any Whirlpool appliance again. These were not inexpensive appliances by the way.

In 2002, I purchased an EE3Z50RD055V 50 gal. Whirlpool hot water heater. Recently several solder joints on the computer module became unsoldered so I cleaned the joints and resoldered them. But several months later another joint became unsoldered so I thought Id just purchase a new module. I called 1-877-817-6750, explained the problem to the young lady. She informed me that they would ship me a new one overnight. I asked her how much this would cost and she told me there would be no charge as it had a lifetime warranty. SURPRISE! Thats what I call customer service! A few years ago, I purchased a Whirlpool Duet front load washer and dryer. Now Im twice as glad that I did. My wife and I LOVE the Duet.

I purchased our brand new double ovens on 9/27/11. I was happy until 11/3/11 when the inside glass exploded, shooting shards of it all over our kitchen during the self-cleaning cycle. I immediately called Kitchen Aides corporate office in Michigan. She said that she could send a technician out to access the damages but didnt see that this was a product issue. Like I dont know how to properly push buttons to self clean! The technician came out the next day and said that he was only authorized to replace the glass, nothing else. He couldnt tell me why it shattered, he thought perhaps there was a bubble in the glass during manufacturing. I said I think it needs a whole new door at the very least, but more likely a new unit. I just paid $3000 for what will be a refurbished oven after one month of use. Today, I called once again to tell them that I am not satisfied with new glass, not to mention my oven is unusable in its current state and still has glass sipping out. I spoke to a woman in their safety committee department, who told me that Whirlpools warranty is replacement of broken parts, nothing more, and since only one pane of glass broke and not the door physically, they couldnt authorize a new door or new oven. Mind you, that we still dont know why it broke, was it just faulty glass or could it be a heating problem? She didnt care, only that they could only repair the glass. I asked if the glass could be overnighted since I have been without an oven for four days now. She said that she had no way of doing that, so I asked if I could speak to the parts department and she said I could not, that only techs could contact them. I asked if she could do anything for me? Could she assure me that it would be fixed within the week? No. Could she assure me that it would be fixed by Thanksgiving? No. Whirlpools policy clearly is that once you purchase their products, they have no intentions of listening to their customers complaints or concerns only to do the very minimum required.

I bought a Cabrio from Costo less than 2 years ago. Dryer so far so good (big barrel with hair dryer so what could go wrong?). Washing machine is HORRIBLE. Lid latch broke (couple hundred to repair). Now out of the blue I get an F2 error & machine is completely inoperable. I am only user & very careful with it. There should be a recall on this expensive junk. NEVER buy Cabrio or maybe any Whirlpool appliances again. Ive never written a bad review btw.

Stove was purchased in June, 2021. Two months later, oven will not heat up!!! Contacts Whirlpool, and TEN days later, a service person finally shows up. Problem appears to be a circuit board that they dont have, and has to be ordered! When will it arrive? He has no idea!!! I called Whirlpool, but its frustrating and a waste of time. You only get to talk to someone that appears to be reading from a script! If were lucky, well be without an oven for one month; however, it could be two...or three...or four!!! My advice: Dont buy this stove/range!!! Not only is the oven an issue, but it just seems flimsy and subpar quality, especially the oven door. Added to that, the glass top is very difficult to keep clean... Worse than any glass top stove weve had in the past.

My Whirlpool range is a great buy and it cooks well. I have never had a brand new range that snaps, crackles, and pops. It was letting me know that it needed to be broken in and used for a while. I have had it for a few years now and it is just now getting broken in well. I do not even smell the brand new burn smell it use to give off anymore. Awesome!!

The pilot light on our hot water heater will not stay lit. We cant find the custom made Replacement Kit at any local retail locations, including a specialty appliance repair store, Lowe’s or Home Depot. So our only option seems to be waiting for the part to come in the mail. Meanwhile, my two little girls have no hot water in their home! Not because we couldnt afford to pay the gas bill, but because of the piece of junk hot water heater that we purchased and the lousy company that stands behind it!

Whirlpool Cabrio. A little noisy, 2 or 3 years, do exactly what the manufacturer says they will do. Start them up, run them, go get the finished product... The previous set, same brand lasted us 15 years and then went on to help someone else. Still have the same dishwasher, Whirlpool, 11 years, no repairs, no breakdowns. Bought refrigerator, and micro-wave also, several years back. No problems, no service calls, no stops.

I bought this stove 4 years ago from Lowes. I have had nothing but problems ever since. My family is now afraid to use the stove and Whirlpool refuses to stand behind their product. The last straw was a bill for a service call that took 6 months to complete without correcting the problem. Whirlpool sent me a bill for $100 to pay for the privileged. When I complained, WP said if I paid the invoice, they would give me a deal towards a new stove. Meanwhile, the old stove does not work and we are afraid to use it, given our experience with its reliability and safety. I plan to return it to Lowes and buy anything but a Whirlpool product. Beware of Whirlpool Maytag anything!! The customer service is shameful!!

The features on the washer is a wider size wash basket, no non-snag agitator with 5 load size choices, 5 water temperature choices, type of wash includes soak, quick wash, normal, deep water, heavy duty, bulky, hand wash, gentle, some other choices Along with a choice to wash your machine, one rinse or two rinses without fabric softener, one rinse or two rinses with fabric softener. And finally a selection for Pre-soak on or off. Also has a 3 light display for what it’s doing, lid lock, pause, cancel and start button. It’s an HE. Clothes come clean.

Purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer (WFW75HEFW0) in September 2017. Have had 4 service calls on washer for not completely washing clothes, leaving excess water after cycles complete, excessive wrinkling of clothes even on non wrinkle clothes, odor on some clothes due to incomplete water fill on some cycles. Factory position since there are no error codes washer is fine. Asked factory to exchange washer and upgrade model which we would pay difference. Denied. Looking for another brand and will seek legal assistance in the matter.

This washer is going back. It simply will not spin the water out of the clothes. It says it gets clothes drier than a conventional washer, but I have not found that to be true. I have to use the drain/spin cycle over and over and still the clothes are wet. I had the repair crew out and they were able to get it to spin out a very small load consisting of two sheets and two towels. Other than that, it does not spin out water. It is also very difficult to load if you attempt to leave the center open as they recommend. The cycles are very long. Not being able to look inside without pausing it and waiting for it to unlock is also a huge hassle. I am getting one with a glass top so I can see what is going on. If you leave it open for too long, it cancels the cycle and drains all the water, and you have to start over which is another problem because all your detergent just got drained out before the load gets going. It uses so little water on most of the cycles that the clothes get totally tangled up with one another. I think you should be able to choose the water level manually. I am all for saving water but if I want more water from time to time, this does not allow you to do that. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

This set of washer and dryer are very simplistic and have few options. They came with the house I just purchased and I think they may be 10 or 12 years old. I cant wait to buy a new set... Very soon!!

Whirlpool makes a beautiful product that does not last. I bought model WRX988SIBM in April 2015. Two years later the compressor is bad and no warranty coverage. Do not buy this model. It does not carry the Whirlpool 2-5 year sealed refrigeration warranty. Its amazing that an appliance that retails over $3K only comes with a 1 year sealed refrigeration warranty when Whirlpool offers it on other models. Be sure you know what your warranty coverage is before you buy any Whirlpool product.

My husband and I have been loyal Whirlpool consumers for over thirty years. When it came time to purchase a new refrigerator, we purchased the GC3SHAXVY00 model. It was quite expensive but we decided to splurge. This was the worst mistake. Let me also state that we have had the refrigerator now for maybe 5 years. Within the first 6 months, the door that is the central operating system for the appliance went out. The appliance was still under warranty at that time, so Whirlpool ordered a new door. The technician replaced the door and left. However, within 15 minutes of the new door being replaced, the entire refrigerator began to shut down, not just the freezer. Fortunately, we had the techs cell and we called him and he came back and put the old door on until he could order another new door. That made three doors in the first 6 months of us owning the appliance. Then, the ice maker started freezing up. We were told just to defrost the ice maker once a month, that this was a problem the company was experiencing with this 500-dollar refrigerator. Then, the water line started freezing so we would have to leave the freezer door open for about half an hour every week to get the line to thaw so that we could get the water to come out of the dispenser. Now, the ice maker has quit completely. Are we going to call a whirlpool tech? NO, what for?This refrigerator has been a true lemon from day one. I have three more Whirlpool appliances that have broken down within 6 weeks of purchasing them. It was time to replace our appliances so we thought we would support our local economy by purchasing Whirlpool. To say the least, that will never happen again. I will be replacing all my appliances with LG from this day forward.

We have always bought whirlpool appliances, and trusted the name. We can put a man on the moon but we cant build a reliable bottom freezer refrigerator. My previous refrigerator was whirlpool. 19 yrs old when it went out for a new whirlpool bottom freezer fridge, 2014 Jan. 14 months after purchase, no warranty. The temp in freezer and upper compartment would increase and stop making ice. At first, we thought it was the icemaker. Repairman NOT FACTORY TRAINED, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.. Came and looked at it said, yep, icemaker. Plugged it in after 4 days. Just like brand new - making ice, not the icemaker. About 4 days later same problem - temp increasing. Called the store where we purchased it, sent the same repairman. He said it was a cooling fan. This went on for 2 months trying to figure the problem. Well, we cant rebuild a refrigerator out of parts it doesnt need, so we called a FACTORY TRAINED TECH who diagnosed the thermostat and defroster in the bottom of fridge taking two screws out and pulling bottom freezer out. It was iced up. Cost to fix it - 522.00. So I called whirlpool corp., explained problem. They agreed to pay for parts if we paid labor, 100.00. This is doable. However, if we continue to have problems after this, we will purchase a top freezer fridge, no ice maker because they constantly break down.

Avoid Whirlpool refrigerators and dishwashers. Fridge sounds like someone’s trying to get out. Repair person said it’s icemaker and typical. Dishwasher has little friction gaskets that keeps the door from falling open. They’ve been replaced twice and found one on floor today. Plastic end of slider for upper shelf keeps falling off repairman replaced it showed me how to put it back on. This falls off regularly. Range has coils underliner of oven. Takes forever to preheat and self cleaner cycle is a joke. Million dollar condo with upgraded crap appliances.

Im yet another angry customer who is dealing with a defective Whirlpool hot water heater purchased from Lowe’s, still under warranty, and it failed. The thermocouple appears to have failed and, amazingly, the part is nonstandard in that it screws in backwards compared to every other HW heater. Lowe’s doesnt carry the part even though they sold the HW heater. When I contacted Whirlpool, they agreed the part is under warranty and will send one, but I have to pay shipping for a minimum of $10 and a week to wait, plus having to get the part installed. Obviously, I am one of many who bought this defective appliance. Whirlpool used to be a good company, but Ill tell everyone to avoid them in the future. Meanwhile, I have no hot water and its freezing in Cincinnati.

I purchased a new Whirlpool washer, from day one it did not work, for the past month I have been trying to fix the problem with service people. The service people were at my house 5 times without any positive results. I was told by Whirlpool representative that they will not replace the washer or give me my money back, they have 12 months to fix the problem. I have never seen such a bad customer service and arrogance towards a customer. I will never buy anything manufactured by this company.

Whirlpool WRF 990SLAM00 - Im 62, I have owned, and my family has owned a number of refrigerators and never have had any problems. I have been used to my refrigerators and major appliances lasting 15 plus years without any problems. I mostly bought Maytag washers and GE kitchen appliances. I had trouble with a GE dishwasher, out of warranty, but GE was very nice about it and came out and fixed it at no charge, then replaced it for free when it failed again. (No new problems in 4 yrs.). Then I made the big mistake of going with Whirlpool products in my new house in Florida, where I live half the year. What a mistake. First there was the Cabrio washer. After 1 yr and a week, It would not go to the spin cycle. I called Whirlpool, they said, Sorry, out of warranty. I told them, I only live in this place for half the year, so I have hardly used the machine. The Whirlpool person said, Sorry out of warranty. I asked for a supervisor and they were worse than the first person. The attitude was screw you, you should have bought the extended warranty. I called a repairman who fixed it for 150 dollars. During the spin cycle it gets really loud, but at least it works. Then the refrigerator. I arrived back in FL and the 1.5 year old refrigerator was not cooling. I called Whirlpool and said I needed a repairman. They said, Out of warranty, you can buy an extended warranty for 345 dollars. I said, No, a refrigerator should not fail at 1.5 years, send a repair man. He was great, but said the unit had a Freon leak somewhere in the box that was un-repairable. He told me, You need a new refrigerator. I will now call Whirlpool and see what they will do for me, but I expect little based on my experience with the washer, and others comments above. I will go back to all GE products after this as at least they seem to stand behind their products. Oh, and since Whirlpool now owns Maytag, as Whirlpool owns them now. Sad.

Very loud when in spin cycle, tub leaking out of the bottom. Bearing is shot. Only lasted about 3 years. It also knots up the laundry, does not remove dirt from soiled clothing.

Our daughter has a Whirlpool Duet front loader washer & dryer combination which is less than 3 years old. The washer shows fault code 71 and will not run or release the door lock. The first repairman said the interface board and/or a computer will need to be replaced. Cost is $600 to $1,000. I called Whirlpool. They recommended their trained tech be called out. He looked at the broken machine and determined the interface board was bad, and he put a temporary repair on the washer and said Its okay to use for now. He will return in 2 weeks with the replacement part. We tried the machine with a load of clothes. The machine filled up with water then quit, and the door was locked. We called to get a tech to open the door so we could retrieve our clothes. No one is available for 1 1/2 week. I called Whirlpool and was told a claim form would be mailed to me so we could be compensated for the damaged clothes. The letter arrived. I was appalled when I read it. First, it came from their Legal dept. The intent was to scare us into getting a lawyer or just use our homeowners insurance for the damaged clothes claim. I called Whirlpool back several times and was told too bad, so sad. Whirlpool might make a good machine; they cant prove it by me but their support rates a big zero.

Purchased 29 cu ft French door Bottom Mount Refrigerator 9/5/2013. The ice machine started leaking continual water by August 2015 and by October 2015 the freezer quit working. Have had it repaired once and the second time the repairman said we need a new evaporator and condenser. Called Whirlpool and they said since it is out of warranty we are on our own. According to both repairman this is a common problem with this model (WRF989SDAW00). I understand that appliances break and they need repaired; however, you would think a refrigerator that cost over $3000 would last longer than 2 years. Do not purchase a Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator; even if you purchase an extended warranty, you will still have spoiled food and leaking water to tend with. We have had nothing but problems with ours.

Purchase 2009 Duet Washer & Dryer (WFW9700VW00). Recently have had error codes coming up - F35 for one. Could not get washer to reset. Had to keep unplugging and plugging back in. Service was called and the tech knew right away what was wrong. He ordered and installed an analog pressure switch. While he was working he mentioned that this was a known error and if we had called with this problem a couple years ago Whirlpool would have replaced the washer. Im not looking for a replacement but I feel Whirlpool should cover the part having been a known issue.

After 1 year and 5 months, my old side by side Whirlpool refrigerator stopped working. The melted ice caused floor damage and ceiling damage of the floor under.

I bought a Cabrio top loader in 2007. Have now replaced a pump for the 2nd time. Replaced a circuit board once. Thank goodness the machine was purchased at a local appliance store who stand behind what they sell and are very prompt in their response time.

After 16 months the Whirlpool refrigerator Model number: #WRT311SZDW00 goes out. While trying to use extended warranty Whirlpool states it will be 4 to 6 week before a technician can come out. YES- Weeks not days. Now Whirlpool states they are unable to find a technician in my area and in order to get it fixed I will need to hire the tech and seek reimbursement from them for the repair. However prior to the repair they will need to approve the repair. In the mean time I am renting a refrigerator at my cost. They lost a customer for life!!! Question- What is the purpose of the warranty? Model number: #WRT311SZDW00

The machine Will Not Clean the Clothes. Had to Buy A Maytag Washer.

After 1 1/2 years, My new Cabrio washer lid hinge started to come apart and wont latch, so machine wont run. After a day or so it completely popped up and out of align. The lid has PLASTIC hinge. This is obviously a problem. We have been in touch with Whirlpool, but they say they cant help?? This should be a recall. We have been waiting on back order for a replacement Lid at OUR OWN EXPENSE since Sept. 20, 2015. I want to get this fixed and use my Machine again. We are Senior Citizens and this machine is used 3-4 times a week. Not abused.

Free-standing electric range Model WFE524CLBS0 - When burners are OFF but oven is ON, stovetop becomes unbearably hot. Had a service call. Technician (who was rude and surly, but thats not Whirlpools fault) said design standard was 175 degrees. This is dangerously hot. Surface should never get that hot except when burners are on.

I purchased a (second) Whirlpool washer (WFW87HEDW0) in October 2014. Since purchasing (and to this day), I manually dried the rubber gasket after completing my daily washes, knowing that mold growth was possible. I wash one to two loads of clothes about three to four days per week. During the first year, I did not notice any mold in this area and was confident that the manual drying and cleaning with Affresh was preventing mold growth. However, at the beginning of this year I discovered a little mold growth, which has slowly been increasing, in the inside lower lip of the rubber gasket. The image attached reflects mold in its current state. I was very surprise to see this happening since my diligent cleaning has been thorough and never ending. I even remove the soap dispenser tray to clean and air dry it outside of the washer and leave the washer door open at the end of the daily washes for extra fresh air circulation. This is my first official complaint about a Whirlpool front loader washer, even though I previously owned another (GHW9200LQ0) before this one and had mold growing on the rubber door gasket but, unfortunately, never officially complained about that old machine. Now, I dont qualify for the $500 compensation because I never officially complained three times within the first five years of owning the old washer. To my dismay, I did not immediately realize I had mold growth in the old washer. It was only until years later that a repairman told me that I had mold growth in it. In addition to telling me the price of replacing the rubber part and replacing a broken water pump plus labor would cost as much as buying a new washer. Before purchasing a new washer, I researched and read many reviews about Whirlpool and other brands before deciding on this new Whirlpool. I decided to give Whirlpool another chance and to follow their recommendations on the proper cleaning of the machine. Once again, I am disappointed and angry with Whirlpool and, now, have to figure out what to do with my current situation.

My Whirlpool refrigerator is about 13 months old and the paint is peeling off. I was told my an associate at whirlpool that I could have a service person come replace it for approximately $500. And this is only for one door not both.
