Purchased I assumed a brand-new electric hot water heater from Lowes. It worked giving us hot water for 5 months then it quit. We called the number they have located on the side of the water heater and they sent 3 references such as plumbers for us to contact because everything they told us to purchase didnt work... so after their references, plumber came out. Instead of him telling us what was wrong why all of a sudden we stopped getting hot water he didnt return our phone call. As a professional that sucks!!! So WHIRLPOOL CUSTOMER SERVICE says the hot water heater that had been working for 5 months wasnt up to code and wasnt wired right and WE need to pay an electrician to connect it right... thats **. The electrician did it correct the first time. Whirlpool just dont want to accept the fact that their equipment is faulty!!! But thats good because I will NEVER purchase anything WHIRLPOOL makes. I dont care if they start making water. I will just quit The hell with that company!!! WHIRLPOOL SUCKS!!! Heres the serial number 1626103174130 and if I had read the neg reviews before I purchased the hot water heater I wouldnt not have done it!!!

I have had my Cabrio for a year now and quite frankly, I find more satisfaction taking all of my laundry to a local laundromat. There is no soak cycle and when you have a kid in sports, that doesnt help. There is no agitator, and I am now convinced that they were originally in all washers for a reason. My clothes have all worn out and are shredding, not to mention my very expensive bath towels that I am now cutting into rags. This was the worst purchase I have ever made in my life and will never even look at a Whirlpool again. When I bought my house, I had a Maytag that was 35 years old and it did a better job than the new Cabrio. Should have stuck with that brand!

The oven steam cleans the oven but it only cleans the bottom, not the sides, back or door. They dont recommend oven cleaner so how do you clean it? My oven is a year old and looks like its never been cleaned. You would be better off with non cleaning oven and using oven cleaner. It would be less work. Horrible stove.

Buyer beware. There was a class action lawsuit filed for our Whirlpool dishwasher some years ago. The control panel shorted and or overheated on ours in February of 2021, causing it to emit white plastic smelling smoke. (Glad we were home when we ran it.) I opened the door to turn it off and it continued to run, smoke and spray water all over the kitchen. Called Fire Department. Filed a complaint with Whirlpool. They sent a repair person to inspect and take photos. Its been 6 weeks and still have not received a call from them. I bought a Frigidaire. It is made by Electrolux. FYI, Kenmore is also made by Whirlpool.

We purchased the microwave. It looked nice and seemed sturdy. I bought a trim kit to make it look Built in. As soon as I finished installing the microwave and kit we tried to use it. My wife could not get the door to open unless she pushed the door button hard several times. I checked to see if the trim kit was causing the problem and it was not. We kept trying to get the door to open as it should but could not make it work correctly. I even used a little lubricant and it did not help. We then looked up the reviews and saw this was a prevalent problem. We then returned the unit and trim and ordered a Samsung. It will be in on the 25th of March. I placed a review on Lowes site but Whirlpool removed it saying since I took it back they removed the negative review. Since it was defective I wanted the public to see the truth on this unit.

We have had this Whirlpool washer duet 5 years. It regularly rips shirts, underwear, socks, and sweatshirts. Jeans or heavy denim are safe but polos, hanes, or flannel are not. We have been putting our clothes into laundry bags and lingerie bags for a couple of years now to wash safely. Additionally it leaks out the front door. We clean it regularly and it still has mold growing on the rubber gasket - we do prop the door open also. All in all it is a terrible dryer. My previous Maytag was fabulous. I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

Purchased new Whirlpool 2-door, side by side refrigerator from Standards store in December 2010 for close to TT$10,000. For 2-3 years, it made a very loud noise. Each time it cut off that disturbed my peace and quiet. I complained, to no avail. In early 2015 or thereabouts I began experiencing severe warming problems in the non-freezer compartment and, since that time, I have suffered large losses from spoilage. The warming coincides with over-freezing (icicles, thick frost formation and whirling, dense cold air) in the freezer compartment and icing up of the vents in the non-freezer section. Moreover, the cool air flows from the top vent only when the freezer door is left open. Since that time Ive only been able to marginally cool the non-freezer section by unplugging for up to an entire day, at least once per week. I believe this is a manufacturing flaw rendering the non-freezer section not fit for its purpose although it manifested itself sometime after purchase. My prior experience with another brand has been totally different (13 years and still working). It is totally frustrating. It is also unsafe since spoilage is sometimes difficult to detect. Here, we have to deal with the seller and that is often a hopeless situation, particularly outside of the warranty, as has been my experience with another household appliance. Ive been advised by independent technicians who reportedly have encountered this problem that the solution lies in boring a hole connecting the two compartments which then enables efficient cooling of the non-freezer compartment. Quite frankly, I would like to have the refrigerator replaced despite the fact that it is outside of the warranty.

Quick loads, etc. We were looking for a washer and dryer set that would accommodate large quilts and blankets and still have the flexibility to handle small and delicate loads, and be energy efficient. The Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Option is solidly built and very sturdy. It handles small and large loads and is very energy efficient. My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in 2013 (Model Number WTW8600YW1). It never filled properly with water. It evolved to a sensor and circuit board issue that Whirlpool never totally remedied. Hence, the machine never worked properly. This 800 dollar purchase on an elderly persons limited budget had to be utilized minimally. Now fast forward in 2015, even with minimal usage and white glove handling, the machine is displaying an F51 error. You guessed it, Whirlpool will not remedy the issue, although it is well-documented to be a widespread complaint hence clearly a product defect. Shame on Whirlpool, their business practices, and what amounts to theft of an elderly womans finite income. I have advised my mother to trash the useless Whirlpool appliance and purchase a Kenmore washing machine, of which I have been the proud owner for 10 years, doing laundry for a family of 5.

What can I say. Pretty much a generic refrigerator that is manufactured and sold under various brand names. Nothing special. Keeps food cold. Ice maker takes too much freezer space but thats typical. Interior LED lights failed after a few months. Flicker sometimes. Out other times. Internet research finds this to be a common problem. Zero quality in Whirlpool appliances. I bought four Whirlpool kitchen appliances and ALL have had problems. The only way to own them is with a 5 year extended warranty.

We bought a dishwasher, stove and refrigerator last month. Dishwasher and stove work great, however the refrigerator is junk! The freezer part works great, but the refrigerator doesnt cool at all. The first time he was here the repair man said the seal on the door was bad and he glued it. He told us to not open the door for 48 hours then everything would be fine. IT WASNT. A week and a half later he came back. He looked inside, scratched his head and told us, “This model should have the “deluxe” fan and I dont think it does!” Said he would be back in 6 days with the fan and well “see if that fixes it”.I called Whirlpool service waited on hold for an hour before getting cut off. Called back waited 35 more minutes but actually got to speak to someone. The big solution... They offered me a 6 month extended warranty!!! Ive lost an entire refrigerator full of food. Missed two days of work and am going to miss another when he brings the “deluxe” fan. Also been eating out all month and probably spent $100 buying ice. IE... MOST EXPENSIVE REFRIGERATOR EVER!!!

We have been married 36 years. Since year one, me and my wife have owned nothing but Whirlpool appliances. They lasted forever. Approximately 4 years ago, we redid our home, and bought all new appliances, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, front loader, washer, and dryer, Since then, 4 years ago, our refrigerator ice maker stopped working. 2 years ago, our dishwasher wont heat up, so it is useless to us, and the bearings in the washer are shot. I must say we are so disappointed in Whirlpool. We are barely living on my husbands income as I had to stop working 3 years ago, as I became disabled, but did not make enough money to be able to collect disability. We cannot afford new appliances, nor to fix them. I am sending you the model numbers of each appliance, hoping you will do something to help. This is just ridiculous. It is just my husband and me in the house (washer: WFW9200SQ02; refrigerator: GD5NVAXSA01; dishwasher: no model number, but it is Energy Star II 8575637). Please help. We cannot afford to replace this, nor repair. It is hard for me to go to the laundromat, then come home to dry. Standing long periods to to dishes, takes a toll on me. Please help.

The washer never uses enough water ever. The clothes are not clean and it sucks! The clothes are half dry when agitation is going. The bulky setting doesnt clean the clothes either. Ive tried every detergent on the market to see if it would help. No different results. I paid a lot of money in 2015 for this washer and Ive had bad experiences ever since. No change in my water bill since I have to usually wash clothes and towels twice. I want my money back so I can buy a better washer! Im beyond aggravated! I have looked for my receipt but its been awhile. I did get insurance on it. I bought it at Lowes it should be on my card they scan.

In August 2011, I purchased and had installed a Whirlpool Wall Oven RBS305PVQ04 for $1000+. In July 2014, the oven failed with blown internal fuses and a thermostat $225+. In November 2014, the oven failed again, this time with a failed controller board. Whirlpool claims there are no replacement parts after just three years! In calling Whirlpool customer service for help, they basically said tough luck! NO parts, NO adjustments, NO service, you own a boat anchor. I tried to buy American; boy, was that a mistake. So it cost me $415 per year to own this LEMON. DO NOT DEAL WITH THE WHIRLPOOL COMPANY!

Whirlpool Cabrio - Clothes come out of the washer wrinkled, twisted and soap stained. I use the exact soap products they recommend in the proper amounts. Bought them in September of 2014. Wish I could return them. Too low of a water level that cannot be adjusted. Not fully rinsing the soap out of the clothes. Washing takes twice as long as with my former 25 year old washer. Dryer is new technology and energy efficient yet wont remove wrinkles from permanent press clothes.Uses hardly any water so clothes must be rinsed at least one or two times to get the soap spots off. Clothes always come out extremely wrinkled. Not all items can be put in the dryer so ironing is back in my life again. Some items come out so twisted and wrinkled that ironing wont even help. Dryer isnt much better at all and shirts and pants always have some wrinkles. Have had to bring some items to the dry cleaners to bring them back to a non wrinkled state. Whatever is saved in water and energy is more than made up by ironing and dry cleaning. The company representatives have sent service people out twice and they both said that the machines are performing as they were intended to. I do smaller washes and wash more often to try to get better results. I dont. Even though it is extra large capacity items such as blankets must be washed more than once as the water does not wet the entire blanket.

Whirlpool N50T61-403 - I bought this thing today 8.21.14 from Lowes. It is a Whirlpool 50-Gal water heater (6th sense) and was going to have it installed by their installer, but elected after seeing it was very similar to lining up with my old unit. I got it in and then filled it. After filling, I lit the pilot light per the instructions then turned the knob for heating it up. Success, the flame spread across the burners...then went out. The steady blink changed to the 2 blink code indicating a bad thermopile. It did not work - right out of the box. No plumber near me carries the part. Whirlpool has thus been pretty good about it offering to have someone come out at their cost... But if no one has the parts, that is no good. I am moving from this house so if we can get it to work, its the problem for the next owner. If not - Ill have to get an RMA and go back to Lowes... Then try the Rheem from Home Depot. Will see if they will overnight a part tomorrow. I found the other reviews - and I dont like it that this thing appears to have difficulty right out of the box.

We get the error code F1 in the start of the cycle and when there is 21 minutes left, we have to stop and reset at least 7 times before the water fills. We put a new sensor in for over $200. The second problem is it goes off balance no matter what the load is. I was going to have it fixed (if possible). After reading all the above I wont waste any more money on it and go buy an old fashioned reliable washer. What a piece of money sucking machine especially when I dont have any extra money to waste down the drain. I wish I knew before. All they can offer me is a $50 check and have a different company come out and check my fridge. Im SO UPSET AND DISAPPOINTED! I remember when I was a little girl my parents and grandparents would talk about how good Whirlpool was and I was so excited when I moved into my first brand new house 6 months ago. It had all brand new Whirlpool appliances but now I think they are a piece of crap because to top it all off my microwave broke down 3 months after I moved in and I waited over a month from the time I reported it to have the tech come out and replace it. I get told one thing, then when I call back for an update 2 weeks later that person has no idea what Im talking about. I will tell you one thing, if you do not want a headache, I suggest you buy another product!! I can guarantee, I will let everyone I know and never purchase Whirlpool again if this is not resolved this week! After doing my research, this part should be recalled. Seems to use very little water. When I take the clothes out, they are bone dry in places which means they havent even seen any water! Clean (?) clothes end up smelling musty and I end up having to wash them two or three times which completely goes against any eco argument! I am really disappointed with this product and would never buy Whirlpool again. I have just washed our dog blankets. The cycle finished so took them out, had to check that the detergent had been used as the blankets were almost completely dry. The blankets still completely smell of dog so have had to put them through another wash (with more detergent – waste of money) and with a pre-wash cycle. Rubbish! We also have a Whirlpool drier and that is no better. Washing never comes out completely dry. It always has to be fully aired, sometimes more than others. There is no consistency in how wet or dry the clothes come out. Avoid at all costs.

It was their product that done damage and I live in rural area and no one wants the job of restaining. If the cabinet is replaced it is expensive. Granite counters have to be removed and placed back, sink etc. I requested 3000.00 or Whirlpool send someone to give estimate. This has been dragging on for 2 months and still cant use dishwasher. I bought my Cabrio Platinum Washer and Dryer in 2013 (4 years old). About a month ago, it started sounding like an airplane was landing in the house while on spin cycle. I called a repairman and he said the bearings were going bad and it would be better to buy a new machine. When we pulled out the washer, there was grease all over the floor - apparently a seal started leaking and the bearings had no grease so they started burning up. I talked with Whirlpool, after all it was only 4 years old and a seal leaking and burning the bearings up wouldnt be from normal wear. They were not convinced and offered to give me a discount on a new one -- No Way! I went with another brand recommended by the repairman. The screws on the dryer door also came out and we had to replace them. So much for the Whirlpool brand and especially their top of the line machines. I will not buy another Whirlpool washer or dryer.

Today I had the unfortunate experience to have to deal with Whirlpool customer service and claims. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT again! My refrigerator, that was purchased in 2013, has a door misalignment problem. It is a known problem with Whirlpool (service pointer W107317828). My refrigerator serial number and model number are affected. Because I am outside the one year warranty, Whirlpool refuses to provide service that is required to fix this known issue with my model/serial number. After having to talk to four supervisors the only resolution that was given was that they would cover the cost of the 7/16 hex nut ($4.33). Dont get me wrong I do appreciate the offer. The two supervisors that were below her assured me that no one can do anything to assist me further. The attitude of the second and third supervisor was pathetic. After over a hour on the phone I was so disappointed that I could not take it further. The cost that we are talking about that I am asking them to pay is $154.28. I am very disappointed. They say they stand by their product. To me standing by your product means that you will fix or replace any known issue. $154.28. I hope it is worth it to you Whirlpool. You lost a long time customer.

We purchased this Whirlpool pair after our upright machine was unable to be repaired... because of parts coming from China and being hard, if not, impossible to get. We have had this pair for about 2 years now (Lowe’s). It still doesnt clean the clothes and it continually goes off balance when doing sheets, comforters etc. Myself I feel since they have taken the middle agitator out of the machine - it no longer performs the way a washer should and that its main function is to get the clothes clean! I did write a letter to Whirlpool about it and they pretty much told me, “Well too bad.” So much for buying American made products... at least the upright did last 6 years!

Our long and tortuous experience began in 2013 and continues to this day. But Ill just give the headlines. In August 2013 we bought Whirlpool BTM French Door KFIS20XVMS11 from Lowes. Three years later we learned that model number appeared on the attached recall notice which had been issued just days before our unit was delivered in September. Neither Lowes nor Whirlpool notified us of this recall which described a simple repair to a part that was leaking so slowly that its effects took three years to show up in a destroyed floor and cabinet enclosure that will cost $2981 (and still rising) to repair. We called AIG, the company behind the extended warranty provider, and they responded promptly by dispatching a Whirlpool factory authorized service technician who attempted unsuccessfully to drag the unit from its alcove over the warped, erupted floor beneath. With the refrigerator half-way out of its enclosure, the technician stopped and asked us to sign a waiver of liability. When we refused, he announced that the problem was water damage and he jammed the unit back into place, leaving dents in both doors and the freezer drawer below. We went to Lowes, who strung us along for several months before sending an engineer whose report concluded that the problem was a manufacturers defect (The Lowes engineer and his associate damaged the unit further when they forced it back into place over a floor made more uneven when they removed the pieces of rotted oak shown in the accompanying photo.). Based upon the engineers report, which Lowes said it had no duty to share, we were given a 1-800 number for Whirlpool customer service, with assurance that we would be taken care of. Although we had to start from cold without the engineers report, Whirlpool customer service was initially very accommodating and gave us hope. For a moment, I thought we were going to get resolution. They assigned a case number and we supplied the requested documentation. That was on a Friday in March, 2017.Monday we were surprised to receive a sternly worded notice from the Whirlpool Law Department that a clerk there would be taking over our case. We realized that we were far from resolution. Why did the Law Department intervene? We dont know. We guess it may be because they want to avoid a class action lawsuit on behalf of possibly thousands of leaky refrigerator owners (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air and Amana units were all among the affected). In any case, since January we have been monkey-in-the middle among Whirlpools various departments, Lowes various departments and AIG, with no progress. What do we want? We just want things back the way they were before our leaky refrigerator did its damage and before Lowes and Whirlpool demolished our good as new looking KitchenAid refrigerator in the process of telling us they wont fix it.Footnote: We purchased all new KitchenAid Architect series appliances in August/September 2013, including top of line cooktop, dishwasher, convection microwave, convection oven and a French door cabinet depth refrigerator. Every unit except the cooktop has required warranty service, including five expensive electronic parts replacements. Fortunately we bought extended warranty service from KitchenAid/AIG, who have been terrific to deal with on the parts replacements. I dont recommend Whirlpool appliances but if you are intent on buying them, I do highly recommend extended warranties. As for the value of Whirlpools manufacturers warranty, watch this space. Ill be back with the final resolution.

Maybe they make some higher end ovens but ours was not one of them. The oven light fixture works intermittently and its only been 8 months that we have had it. The insulation on the oven is lacking as well. You can turn the oven off at 450 and within 15 mins its already below 200.

First F1 symbol on washer took 6 months to resolve. All we needed was new motherboard and couldnt mail it to us even though we could replace. It had to be an authorized person. Well we had one and they never put him in the system. Finally got that taken care of, 6 months of having to press pause and restart 5 times just to do one load. Arrrrrggggghhhh! Now water leaking out the bottom. Called again, on hold, then on hold again to be transferred to tech support. Yeah, right. No tech support. Talked to management, they could care less about us even though we have other products from them. Dont buy, they are lemons. We had ropes for 15 years and lasted through everything. Thanks Whirlpool, heres to losing a customer!!!!

Contacted Whirlpool - unit (Cabrio washer 7600xt) is out of 12-mo warranty. Spoke with manager, Tracy **. She said they would not help - out of warranty. Called local parts/service center - ea. hinge is $42 plus shipping and labor to install. Obviously this is a defective design. The lid is too heavy. I was having a difficult time deciding to spend 150-200 dollars every 2-3 years for hinges on a $700 washer and then I read all the other complaints about Whirlpool washers. I will sell it for scrap and buy a better brand.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold from ABC Warehouse in Flint, MI, for $2099.00
I purchased a Whirlpool Gold from ABC Warehouse in Flint, MI, for $2099.00 before tax and it was delivered on 10/22/2010. Head-liner of inside of refrigerator has a crack about 3-3 1/4 inches long and the refrigerator is running more often. A repair tech came today, 10/14/2011, and did his job fine. He called Whirlpool and they stated to fix it with epoxy? The repair tech is ordering this. I called Whirlpool at 9:00 am right after the tech left at 1-800-253-1301 and spoke to Sherry. I explained everything to her in a very nice manner and she stated that according to the manual, they give us it is for repair only? I said, ok, could I please speak to her Supervisor and she said yes but it will be the same answer. I spoke to her supervisor, Lisa at 9:15 am, she came on talking about the problem and let me talk, I asked her on several occasions are you still there, and she said yes, her words were that Whirlpool only repairs nothing else for the year as per my paperwork (record). I said we dont even get this till after we purchase the item, I mentioned I had a Cabrio Washer and it was junk and had more service calls than any other machine I owned. I have a stove as well from Whirlpool it’s been good so far, I told her with service like this, and them knowing their liners are made of cost cutting saving materials as I have read enough complaints about this on the internet, that Whirlpool is eventually going under and so are the other small shops that do part work for them and their jobs will be outsourced to Japan, China, India and so on, I asked if there was another person higher up than her I could speak to and she said no, they’re not available at this time I snickered and said thats management for you. They have a customer service rep (call center complaints which is Sherry), then supervisor like you (Lisa) then some other management that dont want to talk to you. Way to go Whirlpool. I told her to document that I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and I will definitely tell others and so on, and if we get enough folks to ban them they will leave USA or close and then Sherry and Lisa will be unemployed just like the rest of us in the good ole USA. Poor appliances for folks that can barely afford to make it and if you’re lucky and working like me and you buy something; shouldnt a refrigerator last more than this, and you stand behind your products? I also told her I know some are abused but this was not an abused product from me. It is a Whirlpool ‘cut your cost savings product’, and forgets the customer. Please look at the old appliances, I also mentioned I have an old Amana in my garage that is 17 years old runs great and never had a problem. And I gave her up for this piece of junk Whirlpool. I then told her I will write letters, emails and everything I can think of to ban this make and product. Model number of this refrigerator is GI7FVCXWBO, freezer on the bottom, fridge on top, side by side doors, solid black with ice maker. When I purchased this I bought it to last a long time as I had to finance it, and take from our monthly income. I had never had a nice fridge, but heck this is not nice. It’s a joke and the sad part is, I owe over $900.00 still and just got laid off. Thanks to the good ole USA and Michigan, but I will pay it off no matter what cause I pay my bills, and stand behind my name as a good person and citizen unlike Whirlpool. Boycott their products as they dont care about us or the American workforce. Oh, and this damage was not caused by abuse to the fridge - it was poor quality of materials in their products. Thank you for letting us complain about products! Also, it’s not like I can go out and buy another refrigerator as it took me over 18 years to get this one. Thanks WHIRPOOL for letting me down on another bad product but it will never happen again. Ive definitely learned and will teach others. Its just not fair that these big manufacturers can get away doing this to the poor people, maybe its like they say; corporate greed?

It was on sale and the price was good for comparable refrigerators. The biggest problem is that instead of a simple dial to control temperature, you have to be a computer genius to figure out how to turn it to a different temp. even by the instructions. And the ice maker throws ice all over the floor even if you hold the glass up against the top. When I first got it, it made a very loud noise when it run, but that changed with time to a bearable volume. Everything seems to work well other than those few little things.

I was told that since they fixed it last time for free, this repair was on me! If all the items didnt break numerous times, I would not be upset. We purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum W10405142B washer and dryer just over 3 years ago. We decided to go back to the top load as we were having so many issues with odor from our front load. We purchased the set at a Sears store in Timmins Ontario and we’re quite confident that we were getting an excellent product. From day 1 we have had issues with having to rewash our clothes. We have lint and white streaks on the clothes as if we were using powdered detergent and they are all tangled. We have always used HE liquid and at one point I switched to soap nuts to get rid of using chemicals. We have now changed to pods and still have issues. When the washer is spinning it is deafening. You can hear it outside for goodness sakes. It sounds like it is about to take off and fly.The cycles are ridiculously long. For a quick cycle the other day and a very small load it took 72 minutes... how is that quick? When the wash is done my clothes are all tangled up and are stretching things out of shape. I am careful what goes in my washer and how large my load is. I know not to wash sheets or towels when I am not home as they will eventually be unbalanced and have Sat all day in the washer only to have another hour of washing when I get home. We are currently doing some work in our home and pulled out the washer. The floor has a rust circle from God knows what. I will attach a picture. The lid not longer closes. I have to hold it down until it locks and it still pops up a wee bit.I do not understand why I am responsible for purchasing a new set when the product I bought should have lasted and not caused damage to my clothes or my flooring. How do we as consumers make the manufacturers responsible for things like this. If nothing else the appliances should be removed from my home by the Company and I should be reimbursed for damages and the cost of a new set. I will continue to look for my receipt as I keep everything and I am unsure what is meant by order #.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer WTW5800BW0 September 2014. Two years and 8 months later it no longer works. Call Sears and Whirlpool and was basically told I should have purchased a warranty. Whirlpool tried to sell me an extended warranty for $495.00 which is about 80% of the original sale price of the washer. Was told it is my responsibility to care for the maintenance of my purchase. WOW. Way to stand by your product. So now its my fault they sell a product that does not last longer than 3 years. So we tried option 2 - called a repairman. I have been a dedicated Whirlpool customer for 50 years. I purchased my new, Cabrio washer and dryer in 2011. The dryer works fine. The washer does not. It ties everything in knots. Most everything comes out in one large, wrinkled lump. When washing sheets, it wraps the whole load in a soaking wet, fitted sheet bubble. You cannot wash one item by itself, because it will become unbalanced and shutdown. I will say that I havent had any repairs yet, but I have a feeling, its only a matter of time. I have decided to buy a new washer, but it will not be a Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Duet $1300, in the past we had great service from other Whirlpool products. Just a more modern look and knowing it was a company we had used in the past with very little or no problems so we expected the same only with energy and water savings. We are energy aware and believe in conserving energy and water where we can. My wife wanted to stick with the brand that gave us good service in the past and chose one of their most conservative units on the market (I believe it was based mainly on looks). What burns me the most about this unit is its constant consumption of clothing, the repair guy found nothing askew with the unit and suggested smaller loads. So we reduced the load size smaller and smaller till we were washing each outfit separately and guess what, it still ate clothes, just chews them up.We lose about a hundred dollars a month in clothing. This washer tears holes and shreds clothing on almost every load, I have to put shirts and lighter clothes to the back of the washer then load the heavier blue jeans and such toward the front and hope they finish in the same position or something is ruined. The fabric becomes distressed, stretched, shredded or has holes, or any combination of the above. We have taken to going to a laundromat or sending clothes to the cleaners. These units are three years old and we are now looking for a replacement for the washer because the local service guy won’t even come out any more. This problem surfaced within a week of the first use of the machine and has remained steady, as we are retired and travel a lot we are not always using them so they are what I would term very lightly used.

My Whirlpool washer would start up but would not add any water. It sat there doing absolutely nothing. Then it showed a code on the screen. It said to disconnect the power for 1 minute and plug it back in, which I did. I repeated that process several times. Still nothing. It also said to call Whirlpool, which I did. They wanted the Model # WFW97HEXLO and Serial #, I gave it to the gal on the phone at Whirlpool. I was told it would be a week before they could get someone out there to take a look at it. Really!! I work 80 hours a week and live in the country. I dont have a week. When I asked where the service man was coming from, he was coming from another town. I asked if there was someone closer. She gave me another appliance stores phone number. They showed up 2 business days later, looked at my washer, verified the code along with the Model and Serial #s, telling me it was the control panel. I gave that information to them on a Friday, they showed up on a Tuesday. They knew what that code was and what it meant for that make and model washer, but there just had to be a service call in there. The part was ordered on that Tuesday... here it is the following Saturday and the part still isnt here. I do not understand what takes Whirlpool so long to ship the part. Do they not care that in this hustle bustle life we live in, we dont have time to wait for a part that may or may not show up. Ship it overnight. That is an option. Making the parts accessible to the service people in a timely manner would make great customer-service. Better yet, how about going back to the old-style washers. This high-efficiency non-sense is highly expensive.

Im very frustrated. I bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator for nearly $1300 in Sept. 11. It is a side-by-side Model #ED5KVEXVL00. The refrigerator side started warming up to the point that we noticed. We put a thermometer inside to confirm; it went up to nearly 60 degrees. We tried cleaning any dust underneath from the coils and even unplugged it for a while. The compressor appears to be the potential problem. Sears is not sending a repair guy for 2 WEEKS (It is a hot July here in NY)!!!!We are saddened that Whirlpool says it is out of the one-year warranty - so now we are facing the choice of a large repair bill or buying a new refrigerator. What a waste of money... Its not even 2 years and it needs service or a dumpster. Shame on Whirlpool for not standing up for customers when clearly there is something wrong with this machine so close to the warranty and so new. Sears and Whirlpool - youve lost me as a future appliance customer!!! :(

I bought this washer less than 2 months ago and I am devastated to say the least as they are not even remotely cheap. Appears that is doesnt come close to using enough water or enough agitation to get even 2 pieces of clothing clean. What good is 5.8cu (largest size tub) if you cant even wash a load sized for non HE washer. I am forced to wash a 1/4 of the amount of clothing now vs my previous standard washer, if I even want half cleaned clothing. I have tried every cycle with no difference.Doesnt use enough water but appears to spend most of the cycle time, filling with water. I know that sounds contradictory, but there isnt really any other way to explain it. Might as well not even have an (agitator), I use that word lightly here, as it does nothing to help clean the clothing inside. Pre-programmed cycles are not enough to do what you need it to do. Because of the pre-programmed cycles, unable to place clothing inside, fill with water, agitate a little and then stop or pause long enough to let contents soak for a while. I really miss being able to do this with my previous Whirlpool washer. It doesnt matter how little or how much detergent you use, the results are always the same, clothing comes out partially dry and dirty. Usually requires 2 or more wash cycles to remotely obtain clean items. Most items never even go under the water, no matter how much water it decides to fill with. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool with this fiasco they call a washer, with their name on it and they should be also. I have never owned any other brand than Whirlpool, so I didnt hesitate to buy this set, as I had wanted them for several years and finally made the decision to purchase and what a mistake this was. Will never make this mistake again. Whirlpool needs to correct this for every customer that has purchased these washers or risk ruining their reputation.

When the repairman arrived on 09-09-2020, he opened up the stove and checked it, and he told me that a computer part needs to be replaced, as well as the igniter, and the cost would be between $400.00 and $600.00 (I dont remember the exact amount), I told SEVERAL times, maybe its just the igniter (for which the cost would less than $100.00 AND already included in the $134.95), but he insisted that the computer needed to be replaced, I did not like the way he explained it to me, it did not make sense. After that I was planning to buy a new stove, as the repair was too high. But, I decided to try to change the igniter myself before getting rid of the stove (the igniter cost was $21.00). I just got the igniter recently, and installed it, with help from YouTube, and what do you? THE STOVE IS WORKING!!! This is fraud!!! FLAMINGO APPLIANCE SERVICE ARE THIEVES, AND BY ASSOCIATION, WHIRLPOOL, WHOM THEY REPRESENT ARE THIEVES ALSO. I shall publicize to the best of my abilities: NOT TO BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!!! This was not a mistake!!! This is the way they rip people off!! Either by paying exorbitant amounts for unnecessary repairs, or by buying new appliances when the old ones are still good. Dont buy Whirlpool!!! Dont use Flamingo Appliance Service. Theyre both fraudsters.

My Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7800 was bought 1 and 1/2 years ago. The lid is glass with a plastic edge. The plastic part of the lid next to the glass and hinge is cracking causing the glass to stick up. It is cracked from the top of the lid toward the base if the lid were closed. The only way this could happen if it werent a manufacturer defect would be if someone were to get inside of the washer with the lid locked and try to push up to get out right at the hinges. I have noticed several other complaints of the same problem on this website with the same model. Clearly this is a manufacturer defect. I am on the phone with Whirlpool now.

Whirlpool did fix that but now my fridge isnt staying cold. My extended warranty was just up 5 months ago. I am disgusted with this fridge.

In June of 2010, I purchased a new Whirlpool Estate EED4400WQ0 dryer (serial number M01156261) with an accompanying washing machine. It has been in a clean, climate-controlled environment and gently used by my family of four for just short of two years. Last week, I began to notice that the clothes coming out of the dryer were cool and damp and it quickly became apparent that the dryer was only heating intermittently. This morning, the service person from the dealer who sold me the washer and dryer set (and a Whirlpool dishwasher a few months later) told me that contacts on the timer unit were bad and that the entire switch would have to be replaced. This is no small portion of the machine and the part alone will cost me about $150. After labor, we are looking at an expense of approximately half of the original cost of the machine - in less than two years. I called the Whirlpool’s customer service line to ask if there was anything that could be done and the answer was: Sorry, we cant do anything for you.” It is not acceptable to me for an appliance to become that expensive that fast. If Whirlpool cant do anything for me about this, then I will not be purchasing anymore Whirlpool products.

I purchased this washer and at the same time had gotten a puppy, I only mention the puppy because she is the one who kept getting blamed for what was happening to my clothes. I NEVER thought that it was my washing machine that was ruining my clothing, until I finally opened the door one day and my shirt was hanging from the top of the washer opening, and suddenly it all made sense! I kept thinking that the puppy was chewing my clothes but it is actually the washer that is sucking my clothing into the opening of the washer and when it gets stuck and the rest of the garment keeps spinning, it creates a burn in the clothing. I found out the hard way that Whirlpool will just blame the consumer for not knowing how to properly follow washing instructions, or their instructions, and will not take any sort of responsibility for it being the washer itself! I wrote to them after my father passed away and I washed his sweater in the washer and it got caught in the washer and ruined it. They blamed me for it and basically said I did not follow the proper washing instructions. I have been washing clothes for over 20 years and I know how to do laundry. I have read every inch of the owners manual and NOTHING tells you that during the wash cycle, your clothes may become sucked into the opening and ruined! So I went online to see if this was happening to anyone else and I was amazed at how many people this is actually happening to! There should have been a recall on these washers and I am amazed there has not been some sort of class action lawsuit.

My review is not about Lowes, it is about the Whirlpool Range I purchased. I purchased a Whirlpool Range in 2013. In a matter of a few weeks the drawer at the bottom was giving problems. It was still under warranty and a repairman was sent to repair it at no cost to me. Something was broke about it. The drawer is so flimsy made it is not made to hold much of anything to start with. I have to take all sorts of effort to get it to close correctly. It is just shoddy made. Then a few weeks ago a piece of the side trim on the oven door fell off. My husband got it back on and then it fell off again last night. I am not happy with this stove, it is cheap made for $550.00. It is white with a smooth cooking surface. Drawer is so shallow and wont stay on the tracks, things fall out over the back. I am not satisfied with this stove, but I have got to keep it.

This Whirlpool refrigerator is only 1 year and 3 months old (just out of manufacturers warranty). I am very happy that I bought the extended warranty. I have had to have 2 service calls in the past month. On the second one I was told the compressor needed to be replaced. I have had refrigerators that were 25 years old and never needed service and are still working. I have seen many of the same problems being reported on Whirlpool Refrigerators of this type. I recommend you steer clear of them. Also KitchenAid and Maytag because Whirlpool makes their refrigerators too.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7800XW2 - After buying my American made washer..... at nearly $900 with extended warranty about 2 years ago. This week noticed small cracks in plastic that surrounds and holds glass lid. Now lid will not sit flat and glass is emerging from encasement. Called extended warranty claim center and was told it was a cosmetic issue. Called Whirlpool, and was told they were unaware of this flaw, even though countless websites, chat sites, and Youtube. My frustration is how they claim to be unaware of this flaw and refusal address it, after countless consumers have called. I would be willing to start a class action on this matter!

The temperature regulation has failed and food in the lower compartment freezes while the temperature in the freezer compartment varies wildly. Our just over 1 year old Whirlpool washer died completely last month (mid May). After calling them and being directed to the extended warranty dept (which we ended up purchasing), a repair guy came out and told us it was our main controller board. Three days later, he returned with the board and nothing. We were then told it was the user interface. They were on backorder until June 5, which means our machine would be out of commission for three weeks. I just received another call informing us the part was now on backorder until June 15. Whirlpool, on what planet is it acceptable for your appliances to be out of commission for six full weeks? Never again.

We purchased a KitchenAid KFIS29PBMS00 in August of 2013. By March of 2014 it had stopped freezing and producing ice. Sent out a technician (mind you each technician has to come twice, once to diagnose and then to repair). They determined that all of the panels and ice maker needed replaced. Did so with no resolution. Placed another call. This technician determined that the compressor was bad. Installed a new one on April 10th. The fridge worked for 30 days. Stopped freezing and producing ice. Placed the 3rd service call. Was told that the new compressor was bad. Technician showed up on June 5th to replace it but did not have one with him. He was told by Whirlpool that they had discovered a wiring problem and that if the Serial number begins with K322 -K335 yours is one of them. We are K324. He ran a serious tests and contacted Whirlpool. I was told it is not in Whirpools hands. LUCKY ME NOT. It is now June 19th, I have made 2 additional calls to KitchenAid after not hearing anything back was told that I was in the process of receiving a new fridge and that I would get a phone call. After nothing I called back again. After 47 minutes I was transferred to a Supervisor. According to her while we were on the phone, she ordered a new refrigerator. No upgrade, compensation or a care in the world for the consumer. I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool appliance again. I expect to have to call back again.

I bought a Whirlpool microwave oven last year. The last one year, it has worked fine. The day after the warranty period was over, the microwave oven is not working .The rotating part is not rotating, so I called your customer care center. They sent one guy to trouble hoot, he said that the rotating part is faulty and I need to spend around Rs. 3,500.00 to rectify the problem .The cost of the microwave oven is Rs. 6,500.00.How can I spend Rs. 3,500.00 to rectify the problem? That too, how it happened the day next to the warranty period. Now, I have a doubt that as I purchased the article in Saravana Store T Nagar/Jayachandran stores in T Nagar, whether I am getting such kind of problem. Because when I purchased, they gave me a lot of gifts. That time itself I suspected.I trusted Whirlpool Company. I heard that Whirlpool Company is good so I purchased a double door fridge 5 years ago. The same problem I had when I purchased the fridge, the day next to my fridge’s warranty period, it happened to me. That time, I did not think like that. But now, the same problem happened to my microwave oven. So, I am suspecting about the genuinity of the Whirlpool Company. I am totally dissatisfied about the product of the Whirlpool. I will give you my microwave oven. You take it freely. You can use my microwave oven for your demo purpose. So that in the future no customers will have problem which I had. I just want to say that this washer is indeed a colossal waste of money. I bought an HE machine thinking Id be environmentally responsible, but the amount of times I have to re-rinse clothes negates that. Whats worse is that clothes come out dirtier than when they go in. Thats right--just put a brand new set of sheets in the washer and when they came out, there were dissolved detergent marks and gray, linty patches all over them (this using warm water and a soft gel detergent)--resembling dirt you might get from hanging clothes on a mildew clothes line. I cant tell you how many times I need to re-run the drain and spin cycle. This wastes time, water and quality of life. Id try to re-sell it on Craigslist but wouldnt want to subject anyone else to it--not fair even at $100!Updated on 02/23/2015I wrote a review in September 2014 on the Whirlpool cabrio model WTW5600XWO. To update the community on my recent customer service experience with Whirlpool: I wrote them a letter a few weeks ago stating that I dont expect them to follow up but wanted to let them know I would be buying Bosh products from now on and reiterating my anger at needing to miracle brush any dark piece of clothing after it goes through the cabrio. My letter specifically said I did not expect customer resolution but wanted to express what a rotten product they produced and marketed. They called back leaving a message to the effect: We apologize want to help you but need to speak in person. Please call [toll free number] and have your make and serial numbers available. I called back, and after waiting on hold for 10 mins., the rep took my model and serial numbers, said, Oh I see your letter. Please give me a moment to review it. Then I was told there was nothing she could do. I do apologize for your frustration. I couldnt BELIEVE they would bother contacting me only to make me go through that charade-- They are PATHETIC! I say boycott the company! Well, I certainly will.

We purchased our 5 door/drawer frig in April. We have experienced two glitches when it failed to make ice for 24-48 hour periods. Now the freezer has stopped cooling. The first time the repairman came out he refused to move the refrigerator because the wheels would not roll properly. We had to purchase a sheet of thin plywood to put under the wheels so he could roll it. (We have vinyl flooring - the wheels just dont lift the unit enough to clear the floor.) When he returned 6 days later, he said the compressor was leaking and was not able to send enough Freon to the freezer section to cool it. The compressor is on back order and we have not been given a timeframe for its availability.

This machine is JUNK and in need of a recall!! DO NOT BUY!!! This was purchased at Lowes for nearly $800 a couple of years ago and what a waste of money. During the first year, they had to send out a tech that told me he was not familiar with top loaders and was not sure why the clothes were not getting clean, nor why they came out with a white residue on the dark clothes. We used the machine cleaner - which the cycles take nearly an hour (how is that efficient?), put in a load of dark clothes WITH NO SOAP and guess what? Then he had me dump in a gallon of vinegar to clean the tub and the wall of the washer and repeated the process and guess what? He informed me that it was just lint. Well, after several visits and using a suggested pin drop of soap, the problem remained. I finally asked him if he was so sure it was lint and not soap residue, would he be willing to taste the lint? It was soap.Obviously after an hour of washing in the efficient washer, the clothes are not getting rinsed. I know this because in just putting in less than ten dark t-shirts, they came out dry!!! He informed me that since he was a contractor for Whirlpool, he was not allowed to continue to come back as he resolved the problem that I was using too much soap! Well, that is only part of the problem. This piece of crap leaks. We not only have a water softener, but a household filter system. In just the last three months, we have replaced the hoses as they are corroding. We were informed by Lowes that the hoses that came with the washers were from China and that they have been replacing them with US made hoses to the customers at no charge due to the amount of returns. Well, those too have been corroding and now I once again have water on the floor. It cost $1.75 to take my clothes to the Laundromat, 26 minutes to wash and ten minutes to get there and back. That is what I have been doing, and using my 23 year old dryer when I get home. It is a shame that the company is not responding to an obvious problem. I only wash two loads in a week - not like I am beating the thing to death with numerous loads or heavy loads. I will not recommend, in fact, I BEG you not to spend your hard earned money on this junk. Buy a $200 washer and if it too craps out in three, four or five years... you are still ahead. You will even save money on headache medication and save your sanity.

November 4, 2017 we purchased a 2018 Tiffin RV with a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator/freezer. We did not use the RV refrigerator until our first trip to Florida January 2018. Immediate problems with the freezer icing up on freezer door and icing up in the top 2 shelves of refrigerator. Milk, fruit, even cheese froze in the top of the refrigerator. Bottom freezer door froze so bad I had to yank on the drawer very hard to even get it open & chunks of ice would fall off the door on the floor outside once it opened. Called Whirlpool warranty service phone number two times 2/16/2018. I wont go into all the details but we were on hold for a 90 minutes and were transferred 7 times by the automated system. Talked to one person, Lindsey, who immediately transferred me again to RV Dept. No one ever answered. System kept saying, Please wait. Then just disconnected and another recording came on saying to call back. We did not after this fiasco! February 19, 2018 we called Tiffin MH & told them about the NO CUSTOMER SERVICE from Whirlpool. They told us to call Sears in Sebring, FL. We did. If we wanted Whirlpool service to bring the motorhome to them & the warranty only covered parts NOT labor or service calls. They did not want to work on it. March 13, 2018 We went to Tiffin MH Service in Red Bay, AL. Earl called Whirlpool tech, Steve, & tried to explain the problem. Steve told him he did not talk on speaker phone & told him very hatefully to put him on the private line. Steve just very angrily insisting that Earl had him on speaker phone. I do not understand Whirlpools Steve issue with being on speaker phone? Finally Earl got him to listen to our refrigerator problems as he stood there at the refrigerator going through each issue step-by-step. Steve said to put silicon in the seal & that Whirlpool WOULD NOT replace a 3 month old refrigerator that actually had only been used 2 months. We found out later Tiffin is going to replace the refrigerator.
