My Calypso washer is broken AGAIN. I have spent more in repairs than the machine cost originally. After more than a dozen emails to customer service they have still not answered me even once. Its obvious they put as much pride in their customer service as they put into the assembly of their products.

Purchased in January of 2014: Brand new Whirlpool WOS51EC7AS01 model oven - interior bottom metal has buckled causing the enamel to crack and break off from oven bottom. I registered all my new appliances immediately for warranty. When this happened after the fourth or fifth time baking in the oven, I called Whirlpool to get a service person to look at it. First person Whirlpool scheduled to come out refused to even come out, without looking at my oven. He said he knew we did something wrong? They immediately set up a second service person, after two weeks waiting for an answer; I had to call him (twice). He said that his report and pictures sent into Whirlpool shows normal use and there is nothing wrong with our oven? So, Whirlpool will do nothing to repair the oven? We just spent almost $4,000.00 on all new Whirlpool appliances, and this is how we get treated? WOW! Never again will I ever purchase a Whirlpool product. The enamel is gone in spots from our oven floor. How long do they think that will last with no protective coating on the oven? Terrible customer service.

I bought a whirlpool washer from Whirlpool on February 27, 2011. Since then, they have come out and repaired the washer for 5 times. They have even taken the whole motor out, and replaced it. The last time they came, they said I would have to pay for the next time. Now, it has broken again, and I have to pay for a washer repair that is less than a year old. We bought the Whirlpool washer at Sears, and neither Sears, nor Whirlpool will stick by their product. We cannot afford another new washer, and to pay for repairs is a stretch too. Is there anything you can do?

Bought Whirlpool French door refrigerator. Unit was defective when delivered and I told them so. That was on 06/14/2013. Unit got progressively worse and finally has quit completely. At Whirlpools suggestion we bought a Whirlpool Repair Plan Plus One (another scam) for $300. Repairman came out and told us the refrigerator couldnt be fixed. Now Whirlpool suggests their only option is for us to buy a discounted model. This refrigerator went from bad to not working at all in less than a year and a half. Anyone that buys a Whirlpool appliance with knowledge of how they treat customers and back their products has to be a little crazy.

DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. Mine is less than 2 years old. First one month after warranty expired, the clear lid cracked...$350 to replace! Then a few days ago a rusted circuit board came apart and jammed up my washer. This should NEVER happen. I contacted customer service and they told me that they are not covering this problem and that the service call is $175 and cannot estimate the repair cost. They also could not send a repair person out for 5 days. The washer has not been repaired yet so I do not know the entire cost but it will be expensive!

My wife and I bought my mom a Whirlpool Cabrio. It worked fine but after a while it stopped working properly. It would take forever to start washing. We called Lowes and they said it was fine. Second time they came out, they replaced a part that was the problem. Again it didnt work. Would start to wash two to three hours after you hit start. My mom had nothing but problems with it. My wife and I had a Samsung washer and dryer which worked excellent. We sold them when we moved and our apartment had no washer/dryer connection. I should have given them to my mom. So she was tired of her washer and we set out to buy a new one.So since I had a Samsung, I convinced to get one also. We went to the Sears outlet and found a really nice Samsung washer for around $500. So far, the machine has worked well. No complaints and gets the clothes clean. So for anyone that has had problems buying appliances and is looking for a new one, well, Samsung is doing a great job so far.

I received this Email from the Whirlpool Director of Consumer Care to evaluate my experience with their customer service department. I filled out the survey over a week ago including a complete documentation of my problems and have not even received an acknowledgment of the survey or promise to look into my problems. In the last 7 months I have experienced problems with 2 Whirlpool major appliances which both appear to be unrepairable and which have been unsuccessfully brought to the attention of your customer support group. In March a fridge and in October a clothes washer. Both were high end products roughly 3 to 4 years old. I did not have an extended warranty with the fridge so I dealt directly with the customer support group. However I was covered by warranty with the washer and your distributor Bad Boy have been making the calls on my behalf but have been just as disappointed to date as I was. Both cases were very similar. In both cases the repairman came out within a few days and promised to return the following week with the broken part but I have never heard from either one of them EVER. In the case of the fridge I was told to defrost it the day before the promised repair date and lost all the food $$$. At this stage a number of calls went out from me to Whirlpool for the fridge and from Bad Boy for the washer and eventually we both got a new delivery date of roughly one month. Both times the date passed with no shows and no call backs. Repeated calls later to the customer service group, with promises of EXPEDITING the delivery, the fridge part delivery date was extended to 3 months so we had no choice but to buy a new fridge. As for the washer, Bad Boy even had an unsuccessful face to face meeting with your representatives and we have had no word back or expected delivery dates well into the third month.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO? I have made so many calls with so few call backs and no clue what to expect or when? Your representatives use the word expedite with no idea what the word means. At the suggestion of one of your representatives I even called one of your distributors Sears to see if they had the part. Their Canadian head office is in the Philippines and they said they had the same problem with Whirlpool. Twice I tried to talk with your representatives supervisor and both times were unsuccessful. In a world of computers where it should take seconds to find inventory parts and expediting packages usually refers to next day delivery, the fact Whirlpool requires months is unbelievable. The only explanations I can come up with is 1- You dont make parts for your appliances. 2- New appliances are made so poorly all parts are gone. 3- You could not care less about your customers. 4- You dont own a computer. Most of our appliances are Whirlpool because we thought you had a good reputation. We had to purchase a new fridge and still have had no word on the washer?

Whirlpool Duet Sports washer purchased 11-08 was found defective by service
Whirlpool Duet Sports washer purchased 11-08 was found defective by service technician due to improperly secured bolts on counterweight at factory. I contacted Whirlpool service and was informed that warranty will not cover any parts or labor. I ordered parts for repair. It will take at least 2 weeks until arrival and repair of item. Clothes washing now were taken to town for washing at additional expense. After repair, only 90 days of warranty was given by the service technician. The cost of $260 to repair item for a possible life cycle of only 90 more days seems ridiculous.

Purchased a larger hot water heater after reviewing the offerings from the big box stores. Obtained a 40 gallon Lo-Nox type. No problem. Found that I did not have time to install and 3 months later had a company install for almost $300. Within the first month the pilot went out at least 5 times. Had the install company come out and take care of the problem. Worked OK for 2 months and now the pilot light goes out again. Watched the flames myself and find them to be yellow. OK, so try to see what the situation is, call the installer, then call technical support. I am in a basement, on a cell phone and the representative basically has zero patience, zero tolerance for questions, treats me like an idiot and probably has never looked at any of the guides but keeps harping on me.I asked 5 times for patience and guidance not to be treated like an idiot. As time went on it was clear that the representative has zero experience in front of the product or the information in the install guides. She kept calling it a manual and I tried at least 3 times to ensure that her manual is the install guide. She never did affirm. I stated I wanted my money back and she stated no. Whirlpool has a very skillful representative to keep consumers away. However this consumer is a small apt owner that purchases appliances, as well as hot water tanks microwaves etc. No longer will I purchase anything Whirlpool. Oh I will send a complaint about this rep, and she said thats fine send it to the PO box Total lack of product knowledge and not even skillful in a conversation asking for assistance. The installer also stated that this product has horrible reviews. I wish I had seen them before all of this. Total frustration and something unwarranted. I am out $900 and am replacing the tank with a Bradford white from the plumber. Lesson learned. Good bye Whirlpool, hope others stay away from Whirlpool everything. Choosing another brand is the only thing that makes businesses wake up and smell the money.

Both washers had transmission problems. I have bought my last Whirlpool products. I recommend persons considering buying a Whirlpool product check the reviews before you purchase! I dont know the model you have but this exactly what I just had happen in May. Its what they call the jazz board that is behind the light area inside the front of the refrigerator, where the light bulb goes. This is a circuit board and it seems when connection arent happening properly the fridge wont go into defrost mode and the water freezes over the evaporator not allowing any cold air to the top but working cooling freezer and making lots of frost too. I paid $400 to Sears service repair. The jazz board itself, I kept the old one and you can buy it online for about $100 and a child can do the labor that I paid hundreds for because, like you, I didnt know what the problem was. It takes less than 1 min to do this. I was furious! I hope this helps you and I too will never buy a Whirlpool. I found this site looking for why the refrigerator is making very loud noises, very loud banging, clicking, humming. Its ridiculous!

4 years ago, we purchased a Model UMV1160CW-3 over the range microwave. After 14 months the door cracked around the handle and eventually fell off. We made the HUGE mistake of buying the same model for ease of installation thinking that this would be a typical issue. We purchase another duplicate model in April of 2016 and less than 16 months later the same issue occurred. Spoke to customer service on 12/28/2018 and they told me that they would pick up the cost of the parts but I would be responsible for labor which actually exceeded the cost of the microwave. Exceedingly poor-quality product and support. Will not purchase another Whirlpool appliance.

Then came the F1 code, which I noticed if you turn the machine off for a couple of minutes, it resets itself. About a week ago, it started making a grinding noise and staining the clothes with oil or grease. Transmission problems. I was told by the seller it had a 10 year warranty. I called them up and now I got to foot the bill for a technician to come to my house and tell me what I already know plus labor. Might as well buy a new one. We bought this Whirlpool electric range in late July when our old stove literally blew up at breakfast. Unlike the local big stores, a small local store had this in stock. They assured us that the oven was self-cleaning. It is not self cleaning. It only cleans the bottom. We have spoken both to the local store and Whirlpool several times. The local store will do nothing. Whirlpool sent us a sponge and a plastic scraping stick. They told us to clean it BY HAND every time we used the oven and were very condescending. We are 75 and 77; we are not about to climb into an oven to attempt cleaning an oven that will not clean. Stay away from the Aqua Clean products like the plague. They do nothing, and Whirlpool will also do nothing. Next step -- court.

I first want to begin by saying that we have been a Whirlpool family for years. I now own a Whirlpool microwave, hot water heater, washer/dryer, Jenn-Air stove and dishwasher. My problem now is with the Cabrio Washer purchased in 2008. I started having problems in 2011 and the same problem has raised its ugly head again. When I try to use the Clean cycle, it starts at a 60-minute cycle and goes down to a 2-minute cycle in 3 minutes without cleaning or even running water into the tub. This time, it made a terrible noise and stopped. The tub was replaced in July 2011 after having the same complaint as above. The repairman said that the mechanism on the tub to fit into the spinning cycle is made of plastic and is not holding up. Also, in March 2012, a new control board was installed. I spoke to Whirlpool Customer Service and they informed me that they did not have any other complaints about the Clean cycle and that I should call the repairman. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty. I vote a thumbs down on the Cabrio washer.

We purchased our basic Whirlpool refrigerator model # WRT318FZDM05 from Low
We purchased our basic Whirlpool refrigerator model # WRT318FZDM05 from Lowes on September 13, 2019. We bought one of the more basic models available because we have owned higher end fancier refrigerators which have had multiple problems and not worked. So this is the 18.2 cubic feet top freezer model. About six weeks after owning it (conveniently just past the 30 day return window at Lowes!) we began to notice that our freezer wasnt freezing properly or making enough ice. There is only one control panel in this basic fridge so we turned it up. While this cranked up the freezer, the refrigerator compartment began to freeze its contents. So we had to choose between soft serve ice cream and refrigerated eggs and milk or hard serve ice cream and frozen eggs and milk! Finally after the holidays the certified Whirlpool appliance technician came out and recommended a repair with replacement of start device and control board. His report: Freezer not freezing, found the compressor turning on and off. The refrigerator was not even 4 months off the floor and the problem began when it was only 2 months old! When you call the Whirlpool number heres what they say: Welcome to the Whirlpool customer exp. For over a century weve believed in everyday care. Lets see how we can care for you today.Well, when someone calls with a very recently purchased refrigerator whose START DEVICE and CONTROL BOARD no longer work properly that person should be able to return the defective appliance and get a new one. Nope. Not with the Whirlpool experience. You are told that youll have to wait and see if those devices which are ten days away from being replaced in your new refrigerator will fix the problem. So basically NO do not buy from Whirlpool. Turns out a century of everyday care (??) hasnt taught them much about how in this century people need a refrigerator that works everyday!!!!

I thought the new AquaLift cleaning would be the greatest. Boy, was I disappointed -- no thoroughly disgusted and very angry -- when I tried to use the self cleaning oven. I had cooked a prime rib roast and a lot of grease had spattered inside the oven. I wiped away the excess and did a cleaning cycle -- what a joke! There was still grease running down the door and walls. Nothing was changed after two cleaning cycles. Now I have to crawl inside the oven and scrub it manually. I was always pleased with the old self cleaning ovens which only left some ash and a little bit to clean up. The AquaLift technology doesnt work at all, didnt Whirlpool test it prior to selling it to the public? They will surely lose my business and I hope a lot of other peoples business as well. I purchased this washers predecessor, the WTW6200 in May of 09, along with the matching dryer. The bearings gave out after 36 months of use, and our household comprises two adults in their mid-fifties. Estimated cost of the repair? $650! Why am I posting this here? Because two weeks ago, my daughter-in-law called to say that shed so liked my machine when she visited in 09 - Id had the thing for two weeks at that time - that shed bought the WTW8500B and... the bearings were already giving out. I suggested she get the thing repaired, sell it immediately and replace it with an LG product, which is what Ive done. She has been put on a three-month waiting list for the repair, confirming my feeling that Whirlpool, as a whole, has gone down the tubes. Their service record is dreadful, with an excess of 20K complaints existing at various consumer agencies regarding ALL the Cabrio line, and their warranty, Ive learned, is considered the worst in the industry. All in all, the single worst purchase of my fifty-odd years.

This issue is so prevalent that the manufacturer has created a tub bearing failure repair kit for $350. The repair is so expensive and labor intensive that many of the certified Whirlpool repair shops no longer work on the Cabrio washer stating that a better washer can be purchased for the cost of this repair. That said, the manufacturers customer service group denies that the Cabrio tub bearing failures is a common problem and are quick to state that Whirlpool holds no liability for this problem. Ramping the complaint up to a customer service supervisor is met with the same canned response. Regardless of the thousands of complaints Whirlpool is claiming that it is normal wear and tear for the tub bearings to fail. The manufacturer should recall the units for this manufacturing defect in the Cabrio design.

Whirlpool microwave model # gh4184xsb1 handle is falling apart. I have replaced the hood vent twice and the entire door once and now, its the same problem again. The plastic becomes brittle over a year to two years of use and falls apart. Whirlpool will only stand by their one year warranty, and is not concerned about a problem that many of its customers are having. I have read many complaints on the web about this same problem. My wife and I have decided never to purchase Whirlpool products again.

Bought my 5 door refrigerator from Lowes in December 2016. Was delivered in January. Had a dent in the door so another new one was ordered that arrived in late January. From day one the dual ice makers have not made enough ice for our family. I called Lowes to have it checked out thru warranty. The repairman came out and said Its making ice. I cant fix something that is not broke. He suggest I buy a under the counter ice maker. What the heck! I pay over $3000.00 For dual ice makers and still dont have enough ice to supply my family. Cant believe Whirlpool puts out a dual ice maker in a refrigerator and it cant even supply a family of 5. The repairman said a normal family size is 3. I dont know where he came from but to me thats not normal. He was from Tutor Appliance Repair and was very rude until he realized he pissed me off then he blamed it on Whirlpool. The refrigerator is beautiful but Id rather have my old one. It made more ice than this new one does. Will I buy whirlpool again? No I wouldnt. If they cant stand behind their product and what its suppose to do then I dont need it. Bad thing I have to deal with this one for a while until I can purchase a new and better one. If you have this refrigerator dont plan on having guest or family dinners it will not hold up for ice tea. Not to mention after dinner drinks. Model # WRV986FDEM01. SeriAL # K63817128.

The clothes have a stale and mold smell. The whites like tee shirts and shorts and other whites are a dingy yellowish color. The detergent that was recommended and pellets used every month do not work. I have called and complained several times and the operator said that she had one and it works fine, the other person said to wipe the inside of the washer and leave the door open after each wash and not to store the dirty laundry in the washer till next use. They never explained that you have to run a special pellet through the afresh clean washer cycle. Well, we have tried it every time and the clothes still do not clean and stink bad. We asked them for an exchange and they said no. Is there anything we can do?

My fridge stainless steel doors rusted on after Whirlpool Customer Service
My fridge stainless steel doors rusted on after Whirlpool Customer Service told me to buy and use Affresh (a Whirlpool product) to clean them! The fridge was only 12 days old when this occurred, imagine my shock and disappointment. Whirlpool Customer Service reps then sent me another one of their products Whirlpool Stainless Steel Brightener with instructions to clean it every day for 3 weeks and it would resolve the rust problem. It didnt resolve the rust problem. 2 repairmen from different companies have looked at the doors and shook their heads that Whirlpools own Customer Service department recommended a product for a fridge that rusted it and then they take no responsibility for it! Whirlpool knows these stainless steel fridges have the potential to rust. Its listed in their manual. Unfortunately, buyers arent given a copy of that manual to peruse BEFORE they buy the product. I would never have purchased this Whirlpool fridge had I seen that! I have now since read of other Whirlpool stainless steel fridges rusting.

Refrigerator is good, keeps food at a good temperature, freezer keeps even ice cream solid. Only fault is draw in freezer does not hold as much as the old bottom freezer with separate unit for a draw. The refrigerator is nice looking and does the job. It just seems that manufacturers are always trying to make things better, but usually features were fine in older models.

We bought our stainless and black Whirlpool stove last month. We love that its black topped, and doesnt show dirt. We love how the oven door seals, and the fast heat. What we do NOT love, is how easily the knobs turn. You barely brush against them, and gas leaking into the kitchen. I called for service. Our guy said yes, they turn easier than most of the stoves he has worked on. He called tech support from my kitchen, and I overheard the guy at the other end. His response was dismissive. I have had gas ovens for 20 years. They have without exception, had a spring type feeling to the knob. This stove has none. I am writing this so that if others are experiencing the same thing, they will see it is not their imagination. Something is wrong with the design of the knobs or some part is missing.

Purchased the machine in 2008 for $800. I did not have any problems (wash 3-4 loads/week), pleased with the washing until July 2015 when the machine was spinning out of control and the machine moved approx. 1 foot across the floor (thank goodness I did not have it on a pedestal as it may have tipped over). I canceled the run. This was a fine washables load of 5 sweaters placed on a medium spin.Scheduled the Whirlpool authorized service tech to come out and fix. He indicated there is extensive repair required and would cost approx. $1800. And indicated he has seen this failure before and it is due to the plastic parts inside. Also, he has seen these washers last about 5-7 years before replacement. Wow, last washer I had was a Maytag and it lasted 15 years costing 1/3 the price of the Whirlpool Duet. Now perplexed on what to buy, called Whirlpool Customer Experience Center to register my complaint and asked if there were any updates to the product that would avoid this failure. The center indicated there are updates but they are confidential and did not know if this failure was addressed.

Purchased my Whirlpool dishwasher in 2005 model number GU2500XTPQ3. So it worked for about 10 years and I am fairly happy with that but I have a warning, my control panel shorted out putting out thick black smoke and I was unable to turn off the dishwasher. I had to turn off the switch at the breaker box. If my wife had of been the only one home she would not have known how to turn it off and would have had to call the fire department. I dont know if the short would have led to an actual fire but with that much heat I have to believe it would have. Warning, dont run the dishwasher when no one is home. Hope this helps someone.

I am sure this will be removed quickly... But my advice to my fellow consumers is do not purchase Whirlpool appliances. They do not stand behind their products and they are a nightmare to deal with. I purchased my range (Model WEE730H0D50) May 8, 2017 and from that day the oven never work (the board was out on a brand new product). They arranged a service tech to come out 3 times. Each time the service tech discovered the replace board was damaged. So I have not been able to use my oven since I bought it in May. 3 months later now the stove top stopped working. You would think after all these issues they would replace their product. But nope I have to wait 2 weeks to get this lemon serviced again... I have young children at home which makes things worse...

This morning another chunk of our Whirlpool Microwave handle fell off while I was cooking breakfast. I got on the internet after breakfast and typed in whirlpool microwaves to see if anyone else had experienced problems with their microwave handles and found this site. We purchased a Whirlpool Microwave oven from Lowes in 2011 (over the range model). About two weeks after it was installed, I noticed a crack in the handle. Then a few days after that, a small chunk of glass/plastic fell off of the handle when I shut the microwave door. Since that time, the door handle has been steadily disintegrating. Sometimes chunks of plastic fall off when one shuts the door, even if you are very gentle. Chunks of plastic fall off nearly every time I clean the microwave door, even if I dont touch the handle. Sometimes chunks fall off randomly when Im not even using the microwave. Pieces of plastic have fallen into my cooking pots a few times. Perhaps the steam from the cooking food loosens the cheap glue holding the handle on? What an inferior product! I am very dissatisfied with Whirlpool and will not recommend their products to anyone.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine is less than five years old. First repair
Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine is less than five years old. First repair was replacement of control panel (under warranty). Second, third and fourth attempts to fix the out-of-balance problem which continually caused the machine to shut down altogether (even a small load) left my repairman totally frustrated after replacing most of the parts, finally telling me it just cant be fixed! What? I paid over $1,000 for this machine in Oct. 2007 and expected it to last many, many years. My mother-in-law has a washing machine she bought used in 1979 and it is still working beautifully. Ive read the 14 pages of complaints on the Consumer Affairs website and agree with Diana in Kissimmee, Fl - I am sick to my stomach not only for Whirlpool not recalling the Cabrio, but for Lowes and Sears and any other supposedly family-friendly business for continuing to sell it! Someone please contact me if you know of a class action suit being filed.

My complaint is basically the same as all the others. Clothes do not come clean in my brand new Whirlpool washer. Ive had two other Whirlpools, and they were fine. This one, however, is a piece of junk. One of the main problems is that the washer is designed to use only lukewarm water, even on the hot setting, it does not use hot water. Another problem is too little water. Another irritating factor is the constant locking of the lid. Another problem is the constant starting and stopping of the agitator. This cannot be good for the motor. Im at the point of giving away my new washer which Ive had for exactly one week. This is a totally inferior product, and I feel that I have been really ripped off.

Is that how whirlpool trains their service people!? He doesnt even have the basic courtesy to listen to the customer, I wonder how was he even recruited as a customer care person. After being on hold 3 separate times for more than 12 minutes each time, they scheduled a repairman in a weeks time. He said the motor was bad and had to order. Wont be back out until after Christmas. I asked Whirlpool to replace this lemon. Customer service told me they never replace if they can fix. What if something else is wrong? They didnt care. Very rude. Told me manager would tell me the same thing. Never buy Whirlpool. Appliances are faulty and customer service rude. This has been a nightmare experience. I have had my Cabrio for a year now and quite frankly, I find more satisfaction taking all of my laundry to a local laundromat. There is no soak cycle and when you have a kid in sports, that doesnt help. There is no agitator, and I am now convinced that they were originally in all washers for a reason. My clothes have all worn out and are shredding, not to mention my very expensive bath towels that I am now cutting into rags. This was the worst purchase I have ever made in my life and will never even look at a Whirlpool again. When I bought my house, I had a Maytag that was 35 years old and it did a better job than the new Cabrio. Should have stuck with that brand!

I purchased a Whirlpool duet, model #wfw9550ww00, two years ago with added warranty. The machine stops mid-cycle. The time remaining flashes but no error code. Pressing start would begin the machine again. Sometimes, we could go several loads with no problems and other times it will stop three or four times in one load. Occasionally, pressing start would not work and the machine would require unplugging and restarting. We have had several service calls in. They have said it was the pump, then it was the motor, then it was the pressure switch, and yet the problem persists. They are due to come out again tomorrow for yet another examination to determine its cause. Its the third time in one month. Its a lemon.

Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for
Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for over 25 years and done a great job of washing my heavily soiled clothes. One day it refused to run and I tried to get parts for it but it had become obsolete and no parts were to be found for it, so I had to buy a new washer. I chose whirlpool again and let me say that it was a huge mistake. This model is a low water, high efficiency, top loading machine. It has nubs in the bottom that agitate to clean the clothes. The first time that I used the machine, I found that I had made a mistake purchasing this machine. It does not clean the clothes and there is NOTHING efficient about this machine. I have to run the washer twice to clean my clothes and they are still not clean. It leaves soap in the clothes and does not rinse them clean of the soap. What it does very well is extract water from the clothes during the spin cycle. This washer really turns up the high RPM`s on spin cycle. It has ripped apart several of my shirts during spin cycle. Whirlpool really failed badly on this machine. I see clearly now that Whirlpool is not the company that they used to be back in the 1980`s. I still have the whirlpool dryer that I bought back in the 1980`s and it still works very well. To end this story, I loaded up this NEW WASHER in the back of my truck and took it to the scrap yard and I asked them to destroy it in front of my eyes. I wished that I had recorded the destruction of this piece of JUNK and posted it on YouTube for the world to see. I got over $450.00 of pleasure watching the crane operator completely destroy this pile of crap. GREAT JOB WHIRLPOOL … YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER FOREVER. I WILL NEVER BUY ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE and will advise others not to buy Whirlpool products as well. I am a male, 62 years old and work hard for my ill spent money on your JUNK. Life is always a trial, live and learn the hard way. Warning to all consumers. Do not buy Whirlpool products ever!!!! On December 24, I was planning my annual Christmas Eve dinner when my oven
On December 24, I was planning my annual Christmas Eve dinner when my oven just decided to quit working completely. This was the third time my oven broke down on me. I called Whirlpool and they pretty much told me theyll get to me when they can but it was the holiday. So I understood that it would be a few days. I had a technician come out to my house on December 27 and tell me that he needed to order a fuse. He called all over the state to find one but no one had one so he put it as an emergency. The technician did everything he could to accommodate me but could only do so much. So I waited and waited but heard nothing.Today, January 3, I called the department to see when my part was going to be here and they tell me January 10 - unacceptable. I called the management team and spoke with Tiffany who pretty much just told me, Sorry. You have to wait five business days to find out if the part is available. If not, then we can discuss sending new ovens. Why would we have to wait five business days from January 3 when it was ordered on December 27? Look, Im a very reasonable woman and this is the first time I have ever complained online about a company. But I have gone 10 days without an oven and I have a family that I cook for daily. My ovens are four months old so this should not be happening. And when it does, there should be parts to fix it or a replacement on hand because no family should have to go without an oven when they just paid a ** load of money for it. Customer Service should be a little more sympathetic and a little less about business because at the end of the day, theyre not the ones suffering, we are. Also if this part is on back order, that tells me that this probably happens often. Maybe Whirlpool should recall this oven model because whoever heard of an oven overheating? Get it together. I will spread the word of mouth about my experience!

I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly
I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly from Whirlpool through DirectBuy on April 19, 2010. The unit was a relatively high-end model (over $2,000) that came with a 12-month warranty. Thirteen months after purchase and 1 month after warranty expiration, the ice maker stopped working flooding the kitchen in the process. We called Whirlpool who recommended one of their authorized maintenance subcontractors (GuinCo) to appraise the problem. GuinCo came out, diagnosed that a valve in the ice maker had gone bad and the repair cost us $364. We chalked that up to Murphys Law (repair needed immediately after warranty expiration). Not 4 months later, the kitchen comes up flooded again and again and the ice makers not working. We call GuinCo, the repairman come out and said this time that its a heater and ice maker defect which will cost $643 to repair. He also said that the unit has been designated as having a design defect. We held off on the repair until we could contact Whirlpool for some remediation since it has become obvious that the unit is a lemon. I called Whirlpool, laid out the problems, timelines and potential cost (ice maker failures are going to cost us almost half of what the entire refrigerator cost before the unit is a year and a half old) and the only response they had netted out to was: Sorry, you should have had extended warranty. This is a prime example of an American manufacturer, marketing an inferior product and offering the customer nothing when the lack of quality becomes obvious. I will recommend to anyone I know to stay as far away from Whirlpool products as long as I live.

Cabrio washing machine WTW8600YW0 - Had this washer for 3 years. Its been repaired a few times, but this last time theyve replaced the bearings 3 times and it only lasts less than 1 week. This $1000 washer is now going on the trash. I tried to get help from WP, to no avail. There is a reason these are only warranted 1 year. One thing I liked about it: the fast spin speed gets clothes drier. Every other aspect is crap. Cleans very poorly. You cant make it use enough water. The tub looks huge because it doesnt have a conventional agitator. But if you put much in there you will end up rewashing in small loads because then it REALLY cleans poorly. I bought this because my trusted appliance store owner buddy said he owned one. When I asked him lately he doesnt talk much except admits that yes they have had a LOT of trouble with these machines. The life is very short on them. The wonderful fast spin speed destroys the light bearings quickly. And it gets worse the more its worked on. Its a disposable $1000 piece of trash. Im an engineer, and whoever designed this should have his degree revoked. The type of agitator it has and the extreme low water is very hard on your clothes. One zipper left loose will shred your clothes. I wanted to love the thing, but I have to hate it because it is unrepairable. If you could control the water and if it lasted at least 5 years without having to rebuild it several times at greater cost than it was purchased for, I might be less than rabidly angry at WP. They know they are junk but dont care. You have few choices as they now own most brands, and they know this. I have a Speed Queen on order. Just a plain old simple washer.

I purchased a Whirlpool Microwave on 9/21/10 from Hamilton-Bryan in Wichita Falls, Texas. I had a small fire in my microwave on 9/19/11, due to a faulty mica board. This was replaced by Mr. Bobs in Wichita Falls, TX, under the warranty. Then on 1/9/12, the microwave would not warm anything. I called Mr. Bobs again, and they said the transformer was out. I called Whirlpool, and was told by Yvonne that Whirlpool would replace the part only, with no labor, but Mr. Bobs was closed, and to call back in the morning, so this authorization could be set up with Mr. Bobs. I called back and there was no record of my call with Yvonne. I talked to a supervisor Rachel in Tennessee. She put me on hold for a while and finally said she found Yvonnes note to authorize the part. I explained to each person I talked to that I was dissatisfied with Whirlpool. I believe I have a defective microwave. I would like my money back, or a new microwave. I believe the defective mica board is related to the defective transformer. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I have used Whirlpool most of my adult life. I have used them since the 1970s. I currently have a Whirlpool refrigerator, washer, and dryer. A similar situation like this occurred when I bought a Samsung washer. I was dissatisfied, and Samsung refunded my money, and I bought a Whirlpool washer to replace Samsung. I will not be satisfied with this situation, until the microwave is replaced. Thank you for your concern and attention to this matter.

We got a brand new bottom freezer french door Whirlpool refrigerator in our brand new apartment. Since we moved in last week the temperature control in the refrigerator box has failed three times. The freezer stays cold but the coils are frosted solid and no cooling gets up to the refrigerator box. We turned on moisture control but that didnt help. The users manual is completely useless and in fact doesnt even match the control panel. The numbers for temperature settings on the instructions dont match the numbers on the panel. We had to turn off and thaw out the unit completely three times already and this is just the first week! Last night the building maintenance guys came in and sprayed the back panel of the freezer with warm water. He said he talked to the GE tech, who suggested we also increase the freezer temperature settings to 4 and the refrigerator to 44. But this morning the temperature rose again. It sure sounds to me like the daily defrost cycle isnt running at all and nobody wants to consider that possibility. Thaw the unit several times a week is completely ridiculous. Our food has experienced so many temperature excursions who knows whether its any good now. I cant wait to get my first taste of salmonella. This is what you get when you combine junk with poor service.

If I could give no stars I would. I own the Whirlpool Cabrio, which I bought only 2 years ago. Im on my 3rd service call. They replaced my board after only 1 year of owning it and now 2years later its the same error message (F6E2), the board again. Besides this problem the machine is horrible! Every load has to be done on the deep water mode or else your clothes will come out with dry areas. Forget about darks - they come out with lint and soap residue all over them. So for darks you have to use extra rinse cycle but still the clothes come out with lint all over them. Laundry has turned into a nightmare for me. And the clothes arent clean. If I dont spray and scrub any stains, the clothes come out with the stain still on them. Dirty white socks come out dirty, even with bleachI dont use warm water on my clothes because it shrinks them and I dont put all of my clothes in the dryer because it shrinks them. So I am constantly using lint rolls, like crazy on all my darks. And even though the machine is very large I was told to never put a lot of laundry in it because nothing will get clean. So now I have to do more loads of wash. Doing laundry has turned into a job, a horrible job that takes hours. So now I have to use deep water, extra rinse and smaller loads so how is this energy efficient - its NOT, its the opposite of efficient. I am doing more wash and using more water. I use liquid HE detergent like they said. I clean my washer when it lights up to clean it. I dont know what else to do. I just called whirlpool about all of this and my second board being broke within 2 yrs and they dont stand by their products. I have to just keep getting it fixed through my extended warranty company. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty.I would never ever buy anything whirlpool again! Dont buy this washer if its still available, it is the worst. Even if cabrio isnt available (which I dont see on their site) I still wouldnt buy whirlpool. They should replace my machine with a different one at this point. Not that I want another whirlpool but at least I would have a machine that works. This machine completely stopped working after the error code so I have no machine for 4 days now. I waiting for my extended warranty to get back to me and then I have to make an appointment for the appliance company to come and fix it. This is crazy. All these days and I cant do laundry. This is not acceptable!

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio topload washer (WTW7800XW2) in April 2011. In May 2012, I noticed the door was broken on both sides. It has now popped up and is broken so bad that it can barely be used without replacing it. I called Lowes, where it was purchased, to quickly be told that there was nothing they could do because it is out of the years warranty. This is just such a copy out to have an excuse, so that they would not even offer any assistance. Also, I paid $2,000.00 for the set; I bought the dryer as well. I just could not imagine an expensive machine like this having such a problem. Prior to buying this machine, I had my washer for 10 years. It has no problem; it was just time to buy a newer model, so I thought! After the store (Lowes) would not help, I decided to call Whirlpool; and the woman I spoke with was even less help. Andrea said there was nothing they could do since it was outside the year of manufacturers warranty. She seemed glad to have this as an excuse. I told her this is too much money to have something like this to happen. I told her it is obvious the door was defective. She said again sorry but that theres nothing she could do. She did offer to sell me a warranty for a year for $327.52. This was too expensive. I asked her what else could she do, and she told me nothing. I asked how much the door was, and she told me $212.00. I feel like I have been royally and deliberately ripped off, and Whirlpool knows it. I say to anyone reading this to please be aware if you are purchasing this product. You will most likely be sorry you invested all this money for it. You will get a companys brand that does not care and will not stand by their product.

18 months ago, we purchased a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer. Having previously only purchased Whirlpool washers and dryers for over 40 years, we decided to continue because we had enjoyed positive experiences with all of our previous purchases over the years. Now, our washer has quit working properly, the door locks and wont open on the washer and the repairman arrived today with parts to replace based on the code messages popping up on the washer screen. However, now, hes not certain if the motor has burned out or if it is some other problem. We also purchased a French door frig from Whirlpool barely 13 months ago (bottom freezer) and recently had to have that repaired when one of the electronic boards went out and the freezer quit working and icing up.In both of these cases, the appliances started giving us problems just as soon as the warranties were up; what has happened to Whirlpool reliability and dependability of their products? We cant help but feel that our China-based parts are part of the change and will, in the future, not purchase any more Whirlpool products. We are grossly disappointed and feel cheated with these appliances.

Purchased model # WRX7355D8MOO through Lowes summer of 2013. By summer of 2014 ice started building up under freeze drawer. Little did I realize the compressor was failing, air flow was stopped up. Ice maker failed. In 2016 water dispenser calibration off, freezer failed. Called in certified Whirlpool repair. They spent three days troubleshooting problems. Repairmen told me, not to spend any more money to repair this fridge, buy a new fridge. I spent $2300 on this fridge. Its only 2 1/2 years old. Whirlpool better get their quality control issues resolved or shut down the plant. I know many part are made in Mexico, poor quality. Why pay for an expensive appliance that only last two years.

I have had my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine for 14 years. I feel this is very dependable and cleans my clothes efficiently. I love the large stainless steel tub without the agitator. I can fit a king size comforter in the machine. The only problem I had with it was to clean the lint out which I would assume would have to be done to any machine that is used every other day for 14 years. Love it!

We purchased our Whirlpool Cabrio platinum washer about 3 years ago. I am completely frustrated with it. When it is on spin cycle, it sounds like a freight train going through my house. During the rest of the washing... it squeaks. And right now this is the 5th attempt to wash the same load of laundry. Because it keeps getting unlevel and it will not continue after I move the clothes around to get it level. So I have to start all over. There is not a spin cycle option that is available by itself. Every time I have to choose the rinse/drain/spin option. Obviously it is not under warranty anymore! Only a one year warranty... really pathetic! And when we called they offered us a little discount to buy another one. No thank you!!! Wont ever buy Whirlpool again.

We bought the Whirlpool Duet set for $1,000 18 months ago. About four months ago, it started shredding our clothes. I would get them out with holes in them, but there was nothing sharp in the washer. Then the grey outside seal started deteriorating and getting tiny balls of rubber all over my clothes, ruining several white shirts. It always smells like mold. I just went to get my clothes out of it to find out it leaked water all over with that disintegrated rubber from the seal. The seal had completely ripped from the top to the bottom drain for no apparent reason. Now we are replacing the below. We JUST paid it off this month. It is crazy, it is already breaking!

Purchased on 7/9/18, was alerted of gas leak on 11/24/18, gas company had shut off gas to the unit. After finally getting through to their customer service in December, they scheduled an inspection with a local repair company they contract. It is now January 15, 2019 and I still have not had any resolve to this. Whirlpool is washing their hands of any responsibility, and doing nothing to help find a solution for a defective burned out piece in their oven, which the repair tech said he’s only seen in units over 10 years old. I do not feel confident or safe about this range. I bought this new from Best Buy, 4.5 months of having this in my home, after 1 oven use this happens.

I purchased this machine, a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW5640XW, from Lowes on Dec. 11, 2010. I just realized today, Dec. 24 2012, I had a 2-year extended warranty plan! Shame on me. At any rate the washing machine is very hard on clothing, tearing light fabrics and ruining my wifes bras. The clothes often come out with shreds of fabric from the other clothes in the washer. Oftentimes, it will not complete a cycle because it constantly goes out of balance. Today I paused the machine halfway through the wash cycle after the soak cycle to throw in some more laundry and start the cycle over. Half the clothes were still dry! Yes it may save water, but if you only use a cup of water for a load of clothes, how well can it clean? My wife has sensitive skin. So now we wash a load with extra rinse and normal soap then run the cycle again with no soap to get the soap residue rinsed out. Were saving big now! Yes, we are using HE detergent and the recommended amount. The machine is pure junk. I would love to see a class action suit against Whirlpool for selling such an inferior product. I know thats asking a lot in the land of no accountability we live in today, but one can always dream.

Nope. 1 - It rarely dries everything completely. e.g., the collars of t-shirts or turtleneck shirts are damp after the load is finished. I have to run the machine again....Energy efficient? Energy schmefficient. and I havent even TRIED to use the low heat delicate cycle. 2 - The cute modern buttons are hard to push in. 3 - The top of the machine doesnt have a level lid... Its curved. Not very useful for setting anything on while you work at any part of your laundering process.

Mind you, Whirlpool products that we have purchased in the past have been satisfactory, but gas hot water heaters, no! About four years ago we purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater that went out in a little over a year. After spending many calls and time, we found out that the HWH was on soft recall. Whirlpool credited our account, but this was to purchase another Whirlpool, which we did. We paid for installation. About 2 years later, it has gone out. Same problem. Lowes says not their problem. Whirlpool says it will pay for the part only. Plumber will cost 150-200 dollars. All the plumbers I have talked to will not repair them, then they are held responsible when it goes out! As a disabled Vet I cannot afford to throw 400-600 dollars away. And, Whirlpool tells me that if they give me an RA number to replace the HWH, it will have to be a Whirlpool from Lowes. Great! Whirlpool quarterly report looks very good. Mine doesnt look as good. What can be done about a poor working product? Or is this too big to fail? Let me know.

I wait for more than 30 days for parts to arrive and my dishwasher to be fixed. Called Whirlpool/Flamingo. Both dont give confirmation as to when the parts will arrive (note they havent been shipped by distributor). Wow seriously??? Please Im already facing inconvenience since more than month on a brand New appliance. They say no compensation no replacement. Only I will have to wait indefinite time for dishwasher to be shipped and repaired. So much of inconvenience and customer service says she will not call me back and I will have to follow up? This washer has been a lemon since the day we bought it. Always leaves marks all over dark clothes. Had to have a part replaced before we owned it a year & repairman from the company said they have to replace that same part every time they go out so they carry them on the truck. Latch broke after owning it for less than 2 years & now it no longer spins water out of clothes. All this & we havent even owned it 3 years. I had a GE washer for years when I first got married & had children. Never had problems like this. Paid it off on Monday & on Friday it became a piece of junk. How is Whirlpool getting away with this misrepresentation? I dont even see how they can call it a washer.

This is about my Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer machine (model number WTW6200SWD, serial # CT3670597). I bought this machine in 2007, and soon after, I was having problems with the F1 code. After several trips back and forth to reset the code, so I can get the laundry done, and many frustrations, it was time to call Whirlpool to resolve the problem. I find out that there was a recall for this ongoing issue. They sent a technician to replace the mother board, and everything was fine for some time. Soon after, the machine was giving us more problems with the F1 code, and the UL code. It doesnt matter which way I try to balance the load. This piece of junk will not work. Whirlpool needs to stand behind this issue, and recall this washing machine for good. Every customer should be entitled to a full refund, and a compensation for the many hours of electricity, aggravation, and frustration, wasted trying to get this junk to work.

We purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher in August of 2014 (Model #WDT710PAYM6)
We purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher in August of 2014 (Model #WDT710PAYM6) and it broke for the first time in the summertime of 2015, so it was still under warranty. The manufacturer set us up with a local company to fix it. First of all, the guy comes out to look at it and has no parts with him whatsoever to fix it once he figures out the problem. So we ended up waiting for over a month before our dishwasher was fixed. That is a long time to have to hand wash dishes, especially with the amount that we go through each day. I know that ranting about having to hand wash dishes is such a first world problem thing to complain about, but my gosh...if I buy a brand new dishwasher for a good amount of money, I shouldnt have to hand wash my stupid dishes!!It has now broken AGAIN and it is no longer under warranty. We called Whirlpool to see what they could do because it should not be breaking this often. They told us we could either spend $250 for a years worth of maintenance on it, or just pay out of pocket. So you want me to pay $250 or more to fix a dishwasher that we spent over $400 on that has broken twice in a year??? Ive been looking on their website for this model to leave a review and cannot find it, so that leads me to believe that it is discontinued. So thank you, Whirlpool for the piece-of-crap dishwasher. I can see you really take care of your customers when they call about their concerns too. I will NEVER buy any Whirlpool appliance again, and I will be sure to let all of my friends know they shouldnt either. If I could rate this with negative stars I would. So now we have to go out and purchase another dishwasher. Thank God Cyber Monday is here. So I cannot say it enough, do not, do not, do not buy a Whirlpool. If you do, youll find its actually a Whirl-poo, because its a POS.

Purchased this beautiful sleek Cabrio washer in May 2012 from Appliance Smart, with its modern looking glass top, it looked so nice. The washer itself works ok for now, but it does unbalance a lot, thats not main issue. We deal with that. The poor design of holding that sleek glass top in is the problem. After a little over two years, it started cracking at the hinge that is just mounted in Plastic which holds the whole lid down, including the heavy glass. The glass started raising up, causing steam to escape. The lid is rubbing and very difficult to open. Appliance Smart is gone now.. We called the service repair person about 6 months ago, he looked at it, said its a problem that is not covered on our warranty and it would be approx $350.00 to repair!! So today, tomorrow or next week it will stop working because the lid is popping off! Its a terrible design, dont be fooled by its sleek look. The manufacturer takes no responsibility for this major design flaw. Beware, the very thing you need to be fixed wont be covered under warranty, lemon law, or just good customer service. We have owned several Whirlpool appliances and doubt that we will own one again, due to the way this issue was handled by Whirlpool.

After installation water began pouring all over, gallons of it; it took a month to get fixed. The microwave door has a large defect and the surface light does not work; it is still not fixed. I purchased this refrigerator and have had problems with it from almost the beginning. First, the doors wholl not stay open long enough to remove items. The technician Whirlpool sent out said the cause was an uneven floor. I checked with a level and the floor is almost completely even. So, then it said thats the way it was intended to work. Isnt that what the adjustment wheels on the bottom are supposed to correct? They dont. One individual in Whirlpools customer service department told me that the doors were not a functional part of the fridge and, therefore were not covered by the warranty. What?Next the refrigerator leaked and ruined the ceiling in the floor below. A few weeks after that was fixed (the fridge, not the ceiling), the unit completely shut down and I lost a tremendous amount of food. Bad enough to have to go through this but then to have Whirlpool treat me so the horribly was absurd. Fridge broke on Friday and a service person came out on Wednesday. Tech tells me he has to order the part (control box) and I find out the next day that the part was on back order. I had already been without a fridge for a week when Whirlpool tells me the part was not available until 9/19 (this was on 8/6)! That was not an acceptable solution so I requested a refund or a new fridge. Nope, their job is to repair, not replace. They said they needed 7-10 days to see if they could get the part earlier. What? Then if it couldnt be repaired in a reasonable amount of time they would consider replacing the appliance. They would not define reasonable amount of time.I believe I spoke to about 10 or 12 different whirlpool reps, and was told 4 times that a supervisor would return my call. One person did call back when I was unable to answer the phone and I called her back within 20 minutes. Guess what, she wasnt available and she never responded to my 3 return calls. When I complained that I had spoken to so many different people and was tired of telling the fridge saga to yet another person who would not help me, she volunteered to be my point person. She gave me her direct extension and said she would handle my case. I left 3 or 4 messages for her and she never returned my call. In other words, I was constantly told that I would receive return calls but never did. In summary, no one cared that I had an almost brand new Whirlpool refrigerator that was not working and that the date I could expect a repair was indefinite. In addition to all of that, every time I called they were experiencing a high call volume. Maybe they could hire more staff? When this all started, Home Depot told me I had to go through Whirlpool because it was under their warranty for the first year. Finally I decided to go to the store (after all, I did pay them for the fridge). After 3.5 hours in Home Depot, they agreed to replace the refrigerator. I havent gotten it yet (they did send over a small loaner), I am really hoping this is the end of this fiasco. I want my life back!! !

The second machine three years later is now also needing repairs. I spent a total of over $1,400 in 7 years on two washing machines not including repairs and parts. It also took forever to find the parts, so I went without use of a washer for one month. I called customer service and said they couldnt do anything for me the second time around with them. I will never buy another Whirlpool ever! You would think a company would care about their customers but they dont. They make their stuff cheap and charge an outrageous price.
