We have the Cabrio model and are thoroughly pleased with the performance. My only issue is the amount of sounds during the spin cycle. Otherwise, the machine is quiet. I like having the automatic dispensers for soap, bleach and fabric softener. Not having the classic tub makes loading a little different as the clothes need to be distributed around the side of the tub and avoid the center.

First, the storage drawer doesnt close properly aligned. When viewed from the side it looks off kilter. This is because the foot of the range interferes with it closing. Second, what is with the bright blue color of the time/temp on the computer screen? Everything else in the kitchen is green, but now I have bright blue(?).

This 29.5 cu foot fridge will not keep a steady temperature and it has had 5 Warranty visits in its first 3 months since new. It has had several Large components changed out including the Freezer door, water valves, electronic boards, gaskets, and more. I was NOT able to get it labeled as a lemon and returned to Lowe’s simply because I accepted Warranty work to be done in the first 30 days which then disables any chance to return the unit. If I had asked for it to be returned in the first 30 days with the First bad issues I could have. Now I am stuck with it and I dislike the fridge and will never buy another Whirlpool or any other appliance from Lowe’s.

I am not satisfied with your customer service, as my microwave is not working from last 4 or 5 months but no one cares for it. From my point of view if someone will ask me for you to provide service, I will never recommend you.

Purchased first water heater in 2008 with 6 year warranty. In 2011, pilot light would not stay lit. Whirlpool told me to go to Lowes and get a new one at no cost. But I had to pay for service to identify the problem and installation of new one, costing $250.00. A year and a half later on a six year warranty, the same issue the pilot light not staying lit. They send a pilot light assembly and we pay the shipping and installation cost of $130.00.Two years later, the same issue begins again. Calling tech support, they determine it needs a third pilot assembly at $30.00 for shipping and $265.00 service installation fee by a certified Whirlpool technician. Worked one day! Im so done with this company!!!! I was promised a call from a supervisor with Whirlpool which Im still waiting on days later. Probably for the best at this point. I think I would feel better if I could beat the crap out of a Whirlpool CEO with it! Im cutting my losses and going with a different provider. I will NEVER again purchase another Whirlpool product!

We purchased our brand new home ten years ago and we were thrilled it had a double wall oven unit that I had always dreamed of owning. Well, the first time I used the self-cleaning mode that dream became a nightmare! The oven was in cleaning mode and I was so happy as I had never had a self-cleaner before! When the cleaning was done, the door remained locked and the control panel was not working. After making sure it was cooled the next day, I called for warranty repair. They came out and fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thinking it was just a glitch and went on with life. Due to my husband’s business, we only live in the house part time as we do extensive traveling. My children are grown, so my cooking is mainly holidays and birthdays when we all get together. Since it is used so seldom, the need to clean is not as often as others might be. The next two times I cleaned it the same thing happened. The third time they came out they informed me that it was getting too hot in the cleaning mode and the steam was going into the computer panel and melting the electrical wire. They also said I would no longer be under warranty and from now on it would be my issue. The next two times I cleaned the oven, I did so the old fashioned way and skipped the self-cleaning. This week my oven started beeping and giving me a code and will not work. I called my trusted repair man and this is what I learned. The computer board is probably toasted. They no longer make the board, so he will have to send it out to be rebuilt. This will take 10 to 14 days and the cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $650.00! Are you kidding me?! How is this my issue? I have checked faithfully every few months, assuming that others are having the same issues, and that Whirlpool would be doing the right thing and recalling these ovens. Stupid me! This last time I had not even used the oven in three days and it still went out? I am old enough to remember when the first place you went to look for appliances was Whirlpool because they were good, they lasted and the company stood behind them. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. From now on they will be the last place I look! I’m not sure what is going to happen, but I can assure you I am not spending $650 to repair this piece of crap!

Worst refrigerator (French Door Refrigerator WRF989SDAB00) ever! Even though this Technical Service Pointer was issued, it takes forever to get any satisfaction from Whirlpool. They were not pleasant to deal with when calling the Whirlpool Corporation. I had to research the problem while on the phone with their service representatives. The technician arrives and confirms that the evaporator in the fresh food section is indeed the problem but then it takes days for the parts to come in and then another appointment will be scheduled. Whirlpool does not provide good customer service. A refrigerator should last more than three years. Very disappointed and would never recommend Whirlpool to anyone.

Our home came with an Asko dishwasher, theoretically a premium device though the experience was not the best. Anyways, had to replace it after a few years and decided to buy a Whirlpool under the assumption that if an Asko kind of sucks, being so expensive, it was not worth the money to spend big bucks on an expensive dishwasher. I could not have been more wrong! Bought a middle of the pack Whirlpool, I think we spend around $500. Complete junk. I had to use our Sears home warranty like 6 times. They replaced two times the computer board, all the sensors another couple of times, motor, you name it! Worst part is that all of the non essentials part that also broke off (wheels, and plastic pieces of the door) were not covered by Sears warranty so I had to end up using glue and all kind of contraptions to keep them together. Finally, when we decided to put our house in the market we replaced this junk with a Bosch. So far so good. Whirlpool actually never even washed properly, now with the Bosch we finally know what it means to have a dishwasher that really washes for real!

Whirlpool Cabrio 6600 SW2 - Somehow a coin or two (?) are under the tub. It is not a high pitched sound. Just sounds like the machine is rubbing against the tub or something when it is being used. It does an excellent job of washing and spin drying the clothes, but the noise irritates my wife, which then irritates me. I took the top piece off and can see a coin DOWN there, but cannot reach it. Must I turn the machine upside down and try to shake the coin(s) out?

All theyd say is its government regulation fault but for $100 they could send a technician to ensure it is working as designed. To environmental reasons for the new design, seems to me it missed the mark. Longer cycles, extra washes, extra rinses... All I can say is - Unbelievable!!!

I purchased this machine in April and already, the right leg is rusted and the under seam of machine is rusted. I have throw rug under it and where the leg is, there is rust on the rug. I called service from Whirlpool and 2 servicemen came out. The first one told me I was loading it wrong and the water was splashing over the inside tub to rust the leg and I asked, So why is the seam under the machine rusted? No answer. The second one came out and told me he could not find anything wrong with the machine and doesnt know why it is rusting, but he never gave me a paper to sign off on. He also said that maybe it was rusted when it was delivered. Not!!! Then I call P.C. Richard in Watchung, NJ where I bought the machine at and told them about the problem. They sent a serviceman out and he said that the bleach condensation is causing the rust, its known fact that this machine has this problem. He said that the water does not run through the dispenser but there is a model that does. I want a credit on this machine and get the upgraded one. It states on the machine that I can use bleach but it doesnt say it will cause rusting. I want you to tell me how a 9-month-old machine is rusted on one leg and the seam underneath is also rusted!!!! I had a machine for 10 years and it wasnt rusted. I am very unhappy with this product and with the customer service of Whirlpool. This is my first Whirlpool washer and I would not recommend this washer to anyone. I paid $600.00 for this washer and it should not be rusting.

We have washed very small loads to large loads such as, bedding sets without any issues at all. We love the gorgeous look as well. We have only owned these since November 2015... so about 4 months now, but we are completely satisfied! The aqualift cleaning function is a joke, so be prepared to be down on your hands and knees scrubbing. Im careful, and Ive not spilled anything yet, but the oven still gets splatters from roasting meats, etc. Id hate to see what Ill have to deal with when I actually let something spill. Today, as I was down on my hands and knees trying to clean it, I noticed that the enamel is chipping off where the oven racks slide in. Great. Whatever you do, dont ever buy a Whirlpool French door refrigerator. For the last 5 months this $2,200 error in our judgement has not worked. We purchased it late last September and were so excited to enjoy this sleek machine. Wrong. In November a controller broke and the refrigerator portion froze over freezing everything and blowing apart the deli drawer. Then the ice maker was not working, it topped out at about 10 cubes a day. After that it acquired the lovely habit of shutting off every several minutes. 24 hours a day. Every time it would turn back on it would chime. 24 hours a day. And neither the refrigerator nor freezer portion would maintain temperature. Whirlpool keeps sending people out, turning us into their Guinea Pig while they try to come up with a solution. The chiming has finally stopped but we still dont have an ice maker and the light is intermittent. Another repair man is due tomorrow. So unless you have countless hours to spend waiting for and dealing with repairmen, making phone calls and enjoying throwing away spoiled food, dont waste your money with this company.

BEWARE THE TEMP CAN BE 25 degrees off high and 25 deg lower and Whirlpool says that is within specifications. My oven temp was set at 350 and nothing was cooked... After 7 repair calls with their certified repair companies (the 2 worst repair companies that I have ever used) I was told that if you set your oven at 350 that if it stays in between 325 and 375 that Whirlpool claims that it is working fine and will not do anything. I called and talked to customer service and asked the lady that if you set your oven at 350 should it stay within a few degrees of that and she said YES.The people that work at Whirlpool do not even know what kind of junk that their company is selling. I asked to return it and get a more expensive model hoping that it would work better but they said that they sell ovens and do not buy them. Be sure to get in writing from your sales person that your oven will constantly hold the temp within a few degrees. I tried to do the Whirlpool survey but after 11 attempts they said that there was errors in receiving and they did not get it. If you buy Whirlpool then you did not ask the right questions. I WILL NEVER BUY Whirlpool again (unfortunately I have a Whirlpool dishwasher and refrigerator that are not much better) and if you do you will say the same things and be out Thousands like I am.

I found it was very useful with different recipes that I liked to make. I always used it whenever possible to cut down on my cooking time because time is something we dont seem to have enough of. I have baked a lot of different items in my microwave, chickens, all kind of casseroles, cakes. You can even scramble eggs in this one!! I would like to know if anyone else is having trouble with the broiler unit. The unit quit working. Thankfully I had purchased the extended warranty. The guy came out, cleaned the orifice and called it good. The next day I went to use it, and guess what, it did not work!! So we thought maybe we needed to leave the oven door cracked open a bit... Well, guess what... It melted two of my knobs!! We called, got another guy out here. He checked everything. Even pulled the stove out to check out connections. Then he informs us that you can set the broiler to whatever temp you want. Thats new. So again, we try the broiler.... Guess what... It got to the temp and clicked off. Now I ask, how does one broil a steak if it does that? I did call Whirlpool directly and got nothing. Our model is WFG361LVQ2. So please, if anyone out there knows that this is how it is supposed to be... please let me know.

I have a top-freezer model WRT5715MYW. This week will mark the 3rd time Ive had a service call to complain about food freezing in the refrigerator compartment. The last time the repairman told me I couldnt place food in the center of the refrigerator since that is where the cold air from the freezer compartment comes down into the refrigerator compartment. This time when I called to schedule the repair call, the woman at the appliance store where I purchased this told me she also has a Whirpool refrigerator and she cant place any food on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator due to freezing. So this 21 cu ft refrigerator has a lot less usable space than I was led to believe when I purchased it. I would not recommend this product due to this reason. Beware of that channel that comes down the center of the back of the refrigerator. It seems like a design flaw to me.

Whirlpool Cabrio Purchased 12-7-2012 - what a piece of junk. Does not get clothes clean, rarely does she even spin out properly. Called because it kept walking across the basement floor. Informed that was the owners responsibility, not the store (Feidens in Latham). Always had good luck with them, bought all my appliances from them. Now I heard a loud bang and she threw up - water everywhere. What a mess.Had purchased special patio block at Home Depot to even her out and every time I used it which was not too often, it acted like the space shuttle ready to head down the runway! Not too happy with Feidens attitude with regard to this purchase. Not going to call them to fix it. Not an ready to pay to listen to their guff again. Expensive machine never worked well since it got here. I always wished for a Whirlpool, be careful what you wish for! Junk, nothing but junk. Only 3 years old and I only do laundry about every 3 or 4 weeks. Live alone, so she certainly was not overworked.

I had a 13 Year old working dishwasher when I bought this one. Sure wish I had left well enough alone. I think there should be a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool. I had also purchased a new electric range... It is constantly giving me an error message when I try to use the oven. We have to flip the breaker and that sometimes helps. Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine is less than five years old. First repair was replacement of control panel (under warranty). Second, third and fourth attempts to fix the out-of-balance problem which continually caused the machine to shut down altogether (even a small load) left my repairman totally frustrated after replacing most of the parts, finally telling me it just cant be fixed! What? I paid over $1,000 for this machine in Oct. 2007 and expected it to last many, many years. My mother-in-law has a washing machine she bought used in 1979 and it is still working beautifully. Ive read the 14 pages of complaints on the Consumer Affairs website and agree with Diana in Kissimmee, Fl - I am sick to my stomach not only for Whirlpool not recalling the Cabrio, but for Lowes and Sears and any other supposedly family-friendly business for continuing to sell it! Someone please contact me if you know of a class action suit being filed.

I purchased a new Whirlpool stove in Feb 2020. First off the oven was not calibrated right and Whirlpool wanted us to do all these tests to see what the problem was. Finally, after purchasing an oven thermometer I finally got my ducks in a row and called them back to which they finally sent out a repairman. Now after almost finishing supper last night the whole cooktop stopped working. It is going to take a week to get someone out to fix it. Also, we have to purchase an extended warranty for our Whirlpool refrigerator every year because it always needs something fixed. Our Whirlpool washer has been on the blink for quite some time (no warranty) and cant afford to get it fixed. When talking to someone at Whirlpool it appears they have no compassion. I guess it is because they are just paid employees. My recommendation is to look into other products before purchasing. Do your homework.

My old dishwasher washed much better than this one. For one thing, I do not think having the silverware basket in the door is a hindrance more than anything. For one thing, the silverware does not always get clean. Even some of the dishes do not get clean. I think the engineering of the dishwasher is poor. When you pull the bottom rack out to put more dirty dishes in, it gets caught on the silverware that are in the silverware basket in the door. Makes it very difficult to get the bottom rack out or in. I have no gripe on the size of the dishwasher. I would just like it to wash the dishes and silverware clean. The appearance of the dishwasher is good but that doesnt clean the dishes. I am more than satisfied with the appearance of it. I do like the buttons being at the top of the dishwasher so that a person cannot bump them when it is running. I just think the design of it could have been much better. My other dishwasher had the silverware basket inside on the bottom rack and I really liked that and if I ever buy another dishwasher, I would make sure that it is inside the dishwasher. I dont believe that Whirlpool is the company it used to be. I have an oven that has been nothing but a problem for me and it is a self-cleaning oven but I cant even use the self-cleaning feature because it blows something in it and it doesnt get hot and clean it. Have had it fixed twice and the company that sold it to us will not even talk to us about it. Im not sure that I would buy another Whirlpool appliance of any kind again.

Had a certified Whirlpool company come in and they could not figure it out. They called Whirlpool technicians and they were even unsure of what is wrong. Said they could keep ordering parts and trying them to fix the problem. And of course I would be responsible for the parts. And no guarantee it would be solve the problem. Called Whirlpool direct, to no satisfaction. They said they could send the same company out and have them call the tech line while on site and try to troubleshoot the problem. However, would have to wait another 3 days to get him out. Been a week without washer. I have had washers bought previously last over 10 years without any problems. If these machines are breaking or control boards are going out after about 4 years, then Whirlpool has a bigger problem. Whirlpool supervisor was only offering to maybe a discount on the parts needed, without even knowing if they could fix the problem. Seems to me like they really dont care. Very dissatisfied, will definitely not recommend this product to anyone. And if it ever gets fixed, I am going to sell them immediately.

I purchased a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator from Lowes for $1,100. It arrived missing a shelf. Last year, the warranty expired and the ice maker mysteriously failed. Next a drawer slide failed. Next the lights, both of them, failed. I was offered a service call, the estimate $300+. Next, the ice bucket bottom broke and filled the freezer with cubes. Next another drawer slide failed. Whirlpool makes an over-priced, poorly engineered, poorly made product and Lowes sells their products without any care for their customers. I will do my best to warn anybody who is interested that while Whirlpool used to be a good company, it has degraded into producing junk and trading on a once storied reputation. And Lowes touts these products without any interest in its consumers.

After only 6 months of use, the cooktop light bulb burned out. When I tried to replace it, the glass part of the bulb separated from the base. The bulb is screwed in so that the base faces away from the front of the microwave. With the small cavity and the backward installation, it will be impossible to remove. Now I have no light and dread how much a service call will be. The unit was installed by a contractor prior to our purchase of the house and it is now out of warranty.

18 months ago my husband and I bought our first Whirlpool washer and dryer to go with our first home. 6 months and the dryer stopped spinning. There was an issue with the belt. 12 months later the washer has stopped draining and spinning. It is 2 months since our first filed complaint with our extended warranty company and we still dont have a washer that works. I dont care if I have to take my laundry to the river and beat it with a rock. I will never buy whirlpool again.

Both are simple with a few of bells and whistles. That is remarkable in todays gotta have all of the fancy gadgets mindset. The Whirlpool machine does a very good job of washing clothing...period!

Purchased a Whirlpool hot water tank from Lowes 5/12 and have had NOTHING but problems with it since day 2. The tank I replaced was around 20 years old, never a drip, never a problem, it just finally rusted through.. Well this piece of JUNK I had installed is just that JUNK.. I have been in contact with this company many times, they ALWAYS have a new story. I replaced my old thermal expansion tank 3 months after buying this JUNK because I was told it could be that. Well that didnt fix anything and cost me $60.00, then it was pressure relief valve, ok, another $20.00, nope not that. Well back on the phone and emailing this company, now they tell me I am not vented correctly, because with all the repairs being done on this tank, my Son noticed the top plastic pieces melting. Well back on the phone I go, and of course Whirlpool tells me, its me again.. Had piles going into my chimney replaced, no help, replaced thermal expansion tank again, no help, replaced pressure relief valve, no help. So sick of cleaning up water I want to throw up. Well I now know why they say, do not return to store where you purchased it, because it is bad business to have Lowes parking lot, looking like a Whirlpool graveyard for their product. .

Bottom line is, there is no compensation with Whirlpool.

Pathetic pathetic service!!! Unsatisfactory service!!! First of all, I would like to tell everyone who ever reads this, that please please please never ever use any Whirlpool products, as their service sucks, their response sucks too, and zero co-operation from their people, which will make you regret to have used their products in future. Please note I registered a complaint on the whirlpool no. **.The complaint was that the washing machine used by us had issues, the power button/ on & off button had come out, and this was clearly stated while registering the complaint. I get a call from Mr. ** (Representative of shree enterprises bibwewadi, pune) and the power button issue was well informed to him as well over the phone by me. He arrived to our place without any new material, he sees the machine and interchanges the buttons, i.e. the broken power button is replaced by other button from my machine which was less used compared to the power button. I had to pay a sum of rs. 400/- for the pathetic service I received from your end.I expect a response from your side within next 4 hours, or I might have to escalate this issue!!! (Please note Whirlpool team that I had submitted the same on your website yesterday, yet I have not received any response from your side). (Whirlpool rating- 0 out of 100). Thanks. (And whoever reads this, please tell me where else can I post this review of mine so that I shall alert everyone that how bad whirlpool service is)...

I just bought a new dishwasher because my 5-year-old one went out, model number DU1145XTPBA. After pulling the old one out, I took the motor out and lo and behold, what did I find but bad bearings. The motor was fine, just the bearings were rusted out and were jamming the motor so that it wouldnt move. The price of a new motor, $149.00. Well thats a bit much for something that only lasts 5 years. I went on eBay and found them for $70 to $170.00. So if you have a problem where your dish wont wash at all but fills up with water, it may be nothing more than cheap bearings in the motor. If I, myself, were this companys CEO i would really consider changing companies that they have making these motors or at least the bearings. Just wanted you to know that this is the only problem I have had with this one and Im going to replace the motor now that I know what it is. Thank you Whirlpool for a day spending repairing and replacing one of your dishwashers. I learned a lot.

Whirlpool Gold Series - I bought this dishwasher less than 2.5 years ago. The thing already broke. The motor needs to be replaced at a cost of about $250. The thing never did a good job anyway and often had to run it more than once to get dishes clean. I paid about $650 for the machine so I guess its just a throw-away appliance. Whirlpool makes complete junk. I will buy a different brand that is known to have long-lasting dishwashers. I guess you get what you pay for.

We just love the hidden icemaker, the outside display for temps, ice, water, external H2O and crushed or cubes, and the LED inside lighting is fantastically bright, the space, moveable shelves, the quiet, the overall efficiency, huge drawers freezer, the wide open doors, the separate temps for vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts, etc. The separate filters in the refrigerator eliminate any smells. Easiest water filter to change we have ever had on any make refrigerator. Over the years, this is the first refrigerator of perhaps 7, we have truly never regretted buying it and frequently comment how happy we are with it!

My Whirlpool refrigerator is more than a year old but have been complaining
My Whirlpool refrigerator is more than a year old but have been complaining forever it seems. The serial # is 21142009, model WRT777REYWOO. All bottom cords etc. is out and 3 times I had people come out to fix and it never changed. The lettuce drawers freeze and in the freezer leaves ice cream pretty soft. I am so upset about this, and cannot afford a different one, no matter what brand because I paid around $1,000 for it and I am low income (my ss), 73, and disabled. But Whirlpool refrigerators are not worth buying if this is the standard policy to ignore their responsibility here. It leaks water from freezer to meat compartment, and I could go on but seems hopeless. My sister in Oregon had the same one and they took hers out finally so she could apply that amount to a different brand which has no problems.

My model # is WTW4800BQO. Purchased 05/20/14 and, under warranty, had repair come several times and they finally supposedly replaced the brain of machine and said nothing further could be done. So all this time I operate the machine manually - timing everything from wash to spin. On all cycles I have to manually - actually turn off machine when first wash is completed and reset to rinse and spin otherwise it only partially fills and drops the water right away on the 1st rinse (besides also dropping water on 2nd rinse). Also I came home one day, after completing a wash load earlier, and found the machine filling up with water automatically so now I always have to be sure the machine is unplugged when washing is completed.

My Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer stopped cooling just after a year. I had to buy a $319 warranty. It was fixed, but broke several months later. The repairman said he would try to stop the leak and it worked for a couple more months. The refrigerator was obviously irreparable and we should have had it replaced by Whirlpool at this point. Now, that it broke again (stopped cooling and freezing) the repair service is giving us the runaround. Its over a week and they wanted us to call a repair service and they would reimburse them. The repair service and Whirlwind know about this problem, but refuse to acknowledge it and are getting away with it. With all the comments Im reading here, there should definitely be a recall. Id like to know what it takes to have one authorized.

We have an 8-year-old built-in Whirlpool Estate. It is probably as basic a model as you can get. It has been 100% reliable, and cleans the dishes well, even without rinsing. We do not buy expensive premium dishwasher detergents, either. So far, we have required no repairs. Basic features--heavy wash, normal wash, pots and pans. This dishwasher is standard (not extra large.) This is not a fancy dishwasher--just white. It is what matches the rest of the appliances. We have been lucky regarding the performance of such an inexpensive dishwasher. We paid about $250 for it.

I bought my home four years ago with a Whirlpool 50-gallon water heater in it. It was installed in December 2002. Well, my hot water went out. After being told I could go to Lowe’s because they would supply the part free of charge because there was a recall on the thermocouple unit. I went to Lowes. No luck there. They told me they didnt carry the whole replacement unit and I would need a number from Whirlpool. The guy at Lowes was very nice but said I was the fifth person to come in this week.I called Whirlpool and was told because I was not the homeowner that had purchased the item that there was no warranty on the product and that I would have to pay for the part. It cost $34.98 plus shipping, which was another $30.00 because I had it shipped overnight. Two days with no hot water was enough. Well, I got the part and hopefully there is nothing wrong with it as it was shipped in a box twice as big as needed with no packing what so ever.I just got off the phone with them again but this time spoke with a supervisor that told me there was no need for packing. There was no part of the entire assembly that could have been damaged. Will I ever buy anything with the Whirlpool name on it? Not only no, but ** no! Will I tell everyone I know about this? You bet. I am also going to write to Lowes and ask why they are continuing to sell inferior appliances such as these. I have to tell one realtor friend about this and just placed a call to another to tell him. The first had no idea that appliances that were marked still under warranty did in fact have no warranty at all if its a Whirlpool. I may write a letter to the editor of our local newspaper and hope that they will publish it to inform anyone reading the paper about these inferior products.

In 2005, I purchased a Whirlpool front-loading automatic washer for $700 plus. The machine had to have repairs on it several times at my expense. Then in 2010, I had to replace it and spent another $700 plus on the same type of washing machine. Whirlpool would only discount $100 of the cost. The second machine three years later is now also needing repairs. I spent a total of over $1,400 in 7 years on two washing machines not including repairs and parts. It also took forever to find the parts, so I went without use of a washer for one month. I called customer service and said they couldnt do anything for me the second time around with them. WRF993FIFM00 refrigerator is a LEMON - I bought my $3000 refrigerator just after Christmas. In seven months, it has failed three times and I have been without a refrigerator for a cumulative 7 weeks so far. Each time it failed, I lost all my food, (but not until after wed been eating compromised food). If you buy a fridge, I strongly recommend getting a thermometer, because we learned the hard way that these Whirlpool units can just stop cooling properly and you wont necessarily notice that it is above the FDAs recommendations for food storage. Anyway, after each call they will make an appointment a week or two out for a tech to come out, who then orders the parts that take weeks to come in. Now, my third service call in and the SAME PARTS have failed again and I am again without any refrigeration and they have no idea when the parts will be in. This has been an awful experience, and Whirlpool could not care less. DONT buy their products, under any of their names. IT IS TIME FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. Too many folks have spent a lot of money and have been burned by Whirlpool, not to mention becoming ill from improperly chilled food!

I bought the Ikea dishwasher (model IUD8500BX1) in 2014. Because it’s from Ikea, it has 5 year warranty. I was using it daily, as I have a family of 5 and we cook and eat at home most days. I have called Whirlpool at least 4 times according to the repairman that was here today. Ive already had to replace the pump because it was holding up water. After which, mold started occurring in the washer. The technician who came out found 4 fault codes on the machine. He was prepared to replace sensors and the circuit board for the heater and the pump, since it likely had mold. But Whirlpool says the parts are functional therefore the replacement parts won’t fix it. He is not allowed to replace anything.Considering the mold is an after effect of the failure to drain, you would think they would fix the mold as well. A replacement dishwasher would be nice, but at least replacement of the internal plastic parts that I cant clean. Instead, they tell me to bleach wash it and run a cycle with bleach. Guess what, Ive already done that. And according to the technician hes never seen a dishwasher have this much mold when it’s used as often as I use it. If you are buying this product thinking they will stand by their product, think again.

Since installation, the hot surface light on the cooktop stays on. I called in & was told to try resetting the elec. breaker. Did that... still stays on. Model G7CE3034XB00, Serial D43005649. On Sept. 4th I called & spoke to Carrie (I believe in TN) who told me she would try to find a service tech in my area & would get back to me in 3-5 days. Apx. 5 days later she called & left a message on my cell phone stating that she could not locate a service tech in my area. I would need to find my own service tech & submit any invoices to the resource dept for reimbursement. Parts could be ordered at no charge. I have nothing in writing from the company to confirm I would be reimbursed, nor was I told how to correspond with the resource dept in the event I had an invoice to submit for reimbursement.Today, Sept. 18th, 2014, I called Whirlpool again (800-253-1301) & talked to Stephanie in Michigan. She told me the same info. When I asked to be sent a wiring schematic I was told I didnt need one. When I asked how to get in touch with the resource dept. I was given a fax no. & email acct. When I asked how I was supposed to get in touch if I didnt have either, she said I should go to the local library. Now lets imagine for a moment that I am disabled or live so far out in the country that I cannot get to the library... How am I supposed to get to a fax or email acct. Has anyone at Whirlpool considered that? This is a new appliance under full warranty, yet it has become my job to find a service tech, pay up front, & wait for reimbursement. REALLY??? We purchased the extended warranty (service plan number **). The washing machine has been giving trouble. It locks out during every wash cycle and each time, we have to unplug the machine to reset it. Sometimes it makes it through the next cycle and sometimes, not. The first couple of calls we made, we were told to make sure it was cleaned, to make sure it was leveled. All this was done and we still have the same problem. Finally, a technician was sent out. He could not duplicate the problem and left. Thirty minutes after he left, the machine locked out again. We put in for another call, we were told it would be two more days. In the meantime, we actually video taped the next three times it locked up. This time, when the technician came out, he was able to see our video as well as saw the machine lock up. He stated, It did not give me a code so I do not know what else to do. He left and ten minutes after he left, it locked out again. We immediately called back and they informed us they could not get anyone out again until next week. This is very frustrating to have an obvious problem and have an extended warranty and the problem cannot be solved. We feel as if we are being blown off. Is there anything you can do to help us and/or give us advise of how to get this problem resolved?

We purchased 4.0 cu. ft. Cabrio Top Load Washer with 6th Sense Technology MODEL WTW7340XW2 on 11/20/2011. We are a small family of 3 so use of the machine is light. We noticed a strange sound and some leaks a week ago and called in a technician recommended on the Whirlpool website. To our horror he informed us that we need to replace the tub bearing assembly, rotor and stator - to a cost of $1095! This machine is not even 3 years old. Did we buy a lemon? I called Whirlpool. They were simply not interested. The online chat person sent me to the Whirlpool Customer Experience Team where I was told that I should buy an insurance plan to cover the costs of repairs. They then sent me on to the insurance department who want me to pay $338 to buy a repair plan to have the machine fixed. And then referred me to the Manufacturing division when I wanted to know how to escalate the problem - and if you call that number - there is no option to deal with problems - seriously?!? Is this what I should expect when buying the Whirlpool brand?

Our Cabrio washer often ties clothes into (unwashed/still dirty) knots. They are so bad that it takes several minutes to untangle and then the load has to be rewashed. It also has to be set for hot water when you want cold, and vice-versa. I am unable to do that for the rinse cycle, so all our clothes are rinsed in hot water. It doesnt even get the clothes clean, when it doesnt tie them up. Ive gotten used to it sounding like the space shuttle taking off and managed to shut off most of the annoying beeps. The dryer is almost as bad, it seems to take a long time to dry clothes, and they come out very wrinkled, even on the wrinkle guard. The finish isnt even good on either one. It scratches very easily, and scratches start to rust almost immediately. This is quite possibly the worst piece of junk my family has ever owned, except maybe for an unfortunate experience with a 77 Dodge Aspen. We bought this set thinking we were paying enough that we were getting the best. Never again!

Our Duet Whirlpool washing machine is less than 3 years old. It would not always turn on when we would start it, or it would start and then it would give me an F70 error. If we pushed the start button again, it would continue to go through the wash cycle. There was nothing in the manual about that error. I called the service department and they could not tell me what an F70 error was either. The service department wanted to schedule a service call right away and offered me an extended warranty for $345.00, for one year. Since it was less than 3 years, and it didnt seem too serious (since the wash cycle would complete after pushing start again), I figured that it wouldnt be that much of a repair bill, so I declined. Also, I might add, that my previous 25 year old washer had only had one repair bill for a total of $200.00.When the service tech left, he handed me a repair bill for $741.00! I nearly fainted! He put in a new board. I immediately called the service department back and they said, Sorry, the extended warranty was a one-time offer and no assistance was offered when I asked. I could have bought a brand new washing machine for that price. Bottom line is, I would not buy a Whirlpool appliance again, and I would never contact Whirlpool for a problem. I would contact someone local. Had I known that a repair bill could have remotely cost over $300.00 on a new washing machine, I would have waited until it completely died and then bought a new one, and not a Whirlpool!

I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio in November 2009. I am just four months shy of the two-year mark and it is dead! I paid a lot for the machine because I thought it was worth the investment. It was not mistreated in any way! The problem is in the computer part of the machine.Everyone knows that to have a repair person come out is costly in itself, add to that repairs and parts, and it isnt worth it to fix an appliance most of the time. I will never purchase Whirlpool again. Never. I could have bought three cheap machines for this one Whirlpool, and had a couple of backups in the event that one quit on me! Now I have a fancy washer and a mountain of laundry! Thanks, Whirlpool.

The inside glass of the oven door shattered. I have not used the oven for months. Only the the top cooking burners have been used. Its a mystery to me!! I have read complaints where the glass shattered while the oven was in use or being cleaned, but have found none where this happened to a cold oven. The large front burner is too hot. Even on the lowest setting everything burns. You cannot simmer, only boil. The control knobs have (in my opinion) no safety mechanism. I thought that the control knobs on stoves needed to be child proofed, hard for a child to turn on. My last stove you had to push down quite hard then turn to the setting. Not this stove. I have to be so careful when Im cleaning the area around the knobs. The slightest pressure and the knob turns. When I first purchased the stove while cleaning it, I unknowingly turned the knob and the kitchen filled with gas before I realized what had happened. I called Whirlpool thinking something was broken. They sent out a repairman. Nothing was broken. That is the way it is made. Customer Service said they had had no other complaints about the knobs. I find that hard to believe. My toddler grandchild can turn on the stove with ease. Im sure other concerned parents etc. have had this complaint. To sum it up... I will probably never purchase a Whirlpool product again.

Electrolux dishwasher model EI24ID50QS - My husband picked this dishwasher after reading all the good reviews. However, after having issues with it, I tried to post my review and it would not post. I think Electrolux is somehow only posting good reviews and leaving out the bad. I had a technician come out to see why it took 6 hours to go through the cycle along with not cleaning the dishes well. He said I needed to run hot water before starting the cycle and that I needed to prewash my dishes before loading. In other words, its not a dishwasher but a sanitizer. Keep in mind that I rinse my dishes before loading, so I dont have food particles stuck dry on my dishes. So, I used his method of running hot water before cycle is started. It works ok when you dont use your kitchen faucet during the dishwashing cycle. However, the minute you use your faucet, the dishwasher runs for 6 hours! This is the worst dishwasher ever! Not to mention, the control panel is so sensitive that if you accidentally touch a cycle to start, you cant get it to cancel. It is ridiculous. Dont buy! It will be your biggest mistake.

I purchased Whirlpool top loading washing machine model # WTW57ESVW less than 2 years ago. It stopped working yesterday. I had a trusted professional repairman evaluate it today. The motor needs to be replaced after less than 2 years?! The customer service reps basically said sorry. I should have purchased the extended warranty. Is it not reasonable to trust that a Whirlpool washing machine motor should last more than 2 years.I am very unhappy and very angry that Whirlpool will not stand behind their product. The last customer service rep I spoke to suggested she could send one of their repairmen and replace the motor at a cost to me of $299.00. So, after less than 2 years, I am offered an amount to pay of about half the cost I paid less than 2 years ago for the brand new washing machine. My home is full of Whirlpool appliances. I have been a good and loyal customer for over 30 years. I am very angry and upset with Whirlpool. Please explain to me why it is not reasonable for me to trust and believe that a Whirlpool top loading machine that is well cared for and not abused in any fashion should last longer than 2 years? Is this being a loyal Whirlpool customer gets you, I should have purchased the extended warranty”? We are talking about a motor here, not a fabric or bleach dispenser that breaks. Although, those parts should not break either, there is a big difference from something like that and a motor. Please contact me as soon as possible at either number listed above. Thank you.

After several calls they scheduled a repairman. He came and put on a part. It did not work. Called Whirlpool again. They sent the same repairman. He stated it needed a new compressor. A week later he arrived with the part (August 12, 2016). As of now the refrigerator is working. Now this was two (2) weeks without a refrigerator. This has been a bad experience. I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loader High-Efficiency Machine on March 20, 2013. 14 months later, it failed. When I called customer service I was informed the 1 year warranty had expired (I knew this already) and that all they could offer me was a $319 extended warranty to fix machine and guarantee covered future repairs. Luckily, I had the machine repaired at no cost to me after complaining to the sales people I bought the machine from the year earlier. They contacted their Whirlpool representative who had the repair covered. Now, 3 years and 11 days after purchasing it, it failed again. This time the machine would no longer spin out the water. Whirlpool offered nothing more than to give the website and special code for a discount on a new machine. After some haggling, they agreed to pay for 50% of the parts only, no labor. I argued this machine must be a lemon, as they have told me theyve heard no prior issues with this machine and that it would be reasonable to replace this machine. They refused any further assistance. So I threw this piece of junk away and instead, for $185, bought a simple rebuilt 15 year old Maytag washer with agitator, direct drive. Just a couple of knobs. No computer, fancy bells and whistles. I can say with absolute certainty that I will never purchase a Whirlpool product ever again. I also believe these machines are no longer meant to last like old washers (and dryers) used to.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio HE top loading washer and front-loading dryer about 7 years ago. It has been okay, but nothing special. Recently it began stopping in the middle of the cycle and showing an F51 error. Then all of a sudden the noise during spin was deafening. Brought out a tech, who came and did some eval. Left with some basic maintenance. Did a load, and happily no more F51 code, but still so very loud during spin cycle.Called again; tech returned and said that drum and shaft would likely need to be replaced to the tune of some $500. The same story as others have told. We should have bought the extended warranty. Like others, I also felt that washers lasted at least 10 years. And that seemed a short time given expectations in the past of 20 years of service. Im disappointed in Whirlpool. Even though Consumer Reports gives the Whirlpool Duet washer (new 2013) one of its highest reviews, I cant bring myself to buy another Whirlpool product. It appears to me that this warrants recall as well.

We bought a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator in July of 2018 and it has gone out twice (quit cooling and has completely frozen over). The first time it went out at 6 months and the second was two days after the factory warranty expired (the warranty for the Whirlpool repair company lasted only 90 days for parts and labor which is useless). I’ve called the company to come take a look and it will cost over $100 just to have someone come out since we are outside the factory warranty window by four whole days. I was basically told there is nothing they will do even though the same problem keeps happening. This refrigerator was brand new and didn’t even make it six months. Now we will need to either pay hundreds of dollars for repairs (knowing that the issue will likely happen again) or buy a new refrigerator. Even though we have barely had this appliance a year. I will never, ever buy Whirlpool products ever again. I also posted my negative rev on their official website and it never got published. They only show their 4-5 star reviews (all of which say the customer has been incentivized in some way). This is a misleading and sneaky process.

We had since cleaned it out. I unplugged it and plugged after a minute and it came back on. The Ace service guy called to confirm his schedule. After hearing that it is running again, he said they are computer controlled and unplugging it and plugging it back in reboots it, as you might reboot locked up PC. He also said that since it is now running, Whirlpool wont stand behind a service call. He said wait until it does it again. Now thats just jim-dandy. People should consider themselves lucky to get 2 yrs, 1yr, 6 mos out of these pieces of junk. Mine replaced an 8 year old Bradford White that was originally installed when the house was built. Funny thing, we had the exact same BW in our last house. Same problem after exactly 8 years - tank leaked. Anyway, this Whirlpool 40 gal gas was installed by a professional plumber ($200) and ran fine for 6 days before the pilot went out the 1st time. In the next 10 days it went out 9 more times until it wouldnt stay lit at all. I would light the pilot and it would be out in 5 min or less. I watched for the error code the last time - 2 flashes which indicated thermocouple low voltage. This is totally ridiculous. After research - which I should have done before I bought - it looks like a total bad design problem with associated customer service nightmares and much additional cost to the customer. AND EVERYONE WHO MAKES AND SELLS THESE THINGS KNOWS ABOUT IT. Attempting to fix this thing - even IF labor was included - looks like throwing good money after bad. When are these companies going to be held accountable for producing cheap poorly designed products and then let the consumer foot the cost of labor and/or replacement. You can say all you want about less government but this is just a small example of what you get when you have less government. Doing further research, it looks like NO manufacturer of gas water heaters can produce a reliable product now. So now, Im installing a Bradford White ELECTRIC water heater. Thats and extra $250 for the electrical service that needs to go in. AND additional for the actual install by a plumber. At least Lowes is not giving me a hard time about getting all my money back for the Whirlpool since its less than 30 days since the purchase. I guess I should consider myself lucky it malfunctioned almost immediately. Total out of pocket on the initial Whirlpool install: $560. Total out of pocket with reinstall of BW Electric: $1000. My time spent on this mess: priceless. At least we will have hot water, even though it will cost more per month in electricity to do it. Thanks Whirlpool - stay classy.

Purchased washer and dryer in 2013. After several months I noticed small holes in my clothing. I called for service since my machines were still under warranty. There was nothing the repair service could do except make suggestions on water amount and settings. Which I tried with no improvement. I also contacted Whirlpool and was told I could call for service for several weeks since it was still under warranty. I asked why call for service when I was told it could not be fixed. I did have it serviced again and told it was a problem with the design. Numerous items of clothing were ruined which I showed the technician. He gave me a phone number to contact Whirlpool. They in turn said there was nothing they could do for me. I usually place items in laundry bags for delicate fabrics but for obvious reasons not all items fit in a bag. I am a very unhappy owner of a Whirlpool Cabrio Model: wtw5640xw0 & matching Dryer. About 4 years ago, my husband chose to replace our 11 year-old Maytag Performa Washer & Dryer instead of fixing a part that needed to be replaced in the Washer. I was upset with the very first load of laundry in the Cabrio and I was extra upset that my husband had junked my perfectly awesome working Performa Dryer. )-: First of all, the Cabrio set is Extremely LOUD! Secondly, I often have to wash loads more than once because they do not get clean the first time. Next, the Washer is Always knocked off balance. Ive resorted to using the settings on the Washer with the low spin every time, no matter how light the load. And, now there is something wrong with the lid lock mechanism (which has always sucked anyway), but this is a new problem... I was just checking on the internet to try to figure it out when I stopped to write this review. The lid will not lock & the lid lock light wont go off, so the Washer wont do anything at all! I can not express enough what a piece of junk this Washer is & Im never going to allow my husband (who doesnt even do the laundry) to choose my Washer & Dryer again!

We bought a house almost 10 years ago and it included a Maytag washer and dryer. About 5 years ago, we decided to buy the Whirlpool front loaders. What a mistake as the washer shook every time it ran. After several warranty service calls and days of vacation waiting for the service, they finally said they couldnt do anything. During that time I had been in contact with Whirlpool and asked for them to take them back. Of course they wouldnt. I asked for a swap for top load washer and they would need to also replace the dryer to match: still no deal. It took a letter from a lawyer to make it happen. They also bought back the washer and dryer stands which covered the lawyers costs. So shortly after I received the Cabrio washer and matching dryer, the lid is very heavy which I believe the lid spring broke. I refused to call the service company as I did not want to go thru that crap again. I also know I can fix it myself easier and without all the drama. I keep waiting for another failure but so far all is acceptable. Whirlpool is not the same company as they were when I made my living doing warranty service for Whirlpool! 30 years ago they were the best in the industry. The Maytag pair was giving to our relative and they are still working flawlessly. Unfortunately Whirlpool now owns Maytag. This experience has cost Whirlpool replacing our kitchen appliances. As much as I want to buy American, I will go with Bosch or LG only.

I bought Whirlpool Cabrio washer two months ago (Model number : WTW7300DW0). They indicate washer use less water and clean better, but that is not true. Some clothes on top of the load were not even getting wet and clothes smell bad after washing. Even worse is that clothes got holes in many places and some clothes were totally destroyed after washing. In just two months, I have to throw away many of my towels and clothes. I dont believe this kind of washer should be sold again. This should be a recall to give us a replacement ASAP and remove any products still in the market. There are many complaints online, I hope someone will stop this and do the right thing.

I purchased a 40 gallon water heater at Lowes and installed about 3 years ago. A couple of weeks ago, it got an upper sensor failure code on the gas valve. It would heat by resetting (turning valve off, waiting a minute and then lighting) but after a few minutes, it would fail again. I called the customer service and they mailed out a new upper sensor. When it came a few days later (I paid for shipping), I installed it but the same failure code. Again, the only heat I could get was by resetting the valve several times before a shower. I called customer service again, told them what I did and they said, Oh, the problem is the gas valve then. So they mailed out a new gas valve unit. It then came a few days later and I installed it according to the enclosed directions to the letter. Still got the failure code and still had to keep resetting it to get any warm water before a shower.I called customer service again, told them what I did and he said, Well, did you flush the water heater with apple cider vinegar before you installed the new gas valve? I said, No, it wasnt in the enclosed directions to do so. He said, You should have done that and it would have worked. I will send out a new gas valve. At this point, I blew up. Two weeks with no reliable hot water. I told him I want a new water heater and he refused. I asked to speak to his superior. He said no. Dont ever get a Whirlpool product. My husband and I bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Series Washer and Dryer in November 2012 from Lowes. My clothes, especially towels, smell like mildew and mold since I have used it. I thought it was just me. I have even thrown some items away when they smelled so bad. I love doing laundry but this not being able to have clean smells was driving me crazy. I tried everything I could think of but to no avail. Finally in October of this year 2015 my washing machine began to make a loud noise. My husband said sounds like a bearing is going out. I immediately sought a repairman thinking that it would be a simple fix. $420 later I had a new bushing, bearing, sleeve, etc. The machine was still making noises even louder and my repairman came back, this time to the tune of $180. So far weve spent $600 on a washer that we gave a little over $800 for. Now I have a UL code showing up when my load is almost completely done and guess what? My repairman says he has yet another part that should take care of the noise but he wasnt so sure about the panel. He may have to do a little research on that. I think all I have is a repairman that is a parts replacer so we were forced to purchase a new washer yesterday and my Cabrio is sitting in my garage. If someone needs a boat anchor just please contact us. I wrote a letter to the corporate office of Whirlpool before I even knew that so many consumers were having problems. Two repairmen told me that the Cabrios were junk. Most of them belonged in the landfill. Whirlpool customer service called me and offered me a discount coupon on a new washer. I told them that I didnt think I needed another piece of crap. I also questioned them as to why they could foist these crappy machines off on the American public. They had no apologies whatsoever. While researching what brand washing machine to invest in, I realized that there were numerous complaints regarding the Whirlpool Cabrio. With as many consumers who have been taken advantage of with this awful product, why cant someone do something?
