We have a Whirlpool range that was produced for Kenmore (Sears brand). It’s a glass top with electronic controls. Over the 13 years we have had this range we’ve had to replace the controls 3 times at a cost of over $300 each time. Each time we were under severe lightning storms and got hit with a surge. It would burn out the Control board. We finally got a whole house surge suppressor since a large device is required for 240 volt appliances. Also the glass top has gotten scored over the years. We would not recommend this oven and will likely replace it with an industrial gas stove with manual controls when this one dies or gets too expensive to repair.

IM single, and my current refrigerator meets my basic needs quite well. One drawback -- it has an ice making machine which I never use. Therefore, that takes up room in the freezer which could be used for frozen foods.

We too have nothing but problems with our supposedly top of the line convection/microwave oven. Purchased in 2010 in February for new kitchen. From start, original microwave installed did not work, would not cook or heat. Dealer replaced. One year later, same problem, but now out of warranty. Had to pay labor, costs, and parts to get fixed. Fast forward 13 months, again magnetron needs replaced, microwave will not work. What a hunk of junk for our money. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again, and I will tell everyone I know the same. When you call customer service, they are nice but only say “too bad, out of warranty”. What a joke for a major appliance company to tell customers. It is obvious that this microwave is faulty from the get go, and they just keep on making them the same way and not trying to fix the problem.

We have had the washing machine about four months. When washing sheets, they twist up badly. The machine does not seem to get the clothes very clean. It seems that it does better when we put it on the bulky setting for all washing that we do. More water is needed I guess.

Terrible! I bought the washer in December of 2010. We began finding holes in clothes in March of 2011. We found that we had a small crack in our dryer. After trying to fix it ourselves, the crack came back. So, we replaced the dryer. After we replaced the dryer, we began to find more holes in our clothes. It was not the dryer causing the holes, but our duet Whirlpool washer. We had several drain error instances as well. We have had the service repair man out several times for the drain error problem. Ranging from a Mardi Gras bead in the drain pump, to several baby socks to a large adult tube sock. Id say its been at least 7 times. We had finally had enough of our clothes, which I would estimate to be at least $500 worth of clothing, the service repair man said he had never seen anything like it. That was in November of 2011. They said they would replace the tub and drum system but it would take several weeks to get the part in, which took us past our warranty. After numerous complaints, Whirlpool offered the best they could do, that was to extend our warranty (6 additional months). The first drum was broken upon delivery, so another would have to be ordered. There goes another week. Finally it came in. We were all but assured the problem would be fixed. Two days later, same drain error code! 3 more socks caught in the drain pump! Took the socks out myself after watching them do it so I didnt have to call them out again and pay the fee. Next day, there were more holes in clothes! Called and and they said they cant get a service guy out for at least a week! That was all during the Christmas and New Years holidays! January 9th, the service repair man came and said, Yep, its the same problem. We need to replace the tub and drum again. The part would be guaranteed to be in by Friday, January 13th!Guess what? Today I got a call, the parts were on back-order and it wont be until January 24th until they can become available. Seriously? Seriously?! I have a family of 6. Me, my wife, a 8 year old girl, a 7 year old girl, a 5 year old boy and an 18 month old girl. The piles upon piles of laundry are limitless waiting for empty promises. In the meantime, we have had to wash essential clothes (school clothes, socks, underwear, etc.) at laundromats, and friends and other family members houses. Whirlpool doesnt give a care about any of our problems. I come from a huge family, as does my wife. Together, we probably have 100 family members. I will crusade against Whirlpool for any and all appliances if this matter is not fixed and their customer service is not better!

Its an IKEA double wall oven. Top oven is convection, bottom oven is regular. The cost was half of what a single wall oven was at other stores. It is very simple without a lot of fancy timers and extras. Its great for cooking a very large meal when you need two ovens or have recipes that need different temperatures. I was able to shop entirely online to the store in another city and have the wall oven delivered for minimal charge. I dont mind paying more for better quality, but it seems increasingly hard to find. I purchased my no-name double wall oven from IKEA in 2010 for around $1000. That was almost half the price of a name brand single wall oven. Apparently the oven is made by Whirlpool. Self clean option works well. You cant beat it for putting on a great big meal where items require cooking at different temperatures. Both ovens are full size so you could cook a giant turkey and a ham at same time. Never had a problem with it either.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator in May 2012 and about 8 months ago, ice started to form in the freezer. The ice melts and water drains out, so when you come in the kitchen all of the sudden you step in a puddle of water. I called CS and they told me the best they could do was authorize part(s) and the labor and service call would be my responsibility. Everyone knows service cost way more than parts.

Burners always needed replacing and now do not work anymore - Whirlpool range looks nice, but very expensive to maintain. The burners constantly needed replacing, they do not heat up. I got a repair technician to look at it. He replaced the parts that the burners hook into. Now they do not heat up at all. Well, one of four barely boils water. The oven still works, oh great. The thing is only 7 years old. I have had ovens that lasted 20+ years at my dads house or 15 years at another house I lived in. With all the negative comments and the repair guy who tried to fix it, I think it is time to get the kids Easy-Bake Ovens out of the storage or buy a new range. Obviously, it will not be a Whirlpool. So many negative comments people left, my useless top burners seem mild comparatively.

I bought the top-of-the-line Whirlpool top-loading washer and havent regretted it for a minute. This machine washes everything from the most delicate to the most bulky and heavy and does an excellent job of it. It saves about 1/3 of the water my rotary agitator washer used. What more could I ask from a washer. Incidentally, also purchased the largest front-loading electric dryer Whirlpool makes and never have to hold a load of wash until the dryer finishes the last load...a real time-saver.

I purchased a Cabrio washing machine and discovered multiple repair issues over the last few months. I have had to replace a pump for $85 and now the machine will not complete a cycle. I found out the the whole thing is rusted above the barrel which is causing a leak in the back and leaving our floors covered in rust shavings. From my research and reading others reviews and issues, they pay for a serviceman to come out and still it does not solve the problem. My husband is a student in college and we are living off student loans. We bought this machine because we trusted that a Whirlpool would last and be a good investment. I am very displeased on this machine and doubt I will ever put my trust in Whirlpool again. I called to complain and got the typical response I have read others got. I am not paying for a service call when it will not fix the washer in the end. I plan to file complaint after complaint and encourage any class action suit against Whirlpool for producing a poor washing machine and misadvertisement on this machine. I will move forward in this. I feel that as consumers we have a right and should have a sense of ease when you spend $900 on a product that it should work and not give out as it has so quickly. If there has been multiple people with common complaints, then there should be a recall on this washing machine.

Whirlpool White Ice gas range with aqualift technology. Whirlpool uses a self-cleaning technology called AquaLift to clean the oven. It does not work. It does not clean the oven no matter how many times you run the cycle. I have contacted Whirlpool 3 times and they did respond. They first suggested buying their oven cleaner. I purchased the oven cleaner and it did not work! They then said that aqualift will only clean the bottom of the oven (it does not). Who buys a brand new oven that does not have a self-cleaning feature? I read reviews online prior to buying this oven and unfortunately for me, there were no bad reviews. However, I just checked again and there are numerous reviews stating that aqualift technology did not work for them either. This oven bakes but it does not clean and Whirlpool will tell you not to use oven cleaners in your gas oven because they will damage the surface of the oven. I currently have a very dirty oven and no effective way to clean it! Do not buy this oven if you want a self-cleaning oven. This oven should be recalled and money refunded. I would never knowingly buy an oven that does not self-clean. This Whirlpool with Aqualift is not effective and the company had to test this before it was marketed. I do not know which brands to recommend at this point as I am stuck with a Whirlpool gas oven that does not self-clean. The oven is only 1.5 years old so I will be stuck with this oven for a few years. Do extensive research before you buy any appliance.

I wouldn’t recommend buying Whirlpool appliances. Hot dishwasher in December used 1 month and the board went out. 3 month to get a new then they install it and they sent the wrong user interface. Wait another month. Still no call. No dishwasher. Everyone I know has issues with Whirlpool appliances that are branded as made in US yet if they truly had good components that were made in the US they would get more customers back.

Wish we had gone online to check all the complaints otherwise we would have NEVER bought a Whirlpool model #EB9FVHLVS. Only 3 years old. First repair call to fix a manufacturers faulty grommet manifested by leaking in the bottom freezer portion. Just outside the warranty - did not purchase extended. Now I know why retailers recommend the extended. My sister overheard the repairman call in the product to his contact at Platinum Appliance Service Inc., and he made direct reference to the model number in the category of Whirlpool products known to have this specific design flaw, and that the product was never recalled but customers were directed to purchase a repair kit to fix the problem. Apparently this became a very well documented and repeated incident within the 1-2 year purchase date of these products and models with the known factory installed defect were still sent out to retailers at a reduced cost with no reference, warning or attention to the factory defect. Now 4 months after the first call we have to call in for another repair issue because our light in both compartments and the motor shuts off for hours at a time. We lost about $80 in meat products, so now were afraid to keep any costly items in the freezer because we cant afford to replace a $100 of thawed products every week on top of groceries already bought!!! It seems as though Whirlpool is gleefully generating business for appliance repair while making more than one hole in the consumers wallet.

The Whirlpool hot water heater model ES80H123-45D from Lowe’s is a free replacement for a lifetime warranty unit that went bad after 8 years. First heater would heat to 154 degrees with a setting of 150. Very good. New one heats to 140 degrees with a setting 150 degrees. Digital ESM screen on heater reads 150, but the water is only 140 by my temperature test. I talked to complaint line 5 times in 7 days and was told to do various test, but the temp never went past 140. They replaced both thermostats and temperature still never past 140 with ESM reading 150. They first told me standard temperature was plus or minus 5 degree range. Then, they changed their minds and said it was 10 degrees. They are calibrating their equipment to operate 10 degrees less then their Energy Smart module reads to cover up a performance issue with their water heater. They say this unit will operate between 80 and 150 degrees—nothing’s said about a plus or minus operating range. I will buy a new temperature gauge to see if my old one is correct. It was tested against a digital one a couple of years ago when I had a new dishwasher installed by Lowes. The installers gauge read over 152 and mine read 154 degrees at the sink next to the new dishwasher, so it was close to accurate at that time. Whirlpool is happy with their under-performance.

I purchased a Whirlpool gas top range from Lowes in Somerset Ky September 2013. Model number WFG524SLAB1. The surface is showing bubbles. I contacted Whirlpool and they gave some kind of story. In other words I am stuck with it. Still under warranty but they wont send someone out to look at it. Lowes told us that it could be a paint defect when it was made. If the top starts peeling, it will be a real mess. I have never used anything abrasive on the stove top. As of right now I am not happy with Whirlpool at all and if they dont do something about this, I will never buy another one of their appliances.

I waited years to buy this machine. I hate it!!! I agree with the other bad reviews. It destroys clothes. There is barely enough water in it to cover the bottom of the machine much less the laundry. Even deep water is a joke. It does not clean. I put it on the hottest water temp and I can put my hand in there and it is barely warm (it is not my hot water heater). My lightweight comforters come out all tacky and grungy in the middle. The softener dispenser (I use vinegar) dumps in the laundry (no it is not over full) (no I do not slam it shut). I can not let anything soak because the machine will drain after a few minutes and all my detergent, scent crystals etc. are all wasted. I feel like I have to take a survey and complete a questionnaire every time I do laundry. Can someone tell me how to put a comforter in there and leave that little middle eye open? They say the water saver is government regulated? Yup I need the government to do my laundry... I believe in saving water. I have a water saver toilet, shower, faucets. However I can not clean dirty jeans in a gallon of water. My clothes do not even get wet. How does whirlpool get away with advertising this machine can do king size comforter? The gentle cycle will tear apart anything I might put in there because there is no water and that blooming thing just twist and turns so it tears anything delicate. This is the 21st century. I think I should not have to babysit my washing machine. Why should I have to readjust everything in hopes it might be almost clean??? Place this here and that there, wipe the lint out before doing dark laundry. This machine belongs in the dark ages. It is so complicated yet it achieves nothing. A big rip off. I so tired of crying over this purchase. I hate this machine!!!

This is a freezer on top unit. Purchased in 2015, unit quit cooling, started making a roaring noise. Called local technician, he added 2 oz of Freon, said he has seen many of these same unit losing Freon. Technician said line that goes to compressor is copper and hooks up to aluminum line before attaching to compressor. This is leak point for freon; no way to know when the leak started, but freon almost gone and cost to pressure check for source of leak is costly and probably would not repair problem. Got 6 yrs out of it and I am replacing with another brand. Will never buy Whirlpool again. Should have got 10-12 yrs of use. Do not buy this unit. Wrote Whirlpool first, but no help. Suddenly I get a person who sounds enthusiastic about customer service after a day of writing bad reviews on Lowes and Whirlpool sites and as many consumer review sites as I could find! I had even called Lowes corporate offices! A repairman is coming out tomorrow (after being told that one could not show up until September!) to check the NEW refrigerator that has frozen all of my produce and soften my frozen foods! I am 12 miles from the nearest town and took over half of my food for the month to the dumpster site today because it was spoiled. Called someone in town. He came out, looked at it for 2 minutes, and said he never saw a water heater like this, but Sears may carry parts. Charged me $50 for service call. Sears couldnt find the model number in their parts catalogs. I dont have a manometer (What is it?) so I cant do diagnostic tests on it myself. Cant find out anything about them online except complaints from other steamed customers about this crappy product. My daughter bought a mobile home manufactured by sunshine mobile home co. in Red Bay al. The home is only 6 mo. old. In that home there is a Whirlpool microwave oven model # WMH2175XVB-1 Serial # TRY 20 23398. After 2 months my daughter microwave stopped working, Whirlpool sent a repair man out to fix it. He didnt have the parts to repair it so he left to order some parts that he thought might be the problem. When the repairman returned two weeks later with the parts, he replaced a door switch. The oven started to work. About 4 days later it quit working again. The repairman returned for the third time, tried repairing the oven and was unable. I had to help him remove the oven so he could take it home with him so he could try to repair it. At that time I was so angry that the Whirlpool co. would send a repair man out three times to repair something that was obviously junk. When I talked to the people at Whirlpool they told me all they were authorized to do was repair it. I explained the repairman has tried three times and couldnt and that they in good faith replace the unit. The answer I received had to come from a mentally challenged person. If this is the response of Whirlpool about their product, then I want no part of them in the future.

Ill never buy Whirlpool appliances again. I purchased all new kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago. The range had electrical issues within the first year, which was extremely scary. Thankfully because of the warranty they took it back, reimbursed me for it and I replaced it with a GE. I absolutely love the GE. The dish in the microwave never stays on its track in the center. Its quite an inconvenience to fix it almost daily. The top rack in the dishwasher constantly breaks, drops down on one side. Random parts from inside the dishwasher constantly come loose and fall off. But the worst of all....my refrigerator has broken down twice in 6 months from the same issue due to no fault of my own. To give some credit, Whirlpool fixed it out of warranty the first time. However the same issue happened 6 months later and they are expecting me to pay for it. The repair company contracted with Whirlpool covers their parts under warranty, however different parts need to be ordered. I had to pay for these parts, a service call and labor. Whirlpool came out with a service pointer on this because they know its a manufacturing defect but are refusing to cover the cost. The representative I spoke to was nasty and inconsiderate but sadly the manager was even worse. DONT buy Whirlpool!!! I recommend GE, youll be much happier. Worst customer service and support.

My story begins in August of this year when my wife and I built a new home. The builder provided Whirlpool appliances in the kitchen. The fridge has continually tripped the breaker and after numerous visits from the builders electrician, we finally also had the Whirlpool service technician check out the fridge too. After the control board was replaced, and the interior light housing was replaced, it turns out the wiring harness in the fridge is faulty and is not repairable. According to your customer service team, the fridge will need to be exchanged. I have made numerous calls to the suggested numbers (866-698-2538 & 800-253-1301) to find out the status of the exchange. Each time, I have been told that my file is with the review team, and that if I have not heard from them in the next three or four days, that I should call back again. I have not been able to contact the review team directly myself, as your customer service team is either unable to or is not allowed to share those contact details. So I am relegated to wait and then call back again. I have lost track of the number of calls I have made, and the hours spent on hold because of the high volume of calls or re-telling the whole story. The fridge was determined to not be repairable on November 19th. I am not sure if this is the treatment you intend for your customers, or if this is an anomaly.

My Gold Series Whirlpool Electric Range is 3 years old. They want $400.00 + installation to replace it and that is if one can be found to actually install. The stove was purchased for $850.00 because of the Brand and now they want half that value to replace a board that will likely fry again in a year or two. I find there is no value for money and will not ever buy a Whirlpool brand again.

I purchased this machine in April and already, the right leg is rusted and the under seam of machine is rusted. I have throw rug under it and where the leg is, there is rust on the rug. I called service from Whirlpool and 2 servicemen came out. The first one told me I was loading it wrong and the water was splashing over the inside tub to rust the leg and I asked, So why is the seam under the machine rusted? No answer. The second one came out and told me he could not find anything wrong with the machine and doesnt know why it is rusting, but he never gave me a paper to sign off on. He also said that maybe it was rusted when it was delivered. Not!!! Then I call P.C. Richard in Watchung, NJ where I bought the machine at and told them about the problem. They sent a serviceman out and he said that the bleach condensation is causing the rust, its known fact that this machine has this problem. He said that the water does not run through the dispenser but there is a model that does. I want a credit on this machine and get the upgraded one. It states on the machine that I can use bleach but it doesnt say it will cause rusting. I want you to tell me how a 9-month-old machine is rusted on one leg and the seam underneath is also rusted!!!! I had a machine for 10 years and it wasnt rusted. I am very unhappy with this product and with the customer service of Whirlpool. I love the way the clothes are clean when I wash them. I also love how well they are rung out when I get them out of the washer to be put into the dryer. The washing time isn’t too long either as compared to other washers I’ve used where it took almost an hour to wash and the clothes didn’t seem as clean.

To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time
To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time to respond. I feel so strongly about this issue that I want to get the message about this company product out. About 2 years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool fridge, stove, and dishwasher. I have had so many problems with the stove (WFG540H0AS0) that it has pissed me off, actually. First, the knobs that control the stove top melted. MELTED! We had to replace them to the tune of $30.00 each and there are 5. Why would anyone use knobs that cannot withstand heat on a stove?! News flash, I cook on my stove. Therefore, there will be heat used. Second, the oven keeps shutting off in the middle of cooking my holiday meal. Of course, this made my turkey take much longer than usual. Today, it shut off in the middle of cupcakes. Third, the oven does ignite without turning it on and off multiple times. So we called the repair person who told us to replace the ignition switch for it. This helped for about one month. Then the problem started again. I just emailed Whirlpool and I will call them next business day. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool. I thought they had a good reputation for quality products.

In October of 2014 we purchased our beautiful Whirlpool WRF990slam00 refrigerator from Lowes. We were super happy to have this big beautiful piece of equipment in our kitchen. From the start it ran a little loud but we were assured that this was normal. It seemed to function pretty well until 3 days after the one year warranty ran out. First thing, opened fridge door to a waterfall. Ice machine apparently was no longer working and 2 days later the fridge and freezer both stopped working and blowing warm air.Everything in the fridge and freezer had to be thrown out. I started making calls on November 2nd to see if Whirlpool would stand behind their $2,000 product and make good on repairs. It is now December 17th and we are still without a fridge. Not sure right now what is happening and I am afraid to call as I am sick to death of the whole thing. All I want is a fridge that works! Not too much to ask after spending $2,000. I am saving you the gory details as it would take me 10 pages but I have made SEVERAL calls. I hope to have Whirlpool step up and do the right thing but, I am not going to hold my breath.

I bought the most deluxe and expensive washer and dryer I have ever owned. It is a Whirlpool Cabrio. The clothes come out of the washer dry, and all tangled up. I bought it new from Sears on July 2009. Now only two years old, and the washer sounds like a jet plane. I paid a repairman $90.00 only to be told this is common in this machine. The repair is expensive, and I would be better off buying a new one! I owned a cheap, little GE washer, which cost me $300; ten years, and never had a problem. Now my dream machine turned out to be a piece of crap. I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

Have owned my Whirlpool washer model# LSR 701 0PQ1 two years and had no problems with it before today... The washer was used once a week since I purchased it and only myself use it. There is only myself and my son and our loads are always small. Well today I put a load in and went to finish my other housework and when I went to check on the load, there was a weird smell in my laundry room. As I approach the washer to put softener in the rinse I saw a flash behind on the left hand side of the control panel where the size of load and water temperature selection is. I unplugged the washer and put the fire out. Have never had anything happen like this before with this brand. I already know I have to buy another washer but am scared to get another Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Gold Microwave Hood Combo GH5184XPS4 purchased new on 12/2009. The plastic vent cracked where clip attached by factory installed screw. The vent fell off microwave on 10/2011. I spoke with Whirlpool customer service. It is out of warranty and recommended to buy new vent part ($40.00). The new vent broke once again on 12/2011, clip attachment location. Now, the plastic door handle is cracking. The customer service is sorry and recommends to buy replacement parts as long as they remain available. There are many reports of similar instances noted online. I live in a newly constructed condominium where multiple owners have had the same problems with their Whirlpool Gold Microwave Hood Combo GH5184XPS4.

I absolutely HATE this washer! These pics are of jeans AFTER they came out of washer. Its energy efficient for sure...doesnt use enough water to fully wet the jeans. And, yes, I know how to choose the correct settings. See how wrinkled the jeans are? That is what all clothes look like after being washed in this washer. Dryer isnt any better. It does dry them, but they are so wrinkled they look like they were just pulled out of dirty clothes hamper. I was a Whirlpool fan up until this set. I realized before my 30 days were up that they werent cleaning my clothes well. I went back to Lowes & set up a date & time for them to be picked up. Salesman convinced me that I just wasnt use to this new type of Whirlpool washer/dryer. Plus he insinuated I was being a problem customer who was lying about the poor performance of my set. He said they had sold a lot of these W/D and NEVER had a complaint. Dummy like I cancelled the pick up. I would not take another set of these if they were given to me. If I could afford it I would give away this set & buy something else. Anyone still interested in Whirlpool Cabrio W/D after reading my review? If so, Ive got a set I will sale you for what I owe.

Bought a Maytag Bravo XL Top-Loading Washer Model MVWB880BWO. It was installed on Jan 22, 2014. In December, the spin cycle became very loud. I contacted Whirlpool on Dec. 2. They said a local technician would be out on Dec 5. They make up this date. I called the local technician. They came out on Dec 16. I was informed that if there was nothing wrong with the washer, I would have to pay for the service call. The tech. found there was a bearing problem. He said they would contact Whirlpool about the warranty repair. Had not heard from the repair shop. Today is Jan 5. I called the local repair shop. They said they were waiting to hear from Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool. (Thats another nightmare). They said they were waiting to hear from the tech. The man at the repair shop said he has been trying to get a hold of the rep for our area in Eureka, CA. Apparently he doesnt return emails when he is in training and apparently he is in training most of the time. It is totally unacceptable to have to wait for over a month to have a washer repaired. Not sure what a consumers recourse is for getting something that is under warranty repaired in a timely manner. Maytag used to be a good product. Since Whirlpool produces the Maytag, the quality just is not there. Very poor service. I would not recommend buying Whirlpool. You will not be happy with their product or their service.

There is a chronic and well-known problem with recent French door, bottom freezer refrigerators sold by Whirlpool, including the the brand names KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Maytag, and Amana. The problem is caused when the defrost drain freezes, preventing defrosted water from reaching the evaporation pan. After enough water builds up, it overflows along the front of the refrigerator. In my particular case, we have wood floors and they were ruined by the water. After doing some investigation on the internet, I have learned that this problem affected approximately 1,500 model numbers sold under these names. These model numbers are listed in a Technical Service Pointer issued by Whirlpool. In August 2013, after experiencing several years of problems with these units, Whirlpool issued a Technical Service Pointer W10632338, advising service technicians that a new P Trap drain tube kit was now available, and suggesting that the defective duck bill check valve should be replaced by this new part. The problem for years had been that the rubber duck bill check valve would, over time, become sticky (or tacky) and would then not open - causing water to build up above it. Eventually, the water would freeze and since newly defrosted water could no longer escape, it would build up and eventually overflow. From what Ive seen online, plus a conversation with the Sears technician who come out to diagnose and repair my leak, I am convinced there are many thousands of customers who have experienced this problem. Because it takes a while for the rubber check valve to become sticky and no longer open, it is not uncommon for the problem to not appear until after the standard one-year warranty has expired. From reports, Whirlpool has sometimes acknowledged the problem and effected repair of refrigerators no longer under warranty. But what about those customers, like me, who have experienced water damage to floors and cabinets? Shouldnt Whirlpool be liable for those repairs, too? Id be interested to know if anyone knows of plans for a class action lawsuit.

I had a Whirlpool oven for 14 years. It worked great and the control board burned up during the cleaning cycle. I purchased a new whirlpool oven that did not have an exposed bottom heating element. It takes way too long to preheat and if during baking, you need to change the temperature, it starts preheating again and the displayed temperature is lower than the original temperature that was set at the beginning; and it takes too long for the oven to reach the new temperature. This appears to be the result of the bottom heating element being hidden. Heating and maintaining a consistent temperature is far more important than being able to clean the bottom of the oven especially when this is a self-cleaning oven.Updated on October 20, 2015: This is an update on my last review. I was cooking a cake at 350 degrees and when the designated time was up, I opened the door to check for doneness. The cake needed to cook a little longer, so I closed the door and the temperature immediately went to 300 degrees and started preheating again which of course caused the oven to get too hot for the cake I was baking. Who is designing these ovens??? Certainly not a person that cooks on a day-to-day basis. I will never buy a Whirlpool oven again.

Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. Ive now been told this (liner) is not a replaceable part and since that is the case, the warranty will not cover. Im upset that the repair technician did not process the claim properly and state that the make had a problem freezing. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? I know they hope to sell more appliances this way but you can bet I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool anything! I will also be retracting my recommendations to friends and family to purchase a Whirlpool. The company does not stand behind its products.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine F1 code - We have had this washing machine for over 6 years now, and ever since our 3 year warranty time was up, the washing machine will only stop, and display the F1 code as soon as the wash cycle has completed, with 23 minutes left. To start off, with this problem, it is causing me more water, and electricity that should not have to be wasted if the machine worked properly. I called the place where I got the machine, and was told to give Whirlpool a call. I did this, and was told that there was nothing that could be done, and if I would like to schedule an appointment for a tech to come out and work on it, they could do that. YES, I would have to pay for it. Needless to say, the washer has been doing this for over 6 years, and if there is a way to get it fixed WITHOUT having to pay for the repairs, that would be wonderful.

I purchased this set in November 2013, it is now October 2014. I made the same mistake as many others have made (according to the reviews that I have read on this site). Because I have owned Whirlpool brand appliances before - including washers/dryers - I assumed this new HE machine set would be every bit as good + quality. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework!Everyone is right - this Cabrio HE washer/dryer combo is nothing more than expensive JUNK!. My complaints are all the same as everyone elses: the clothes do not get clean, soap residue remains on clothes, the clothes even have parts of the articles come out of the wash cycle dry not even having had the water touch the articles in areas! The dryer has been repaired once already for a dryer sensor problem & overheating, now both the washer & dryer are making some ridiculous hum-drum noises! Even with the extended warranty that I purchased, I can see the loop holes built into it; theyve got me over a barrel with the nonsense mumble-jumble tactics of having to qualify for adequate service repairs for replacement of parts (3x on each machine) they cant find, before even attempting to negotiate a buyout that will never happen. Never again, Whirlpool anything!!!

It does not save water. I went from 5000 gal to 13000 gal in one month! It doesnt wash clothes. Everything comes out with the same spots they went in with and then some. Light colors come out with what looks like grease spots and whites come out with black spots. I have had it five months and have used six of the monthly cleaning tabs. Clothes get tangled and torn because of the speed of the spin cycle even on delicate. This unit needs to be recalled and redesigned or customers should be offered a different washer of their choice within the price range of this unit.

I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (WWT5640xw0) at Lowes in East Orlando in 2009. It has worked without issue (other than a slight odor) from then until today, 5-1-12. It has now refused to agitate or spin any clothing, it emits a slight burning smell from the basket, and the basket, when it does decide to spin, spins about as fast as a merry-go-round, banging into the sides of the washer (causing the metal on the sides to bulge out every time it strikes them). It is self-destructing.I called Whirlpool, and they simply refused to address any questions, once I told them that I did not have an extended service plan and that my unit was older than 12 months. I informed them that I refused to pay for an ESP, because I refuse to pay additional monies in order for the product to perform as advertised. They were rude. I said bad words. The call ended.$600 was gone. And I now have to run out and buy another washer, and I can promise you it will not be a Whirlpool. I am a local law enforcement officer. I would love to speak with an attorney about this if a class action suit is pending. I am beyond pissed. My moms chartreuse-colored Maytag still works after almost 30 years of service to our family. It required a new drive belt at somewhere around year 17. The belt cost $45.The Whirlpool CS rep informed me in a surprisingly snarky fashion that it would probably cost over $360 for the total cost of repair and that the only way to know exactly how much is to schedule a service call. I was also told that I would be on the hook for $100 for the service call even if I declined the repair.

Whirlpool wdf530plym4 - Bought this dishwasher 5/13. Sat for 3 months in the box while my kitchen was being built. 7/14 pump motor went out, called Whirlpool, they set me up with an appliance repair company, and I ended up paying $90. The technician was being nice, charging me less than he needed to since he said it was an easy fix. 1/26/2015 pump motor went out again. Called Whirlpool again. Lady on phone was very snooty with me, telling me it was out of warranty. Told them I was very dissatisfied, my dishwasher has broken 2x in 18 months and all she said was, I should have bought the extended warranty. Dishwasher is not even 2 years old and already needs to be fixed 2x. The most expensive part on the machine I may add. Going my average, I can keep dumping $130 every 9 months to have a working dishwasher by Whirlpool. I would understand if the thing broke after 2 or 3 years. I only run the thing 2 or 3x a week at the most.

Replaced the line, thawed it out multiple times, added extra line under the fridge in the coils to try and warm up the water in the line between the 90 degree elbow connector and the dispenser... no luck. We purchased KitchenAid Model YKESS907SS05 Electric Range from Appliance Ca
We purchased KitchenAid Model YKESS907SS05 Electric Range from Appliance Canada April 2012, just before we took possession of our new home. We began using the range in July of that year and it worked well until September 11, 2014. At that time we decided to use one of the features of the range which is the self-clean feature. During which the control panel failed and our oven ceased to work.We contacted Appliance Canada and they suggested a technician come to assess. We called the suggested number and they send a technician that was not Whirlpool certified and we had to pay out of pocket for the visit $158. He did absolutely nothing during the visit. We then called Whirlpool Canada and they informed us that he was not Whirlpool certified and to call Appliance Canada, we immediately called Appliance Canada and made arrangements to have certified technician come to assess. Whirlpool Canada also indicated at that time that the board that failed was still under warranty and we should not have to pay. September 22nd the second technician came to assess the situation, used tape to cover the front blowing air duct so as not to have the hot air blow back onto the control panel. This was a temporary fix, they ordered a control panel in the interim that they would then use to replace. The control panel came in October the 22nd, was replaced and the new board was faulty, put old one back in and re-ordered another board. The part was on back-order. By mid November, after numerous calls, we called Whirlpool directly. They authorized that the technician to get the part from another supply source. On November the 26th, technician came back - tried new board could not get it to work, left it with us and ordered additional parts. At that time the technician who was taking the case had a family emergency and would not be able to come back out until the new year. Subsequently, Appliance Canada authorized a new company to resume our work with a new technician (Toronto Appliance). He came out December the 17th, with the board that was left behind, he was able to get the oven working. December the 22nd while in the middle of cooking a meal, the oven failed again. We called Appliance Canada and they had a Technician scheduled to come December the 24th from Toronto Appliance. However, on December the 23rd the oven resumed working. The Technician came on the 24th but because the oven was working again could do nothing. On December the 31st, while dinner was in for guests, the oven failed yet again. We called Appliance Canada, yet again, and they scheduled another visit with a new control panel and additional board. The technician arrived again today, January the 28th, and could not get the stove working. He was instructed to order an additional part and we are to wait another 2 weeks. In total, we have been waiting for 4 and a half months, we have also been told that we were not to have used the self-clean as this causes these types of problems. Why is it offered, in addition, Whirlpool has not supported our direct calls, nor authorized the replacement of a product, that for all intents and purposes, is faulty. We have had no success in the resolution of this issue nor support to reach a resolution from all parties involved. I would suggest not buying any product from those involved as their lack of support for their product is appalling.

We purchased a Whirlpool gas range at Home Depot. After less than 2 years the oven would cut off and the time would start flashing. Check on other peoples problems and found out that I was not the only one. Called Whirlpool and the man on the phone told me I could have a problem with the circuit board. Said he could sell me a 1-year warranty to cover service and parts. I think the best thing to do is to buy another oven and not spend any more money on this junk. Never again will I buy Whirlpool or buy appliances from Home Depot

My Whirlpool refrigerator model #ED5FHEXV001, serial #HR0248 - I have spoken to a couple of reps on the phone. I am very dissatisfied because it was like one rep I spoke with on the telephone advised me to buy an extended warranty and at that time, the company would consider alternative ways to deal with this complaint and perhaps replace the refrigerator. I did not want to pay an additional $100 for a warranty, unless the company would guarantee me a solution, preferably my money back. I did not really believe the warranty would help me after the warranty was expired. I would still have the same problem and I feel that in the event after the extra warranty expired, the company would tell me I should have kept the coils clean, which is my complaint. There is no way to keep the coils clean. I guess blowing out the residue, then all that residue material would end up all in my house. Also, very important, there have been 3-4 technicians to my house the first year. I was told various things to do, such as adjust the refrigerator to a lower setting and freezer to a little higher setting. One tech actually replaced a part? The second tech said he would clean the coils. The last tech told me the problem was my coils had to stay clean. My question is, how the heck is that possible with the coils on the bottom of the fridge and susceptible to a lot of dust and dirt, unless I move my fridge everyday? Most people do not expect to have to clean under the fridge each day and the coils would still be dirty anyway. It is very dumb that the coils are not on the back of the fridge. With the fridge coils on the back, I have never experienced this problem. Please advise what my next step would be. Thank you.

I purchased a Whirlpool Slide in Range Model WEG750HOHZ on March 23, 2019. After 7 days the oven would start on its own. I contacted Whirlpool Safety Team and they scheduled a service call. The following week the service company came out to tell me the computer that runs the oven needs to be replaced. Yet another week goes by to find out that they are still waiting on parts to come in. I should have demanded a full replacement oven. After spending nearly $2000 on an oven I can’t even use. Will never buy a Whirlpool product again.

Maybe they make some higher end ovens but ours was not one of them. The oven light fixture works intermittently and its only been 8 months that we have had it. The insulation on the oven is lacking as well. You can turn the oven off at 450 and within 15 mins its already below 200.

I suppose the idea was good - less water. However, when you are washing clothes, water and agitation are key. Without an agitator, clothes are just spun around with water and detergent. This washing machine (WTW4950XW2) couldnt clean any dirt off clothes. Clothes go in dirty. They come out damp, wrinkled, and dirty. I got this washing machine free from my father and am thinking I got ripped off. No wonder he gave it away. Piece of junk.

We purchased Model # WFG231LVQ from Appliance Connections. Its a 5 burner with oven. When my husband went to clean the stove door, the bottom handle fell off because the heat from the oven had melted it brittle. Weve had this stove less than 3 months. Then we see where the clips that hold the glass on the front door have melted. The plate that separates the burner from the oven has bowed and splintered the porcelain. And the oval griddle burner only puts out flames on one side. Whirlpool sends a repairman out. He states that they really make them cheap these days. Writes down the whole list of things wrong with it. Repairman calls us back and reports that Whirlpool only wants to replace the parts. Im afraid to use my oven. I want it replaced or my money back!

The refrigerators after a year all of the LED lights have gone out, and the refrigerator make a very loud noise. I have called customers service several times. Their respond is, Sorry. It only has a 1 year warranty. The cost of the light would be over $500.00 dollar and that dont included labor. Dont even know the cost of fixing the loud noise. I just want people to be aware of Whirlpool appliances. After only 1 year of service it not going to work. Whirlpool will not fixed them. It sad we work hard to get a home and how will have to spend a fortune to get them fixed. Whirlpool you need to make better equipment. We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator to match the other appliances in our kitchen. The unit was purchased in June of 2012. Two and a half years later, it quit making ice and would not maintain proper cooling temps. Not to mention the noise coming from the compressor. So we had a certified tech come out and he said that it was the sealed refrigeration system. He stated that he had seen this issue a lot with whirlpool refrigerators. He said that what they don’t tell you is that it is covered for 3 years but good luck with getting any satisfaction. The cost to fix it you ask? $700.00. Might as well just buy a new one. Took a shot in the dark and called Whirlpool customer service. Gave the girl my information and model number. I got the “Sorry, but your model number is not covered by the sealed refrigeration warranty.” Then I got the ole, “Is there anything else today?” Well, she got the wrong man on the phone this day. I asked her to give me a model number that is covered by the warranty and I will purchase that one. You could have heard a pin drop. I don’t guess she’s been asked that before. She starts to ramble and said, “Well, there are just so many, I could not possibly tell you. Some are and some aren’t.” (Remember that statement) You mean she can tell me that mine was not covered, but could not tell me which models were covered. Huh??? Long story short. I argued with her for an hour on the phone and she finally breaks down and admits that Whirlpool does not warranty the sealed systems on their refrigerators any longer because they are considered value brands. What are value brands you ask? I asked the same thing. I was informed that a value brand is of lower cost to draw people to buy the product. Remember in the movie Back to the Future when Doc Brown said he sold a nuclear weapon to the Libyans at a good price but it was just filled with pinball machine parts? Well, there you go. I get the supervisor on the phone and she has the I’m going to be strict with this customer voice. She basically blames me in the fact that I failed to purchase the extended warranty. You’re right, my fault. How dare I have the nerve to think that a one thousand dollar value Whirlpool refrigerator would last no further than two and a half years? My bad on that one lady. The end result; I was told that I could purchase a new Whirlpool refrigerator and be sure to get the extended warranty. Yeah, why don’t go practice falling down Whirlpool, I’ll be there in a minute. (That was sarcasm by the way).

Weve had our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer just over a year. I like them both but then we are having problems with our lid. The first one cracked after 9 months and they replaced the lid. Two months later, the new one cracked and they replaced the hinges and lid again. I assure you we are very careful when lowering and lifting the lid. I do 80% and my husband does 20%, and we are very cautious of it especially after the second one broke. Now, I was just putting laundry in and the third one cracked while lifting the lid. There is obviously a problem, and Im wondering if anyone else is having the same issues. Eventually, it will crack all the way through which will cause the glass to pop up and the lid wont lock. We moved into our new condo a few months ago and my wife noticed that the knobs and front of our new Whirlpool Stove were getting too hot to touch so we called Whirlpool and since then never used stove. Was over one year old, we had to call their factor service representative. The charge was $98 plus labor $90 to tell us that even though the surfaces were way too hot to touch and dangerous to touch they were still within the factory specs of 167 degrees for the knobs, 152 degrees for the drawer, and 172 degrees for the front glass. He found the front of the unit reached 152 degrees which was hot enough to cause a serious burn when the stove was only set to 400 degrees. Why would a company set specs that will cause serious injuries? If my wife or grandchildren get burned by this crappy stove Whirlpool will be hearing from my lawyer. Stay away from any Aquaclean Whirlpool stove.

On 3/31/2012, we purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (model #ED5FVGXWS07, serial #HR14602963) from the electronic appliance store called SuperCo, located at 17523 Colima Road, City of Industry, CA. Within around a month, we noticed that things kept in the refrigerator all showed weird phenomena; raw eggs were frozen inside the shells and ice is frozen on food and utensils stored, not in the freezer, but on the fridge side. At the same time, all food kept in the refrigerator turned bad easily, especially during summer time. Cooked food went bad and had a bad smell within just three days of being kept in the fridge. Also, the ventilator-like part on top of the fridge (the part which released cold air) had ice frozen around it from time to time.Obviously, the fridge was not working, as the freezer was not cold enough and the side was either making food turn bad or causing ice to freeze on stuff kept inside. The temperature seemed to be extremely uneven inside. We then asked SuperCo for repairs or a replacement, but they refused and referred us back to the manufacturer, Whirlpool. Repair services have been called three times on 2012, according to the paperwork records I have: a) on 5/31/2012, bad damper was broken and replaced; b) on 6/7/2012, (according to paper records from SuperCo), replaced parts; and c) on 6/20/2012, turned ice maker off and cleaned (the hand writing was hard to read). Then, around December of 2012, after the services, we experienced another great problem with this fridge again. When ice cream was kept in the freezer, they appear to have melted and my brother suffered from diarrhea after eating the ice cream. The ventilator-like part on top of the fridge still had ice frozen around it. We then took pictures as fresh vegetables kept at the bottom drawer of the fridge had ice frozen on it, too. I finally emailed Whirlpool through their official website on 2/7/2013 and asked for a new fridge replacement based on the Lemon Rule. An e-solutions specialist, Judy, replied that the product was warranted for a specified time period for repairs, not the replacement of the product, and Whirlpool declined my request for a replacement.Repair service was then requested by me for the fourth time, through email. On 2/21/2013, this fourth repair company came and checked the fridge. After a detailed inspection, the technician concluded that some parts of the fridge needed to be replaced, one of the parts called the thermostat. Strangely, after he called his company, he changed all that he said before and claimed that the fridge was 100% working and that no repairs were needed at all. Even when we showed him the frozen vegetables from the fridge side that we got recently, he insisted that the fridge had no problems at all and left. The way Whirlpool responded to my request was extremely disappointing, with their refusal to replace the fridge after three complete repair visits, and the fourth visit changing the inspection conclusion with no reason. Of course, the disappointment is greatest with the extremely bad quality of this electronic appliance. As of this moment, my fridge could still not keep food well and is causing us bad health. I think the only way I could go to now is to take action against the company for the lemon refrigerator, for breach of warranty, and maybe fraud.

Washing clothes is a nightmare. I am constantly removing clothing from the washing machine that have been torn and left with holes. I am utterly frustrated. Because the machine is more than three years old, there has been no solution to my problem. I have now replaced clothing items in excess of $2,000. I am always here that they will send a repairman and yet there is still the problem. This machine is costing me too much money. The newer machines have fixed the problem. There is no gap between the drum and the doorway or rubber piece. I want that piece to stop this nightmare. This machine has taken a dream of mine and demolished the experience. I purchased an expensive dishwasher made by Whirlpool and sold at Lowe’s. Immediately upon receiving the dishwasher I noticed a good size scratch. I had it serviced within one month of purchase because dishes were coming out dripping wet. Technician came out and told me I needed to add rinse aid. I had been using rinse aid, which I think is ridiculous to have to buy an additional bottle of something that’s not even cheap just so this thing dries dishes but moving on...Now it’s been 1.7 years and I’m having more problems. Top rack of dishwasher is broken and falls to the side every time you pull it out. The door to dishwasher also no longer has any spring. I take very good care of my things and this just unbelievable. I called Lowe’s they won’t help because it’s been more than a year! I guess Lowe’s can’t stand behind their merchandise for more than a year because they know they’re selling garbage. I called Whirlpool directly and was told they would come out and service my appliance for a minimum charge if $189! I have no words. I need to buy a stove in the next week and I assure you I will steer clear of Whirlpool. Like the title of my review I feel absolutely robbed.

On 02/25/13 we purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series side by side (French door) refrigerator with an ice maker at the cost of $1,850.00. In April of 2014 the ice maker stopped working and the freezer at the bottom would not freeze food. Luckily for us it was still under warranty and was repaired. At the time of the repair, the repairman (associated with HHGregg) told us that the refrigerator should have been replaced since the cost of the repair was more than the fridge itself. Now July 20th, 2015, the same issue has surfaced. Again the ice maker will not work and the freezer wont freeze. I would not recommend this product or if you do pay the extended warranty.

Plumber had to be called in and he has had 3 of this same model replaced! Years ago you could trust Whirlpool. Now apparently not. Whirlpool Corp. stands behind its products. Bought the Cabrio Washer in June 2011. Lid cracked in October 2012 and was not covered under the Lowes extended warranty because they called it a wear item. However, our local Lowes store in Avondale, PA replaced it for us. In December 2013, the lid cracked again. I called Whirlpool customer service and they couldnt do anything. I called the Whirlpool corporate headquarters and was directed to a member of their executive staff. After explaining my situation, Whirlpool agreed to send me a new door free of charge and even pay to have it installed (which I told them I can do myself). Aside from the cracking of two doors, this washer is an exceptional unit. Its good to see Whirlpool stands behind its products this way, outside of the warranty period. I would guess that they always hear a lot of whining and complaining, but it seems if you explain things logically, people listen and are willing to help.

Wait till Monday to PAY to have this one uninstalled. Haul it upstairs, into my car, back to Lowes, so I can get a new one. Haul it home. Pay AGAIN to have it installed.I was without hot water for 10 days and paid about 4 time the cost of the heater in labor to get through this MESS. I talked with Customer Service to get some help with how terribly unfair this was. Warranty Only Covers parts - should have bought the extra warranty... Silly me - I thought Whirlpool was a reputable and reliable brand. Boy was I WRONG!!! DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR THE NAME - NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! I also dont recommend paying extra for the Energy Efficient. Its added electronics that just give it more to go wrong. Plain and simple is the lesson for the day!!! The technician was nice enough to explain to me that its a common problem with those machines. However, Whirlpool is not willing to stand by their product and repair it free of charge. Any other product would of been recalled and repaired. That goes for cars, baby products, and so on. But not Whirlpool, I called and spoke to Andrea in Michigan who told me that there is nothing that they are willing to do. After reading the other reviews and their terrible one star average rating it doesnt surprise me. Shame on me for not researching this product before buying. I hope this saves someone else from making the same mistake. In case your wondering, it cost me $117.00 to have the tech look at the machine. The labor would of cost $125.00 and the part is $251.00........

I called Whirlpool warranty and requested service.Approximately 10 days later, a repairman from Convenience Appliances Service Inc. (repair tech) came and fixed that problem (wasnt drying). My wife turned on the dishwasher the very same day and we came back and the floor was flooded with water. We believe this was contributed to the initial repair and has never happened prior to that. Fast forward, approximately 5 service calls or more later (not embellishing), the dishwasher is still not repaired and the technician can’t figure out where the leak is coming from. On 02/25/2019, I received a phone call from Ms. **, Whirlpool/AIG care team (AIG is the underwriter) and was offered $540.75 and I would be required to complete a “proof of destruction affirmation” form.I accepted the offer and received an email the same day stating: Thank you for contacting Whirlpool Extended Service Plans Consumer Care Team. Per our conversation, I have attached the affirmation of destruction for your dishwasher. Please verify the information, sign, and return to us. Once we receive the affirmation of destruction back, we will start to process your prepaid debit card. That card takes 10 to 15 business days to process and will arrive to you by FedEx. If you have further questions or concerns regarding your Whirlpool appliances, please contact us directly by calling toll-free (866) 931-7390 to reach a representative for immediate addressing of these issues between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET daily, or by emailing AIGservice@whirlpool.com whenever the need arises. Sincerely, Mable. U.S. AIG CARE TEAM.That same day, I received an emailed the affirmation of destruction form back to Whirlpool on 02/25/2019. I was impressed at the time that they reviewed the repair case history and made this fair offer. My wife and I began to look for a new dishwasher and canceled the future service appointment with Convenience Appliance Services because of the offer and acceptance. On 03/01/2019, I received a call from Convenience Appliance stating that Whirlpool contacted them and they are taking back their offer because their employee (Whirlpool) didn’t follow the terms of the contract. I called Whirlpool/AIG care team and spoke to ByonBera who stated that she was sorry to hear this complaint and would forward this to her manager for resolution. On 03/04/2019, I received an additional call from the Convenience Appliance Services Inc. and they stated that Whirlpool representative was not very nice to them and that they still wanted them to come out again to my residence on 03/11/2019. On 03/04/2019, I called Whirlpool/AIG care team again, and spoke to Tandy, who again apologized and read their company script and that they are sorry but still reneged on their offer. She then transferred me to John, who again read through his script/terms of the policy. I explained in detail that Whirlpool contacted (as per their email) me directly and they made the deal. I never called and asked. I completed the affirmation of destruction as requested and was promised $540.75 within 10 to 15 days by FedEx. John stated that he would have to kick this up to their resolution department above him to see if this can be rectified. John stated that this has never happened where the customer is involved (mistakes are normally caught before the customer is contacted) and that he could understand my complaint and frustrations. I received a call back from John on 03/04/2019 that Whirlpool will not keep their offer and that a repairman will go out as scheduled even though they made the offer without solicitation! Incredibly upsetting and disappointed!!! I have never experience anything even close to this from a major company like Whirlpool. It is evident that they don’t keep their word, that customer satisfaction doesn’t matter even if they are 100 percent wrong, and that their dealing are very deceitful! We since canceled our order for a new dishwasher and are now forced to wait for the next repair attempts again. If you get anything from this long-winded review, really think twice of making a Whirlpool purchase, or their extended warranty! Whirlpool really could care less of their customers and in addition, their warranty, in my opinion, is a scam. After this I, nor my family will ever purchase a Whirlpool brand appliance again. So please be careful and learn from my experience. Never again! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves.

In July I purchased a Whirlpool Gold oven and cooktop from Lowe’s. It was delivered in Aug. after a 5 wk wait, since it had to be ordered. Since installation, the hot surface light on the cooktop stays on. I called in & was told to try resetting the elec. breaker. Did that... still stays on. Model G7CE3034XB00, Serial D43005649. On Sept. 4th I called & spoke to Carrie (I believe in TN) who told me she would try to find a service tech in my area & would get back to me in 3-5 days. Apx. 5 days later she called & left a message on my cell phone stating that she could not locate a service tech in my area. I would need to find my own service tech & submit any invoices to the resource dept for reimbursement. Parts could be ordered at no charge. I have nothing in writing from the company to confirm I would be reimbursed, nor was I told how to correspond with the resource dept in the event I had an invoice to submit for reimbursement.Today, Sept. 18th, 2014, I called Whirlpool again (800-253-1301) & talked to Stephanie in Michigan. She told me the same info. When I asked to be sent a wiring schematic I was told I didnt need one. When I asked how to get in touch with the resource dept. I was given a fax no. & email acct. When I asked how I was supposed to get in touch if I didnt have either, she said I should go to the local library. Now lets imagine for a moment that I am disabled or live so far out in the country that I cannot get to the library... How am I supposed to get to a fax or email acct. Has anyone at Whirlpool considered that? This is a new appliance under full warranty, yet it has become my job to find a service tech, pay up front, & wait for reimbursement. REALLY??? I am also in the market for a new dishwasher & you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool!

Bought this washer NEW 4 yrs ago. Now sounds like a freight train in the house when in use. Whirlpool customer service is absolutely USELESS!!! They do not stand behind their product and refuse to acknowledge what is a common issue. PISS POOR and will NOT give me a number to a higher up. Absolute disgrace!!!UPDATED ON 10/28/2015: This is an update to my previous review. 1st, I contacted Whirlpool who was absolutely NO help whatsoever and the person I spoke to refused to put me through to higher ups on the food chain. I was wrong in my previous review when I stated that we purchased the washer & dryer 4 yrs ago. It was purchased in January 2012. Started making noise in 2014 and has progressively turned into the sound of a freight train. I also failed to mention the stench that comes from this machine. It has also got to the point where it quits with 10 minutes to go in every wash. Whirlpool did send out a Whirlpool certified technician, which they paid for, who stated this has been a common issue with these and other models of Whirlpool Cabrio wash machines. Says in his 3 yrs with the company he has seen and diagnosed over 30 machines with basically the same issues (bearings are SHOT) and Whirlpool refuses to accept any responsibility for the defective design and that, in his opinion, they shouldve never been released. He gave me an estimate of $257.13 to repair. We decided to go ahead with the repair and technician came out only to tell me that there has been a re-work in the design of the replacement parts as Whirlpool realized they were faulty. So I now have to wait for the NEW designed replacement parts to come in as they are back ordered. WTF does that mean??? Shouldnt there be a RE-CALL and shouldnt they accept responsibility for this??? This has been, without a doubt, the most disappointment weve had with any purchase of a NEW appliance or, anything else for that matter, in our lives. After reading through some of these same complaints Im wondering if this machine is nothing, but a money pit and whats going to go wrong next. We also purchased the Cabrio dryer at the same time and have had no issues with it as of this time, but I assure you, I wait with baited breath. Their customer service department is piss poor AT BEST!! Please, stay away from ALL Whirlpool appliances in the future.
