Clothes dont always come out clean. If there is anything more than 2 sheets in the washer, it becomes unbalanced and then goes through a rinse until the water is up to the top! You have to watch any heavy load for this! Today there were 3 sheets in the washer and sure enough it kept rinsing until I physically reached in and rearranged the sheets. Then when it was done and I pulled the sheets out to put in the dryer, they were SOAKING wet! I hate this machine and will NEVER get an HE washer again.

This was the first new appliance that I had actually ever had and I purchased it in October of 2010. After four months, it started make a grinding sound. I called Whirlpool and the repair man replaced the motor. Approximately four months after that, the lid got stuck and the machine would not respond. Same routine as before, but this time the transmission was replaced. While the machine was apart, I noticed the white insulating panel from the bottom was brown in a spot and looked as if it had gotten hot. A month before the 1 year warranty expired, the washer started making an intermittent grinding sound nearly identical to the sound made when the motor went out. This time a different service company was sent out my Whirlpool and the said that nothing was wrong. Now, the machine is out of warranty and has stopped cleaning close and during the spin cycle the you can hear water running into the machine constantly. Last months water bill shows a 40% increase in water consumption when nothing has changed to incur a larger bill. Seeing all these comments makes me wonder why the heck nothing is being done to force recalls on such poor products. Consumers should be treated with a lot more respect than this. I will never recommend a Whirlpool product to anyone I meet. In fact, I will strongly discourage anyone who is contemplating buying a Whirlpool washer machine.

I am concerned that Whirlpool microwaves installed over the stove have extremely faulty doors. I have two homes in which I have Whirlpool microwaves, and both have huge cracks in the door and small pieces inside the doors beginning to fall out. It deeply concerns me that it will cost more to replace the doors than to replace the microwaves. I have always believed in Whirlpool appliances but now feel that I will have to change brands. My question is “What in the world is wrong with your doors that they crack so easily and the company holds no responsibility with such faulty work?” I would simply think that this was just a faulty door on my microwave, but I have two that are cracked! This definitely means you have a faulty product.

The appliances in my home range from a Kitchen Aid double wall oven, a DCS single wall oven (I have 2 Kitchens), 2 Kenmore dishwashers, a Fisher and Paykel refrigerator and 2 DCS counter-top stoves (all top of the line). No problems they are great appliances. On Dec.22, I bought a Whirlpool Duet. For 6 months, constant repairs and rebuilds were needed; new computer panels, pumps and new drums. They cant fix it. We have tried everything to get the Whirlpool Factory to fix it or replace it. So far, I have spent twice the original cost to fix the machine (but to no avail) and now you want me to spend another $500-$600 to try to fix it again? No more!

I have had this washer for a little over one year, it now does not work! I had a service tech out to look at it.. The motor gets too hot and the switchboard stops working. I have called Whirlpool twice and the options they have given me are not good! Basically it would be about half the price of a new washer! I should not be having these problems with a washer this new! I am very disappointed with Whirlpool and wont purchase this brand again!

On Dec 18, 2015, my hot water heater located in my garage started spewing water out into my garage, driveway, and into the street. I called Lowes, whom I purchased the water heater in Jan 2011, in which it was still under warranty. I was told to call (Whirlpool) 877 817 6750, the order was placed for a gas shut out valve after going through a check system. I was then given the names of two local preferred technicians to repair water heater, whom was not available. The representative from Whirlpool (American water heater) told me I can get the plumber of my choice, authorization number was given. I had to call the (Whirlpool) (American Water Heater) back and was told the part was ordered 2 times. The first part will come on Dec 19, 2015 by UPS, and that the second part will come on Dec 21 by UPS, that a prepackaged label for return will be attached, and to tape the 2 boxes together to send back to the company--one box with the old part, and one box with the new. So, I sent the boxes to an address in Junction City, Tn. But I was not sent prepaid label, so I kept by word and spent $14. I will not be reimbursed according to American Water in which I followed their directions to a tee. So the walk away, the customer is always wrong, staff is not being trained the right way, and as a customer I am out of money and making adjustments to the way of customer service. No service. Just a waste of time, effort, and money.

I purchased the Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer and Dryer in the spring of 2010. Washer bearings just broke. I was told that the bearings in these machines are not strong enough to support the spin cycles. It is very disappointing to think that a company like Whirlpool would have their customers pay $1000 for a machine they know is not going to last. I agree with Julie. Maybe a class action lawsuit needs to be filed. Is there a lemon law for washing machines?

On 11-29-2014 we were washing our laundry and our whirlpool washing machine started making a really loud noise so I went to investigate the problem. I open the bottom part of the washer to find out that the whole cement block to balance the drum was on the floor of the washer so I called the 1800 number on the machine and no one at whirlpool corporation wanted to even help. No one said sorry. No one said Let me see if I can help. No one. Every one I talked to they cant help at all. No one apologized once about the poor product that whirlpool sells and the defect that their products has. My washer is one year and one month old. So I can say truly with confidence that whirlpool product are the worst in the world plus their customer service even more. It is very sad after we paid all kind of money for our washer now I have to buy another one after one year and one month. Very bad customer service.

Bought this washer in 2013 for close to $800. About a year and half old it got real loud sounds like a freight train. Asked whirlpool repairman about it, and was told it is a main bearing going out. He said it would cost over $500 to fix it. Whirlpool warranty sucks - only one year. Called whirlpool, told them the problem and asked if this is a problem with this washer. Got told no they have no problems with it. Found out later not only do they have this problem with it they change design because of it. Repairman said his own daughter had same problem and he had many service calls on this model all with same problem. WHIRLPOOL WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE PRODUCT WHICH IS A MANUFACTURE DEFAULT. It sets in our house unusable. I will never buy a whirlpool product again. Sad because that use to be all I would buy.

DO NOT buy Whirlpool branded electric ovens. Whirlpool put out an update and it fried the control board of our electric built in oven. They refuse to fix it. They have kept us on hold for two hours and then tell us there is nothing they can do to fix it. We had an extended warranty that just “disappeared from their system.” They told us someone would call back us but no one has. This was an update we were told we had to run in order to use the associated APP. Our oven is only 2-years old. We now will need to pay for the repair ourselves. DO NOT BUY.

My Whirlpool Cabrio cannot wash sheets, blankets or any of this size. It balls up in the middle and form a bubble and only part of the items is washed and washing powders are trapped. I have purchased more sheets in the past 4 years than I have in the past 45 years of doing laundry, because the washing powders are not washed out. I wash on second rinse also, never fails and it still does not get all of it out. The clothing gets off balance if it was more than 3 small items. I have a leveling tool that I put on it often to make sure it is level. It’s something within the machine. I will never, never, never purchase any more Sears’ product. If anyone has jury-rigged this machine to work, please let me know. Sears has refused to help me, even today.

They said I should receive it by Wednesday August 27th. I had to pay extra for the shipping. Here I am September 2nd w/ no bracket. Called again. They said it wasnt next day shipping, it was 2 day shipping and its at the post office. But the shipping number they gave me was for the one screw. I believe I should get my money back. I bought a new home from Pulte recently. All of the kitchen appliances were Whirlpool which came with a 1 year warranty. I have had problems with 2 out of the three that were installed. The oven had a faulty control panel. I am still waiting for the replacement from Whirlpool which I am told could be months getting there. The dishwasher they installed, FX1700017, leaks water from the vent at the top of the door. When you open the door after running a load, there is a puddle under the vent from water that is trapped in the vent. The service company that they sent out said it is a design flaw and there is no fix for it.Whirlpool just keeps saying since there arent any error codes coming up, there isnt a problem with the way the dishwasher is functioning. I was told I could pay for another opinion, but they wouldnt guarantee to reimburse me if they couldnt prove the dishwasher wasnt functioning properly. I guess they dont consider someone slipping and falling because they didnt see the puddle before it got cleaned up a problem. I have given up trying to get anywhere with Whirlpool. I will take my $150.00 for a second opinion and the $200.00 that they want for an extended warranty and put it toward a dishwasher that doesnt leak! Beware!!

Multiple issues with this two-year-old refrigerator. Do not buy! The exterior stainless steel doors rust in sporadic locations. According to a quick google search, it is a widely known issue that Whirlpool has not addressed. We have never used abrasive cleaners, only wipes that are made for stainless appliances. We use them on all of our stainless appliances. The fridge is the only one that now has 10+ areas of pitting rust. It continues to spread! What the heck?Secondly, the ice maker stopped working at 16 months. First it was just the auger that stopped turning. Which was inconvenient but not the end of the world. It still produced ice, but we had to open the door and pull ice out instead of having it dispensed. Now it has stopped producing ice altogether. We had the repair guy out today. Apparently, the motor for the auger and the actual ice maker are not receiving power any longer. The certified tech said it was either the main control board or bad wiring somewhere from the control board to the ice maker. For a small fortune, we can try putting in a new board. If the new board doesnt work, we will then know it is a wiring issue. If it is a wiring issue, we will have paid for a new board that was not needed, and we are out of luck completely on the wiring issue. Part of the wiring is sealed within the freezer door. A new freezer door costs nearly as much as the fridge. Part of the wiring is sealed in the back of the fridge. It is impossible to open the seal without breaking the fridge, because the back is a sealed system. But it does keep our food cold. Just dont put anything the top shelf of the fridge because it will freeze. Thanks for the 1 year warranty Whirlpool! You timed it perfectly! What a joke.

Stove - three different stoves were delivered with the same paint flaw on the top of the control panel (3 inch section where paint did not adhere or was scraped off... Same spot on all three... clearly a factory issue). Stove door - when you touch it the interior light goes on. Warming button and switch was broken when purchased but didnt notice. A repairman was sent out a few days later, who could not solve the problem because a piece had to be ordered. The piece was ordered and the repairman came to install the part on December 28, 2011.The refrigerator is still not working at all. We have been without ice for this period of time, not to mention the inconvenience of non-refrigeration of food. I pleaded for them to pick up the refrigerator and give me even a partial refund. In less than a year the noise started, then the freezer became a refrigerator and my frozen stuff melted. 11 months after purchasing my Whirlpool 40 Gal Gas Water Heater N40T61-343 I woke to cold water one morning and found the LED flashing 4 times - high temperature shutdown. Unable to find any reset I called Whirlpool and after a couple questions, was sent a replacement control unit. Happily it arrived 2 days later. I was told then that it was because I had residue in the tank. I had no idea how he determined that because none of his questions even touched on that. Anyway, I had hot water.Nearly a year later now to the day and again I have no hot water. This time the pilot burns very weakly when I try to light it and then goes out. After three attempts I get 7 flashes on the LED - Gas Control Valve Failure, part of the same unit I replaced a year ago. Am calling tomorrow since its too late to go through any tech support steps over the phone that Im reading about on this site and seeing on Youtube. Honestly, I didnt replace the last heater because I had nothing better to do than replace parts on this one annually. No, I will not purchase another Whirlpool unit especially after reading all of the similar if not identical issues others are having.

I will never, ever, ever buy a Whirlpool appliance again. We bought the french door bottom mount refrigerator in 2013. After our warranty ran out, we had to have the guts of the refrigerator replaced and then the ice maker replaced again. Now the freezer door wont shut and I cannot believe that Whirlpool would put their name on this piece of junk! We splurged to get what we thought was a high end model but it has been problem after problem. RUN from Whirlpool!

I have had a terrible experience with fridge Whirlpool. Two fridges have been delivered to me in bad condition. The first one was aesthetically awful (looked old and used) and the freezer didnt work so it was exchanged. The second one works and it looks ok but it makes very loud noises all day every day. I live in an open concept condo and this fridge sounds like a train for more than an hour more than 5 times a day, it is terrible. I have been calling customer support for a solution and first of all, there are no technicians in my area, and since the fridge works as designed there is nothing to fix so Im stuck with a terrible noisy fridge that I hate and destroys my day which I paid a lot of money for thinking that the brand meant quality but it doesnt. Customer support doesnt respect the customer and their answer that the first works as designed makes me understand that Whirpool designs bad quality fridges. I have never heard a fridge making these noises, not even brands that are less named than Whirlpool. For your inner peace, I recommend you to stay away from Whirlpool-Maytag fridges... If the fridge is in bad condition (but working) youre going to be stuck with it. The brand doesnt really mean quality and support... it just means more expensive.

I ordered a washer dryer combination through Whirlpool. I was given a delivery date 2 weeks out. Whirlpool employees must be doing their laundry very sparingly if they think that this would not put a strain on a household. But I was willing to wait. I asked the date and they wouldnt give it to me. A week later they called with the date and I asked the time. Again they wouldnt give it to me. However they said they would give me the time the night before. They then called with the time, which was during work hours. I told them I would be unable to do this during work hours and they gave me the only other optional date, also during work hours. I finally agreed and took a 1/2 personal day. When I arrived home. I received a phone call from Whirlpool that they will not be delivering my washer/dryer unit at all and to pick a different date. I canceled altogether.UPDATED ON 02/24/2016: I have worked hard to not get upset at companies. However I feel that this is an especially poor company and I cant remain silent anymore. I bought a Duet Washer and dryer over the phone with Whirlpool. It took 3.5 weeks for it to get delivered because Whirlpool kept cancelling. Each time, I took a 1/2 personal day so that I could meet the delivery people within their 4-hour window frame. On the 3rd attempt, they were finally delivered and set up by the delivery men.During the 2nd time I ever used the product, it stopped working, making a horrible grinding noise. I had to unplug the machine. My husband came home and hes pretty handy. However he was unable to even press 1 button. I had a friend in the repair business come the next day and he was unable to repair it. I called Whirlpool again and they said theyd have a repairman out the next day. They outsourced the job to a local company and Whirlpool sent me a confirmation email with a time and date. Again I took a 1/2 personal day. After hearing from no one, I called the repair company. They said they had no record of me in the system. I cried.I called Whirlpool and was put on hold for 3 hours. I hung up and called again. They said my department closed 8 minutes ago and they couldnt take my call. I asked how that could happen considering you began the call 3 hours before that time and would have stayed on hold until I died had I not decided to hang up and try again. Every time previous to this I had been on hold for a minimum of 1 hour.I have been trying to return the product. They tell me that Im unable to because my product is functional. I told them it was in fact not functional, which was about the 3rd time I said this, and they said Ill have to call back 1st thing in the morning. I told them I cant risk any more work time to deal with this poor company. So they put me on hold again and thats where I remain. I am currently going on 27 minutes.

This is a horrible washer. It leaves a white residue on dark clothing and the clothes need to be rehashed. There is water that settles in to the fabric softener dispenser. Now the washer is leaking. My husband replaced the tub seal or whatever since he found this could be the problem while searching the internet. It is still leaking and we have no idea from where the water is coming. I agree with the other person that the Whirlpool customer service cares not that theyve manufactured a defective product.

We purchased a Whirlpool washer model WTW7500 in November of 2017. I found the clothes were not getting clean and also noticed that even after a full wash some parts of the clothing or sheets had dry spots! I checked all connections and called for service. As soon as the serviceman saw the machine he said, “yes, that’s a problem with those machines”. They are low water/water saving as per some American regulation and that’s what happens... you’re going to have to live with it. He also suggested running an extra rinse and using “deep water” function. I did this and it made very little difference except now a wash cycle for bedding is 104 minutes! Also, still had a big dry spot on my sheets! When I called again to Whirlpool they scheduled another repairman for a second opinion, turned out to be the same person with the same answers... I called Whirlpool again and was informed that my washing machine is working as designed! I argued that a washing machine is designed to wash and clean clothes so this one does not do what it is designed for... I spoke to the supervisor, she was actually just rude, also said I not had 30 days to make a complaint and I was outside of that, when I asked to speak to her supervisor she said there was no one above her although she denied being the owner of Whirlpool! (That’s my little joke). Anyway wish someone had warned me prior to this purchase.

I am old school & do not like the idea that I cannot open my machine without waiting until it slows to a stop before door will unlock. You do not know what level your water is unless opening door. You are not able to open door & see if you need more detergent. Water softener is the same -- do I need more/less, cant tell. But, the washer performs well & clothes are clean, even dirty jeans/work clothes.

I have previously owned a Maytag washer for 16 years that went through three children. They are older now and two years ago I decided to buy a Whirlpool Cabrio for the upgrade and large capacity. Well just like every other customer that purchased these crappy machine, I now own one of the worst washers in the history of washing machines. It started about 13 months after I bought it and now is completely broken. I am so angry that I spent the amount of money I did to be so disappointed. I have not abused this washer and I can hardly believe the customer service or lack there of, that this company supports. I would hope that people do their research before ever purchasing a whirlpool anything. TERRIBLE COMPANY and my Cabrio is heading to the landfill.... Thanks Whirlpool. YOU SUCK!

After installation, Im still getting F1 code and am now being told it is the ERC control board or water inlet valve either way a guessing game which in the end will have cost me over $400 to fix myself. Have owned my Whirlpool washer model# LSR 701 0PQ1 two years and had no problems with it before today... The washer was used once a week since I purchased it and only myself use it. There is only myself and my son and our loads are always small. Well today I put a load in and went to finish my other housework and when I went to check on the load, there was a weird smell in my laundry room. As I approach the washer to put softener in the rinse I saw a flash behind on the left hand side of the control panel where the size of load and water temperature selection is. I unplugged the washer and put the fire out. Have never had anything happen like this before with this brand. I already know I have to buy another washer but am scared to get another Whirlpool.

In November 2014, I purchased a Whirlpool 22 cu ft side by side refrigerator from my local appliance store. During that short time, there have been 4 instances where the ice clumps together and gets stuck, causing a large amount of ice to dump inside the freezer door. When the door is opened, the ice falls out onto the floor. I usually spend 10 minutes picking up ice and wiping up my kitchen floor. I have had the local store repairman over. He told me that was normal. Two things are seriously wrong with that statement. When I spend 1600.00 for a brand new appliance, I should be able to depend on the fact that it will function in at least a somewhat acceptable manner. Additionally, that statement by the repairman convinced me that he was not really interested in fixing the problem. I really dont think the normal operation of a new appliance is for it to make frequent, large messes for the owner to clean up. This appliance is junk and you would be foolish to purchase it. Spend a bit more money and buy a Samsung or LG. Save yourself the frustration and sense that you have been cheated and deceived by Whirlpool. I will never buy this brand again.

Our lid has snapped & has to be held down until the lock light comes on. Often times during the cycle it must sense the lid is broken & thinks it is not locked & sets the load off line. I have to pause the load & then reset the load & hold the lid down tight until it restarts.

I bought the Whirlpool French 4 door fridge WRX988SIBM 01. I like the way it stores and layout (other than the icemaker taking the entire left door out). But I got a lemon, I bought the Lowes 5 year warranty (with the 4 repairs replacement). The fourth repair and dead declaration was 5 years and a week (so just out of Lowes extended warranty by a week). The Death Certificate repair guy said they dont make em like they used to. So I am now buying another fridge - trying Samsung this time. Every fridge has a lemon once in awhile and with my luck... Well you can thank me for taking it off your hands! :) I am averaging 5 years per fridge. Thats a lot of money and I expect to get at least 10 years life on a major appliance.

Whirlpool WRF 990SLAM00 - Im 62, I have owned, and my family has owned a number of refrigerators and never have had any problems. I have been used to my refrigerators and major appliances lasting 15 plus years without any problems. I mostly bought Maytag washers and GE kitchen appliances. I had trouble with a GE dishwasher, out of warranty, but GE was very nice about it and came out and fixed it at no charge, then replaced it for free when it failed again. (No new problems in 4 yrs.). Then I made the big mistake of going with Whirlpool products in my new house in Florida, where I live half the year. What a mistake. First there was the Cabrio washer. After 1 yr and a week, It would not go to the spin cycle. I called Whirlpool, they said, Sorry, out of warranty. I told them, I only live in this place for half the year, so I have hardly used the machine. The Whirlpool person said, Sorry out of warranty. I asked for a supervisor and they were worse than the first person. The attitude was screw you, you should have bought the extended warranty. I called a repairman who fixed it for 150 dollars. During the spin cycle it gets really loud, but at least it works. Then the refrigerator. I arrived back in FL and the 1.5 year old refrigerator was not cooling. I called Whirlpool and said I needed a repairman. They said, Out of warranty, you can buy an extended warranty for 345 dollars. I said, No, a refrigerator should not fail at 1.5 years, send a repair man. He was great, but said the unit had a Freon leak somewhere in the box that was un-repairable. He told me, You need a new refrigerator. I will now call Whirlpool and see what they will do for me, but I expect little based on my experience with the washer, and others comments above. I will go back to all GE products after this as at least they seem to stand behind their products. Oh, and since Whirlpool now owns Maytag, as Whirlpool owns them now. Sad.

Whirlpool model WRV986FDEM Purchased May 31, 2017 from Lowes. Cost: 2,638.10 including 229.97 for the 5 year extended warranty. We’ve experienced four failures in the nearly four years we’ve owned this lemon. The first failure occurred within the one year manufacturer’s warranty period. The three failures since then have been fairly close together. Control boards and mechanical parts have been replaced. We are now waiting for a “made to order” part, with no scheduled delivery date. When I pressed Lowe’s on the reliability of this fridge, I was told that if four failures occur during the extended warranty period, they would give us a replacement. Considering the delays in repairs and frequency of failures, this is unacceptable. Do Lowes and Whirlpool expect their customers to just suck it up and do without a refrigerator for months while we wait? The warranty is worthless without prompt problem resolution. Whatever happened to real customer service?

On July 19, I was forced to buy a new washer. Bought a Frigidaire which, when connected to the water supply, started immediately dumping water into the drum. Sent this defective washer back to the retailer and chose a new Whirlpool. O-M-I-G-O-S-H! It was delivered on 25 July and despite having 4 temperature settings, it only worked on either hot or cold AND you could never tell what temperature was going to be chosen by this computerized wonder. I repeatedly called Customer Support and received three different answers on what temperature was considered warm. The answers ranged from 65 to 102 degrees. Also, you could open the lid when the water was running in, which washers are no longer supposed to do. Whirlpool then arranged for A & D Service to come and repair my NEW washer and scheduled an appointment for a week later. I was forced to call that company to find out if they were even coming. When they did not show as promised, I cancelled the appointment and called Whirlpool to ask for another service company. They then scheduled me for two weeks later (now August 30th). The guy did come and told me there was user error - I had used too much soap as this was an HE washer. I asked him to show me where on the appliance and in the owners manual that it stated the washer was an HE. He couldnt find it either and said he would replace the computer and the door lock because his computer found that the washer was hit and miss on anything it was set on. At any rate, it is a little over a week later and I have heard nothing from the repairman and, of course, no follow-up from Whirlpool. Do not make the mistake of buying any Whirlpool product, and that now encompasses names such as Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Kitchen-Aid and many more if you want to be assured of a quality product and excellent customer service. What if this had been a refrigerator? The whole debacle has been a nightmare. Wish I had bought a GE!

I bought a Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in the fall of 2009. For the first 4 years it worked fine. Since the spring of 2015, it started to stop working. I called the company, and they recommend their contractors to fix it. In less than a year, I had it repaired at least ten times. I spent more to repair it than I bought it. This water heater has a 10-year warranty on it. Per the companys recommendation, I replaced the thermocouple, clean it, have it regularly serviced. The technician told us we need to change the gas valve assembly. When I called, they sent a burner assembly. When I called, they asked me about the exhaust pipe, whether it is go through the roof or go through the side of the house. I took several pictures of the exhaust system and sent to them. I called, one of the people on the company side said my exhaust was wrong, and need to be repaired by a HVAC company. I asked what is wrong? They dont tell me. I sent emails, and called to ask an answer, and got nothing. My impression is that they dont want to deal with the issues and simply want the consumer to get tired and replace the water heater. It really shows the total disregard of the interest of the consumers. This should not be the way people do business in the United States. When a big company has large numbers of lawyers, they can ignore the law. What a corrupt system!

I purchased the Stainless Steel, side by side with water and ice dispenser, model #WRS325FDAM04 on 11/30/16, paying over $1,600 for the refrigerator. We had trouble from the beginning with the freezer door not closing all the way. When the repairman came out, he said the entire door had to be replaced, as it was warped. Since then, one by one other items are breaking in the freezer and refrigerator. The plastic casings holding the glass shelves have broken on all three shelves in the refrigerator, the wall of the refrigerator and the freezer is cracked in several places, the ice bin has a hole in the bottom, where the device rotating the ice out broke and now when used, ice falls into the freezer, and the bins in the refrigerator have broken as well as some of the door shelves in the refrigerator and freezer.I called Whirlpool before posting a review to provide them an opportunity to at least offer to help in some way. Their response was due to so many pieces missing/damaged they would not be able to help in any way at this time. I purchased a Whirlpool product as I expected I was purchasing a quality product with quality workmanship from a reputable company. On December 24, I was planning my annual Christmas Eve dinner when my oven just decided to quit working completely. This was the third time my oven broke down on me. I called Whirlpool and they pretty much told me theyll get to me when they can but it was the holiday. So I understood that it would be a few days. I had a technician come out to my house on December 27 and tell me that he needed to order a fuse. He called all over the state to find one but no one had one so he put it as an emergency. The technician did everything he could to accommodate me but could only do so much. So I waited and waited but heard nothing.Today, January 3, I called the department to see when my part was going to be here and they tell me January 10 - unacceptable. I called the management team and spoke with Tiffany who pretty much just told me, Sorry. You have to wait five business days to find out if the part is available. If not, then we can discuss sending new ovens. Why would we have to wait five business days from January 3 when it was ordered on December 27? Look, Im a very reasonable woman and this is the first time I have ever complained online about a company. But I have gone 10 days without an oven and I have a family that I cook for daily. My ovens are four months old so this should not be happening. And when it does, there should be parts to fix it or a replacement on hand because no family should have to go without an oven when they just paid a ** load of money for it. Customer Service should be a little more sympathetic and a little less about business because at the end of the day, theyre not the ones suffering, we are. Also if this part is on back order, that tells me that this probably happens often. Maybe Whirlpool should recall this oven model because whoever heard of an oven overheating? Get it together. I will spread the word of mouth about my experience!

I purchased the Cabrio washer about 2 years ago. This summer, I began to hear a roar in my washer when it was spinning. I called a repairman and in order to fix it, the tub has to be replaced and it will cost $258 plus service call. My sister purchased her Cabrio 3 years ago and her washer has the same problem. This sounds like a recall issue to me. I think Whirlpool needs to recall this washer or pay my bill.

I have a pretty small refrigerator since I live in a condo. It has lasted me about 4 years and is still running very well. It is very easy to clean. I dont buy a whole lot of food at one time. The size is big enough to hold what I buy every week. The appearance is decent. Only two people use it every day. I havent had any problems with the refrigerator in the four years I have had it. I get frustrated sometimes when opening up the bottom storage container. If I pull it out too far, it falls to the floor. This happens especially when the container is full of fruits and vegetables. I guess bottom storage container was designed that way for easy removal to be cleaned. I really like the adjustable shelves. I can adjust them perfectly to store food containers and jugs of milk and other drinks. I like the door shelves in the freezer compartment. It is great for small packages of vegetables.

I purchased 3 appliances (microwave, stove, and dishwasher) on 10/22/10 when they were on sale at Sears for my soon to be remodeled kitchen. I did not have them delivered until 11/15/10 until contractor was getting ready for them. They still were not installed immediately. On 11/17/11, in the evening, the microwave stopped working. I called Whirlpool on 11/18/11 for service. Whirlpool will not honor the 1-year warranty since technically I bought them in October 2010 but did not even have them installed in my home for use until the end of November or beginning of December 2010. Common sense tells me the company should honor the warranty. Are products being made today to last less than a year before they go bad? To pay for a service call and parts, I can buy a new microwave (but you can bet it wont be Whirlpool).

Purchased 9/23/2013 on 5/20/2014 no hot water. Called Whirlpool, unit has a 6 yr warranty. Brian advised me no one close to our area to service. He told me to contact a local plumber, they would pay for parts and $75.00 in labor. I attempted a couple of calls and could not find a plumber that was willing to come out and let us pay just the difference, after parts and $75.00 in labor and them bill Whirlpool for the remainder. They wanted between $225.00 and $300.00 plus parts. Lowes where we purchased the water heater told me to call Whirlpool back and get an RA# and they would be happy to exchange the water heater. I called Whirlpool and they (Leigh) refused but did say they would pay 200.00 in labor plus the cost of parts. The unit was only $231.23, but they would rather pay upwards of $300.00 than just let us get a new one. I asked Leigh if this made sense to her, she said it did. I guess Im just ignorant because it doesnt make sense to me. Whirlpool COULD NOT even find a plumber that would come out to our small town to do repairs under their OUTSTANDING WARRANTY. I have laughed at these people and cried over this whole situation. I can honestly say I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product and will let everyone I know and even some I dont know (lol) how horrible this experience has been.

Updated on 02/13/2021: Company fails on customer service. My stove’s trim is rubbing off on my Whirlpool stove only 6 months old. No chemicals were ever used to clean the surface. This trim piece surrounds the controls and is not covered under warranty. An expensive cheaply made stove. Multiple attempts to have the piece replaced got nowhere. A letter sent to the head office was deferred back to customer service. Whirlpool has lost credibility and I will no longer buy their products.Original Review: So disappointed to find the paint finish coming off the trim on my 8 month old Whirlpool range. No harsh cleaning chemicals were used. Only mild dish soap and a microfiber towel. The trim, attached to the control panel on the front of the stove, is not actually stainless steel, but painted to look like stainless steel. Whirlpool warranty doesnt cover esthetics and refused to replace the trim, stating replacement would include the entire control panel and it is not covered under warranty. So be prepared to have your new expensive stove look old in a matter of months.

These machines are designed to clean your clothes by rubbing them together
These machines are designed to clean your clothes by rubbing them together which they attempt to do in a minute amount of water. They destroy the fabric, pull the seam out of shape, wrinkle them beyond the point of wearable, do not get them clean and do not get all the detergent out. I have had clothes come out partially dry. They also do not dilute the fabric softener, leaving unremovable stains on your clothes. In addition, they take forever to do a load of clothes even without the extra rinse you need if you want any hope of getting the clothes rinsed. The dryer is the slowest dryer I have ever had. The steam refresh that is supposed to get the hideous wrinkles out of your clothes does not put steam into the dryer. Instead, it sets the dryer to the highest heat so that those clothes you did not want on high heat are now getting it; then it shoots bursts, yes large bursts, of water on them. Your clothes come out a combination of still wrinkles and wet. If you hear of a class action suit, please contact me. These machines should be recalled.

This washer is an extremely poor choice if you wash clothes. It has so little water it does not dissolve HE detergent, Clorox 2, or OXI Clean. After even one wash it does not clean your laundry. If you choose to wash your sheets (even though there is a sheets and deep washer setting) its a joke. I could do better by washing things in the tub. I will never purchase from Whirlpool again. After 3 years of use in a 2 - person (adult) household, my Whirlpool Duet (WFW94HEXW2) washer suddenly stopped working with an F6 E2 error code. I unplugged / plugged in the machine, took off the top & checked connections, and let it sit overnight. I could not get it working. Speaking to a local repair technician via phone, he indicated it is likely the control board. Whirlpool changed that part from part number W10406632 to part number W10427967. Before spending the money on a service call, he suggested I contact Whirlpool to see if it is under recall. I contacted Whirlpools customer service. They told me the washer is not under recall but I may qualify to purchase their Repair + 1 service. When I expressed frustration at spending so much on a product that lasted only 3 years I was told This is not a known quality issue or recall. I will document a complaint for you. The chat session was then terminated by the customer service representative. We will spend over $300 to replace the part that Whirlpool obviously knows is flawed. However, I will not pay for an additional Whirlpool repair service to fix something that should not have broke in the first place. And Whirlpool (including Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn - Air, etc.) will never get our business again.

We purchased our appliances including a refrigerator, stove, microwave and a dishwasher from Home Depot and chose Whirlpool because we believed in their quality. We purchased an ice maker for the refrigerator and it did not get delivered so we had to contact the store to get this resolved. Once this was resolved we installed the ice maker and began to use the products. We noticed a leak from the dish washer and checked the connections only to find out the leak was coming from inside the door. We contacted whirlpool to let them know. We were then contacted by whirlpool that they could not find a service center in our area and we needed to find one and they would reimburse us 150.00 for the service center that we find to come look at it and then we need to let whirlpool know what parts were needed and they would send them to us then we could have the service center come back and install the parts. After receiving this information I contacted whirlpool to let them know that this was unacceptable. First of all this is time and money out of my pocket and no service center is going to make two separate service calls for 150.00 dollars. So whirlpool tells me they have done all they can do in which I informed them that they have not done all they can do and they we just dumping this on me to take care of. So after arguing my point, the whirlpool employee decided to call a service center and make an appointment for Jan 09, 2020 which I agreed with and hopefully the problem will be solved. This should have been done from the very beginning instead of wasting my time only to have the whirlpool employees do their job. A customer should not have to deal with this. In the future I will using a different company for my products, not because of the product but because of the service. I have made a copy of this and will be posting my review.

Bought this from Lowes in 2010 with the 12 yr extended warranty. Have not been able to keep it lit. Takes 4-10 days for repairman just to LOOK AT IT and then he usually has to order a new control valve, taking another 2-4 days (have had the control valve replace 3xs). This means, my husband has to get down at eye level to try to get it to light (hes 63) & if it doesnt light on the 40th try or the cramp in his hand stops him sooner, we have to heat water on the stove, carry it through the house to the bathtub, try to get the temp not too hot or too cool, then hope that our 70 yr old bodies can get down into the tub plus get back out without falling (showers are preferable). My husband bought The best hot water heater $ could buy at our local Lowes store. Because we are getting up there in years, we hoped that this would be the best answer by also getting the extended warranty. They have had numerous repairmen out to our house (6 or 7 last count)... two different men told my husband that they would only be here a couple of minutes knowing it was not going to light for them either. Time wasted. Patience gone. Still they wont replace it because if anyone can get it to light up again, no matter how long that may take, then theres no need to replace it! They have already put more money into parts, labor & repairs than it originally cost. I was told today by the ex. warranty representative that its not considered a lemon! So how do those LOWES/WHIRLPOOL people sleep at night????

Two days after the one year warranty ran out on our front load washer it started making a terrible noise. Of course the Whirlpool warranty was no longer in effect. The good news I was sold an extended warranty from Nebraska Furniture Mart. Called the Service Provider and was told they will only service the washer if it is not working. After several more calls they scheduled a service call in 10 days. We are a family of four, yes no washer is a problem. Finally the technician showed up and said the main bolt holding the drum assembly in place had broken off. He would have to order the bolt. It is now on backorder for 3 weeks. No washing machine for 4 people and now nearly a month is a pain. Not only did my calls to Whirlpool do nothing but the calls to the third party Warranty Company have been very frustrating. My call to the salesperson at NFM was very helpful, but didn’t help get our washer fixed. This is our second and last set of Whirlpool laundry pairs in less than four years.

We purchased the Whirlpool refrigerator (model ED5LVAXVQ00) 4 years ago. The plastic around the top shelf cracked within two years but is not a warranty item. Now, all the plastic surrounding shelves have cracks and the slides for the pull out drawers are also broken. My wife and I are retired and have not overstressed the shelves. The cost for replacing the cracked plastic will be approximately $250 (hardly worth fixing)! We are very disappointed that a once reputable company would build and market such an inferior product. I hope this comment will warn prospective buyers to be careful when considering Whirlpool refrigerators. Very disappointed!

I purchased and had professionals install a Whirlpool 30-gallon water heater in 2007. Since that time I have had issues with the unit not staying lite, but have been able to deal with it myself. Then in November 2011, it wouldnt work. After paying a plumber to come out and check everything, we got on the phone with Whirlpool who goes through their generic checklist, and after all that they agreed the control was no good. They sent a replacement part out at which time I had to pay to have put in. Now, March 2012, the same thing is going on with the unit. Customer service is their same polite self and have to go through their checklist, but unfortunately we were cut off. This was followed by calls and trying to get the same operator, who was supposed to call me back. It didnt happen. I then called and was hung up on. Finally, I had to work with another operator who again wanted to go through her checklist! She finally agreed the same control unit must be bad and is sending me a new one so I can pay to have it installed! They will not admit the unit is bad and replace it completely. I guess when buying Whirlpool you need to understand they dont back their products. It appears to be normal that a control unit from Whirlpool only has a life expectancy of 3 or 4 months. Whirlpool Gold Series French door, bottom freezer. - This fridge is beautiful. Thats as far as the pros go for it. The Freon is leaking and cant be repaired because of where the leak is coming from. I can always tell when its time for a recharge because it leaks water profusely when at a low charge (every 4 to 6 weeks). We paid over $1800 for this fridge back in 2013. It has been just over two years and we are now having to replace this fridge. I cant express my frustration at this point. Whirlpool wont do anything to help us. They told me, You are out of warranty, and thats all they have to say. Thats over a thousand dollars a year to own this POS when you consider taxes. Over $1250 a year when you consider the service calls along with it. I will not purchase another Whirlpool product ever again. I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Set from a local store. Just over a year later, the washer got very loud like a jet engine. Called the registered repairman, he came out took a look and said he would get back to me. Called him 3 times over 3 weeks, no show (Hoodland Appliance). Called someone else, repaired it for $400.00. Called Whirlpool, they are not interested. 2 years later now and the machine is getting loud again. This is due to the spin throws water up and it is able to get out of the tub and down into the barring and the soap residue wears the barring out. Bad design. Whirlpool with four burner and the model that you self-clean the oven. It had all the features I wanted and Whirlpool has been around for a long time. Cost was right for my budget and it had all the options to it. I would have to move it out from the wall to find the model. Love the oven and the fact that I dont have to use caustic cleaners to clean it but simply have to wipe the dust out. One burner does not work and I will have to get it repaired. I shopped at a scratch and dent sale. The price was right and I could barely see the scratch and it had all the usual warranties. I need moderately priced appliances and if there were expensive features on it that I have not previously used, I would probably decline it. I do basic cooking and do not need expensive accessories. I can on my range and I have found the burners do not hold up well for canning. The burner I use for canning is the only one I have had problems with. That is the only problem I have had with the range at all. If anyone plans to can, consider purchasing the coil that is heavier to sustain the weight of the heavy canner. I would not be afraid to purchase Whirlpool again. My range is about 10 years old and other than that burner, I have had no difficulty. It is a mid-price range.
