I bought a French door Whirlpool refrigerator. It is very pretty. But you always got to double-check to make sure the freezer door is closed. Almost all my house guests leave it slightly cracked because it does not close conveniently like other refrigerators. Water freezes up all over the freezer. It even freezes the fan inside to where it starts making loud noises. I got a chip ice out of this freezer almost every day. I even had to defrost it completely to get the fans to start working properly.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in May and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We have had a technician out to our home three times. Whirlpool said that the next time the technician comes out to your house, you will have to pay for it and we have the extended warranty! The problems with the washing machine are many. 1. Leaves white streaks on dark clothes. 2. Not enough water covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. 3. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. 4. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking.5. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. The dryer is equally terrible. As I write this, I have two pairs of jeans going through the dryer for the third time. According to the technician, a heat sensor determines whether the clothes are dry. We have not had one load of laundry, big or small, that has dried in one cycle. But the technician said that this is how this machine works. We have tried all the cycles. According to Customer Service, the technicians found nothing wrong with the machines hence, we will have to pay for the next repair call. If you are looking at this machine and dryer, dont! Do not waste your money or your time. Washing laundry is a nightmare because the machines do not do what they are supposed to do --wash and dry the clothes.

I got a BRAND NEW Whirlpool from Habitat for Humanity. I registered it as a new product and was told it came from Lowes. Habitat only warranted it for 30 days but when it went out in 60 days, I called on the warranty. They sent out a repairman who said it was unfixable and after 2 weeks waiting to hear from them, Whirlpool said they would not honor the warranty because the serviceman said it had been dropped. I am a disabled senior citizen, I guarantee you I couldnt lift it long enough to drop it. Habitat said they didnt drop it and so did Lowes. Meanwhile, Whirlpool had the nerve to send me an extended warranty for the same refrigerator that they wouldnt honor the original warranty and they treated me like I was just trying to cheat them or something. The only thing I can do now is put it out in my driveway with a big sign on it to warn others NOT to buy Whirlpool products. Big deal.

I purchased a washing machine in year 2002. It was working perfectly. Recently, its drive belt started slipping. I called local service center, S. R. Enterprises, with mobile number 9204792391.The technician came after 3 days and declared that the gear box is leaking and will have to be replaced. They had no gearbox in stock for model f45, top loading, fully automatic. After a wait, they took away the machine to their workshop on 30.09.2011 and returned it on 04.10.2011.They charged me Rs. 4,730. I will have to be replaced. I found that its LID, which was perfectly okay, is now making a terrible sound when opened and would fall down, not allowing to load the machine. I informed the service center immediately. After many reminders, a man turned up yesterday and declared that the LID will have to be replaced and I will have to pay Rs. 2,000 for that. I rang up the service center to say, Since it has been damaged in your workshop, you should replace it free of cost to me. Their reply was evasive and negative. I called your call center and they registered my complaint - customer number **, comp. number **. I was assured that the LID will be replaced within 24 hours.

I have Whirlpool gas range, model # WFG361LVS1. The igniter went out after only one and a half years of light use (4-5 times a week). I did not buy the extended warranty, so part is not covered. I only asked that they send me the part for free. I talked to a supervisor at Whirlpool (Dave). He said I should have bought the extended warranty. He said he could not help me. He was also very rude. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product.

We purchased this dishwasher (Gold Dishwasher WDF60SADB) because of its low 49-decibel rating. It goes over 60 decibels regularly and occasionally up to 70 during operation (not including drain noises which cannot be controlled by the dishwasher). We used a tablet app to confirm. Decibels are not linear, they are exponential. 70 decibels is what your average shower or dishwasher sounds like. 50 is about as quiet as a refrigerator. You have to talk over this dishwasher. And yes there was a big price difference between it and Whirlpools next loudest rated washer.Whirlpools customer service says they will not replace or repair based on sound ever, only for functional failure. Bottom line, dont pay any attention to Whirlpool sound ratings. They dont stand by them and do not consider gross overages a defect. Fortunately the retailer (Lowes) does stand by what they sell and will trade for any other machine by any other manufacturer. We have only good things to say about Lowes in this process. This machine arrived Wednesday, and we pick a replacement Sunday. It will not be a Whirlpool. I will never buy a Whirlpool anything again. We said it will do X but we dont care if a brand new one wont is no way to do business.

So I bought this $700.00 dishwasher. It has been several years since my dishwasher wasnt fixed, even though I called Whirlpool customer service several times.AGAIN, WHIRLPOOL HAS VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, INCLUDING DISRESPECTFUL, ARROGANT EMPLOYEES. The service was really slow. What, the materials took 4 months to get delivered? So today they leave a voicemail and they said that technicians were at my house at 12 noon WITHOUT even notifying me when they will get to my house. They basically just came to my house without asking me an question about the schedule and appointment. This wasnt first time. So I called, and the person was like Um, the technicians were at your house. Excuse me? She sighed and said tsk, tsk, tsk. This woman was SO DISRESPECTFUL. She tried to end up conversation by saying, ugh, the technicians will call you tomorrow morning and they will let you know okay?? Bye. and hung up the phone. I didnt have any chance to say something. Again, this is my bad experience. Never going to buy products in this company. Extremely poor customer service, with disrespectful employees. If you dont want to get bad experience, dont buy any products in this company.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine on 3-18-16. In February of 2017 the washer died. I was bleaching my whites at the time so most of the clothes, whites fell apart because they sat in bleach and water for 2 days. I had to figure out how to get them out without getting bleach and water all over my clothes. I called whirlpool and they got someone to come fix it. The tech came and said we needed a new control panel. We waited 3 weeks for the panel. He came on 3-24-17. He put the part in. Took less than 10 min and said, All set. I went downstairs and put a few things in. I was a bit leery and the machine started. I went back upstairs and I hear beeping. I go back down and the machine is flashing again. I called the repair people they said, Unplug it for 10 min. It may reset itself. If it doesnt, call back. It didnt. I called back and wanted me to wait till the following week. I told her I had clothes in there.Someone came the next morning and said it needed a harness and they would order it. Well its the 28th and I havent heard anything. I have called whirlpool several times with no satisfaction. We had the machine less than a year and its been dead for 2 months. I am disabled. I have multiple sclerosis so every day is a new issue. I hate to put that in here but I want you to know what Im dealing with along with a dead washer. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Four years ago, my wife and I also purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer set, washer model no. WTW6600SB2. Within the first year we had to replace both pumps twice, user interface, and control board. (I think that’s what it was called). Of course, that was all covered under warranty. But I to had to wait a week for the part and then another week for the repairman to make it. The user interface and control board had to be replaced because moisture got into the control panel and caused corrosion on the circuit boards which caused them to short out. Then it wasn’t long after warranty ran out, the whole wash tub and drum just dropped to the floor with a full load in it. I don’t remember exactly what was the cause of it, but I do remember it cost me $580 to fix it. Then it wasnt more than two weeks later, the repairman had to come again and replace the control board again. There went another $600 for the parts, labor and service call because this time they had to come from 40 miles away and it’s a minimum fee of $89 just for them to drive up here and another $60 for diagnostics, and then the part and their time to install new board. I paid for this machine twice in the first year and a half. Then after all of that, it was finally working like it should and worked great for about 6 months, then came the UL,LD, and Lid Lock codes over and over unplug, plug in, unplug, plug in. That lasted for about a month, and then all of a sudden, it straightened out. And we only got the occasional UL code. Now in the last year, I have had to replace the drain pump twice and then the drum and motor dropped on the shaft allowing any loose change or other items if accidentally missed during pocket searches to fall into the outer wash tub and get sucked into the drain pump and causing a quarter to be shoot through the drain pump making a hole and caused my laundry room to flood. Well, I decided I wasn’t going to buy another part so I used a plastic repair kit to fix the hole and got it up and running. A week later, the washer won’t wash. It will fill and that’s it. So upon my own diagnostic, I came to the conclusion that it was the user interface that went out due to corrosion I found on it. So for another $120 I can fix it, but I’m not sticking another dime into the washer, nor will I ever buy another Whirlpool appliance. Once all of my Whirlpool appliances die, I will replace them one at a time with LG. I to contacted Whirlpool about my problems and all they did for me was send me an extended warranty offer for 50% off, really that’s it, that’s all I get is a big GFY after all the money I have stuck into this piece of scrap-metal. Well, never again will you have my business as long as I live. Whirlpool, you need to take your hoo-ya and do something about all of these complaints.

I purchased my refrigerator (Whirlpool side by side refrigerator model ED5FVGXW507) in January 2013. We travel more than 6 months out of the year, so we have not had excess usage from the refrigerator. After only a few months, the plastic drawers started to crack. Now, after less than a year and a half, all my drawers are cracked, as well as all my door bins. I will be married 50 years in December, have owned refrigerators for all those years, and this is the first time that I have ever had a drawer crack, let alone all of them, as well as the door bins.

Didnt bother to repair it, just open the freezer. Next, the door would not seal right and frost builds up in my frost free. Also, the ice delivery wont close tight. I have a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater, product #0733136, that was installed in 2010. The pilot has repeatedly gone out and had to be re-lit. After reading some of the comments, I am amazed that other people were told to verify gas supply with the gas company (done) and clean the air intake (done) and then to call customer service and be told to do the intake cleaning again (done professionally six days ago). I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance, and fortunately, I am in property management and can advise others to avoid this company as well. We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (Model WRB322DMBM00) in April of 2015 from Lowes. Within 5 months rust stains started to form at the bottom of the top door and the top of bottom drawer. RUST STAINS!!! We do not live in a humid area or near the ocean. It is a design flaw I believe in the gaskets. I called Lowes first for their guarantee but they said it was cosmetic and not covered. Then I call WP customer service and they are sending new doors. Thats fine but its going to happen again. I requested slate instead of stainless steel but they wouldnt do it. I had my old agitating washer for 8 yrs that went out. I liked Whirlpool so decide to try their washer. Found the Cabrio washer (SWS5000WO) and thought without the agitator it would give me more room for clothes to wash better. Boy was I wrong, no matter what cycle or what size load it is off balance on the very first spin. I have to stay near by to stop the washer before the first spin adjust the load and start over again. Jeans and towels are impossible to clean. It throws the tub so bad it has pushed the side out. I have checked the balancing rods and they are fine. After reading other complaints realize the Cabrio washers are terrible. I will be looking for a refurbished washer with an agitator and doubt I will buy Whirlpool again. They should have a recall on these machines. They are terrible.

I purchased a Whirlpool Microwave on 9/21/10 from Hamilton-Bryan in Wichita Falls, Texas. I had a small fire in my microwave on 9/19/11, due to a faulty mica board. This was replaced by Mr. Bobs in Wichita Falls, TX, under the warranty. Then on 1/9/12, the microwave would not warm anything. I called Mr. Bobs again, and they said the transformer was out. I called Whirlpool, and was told by Yvonne that Whirlpool would replace the part only, with no labor, but Mr. Bobs was closed, and to call back in the morning, so this authorization could be set up with Mr. Bobs. I called back and there was no record of my call with Yvonne. I talked to a supervisor Rachel in Tennessee. She put me on hold for a while and finally said she found Yvonnes note to authorize the part. I explained to each person I talked to that I was dissatisfied with Whirlpool. I believe I have a defective microwave. I would like my money back, or a new microwave. I believe the defective mica board is related to the defective transformer. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I have used Whirlpool most of my adult life. I have used them since the 1970s. I currently have a Whirlpool refrigerator, washer, and dryer. A similar situation like this occurred when I bought a Samsung washer. I was dissatisfied, and Samsung refunded my money, and I bought a Whirlpool washer to replace Samsung. I will not be satisfied with this situation, until the microwave is replaced. Thank you for your concern and attention to this matter.

We have had the service contractor that WHIRLPOOL has qualified for all repairs. They have set up FIVE appointments to resolve the issue, all of which I had to leave work to meet because they do not provide any scheduled service outside the hours of 8am to 4pm. The first time they came the service man told me that WHIRLPOOL RECOGNIZES THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW BECAUSE THESE ARE NOTORIOUS FOR FREEZING UP AND NOT WORKING. I asked the repair man if there has been a recall because of this, he said no because WHIRLPOOL WILL JUST REPAIR THE ONES PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT! I called Whirlpool headquarters today. The advisor said he will register my complaint. I asked, Is that it? What does that mean? He said, I cant tell you what happens after I register the complaint. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. I hope this may help someone NOT make the same mistake. On April 17th mid morning I noticed that the freezer side was not keeping items Frozen. Everything was melting period. I then opened up the refrigerator side all the items are not as cool as they should be. I then proceeded to do a Google search to see what I should check for in regards to the freezer and the refrigerator side not keeping cool. I then proceeded to pull the refrigerator out to inspect the back of the refrigerator. When I did that I noticed there was a hot mark on my wall, as well as a huge it burn mark on my floor. I then unplug to the refrigerator do the huge fire hazard and I touched my floor and it was very hot to the touch.I called my stepfather who is a firefighter and had him come over right away. He said we needed to take the refrigerator outside right away because the compressor had overheated and that is why it started to burn my floor. He then went to the fire station and got a heat sensor check machine, and we checked my wall and floor and we had to make sure that it was cooling down so it did not start my floor boards on fire so then we had to put a fan on it to cool it down. I then went and purchased a new refrigerator, due to this one was no longer able to be used or repaired. The refrigerator was only four years and 5 months old. For a $1,300 refrigerator it should last longer than 4 years.I called Whirlpool the following day or two days later and regards to this issue. The only thing they could tell me is that they were sorry, this refrigerator almost started my home on fire and we have six children a family of 8. It ruined my floor and part of my wall in my kitchen and we have lost a few hundred dollars and groceries. This is ridiculous and not the first time, I read a few others having this issue, Whirlpool said they have never received any complaints in regards to the refrigerator burning the floor and does not see it as a fire hazard at all.

My Cabrio washing machine is a hunk of scrap metal after five years of lite use. Replaced the electronics first, then a year or so later replaced the motor. Now its leaking from the bottom. Repair man said it is not fixable. I did not buy a warranty because it was too expensive compared to the value of the washing machine. My recommendation to anyone buying a Whirlpool appliance is to buy the cheapest thing on the market, so that you can throw it away when it breaks because they are made to break so that they can sell you extended warranties.

Our whirlpool gas range has a defect - the material around the control pane
Our whirlpool gas range has a defect - the material around the control panel is peeling and flaking; it is not possible to clean it and it is likely going to get into our food. It has not been cleaned with anything harsh - I use warm soapy water or stainless steel cleaner. I use the same thing on my other appliances and they look fine. I am waiting for a tech to come and look at it but after reading other complaints I fear that they are going to say it is cosmetic and it is not covered. Sadly, we can no longer wipe the control panel if it is dirty because the stainless steel is flaking off and it gets all over the burners and I am concerned it will get into our food. I am willing to bet the paint that is flaking off is not approved for consumption.I wish I had our old Frigidaire Gallery Series range back. I regret replacing it. Whirlpool was not helpful. They told me to contact the place I purchased it. The place I purchased it said it is a manufacturers defect. Someone suggested painting it with stainless steel colored spray paint which sounds like it is going to look awful. The new panel is $148 but it will need to be installed and if there is a defect how often will I have to replace it? I am very disappointed.

I purchased this machine about a year ago and it is the biggest piece of garbage on the planet. The biggest problem is that it will not spin if the load is even slightly unbalanced. It does not clean the clothes. If you try to rebalance and spin the load, it adds more water and then gets stuck in a cycle where it drains and adds water forever. Do not buy one of these. I am finally surrendering and buying a different machine. A total waste of money.

I will make this short. If there was a part that could break on my Whirlpool fridge, it broke. Whirlpools 3rd party repair company (Flamingo Appliance Services, who are awful themselves) was at my home countless times. This last time, they were replacing the same malfunctioning part for the THIRD TIME. The Flamingo technician (Nicholas) insured me that the issues were not related, despite the same exact part being replaced 3 times. I told him that I believed that was a dishonest statement, and he left the fridge un-repaired. Now Whirlpool nor Flamingo will help, and I am stuck with a non-functional fridge, and small children at home. Whirlpool and Flamingo represent everything I despise, have zero integrity, and are a reading on the barometer of where our country is headed.

Its a front loader and has lots of cycles and temperature to choose from. Its setting on a pedestal so its not too low. I dont like the way the soap is dispensed.. Whirlpool appliance suite purchased May 2013. Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator with bottom freezer, Model #GX5FHTXV. At the end of my kitchen remodel, I was excited to have my new Whirlpool appliances delivered by an authorized Whirlpool installer. When the refrigerator install was complete, I alerted the delivery people the French doors were not aligned properly. There was at least 1/4 difference at the top of the doors. They did their best to fix the problem to no avail.I called the Specialty Appliance store to complain and they had a repair man come a few short days later to examine the issue. He inspected the problem and had to order new door parts. A few long weeks later, the repair man came to install the new parts. Well, to my disgust, the new parts did not fix the problem. This next sentence only refers to the place I bought the darn thing. I then called Specialty Appliance to inquire about returning the appliance and of course they wouldnt take the appliance. Im stuck with it. The workman ship is cheap. The internal drawers are poor at best. I spent a good deal of money on what I thought would be a good product. My previous appliance suite was Whirlpool and I NEVER had issues the 13 years I had them.Whirlpool Gold freestanding double oven gas range, Model #GGG388LX. Problem: oven catches fire while self-cleaning oven. Big problem. Takes forever to get rid of the smell that leaves behind. The range itself has worked well. No issues with cooktop and its easy to clean. The grates dont stay black and look rusted in a couple of places. Oven cooks well as I know how to make adjustments as to not overcook meals.Following cleaning instructions provided by Whirlpool, I wipe out the oven (when cool) after spills if there are any. I thought I would run the self clean since Ive had the appliance over a year to properly maintain it. BAD IDEA. After running the self clean cycle for about 35 min, I noticed fire. Wanting to protect my $60K remodel investment, I quickly cancelled the clean cycle and watched smoke pour out of the top. Not a fun experience. It took about 15 minutes for the fire inside the bottom compartment to finally go out. Wont be self cleaning my self-clean oven again! By the way, I didnt clean the oven with chemicals because the owners manual states not to and I HATE using those chemical anyway. Again, stuck with an appliance I am not satisfied with. Lesson learned? Yes, I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again. Kinda wish I still had my old white ones...

We bought this combo at Lowes and was looking forward to their arrival. Unfortunately, we have had so many problems with both appliances. The washer is constantly having an error and we can only wash clothes on the quick wash cycle or else it will shake like crazy, get an error, and stop. We had the washer a little over a year when we had someone come look at it. We were told there is something wrong with the load sensor and it was going to be $350 to fix it. As for the dryer it will dry for a little bit and completely stop (no error) and restart later on by itself. I have been a devoted Whirlpool customer but not after this. I thought it was only us having these problems but obviously not. They have discontinued this set. No recall... ridiculous.

We have owned refrigerators for over 40 years. Never had one as bad as this. Three ice maker replacements lasting maybe from 6 months to 2 years. Cap that off with customer service people who by voice and tone could not give a rats ** about helping the customer. Today it took me from 3:10 pm to 5:30 pm to get a real person on the phone. When I did the attitude is so reminiscent of a fast food hamburger joint with arches. Yes they know the refrig and ice maker are and have been a problem but they don’t care cause we have no option. Whirlpool will NEVER SEE ANOTHER penny of my money. Time to look at real appliance makers. Horrible.

We purchased our appliances including a refrigerator, stove, microwave and a dishwasher from Home Depot and chose Whirlpool because we believed in their quality. We purchased an ice maker for the refrigerator and it did not get delivered so we had to contact the store to get this resolved. Once this was resolved we installed the ice maker and began to use the products. We noticed a leak from the dish washer and checked the connections only to find out the leak was coming from inside the door. We contacted whirlpool to let them know. We were then contacted by whirlpool that they could not find a service center in our area and we needed to find one and they would reimburse us 150.00 for the service center that we find to come look at it and then we need to let whirlpool know what parts were needed and they would send them to us then we could have the service center come back and install the parts. After receiving this information I contacted whirlpool to let them know that this was unacceptable. First of all this is time and money out of my pocket and no service center is going to make two separate service calls for 150.00 dollars. So whirlpool tells me they have done all they can do in which I informed them that they have not done all they can do and they we just dumping this on me to take care of. So after arguing my point, the whirlpool employee decided to call a service center and make an appointment for Jan 09, 2020 which I agreed with and hopefully the problem will be solved. This should have been done from the very beginning instead of wasting my time only to have the whirlpool employees do their job. A customer should not have to deal with this. In the future I will using a different company for my products, not because of the product but because of the service. I have made a copy of this and will be posting my review.

On July 30, 2009, we purchased a Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator with the freezer drawer on the bottom. It was delivered on August 1, 2009. On August 3, 2009, the ice maker and water dispenser stopped working. After three unsuccessful service calls and the installation of various replacement parts, Whirlpool gave up the effort to fix the ice maker and water dispenser and delivered a new replacement refrigerator on October 15, 2009. Todays date is April 14, 2012 and here we go again, the ice maker and water dispenser stopped working. Luckily, I purchased a five year warranty on the unit. However, after reading all of the posts about fire hazard issues and other various issues with Whirlpool refrigerators, well probably go out and buy a new refrigerator and write-off the $2,500 that we spent for this refrigerator as a bad investment. We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator based upon their reputation of providing sound products. However, based upon this experience, I can guarantee the folks at Whirlpool that our next refrigerator purchase will not be a Whirlpool product or a product of any subsidiary of Whirlpool.

WOW!!! After reading all of these reviews Im wondering why I didnt see these sooner before I bought my POS Whirlpool fridge! Had our fridge a little less than 2 years and the freezer just does not keep anything cold anymore. Stopped making ice and everything in the freezer started to defrost. We noticed this one day when our ice cream was runny... Yuck! So we looked around online for troubleshooting. We took out the drawers and the back panel... There was a huge chunk of ice right before the coils. The coils themselves were not frosty and we thought that might be a problem, but we didnt know. So we thought this might be the problem. So we took a hairdryer and melted the big chunk of ice. After we did that we then noticed the coils started getting frosty again but not consistently or evenly across all of the coils. I dont know if this is good or not??? So now Im going to purchase a thermometer and see if the actual inside of the freezer is getting up to the correct temp. After reading all of these reviews on here Im thinking Im screwed!!! We also called Whirlpool and they basically said... oh well not our problem. WHAT A ** COMPANY! I will never buy another Whirlpool product again... Even if they offered me a free one I dont think I would take it.

They each had a different theory on why it wasnt working properly. Im now waiting for parts to be delivered and then service to be scheduled. When I contacted customer service, I was told (after waiting on hold for about 1 hour) that it was customer misuse. Ahem, first I heard that, and I think I know how to use a washing machine. I asked to speak with a supervisor. More waiting. Tina (#**) told me she will contact the service company about the parts. I told her to please conference me in on the call because I want to hear the outcome (and I dont want to wait another 1+ hour to reach customer service again). She put me on hold and then disconnected me! Really, all this time and 3 service people... Would be cheaper to just replace the machine altogether. What a headache!

Purchased this dishwasher in January 2012, and it stopped working in May 2015. We replaced thermal fuse a year ago and just had to replace the control panel. It worked for 1 day and through 2 wash cycles, but during the 3rd wash cycle, it failed to drain and no power again, which is the same problem we had before. We opted to also replace the control board, just to be safe. Lol. What a piece of junk! Whirlpool is a pathetic excuse for a company, and, judging from others experiences with the customer service department, we will not bother contacting these ** since they clearly have no interest in providing any service at all to their customers. I have had many other lower end dishwasher models, and all of them worked well past the 5 - 10 year mark and never stopped working or required any service. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER APPLIANCE FROM WHIRLPOOL AND HAVE SPREAD THE WORD TO EVERYONE I KNOW. Good luck, Whirlpool. I do not expect they will be around in 10 years. Lol. I owned a Maytag washer for 30 wonderful years, so I of course bought a new one. I have battled with my Maytag (Whirlpool) front loading stackable top of the line washing machine for 2 1/2 years. It will not drain, yet sometimes it will. I have played every game with this machine to figure why. I had a repair company out 5 times while it was under warranty and they could never find the problem. It is totally unpredictable. If I could bill Whirlpool for my time and anguish I would own this company! They now say it is the computer board and I will have to pay $350 for a new service contract to fix the machine. I not very politely said that they should pay me for all my emotional abuse. They offered me another option saying they would pay for a service company to come out and look again. However, I would have to pay the labor and material cost. Since I have a stackable unit and it would take 2 technicians I would have to pay $90 for the second person. I was so mad that I called Whirlpool back and they refused to offer me that $350 charge and just said sorry. I are fortunate to have a lake house which needs a new washer. Guess what? It will NOT be a Whirlpool product. I wish I could go to the store where I purchased this holy terror and picket!

I love my washer and dryer but am a little disappointed in a few areas. First, my washer stopped spinning normally after a few years, I forget exactly why. Then my clothes were too wet when it was done. My dryer then did not get my clothes dry in one cycle. Also, it was going to cost $500 to fix my washer which wasnt worth it. But Whirlpool did send us a new tub and all the parts for free. Thankfully my husband is handy and after finding a YouTube video, replaced it all and now it works again. My dryer still doesnt always dry everything all the way. I often have to do 2-3 cycles in the dryer to get my clothes dry. I thought there was supposed to be a sensor that would keep the dryer going until there was no more moisture. Maybe that is broken too.

We purchased the Top Loader Cabrio in 2006 for $1100. About 1 yr. later it just stopped, but was covered under a recall. A year later it stopped working again and cost $400 plus we bought a 3 yr. service contract for $350. A few months after the service contract ended, the spin cycle got very loud and it started leaking grease and water. It now need a ball bearing and $600 of work. So now we spent almost $2000 for this washer in 8 yrs. Our Maytag was $400 and lasted 15 yrs and we gave it to someone else who is still using it and we never had it repaired. It sounds like Cabrio customers have been complaining about the same issues for several years but they keep recurring and Whirlpool is doing nothing to correct them. We are not putting more money into it after reading all the complaints. We are buying another washer and another reliable brand. I would have been a customer for life because I did like the way it worked and cleaned, although I hear so many people had problems with that so I am not waiting for that to fail too. And I recommended the Cabrio to several people who bought them and now I hear they are starting to have problems. You should stand behind your product and correct these problems and recall or fix them at a reasonable cost.

I have had this product now for 1.5 years and am very dissatisfied with it. Whirlpool calls their oven an Aqua Lift Self Clean, which is terribly misleading. There is nothing self-cleaning about it, except that the person who needs to clean it is me (myself)! I cannot use oven cleaners on it, because that will void my warranty, so the only way to clean it is to scrub, scrub, scrub, down on my hands and knees, which I havent had to do for many a year. My second issue is with the glass stovetop. I have had many glass tops before and have never, never had such trouble cleaning it. Every time I use the stovetop I need to scrub and polish vehemently to clean it. And thirdly, the dials fail very quickly, and to replace them costs me $50.00 a pop! In just 1.5 years two dials have failed. This is just unacceptable, and I say shame on Whirlpool, and shame on the company that sold it to me. I will never, ever purchase another Whirlpool appliance again.

It runs normally but when you open it the dishes are just as dirty as when you put them in if not worse since it will spray any residue from the bottom to the top shelf. I have taken it out and inspected all lines and such but can find nothing wrong to the naked eye. Thus I’ve got dirty dishes that must soak since the drying cycle retakes grime back on and then be rewashed.

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer from Home Depot. It started making noises on the spin cycle 2 months after the purchase. A technician came out and concluded it was a clothes hanger behind the machine making the noise. False. Two days later I tried to wash a load. All the panel lights came on. And then the machine died. No power. The tech came out and tried to run tests but the machine would not respond correctly. Informed it has a bad control. The machine will malfunction even if a button is pressed too long. And then its repairman time again. This machine is poorly designed. No doubt whoever designed the digital control panel did not think about ease of use. The tech has to recalibrate the controls after every failure. Whirlpool and Maytag have put out a bad product and this will be my last.

Purchased a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator model #ED5KVEXVB07 in July
Purchased a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator model #ED5KVEXVB07 in July 2012 from Sears for about $1000. Unit quit cooling late Dec 2014. I did not purchase the extended warranty, so the Whirlpool 1 year warranty was all I had. The repair technician (local company, not from Whirlpool directly) told me that the compressor had seized up, and the repair would be at least $300. I thought Id call Whirlpool just to see if theyd be willing to do anything for me. Long story short: No. I told the person on the phone: “I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance.” She said: “Im very sorry about that.” After I hung up, I thought: If Whirlpool was really sorry, theyd stand behind their products for a part that should not fail after only 2.5 years.

I have hated this Cabrio washer and dryer set since the day they were delivered brand new by Best Buy a couple of years ago. The washer does not clean well, often does not spin dry, and leaves some clothes dry after a full wash cycle!!! I have to wash small loads on the deep water cycle to even have a chance at cleaning the clothes. The clothes are so dreadfully compacted and tangled that it takes great effort to birth them out of the washer, unfurl them, shake them, and put them into the next torture machine- the dryer. It is as if Whirlpool intended to build a machine to twist clothing so tight that it requires a bodybuilder to untangle the clothing. Then the items are so incredibly crumpled that ironing has found its way back into my already busy life. Ironing is a massive challenge to the degree of wrinkles in the clothing. The slanted tops are icing on the cake. Cant even pull the clothes out of the dryer to the top of it because they slide right off. Cool.

After almost 5 years of satisfactory performance, our $1200 Whirlpool Duet
After almost 5 years of satisfactory performance, our $1200 Whirlpool Duet washing machine WFW9400SU1 requires repairs costing over $1100. Similar to another complaint listed, some parts rusted out, leading to extensive damage during use, which we realized only after the spin cycle became incredibly loud. Now the entire gut of the machine (bearing, drum, arm, casing, etc.) needs to be replaced - $900 parts and $200 labor. I trust my repairman (who said theyd seen this type of problem before with Whirlpool) especially because he recommended buying a new machine instead. I called Whirlpool, and they said they could do nothing for me which made me very angry. This is a mechanical problem that could have been avoided by using proper materials. Whatever happened to the washing machines that would last 15-20 years?

Weve owned a Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher for about seven years. There has not been a year that has passed that we have not had to place a service call with a local service provider. (Each service call costs $85.85.) The upper tray has come off the tracks more than 10 times. The drainage mechanism broke the first time we used the dishwasher. The fuse box (which is amazingly a self-contained, enclosed, black box) has blown twice, has to be completely replaced, and costs over $180. The second time it broke, I ordered, paid for, and had delivered the replacement part only to find out that the broken part suddenly started working again. (I guess Ill have the $180 part for the next time it breaks.) To suggest that this product is junk is an understatement. It will be replaced very shortly.

Bought Whirlpool refrigerator in October 2014, model WDT710PAYH6. Ice maker never worked right and then started leaking water. A month later it is still not fixed even though it is supposed to be under warranty. I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and stove at that same time -- both of those needed to be replaced right out of the box! Called Whirlpool and they wont replace. Only referred me to a different repair company. Meanwhile it is leaking all over the floor. Now I see all these complaints for the same issue, yet the Whirlpool rep says they know nothing of this problem! I have a brand new Whirlpool matching microwave that sits uninstalled. I am wondering if I should even bother. I bought expensive new appliances to avoid the hassle of older items possibly breaking down -- and I have never been more frustrated in my life.

You are not supposed to use oven cleaner on the glass, it now has obscured the view into the oven. The top of the stove is very difficult or impossible to clean. The knobs are a dangerous issue. They will fall off at the slightest touch and the stainless markers around the knob are just a stick on label. The oven temperature is not accurate. I purchase a WP Fridge only unit model WRF578 18D MOO in July 2016. I woke up 3 months later and my fridge was filled with rotten food, the internal temp was 16 C 60.8 F. I phoned Sears and they had me phone WP. They tried to repairman but he phoned and told me that he could not service my fridge as he was a 3 1/2 hr and one Ferry ride away from me - He was in Whistler and I live on the Sunshine Coast. I phoned WP again and they sent someone who actually lives here. He found and repaired a small freon leak. Four months later it happened again, the fridge was also making loud noises when the compressor started and stopped. I phoned WP again. They sent the same repairman, he ordered and installed a new compressor and topped up the freon. Sadly less than 3 months later it happened again. This time I was very firm with WP that I was unhappy, they extended my warranty for a further 6 months. The same repairman again came and topped up the freon. That brings us to this week. On Wednesday June 14 I woke up again for the fourth time to a fridge full of rotting food. The fridge was actually warmer than my Greenhouse that day! I phoned WP. They were unwilling to help so I asked for a supervisor. She offered to pay 1/2 of the service call as my warranty had expired Jan 26/17. I said that was unacceptable and asked to speak to her Supervisor. She stated that she was as high as I could speak to, so I asked for an e-mail address for her supervisor. She instead tried to tell that I had no warranty and that they had already fixed my fridge 3 times and given me an extra 6 months on my warranty and offered for me to BUY an extended warranty! I replied that if my fridge were fixed I would not need a service call and that in fact my fridge had never really been fixed. She transferred me to another person. He offered to pay for the service call. I accepted. He asked if I were happy, I said that I would wait and see after the service call on Monday. I Asked if it were the same Man, he said that violated his Privacy. I said I will see him Monday! Will he be wearing a disguise?! Kohuch (the Service guy is coming over this afternoon -Friday) my Husband left work early to be here.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washing machine: You wont believe this until you call a parts replacement place for tiny part. The plastic (or vinyl) lid hinge bearings are located at hinge corners of lid. Hinge pin passes through them, one on each side. Half the size of a penny, UNCONSCIONABLE greed at the price of $32-$33 dollars EACH when ordered from a parts place. IMHO, design by INTENTIONAL failure to fail after three or four years. As a result, the lid will not stay up on its own. Then you find out the horrible news which is an insult to intelligence. Id have expected to pay maybe two or three dollars each, but NEVER the price they are demanding. Theyve got you and there is NOTHING you can do about it. At that rate, parts would run tens of thousands of dollars to replace the entire machine, part by part. These greedy clowns make car dealers look like reasonable people! Nice looking, prices very fair for quality product. Options are always good. My mom used Whirlpool. That thing that goes in the middle of the old time washer is now gone. That thing would rip or stretch out clothing bras. Anything that was nice it would make it look horrible. Ive had my washer and dryer for 6 years and they still work like new. When shopping for a washer and dryer I do look for capacity, energy efficient and the brand. I prefer to stick to the old school brands just like my mother did. I must admit that I do love the fact that it is an HD high efficiency washer. The deal-breaker would be a low quality construction made a washer or dryer nobody needs to have problems with it. If youre spending that type of money you need to get good quality items.I love my washer and dryer. Theyre both and white color. Its a Whirlpool Cabrio with HD High efficient load energy saver and H2 wash system. The washer has a lid with a see-through glass which I love. My dryer is also a Whirlpool Cabrio steam with a resource saver that gives me a lot of different options as far as my clothing is concerned on how I need it dry.

Bought this model from Bad Boy in 2006 and just after the warranty ended the problems began. We kept getting the F1 error code so with a little internet research we found it was a known problem with Whirlpool. I contacted them and was told they knew nothing about this issue being nationwide, however I emailed them copies of the complaints and responses. They sent out a technician who had to replace the motherboard free of charge. Next issue was a loud noise coming from washer sounding like a jet plane taking off. Hubby ripped machine apart to find the bearings blown apart and in tiny pieces. We ordered new ones and also found that when the new ones arrived they came with a tube of grease and a sealer to use so water would not get in later and cause more problems. Funny there was no sealer on the original bearings.Next the lid lock finally failed, ordered a new one but did NOT install it back into the machine, now it sits beside the machine. In case it fails again we will have total access to the laundry this time. Finally the UL error code keeps coming up. I refuse to put any more money into this machine again so I am allowing hubby to fix it if he chooses, whichever way he wants as long as no money is involved. So right now we have bungee cords holding the suspension rods tight to help with the uneven load code coming up all the time. Personal thoughts - DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL washer/dryers. They are crap and the company just does not care and they try to lie their way out of repairs if people have not done their homework.

We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW5600 series in October of 2010. I bought the machine from Sears and also bought the extended warranty. Less than 6 months after I had been using it, I noticed that all my husband’s shirts were getting sweat stains under the arms and my hand towels were very smelly after drying with them one time. I called Sears to have someone come out and tell us what the problem was. He said I was using too much detergent so I reduced the amount of what I was using. It did not help the problem so I started using the extra rinse each time I washed, still did not fix the problem. I called them out 3 more times in 2011. One tech told me I was still using too much detergent so I reduced down to 1 tablespoon like he suggested. I stopped using softener in my washer because he said I needed to clean my machine more than one time a month, to clean it every 3 weeks. No solution to the problem still. I have had a tech from Sears and one from Whirlpool (who incidentally was the same man, he was from A&E Appliances). When he came in the door, my husband told him he had been here before and I said 2 times. He lied and said he had not been out before. Are we blind? No. He ran the cycle but sat in his truck while he was running it. None of the techs have ever put a tool on the machine to check if the water level is right. They just stand there and tell us to change the amount of detergent or clean the machine with Clorox more often. I cleaned it 8 days in a row and the clothes still smell and still do not get cleaned. We talked to main man at Whirlpool and said they couldnt do anything because their 1 year warranty had run out. We have been using Whirlpool appliances for over 30 years but I will not ever buy another one. I have probably had 5 Whirlpool washers over the years but never had a problem until we got this Cabrio top loader without an agitator. I would not recommend this washer to my worst enemy, if I had one.

I am a single parent. So I was very excited when I had saved enough to purchase a new washer and dryer. I purchased Whirlpool because I had been told that was a good brand. From the beginning, I was having issues with the washer (Whirlpool Front Loader model #WFW8300SW04). It wouldnt start or it would not spin, or it would just lock and not be able to get it open. I had purchased a warranty. So I called to have it serviced. The tech came and told me that I needed to have my floor leveled under the washer. I hired someone to concrete under my washer and dryer. Again the washer still did the same thing. I used the warranty again. The second tech told me that I needed to have my electrical outlet changed. I again hired someone to change the outlet. Yet still the machine didnt work. I then hired a tech to come out and was told the mother board needed to be replaced. Had that done. The machine worked for a short time with no issues. But yet again it wont start, or wont spin, or it locks and you cant get it opened. I contacted Whirlpool and their answer to the problem was they would be glad to set up an appointment to send out one of their techs (at my expense). I have hired another tech and being told that the mother board once again needs to be replaced. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool and their service. I dont understand why they won’t stand behind their products. I will (when able) purchase another washer, but it most definitely will NOT be Whirlpool. Anyone else having issues with the same model? Would like to hear.

I purchased Whirlpool french door refrigerator wrf535smbm00 at the beginning of this year and it has really made my house an unpleasant place to be. My main complaint is that it is very, very loud, and seems to vibrate through the whole house. It runs most of the time at a level of 60 dB, which might be considered a low noise level for a mechanical appliance that runs occasionally like a dishwasher, but is quite loud for an appliance that, according to their own specs, runs at least 40% of the time. Nobody wants to notice their refrigerator. They just want it to work.Which brings me to my second complaint, the temperature control is all over the place, generally ranging from 25-50 F. I find it difficult to believe that the government, which always seems overly concerned about the temperature of restaurant food, or the pasteurization of cheeses doesnt care that an appliance nearly every American household has doesnt necessarily do its job, and isnt required to display internal temperature. The old-fashioned set this dial to an arbitrary number and hope its cool enough is not charming. Finally, though the finish is listed as stainless steel, mine started sporting tiny rust spots after only three months. Whirlpool states that Cosmetic issues are covered by the manufacturers warranty for the first 30 days of ownership only. After the first 30 days any repairs for cosmetic issues are the consumers responsibility. It seems as though they know theyve used a low grade of stainless steel.

We bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator - Model ES5FHAXS in 2006. Right off the bat, a line in the back of the refrigerator was leaking. We paid for the repair. Next after just one year, the refrigerator would be warm and the freezer part ran super cold. The settings did not work. After much haggling with Whirlpool, they paid for someone to come out and repair it. It worked for several weeks then the same problem came back again. We argued with Whirlpool again and someone from AES or AAA came out. The problem was fixed but once again came back again after a couple months. We called Whirlpool again. This time was much haggling and arguing but got them to come out a third time. Once again, the problem was fixed but came back again after several months. The repair company stated that if they found it was something other than what they fixed, we would be charged. I said either it was not fixed right or the refrigerator is a total lemon. I said you will probably just say it is something else to cover your costs. Whirlpool acted like they did enough, even though 3 repairs could not get it right. If we paid or each repair ourselves, it would have been nearly the cost of the refrigerator and it still would not have worked. We bought a refrigerator back in 1992 and never had any problems after 16 years when we moved. The refrigerator was not cheap but could not do what refrigerators are supposed to do - keep things cold all the time. What a disappointment.

On 12/31/2009, I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio, model# WTW6800WW1. I was excited as we have never spent that kind of money on a washer. We felt as though we had purchased a higher end washer and would have it for years to come. Wrong! About one year in to its use, I began to think it was getting louder during the spin cycles. I thought I was just being critical and it was just my sensitive ears. Now just past the two-year mark, I know it was not me. It’s the POS washer. It is so incredibly loud, not that you cannot be in the same room as it is during the washing time especially the spin cycle. In its defense, my clothes got cleaned. However, I know that the bearing is eventually going to give out and I will have a mandatory repair on my hands or have to pay someone to fix it. Either way, it’s a lot of time and a lot of money to fix a two-year old washer that should not need to be fixed. I attempted at getting Whirlpool to stand behind their product. No chance, no way. Good luck with that. Their washers last about 2-3 years. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product. This is a horrible product which is matched by their horrible customer service.

The washer (Cabrio WTW7800XWO) was less than 2 years old and we had a motor go out, so we paid a repairman to come out and repair the machine. The total cost was over $300. Now 2 months later, we get another code on the machine and Whirlpool says, We are sorry but there is nothing we can do, but if you would like to pay $219, we can get a repairman out there to check out the machine and repair it. Theyre also giving the machine an additional year warranty. Shortly after that, I noticed the lid was not staying up when I opened to put clothes in it to wash. So since I was wondering what was happening, I looked at the lid and to my surprise, the springs that hold the door up when open are built into the plastic lid cover that has a see-through glass on it. Right where the springs are located, it must be a stress point and the plastic lid has since cracked and is almost about to break off. I am now in the process of ordering another lid and Whirlpool offered to sell me a lid for $226 but I think I shall buy it from someone else as I dont want to put any more money into Whirlpools pockets. We paid over $1000 when we bought this machine. Now it is about 2.5 years old. I hope there is a class action lawsuit on Whirlpool as I will definitely join in if there is. This company needs to go out of business if they continue to sell machines like this that have so many problems especially when they are less than 2.5 years old. Goodbye Whirlpool. You have lost many more customers as I shall be letting everyone I know about all the problems and complaints about this machine.

I have been having a problem when washing my jeans in the Whirlpool Cabrio
I have been having a problem when washing my jeans in the Whirlpool Cabrio that I have never had before with my old washer. When I wash my jeans, there are always a few pair, never the same ones, that have an odor like dirty dishrags on them. I always hang my jeans to dry so I do not think it is this. I have tried to add a freshener to the wash cycle, it does not work. I have tried to dry them in the dryer with a scented dryer sheet, it does not work. I am assuming after reading these past complaints from other consumers that it is not getting all of the clothes clean because of the lack of water. I always use the deep water cycle, but maybe it is not enough water as previously suggested. I have had an issue with blankets and other heavy items not getting clean and/or not even wet. Thoroughly disgusted with this appliance!! I love all of my Whirlpool kitchen appliances though!
