Whirlpool water heaters are a disgrace!!!! I have never been so dissatisfied in my life with a product. I bought this water heater 11/2017. Three months later, it was not working. Whirlpool sent an igniter and I had a technician to put it on. This was a short fix because it broke down 2 weeks later. I called customer service and of course they gave me the runaround. I will never ever buy another Whirlpool product. This company is the worst.

We had Lowes install a Whirlpool model Nu40T121-403 natural gas water heater early October 2012. The temp controller went out in October of 2014. I replaced the controller myself at a cost of $30 for overnight UPS from the manufacturer, American Water Heater. The controller went out again almost exactly one year later and I again replaced it for the $30 shipping charge. In both instances the customer service person told me the malfunction was probably due to my not flushing the heater annually, causing a sediment buildup. The water to the heater not only flushed annually, but is filtered through a water softener and there was absolutely no evidence of sediment in the drain water or on the part of the control that is in the tank. Now it has stopped working a third time. I called Lowes about replacing it, but they only carry Whirlpool, so wont be buying a replacement from them.

Moved into a house with a 2009 Gold Series Dishwasher model GU2475XTVY0. It has never worked since we moved in 3 years ago, always left dishes musty and poorly cleaned. We basically used it as a rinse/dry and pre-washed everything by hand. Even then it would mold up frequently and required manual cleaning. Total piece of junk, but looked really nice, stainless finish. Yeah.Latest chapter is it completely stopped working. Called a tech out for the usual $80+. His advice: this is a total lemon, and has been from the start. Not worth repairing. So Whirlpool, is this the standard you have now? 5-6 years for a dishwasher life cycle? Noted that my fridge is a matching 2009 Gold series, it has also had several problems with keeping a steady temp and has gone through 2 control boards at a hefty fee each. I guess Im done with Whirlpool, running out of appliance brands to blacklist here...

Let me just start by saying I have multiple Whirlpool appliances, and I have always bought Whirlpool appliances in the past. I bought a refrigerator 3 months ago, and it quit working. So, I called Whirlpool to come service it. The service repairman said someone left the freezer door open and it froze up. Two days later, I had to call them back again, because now, the fridge part was not keeping food cold. He came back out and told me it was the compressor. I then in return called Whirlpool that afternoon, and they refused to replace it saying they had to follow their Warranty Policy and they would call me back on Wednesday. They did call back on Wednesday and told me they had located the part. I got a call on Tuesday of the following week and was informed they could not locate the part. I called Whirlpool the next day, and they told me they would have to send it to their Exchange department for review and I would hear back from them in 3 business days. I asked for them to rush my request, but they told they have no way of doing that. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again!

Purchased a new Whirlpool washer and dryer at Best Buy 6 months ago. We complained to Best Buy and Whirlpool about our clothes not getting cleaned. In other words, my clothes are coming out of the washer dirty. My make-up towels come out with make-up, my husband’s fishing clothes smells like fish and my son’s bike riding clothes is full of dirt. Whirlpool’s answer was the technician is reporting that the machine is working fine. Whirlpool told me to use different cycles and detergent etc. and I have done everything they ask, but my clothes are still the same. I told them this is a defected item. A washer should do its job - wash dirt and smells out. I want a different washer and they refuse to exchange this item for another washer after a second call to technician. Best Buy is telling us there nothing they can do for us. What has America come to? The manufacturers and dealers are selling to consumers and taking advantage of them by not responding to the needs of the consumer. In other words, we the consumers pay for product, take time from work and personal time to reports these problems and we get nothing back, just the run around. Is there something we can do? What can we do? This is very frustrating. We work for what we need. We pay for what we need and we dont get what we need. On the other hand, the manufacturer and dealer get what they need, our hard working money. What can we, the consumer, do to get our hard working money worth????? If anyone knows, please share your experience.

Buy anything else. This WHIRLPOOL WITH STAINLESS INTERIOR WDF560 SERIES is the worst dishwasher Ive ever owned. Huge fail Whirlpool. MADE IN THE USA! I will never buy another thing you make again. I cant say ONE redeeming thing about this dishwasher. I hate it! It has a high temp wash, a Sani cycle & heated dry + a stainless tub. Using all of the above + having an SS tub yet everything comes out dripping wet. The cheap silverware baskets are poorly designed & positioned on the side to the back in addition to a tall tub making it difficult to access anything in them. The baskets are also cheap and poorly designed. All the spacings are the exactly the same with no proper spacing for pots, pans or larger items. These cheap racks will have a short life. Its outrageous to spend 649.00 for such an inferior product. Buy a cheap dishwasher! This thing is no better than a builder grade that looks good.

I wouldn’t recommend buying Whirlpool appliances. Hot dishwasher in December used 1 month and the board went out. 3 month to get a new then they install it and they sent the wrong user interface. Wait another month. Still no call. No dishwasher. Everyone I know has issues with Whirlpool appliances that are branded as made in US yet if they truly had good components that were made in the US they would get more customers back.

Sounding like a broken record, this washer is such a disappointment! I had high hopes for this top loader and thought I did enough research. Bought a Cabrio in Oct 2016 and have never liked it. They will have you believe it’s your fault... the wrinkly clothes, the clothes not clean enough, the white marks over all your clothes... you can’t change your detergent or softener enough and change the amount enough... it will still be there. So disappointed??? Want my front loader back!

We purchased our first Whirlpool product, a washer, model WTW4800XQ 2 years ago. Started having problems with the clothes dripping wet after the wash cycle. Turns out the 2 year old washer needs a shift actuator and a wire harness that will cost close to $400 and take a week to obtain! I have had Kenmore appliances for the past 35 years. Ive never been disappointed it their performance or longevity. Each appliance lasting 15+ years and in the case of my fridge, it lasted 30 years! I am very disappointed in Whirlpool and WILL NEVER purchase another whirlpool product.

My husband and I purchased a Gold Series, French Door refrigerator/freezer
My husband and I purchased a Gold Series, French Door refrigerator/freezer in 2012. Everything was fine until our icemaker took a dump a few weeks ago. It had to be replaced. Taking time off from work to meet the repairman with that repair was an inconvenience but it was only magnified when we were told he would call us an hour before the repair, which never happened. We were given the usual 4 to 5 hour window in which we could expect a service call, which is the standard these days. But I had to rush home when he called because we never got that courtesy call an hour before. The repair, as frustrating as the situation was, was made and we thought that would be end of that for a while.Things were fine until today when I discovered puddles of water on our wood floor as I was leaving for work. While mopping things up with a paper towel and trying to determine what the problem was, I discovered a frozen puddle of ice on the floor of the freezer when I pulled it out. This situation, obviously, was more urgent than the last one we had a few weeks prior so we were hoping for a bit more than the Well have someone come out on the 20th response I was given. It was only after jumping through hoops like a trained monkey at the circus and raising my voice a few times out of frustration, did we get a call from the actual repairman who said he would be out within a couple of hours.By his own admission, the small rubber seal the repairman replaced somewhere in the refrigerator, was known by the manufacturer to be an inferior part. He told us they are well aware of the problems caused by this inferior seal and that they eventually need to be replaced with one that is of better quality. Apparently, its cheaper for them to use the inferior one, and they choose to disregard the inconvenience, not to mention the potential damage that could be caused to a persons home because of it.We have a great many concerns on a great many levels surrounding this product and the way we were treated as paying, extended warranty consumers. This refrigerator was a major purchase for us. We placed our confidence in a company and a product we thought we could trust; not to mention making the assumption that if we paid good money for an extended warranty, a problem like this most recent one would meet with more of an eager attempt at getting us the help we needed without having to become as insistent and frustrated as we were forced to be.How disappointing to discover that spending over $2,000 on a major purchase like this and then being told we would have to wait 3 to 5 days for a repair. Having to take time off from work, or being told to wait for up to 5 days for any sort of help to replace a small rubber seal, known to be of inferior quality, that was replaced in 10 minutes is absurd. Think twice before spending hard-earned money on this product!! The tragic lesson, however, in all of this is the verbal confirmation by the repairman that just about all manufacturers are the same when it comes to corporations trying to save $$$ and blowing off the inconvenience and expense of their customers.

This microwave usually has great reviews but I think I just got a dud. I purchased this model (WMH53520CS-0) as part of my new home build. After 9 months the door sensor broke and anytime we would go to run the microwave, it would tell you to open/close the door. Whirlpool sent out a certified factory dealer to fix the problem. They found it to be a faulty control panel and replaced it. After that was replaced, the exhaust fan broke. Whirlpool sent out that dealer again with the new part, and everything was working perfectly. Flash forward a whole 24 hours later, and the microwave would make the loudest sound ever and shut off after 3 seconds and blow the fuse. Turns out the turntable motor had broke and the NEW control panel was already faulty. The turntable motor part was on back order for a month and I am still currently waiting for it to be shipped to me while I have a microwave shut off collecting dust. As most anyone would be, I was extremely frustrated knowing that Whirlpool has spent at least 4 times more sending out certified dealers and replacing parts, than if they were to just order me a new microwave. They stood firm on their policy even if it meant a customer without a working microwave for over a month. Whirlpool did offer me a nice $75 debit card that took 4 weeks to arrive to help pay for a temporary microwave, but they would not work with me when I asked for the warranty to be extended 3 or 6 months. I wanted that peace of mind and its frustrating that for 2 of my 12 month warranty, the microwave was completely broken.Overall, its a nice microwave when its working but with all I have had to go through, I wouldnt recommend this model nor any Whirlpool appliances...

My boyfriend and I purchase a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer on November
My boyfriend and I purchase a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer on November 28, 2010 from Lowes in Shepherdsville, KY. Just after we purchased the set, I read some bad online reviews of the set. I called Lowes and talked to Chris ** in appliances and he assured me that this was a good set and that it was very popular with their customers. He assured me that if there were any problems that Lowes would make sure they did everything they could to fix and/or replace the appliance(s). My intention was to cancel the order when I called, but he convinced me not to, now I completely regret not canceling that order that day.In May of 2011 we called Lowes to report that the dryer was not working properly; they sent a repair person from Maytag Service Co, 1500 South Shelby, Louisville, KY 40217, phone number 502-637-6526. The name on the card that the repair person left is Steve **. The repair tech indicated that the problem was that the belt had come off and he put the belt back on the dryer. It has worked without issue until about 2 weeks ago, when it stopped drying again. I assume the belt is off again since it is performing exactly the same as it did in May when we had the repair company out.I called Maytag Service Co approximately 1 to 1 1/2 weeks ago to see when a tech could come back out and I was told they only work Monday - Friday. I told them both my boyfriend and I work and cant really take time off from work to be home for the repair. The male on the phone indicated that they could call 30 minutes before arriving if that would help. I told them that wouldnt really help since I work in Louisville (about 30 minutes from Shepherdsville where we live). He indicated that was the best they could do.Yesterday, November 7th sometime during business hours. I spoke with someone in their appliance department. He indicated that I would need to call Maytag Service Co at 502-637-6526. I called them and was advised that they could come out the next day (today), November 8th, but they could not give me a time window. I spoke to a female who did not identify herself. She specifically stated, If someone has not called you by 8:30 a.m., you can call us and we will give you a time window. Since I had just earned a vacation day at work, I so desperately need my dryer working that I took the day off to get the dryer fixed. I got up at 7:30 a.m. this morning to prepare for the service call. I have not left the house today. At 9:20 a.m. my boyfriend called and said that the service company had called and they were not coming out. I called them back and again spoke to an unidentified female. She indicated that they called my boyfriends phone at 9:00 a.m., he called them back at 9:20 a.m. I was on the phone with the female at 9:25 a.m. She indicated that I should have called at 8:30 a.m. and that they never call their customers because they dont have time to call them all. She said that when my boyfriend didnt answer the phone at 9:00 a.m., they had to send their tech on to the next call because, they cant have their tech waiting around 20 - 30 minutes on customers to answer their phone. When I told her that I took my only vacation day to be home for this call, she indicated that I would have to reschedule for another day because their tech was already on his way to another city. I then stated that I thought that was ** and she hung up on me.I called and spoke with the store manager at Lowes in Shepherdsville, KY. He called Maytag Service Co and was told that I used profanity and was rude and that I would not provide them with an alternate number. Most if not all of these are lies. I did say **, but I was not rude and I was never asked for an alternate number. I give out my number and my boyfriends number to almost any company we deal with. My boyfriend is also a service technician for Icee Corporation and he is not allowed to be on a cell phone in his work truck; therefore I always give both numbers since I can easily answer the phone throughout the day. The store manager made several attempts to try to find another company to come out and service our dryer, but cannot find anyone to come before tomorrow. Since I used my only vacation day today, I cannot be here for the technician and my boyfriend doesnt have any vacation or sick time to take to be home for the call.I cannot believe that after spending over $1300 on a Whirlpool Washer and Dryer set (including several hundred dollars for the extended warranty), that we cannot get our dryer serviced at our convenience. Since when did companies only repair or back up their products at their convenience? This in my opinion is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I thought Whirlpool/Maytag was a good company; now Im not so sure. I just wish I could return the set and do more research and find a quality appliance that wont break down 2 times in less than a year!!

I purchased a Cabrio Top Load Washer and Front Load Dryer four and a 1/2 years ago and have had nothing but trouble with them! The dryer needs to be run 2 cycles to get the clothes dry. In that time I have had a repairman come to the house 3 different times to look at the dryer, which cost me over $200. They have had to replace the belt and inner pulley and then the sensor harness. Recently when they came they tried replacing the coils. It continues to give me trouble drying the clothes and I am very dissatisfied with it. A few weeks ago the washer broke. I have had repairmen come to the house 4 different times. Multiple times there has been a problem with the spin and drain cycle. All of the water would not empty out. I would have to run the cycle again. They eventually replaced the actuator. I continued to have difficulties with the washer. Then the machine got very loud when it would spin out sounding like a rocket was going to take off! The repairman came once again said it was the motor. When they returned with the parts and took the machine apart, the parts inside the machine had all corroded! The water had been leaking inside the machine, destroying it, and a black sticky buildup had formed! The machine was deemed unrepairable! I paid over $700 for each machine and am very upset about this. When I spoke to customer service they would not stand by their product because I didnt have the warranty anymore. After numerous phone calls I filed a complaint and gave a bad review of the support service and product that I received.Weeks later they called me and offered to have me purchase another machine at half price! I had already bought another brand washing machine and I asked them to apply the amount toward what I had spent on the new one. They would not and insisted the only thing they could do would be to have me buy their washer at half price. I told them I lost faith in their product and didnt want another one. So, I would not recommend the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer, or Whirlpool products since they will not stand by them! I have pictures to prove what happened to the washer!

We purchased the Whirlpool Duet Sport matching washer and dryer new in 2006
We purchased the Whirlpool Duet Sport matching washer and dryer new in 2006 from a local appliance store. The washer was around $1,000. The salesman sold us on the load capacity, telling us it can wash 15 pairs of jeans. We dont overload it, mostly because its a high-efficiency washer and doesnt use much water (Im still trying to figure out the concept of how can you clean a whole load of laundry with a little bit of water). Its very quiet, but the cycles take longer than standard washers. Also, you must use very little soap (too much soap will cause the washer to stop and display an error code, which youll have to call a technician to come and reset). It is now 2013, and the washer started thumping during a cycle and there was a burning rubber smell. We called an appliance repairman who gave us an estimate for repair of $800 to $900 (for a bad bearing/bearing casing and inner basket). Im sure that there was quite a markup on those parts! It seems to me that the older non-efficient washers lasted longer than 7 years, and certainly didnt cost $1,000 when new.

Whirlpool duet steam
Whirlpool duet steam model: WFW9750WW00Serial: CSY3601165Please see attached the pictures of our washer that was purchased without a top counter balance from HH Gregg in May of 2010. We were told by the extended warranty technician when he came to diagnose the machine on 6/24/13 that the bearing and basket were bad. He ordered the parts and returned on 7/2 to repair the machine. Upon taking it apart, he discovered the top counter balance was missing and was the reason that the bearing and other parts had failed. I will include pictures of the plastic that the counter balance should have been attached to. You can see there are no screw holes or scuffs on the plastic. It was suggested by one of the customer service agents, Kitty in TN, that we remove the counter balance. Per Kitty, Because had it come from the factory like that, it would have walked all over the laundry room and not worked right since the first day. Honestly, we have scuffs all over our walls and my husband just thought the legs needed adjusted or it wasnt sitting properly on the pedestal. We have never owned a front load washer, so we didnt know what to expect. The washer sits in a very tight space under the cabinets, but will walk in the middle of the floor especially before we installed the pedestal. The top counter balance was ordered on 7/2 and we were told it would arrive and be installed today. The technician called me at 10:55AM today and stated the package had not arrived. We are asking Whirlpool for a replacement washer as the one we purchased brand new came from the factory defective. We have been told a solid NO. Upon further inspection of the machine while taking pictures, I noticed that the bottom counter balance is cracked clear through as well. Im attaching pictures of that. I did speak with Laticia in MI. She was VERY nice and more empathetic than the other 6 or so people we have spoken with at Whirlpool customer service. She was professional, helpful and I hope who Whirlpool would want representing their company and brand. We feel Whirlpool sold us a faulty machine and they should replace it. We have been told by them that they are sending the parts as a GOODWILL gesture, and will have the parts installed. Now after the whole inside of it is shot and possibly the motor and boards, thats awesome. We are now an LG/Samsung family. This was our 3rd and last set of appliances from Whirlpool. When the rest of these die, we will replace with another brand. How sad that what once was a great company, and I grew up with my mom and grandma thinking there was no other brand to use beside Whirlpool, now we are left washerless for 3 weeks. They refuse to stand behind a mistake that was made in the factory. Ive read these are made in Germany. Maybe Whirlpool needs to bring jobs back to the US and improve their quality control.

Three years ago I bought a Whirlpool 22 cf bottom freezer (GB2FHDXWB02) & within 2 weeks it developed its first problem. Ive had service men out 3 times (on an extended warranty) for ice buildup and leakage, presumably from the icemaker, and the problem hasnt been solved yet. I tried to open the freezer tonight and the handle pulled off in my hands, nearly sending me head over heels. This thing is a major lemon!!! Dont get me wrong: I love the design! It looks good, keeps everything at the right temps & the bottom freezer is a great idea. Id buy the same design again if I could guarantee no leakage and a handle that wont separate from the door. Now Im having problems getting the repair service to come out here again, despite the warranty. Meanwhile, the fridge is leaking onto the wood laminate floor causing damage. I just replaced an ancient dishwasher & my old Whirlpool glasstop stove after its oven failed. I cant afford a new fridge too.

Have read several reviews on Whirlpool refrigerator. Short and sick. I had my refrigerator less than a month. Broke down, been getting NO satisfaction from Whirlpool whatsoever. I WILL NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES AGAIN. Service is terrible. Months have gone by, and its still sitting in my kitchen broken. They are taking their sweet time fixing it. Garbage. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL, save yourself the hassles.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 1.5 years ago and it has already died. Repairman need to replace the control board which had gone out. $450.00 to replace that piece, but could not guarantee that it would be the only problem. The motor or some other issue may have caused the board. This machine was purchased at Home Depot on sale and at $450.00 to repair would be approximately 70% of the original price. It will be cheaper to buy a new one rather than fix this one. We were not happy with this machine in the first place. It leaves the clothes stained with a white powder that never rinses off. The cycle time is very long, up to an hour to wash a load. The clothes are still very wet once the cycle is finished, which of course increases the drying time. I cannot recommend Whirlpool top loaders after my experience with this machine.

One year to the day after the warranty expired, the meat drawer in the refrigerator began filling with water. Two repairmen have been to my home and cannot repair it due to a design flaw. Also, I had to pay for a cracked bottom tray that happened during delivery which I didnt know occurred at the time. Whirlpool is now ignoring my phone calls and emails. We paid in excess of $800 last year. What am I going to do now? Buy another refrigerator and get rid of this one? I dont make that kind of money and I feel Whirlpool should stand behind their products. This model is not even on the recall list so that means to me that other consumers buying this model are getting ripped off also. The customer service people say sorry but wont budge on reimbursement. I was told they cannot honor my request. Whether this was under warranty or not, it still cannot be fixed according to the repair tech that was at my home. I need to find someone to help me before this lemon I bought decides to burst into flames. I want a replacement refrigerator, not this model of course, of equal value. I am not asking for the moon, just for something that works beyond one year. In this economy, we cant afford to buy a major appliance after one year. My car is still running and I bought that in 1985. Please find someone to help me. I thank you for your time.

Pros: The refrigerator is large and roomy, easily adjustable glass shelving, and easy temperature controls for the refrigerator temperature and freezer temperature. Cons: the refrigerator is bulky and limits space in a small kitchen. The lower freezer door does not seal very well and requires frequent tweaking and adjusting around the door seal. Also, the freezer handle becomes loose easily and requires tightening fairly often -- which is a pain to get on the floor on your back (and a flashlight plus a special wrench) to tighten the handle.

My electric stove is only four years old. In December, 2021, the control panel broke. Digital read out - numbers can’t be read. Service said it is control panel - can’t be found anywhere. Oven has caught on fire twice. House full of smoke. Whirlpool stated my first mistake was not calling them first. I dont have warranty and couldn’t afford a service call so I have DTE protection plan. They sent about appliance repair at their cost. Man said it is control panel and NONE can be found. Whirlpool can’t send THEIR serviceman for another two weeks. I was told to keep circuit breaker on stove pulled. I am 76 and my husband is 84. We can’t go out to eat every night for two reasons: we are on a fixed income - finances will not allow. Plus we both have health issue so I have to cook/bake a certain way. It is going on three months. We can’t afford a new stove every four years. I want Whirlpool to work out some compensation for my stress, aggravation, loss of bakeware that burned in the oven. Took us two days to clean the oven mess, including the glass door - don’t know how it didn’t explode. We had to run downstairs- at 84, moving fast is not that easy, to pull circuit breaker. I could not make two birthday cakes that I had committed to. Can’t bake or make casseroles. We need help of some kind.

I purchased this Whirlpool WTW7800XW2 washer expecting it to last many years. As a senior citizen, I spent well over $700 on this model because of its large capacity and water saving feature. It has been in service for just over two years and has had limited use. Last week the glass top popped up and I notice that it broke at the hinge. This is definitely a design flaw. The washer has a lock feature and with the broken top, it is useless. I called Whirlpool and the customer service rep said she could sell me a new $250.00 lid at a 25% discount. Looking online, I found that hundreds of consumers have this same problem. Whirlpool refuses to acknowledge the defect. The customer service rep indicated that I should have bought an extended warranty. This is my last Whirlpool appliance ever!

I purchased this machine in February 2019. The standard one-year warranty covered the first service call less than one year later. This call was related to the main control board. If this part goes out it will prevent the washer from advancing through the cycles. A technician was able correct this problem by resetting control board. That was sometime the first year. The next call was for the same problem and it cost me $90 to have a technician reset the board again. I then learned how to do it myself through online research. However, I had to do it more regularly and this got old as you can imagine. I did buy myself about two months of time by purchasing a used part but it soon failed as well. This main control board cost $564 if you get it from the manufacturer. This exceeds the cost of the machine. It was purchased in 2019. (The same machine has gone up to $740 today.) I had no other problems with that appliance however, it appears nowadays with electronics taking over cycles vs. mechanical parts you will not enjoy the same longevity as I did when I got 16 years out of a GE washer before this one. I have replaced this machine with a competitors product that costs less than the part except for the 5-year warranty from Lowes.

Purchased a Whirlpool double door refrigerator and within a year the freezer and refrigerator doors were severely out of line. Called repairman who said the risers were broken, they were plastic and needed to be replaced. We did that. The doors were again out of line so badly that you had to push the refrigerator door side hard to get it to close. Repairman came today and stated he would recommend ditching the refrigerator as the risers in the bottom of the refrigerator are made of plastic and will continue to break. He leveled the doors but stated that they will continue to become out of line again. The repairman stated that this is a design defect in the Whirlpool refrigerator and he has replaced the risers in many of the refrigerators repeatedly. As if the refrigerator isnt enough, we own a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer. Within 3 1/2 yrs the motherboard went bad in the washer and we had to replace it. The part and labor was almost $400. Whirlpool considered us a valued customer and offered us a comparable washer for $500 and they would take ours away for $20 extra. Only problem is that our original washer was $1,000 and the comparable was not as large as the one we had and did not have the stainless ours had.All I can say is if were valued customers I would wonder how they treat their less valued customers. All of this is to say that I will no longer purchase any Whirlpool products. Not only are the products below par but the customer service is non existent. They really do not care if they lose customers or not. They dont want to hear your woes about their appliances.

I purchased a Whirlpool French door refrigerator (model #WRF736SDAW12) with the bottom freezer last year. From the day it was delivered, its been broken. It was pouring so much water from the top panel, it would run over the top shelf and fill the shelves below. This was not a small drip. From the beginning, I was calling and requesting a new refrigerator this one was obviously defective. Whirlpool insisted on sending repairmen over and over and over again. I kept calling. I did not want this refrigerator. What if they finally fix the water problem and down the road, it has an electrical problem because of the amount of water it was internally leaking? Well, guess what? Not even twelve months in, theres an ELECTRICAL FIRE in the refrigerator! Thank goodness it was contained within a metal box within the fridge. It otherwise could have burned my house down. The refrigerator has finally been deemed irreparable. So for almost $300, Whirlpool will send a new refrigerator. Am I crazy? Theyre going to charge me more money? Its for depreciation, they said. Ive used the refrigerator for a year. I said it was broken when it was delivered. I requested a new one then. Theyre the ones who kept replacing parts. Now Im supposed to pay more money for a product that I paid full price for? I was told I have 14 days to accept their offer. WORST, customer experience, EVER! Thats what their customer service line is called – customer experience line. Sheesh!

Ive owned whirlpool appliances for forty years or more, and have been consistently pleased with them. My first washer and dryer lasted eighteen years while raising a family. Brand X lasted eight years with at least four repairs before we dumped the set. We moved and sold one set with the house, but my newest washer and dryer set is eleven years, and works fine. Ive had at least four ranges. We sold two of them with the houses, but theyve all been fine, just bought a snazzy new Whirlpool range as an upgrade. Im on my fourth Whirlpool refrigerator, but again we sold one with the house and we upgraded one perfectly good Whirlpool refrigerator to a bigger side by side with icemaker. Third whirlpool dishwasher. Weve moved a lot, leaving behind appliances and buying new ones. Sure, Whirlpool appliances break down, but they sell zillions of them, and you never hear about the zillions that never break down.

If you are considering a Cabrio washing machine, save yourself the aggravation and buy something else. I purchased a Cabrio model WTW5640X from Lowes 2 years ago. It has been one disappointment after another. First, the clothes were coming out really wrinkled and not fully rinsed. I now routinely use the extra rinse cycle. I also started washing very small loads with hardly any soap (and yes, I use the HE detergent). That works for me, but its not practical for a household of more than 2.This machine is also not for anyone with kids or who expects to remove routine soils. It doesnt clean well. White socks start looking dingy after a few washes, and even the hot cycle with bleach doesnt get whites white. Now, the washer has started shutting off with the clothes still soaking wet. I can press the Drain & Spin cycle to get it finish the job, but that adds another 13 minutes to the 63 minutes it already takes for a regular cycle with the extra rinse. I so wish I had not replaced my 15 year old Kenmore.

I purchased the Cabrio washer/dryer in 2006. We have had it repaired 6 times and I even purchased a two year extended warranty after having issues with it the first year. Now I seem to be in the same boat. The washer will not spin and drain. This has already been looked at by a technician several months ago. I feel like this product is faulty and has not worked properly from the start. Are there lemon laws for appliances? It seems that this product would qualify. I will never purchase Whirlpool again.

Bought on 9/11/2014 and installed by Lowes installers on the 15th. It quit heating two days later. Called Lowes and they said I would have to call Whirlpool. I did. WP had me metering with a multi-meter until found OTC button was tripped. Then they suggested I troubleshoot the elements and sent me a video. I called Lowes and they said they would replace. Later they called back and said WP would not give them a RA number and for me to call them. I did and the rep after much arguing directed me to call their factory authorized service, A & E. I did and they said it would be 33 days before they could come out. I hung up and called Lowes who called back later and wanted me to call WP again. This time they said they did not have a repair service close enough to come, but I could try buying the lower heating element and replacing it to see if that worked. I said no, the heater was brand new and they needed to fix it. Their next solution was have me contact a local plumber and arrange to troubleshoot, me pay the plumber and then send them the bill. They would reimburse me up to $100.00. Not acceptable and now the button has to be reset every few hours and the water gets scalding hot while it is heating. I called Lowes and they said they would get back to me, but I have little hope of a resolution. Product number is ** SN is ** Model is E2F50HD045V. Bought at Lowes, Lindale, TX.

Whirlpool washing machine model WCW4950XW2 - We have a barely two year washing machine that we purchased at Best Buy and it no longer drains or spins. After $100 repair call we were told that this is a common problem with this model. It is a transmission problem, and with the way the machine is built a repair person cannot get into the transmission to fix it. He suggested we buy a new washing machine. This is a travesty on so many levels! If whirlpool know it has a problem it should offer a partial refund for the purchase of a newer better machine. I keep thinking about what our landfill in this world look like with the proliferation of appliances that are engineered to last a year or two. I can guarantee you I will never purchase any Whirlpool produce again, and I will research whether other brands are associated with the whirlpool brand before I buy it. The representative was very understanding and agreed. The thermocoupler and gas valve were replaced a few days ago. It seems to be working fine. Additionally, a representative contacted me directly in response to my Consumer Affairs complaint, not knowing I had already gotten approval for the repair. The Cabrio top load washing machine is a piece of junk, an expensive piece of junk. The only way someone could give this machine a good review is if they work for Whirlpool or they think beating clothes up against a rock in the filthy Ganges River makes them clean. We purchased the HE top loader because we were told that all the problems of the front loaders had been worked out in the new top loaders. What a joke. At least the front loader I had, cleaned the clothes. Since we got the glass top model, I made a movie that shows several items of clothes just sitting on top, not getting wet, not getting moved around, not getting rinsed; therefore, not getting clean. After the wash cycle spins down, the clothes are pinned up against the side and the rinse barely touches them before its final spin. We have several items that had stains left from the soap - yes, we used HE soap, Im not stupid. Never again will I waste my money on a Whirlpool product or anything from Best Buy.

I purchased this set in November 2013, it is now October 2014. I made the same mistake as many others have made (according to the reviews that I have read on this site). Because I have owned Whirlpool brand appliances before - including washers/dryers - I assumed this new HE machine set would be every bit as good + quality. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework!Everyone is right - this Cabrio HE washer/dryer combo is nothing more than expensive JUNK!. My complaints are all the same as everyone elses: the clothes do not get clean, soap residue remains on clothes, the clothes even have parts of the articles come out of the wash cycle dry not even having had the water touch the articles in areas! The dryer has been repaired once already for a dryer sensor problem & overheating, now both the washer & dryer are making some ridiculous hum-drum noises! Even with the extended warranty that I purchased, I can see the loop holes built into it; theyve got me over a barrel with the nonsense mumble-jumble tactics of having to qualify for adequate service repairs for replacement of parts (3x on each machine) they cant find, before even attempting to negotiate a buyout that will never happen. Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop - I have a large black mark on one of the cooktop burners that appears to be beneath the surface of the cooktop. It’s almost within the finish of the burner and unable to be cleaned with cooktop cleaner. I have purchased an extended warranty and arranged for a service call. The repairman came out as scheduled, but informed me after making a phone call to who knows, because he did not tell us that the problem was cosmetic and could not be repaired under warranty. However, if we wanted a replacement cooktop, it would cost almost as much as a new stove. He also said that he had seen many of these ceramic burners with that problem and it was not unusual. All I really want is what is fair, a defect that is not my fault that needs to be replaced. The stove (Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop) was purchased in 2004 and is kept very, very clean.

I purchased this refrigerator and have had problems with it from almost the beginning. First, the doors wholl not stay open long enough to remove items. The technician Whirlpool sent out said the cause was an uneven floor. I checked with a level and the floor is almost completely even. So, then it said thats the way it was intended to work. Isnt that what the adjustment wheels on the bottom are supposed to correct? They dont. One individual in Whirlpools customer service department told me that the doors were not a functional part of the fridge and, therefore were not covered by the warranty. What?Next the refrigerator leaked and ruined the ceiling in the floor below. A few weeks after that was fixed (the fridge, not the ceiling), the unit completely shut down and I lost a tremendous amount of food. Bad enough to have to go through this but then to have Whirlpool treat me so the horribly was absurd. Fridge broke on Friday and a service person came out on Wednesday. Tech tells me he has to order the part (control box) and I find out the next day that the part was on back order. I had already been without a fridge for a week when Whirlpool tells me the part was not available until 9/19 (this was on 8/6)! That was not an acceptable solution so I requested a refund or a new fridge. Nope, their job is to repair, not replace. They said they needed 7-10 days to see if they could get the part earlier. What? Then if it couldnt be repaired in a reasonable amount of time they would consider replacing the appliance. They would not define reasonable amount of time.I believe I spoke to about 10 or 12 different whirlpool reps, and was told 4 times that a supervisor would return my call. One person did call back when I was unable to answer the phone and I called her back within 20 minutes. Guess what, she wasnt available and she never responded to my 3 return calls. When I complained that I had spoken to so many different people and was tired of telling the fridge saga to yet another person who would not help me, she volunteered to be my point person. She gave me her direct extension and said she would handle my case. I left 3 or 4 messages for her and she never returned my call. In other words, I was constantly told that I would receive return calls but never did. In summary, no one cared that I had an almost brand new Whirlpool refrigerator that was not working and that the date I could expect a repair was indefinite. In addition to all of that, every time I called they were experiencing a high call volume. Maybe they could hire more staff? When this all started, Home Depot told me I had to go through Whirlpool because it was under their warranty for the first year. Finally I decided to go to the store (after all, I did pay them for the fridge). After 3.5 hours in Home Depot, they agreed to replace the refrigerator. I havent gotten it yet (they did send over a small loaner), I am really hoping this is the end of this fiasco. I want my life back!! !

I work on Whirlpool refrigerators for a living every single day of my agonizing, miserable, lousy life. Ive never seen such a mass of dysfunctional, defective rejects as I have with the new Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerators. The ice maker never works because the water line always freezes in the door. The food in your refrigerator side will either spoil or freeze because the damper door will stick open or freeze shut. The water filter housing will start leaking before you change the filter for the first time because of the inferior quality of the plastic its made from. And of course my all time favorite the compressor will always go out under the first 5 years (Thats why Whirlpool changed the warranty from 5 years to 1 on the sealed system). Ive never been a big extended warranty believer. But, like old saying goes, They just dont make them like they use to. Definitely applies to Whirlpool refrigerators.

Purchased a larger hot water heater after reviewing the offerings from the big box stores. Obtained a 40 gallon Lo-Nox type. No problem. Found that I did not have time to install and 3 months later had a company install for almost $300. Within the first month the pilot went out at least 5 times. Had the install company come out and take care of the problem. Worked OK for 2 months and now the pilot light goes out again. Watched the flames myself and find them to be yellow. OK, so try to see what the situation is, call the installer, then call technical support. I am in a basement, on a cell phone and the representative basically has zero patience, zero tolerance for questions, treats me like an idiot and probably has never looked at any of the guides but keeps harping on me.I asked 5 times for patience and guidance not to be treated like an idiot. She kept calling it a manual and I tried at least 3 times to ensure that her manual is the install guide. She never did affirm. I stated I wanted my money back and she stated no. Whirlpool has a very skillful representative to keep consumers away. However this consumer is a small apt owner that purchases appliances, as well as hot water tanks microwaves etc. No longer will I purchase anything Whirlpool. Oh I will send a complaint about this rep, and she said thats fine send it to the PO box Total lack of product knowledge and not even skillful in a conversation asking for assistance. The installer also stated that this product has horrible reviews. I wish I had seen them before all of this. Total frustration and something unwarranted. I am out $900 and am replacing the tank with a Bradford white from the plumber. Lesson learned. Good bye Whirlpool, hope others stay away from Whirlpool everything. Choosing another brand is the only thing that makes businesses wake up and smell the money.

Whirlpool wsv07 psl satina - I bought my whirlpool, two-door whirlpool ref last Jan 2013. Just few days before the warranty expires, I had prob with gasket on lower door. And now six months after the warranty expires, the freezer is not working and wont make ice anymore... and I will be charge 400php for check up. Reading on other reviews, I bet I am buying a disposable appliance from whirlpool. The national ref of my sis been a service to her for more than 10 years and its still going good. Our GE ref prior to whirlpool serve as for 19 years.... but this brand sucks.

We purchased a new Whirlpool water heater April 2013 at Lowes and every 3-4 months the pilot would go out. My husband would simply re-light the heater, I guess he didnt think it was a big deal. However, in September 2014 the water heaters pilot went out and would not re-light, so I contacted Whirlpool about the warranty. It took 4 telephone calls (two of which involved a plumber, per Whirlpools request), and several days of cold showers for an authorization code to purchase a $8 part (thermo coupler). The hassles that Whirlpool put me through, no one should have to endure. Who ever heard of a technician telling you that they have to talk to the plumber, when you call them to explain a problem with your water heater, such as, the pilot will not stay lit and the plumber said it is the coupler (I couldnt remember the whole name of the part, but surely they should have understood what was wrong). Secondly, providing a plumber (unless youre married to one) to converse with them involves more money. Now I have a plumber at my house so I call Whirlpool and this technician insists that the plumber perform a test on thermo coupler to make sure that it was faulty before she gave the authorization for a new one. Yet again, when I called to Whirlpool with the plumber, while I was voicing my problems in resolving the issue of my water heater with this technician, and she just hung-up on me. So as not to be defeated and having already invested in the expense of the plumber, I called Whirlpool again and requested a manager. The technician asked if she could help and I informed her of my previous encounters. She apologized and took my information to have a manager to call me later; however, she did give me the authorization code for the thermo coupler without delay. When I went to purchase the part, I didnt have the old part (as trade; the plumber hadnt removed it), so I paid for it out-of pocket, to return the old part later.

I love my washer and dryer but am a little disappointed in a few areas. First, my washer stopped spinning normally after a few years, I forget exactly why. Then my clothes were too wet when it was done. My dryer then did not get my clothes dry in one cycle. Also, it was going to cost $500 to fix my washer which wasnt worth it. But Whirlpool did send us a new tub and all the parts for free. Thankfully my husband is handy and after finding a YouTube video, replaced it all and now it works again. My dryer still doesnt always dry everything all the way. I often have to do 2-3 cycles in the dryer to get my clothes dry. I thought there was supposed to be a sensor that would keep the dryer going until there was no more moisture. Maybe that is broken too.

Fridge residue - ED5FVGXWS07: Well, I gave it a long time and this is how they make Whirlpool refrigerators! I had a GE for 20 years and was so looking forward to this new one. What idiot designs a fridge that leaves water stains like this? And, the water falls onto the floor when refilling a water bottle plus there is no catch for the water. Argh! I really dont want to live with this for 20 years! Their resolution was to get a water softener; really?! It has a filter built in. They refused to replace the fridge.

Dont know the model but it is a basic smooth top range without self-clean option. Its easy to use. I like that it has a smooth top which is easy to clean. I didnt need to pay for the self-cleaning feature as I use an oven liner and clean it right away if I need to. When we went appliance shopping, we needed to replace all major appliances. We chose Whirlpool as we have had them before and they performed well. Also bundling a group of them allowed us to get a great deal.

Whirlpool Duet 3.9 cu ft High-Efficiency WFW9451XW00 - Hear my first experience with Whirlpool. I purchased a washer machine 30 April 2014. Guess what - machine stop working suddenly on July 30th, just about three months later. I had a lot of guest from overseas. While they visit me, I did not have my washer machine. How embarrassing. It was big mistake to buy Whirlpool. It is all made plastic inside and they uses cheap Chinese material. Anyway, technician came house to check what the problem was... all control system was burned. He ordered almost 10 parts from Whirlpool on 04 August. Whirlpool scheduled delivery for 20 of August. I called them for them to send the parts faster so my guests could wash their clothes. They send them little faster for August 16. After a day, technician was in the house again. I waited about 3 hours for him to fix my machine. He was really nice guy. He put install all new parts. Just in front of me, new parts broke after 5 minute. Whirlpool still did not contact me about their decision. Today is August 26th... I called them 5 time already - Nobody give me useful info. NO Whirlpool, guys - bad service.

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio top loader set in 2006. Honeymoon was over after the first year and I had to change the dryer element then the washer with the F51 code six months later. Last year, I had to replace the heating element again! For the last six months, I have been dealing with the dreaded UL on the washer. I cant afford to pay a technician $100 to come out and tell me whats wrong let alone what they will charge to repair a problem that, from the looks of this message board, will never be fixed. I have no choice but to get it fixed in order to sell the ** machine. I paid $1400 for this brand new set and have already invested $500 in repairs. How is this possible? I had a 20-year-old machine prior to this and never had an issue. There are lemon laws for cars, why arent there any for appliances over a certain amount? How in this day and age can a company be allowed to sell such garbage? I will never, ever buy another Whirlpool appliance as long as I live. Any other brand can have my money any day.

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from both Whirlpool and this unit. I purchased it from a local dealership and paid $881.00 which included tax and delivery cost. In less than 2 years, it broke. Whirlpool does not offer a warranty on the unit. After having a Whirlpool repair person come out for a cost of $75.00, I was informed that the parts to replace would cost $800.00 not counting additional labor cost which was TBD. I contacted Whirlpool and went from Agent (Phylicia) to supervisor (Ashley) to Manager (Carol **). The best offer I was given was to buy the parts at a discount of $400.00 which did not include tax, delivery or labor. So it would have run approx. $550.00 to over $600.00 to fix a $771.00 washer. My next letter is to Jeff Fettig (553 Benson Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022/ CIO of Whirlpool) to let him know how impressed I am with his product and customer service support. The next Whirlpool item I buy will be never. Take this as a word of warning to go Maytag or any other vendor because Whirlpool will not support you once the sale has been completed. Good Luck.

I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer from Home Depot. Within weeks the stainless steel on both products began rusting. They sent a third party repair service to look at both products and determined that, in fact, the stainless steel was rusting. Our technician said that both the dishwasher panes and the freezer doors would be ordered and replaced the following week. This was on September 4, 2015. After several promised arrival dates, the parts never arrived. I called both the third party repair company and Whirlpool on several occasions only to be told they were on back order. Finally, in late November, the new dishwasher panel arrived and was installed. It is now December 17, 2015 and our freezer door is still on back order. When asked what my options are, the Whirlpool representative simply said we have to wait. I said that because I have been so terribly inconvenienced that they should just come and pick up this piece of junk and replace it with a new one. Evidently, that is not an option. I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool product again as they do not back their warranty. I now have a $2,000 rusted refrigerator freezer to adorn our beautiful Christmas kitchen. Thanks, Whirlpool. Youve certainly made this a Merry Christmas. (Yes, sarcasm in play.)

We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio forcibly when our 20-year-old top load whirlpool finally gave out. The Cabrio sucks. It does not get anything clean, it ruins clothes due to low water which creates friction, clothes are left wrinkly, smelly, pilled with lint, stinky and unclean. Ive had it for a year and Ive given every cycle a chance. It simply does not do what it is supposed to.The HE washers are supposed to reduce water, but having to rewash everything several times with load times up to two hours not only increases the amount of water used but increases the amount of energy used. Our electric bill has gone up $30-55 a month on average. This doesnt even account for the fact that Im spending nearly 16 hours a week doing laundry for a household of five. Thats nearly triple the time I used to spend on laundry. From having to pretreat even the most minor stains to spending hours trying to get the wrinkles out, and having to remove pills of lint, to the fact that one wash cycle does not get the odors out nor the dirt out therefore multiple cycles are required. I honestly think I might spend less time if I hand wash everything, I certainly would get them clean and deodorized. UNFORTUNATELY Government regulations force the consumers to buy HE washers so our choices for clean deodorized clothes are non existent. If I had to do it again I would buy a used non-HE washer knowing it would run another 10 years and actually get my clothes clean.

I owned a Maytag washer for 30 wonderful years, so I of course bought a new one. I have battled with my Maytag (Whirlpool) front loading stackable top of the line washing machine for 2 1/2 years. It will not drain, yet sometimes it will. I have played every game with this machine to figure why. I had a repair company out 5 times while it was under warranty and they could never find the problem. It is totally unpredictable. If I could bill Whirlpool for my time and anguish I would own this company! They now say it is the computer board and I will have to pay $350 for a new service contract to fix the machine. I not very politely said that they should pay me for all my emotional abuse. They offered me another option saying they would pay for a service company to come out and look again. However, I would have to pay the labor and material cost. Since I have a stackable unit and it would take 2 technicians I would have to pay $90 for the second person. I was so mad that I called Whirlpool back and they refused to offer me that $350 charge and just said sorry. I are fortunate to have a lake house which needs a new washer. Guess what? It will NOT be a Whirlpool product. I wish I could go to the store where I purchased this holy terror and picket!

I knew I couldnt be the only one with these problems. The reviews confirmed it. I bought my Cabrio washer in 2012. Energy efficient, no agitator to catch on clothes, Great. It took me a while to figure out that the machine was eating my clothes and not cleaning them at all. Oh, they smelled fresh. That HE detergent smells nasty. The machine ate the edges off my good towels, T-shirts, jeans. Brand new underwear (thick elastic) was stretched all the way out and pulled. Normal stains and dirt do not come out even with pretreating. I started running my clothes on the delicate cycle, prewashing stains in a bucket by hand and then putting clothes in mesh bag before running the load. They still came out dirty and ruined. When I run the loads, it still registers as not being that energy efficient on the controls. Id gladly trade it back for my old washer. I feel like I have stepped back in time to a time where you washed everything in a tub or bucket. What a waste of time.

They came and checked and informed Whirlpool customer care. Within two months i.e. in May 2016 of installation Whirlpool again uploaded/charged the gas (the service engineers told us this is due to hot summer). Though again we had a cooling issue, we were under the impression as this is due to summer as explained by the technician. After that rainy season came and we didnt use the ac.As we are in December when we complained Whirlpool they said this is due to the copper wire gas is leaking and it has to be replaced and informed that though under WARRANTY, the customer has to pay for replacement (we have used only the 3 mtr copper wire which came with the ac only. we have not used any our own copper wire). Whether WHIRLPOOL GIVES SUCH A QUALITY COPPER WIRE which has to be replaced within 9 months. Now they are informing that you are calling us after 6 months of gas charging, so we cannot service. If you could have called within 3 months we could have serviced you. BUT WE ARE UNDER WARRANTY. NOT EVEN AN YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE.Not responding to calls, disconnecting to the calls even if we call their Delhi number 011-49308500. Though under warranty they are not ready to do service and very rude saying, we cant do anything. So, if we buy WHIRLPOOL ac we have to beg them even for their technicians to visit our place. Purchased Whirlpool refrigerator at Lowe’s. Refrigerator would never get cold enough, so I exchanged with a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator. After installation coffee was spilled behind refrigerator. I was unable to pull refrigerator out from wall to clean coffee spill from behind. When checking with Lowe’s on the 35th day, I was informed that Lowe’s 30 days warranty had expired and I would have to work directly with Whirlpool.I discovered it was very hard to communicate with Whirlpool; there was a problem that they only had on file the first refrigerator I purchased not the one I kept. The Whirlpool service rep did not seem very cooperative but with insistence they told me they would change my information to the correct model and serial number and a repair order was sent to a local service shop. The problem with not being able to roll the refrigerator out from the wall is that Whirlpool had changed their wheels to a tri-wheel support and there was not enough height on the single front wheel to lift the refrigerator to clear the screw down leveling stops on each corner. The service rep had no solution for the problem and had to call the Whirlpool service. He indicated he never was able to get assistance from that department. I told him I would talk to them as the consumer but they refused to discuss the matter with me, so I gave the phone back to the service tech. Whirlpool told the service tech to order replacement wheels of which I knew this would not resolve the problem. After two weeks, the replacement wheels arrived, the service tech installed them and as I expected they did not resolve the problem. I then requested the service tech to remove the rubber from the stops on the corner to allow for the additional required clearance and this solution worked. This is a very poor design for Whirlpool, but I accepted the results. Two weeks later I receive a phone call from the service business and they tell me that Whirlpool did not have the refrigerator model/serial number they worked on. Whirlpool was not willing to resolve the problem I had with them initially and the service business would have to bill me directly and was not covered under the warranty. At this point I lost it and informed the service business I resolved this model/serial number with Whirlpool before. Whirlpool gave them the authorization to work on the refrigerator and they would need to collect the fees from Whirlpool. I have purchased my last Whirlpool appliance mostly because Whirlpool makes it very difficult or refuses to talk to the consumer and it appears the quality is no longer there. Will Whirlpool become the next Kodak? With this kind of service, people will just quit buying from them.

First of all, Whirlpool is fully aware of the problems with water heaters and intentionally places requirements on the consumer until they give up. This info from a distributor. I bought 30 gal. gas water heater 7 months ago. Six days ago the pilot light went out. Went to Lowes (purchased there) and bought a replacement. Wrong one. Returned to store and was told they dont stock repair parts, call factory. Monday called warranty number. They offers to send thermopile, it would arrive in 5 days. I paid $30 for overnight. Plumber installed new part. Still doesnt work. Whirlpool says have the plumber call them theyll walk him through troubleshooting. I ask, Whos paying the plumber? They reply, You are. Plumber calls Whirlpool. They tell him to clean the screen. He does. They tell him to disassemble the burner. I stop plumber. I ask Whirlpool, What if its not the burner? They reply, Then well troubleshoot something else. Meanwhile Im 5 days without hot water. I go to Lowes where heater was purchased. The manager thought it funny Im another victim. I ask, Why doesnt Lowes stock heater parts? He says because Whirlpool doesnt let them carry parts. Im beat. I surrender. Parts from Whirlpool would take another 5 days and theres no assurance itll work. Lowes refuses to assist.I go to Sutherlands and buy a $450 Rheem on recommendation from plumber. Manager from Sutherlands hears my sad story and writes on receipt: Any warranty failure and Sutherlands will replace water heater free. He signs his name on receipt. I pay plumber to swap out heaters. Anybody want a 7 month old Whirlpool water heater. Like new. Cheap! By the way... I originally went to a major appliance parts store asking for a thermocouple for a Whirlpool. The three guys at the counter started laughing Hey we got another one looking for Whirlpool parts. They didnt have them either. Lesson learned.

I am also disappointed with this manufacturer. I recently purchased an over-the-range microwave oven model KHMS2056S. Within 45 days of use, it quit heating. I initially established a service call through Kitchenaids web site, with the first available weekend appointment approximately 2 weeks away. When the contracted service represented arrived (A&E), he asked me for a cup of water and placed it in the microwave, along with a temperature meter. After running the microwave for 45 seconds, he informed me that microwave was not heating. This was the extent of his troubleshooting, only to confirm what I had already reported in my initial service appointment description. The next step was to order parts and wait another 10-20 days for a new service appointment. When I challenged the technician on this, he stated that they were required to verify the problem and check the model/serial number of the appliance. But these were also provided through the automated service appointment system. Thanks to Lowes who allowed me to return the item, even though the purchase date was outside the 30-day window. It seemed obvious to me this warranty contractor was simply creating multiple service calls to inflate the repair costs. And ultimately the consumer pays this.

It will constantly go off balance. I usually have to wash the cloths twice before they come clean and I have to unload washer and re-load it to get it to possibly spin without going off balance again. It will twist the quilts and fold them under themselves and tear them from the pressure. I have called after 6 months of owning this product and explained to the Lowe’s employee and they said it cannot be returned unless it was broken mechanically. This is the worst piece of crap I have ever own. The last Whirlpool product lasted 12 to 20 years. I hated this thing after the first few washings. I generally have to stop the washer and let it soak and then turn it back on if I want the damn thing to get the dirt out. I am using the required detergent as well. I will never own another top load machine like this. I am trying to unload it. Now, I have to buy another washer because I might as well take the clothes out and beat them on a rock at a creek with this thing.

I just bought a brand new Sterling steel refrigerator not even 2 months ago
I just bought a brand new Sterling steel refrigerator not even 2 months ago, and since I got it, noticed rusty spots coming out,and now has spread all over. I called customer care, and they said it wasnt cover under the guarantee, and to buy a special spray out of my pocket expensive to remove the rust. I am Very disappointed with the service I received, for its not even 2 months old refrigerator and it looks like it is old now. In addition, the company didnt offer to send someone to take a look, checking and make sure theres no future problems with my new purchase, and as a courtesy removing the rust free of charge.

I purchased 4 whirlpool appliances at Leons in Mississauga. The side by side refrigerator was replaced within a few weeks. Got a new one and have had that one fixed at least 3 times already. The stove was serviced 3 times now, the washer broke so many times. They gave me a refund. The microwave broke as well. They told me it was not fixable, then I called Leons and they said it was too old. It was only 18 months old. Did not get anywhere with the microwave. Had to buy a new one. The only appliance I had that didnt break was the dryer. So far. The fridge now has broken inside, the crisper wont slide in and out at all. Cant be used. I bought a warranty on all the appliances, and even though I had a warranty, when a coin got stuck in the washing machine because the drum inside kept banging because it was in need of new struts, they still charged me 135.00 to fix it. Two to three weeks later a repairman came and put new shocks on it. Finally after having it repaired about 5-6 times in a year and half they gave me a refund at Leons and I went to pick out a new washing machine. Overall I have spent about 6-8 hours on the phone complaining and making appointments with Whirlpool Canada.

Purchased a Whirlpool French door in April 2020 during the pandemic for 2K. The first week of owning it my fresh vegetables froze. I lowered the factory set temperature by one degree. The next week the ice maker stopped making ice. 3 days later it started up again. The 3rd week my freezer food defrosted and the ice maker stopped making ice. Called Whirlpool And requested a refund. They said, No we will send a tech. The tech determined the control board was defective. I had to empty the entire fridge and turn it off, defrost it for 24 hours. The headache to find someone to take your food! The part took 2 weeks to get replaced. The tech said, If this doesn’t work we will have to come back and take the back off to see what the issue is. Told to defrost again for 24 hrs. The ice was so thick we did it for 48 Hrs. 1 week later ice started to form in the freezer and the ice stopped working again. Called whirlpool demanded a refund and they said no. A tech will come again. I’ve relocated my food 3x already. How many more times can I do that! Whirlpool is not concerned about their reputation at all, as I read through other reviews of situations similar to mine. Do not buy whirlpool!

We purchased this washer on 2008-04-27. It ran okay until a few months ago when it began making strange intermittent noises. This is now happening more and more often. I reviewed a lot of websites and see that this is a common occurrence for Whirlpool Cabrio washers, and Whirlpool will not stand behind it and make it right. Im going to write them a letter mirroring what Im saying here, and remind them that other appliances in my house are coming due for replacements or upgrades. Whirlpool and its affiliates will not be part of those upgrades going forward. I have no patience or tolerance for expensive **, which is what they put out here. I will have to purchase a replacement washer since this seems to have two major areas of failure, both extremely expensive to repair. I might check out Roper and see what they have--its apparently very well rated by the folks that work on these things.

This will be the last Whirlpool appliance I will buy. We purchased this Whirlpool refrigerator Model # ED5GVEXVD literally a few days over 2 years ago. It is a side-by-side refrigerator with shelves that are supposed to slide out, however, we have never used it in that capacity. The problem is that the plastic frames on every shelf, even the ones that do not slide out over the bins, have cracked in no less than 2 places on each shelf. We contacted Whirlpool over a month ago. The good news is that they responded quickly. The bad news is that they stated, It is unfortunate that you had problems with the shelves, but we are unable to do anything for you because it is out of warranty. If you would like to purchase replacement shelves, we could order them through their consumer parts department. This is such a crock. If it was one shelf, I could justify the possibility of it getting smacked or something overweight was placed on it, but every shelf? As I said, not a single shelf is crack free, including the ones that sit directly over the bins, which should have additional support from the bin construction.By the time I replace every shelf that is cracked, it will be equal to what I paid for this refrigerator 2 years ago, and it will net me maybe 2 more years of service. If I have to invest that kind of expense into it, the refrigerator will go to the recyclers and I will buy from another manufacturer, which will definitely not be a Whirlpool or Whirlpool subsidiary. The cracks were noticed early last month. The cracks are already getting larger. I will no longer allow my children to get anything out of the refrigerator since Im afraid that the shelf will crack, the glass in the shelf frame will break and we will have an injured child, which instead of reaching this website, I will be contacting a lawyer. I need to do something with this refrigerator, but with the economy, I cant afford to just keep replacing a $1,000 refrigerator every 2 years. This refrigerator does not get extreme use since it is the 2nd refrigerator in the house. The primary fridge has been in our house since 2005 and I wouldnt trade it for anything. This Whirlpool refrigerator, however, is poorly made. The materials that the refrigerator shelves are made from were just a poor engineering decision because it is not holding up to mild to moderate use without cracking. We purchased this Whirlpool appliance thinking we were getting a quality product from previous reviews we had read, however, this is obviously no longer the case with this company and seeing the complaints that I now see online. Someone would have to give me really compelling evidence to make me decide to ever purchase another Whirlpool appliance again.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Option - Very stylish. Well built - very solid and heavy constructions. Full features from quick wash to sanitary wash, very energy efficient, steam setting on dryer for touch-ups. Quick loads, etc. We were looking for a washer and dryer set that would accommodate large quilts and blankets and still have the flexibility to handle small and delicate loads, and be energy efficient. The Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Option is solidly built and very sturdy. It handles small and large loads and is very energy efficient. Both the washer and dryer handle sheets and pillowcases without a problem. Wed recommend them to anyone.
