I purchased this washer brand new just 2 years ago. It started making loud crackling noises approximately 3 mos ago. Yesterday it decided it did not want to spin or drain. Today a repairmen tells me its a wash. The computer screen has gone wacky and the cost to replace that will be well over $400, almost to the penny what I spent 2 years ago. This is not a good product Whirlpool and i trusted you since my previous washer lasted over 15 years. I need a refund and a new washer! Disgusted!

I bought this Whirlpool Cabrio Washer 3 years ago. Yesterday will be my last repair. I installed a new tub (bearing failed have to buy a full tub to replace), new suspension rods and a new stator and rotor (cracked). Last year I replaced a drain pump twice, and a computer board. All of these repairs since I purchased this washer have cost me well over $900 for a $1400 machine. I dont mind replacing a pump every few years but these larger failures are unacceptable. We have moved back to Kenmore on some new appliances we purchased this year as result of trouble with Whirlpool. Whirlpool should send out a recall on the suspension rods; the existing ones seize at the top and stop functioning causing the tub to shake excessively. This led to the cracked motor (rotor cracked).

I always seem to get Whirlpool washers. They are dependable but when they break down theyre down and usually its better to replace than to fix it....I would rather have a Samsung product because theyre more modern and have better styles to them.

Like everyone else here, I had to call a repairman to have a look at my washing machine after 4 years of limited use (only my husband and I). As soon as the repairman looked at it, he told me theyve had so many calls for this particular washer. He ordered a new part for it, but it did not fix the problem. Thankfully we purchased extended warranty and we were credited the full amount + tax. Today I picked up a brand new Maytag washer. Cant wait to try it. Thanks Leons for the great service.

Whirlpool contacted me today about a review I posted on their website about the washing machine I purchased from one of their distributors. It was not to say they were sorry for the washing machine ruining our floor or our clothing. It was to say that they will not post my review because the model number is not the same as the one I purchased. Unfortunately for me my model was manufacture discontinued and although they look alike this new model is significantly different than the previous model it replaced (I will believe that when I see it). So they obviously knew there were problems with the earlier machine. I am outraged that whirlpool would stoop to such low business tactics to sell their garbage to people and then treat them like dirt.

The cabrio washer that we purchased in 2010 did a good job of cleaning the clothes but the case started rusting within 6 months. After service calls and e-mails and phone calls, there have been no helpful suggestions beyond buy a complete new case. I hesitate to do that because I am convinced there is a design flaw in the area where the soap dispenser is located which allows the soap to flow between the case and the drum and it eats away theinside of the case through the inadequate paint covering on the outside of the case. It is a mess. Now the instruction panel is bubbling and lifting. I carefully care for my equipment and have kept two washers over 15 years and they still were in good shape with cases still looking new. This is not something I am doing wrong. It is a piece of junk with a terrible paint job and it cost more than any washer I have ever had. I wish I had some recourse. I am on a fixed income and had hoped this would be the last washer I would have to buy. I have photos.

It is a very reliable and efficient washing machine. I enjoy the energy saving features as well as how clean my laundry is, no matter how soiled they may be. I would definitely recommend a Whirlpool washing machine to a friend.

All of these awful reviews and you continue to sell the Made in China JUNK!!! And shame on the stores that advertise and sell Whirlpool JUNK!! They should put a warning on these machines stating Will not last, gets off balance and does not clean your clothes. Yes we bought the Cabrio like the others, our clothes would not get clean, because like sheets, would end up looking like a doughnut without a hole and all of the dirty water would drain through the middle and make a spot. Then you have to wash them over and over. But that is not the worse part! It only lasted 13 months, YES I said 13 months just past the warranty LOL!!When the man came to make repairs, it was the gear box and was going to cost almost $600. Almost as much as we paid for the machine. He recommended getting a Speed Queen, we did and I LOVE it!! I think it is the BEST MACHINE I have ever had. They are a little hard to find though, but I found where they were sold on the internet and the dealer had to order it. Well worth the time and trouble, (trouble) which I dont expect to have with this machine. Like I said it is a wonderful beast. And I will never buy another product made by Whirlpool. Before my husband retired he made prototypes for autos so he knows about testing and Whirlpool had to know this product had bad flaws before they put it on the market, I call that fraud. Bad taste in my wallet, Michigan.

I bought a new whirlpool washer 12/15. In May 2016 it stopped spinning fast, clothes are coming out wet, still waiting for it to be repaired. Waited 3 weeks for a part, repairman came out today, it did not fix the problem. Now it doesnt work at all. Service tech said wait another week for more information. Called whirlpool. They offered me a $50 gift card to cover the laundromat. I paid $1200 for this washer. whirlpool doesnt care. I want a replacement. They said the warranty covers repair only, but they cant fix it.

My washing machine is just over a year old and it has ruined so many clothes... They come out with brown stains on them... Almost like a oily stain. Not sure where its coming from but its either Im gonna have to buy a different machine or keep buying clothes. My husbands t-shirts look terrible... Washer is very mobile. Dryer does not dry. Refrigerator temp is never correct. After reading complaints, I firmly believe you know what the consequences of your products. I would never recommend Whirlpool again. I have used Whirlpool products since 1970 and always had good appliances. Your new products are worthless and you are spending more money on legal protection and lobbying than making a worthy product that actually cleans clothes and cools food. You are charging thousands of dollars for a worthless product and paying thousands of dollars for legal protection with warranties written to excuse your worthless product. Put your money on improving your products.

This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. I have had the Whirlpool Cabrio for less than three years, (4 people I use it for), and it is so loud when it is in the spin cycle, you think a jet airplane is taking off inside your house! Apparently the bearings go out of these machines when you use them! I called the company and all they want to do is sell me an extended warranty for over $300.00 for another year! Not doing that! I paid over $1,000.00 for this machine. I thought it would last a long time! Wrong! Please save your money and get a simple old fashioned one! I sure wish I had! Whirlpool doesnt care about their customers, or they would stand behind their products!

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer 2 years ago and it is by far the worst washer I have ever owned. Its a water saving device with extremely long cycles. The clothes dont get wet enough, dont come out clean and they do not smell fresh. I have to put them through 3 rinse cycles and often times have to re-wash my clothing. The cycles are very long, using more electricity, and it takes me 3 times as long to get my weekly laundry done. My clothing comes out more wrinkled and twisted causing longer time ironing. My old agitator style washer did a superior job compared to this piece of junk. I dont like the automatic locking lid, nor do I like the machine choosing the spin cycle for me. There isnt even a soak cycle. If I want to soak my things I have to do it in the sink and then drag them to the washer to rinse and spin them.I spend a fortune on laundry additives in order to get my clothing clean and then they arent as clean as with my old washer. I now dread doing laundry and every time I look at the washer I feel like taking it to the dump! There isnt anything I like about this machine and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. It is a piece of crap. This is 2016 and they havent learned how to make a good working washing machine. When I move, I will be celebrating leaving it here! I will never, ever buy a product made by them again.

I purchased a washer model# wtw560xw, serial# c04830040 on 1/11/11. This product has never properly washed clothes. I have had 3 technicians come out and press buttons on my machine. The most recent supervisor I spoke w is Niki id# **. She said that the machine washes but is not supposed to clean clothes. I am getting blown off and aggravated. I filed a complaint with BBB that went nowhere. Someone from the corporate office named Amanda called me and told me she would look into it and a week and a half later, not return my call. I had to track her down for her to tell me she can do nothing! The hold times are always extended. I have a pile of ruined clothes and a pile that I am attempting to hand wash. I am beyond frustrated and need a machine that will wash my clothes. I am not in the 1800s. I should not be hand washing when I paid hundreds of dollars for this useless machine. Whirlpool washing machine model WCW4950XW2 - We have a barely two year washing machine that we purchased at Best Buy and it no longer drains or spins. After $100 repair call we were told that this is a common problem with this model. It is a transmission problem, and with the way the machine is built a repair person cannot get into the transmission to fix it. He suggested we buy a new washing machine. This is a travesty on so many levels! If whirlpool know it has a problem it should offer a partial refund for the purchase of a newer better machine. I keep thinking about what our landfill in this world look like with the proliferation of appliances that are engineered to last a year or two. I can guarantee you I will never purchase any Whirlpool produce again, and I will research whether other brands are associated with the whirlpool brand before I buy it. Sad that a once good company has gone to hell.

The Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine it’s the best washing machine I’ve owned. Water temperatures are right on, has an express wash 38 mins for lightly soiled clothes, plus the normal, delicate, heavy, bulky, 2nd rinse, if you need it. My wife loves it because it’s very Gentle on her personal items. Energy saver AND BEST OF ALL, IT REALLY CLEANS THE CLOTHES.

I bought my Whirlpool top loading washing machine 07-22-14. I so dislike the locking mechanism and will be certain to never, ever buy a machine with that feature again. It is so irritating to try to add something but cant because its locked so have to hold the button 3 seconds to unlock and start all over. If there was any way to get around it I would. I will stay away from Whirlpool products in the future and will be sure to check the next time I buy that the lid of the washer can be lifted when not spinning. Also, I do not like that it sticks on rinse sometimes and the only way to end a cycle is to hold the button and then start over with much wasted water.

Whirlpool Cabrio HE washer - Purchased my set in 2007. Has not worked properly most of the time we have owned. Lid locks our clothes in when the machine malfunctions and we have to barter with the machine for hours of Google suggestions to get the clothes back out. Still dirty. Or still soaking wet, not spun. Ive never seen so many error codes from one machine. I would never purchase this brand again. The only pro is the load size, which trust me - we have spent more time, water, energy & $$$ with the washer not properly working than the large capacity has saved us.

I bought A Washer Whirlpool and right after 30 day of the purchase my washer went bad and I called the Whirlpool Services and they told that will take about 30 days to come out and take a look at it. Are you crazy!!!! Freaking garbage that is what is. Never would want to buy Whirlpool again specially with that type of customer services they have..

My husband and I, purchased this washer on November last year, I used twice before and I noticed that the clothes felt hot, but the cycle was COLD water. Now use it again until June 2015. In every cycle the clothes were hot, I started calling to get an appointment in June at the 1800-253-1301, but the system was down twice. Then in July then again the system was down, then August 10, system was down. I did not wait more and called back the next day, August 11, got appointment for the 20. A technician came, he told me that the hoses was switched, but I know the hoses was installed correctly, my husband was here at the installation. He knows the proper installation of the washers.

Piece of junk that tears up clothes but doesnt clean. Company has ZERO care for their customers. I will never buy Whirlpool again. We called and called and called. Washer took two hours for a normal load. Crust and odors still there. Dryer was fine.

Whirlpool Washing Cabrio machine model WTW5500XW0 - I purchased this machine five years ago. After about a year I started having problems where the clothes were not coming out clean. I contacted Whirlpool and was referred for a repair. The repair man told me these newer machines need the Affresh product to clean out the machine so this doesnt happen. I bought the Affresh product and there is still a problem. Every load of wash has to be put back in for another rinse cycle, sometimes two rinse cycles. Its ironic because the cover of the booklet for the machine says low-water washer which was the selling point to buying this machine. Instead of using less water, Im using DOUBLE the water.

Terrible wash machine. Some clothes come out having never even gotten wet. The spin cycle ties your clothes in knots so bad you have to machine dry them because the wrinkles are ridiculous. I’m all for saving water but if your clothes don’t get wet, how are they going to get clean? Also can’t do just a rinse and spin cycle. I would rate zero stars if I could. Don’t waste your money on this junk! Wish I could buy an old fashioned Maytag. Those washers were the best!

Last year, our clothes started coming out too wrinkled. And until recently, its making a loud noise like an airplane. I called Whirlpool, and the only help they can give me is finding a company that would do service and would charge a lot.

I bought washing machine Whirlpool Cabrio Model WTW7300XWO two years ago. It only lasted 2 years and the tub seal and tub bearing went bad. I called Whirlpool and they wouldnt replace defective part on their dime. I talked to supervisor and they still refused to admit they needed to fix this broken product on their dime and make it last longer than 2 years. They claimed only a 1-year warranty. This is totally unacceptable to have a supposedly good washer that you pay $700 for (manufacturer price $899) last only 2 years! Very, very disappointed! I wouldnt buy from this company again!

The front of our Whirlpool washing machine started to rust in one place at the bottom within six years. Now it has broken out in three of four places on the front. We are very dissatisfied with machine and will never buy one again.

I knew I couldnt be the only one with these problems. The reviews confirmed it. I bought my Cabrio washer in 2012. Energy efficient, no agitator to catch on clothes, Great. It took me a while to figure out that the machine was eating my clothes and not cleaning them at all. Oh, they smelled fresh. That HE detergent smells nasty. The machine ate the edges off my good towels, T-shirts, jeans. Brand new underwear (thick elastic) was stretched all the way out and pulled. Normal stains and dirt do not come out even with pretreating. I started running my clothes on the delicate cycle, prewashing stains in a bucket by hand and then putting clothes in mesh bag before running the load. They still came out dirty and ruined. When I run the loads, it still registers as not being that energy efficient on the controls. Id gladly trade it back for my old washer. I feel like I have stepped back in time to a time where you washed everything in a tub or bucket. What a waste of time.

My 79 year old grandmother hasnt used her Whirlpool washer in 5 months because of defects that Whirlpool USA thinks they are going to fix. Really??? How long is she going to go without being able to use her washer that she bought from your company? Is it going to take a year? 5 months!!!! I should be billing you for all of the out service of laundry we are having to pay for because of this inconvenience. I have never experienced worse customer service and more of a waste of my time and my dad’s time. I hate posting this but the only other option is therapy for my family from dealing with this insane issue.

We wanted the ease of use and longevity of a top loader WITHOUT a full touch screen. Whirlpool has such units in a choice of price levels to accommodate most everybody. The agitator free design and automatic water level feature is amazing. Clothes are nice and clean and uses about the same amount of water as flushing a toilet.

I bought a Whirlpool washer WTW4800XQ top loader. I have owned it for about two years and now it has tore up, the repair bill will cost almost what I paid for the washer. I feel it is bad business to sale something and it not last any longer than it has. No one should have to buy a washer every two years!!!! When it gets to the spin cycle it works fine and then all of a sudden it will beat and bang and if you dont get it stopped it will be in the middle of the floor. We purchased our new Whirlpool Cabrio washer on November 1, 2013. From the start this machines performance has been a disappointment. We bought the machine at The Brick (I should have known better) where we had made several purchases over the years ( I guess Im a slow learner). Right off the hop, my wife and I noticed that the clothes were not coming out clean. Even though the machine is Eco and therefore advertises that it uses less water, there should be enough water that the clothes at least get evenly wet. That may be a problem with the agitator not seeming to have the guts required to pull the clothing down to the bottom of the drum. We went back to The Brick and told them that we were not happy with the machine they had sold us and quite predictably they told us that we should call Whirlpool (This was less than a week after we had it delivered. Did I mention that I may be a slow learner?). We called Whirlpool and they told us they would have a tech out to take a look at it on November 11th. Wow, I thought. Hows that for service. A repair guy coming out on a statutory holiday. Of course it didnt happen. When we called them back to ask if their repair guy had made it home okay, they claimed that we werent there when the repairman tried to call to confirm his arrival time at our home. We hadnt left the nest the entire day. They then told us to go back to The Brick. We went back once again and told them, yet again, that we were not satisfied. This time they agreed to send their own man over to take a look. He came over yesterday and watched the machine go through an entire wash cycle and then said that there really wasnt anything he could do, as even though it may do a crappy job of washing the clothes, it at least appeared that mechanically speaking there didnt seem to be anything wrong with it. We called Whirlpool back today and they said that there isnt anything wrong with it mechanically so from their end, at least, the story is over. What kind of customer service is that????? Maybe Whirlpool and The Brick deserve each other, but I think we should get better treatment than that

The washer does clean simple stains. The clothes end up all twisted (sleeves & pant legs). Antiperspirant gets transferred to dark clothing. Large loads do not get clean and the response from Whirlpool was run everything on hot and for longer than normal times. The enviro rating and low water usage claim has resulted in a machine that does NOT fully clean clothes. Look elsewhere and do not buy.

I purchased Whirlpool top loading washing machine model # WTW57ESVW less than 2 years ago. It stopped working yesterday. I had a trusted professional repairman evaluate it today. The motor needs to be replaced after less than 2 years?! The customer service reps basically said sorry. I should have purchased the extended warranty. Is it not reasonable to trust that a Whirlpool washing machine motor should last more than 2 years.I am very unhappy and very angry that Whirlpool will not stand behind their product. The last customer service rep I spoke to suggested she could send one of their repairmen and replace the motor at a cost to me of $299.00. So, after less than 2 years, I am offered an amount to pay of about half the cost I paid less than 2 years ago for the brand new washing machine. My home is full of Whirlpool appliances. I have been a good and loyal customer for over 30 years. I am very angry and upset with Whirlpool. Please explain to me why it is not reasonable for me to trust and believe that a Whirlpool top loading machine that is well cared for and not abused in any fashion should last longer than 2 years? Is this being a loyal Whirlpool customer gets you, I should have purchased the extended warranty”? We are talking about a motor here, not a fabric or bleach dispenser that breaks. Back in the day GE appliances were made to last and last - the only one I have found close is Whirlpool. They have style, dependability and long lasting products. My washer machine has a ton of features and I didnt pay more for any of them.

I purchased a Fridge/Freezer just over 4 years ago. It was an expensive one. The gas is gone and they cannot re-gas it. If I was told this when I was purchasing it I certainly would not have spent this money. I rang the concessional team. They would give me nothing towards a replacement as they had not one in stock, POOR Service for a big company. I am in business and this is not the way I would treat my customers. This has certainly turned me away from purchasing Whirlpool Products, despite having a industrial washing machine and Dryer. For the record, I had 2 servicemen to check it and they were most pleasant. It was beyond repair.

This Whirlpool Duet washing machine is the worst purchase we ever made. The first problem I had was that after delivery, the balancer broke and it had to be returned to the store. 3 months later, my computer board went out. I have to wash twice because my clothes are not clean. 2 months ago, my hardwood floor was almost ruined because water was pouring out the soap dispenser because a sock sucked in the rubber hose and stopped it up. Today, Im unable to use my machine. Whirlpool should recall this machine. It’s too expensive and not worth the money. I do not recommend Whirlpool and will not buy any Whirlpool products again and will replace all Whirlpool products in my home.

On its 1st year, the water pump went out. It cost $200.00 to replace it. On its 2nd year, the circuit board went out, and it took $300.00+ to replace it. On its 5th year, the bearings went out and cost $250.00 to replace it. I bought this for $900.00, and I already have paid $750.00 plus the price of purchase which makes this washer $1,600.00. Whirlpool should compensate all of us who have worked hard and have purchased this product! I will never purchase from Whirlpool again. I can’t afford them. I should get a refund from Whirlpool. This Cabrio washing machine is really frustrating....... It goes off balance all the time. It does not matter if you have a full load or partial load, I know it has a tendency to go off balance, so I try to put the clothes in evenly. BUT it doesnt matter, it goes off balance. When the washer is downstairs, it gets to be a pain. The lid lock is a pain also. If you forget to put something in the machine, you hit pause button then you have to wait forever until it unlocks, and wait forever to unlock when it goes off balance. When it doesnt go off balance, it washes everything just fine. But if I knew what I know now about it, I would have never bought it....... I would recommend a different washer and check the reviews, which I didnt do. :(

Purchased a washer on 8-29-2010. On 2-15-2012 transmission went bad. I called Whirlpool, they will not stand behind the product and wanted me to buy a warranty and then they will come out and repair the machine. Great customer service. Build a bad appliance and get the customer to pay for warranty. Do not purchase Whirlpool.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet machine in September 2010. About a year ago, I started noticing tears and stains on clothing. Luckily, it was always on a washcloth or blanket, nothing special. Last week, it tore a 3-inch hole in my good jacket. I was not happy! My husband and I checked inside the drum and all around the seal. Neither of us found any rough edges. I thought if I called Whirlpool, they might have had a recall. They assured they had never heard of this problem. REALLY!!! Just look at all these e-mail complaints. Back to the old top loading - basic wash machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool!!!

Our just over 1 year old Whirlpool washer died completely last month (mid May). After calling them and being directed to the extended warranty dept (which we ended up purchasing), a repair guy came out and told us it was our main controller board. Three days later, he returned with the board and nothing. We were then told it was the user interface. They were on backorder until June 5, which means our machine would be out of commission for three weeks. I just received another call informing us the part was now on backorder until June 15. Whirlpool, on what planet is it acceptable for your appliances to be out of commission for six full weeks? Never again.

Cabrio top load HE washer - Ive only had the washer a couple of years. My husband bought it for me thinking it would make washing more time efficient and energy saving. Lesson learned! After struggling with this washer for the past year, I was told today that to repair it, it would cost around $800 or I would need to buy another washer. The washers bearings and tub need to be replaced and it will not spin properly or at all. Previously, I have owned washers for over 10 years each. This was definitely not a good purchase. After reading all of the other complaints on this site, I understand that I am not alone. It was also mentioned on one complaint of the possibility of a fire hazard with this washer. Whirlpool should be recalling.

I love my Whirlpool. Were a family of 3 with a pet dog. Its handle one childs work uniforms and the others sports uniforms (yuck). And then theres my work/weekend clothes. Its very reliable and it gets the job done. We have no complaints.

I used the Whirlpool website contact form, and described an issue I have with the Cabrio washing machine. When the form is submitted, it states that the company will respond in three business days. Two weeks later, after no response, I submitted a second contact form. It has been five days, and I still have not received a response.

I bought a Whirlpool CABRIO washing machine. I was assured it would do large & bulky. I didnt realize that being so called energy efficient meant that it didnt put enough water in to get my clothes saturated! On large loads or bulky items when I put in my laundry detergent only to find out I had to try to wash them again. Parts of the clothes would still be unwashed & dry after going through a whole cycle! After washing the clothes that did get clean comes out looking like I took them to a stream and washed them on rocks. After taking care of my clothes so they didnt look as old as they were, they are now faded & old looking. I hate this washing machine!

I thank the folks at Whirlpool for building a washer (Cabrio tub bearing failure) that lasted 22 days just shy of four years, better than the Whirlpool Duet that lasted 14 months, tub bearing failure also. Now I have high confidence that Whirlpool pre-engineers failure into every washer they build.

I had my washing machine for about 10 days before it stopped working. I did about 4 loads of laundry. We have had 3 repair people come check it out, all referred by Whirlpool. They each had a different theory on why it wasnt working properly. Im now waiting for parts to be delivered and then service to be scheduled. When I contacted customer service, I was told (after waiting on hold for about 1 hour) that it was customer misuse. Ahem, first I heard that, and I think I know how to use a washing machine. I asked to speak with a supervisor. More waiting. Tina (#**) told me she will contact the service company about the parts. I told her to please conference me in on the call because I want to hear the outcome (and I dont want to wait another 1+ hour to reach customer service again). She put me on hold and then disconnected me! Really, all this time and 3 service people... Would be cheaper to just replace the machine altogether. What a headache!

This Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine just does not do the job. It smells inside and does not get clothes clean, just normal everyday laundry. I usually have to put them through twice. It is supposed to be a water save, but I dont think it uses enough. I use minimal he detergent, yet you can see detergent residue on the clothes after they are washed, I think because there is not enough water running through to rinse clothes very well.

It goes off balance, frequently. It is moldy and stinky. I wipe it out, use a cleaner and leave the door open, but it still stinks. I am getting rid of it and buying a Speed Queen top loader. I am extremely disappointed in the front loader Whirlpool.

I purchased a top load Whirlpool washer from Lowes 2-8-12. It got so it wouldnt rinse. When it came to that cycle, it just skipped it and went directly to spin. I dont know how long it was doing this before I caught it. A repairman came out said I would need the equivalent of a motherboard that would cost $330.00. Needless to say, couldnt afford that amount for repair. So I purchased a very nice used Amana for $100.00. I always thought Whirlpool was a top of the line product. This has changed my mind. If it wont last any longer than 5 years I dont want it. There are just the two of us and we are retired so the machine was not overused. I am so disappointed and angry about this.

I have been buying refurbished appliances and this one we bought it brand new. Its a great buy and it will last a while. It does a good job washing and the clothes come clean and almost dry to the touch.

I am a fan of Whirlpool and I think the issues I have with this Duet machine is more because of the style but who knows. This is a front loader with lower water usage. It would have never gotten my sons sports uniforms clean. Never. The gasket around the front loading window frequently clogs so water doesnt drain. And perhaps worse, the drawer where detergent goes stays wet so it had gotten moldy and I didnt realize it. Now I remove the drawer after every wash so it can dry and I leave the loading door open as well. That just seems like a major design flaw and health issue.

Im on Whirlpool Cabrio washer top number 4. Well over $300.00 each, and washer doesnt work with a broken top. I sent a letter to Whirlpool telling them, NEVER again Whirlpool and my reason is the 4th top in 6 years. I received a form letter back... apologizing for a delay in response and, we hope you enjoy the rest of your day, lol. They dont get my level of dissatisfaction or better just dont care. Never again Whirlpool.If you search Cabrio Washer tops you can see thousands of dissatisfied customers... and still Whirlpool has the arrogance to say, occasionally failures do occur, but we can not explain. Really is your engineering that bad? A high school kid could figure out that the spring is to strong for the plastic housing and over time the plastic cracks. Really Whirlpool? A multi billion dollar company? Never again Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer Model WTW6500WW1 Ser C02670098 Type 580 is the worst appliance I have ever had. All the bad comments from people are all true! The washer leaves clothes wet. I get F1 error code or it just locks up and I have to unplug it and plug in again, twists clothes up and doesnt get clothes clean. I have always bought Whirlpool appliances because they were good but this washer has changed my mind about Whirlpool.

This is a horrible washing machine. All the clothes (and I mean small loads, medium loads, large loads) come out twisted and so wrinkled. I have never seen anything like it. I dont machine dry many items and so everything not dried that way has to be ironed. Also, there is white residue of some kind left on the clothes so the extra rinse must be used. How is that energy and water-saver sufficient? Again, the government EPA in its brilliance has screwed up another product. It also takes much longer to wash clothes, again, energy efficient? After reading the wasted time on other reviews of talking to Whirlpool, I didnt even bother contacting them. HE front loaders (which we had a Samsung that lasted 1 1/2 years before breaking down) and replaced by this top loading HE, are the worst. Give me back my old fashioned washer.

I suppose the idea was good - less water. However, when you are washing clothes, water and agitation are key. Without an agitator, clothes are just spun around with water and detergent. This washing machine (WTW4950XW2) couldnt clean any dirt off clothes. Clothes go in dirty. They come out damp, wrinkled, and dirty. I got this washing machine free from my father and am thinking I got ripped off. No wonder he gave it away. Piece of junk.

New whirlpool washing machine 2016 - This washer is supposed to be smart, but it NEVER fills up with water! I always have to fill a bucket with water and throw it in the washing machine. My clothes do not come out smelling fresh and its not the detergent to blame, its the washer! Im so disappointed with this product. Whirlpool should stop making products.

We bought a Whirpool Cabrio, model WTW62000W9, and it is junk! We bought higher-end thinking that it would last. It is less than two years old and averages three loads per week. The transmission is out. It needs to be loaded on the boat back to China.

The machine pass all the cycles but the clothes are only very wet and still dirty.

I purchased a washing machine FS65 on 10-30-2005. In Oct. 2009, my washing machine developed some fault so I contacted the Whirlpool service center and got it repaired. Again in Dec. 2010, the appliance became faulty and so I contacted the service engineer to attend to the machine. He repaired it and I paid 2500/-. But the very next day, my appliance showed the faults again. It was rectified with replacement of PCB and I was charged 2786/- on 01-20-2011. Again on 09-04-2011, the machine became defective. On the call to service center on 09-05-2011 and attended by engineer on 09-06-2011, I was informed that PCB is defective. I failed to understand that the PCB replaced in January was of what quality that it has to be replaced now after such a short span of time. I feel that this is clear cheating with me.

My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets about one year after purchase. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent out a service person, who ran a diagnostic test on the washer and said it was fine and I should learn how to wash clothes and load the washer, etc. The barrel of this washer has little holes and I believe that when it spins the clothing, some pieces may stick in one of those holes causing tearing. The service person also told me that my clothes were old. I guess that means this washer is not for washing old clothing. The tears in my clothing are in places that are very unlikely to tear, like the back of my jeans behind the calf of a leg, about half way up from the ankle. There are holes in my tee shirts at the bottom of the back. Even if I were a smoker, which I am not, I would not likely burn holes in those areas. Whirlpool obviously does not want to accept responsibility for this problem, even though there are many other people having the same problem with this type of washer.

I have been using this brand for many years. My first washer lasted for 30 years..so I will stick with what I know is reliable. It is a great machine. Very simple. I dont need anything fancy. 3 different cycles to choose from.

This washing machine is terrible. It barely cleans my clothes and frequently gets off balance. I am now on my second repair call in less than 3 years. (I bought the unit in the summer of 2013. It is now the winter of 2016.) The last repair guy tried to blame me, suggesting that I was filling it too much and with heavy materials. Last night, I washed 5 or 6 doggie towels. Not even large, bath sized towels. And the whole thing just stopped. It wont spin and wont unlock. What a piece of crap.

My NEW Machine Top loader HUGE drum. Have problems with clothes not looking like they’ve even been washed, Spun so hard they are twisted all to heck. And white stuff - my oxy powder maybe? Not dissolved. My old machine was a Kenmore 30 yrs old. Thought I’d be able to trust whirlpool but not sure. Am I missing something in the loading process. Seems to read something bout not Covering the knob on the bottom. Is this true?

I paid over $1,000.00 for a washer based upon previous experience with Whirlpool appliances. I am single, over 65, and use this machine infrequently, as compared to when I had children. The only thing Whirlpool is offering is another of their machines at a discounted price. I value principles more than dollars. I refuse to give them another $600+ as a reward for making junk which apparently should have been recalled. The part I need is not available any place Ive found online. And it completely controls the power to the machine. You cannot open the door, you cannot turn it on. I had two service calls to discover this part is not available.

I do like washer to be efficient and quick at what they do.. I also like the way they are economical and use less water he energy economical it what I need.. I do like clean clothes. Right now I am using an ancient one and the sound drives me nuts..

This Whirlpool washing machine is incredibly annoying and slow in everything it does. First off when you press the START button it takes 2-3 minutes before it decides to do anything, like maybe add water (except click, click and more click). If you have pressed the start button and you want to stop it to add something... again you have to wait almost 2-3 minutes before the lock is released and you can open the door. I am at 2 hrs and 15 minutes as I write this on the LIGHT WASH cycle with extra rinse and its still going. I have never seen anything like it. Cant imagine how long a HEAVY CYCLE takes. Cannot even try to measure the time. I put the load in and go to work and hope its complete when Im done 8 hrs later.We had a Maytag for 15 years with no issues (other than a drain hose cracked and had to be replaced) and it was time for a new one with a move to a new place. The sales associate convinced us this was the best machine at the time... Well what a mistake that was. There are no complaints about the actual washing. Everything comes out clean but I suppose taking that long I cant imagine why it wouldnt. I certainly cant recommend a Whirlpool washer to a friend, because I dread the thought of doing laundry at this point.

Thank God for this website and Frank of Dover (postings on Feb. 11, 2013 and Jan. 7, 2011). We just had exactly the same horrid experience with the lid on our Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7800XW. Just as with Frank, our home warranty provider first accused us of abusing the machine. I merely printed out Franks comments and description, whereupon the home warranty provider reluctantly agreed to replace the lid. We also bought an extra lid and are keeping it in our attic for the next failure. Do not purchase this washer!

How I wish I had read this board before purchasing! This is the worst washing machine made. Put your clothes in the sink, add water to cover two thirds, add detergent, slosh around slowly for a few minutes, wring and remove. You have replicated a Cabrio wash! I have complained repeatedly, had a repairman who assured me it was working properly (as designed, too little water, too little agitation). I was a lifetime Whirlpool client.

I bought this washer thinking it would last me for a long time. And now it wont wring out my clothes and I just wanted to say I am disappointed in my Cabrio Washer.

I purchased this washer and at the same time had gotten a puppy, I only mention the puppy because she is the one who kept getting blamed for what was happening to my clothes. I NEVER thought that it was my washing machine that was ruining my clothing, until I finally opened the door one day and my shirt was hanging from the top of the washer opening, and suddenly it all made sense! I kept thinking that the puppy was chewing my clothes but it is actually the washer that is sucking my clothing into the opening of the washer and when it gets stuck and the rest of the garment keeps spinning, it creates a burn in the clothing. I found out the hard way that Whirlpool will just blame the consumer for not knowing how to properly follow washing instructions, or their instructions, and will not take any sort of responsibility for it being the washer itself! I wrote to them after my father passed away and I washed his sweater in the washer and it got caught in the washer and ruined it. They blamed me for it and basically said I did not follow the proper washing instructions. I have been washing clothes for over 20 years and I know how to do laundry. I have read every inch of the owners manual and NOTHING tells you that during the wash cycle, your clothes may become sucked into the opening and ruined! So I went online to see if this was happening to anyone else and I was amazed at how many people this is actually happening to! There should have been a recall on these washers and I am amazed there has not been some sort of class action lawsuit.

Awful customer service. We bought a washing machine in 2010 and it has shredded a ton of clothes over the years. I called customer service to see what they could do to help me with this problem. After about 45 minutes of trying to get more than a service that I would have to be responsible for, the supervisor offered me a new washer at a discounted price. I went online to compare and found out I could purchase the exact same washing machine at home depot & best buy for $50 cheaper. I called back to see if there was anything they could have done and they would not budge.Shame on you Whirlpool. You have lost a customer and I will make sure no one I know buys one of your products ever again. I cannot believe that you would not make any accommodations for us. We bought that washing machine with the intention of keeping it for 15 years. It has cost us countless amounts of blankets, shirts, pants, etc. I cant believe you wouldnt help us after all the money this piece of junk cost us.

Without being too critical, I would not recommend this washer for medium to large loads or for throw blankets. I have to wash throw blankets 2 to 3 times to get the entire blanket wet even on deep water cycle. I would not buy this washer again.

Soon as warranty expired issues with product. This should not happen. Made in America, washer making too much noise. Products cost more but poor quality. What is this company going to produce? This is the world we live in.

I have a Cabrio washing machine that is just barely two years old. I have already spent over $500 on repairs/service calls. The first repair was the drum which cost $300 + to repair. Typically, my experience with washing machines is I buy a new one after years of service simply because I want a more updated model. I just bought a different brand to replace the Cabrio as it has another broken hinge (one rusted out. How bizarre is that?) And it wont work on some of the choices for cycles. The first time I called whirlpool, they were totally unresponsive and told me there was not any problems with the machine even though the part I needed was on backorder for three weeks. I have never been so frustrated with a product I thought was a reliable brand, not!

My review merely echoes the other 1-star reviews Ive read below, but Im including it anyway. We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes in 2013. Two weeks ago, a mere five years after purchase and shortly after our warranty expired, it broke. It kept showing the UL code and took multiple cycles to wash the clothes. Unacceptable. We called the technician; he came out; told us it was the bearing that busted; and quoted us $800 to fix it (I noticed below another customer was quoted $400 for the same issue). We told the technician thanks but no thanks and purchased a $450 Samsung washer. Our family will never purchase any Whirlpool product again. From their customer service to the performance of their machines-- its all very much lacking.

I was very excited about the performance of the washer as far as reduced water usage and reduced electric usage. After about 6 months though, I couldnt figure out why a lot of clothes, sheets and drapes came out with streaks on them. Very expensive to replace! Of course, the business I bought them from tried to get me to buy all types of fixes that had nothing to do with the problem and therefore couldnt answer me why this was happening. I am not crazy about a lengthy lawsuit. I am crazy about hoping the washer dies so I can go back to a less fancy washer that did the job better than this expensive monster!

They are good washers but they are overpriced. They have way too many functions for doing laundry. I know everyone wants their washer to do it all but the machines just can’t. There is no washing machine in the world that can sense a stain and pinpoint it and remove it.

Good washing machine for 3 year. 4th year onwards your repair cost starts increasing. I purchased machine for 24 k. Now my repairs costs are 25 k. Each time the service guy comes puts me a bill of 7 k and above. The complaints to Mr ** goes to deaf years as he never picks the call. Their visit charges also are more and never give warranty above 30 days. How will you feel when you have paid more money on services ce than the product. I have supporting hills for all.

I purchased a (second) Whirlpool washer (WFW87HEDW0) in October 2014. Since purchasing (and to this day), I manually dried the rubber gasket after completing my daily washes, knowing that mold growth was possible. I wash one to two loads of clothes about three to four days per week. During the first year, I did not notice any mold in this area and was confident that the manual drying and cleaning with Affresh was preventing mold growth. However, at the beginning of this year I discovered a little mold growth, which has slowly been increasing, in the inside lower lip of the rubber gasket. The image attached reflects mold in its current state. I was very surprise to see this happening since my diligent cleaning has been thorough and never ending. I even remove the soap dispenser tray to clean and air dry it outside of the washer and leave the washer door open at the end of the daily washes for extra fresh air circulation. This is my first official complaint about a Whirlpool front loader washer, even though I previously owned another (GHW9200LQ0) before this one and had mold growing on the rubber door gasket but, unfortunately, never officially complained about that old machine. Now, I dont qualify for the $500 compensation because I never officially complained three times within the first five years of owning the old washer. To my dismay, I did not immediately realize I had mold growth in the old washer. It was only until years later that a repairman told me that I had mold growth in it. In addition to telling me the price of replacing the rubber part and replacing a broken water pump plus labor would cost as much as buying a new washer. Before purchasing a new washer, I researched and read many reviews about Whirlpool and other brands before deciding on this new Whirlpool. I decided to give Whirlpool another chance and to follow their recommendations on the proper cleaning of the machine. Once again, I am disappointed and angry with Whirlpool and, now, have to figure out what to do with my current situation.

I purchased a Cabrio top-loading high efficiency low water washer thinking I was doing something for the environment by saving on water and electricity. After about a month, I noticed that my clothes especially those with stretchable fabric were getting larger. My husband kept telling me I was imagining it. Then the clothes would get all tangled especially the pants with ties on the waistband. At the end of the cycle, the clothes are stuck on the sides of the washer and I have to pull them apart. Even after drying, I have to iron everything even my pillowcases which look like they have shrunk they are so wrinkled. I recently bought some 100% cotton outfits and they are even more wrinkled and are starting to lose their shape. I am now noticing that the stains on the clothing are not coming out even when I use a spot remover and put them through a second time.Now I started to notice an odor coming from the machine and my towels and wash clothes have a sour smell. I paid $600 for this machine and after reading the reviews, I just want to replace it. I am now waiting for it to break down. My husband kept insisting I must be doing something wrong. When it goes into the spin cycle, it bounces all around and I have to push it back in place when it is done. I do not think the clothes are getting rinsed enough so now I put them through a second rinse and always put it on low spin. It doesnt see to matter, it sounds like a rocket ready to take off. Is it even worth it to go back to Lowes where I buy all my appliances?

Whirlpool Energy Efficient Top Loader - I re-wash at least 20% of all clothes because they have dark spots AFTER washing them, but NOT before! It is a moving target, wash out one dark mark; get another somewhere else. I bought great quality sheets that are permanently stained, because of this. No matter how you load this machine, anything with arms and legs gets entangled into a big knotted mess. It is difficult to separate them and time-consuming. This puts a lot of stress on the clothes, especially as the load spins. I also re-wash entire loads at least 4 loads because the clothes dont rinse properly. I bought a 5 yr. extended warranty and have had this serviced at least 4 times to no avail. THE PROBLEM IS IN THE DESIGN! I am POSITIVE of it. If you have these problems, as well, please contact me. I would love to investigate a class action suit. I am THAT mad.

Front-loading does not do good job of rinsing. The Whirlpool Duet will not last longer than 2 years. Whirlpool recommends that owners purchase a new washer every 2 years. Whirlpool suggests owners purchase new clothes each week to avoid washing. Any owner would be required to quit their job in order to wash clothes. The Whirlpool Duet front-loader requires 12 hours per load. This means that only 2 loads can be washed in a 24-hour period. Each load requires 10 rinse cycles to remove suds.

Problematic... constantly out of balance... and will Not spin out due to this.. Sensors are very sensitive... have to unload and reload.. Most times have to wring out by hand.. Definitely a defect of these machines.

After happily using Maytag washers at my old address for 30 some years, I moved to my current address and in 2006 I purchased a new Maytag. In 2010 I needed service. I was advised it had a bad bearing and was not advised to repair as it would cost well over $600.00. I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio top loading HE appliance.The Cabrio worked well until one day it made a horrible noise. Although it still worked, I called for service and was told it had a bad bearing and would cost $670.00 to fix and they advised against it. After the service call, it never worked again. I know things dont last like they used to but 4 years is ridiculous. I have been advised that Whirlpool bought Maytag. Is this what to expect from so called reputable companies?

This machine does not clean the clothes well, keeps an odor even after using Clorox (probably due to water inside that never leaves), and does not spin the clothes well. Every washing is longer than traditional washers and then I must use the spin-only cycle twice (adding another 30 minutes). I must also shake the inside of the tub to get the spin to work at all. The tech came out and re-calibrated, but to no advantage. Terrible machine and should be, as one viewer said, under recall, in my opinion. NOT WORTH THE MONEY -- and I am very disappointed in Whirlpool.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer brand new from Lowes. It did great for about 6 months when a terrible grinding noise started. Then it also would not spin dry the clothes - they would come out completely soaked. Repair guy came out and fixed it. Lasted for about 1 year - same thing again. Lasted about 1.5 years this time and now the loud grinding is back and my wife - who Ive heard cuss just a couple times in 20+ years - said, This ** thing sucks. The clothes are soaked. I cant stand this washing machine. So, Off we go to buy a new machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool though. Id give this machine 1 star because it does a decent job for a while but major repairs 3 times in five years is not what I deem an acceptable appliance.

A reliable machine at a very really good price. A nonsense machine that does a very good job at cleaning our clothes. Has a good number of features that make washing different materials easy and safe for their fabric types.

Bought this Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine 4 years ago not knowing it was a low level water washing machine. A man would have had to design this piece of crap. Not only does it not clean the clothes because the agitation on it is as slow as sloth. On top of that the clothes tie themselves in a knot when finished. If you don’t want the frustration of clothes washing, I would highly recommend you not buy this type, if you enjoy cussing then this machine is for you.

We have a Whirlpool Cabrio mod. WTW5600 XW2, ser. C12830447 he... H2O.. low wash system. Less than two years old. It does not get clothes or towels clean. I put 2 jackets in on bulky items and part of one of the jackets was still dry. They were two small childrens jackets. My husband and I wash as long as possible and on hot wash (which is not hot!). Should not take 70+ minutes to try & get normal clothes clean!Now the softener is draining into the wash with the detergent. Another service call. Learned you can only fill the softened bin half full or less. WHAT??? Our extended warranty is up soon and not sure what to do. We would like to get rid of this pile of junk but cant afford another washer bill. Also wouldnt want anyone else to get stuck with it. Its a shame a company cant put out #1 good product and #2 stand behind it. Bring all of the company production back to the USA or put out a better product and stop worshiping the almighty dollar. Im done with Whirlpool (which was the product to buy), but stuck with this washer for now until we are sure that the brand we buy performs as it should. What happened to the PRIDE in & RESPONSIBILITY of making a good product and standing by what youve made. As my hubby has said, if you have to buy an extended warranty, whats wrong with your product! Purchased a Cabrio large capacity washer. It NEVER seemed to get the clothes clean enough, and after the sensors and bearings went bad within three years (out of warranty of course) I gladly kicked it to the curb. I bought a Samsung that has been great. Id like to support USA made, but not when it is AWFUL.

Bought water heater from Lowes in 2016. 4 days ago I came home to find water all over garage and a burnt smell coming from the water heater. Whirlpools warranty department is absolutely horrible. I spent 3 days sending pictures of the water heater, circuit breakers and water on garage floor with cc sent to my husbands email account and mine. Each day I would telephone the warranty department and told that they never received pictures and they couldnt do anything until they received the pictures. I asked for a supervisor who wouldnt even come to the phone. Both my husband and myself received the pics and email just fine. A representative said they have firewalls and things attached so that they cant receive attachments and downloads. So I sent directly from my phone and they still claimed they never received. They refused to give me contact phone numbers for supervisors. Out of frustration I called the Lowes store where I purchased and a store representative spent 4 hours making phone calls trying to help. She was completely frustrated as well. I was told even though there is a 6 year warranty, I am to pay parts and labor and that the repair company for my area that Whirlpool utilizes doesnt even deal with Whirlpool parts so that whatever is needed would have to be ordered! Im on day 4 of no hot water, this is absolutely ridiculous. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product! This product was installed by Lowes and inspected by the state, not a DIY!

I purchased the washer 1.5 years ago. At about 9 months, the latch was in need of replacing. The washer was locked and would not unlock. That was fixed. Fast forward to 1.5 years old and the control board needs replacing. The washer stopped in the midst of a cycle, filled with water. The repairs are over $400 -- nearly the price of a new washer. Ive never had a washer to go out on me. I willingly gave away my previous washer for the purchase of a newer model and did not expect this fiasco. I will recommend against purchasing a Whirlpool washer.

Our 2005 whirlpool duet washer steel drum and plastic tub broke. My husband diagnosed the problem and opted to fix it to save money. The parts are under warranty but you still pay labor and technician visit running up to $250-$300. The plastic tub was obtained only if we paid for it $100 and the steel drum they sent under warranty. The plastic tub has a hole with a black plug and sensor in it. There is a discrepancy in the measurement of the old tub and new tubs hole that is slightly larger, therefore when installed a steady stream of water leaks out. I now have 3 plastic tubs as that was their solution, to send more of the same that did not measure correctly. An investigation was done to determine they were the correct parts. As asked we had a whirlpool technician come to verify parts were correct and being installed correctly and the parts sent would not fix the machine due to the hole discrepancy. Many calls were made to whirlpool and they continue to give me the runaround. They now are not taking their technicians information. The technician has given the information to 3 sales reps in the new england area and made several phone calls to whirlpool and no one is willing to give us a solution.

This is our second Cabrio w10550273a. The first one was just as bad as this one. It was replaced under an extended warranty we bought. This washer just like the last one constantly gives a UL code. Thought the washer and load are level.

Washing Machine Model WTW4616FW - I purchased this machine at Home Depot after I had to return my Samsung Costco machine that was recalled due to the glass top flying off. I was attracted to it by its simplicity in design and price. I have had it almost a full year and love it. I like that it has the deep water wash for over-sized items and a full-sized agitator. I was shocked that it was actually Made in America. I highly recommend it and I hope they keep making this reliable machine that gets the clothes clean. Awesome machine without the bells and whistles that I dont expect to breakdown. Way to go Whirlpool!

I bought the WTW4815EW0 Whirlpool washer. Worse machine ever! It’s take forever to wash a load, there’s no way it’s efficient when it takes twice as long to wash one load. It doesn’t sense the water level correctly, Its noisy, and after only having it 3 years it crashed on me. I refuse to waste money fixing the piece of junk and when I go to purchase a new one it won’t be a Whirlpool.

My $700 Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine just broke after only 16 months of having it. The error code that comes up is f 51. With some research, I found that these machines are notorious for breaking down just after warranty with an f 1 code for older machines and an f 51 code for newer machines. Whirlpool is well aware of the breakdowns and the defect inherent in these machines and still sells them with no warning or no recall to fix the problem. I contacted the company and they refused to fix it for free and I understand the fix will now cost me another $300 to $400! What a scam! I will never buy Whirlpool or any of their other products again!
