Model WTW4850OXQO. Purchased this washer in Nov. 2011. Two months ago the washer began making a loud grinding noise in the wash cycle, so loud it can be heard throughout the house. Called the dealer whose serviceman said it was the gearbox and it would need to be replaced. Cost of the gearbox $235.00 plus $165.00 service. Called Whirlpool in TN and was told that I didnt purchase their 1 yr warranty. What the hell is a 1 year warranty but me paying Whirlpool to fix their defective piece of crap in case it breaks in the 1st year. I owned a Kenmore that lasted 11 years, an RCA that lasted 12 years, and a Maytag that lasted 10 years. Never a problem til they died of old age. This piece of ** is breaking down after 3 1/2 years. NEVER buy Whirlpool! Also, the inside of the machine SMELLS. My wife has to use bleach or cleanser to get the smell out. Once again a company in the USA thats too big to care about its customers!

The Whirlpool range has worked effectively and efficiently for over ten years. We have experienced no problems. It is used several times a day to prepare meals and bake items. The cook top gas burners ignite easily, provide equal flame distribution, and the oven has an air blowing feature that makes cooking and baking much easier. One reason we chose Whirlpool was because this brands stellar performance history, its appearance, and its functionality. Overall, we could not have selected a better appliance for our use. We can unequivocally state that was and still is a solid performer for its cost.

We bought a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. Installed it, wife used it for two loads. The third time she tried using it the door sprung and it no longer latches. After two weeks of calling Whirlpool, we finally had someone come out to fix it. After the repairman took a hammer to the frame he stated that it had been dropped. He wobbled the dishwasher back and forth with his hand. He said the frame will never be correctable and we will always have problems. After another week we got a hold of Whirlpool and were told the repairman has ordered parts to repair the dishwasher. Whirlpool is hoping it will hang together until the warranty expires. If the dishwasher were fixable that would be fine. However, when the repairman who has years of experience in his job tells me it will never be right and will always be a problem, I believe him.

Here in Brazil, we use to have a very good brand of durable and reliable refrigerators and home appliances called Brastemp, and I was a very happy, fidelized customer of theirs. The time came for me to move to my new house. I gave my old appliances away to friends and modeled my new kitchen with Brastemp products. What I didnt know then is that Whirlpool bought the brand in 2000 and was selling their appliances over the Brastemp brand since.Whirlpool is clearly selling disposable appliances here. My vacuum cleaner failed after a week. My brand new refrigerator and laundry machines failed weeks after the one-year warranty and the dishwasher sometimes heats up and tips the 20A circuit breaker (suggested by the manufacturer), which is only for the dishwasher. For my complete surprise, my old appliances are still functional in my friends house. I got my old dishwasher back and I had absolutely no problems since. The vacuum cleaner failed again, this time 5 months out of warranty. In all fail cases, the price to fix it was about 70% of the price of a new one, which I took as a sign to replace them for something else. Good job, Whirlpool! You bought a nice brand, trashed it and gave the finger to fidelized customers you acquired with the new brand by replacing quality products with built-in obsolescence others. What do you plan to do next? Whatever it is, dont count on me as a customer ever again.

I bought the Whirlpool gas water heater less than 1 year ago from Home Depot. It does not work. The pilot light will not spark to ignite the gas. Customer service is never available when you call, you get a message machine. Going forward, I will never buy a Whirlpool product and I will recommend friends and family to boycott Whirlpool. The 6-year warranty is worthless. You cant rely on the warranty. You cant rely on the water heater. You cant rely on Whirlpool to stand behind their product. The water heater is junk.

I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher in 2008 from Best Buy and purchased the extended warranty through Best Buy. First of all, my complaint is not with Best Buy (model # DU1145XTPBA). I have had nothing but trouble with the unit not filling with water, being noisy, and other problems. And then, my intelligence is insulted by these independent contractors, who are supposed to be appliance repair specialists. I found that far from the truth in most cases. They have a list of patented things that the consumer is doing wrong: not having a hot water heater next to the unit, using too much detergent, not loading it properly, and on and on. They must think we are idiots. I always would run the water from the sink till it got hot before filling. And I am a miser so I use less detergent than what the manufacturer or the detergent package says. Anyway to make a long tale short, it started leaking last week, so I assumed the door seal or some other such thing. But lo and behold, the door is rotted out at the bottom. The black finish has bubbled up and the metal is actually rotting away. I am from up north and it looks like my old Chevy 2 Nova rotted out. I called Whirlpool and spoke with several people and supposedly someone in management. They were, of course, sympathetic but offered no assistance or explanation. They offered to send a factory authorized repairman to replace the door at more than the cost of a new dishwasher. Are we that stupid? They never offered me a voucher for a discount on a new unit, which I am going to have to buy. I would not have accepted it anyway, as my last few experiences with Whirlpool have been dreadful. I will never buy another Whirlpool anything. The name used to stand for a quality product that you could depend on. But now it is like most things are offered to the consumer in this throw away society. And as long as we keep buying inferior products and only expecting them to last a few years, I am afraid that is what we will continue to get. Be vocal and let them know how you feel, even though they are probably yawning on the other side of the phone. They are without compassion and could not care any less. They are just looking for a paycheck and have probably heard a hundred complaints like mine, so its water off the proverbial ducks back. But when its their own job in jeopardy, perhaps they will start passing on these complaints to someone who will be willing to listen. Its a very bad experience and I will never buy Whirlpool again.

We bought the washer and dryer set almost three years ago. Great sales pitch! Energy saver, extra capacity, low water usage, Whirlpool name and I thought we were getting great quality! Three years later I am disgusted, disappointed and am junking the washer. The dryer has a new heating element that we proudly fixed ourselves after the repairmen told us that these were meant to be throwaways. We just thought he did not want to work on it. After watching several YouTube videos we had it apart and found the issue was a cracked heating element. We ordered a new one for 100$ and spent another 4 hours putting it back together. If we had to pay a repairmen to do all that the bill would have been the price of a cheap new one. Fast forward three weeks and now the washer quit and it can be one of at least 15 problems. After reading all these reviews we have decided to toss it as junk. It took forever to was a load of clothes negating any energy saving! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off all of us hardworking Americans selling us junk. At one time the Whirlpool name meant you could count on a quality product! If Whirlpool really wanted to do the right thing, they would stop selling these immediately and give customers a credit toward the purchase of new washers and dryers!

I have the 4.3 cu. ft. washer. This washer worked OK, but the lid lock does fail after about one year if the washer is in an environment where moisture may be present.I noticed the lid lock not working all the time about two months before the warranty expired. If this happens, call the warranty department immediately. After checking the ground wire and resetting the washer power over and over again, the lid lock finally stopped working completely. Here is how to fix it:There are two screws on the back of the top portion of the washer. Unscrew them from the silver straps. The washer lid will now push forward and up and off. Prop it up with a stick.Unscrew the two screws on the lid lock and start taking it apart (after reading this entire review). Be careful not to lose any parts and be sure to know where everything goes for re-assembly. Take pictures if necessary. Take the lid lock completely apart including any small pieces. The plastic slide needs to be cleaned. It has a spring that may fall when you pull it apart. The metal contact points inside the lid lock mechanism need to be cleaned. Be extremely careful when pulling the red cover off of the housing assembly. Pull the four metal contact points completely out of the plastic assembly. Be real careful with the black plastic slide piece, the metal rocker switch and the switch actuating motor. Use a small file and rubbing alcohol to clean off any green or white corrosion. Make sure to check all contact points.Re-assemble and you will immediately notice the lock switch working better. Re-install onto the machine. Re-install the upper portion of the washer. Start your laundry. Repeat after one year or when the lid lock becomes faulty again. These points should have been made out of a less corrosive material. Poor craftsmanship. Would not recommend.

I bought my Whirlpool Duet set with pedestal in February 2008. I just had a tech here to figure out why my machine is so loud during agitation and that I cant hear anything else. He said its the drum hitting something. I never overload my machine - just normal use for 4 years. It costs more to repair the machine than to buy a new one. Now, after seeing this information, Im not the only one who has this problem with my Whirlpool washer. I am disappointed that there isnt anything else the Whirlpool company tech can do for me - just a receipt that shows the parts alone cost $600.00. Now, I have to pay about $50.00 just to get rid of what from the outside looks like a perfectly good machine.

We purchased our oven in February 2012. In April 2013, we began smelling gas. I called the gas company. They came within thirty minutes and determined the gas was coming from within the oven by using a gas detecting probe. The gas was turned off by the gas company. I contacted an appliance company who came out for $95.00 and used some type of spray looking device to check for leakage or bubbles to tell us we had no problem. Our warranty was only good for the one year. The appliance company ripped us off and Whirlpool was a bad deal. After reading of all the complaints of Whirlpool, I will not buy Whirlpool ever again. I will admit that the stove worked fine for the year. I was hoping for a longer life of this stove. Now, Im afraid to use it.

The wife and I are retired and when it came time to purchase a new washer, we thought we would spend the money and buy top of the line so it would possibly outlast us. So we went to Lowes and spent $1000.00 plus on a Cabrio. Within the first year, the control board went bad, replaced under warranty, now no matter how little or much of a load the wife puts in this piece of crap, it goes off balance!!!Of course as previously stated, customer service doesnt give a crap because we also saw no need for an extended warranty having made such a large investment in a washing machine that we thought was built with a high standard of quality, SHAME ON US, SHAME ON YOU, WHIRLPOOL!!! You have lost a customer who has been buying your products for a long time but will never buy another and will be warning everyone we can to do the same.

My contractor purchased a Whirlpool NU50T61-403 water heater at Lowes. After several months the gas valve stopped working. Whirlpool sent a replacement gas valve which stopped working after a month. When I complained they offered to send another replacement, which I declined. They also offered to have it repaired by 2 firms which were very poorly rated on Yelp. Whirlpool stubbornly refused any other remedy. As I needed to resolve this right away because tenants were depending on having hot water. I replaced it with another hot water heater. I purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer from PC Richards in January of 2010. The warranty was only for one year (the washer was new, not used). The model # is WFW9050XW. Anyway, the washer had to be repaired by PC Richards twice in the first year I had it. Once because the belt that makes the washer spin broke, then because the pump got clogged. Unfortunately, when you wash your clothes, your socks and underwear can get sucked into the pump. After that warranty expired, I purchased a warranty from my utilities company (PSE&G). I have had to contact them four times for repairs to this machine. The most recent problem is my clothes are still wet after the washer stops. I actually have to wring them out by hand to get the excess water out. When I contacted my utilities company about servicing the washer, I was informed that if the repair is more than the washer is worth they dont have to fix it. I canceled the repair and now got to the laundrymat. I figured if I wait until the end of the year, maybe the repairs wont seem excessive. I contacted Whirlpool about the problems and was informed that I should have been using a garment bag to wash my socks and underwear in. More or less the person I spoke with made it seem as though it was my fault the machine sucked up my underwear and socks. I, on the other hand, disagreed with her. I told her the washer should have been build so that it would not suck up these items. I was so totally pissed off I ended the conversation. I also informed her that I would not be purchasing any other appliances manufactured by Whirlpool or Maytag as they are affiliated. They obviously have no integrity when it comes to their product. However, I am totally baffled. Why do the Maytag machines work better and last longer than the Whirlpool machines? The washer I replaced was a Maytag. I had that machine for 17 years!!!!

I knew I couldnt be the only one with these problems. The reviews confirmed it. I bought my Cabrio washer in 2012. Energy efficient, no agitator to catch on clothes, Great. It took me a while to figure out that the machine was eating my clothes and not cleaning them at all. Oh, they smelled fresh. That HE detergent smells nasty. The machine ate the edges off my good towels, T-shirts, jeans. Brand new underwear (thick elastic) was stretched all the way out and pulled. Normal stains and dirt do not come out even with pretreating. I started running my clothes on the delicate cycle, prewashing stains in a bucket by hand and then putting clothes in mesh bag before running the load. They still came out dirty and ruined. When I run the loads, it still registers as not being that energy efficient on the controls. Id gladly trade it back for my old washer. I feel like I have stepped back in time to a time where you washed everything in a tub or bucket. What a waste of time.

My machine has been ripping clothes for a few years but I thought, initially, that it was a snap, zipper or hook causing the problem. I recently got fed up and found this: **. It makes it pretty clear that it is a manufacturing defect. I called their customer service centre and spoke to a supervisor that told me it is normal wear and tear and that perhaps the glass in the door had worn out. Yes, thats right, she said maybe the glass has worn out. They are offering ZERO assistance in what would be a $500+ repair for me. Admittedly, my machine is five years old and out of warranty, but to me, when the repair is to install an entirely new style of door so that the clothes no longer get caught underneath, it is a defect. 43 different models of their machines are included in this issue and it was identified in 2012, a year before my machine was made. Why didnt they correct it before that?

Last week dishwasher leaked. Set up repair with our local gas company that has service plus. Came today. Repairman showed me there is a hole in the bottom of the tub. Upon closer inspection it looks like the manufacturer drilled a hole that wasnt needed so they routed out a depression in the tub and must have put in some sort of plug or filler of some kind which now came out. I called Whirlpool and explained to lady about the defective tub. She said well if it had a plug of some sort put into the tub it would have fallen out before this. I said Well it didnt it just must have happened as it never leaked before. She said it is no longer in warranty. I told her this is a defect to me as if you drill a hole in the tub that wasnt necessary and then the plug failed that you put in to hide the extra hole. It is a defect not a warranty issue. Upshot is she wouldnt do anything about it. I told her I have always bought Whirlpool but if this is their policy its the last time I buy anything made by Whirlpool. After reading all the complaints registered here about Whirlpool I guess I am more than fortunate as my dishwasher (bought in 2006) had run great until their plug fell out (Great except for all the rinse aid that has leaked out for several years.).

I too have had problems with getting service and cant see spending $500.00 for repairs on a washer that cost me $653.81 to purchase. Whirlpool and Sears better take their head out of their bum before the completely decimate their customer base. Why arent these problems being fairly addressed? It says a lot that your original warranty is only a year and any additional warranty is cost prohibiting. Save yourself some money and frustration and buy the old fashioned top loaders with standard agitation. AND WHIRLPOOL CAN AND SHOULD BUY A VOWEL AND REALIZE THAT IF IT DOESNT WORK IT ISNT MORE EFFICIENT!!!

We purchased a Cabrio washer in August 2013, in early August 2014 we noticed that it was not getting all of the detergent out of the clothes (noticed it on the dark clothes after drying). We use less than the recommended amount of HE detergent and dilute it in the dispenser, also always use the extra rinse. We just had a Sears service man out at a $100 cost only to find out that he gets these calls all of the time and the machine is operating at the factory settings. After reporting the problem to Whirlpool all I got was we are sorry and a link to how to operate the washer. In the demonstration video it clearly shows that the water level never covers the clothes. I know Im old school but in my opinion the water should cover the clothes so it can properly wet and agitate the items in the washer. To say I am less than satisfied is a gross understatement. Im out the cost of the washer plus an additional $100 and after a year of ownership and contacting Whirlpool less than a week after the factory warranty ran out all I get is an Im sorry you do not know how to operate a washer.

In 2008 bought cheaper Whirlpool washer, had to return it to Lowes. ELLL DUMOH (me) buys yet another Whirlpool Washer from Lowes; a Cabrio. The Cabrio ONLY worked 3 years, and started having problems with not emptying or just continuing to drain and beep. The Whirlpool Customer Service lady is pitiful. Yeah... Whirlpool owned or bought out Maytag. My Maytag Washer (purchased a dryer also) was a disaster from day one. The previous set I owned (Maytag) was 20 years old when I decided to replace it. From day one, the washer literally walked across the floor while turned on (Maytag Performa). I had to sit there and virtually hold it down if I wanted to get my wash done. I called and called and they would eventually come out only to tell me that this was a substandard product from Maytag and I had better buy the extended warranty. After only 7 years, the washer completely stopped working and the dryer (Maytag) is falling apart. I purchased new Samsung washer and dryer and I absolutely love them. So you whine all you want about Samsung underselling you. I contacted you several times and all I received was lip service. I will never purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool washer and dryer and I’ll let all of my friends know about your terrible customer service!

On April 10, I bought a Whirlpool washing machine with a sensor. My clothes do not come clean. The dirty spots are still visible. I had three technicians come to check it out and after they just made the machine start, make the water run, and make the water empty, they confirmed that it was working normally. I have insisted on having someone come and just do a small wash and they did not agree because they are not there to wash clothes. I went back to Leon’s where I bought it and the saleslady told me that she could not do anything about it. I have been dealing with the customer service and the person has tried three times to get someone to come and check the washer properly and was insisting in front of me that I wasnt at all satisfied with the performance of the washer and still confirmed that the washer was working fine. They keep saying that there are no parts that need to be fixed or exchanged, so that means there is nothing wrong with the washer. I have tried all different kind of soaps. They were suggesting that I use Tide, which was the best performing soap. I used Tide or Purex - I even tried half a bottle of bleach - and it would not clean my clothes. The problem is the clothes are not turning, they just hardly moved with water that just keeps the clothes humid. I tried putting in more water with a bucket and when I push the start button, it would drain out all the water that it did not put itself. Ive called the consumer protection and they have advised me to take legal actions against the company and the store that sold it to me. They confirmed that whatever we buy, the article has to do the work it was made for; so the performance of a washing machine is to wash clothes. I even took a three-year prolonged warranty and the store told me that once the one-year warranty with the company has expired, then they could help me with sending their technicians and see what the problem was and they would take it from there. I have an account with the store and I have eighteen months to pay it off. So I was wondering if the saleslady did sell me an appliance saying that it was very good and that I should not have any problems with it. Can I take steps going against her for false advertisement? It’s a month now that my clothes are not washed properly and I need to rewash them by hand before putting them out to dry. The consumer protection office has been telling me that the store should be the one to finalize the problem with the company, but it seems that not even they can come to an agreement. Whatever steps I will take against the company and the store, what are my chances of getting my washer replaced? Whirlpool has been advised about me taking them to court and I got permission to do so. Actually, they invited me to go ahead and do what I thought was right. I do not have the money or time to waste on something that maybe I will have no chance to get anywhere. All I want is to have it replaced with another washer that would be more performing. If anyone has had the same problem and had their case solved, maybe it will give me hope to go on. Please, what is the best and fastest way for me to get this problem resolved? I do need a washing machine. I do need to wear clean clothes. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We purchased a brand new Whirlpool fridge & electric range. Tried the oven on 3/22/14. Turned it on at 350 for 30 minutes. Waited for the new smell to go away. Then turned the temp up to 375. My husband put a frozen lasagna dinner in. 25 minutes later the inside oven door window exploded into the oven and the dinner. Found out the outside window usually explodes. We were lucky. The dealer we bought it from let us exchange it right away. Filed a report with the CSPC and am trying to find out how to file a complaint with Whirlpool.

Three years ago I bought a bottom freezer Whirlpool Gold refrigerator from Lowes. Two days after it was installed, I noticed a pool of water on the kitchen floor. This happened again. I called Lowes and they brought out another refrigerator, same make and model, and took the first one away. A year later the same thing happened. I had it repaired - quite an ordeal for the technician. He had to order a part and found it difficult to actually get into the freezer. Now after a year and a half approximately the same thing is happening. I cant afford to continue the repair bills and dont like the inconvenience (what if this happens when Im away from home?). The pool of water is substantial - its as though the defrost is simply emptying through the front of the freezer onto my floor.

My dishes also have a powder coating on them after various cleaning cycles that I have tried. I have tried every detergent available. The repairman suggested a detergent, which I already tried. I see that I am not the only one with the same pilot problem. I just purchased this new model that came out last summer. I bought my new water heater in September and just this past weekend, it messed up. I have not had it for 8 months. Whirlpool sent out a technician yesterday and he said the assembly is not good and the pilot would not light. Well they sent me a replacement part and they are coming out today to install it. The funny thing was that the technician said, Oh, these are hard to work with. We have a lot of problems with these models and they just came out last summer. Its the on that has the little box and you push the pilot button in and hold it until the red light comes on. Anyway, he said he didnt carry parts for that one, only the old ones which last longer. The ones that have the black round circle that looks like a thermostat. I said, Really? Well the reason I bought this water heater is because my last one that I bought 2 years ago kept having the same issue. Whirlpool sent me the assembly with the pilot and all 3 times and would never replace it. I got tired of it always messing up so after having it for 2 years, we just dumped it and went and bought this new model. Here we are 8 months since we bought it and the same thing is happening. I am so furious. I am pissed off that they dont recall these if they are defective. Why do they keep selling them if people have problems? My cousin called me a couple of months ago and asked if my husband could check her water heater and its the same type I had and it was doing the same thing. I will never buy another Whirlpool water heater again.

My husband and I bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Series Washer and Dryer in November 2012 from Lowes. My clothes, especially towels, smell like mildew and mold since I have used it. I thought it was just me. I have even thrown some items away when they smelled so bad. I love doing laundry but this not being able to have clean smells was driving me crazy. I tried everything I could think of but to no avail. Finally in October of this year 2015 my washing machine began to make a loud noise. My husband said sounds like a bearing is going out. I immediately sought a repairman thinking that it would be a simple fix. $420 later I had a new bushing, bearing, sleeve, etc. The machine was still making noises even louder and my repairman came back, this time to the tune of $180. So far weve spent $600 on a washer that we gave a little over $800 for. Now I have a UL code showing up when my load is almost completely done and guess what? My repairman says he has yet another part that should take care of the noise but he wasnt so sure about the panel. He may have to do a little research on that. I think all I have is a repairman that is a parts replacer so we were forced to purchase a new washer yesterday and my Cabrio is sitting in my garage. If someone needs a boat anchor just please contact us. I wrote a letter to the corporate office of Whirlpool before I even knew that so many consumers were having problems. Two repairmen told me that the Cabrios were junk. Most of them belonged in the landfill. Whirlpool customer service called me and offered me a discount coupon on a new washer. I told them that I didnt think I needed another piece of crap. I also questioned them as to why they could foist these crappy machines off on the American public. They had no apologies whatsoever. While researching what brand washing machine to invest in, I realized that there were numerous complaints regarding the Whirlpool Cabrio. With as many consumers who have been taken advantage of with this awful product, why cant someone do something?

We just received our brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot. The delivery person started the washer and started the dryer and promptly departed. My husband immediately put a load of laundry into the washer, and he noticed there was insufficient water levels to adequately wet the clothing. Approximately 3 tablespoons of warm water were added at intervals of approximately one minute each. The water level never rose above 3 inches at the bottom of the tub despite setting the washer on the heavily soiled setting. After the spin cycles he removed the extremely damp clothing and it appeared that the machine had not properly completed the spin cycle and drained an insufficient amount of water from the clothing. He tried another load, and it appeared that the sensors were not working which regulate the water levels because most new machines use far less water. However this washer was defective. He then placed the clothes in the brand new Whirlpool dryer. The clothes ran for over five hours and never dried and the dryer never got hot. There was obviously something wrong with the thermostat. We are both disgusted and will never ever buy a Whirlpool product again. In addition because of the extremely poor response from Home Depot, we will never purchase an appliance from them again either. So sad that Made In America, which was on a sticker on the front of the machines, does it mean diddly squat these days.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer and dryer a couple of years ago and have disliked the washer from the first wash. I have followed the instructions on how to load the washer which, first of all, takes more time than any other washer I have ever had to load. Second, the clothes come out so wrapped around each other that its almost impossible to separate them. They are wrinkled to the point that the dryer cant even de-wrinkle them, and some have even been damaged. Third, the load doesnt smell fresh even though I have cleaned the washer as instructed. I agree with every negative review I have read on this product, and have been so disappointed with this purchase that I will never buy any Whirlpool product again.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator to match the other appliances in our kitchen. The unit was purchased in June of 2012. Two and a half years later, it quit making ice and would not maintain proper cooling temps. Not to mention the noise coming from the compressor. So we had a certified tech come out and he said that it was the sealed refrigeration system. He stated that he had seen this issue a lot with whirlpool refrigerators. He said that what they don’t tell you is that it is covered for 3 years but good luck with getting any satisfaction. The cost to fix it you ask? $700.00. Might as well just buy a new one. Took a shot in the dark and called Whirlpool customer service. Gave the girl my information and model number. I got the “Sorry, but your model number is not covered by the sealed refrigeration warranty.” Then I got the ole, “Is there anything else today?” Well, she got the wrong man on the phone this day. I asked her to give me a model number that is covered by the warranty and I will purchase that one. You could have heard a pin drop. I don’t guess she’s been asked that before. She starts to ramble and said, “Well, there are just so many, I could not possibly tell you. Some are and some aren’t.” (Remember that statement) You mean she can tell me that mine was not covered, but could not tell me which models were covered. Huh??? Long story short. I argued with her for an hour on the phone and she finally breaks down and admits that Whirlpool does not warranty the sealed systems on their refrigerators any longer because they are considered value brands. What are value brands you ask? I asked the same thing. I was informed that a value brand is of lower cost to draw people to buy the product. Remember in the movie Back to the Future when Doc Brown said he sold a nuclear weapon to the Libyans at a good price but it was just filled with pinball machine parts? Well, there you go. I get the supervisor on the phone and she has the I’m going to be strict with this customer voice. She basically blames me in the fact that I failed to purchase the extended warranty. You’re right, my fault. How dare I have the nerve to think that a one thousand dollar value Whirlpool refrigerator would last no further than two and a half years? My bad on that one lady. The end result; I was told that I could purchase a new Whirlpool refrigerator and be sure to get the extended warranty. Yeah, why don’t go practice falling down Whirlpool, I’ll be there in a minute. We bought Whirlpool Frontloader Washing Machine not over 1 month ago and it started to malfunction showing Ed1 error on its display. We contacted the service center and it was taking too long to have a visit from a technician. Then the technician, who also installed the unit came and checked the unit. He called someone from corporate office or from support team to ask what is error code Ed1 and overheard over the phone that this is a known issue on the brand. The technician said it is possible that unit will be replaced or only the motor. I contacted the brand support thru Messenger and requested to have the unit replaced, because again, the unit is not over 1mo old.I was advised it is not possible as replacement of unit is only applicable when the issue happened within seven days of delivery. STUPID ISNT? Policy is something unworthy for a product that is over 30k. And again, unit started to malfunction not over a month after it was first used. I would say we pretty much took care of the unit, we only use it twice a week. Placed it where it was perfect to put. Followed every advice given to us by the technician who installed it but still, it malfunctioned a few weeks after we started to use it. I am ashamed of the brand itself, we should have chosen Panasonic or Samsung instead not a dumb brand like Whirlpool. I certainly do not recommend the brand for a washing machine unit. Frontloader is a crap.

I purchased my new Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washer to replace a Maytag that had finally given out in the summer of 2012. I wish I did more due diligence, but with a toddler and a newborn, I needed a washer asap. I severely regret my $800 purchase from Sears. It is now February 2013 and the machine basically only runs on two cycles - Casual and Normal. All the others stop in mid-cycle. Sometimes, the items are still dry or partially wet so I need to switch to another cycle to complete the wash. This is not good for Delicates or when I wash Whites, Heavy Duty or Bulky items which is one of the reasons I purchased the model. The cycle stops when the items are soaked with massive amounts of water. So I then have to turn it to the Drain cycle and start over. After a day of washing one load, I couldve done it the old-fashioned way in my utility basin sink and hung it out to dry ... I dont have the time for this. I am going to make a formal complaint to Whirlpool and to Sears. I cannot keep spending nearly $1,000 for items that break within a year. These companies should be ashamed of their lack of quality. I shouldve gone with the Electrolux and just dealt with the price tag - I wouldve been much happier.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (Mod #WTW7300XW1) and Dryer in 2011. WHIRLPOOLS unacceptable customer service! Less than one year ago, we bought
WHIRLPOOLS unacceptable customer service! Less than one year ago, we bought a Whirlpool dishwasher, type ADP 4411 from Khoury Home, Lebanons leading retailer of household products. From the beginning, we were not really happy with the performance of the machine, which we felt was not cleaning as well as it should. But the nightmare for us came when ten months later, we came home to an electricity burning smell and smoke from our Whirlpool dishwasher, which had been off. Thankfully, our electric security system in our new apartment worked very well and shut off, so that our apartment didnt catch fire. It was a shock, but knowing that our machine was still under warranty, we contacted Whirlpool to let them know what happened. The bigger shock came when the company told us that the electric board is burnt probably because of high voltage when the electricity came too strong one time and that we have to pay for a new board $190 because such cases are not covered by the warranty! A Whirlpool manager said because the electricity in Lebanon is unstable, we should have unplugged the dishwasher whenever it was not in use - but its not really logic- the same thing can happen while it is in use (and of course nobody told us about it when it was installed)! We, like other normal people, do not unplug our appliances when they are not in use, and we are using in our kitchen a lot of other electronic appliances without any problems. The fact that Whirlpool is blaming us for a fire that could have had much more dangerous consequences is absolutely unacceptable. Unfortunately too late, we have read at the internet a lot of customer comments with these kinds of problems with Whirlpool dishwashers too. At last we got a $20 discount (!!) for the new board but on the service letter they wrote just that it had smell problems. Nothing about burning! A burning dishwasher should be for Whirlpool company a much more serious theme! The way it was handled is NOT a customer service, NOT an international service for a big company like Whirlpool and especially really NOT the customer service of a U.S. company!

HORRIBLE! I purchased a Convection Oven Microwave in Oct. 2010 and 3 months later, the microwave stopped heating! I called customer service and they replaced the magnetron and two other parts. Two months later, the appliance broke again with the same problem. They serviced it again. Today, it was broken again and the service technician stated that its the magnetron again. I called to get it replaced and they said Whirlpool doesnt replace appliances, they just keep servicing it. **! How can they get away with this!

Purchased a new home in Florida. Builder used Whirlpool appliances. For a year opening the refrigerator door has caused breakers to trip off. No matter what builder and Whirlpool do, breakers keep tripping. Cannot sell house with this issue. If someone was counting on electricity for a medical device they could die when refrigerator causes power to go out. Unfortunately, it looks like legal action is the only thing that will save our investment in the house.

We bought a house almost 10 years ago and it included a Maytag washer and dryer. About 5 years ago, we decided to buy the Whirlpool front loaders. What a mistake as the washer shook every time it ran. After several warranty service calls and days of vacation waiting for the service, they finally said they couldnt do anything. During that time I had been in contact with Whirlpool and asked for them to take them back. Of course they wouldnt. I asked for a swap for top load washer and they would need to also replace the dryer to match: still no deal. It took a letter from a lawyer to make it happen. They also bought back the washer and dryer stands which covered the lawyers costs. So shortly after I received the Cabrio washer and matching dryer, the lid is very heavy which I believe the lid spring broke. I refused to call the service company as I did not want to go thru that crap again. I also know I can fix it myself easier and without all the drama. I keep waiting for another failure but so far all is acceptable. Whirlpool is not the same company as they were when I made my living doing warranty service for Whirlpool! 30 years ago they were the best in the industry. The Maytag pair was giving to our relative and they are still working flawlessly. Unfortunately Whirlpool now owns Maytag. This experience has cost Whirlpool replacing our kitchen appliances. As much as I want to buy American, I will go with Bosch or LG only.

The dishwasher is quiet and seems to clean most all of the dishes even when there is dried on food remnants. Multiple cycles that allow for light, medium and heavy cleaning. Also the ability for air dry and minimum use of water. The size is appropriate for normal amount of dishes, pots, pans, etc. Stainless steel front with most of the controls hidden. I have always had good luck with Whirlpool products, with this dishwasher continuing with being a quality product for the amount of money spent.

Please do not buy a Whirlpool range, they are dangerous. The ovens when they shut down still let gas into the stove. My whole house filled up with gas twice. Whirlpool will not honor the replacing of this stove and give me a replacement. They will repair the range on what they think is wrong but will not put it in writing that it is safe. The fear of using this range after repair is not worth risk I will have to take since Whirlpool does not stand behind their product.

Same for the oven window glass - it is not easy to clean and keep clean.

I had my Whirlpool Quiet Partner 11 Portable Dishwasher for less than a year when it started leaving dirt, food particles, and white cloudy film on my glasses and dishes in the top basket. It got so bad that we started to wash the dishes twice but it would not clean the dishes. We called a repairman out to see what the problem could be. He checked everything and told us nothing was wrong with the dishwasher and to clean it with CLR. We cleaned it with CLR twice and the dishes looked better with the first wash. The next wash was the same with leaving grit and dried food particles on the glasses. I am now washing my dishes by hand if I want to clean dishes. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my dishwasher? I am ready to buy a new one but not a Whirlpool.

I bake a lot so my husband bought me a new gas range for our 54th anniversary. After the first few times I used the oven, I decided to clean it. I noticed then that there were some burnt grease spots and streaks between the oven glass door. After 2 years of use, it has gotten much worse so I decided to take the door apart to try to clean the glass in between the layers of glass but there are three instead of two. I cleaned the inside of the outer glass, but that didnt take care of the problem. Most of the stains are between the other two panes of glass. That, I cant get to. I feel that this is poor design and not sealed properly. I take good care of everything I own and I expected this range to last me the rest of my life but it is put together with cheap plastic parts that wont last long. It is the first new range that I ever owned and paid a lot more for it than any Ive had. I expected better.

After being a faithful Whirlpool consumer for years... I no longer have any faith. I purchased an entire kitchen suite. The side by side refrigerator Nov 2013. The first refrigerator was delivered with the side cabinet deeply dented in several areas. Another was delivered 4 weeks later. Silly me... I thought, Okay, no big deal... what could go wrong? I didnt take time off work again to receive the replacement. My son took delivery (never looked at it). I get home... the front of both doors looked like they had been kicked in all the way across! To add, the cabinet sides were textured (not smooth like what I ordered) and the door handles didnt match the other appliances. So, I called HDepot & called Whirlpool (only to be on the phone an hour each time due to high call volume. Imagine?). Then Whirlpool reps are talking to me like I am some sort of idiot... saying that the refrigerator was EXACTLY the same... not possible that the handles or sides were different!!! Because it was damaged (and I mean ridiculous! ) another 8 weeks for a replacement. Frig #3 arrives and I take time off to receive it. Ah, the right refrigerator... but again ~ handles dont match. Not POSSIBLE.. Ms. _ _ _ _... it is the exact refrigerator, those are the same handles. Hours and hours on the phone to HDepot and Whirlpool. Finally, HDepot rep has a WP rep at the store when I call, and bingo! Oh yes, there are two styles of the Exact same model. The handles are ordered... 10 weeks later I finally have matching handles! But, wait... gets better. The fridge has been loud from the start, CONSTANTLY running but, not cooling some areas and freezing in others. Then when you open the freezer it is like a burst of winter wonderland is unleashed in your face. There are sheaths of ice building up on the top of the inside door. Hmm, I think what is going on? The Whirlpool designated repair company comes out. Ah, well here is part of your problem. When the refrigerator was being put together they left a few thicknesses of blue packing tape between the door and the rubber seal in the freezer. The rep tried to fix it to no avail because the door was also warped. First they were going to replace the door. Waiting for another 10 weeks. Nobody calls, whats going on? Oh, never mind, or rather... that was never happening. I have spoken to many reps with Whirlpool, I have been polite with all. In turn, from most I get curt hard ball back. The offers to resolve this from Whirlpool have been ridiculous. I am sorry for my loyalty to Whirlpool, as it has not been reciprocated. I have had two more deliveries - both the wrong unit! I never thought there were others out there. What a mess. They should recall.

My husband and I purchased this washer in August of 2011. Within 2 years the lid broke because of it a cheap plastic frame on a heavy glass lid. At that time I researched it and found many people with the same complaint. Whirlpool would not do anything for us but the company that we purchased it from did agree to supply the part if we paid the labor. We did this and replaced the lid. Well here it is just right at 2 years again and the lid is completely broken and the washer is unusable. There is no way to bypass the lid issue which makes the washer completely useless.I called Whirlpool again and was told there was nothing that could be done and that because there was not a recall on the product, they would not be able to do anything for me. We have purchased a new Samsung washer that received excellent reviews from Consumer reports and we will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again. I cannot believe a company that old and as large as Whirlpool will not stand behind a faulty design and faulty made piece of equipment. It is very disappointing.

I thought this was a nice high end washer and dryer set but it does not clean even wet mud. The mud just smears onto other parts of the clothes. My dog had an accident on her blanket so I threw only her blanket in on deep water setting, this is a large capacity washer and not a large blanket, the accident was still on her blanket when the cycle was finished. I had to rewash for another long cycle. Maybe its because it doesnt have an agitator. I was worried about this when I bought it and I will never by one again.

Purchased new from Best Buy for over $1000. One or two months after the warranty expired the ice through the door malfunctioned, would only spit out crushed all over the floor then clog up. Didnt bother to repair it, just open the freezer. Next, the door would not seal right and frost builds up in my frost free. Also, the ice delivery wont close tight. Now the unit is about 3 years old and I just finished paying it off and all the door shelves are cracking. Contacted Whirlpool and was told by email politely, Too bad. You are out of warranty, but please buy parts from us and say nice things about Whirlpool because we so value our customers. Never will buy Whirlpool again and recommend you DONT.

Why do I have to select a star? This product deserves none. My experience with a brand new washer has been horrible. I purchased the washer/dryer Whirlpool set from Lowes on 7/1/17. The washer does not agitate and it makes a zooming noise for hours, I have to eventually shut it off and take my clothes to the laundromat. Technicians have come out 4-5 times to “fix” it and replace parts and it is still not working. I called Whirlpool today again and they want to send a technician out again. I told them I cant keep missing work to wait for a technician which is costing me money. But they don’t care. They should be ashamed of selling these manufacturer defected products and then simply refuse to take them back. I wasted around $1700/set on their defected washer and I hope they make it last as they will not sell another product it depends on me purchasing it.I am livid to see how cowardly these big corporations get away with treating the little guy so poorly. But, that is ok, Im in tears right now as I lost my hard earn money and will now have to buy a new washer/dryer set as yours simply don’t work. You just want to continue doing patchwork instead of taking the appliance back and researching what you did wrong to avoid selling these defected products to consumers. Very unfortunate. So if you are reading this review, please don’t buy their products. And big stores like Lowes and HD should stop selling this brand. I’m more angry at the way I’ve been treated by Whirlpool. Rita the resolution specialist made it sound like its my fault the machine wont work. Here is their # 1800-253-1301. If you want to ask any questions about their repair warranty.

We purchase a Whirlpool duet washing machine 4.5 years ago. Just recently the bearing went on the machine. Took the machine apart to fix and was originally told new parts will be delivered free of charge since this is a common occurrence. 5 weeks later and several phone calls, we were told the part is on back order and they do not make it anymore. Then they send an email to keep us as customers for 15% off. Ridiculous. How do you go from getting parts for free since it is a frequent occurrence to not having the parts at all and getting 15% off for a new product? Why would I want to stay with these false claims? Our dishes always come out completely clean and without spotting. I dont like having to get down into the machine and clean out the filter/trap, so I pre-rinse everything that goes into the machine, so that might help. Regardless, this machine does an excellent job. This is the Whirlpool Gold Series bought in 2013. It has numerous settings, such as delay, varying cycles, air dry, heat dry, etc. All the features work as expected, but like most owners probably do, I leave it set on the same settings all the time. It does what I want and does it very quietly. This is a standard, under-counter, full-sized machine. The outside of the dishwasher is stainless and the inside has a plastic lining. The controls are at the top of the front door, so that leaves the front completely clean-looking. Love it.

Apparently, Whirlpool selling all their rejected faulty washing machine in the market. The trick they are playing is the machine being sold with one year parts-labor warranty; They wont replace these machines with a new one because they know that these machine will never work, consumer will buy the faulty machine, obviously it wont work so consumer will call for service. The service guy will say that “oh! Machine needs a part and then the customer service will say “the part is being ordered”, “wait”, then the service guy will come with the part and after wasting some time he will say “Oh! The machine needs another part, and again customer service will tell the consumer that “you keep calling us”. One year will be gone! Bottom line – faulty machine is sold, Whirlpool made profit, buyer is robbed. I am one unfortunate customer who purchased Whirlpool Washing Machine which never worked as it is a faulty machine which should not go to the market at all; Whirlpool made money on my hard-earned dollars and I been robbed.

The washer wont finish the cycles and often wont start. When I press the power button, I hear the 3 beeps and after a while, shows the F71 error over and over. The information I gathered online indicates that many people have the same problem. The repair cost is at least $550 to replace the user interface circuit board and is no guarantee. This is ridiculous. How could GE sell consumers this kind of junk that fails to work only after 2 years. I had a top loader for 12 years with no problems, not a single repair call. I called the number on the front of my unit. The tech talked my husband through the restart process...not once, but on two separate occasions. We were told that because it was intermittent, something they decided Over the Phone, they could do nothing. They would neither send a replacement part nor a technician. By the time we had to call back two days later, restart was impossible. JUST to get the part, a specialty piece, we now have to pay for expedited shipping! And either install ourselves, or wait 5 days After Arrival (!!), to get the stupid thing fixed!
