Product Reviews:

I would like someone to explain to me why the 'control panel I.e. brains' of the dishwasher which is around water is so sensitive to WATER. My daughter is the owner of the house and purchased this dishwasher last summer (2016) and within weeks we were having issue with the sensors. This supposedly was not covered under warranty (it was a WATER ISSUE). So now a dishwasher which cost over 700.00 is a door stop!! Where is people’s common sense... yes I'm over 60 years old and very frustrated with the money that was spent for such an inferior product. Imagine having a dishwasher sensitive to water. The people who made it should give their heads a shake. Frustrated grandmother.

We bought the Kitchenaid Architect Series model # KDTE104DSS0 after much research for $800. 2 years later the motor is dead (typically lasting 10+ years) and KitchenAid will do nothing. The customer service rep got a supervisor but they refused to even help on the part cost. So now after spending $800 we must pay another $400 to fix. I could have bought another Bosch to last another 11 years (the last dishwasher in this house) but went with a domestic piece of garbage instead. I'm appalled that they wouldn't even give a discount on the part - instead tried to sell me a NEW dishwasher at a discount! I will never ever ever buy KitchenAid again. So disappointed in their customer service. I understand, things break - but own up to it instead of relying solely on us coughing up another $200+ at the time of purchase. We could barely afford the dishwasher and trusted that the brand would hold up. Obviously a mistake.

I have had my dishwasher for a long time. And it runs perfectly. It is amazing at making all dishes look sparkling clean. And it is big enough to put a whole cupboard of glasses into and still wash completely. I am able to put half of a cupboard of cups on the top rack and still have room for other bowls. And the bottom rack holds big pots and pans. And I also put plates too. I love the size of this dishwasher. I love the appearance of this dishwasher too. Even though its kind of plain. It is a white color and it's totally OK to me. I was going to get a stainless steel one but I have little kids in the house and I would be cleaning it all the time. The price of this dishwasher was very good as well. When I wash looking for a dishwasher to buy I didn't have a lot to spend. So I ended up looking at Kenmore and they had very decent priced dishwashers.

I have a Maytag dishwasher and the bottom rack has rusted out so that it can't hold dishes. The dividers break at the bottom. I was told by Maytag parts that "this is a common problem" and they're hearing from a lot of consumers about this, but "it will cost $196" to replace.I spoke with customer service who told me that "dishwashers only last 8 to 10 years” and since mine is 8 years old, I should expect that it would rust. That's unbelievable. They won't replace the rack, nor offer it at a discount.

Within 5 months my 850$ dishwasher broke. 2 months to repair and 15 plus hours on the phone. Warranty is cryptic. You must allow them 30 business days from when they order parts. Buy Bosch, wish I did!

I have had my Ascenta dishwasher maybe 6 yrs now, never liked the racks in it, it doesn't ever dry the dishes. Recently the soap dispenser is not opening making it needing another wash, 3 times in a row. It didn't open the last time I ran it. Does anyone know of any solutions to the dispenser not opening?

We just had the same problem as most of you have posted. The control panel malfunction. Model MDB7749SBM. Our issue started after only 18 months when the dishwasher would start on its own and/or cancel a wash on its own. I think this is a major issue if a home appliance can start on its own from the off position and run through multiple cycles. I think this could be dangerous if you are out of town. Our cost to replace the panel was more than 1/2 of the original purchase price. This is a major defect and should be handled by Maytag if they are a company with any integrity.

Scrapes on my brand new Bosch dishwasher. The outside is very, very delicate. I have already gotten 3 scrapes on the front panel, in just a few months. The front has no protection to keep this from happening and I now am very sorry I got this dishwasher from Lowe's although it does clean the dishes very well. Not sure if I can use appliance paint to cover these up or if it will make it worse.

I purchased a 2 drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher approximately 1 1/2 years ago. My contractors correctly installed the dishwasher and from the beginning, there were large pools of water at the bottom of the top drawer. Five service calls later and a call to (I use the term hesitantly) FP's customer service department, my dishwasher was supposedly fixed. Each time the repairman came, he found something he thought was causing the issue. When I spoke to customer service, they told me my contractors did not install the dishwasher correctly. I had my contractors come back to ensure they installed it correctly (this was confirmed by the repairman). Customer service refused to do anything for me (this was after waiting on hold for 45 minutes). My dishwasher no longer has pools of water on the bottom; however, the dishes are NEVER clean and I basically have to wash dishes by hand before putting them in the dishwasher. I called the appliance store where I purchased the dishwashers a number of months ago to again complain about the dishwasher. The salesman said he would follow up with FP. I again followed up with the salesman a few weeks later and again, nothing was done. I would never purchase a FP product again. I am now looking for a new dishwasher. The experience has been horrible and very frustrating. I would never recommend anyone purchase this product.

We purchased Maytag dishwasher model #MDBH989AW53 in January 2010. June of 2012 the control panel died. Luckily, we had the extended warranty. The service company came and replaced the panel. 3 weeks ago, the panel died again! The service company replaced the panel again. Today I got home and the dishwasher is completely dead! I am so furious!!! At this point, I may just have to bite the bullet and buy a brand new machine. This should NEVER happen to an appliance that is so new! What a laugh regarding the Maytag quality! It is the WORST I have ever seen in my life! Stay away from Maytag!!!! Buyer beware!!!!
