I am 72 years old and this Whirlpool Energy Star HE Washing Machine is just useless. It does not clean clothes properly. It always leaves a stinky washing machine smell which never goes away despite no matter what you do. A completely useless, faulty washing machine! Never ever buy a Whirlpool HE washing machine! Some websites say that you need to buy a washer fan at a cost of $69.99 and attach it to the back of your washing machine as this is the only way you can get rid of the smell. Who has that kind of money? Why is this fan not already included in this washing machine if Whirlpool is aware of the smelly washing machine/smelly clothes problem? This is such a joke! We would like to be reimbursed for our deficient Whirlpool Washing Machine or at the very least, have a recall of this inefficient, poorly designed washing machine. Report them to the Better Business Bureau and anyone else you think can resolve this problem - thanks!! - Unhappy camper

I bought the top-of-the-line Whirlpool top-loading washer and havent regretted it for a minute. This machine washes everything from the most delicate to the most bulky and heavy and does an excellent job of it. It saves about 1/3 of the water my rotary agitator washer used. What more could I ask from a washer. Incidentally, also purchased the largest front-loading electric dryer Whirlpool makes and never have to hold a load of wash until the dryer finishes the last load...a real time-saver.

I owned a Whirlpool water heater and the only thing I have with it is problems! The pilot keeps on turning off. Since I am a 64-year-old lady, I have no idea on how to fix things (widowed). I keep on paying for the plumber to fix it. It started with flooding all my front yard because of a faulty valve. I paid $165.00. After the pilot went off, I paid another bill to fix that. And it turned off and on again (lost count of times). Today, I found another pool of water (the valve again? ). What a piece of work! Please, can you help me? Im heading to the store to buy a new one, not a Whirlpool!

I just purchased a brand new home. I have an electric wall oven with the microwave over the oven. They are both built into the wall. Can anyone tell me why a massive amount of steam is coming out. It is really bad it makes my microwave glass so bad I can see through it. It is also making my cabinets so wet I have to use a towel to dry them. Plus I got a steam burn. Can someone tell me if this is normal.

Purchased a matching set, Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washing Machine and Dryer in November of 2012. After just over 2 years, Im stuck replacing the Washing Machine at my expense! The washing machine began leaking water out of the bottom of the unit and became extremely loud when operating it. The repair technician said it was a seal and bearing that needed replaced and the cost of repairing the unit would be cost prohibitive versus replacing the unit all together ($800+)! Originally paid over 2K to purchase these units and have them installed. I do not want to trust or rely on the Whirlpool brand again. I would appreciate any recommendation for a better quality, high capacity, HE washing machine brand to replace the Whirlpool unit with (Samsung, GE, LG)??

I purchased my refrigerator from a home improvement store in October 2013. We paid around $2,600 for it. About a week ago we had a power outage and the refrigerator never came back on. I called Whirlpool repair since it was still under warranty. The said it would be 9-2-14 before they could come out. Today they came, did not have the part but said it would be here in 10 days. We will be without a refrigerator for 3 weeks. This is totally unacceptable but what can I do?

Update on a report filed last 4/19/2012 regarding a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator. I originally described the issue as a fire in the relay/compressor which destroyed the compressor and relay. I eventually called Whirlpool and they agreed to send out a technician to perform a repair free of charge. The Whirlpool authorized repair person replaced the compressor and relay, recharged the system and all is working as it should be. Whirlpool covered the repair even though the refrigerator was manufactured in 2003 and I purchased it in 2004.

I bought a semi automatic washing machine from Croma Store (Gurgaon) on 03/09/12 Model no A-72H* and I regret to say that the water direction changing knob (to change water flow from agitator to dryer), has broken. The machine is not even 4 months old and the water inlet is broken. How can this happen in a brand new washing machine? You claim to have durable home appliances products and your machine does not last 6 months? Can you see that the broken piece is attended to or replaced at the earliest?

I bought a Whirlpool washer WTW4800XQ top loader. I have owned it for about two years and now it has tore up, the repair bill will cost almost what I paid for the washer. I feel it is bad business to sale something and it not last any longer than it has. No one should have to buy a washer every two years!!!! When it gets to the spin cycle it works fine and then all of a sudden it will beat and bang and if you dont get it stopped it will be in the middle of the floor. Bought brand new, Whirlpool front load washer and dryer, from Corbeil. Got both items home and connected and levelled (yes I took out the shipping bolts). Did my first washing and watched my new washer dance across the floor. Called Corbeil and they told me no refunds. Best they could do was to send out a Tech to check it. Tech came, changed the shock absorbers, a token act because the machine danced as much as it did before. Please for your own well being DO NOT buy this product and DO NOT buy from Corbeil. There are other products on the market that advertise items that dont shake.

Bought the refrigerator in december 2017. Called them 2 times already and just called them again on sunday. They are coming out friday the 15th again to fixed a leaking problem. The first time was the freezer was freezing up a lot of ice which they claimed it was the rubber on the bottom door of the freezer was not sealing tight enough. Second time the refrigerator was leaking so much water I was literally drying up water everyday and have towels on the floor to prevent my new floor from damage. Leaking starts again same problem. Completely frustrated now. Going to contact Consumers Affairs to see what further action I can take.

I bought a 6 year warrantied Whirlpool hot water heater Model N50T61-403, product number 0733318, at Lowes Home Improvement Center and for three years the pilot light fails to stay lit. I have talked with Whirlpool 1-877-817-6750, the number on the unit, many times. I went through the troubleshooting checklist and verified all requirements. I paid a plumber $150 to check it out and he said I needed a larger supply line and venting the closet door would help. I did this and pilot still goes out periodically. Whirlpool sent me a new gas valve and it cost me another $150 to have it installed. The plumber said everything is good. But the pilot is still going out. Called Whirlpool again and talked with them for 24 minutes. The woman on the line was telling me I needed a certain amount of oxygen for this 40,000 BTU model. She was giving me minimum requirements for square or cubic feet of house with 8 inch ceilings. Yes, she said 8 inch ceilings 4 or 5 times as we went over the requirements. I got so frustrated asking her what she was talking about and she hung up on me. I called back and asked for a supervisor and a different woman had me hold on, came back and said a supervisor would call me. I did get a call back and the supervisor wanted to send me another gas valve and a burner assembly. I told him the burner assembly is working fine and I have a new gas valve. I asked him to send me a $150 along with it to pay the plumber. He said they only warranty the parts. So, am I supposed to have $450 in labor plus my time in this product on top of the original cost? I said no thank you and asked him if he would accept this as a solution if he were the customer and he said this is not a personal discussion. I know his answer. I am never buying a Whirlpool product again. But now I need to buy a new, good brand, water heater to replace the Whirlpool piece of junk. Bad product, bad company, bad warranty. I got screwed by Whirlpool once but never again.

Then, the oven temperature for baking was found to not hold consistent. While pre-heating the oven for 350 F, the temperature goes up to 375 F, then well into the baking time, can drop to 100 degrees less (275 F). Oven feature is called accu bake. I thought I would research Google to see if others were having the same problem. I was VERY disappointed to see all of the same issues others were having with this high end washer. Pros: The refrigerator is large and roomy, easily adjustable glass shelving, and easy temperature controls for the refrigerator temperature and freezer temperature. Cons: the refrigerator is bulky and limits space in a small kitchen. The lower freezer door does not seal very well and requires frequent tweaking and adjusting around the door seal. Also, the freezer handle becomes loose easily and requires tightening fairly often -- which is a pain to get on the floor on your back (and a flashlight plus a special wrench) to tighten the handle.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # GI6SARXXF 04 Ice Maker - About nine months after purchasing this unit the ice maker began to stop working. I researched what the issue might be. During this time, the ice maker decided to begin working again. This occurred again about 15 months into ownership. At 19 months into ownership, the ice maker no longer works after approximately 5 weeks. Whirlpool will not allow me to purchase an extended warranty. I was told by a CR on the phone. However, she did offer a Repair +1 service contract that cost $345.55. I advised the CR that on the Whirlpool website, I was offered an extended warranty for 2 years for approximately $165.00. After waiting for her to check into my claim of being offered the extended warranty for about 10 minutes, she came back to advise me that no existing issues would be covered. In other words, my $2000.00+ Whirlpool refrigerator is so crappy that Whirlpool only offers a 1 year warranty. And unless I pay $345.55 and/or a service tech charging $129 for a trip charge only, I will not have a working ice maker. Additionally, the capacity for ice storage is extremely small, even for my 2 person household. At times, the ice comes out crushed even though the setting is for cubed ice. The ice shoot is great for taller glasses, but if trying to use a shorter glass, watch out! You will have ice all over your floor every time!

We called the repair company and they said they had fixed the problem. My husband called the Whirpool number and they said they would NOT do anything to help us. We purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washer, model #WTW6340WW0, and dryer unit 2 1/2 years ago. We did our research online; Consumer Reports got great reviews everywhere. We went to Lowes and was told that this set (washer/dryer) was the top of the line in top load washers, so we purchased it. Now 2 1/2 years later, our washer is out of service, bad power board is the suspect and maybe the pump. I have heard that there may be a class action lawsuit coming down the pipe against Whirlpool and would like to know more info if it is. We paid nearly $1,000.00 for the washer and like other complaints, we were led to believe that we would get 10-14 years service out of the unit. But that did not happen. I think Whirlpool, Consumer Reports and Lowes should all be held accountable for misrepresentation. I can assure you that all of their executives received attractive bonuses for misleading the consumer. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone, Consumer Reports nor Lowes.

Ive owned this Whirlpool, bottom freezer refrigerator for two and a half years now. About a year ago I began to notice water on the floor in front of it. I had the ice maker hooked up, which I never used, so I disconnected that. The problem continued. I discovered that the bottom of the freezer compartment would fill with ice and once full the next dose of water would flood the surrounding floor. I have cleared the ice out, on a weekly basis, but have still had the water flow onto my floor. Its a daily thing now as Ive gotten tired of pulling the unit out and removing the ice build-up on a weekly basis. My replacement refrigerator will not likely be a Whirlpool of any model.

I purchased Whirlpool Washer WTW4815EW on December 29, 2015 for my tenants apartment and by October 7, 2016 it was not working. I called Whirlpool for service since the product is under warranty. The closest appointment was more than 2 weeks out. On the appointment date the technician called me and said he was on his way to my house which is more than 30 miles from my tenants apartment. The technician said he could not service the tenant area as that was a different group, so we rescheduled for a week later. A week later no one shows up, so I rescheduled yet again for November 3rd and drove myself to wait for the service person who was supposed to be there between 8 am to 12 PM. At 11:40 I saw there was a 10:36 am Whirlpool attempt to call me but no message was left. When I called back they told me the technician called in sick and they called at 7:30 (my iPhone indicated 10:36 am). Now they say someone will come on Saturday November 5th. It will be one month on November 8th with no working washer. While it is bad enough the washer stopped working in less than one year their service support is even worse than the product.

Now a year after the same problem occur. Whirlpool convinced me to buy and extended warranty for $268.00 and scheduled service with Platinum Factory. Took a day off work, then they call me to cancel the appointment. I will advised people not to buy Whirlpool appliances because that is not the appliance I have with them. All whirlpool appliances have a defect. My refrigerator, my washer and dryer, my microwave all have issues. Most of the whirlpool at all. Services agents are rude and not professional. One agent from Tennessee had the nerve to tell me I have to lose money to get services right. When asked to cancel service plan I was told to write a letter to get my money back. Whirlpool and their extended warranty is a ripoff! I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator not even two years ago. It has stopped working 4 or 5 times, causing us to lose all our food. When it is working, it makes an awful noise. I have renewed my contract with A&E due to the fact that the frig is a lemon; which A&E is a joke as well. I contacted them 2 weeks ago about the frig not working again. They stated they could not come until Sept 18th, a month later. Come on. Really. They are a ripoff as well as Whirlpool appliances. False advertising is against the law. I also contacted the merchant where the frig was purchased in Hazlehurst GA, who does not care one way or the other. If whirlpool was as great as they seem to think their appliances are, they would replace this lemon in my kitchen. We are elderly and are not able to keep dealing with this issue. I would never ever recommend a Whirlpool appliance to anyone. As a matter of fact, I will tell everyone I know not to purchase one; due to the way your company has treated me and my wife.

Am posting in regards to a brand new dishwasher that I purchased the first part of February 2020 from Menards. The dishwasher I bought is Model # WDT730PAHB and Serial # F94519386. I had the dishwasher 10 days and it stopped working after running only two times. I checked the breaker box and all electrical connections to the machine and it was getting electricity, but would not turn on at all. I called the store to return it and they only have a 7 day return policy. Since then Whirlpool has been contacted and I have had two service calls from Whirlpool. The mother board has been replaced (which I waited two weeks for the part & five hours for a service man) and still it will not come on. Now I am waiting on a wire harness, ordered on March 4th or 5th and still not here. I completely understand wanting to fix a broken machine, however this was a new dishwasher that only worked for 2 washes. I have now been without a dishwasher for almost 2 months, which in light if our current world situation isnt a huge deal, however this is a time when sanitation is very important. I feel like Whirlpool should offer to replace my new machine with a new machine and not something that is refurbished. At this point it is costing more to repair this machine than to just replace it. Every time I call Whirlpool I get the line of we have to repair it. Give me a break. Take care of your customers!!?? #neverbuyawhirpoolproduct

I purchased a Cabrio high efficiency washer in 2011 and have had the glass top lid crack twice. The hinge is rusted, shedding rust all over the corner of the washer. It is a design flaw, for I see others have had the same problem with this particular year. I have also looked at the newer versions of the Cabrio and the lids have been redesigned. This lid should be recalled and replaced with a newer version, because this lid will always rust and crack with use.

Purchased a whirlpool water heater 04/08/2005 and it worked for a short time. It had a 6 year warranty. I had to replace the thermocoupler assembly 1 time and it worked fine until last week. 09/02/1011, 4 months after warranty ran out, the unit started leaking severely from the top ? (Could of understood the bottom) here. After investigating further and being told to basically pound salt by the warranty number I called, I removed the top cove r(glued on by spray in insulation) and carved away the spray in insulation. All the bosses/threaded fittings for the inlet outlet and anode rod were all leaking under the insulation where it could not be seen! I know for a fact this unit was leaking long before the warranty expired! But because of the way it is built it is impossible to see it!. I strongly feel this was a manufacturing defect and there are hundreds if not thousands of these units in people houses all over the country!

He came and said it would be better if got rid of it and bought something else. Said it would cost too much to fix and hes seen too many of these. The noise is so loud we close door on laundry room and we cant hear TV in front room. This is the worse junk we have ever brought. Whirlpool should be accountable for this.

I had to re-arrange my kitchen and have my slider doors moved over a foot to accommodate this monstrosity. After about 2 years the icemaker and water dispenser died - had to shove a facecloth in it to keep it from making noise. The white color is very hard to keep clean. Overall, I would not recommend a Whirlpool brand refrigerator.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine on 3-18-16. In February of 2017 the washer died. I was bleaching my whites at the time so most of the clothes, whites fell apart because they sat in bleach and water for 2 days. I had to figure out how to get them out without getting bleach and water all over my clothes. I called whirlpool and they got someone to come fix it. The tech came and said we needed a new control panel. We waited 3 weeks for the panel. He came on 3-24-17. He put the part in. Took less than 10 min and said, All set. I went downstairs and put a few things in. I was a bit leery and the machine started. I went back upstairs and I hear beeping. I go back down and the machine is flashing again. I called the repair people they said, Unplug it for 10 min. It may reset itself. If it doesnt, call back. It didnt. I called back and wanted me to wait till the following week. I told her I had clothes in there.Someone came the next morning and said it needed a harness and they would order it. Well its the 28th and I havent heard anything. I have called whirlpool several times with no satisfaction. We had the machine less than a year and its been dead for 2 months. I am disabled. I have multiple sclerosis so every day is a new issue. I hate to put that in here but I want you to know what Im dealing with along with a dead washer. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Purchased Whirlpool Dishwasher 1 year ago. I use the Dishwasher once a week. When the Dishwasher was originally installed, immediately I noticed when dishes were placed the racks, there is an annoying squeaking sound. I am not exaggerating but the noise can be heard from my sidewalk outside! I called Whirlpool and a technician was sent to my residence. There is nothing wrong with your Dishwasher. I was told to Grease the racks. One year later I still have the same issue! I placed the phone near the Dishwasher to have the Customer Service Rep hear the Loud Squeaking and to no avail. I will never ever buy another product from Whirlpool. Now the latch will not close to the door! I rarely use this appliance, only placing dishes and utensils. No Pots and Pans!!!!! This is going to be another huge bill I will be responsible for paying and I dont feel it is of my own doing. It seems to be apparent that Whirlpool does not stand by their products!!!! I am sure they are aware of all these issues, customers are complaining and nothing seems to be done from reading some of these posts. I am wondering why they are still in business.

I bought a NEW Whirlpool 40 gallon, natural gas hot water heater from Lowes in May 2012. January 04, 2014, the main electronics failed that controlled everything. It has a 9-year warranty (after 1 yr.- parts only). What failed was the Gas Control/thermostat unit, and it takes a HVAC-trained person to replace it. Yes, theyd send the part - free, but required me to pay for installation. Talking with an HVAC business owner, he said hes replaced about 30 of these and he surmised that Whirlpool KNOWS that nationwide, over 10,000 needed replacement yet Whirlpool cares less. Ive had trouble with other Whirlpool products, so when my appliances, etc. go bad, I will NOT replace with Whirlpool products.

We purchased our new Whirlpool Cabrio washer on November 1, 2013. From the start this machines performance has been a disappointment. We bought the machine at The Brick (I should have known better) where we had made several purchases over the years ( I guess Im a slow learner). Right off the hop, my wife and I noticed that the clothes were not coming out clean. Even though the machine is Eco and therefore advertises that it uses less water, there should be enough water that the clothes at least get evenly wet. That may be a problem with the agitator not seeming to have the guts required to pull the clothing down to the bottom of the drum. We went back to The Brick and told them that we were not happy with the machine they had sold us and quite predictably they told us that we should call Whirlpool (This was less than a week after we had it delivered. Did I mention that I may be a slow learner?). We called Whirlpool and they told us they would have a tech out to take a look at it on November 11th. Wow, I thought. Hows that for service. A repair guy coming out on a statutory holiday. Of course it didnt happen. When we called them back to ask if their repair guy had made it home okay, they claimed that we werent there when the repairman tried to call to confirm his arrival time at our home. We hadnt left the nest the entire day. They then told us to go back to The Brick. We went back once again and told them, yet again, that we were not satisfied. This time they agreed to send their own man over to take a look. He came over yesterday and watched the machine go through an entire wash cycle and then said that there really wasnt anything he could do, as even though it may do a crappy job of washing the clothes, it at least appeared that mechanically speaking there didnt seem to be anything wrong with it. We called Whirlpool back today and they said that there isnt anything wrong with it mechanically so from their end, at least, the story is over. What kind of customer service is that????? Maybe Whirlpool and The Brick deserve each other, but I think we should get better treatment than that

I agree with all the other reviews listed here! How in the world is a washer to get clothes clean when there is no agitation? Or enough water to even cover the clothes? This is a complete waste of time, one cycle can take an hour or more, because the extra rinse cycle is necessary. And it takes 20 minutes to just sense the load. What a crock. And yes my clothes smell also. Please any recourse besides buying a new washer? Does Whirlpool stand by the product?

Purchased this dishwasher in 2015. It has been horrible. The unit has never cleaned sufficiently on any cycle. I run the unit in the evening for the full cycle with heat. It takes almost 4 hours. The dishes are still soaking wet the next morning. We would be considered light use as a family of two. I hand wash any larger pans or cookware as the racks do not support anything of midrange weight or above. With the poor cleaning, I purchased a additional silverware rack and placed it more centrally to attempt better cleaning. It remains mediocre at best. The most recent irritation is the door latch has started pulling free from the unit and remains attached to the door! I have to take pliers and remove it from the door and reaffix it into the housing of the unit. Will never recommend this nor will I ever purchase anything from this company in the future. Sad to see the quality falter to the point of absolute failure.

It only cleans the bottom of the oven and that is after you mop up the water left in the bottom and scrub it. No amount of scrubbing even touches the sides, back or window, even after using the Aqualift feature 3 times! I spent hundreds of dollars only to be down on my hands and knees scrubbing to no avail. I purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio HE) 2 years ago against the advise of many people including my husband due to the cost, $850 for what is now no more than a large paper weight! It had never really done a good job at cleaning our clothes. About 6 months ago, it started not spinning enough to remove all the water from the load. I thought, no big deal, I will just use the extra spin cycle. It became the normal thing - wash, spin, extra spin. Well, then it became wash, spin, extra spin, extra spin. I noticed 3 months ago that it was not even agitating. It fills up, sounds like it is agitating and then drains. There was no movement from inside at all. All along I am getting from my husband. told you not to buy it! I gave in and called the repairman - $185 for a console, $26 for a sensor and $55 for a couple of drum clips and then the $35/hour for the repairs. I would rather spend a couple hundred dollars and buy a washer with an agitator that really works. I would never recommend this washer to anyone!

With some research, I found that these machines are notorious for breaking down just after warranty with an f 1 code for older machines and an f 51 code for newer machines. Whirlpool is well aware of the breakdowns and the defect inherent in these machines and still sells them with no warning or no recall to fix the problem. We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer 6 years ago. This washer has been such a terrible appliance, I would not recommend that anyone buy one. The top of the washer has broken 2 times. Whirlpool will do nothing about it. It is a manufacturers defect where the glass pops out of the top and then breaks the frame it is in. We had it replaced last year and the new one is now broken - same problem. It also does not get clothes clean and the clothes get ruined because they become all entangled in one another. I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model GB2FHDXWB07 a little over 2 years ago. The first one did not work properly within 6 hours of being turned on. Every few minutes it sounded like the compressor was trying to kick on so it hummed then shut off. Best Buy wanted to fix it but after much arguing with them and Whirlpool they brought me a new refrigerator. Now, the same thing is happening. Best Buy has no record of me purchasing it and Whirlpool has no record of me registering the warranty, which would be outdated anyway (over 1 measly year). So, they offered me a Repair and one year warranty $329.95 which means Im now up to about $1500 for a basic refrigerator that has not even lasted 2 1/2 years. The other option to fix it is to pay a local company $90 for the trip and diagnosis plus parts and labor. That will be around $550 depending on how fast the technician works. I will never buy another Whirlpool anything. My washer and dryer also have had problems but I wont even go into that here. The one good thing is the poor girl who took my call was very nice and acted as if this is a regular occurrence. Good luck if you buy a Whirlpool. They are garbage.

Of course I did not know until my washer went and had service come to my house. Its a $799 fix, not including labor, youre better off buying a new machine. How does he know thats the reason for breaking??? The machine is 2 years old, not a scratch on it!!! Unbelievable!!!! Then states thats $114 for the service call. $114 for 2 seconds!!! Im absolutely furious!!! Whirlpool has a new program (if it helps anyone), if your machine is fairly new they will give you a invoice for 1/2 off a new Whirlpool... Take it from there. Whirlpool side by side with in door ice maker W10281961D - I purchased the refrigerator 10-2013. Within 9 months all of the food in the refrigerator side was freezing. Unfortunately, I did not purchase the extended warranty so I would turn up the temp control every 24 hours as suggested in the manual. The water maker then stopped working. I am disabled and money is tight, but I was wasting so much by throwing frozen produce and eggs away and was worried about thawing meat on the counter since it was not possible to in the refrigerator.I finally broke down, called Sears, purchased the warranty at that time, which was $259.00 and when the repairman came out we found out the damper was broken, thus causing the food in the refrigerator to freeze and the motherboard had went out, thus causing the temp controls not to work. The extended warranty had a $500 max, so we had to pay an additional $120.00 out of pocket. It is working fine now, but in my opinion, it should not have stopped working as quickly as it did since it was an expensive purchase to start out with.

I had to keep watch of the time and turn it off manually so it not energy efficient when I have to monitor when clothes will be dry.

I bought this Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes June 2016. It doesnt wash the clothes at all, always detergent marks or clothes just not clean. Now it is making some loud noise during washing cycles (sounds like motor is dying) and I now I have to wait for someone to come out and fix it during a 8-5 time span, so I have to take off work. I will never buy whirlpool again. So very unsatisfied!

Purchased water heater in 2005 with a lifetime warranty. We had our first problem May 30, 2013. Water would not heat above lukewarm. Called Whirlpool. Our plumber and Whirlpool determined that the temp sensor was defective. Plumber took it off and it appeared it had shorted out as the wires were black and plastic coating had slightly melted in one spot. We had replacement part in 24 hours. Licensed Plumber did repair (2 hours @ $75/hr = $150). Second problem occurred October 23, 2013. Not even 5 months later! No hot water. Hit reset button, turned temp up. No change. The diagnostic light on water heater indicated it was the same problem as before. Called Whirlpool. They sent out repair part which arrived in 24 hours. Licensed Plumber repaired (1.5 hours @ $75/hour = $112.50).I took a picture of the melted plastic caps where the wires screw into, of the housing around the wires, of the melted, charcoal crispy black of the Junction Box in the area that was directly above and covered the wires and sensor panel. It was much worse than last time. Plumber said that the part that screwed into the plastic cap had to be pried out and it broke off. You could see that this might be the spot where the problem started. We feel fortunate that we didnt have an electrical fire start from this problem. Something isnt right. Within less than 5 months, we have spent $262.50 to repair a water heater that has a lifetime warranty. Id like to give this 0 stars. Whirlpool owes us $262.50 and it might be more before this is all said and done.

We purchased a 50 gallon water heater in 2005. In 2008, the thermocoupling unit went out and Whirlpool sent us the replacement part and we had a plumper install the piece (at our expense, of course). Now, we are running into the exact same problem 3 years later with the pilot light not staying lit. We had a plumber come out this weekend and replace the part but unfortunately this time, its not fixing the problem. The plumber charged us $178. He said that he can replace the thermostat on the water heater but that would cost us close to $400 to replace and makes no sense to do since purchasing a new one wouldnt be much more than that. I am so frustrated with this water heater; I just want to throw it out in the middle of the street! We still have 3 years left on our warranty too. I have 2 very young daughters who need to take baths, and who also dirty up quite a bit of clothes that need to be washed in warm water. What a nightmare! Whirlpool, help us!

I bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator (model GX5SHDXV01) about 5 years ago. This company used to have a great reputation, but times have changed. At 2 years, the defroster went out and needed to be replaced. I thought at the time it was just one of those flukes, since Whirlpool makes such good products. But, here I am again with the defroster out at just over 5 years old. I contacted customer support and was told that they would not stand behind their product. Twice in 5 years is ridiculous! Poor marks for reliability.

I purchased 4 whirlpool appliances at Leons in Mississauga. The side by side refrigerator was replaced within a few weeks. Got a new one and have had that one fixed at least 3 times already. The stove was serviced 3 times now, the washer broke so many times. They gave me a refund. The microwave broke as well. They told me it was not fixable, then I called Leons and they said it was too old. It was only 18 months old. Did not get anywhere with the microwave. Had to buy a new one. The only appliance I had that didnt break was the dryer. So far. The fridge now has broken inside, the crisper wont slide in and out at all. Cant be used. I bought a warranty on all the appliances, and even though I had a warranty, when a coin got stuck in the washing machine because the drum inside kept banging because it was in need of new struts, they still charged me 135.00 to fix it. Two to three weeks later a repairman came and put new shocks on it. Finally after having it repaired about 5-6 times in a year and half they gave me a refund at Leons and I went to pick out a new washing machine. Overall I have spent about 6-8 hours on the phone complaining and making appointments with Whirlpool Canada.

Since purchasing original refrigerator 2 years ago I have multiple problems. Freezer was icing up to the point where drawers could not be opened, after numerous service calls, door was replaced which did not resolve problem. Refrigerator was replaced on warranty. Soon after light control circuit board had to be replaced. Next light control had to be recalibrated. Now, with the unit being approx. 1 yr old, rust spots are appearing on freezer door. Whirlpool rep advised this problem is not covered on warranty and would not provide any information as to what company contacts could be used to pursue the issue. Very upset and disappointed with product and customer service.

Im on Whirlpool Cabrio washer top number 4. Well over $300.00 each, and washer doesnt work with a broken top. I sent a letter to Whirlpool telling them, NEVER again Whirlpool and my reason is the 4th top in 6 years. I received a form letter back... apologizing for a delay in response and, we hope you enjoy the rest of your day, lol. They dont get my level of dissatisfaction or better just dont care. Never again Whirlpool. If you search Cabrio Washer tops you can see thousands of dissatisfied customers... and still Whirlpool has the arrogance to say, occasionally failures do occur, but we can not explain. Really is your engineering that bad? A high school kid could figure out that the spring is to strong for the plastic housing and over time the plastic cracks. Really Whirlpool? A multi billion dollar company? Never again Whirlpool.

The Whirlpool repairman left today after replacing the burned out motor on my 5 yr old dishwasher bought in Feb 2012 and installed July 2012 as did not arrive from Quebec to Surrey BC until the end of June 2012. So the Finish dishwasher detergent was in the dishwasher as samples and coupons and recommended this Finish for use in the new dishwasher so I stupidly believed them and used it. Well last week my dishwasher stopped working after it started and turns out today the cause was from the Finish dishwasher detergent. I was told today after paying 393 dollars for the repairs. Not to use Finish anymore or I will have the same problem. To only use Cascade. So what is a person suppose to believe.

Whirlpool Gold appliances are junk!!! Our dishwasher just stopped working one day. It was about 2 years old. We tried all the troubleshooting ideas we found on the internet. Nothing worked. I had a 13 Year old working dishwasher when I bought this one. Sure wish I had left well enough alone. I think there should be a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool. I had also purchased a new electric range... It is constantly giving me an error message when I try to use the oven. We have to flip the breaker and that sometimes helps. I bought 4 of the Gold appliances... I’m holding my breath on the other 2. I thought I had done a good job researching before I bought. I remodeled my kitchen. It turns out that a company that I believed was reputable and worthy of my business are not.

Despite always using the designated (he) detergents and trying many different brands in appropriate amounts, this washer always leaves an ugly white residue on clothes. This happens all the time, requiring whole loads of clothes to be rewashed, sometimes more than once. This defeats the whole purpose of conserving water, which is reflected in our water bill. We also placed the laundry room on the second floor to make it easier for me with my disabilities. I am constantly having to climb the stairs when the machine gets unbalanced in addition to the extra loads from the residue. I was very excited to purchase this machine. Unfortunately, these feelings didnt last long.

I just bought a house that has one of these ranges, and it was getting the F2 message. I found the problem. There is NO ventilation behind the electronic control so when the oven heats up, the control board gets too hot and throws the F2 code. That would indicate a bad temp sensor or bad board, but really its the heat shield on the back. Ive removed the metal plate from behind the control panel and it works fine now. Im considering drilling some vent holes and adding some insulation behind the control.

Just like hundreds (maybe thousands?) of others who have had the same part failure causing the refrigerator to leak, I had it and was told by my very honest, highly reputable repairman (not the one KA recommended!) that it was a DEFECT. I bought a French Door style #4609730. First, I complained on Twitter and the Social Media folks gave me the runaround. I kept it up and then, filed a complain with the Better Biz Bureau. They sent the complaint to Whirlpool, who owns KA. They gave me the runaround too - UNTIL I TOLD THEM HOW MY LOCAL TV NEWS station was interested in my story (true, I went to them too). I purchased a Whirlpool fridge in September of 2015. In March of 2016 I noticed the Fridge portion was getting too cold. By April 2016 the freezer stopped freezing and fridge started warming up. I reported the issue to Whirlpool and made an appointment. The day of the appointment the first company called and their tech couldnt make it because of a family emergency. They sent another company out instead. That company diagnosed the issue as a faulty chiller and ordered the part and told me they would be in touch. A week goes by with no working fridge and I call them. They say it will be another week for the parts. Two weeks go by - no call. I call them and they say they have the parts and I make an appointment. The day of the appointment I call them to find out what time they will be out and they tell me they dont have all the parts. And when I mention that I have been without a fridge and that I am frustrated that they arent calling me and that I am having to call them back the lady starts yelling at me asking me if I want to cancel my appointment. So I call Whirlpool and ask for another company. They send a company out that is not trained to be working on a sealed unit. So I call Whirlpool back again and they send an in house tech out three days later. This is over about a month without a fridge at this point. Their tech simply recharges the system and says that it should be fine.A week later the freezer stops freezing and the fridge warms up to the point that both are not usable. The tech comes out and diagnoses that there it is most likely the chiller because of a build up of frost in the freezer. Orders the part and a week and a bit later I call Whirlpool up to get an ETA on the parts. They say they have the parts now (no call??) and they schedule an appointment. The tech comes out and puts the part in almost a week later (2 months now) and says that it is still building up frost in an area that it shouldnt and calls tech support back and forth for the next two hours. He leaves saying give it some time to see if it works, but admits to me that it is likely it is leaking in an area that he cant access. So I call up Whirlpool and explain the situation and ask for a new Fridge. It has been two months and the tech by his own admission could not say he fixed the problem and thought the problem maybe somewhere else. After looking at my case and me being on hold back and forth for about a half hour the supervisor says that at this time I need to wait to see if it fails again. And that if it does I need to have a tech back on site to verify. So this will be the seventh time I took time off work, it will be the fourth time the fridge fails and that I will have to throw out groceries. When is enough enough. I am into this now for almost double what the fridge is worth in lost wages and groceries.Do yourself a favour and stay away from Whirlpool!!! If I have to guess the following will happen: five days from now the fridge will stop working again (when the Freon leaks out - same timeline as previously) and then I have to call for a tech (3-4 days) and the tech will come out, determine that it isnt working. I have another conversation with a supervisor asking for a new fridge and they miraculously agree (yeah I know). Then what two weeks, a month... before I get a new fridge. I anticipate that I will have been without a fridge for 3 months before it is all resolved. Ridiculous is all I can say. Whirlpool should be embarrassed.

Absolute junk. Bought an entire matching set 2 years ago. Fridge, microwave, dishwasher and oven. Oven is the most user unfriendly thing I have ever bought. That’s my fault. Microwave failed. 300 to replace. Ice maker in side by side fridge failed, another 300 dollar fix. I used to have a field mouse or two get into the house every year. Don’t have that problem anymore because the fridge is so loud it scares them off. Talking to Customer service was the most frustrating thing of all. They think if they say your name in a nice soft tone long enough it will make everything ok. Mother and father raved about Whirlpool products. How times have changed. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these products. Also, look up the other brand names made in the same factory and steer clear of those as well. I used to think appliances were all the same. How wrong I was. Do your research. It will save you a bundle in the long run.

Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher Model # WDT710PAYM6 - Purchased this dishwasher in July, 2014. Last week the dishwasher powered off mid cycle. Could not power back up. Tried a few suggestions found online to reset which did not work. I had both a plumber and an electrician look at it. All water lines were fine and power coming in and out of dishwasher and control panel was checked and all looked okay to electrician, but could not get the machine to power up. I purchase a WP Fridge only unit model WRF578 18D MOO in July 2016. I woke up 3 months later and my fridge was filled with rotten food, the internal temp was 16 C 60.8 F. I phoned Sears and they had me phone WP. They tried to repairman but he phoned and told me that he could not service my fridge as he was a 3 1/2 hr and one Ferry ride away from me - He was in Whistler and I live on the Sunshine Coast. I phoned WP again and they sent someone who actually lives here. He found and repaired a small freon leak. Four months later it happened again, the fridge was also making loud noises when the compressor started and stopped. I phoned WP again. They sent the same repairman, he ordered and installed a new compressor and topped up the freon. Sadly less than 3 months later it happened again. This time I was very firm with WP that I was unhappy, they extended my warranty for a further 6 months. The same repairman again came and topped up the freon. That brings us to this week. On Wednesday June 14 I woke up again for the fourth time to a fridge full of rotting food. The fridge was actually warmer than my Greenhouse that day! I phoned WP. They were unwilling to help so I asked for a supervisor. She offered to pay 1/2 of the service call as my warranty had expired Jan 26/17. I said that was unacceptable and asked to speak to her Supervisor. She stated that she was as high as I could speak to, so I asked for an e-mail address for her supervisor. She instead tried to tell that I had no warranty and that they had already fixed my fridge 3 times and given me an extra 6 months on my warranty and offered for me to BUY an extended warranty! I replied that if my fridge were fixed I would not need a service call and that in fact my fridge had never really been fixed. She transferred me to another person. He offered to pay for the service call. I accepted. He asked if I were happy, I said that I would wait and see after the service call on Monday. I Asked if it were the same Man, he said that violated his Privacy. I said I will see him Monday! Will he be wearing a disguise?! Kohuch (the Service guy is coming over this afternoon -Friday) my Husband left work early to be here.
