18 months ago, we purchased a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer. Having previously only purchased Whirlpool washers and dryers for over 40 years, we decided to continue because we had enjoyed positive experiences with all of our previous purchases over the years. Now, our washer has quit working properly, the door locks and wont open on the washer and the repairman arrived today with parts to replace based on the code messages popping up on the washer screen. However, now, hes not certain if the motor has burned out or if it is some other problem. We also purchased a French door frig from Whirlpool barely 13 months ago (bottom freezer) and recently had to have that repaired when one of the electronic boards went out and the freezer quit working and icing up.In both of these cases, the appliances started giving us problems just as soon as the warranties were up; what has happened to Whirlpool reliability and dependability of their products? We cant help but feel that our China-based parts are part of the change and will, in the future, not purchase any more Whirlpool products. We are grossly disappointed and feel cheated with these appliances.

Bought expensive fridge 2009. Now (2015) random very loud rat-tat-tat sounds lasting 5-10 seconds. Very loud. Paid for repairman to evaluate. He said it was probably compressor spring and other springs would probably soon break and would shut down fridge. Said it is very expensive to repair and it would be best to dump the fridge and buy a new one. I called the 800 number located inside the fridge. Jacob at Whirlpool listened to my story and said, Yep, it sounds like the compressor spring and the other springs will likely break. He said he can make me a one-time offer of a full repair of the compressor for only $359.65. We pay Whirlpool and they will have a local guy here come and fix it. We paid by visa. And, via email we get a document that shows we just bought a service contract. This is a surprise to us as we were told were paying to have the compressor repaired. In a few days, a call comes from local repair shop. Guy says, he will come out and check out the noise and see if he can repair our unit. We tell him the noise is intermittent and we cant predict when the noise will occur. We also tell him Jacob from Whirlpool said it was the compressor and that we paid to have it repaired. He says it doesnt sound like it is the compressor and that he cant diagnose the problem if he cant hear the noise. We tell Maytag/Whirlpool via phone we are faxing formal request for refund of our $359.65. Lady from Whirlpool says we, should get a refund in 4-6 weeks. Well, we will see.We are very disappointed in the the short life of our very expensive fridge and we are disgusted with the false and misleading comments made by Jacob of Whirlpool. He told us we were paying for the repair of our compressor and instead we get a stupid service contract. We are in the process of buying a new fridge. And no... It will NOT be a Maytag/Whirlpool!

We have had a Whirlpool hot water heater for 6 years and 14 days. Note the 14 days. It has been nothing but trouble and we have called the company repeatedly for help. It finally stopped working altogether 14 days after the warranty ran out. Thank you Whirlpool for nothing! It had a filter on the bottom of the heater that constantly had to be cleaned which was next to impossible. We had to buy a special brush to try to reach it. My husband had to take it apart several times a year and clean it to keep it running. Whirlpool should have replaced it within the first year but instead offered many suggestions about cleaning and etc. so they would not have to replace. Today it is out of my house for good and I would advise anyone reading this to beware! Horrible product!!!

I have a new Whirlpool double convection oven which is very noisy. There is a rattle and pinging noise that occurs and the fan is also loud. Im not sure if it is an install or product issue. Can anyone comment on their convection oven? I dont believe this is normal. I am disappointed with my purchase and would opt for gas or basic electric. The double convection ovens were fairly pricey too.

Something inside the machine broke causing it to tear up my clothes! I had it repaired once, now it is 4 months outside warranty and it is destroying my clothes again. Whirlpool Gold microwave quit heating after little use. We moved in house one year ago, microwave 6 years old. Spoke with Timena customer service rep. She took my model, serial info and clearly explained this model had defects and they would replace for free even though 1 year warranty was up. Delivery staff would call within 24 business hours. After 4 days I call back and get Mia rep, she claims I was disapproved for new unit after all?? I spoke to 2 supervisors above her Karin in Tennessee, and another. They claim I was mistaken??? I said, “Look up the recorded call and you will see the message is clear... They acted shifty and claimed I should buy a new starting at $1399!!! They would consider small discount?? Their rep was clear at first then they failed to back her up. Terrible customer service. Lied etc. Never buy Whirlpool!!! They are cheap and don’t stand behind reps. Awful company!!!

This is the noisiest refrigerator I have owned. The compressor is so noisy I have to turn the TV up to hear over the fridge in the kitchen. The compressor runs almost constantly, they say thats to make it more efficient. I have called whirlpool and all they say is that it is normal. This unit replace a older Whirlpool fridge that you had to put your ear against to hear it running. It is now on our porch for cold drinks. This will be the last whirlpool product I purchase.

We bought the Whirlpool water heater and not long after, it quit heating. After many phone calls, we finally got a response and were told to get the replacement thermocouple. We did this and it was the wrong part. We found out that we had to have a right hand thread thermocouple. Now, the heater is out of warranty and we cannot keep it lit at all. It takes at least 3-4 times before it will light once and then it goes out every time the hot water is used.

In 2008 I bought a Whirlpool range from Lowes. About a year ago I began to notice an electrical smell when I would use the oven. I called the repairman in October and he had to replace wires that had melted. The first time using the oven blew a fuse. Repairman came back replaced everything for free and it has worked fine since October. 2 days ago the fuse blew again. When I flipped the breaker in order to use the cooktop there was an arc flash which blew a hole through the back of the panel on the stove where the cord is hooked to the stove and a hole burned in my wall. After reading Whirlpools fan mail I see that there are severe issues with the quality of Whirlpool products. It is a sad day when the names we have come to trust are more concerned with the bottom dollar than with customer satisfaction with their product.

November 4, 2017 we purchased a 2018 Tiffin RV with a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator/freezer. We did not use the RV refrigerator until our first trip to Florida January 2018. Immediate problems with the freezer icing up on freezer door and icing up in the top 2 shelves of refrigerator. Milk, fruit, even cheese froze in the top of the refrigerator. Bottom freezer door froze so bad I had to yank on the drawer very hard to even get it open & chunks of ice would fall off the door on the floor outside once it opened. Called Whirlpool warranty service phone number two times 2/16/2018. I wont go into all the details but we were on hold for a 90 minutes and were transferred 7 times by the automated system. Talked to one person, Lindsey, who immediately transferred me again to RV Dept. No one ever answered. System kept saying, Please wait. Then just disconnected and another recording came on saying to call back. We did not after this fiasco! February 19, 2018 we called Tiffin MH & told them about the NO CUSTOMER SERVICE from Whirlpool. They told us to call Sears in Sebring, FL. We did. If we wanted Whirlpool service to bring the motorhome to them & the warranty only covered parts NOT labor or service calls. They did not want to work on it. March 13, 2018 We went to Tiffin MH Service in Red Bay, AL. Earl called Whirlpool tech, Steve, & tried to explain the problem. Steve told him he did not talk on speaker phone & told him very hatefully to put him on the private line. Steve just very angrily insisting that Earl had him on speaker phone. I do not understand Whirlpools Steve issue with being on speaker phone? Finally Earl got him to listen to our refrigerator problems as he stood there at the refrigerator going through each issue step-by-step. Steve said to put silicon in the seal & that Whirlpool WOULD NOT replace a 3 month old refrigerator that actually had only been used 2 months. We found out later Tiffin is going to replace the refrigerator.

Bought in October 2014. Died December 2015. The previous Whirlpool microwave this unit replaced was 10 years old and carried a 5 year warranty on the magnetron. Imagine my dismay to find out this unit carried only a 1 year warranty on the magnetron. So 2 months past warranty expiration Im left with a dead unit. I performed elementary troubleshooting. The unit has a fuse on the 120 Volt input. But the unit must be disassembled to gain access to the fuse. So what SHOULD be a five minute job turned into an hour and a half. The fuse wasnt the problem - replacement fuses blew like popcorn. Fuse placement within the unit without regard for service considerations is a poor design. To their credit, Whirlpool agreed to cover the cost of repairs if I would pay for labor. I agreed. A tech came out and looked at the unit. He said that he would have to order a bunch of parts and that he would be back in contact by the end of the week. Three weeks went by. There was no call from the tech; my messages on his voicemail generated no response. So a couple of days later I purchased a replacement from a competing manufacturer.

We purchased the washer on April 25, 2015. It has been an absolute nightmare. Reached out to Sears within a week of delivery because the wash cycle was way over an hour. Is a terrible machine, my clothes come out dirty, is damaging my clothes and Sears says I cannot return it because according to them I havent had it fixed enough times. It washes for over an hour at times. It takes water and releases water and goes to wash again but is not cleaning the clothes. As a homeowner we pay water, and electricity and perhaps I wouldnt be so upset if my clothes would come out clean. At first the tech told me to change from the HE detergent purchased and recommended at Sears to liquid detergent and then since I still get stains on our clothes he advised me to use less than the recommended amount. I also purchased the kit to wash the machine. This is a real lemon and nobody wants to admit it. I have purchased Whirpool washer before but if they dont admit that this is poorly made and give me a voucher to buy another machine I will never ever in my life buy Whirlpool or Sears for that matter. The machine is just a year old and I cannot use it because it damages my clothes and worst, is not cleaning my clothes. It disgust me to wear dirty clothes or to have my family wear them. So now I have another appointment and at this point I no longer use the machine. I will tell everyone that is willing to hear my experience. Do not purchase this washer, is not good and is only trouble. You are not going to be able to get it exchanged or fixed. I think that a full year would have been enough time for Sears to determine this is a lemon and do the right thing by the customer. I now go to the laundromat because I have a machine that damages my clothes. I am also out of money to purchase a new one and the wearing dirty clothes disgust me.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator January 2016. 4 months later the refrigerator stopped working. It took over a week for Whirlpool to have it repaired. Two weeks later the refrigerator stopped working again. It took four days for Whirlpool to get a repair man to my house. I called customer service 4x asking for a replacement or loaner or possibly they could expedite the repairs. All they could do was recite my warranty to me stating that they are only responsible for repairs. I was in touch with their executive office and was pretty much told tough patooties - my warranty only covers repair. The executive office told me to wait for a third breakdown and then we could talk about an exchange. WHAT??? I have to suffer a third inconvenience before Whirlpool will do anything??? I lost hundreds of dollars in food, have to live two weeks without refrigeration in 95 degree Florida weather, had to go shopping on a daily basis or eat fast food (at my expense) because I couldnt even keep milk for breakfast cereal. I filed a claim with BBB only to have Whirlpool close the claim stating that they fixed the refrigerator.

How I wish I had read this board before purchasing! This is the worst washing machine made. Put your clothes in the sink, add water to cover two thirds, add detergent, slosh around slowly for a few minutes, wring and remove. You have replicated a Cabrio wash! I have complained repeatedly, had a repairman who assured me it was working properly (as designed, too little water, too little agitation). I was a lifetime Whirlpool client.

This is a horrible washing machine. All the clothes (and I mean small loads, medium loads, large loads) come out twisted and so wrinkled. I have never seen anything like it. I dont machine dry many items and so everything not dried that way has to be ironed. Also, there is white residue of some kind left on the clothes so the extra rinse must be used. How is that energy and water-saver sufficient? Again, the government EPA in its brilliance has screwed up another product. It also takes much longer to wash clothes, again, energy efficient? After reading the wasted time on other reviews of talking to Whirlpool, I didnt even bother contacting them. HE front loaders (which we had a Samsung that lasted 1 1/2 years before breaking down) and replaced by this top loading HE, are the worst. Give me back my old fashioned washer.

I have used Kenmore products for about 50 years, so when it came time to replace my old washer I looked at Kenmore/Whirlpool. I upgraded to the top of the line. I had been warned by 2 service techs (2 different companies) that had tried to keep my old Kenmore alive that the new ones are not up to par compared to the old ones. The first very small load that I tried, was not even thoroughly wet when I took it out to put in the dryer. 1st service call, tech suggested that I put machine on extra water. That helped sort of. A few weeks later, wash is not getting clean. Called Whirlpool, they suggested getting the washer cleaner and clean the washer. Went out and bought a special cleaner, $10-12 and two cleanings later using the extra water and extra wash water I now was getting cleaner clothes. They said I would need to clean the washer every 2 to 4 weeks. I have continued to use washer but frequently have to rewash about 1 in every 5 to 10 loads as it doesnt always clean everything in the load. Called the Co., they sent service out, they said its OK!In Jan. We went out of town for 2 weeks. The washer had not been used for 4 days before we left. Came home to water all over the floor which are hardwood. Needless to say our hardwood is all warped! Service came out, ran the washer for about 15 min. and said it was fine, nothing wrong! Called Whirlpool again! Washer is now out of warranty. They said call a local service, out of their hands as it is out of warranty! Nothing more than they can do.I have used Kenmore/Whirlpool Appliances all my life and they have been wonderful. The new ones are garbage as far as I can tell. I have a Refer that is now 3-4 years old and I have had problems with that, a new dishwasher that is 2ish and have had service out on that one, now my brand new washer top of the line and it is so bad I am afraid to use it unless I am sitting right in front of it watching it! Further if you have the rinse cycle on the clothes come out so wrinkled that you need to get out your iron out and iron everything including sheets and linens. Lucky that I did not replace my old dryer! Do I recommend Whirlpool anymore? Not on your life. I wish I knew what to replace them with!

Got a fridge Friday night setup, and was not cooling as of Sunday still. Called Best Buy who we got it through and they sent someone out first thing Monday AM to look at it. Per the Whirlpool agreement, the first year has to get serviced through them. Finally got a hold of their service support to get someone scheduled to come on site. 11 days later was the earliest appointment, and they just expected me to deal with no refrigerator for 11 days. I asked of other options, what wait times would be after Whirlpool comes out in 11 days to deem it broken and they repeatedly said I cant give you any what if answers for anything. Were no help at all and just expected me to figure out things for at least 11 days on a brand new 3 day old machine that is broken. The absolute WORST customer experience ever and refuse to buy from them again. Thankfully, Best Buy has a return window so were completely returning it and going with a different brand.

I earlier filed a complaint about the Whirlpool Gold microwave arcing within a minute of cooking frozen green beans and causing burn holes in the food. We contacted Whirlpool’s customer service and were told that the machine was no longer under warranty, but we could have it serviced, repaired and have an additional year of warranty for $259. We took a pass on that. Further trial and error along with research helped us come to the realization that the arcing was caused by the high mineral content of the green beans. Whirlpool did not tell us this, but we found the information provided by others. We no longer cook the particular brand of green beans which seem to cause this event. The microwave is no longer arcing. You would think Whirlpool might be aware of this.

We paid for overnight shipping but because of the holiday it was not guaranteed. We told them we are fine with Sat. delivery. We bought a travel trailer and it has a refrigerator with an ice maker in it and weve only used for 6 months out of the last year. The fridge is already broken (doesnt cool). They promised they would fix it even though we were out of warranty (by 7 days). That was 2 weeks ago. Theyve had one person come out and look at it, that couldnt fix it and now theyre claiming that they never told me that they would fix it and they will only cover up to $100 for someone to come fix it but I have to find the person because they couldnt find anybody. I asked them that if this was a fridge in the house how would they go about fixing it and they said it was the same process. How do you expect somebody to go out without a fridge for two-plus weeks? So many people told us not to buy the Camper because it had a Whirlpool in it but we didnt listen and we are regretting that now. The worst part is that after 48 hours we were promised they would replace the fridge if they couldnt get anybody to come out and fix it because they already okayed for the warranty to be used. But now the lady didnt put it in the notes which her name is Terry. We cant get a new one and we are waiting for a supervisor to call us back which probably wont even happen!!!

Ive been thru 2 new French door refrigerators with the icemakers in the door. Ive lost all of my food more than 6 times! There is a design flaw and they are no longer making the large models. I finally figured this out after reading multiple reviews from a lot of people with same/similar experiences. The compressor freezes then the loud noise all while the temp slowly lowers and ruining your food before you know whats happening. To add insult to injury... After ordering my THIRD replacement, their contracted installation company wont communicate with me to let me know when it will be delivered. Ive been without a fridge for 3 months! Calling them takes a full morning with hold times over an hour! I will never buy another product from them. I have a taboo LG French door with an ice maker in the door in my other home and it has been perfect for 7 years. Just be very careful and read reviews from people who have owned one for at least a year.

I cannot adequately express my dissatisfaction with the Cabrio washer and dryer that I purchased couple years ago. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. That includes Maytag; Kenmore; or Amana products. I have had nothing but problems from the start. The washer sounds like jet engine taking off in the spin cycle. I found out the washer needs new tub bearings ~ $200. The washer is tearing up towels during the wash cycle not sure what the cause is.My washer will only wash clothes in certain cycles (bulk). I keep getting error codes in normal or other cycles. The washer takes long time to fill so it times out during fill cycle. I replaced fill lines and checked for blockage, everything was clear. The washer probably needs either new motherboard or water inlet valve. Not sure which, maybe both? It is impossible to wash a load of clothes without getting the UL unbalanced load indicator. I also have problems balancing the load. I have taken wet clothes out and put them back in with no luck. It takes hours for a load to finally wash. The dryer has had its problems. I just replaced the belt tensioner on the dryer because it was making a terrible screeching sound. The noise was very annoying. I am very disappointed with quality of Whirlpool products. However, don’t worry about improving customer relations because I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. P. S. How come you have not issued product recall? There are 1,000s of similar complaints concerning the Cabrio washer. Frustrated customer.

Whirlpool Refrigerator WRF736sdam13. Purchased from Lowe’s June 2015... freezing started in April 2019. Freezer bottom is not draining correctly and the bottom keeps freezing making it difficult to push door close. I have the extended warranty. This will be the 5th time on Monday, July 29 repair person will come out.I talked to Whirlpool and Lowe’s. The product cannot be considered a lemon because the problem continues to be “fixable” as stated from answering service when I reported the problem again. Customer service has been amazing up to this point. Anyone else have an issue with this model with the bottom freezing solid? Any suggestions?

I have the stainless steel Whirlpool Gold appliances. They look beautiful but do not work for long. For one, the dual burner never heated properly on the cooktop. I just worked around it. The oven vent on the cooktop left brown marks on the stainless facade attic top by the clock. Ive read some have melted this area. Then after 2 years, the entire front glass door and handle fell off when I opened it. It not only fell, but the cheap plastic lip that holds the door on cracked so it is impossible to get back on. So, since I cant afford a new stove. Im stuck with this horrible looking mess in my kitchen.

We bought a new Whirlpool side by side, model # WRS325FNAM00 in March 2014. In less than 48 hours, the freezer box was condensing and water was leaking on the bottom edge. The condensation got worse and worse. Five service calls later, Whirlpool replaced the freezer door--which took six weeks because it had to be manufactured. After the door was installed--no change. Whirlpool replaced the entire refrigerator in June. Guess what? The new one is doing exactly the same thing in exactly the same place. So far it has not gotten worse. Well see, we have only had it a week. But already the service rep has been out to the house and added the silicone gunk to the box in case there is a tiny air leak. Why would a brand new refrigerator have an air leak in the freezer box?

Purchased a Whirlpool French Door Refrig. Model #WRF 954CIHZ200 in 11/21/2017 from Best Buy for $2300.00 on sale. Within the 1st year the Ice Maker broke & repairman said the ill design caused the wire to break. He had replaced numerous ones for the same reason. In the 2nd yr the freezer started frosting. Next thing the freezer quit. Next day refrig quit working. Called Whirlpool, said, So sorry. We will send you a $50.00 Visa gift card. That was to cover $200.00 of just bought groceries. Called repair guy & he diagnoses compressor was bad. (IN A LESS THAN 2 YR OLD REFRIG. THAT COST $2300.00????)Now, we are 28 day w/o refrig. Living with a Igloo cooler. Whirlpool says they have no stock left on compressors for our refrig. (probably because there are so many going bad in their refrigerators). They are trying to locate one somewhere in US so that takes 6 days then they have to ship to repair center then they have to schedule us for repair which will probably be another 7 days. Ghee, what a mess! Dont do it folks! Buy a LG or Samsung! If I had it to do again, thats what I would do! Whirlpool is Not what they use to be when I trusted them. Years ago. P.S. I bought microwave, stove, & dishwasher! They are all unsatisfactory! Never again!???

It has been six weeks and 4 attempts and no one can do anything to fix it. The warranty wont refund my money without deductions from the company coming out and fixing nothing and says itll take 2 weeks before I can get that. Always buy an extended warranty if you are going to buy a washing machine. Mine cost $129.00 extra and it is not through Whirlpool. Three control panels and two tub bearings later, the extended warranty insurance carrier gave us our money back to buy another machine. My wife loves the operation of the Cabrio, so we bought a WTW8200YW today, in the false hope that it will work much better. We have an extra washing machine in the garage for the three week period before repairs. The serviceman has to come look to verify the problem, then come back when the part arrives.

The French door fridge with the freezer drawers on the bottom are very flexible and easy to access. It goes downhill from there. The ice maker takes 4 days to fill up the bin with no use. The unit does not defrost and freezes up every six weeks requiring a manual defrost. Three mods have been made under the service contract and performance has not improved. PC boards have been replaced and at least one thermistor. My understanding is this is a single compressor unit with piping, relays and valves to port refrigerant to two different evaporators as needed. Unfortunately it simply does not properly balance/defrost and the freezer door freezes up. It certainly is not compatible with a high humidity environment. We will never buy another cooling design like this, but sure like the French Door layout. Glad we have a service contract.

This microwave usually has great reviews but I think I just got a dud. I purchased this model (WMH53520CS-0) as part of my new home build. After 9 months the door sensor broke and anytime we would go to run the microwave, it would tell you to open/close the door. Whirlpool sent out a certified factory dealer to fix the problem. They found it to be a faulty control panel and replaced it. After that was replaced, the exhaust fan broke. Whirlpool sent out that dealer again with the new part, and everything was working perfectly. Flash forward a whole 24 hours later, and the microwave would make the loudest sound ever and shut off after 3 seconds and blow the fuse. Turns out the turntable motor had broke and the NEW control panel was already faulty. The turntable motor part was on back order for a month and I am still currently waiting for it to be shipped to me while I have a microwave shut off collecting dust. As most anyone would be, I was extremely frustrated knowing that Whirlpool has spent at least 4 times more sending out certified dealers and replacing parts, than if they were to just order me a new microwave. They stood firm on their policy even if it meant a customer without a working microwave for over a month. Whirlpool did offer me a nice $75 debit card that took 4 weeks to arrive to help pay for a temporary microwave, but they would not work with me when I asked for the warranty to be extended 3 or 6 months. I wanted that peace of mind and its frustrating that for 2 of my 12 month warranty, the microwave was completely broken.Overall, its a nice microwave when its working but with all I have had to go through, I wouldnt recommend this model nor any Whirlpool appliances...

The range has already been replaced by Whirlpool after having it repaired twice and, finally, following the complete breakdown on Thanksgiving with turkey in oven. The refrigerator has broken twice and the computer box that controls all functions was replaced twice. The compressor goes off randomly and is currently off again at the moment. I woke up this morning to this and the temp inside is around 50 degrees. Needless to say the food inside is a loss. I will never purchase any Whirlpool appliance again. These were not inexpensive appliances by the way.

I bought a pair of Whirlpool front loading washing machine and dryer on May
I bought a pair of Whirlpool front loading washing machine and dryer on May 23, 2011. The Duet Steam washer model is WFW9640XW, dryer is WED9470WW. Their high retail price was $1125 each. I did not pay this for them. I thought I got a great buy at Lowes for the price I paid, plus their 4-year extended warranty. Whirlpool used to be a very high-end appliance manufacturing company. Now, all they put out the back door is junk. I would advise not to buy Whirlpool front end anything. My washing machine started making noise about 2 weeks before I reported it to both Lowes and Whirlpool. The noise sounded like bearing not being lubricated, which that is what it ended up being. The noise got so loud that even with all my very expensive electronics (my home entertainment ctr equipment) I could not hear the TV which goes through an expensive Yamaha AV Receiver and those expensive Infinity speakers 7 channel system. The main bearing for the wash drum assembly was bad. After two emails and several phone calls to both Lowes and Whirlpool, Whirlpool was going to send the so-called re-engineered drum assembly. The style I have is 3 parts; the new one according to Whirlpool is one part, but if they put the same bearing in, youre going to end up with the same problem in another year. I live in a condo of just over 920 sq. ft. so really there is no room to repair them in my home, but that is what they are going to do. I will be getting the new drum assembly delivered to my condo and have the repair company doing this dirty job in the middle of my living room.Living in a condo, I have a small utility closet next to the kitchen where the furnace, hot water tank, and washer and dryer are. The closet needs to have some areas cut out with and installed two small hinged doors on each side, so if anything ever needs to be repaired or replaced, there would be a little bit more room to move items in or out. The problem getting the washer out is getting the dryer moved so you can disconnect the electrical plug, cold water hose for the steam, plus the vent hose. First, you have to get to the water valves which are very hard to reach. Because of the way cluster housing is made, they squeeze things into very small holes like the faucets and drain hose are located. I was asked by the repair person if I could help him lift these items out of the closet. I have had 7 fusion back operations and #7 left me in constant pain that I take a narcotic drug for pain daily. So, I called Whirlpool back and said the repair people were only going to send a tech. I was told that it is a two-man job: one tech and one helper. So Lowes needs to authorize two people since Whirlpool is sending the new drum assembly for free. I wish I could have gotten a new washing machine with the so-called re-engineered drum assembly. I am still probably going to have to squeeze between the bulkhead (wall) and the washer and dryer to disconnect everything since I am a small person. If I wasnt retired, I would have bought a different brand front loading washer and dryer, probably Bosch and took the loss on these piles of Junk. I love my country and do my very best even as hard as it is in this day and age to buy US. I served my country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, just to see the civilians willfully buy Asian everything. So now, we have 4 Asian nations that own this country. I dont know why Whirlpool changed from a company that you could trust their products to a company that doesnt give a damn what they put out the back door. These companies still havent gotten the clue why folks buy goods from other countries. I think they need to open their eyes, but I guess with Whirlpool still being a company that is selling a very large number of appliances and making money off of us, suckers, they dont need to change. The only way they are going to change is if folks stop buying their junk.

Whirlpool Cambridge Model #WTW7300DW0 - Someone needs to help us consumers with this wash machine purchase being refund our money back from Whirlpool. It literally eats my clothes. I have 23 shirts that have pin holes in them and 1 shirt with large holes in it. I also have a ruined comforter and blanket. The comforter has soap stains everywhere which dont come out so its not cleaning the clothes, the blanket (which Ive had for over 30 years) was frayed one side, seam torn off - the piece never came out of the wash machine. I have pictures attached of the damaged. Its suppose to be Water Efficient - thats a joke! I do 1 set of king sheets. It runs for an hour and 20 minutes and fills water to the rim of the washer and does this twice. Id like them to pay for my water bills! Oh they came to service it only to tell me I was putting the clothes in wrong. The service company said I had to put the clothes against the sides and leave the middle open. They told me there was nothing wrong but consumer error. Well I did clothes today and aligned them like the service company said - 4 more shirts were ruined. Called Whirlpool today. They said they were sending someone else out to fix the problem and said, Unfortunately, we dont pay for damaged goods. Well from all the reviews I read Whirlpool needs to suck it up and recall this piece of crap they call a wash machine. Did I mention its only 1 year old, yea this is horrible!

I bought a top of the line Whirlpool front load washing machine (WFW97HEDW0) and drier with my new construction house. After a few months the washing machine began making a loud, banging noise during the spin cycle. Then about a month before the 1 year was up the unit broke and dumped all the water in the drum into the catch pan it was installed on. I called for service and someone showed up in about 3 days. The tech opened the unit and found that the plastic/composite drum the spin unit was contained in split in half all the way around. The tech exclaimed he had never come across this issue and would report in what he found but that he did not have the part and it would most likely be a whole new unit but that its up to whirlpool to make the call. I would find out that whirlpool had decided that the unit can be fixed and they have ordered the part and would call to schedule the repair.A week went by, with no word. I called warranty service company, Via Services, and they tell me that the part is on back order and that it would be two more weeks before it would come in. Now were looking at being without a washing machine for a month. I communicate this to the builder and they somehow get whirlpool to come out a week earlier than they said they could. The day came for the repair and two techs take nearly 8 hours to repair the unit (how is this efficient?).After the repair the unit ran with an odd noise that I attributed to the way it was stacked. A month goes by and two days after the 30 day repair warranty I go to do a load of laundry and the unit turns on but wont run. I called for warranty work because it was clearly not repaired sufficiently. I schedule a tech visit which is for a week after. The day come and the tech says he cant fix the unit without charging me for the repair because it is now out of warranty and if I have the extended warranty then I need to set that up with the extended warranty group. I send him away because I had just paid for the extended warranty. I called whirlpool for the extended warranty work and they schedule a repair contractor to come out in 3 days. The repair contractor calls me directly to confirm if the unit is side by side or stacked. I let them know that the units are stacked and they say they cant repair it because its a two tech job and they dont have enough techs. They send me back to talk to whirlpool. Whirlpool then notifies me that because its stacked I have to either unstack it myself or hire someone to unstack it for me. Well, I cant unstack the unit by myself and why should I have to pay someone to unstack it when thats what the unit was designed for? At this point I am going back and forth with the builder to get a refund so I can replace the unit. I will forever steer clear of any whirlpool or subsidiary products. The products are flimsy and the service is no better.

We have not purchased ice cream since the second time this piece of junk broke down. This is my FOURTH REPAIR (3 COMPRESSORS, 1 EVAPORATOR, AND, 1 CONTROL PANEL). All but the last repair occurred during the warranty period but Whirlpool refuses to replace the unit. We purchased a dishwasher for $650 and within a very short period of time, the upper rack was so squeaky that it was intolerable. Service guys came and replaced the rack and wheels and all was well until a few months passed and it happened again. At that point, it was outside of the warranty, so we called upon our extended warranty we bought through Whirlpool. Guess what? That warranty doesnt cover the racks. So they referred us back to Whirlpool. They told us we had to pay for it ourselves. After being treated like a ping pong ball several times, we ended up paying about $150 for labor for another guy to come out and replace the racks again. Whirlpool agreed to pay for the parts. A few months later, we again have a squeaky upper rack that is so loud it wakes people up in our house and its less than two years old at this point. Weve been sold a LEMON!! Just got off the phone with a supervisor at Whirlpool who said they cant do anything about it and wont acknowledge we have a lemon. My 2 year Jennaire (made by Whirlpool) broke down on 12/14/11. Repairman came out on 12/19. He said that the compressor was not working and ordered another and he came out again on 12/22. He said that it could not be fixed (internal leak or something). An aside to this story was that a tank of compressed oil blew and damaged my hallway and kitchen walls and floors and 2 rugs. That was being handled by the repairmans insurance company. We called Whirlpool and they said that they we could pick out a new refrigerator priced at no more than $2399 even though we paid $2799 for the Jennaire and would have to pay the difference for a model costing more. We went with a Maytag (Whirlpool product) that listed for $2899 but was available at 2 local stores for $2050 and $2100 but I had to give Whirlpool anther $500 because they use the MRP.They finally delivered it on 1/5/12 but would not leave it because no one disconnected the water line to the appliance and they would not touch it. It took me 20 seconds to do it and if they would have told me so it would have been done on the 5th. Rescheduled delivery for 1/8/12 and the unit was delivered damaged (large dent in front) and they would not temporarily leave it until a replacement came.I called Whirlpool again and asked them to just call a local Home Depot or anyone in my area (all had the unit in stock) to deliver one but they told me that it must come from the warehouse in Michigan (I live in PA) and that it would be yet another 5 to 10 business days to receive it. So, I am paying $700 more for a unit that I could have bought and had delivered before Christmas not to mention the inconvenience of no unit for a month. Not to mention the damage to my home, $200+ dollars in thrown away food, time to shop for new unit, time for 2 repairman appointments and time for the 2 deliveries thus far and countless phone calls to Whirlpool to get the new unit.Today is 1/10/12, so I guess Ill have by month end if there are no other problems, you would think that they would try to expedite this just because its been so long or give us a substantial credit for all the trouble. Never again Whirlpool.

Went back to Lowes and they will not honor my claim to replace the unit. I now have to purchase a new machine since this one is useless. Never will I buy a Whirlpool again and dont you either!!!

I have had my Cabrio set for two years only and the washer has a error code of F6 and E3... pretty much does not work properly and need to swap out main control board which is about 200-300 for the part. I’m very disappointed in this product for as much I have spent on it. My old school top loader lasted longer than this piece of junk! I believe the steam from the wash is going up into the control board and messing it all up! Water and electricity does not mix! Maybe they need to relook at their products. I want my money back!!!

Whirlpool Cabrio - Clothes come out of the washer wrinkled, twisted and soap stained. I use the exact soap products they recommend in the proper amounts. Bought them in September of 2014. Wish I could return them. Too low of a water level that cannot be adjusted. Not fully rinsing the soap out of the clothes. Washing takes twice as long as with my former 25 year old washer. Dryer is new technology and energy efficient yet wont remove wrinkles from permanent press clothes.Uses hardly any water so clothes must be rinsed at least one or two times to get the soap spots off. Clothes always come out extremely wrinkled. Not all items can be put in the dryer so ironing is back in my life again. Some items come out so twisted and wrinkled that ironing wont even help. Dryer isnt much better at all and shirts and pants always have some wrinkles. Have had to bring some items to the dry cleaners to bring them back to a non wrinkled state. Whatever is saved in water and energy is more than made up by ironing and dry cleaning. The company representatives have sent service people out twice and they both said that the machines are performing as they were intended to. I do smaller washes and wash more often to try to get better results. I dont. Even though it is extra large capacity items such as blankets must be washed more than once as the water does not wet the entire blanket.

Washer, barely 6 months old, purchased at Lowes. While my washer cleans and I am happy with it, my washer started making loud noises during the spin cycle. I called Lowes warranty service approx 9/26/13; tech scheduled for 10/8, over a week later. Diagnosis: stripped bearings; total bearings and all tub components must be replaced. Parts ordered to be delivered to my door. Cost of washer: approx $800. Cost of parts: over $1600. Washer cannot be replaced until they have attempted to fix it at least 3 times. Repairman returns on 10/18 to repair. Oops, large plastic tub component shipped broken from manufacturer. Reorder parts for repair on 10/29. Finally a repair BUT A&E left the large tub part saying they had no room to take the part. So now Lowes is trying to arrange to dispose of the huge part sitting in my home. I live in a condo so the part cannot be disposed of in our facility. This has been a nightmare to fix and while customer service was cordial, they were totally unable to provide what is considered excellent customer service. So whose fault is it? I have missed several hours of work to try to get this taken care of. I spent money visiting a laundromat for over a month. I am the customer and guess what that means? Nothing! Now my concern is getting that large part out of my home and whether to buy an extended warranty OR just throw it out if it breaks. Very dissatisfied customer! And no the warranty for this major part overhaul is not a year from installation..... my warranty still starts the day of purchase. Are you serious? My advice: ask your friends about their appliances & esp service if they received it.

We have a new home with a Whirlpool gold refrigerator that has been fixed twice in 3 years for not cooling adequately (over 45 degrees), a dishwasher that the mother board has gone out twice with 3 different service calls (repairman recommended trashing and buying a new one), microwave that is rusted out on inside door below glass, and washer with horrid smell if you dont wash with bleach weekly and dryer whose sensor doesnt sense anymore after 2 service calls!!! I cannot believe the poor customer service and lack of responsibility the company has taken on these not inexpensive products!! Like others on this post they will not acknowledge problems and tell me I should have bought extended warranty. I am so angry - there should be some sort of law that allows recourse for such bad behavior!

I bought the Whirlpool WTW 5000DW1 washer and dryer to go with it. Within the first 2 weeks the plastic handle broke on the dryer. Ive been using the corner of the plastic handle ever since to open the dryer. The washer is the worst washer I have ever purchased in my life. The tub doesnt fill up over the clothes half the time. It is perfectly balanced on the floor but it always bounces around and you cannot open it to rearrange the clothes because they lock the lid. The only option is to try to hold it and wait for it to finish or start over by pressing the button for at least 3 seconds. I have had a few items get shredded by it and a lot of times the clothes dont get cleaned and rinsed properly. Even on 2 rinse option. Just the fact that it has a 2 rinse option is a big red flag. It is supposed to be a energy saver and water saver but that isnt true. If you have to wash and rinse the clothes twice because it has spots from the detergent still on the sheets, something just isnt right. Whirlpool shouldnt even put a product like this on the market. I have owned many Whirlpool products before this but this is the last Whirlpool product I will ever buy. Obviously Whirlpool doesnt test its products or care about quality.

Doesnt wash clothes properly - often some items of clothing just dont get wet. After 3 years the whole main bearing in it failed, causing unbelievable noise and constant overload faults. All Whirlpool top load washers have this critical design fault where water leaks into the main bearing (the bearing is an unsealed type with a cheap grommet seal) and then after a year or 2 the bearing starts to cease and the machine overloads itself trying to operate. Replacing the bearing means pulling the whole machine apart - and with a cheap press-fit bearing like this, special tools are needed and it will never operate smoothly again anyhow. In any case in 2 years, the faulty bearing seal design will let water destroy the bearing again. Effectively it is not repairable. Sounds like class action to me. So, it became an $1000 paperweight and I bought a new Samsung unit. I assume the Koreans know how to design bearings and seals...

Occasionally, the machine simply decides to stop and drain itself so that you can start all over again!! No idea how long cycle is. Nearly done? No idea. No matter what temp or how much detergent or how much water, the clothes are not clean. The lid locks and so there is no way to know whats going on. I suspect there is very little water during rinse cycle. All of the whirlpool appliances are similarly horrible. Washer is the WORST. Shame on you Made in America.

DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER (Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher)!!! We bought a camp with this dishwasher in it brand new. It has been serviced three times in the past year because the dishes (especially utensils) do not dry. The service company first said it was because I needed to use jet dry. What a joke! I told them I was using jet dry so they sent a service man out. He had to read a manual in order to try and figure out what was wrong with it. He then decided the entire motherboard needed replacing and he would order the part. He came back, replaced the part and it still did not fix the problem.I called again to complain so they sent another service man out and he said the drying air vent may not be working. They came back out to replace it weeks later because the part was on back order. Wonder Why??? I still have to dry the utensils every time I run the dishwasher. The interior walls of the dishwasher are wet even after running through the drying cycle. Either this dishwasher is a lemon or Whirlpool is selling a dishwasher that does not dry to the consumers!!! So BEWARE!!!

We like the Duet Washer because it had a steam cycle and a sanitize cycle plus it has a light inside that helps us see the laundry in our dark room or at night. Also we have been very happy with the cleaning - does a great job and gets the dirtiest clothes clean. We purchased a Duet washer in Feb 2011. On Nov 2011, it started making a very loud noise when it would spin. We contacted the warranty company, not realizing it was still under the manufacturers warranty. The warranty company came out and took a look and claimed it would be about $1500.00 in parts to repair. We contacted whirlpool and they also sent a service person that claimed the same thing. Both service people claimed that the other did something to the machine and it was the others responsibility to fix it. We have contacted whirlpool and the parts have been ordered. We were informed today that they are on backorder and will not be available until some time the middle to the end of January. When asked why they just dont replace the washer, the answer we received was that was not the policy.

OMG. We had just purchased a house in Clermont Fl. At Appliance Direct on Citrus Tower, worse experience. Imagine my husband and myself had recently retired. Therefore we wanted to make sure whatever we purchased was to last since its not easy to replace anything on our fixed income. A few mos later the ice maker would make noise in the middle of the night and would not fill up completely. 1 yr it stopped making ice completely. We went to Appliance Direct only to find out that nothing could have been done. We purchased the extra warranty for approx 391 dollars. We then were told by Whirlpool that we would have to wait 60 days. The time came and the customer service now tells us that the breakdown happened the same month we purchased the warranty so we would have to pay ourselves to have it fixed. We went ahead and paid for the repair.A few mos after the ice maker stopped again and the bottom freezer would not freeze anything. Our food spoiled etc. We called Whirlpool now that the warranty was now ok. We had to wait for an appointment with the company of their choice. The repairman came and stated that the part had to be ordered before we can get ice and freezer working. Waited almost 2 weeks for that. Repair done and soon after, like 4 days later we still didnt have ice. Called again, another company was sent... all over again we waited for 2 parts.. He assured us that we should be good. 2 mos now were getting half capacity ice and freezer doesnt freeze everything. Ice cream is a no no.So much money (2500 dollars) paid for that piece of junk. The repairman told us “forget about replacement, the company will send a repairman once a month if they have to“. Its frustrating and some days I wish I could just put it on the sidewalk for the garbage truck. I cant afford to go out and buy a new one (of course it would not be Whirlpool). In the meantime this company Whirlpool is making all this money from selling these junk. I am mad like hell and tell everyone to stay away from Whirlpool. I wish Id purchased a Samsung instead. I could climb the top of a mountain and shout: Dont buy Whirlpool.

I have many rentals, and for over 39 years have always bought Whirlpool dishwashers for them and my own home. I have noticed over the last 15 years or so they are getting more and more poorly made. First I quit buying the plastic tub ones because they collected mold on the back. Then putting one in a rental, we went through 3 brand new ones that all leaked before we got a good one. Now, I bought the very best for my home 2 years ago, had the pump replaced under warranty due to leaks. Now, the plastic upper rack wheel has snapped off its plastic base. For under 30 dollars you get a replacement kit for it, that is all metal. So why didnt Whirlpool just put in the metal ones and charge a little more. So this will be my last Whirlpool, and all the brands they make. Do your research, many of the name brands you know are all made by Whirlpool.

Whirlpool under-counter dishwasher (model DU1345XTVB0) was purchased 14 months ago. Upper rack plastic adjustable wheel rack is broken. Will not replace. Dishwasher has probable design flaw with wheel positions causing overhanging load to put extreme stress on outer two wheels. My oven was 11 months old when I tried to use the self-clean cycle for the first time. 2 hours into the 4 hour cycle, the oven completely shut down, door locked shut and no lights on the control panel. The repair tech came out on a warranty repair call (no charge), explained that Whirlpool does not use a thermal protector rated for a self-cleaning oven and that it blows every time. He then proceeded to replace it with the same thing because he is only allowed to put in the recommended part, which is not rated for the high temp cleaning cycle. So the oven is usable, but not the self-clean. Since I am at the end of the 1 yr warranty period, even if I were able to get Whirlpool to replace the oven (ha!) there would be no warranty because I only get the original time limit. So if I had a new oven and it blew out, it would not be under warranty for fix/replace. The repair tech said this is a COMMON problem with Whirlpool self-clean.

We purchased the Whirlpool Gold Series smooth top stove from Lowes in December of 2013. The stove is not even 2 years old and it doesnt work. Last September, I noticed a few times that while baking food in the oven, it was burnt after only 10 minutes, due to a runaway temperature. After that, the oven wouldnt heat up properly, it would take too long to bake anything because the temperature wouldnt reach the reading on the display. Then it just stopped baking or broiling all together with the error Feature unavailable. Weve had a serviceman out at least 3 times. Of course, the warrantys run out and its cost us close to $500 to keep fixing it, and two motherboards and a bottom element later, its still not fixed.
