I have a gas range Model WFG540HOESO Airlift self clean. When anyone reaches across or leans against the range, ever so slightly, the knobs turn and gas is released. It is EXTREMELY dangerous. The Airlift self clean has never worked. When the repairman contacted the technicians at Whirlpool, they told him that there was nothing they could do. In other words, I am stuck with an oven that will not self clean. The water in the bottom does not even come to a boil.

I bought a high-efficiency Whirlpool washing machine in August 2011. One week after the warranty ran out, it stopped working. I called Whirlpool who, of course, would not fix my problem because I no longer had a warranty but did put me in touch with a repair company in my area. They came out and fixed it for 100 bucks, service and parts (service, of course, cost more than the part/labor). I didnt mind the hundred bucks, whatever. My washer was working again. Two weeks ago, I experienced yet another problem with my washing machine. Now, I understand machines getting used a lot over the years and eventually burning out, but this machine is a little more than a year old. I should not be experiencing problems with such a new machine. The problem was when the machine reached the spin cycle, it would just stop working and then lights would start blinking, blah, blah, blah. I called the repairman again who came out and reset my machine, hoping that that would work. He then told me if it happened again to let him know and he would have to replace the motherboard. Okay, I can live with that. Another 73 bucks, thats fine. Of course, this didnt work, and we ended up replacing the motherboard. Another 178 bucks - thats $324 that I have now invested in a washing machine, half of what it cost to begin with. But its an investment, right? And I need clean clothes so whatever.I was a little wary when the repairman told me that a problem with the motherboard may be related to a problem with the motor, that it can send signals to the motherboard if its not working and is just a symptom of the actual diagnosis. I guess he was right because 3 loads into using my newly repaired washing machine and the same problem has arisen, yet again. I refuse to invest any more money into what is obviously a lemon. Rest assured I will never again purchase a Whirlpool product, regardless of what type of appliance it is.

Whirlpool wdf530plym4 - Bought this dishwasher 5/13. Sat for 3 months in the box while my kitchen was being built. 7/14 pump motor went out, called Whirlpool, they set me up with an appliance repair company, and I ended up paying $90. The technician was being nice, charging me less than he needed to since he said it was an easy fix. 1/26/2015 pump motor went out again. Called Whirlpool again. Lady on phone was very snooty with me, telling me it was out of warranty. Told them I was very dissatisfied, my dishwasher has broken 2x in 18 months and all she said was, I should have bought the extended warranty. Dishwasher is not even 2 years old and already needs to be fixed 2x. The most expensive part on the machine I may add. Going my average, I can keep dumping $130 every 9 months to have a working dishwasher by Whirlpool. I would understand if the thing broke after 2 or 3 years. I only run the thing 2 or 3x a week at the most.

We have a Whirlpool French door refrigerator with freezer drawer in bottom that is 2 years old. It makes a loud buzzing noise and freezes up in back of the freezer, as in a defrost problem. We have had THREE repairmen here to fix the problem, and after $650 in parts and labor, the same problem exists. Finally we were told that this $170 beautiful Whirlpool refrigerator is deemed repairable and is junk. Whirlpool will not remedy the problem and three service techs cannot seem to repair it. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product... EVER!

I have a Whirlpool cabrio washer (Model: wtw6300 Serial Number: CT3573525) and I am very disappointed with it. The spin cycle is the worst--sounds like a jet engine and gives me the UL error message of unbalance load. The machine was purchased in 2007 but was kept indoors. At the beginning, I didnt care because I had warranty with BrandsMart. I had to call at least four times. But now, I bought the automatic control and it didnt work. For two days, I was trying to balance this machine but it is impossible since the beginning.I contacted customer service and they advised me to contact the repair service in my area to get a diagnostic analysis of the issue. Hello! I already know what the problem is after reading all these reviews! I cannot tell you how pissed off I am. I will never purchase anything Whirlpool. Two of the gas burners of my Whirlpool kitchen, after two years of use, are no longer working. I will definitely contact BBB as soon as possible. Come on, fellow complainants, let us continue to fight to get a possible recall soon! We all have the same problem because this is a manufacturing defect!

This machine, like all other water sensor machines, will not let you wash a few items that are lightweight without filling the whole machine up almost all the way. The reason being is that if the items are light, they will float in the water above the water level and the sensor thinks it needs to put more water in and even with putting something in to weigh it down like a wet towel doesnt always work, nor should you have to do this. You will waste more water in the long run if you only have a few items to wash, ie baby clothes, underwear, rags, etc. I am so disappointed that I had no other choice but to get this machine.

Whirlpool Gold French Door refrigerator freezer on bottom - I purchased my refrigerator at Lowe’s on 9/26/12 and it cooled OK for the first 3-4 months but it was very noisy along with water dripping from the ice maker door. Then sometime in Feb. my freezer started to warm so I contacted Lowe’s service and they scheduled Tech. to come the following week. He found that freezer evaporator was freezing - suspected a leak and ordered one. Replaced that, and a short time later it was warm again. To make a long story short they have been to my house approx a dozen times replacing the freezer evaporator, control boards, adding refrigerate, and replace the reversing valve, and no time at all it was warm in the freezer again. Tech could not find anything wrong with it and added a little refrigerate and the problem was solved... I thought! Two months later the freezer was warming again. Now they say it’s the evaporator on the cold food side has a leak and needs replacing. Been waiting two weeks now on parts. Talked with Whirlpool and Lowe’s about replacement with a new unit but they tell me they only cover parts and labor. Needless to say this is my last Whirlpool appliance!!

There are plenty of reviews on this board already about how the so called AquaLift technology for oven cleaning is completely worthless so I wont repeat what they have already so eloquently described. AquaLift has managed to take us back in time to around 1947 or whenever it was before the old easy off oven cleaner was invented. I purchased the cleaning kit (affinity) as well but it doesnt do much of anything. The only people who might consider purchasing a stove with AquaLift are those who do no roasting or broiling of meat. The oven looks beautiful, so maybe it could be for those who enjoy a show kitchen and prefer takeout.

We bought Whirlpool Gold Series on July 6, 2014. Refrigerator, range, microwave & dishwasher. Our refrigerator - we have the repair company out almost every month cause the icemaker was constantly icing up and wasnt making the ice cubes single, would come out all attached to each other. So after arguing with Lowes and Whirlpool we were able to get a different refrigerator in February of 2015. Now in April 2015 we are having trouble with our microwave with the light flickering off and on when we open the door and sometimes it work and sometimes it doesnt. The repair company has been out 3 times for the same problem telling me that where the door closes are 2 latches that when not lined up cause this issue, so the repair company replaced the 2 latches and a month later it started happening again. So they came out and replaced the light socket. Now we will see how long that last. Now for the range which is the AquaLift Self-Cleaning which doesnt clean the oven at all. It was like I was back in the early 1950s, only worse. The baked on grease spots, you cannot get off at all. To me this is false advertising and the stores personnel lied to about all you have to do is pour 2 cups of water in the bottom of the oven, press the self-cleaning button and after 40 minutes of cleaning and letting the oven cool a bit you just have to wipe the oven down with a damp cloth and the oven is clean. Not so much!!!Wish I had all my old appliances back because they were made to work correctly. The new appliances suck for the amount of money you pay for them. So please beware and do research on the appliances you want to purchases otherwise you will get ripped off with no satisfaction for your hard earned money you spent on them. I have always had Whirlpool appliances and have loved them but these new ones we purchased are nothing but junk.

I paid about $3500 for this, alleged, top of the line fridge a little over 2 years ago. The freezer, bottom type, doesnt get cold enough to thoroughly freeze food. Called Sears, they said out of warranty, the same with whirlpool. But they can have a tech run a diagnostic check for $85. Here we go. They suck more money out of the consumer game, and try to baffle them with **, legal jargon. FYI for all. Dont buy Whirlpool from any store selling Whirlpool products, any Whirlpool products. Once the middle men get the picture, they will stop ordering or buying from Whirlpool.Whirlpool are a bunch of con artists selling crappy products with false integrity. They are the typical old school door to door salesman that sells a crappy product then is on the run to the next state. No receipt or order number. I bought the product two years ago but here is the Serial number K30416919 and the Model number WRF989SDAM00. What happened to fridges that lasted at least 10 years? An outdated computer costs more and lasts longer than their products.

Whirlpool refrigerators with bottom freezers have a major defect in a tiny drainage hole hidden inside the back panel. The hole easily gets blocked with bits of debris during manufacturing or with a few bread crumbs, then it freezes shut. Then water ends up all over your floor. You cannot fix it yourself as you have to take apart the whole freezer. The repair bill is huge. This will happen often. Check on the internet and YouTube to verify & you will see that this happens to everyone with a Whirlpool. Also your floor will be ruined if you dont mop it up every few days until the repairman arrives! Stay away from Whirlpool!!

Apparently the bearings go out of these machines when you use them! I called the company and all they want to do is sell me an extended warranty for over $300.00 for another year! Not doing that! I paid over $1,000.00 for this machine. I thought it would last a long time! Wrong! Please save your money and get a simple old fashioned one! I sure wish I had! Purchased from Home Depot and self-installed. That part was not too big a deal but after installing this stove we started a journey of irritation, aggravation and general dissatisfaction. This stove has the standard layout for burners that seem to be common to most low-end stoves. Two huge burners in the front, a simmer burner at the right rear and a general purpose burner at the left rear. Thats all wrong for me and our set up. I want a large burner at the left rear and general purpose every place else. Can you alter the standard configuration? NO! Not without some major alterations to the stove top.Next are the grills or cast cooktops (2 each). They are a bit cumbersome when cleaning the stove but doable. The real problem with the grills are Whirlpool decided to save money by skimping on this feature. The grills are not a stable cooking platform for smaller pans and it turns out Whirlpool recommends square pans for this stove. SAY WHAT? I have pans and skillets from my grandparents and they are ALL round. Thats how that stuff is made. ROUND! The grills design is unstable for any round pot, pan or skillet, if its diameter, is 6 or less. Kiss that excellent saucepan goodbye if you have this stove. My current solution is a piece of light expanded steel over the burner areas.Keeping in mind we use Propane as our heating gas. The adjustment of the flame temp on the four burners is non-existent. They all are either on high, medium or low. There seems to be no fine tuning with these burners. At the end of the day go look for something that is NOT a Whirlpool, LP gas range Model #: WFG515S0EW. You will be better served and less irritable with almost anything else. Even a campfire in the yard is a better choice.

I had noticed water on the floor and just thought someone left the freezer open. It started happening about every other day. I read online that it was probably from the drain in the bottom on the freezer being clogged or frozen, and I found instructions on how to fix it. After we took the door off, the drawers out, and the back panel off, then we started thawing the drain. Finally, I got it cleared out. Here I am, a month later, there’s water on the floor again.

Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer: nice job Whirlpool! You designed a washer that breaks if you accidentally wash a coin! For the second time in a few months, were fixing our washer because a coin was in a pocket. The coin gets sucked into the discharge pump and sounds like popcorn popping when it drains. It rattles around the inside of the machine’s pump until it breaks the plastic pump housing. You will know when this happens because there will be water on your floor. Did you ever consider a screen to prevent a coin from ruining the washer? God forbid someone leaves a coin in their pocket. Well, if you leave a coin in your pocket and wash your jeans, it will cost you a repair every time with this hunk of junk. This would be my last Whirlpool. It will actually be cheaper to throw this thing out and buy a new one, since it won’t be the last time a coin accidentally makes it into the washer.

Whirlpool Gold Series gas oven with Aqua Lift. Very unhappy with this oven. Cons: Aqua Lift technology doesnt work AT ALL (manual cleaning required); stove top hard to clean; 2 front gas burners are super burners which is fine for boiling water, but too hot for regular cooking. Would be better to have one super burner in the middle or back but two upfront is way too hot for regular cooking, even on lowest setting. We purchased a Whirlpool Accubake Drop-in Stove (Model # RS675PXG015) on 10/21/2006 from Lowes Companies, which cost $1,100.00. In 11/2012, we had an error message E1-F2, and we tried everything to get it to clear - all suggestions given by electrical repairman who does repair for Lowes Cos. The stove is porcelain, which also has problems of staining that cant be cleaned. We were told the repair would cost $200 for the panel, and if that doesnt work, another $400 for the other panel. In reviewing other complaints for this Whirlpool stove, there are enough complaints to recall this item or at least give deep cuts for the parts to repair this stove. We have purchased other Whirlpool items, and this one is not well made and too costly to repair. It should last at least 15 years or more. Cant Whirlpool do something about this obvious problem?

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in May and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We have had a technician out to our home three times. Whirlpool said that the next time the technician comes out to your house, you will have to pay for it and we have the extended warranty! The problems with the washing machine are many. 1. Leaves white streaks on dark clothes. 2. Not enough water covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. 3. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. 4. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking.5. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. The dryer is equally terrible. As I write this, I have two pairs of jeans going through the dryer for the third time. According to the technician, a heat sensor determines whether the clothes are dry. We have not had one load of laundry, big or small, that has dried in one cycle. But the technician said that this is how this machine works. We have tried all the cycles. According to Customer Service, the technicians found nothing wrong with the machines hence, we will have to pay for the next repair call. If you are looking at this machine and dryer, dont! Do not waste your money or your time. Washing laundry is a nightmare because the machines do not do what they are supposed to do --wash and dry the clothes.

What a horrible experience. I purchased a Whirlpool Duet HE Front Loading Steam Washer in 9/9. I have used it no more than 15 times. It has an error code F70. I called Whirlpool and used one of their recommended technicians. He was there for no more than five minutes and he informed me that it was one of the two parts--one is $300, the other is $500. Both these parts are computer chips. He instructed me to call Whirlpool stating that they would give me the parts for free. I did, and they refused stating that the product is now out of the one-year warranty. This is clearly defective. I am now faced with $1,000 fix. I feel that I was further misled by Whirlpool because they should have told me before the service call that I was going to have to pay $1,000. The customer service reps and the manager were both unresponsive and rude.

My Whirlpool French Door refrigerator will have its TWO year old birthday on September 15, 2015.. only if it lives that long! On August 8, one month and one week short of its 2nd birthday the compressor died. Of course the manufacturers warranty expired after one year. Thankfully, I purchased an extended warranty through the retailer. While this will cover my repairs, there is nothing that will cover the hundreds of dollars worth of spoiled frozen and refrigerated products which had to be discarded. I will NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT!

In open concept homes, manufacturers need to consider the refrigerator’s noise — ice makers included. We hear every single clink and buzz. We love (and prefer) the french door concept, but the freezer drawer, when it’s fully loaded, is difficult to open and close. Also, the stainless steel scratches WAY too easily.

We bought the Gold Series Whirlpool fridge (Model WRF990SLAM00) in December
We bought the Gold Series Whirlpool fridge (Model WRF990SLAM00) in December 2013. A few months after its first repair, (dripping on the top left inside of the fridge), which happened within the first year and was covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, it started to make an incredibly loud whirring sound that kept us up at night. Our bedroom is upstairs and far away from our kitchen, and I had to sleep with earplugs to not hear the noise. We tested the noise on a decibel app and it came in between 66-70. A normal fridge noise level should be around 52 decibels. We had a repairman come out and he replaced a fan even though he told me it wasnt going to fix the problem. Wait, what? After he replaced the fan and the whir continued, we called Lowes extended warranty again, and they sent out a different company: 1-800-Appliance.The second guy replaced two kits and found some issue with the ice maker, which we were not even aware of, but the noise remained, and he then had the gall to say it was a normal noise. If it was normal, wouldnt it have been making that noise the first year we had it? We had 1-800-Appliance come out again and he determined he couldnt fix it, so Lowes sent another guy from the same company, and he replaced the same fan that the first guy replaced, which was clearly not the problem. Three perfectly good fans were wasted. BTW, the repairman who said the noise was normal told us that the fridge had a part that was made to be replaced after purchase because if Whirlpool had the part at the point of sale, the fridge would not meet the Energy Star standards. Hello, lawsuit! After three repairs for the same problem and five visits that did not fix the problem, we were told Lowes would issue us a return order in three days. Finally! Not so fast... one week later, no one called, so I called them and then Lowes denied having told us that! We gave them the name of the person who told us they would take the fridge back, but the woman on the other end said she had no record of that (how convenient) and, despite the California lemon law requiring only three attempts at a repair, they would require yet another attempt by one of their repairmen. She told me that if he determined the noise was abnormally loud and not repairable, then she could contact the manufacturer and go from there. So they sent a guy from the first company out and he wrote down that the fridge was not repairable and was very noisy. He said that should take the fridge back at that point. My husband called Lowes several days later after not being contacted by them and they told him that they need to send a different repairman out from 1-800-Appliance and that only 1-800-Appliance could determine if we could get a refund. If that was true, then why send the other company out? By the way, the second guy sent out by 1-800-Appliance wrote down that the noise was very loud and wasnt fixed by his repair. But the notes Lowes said they received from him didnt say that at all. They told me that he wrote that the noise level was normal. I am starting to think there is collusion between Lowes and 1-800-Appliance. Something very wrong here. So, six visits later and horrible customer service from both Lowes and 1-800-appliance, we are now being told that the repairs need to be 30 days apart from each other before they will issue a return. If the cause of the noise was never actually repaired, then why do we have to wait a month between repairs? We continue to jump through the hoops that Lowes keeps throwing our way, but it is now clear that they have no intention of taking the fridge back. The fridge is less than two years old, and we have the extended warranty. We couldnt take the noise any further because it felt like it was causing hearing loss and after several months of that horrible sound we were both on edge, so we bought an amazingly quiet fridge from Pacific Sales, and they assured us that they would not do to us what Lowes did. Pacific Sales pride themselves with having good customer service. Lowes seems to have taken delight in lying to us, selling us a lemon, and then not righting a wrong. We have moved the loud piece of ** into our garage, and if Lowes continues to change the rules of a return and act in collusion with 1-800-appliance, probably in hopes that we will simply throw in the towel, then at least we dont have to hear that horrible sound in the meantime. If they dont do the right thing and take back the fridge, then we will simply keep calling out a repairman to fix the problem. We have three more years of our warranty, and if Lowes doesnt do the right thing, we will make them pay for this one way or another. Viva la revolucion!!

We travel more than 6 months out of the year, so we have not had excess usage from the refrigerator. After only a few months, the plastic drawers started to crack. Now, after less than a year and a half, all my drawers are cracked, as well as all my door bins. I will be married 50 years in December, have owned refrigerators for all those years, and this is the first time that I have ever had a drawer crack, let alone all of them, as well as the door bins.

Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for
Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for over 25 years and done a great job of washing my heavily soiled clothes. One day it refused to run and I tried to get parts for it but it had become obsolete and no parts were to be found for it, so I had to buy a new washer. I chose whirlpool again and let me say that it was a huge mistake. This model is a low water, high efficiency, top loading machine. It has nubs in the bottom that agitate to clean the clothes. The first time that I used the machine, I found that I had made a mistake purchasing this machine. It does not clean the clothes and there is NOTHING efficient about this machine. I have to run the washer twice to clean my clothes and they are still not clean. It leaves soap in the clothes and does not rinse them clean of the soap. What it does very well is extract water from the clothes during the spin cycle. This washer really turns up the high RPM`s on spin cycle. It has ripped apart several of my shirts during spin cycle. Whirlpool really failed badly on this machine. I see clearly now that Whirlpool is not the company that they used to be back in the 1980`s. I still have the whirlpool dryer that I bought back in the 1980`s and it still works very well. To end this story, I loaded up this NEW WASHER in the back of my truck and took it to the scrap yard and I asked them to destroy it in front of my eyes. I wished that I had recorded the destruction of this piece of JUNK and posted it on YouTube for the world to see. I got over $450.00 of pleasure watching the crane operator completely destroy this pile of crap. GREAT JOB WHIRLPOOL … YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER FOREVER. I WILL NEVER BUY ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE and will advise others not to buy Whirlpool products as well. I am a male, 62 years old and work hard for my ill spent money on your JUNK. Life is always a trial, live and learn the hard way. Warning to all consumers. Do not buy Whirlpool products ever!!!! I bought a brand new KitchenAid stainless steel refrigerator for close to $3,000.00. It has a big crack in the back casing which Im sure is affecting the seal. It is still under manufacturers warranty. Whirlpool sent out a technician to put a yellowish plastic epoxy to seal the crack. When I told him that this was unacceptable as it dries yellowish and has a dull finish he explained that that was all Whirlpool was willing to do.I have been dealing with Whirlpool for 4 weeks now and they refuse to repair the crack and they deny any manufacturing defect. I have sent them pictures of the crack and they still refuse to resolve this issue. Very bad, horrible experience with customer service, long waits on the phone, rude and ineffective employees. This CLEARLY is a company that will not stand by their product and I recommend everyone to CLEARLY stay away from purchasing any Whirlpool products. They will be paying a lot of money for very poorly manufactured products. Please, please, do not purchase Whirlpool products! You will be happier spending money on a company that values you as a customer before and after the sale. Obviously Whirlpool would rather forget you after they have sold you their product and have their money. Thank you for reading this. I hope I have saved potential appliance customers from making the same mistake I made. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL!

I purchased 4 Whirlpool appliances late 2014. The French door refrigerator close to a year later made a piercing sound several times during a day. I immediately contacted Whirlpool and the representative directed me to YouTube to listen to the normal sounds the refrigerator would make. My first thought was I have been a homeowner for 30 years and countless appliances and never heard such a horrible sound. At the same time they sold me an extended warranty over the phone. He assured me sounds were covered. The sound just kept getting louder and more frequent. I could not take this piercing sound and called back. They sent a local repair service. At the time the repair person came out the refrigerator was not making the sound. I played a video recording and the repairman even said what an terrible sound it was. He continued to check everything over and said - everything looks good. I dont know what the sound is coming from. I asked, What is Whirlpool going to do? He said, nothing, the warranty ran out and your extended warranty does not cover sounds. What a ripoff! Now the drawers broke and another thing they wont cover! I also have problems with the dishwasher I purchased at the same time. Even putting on the extended hot dry I need to wipe everything off. I should have just open a window a tossed out over 2k. The sound is so horrible I am being forced to junk the refrigerator and purchase a new one. Dont purchase Whirlpool and never purchase extended warranty over the phone.

In January 2016 we ordered a Whirlpool Dishwasher through Home Depot. First, Whirlpool delivered the wrong dishwasher and the installer took my old one away - leaving minimal options to correct the problem quickly. Home Depot did not make the order Model # error but they did compensate for the error. Now, with 18 months of very low use (2 in household - prewashing all the dishes) the pump on the dishwasher is gone. Before posting this review I contacted Whirlpool via email. Two weeks later I had a phone message and I returned the call only to wait for 30 minutes to get through to a customer service agent who could offer absolutely no solutions or compensation for their poor quality product or service. Purchased a Whirlpool water heater (model ND50T122-403) through Lowe’s in Dec 2013. Later discovered online it fraught with breakdown issues. 11 months later ours broke down. Whirlpool Customer Service first told us We dont have any authorized plumbers in your area. Went to Lowe’s the next day - they called on their hotline and we got a call back from Whirlpool that afternoon. Told us part would ship out immediately (arrived next day - no complaints there) and gave us an authorization for 2 plumbers. Both are over 35 miles away and one is out of state. Called once the part arrived... First one said hed try to get to us in the next 4-7 days; second one said We get to warranty work as fill-in work. Well put you on a list and call if were going to be in your area. While we did a bit of web research before buying this water heater, we really should have taken the model number, gone home and googled it before buying. At the beginning of July suddenly all I got was cold water. The machine is still under warranty so I called and I got an authorized repair person who came out and replaced the mixing valve.. then I went to wash clothes and yes all I got was cold water. The authorized repair person came out and could not figure why. He called Whirlpool tech dept and they told him it was working the way it was supposed to. Now it does not give any warm water so I do not know how the tech person can make that statement. They then sent yet another authorized repair person from a different repair company and yet again the tech person said it is working the way it is supposed to. IT IS NOT WORKING THE WAY IT WORKED WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND THE WAY IT WORKED FOR 9 MONTHS. When I called customer disservice they kept repeating, our tech people say it is working the way it is supposed to. Then they tried to tell me it was the ground water. Water filtration unit was leaking only when someone got water. It pooled into the bottom of fridge and ran out under the fridge and because of the slope of the floor was running back towards the wall. We didnt notice until our laminate wood flooring was starting to swell up. It was probably leaking since the day we bought fridge brand new, but took us 4 months to notice. Whirlpool said they will not fix our flooring, only the fridge. We had to make a homeowners claim which we did. When the contractor moved the fridge back after replacing all flooring it starting leaking from the ice maker unit. Only when the ice tray filled it would gush out water. Our flooring is now ruined a 2nd time and Whirlpool will not fix the floor. Repairman said that Whirlpool used rigid parts in the water and ice maker units and tons of people are having the same problem. Since there is no flexibility in these parts they break when the fridge is moved. Whirlpool sucks and I am fighting with them and Lowes to get this fridge replaced with a non Whirlpool appliance. In October 2009, I purchased a Whirlpool Energy smart gas water heater with flame lock safety system.$509.00 I had it installed on 5/4/2009 by Westmoreland Affordable Plumbing, $218.00. On 10/15 called Whirlpool stating that the upper thermistor was coding as a failure. They sent me another one to replace it on 10/19/2009. On 10/19/2009, 1 and 1/2 hours later, the tank was coding a bad gas valve, called back and told Whirlpool what had happened and that I smelled gas. I shut off the gas to the water heater and waited for a valve replacement to arrive. On 10/21/2009 I had E.H. Plumbing to install the new gas valve to the water heater, $150.00. On 10/28/2009 the new gas valve went bad. I contacted Whirlpool and argued with them until I had them replace the hot water tank. With their approval I went to Lowes and tried to get the same water tank but they no longer sold that model anymore. I was given their equivalent to the one I had purchased earlier. I had it installed on 10/29/2009, $150.00. I now see a class action suit was filed against Whirlpool for the model in 2008. They were still selling this model after the lawsuit???? I spent $1027.00 for a $509 hot water tank and a lot a days without any hot water. I have all my receipts and returned codes for this transaction. Is it possible to get my $300.00 back (for two extra installations) as a result of this problem? I also kept the old gas valve thermostat.

This Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer Model W10314956B was purchased from Lowes on June 29, 2012. Recently noticed rust appearing under ice/water dispenser tray. Requested warranty service, but was told the problem was considered DUE TO WEAR & TEAR! TOTAL COP-OUT! There are NO MOVING PARTS in this area; how can there be WEAR and TEAR? To my mind, this can only be charged as SHODDY MANUFACTURING or INADEQUATE QUALITY CONTROL by the manufacturer. This appliance is only 6 1/2 years old! Consumers expect refrigerators to last much longer than that. The only possible cause for this problem is as stated above: poor quality control by the manufacturing plant, and I completely discount being told the problem was due to WEAR and TEAR! I will think long and hard before I ever even CONSIDER purchasing another Whirlpool product, and maybe YOU SHOULD TOO!One issue that keeps gnawing at me is HOW, since this is supposed to be a STAINLESS STEEL refrigerator, can it rust? The best answer I found on Google was that its likely due to insufficient chromium in the mixture of metals used to make stainless steel. To me this continues to point to shoddy workmanship at the manufacturing plant. I have pictures of the problem, but for some reason Im unable to copy them to this complaint. Probably because Whirlpool is afraid of pictures that confirm their shoddy craftsmanship!

We purchased a Duet from Lowes just a few months ago. Within 2 weeks we had an inoperable machine. After 2 phone calls a service technician came out and looked it over. He had to come back a total of three times to replace the motherboard. That worked for about six weeks and it died again. He came out again and replaced the motherboard again. Fast forward two months and the machine is once again inoperable. When plugged in, it makes an ominous growling sound but nothing else happens. The idiot who designed this thing has no common sense. Its programmed so that it will LOCK on any failure. Not only has every one of these episodes left us with a load of clothes in there getting moldy, you cant even get to the model number or serial numbers; both of which are only visible inside the rim of the machine. So adding insult to injury, your machine is broken, your clothes are in there getting ruined, and YOU CANT EVEN GET TO THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO SET UP THE SERVICE CALL. If it had only happened once, Id laugh, but this is the third time and its not funny. We bought this machine because it said proudly made in USA. Next time, Ill support the Korean economy and buy a reliable, durable Samsung. The only positive I can offer is that the Whirlpool live chat person was able to set up the service call for me even though I cant get to the relevant data inside the machine. DONT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHER. Despite their legacy and US-feel-good associations, the sad truth is that they are poorly engineered and poorly manufactured.

We bought a Cabrio washer model #WTW7300DW0 and are very unhappy. The clothes come out of the washer dirty, with chunks of soap, (yes we are using HE detergent) and patches of lint on them. The low water design is a joke. The clothes on the top of the load never get into the water. The lid needed repair from the first day we bought it. We have tried all the water settings and the clothes on the top barely move. Why hasnt Whirlpool figured out that this design is just not working? Our three month old washer is headed out of our house one way or another! Notice we didnt give it any stars!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer model # WTW6400SW3 in 2009. There are only 2 of us so the machine is not overworked. You would think it is 20 years old. When it spins, the noise is unbelievable. The bleach dispenser always has liquid in it and the fabric softener gums up like crazy. We have stumbled upon other complaints and now we are really worried. I should have followed my past experience and bought a GE! This is all we need. In todays economy who has cash laying around to throw away like this?

I inherited this microwave when we bought our house and have been very happy with it. It does not take up much space, heats well and evenly and the beep at the end of the cycle is not as irritating as other microwaves I have owned. However, I do find the glass turntable difficult to get back on track after I take it out for cleaning. It will wobble if not put back exactly right.

Not too loud, not too big, not ugly and I would purchase this unit again.

I bought two Whirlpool (Model: bfg1j4o4t3nov4o) natural gas water heaters. The pilot light would go out to so I re-lit it and sit in the attic until the water got hot and the burner go out. But before the burner went out, I could see the flame go from blue to yellow and hear the water dripping down on the burner. So, after the burner goes out, the water would drip down on the pilot light putting it out. They sent me a thermo coupling for free but that was never the problem. The problem is that the water heaters are poorly insulated which causes the water to drip down on the pilot, putting it out. To make a long story short, no part they send will fix these heaters. I have a GE heater in my house for 20 plus years and it is still kicking. I should have went back with that same heater. For some good news, I got my money back from Lowes. I raised so much hell in that store that the manger gave me my money back just to get me out of his store. I made them realize that all we want is our hard-earned money back from a product that does not work.

Our dishwasher stopped working after 13 months. We are a family of 2 and use it once a week. We called Whirlpool and were told since it is past 12 months, they would do nothing but give us the name of a repairman in the area. We called our own repairman and $120 later, the sensor that had malfunctioned was replaced. Quite costly on a $450 dishwasher. Now, after 15 months, the handle on the lower broiler portion of my Range has come off and the screws will not hold because the plastic around them deteriorated. I just called customer service once again, knowing what I would be told and YES was told So sorry, nothing we can do. A new handle will be $45 plus shipping. We bought the refrigerator at that same time and every day, I wait for this appliance to have issues. In summary, Whirlpool/Maytag appliances are obviously made to be disposable after 12 months. They do not stand behind their products and I would not recommend them to anyone.

The end result is our laundry that has been washed - comes out with a musty odor. Not happy at all with the top of the line, best possible machine to produce clean laundry as was sold to us! Bought Sep. 2012. April 2016 stopped cooling. Four visits over 4 weeks, various parts replaced, coolant refilled. Stopped cooling again soon after first 3 visits. After 4th visit cooled moderately (42 degrees) for 5 weeks. June 24, renewed service contract for 1 year for $112. July 12, stopped cooling! Took 8 days for service person to arrive; 5 days for him to tell Whirlpool that repair needed 5 parts, one of which is no longer made! But they sold me a service contract?? 16 days after initial call, Whirlpool says my case is in adjudication, which will take 7-10 business days. So I wont know what they are offering till Aug. 8th-11th. Four weeks living out of a cooler. The product is rotten, and the service is worse.Just recently discovered that all this time when I thought I was talking to Whirlpool, it was actually sub-contracted to AIG. Yes, the AIG that needed a massive government bail-out. Whirlpool customer service refused to talk to me; referred me back to AIG. The only other all-refrigerator (no freezer - I have a 20-year-old Sears freezer in the kitchen that works just fine) I can find is an inch too tall for the space. But I plan to spend for my handyman to raise the cupboard floor above, rather than buy another Whirlpool! Most of May, four weeks in July/Aug without a fridge. Hours on hold. The first service firm they used was incompetent, couldnt find the cause. I wonder how much of my $1,353 purchase cost, and my $112 service contract theyll refund?

My KitchenAid side by side refrigerator/freezer is a beautiful thing, shiny steel surface, gleaming white inside. However, its made poorly. The ice cube maker compartment broke and the replacement came without any installation instructions. It was hard to figure out and I broke it. Now, everything in the refrigerator is freezing and changing the temperature on the digital panel makes no difference. McKinneys appliance, where I bought it, no longer has a refrigeration technician and they referred me to Whirlpools 1-800 number where I supplied some information and sat in my chair on hold listening to music for a half hour before hanging up.The recording on the phone suggested their online chat where I was asked the same sorts of questions and was told I would get the answers I wanted by paying $5.00. I had no idea what I was getting into but I didnt pay, just terminated that inquiry. Feeling cheated by the company whose product I had mistakenly purchased. Im now running the risk of a technician visit, sometime between 8 am and 4 pm a couple of days from now. I have to be prepared to wait around all day for somebody to look at my refrigerator, charge me a lot of money and, from what Ive read online, potentially see the problem return in a very short space of time.

Called the dealer where it was purchased and a repairman was not available for another week. When the repairman showed up and diagnosed the problem which was a leak in the freezer causing ice and the fan to hit the ice, they were not equipped to fix that type of problem. This Whirlpool washing machine is incredibly annoying and slow in everything it does. First off when you press the START button it takes 2-3 minutes before it decides to do anything, like maybe add water (except click, click and more click). If you have pressed the start button and you want to stop it to add something... again you have to wait almost 2-3 minutes before the lock is released and you can open the door. I am at 2 hrs and 15 minutes as I write this on the LIGHT WASH cycle with extra rinse and its still going. I have never seen anything like it. Cant imagine how long a HEAVY CYCLE takes. Cannot even try to measure the time. I put the load in and go to work and hope its complete when Im done 8 hrs later. We had a Maytag for 15 years with no issues (other than a drain hose cracked and had to be replaced) and it was time for a new one with a move to a new place. The sales associate convinced us this was the best machine at the time... Well what a mistake that was. There are no complaints about the actual washing. Everything comes out clean but I suppose taking that long I cant imagine why it wouldnt. I certainly cant recommend a Whirlpool washer to a friend, because I dread the thought of doing laundry at this point.

Worst Air conditioner brand I have ever come across. My personal experience
Worst Air conditioner brand I have ever come across. My personal experience with Whirlpool Air Conditioner is not encouraging. I have used almost all brands of AC but found that the quality of Whirlpool AC is not worth recommending. Please stay away from Whirlpool. I got one Whirlpool 1.5 Ton Split Air Conditioner (Model 3D Cool Xtreme, 6th Sense Climate Control) at my house about 2 years back. I booked a service request with the Whirlpool’s Authorized Service Centre M/s Western Refrigeration Co., NOIDA as the Air-conditioner was not cooling to the desired level. On the first visit on 20-05-2019, the service engineer advised that the AC was not cooling because the gas had drained and the gas is required to be filled for which there will be a charges of Rs 2500/-. Believing him, I agreed for refilling of the gas at his quoted price. He sent next day some other attendant team for filling the gas. Those attendants revealed that in addition to the gas, two valves are also required to be replaced at an additional cost of Rs 1600/-. Though I had a doubt about the correctness of their diagnosis, there being no option, we paid for valves also. Accordingly, a total of Rs 4100/- was paid by us.However, to our utter surprise, the AC stopped cooling within a couple of days. Hence, the service centre was again informed. The complaint was again attended second time on 04-06-2019 and we were told that they have again refilled the Gas.However, again the result was NIL. The AC was not giving cooling effect. Hence, third time again complain was booked. The first attendant once again advised for only gas filling after thorough examination. He sent an another guy on 20-06-2019 for gas filling who then revealed that the cooling effect is not there because the condenser coil is leaking and the same will have to be replaced at an additional cost of Rs 5500/-.The following important points emerges out of the above:- 1) If there was a condenser coil leaking problem, why it was not disclosed to us when the AC was attended earlier by various Service Teams consisting of various attendants in the process from the same service centre? 2) Whether my all money paid earlier for gas filling and changing of two new valves will go waste due to wrong diagnosis by your technicians?3) Keeping in view the earlier wrong diagnosis, I very much doubt the present diagnosis and feel that this is a ploy to extract more money from gullible customer who lacks technical knowledge. We spoke to the service centre officials up to three four levels on the numbers received from the call centre but after listening the matter they assure to call us back. After no call back from their side, when we try to call them, they do not lift our calls. The above facts clearly bring out the cheating, harassment and looting by the Service Centre under the aegis of the so called prestigious company M/s Whirlpool. The hard earned reputation and trust of the Whirlpool is being impaired by these unscrupulous service centre. No punitive action appears to have been taken by Whirlpool office against the unscrupulous service centre for unfair trade practices. Rather the person from Whirlpool office over call was also trying to coax us to pay some more money to the unscrupulous service centre who has already cheated us and extracted money earlier from us with zero results. My Air Conditioner is totally shut off due to mishandling and misdiagnosis by the service centre. We are acutely suffering due to scorching heat and over and above going through the mental harassment for the last two months. We expected an immediate resolution for the above problem on top priority basis without any further additional cost however despite my number of reminder through their toll free number, mail id etc. the problem still remains unresolved and unattended. It is highly disappointing that despite my writing repeated mails with reminders no senior person from Whirlpool has so far taken cognizance of the grievance and the customer has been left in the lurch to be harassed by the highly inefficient, incompetent and indecisive service centre officials who have miserably failed to address the issue and satisfy the customer.

After insisting to my husband that I wanted an HE washer with a large capacity so I could wash comforters and such and be ready for a house full of grandkids and visitors (we recently moved and had to leave my washer and dryer in the old house); I have been very disappointed with the washer. It leaves lint residue all over my clothes! Some of them I just cant get off. I live in Colorado and the sun shines almost everyday! I love to hang my clothes outside to dry and get brightened by the sun. Being a mile high makes the clothes even brighter I think!Anyways... back to washer... I have been doing laundry for 40 years. I have 4 grown children and know how to sort, etc... When I wash my darks, the lint that ends up on the shirts and pants... its just ridiculous! I end up scraping it off for about 25 minutes before I can hang them up to dry. On some of the clothes, there are marks where all the lint was and has stayed! Ive tried using less detergent, less fabric softener and always use the extra rinse. Tried setting it on the lowest spin cycle and the highest... Nothing helps. How do I tell my husband I would like to get rid of this and get an good old fashioned washer? I was a maniac for two months doing research and making a great cause to buy these machines! It seems to be a little better if I dry the clothes in the dryer, as the lint is pulled off somewhat, but the marks remain. If anyone has had the same experience and knows what Im doing wrong, or has a solution (other than going back to the basic machine) I would appreciate it so much. Disappointed in Denver.

The third washing machine has again lost its brain and the sensor to operate the machine. I have been waiting for the parts since December 2. Called it is still on back order. Unacceptable! It cost almost $60 dollars every 2 weeks for our washing at the Laundromat. Again unacceptable. All Whirlpool can say is We are sorry. When the machine works my clothes are beautifully cleaned using the new HE soap. Takes large loads and I love that part.I am sorry I bought a Whirlpool. Whirlpool would not work with me except to apologize and say the parts are on back order and I will get a call in 5 days for an update. These machines cost $900 each plus tax. They should work more than 3 months at a time. The first repairman could not explain anything. Said they were too new and he could not figure out what to do. The second repairman was more knowledgeable and explained what was wrong. Does not help that Whirlpool does not have an inventory of parts to take care of their customers.

I bought a front loading Whirlpool washer a few years ago after having my old top loading Kenmore for 25 years. It seemed okay, but I did always have to leave the front door open and it always smelled musty, which was of some concern. My clothes never smell totally fresh. The biggest current problem is that several months ago it started with a failure code, alternately would stop without draining, wouldnt fill, or wouldnt drain, and ultimately ended up flooding my basement. So we called for service and they replaced a sensor and said these machines seem to have a lot of service issues with sensors blowing and motors dying. So I paid them that time. Now its a month or two later, failure code again, calling for service one more time. But if it costs too much I will join the legions of dissatisfied Whirlpool customers and will switch to an upright competitors brand.

They attempted to fix our fridge, 1 year into owning, claimed no parts available. Never fixed, fridge died. Refused to repair. Offered us a 15% Visa gift card on another Whirlpool. Unacceptable, they can’t fix their product, and will never recommend anybody go through my familys $3,500 wasted fridge experience. Don’t trust them, they lie, and just escalate it to another liar in the customer service department.

Two years ago, we bought a Whirlpool gas range, model WFG361LVQ2. The range-top grates were porcelain-coated, smooth and shiny. The range itself has worked flawlessly (Admittedly, it gets only light use in our elderly household, which consists of me and my wife). The only complaint I have is that the porcelain on the grates is failing. On one of the grates, its flaking off where the flame contacts with it during cooking (Photos attached). On another two, the porcelain has developed a surface roughness thats clearly a prelude to same type of damage as the first. The fourth grate still appears to be intact. The differences in damage is no doubt due to the different amount of use that each receives. When I called Whirlpool, a supervisor there told me that grates have no specific life expectancy, and that is true for plain metal grates as well has porcelain-coated grates. She also said that some chemicals can penetrate the porcelain and shorten its life. I told her we didnt use any chemicals on the grates, but only rarely used common kitchen scouring powder, and I cant imagine the powder or the chlorine in the powder could do that kind of damage. When I asked what it would cost to replace the four grates, she said $187. I told her the entire stove cost about $500, and it didnt make sense to pay almost $200 to buy grates every two years for the next thirty years. I told her that the grates on our previous (non-Whirlpool) range lasted the life of the range - about forty years. So I declined to purchase new grates, despite her offer of a one-time discount of 25%. Though the grates are becoming eyesores, theyre still perfectly usable. So Ill hang onto them until I can find some bare metal ones to replace them.
