In less than 4 years the top lid broke at a poorly designed hinge point (+$200). Cabrio washer mercilessly tangles/twists clothes; HE does not totally rinse all detergent from clothing necessitating extra rinse (so much for efficiency); now at 4 year point bearing has gone and machine sounds like a freight train (+$250). Do not recommend this item if this what to look forward to. Called Whirlpool initially about tangling/twisting problem and just got lip service about arranging clothes. Duh, did that already.

Havent even had the Cabrio washer for three years & Ive hated it since day one!!! First, our clothes dont come out clean OR come out with white streaks (changed soap, still happened!). Washing bedding is a nightmare! They are sopping wet & I have to wring it out. Finally broke down today & the repairman quoted over $600 to fix (paid $800). Take this piece of junk away!!! It cost me less to replace than get fixed; way to help the environment!

I purchased this Whirlpool Gold Series Refrigerator WRF990SLAMCO in 2012 and it cost me $2400.00 from Lowes. Worst purchase I ever made!!! I will never again purchase or recommend a Whirlpool product. I paid for extended service agreement from Lowes. Before the first year was over, ice was forming on the inside roof of the refrigerator and the whole cooling system/grid needed to be replaced. Then the cooling system went out, followed by the ice maker (PS the ice bucket container was rusted within the first year), then the whole electrical panel on the front of the refrigerator where the ice/water dispenser is.For the last three weeks I have had water leaking out of the top of the refrigerator adjacent to the water filter. My home warranty wont cover. It is a $400.00 repair to replace the circuit that attaches from the water filter. I called Whirlpool 2/14/2017 to complain about the product. She tells me that there havent been any complaints logged about the refrigerator. Seriously??? Read your reviews! The gal on the phone offered a discount to purchase a NEW PRODUCT! Are you serious??? Take my advice. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL. They do not care about their customers or creating a well made USA product. Ill buy foreign next time!

Whirlpool refrigerator - I purchased $6950.93 in Whirlpool products in one day last year at HH GREGG in Lexington, Ky. The refrigerator was purchased on that day September 18, 2012 and my kitchen wasnt going to be ready until December, but I wanted all items bought for measurements (specs) for the new kitchen designer. HH GREGG delivered to my garage October 26, 2012 because they couldnt hold any longer, but when we purchased that day they promised to hold till December when my kitchen would be finished. I have Proof from the kitchen installers the day they finished, December 28, 2012, was the day the appliances were installed. Well here I sit typing this letter on January 7, 2014 and my Whirlpool refrigerator is as of right now is in need of a compressor while losing approx $1000.00 in purchased food. In other words, approximately $900.00 in repair cost. Isnt Whirlpool a large enough company to stand behind its products when I paid $2599.00 for this refrigerator for at least one year from installation instead of purchase date? My fiancee has been trying to work out a solution with Whirlpool and the parts are on back order now. For at least two weeks we have been without a refrigerator and have two young children. Doesnt it show that the parts being on back order from Whirlpool, barely being a year old prove the defective product is being sold to the public daily? I plan on going further with this action due to the name Whirlpool all over my kitchen which disgusts me. Im going to write every columnist I can and do all I can with what little resources I have against this large company if no one helps us. This is absolutely an injustice against consumers...

My brand new Whirlpool washing machine has been nothing but trouble from the day we first used it. We are now reaching out to try to contact the warranty department. Weve tried email and phone both and are having ZERO luck even getting a human to talk to about the problems. No response. Took forever to even find what we thought was accurate contact info. Lowes doesnt stand behind it. Now Whirlpool has a crap warranty department. We were warned and should have never bought it to start with. It is a total waste of money.

In June of 2010, I purchased a new Whirlpool Estate EED4400WQ0 dryer (serial number M01156261) with an accompanying washing machine. It has been in a clean, climate-controlled environment and gently used by my family of four for just short of two years. Last week, I began to notice that the clothes coming out of the dryer were cool and damp and it quickly became apparent that the dryer was only heating intermittently. This morning, the service person from the dealer who sold me the washer and dryer set (and a Whirlpool dishwasher a few months later) told me that contacts on the timer unit were bad and that the entire switch would have to be replaced. This is no small portion of the machine and the part alone will cost me about $150. After labor, we are looking at an expense of approximately half of the original cost of the machine - in less than two years. I called the Whirlpool’s customer service line to ask if there was anything that could be done and the answer was: Sorry, we cant do anything for you.” It is not acceptable to me for an appliance to become that expensive that fast. If Whirlpool cant do anything for me about this, then I will not be purchasing anymore Whirlpool products.

Whirlpool fridge with ice and water dispenser that broke down within days of install. The water dispenser stopped working after the first flush and Whirlpool were notified. They engaged a useless repair company who have been unable to resolve the problem and will not communicate updates. Whirlpool have been fully informed of the problem with their brand new product which was defective practically from the start and have washed their hands of any involvement in resolving the problem with their appliance. They defer defective product as a warranty issue and leave the consumer to chase after people to get a repair done. For a brand new $3,700 fridge that doesnt work within a week of install I just cannot believe they would sell a defective item and make their consumer suffer for it.What consumer would knowingly choose to purchase a defective appliance? If you end up getting a defect, the company should make it right....right away. Im at 2 months now without a functioning water dispenser on a fridge that is only 2 months old. Just disgusting.

IPod the Gold Series from Whirlpool appliances including the French door with the freezer on the bottom the induction still two ovens and glass top the microwave in the dishwasher does it cost me about $8,900 dubstep problem with it is after two-and-a-half years of using it the freezer stopped working and coming to find out that not only mine but three other ones in my account have the same problem. The sealed system for the freezer had a leak in it. I lost the freezer traffic to Whirlpool. First time around they said, No problem well take care of the part. To take care of Labor. I waited a month. Nothing happened. I called them back. They said I needed to do something else so I waited for it to happen. Nothing happened. Now I call back 8 weeks later without a refrigerator my house come to find out they told me theyre not doing nothing.Well four weeks later now Im sitting with the stove which cost me quite a bit of money like $2,000 for the induction stove. Now its burned out the computer components. Control panels are both out. It will cost $800 to repair it. Now well pull. Said they will also pay for parts for that but not for the labor so now Im stuck without a refrigerator and I dont have a stove in my house and theyre saying its okay that these very expensive piece of equipment that I bought and its okay for them to only last 2 years. Never had a Whirlpool last me less than 10. I think theres something wrong with this picture.

I would like to share whirlpools lack of ownership for parts they knew were faulty that caused significant damage to my floor. Its absolutely horrendous that one would purchase the highest end dishwasher they offer (all highest end appliances in 3 homes so far) and the company is only willing to cover the replacement of the part. Its a horrible way to run a company. I hope that my review will warn prospective customers to stay away from a company who is only willing to take your cash at purchase (charging an arm and a leg no less) and not care about any repercussions after the fact. I hope they enjoy our 15k, because it will be the last penny they get from us.

I would not recommend this product at all, nor would I recommend the Whirlpool Company. This washer was over $1200.00. Within two weeks of purchase, I had to call a service repair company as I was immediately having issues with the washer not draining. Being a front loader, this machine required using the appropriate HE detergent. I followed the instructions, used the appropriate products and had nothing but continuous problems. It is a (lemon), and very frustrating, as it does not seem repairable. No serviceman could give an appropriate reason as to why the washer would not drain, nor could they figure out why. It didnt matter the size of the laundry load or the type of items...towels, jeans, or silky delicates...the washer failed at turning from the wash cycle to the drain cycle. It also leaked because of the lack of draining, and began building up a mold film and odor even though I consistently wiped it dry and left the door opened when not in use. I received no assistance from Whirlpool and was given the runaround and told I must be doing something incorrectly.

We bought all new Whirlpool kitchen appliances in February of 2017. The French Door Refridgerator MRF993FIFM we purchased was a large side by side with a water/ice dispenser and freezer on the bottom. The concept of it is great, as it is very roomy. The problem is with the product quality and usability. We are a family of four with the youngest being twelve. We do not have to worry about rough little hands anymore. That being said there is a crack in the back of the plastic casing of one shelf, a crack in the freezer door, the seal doesnt connect on the dispenser side door, the slide out shelf in the freezer doesnt stay on its rollers and the main ice maker stopped working (which never worked properly either). Also, and this is what bothers me the most, the glass on one of the shelves is sealed down so it cannot be cleaned under. But there is a small slit going all the way around that separates it from the plastic. Food is still seeping underneath and creating mold with no way to clean underneath! This was not an inexpensive refrigerator and we were not prepared to have these kinds of problems after a year. We are very unhappy with the quality of this product.

Purchased both Cabrio washer (wtw6200sw2) & dyer brand new in 2007 for $1200. Within 4 years the motherboard went out. Whirlpool didnt want to fix it. They said it was past warranty. After many complaints to corporate, they sent someone out to repair it for $496 (they paid). Repairman said these models had motherboards from Japan & Whirlpool was aware of the many issues, but wouldnt do a recall. 2009, the springs went out, 2011 F codes began to appear. Clothes dont get clean; not enough water. 2014 & 2015 DU & DL codes appear. Now I need a new Lid latch assembly. These washing machines are not worth buying. I am so unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. The clothes get so tangled and twisted that it stretches my sweaters totally out of shape. There is not enough water on any of the cycles that really clean your clothes. I saved my money so I could get something energy efficient and look great in my new laundry room. I would never recommend this product. Your sheets will not come clean because they ball up in the middle of the washer and come out partly dry. I have had this set for 3 years and now the bearing is gone; it leaks from the bottom and throws grease all over my new floor. I have battled the horrible odor since the second month. It smells so bad that I make sure I dont wash the day I have guest over. I am so disappointed and mad at myself for not reading any reviews before I spent my hard earned money. So here I am now 3 years into my ownership and having to spend more money on a defective product. The sad part is that I really thought I was getting something nice that would last me and my husband for years. There are only two of us in our household. This machine does not work properly; now it is broken, but hey it really looks good.

I originally purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater in 2005. After numerous problems Whirlpool agreed to replace January 2010. With the new hot water heater, everything was fine for the first two years. Now about every 6 months, we are having the thermocouple and the igniter. Each time you order the part, the part is free but you have to pay $30.00 for shipping. I am tired of dealing with this. So disappointed since that was the same reason we took the other one back that was in this house when we bought it. We paid extra for a 10 year warranty on purchase from Airport Appliances. On delivery I commented that the plastic material used throughout the fridge was of very flimsy material and wobbly. In the first week the crisper drawer joint cracked to our amazement and they had to send another one from Whirlpool. In the 14th month after the Whirlpool warranty had expired, we found the pantry drawer lid/cover shattered by the door which shut on it because of no reasonable leeway provided in its design. On calling the special warranty people they said they only covered the compressor and parts and nothing else. Called Whirlpool who quoted $85.00 for the lid, plus S&H and taxes. Now we have an eyesore every time we open the fridge when we see the taped up cracked three foot pantry drawer lid. We badly regret giving away a 25 year old perfectly working Whirlpool Workhorse Fridge and buy this newer model which we will have to live with for a quarter of a century. I am 75 years old now. Purchased a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator model #ED5KVEXVB07 in July 2012 from Sears for about $1000. Unit quit cooling late Dec 2014. I did not purchase the extended warranty, so the Whirlpool 1 year warranty was all I had. The repair technician (local company, not from Whirlpool directly) told me that the compressor had seized up, and the repair would be at least $300. I thought Id call Whirlpool just to see if theyd be willing to do anything for me. Long story short: No. I told the person on the phone: “I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance.” She said: “Im very sorry about that.” After I hung up, I thought: If Whirlpool was really sorry, theyd stand behind their products for a part that should not fail after only 2.5 years.

We bought a brand new basic refrigerator, freezer on top, no frills, no ice
We bought a brand new basic refrigerator, freezer on top, no frills, no ice maker, no water dispenser (model #WRT359SFYB) in Dec. 2011. For months, things on the bottom shelf of the fridge would freeze. The more we turn the control dial down, the more things would freeze. Finally, everything stopped freezing, including everything in the freezer. After having to throw everything out, we called for service. One year and 4 months out from our purchase date and without an extended warranty, we were offered no help. The repairman said that we had a leak as a result of poor manufacturing and there was no refrigerant left. He filled it but said he needed to check with Whirlpool to see if they would cover the repairs. It turns out they wont. I called them myself and spoke with a manager who offered no options at all, other than paying more than the price of the fridge to have it repaired. I asked if they were okay with their product having such a short life, filling landfills and causing such problems for their customers to which she replied that they are man-made and have no life expectancy. Crazy! For a manufacturer of large, costly appliances, one would think they would stand behind their product more. She also said that she would file my complaint and would have let me know if there was a recall on the fridge or any of its parts. It appears to me that others have had similar complaints. I wonder what warrants a recall. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

My 4- to 5-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 began to display errors recently.
My 4- to 5-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 began to display errors recently. F1 was the 1st error code I encountered. After giving the washer a hard shove and rocking, it began to work properly again... for a while. I noticed on some large loads that I was getting an LD Long Drain error. I could hear the pump running but with little water flow. Eventually, it would time out and give the LD error. A service tech was called and determined that the water pump was defective, although the impellers inside appeared okay and had no foreign objects to impede its spinning. After spending $225 for the service call, the LD error resurfaced about an hour after the tech left. Tonight I got the F1 error again, and once again the washer responded to a sharp rap. The replacement control board, which the F1 error code involves, is $220 plus labor. $440+ for a repair to a $600-$700 washer? Im going to dissect the main control board tomorrow and look for loose or corroded connections. I cant understand why the LD code occurs when I can hear the drain pump running... just very little comes out. Other times it empties like Niagara falls... I cant understand why it works sometimes and fails others. The pump is either on or off. It doesnt have multiple speeds as far as I know. Im not sure what to do next... probably try to re-sell the new pump that was installed to recoup some of the money I paid for a non-working Cabrio. This seems to be a very common occurrence.. Have any class action suits been mentioned? If so, please feel free to contact me.

I purchased it in 2011 for $1100 Canadian. Smooth glass top and true convection. The controls were easy to use, and understand. What bothered me was that it stopped working just after the warranty ran out. I did my research, and found that the newer ranges that have the controls on top at the back have issues with the motherboard overheating, and causing this problem. I did speak to Whirlpool customer service, and managed to convince them to supply the replacement part at no cost. I paid my local dealer to install it. This repair lasted for just over 1 year. Same problem again. This time I could not convince Whirlpool to supply the part. FYI The part in question is the controller. Essentially a motherboard. All the controls are operated through this small computer. It is the only replacement part that costs over $100. Last I checked it was around $450 Canadian. The reason for the fault is overheating. According to the tech that fixed it the first time, it is the most common problem with this style of range. I find this concerning considering the only thing a range does is create heat!Keep in mind that you are virtually held over a barrel. There are only two companies that market their products under multiple names adding up to over 80% of the appliances on the market. They battle for that market by offering more bells and whistles, and less quality. The Range I replaced four years ago was 20 years old. I just replaced my Whirlpool 3 months ago. I went outside of the 80%, and bought a Samsung. Im rolling the dice, and went with induction top. My theory is it will produce less heat because it just heats the pot, not the stove top.Low quality drives me nuts. I want fewer bells and whistles, and more long lasting reliability. I should be able to go my lifetime and only buy two or three ranges. We really like the induction top. It works fast, and doesnt produce too much excess heat. Dual zone oven is a good idea. We werent looking for it, but there was a deal on. The dual zone induction range was only $50 more than the regular one beside it. Now my wife uses it all the time. She will have cookies in one zone, and a casserole for supper in the other. True convection is the other must have. It does a great job cooking everything evenly.

When I first purchased the dishwasher I had to call Whirlpool to come out because although I was using a drying agent as Cascade, the dishwasher lower door remained wet causing water onto the utensils. Whirlpool came out and said it would take a few washes until the inner part of the D/W would acclimate to the drying agent. Well the lower door where the utensils basket sits does not dry in its entirety so its a defect, not the drying agent. Also, the decibel 55 is quite loud we cant run the dishwasher during the day, its too noisy and distracting.

I purchased a WhirlPool dishwasher in 2016. The primary motor had to be replaced in 2018. WP paid for the part; however, I had to cover the labor, which was expensive. In 2019 the drying element broke. Again, WP will replace the part but leave me to cover the labor. Ive decided to purchase a new dishwasher (none of the Whirlpool brands) with a 5 year warranty. I will never purchase another WP product and recommend everyone avoid all of their brands. Heres the list of brands you should avoid. https://www.whirlpoolcorp.com/brands-we-love/

We bought Whirlpool duet front loading washer and matching dryer. In 3 years the water level seemed like it was off. Clothes, especially towels were coming out stinky. Eventually you could hear the clothes were merely flopping around wet. Before we could order the repair part it completely quit and locked our clothes into it. I washed my clothes at my daughters house for a week and dried them at home. Within the week the dryer quit. Not having the money to repair both machines, my son gifted me a set of top loading washer/dryer. Again Whirlpool. In a week we had repair service out. They replaced everything possible and it still didnt work right. Since the 90 days from purchase was approaching we returned it to the store and they had Whirlpool send us a brand new dryer. This one worked for a month then stopped spinning. I havent called for service yet because now with 3 broken machines I am so disgusted. When I think about them I feel like I am going to puke. My washing machine shouldnt be the worst thing in my life, especially since it was a lovely gift from a wonderful son.

I have 2 rent houses. I purchased 2 Whirlpool gas water heaters with a 6 year warranty, from Lowes in 2010 and 2011. The warranty just expired on 1 and almost expired on the other. I read the reviews and decided I would not spend my time to get a part, I did not want to put any more money into a bad product. Both water heaters leaked at the Honeywell gas control valve without any warning and flooded both properties. I replaced these with Rheem gas water heaters from Home Depot.

Have had this washer for one year. Clothes have never been clean since day one. Dark clothes come out with white marks all over. Having to use an extra rinse cycle or set on bulky items - whats the point of a high efficiency appliance? Still not clean after that anyways. Stains such as chocolate and toothpaste still remain after washing and my husband complains of finding small holes in his clothes. Lid needs to be left open at all times or you get a funky smell. I am using the HE liquid detergent, even tried a cold water product for cold washes. I hate this washer. Wish I had my 20 year old Kenmore still.

I purchased a Whirlpool Washing Machine in November, 2015 and today, I had a repair person out who said the bearing had ruptured and the washing machine cannot be repaired - 2 1/2 years later. Contacted Whirlpool Customer Service who would do nothing other than try to explain to me that I should have purchased an extended warranty as they could not stand behind the machine past the one year. Would not even offer sending a tech out on their dime to confirm what my repairman had said that this is a failed production process of these machines - it was nothing that I had done caused this issue. But yet they wanted to sell me another machine. It will be a cold day before I purchase another Whirlpool product.I was shocked at the lack of customer service to assist with a situation that both the location I purchased it from and my own repair tech said that they are seeing so often with these machines. I would never purchase another item from Whirlpool again nor would I recommend any of their items. I will go to great lengths to give others the background on how Whirlpool will not stand behind their products, lack of customer service to resolve a situation or can work outside of what is given to them to correct a situation - this is not OK!

I am very sorry I bought this machine. CU rated it pretty good. Nope. 1 - It rarely dries everything completely. e.g., the collars of t-shirts or turtleneck shirts are damp after the load is finished. I have to run the machine again....Energy efficient? Energy schmefficient. and I havent even TRIED to use the low heat delicate cycle. 2 - The cute modern buttons are hard to push in. 3 - The top of the machine doesnt have a level lid... Its curved. Not very useful for setting anything on while you work at any part of your laundering process.

Model CAE2745FQ0, Serial #C72680766 - Purchased this coin op clothes washer 2/2/2018 at Brandsmart, Deerfield Beach FL. Would not empty or spin correctly; 1st service call 2/28/2018. (Less than 30 days from purchase date). 3/21/2018 called Whirlpool again as same problem continues (as listed above). Washer is not being overloaded. Whirlpool repair visit scheduled again for 3/23/2018. This is the 2nd repair time since we purchased the washer on 2/28/2018. Purchased the same model 2 years ago, and experienced repeated problems to the point where we got rid of that machine and purchased the most current model referenced here. We are looking for a full refund of the purchase price as it appears that this recently purchased machine is on its way to be a repeat performance of the 1st machine that we got rid of (that was purchased 2 years ago). Again, we want the full purchase price refunded, which is $900.88. This machine is not even 2 months old. Thank you.

I contacted Whirlpool in regard to one of their water heaters we purchased from Lowes. It came with a 5-year warranty. At the end of 3 years, the lower element went out. Our plumber took the part back to Lowes, where he stated they normally just do a part replacement with them. On ours, he was told the owner would have to contact the manufacturer. I contacted them and supplied them with the plumbers bill and copies of the front and back of our canceled check, along with all my contact info. Their website states theyll get back with you within two days. I contacted them on March 13, 2013. Today is April 7, 2013 and they havent emailed, called or snail mailed me. After reading these consumer reports, the air has been let out of my balloon. No more Whirlpool products for me! Integrity in our country used to be extremely high. Today it is extremely low as demonstrated by the complaints on this website and now mine. Hey Whirlpool, you suck!

Purchased a Whirlpool french door refrigerator at Lowes less than two years ago. Last week the freezer compartment failed, out of the one-year warranty of course. The independent tech who came to service the machine told me of all the refrigerators he services Whirlpools are the closest to total junk and he would never recommend them. Wish I knew him before I bought this soon to be piece of trash. The CEO of Whirlpool, Jeff Fettig, received total compensation valued at $14.4 million in 2010, up about 15% from a year earlier, the appliance maker reported in a securities filing recently. Appears to me that Mr. Fettig is ripping off customers for his own gain, with his boards approval. Shame on all of them -- another example corporate rip offs that are plaguing our nation.

It stopped spinning and rinsing clothes. I called for service. No luck with that. So in order to wash, I had to drag the washer to the back door (which ripped up my new floors) hang hose outside for it to finish the load. Well a few months later, that didnt work so the assistant where it was purchased told us to cut the pipe down in the wall. Now we have a big hole in the wall. All burners would light intermittently. Every time I had trouble, I called the service tech from Homestead Lumber, where I purchased the product from and he could never find anything wrong. Product would work fine whenever he came out. Finally, it acted up in May of this year while the product was still under warranty and while the service tech was here. The tech replaced the circuit board. One month later, Im still having trouble replacing igniter. Four days ago, Im still having trouble. This stove stinks. I purchased top load washer and dryer from Lowes last week. When I was washing clothes the first time 12/4/18 (the day Lowes delivered) I washed in quick wash setting, machine was showing me all stages of the wash on the progress lights. It took about one hour for one load. Today 12/11/18 I spoke to your customer service associates Trina regarding the issue with my top load washer wed4815ew1 serial m82572023. I was told a technician is schedule for repair tomorrow. I try to quick wash two loads, washer progress light only went to wash mode only. I had to press start/pause, select drain and spin to remove excess water. I started 8:30 am and finish around 1 pm. I was waiting for the cycle to finish, twice all progress stages light went blank. I have no idea when it will be done. Machine made noise, not spinning, no water in it. The dryer wtw4816fw2 serial c84621285, I dry at energy prefer setting, when the clothes was dry, dryer continue without the buzzing signal to stop. I had to keep watch of the time and turn it off manually so it not energy efficient when I have to monitor when clothes will be dry.

I felt compelled to write this review, to sum it up NEVER buy ANY Whirlpool, KitchenAid etc brand. Nothing but the worst experience, it all started with a 5 year old Whirlpool fridge that stopped cooling, I called and they said they could send someone for like 200$ and that it does not guarantee it will be fixed. So I called an independent and he tried to refill the freon, but it was leaking behind the fridge in a section you cannot access because they want you to buy another one, so 5 year old fridge in the garbage and now to top it off, a KitchenAid knife set that is barely used, one of the big knives broke cutting a fruit, and good luck in any circumstance getting any customer service. SO NEVER AGAIN, TRUST ME AND PUT YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE ON ANY OTHER COMPANY.

We purchased the pair a year ago and its been nothing but headaches. First of all, half the clothes dont even get wet. They say its high efficiency but I dont think theres any efficiency when it doesnt even wash them. Second, when it actually does wash them, it leaves detergent all over the clothes. Imagine your black dress pants with white bleach like streaks all over them. We called because we were under warranty and a repair man came out. Totally useless. He said because its high efficiency, its supposed to do that. Not clean my clothes?? Why would I have purchased a WASHING machine that doesnt clean clothes?? Is there some other use for it Im unaware of?? He told us to try using deep water setting and extra rinse. So now we can wash 3 pair of socks at a time instead of one. Yippee.Do NOT BUY THIS CABRIO WASHER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Youd be better off with a plastic bucket from the dollar store. If you get it as a gift, the person who bought it for you may secretly hate you. I wish wed had the benefit of these reviews. Now were out $1500. Will NEVER, EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. I bought the Affresh product and there is still a problem. Every load of wash has to be put back in for another rinse cycle, sometimes two rinse cycles. Its ironic because the cover of the booklet for the machine says low-water washer which was the selling point to buying this machine. Instead of using less water, Im using DOUBLE the water.

Bought water heater from Lowes in 2016. 4 days ago I came home to find water all over garage and a burnt smell coming from the water heater. Whirlpools warranty department is absolutely horrible. I spent 3 days sending pictures of the water heater, circuit breakers and water on garage floor with cc sent to my husbands email account and mine. Each day I would telephone the warranty department and told that they never received pictures and they couldnt do anything until they received the pictures. I asked for a supervisor who wouldnt even come to the phone. Both my husband and myself received the pics and email just fine. A representative said they have firewalls and things attached so that they cant receive attachments and downloads. So I sent directly from my phone and they still claimed they never received. They refused to give me contact phone numbers for supervisors. Out of frustration I called the Lowes store where I purchased and a store representative spent 4 hours making phone calls trying to help. She was completely frustrated as well. I was told even though there is a 6 year warranty, I am to pay parts and labor and that the repair company for my area that Whirlpool utilizes doesnt even deal with Whirlpool parts so that whatever is needed would have to be ordered! Im on day 4 of no hot water, this is absolutely ridiculous. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product! This product was installed by Lowes and inspected by the state, not a DIY!

They definitely lasted longer with no problems. Companies should make the older models bigger and forget about the front loaders and newer models without the agitators. Too much shaking in the machine causes too many repairs!

I bought the most deluxe and expensive washer and dryer I have ever owned. It is a Whirlpool Cabrio. The clothes come out of the washer dry, and all tangled up. I bought it new from Sears on July 2009. Now only two years old, and the washer sounds like a jet plane. I paid a repairman $90.00 only to be told this is common in this machine. The repair is expensive, and I would be better off buying a new one! I owned a cheap, little GE washer, which cost me $300; ten years, and never had a problem. Now my dream machine turned out to be a piece of crap. I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

I bought a frost-free deep freezer 2 years ago from a box store. Within 1 year it went out and I lost approximately $1000 worth of food. Called the box store and they called A&E. Bought the extended warranty. A year later the deep freezer went out again. Lost another $1000 worth of food. Im scared to death to use my Whirlpool deep freezer again. Am I going to lose $1000 worth of food each year? No satisfaction with Whirlpool whatsoever for this piece of junk. And the problems were manufacturer defects. In fact, one of the parts had a recall on it and we were never notified. I dont know about anyone else, but I cant afford to just throw away $1000 worth of food every year. Ive bought my last Whirlpool appliance now. I wish I had read these reviews. It would have made a difference to me.

My 15 year old front loader quit working and was going to cost more to repair than we thought was worth it. So, we went shopping at Home Depot and based on discussions with salespeople ended up with the Whirlpool cabrio toploader. What a mistake. I am so disgusted with this washer I dont even know where to start. If there was any way we could return it we would do so. The clothes come out wrinkled, twisted, absolutely covered in pet hair and detergent and fabric softener residue. Yes, Im using HE detergent, in the correct amounts. Yes, Ive read the manual front to back. Yes, Ive tried all the troubleshooting suggestions. No, they dont make a damn bit of difference.I would give anything to have my old front loader back. It was a great little machine that did a wonderful job of cleaning our laundry. Pet hair was washed off, I could lay things out to dry and they werent all wrinkly and did not require ironing. Just about everything that comes out of this cabrio machine that I lay to dry needs to be ironed before it can be worn. It is just a horrible, horrible machine and Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for foisting this off on unsuspecting consumers.

Im very satisfied with the looks and performance of my Whirlpool dishwasher, it is quiet enough that I put it on to wash before going to bed. It is that quiet. Im not happy about the way it was installed, but that is no fault of the dishwasher or Whirlpool, it works great even though it sits kind of crooked in the cabinet. The dishes are always sparkling clean and dry when it is done washing.

I bought a Whirlpool washer (model wtw57esvw1) about 17 months ago. In that time, the same part has gone out three times. It happens every 5 to 6 months. The part runs 97 dollars plus labor. In the mean time, I am without the use of my washer. They say they are sorry, but they only cover their product for one year. After that, you have to buy their extended warranty so you can get it fixed by them. I feel that if I pay that much for a product I should expect at least 3 years without having to repair every 6 months! I have no washer. I am giving one star only because I have to.

We purchased 3 Whirlpool Gold appliances, fridge, range and over-the-range
We purchased 3 Whirlpool Gold appliances, fridge, range and over-the-range microwave in 4/2011. Since that time, the fridge needed repair, the microwave door had to be replaced and the range had to be repaired. Now the heating element on the microwave went and Whirlpool will not fix the problem. We purchased the extended warranty through Whirlpool and they are saying it is not worth fixing. We paid $470.00 plus tax and install and now all they are giving us is $348.00. Since we have had repeated problems with these appliances, why not just fix the problem or replace the microwave??? What Whirlpool customer service told me was that would be options for us if we did not purchase their extended warranty. Tell me, is that fair? The cost to repair the microwave was $388.00 and they are giving us $348.00 - do you not think for the $40.00 difference, it would be worth to spend it to keep us happy. We will never purchase another Whirlpool product again and will tell everyone we know not to buy their products.

I have a Whirlpool GoldSeries dishwasher and I wish I had never bought it.
I have a Whirlpool GoldSeries dishwasher and I wish I had never bought it. I’ll start with the cons because I don’t think any other dishwasher on the market matches this: After 3.5 years either the motherboard or the motor is trash. It will cost so much to fix it that buying a new dishwasher is a better option. I paid more than $800 for the dishwasher + $200 for the install + $75 for the service call to find out it is garbage. I used it about 2-3 times per week, which adds up to about 455 uses total for the time I used it. This shows that the cost of this dishwasher, without operational cost considered, is $2.36 per load (or $307.14 per year if you prefer). No other appliance I have ever owned was as expensive, over its lifetime, as this dishwasher.Whirlpool customer service was difficult to get a hold of and then obstinate and useless. The dishwasher would stink if it was not cleaned regularly. Pros: It is quiet and it cleans the dishes well. Recommendation: Do not waste your money on this. Many other dishwashers are quiet and clean dishes but not many will be this big or expensive. A disappointment over their lifespan.

Pretty sure its the bearings as I have seen several peoples complaint about this same issue! I contacted Whirlpool to only be told that they only offer 1-year warranty and after that the consumer is out of luck. They only stand behind their products for 1 year and after that its on you! They refused to help me in any way including sending someone out to look at it! Im very upset and will never buy another product of theirs! They need a class action lawsuit brought against them!

Our Whirlpool refrigerator breaks down after two weeks of purchase. I purchased a Whirlpool fridge for my son and his wife as a house and new baby gift. Just two weeks later, the fridge was not cooling and seemed to not be working. The technician was called, and he confirmed that the fridge was not working. We called the shop where the fridge was purchased from and advised they would not refund or replace the fridge. We are now forced to wait for a replacement part that could take up to 2 months to arrive. And there is no guarantee this problem will not reoccur with a new part, as per the technician. I called Whirlpool and lodged a complaint, but that went on deaf and ignorant ears. I am told to call the service repairer. I am sure there is a law to protect Australian consumers.I paid nearly $1,000 for a fridge that is useless! I would like Whirlpool to contact me, and tell me why they shouldnt be accountable for their product. I would like to return the faulty fridge, accept a refund and buy another fridge. My family are living out of an Esky, and this is a ridiculous way to refrigerate food stuff for adults and children in the heat of northern Australia. Whirlpool, I am waiting for your call.

We bought a Whirlpool French door fridge model WRF989SDAM00 in 2013 and were impressed by how it looked in our kitchen. Its December 2015 and things have started to go wrong. First the freezer stopped freezing items completely and found out that ice had built up on the cooling tubes inside the rear freezer wall. Had to be taken apart and thawed with a heat gun. Now the freezer freezes on and off and the ice maker is not making ice properly and leaking all over the left side of the fridge. Went to Sears {place of purchase} and we were asked immediately if we had purchased the extended warranty. We hadnt and were told Sears could do nothing and that these newer fridges have a tendency to have trouble within the first couple of years and thats why they recommend the extended warranties. Really a $2500 dollar fridge a couple of years? Had a local appliance repairman look at it and he said the compressor was bad. $500.00 to fix. Boy do I regret buying this thing. These big companies just walk all over us consumers.

How can it be energy efficient if it was made to last only seven years? How much energy is wasted making new ones to replace the broken ones, that cost too much to fix. Energy star. What a scam.

I purchased a compact frontload washer. At first, I was getting a code f30, which took the technician weeks of coming to my home and changing different parts to finally accomplish that problem. After that, the machine would not go into high spin to wring the clothes out. So everything comes out soaking wet. After two different companies (Herbs Appliance and DanMarc Appliance which I got from my service contract) changed speed control, board, latch control, main computer, and top control board, the machine finally worked for a little while. Not long after, the machine is no longer wringing out once again. I am no longer under contract but had a repairman out three times to inform me this machine is a lemon. Whirlpool tells me I am no longer under contract, but my argument is this is not a new problem but a preexisting one.

We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer from Lowes 4 years and 11 months ago. It apparently sprang a freon leak somewhere... repair person cannot tell until they take it into their workshop which will cost $300 - 400 just to find! And then there is a strong possibility that the compressor is toast. I called the company and they were not willing to help out at all. Why should a refrigerator only last 5 years (technically less)? We bought this Whirlpool two door side by side refrigerator freezer at Lowes at what seem like a good deal, until the problems start. On the refrigerator side everything freezes just as solid as the freezer side. We get to looking and find there is no air filter/damper installed. Try to call Whirlpool and you can forget it. 37 Minutes wait time, then a recording comes back and says now your wait time is 47 minutes, long story short you just get put on hold. No help what so ever. Lowes did give us an air filter. But we still got rock solid fresh eggs in the refrigerator. So it was not such a great deal after all. We purchased a 50 gallon water heater in 2005. In 2008, the thermocoupling unit went out and Whirlpool sent us the replacement part and we had a plumper install the piece (at our expense, of course). Now, we are running into the exact same problem 3 years later with the pilot light not staying lit. We had a plumber come out this weekend and replace the part but unfortunately this time, its not fixing the problem. The plumber charged us $178. He said that he can replace the thermostat on the water heater but that would cost us close to $400 to replace and makes no sense to do since purchasing a new one wouldnt be much more than that. I am so frustrated with this water heater; I just want to throw it out in the middle of the street! We still have 3 years left on our warranty too. I have 2 very young daughters who need to take baths, and who also dirty up quite a bit of clothes that need to be washed in warm water. What a nightmare! Whirlpool, help us!

In Feb. 2014 we moved into a new Condo and bought all new kitchen appliance
In Feb. 2014 we moved into a new Condo and bought all new kitchen appliances, MAKING one mistake, a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator, Model WRS322FDAM 01. It had to be ordered and was received by Lowes on March 10th. Letters from Whirlpool told me that their service warranty had ended as of 2/1/15 which predated our receipt of the fridge. It is a bit noisy with the ice maker, and when it fills up with water, you can hear it, and yes, the ice does fly a bit when you put it into your glass. The worst thing about this piece of junk, is how cheaply it is made. The materials used must have come from the rejected pile of parts. Its just my husband and I, no grandchildren/children and very little company. So, the fridge received average use and then within 6 months, one of the drawers cracked at the back. I tried to glue it back together myself because I was told that it was not a covered item??? My repair lasted a few months and then came apart entirely. When I removed the broken shelf I noticed something around the LED light on the liner in the back of the fridge. I pulled out the meat drawer and found a crack that began at the bottom of the light and had moved about 3 inches to the left, and another one that began at the right of the light and that was about 4 inches or so.Life intervened and when I looked again, the right side crack had split and deepened and it had now crossed over to the rounded edging connecting the back liner to the side liner. The left side crack had also moved further to the left, and is now approaching the side corner. I spoke with Whirlpool and they sent out a repair company who e-mailed a photo of the cracks to them from our home. The company response was that they would cover the crack with 482395 liner tape. - this was their idea of a repair.I then spoke with a Lowes representative who agreed to send another repair firm out. Well, they came today and when they spoke with Whirlpool, they were told to order an Epoxy kit (# 8212572) - this was their version of a repair. I spoke with a supervisor and told her that they were not repairing the liner, they were just placing a bandage on top of the crack. I compared it to owning a new car but having cracks in the dashboard. In this case the dealer would place tapes over the cracks instead of just replacing the dash. Neither response from Whirlpool was a repair. All they were doing was hiding their piece of garbage. She disagreed and would offer nothing further. I told her that I was going to bring this to the attention of any consumer group that I could, and might even see if a class action suit could be brought to bear as there were many other reports of cracked liners. We are totally disgusted with the product and its manufacturer. Whirlpool used to have a good reputation, but after this, it is now at the bottom of the garbage barrel.

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine (model: AW01D8810 S silver color) and a Whirlpool refrigerator (model: WBM329 TI) together from United Arab Emirates for Dhs 1999/- & Dhs 1199 /- respectively on 28 Jan. 2011. I sent this machine to my hometown (India) in the same packing and I used the washing machine only for three months and found a complaint. I informed this to service center in Trivandrum, Kerala. Their team came to my home and told me that warranty cannot be given as I purchased machine overseas. They added that the PCB for the machine is having complaint and they dont have stock in India. Also, the machine is no longer available in the factory. The Whirlpool company completely stopped manufacturing the abovementioned model. Again, I came to UAE and contacted GEC group of companies for the PCB part. I got a quotation for PCB Dhs 425/- but the items is ex-stock with them. The machine cost only Dhs 1999/- and if I spend Dh425/- only for PCB, and the machine is with me for the parts since one and half years. I dont know what to do. If I spend another Dhs 600 + this PCB cost then Id rather go for another new branded washing machine. The model of machine is AWO1D8810S and serial no. is 12 nc 859247463000 003. Please advise what to do or if I can find the PCB in Kerala. What will be the cost? I am ready to pay the money for PCB but not for the above rates. Please advise, sir.

Despite my claim being submitted within the first 4 months of purchase, Whirlpool would not assist in solving our issue. We purchased all major appliances from Whirlpool, to furnish our new home in August 2021. All appliances were white. The top of our gas range began discolouring immediately following the first use. The inside of the four corners immediately began to ware due to heat. I figured Id have time to put my claim in, and thought to see if it got worse. Once I finally had time to deal with the issue, I contacted them only to find out that we only had 30 days from the date of purchase (of which included 3 months of waiting for the products to arrive) to claim the issue, given that it was considered Cosmetic. Easy fix, since theyd simply have to change the top of the stove, but Whirlpool denied our claim. Do not purchase this product, unless youre looking for a sub-standard product and customer service.

Purchased this dishwasher in 2015. It has been horrible. The unit has never cleaned sufficiently on any cycle. I run the unit in the evening for the full cycle with heat. It takes almost 4 hours. The dishes are still soaking wet the next morning. We would be considered light use as a family of two. I hand wash any larger pans or cookware as the racks do not support anything of midrange weight or above. With the poor cleaning, I purchased a additional silverware rack and placed it more centrally to attempt better cleaning. It remains mediocre at best. The most recent irritation is the door latch has started pulling free from the unit and remains attached to the door! I have to take pliers and remove it from the door and reaffix it into the housing of the unit. Will never recommend this nor will I ever purchase anything from this company in the future. Sad to see the quality falter to the point of absolute failure.

I purchased the original Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in April 2008 for $372, and an installation charge of $443, grand total - $815. In February 2012 the tank leaked profusely, enough to ruin a section of hardwood floor in the room behind the garage where it was installed. Whirlpool provided me with return authorization, and Lowes provided me with a replacement water heater. So far so good. Since the original installation was done through Lowes, the replacement had to be as well, according to Whirlpool, but now they charged $500 with tax to install the replacement water heater! Grand total now is $1315. Fast forward to May, 2014 and the replacement water heater, just barely 2 years old, shuts off with a code of Bad gas control valve/thermostat. I call Whirlpool and an extremely rude 20-something staffer tells me the unit is out of warranty by one month! The replacement unit has no warranty at all - nada - only the original one does... Is this unbelievable or what?! BUT, they would be glad to send me the replacement of the defective part for $200 PLUS overnight shipping charges, and I would be responsible for all labor charges to install it. Had I opted for this my original $372 water heater would have wound up costing me in the neighborhood of $1800!! I told her in no uncertain terms what she could do with the repair part, and now I am going to go shopping for a water heater that will last me more than 2-4 years, and you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool, and it wont come from Lowes.
