The dishwasher keypad failed after 1.5 years, went through 2 gas ranges, peeling paint and orange flame in less than a year. Now dealing with the washer, the pump is spitting out white plastic after less than a year. No more Whirlpool in this house.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW6200 & this yr purchased a newer dryer w/ steam capability. I wish I would have waited a couple months for a new washer that yr and purchased the one with no agitator inside! But my washer died that day & I needed one & NO ONE informed us of the changes or problems of this agitator at the time of purchase. I have had this service several times my first year and the agitator replaced I believe twice. But it still destroys clothing. I called 1 month out of warranty and even though they had been out several times the first year for the same issue, they would not help me! Yep, even after the 1st year they said to get things done I had to purchase an extended warranty even though this was a mfr issue no doubt! So, 3-4 years later I still am dealing with the very same issue over and over with NO RESOLUTION in site and $900 in the hole for this washer and I am losing money with clothing damage weekly!Even today I had two pair of jeans, $98 ea rec these terrible uniformed marks all across the legs making them unwearable! At least for where they were intended to wear them at. They are now yard jeans...yep $98 expensive yard jeans now!!! These were my good jeans which I cant afford to buy more nor replace them so I have to do without. We cant wash anything with strings such as hoodies, shirts or baby clothing with spaghetti straps or little dangle things; we have to use the laundry mat and come home & dry w/ my Cabrio steam dryer which I love. Most everything I have to use zipper net bags but even then things still can get destroyed, especially if a hole gets torn in the bag from the wings of the agitator as you will see in the below photograph. I currently have & own an expensive washer I purchased from HHGregg by Whirlpool replacing a previous whirlpool I owned for 22 years! Yep, Im wishing I had it back & put the $200 some needed to repair it! Please Whirlpool will you please do something & make this right once and for all. I dont have $900 for another washer. I just want to be able to use my washer without it destroying everything I own. I have darn photos of what this is doing and you wouldnt believe it. It took us an hour, yes an hour to untangle a top that became entangled in the flaps on the agitator. This is the worst design I have ever seen and needs to be recalled once and for all and either fixed or replaced with new machines of equal model with the agitation issues resolved or removed & with no issues or further costs to your customers! Why would you honestly believe that an agitator with wings coming off the bottom that are not attached to the bottom would serve some type of positive purpose in cleaning clothing? All it is doing is tearing them to shreds, tangling them up, doing things to hoodies which make them unrecognizable after ripping the cords so hard out of the hoodies that Ive seen them shred the material across the collar area and opening of the cording completely ruining hoodies ranging from $35-$75 a piece even after placing them in mesh bags! Why did we keep placing hoodies in the machine? Well with 4 children at times they just dont listen or get all the info as to what is going on with the machine as 3 were college kids coming home periodically & yes, to do their laundry. Look, lets talk straight. You as a company from what I have learned from appliance salesmen locally and regionally, you knew this was wrong and knew this was your last ditch effort of an agitator before you knowingly knew you were going to an agitator-less unit on your washing machines & already had one ready to go out on the floors. I know that you Whirlpool CEOs knew this unit was a bad call but chose to ignore it. You had to know it because there was no way this could have passed quality control. It had to have failed sometime in its trials showing you the issues of the wings. Unless you never did any quality control on this unit and just rushed it through? Please to the CEOs of Whirlpool, I am asking you to make this right if not for good standing of your company do it at least for families like myself who cant afford to buy another machine and are now stuck with NEW machines yet going to Laundry mats. This was to be my last washing machine I would buy hopefully. I am 54 and was not planning on buying another. How do you think this makes your company look???? Im just so tired of dealing w/ Whirlpool to only hear I have to purchase a $400 extended warranty with no guarantee that they will fix the issue. If an attorney wants to step in & believes they can help us and maybe others then Yes please help us because this is absolutely ridiculous and is a product that needs to be recalled. We are out so much money now and like I said we are to the point we cant purchase another washer. We had to purchase all new appliances as they all began going bad around the same time.

Purchased Feb 2013 - worked okay until one month ago. Now stalls in the drain and spin cycle. The rotation of the drum sounds awful, makes a loud grinding noise. I tried doing the diagnostic reset of holding the Temp button in for 3 sec, release, 3 sec more but that didnt work. Also, I have noticed clothes are DRY after the Wash cycle! Managed to interrupt the wash and unlock the lid and was very disappointed. This is not a good quality piece of equipment. This seems to be a very common problem. How unfortunate.

We bought a Whirlpool model WFW5620HW front-load washer at Lowes. The unit shook so violently during part of the spin cycle that the Whirlpool-authorized service company technician said not to use it while parts were ordered. It seems the balance ring was not functioning. Parts ordered were shocks and tub assembly. The technician suggested trying to get a whole new unit, as the repair is so intensive he had only done one or two in his career.Whirlpool customer service said they would not replace the unit, and an escalated request had the same response. I think this is terrible customer service - when there is such intensive failure in the unit, they should provide a brand new machine. The work has not yet been done - we are without use of a washer for an unknown period of time, since the order of a tub assembly is so uncommon that they do not have a time estimate. Needless to say, we will never buy Whirlpool again, and suggest you do the same.

I bought my house brand new with all new Whirlpool Gold Series appliances. About a year and a half from purchase date, I started having issues with my fridge, then my dryer, then my washer, then my fridge again and that lasted about 5 months, then my microwave and my dishwasher. My microwave stopped working in January. It’s now April and I still do not have a new one. It keeps getting lost or shipped to the wrong address or something. Every time I call, the representatives don’t know how to look it up. I wind up on hold for at least 30 minutes, and I get transferred to at least 3 different people. I hope my last appliance doesnt break because I’m over Whirlpool, and I will never buy another appliance from them again.

My fridge stainless steel doors rusted on after Whirlpool Customer Service
My fridge stainless steel doors rusted on after Whirlpool Customer Service told me to buy and use Affresh (a Whirlpool product) to clean them! The fridge was only 12 days old when this occurred, imagine my shock and disappointment. Whirlpool Customer Service reps then sent me another one of their products Whirlpool Stainless Steel Brightener with instructions to clean it every day for 3 weeks and it would resolve the rust problem. It didnt resolve the rust problem. 2 repairmen from different companies have looked at the doors and shook their heads that Whirlpools own Customer Service department recommended a product for a fridge that rusted it and then they take no responsibility for it! Whirlpool knows these stainless steel fridges have the potential to rust. Its listed in their manual. Unfortunately, buyers arent given a copy of that manual to peruse BEFORE they buy the product. I would never have purchased this Whirlpool fridge had I seen that! I have now since read of other Whirlpool stainless steel fridges rusting.

I purchased a Whirlpool 3 years ago. It was on the lower end for price so my expectations were not that high. It does an average job cleaning dishes so for the price I could give it 4/5. The pump and motor just went and had to be replaced. Almost the same cost as replacing the whole machine. The repair technician that did the work stated that this was a very common problem with Whirlpool in recent years. Of course this is not covered by warranty. So if you purchase a Whirlpool realize you are rolling the dice.

I bought a whirlpool water heater at Lowes 4 months ago, and it has stopped working. I called the customer service number and was treated so unjust. I told them that I had just had it looked at by a plumber and he said that the water heater needed to be replaced, I told the whirlpool represented if what the plumber had just advise me. So I asked them if they could just replace it, the customer service representative told me I had to call another number to have their service people look at it and that wasnt for another 10 days. At which time I asked the representative what was I to do without hot water for 10 days. She told me that they could only schedule it that way. So Im here to tell you all please please please dont ever Buy anything from whirlpool because they will not back it up! I on the other hand just lost $500 and went out and bought a Rheem water heater instead.

I purchased a Whirlpool Duet washer from a local appliance store in May 2009. I also purchased a 60-month extended warranty covering the washer until May 2015. I was shocked when I tried to use the washer today (May 16, 2012) and it would not turn on. I called the repair facility the appliance store supplied as the warranty repair facility, only to be shocked again. I was told the appliance store suddenly went out of business and my ($130) extended warranty was no longer in effect and I would have to pay for repair out of my pocket. I then called Whirlpool knowing they would stand behind their faulty $740, 3-year old washer. They told me there was nothing they could do because the one year warranty they offered was over. I had a repair person look at the washer and he told me a control board had to be replaced and the repair would cost at least $550. I told him I was just going to buy a new washer. I had not been happy with the washer from day one and was very sorry I had purchased it. It did not wash the clothes very well. Also, I had a musty/moldy smell in my basement that would not go away no matter how much I cleaned. The repairman told me today that the smell is coming from the washer. I just cant believe I am out almost $1,000 and there is nothing I can do about it. After reading the many reviews on this website about Whirlpool appliances, I am sure they will not be in business much longer. They should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing to consumers like myself especially in todays economy. Is there anything that can be done about this?

I bought a Whirlpool gold side by side with freezer on bottom and the ice maker in refrigerator part in March of 2013. Ice maker dropped ice one time. In 5 days Lowes brought me a new one out and swapped it because it was in their 7 day policy. Ok this one worked good for about 2 months. Ice maker quit again. Service came out, changed out some parts that didnt work. 2 months roll by the new parts they ordered came in. Service came out again, put those parts in. Worked for about 3 weeks then stopped again. 3 times new service guy comes out and replaces some more parts and he had the wrong motherboard so guess what, had to order. It took 4 weeks to get it here. They came, put it on. It worked for around 2 months. I asked Whirlpool for my money back, they said that that was not a going to happen. I asked for another refrig, they said they would have to have 3 more service calls on the frig before they could do that. Well I have got a $3000 dollar refrigerator that has no working ice maker and Im sick and tired of the runaround. Whirlpool sucks. I will never buy another thing with their name on it. Matter fact I wouldnt take it if you give it to me. (Why) you ask, because in a short time Im going to have to haul it off for junk and its not going to bring nowhere near what I gave for it at the scrap yard.

We bought a WRS325FDAM02 Side by Side Whirlpool Refrigerator and from day 1 we have been having problems with rust buildup on both doors. Bought it in July 2014 and have had the service people over to figure out the problem many times. They finally decided to replace the doors which didnt help because the replacement doors are doing the same thing. We have bought everything they told us to buy to clean and try and prevent the rust from coming back but nothing helps. Our warranty was ready to expire so we bought the extended warranty only to find out that cosmetic issues are not covered under the extended warranty plan... Stay away from this model refrigerator... Not only that we were then told the doors are not really Stainless Steel just some fake crap that looks like Stainless Steel. We paid good money for this refrigerator and have to deal with cleaning rust off the doors day after day.

I would not give this any stars! I purchased a Whirlpool gas range (model #WFG371LVB1) just 2 years ago at Lowe’s. The oven heats up to 475 no matter what temperature it is set at. The Whirlpool authorized service agent said it needed a control board which would cost $650 to install. The repair company found one for less--only $300. After reading all of the other complaints about these ranges, weve decided not to repair it and will probably have to replace it soon. We have been Whirlpool customers for years and will not purchase another Whirlpool product. There should be a recall on any of their products that have these continual problems. The oven cannot be safely used for normal baking.

We bought this refrigerator (Whirlpool Model # WRF9913F1FM00) last August 2016. From day 1, the water coming out from the water dispenser was not cold at all. Same temperature as the tap water. By November, the refrigerator started to get warm. Apparently, the evaporator fan motor had to be changed according to the technician who spent more than an hour on the phone with their technical advisor to diagnose the problem with the refrigerator. After a week, the refrigerator got fixed. Not only did the refrigerator started working again, even the water from the dispenser got finally cold, too. Now four months later, March 2016, the same problem: the fridge started to not get cold again. In addition to that, the ice would not come out from the ice dispenser and water from the water dispenser is not cold again. When my husband checked inside the door, the ice were all clumped together. They looked like they melted. And even the ice in the freezer bin looked the same. And on top of this, the refrigerator was making so much noise. The technician was just here again today.

I had my kitchen remodeled and purchased a Whirlpool built in electric microwave and lower oven combo (Models WOC54E and WOC95E). I selected this product because it had the right dimensions for my kitchen and I thought Whirlpool was a quality brand. Well I was completely incorrect about the latter point. Within just a few months, I noticed a drip line in the microwave door, between the outer and inner panel that could not be accessed to clean. I barely used the appliance and had no explosions in the unit that would account for this unsightly stain. When I called Whirlpool, they told me that cleaning and resealing the microwave door was not covered by warranty, and if I fixed the problem, then I would invalidate the warranty on the appliance. I had no choice but to live with this drip line, which has now been joined by others. I can think only that this is caused by condensation and that the door is permeable to moisture. Then there is the oven: When it is in use and for at least 30 min after, the fan on the unit is deafening. Not just a little noisy, but really loud. This is my first experience with Whirlpool and its products, and I would NEVER purchase others. They are not inexpensive and are clearly of substandard quality. The fact that Whirlpool is prepared to put a defective product on the market and then not be prepared to fix problems with the unit is appalling. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

I purchased this washer 3 years ago. At year 2, I had to replace the RPS part. The codes that appear represent 2 different issues as well: one being the RPS part and also for the control panel. In less than 1 year since this replacement, it is broken again! The clothes do not get very clean. You cant soak whites in hot water and bleach (it drains after 5 minutes if you stop it). You have to use the bulky setting to get enough water to actually wash your clothes. If you get too much detergent, your clothes comes out crunchy feeling even with the extra rinse.I thought this Whirlpool product would be great since my 22 year old dishwasher is a Whirlpool and still works but as the old saying goes... They dont make them to last like they used to. To say this washer is a POS Lemon is an understatement! I also have the companion dryer and it is starting to have problems including the door latch breaking into pieces. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again! Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but
Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but problems (at least 7 problems). The 1st one is a potential fire hazard. Porcelain/enamel shattered on bottom interior panel of BOTH ovens in less than 60 days (exposing underlying metal to rust). Cracked in an odd stress-pattern that indicates the metal expanded during heating, and the porcelain finish did not tolerate the expansion. The lower oven had only been used 2X before I noticed the fracture pattern. Obviously faulty design; a manufacturers defect. Whirlpool claims it is cosmetic damage and when porcelain eventually flakes off, they will send me touch-up paint. (If I dent the outside of an appliance with my wheelchair, thats cosmetic damage. Its a manufacturers defect if the damage happens during normal operation. The appliance damaged itself, not the user.)The preheat function does not work on either oven. The oven indicates it is 350-degrees, when it is actually 125-degrees. Repairman says this is normal; ignore the indicator and navigate by store-bought thermometers”. The temperature can vary 50 degrees on either side of the actual setting (thats a 100 degree range!). Between the faulty preheat and the wide range in temperature, it makes it very hard to bake bread or cake. The rest are annoying problems: The timer is a single “beep” (not even very loud), followed by another single beep every minute. This is not much help if you are folding laundry while the cookies bake. The windows have so many dots on them theyre not clear enough to see how the food is cooking (or read the store-bought thermometers) without opening the doors. The oven produces a lot of steam that fogs up the windows (Ive never had this happen, and Im past the half century point). The exhaust fan is loud and it blows hot air into the drawer under the oven (another potential fire hazard). Dont buy this oven. It has several design flaws and Whirlpool does not stand behind their product.

I called Home Depot and was told to call Whirlpool since I was still under a year warranty. After numerous calls I was referred to Advantage |Appliances, a company that provides repair services for Whirlpool. After a week the technician showed up and briefly inspects the machine to conclude that there were two problems with the machine: The controller is defective and there might be another problem since the water is not draining. An order was placed for the part and another week went by with still no part. I called the corporate office only to hear that it might take 5 to 7 days to receive it. In the meantime I had laundry piling up. I was forced to go to the laundromat with one arm in a cast and a painful lower back. I finally received the part on Friday and the technician arrived on Saturday to install the part and then announces that she was willing to fix the water pump but had to get paid in cash since this was not included in the warranty. Now mind you! This woman knew about the problem from her last visit but made believe that it wasnt a problem. Advantage Appliance makes money by extorting their customers out of money. This young lady stood there without blinking asking me to pay her $89.50 to do the job she was suppose to do in the first place. I purchased an extended warranty from Home Depot only to find out that they would not be able to do anything since I was still under warranty. I have never been so angry and want Whirlpool to take responsibility. I am sitting with a washer half full with water and no one is stepping up to do something! Whirlpool is disgusting! The corporate office was not friendly or nice about this situation. They dont care! Why do businesses like Whirlpool get away with this? This is not acceptable.

Purchased fridge in November. Broke 1st time in May. Design defect that Whirlpool knew about. Repair was to move a part called a thermistor farther away from where ice was building up. Broke again in July. Called for service July 28th. Its now Aug 23rd. Was just told by repair service parts might be in Sept 15th. Had to throw food away twice, missed work 5 times for service calls. Repair company & Whirlpool have done nothing but lie to me. All Whirlpool offered was a $150.00 inconvenience fee. Not even close to what Ive lost. Never even received that & now they wont return calls. Talked to 5 different people at Whirlpool, including supervisors. All said they would call me back, but didnt. Keep leaving messages & they just ignore & dont call back. Still no fridge. Want my money back or a new fridge at this point.

Part came in Tech replaced the motherboard and installed a heater defroster. Worked for 2 weeks and now the freezer is icing up again. What a pain in the ass.

My water heater stopped lighting. I found out that I needed to replace the thermocouple. I wasnt able to find the right one anywhere. I called whirlpool and they sent me the parts I needed totally free. I was so happy to get it in the mail the next day cause I have gone 1 week without hot water. I went to work and got a call that my kids are dizzy and throwing up. The house had filled with carbon monoxide. The only thing that saved us was the fact that my AC unit for the downstairs was broken, so it could spread the carbon monoxide to where we slept. The gas company said that we most definitely would have not woken up. I now have a notice for hazardous material on my house. I thought we all just caught the flu. I had no idea that we were being poisoned because of this damn water heater. I could scream. Im a single mother with four kids and a sick mother and cannot afford a plumber for this madness.

Whirlpool Cabrio - This expensive machine should be called the Presidential
Whirlpool Cabrio - This expensive machine should be called the Presidential. First it spins, spins, spins. It sprays tiny amounts of water, so little, that there is 2 inches or less. There isnt enough water to cover the clothes so no agitator to stir and mix them. There are ridges on the bottom of the tub called aggrivators to twist everything into pretzels. This twisting spreads the dirt around, but does NOT remove it, the utter lack of water giving it no where to go. I use a hose to add extra water, and I hand soap dirty spots. I stop the washer frequently to hand rub and slop the clothes around and un-twist them. Explain to me how running this machine 3 times plus adding water saves water and energy. I cant, in good conscience, sell this POS to someone else, and I cant afford something else. I sure miss my simple reliable old Maytag. I could say even more about this atrocity, but not now. I HATE THIS POS!

Purchased Maytag Washer and Dryer online from orange big box home improvement store. Washer had a twisted drain hose inside so it wouldnt drain right. Fixed that myself, but it still wont drain right. The spin cycle is weak at best - towels require a second, sometimes third, spin cycle. The dryer does not heat up like it should on the standard setting. The end of cycle buzzer/beeper on both units is truly pathetic... you better be within 6 feet of the machine when the buzzer goes off or youll never hear it. Having worked for a blue big box home improvement center for 7 years installing appliances, I know all too well the rabbit hole Whirlpool is trying to push me down. All I want is to return the Maytag and go back to a Whirlpool, but the not so pleasant lady on the phone with Whirlpool said all they can do is send out a technician, no returns on appliances. Buyer beware, be very aware!

UL code displayed for six months. Will not spin. Makes a squeaking noise. Recently noticed a black greasy residue around the machine. The bottom of the machine is covered with it. Have had the Cabrio for 5 years. Seems like a bearings issue. Expensive machine. Whirlpool said there are no reported issues with my model even though there are thousands of people on several websites who are having the same issues. Apparently, Whirlpool is in denial and not willing to save face with consumers and correct a horrible washing machine. Definitely will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance.

I bought a new Whirlpool gas hot water 40 gal tank from Lowes. I Installed it, but the pilot light would not light. So Cal Gas Co came out and said they did not like the new design, but that was how they were now making them. Gas is shot out from a pipe into the tank, however its fairly open. The pilot ignitor is similar to the one on barbarques that often do not last. You cannot get to it to light it manually. Several calls were made to Whirlpool and they sent a repair man out to fix it. You can imagine buying a new hot water heater and having it work part time. The repair man explained that the unit needed a new thermopile, but he could not put one on until whirlpool authorized it, which they would not. After a rather heated conversation with whirlpool they agreed to FedEx a part overnight. Of course the repairman could not wait for me to call and had to come back again. The pilot light still does not stay lit, and Whirlpool now wants to talk about how the tank is vented. This has nothing to do with the pilot light, nor did putting in a new 1/2 gas line and valve as per Whirlpools request. Whirlpool has a problem and they refuse to acknowledge it. However, it is Lowes that chose to buy from whirlpool and they do little if anything to stand behind their product and gain consumer confidence. My suggestion would be dont buy whirlpool, and shop at Home Depot.

I bought this Cabrio Washing Machine just over a year ago and it never drained water when I was doing towels and bed sheets. Life got in the way, and I managed to run smaller loads in the regular settings. Now, the machine is just over a year old and it will not spin unless I put it on the rinse and spin issue. It takes well over 2 hours to wash a load of laundry. From looking at other reviews, this is a big problem. I would not recommend this washer to anyone. It cost a ton of money and was the worst washing machine I have ever used.

Help? WP Gold double convection wall ovens WOD93EC0AS rated very high by Consumer Reports installed end of February. Monday April 6, fan in top convection oven came on suddenly while oven not on. When I tried setting a baking temperature in top oven to see what was going on, message read This function is not available. After about 15 minutes the fan went off, and I could use the oven. Worked well Tuesday and Wednesday. Oven not used again this week, but this evening, Friday, same thing happened again. Process has been repeated several times with fewer times between fan turn on. Have turned off power to ovens until I can get a repairman. Has anyone else had this experience or know what the problem is. Have been reading about the problems with WP ovens. Wondering if I need in addition to Home Depot Warranty the one from Whirlpool as well. Had Bosch convection ovens for 12 years then self-cleaned and thermostats went out and cannot be replaced because parts no longer made or available through any supplier. Said I would not buy Bosch ovens again because the parts became unavailable even sooner. What a mistake. Apparently self-cleaning element blows a lot of ovens thermostats and/or circuit boards. Loved the ovens and had only one repair after the ovens were one or two years old. The Bosch dishwasher is same age and still working great and usually cant even tell it is on.

Granted the part isnt that expensive, but the service call and replacement have cost us dearly. This is faulty tank and Whirlpool needs to recall this tank and replace them with new tanks. I used the product given to me by Sears and tried several others but still could not take marks off of the glass top. I never really used the oven that much until retired and started baking often. The self clean does not work at all unless by self clean they mean that you yourself cleans -- I should say scrub it down. I previously had a regular self clean and it truly self cleaned. All I did was take wet paper towel and wipe out. Yet when I asked the Sears saleswoman about how it cleans I was told that it was terrific -- I would not have any problems! What a laugh!

This washing machine is a piece of junk. It broke down exactly 2 days after the one year warranty expired. Home Depot said there was nothing they could do and Whirlpool said the same thing. This washing machine was not used on a weekly basis. It perhaps washed 20 loads during the course of the year. I had many issues with the sensors before it broke down completely. Sometimes, half the clothes would be dry after the entire cycle. I was so angry that I had a local independent contractor come in and look at it. He said the motor was broken and needed to be replaced. So much for $700 down the drain. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. This was the worst experience Ive ever had with an appliance.

I have made a conscious choice to remove baked food from my diet back in ea
I have made a conscious choice to remove baked food from my diet back in early 2013. That has not stopped my wife from pursuing her passion for baking from time to time. It goes without saying that baking requires a well functioning baking oven. The one that came with our home was a Whirlpool Wall Oven/Microwave combination. Sometime in early 2014 the Oven broke down. I had no choice but to replace the combination. After doing some online research and a couple of trips to stores like Sears, Home Depot and Lowes, we decided to drop $2700 of our hard earned dollars on a brand new Whirlpool WOC95EC0AS wall oven microwave combo to replace the old one. Lowes sent someone home to take measurement to make sure that we ordered the right size for the slot in our kitchen. 2 weeks after the purchase, around March 27th or 28th, we had the Microwave/oven combo installed in our kitchen by some Lowes provided installation contractor. After installing the appliance, the technician demoed both the microwave and the oven part of the combo. Everything looked good and we were happy to see the shiny new appliance adorning our kitchen. Little did we know then that this would start a seemingly unending horror story. For the first 3-4 weeks we used only the microwave and it worked as expected. Then one weekend, my wife decided to do some baking. The dough was prepared meticulously and then came the first surprise, the oven refused to turn on. Feature not available - the message scrolled across the LED display. And horror of horrors, the microwave started giving the same message immediately after. We looked online for solutions, and we found one that suggested that we try breaking the circuit for 1 minute and turn on again we tried it to no avail. And now we went from having a working microwave/broken oven to no microwave/no oven.We waited till the next day or so before placing a call to the customer service number provided in our warranty receipt. By now the 30 day return guarantee had expired and it was the end of April, 2014. Product was now under manufacturers warranty. Whirlpool/Lowes customer service scheduled a technician to come take a look at the oven.My wife took a day off from work and waited for the technician. The technician from J&H appliance repair of SJ came home, took a look and then tried breaking the circuit and turning it on again after a minute; of course, it did not work. After consulting with someone on the phone, he decided to order some parts the main circuit board. He promised to come back after the part arrived. We did receive a call from J&H to schedule an appointment to install the part and schedule a time we did. J&H decided to no-show us on the appointment and my wife wasted another day of her time-off from work.We called customer-service again and this time they decided to send in a technician from a Sears owned company called A&E Factory Service. A technician came home and he went through the same steps as the earlier technician from J&H. This time, it was my turn to stay home and welcome the visitor. Finally when there was no trick up his sleeves to left to try, he decided he is going to order the main board. A&E technician did something different, he ordered the part to my home. I called him as soon as it arrived. We scheduled a time and he arrived to install the part. I stayed home again. Well, result was no different and the appliance was in no mood to oblige to our coaxing and cajoling. Feature not available, it continued to bleep out. He ordered 2 more boards to my home. I stayed home again to welcome the technician and he arrived again to install the 2 new boards but the result was no different than the last time. Feature not available - the zombie appliance screamed. He told me that there is only one that remains to be done which is to replace the front panel circuitry so he ordered it. By now it was end of June. We hadnt used the oven for 3 full months and the microwave for 2 months.First week of July, a new technician from A&E showed up early in the morning to install the newly ordered front panel. Surprise, Surprise - Feature not available screamed the shiny lemon sitting in my kitchen wall. The technician asked me if I will be home the whole day and I said yes. Another technician, a supposedly senior expert came by that afternoon. He tinkered with it for a couple of hours and like all who came before him, he surrendered. He said there is nothing left to do with the oven and that he is going to recommend that the oven be replaced. He left me a voice mail next morning saying that I need to call Whirlpool myself and apprise them of my experience and ask for a replacement. So I called the customer service after a long 1 hour talk with customer service rep, followed by a conversation with his rude supervisor. I was told that Whirlpool no longer deals with A&E that they broke their relationship with them as of June 31st, 2014. I failed to understand why that was my fault. I was told they need to send technician from another company, can you guess the company whirlpool recommended? It would be funny, if it wasnt incredibly painful to deal with horrible customer support representatives yes, it was the the no-show company J&H. I told him Id have nothing to do with J&H. So they recommended their only other option, a company called AGO.AGO technicians started showing up at my house since early July and I waited with baited breath for them to suggest a way forward to a resolution. Well good thing that I didnt hold my breath for that to happen. AGO technicians have made 8-9 visits to my home during July and August with the last visit being on Aug 20th. They replaced all the boards that A&E guys had already replaced the previous month. On August 21st, I received a call from AGO rep saying that they have given up that the product is irreparable. They gave me a reference number and asked me to call Whirlpool for a final resolution.I called Whirlpool customer service on August 22, 2014 and Spoke to Jennifer and her supervisor for 32 minutes. They wanted to restart the whole process of sending technicians to my home. It would be funny if they hadnt stolen $2700 of my hard earned money + all the lost hours and productivity + vacation time lost + headache they caused + the pain of not having a working Oven/Microwave in our kitchen + dealing with rude customer service reps, I lost it. I threatened to put the whole recorded conversation on YouTube. The rude inconsiderate supervisor hung up on me.I called back after a few minutes and spoke with a tad bit more reasonable rep named Ashley. At least, she had the patience to hear me out without barking at me about what my rights are as a customer. Well she had no better solution than to suggest another technician appointment what was the excuse this time? That the last technician from AGO didnt call Whirlpools tech support line while he was at my house. As if that is my fault. I agreed and we setup an appointment for Wednesday, August 27, 2014 between 8AM and 12PM with the same old company J&H who no showed me once. Goes to show you who Whirlpools associates in business are. They had only two companies providing repair services in San Jose AGO and J&H.I took the morning off from work on Aug 27, 2014 and waited till 12 noon and there was no sign of technician. So I called Whirlpool customer service number one more time. As you would expect by now, a rude customer service person named Eva from Michigan picked up my call. It was reasonably clear to me during that conversation that the J&H technician no-showed because appointment was not communicated to them. She emphatically claimed that my warranty is not a product replacement warranty but a repair warranty and that she needs to send me a technician to take a look at the product. Can anyone believe it? She told me I have only one option either to accept the perpetual technician visits or she will note that I have rejected their offer to service the product. I told her I am not rejecting anything, just exploring all my options. She assured me I had no other options. The arrogance of these people! So here I am, several thousand of my hard earned money stolen by Whirlpool and I still have no working product. Adding insult to injury, 2 weeks ago I received a letter from Whirlpool pitching me to extend my 3 year extended warranty to 5 years. They want to inflict more pain and charge you for the privilege.I have more options than Eva would want me to know. Luckily I have legal coverage under my benefit plans at work. Even more importantly there is social media and internet. I am pursuing those options at the moment. Heres the summary: Lowes takes my $2700 on March 13th. I get the Wall Oven delivered and installed on March 27th. A total of at least 15 repair visits are made to my home between first week of March May and August 21 (I have started losing count). Time since product purchase: > 5 months. # of times the oven has worked : 0. Hours spent talking to rude customer service reps: 4-6 hours. Time spent at home baby sitting repair technicians : > 100 hours. Lowes, Inc washed their hand stating 30 day money back guarantee is over. Its customer service people were not of any help either. UPDATE 9/15/14:Within a few hours of publishing this post (on 9/2/14), I was contacted by both Lowes and Whirlpool via Twitter. Both the companies seemed genuinely interested in resolving this issue. After I DMed my appliance and contact information via twitter, Melissa from Whirlpool called me and left me a voice mail on Wednesday, Sept 3rd, 2014 informing that they have decided to replace the oven. I was told in that voice mail that I should expect a call from Whirlpool on the details of the exchange before end of day on Friday (Sept 5th). I was contacted by Lowes and I informed the Lowes rep that Whirlpool has agreed to replace my oven.I thought I would really be able to make a single update to the post informing the world that Whirlpool really made amends and tried to hard to correct the failures of the past. It is 9/15/14 today and I havent received any updates from Whirlpool about the how/when of the exchange. I made 2 customer service calls to Whirlpool last week. I was unable to speak to Melissa the first time, but did speak with another rep. She told me she will pass the information on to Melissa and ask her to contact me. She connected me to Melissas voice mail and I left her a voice mail. Melissas voice mail greetings suggested that I also contact her via Whirlpools customer service email for faster response. So I did that too.On Thursday 12:37PM pacific, I received a call from Melissa. She had no useful information to share with me. She is waiting for some paper pusher to do his/her job and could not make any promises as to when it will be resolved. My file is stuck in one of Whirlpools many bureaucratic bottlenecks. This is no personal indictment of Melissa it is just evidence that Whirlpools is not serious about customer satisfaction. My experience is not isolated as evidenced not just by this event but also by the number of people ranting on their social media handles. Here was an opportunity to rectify its mistake and win the confidence of a customer back and so far Whirlpool seems to be uninterested in any such thing.IMPORTANT UPDATE (9/16/14): Please share this story via your social media handles. It is important to hold these people accountable for their actions. It is also important that we inform consumer about the perils of doing business with these organizations. Thank you very much. UPDATE (9/17/14): Whirlpools customer supports twitter moniker is @WhirlpoolCare. LOL. They could have demonstrated care by resolving customer issues, instead they removed my permission to post to their Facebook Page. WhirlpoolCare indeed.:) I will be handling this mostly through Twitter follow me at **. I will be using hashtag #whirlpoolsux going forward. I would request that you do the same. Whirlpool Accubake Gas stove/oven - Several times now, in the year and a half that Ive owned this appliance, Ive had issues with the knobs easily being turned on. The pilot never lights, and gas leaks horribly. One day I decided to take my daughter to the park and wed ran into the kitchen to grab a few drinks. A few hours later when we came home, I barely got the key in the door when I smelled gas. I left the door wide open and stepped inside the house and saw the not one, but two knobs had somehow been turned on. Im assuming that when my daughter and I grabbed our drinks, one or both of us must have barely bumped the knobs. We had to stand outside and leave the front door open for over an hour to air out the house!Ive found that I literally have to keep the knobs off the stove to prevent the gas from leaking in our home and someone passing out. NEVER in a million years would I have made such a huge purchase (and yes, its a huge purchase for a single mother!) on something thats used on a daily basis if I had known what a danger it could be. I almost forgot to add, that the stove top grill began rusting the first time I washed them off and the oven often does not light and we have to leave the drip pan unscrewed in order to light the pilot.

I purchased a Whirlpool over the range microwave (model #YWMH31017AS-1) in April 2013, and had it installed in August of same year. It worked fine up until November 2014 - just over one year later. Everything on it works, except for the most important feature - IT DOESNT HEAT ANYTHING UP. Doesnt matter how long you set the timer for - the contents come out stone cold! I called Whirlpools 1-800 number and was told that because I did not purchase the extended warranty, I was responsible for all parts and labor costs. I find this completely unacceptable! I have had cheap $70 microwaves that have lasted 15-20 years. I will never buy another Whirlpool product, and am telling everyone I know to do the same!

We bought the Whirlpool Duet set for $1,000 18 months ago. About four months ago, it started shredding our clothes. I would get them out with holes in them, but there was nothing sharp in the washer. Then the grey outside seal started deteriorating and getting tiny balls of rubber all over my clothes, ruining several white shirts. It always smells like mold. I just went to get my clothes out of it to find out it leaked water all over with that disintegrated rubber from the seal. The seal had completely ripped from the top to the bottom drain for no apparent reason. Now we are replacing the below. We JUST paid it off this month. It is crazy, it is already breaking!

I purchased this heater in 2009. I have had so much problems with the pilot staying lit or the thermocouple. Had to have that changed, have to clean under heater monthly. I have called Whirlpool numerous times because the pilot light goes out. Now I have a problem with it staying lit. Whirlpool tells me I have to pay for service labor. They sent out a technician who broke the igniter and I am being told I have to pay labor cost to have this fixed. THEIR TECHNICIAN BROKE THE IGNITER BUT THEY WANT ME TO PAY THE LABOR COST TO FIX WHAT HE BROKE. I have had it with Whirlpool. This heater is a piece of garbage as far as I am concerned. I am tired of having no hot water.

I bought my first Cabrio set in 2008 to replace Maytags that lasted forever but looked their age on the outside. No problem with cleaning and drying, just wanted something new. What a mistake! I looked in Consumer Report Guide to pick and found the Cabrio set. Had problems after the first 4 months - UL uneven load codes flashing up, and had to replace suspensions and bearings, boards, etc. Unfortunately within that 4 months I bought another Cabrio set to put in my vacation home. Started with the same issues and really hard to get a service technician to come out because of where we were located. Customer service with Whirlpool sucks as well as Sears service. It is AMAZING to me that Whirlpool will NOT stand behind this product. I am writing this as I see an F1 code flashing on my washer here at my second home. I have a load of towels in it and house guests arriving in the morning! I will be trashing this washer and dryer and finding something old school and reliable. I want no bells and whistles, just clean and dry clothes. Whirlpool, you should be ashamed.

Whirlpool Cabrio Model WTW6500 - I ask all of you to stay away from the Whirlpool Cabrio sets. I have spent hundreds of dollars trying to fix my washer. I just spent $260 for a computer board. Now it stays on rinse cycle. So now I need the motor sensor harness which is another $90. Service call $80 x 2. So, now I am going to take the computer board back and get my 260 dollars back. For the cost of $400 to fix this washer. You can go and buy a new one for around $400. Then, Im going to the lawyers to file a class action suit against Whirlpool. So, owners; be looking in your mailboxes for a class action suit against Whirlpool for those who own the cabrio set. Im tired of having to deal with whirlpool customer service. Maybe, whirlpool should think of having their laundry made back in America.

Purchase 2009 Duet Washer & Dryer (WFW9700VW00). Recently have had error codes coming up - F35 for one. Could not get washer to reset. Had to keep unplugging and plugging back in. Service was called and the tech knew right away what was wrong. He ordered and installed an analog pressure switch. While he was working he mentioned that this was a known error and if we had called with this problem a couple years ago Whirlpool would have replaced the washer. Im not looking for a replacement but I feel Whirlpool should cover the part having been a known issue.

Have tried by setting a pan of water in the bottom and raising the temperature to 300 degrees, but nothing cleans. We went with this feature to be more environmentally responsible. We bought our house in December 2010 and the water heater (fg1f4034t3NOV) just started to give me fits. I had the same pilot light problems everyone else encountered. The person at the 877-251-1679 number gave me a good tip and that may have fixed the problem in the short-term. They told me theres a screen for venting on the bottom of the unit and to use a bottle brush after turning off the unit to clean the screen. I did this yesterday and the pilot light has stayed lit. I called the toll-free number and was told the water heater was out of warranty, but they could send me the part to fix the heater at half-price. I ordered it and they waived ground shipping. I hope to have the situation fixed soon. I’m very pleased with the level of service.

We purchased the Whirlpool washer less than a year ago and are now having the 4th transmission put into it. We are also having the 3rd timer put into it. We purchased this from Sears and bought the extended warranty (thank God). One of the times the technician ordered the parts to repair the machine. The service center sent the wrong parts and we had to wait an additional week for the correct parts to arrive. The 3rd transmission they installed lasted a week before it leaked gear oil all over our floor. When you do get a service call scheduled it will get rescheduled to a later date. This happened twice. They also cancelled the service call once before they fixed the machine. If I could give a zero star for this I would. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHER AND DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO SEARS FOR ANYTHING. Worst company to business with. I will say this that the service guy that comes out to do the work is a good guy. He stayed until almost 9:00 pm on one of the service calls. I told them that I would never buy another Whirlpool product. It is now 2017, and I have not purchased any other product made by Whirlpool. I want to make sure that a company manufacturing expensive machines designed to break within only a few years of normal use, goes out of business. Whirlpool’s water heater coupler. Our plumber came to our home and explained how there was a problem with our type of water heater from Whirlpool that had been sold from Lowe’s between 2000 and 2006. We purchased ours in 2004. I have the receipt. Our plumber stated the underneath screen was clear and in good shape. He also said they had other water heaters with the same type of problem and those companies had provided the new part free and free shipping due to the suit. Whirlpool has not. We have been without hot water for a couple of days and we are hoping to have the piece by tomorrow. Since this suit has already been dealt with, then how do I get my money back from Whirlpool for being dishonest with requiring me to pay? Do I need to file something? I have followed the links and I have been researching it and our model number and serial match the product that was found faulty.

We moved into our new condo a few months ago and my wife noticed that the knobs and front of our new Whirlpool Stove were getting too hot to touch so we called Whirlpool and since then never used stove. Was over one year old, we had to call their factor service representative. The charge was $98 plus labor $90 to tell us that even though the surfaces were way too hot to touch and dangerous to touch they were still within the factory specs of 167 degrees for the knobs, 152 degrees for the drawer, and 172 degrees for the front glass. He found the front of the unit reached 152 degrees which was hot enough to cause a serious burn when the stove was only set to 400 degrees. Why would a company set specs that will cause serious injuries? If my wife or grandchildren get burned by this crappy stove Whirlpool will be hearing from my lawyer. Stay away from any Aquaclean Whirlpool stove.

The French door fridge with the freezer drawers on the bottom are very flexible and easy to access. It goes downhill from there. The ice maker takes 4 days to fill up the bin with no use. The unit does not defrost and freezes up every six weeks requiring a manual defrost. Three mods have been made under the service contract and performance has not improved. PC boards have been replaced and at least one thermistor. My understanding is this is a single compressor unit with piping, relays and valves to port refrigerant to two different evaporators as needed. Unfortunately it simply does not properly balance/defrost and the freezer door freezes up. It certainly is not compatible with a high humidity environment. We will never buy another cooling design like this, but sure like the French Door layout. Glad we have a service contract.

Ordered this two days after my son came home from college. He had to be out of his apartment July 31 2016 and brought 4 years worth of laundry with him. Monday my machine breaks, Tuesday I order this thing from Lowes Arrives at 2:30 on Thursday and as it is being installed I ask why the water fill is so slow. It is trickling out like a childs toy. Delivery man tells me the water is completely turned on. He hears this remark a lot from people who buy this model. I put in my first load of laundry, a small load of about 6 things that I am washing for my mother who is in a nursing home. They have that nursing home smell. I push pause as the machine is cleaning to unlock the lid and peek inside. Oh my God the clothes are sitting on top of each other not even covered in water. I then shut the lid and listen to the tiny slush of the machine agitating. At the end of the cycle they smell exactly the same. Dirty.I had read to use the deep fill so I rewash them on deep fill. Look inside halfway through and what do I see? Wet clothes piled on top of each other, still not floating in water. How are these clothes getting clean when they are in a wet pile on the bottom of the machine? I take them out. Still not clean. Not smelling quite as bad, but not smelling like soap. I then washed sheets, a blanket, and some clothing of my sons. Nothing smelled particularly dirty but NOTHING smelled like soap. The quilt was covered in hairs (my son and roommates had a dog) and soap residue. I had read this in reviews online also. I am wasting time since each load takes from 50 to 130 minutes (yes). I am wasting soap, oh but I am saving water - not really.Well Lowes has a 30 day return policy so I went down there and am expecting a GE machine with an agitator tomorrow, Saturday! Cant wait. The only one saving money are these manufacturers They no longer are spending cash on producing the agitator out of plastic, attaching it with nuts and bolts, or using gaskets between the parts. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK, do not even look at it. I question all the HE machines at this point. You need to use HE soap cause you cant wash away suds in a machine with no water. What a con - the whole thing is.

The electric Whirlpool double oven range seemed like a good choice for a single person. I bought it in 2016 around the same time I had some personal setbacks. After finding my emotional equilibrium I decided to return to my much loved baking. While I have no other complaints on this range the ovens are a problem for baking. The digital oven temperature readout doesnt reflect temperature fluctuations in the ovens. Once you enter your desired baking temp the readout never changes even after you open and close the oven door say to take out cookies. Given some of my poor results I suspect even when Im not opening and closing the oven door the temperature is not maintained. I was going to get an oven thermometer but the user manual says it wont reflect an accurate temperature due to way the elements cycle to provide a consistent temperature. Ha! If you want to bake this is not the range for you. My inconsistent results and too often wasted ingredients frustrate me no end.

I purchased dishwasher model #GU2800XTVT0 in May of 2009. Today, it leaked water all over and damaged my floor. My husband pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet and found that the motor had fallen off. It did not have a bracket to hold it in place and worked loose, which then disconnected a hose. I called the customer service but they wont do anything because it is beyond the 12 month warranty. It only lasted slightly more than two years. This is obviously a manufacturing defect and we were just unlucky enough that it failed after the warranty had expired. The most ironic thing is that my husband worked for Whirlpool for 20 years. I have had too many problems with the thermocouple beginning about two years after I purchased the water heater in 2003. Whirlpool keeps replacing the thermocouple, but I have to pay for the plumber to come out and repair the unit. This runs me about $180 each time. The thermocouple has burned out three times since September of this year. The plumber didnt charge me anything the second time it went out. But it went out for the 3rd time today and he recommended that I replace the unit. Of course, it is out of warranty and Whirlpool was happy to tell me that I could purchase a new thermocouple at my own expense from them. I have paid for this water heater three times over with repairs. Whirlpool knows that there is a defect with the design of the water heater. There is no way that a regular consumer can get inside the water heater to clean it. I will never purchase any Whirlpool products ever! I advise anyone reading this to follow suit.

I took a load out of my Cabrio washer and put it directly into the dryer. They had been on high spin. Now they are on medium heat. The clothes seem warm whenever I open the dryer to see if they are dry. They are warm... but not dry. There are no towels or jeans in the load either. T-shirts, underwear, etc. Ridiculous! The last load was jeans. Also 3 hours, but I thought maybe I had it on the wrong cycle. Now I think its the machine, not me.
