MSRP: $1249.99 USD
LG Dishwasher Model LDT7808BM Error Codes
CODE: IE
PROBLEM: Not filling
FIX: Check that the water supply cut-off valve for the dishwasher is fully open. Check the water inlet supply hose for a kink. Unplug the dishwasher, shut off the water supply and disconnect the inlet supply hose from the inlet water valve. Check the filter screen on the inlet water valve for a clog-replace the valve if the filter screen is clogged.
CODE: OE
PROBLEM: Not draining
FIX: Check the sink drain or garbage disposal for a clog and clear any clogs you find. If the sink or garbage disposal drains okay, pull off the dishwasher drain hose from the sink or garbage disposal connection and check the end of the drain hose for a grease clog. Clear grease clogs from the drain hose. If the dishwasher uses an air gap, check the air gap for clogs and clear any clogs.
CODE: AE or E1
PROBLEM: Water leak detected
FIX: Abnormally high circulation pump speed caused by low water level in the tub can cause the AE or E1 error codes. Water that leaks into the base of the dishwasher cabinet and trips the flood switch can also cause the AE or EI code. Unplug the dishwasher and shut off the water supply. Check the dishwasher cabinet base for water. If water leaked into the base, find and repair the cause of the leak. Water could leak from the water fill line, water inlet guide, drain pump, drain hose, door seals or sump.
CODE: FE
PROBLEM: Water overflow detected
FIX: The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly.
CODE: tE
PROBLEM: Thermistor (temperature sensor) failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and disconnect the wires from the thermistor on the heater. Measure the resistance through the thermistor using a multimeter. The meter should measure 11,320 ohms at 75 degrees (room temperature). Replace the heater assembly (which includes the thermistor) if the meter measures less than 1,000 ohms or more than 20,000 ohms.
CODE: LE
PROBLEM: Locked up circulation pump motor
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check for an obstruction that's preventing the pump impeller from spinning. Remove any debris or foreign objects from the sump. If the pump impeller is clear, check the wiring connections on the pump and reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the wire harness from the motor and check the resistance through pins 1-2, pins 2-3 and pins 1-3 of the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure between 8 and 20 ohms (resistance of the motor windings).
CODE: HE
PROBLEM: Heater failure
FIX: This code appears when water isn't heating or when the thermistor (temperature sensor) detects that water temperature is higher than 194 degrees. If water inside the dishwasher tub is extremely hot, measure water temperature using an accurate thermometer. If the thermometer measures water temperature near 190 degrees, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because a stuck heater relay on the control board is causing the heating element to stay on constantly.
CODE: nE
PROBLEM: Diverter motor failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check the wire harness connections on the diverter motor and diverter position switch. Reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the diverter motor wires and check resistance through the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure around 4,000 ohms of resistance. Replace the diverter motor if the meter measure infinite resistance.

LG Dishwasher Model LDT7808BM
I have a washing machine that is 3 years old that needed a repair covered under the 7-year warranty. Because I cannot find my receipt after 3 years, you will not honor the warranty, even though the serial number shows its not close to 7 years. Because its a premium product, a receipt is required. I spent $1,000 on a premium machine that LG will not honor warranty on due to a 10-cent piece of paper. This is not how you treat your customers who purchase premium products. And premium products should not break after 3 years.
Great appliance that only uses the water it needs and no more. Had proven to be very dependable and reliable. Offers many custom settings. I think the best feature is its auto water feature, since were on a septic its not using unnecessary amounts of water on smaller loads.
I bought all new appliances for my kitchen... all LG. Love everything but the dishwasher! I never thought I had to read the manual to run this... but one day realized that the filter was really greasy and there was water standing in the drain. Then I found a quick guide with my papers that actually said to clean this filter every time you wash! The water never drains out which creates moisture even if you put a paper towel in it each time you use it! Really... Does a manufacturer expect you to clean the filter each time? Plus we dont ever put dirty dishes in it to begin with! Pricey item And LG wont back this up because I am beyond my warranty. Who has time for this!? Forget this product.
Broken LG gas stove knobs and you know which ones Im sure. Consequences? No future LG products to be purchased and I purchase approximately 200 per year.
My LG fridge isnt even 3 years old. The compressor has gone out 2 times. Not even a month between breaking twice. The matching stove broke 2 days between each other. I will never buy LG again or if their parts are used in another brand. Ill make sure to do my research on my next purchase. Hundreds of dollars lost in food each time. This is ridiculous! LG should be offering consumers their money back. I dont want a fridge that will keep breaking. I want to buy from another company but unfortunately I live paycheck to paycheck and had to save for this garbage.
After buying LG refrigerator, ice dispenser stopped working. Repairman out three months finally replaced. After four years food not cold. Freezer cold, put food in freezer didnt freeze but was cold then was warm. The compressor went. Called several places no one able to repair compressor.
I have purchased LG front load inverter direct drive 7.5 kg 6 motion washing machine. Although it was quite expensive for me but sales man succeeded to give me belief that it is the best model. After finishing warranty period that is 2 years and after exactly 2 years and 8-9 months machine is giving error. We had register complaint then 4 to 5 times their different technicians came telling various problem. And at last they found but spare parts are so costly so I will not suggest this w.m. for ordinary people who cant afford this regular maintenance of around 2000. If small part is also damage you have to take whole unit e.g. PCB harness for one part of filter PCB. It is really not affordable. Company should provide those small parts instead of insisting customer to buy whole units.
We bought this LG gas dryer (model DLG 2141w) back in October 2011. We have kept the lint filter clean and washed. It was under normal use and now we have a circuit board problem. The dryer is just 50 days past the warranty. LG product sale presentations say theyre strong but what cheap circuits they must have. Plus the customer services for our tech that researches it was poor. I took a lot of time on hold and the part availability is almost impossible. I will never by a LG product again and hope you turn your head away so you dont experience the nightmare of live good products.
We purchased an LG fridge in November. Soon we noticed water puddling on top of the freezer door (bottom freezer model). Then we noticed that the water was freezing on the outside of the ice maker bucket, and that the ice cubes were melting then freezing together. When we used a blowdryer to melt some of the ice so we could remove the ice bucket, the melted water ran out, not from the dispenser as we would expect, but from all the seams in the door. On February 9th, I sent in a repair request. The provider I was given (which took a couple of days to receive) was unprofessional and after giving my address, told me they had no availability in my area and to find someone else and hung up. On February 14th, I received two more service providers contact info. One of them never answered my repeated calls. The other one informed me that they only serviced a neighboring county. Around February 21, I received another service providers contact info, and a service appointment was set up for March 1, between 8 am and noon. I took the morning off work. When the technician had not arrived by 12:30, I called the service provider who said they would contact the technician and get back to me. I was called back in a few minutes and was told the technician was stuck in traffic and would be at my home by 1 pm. At 1:15, he had still not arrived and I called the service again. She said she would call him again and get back to me. This time when she called back, she said he did not answer his phone and she that she left him a voicemail. When he finally showed up, around 2:30, he said that he had been running a little behind. After looking at the ice maker, he told me this was a common problem with this model of fridge and we would need a whole new door, which might or might not fix the problem, and someone would be in touch with me within 24 hours to set up an installation date and time. Nine days later, I got the call and an appointment was scheduled for March 13th, again between 8 am and noon. Again, I took the morning off work. Again, the technician did not arrive till after 2 pm. He did install a new door, said we were all set and left. And now the ice maker does not work at all. So far, Ive missed two days work, dealt with 4 incompetent and unprofessional service providers authorized by LG. Ive read many reviews praising LG products, but frankly all the reviews for their customer service are very negative (wishing we had checked those out and not just the product reviews when we purchased the appliances in November).
I ordered a Part for my stove hood (lsvc302st) in April. It is now June and theyre telling me the part is on backorder till the end of the month. Every time I call the parts on backorder for longer. Play it safe and do not buy Any LG products. Its new and shouldnt have broke this soon. I dont use it a lot.
I bought a LG LFX31925ST 2 1/2 years ago from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The compressor went out in only 2 1/2 years. You would think when you pay $2400 for a fridge it would last a little bit longer. Last fridge I had lasted 35 years but then again it was not a LG. Got extended warranty but takes over a week and half to get repairman here. I like getting ice for coolers on a daily basis, updating kitchen and laundry room. But rest assured they will not be LG, worst junk I ever bought.
I liked my LG refrigerator when I bought it about three years ago, but its compressor went out, and I wasnt very happy with it a few weeks ago. I love the refrigerator, the way it operates as well as the shelving, and its easy to take care of. But then I noticed my freezer things were getting a little mushy soft in the freezer. A few days later, my son came over and we went through the directions on how to restart it. You pull the plug and let it rest, which we did, and we adjusted some other things. But when I got up the next morning, my whole kitchen floor was full of water. So, he said the compressor went out on it. LG then came out here and put a new compressor in. They also sent me a check for the food that I lost, which I did lose a lot. I appreciate that I didnt have to put any money out, but it was very frustrating. A refrigerator should last longer than three years.
We bought our brand new LG front load washing machine 2 years ago. It already has a bad bearing. LG will not warranty it because I dont have an extended warranty. This is clearly either cheap parts, or terrible quality assurance on LGs part. Bearings shouldnt go bad this fast. Car wheels have bearings that last up to 200,000 miles. The customer service department there expressed that it wasnt really their problem, and continued to ask me to pay a deposit on service for the unit. Will never buy an LG appliance again.
I’m writing this review so that hopefully other consumers won’t make the same mistake I made by buying this LG refrigerator. I bought this refrigerator on 5/6/13 at Famous Tate in Brandon, Fl, and paid $2545 for it—my very first “modern”, expensive fridge. This is Model # LF X 319455T/02 (stainless steel French Door). I’ve had nothing but trouble with it since the beginning, and after reading all these reviews, I can see that I am clearly not the only one.The food has gone bad periodically over the last 5 years, resulting in my having to throw stuff out quite often. I confess that I actually ate food that I probably shouldn’t have, and for someone with an autoimmune condition who MUST have fresh fruits and vegetables to survive, this is completely unacceptable. There had been water accumulating in the refrigerator for a long time, and a few months ago there was water all over the left hand side of the bottom shelf as well as all over the floor. I immediately called LG to discuss the problem, and rather than pay them in advance for one of their techs to come here, I paid a technician from Mr. Appliance to come here. He may not have been an authorized LG technician, but he was highly trained and extremely knowledgeable about these LG french door refrigerators. By the way, most repair technicians in my area refuse to even work on LG appliances. That should tell you something!!The guy (Ron) who came to my house determined that the automatic ice maker was causing the problem, and he literally showed me how this one defective part always malfunctions in these models. He further explained that eventually the compressor will probably go out. The replacement part has a heater built into it that supposedly will prevent this problem from occurring, but between parts and labor, it would cost me over $500. That day he enlightened me about a lot of things, and after doing extensive research, I found out that everything he told me that day was true. For instance, I found out that LG has known about this manufacturer’s defect for years, and yet continues to manufacture new models with the same defective part. Sounds very shady and evil to me. Nevertheless, I was going to agree to the repair whether Ron did it or LG (for a slight discount), but then decided against investing more money into this piece of crap.Instead, I bought new water and fresh air filters, and tried to remember to empty the ice container periodically. I should mention that I have NEVER personally used the water dispenser or the ice maker, but I thought it would be nice to have it for any guests who occasionally come over. That being said, for the last few months, the fridge seemed to work ok—not great, but ok. Then the last few weeks there was more water accumulating inside food containers. I just wiped them out, threw more rotten food out, and just put up with it. There’s also a strange discoloration on the touchscreen panel as well as a stainless steel finish looking like it’s peeling off. Clearly very cheaply made. It’s interesting that they charge a premium price for a cheaply made product. Don’t get me started on the faulty design which has its own set of problems. So, on Monday night (7/30/18) or technically Tuesday 12:30 am (8/31/18), the fridge started making an extremely loud noise. There was water everywhere and everything in the freezer had defrosted. I immediately called LG (they do answer the phone 24/7), and was instructed to turn off the breaker to the fridge. I did that, and at least that stopped the noise. I also dumped out the ice container in order to prevent matters getting worse. The representative told me that according to the schedule, a service tech. most likely would be able to come out Friday and for me to call back at 8:00 am to confirm. Obviously I’d have to pay $125 in advance plus pay the service tech for any additional labor. I explained to her that I now have to clean up the huge mess, try to salvage what food I can, and that I’m very ill, 80 lbs and need to be properly nourished to stay alive.I asked her how I’m expected to live without a refrigerator for 4-5 days and probably much longer after ordering parts and having the tech come back to complete the repair. She had absolutely no response for me. I did call back later that morning, paid $125, and scheduled the tech. to come to my house on Friday. Meanwhile I drove to the convenience store in the middle of the night, bought 4 bags of ice and went home to start the cleanup process. I worked all night long using the wet vac, taking everything out of the fridge and freezer, throwing lots of stuff away, and putting whatever food I thought worth saving into coolers with ice. I thoroughly dried the inside of the fridge and freezer, and then proceeded to clean and sterilize. Needless to say, I never slept having worked tirelessly throughout the night. Needless to say I was utterly exhausted.Due to the dire emergency I was in, I sent messages to 7 people on Craigslist and Next Door desperate to get a fridge delivered to me ASAP. The LG repair tech (Sonny) called me later that day and instructed me to turn the fridge back on, and said that he could come here on Saturday-not Friday. Fortunately, that horrible noise never came back on, so that at least was a relief. He proceeded to explain to me that from what I told him, it sounds like a very complex problem, and that his labor would be very intensive, and it could cost me over $1,000 between parts and labor regardless of the compressor being covered under the 10 year warranty. He honestly didn’t think it was worth fixing, and suggested I buy another fridge. We’ve talked several times in the last few days, and he has reiterated that I need to purchase another fridge ASAP. He clearly didn’t want to come here and told me to call LG and cancel the appt.I’ve also been on the phone with LG multiple times in the last 4 days for hours complaining about the situation to no avail. LG representatives in the Philippines are very nice, but there’s a huge communication problem, and it’s beyond frustrating trying to get my point across. I kept getting put on hold, transferred to various individuals, and no one seemed to understand a word I said. All of this massive stress compounded by 4 days of virtually no sleep has comprised my health even more. This entire ordeal has been an absolute nightmare, and I’m outraged that someone can very casually say “Oh well, just go buy another fridge” after I spent over $2500 on what I thought (confirmed by the sales guy) would be a state of the art refrigerator that would last for years. Boy did that turn out to be wrong. I agree with what the rest of you said about LG.I will NEVER buy another LG appliance, and advise everyone else to avoid this brand like the plague. Not surprisingly, I’ve found my brand new LG front loader to be quite frustrating. What a joke “LG Life’s Good”. Life is anything but good when you have an LG appliance. More like a nightmare. I deserve to be compensated for all the food I’ve lost and continue to lose as well as the toll this has taken on my health. Not to mention countless hours on the phone with LG and the hours it has taken me to write this complaint. The abhorrent way in which LG manufactures their products and provides service is nothing short of unconscionable, and I really hope we can all get appropriately compensated for what we’ve had to endure.
Until I replaced the thermostat, the oven was unable to maintain temperatures within 100 degrees. It now works fine. The center gas nozzle used for grilling has never worked and it’s really a pain in the butt trying to remove the top to gain access to it.
My LG washing machines turbo drums sensor is fixed to holding the door of the machine. Since it is in frequent use, the sensor gets damaged and rusted due to frequent water contact. In the last two years, I have changed the sensor twice. This is the biggest fault that your machine has. Because of this, we will not prefer LG machine in the future. Please change the place of fixing the sensor in LG washing machines.
Our tech did the best he could, we would give him 5 Stars. However, it took 4 trips over a six week period and the refrigerator/freezer loads of ruined food. LGs compressor failed, then the drier failed. This is a very expensive unit and we expected it not to fail, and fail that many times.
LG is one of my favorite brands. Thus far, Ive had no issues with it. LG has got to be one of the most innovative brands regarding household appliances. I just liked the refrigerator best. The way it was displayed at Best Buy was very appealing. The style, its features, and how practical it came across. The customer service representatives at Best Buy were very convincing as to how convenient the latest LG refrigerator would be. And boy, were they right. Its very nice. Its interesting, efficient, and easy to use. But I would want the water filter to be cleaned more often. Otherwise, I have no issues with my refrigerator. The LG brand works really well. I highly recommend it to anyone.
After only 5 years the compressor on my LG French door refrigerator has failed (LFC25776). Although the cost of a replacement compressor is covered under warranty we will have to pay for the labor and the service technician informed us that the replacement compressor will only be covered for 90 days. We have lost all the food in the refrigerator. We just purchased another 100 pounds of ice for the cooler. I had designed my kitchen around this new refrigerator and purchased all new LG appliances. After reading the complaints about LG I have decided to buy a new refrigerator NOT A LG. I hope an LG representative reads these complaints and reaches out to consumers -- the product looks great -- unfortunately does not last.
I have a LG washer, model WT1101CW, and it keeps getting unbalanced during the spin cycle. Extremely frustrating! The true balance software detector seems to be way too sensitive.
Have always personally preferred LG products for our home. We have always had the best with always choosing LG products for kitchen appliances. I like the refrigerators stainless steel, double doors, ice machine, freezer that pulls out on the bottom... Significant discount. There was a really good sale. But wish the whole thing had separate temperature controls rather than just the crisper drawers.
Our current problem is that the freezer stopped cooling and now the refrigerator isn’t able to keep a normal temperature. Of course, this happened shortly after we took an expensive Covid-style trip to the grocery store, so we are slowly losing hundreds of dollars in food. We suspect it’s the compressor. We’ve struggled with this fridge since we bought it. For the first year, we had issues with it making unusually loud noises. After hours and hours of service visits and calls, they replaced the compressor. Now it seems like the “new” compressor is failing after about 18 months. The size and physical design of the fridge is great, but not worth the headaches.
Bought the top-loading Inverter Direct Drive about 3 years ago. This is the biggest POS appliance we have ever owned! Washer gets unbalanced with almost every load - no matter how small or large. It takes a LONG time to wash any load. The display may say that its a 52-minute load. Thats ONLY if you monitor it getting unbalanced or shutting off completely. It mostly gets unbalanced at 34 minutes remaining and at 11 minutes remaining. Unless you use the bulky setting, you get next to NO water in the tub. And the very WORST PART is that it has RUINED countless shirts, pants, and shorts. It will put dark, short streaks (stains) ON YOUR CLOTHES THAT YOU CANNOT GET OUT. We have washed the Maxine-stained items up to six times using a wide variety of stain removers and NOTHING works. We wound up throwing items away after this machine stained them. Now we turn everything inside out. We hope to be moving soon and will GLADLY leave this machine behind. What a HORRIBLE appliance!!!
I have been married for 40 years with four children and countless loads of laundry. Most of my washers and dryers have been maytag and lasted 10-15 years with few if any repairs. This LG top loader is the worst machine I have ever bought. I purposefully did not buy a front loader because of problems with odors I had heard about. Well I guess a top loader can Smell really bad too. I dont understand how in 2016 we dont know how to make a washer that drains properly. This is a lemon and I will be selling it soon and buying a good ol Maytag. I just lost a lot of money on this one. They should recall all their machines until they figure out and fix the problems.
Its a fridge, it had the basic features I needed. I bought it because I trust the brand and needed an affordable fridge. As long as it was a reputable brand with the basic functions of a fridge, I was sold. It was the cheapest high quality fridge I could find. It did everything I needed it to do. Yes, it met my expectations. Actually exceeded my expectations. LG is a well known reputable brand. Its a great fridge.
Our refrigerator (model LFXC24726S) was bought at Best Buy Pacific Sales in 2/15. First there was a recall issue in the flat drawer and it kept freezing. It was fixed at no charge. Two weeks ago I went to get ice and all I got was water. My entire freezer was defrosted and the fridge part was getting increasingly warm. After calling the Geek Squad for repair and finding out that my extended warranty was applied to a Samsung fridge I had returned (did not fit properly in my kitchen) and never credited or transferred to the LG. So no warranty, even though it was not our fault. Now nearly 2 weeks later, I find out that the problem is a Freon leak and they cannot fix it. When the Geek Squad came to see about the reason for the failure of this very expensive fridge, he stated that he had 3 LGs have the same thing in the last few weeks. He noted that all the fridges were ALL approximately the same age (3 years or less). After going to corporate since I had gotten nowhere with anyone else at Best Buy, they are finally replacing it. Im hoping this wont happen again in the near future. Fridges are supposed to last more than 3 years.
LG front loading washer and dryer - I am very disappointed with these machines. As with everyone else who has written a review, my towels smell terrible. The door has to be left open and I must clean the washer frequently. I have been very dissatisfied with LG product.
LG washer that doesnt work. They acknowledge it but doesnt want to fix. They are not shame of selling kaput.
I’ve got 5 in my house. The oldest is 7 years old. They all work perfect. Well worth the money. I’ll never buy a different brand. Also rated very high thru many online outfits. The color, the the brightness and everything thing about them is great. My smallest is a 20 inch in my smallest bedroom. They go up in size from there. My 65 inch is the largest in my living room so I have a variety of sizes and she’s never once have I had to have them fixed. My newest one is 4 years old now almost 5. Thanks for letting me share my experience with anyone that reads this. Very satisfied customer.
Our LG LFXS24623 fridge experienced a compressor failure at 2 years after purchase. LG shows a 10 year warranty on the compressor however that is on the parts ONLY. I spent $400 for a Sears tech to install the free part. According to the tech he is replacing compressors on LG fridges constantly and there is a class action lawsuit against LG for compressor failures. In addition to the compressor issues, the ice maker is faulty and requires constant fidgeting to make it work. This is another known issue on LG products. The only thing worse than the design/build quality on LG appliances is their customer service. They are in some foreign country, they read off a script, are extremely unhelpful, will not pass you to a supervisor on request, etc. Life is definitely NOT GOOD with LG.
BUYER BEWARE. LG is the worst appliance brand to ever purchase. Please avoid getting anything from them, as I have had the worst experience with their customer service and major appliance I purchased from them. I purchased my refrigerator from hhgregg (which is now out of business, my luck) about 4 years ago. Maybe within a month of this huge investment, we started to have issues with the ice machine. We have had service call numerous times over the ice machine, which is quite shocking all for a simple standard feature on a refrigerator. Thank God we were still under warranty for the ice maker replacements, and even still after the repairs, we continued to have issues with the ice machine. After hhgregg went out of business, so did our warranty servicing. Then, about a month ago, the compressor went out. Thinking that LG would stand by their products and offer servicing, that was not the case. From reading past postings, they are completely aware of the problems with the compressor failing on this model. They had a technician come out who confirmed that the compressor went out and to fix would be $$$$ (costly), and offer a 90-day warranty. The technician recommended that it wasn’t worth it and to go with a completely different brand! I was in complete shock! However, I truly appreciated his honesty, since it confirms that LG dont stand behind their products. Such a huge waste of money and disappointment. So, unless you have money to throw away, stay away from LG refrigerators. MODEL: LFX31925ST.
Constantly is out of balance when it really isnt. Ive stood there watching it for half an hour. Fills up with water and drains trying to balance several times in a wash. Wastes water trying to balance. Have reloaded clothes to help but to no avail. 60-minute wash takes 4 hours, only if you constantly reset it. My washer is in garage, therefore cant always hear buzzer. Instead of getting 3 loads per day washed, maybe only 1.
LG company did not honor any recall for the control panel that was suppose to be under a recall because it was two years old. The LG representatives worked very hard to guarantee that I would not be getting any help either by getting them to repair the oven, send me the part, or provide me with technical support. There are not many parts that can go wrong but expensive if you guess wrong. The recall item was the control panel (board) but there are two in question. One for $60.00 the other for $170.00.
Purchased a WM2801HLA Direct Drive front load washer & matching gas dryer (new) in April of 2010. In the 7 years of ownership, the LG Washer has had 2 drain pump failures, 1 circuit control board failure, and a Spider Arm assembly failure (due to preventable corrosion). The 1st drain pump failed under extended 5-year warranty, as did the circuit control board. Everything else has failed on my dime and my time. The failed spider arm also took out the Balance Assembly Ring by tilting the tub, thus making contact with a fixed component and rubbing a hole in the liquid filled assembly ring - which drained the ring, rendering it noisy as a tank & useless. Our machine started making some warning sounds in the spring of 2017... Which I thought were the bearings. Being as the seal & bearings are a regular fail point, I ordered seals and bearings and pulled the machine apart. Turns out it was the Spider Arm assembly which had corroded to the point that only 1 of the 3 arms was still intact holding the drum to the support assembly. The bearing seal and bearings were still fine (although replacing the seal when you are in there is a MINIMUM to prevent future bearing failure).Just for good measure, the 2nd circuit board is now also behaving in a similar manner as the 1st one did on its way out (you cannot power up the machine without unplugging it - wait 30 seconds - and plugging it back in). This circuit board problem comes and goes, but it is not uncommon for the LG brand (do a YouTube search for LG washers failing to power up). The Spider Arm failure was due solely to using an unpainted aluminum part (spider arm), bolting it to a dissimilar metal (stainless steel drum) and exposing it to both electrolyte (soapy water, baking soda) and acids (vinegar, bleach, cleansing tablets, etc). Shiny piece of crap is how I would describe this LG washing machine. In the 15 years since Front Loaders became fashion statements, I am not aware of a single Front Load manufacturer that has corrected this spider arm fail point (its a guaranteed certainty it will fail with any sort of regular use) by either painting it in enamel, making it out of stainless steel, or abandoning the stainless steel tub for an enamel coated one. Its clear to me that this is a purpose-driven engineered failure of the washing machine. I was able to fix the machine myself (and new bearings/seals for good measure... As youre already in there) but most people cannot. Even so, it was $400 with bearings, seals, balance ring, spider arm, and enamel paint for the new spider arm to prevent corrosion thereof. When the spider arm fails, it is generally the death knell for the machine. To hire someone to fix is usually in the neighborhood of $800 (and several days to get parts/fix). Thats right around the price point of a new washer... And therein lies the motivation to junk a 6 to 8-year-old washer. Compare that to my 1996 Maytag Dependable care top load washer and gas dryer. 13 years of ZERO problems, and probably still going strong at my former house (left as part of the house sale). These front loaders could last just as long by making the terminal failures less frequent. I.E. Eliminate the Spider arm corrosion. Use higher grade bearings. Use a higher grade bearing seal. I will accept the circuit board failure, as its easy to replace. Although, there should be no need for that either if the circuits are rated for automotive use (high vibration).Ditto the drain pump failure (its downright delicate looking) but its $50 and I can change it rather quickly. Unfortunately, given that all the manufacturers are using price as the lowest common denominator, its unlikely that any single manufacturer will step up their game. If manufacturers build a better machine, theyll have to raise the price as turnover falls.A couple of takeaways Ive learned: Dont stack your washer/dryer - It makes them a nightmare to service (and these new machines demand servicing). Front load washers are crap. I believe you can eliminate the spider arm by going back to a top loader. Become handy - You need to be able to diagnose, disassemble, & repair these crappy products yourself to extend the life thereof.
Classic Kenmore basic washer... to fix it would cost around $200-300. F that, right? I took it to a drop off donation thing. Went and bought myself a nice fancy new washer. OH MY GOD, DO NOT BUY ANY NEW TYPE OF WASHER. NO NO NO. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. UGH plus it take 1:30 to do one load anyways. I drove it back to the store, got a refund... and drove back to the donation area, picked up my broken Kenmore and ordered the part online. Yup. Thug life.
Recently purchased a home with this stove in the kitchen. Within days I noticed how easy it is to bump the knob and turn on a burner! I warned my fiancé but he didn’t listen and set some paper plates on top of the stove and must’ve bumped a knob. We were getting ready to leave and happened to come back inside for something when I smelled smoke and we found the plates and their packaging in flames! Wondering when LG is going to acknowledge this problem?! Like others have said, I would feel bad even trying to give this thing away. It’s awful.
For four years I operated my LG Top-Loading Washer, Model #WT4801CW, using only HE detergent, managing the size of loads, etc. It worked well. However, over the years the bleach dispenser clogged, a two-inch crack developed in the top of the washers casing, and then in mid-cycle, the wash plate and cap popped off - bouncing around inside of the barrel and failing to agitate. Of course, LG offered the extended coverage (using another company, I later found). I could either spend close to $300 and receive two months of coverage or for almost double that amount, receive a full years coverage. I elected to buy the two months policy. After about a week, a tech from a local repair company came out, evaluated my machine, and sent them a report, including pictures of the damage. This seemed correct and the tech was personable. However, after another week, I called to find the status of my repair. They told me that I had to call LG. Of course, after extended conversations with a number of customer service reps, I was finally passed to LGs sub-contractor who actually administers this coverage. They, based upon the report of the visiting tech, determined that I had abused my LG Top-Loading Washing Machine and they had cancelled my policy. How, I asked, did they determine that I was as fault and abusive for the wash plate and cap popping off and bouncing around in the machine in mid-cycle?In short, nothing that I could say made any difference. They had made a partial refund of my coverage amount, and therefore the case was closed. So here I sit, fuming that there is nothing that I can do to refute this action and LG Customer Service refuses to take any action either because the coverage is with their sub-contractor. Im out $100, now branded as a WASHING MACHINE ABUSER, and no closer to a repaired machine than before. I highly recommend that you refuse any extended coverage based upon my experience. Otherwise, I TOLD YOU SO. Let the buyer be aware.
We purchased our first LG Dishwasher in September of 2018. Within a few months it quit working. Had a repair company come out and replace the control panel. The repairman told us that these Dishwashers are known for bad control panels, because they get wet... What? Its a Dishwasher, of course it gets wet. Here we are again less than 2 years old and wont power on again, obviously another control panel. We are out of warranty and out of luck! Horrible.
We purchased all LG appliances in 2012, I had to replace the microwave in 2015 and again in 2018, they just stopped working. This last one I had stopped working 1/2 thru cooking, the turntable stopped turning and it would not heat. 3 microwaves since 2012... These are not made to last, its sad, I liked it when it was working, I would not purchase this brand again... And when I complained to LG all I got told was, Sorry. Its not under warranty. JUNK.
I bought the high capacity washer and dryer in September 2018 for around $2000. They are pieces of crap. They dont wash your clothes good. Literally some places havent even been touched by water. The dryer takes more than 1 cycle to dry. Totally useless. You call LG and theyll tell you that you arent washing clothes properly. I want my freaking money back!!!
We bought 27.6 cu ft french door refrigerator in June of 2013. LG should be disappointed at the quality of workmanship. The compressor on our unit just failed, and it will cost us hundreds of dollars to replace. The kicker is not the cost of the repair, or the poorly made unit we spent thousands of dollars on, it is the time we have been without a refrigerator, and all of the stuff we have to throw away and replace. LG set up a preferred vendor last Friday, it is now Tuesday, to come look at it. We are still without a refrigerator, and LG continues to tack on additional charges to fix their poorly made product that is under warranty. The inconvenience on a family of 4 with 2 small children heavily outweighs the damage to the pocket book.
2.5 years and the touch panel dies a slow death. First the #7 button stops, then the #0, and so on. This is our second LG appliance to fail in short time. My first microwave was a Sears and lasted some 15 years, as did my mothers, also a Sears product. Ill NEVER buy another LG product again. Breville will be our next buy.
My LG stove worked for about 3 and a half years. Then began shutting off and not coming back on. Finally convinced 2 different repairmen to come, but they didnt fix it. Most repairmen near me wont work on LG. Parts hard to get and expensive. It wont come on now at all. Have to buy a new stove and this one is less than 4 years old!
Purchased model LDE3035SB on 10/27/14. On around the 23rd of Feb (2015) I decided to do the easy clean on my upper oven (this is a double oven range) since it wast that dirty to require the self clean cycle. When it finished I had to wipe the bottom out because there was still water in the bottom. I was about to put the rack back in when I noticed something that I thought was food in the back right corner. I tried to hand clean but it would not clean. I rubbed my fingers over and felt that about a half dollar size section of the enamel was gone. Called LG and they said they would send a repair person out at our expense. We had not used this oven much because we had been gone over all the holidays and could not do much cooking in Jan. because we were having it remodeled and only did toast or baked potatoes or something simple. When the repair guy came out he told me I was pushing the rack back too far and said that LG would not cover anything like this because it was considered cosmetic. We asked if it could be repaired and he said no. We contacted LG and were told they would not do anything about it but for us not to use the any of the self cleaning cycles. If this is true and the blue enamel is only cosmetic, then why cant we use the cleaning cycles. We even went to Lowes to see if they could get something done.... they were told the same thing. Funny thing I was recently told by 2 different appliance repairmen do you know what LG really means when I was asking about my range.... It stands for Lousy Goods. It is only a little over 4 months old and I wont be able to use my self clean. When it gets to filthy, we will toss it and a new rage but not a LG. $1,300 down the drain.
My LG microwave is not working and failing every time. The service people accepted that there is some manufacturing defect but not replacing. They have charged more than Rs. 2000 at different visits but still not working.
We bought this LG WM3670MWA washer and paired dryer at Nebraska Furniture Mart in in June 30,2018. The Silk screened Cycle Name lettering is now dissolving and even rubbing off the washer. LG says its COSMETIC damage because something other than warm water and a damp cloth was used to clean the washer. We use Shout as a pre-wash and have for the last 15+ years. Our 13 year old Samsung front loaders never had any issues with lettering rub off. I sprayed Shout on a 9 year old silk screened plastic cup and let it sit for a week, adding Shout each day, and its still perfect. Never buy another LG Product. NFMs $270.00 extra warranty was worthless for this as they say if LG says its cosmetic, theres no reason to even come look at it. They only cover mechanical breakdown. Not happy with performance either. Also, Turbo-Wash times are reasonable but will only take 3 items (?).
Made the mistake of purchasing a LG microwave as a Christmas gift. They left the mounting templates out of the box. I called first on 12/26/16 to get them sent out to me. Was supposed to arrive in 7-10 days. Doesnt show up. Call again 1/12/17. Same thing - never shows up. Call back again 2/12/17 - still nothing. Call back again 3/1/17 and was told a simple paper wall template is on back order till 3/17/17. They are a JOKE! If I attempt to install without the templates and mismeasure... Its my cabinets with unnecessary holes. PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT CANNOT SPEAK ENGLISH!
RUST! Rust around bleach tray, lid lock, cabinet top edge, top at every penetration, and leaking, brown rust water from the lid hinges, then along back edge of lid. Rust began appearing less than three years after purchase but that is only when we noticed it erupting on outer surface. Opening the lid shows that it was probably rusting after first use. Besides all the cabinet parts and pieces rusting, it appears that most, if not all the internal screws, nuts, and washer holding it together are also severely rusted and especially concerning, the arms that the tub hang on are well rusted and three of four mounting washers for these arms (they support the wash tub, liner, and motor) are so severely rusted that I expect the supports to fail any day. It looked pretty when new and it was expensive but now, in less than three years, its junk! A warning to everyone to beware of ALL LG appliances.
Bought a LG dishwasher 3 years ago and it needs to already be replaced. I am very disappointed that this unit went bad so quickly especially since previous dishwasher lasted longer than this LG unit. Hope if we decide to purchase another one at Home Depot we have better luck. Otherwise we will go a different direction. Thanks.
I purchased a top load LG washing machine. My clothes dont come clean. I end up washing them two or three times. Im not talking about seriously soiled clothing, just everyday soil for which Ive never had issues with other washing machine Ive owned. For the amount of money I spent on this machine, youd think it would work better. As a single grandmother that is supporting an adult child and two grandchildren, I cant afford to replace it or it would be out of here. Stuck.
We recently went through 4 months of renovations. What a nightmare and the contractor is not coming back to do the final touchups. We had our kitchen completely gutted and when it came to appliances we purchased and LG range and fridge. Both are working just fine. It takes a bit of getting used to when going from appliances from the 70s and 80s to new. We have had no problems with the fridge but then we have only been using it for a couple of months. The stove works fine. I thought getting a new stove would mean that I would wait a shorter time for a pot of water to boil but no. We are having a problem with the smell of gas every time we use the range. Whether it be the oven or burners, we smell gas. There is conflicting information on the internet as to whether this is normal. We shouldnt be able to smell gas in other rooms other than the kitchen but we do when we use the range. The other issue which is major is the knobs for turning on the burners. This is a complete safety hazard and how this design passed any safety inspections before selling to the public is beyond me. I have singed my long hair twice, once reaching into a cupboard near the stove and another cleaning by the stove just because I barely leaned against the range. The knobs turn by barely brushing up against them and instantly the burner is on before you can get out of the way. If my children were still small I would not keep this stove. It is a accident just waiting to happen. I find this design terribly irresponsible for a company to have and this range should be recalled. I also find the venting of the oven across the cook top not the best design also. When I use the oven and the burners at the same time too much heat is being created and at one time our range hood fan went off on its own and didnt shut off until the heat had dissipated. At the same time the oven vent causes the pots on the stove to heat up even more than from being on the burners and the handles can not be handled unless using a pot holder. It bakes well. We find we use the convection more because on bake food isnt crisping up as much as we would like. I guess thats the difference between electric heat and gas. Companies need to stand by their products better. Our old fridge of 25 years is still going on strong and has been relegated to the car port as an overflow fridge. I am certain that these new appliances of today would never last that long. If the new LG fridge goes we might have to bring the old one back inside. Oh and our 2 year old Samsung T.V. just completely died. What quality!!!
I bought a washer/dryer from LG and after 6 months dryer smells like the clothes are burning and does not dry clothes. I called LG and they have the date I purchased the dryer which was within a year but because I could not locate receipt they would not help me. My new house could have started on fire. They were rude, kept putting me on hold and refused to help me. I have been running to the laundromat and now have to get a new dryer. Will Never buy anything LG. I was treated horribly.
Have had this fridge just hit 3 years. Stopped cooling. Thought the linear compressor was going to be more efficient. Called and they said they would set us up for service. The service company will not be here for 3 weeks. Try to run a house with no refrigerator for 3 weeks. Did notice the company has an ad to hire people in our area. If I hadnt paid so much for this thing I would just get another refrigerator. Sure hope the matching double oven range holds up better.
I have an LG top loader WT5270CW. Not having other review problems like leaking or vibration BUT washed clothes, have a heavy white residue visible on black or dark clothes. Not sure about lighter clothes. Residue is probably there too but not as noticeable. Recommendations say wash dark clothes in cold water but I have tried everything. Warm, adding additional rinse, Woolite for darks detergent. Very frustrating.
We bought our LG french door refrigerator from Best Buy fall of 2016 to be installed in our new home in 2017 spring. Almost 1 year to the date of moving into the house we had our first complete meltdown. All of the food was defrosted and water was all over the floor. We called LG and a technician was sent out days later. They replaced the compressor and it worked for a few months. Then it happened again. We called the same technician and they fixed it again. Now its noisy and worked until about a year after the first fix. Then it defrosted. Again same situation. This time it was 9 days before the technician arrived.By then it had spontaneously started working again so she refused to do anything. We paid over $100 for this. Now 1 month later its done again. We were told this is how its designed to work and there is nothing they can do. If this is true no one should ever buy LG. They design to cost you hundreds of dollars and dont back up their appliances. Cant wait to see how long it takes to get a technician and what they will do or not do this time. Each time we seem to have to pay more money plus we never seem to qualify for the supposed $200 in food recompense.
One and done is my motto now when it comes to LG appliances/electronics. This was the first and only time I will ever purchase ANYTHING from this manufacturer. We purchased an LG kitchen suite consisting of a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. All are on the fritz. Over half of the buttons on the microwave do not work which almost makes it unusable; the 1, 2, 3, and more. The vent, power, light and even more. The largest burner on the stove is gone and the refrigerator makes an odd noise (not the icemaker). Weve had the appliances for only about 5 years so no more LG for me. Its just outside the warranty - how convenient for them.
We bought our LG refrigerator and stove. It has a stainless steel kind of finish on it. We have had several stainless steel stoves and refrigerators. None of them had a bad cheap finish as this new one. What kind of horrible finish is this? When we get a glass of water and some water leaks down on the finish, you can see it and it doesnt come off. We have tried all sorts of products made for stainless finishes. Nothing seems to work. If you have a nice kitchen and you want some appliances that look good and clean, never buy one that has this finish. It makes our kitchen look unkept. The appliance is good except for the finish. And I see this and am saddened that they make a good product, and put a cheap finish on the appliance. I have extended warranty, but the warranty doesnt cover a bad finish.
My 5-month-old LG washer model -WT7300CW has gone dead 2 times and I am without a working washer in April21 now for the third week. This is a lemon, dont buy this model. And LG support customer support is so bad I reached support on 4/10/21 to escalate the issue of a machine not working and to talk to a supervisor, and finally spoke with them on 4/22/21, and their policy of machine going bad three times before they call it lemon is, unbelievable!
The motherboard on our 3-door French door style LG - LFX25960ST heated up, melted the plastic housing, and almost started a fire. Thank goodness I was home when it happened. The repairman said the he has had numerous complaints about the LG, and that this should not have happened. I am going to try to get LG to assume some responsibility, but after seeing the comments below I am not optimistic.
We purchased a complete new set of appliances (including this LG electric range) in September 2011 at Best Buy. During the late summer/early fall of 2013 we began to experience difficulty turning the stove top burners off. This progressively got worse and shortly thereafter we started to wake up in the morning to a glowing red burner on high; so it also turns “on” by itself. Since then (approx. 6 months ago) I regulate our LG electric range by turning off the “range” breaker in our house circuit panel. This is really inconvenient. I quickly looked online to see if others experienced this problem and soon became aware of recall #13-031 initiated on November 8th, 2012. I then called LG and explained the issues; they transferred me to the recall department who initially said “sorry, your range is outside of our recall parameters; it’s too new”. I explained that I have the identical make, model, symptom, and purchase location as what recall #13-031 states. They didn’t care. I then informed LG that I also have three young daughters and I am afraid I will forget to turn the household circuit breaker off and one of them may get burned or our house could burn down one night. Again this didnt matter.During this same call the lady I was speaking with asked if we still owned our LG top load washer. I said “yes, we love it”. She said that unit has a recall and they would send an authorized tech out to repair it. This occurred in the late October/early November time frame and the washer was never the same, ruined. They tried several more times then finally agreed to replace it. We went without a washer for two months and commuted to and from the laundry mat almost daily while we waited. They finally exchanged it with a new model which runs great. During this wait I kept on calling LG customer service not only asking where our replacement washer was, but also updating them on our LG electric range. One day in December I finally was able to talk to a sympathetic recall rep who said “your range is included in the recall; it’s deep in our notes”. He said he would arrange the recall repair, finally! A few days later the local LG authorized repair center called and said they could not find our unit listed or a recall number which they needed to obtain the parts. I called LG again, spoke to a lady, and she could not validate my previous call. Regardless she heard me out and said “we will take care of this under good will”. The LG authorized service center came out in early December to inspect it, verified the problem and ordered the parts. They returned on December 17th, 2013 and installed the new parts and as soon as we activated the breaker the burners lit up red on high; once again the recall made our appliance worse. I stood right next to the tech when he called the LG tech line on speakerphone. They informed him not to touch it anymore; he has done all he can do. They will review it for replacement. Again, this occurred on 12-17-2013. I was emailed a link and submitted my proof or purchase. Then a few weeks later on 1-10-2014 I was contacted by an RA coordinator, “**”. She said LG would issue a refund but first needed to pick up our range, truck it to Minneapolis, package it, right it to Illinois, inspect it and then issue payment. She said this process would take “2 to 3 weeks” which after our recent washer experience I really have to question. I asked what we should do for 2-3 weeks without a range? She said we could front the costs of a new range and if we don’t have the money then perhaps we could explore financing it at zero percent interest then pay it off when the check arrives… I then asked what if LG repairs our range and ships it back or rejects the claim? Dead silence… I politely said this would not work for us. We have a very dangerous LG range and we want it repaired or replaced just as LG did with our washer a few months ago. We cannot afford to be without a range for 2-3 weeks nor can we afford to purchase another new range and wait for unknown results. LG denied this request three times (last conversation on 3-18-14) stating because our LG electric range is not part of the recall. So here we sit waiting, not sure this above experience is aligned with the LG Mission Statement.
Purchased a home with an LG fridge in it. We have had LG out 5-6 times in the last 13 months. The fridge continues to malfunction, and we have lost hundreds of dollars in spoiled food multiple times. Memorial Day weekend was the 4th. They are out again today, would like to refund or replace the fridge but cannot do so without a purchase receipt. The service technicians have been great, but we do not have the receipt and they cannot submit for reimbursement. Any suggestions here would be appreciated.
Customer service for LG is not helpful and gives you the runaround. Most of the appliance repair companies I have contacted will not even work on LG. This refrigerator (Model # LFXS29766S) stopped working in just over a year just when the warranty ran out. Purchased from Home Depot and they are no help either. I have read so many negative reviews since it stopped working. Wish I had seen them before I purchased it.
I unfortunately purchased an LG brand front load washer and dryer from Home Depot. I wish I would have done some research first because it would have saved me a lot of problems. The washer is very high maintenance in which you have to drain it and clean out the trap. At least once a month, there are cleaning pouches that Tide makes that you have to use to clean out the washer. It seems no matter how often I use the pouches and drain it, my clothes have a musty smell. One of my biggest complaints is that I can not wash a lot of my blankets and comforters because they get too heavy and off balance the drum no matter if I try repositioning them.
LG Washing machine model #wm4270hwa. Purchased this unit from Best Buy on 2-19-15. Ran flawlessly for 8 months, then it started to sound like a jet engine. Called LG on 1-5-16 and after transmitting tones to a tech over the phone he informed me that I needed to run the tub clean cycle. Ran the tub clean and no help. Called back and was informed that the unit was out of warranty. Spoke to two separate supervisors to no avail. LG will not help, Best Buy will not help. I called a local appliance repair, $180.00 to walk in. Repairman took a look and told me it was a catastrophic failure. Bearings, tub, stator, tub seals etc. were bad. So here I am, stuck with a thousand dollar washing machine that will cost as much if not more than I paid to repair. Will never buy anything from LG, also, I will tell my story to everyone! Please share.
I received this machine (LG washing machine WM3670HA) in January of 2017, in January of 2018 there was a problem with the motor that drains the machine, the machine would no longer work. I contacted the company, their customer support people really cannot help you and you go in circles with them. Appliance service companies do not want to do LG warranty work. It is February and I still have not had my machine serviced. I have never had a washing machine not work, especially a very expensive machine that I have had for just under a year. I have usually had Kenmore machines in the past and they have worked for many a year. I should not have bought a different brand and definitely should not have bought an LG.
Received letter in May 2013 about recall of LG washer that I purchased about 18 months previously. Called the number listed and set up appointment for replacement of motherboard. That is when the problems started. There were numerous problems and it involved many calls to the company. Six months and eight technician visits later I finally got through to a company supervisor who agreed to replace the recalled machine. Delivered on November 27th, 2014. The very first time I used it the machine shut down completely while full of water. Put cycle on drain and spin and it solved that problem. In the following four months there have been a number of other problems including very low water fill, even for smaller loads. Extremely frustrating because I have to keep pressing the button for extra water and it only puts in a small amount. After the fourth press, it fills to the very top which is too much water. There is no happy medium. Also, there is a button for warm water but it always fills with cold water. As with all the other complaints I have read, there is also a balance problem with this machine. I have placed several calls to the supervisor I spoke with in November but they have been ignored. The machine that I had before the LG was a Maytag and I used it hard (we were a family of three children and three adults) and it went strong for 23 years. The only replacement on it was a belt. If my calls to the company are not returned, I intend to fill out a complaint with the BBB.
The dryer scorched 3 loads of laundry and smoked. I could not get anyone to answer the phones. I called and called and at times let the phone ring 5 minutes. Then, it would be busy for an hour at the time… What kind of scam are they pulling at LG?
The refrigerators stainless exterior always has fingerprints. Freezer section is one drawer slide out with 2 interior sections so have to open entire thing when need one item. Interior door partitions fine, but shelving difficult to hold taller items. However, I have some issues these days with LG quality. Front load washer defunct after only several years. Got rid of LG microwave (broken handle) & stove & replaced with Samsung.
Bought our LG French door refrigerator Sept 2017, July of 2018 our fridge stopped working. Customer service is horrible. With every call we hear that we will get an email in 3 to 5 days and that there is no one to service it in this area so it will take longer for someone to come out. We never receive the emails and have put out 3 calls to them each time we are told we are on the list. After the second week of waiting, our fridge has started cooling again and we are unsure what to make if it. Nervous to use it since we are unsure if it will stop working again and we will be out more food items. With a fridge less than 1 year old that we are still paying for we are truly frustrated! It has now been 3 weeks of waiting and still nothing. Our fridge is under the 1 year warranty but what good does that do if nobody comes to fix it! Buyer beware!
My LG 8.5 front loader machine is noisy. Bangs and rattles when spins at 1400. Revs. Clothes are tangled when washing. It was ok for two weeks then it started rattling. Would not recommend this washer.
We purchased an LG French Door LFXS29626B refrigerator 1 1/2 year’s ago and it stopped working about three weeks ago. All the food In the bottom freezer dethawed and no ice is disowning from the door. I have called LG numerous times and had their tech out three times. He said it was the compressor and ordered the part, came back five days later installed another part (apparently just because the part came in what appeared to be a new box did not mean it was a new part). It still doesnt work. Meanwhile we’ve been living out of coolers and LG gives excuse after excuse when I ask to speak to a supervisor. Had I known about the class action suits that have been brought against this company I would not have bought this piece of junk. As for “customer service” LG would does not know what that is or care to provide it. This has truly been a horrendous experience and they should be held accountable.
Purchased the complete LG black stainless kitchen set up for our newly constructed home. Appliances were purchased at Sears and delivered by them to our new home. Microwave was badly damaged off the truck so it was reordered (Sears fault). Dishwasher, Refrigerator, and Double oven were not damaged as we examined the boxes for exterior crushing or creases. The dishwasher leaked like a sieve the first time we used it!! My husband checked to make sure all hoses were attached properly and all fittings were tight. We could not use the dishwasher at all as it leaked so badly it was ruining our new flooring and leaking into our basement.I took a video as we pulled out the unit and ran it and it was obvious that the leak was coming from the back of the unit. LG repair came over and determined that it was damaged at delivery! I still had the box. No damage to the unit during delivery. LG refused after months and months and pic after pic sent to their US offices and their South Korean offices. This unit was dropped and creased across the back during manufacturing and they kept telling me that it was Sears fault. I could not, in good conscience, blame Sears as I had personally examined the box when it arrived at our home. After 10 mos. of arguing with LG, I went to the local Sears store where we had purchased not just the 4 LG appliances, but a beer fridge, for the basement and a freezer for the basement as well totaling more than $11,000 in one purchase. We had also purchased appliances from them in the past. The new store manager, upon hearing my story from the saleswoman from whom we purchased our appliance, made it right. I told him that I never relented on the story that it was not Sears fault but a manufacturers defect. He appreciated my honesty with LG and replaced the dishwasher.Moving on now to the microwave. After finally receiving the new microwave 3 months after the other appliances were delivered. It was only 5 mos. before the digital display started acting wacky. Then the microwave worked intermittently. Again, I called LG. They assured me that they do not have manufacturing defects as their quality control is above reproach. I said, Great sent me a repairman as it is under warranty. Scott, from LG, ordered a new door which contained all the inner workings of the unit but it was the wrong color. He reordered, came by and replaced it only to find it didnt work either as a week later it was acting like the door he just replaced. Finally Scott was able to get the right door and it works. That process took 2 months.Just before Thanksgiving, 2017, we noticed just under the handle of our new refrigerator, the paint was peeling off of the black stainless finish. It is not an area of the door that we touch regularly or even at all except to wipe down. After the holiday, I sucked it up and called LG once again. LG in South Korea told us the warranty was up on the refrigerator and there was nothing they could do. I told her to take a look at the history on our previous appliance issues and that it may be time for us to possibly file suit with the company as now its 3 out of 4 of their garbage products that have caused us no end of grief and that Sears has documentation and I have pictures and other paperwork accumulated over the year from hell since we made the purchase of their products. She put me on hold!Scott came into our lives once again and ordered a new door and installed as we decorated our Christmas tree! I thanked him and told him that our oven would probably go afoul soon and we may see him again. He answered questions I had about the knobs on the front of our LG stove that when bumped, turn on without you knowing and have emitted gas. My worry is that I will bump a knob and be on my way out rather than the 3 times it happened while we were home and smelled the gas fumes. Scott said there was some kind of kit we could get to prevent the problem. Why didnt LG tell us that at some point. I will order it as soon as I finish this post to assure the safety of our home and family. Please do not purchase appliances from LG! They are dishonest in their dealings and lied to us over and over and I have it documented. Some of their local repair affiliates are hand in hand with them and lie for them without doing their work. They walk in and determine it was someone elses fault and tell you to go after them. Sears in North Olmsted, OH made the situation with the dishwasher they sold us right. I cannot thank them enough. Sears has a contract with LG and other manufacturers that says that Sears repair may not touch LG products that are under warranty. They are not allowed to look at your appliance if it is under LGs warranty or the warranty becomes null and void. The consumer is at the mercy of the manufacturer as we were and the manufacturer, LG, is dishonest in their dealings.
We bought an LG Refrigerator LFX31925ST/05 about 1 1/2 years ago for about $2300 and it has been a nightmare. A few weeks after we bought it we started having problems with the ice maker/dispenser. The ice would thaw then freeze in the storage compartment in the door. So ice would not come out the dispenser. We continued to have the problem so had an LG recommended repairman come try to fix it. The first repair did not work. A few calls later and a different repairman and we find out there is a class action lawsuit for the ice maker and we eventually got it replaced. Now, at the age of 1-1/2 years we had the air circulating fan go out. Error code ER rf. Not covered under the 1-yr. warranty. It took the LG recommended repair man 10 days to replace the motor since it was on back order. We agreed to pay him once we were sure it was working. He left angrily. A half hour after he left, the error code was up again and the fan was not running! After we called and complained, the repair man figured it must be the circuit board. A week later, with a refrigerator that is warm on top and freezes on the bottom, we still have not yet had the board replaced. Maybe we can wait for another class action lawsuit. LG refuses to extend common courtesy and replace the parts without charge. We are looking at about $350 of labor and parts for a fridge that is 1 1/2 years old! On top of that, the stainless steel scratches very easily so be careful. Worst appliance Ive ever purchased!
My dryer has not worked properly since I got it. Nothing is ever dry after the first try, regardless of the option I choose. I contacted LG numerous times, all to no avail. Now, I babysit my dryer and keep turning it on until my load is dry. Ridiculous.
This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. My fridge is 3 years old and the compressor had already failed. This is a common issue (that affects almost all units) that LG and technicians have accepted responsibly for. However what they fail to tell you is that after spending $2500+ on a new fridge, they will not offer assistance. Upon calling customer service, they even went as far as lying to me, by telling me that the product only had a 1 year warranty. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON A MORE RELIABLE Product that will last you more than the years.
After two months the temp control button cracked. The machine will not work at all. I called consumer services. They cannot find a service repair person to look at my dryer. The end? I paid $1200 for a dryer that breaks after two months with no concern from LG.
Africa is known for power problem. LG microwave works well to solve that problem. Even with a very low voltage. Its still give higher power output efficiency. Its takes very small time, easy to operate and it works automatically. This have been our Messiah. Best than all. Really appreciate the world of LG.
Bought an LG French door refrigerator in June of 2016 and by May 2019 the refrigerator stopped keeping cool or frozen. Was never warned about the huge problems that the linear compressors have and that LG refrigerators only lasting 36 months. After spending 1400.00 and having it last not even 3 yrs is ridiculous!!! Nobody would even come to fix it because it would cost more than its worth we were told and would continue to be defective. So out of alot of money with bad LG product and had to purchase new one but never again will buy LG.... went with GE....
Black fridge with ice machine and so spacious. I love it so very much. Like the brand is everything and so much more. LG is a life changer for many people. Best appliance company everywhere. Who knew you could love a brand so much. It never fails or disappoints. Little space would be a deal breaker for me. But all in all I love their products. Overall expectations were met.
DID not show fingerprints - during a brown out of our electric service in a storm this unit continued to run. I never lost any food while all my neighbors lost hundreds of dollars of refrigerated and frozen food. Great unit and wish I had moved it with me when I left NJ.
We purchased LG microwave oven that failed approximately 4 months into the warranty period. The warranty reads that “LG will, at it’s option, will repair or replace the Product“. LG’s policy apparently is not to do either of these things for countertop microwaves. They refused to repair or replace the unit, but suggested that we purchase another unit. They did in fact refund the original price of the unit, but now the unit could only be purchased for $30.00 more. As the request of a customer service agent we submitted the new receipt indicating that a price adjustment would be given. Long story short, not only did we have to do the leg work and go out and find another unit, we have had to absorb the difference in the price. DO NOT BELIEVE THE WARRANTY! Had we known that we couldn’t trust the warranty and the customer service agent, we would have chosen another brand of microwave. Although we have purchased other LG appliances (TVs, dishwashers etc) we will not make that mistake again!
I purchased the stackable washer and dryer 2/2014. Never again. I have had the technicians here because the dryer does not dry. I was told that the clothes are dry according to foreign standards, but In the US we want the clothes dry. At 61 years old I thought I heard it all but to my surprise that was the silliest ever. If I did not want to dry clothes then I would not have bought a dryer. The clothes take about 90 minutes to dry, not very energy efficient. Also, the machines are not made for 50 tall people. I use a step stool to start and empty the dryer. This machine was a very costly mistake. I asked Lowes to pro-rate the machines because I only had them since February but they said no. They have a 30-day return policy. I wish I never purchased these machines. I will only buy American if possible.
This is the absolute worst washing machine ever!!! It never gets through a cycle without numerous error messages. The place we bought it refused to take it back within a week of purchasing it. The LG repair man came and it was no better. It is supposed to be high efficiency. Sometimes a cycle will last for hours with all the error messages and then it resets the timer and goes back to earlier in the cycle. I HATE this machine and it should be taken off the market.
I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased the LG refrigerator my big mistake. We purchased the French door refrigerator on 12/2012. Didnt expect it to last only 4 yrs. Like other reviewers the compressors and motherboards have been replaced not even two months ago and already failing. We were lied to and given the runaround about getting the parts. Living out of an ice chest for 4 wks and replenishing the ice didnt come cheap. They really need some overhaul in the customer service dept as they must go to liars training. Now I see what a piece of junk LG is. I wish somebody would get a class action lawsuit against them. We were supposed to get an email receipt. Still waiting. Never again would I purchase LG.
This brand is well known all over the world and its reliable, safe and will last a long time. It has an amazing and modern design and everyone would be happy to have such product at home. It has everything I was looking for in a refrigerator and the price was within my budget. The color matches my other appliances and its easy to clean. I like the water filter that comes with it because makes so convenient and easy for my entire family to drink clean and purified water. I only wished it was more affordable. Everything else about it makes me happy and Im so glad I selected this specific model and brand. I have no regrets. This brand has met my expectations and I would recommend it to all of my friends and family members.
Lack of an agitator may or may not be the cause, but this device twists items deposited into a ball and finishes with a big question as to what, if any, items were thoroughly cleaned. The initial jiggling of items in such small water appears to be a designers mental excursion with little reality involved. The standard setting muddles items in a VERY LOW LEVEL of highly-concentrated dirty water due to the water-saver nature of the device. Whatever happened to good cleaning? OR is water so expensive that we should settle for less-clean clothing. Weve owned washers and dryers for 54 years and have never experienced any worth these words. Enough said?
Very nice fridge, all the looks and gadgets that we (my wife) wanted. But after 3 years the compressor died and LG was a nightmare to deal with. It took ~5 months of tech visits after it completely died but they never fixed it 100%. Despite the 10 year warranty, they just said sorry and offered me to either (1) deal with it or (2) take a check for half the price I paid for it 3 years earlier and void the remaining warranty. So overall were looking for a new fridge now. My advice is DO NOT buy this fridge unless you also are buying a 5+ year warranty through an independent company (big box store) who will back it up, because LG will not.
Ive had my LG washer for just under two years, and its been nothing but trouble. Water constantly leaks from underneath the machine. I do NOT put much detergent in, but the machine will constantly leave my clothes very wet - so much that I will have to re-run the cycle and drain the machine at every 5th load or so. Finding a repairman is next to impossible.
I purchased this LG Top Loader washer in October 2010 along with the extended service agreement. From the beginning I had nothing but problems, I got the UE code often, it would run the rinse cycle over and over, clothes ended up in a knot, etc. The service company checked it, said the legs needed balancing and it was fine, NOT FINE! Finally the recall happened and after fixing it, everything was WORSE. Every load was UE, the timer wouldnt advance, all the issues I have read about here. The service agreement sent someone out who was here 1 minute and said this was an LG issue and they would call me back. No call back, numerous calls to LG who opened a case at my insistence at a replacement. LG said they would get back with me in 7 to 10 days, which didnt happen. Set up another appointment with service contract, took the morning off work, and guess what a NO SHOW!!! I suggest everyone with these problems call Consumer Affairs (the government agency listed on our recall letters), I lodged a complaint there and was seriously considering joining one of the class action lawsuits about this fiasco! Service company said I had to have one more service call before they would consider the machine a LEMON, so I insisted it NOT be a third party vendor, but an actual LG repair person. This person called me to let me know when he would be here, had a LG shirt on, and after one minute said the recall fixer only did half the job, not to worry he could fix it. He said some of the vendors LG hired to do the recalls only replaced the software and then didnt do the proper programming. He proceeded to replace the rotors, the motor and finished programming the software. It did work! Not perfect as my clothes are more wet than I would like, so I have to run an extra spin cycle sometimes, but I am not getting the UE error codes, and able to use spin only cycle without water dumping in! He said dont use the cotton/normal setting, use casual and if washing towels wash 4, not only 2, and better to do bigger loads than small. The machine has a hard time sensing light small loads. I still would never purchase an LG large appliance again, or certainly this big fancy machine if I knew small light loads would be an issue, and certainly will not purchase an extended service agreement! So, moral of the story... INSIST on an actual LG repair person, even when dealing with the extended service company.
My Mom purchased an LG freezer on the bottom refrigerator/freezer from Best Buy. This POC has been trouble since month 1 - she has had the unit for 6 plus years and periodically has a tech come out at her expense to blow dry the freezer to un-ice it and get the motor to start running again. Best Buy wont stand behind it and neither will LG... I will never never never never buy an LG anything ever again... Why has no one taken legal action against them?
We purchased an LG fridge and stove from Home Depot on January 3, 2014. We were given a date for delivery of Jan 24, 2014. So my husband takes the day off work to await the delivery. At 9:30 am we received a call from Home Depot asking if we had received a call from LG with our delivery time? We answered, no, we had not, and Home Depot staff said he would call LG to see when it was coming. Several hours later with no return call from anyone I called Home Depot (2:30 pm), only to be told that our products were out of stock and would now not be delivered until Feb 4, 2014. So upset over taking a day off and not even the smallest of respect for LG to call and inform us that our products were not coming, we wait until the next date. For Feb 4th comes and again my husband takes the day off work to await the delivery (surely if it was not coming today LG would have called to inform us). By 11 am we heard nothing so I placed a call to LG myself. It was at this time I was given the run around. I asked her if it was customary for them to not call their clients to inform them that their delivery is not coming. She told me it was Home Depots responsibility (I spoke with Home Depot and the told me it was their responsibility). I explained that I felt that was horrible customer service to not provide common courtesy. I let her know that it cost us money to stay at home for the 2 days and they couldnt pick up the phone. The customer services lady could not help me and when I asked to speak to a manager the manager would not take my call and instead gave me the number to call the delivery department. It was then I spoke with them and was told that it wasnt coming today either and had no idea when it was coming. Eventually we found out another delivery date of Feb 12. I wonder if I will ever get the items I paid for??
The LG washer/steam (model Wm2699HNM) broke after 5 years. I called LG and the girl in India wanted to troubleshoot the problem over the phone before referring me to a repairman. I did troubleshoot with her to no avail and then she gave me the number of a repairman. The repairman came out and thought it was the motor. He opened it up to repair it and found that the drum had become detached from the spinner. He said he had never seen this happen on an LG washer. I sent LG an email and didnt receive a response. Then, I called them the next day. They stated that the drum had a lifetime warranty and the motor had a 10-year warranty, but there was nothing they could do for me for this problem. I spoke to an executive manager for the problem and he stated he was sorry that he couldnt help me since my washer was over a year old!
We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors in 2011. Four years in - we had trouble with the food thawing in the freezer and ice maker stopped working. A repairman through LG came out and did a repair and fixed it. As soon as the warranty was up (Jan 2016) it happened again. We were given a choice - pay $294.50 for a 1x visit and 60 days coverage of the same issue or $444.05 for 1 year warranty for any problem.Since we figured this was a big problem, we went with the $444. The repairman came again and flushed the system - started working again. 5 months later the same thing happened - he replaced the compressor. Still under warranty. Warranty expired in July 2017 - Oct 2017 the same thing happened. LG will not do anything about it because its not under warranty even though its the same problem from the beginning. Now Im faced with a non working refrigerator and a decision of paying a huge amount to get it fixed or moving on from a 6 year old refrigerator. Never will buy LG again.
Washer is 2 yrs old. Electronics are messed up. It waste a lot of water. Piece of junk. Dryer is 2 yrs old. The electronics are starting to go junk. Wasted over 1000.00. Buy the old time Kenmore washers and dryers. You should get 15 to 20 yrs out of them.
First Im 5 ft 2 in, I need a stepladder to reach my close in bottom of washer, pain in the butt, then only 4 yrs old, a valve stuck on filling my washer to overflowing, it flooded my home, ruined my floors and they wont cover anything but fix the washer 2 weeks later, so I would not recommend this product. If I would have left and came back, my home would have been totally gone and my insurance I would have had to use and put out a deductible, and my rates would have went up or dropped because of the malfunction. It was a nightmare trying to get through to the number for your warranty, thank goodness Allen at Home Depot got the ball rolling for me, but would not recommend product or warranty. Next time Im buying the cheapest washer out there for the money in spent.
I thought I made a good deal on my washer top loader but it was just awful. Ive been with a washer that Sears has replaced practically every part on washer. The brand is a horrible gone wrong. Sears should of replaced on the 3rd time washer broke down and I should of given a new washer with a better brand for washer? Defect with time? Im a customer over 45 years and I shouldnt have been taken care of.
LG electric Range LSB5611SW/SB/SS - I received a safety advisory note from Sears that their burners on certain ranges were failing to turn off after being switched off. Sears was very quick in responding by sending a technician to replace a board. The technician turned on a burner to test that it was working. Later, I started to cook, turned on a burner to mark 5. Loud clicking noises were heard, not once but intermittently. It only stopped when I turned the knob to the highest point or turned it off. Upon my complaint to Sears, another contracted technician (Jim) was sent. He had to call an LG technician for instructions. He checked that the board was connected per LGs instructions, and upon turning on the stove again, he agreed with me that the clicks were loud. Jim said that he would report the matter to Sears. After not having heard back from Sears, I called them again. Apparently, there was no report about any clicking noises from the contractor. Each time, I get to speak to a different agent either in Montreal or Belleville. I then called Jim who assured me that he spoke with Sears in the Burnaby outlet. I then decided to call LG. I spoke with a Josh who asked me when the contracted technician replaced the monitor. I said in January. He said that there was a directive that went out that those units that were attended to prior to February 2013 had to be rewired. That meant that the monitor on my range was wired incorrectly and Sears should have sent a technician to correct the error. On March 18, 2013, I spoke with a Claude from LG who told me that there was no report of my conversation with Josh, and that he would get Josh to return my call. On April 5, 2013, I spoke with Tia explaining the whole story again. I asked to speak with a manager but he was in a meeting. In the meantime, I have purchased a two-burner stove. The clicking noises are annoying. The kicker is that other households have complained about the clicking noises. What is LG and Sears going to do about it? Can they correct the problem? Or is this problem insurmountable? It is 4 months since I received the notice from Sears.
Our LG dishwasher has a odor coming from the inside after a wash cycle after the dishes are removed and it is empty for several hours. Have tried pouring water in the bottom and pumping it out operating the pump by pressing the on button, normal then normal and power scrub together to pump water out of bottom. Tried wiping it down after a cycle, no help, poor design, wish I had never purchased this unit. My friend has the same unit with the same problems, will not dry dishes, odors, is this really a safe dishwasher to use. If it has a odor that means it is not getting hot enough to sanitize the dishes.
LG makes it difficult for repairmen to buy parts. This forces you to use their customer service. I understand the rationale in this, it can help the company ensure the machine gets fixed by an LG approved repairman. Having said this, the LG customer service is based in the Philippines. I dont blame the workers there who are trying their best, however, their training and product knowledge is so limited they are unable to think rationally about a course of action for my problem. I cant prove this, but it seemed that my calls with questions about my LG washer-dryer (which broke 5 times in 2 years) prompted the service centre to consult a script instead of thinking and answering. I wondered this because their answers did not address my question. Based on the other reviews Ive read, this will be my first and last purchase of any LG product. It seems they are designed to be attractively cheap, but break easily, then have poor service to correct the problems. I will never endorse this company to any colleagues.
LG is by far the worst refrigerator you can buy. It failed in 4 years due to a badly designed linear compressor. LG didnt ship the correct parts. They outsource it all to A and E appliance who is also an incompetent company whos scheduling is so bad its been two weeks and I still dont have a working refrigerator. They dont care at all. I cant even express the hoops I have jumped through and hours of talking on the phone that I have had to endure. I was holding on out of principle but the refrigerator is now heading to the landfill. I cant waste my time anymore. Not only will I be actively discouraging anyone to purchase a LG refrigerator but also doing any form of business with the company.
