Bought it in 2015 with 5 year extended warranty from Home Depot, nice features and look, first time no cooling in 2018, linear compressor broke, had to buy a small freezer to move the food as the service came after a week, then another week for the compressor to arrive. Then in 2019 the top ice maker not working getting frozen, tech changed sprayer. Now, Oct 2020 the freeze and fridge not cooling, it seems to be the compressor again, need to wait one week for tech to come, overall a joke. Other techs recommend not to buy LG or Samsung as the parts not ready available and break frequently. Buying a GE this time and waiting for LG tech to repair and have it donated as do not have space to keep it as back up. What is the point of having a nice fridge if not reliable cooling.

I bought a beautiful LG refrigerator in 2017. It stopped working 3 days ago. LG said they could schedule a service in EIGHT DAYS, even though its 95 degrees, and we have a house full of kids who cant go to school due to COVID. I asked for something sooner and they kept me on hold for almost 2 hours with a pair of two-minute convos before HANGING UP ON ME. I looked this up online, and this clearly is a HUGE problem for a lot of people. What a terrible customer service experience from what WAS a well-respected company.

We purchased an LG Gas Range in November of 2012. Starting in May of 2015, the oven racks started becoming a struggle to slide them in and out of the oven. We noticed that the blue enamel was gone on the tracks where the oven racks slide in and out. We have contacted LG and they keep giving us the run around. We even sent pictures where it was evident that the enamel was gone and you could clearly see the metal. They responded with the following email, Sir: This is with regard to the request of range racks for model#LRG3095st. The unit was purchased 11/15/2012 which is over a year and not qualified for us to send you the racks for free. This racks can be ordered with our Parts Distributor, MCM ELECTRONICS phone# 800-824-9491. Also, regarding the pictures that you sent to us which have stains on the blue enamel, these were caused by liquids, sauces, grease, and other foods spilled or splattered inside the oven which is cosmetic issue, therefore not covered. So, all they ever wanted to do was have us order our own racks and state that these were stained by grease, liquids, etc. Obviously, he did not look at the picture and it appears he is stating that these things will eat the enamel off of the inside of the stove to where the metal is exposed... LG has a problem and is not wanting to take care of any problem pertaining to their product. Their customer service representative told me that it was out of warranty and that it is not covered. So basically, the enamel in the LG oven that costs around $1,000 is only meant to last 2 to 3 years. DONT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

After owning my top load LG washing machine for 4 years, I began getting the UE message on every wash that the unit was off balance. Should have started reading all the previous complaints... well I didnt. Then on Jan. 7, 2017 I received the LE message and the unit stopped working all together and smelling like it was on fire inside. I called the LG customer service where I was told I was out of warranty that they could sell me a one time fix for $305, this would include a technician coming out diagnosing the issue and all parts and labor. I paid for it, the first repairman came (1/13/17) he unplugged the machine, pressed start and then power for 10 seconds each, plugged it back in and told my husband it was fixed... NOT... I called back, they told me they would send a new technician. He came out on 1/16/17 and said the issue was UNDER WARRANTY (10 year warranty on motor) and the motor is SHOT. He would order the parts and come back out... when... he didnt know. Today is 1/30/17 and after speaking to the repairman who is STILL waiting to get the parts from LG... I spent ONE AND 1/2 HOUR on HOLD with LG and got NO RESPONSE... THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN HELL GET THE PARTS. Im at my wits end and just want to get my $305 back and go buy a new machine. I am so disappointed in LG and will never purchase another LG product.

LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Cod
LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Code #T1309ADFH6.ASSEEUS. Bought washer & matching dryer 11/27/2010 with 5 year extra warranty on both. Three years of hell! Large-capacity washer that simply WILL NOT BALANCE, but will instead of sounding a buzzer that it is OFF BALANCE, will just restart the countdown timer as it REFILLS with WATER and starts the rinse cycle... again and again and again. Found out the hard way one time 5 hours later that it was still restarting the rinse cycle because it could not balance itself, yet it had never once sounded with the buzzer. Yes, the buzzer can work on occasion, but the load has to be very off balance. When I first got it and the countdown timer reset and the rinse cycle started again, I mistook that it was just part of the machines normal operation, but there is nothing normal for the waste of water and the amount of time I spend standing in front of the washer trying to catch it before it resets AND the amount of time I spend rearranging the load to try and balance it in the tub to the machine balance sensors satisfaction... up to 30 minutes at a time moving heavy wet clothes around or removing them by hand to place one on this side and one on that side... endless aggravation. Even if I use the lowest spin and step it up to the highest spin, it will not balance. If you dont use the highest spin cycle (or step up from low to high) it takes nearly 2 hours to dry clothes on the 2nd highest spin cycle. The factory recall notice that I received was merely an insult to the problem because it does not address the ACTUAL issue -- which is that it will not balance. Instead, the recall wants to tell me not to wash raincoats or such nonsensical how to or not to use the machine properly. It will not balance with: ONLY pants or ONLY shirts or ONLY towels or ONLY pajamas. The bigger the load in this large-capacity washer, the bigger the balance problem. If I wash a tiny load like socks, it might actually finish the load all by itself once-in-a-while, but why have a LARGE-CAPACITY washer if it is useless? If you mix shirts and pants, be prepared to untangle the biggest wet knots you have ever seen! I stopped using the low-water features a long time ago when my clothes did not clean properly, so I now use the Bulky/Bedding setting, which fills the tub with water. When I used the low-water features, the balance problem was exactly the same. I always keep the door open when not in use, so it does not stink itself up and requires special tub cleaning. I have only had to clean it once. Since the normal way this company has responded to the myriad of consumer complaints is even more impossible than dealing with the product, I see no reason to play their game of endless service calls when NO SERVICEMAN CAN POSSIBLY REDESIGN A FLAWED APPLIANCE. I have not heard of any service call fixing this models problems. I bought a 5-year service policy with 2 years left. This machines design is a lemon, so where is the companys restitution to us consumers? I dont want the upgraded software because it takes away wash settings and spin RPMs that I bought in the first place. A recall that is stone-cold useless and removes some original wash (gentle) and spin (extra high) variations is their restitution, so consumer take heed.

I purchased a 30 cubic foot super capacity French door refrigerator in 2017 and now my second compressor is gone. The place I purchased it from no longer sells LG products. I called 4 repair technicians. I cant get anyone to come out and work on it. I paid $4,000 plus tax for this fridge thinking it was going to last me a long time. Not to mention the 2 fridge loads of food thrown out. We are a family of 6.

LG French Door Refrigerator/Freezer- This is the absolute worst appliance Ive ever owned, and Ive owned a bunch. 1st year of ownership computer board failed. Over next 8 years 3 fans went bad - out of warranty of course. Plastic door edge strips both had to be replaced - 5-7 yrs as the doors wouldnt close completely. Ice-maker was a real piece of junk - always jammed up and never produced a decent quantity of ice. Finally compressor went completely at year 12. Average life of unit is rated at 13 years - almost made it! Also learned that few techs will work on LG or Samsung because these units are not designed to produce error codes for diagnosis of problems. Also keep in mind, LG was formerly Goldstar, a very poor quality South Korean electronics company that was rebranded to LG because of their terrible quality and reputation. Run away quickly - you have been warned.

I have had my LG top loader WM3470HWA for 16 months. My towels smell like mildew and the mold from the washer has left brown streaks on my white clothes. I am sickened that after spending $850 on a top of the line washer, I need to now take my whites somewhere else to be washed. This is all AFTER replacing the tub seal, which after numerous calls and complaints and hold times, LG covered. The incompetent tech came out after this happened and said not sure what else it can be. He shrugged his shoulders and said the only thing left to do is replace the tub, but sorry we wont cover that. So, now Im stuck with this expensive machine and I cant wash my white clothes. I called customer service again, and they basically wrote me off... Im furious and will tell everyone I know never to buy LG again.

We purchased a new LG French door refrigerator from Home Depot in July 3 (delivery date) 2015. Within two months it started developing surface rust on the doors. This rust is continuing to appear all over the refrigerator!!! It is less than 6 months old!! I called LG and talked to the supervisor, then a manager. They wont do anything for me, and were extremely rude. They basically blamed me for incorrect cleaning even though all I have been using a stainless steel cleaner. Im not even convinced the fridge is truly stainless steel. It doesnt even hold a magnet??? And it is nothing compared to the quality of my GE appliances. BUYERS BEWARE!!! Do not buy LG. Horrible quality and worse customer service.

I purchased an LG refrigerator from ABC Warehouse on 5/24/15. On 6/3/16 my refrigerator stopped keeping things cold and the blower fan stopped working. We purchased an extended warranty for this item and was referred to an appliance repair company that ABC dealt with. On 6/7/16 the company finally came out and they determined what parts they needed to order. It is 6/19/16 and my refrigerator is still not repaired. Its ridiculous that I spent over $3000 on this refrigerator just to have it stop operating one week after the manufactures warranty. To matters worst I purchased an LG washer and dryer 10/15/15 only to have the washer and dryer both need repair work done. I am currently waiting on parts for the washer and since the repair man was out the dryer is now making a noise and is need of service. I will never purchase an LG appliance again. When you spend thousand of dollars on an appliance you expect it to last longer than 6 months.

Ever since we purchased the machine (a birthday present that was supposed to make life easier) we have suffered from clothes that stink, even right out of the washer. We tried changing detergents. No good. We purchased cleaning solvents from the store and ran cleaning cycles, good for one wash. Then the stink is back. The company says to leave the door open and wipe the inside rubber gasket dry after each use. Leaving the door open is not really an option and it blocks the hallway. I read that there are multiple complaints concerning the rubber gasket and stink from LG, and their overall response is the same as what they told me. I am more than willing to group together and go after the company for these machines. What a hunk of junk.

LG Steam Washer WM2501h*A - I have been satisfied with this washer, except for its occasional inability to properly spin bulky or mixed loads. However all that changed the weekend before Thanksgiving when it apparently completed a load of clothes and then completely stopped functioning - no lights, no error messages, nothing. My husband did a bit of troubleshooting to make sure it was getting power (it was) and checking online. He suspected it needed a new motherboard. We found a local repairman who was able to come out the next day and he determined that was indeed the problem. This washer is less than 3 years old, and after having an old workhorse of a heavy-duty Kenmore that worked reliably for more than 20 years, with minimal problem, I was very disappointed this new fancy machine was already having a problem with a repair cost of $350. We bought LG because they were getting good reviews, and spent a pretty good piece of change on both the washer and dryer - I would never have expected to have any problem in this short of a time frame. I probably should have stuck with an old top-loader with old proven mechanism instead of trying to go green and save a little water... incredibly disappointed in LG.

Im not made of money so my hard earned money was thrown in the wind. NOW after over 2 weeks of waiting on it to be fixed, THE PART THEY SENT WAS WRONG!!! So now I get to wait again. I found this site while researching LG FL washers. I have had an LG WM2010CW washer for years now. I went through the mold issue and solved it with common sense. Im not disparaging anyone here with mold issues but these suggestions fixed my issue which was minor in comparison.Clean out the filter at the bottom of the machine; then run a clean cycle with a cup of vinegar. Pour it into the dispenser for detergent, not the bleach dispenser. When the cycle is done, re-clean the filter and wipe out interior with vinegar. Get out the goop manually. Remove the dispenser drawer and wipe out the entire compartment with vinegar. Allow to air dry overnight leaving out the drawer. Replace the drawer and run a rinse to remove the vinegar. Quit using fabric softener or dryer sheets and switch to an unscented powder detergent. You need to be able to smell the machine. Use 2 tbsp. per load for moderate water, 1 if your water is soft. Adjust up or down as needed from there. Fill the softener compartment with white vinegar. Run an extra rinse on every load to work on the buildup. If you are using scented detergent and its still strong-smelling after the cycle, it isnt rinsing out. To monitor rinsing, add a gallon of water through dispenser drawer during rinse cycle, or more if needed, to see water. If detergent isnt rinsing out, either the oil or dirt is in your clothes. Do this for a month or so as every load of clothes will be reintroducing mold to your machine. Fabric softener is made from animal fat and will get rancid and breed mold. It also leaves fatty, greasy residue on your clothes that detergent must cut through. Detergents are alkaline so the mold in your washer needs that environment. The vinegar is a mild acid. Once your washer is back to normal and you have detergent dosage worked out, use a max of a tbsp. of softener or mix softener (50/50) with vinegar. The clean cycle on your washer is for maintenance. It isnt designed to eradicate a major problem. It took awhile for the machine to get in such bad shape and it will take time to fix it.

Purchase a set of LG washer (WT4870CW) and dryer from Best Buy that was last year’s model on 04/12/2014. Upon the washing machine acting up and not draining after about 10 or 11 months, we called LG support to get it corrected, was when we were informed it was almost two years old. Even when we had it less than a year. The washing machine had OE and UE errors popping up interrupting the spin cycle continuously, requiring resetting and restarting in the spin cycle. The first tech diagnosed it needed a stator, ordered that to our house and installed it, problem continued. LG schedule second tech service company, who diagnosed, after reading bulletin stator replacement no longer done, but circuitry parts. Ordered two, parts came to house and third person came in only installed one circuit, stating I needed two separate circuits for washer and dryer. Problem continued. LG was notified and I was informed the previous appliance service technicians came from an appliance service company that they can no longer recommend. Plus since this problem has extended past the original warranty I needed to get an extension, which was done at no cost, to cover the next service person. A third appliance company, who came today and diagnosed Pipe in house will not let unit drain, gets pressure build up and no drain. Customer needs plumber. Nothing wrong with unit.” I immediately returned home and showed the tech the fault of his diagnosis by detaching the drain from the drain pipe in the house and connecting the cold water feed to the drain pipe and had it run for several minutes. THEN he said, I dont know what to tell you. Then he said my pipe was too high, so I pulled out the manual nearby and NOPE the pipe length was well within the distance in the manual. Wrong again. The machine works he said, when you dont connect it to the drain pipe, so it’s a drain problem he said. Nothing wrong with the machine when you disconnect it and let it run in a garbage barrel, he said. What are you talking about, the machine worked for like 10 or 11 months and now this problem wont go away and you are saying that the problem is not with the machine? “Oh it tries to send the water up but it can only send so much, then it figures it cant then it shuts down.” “Oh,” I said, “then it’s a sensor problem, or a computer problem.” “No there is nothing wrong with the machine, when you disconnect the pipe into a garbage barrel.” How does this continue on? “Oh, Ill have my boss give you a call, because I cant fix a problem that isnt there.” There were also suggestions to re-route my drain pipe through the basement window opening, creating a new larger pipe, but his suggestions simply met deaf ears by that time. So after he leave and here I am at the Consumer Affairs site reading all the numerous complaints and I find one service tech diagnosed a pressure switch as the problem, which under warranty I would welcome before I send this unit to the scrap heap.

The knobs were broken. Originally, I thought it was just my stove. I have since found out that this is an enormous problem for LG. I returned home over Thanksgiving to smell gas. My elderly mother had made some tea while I was at the store. She was visiting for the holiday and was unfamiliar with the stove. She thought she had turned it off, but because the knobs were spinning on the posts, the stove only appeared to be off. It was in fact filling the room with gas. While I was opening the windows, my mother was apologizing while rushing to the stove to turn it off in her embarrassment. Knowing what was about to happen, I lurched across the room and grabbed her hand before she reached the stove.Of course, if she had turned the knob at that time, it would have passed the ignition point and exploded the gas that was filling the room. Instead, I left the gas on at its lowest setting while opening all the doors and windows. 10 minutes later, when I aired the kitchen, I crouched down and turned off the stove. I wrote LG six weeks ago and they have not responded. I think many people would do what my mother nearly did and exploded their house. This product is deadly. It is just a matter of time before it kills people. LG needs to proactively seek out every stove with this defect and fix it or recall the product.

I purchased this refrigerator, model LFD22860ST, from Sears in Feb. 2007. Two weeks ago, I smelled an electrical type smell that woke me up in the middle of the night. The light bulbs had been burning while the doors were shut. The wiring was burnt. The light cover was burned and melted off and was laying on top of food. The top of the liner had begun to melt as well. I managed to get one bulb out. The other bulb burned out. One of the plastic tabs in the upper inside corners of the french doors (the part that is supposed to keep the door firmly closed) broke off. And the bracket deep inside that you screw the tab into has broken out as well. So, there is no way to anchor/screw a new tab in even if I wanted to. Its the door with the controls and water in it, so its a challenge to make sure it is not coming open by itself. The plastic piece that runs across the lower inside, that holds the crisper bins in, has broken in the middle. So, every time you pull/push the bins back in, you have to struggle with that as well. The ice maker overfills. And when you open the bottom freezer door, ice cubes come tumbling out all over the floor. With that, Im constantly turning the ice maker either on or off. Ive noticed that LG has discontinued this model. Was it discontinued because of these problems? I paid an awful lot of money for this designer, stainless steel, french door refrigerator. I really expected it to last more than 4 years!

We bought an LG Refrigerator back in 2013 and had problems with it closing properly, since day one. Over time my produce would not stay as fresh, so about a month ago we had it professionally moved to our garage for a backup fridge (to keep drinks cold). Due to it being a much warmer setting it caused my unit to have to work in overdrive to keep it cool. In return causing it to overheat and it stopped cooling the fridge and freezer causing everything in the freezer to spoil. I paid $90 for a technician to come out and he diagnosed it with a bad sealed system (which let me had that the sealed system was a terrible concept). LG said they will warranty the part but I am responsible for the $1,000 labor :( I will never again purchase an LG product for the reason. Poorly made and do not back up their poorly made products!!!

It is very easy to use. It cleans well and has lots of options that save time and water and guessing which setting to use. I Have owned and used front loaders before and this fits the bill. The only drawback, if you could call it that, is you must leave the door ajar when done to prevent a mildew smell. But that is really just normal for a front loader and this one is better than most.

I have a HE washer that has needed repairs over the years and since I bought it from Sears with the extended warranty, the repairs were covered. Finally it got the death sentence: $2300 to fix, so Sears is giving me replacement value towards a new washer. I was trying to decide between a Kenmore and an LG model. So many of you have talked about getting a Kenmore instead of any other. Thanks for helping me decide to stick with Sears brand. Oh, and I am paying the $$ for the extended warranty on that one, too. Thanks!

Its a terrible design flaw. Rust is on the hinges where no chlorine or detergent goes. I have pictures... Paint will not help. The entire under part of the area above the bin but connected to the place where you put detergent or bleach is completely rusted out and the metal is so bad. I can stick my finger through it. They sent me an email... that the rust in your washing machine bleach dispenser is a result of the detergent or other additives being spilled that have not been wiped clean. Chlorine bleach is corrosive and will erode the finish if not cleaned immediately. If any spills should happen make sure to wipe it up immediately and the area cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth. Touch-up paint maybe use to cover the area, if not service may be necessary. How could LG design a washing machine that uses bleach and detergent knowing full well that it might get on areas besides the stainless bin and get under this area and all around the entire top of the machine and rust out. That is what happened.

This machine (LG wt5480cw) has been nothing but trouble. The detergent draw stayed full of water after every load I purchased the extended warranty thru LG coverage until 2019. They sent out a repairman 4 times finally fixed it. Now the tub will not drain completely so I called for repair. This is their customer Julies reply. We have been out there 3 times under the warranty and I have used up the money on those other calls even though they were for the same problem. They kept opening a new claim number (which they should have not done it was the problem). Now we are going to buy out the service contract for $267.00 leaving me out in the cold when I thought I was safe until 2019.So what is the sense in buying extended warranty if they deduct the service calls from the original price of the washer until it surpasses it purchase price then youre screwed. I could have paid for the service call without their RIP OFF EXTENDED WARRANTY CRAP and been ahead. Now I have $267.00 to replace a $900 washer. Please do not buy the extended warranty or better yet DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS.

We purchased an LG Inverter Direct Drive dishwasher from Home Depot. Right after our warranty expired the dishwasher did not drain. A repairman came out and replaced the pump, costing us $160. In less than two months the problem is back. The repair labor was warrantied for 30 days, which has now passed. So we will again have to pay $75 just for the repairman to make a diagnosis. I have checked the hose, and kept the filter clean, though this is not something I ever had to do with any other dishwasher. LG dishwashers are very badly designed, and LG does not stand behind their products.

We purchased our new refrigerator along with an LG stove and microwave when we moved into our new home in 2016. Part of our decision was based on the experience we already had with our LG washer and dryer. Here we are now fighting issues with a refrigerator that should easily last 10+ years. If we had known previously about the compressor issues we would not have purchased this brand. Where are the lemon laws for refrigerators?Issue started with water on the floor and at first we thought the in-door ice maker was failing (more on this later), then two days later we noticed that ice cream was soft in the freezer and then a day later no cooling at all (by the way - all of this in the middle of COVID-19 quarantine and trying to make sure we had enough groceries on hand). It took approximately 1 1/2 weeks to get service on site for repair. The technician replaced the compressor and stated that the refrigerator would now run louder. Well, it was so loud we couldnt hear our tv in the next room without turning up the volume to almost maximum level.I pulled the refrigerator out and found that one of the copper tubes from the compressor was vibrating and rubbing on the rear cover. Called for service again to fix the noise issue. When he checked the refrigerator, he stated that he could find nothing wrong; however, he did release some of the coolant because he thought the compressor may have been overcharged and overheating. This seems to have resolved the noise issue. The in-door ice maker - noticed that after the compressor failed we now have water dripping intermittently out of the left hand door (the door with the ice maker). I mentioned this to service tech during his return visit and he said it was probably because I was leaving the door open too long and there was not enough cold air for the ice maker compartment. Ive had the refrigerator for not quite 4 years and never had this issue before - I dont think Ive changed how I use my refrigerator. This issue has not been resolved. We question how long the new compressor will last (4 years?). How much more electricity is the refrigerator using now as compared to before - seems to run a lot more now.

This is the worst design I have seen for a gas range. The knobs turn on easily. I first realized this after it had been installed and I told my husband, that could be so dangerous with kids in the home. We have accidentally hit them and turned them on ourselves so to have kids in the home would be awful. Even the older ranges have a safety feature for the knobs so they dont turn so easily. I woke up last night to a house full of gas. The stove had been running gas for at least 5 hours. We live in a multi level condo and the smell had become so strong upstairs that it woke me up.I did read there is a lock out feature by pushing the lower clear/off button down for 3 seconds; however, its a matter of always remembering to do that. I truly believe there should be a case made and there should be a safety recall on these stoves/ranges. Not happy. I will be shopping for something new. Regardless of the cost, whats the cost of our lives! Bad bad design. You would think in this day and age products would be safer than older models. Why then is this one SO dangerous???

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator in Sept. 2018. It quit cooling in March 2020. Had a service call and was told that the part would be ordered and the technician would come back to install it. Never heard back from the technician so I called the service center. I was told that the part had never been ordered and would be ordered. I never received a call regarding the part so I called again. I was told that the part was discontinued and could no longer be ordered. The person at the call center could not help me. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I was asked for proof of my purchase. I sent my Lowes credit card statement showing the purchase date, what was purchased, what store it was purchased from, and the price. The statement had all of the information that was requested from LG.LG came back and asked for the actual receipt. The original receipt was taken by the service technician so that he would have the information to order the part. I cannot get a copy since the Lowes store that I purchased the refrigerator from has since closed. Furthermore, LG has all of my information. When I made the initial service call, they looked up my account with my phone number and told me that they had all of my information. As of today, the BBB has closed my complaint as LG is refusing to repair or replace my refrigerator with the receipt that their technician has. Just infuriates me to be out $2,300.00! Buyer beware! There are several class action suits on the refrigerator that I purchased but LG continues to sell the defective appliance and so does Lowes. They have looked for every outlet to get out of making good on their appliance!

Tub assembly beaming $856.00. PCB/Main - $422.00. Labor - $250.00. Total cost with tax is $1628.00. I should have trusted the reviews and purchased new dryer rather setting up the appointment to lose $125.00. Luckily I realized after seeing the reviews and didnt go for service. I bought this set because I liked the look of the stainless steel with a clear coat on top. Unfortunately after 3 years the finish on top of the washer didn’t hold up and had many marks and streaks which is weird because the finish doesnt seem scratched—just has discolorations. There is one setting, Sports wear, that has no features associated with it which seems like a bug. You choose it, and there are zero settings. No temp, speed, spin etc. They are just blank. I do wish I could add the fabric softener setting for every type of wash, but its not available on several. Otherwise it seems to do a good job and has great capacity.

First time I have ever felt compelled to write a review but after reading through so many here and having the worst experience Ive ever had with a Customer Service group I really need to. For the reviewer who said they took a day off to be home for a confirmed (via email) service appointment that was a no-show cancellation because LG never actually had a repair person confirmed - the exact same thing happened to me two weeks ago today... I even called that morning 3 hours into my 4 hour window to verify and was told someone was en route only to find out when I called 90 minutes later I was only then told that the appointment was canceled. I later spoke with the repair facility and they told me they had declined the job because they didnt have availability!Seems Im luckier than most that my LG fridge has gone 8 years without incident. 16 days ago my wife opened it in the morning and it was totally dead. No lights, no compressor, just no power. The outlet tested fine but the lack of lights pointed to it being electrical. I called the toll free number for LG on the inside of fridge and the person seemed helpful enough; Said it probably needed a new motherboard, but because it was out of warranty he would need my credit card details and for $361 we could get this fixed. Thats cheaper than a new fridge so I gave him what I needed and they were certainly very expedient in putting the charge on my credit card! I started to look around on the internet to see if any other reports of this issue and if the fridge could in fact be saved and learned that this whole issue likely stemmed from a small, blown 15 amp fuse... A part that LG soldered into the motherboard rather than put in a easily bracket for easy replacement that could be purchased for about 25 cents. After the no-show appointment, LG Customer Service said they would give the job to another repair facility. They put me on hold, came back a few minutes later and told me they had left them a voicemail and they gave me the phone number and told me that I was free to reach out to them too. I phoned, and left a voicemail around midday that Friday and never received a callback. Over the weekend I phoned and left another voicemail to give them my cell # as well as Id be back at work on Monday and that would be the best number to reach me. By midday on Monday I still had not gotten a call. I did call the number through from the email confirmation the previous week and got a speaking person who gave me the true story on the canceled appointment and told me they could see me on Wednesday afternoon. Confirmed it with them and asked them to contact LG and that I would do the same to let them know that their other company doesnt appear to exist and they need to reassign it to the original technician they schedule. I called LG and was on the phone on hold for most of the time for almost an hour. After an hour and 20 minutes I was disconnected and nobody called me back (all this time Im at work and doing LGs work for them!). I called LG back on my way home and the told me all was good to go.Repairman comes on Wednesday (approximately 1 week since no fridge/contacting LG) after I take a half day to be home and the diagnosis is a blown fuse. Great, but despite it being known from the onset that the motherboard needs to be replaced he doesnt have the part, but they do have 2 in their warehouse and will work with the warranty company on the formalities to try and replace by Friday. No appointment gets made, Repair Service says theyre waiting on LG to approve. I call LG and they tell me another Department cant make the appointment as the Repair Services schedule isnt available online. I call the Repair Service and they tell me nonsense, theyre getting scheduling confirmations from them right now. I call LG back, they tell me theyre now waiting on the Claims Department to approve the part, a process that can take up to 3 business days (this despite charging me almost $400 to replace the part over a week ago).Monday this week comes and I have no phone call, and no appointment. I call LG back and again more being put on hold but now the explanation is were waiting on the part to come in. They couldnt answer me when their Claims Dept approved this so we arrived to this step, nor why we couldnt have had the repair facility (a LG contracted provider!) use one of theirs. They have in stock but Im starting to feel this whole thing is shady. They told me refrigerator repairs are given priority status (a joke!) and that my simple repair was being given a priority to be remedied this week.I called LG back 2 days later (Wednesday, 2 weeks of no fridge and first contact with LG) having not heard back from them and was told that the system shows that I was told that I would be contacted by Friday at the latest if the part had not arrived. I lost my patience at that point and told them I was not told the part coming in would take a full week and that I was instead told that my repair would be a priority to be completed this week and how could we be waiting on a part we knew it needed from the onset, that is readily available to purchase online at a fraction of what Im being charged, and that their repair service was in possession of 2 of them. I told them that rather than trying to bilk a few extra dollars of profit on this 5 minute repair job by using the cheapest available board they can assign in their system they really need to make this a customer resolution case as its been 2 weeks and I need to speak with someone who can look at this absurd situation and make an actual decision to get it fixed. They tell me they will try to forward me to a supervisor to see if they can help. After 10+ minutes on hold the person I was speaking with comes back online and tells me the repair appointment has been made for between 8 AM and 12 PM tomorrow. I thought someone in charge realized and was acting in customer-retention mode until they told me it was not the repairman who had seen me a week ago that would be coming but the one who never returned my 2 voicemails. I asked to confirm for certain hes bringing the board and fully prepared for the appointment to make the repair and am told is the case.I take another half day from work, and the repairman shows up early and when I let him in my house I half-jokingly say to him, Please tell me you have the board and he looks at me with no clue and says he didnt bring anything, the work-order he got only said LG Refrigerator - not cooling. Hes almost as angry as I am that he wasnt told the fridge was totally dead of electric and that another technician had already been here and made the diagnosis. I felt bad for him as he came from a good distance away in the teeth of rush hour having been told to make my call a priority but a total waste of his time and mine. At this point I called LG and just lost it with them and essentially told them their Out of Warranty purchase had to be some kind of scam bordering on criminality as there is no way a real business enterprise could be this incompetent! I was told my account was being escalated to their real Resolution people (i.e. the ones tasked with explaining the inexcusable) and it would take 24 to 48 business hours for one of them to contact me and no doubt the buffer is in hopes that Im much calmer.I have a family of 4 thats been living out of a cooler on my kitchen floor the last 16 days and running out every other night for a new 16 LBS bag of ice. I had to invest in a chest freezer for my garage so that we had some kind of food for my kids on-hand. Ive burned 2 full days off from work and have easily spent more than 3 hours on the phone during business hours on hold with LG. And my fridge is still not fixed, and no appointment in sight for someone to come here and essentially unplug 5 little plugs and then plug the 5 little plugs into the new board. And they charged me almost $400 for this level of service when I could have gotten a new board for $120 and done this myself.I think LG right now on the service front is trying to milk the last nickel of profit on these out of warranty purchases on the assumption it will be the last nickel they see from these customers. Perhaps a self-fulfilling prophecy experiences like this will make a reality. Maybe the US market isnt working out for LG Appliance as it doesnt seem like their heart is in it for the long-haul.

2017 FH4U2VCN Front load washing machine - Quite the most unreliable machine I have purchased in 60 years. Constantly stops at the rinse/spin stage with uneven load flagged. After 6 months of this I had LG engineer call and make the usual excuses too much load, too little load, wrong type of mix. What a load of tosh. To placate me he replaced the motor and housing to what seems no improvement whatsoever. It is now 12 months old and unless it is fixed once and for all it will go back to Currys and legal action will follow. The machine fails to complete on average three out of every five washes. At this point Currys is not in the picture as servicing has to go through LGs totally abysmal website where they cant even manage to email you that your complaint has been received - just warning you only to sent report once! What the blazes is that about?

I WONT BUY A LG ELECTRIC RANGE AGAIN. The LG Range Oven model # LRE383ST01 we purchased in 2015 has been nothing but trouble. In the first year the burner and main board went out. Luckily we were still under the warranty so LG sent their technician to replace them. A few weeks after the warranty expired, the glass top made a pop noise and cracked like a spider web on the lower right burner and spread. We called LG, explained the situation and told them this seems a factory part defect. They politely blamed us of dropping something on the glass which was 100% false and they used we are sorry to gently fade their fault with this. We let it go - not to waste our time. Price of a new glass top is near $400. Couple month after the new range top was installed the new glass top cracked again. It couldnt happen at a better time but Christmas Eve 2016, with having family over, around 4 pm while food cooking, the glass top made a loud pop noise and broke again on the lower right burner. Here was my experience with LG Range and dealing with the company who took the easy road to blame the customer for their defective part. Now I have an expensive LG range-oven with another broken glass top. My recommendation: Stay away from LG Range with glass top.

LG HE Top Loader is the worst purchase I have ever made! I have read the reviews here and thank goodness, this washer has never caused any damage to our home. But it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to do laundry with this thing. We purchased this in February 2015 and while I cant find the model number right now, it is a top loader, 4.9 cu. ft. bought at Lowes. From the moment we bought it, we quickly discovered it is insanely touchy about keeping in balance - the first couple of months, almost every load I did got off balance and caused the machine to make horrible noises, bumping and jumping around until I got the OB error and it would just stop. After talking with numerous people, I learned it is best to fill the washer completely with clothes and this eliminates the problem most of the time. Well, I dont know about you but in a 2 person household, it is almost impossible to completely fill this machine, every time I use it. For instance, I am trying to wash a load of towels right now - every bath towel that we own, exactly according to the machine instructions and it keeps getting off balance because the towels are too heavy from water and bang around in the machine. I NEVER had to even think about this with my standard machine and now it feels like every time I do laundry, its practically a physics lesson to think about the proper mix of clothes to get the right weight to finish a cycle. It should NOT be this difficult and you cant tell me LG doesnt know this. I dont know if any other brands have this issue but for the amount of money we spent, these clothes should practically wash themselves. Sometimes, advanced technology is NOT better, only more chances for things to go wrong.

This WT5075CW washer is completely useless. I am going to have to replace it, and I have only had it a little over a year, but I cant take it anymore. It gets unbalanced on the spin cycle for no apparent reason. I only was like weight and size clothes together. I rearrange the clothes when it gets unbalanced and then restart. It starts filling with water again and stops unbalanced again. I try the Spin Only cycle. Same thing. I was the same loads every week and it is completely random as to which load will have this problem. Last week, it was the delicates – how can they cause an unbalance???!!! I am left with an entire load of sopping wet clothes that I have to drain over the top of the washer, hang out on the patio until the dripping stops and then dry in the dryer for over an hour. I called my BrandsMart extended warranty repair team out and they said that is how the washer was designed and charged me $60.

LG is not very reliable on smartphones and/or tablets as Samsung electronics, but if you consider about buying home appliances and/or smart TVs, LG is the right choice.

I owned a LG top washer for a little more than two years. I had the agitator fixed the first year and it broke again the second year. When the technician fixed it, he said LG knew about the problem and it was re-engineered. It broke again. LG would not stand behind their product for replacement. Why buy an LG when you need it fixed every year? Their customer service told me it would have to break in 90 days for replacement. So if I need an annual fix it is my problem, since it did not happen in 90 days.

It is ridiculous to have to dry the washer out each time it is used. The door is hard to open and so low to the ground I have injured my back. You have to clean out the little holes at the bottom of the gray piece. It holds lint. The dryer door is very hard to open. We took the light bulb out so I only have to open the door when dryer has been used. The washer and dryer doors are always open to permit me from having to lean over and pull the doors open. I have had back surgery since we got the washer and dryer and I was fine before the purchase. I will never buy an appliance from LG again!

Contacted LG service, tech came out found nothing. Took pictures of the finished wash with soap stains sent them to LG, another tech arrived and tried to solve the problem. No luck. Called again. Still no satisfaction. Finally after fourth tech I had a tech make a suggestion that seems to work. LG engineers in their infinite wisdom of trying to make a washing machine that is water efficient failed. The machine senses how much water based upon the weight of the items in the tub which basically doesnt wash squat. So by having the machine first wet the clothes and restarting the cycle the load is now heavier and the machine increases the amount of water in the tub to accommodate the heavier load. Now you have enough water to actually wash clothes! Seems a stupid way to get a machine to work, but it appears to solve the problem. Basically LG engineers need to learn how to actually test their product before sucking the consumer into buying junk!

LG LFXS29766S stopped cooling both on refrigerator & freezer today (21 Aug 2018). Bought it new 29 Jul 2015. Luckily I bought the store 4 year warranty. Repair came in, and I was right. He had to replace the compressor. My LG is working again but I anticipate my fridge to fail again in two years time. What a worrisome product! Repairman was awesome: in and out within 2 hours. He also knew about the first lawsuit that was dismissed. I asked him if there was any other way to convert their inverter type compressor to the traditional type or to a different brand but he said no. I just hope my LG doesnt explode next... wait... thats Samsung. Lol. This ends my purchase of any Korean appliance product.

First Im 5 ft 2 in, I need a stepladder to reach my close in bottom of washer, pain in the butt, then only 4 yrs old, a valve stuck on filling my washer to overflowing, it flooded my home, ruined my floors and they wont cover anything but fix the washer 2 weeks later, so I would not recommend this product. If I would have left and came back, my home would have been totally gone and my insurance I would have had to use and put out a deductible, and my rates would have went up or dropped because of the malfunction. It was a nightmare trying to get through to the number for your warranty, thank goodness Allen at Home Depot got the ball rolling for me, but would not recommend product or warranty. LG has met my initial expectations. Price was the first reason for purchasing this refrigerator. We loved the fact that the shelving was movable. Lots of space, very nicely organized. Well built. Satisfied my growing family. Great color choices. Nicely constructed. Very happy with the service we received. More freezer space needed though. For a growing family its difficult to place frozen foods of different sizes into such a small area such as the freezer. Maybe put more shelving options in the refrigerator.

We paid top dollar (over $3000) for an LG Linear refrigerator in June, 2015. In March, 2018, it began making strange clicking noises so we got online and followed some tutorials about how to fix it. Nothing worked. We had a repairman come and he had to replace the control board and fan, at a cost to us of about $600. Now here we are in October, 2019 and it’s doing the exact same thing. We are looking at having to replace both exact same things, only this time it will cost $690. We could have bought a new refrigerator for what we’ve spent on repairs in the past four years. I will never buy another LG product. Maybe the company will see this and offer some compensation, but I doubt it. It’s infuriating!

It was wonderful until last week when it flashed UE to indicate an uneven load, but would not unlock the lid so we could rearrange the clothes. I unplugged it to try to reset it and when I plugged it in again it was completely dead and the clothes were still locked inside with a lot of water. The repairman from Sears (where we bought it) said it needed a new control board and the cost of the repair would be $661. We can buy a new machine for not much more so we declined. Going shopping for a new washer. At least he got our clothes out but they smelled like a sewer after they had sat for a week while we waiting for a service appointment.

I called the LG 1-800-243-0000 number and was told there would be a $75 service charge plus parts and labor. I purchased my Window A/C unit on 9/14/09. I cannot put my energy saver on mode as the unit freezes over, then I have to turn it off, all the water runs in the floor when it defrosted and I have to mop all the water up. When I called that number, your rep tech told me I needed to run the A/C on 82 degrees. Well if that is the case, no need for A/C as some nights it is 82 degrees here. He was very rude, told me I needed to clean my filter every week, and I clean it every three months. He also told me my unit did not have energy saver and I was standing in front of my A/C reading all the functions with all the controls on it. He had no clue what I was talking about. I will never buy another LG product as long as I live. It was the worst conversation I had ever had with a rep. He did not know what he was talking about. He was rude and disrespectful. I called on July 26, 2011, around 8 or 8:15 p.m. I am very dissatisfied and I will tell my friends that LG has the most unsatisfactory service that I have been exposed to! I will further seek and find a name brand that will stand behind their product, and have faith in their warranty.

None of the service reps wanted to touch the unit. They stated that LG refrigerators had high linear compressor failure rate plus LG was delinquent in remitting payment for their services rendered. LGs compressors are warranted for 10 yrs. but purchasers must pay for all labor and trip charges. The authorized reps stated the average cost of to replace the compressor was between $600-$1200. This is no way that I would invest this amount of money for such a high failure product. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!

I bought an LG refrigerator 1 Year and a half ago. It started to make a noise like a plane about to take off. I called Customer service and was told that it was the fan and needed to be manually defrosted. I had never heard such a thing since the 60s. My parents had a Kenmore refrigerator for 50 years and never once had to manually defrost it. So I did as told and removed everything from the fridge, unplugged it and left it open for 10 hours. I dried the bottom, cleaned it and turned it back on. The noise was gone. Two months later the noise is back. I call customer service back and they tell me its user error, that I am leaving the door open too long or not shutting it correctly. They will send a tech out for $125. So I tell the guy its not user error and he tells me then I need to manually defrost. I tell him I have never heard of such a thing for a fridge in 2021 needing to be defrosted every two months. So ask him, Are you telling me I have to defrost this thing every two months? And he says, Thats not what I said. Yes..Thats what youre telling me. If the tech comes out here for $125 and finds it just needs to be manually defrosted then I will be charged for him to do what Im supposed to do every 2 months!!! So in other words this expensive piece of junk needs to be manually defrosted every two months. Worst purchase I have ever made and worst customer service. Save your money and buy another brand because they do not stand behind their products at all. I bought an LG washer (model WT5101HW) on November 14, 2011. It blew up on April 21, 2012. What I meant by blew up is it spent itself into self-destruction. I wish we could download pictures to this site. The damage is not repairable. The plastic supports that the tub was connected to are all busted, and the tub is sitting in the bottom of the machine. The frame is bent. The top is disconnected from the base. There is a dent in the wall on both sides of the machine. Im asking for payment for repairs to the wall. I sent pictures of the destruction with my claim, but Im waiting for a tech to come take a look at LGs request. Purchased a highly rated LG refrigerator in 2011 with a 10 year warranty on the compressor. 8 years to the day, the compressor died. Compressor is under warranty, but other parts & labor are my expense. When the repairman went to install the replacement compressor sent from LG he found it was not the same. In fact it was very different. LG Parts dept said it was compatible & should work. The repairman, who has 30 + years experience, told us that the refrigerator would need rewiring & even then there was no guarantee it would work. He estimated his labor time to be 4 hours. Further discussion with LG brought no other resolution. Bottom line, they do not have the compressor for older models. They could have offered to put the labor under warranty but they did not. Their final word was that someone on their end (from the parts dept) would instruct the repairman how to install the compressor. We know this repairman for over 20 years. He is very honest & very good. He said trying to install the compressor sent, as is would be a fire hazard. His recommendation is to save our money on the labor cost & put it to a new refrigerator. NOT LG. Another comment: I had little choice in 2011 when I went to buy a refrigerator the size I wanted. The bottom freezer was the style. I hate it for many reasons. You cant put boxes in without them jamming; even ice cream containers. I freeze meat & chicken in air tight bags in order to fit more in. I am now looking for a top freezer instead.

This was the biggest mistake buying the LG LFX 2578ST. After only 6 months the compressor conked out. LG has left us waiting for a replacement compressor on order that will take 2 or 3 days at which point the repair person would be sent out. I have always bought Miele and Bosch appliances but because we had space limitations the LG was perfect, looked good and had all the features we needed. The fridge I replaced was 12 years old and we never had a problem with it. LG has been less than helpful and really left us stranded with no fridge. I have no confidence in their product and customer service has been disappointing. They are not solution focused, have no intention of replacing the fridge and state they will cover only $250 in perishables in a lifetime. I purchased an LG refrigerator (LSXS26326S-00) in 2015. This year January 11 it stopped cooling. I had a repair man come out to check it. We were told it was the compressor, which would run about $550 labor and $350 for the new compressor (also $145 diagnostic fee). The compressor was ordered and the repairs were done. It was repaired on a Thursday afternoon and stopped working by Friday evening. The repair man came out again and notified us the the BRAND NEW compressor was faulty. He told us this was common with LG parts and this was part of a class action lawsuit. At the time of this review, I am still without a refrigerator and just over $1000 in the negative for repairs that did not solve my problem!! I will never purchase another LG anything!! I am very upset that with this known problem LG as a company did nothing to notify consumers who purchased these faulty models of this problem that is beyond repair. So I did go online to see if the claims were true about a class action lawsuit and they were. The last day to file a claim was February 5, 2021. I was already past that date by the time I was notified there was such a thing. I wasted time and lots money on this situation and couldve just purchased a new refrigerator. I will tell everyone I know to never by LG appliances and go through this horrible experience!!LG this is for you...Consumers like myself work really hard to make sure they purchase quality products. You are doing them a disservice by not being open and honest about your products if they have problems. A company of your magnitude should make good with consumers who purchased these FAULTY models. Failed compressor on a 4 year old Kenmore Elite French door refrigerator. It was manufactured by LG and sold by Sears Canada. Of course I purchased the extended warranty which is now null and void after having been underwritten by now defunct Sears Canada. LG Canada basically told me to go ** myself. I am Horrified that I spent 4000$ on an LG refrigerator and LG won’t step up to make this right given the known issue of compressor failure. The repair bill is estimated to be 1000$, which I cannot afford. I’ve had to purchase an inexpensive used fridge and move a basically lightly used top of the line refrigerator to storage in hopes that LG may step up and do what is right. It is untenable that consumers are being exploited in this way and treated with such a lack of care or concern. I am thoroughly disappointed and will be pursuing every avenue to see my money returned. So far, LG has proven they are driven by profit - they are knowingly selling defective appliances to consumers. I recommend that folks avoid LG manufactured products and spend their money on appliances that are manufactured by reputable companies that will stand behind their product. Compressors should last 10-20 years. 4 years??! They are defective and LG needs to own their mistakes.

Consumers beware when purchasing an LG appliance! If you are remotely mechanically inclined and prefer to save money and repair things yourself, LG is not the manufacturer for you. A little over a year ago LG decided that they will not sell replacement parts to the general public forcing you to call an authorized service center to come to your house at your expense to repair your appliance no matter how small or simple a fix.Recently I needed to replace an $8 tumbler roller on our LG Tromm dryer that had worn and was making noise. It is about a 30 minute fix and requires a screwdriver and two wrenches. LG Canada nor any of its authorized service centers would sell me the part even though I had already removed it and was ready to install a new one. The parts are sold in the USA but every company that sells the part will not ship to Canada. My only options are to either bend to these unfair practices by LG or junk the dryer and buy a new one - albeit a different brand!

PAID 1900 FOR HIGHLINE UNIT. Unit fan in freezer went out. Took 3 weeks to get part, lost $400 in food. Home Depot was helpful after screaming at them. Now fan out again and all food lost. Out of warranty and they want to send their people to my home. Awful service and awful appliance. No help and left with mess.

Wow! So glad I read these other complaints. I thought I was doing something terribly wrong to have my just washed clothing smell so foul. Bad product. We should get our money back, but it doesnt sound like we will. We, the consumer, who purchased this product have been pretty much robbed of our dollars. They do not back their product. We lose. It makes me very angry since we work so hard for our money.

LG LFXC24726D purchased Nov 2015, sealed system failure Aug 2018. Sealed system parts under warranty but not labor. Doesn’t matter, because every authorized LG repair service we call refuses the appointment because LG owes them for multiple warranty parts reimbursements! What good is a warranty if no one will honor it? Need to stay up late to find a commercial for one of those class-action law firms. LG fails to stand behind their products. Meanwhile, it great to have spent thousands on a fridge and then have to revert to a dorm fridge.

Our four-year- old LG French door/bottom freezer is a piece of junk. The ice maker continues to shoot water after the cubes have been made which are freezing into large clumps. We now buy 10 bags at the store. Also, the glide for the freezer shelf broke and the shelf fell off. We have since had it replaced. The circuit board failed, also. All food was lost. The LG supervisor was adamant that they could not replace after we appealed. Her comment was why we didnt buy the extended warranty (Who would have thought the main control for this unit would fail.). It cost us over $500 to replace the board, not counting the food which was all spoiled. Of greatest concern is the lack of customer empathy by the LG people. There will never again be an LG product in our home.

We purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator in 2011. The model was on sale. I wish I had seen the negative reviews here before purchasing! The ice maker often sticks (the water position). In the cube position we most often get crushed ice and few cubes. I find access to the on/off switch for the ice maker very inconvenient; a drawer - on which we keep ice cream containers - must be removed to reach the switch.. an awkward arrangement. And if we remove the ice drawer, getting the metal rod that protrudes from the back into the correct place can be difficult. Our experience hasnt been nearly as bad as many listed here, but I definitely would not recommend the LG to anyone.

The LG refrigerator fit perfectly in the space I had available. It is easy to clean and fingerprints are seldom seen. The refrigerator was a good value for the money when purchased in a set and so far it has been very reliable.

Only had for 2 year and ice maker broke and took 1 month to get part and now whole refrigerator down and it is taking over 1 week to have someone come to look at it. All food going bad. Will tell people not to buy LG as the parts and service is very poor. They dont care about customers. Just wasted 1 month of food and Home Depot wont help out to try to get someone out to help.
