Buyer Beware: We purchased an LG over the stove 2.0 Microwave middle of Nov 2019. After installation I turned the surface light of the microwave on. When I went back to put a dish in the microwave I found it to be extremely hot inside. We had not used the microwave nor the stove below to generate such heat. We turned off the surface light & checked the interior of the microwave it had cooled down. We then put a thermometer inside the microwave & turned the surface light back on to check if the light itself created the heat. In less than 1/2 hr the interior of the microwave heated to 117 F degrees. When we turned off the light the microwave was cool. We then called LG to alert them to our experience. The rep first hinted that it could be an electrical problem with our home. I explained our kitchen had been recently updated including all the electrical which was inspected by our local county inspector. They then sent a service tech out to examine the microwave. LG technical support told the service tech not to touch the microwave. They issued us a Claim number & an internal Bulletin about the problem. The tech told us we had to replace the light bulb ourselves despite it being new & under warranty. My husband is an electrician as well his friend who is a master electrician. They both researched the model. LG changed from the earlier model a 30 WATT incandescent light bulb to a 50 WATT Halogen light bulb in the same lighting compartment & model. The hole for the 30 WATT incandescent light bulb is still in the compartment & next to it is the newly added 50 WATT Halogen light bulb. IT sits just below the microwave box with absolutely NO VENTILATION. We were advised to notify our States Attorneys Office as well the BBB. We alerted the store we purchased it from to check the models they have on the floor & beware of the problem. Had we just turned on the surface light & left our home I cant imagine the outcome. If youre seeking to purchase a new LG microwave first check what type of surface light bulb the microwave is equipped with before you purchase it. LG obviously has no solution or will back their warranty on a less than one month old microwave.

I purchased the stove (LG Free Standing Stove) in November 2009. The electronics went out in October of 2010 and were replaced. In October of 2011, the electronics went out again. We contacted our LG repair person and waited for the new circuit board to come in. This is June and the board finally arrived (we have used the stove top only as the oven goes off as does the stove top, but easier to see). The new board was installed and now the stove does not work. The repair person replaced the old board and now the stove does not work. What recourse do I have at this point?

Ive been trying for a month to get service on my dishwasher. Although the 1 year warranty is gone, the board is warrantied for 5 years. First time I called LG they gave me 2 phone numbers for 3rd party service in my area. I called them several times and never got a call back. I set out to look for my own 3rd party service and contact Sears because they advertise that theyll fix any appliance whether you purchased it from them or not. The repairman showed up this morning and told me that Id have to call LG to get approval from them to have Sears be the 3rd party vendor. The service fee would be $99. That was OK with me.I called LG and was told that they had a local LG authorized service in my city. I got transferred and spoke with them. I was told that they would schedule a repair if I paid $125 up front and then the charge me for the installation of the part (which was free). That would have amounted to over 30% of the total original cost of the machine. I have no idea what to do now. I was able to submit an email to service to see if I get a better answer. Regarding other reviews about how dishes stack inside the washer, I have to agree. I always had issues with glasses breaking because they fell over. I change the way I put them in. The thing I liked about the dishwasher was the short Turbo cycle. It was 58 minutes and did a good job. If you buy an LG Dishwasher be sure to purchase the extended warranty.

Please steer clear of this product. It is a nightmare to do laundry. Continually says its uneven and runs more and more water to try and balance itself. Unless you have hours to devote to one load of laundry, get another brand. I personally cannot understand the people I call at LG help desk; definite language barrier. This washer apparently is ultra sensitive to a sock or some other small item being on the edge and Im constantly rearranging clothes to try and get it to finish. Worst appliance Ive ever owned and Im in my sixties.

I purchased all brand new LG appliances when we bought a new (to us) home four years ago. In the past four years I have replaced the washer door 3 times due to cracked Lexan plastic washer door covers. I just noticed the dryer door is cracking. These cracks originate at the pull open handle and increase in length until the Lexan comes apart in ones hand. I have emailed LG US customer support several time and they simply tell me to call a service provider. Suffice to say I will not be buying anything else from LG.

I purchased an LG refrigerator March 16 2019. The fridge makes a lot of noise, sounds like an owl and lots of banging. Freezer stopped working and I had the repairman here on Tuesday and he said it is fixed and that the fan was plugged. 2 days later the freezer and fridge are not working and I have thrown out all my food twice as I replaced it after the first service call. Now I have to wait again for a repairman. I called Home Depot where I purchased it from and they said I have to deal with LG. I am not a happy customer and I think LG should be replacing my fridge and refunding my food costs. I am now a week w b mg sf banging.

Purchased 28 cu ft. fridge (LFSX29766S) 12/15. Worked for great 2 1/2 years and quit. Told compressor was bad. Compressor was covered but labor was $550 plus 4+ days to get one shipped in. Our other option was to buy compressor @ $250 and get it installed next day. I figured $900 and no idea how long it would last wasnt an option. Bought a new one, not an LG. And I will never purchase anything with LG on the product.

If you have children or animals you do not want this oven in your house. DO Not leave any items on the stove top because the knobs are so sensitive you will start a fire. They need to recall and fix this issue before a fire from this stove/oven causes deaths.

I purchased LG washer and dryer, the best in STEAM technology and thought I did a good deal. While we dont know yet if the washer and dryer perform well or not, we were shocked the first time we used the washer today to hear a lot of banging. We discovered the water tap was not open. Then when the washing was ready, it was wrinkled so we suspected the rinsing was done with warm water!! And that was true; the techs from SEARS installed the hoses wrongly. I give the SEARS install team 2 stars, thats it.Then, I called LG Customer support to complain about SEARS and they basically dont care. During the call, I discovered that the one who answered, with very lousy English, was a total ignorant and didnt know anything about a thing. It took many minutes of waiting time to get answer on what are the benefits of registering a product on the LG website, compared to not registering it..

We bought an LG freezer on the bottom french door refrigerator a couple of years ago. One year later, the computer board went out. It wasnt in the warranty. We had to pay for a new computer board. We had to spend a great deal of money for ice in the ice chest to keep things from spoiling. That went on for 3 weeks until the new board arrived. The LG stopped working again soon after. We had to buy a new one, this time, a Maytag. It was bought Oct. 28 and today, the freezer stopped working. Now it has started up again. Very strange. We had given our 15 year old Whirlpool refrigerator to our daughter when we bought the LG and that old Whirlpool is still working like a charm. Thats because it has no computer board on the back! Why on earth do name brand companies compromise their name by manufacturing these inferior products now and use a computer board? They take no pride in their name. Their refrigerators are made in Korea, not the US, and are made to be disposable. Never mind the expense to the consumer. Can anyone tell me why there has to be computer boards to run a refrigerator? They are never reliable. I would love to bring a class action lawsuit to manufacturers of these appliances and computer boards, but dont know where to start. I am sure everything is made in Korea. Shame on all those manufacturers!

I asked the supervisor to send the compressor to me, but instead they want to send the compressor to their technician and the technician must come to my house. I had an experience with the technician about 2 weeks ago and the technician wanted to charge me over $400 for a problem that may not be the problem, and would charge me to fix other problems that might be the problem. Ripoff. Also, when the technician was at my house, he and the office said one thing to me but a different story to LG. I am in my 3rd week without a fridge. I spend money on ice, outside food and cold drinks.

We bought LG True balance WT4801CW washing machine and matching dryer. $1600.00, on sale on Black Friday 2011, at Home Depot for the set. I hate it. The water doesnt even cover the clothes. I thought something might be wrong with it so I looked in the book and it says it does not fill to cover the clothes, STUPID. I knew it really sucked when I put in a sheet that my grandbaby had touched with powdered sugar on his hands. I even put the washer on extra rinse. I pulled out the sheets and the powdered sugar was still there and DRY. Now the cold water is leaking into the tub even when the washer is off. We have to turn off the cold water completely in between loads. If you forget to remove your clothes as soon as the cycle finishes it will fill with cold water so you have to rewash or at least rinse and spin as there is no spin only option to remove the water. I called LG, they gave me a number to the service repair. I called them, they dont have a repair center. You have to pay them $75.00 to come to your house then they start the billing. I will purchase another washer as I am not putting in any more money into this piece of junk. We own lots of other LG products including cell phones and love them but LG needs to stay away from large appliances as we can all see they SUCK.

I have an LG front load. It does not have an option to add more water and there is never any extra water in it other than what is on the clothes. As a result I have to wet the clothes down before I start the cycle and do a “rinse and spin” at the end of a full wash as the “extra rinse” does not utilize enough water to justify the electricity being used but the rinse and spin seems to have residual water in the drum. Even with minimal soap and fabric softener or using vinegar in the mid cycle the clothes still come out with a chemical smell to them. Yes I clean the machine regularly as it also has a problem with getting smelly quickly. Had to replace the sensor that creates the spin at year 6 but DIY as this is such a common problem and instructions found easily on the internet.

The refrigerator was also on sale for a great price. I would recommend this product to friends and family. It had most of the features I was looking for. I have been very happy with all the features of this product and cannot think of any thing that I would change or add. LG products are very well made. LG made us buy the extended warranty last year when our fridge needed service, something that would cover any necessary repairs in the future as they recommended. Now, our fridge needs service again but LG is not committing to any repair. Instead they want to refund us what we paid for the warranty minus $100 (which $298), even though it says in the contract that they would reimburse the value of the fridge if the repair to the unit is deemed not cost effective. I bought an LG fridge (LSC27914ST/00) at Sears. Just after the warranty expired (one year after purchase), the ice-maker started dumping the ice tray to the box and then pouring the water straight to the box and then to the kitchens floor. Of course, the water situation repeats until somebody realizes and turns the ice-maker off. I bought the whole LG kitchen appliances set for my $20000 new remodeled kitchen 11/2018. By 9/2019, 10 months later, my stovetop looked white from decoloration. I called, they send someone and at 10 months, they called it wear and tear, say WHAT?. My last stove last me 12 yrs and still had a perfect black top. Under warranty, they did not change it. So I ended with a brand new kitchen and all discolored new stove. On 03/2020, 16 months from purchased, the double top burner stopped working and now I am going to have to pay for the repair of the burner, either keep my cooktop all whitish or replace it on 18 months $800 new!!!! LG range. I might just have to kicked it to the curb, count my losses, cry a little and buy AMERICAN. Customer services just keep saying I didnt buy the 5 year warranty. Updated on 01/08/2019: After two failures and unsuccessful repairs, Asurion sent another repair company over. The repairman walked into the house and said I know what the problem is already as he heard the compressor groaning in the kitchen. After conferring with his boss over the phone, I was informed that they no longer will do repairs on LG products because LG does not pay their invoice. So not only does Home Depot continue to sell this junk, but the repair shops that would handle the extended warranty repairs will not work on LG. A couple of weeks later, Asurion (out of the blue) called and said that a reimbursement check was being sent. Could that be due to the class action lawsuit recently filed nationwide against LG?? So we got the check, disposed of the LG, and bought a KitchenAid that sits quietly in the kitchen, keeping things cool and keeping us composed. OH, and never a word from LG through any of this business.Original Review: Two Compressors in Two Months...LG is junk: We purchased this LG from Home Depot in December of 2016. It had great features, was very attractive, and large capacity. In November, 2017 we returned home to find the kitchen flooded and the fridge was warm. We called the Home Depot warranty company and a repairman came out two days later. They didnt have local repairmen so he came from 60 miles away btw. He said it was the compressor and he said he replaces LG compressors on a regular basis. Ultimately it took him 3 weeks to obtain one due to LG being out of stock on compressors. He installed it and the warranty company gave us a food reimbursement check. Two days later, the same thing happened! Spoiled food. Flood. Repairman showed up again and repeated the slow ordering process. Home Depot sent over a small dorm fridge just in time for Thanksgiving. Now the compressor is again making noises. LG is totally unresponsive to this; they would rather the repairmen make the repairs for them, that they are too cheap to do upon manufacture.

I wished that I could have read this blog before I purchased my LG refrigerator. I purchased my refrigerator 4 years ago and have had the fuse blown twice, ruining all the contents of my refrigerator. The servicemans fix was using a paperclip to bypass the fuse and order me a new board, which would cost $400 (if I didnt have warranty). He explained that on this refrigerator, the fuse was located on the main circuit board and when the little fuse blows, you have to replace the whole board, which costs around $400.00, and it takes awhile to obtain. Two years almost to that day, my refrigerator went out again due to the same issue. I had extended warranty through Home Depot. It took a week to get a serviceman to my home, to hear that the main fix is to by-pass the fuse with a paperclip or some wire. I was told that LG is aware of the poor design and hasnt made any changes to keep this problem from occurring again. I lost another refrigerator full of food and some expensive medications to hear the paper clip is the answer again! I told the service repair that I wanted a new board ordered and placed on the back of this expensive refrigerator to hear him say that it is a temporary fix. LG has an issue with their product, people have contacted them, and they seem not to care. I contacted via Live Chat to hear, I am sorry for your inconvenience and had enough of that pre-typed message and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor said that there was nothing they could do but would pass my complaint on to a claims review dept. and that they may or may not contact me to help resolve the issue. I asked for a phone number to contact LG and was told by John (the supervisor) that he did not have a number for me to talk with someone about my issue. This was all that I needed to hear from someone online. It seems that LG hides behind their Live Chat personnel and are not interested in addressing their issues. Home Depot should be embarrassed to carry their products. We teach our children to make their wrongs right. I guess LG missed out on that lesson!

LG REFRIGERATOR AND ICE MAKER has been one of the worst experiences of my 63 years. It looks nice but try getting anything fixed or working period. I purchased 4 LG appliances with a home remodeling project. We moved into our house in late April. Last week, we cooked a pizza in the top oven. As with pizza sometimes, the cheese melted over the edge of the pizza stone onto the bottom of the oven. No biggie - it has a self-clean feature. When the pizza was done, I immediately set it to self-clean since it was already heated. It took 3 hours and heated my house to 80 degrees (note to self, do not self-clean an oven when its 95 degrees outside). The next morning I opened the oven to put my racks back in and to my surprise, all the self-cleaning feature had done was to BAKE the melted cheese even harder onto the surface. I had to take out (unscrew) the bottom tray and clean it with oven cleaner and 409. Its still not perfect. Very disappointed.

In both repairs the problem became worse, meaning other problems occurred besides still having the original issue. After the technician left the second time telling us he would call back when he had new parts, I decided to call Home Depot; and to make a long story short, LG called two days later and said they would deliver a new range. We received the new range on Dec. 22, 2012. And today, January 8, 2013, after having used the oven, we are unable to turn the oven off. The only way to turn it off is to pull the range from the wall and unplug it. My next call very shortly will be to Home Depot and demand they take this range; and I want it replaced with another range, but not an LG. I dont know where this range is made, but I will guess its China or the parts are made in China. And once again, China screws the American consumer.

We bought our second LG. The first a top load steam washer and now a front loader. We bought it in 2014. And it has practically ruined our towels. Regardless of how many times I clean it with the clean option or wipe it down, it breeds mold and mildew. All of our towels stink like mold. There is nothing worse than getting out of the shower and drying off with a freshly laundered plush cotton towel and have it REEK of mold. Its disgusting. This model isnt covered in their recall, but $35 doesnt even touch what I paid for my towels. Their QC department needs to work with their engineering department and offer a fix to this issue for consumers.

Refrigerator has been defective since purchase. Have now owned the above refrigerator for 5 years. It was purchased brand new from Home Depot. During this time, the compressor has been replaced 4 times. The Evaporator has been replaced. The Condenser has been replaced. They think the control board may not be working either. Additionally, 4 times, during these various replacements, it has stopped cooling within two days of the parts replacement, requiring another tech to make a service call and charge the Freon. In summary, I have been without a refrigerator for a total of 73 days. I have lost 5 refrigerators full of food due to spoilage and missed over 45 hours of work waiting for a tech. Despite numerous technicians stating that it needed to be replaced, LG has not acted on their advice. Stay away from LG refrigerators!

I really like this washer except sometimes I could not wash a lightweight quilt. The spin cycle would stay on 6 and it was too heavy for the washer to handle. And once the rubber that went around the inside of the machine came off and water spilled out all over the place and the repairman said that happened often.

LG True Balance Washer - I agree with every negative review I have read. Bought this expensive laundry set that doesnt get clothes clean, throws itself off balance no matter how large or small the load is. Takes forever to do a few small loads and the clothes come out spotty (white clothes w/ detergent stains). I also bought the matching dryer that takes several tries to get the clothes dry. Dont use the high heat or your clothes stink. Very unhappy. Wish they would trade them out with something that works.

After using my hand me down washer that was 23 years old, we decided to purchase a brand new LG front loader. We purchased it at a Best Buy with the matching dryer in October 2011. Now February 2012, I had to have a service technician come out to repair the washer. When the washer tried to turn clockwise, it made a grinding sound not be able to spin. It did spin counterclockwise. Of course, the warranty ended three and a half months prior to this problem. The technician told me he reconnected the bolt on the inside and it should be good for a few days. He told me that he assumed that I washed large loads. Why wouldnt I wash large loads? That is why I bought a large capacity washer. Stupid assumption! Anyway, he told me it would cost $350 to replace and repair the part. As for it lasting a few more days, I put in a load of three pairs of socks and one t-shirt. It still grinds! So much for a few days. Also, Mr. technician, is three pairs of socks and one t-shirt a large load to you?

DRN #**. I have an offer for refund of the defective refrigerator but they dont answer my calls, my txts and my emails. This claim started Feb 5 2021 when my refrigerator stopped working for the second time in less than two years. 3 companies certified it could not be repaired, one of them came 6 times in the middle of a pandemia (and broke a tile in my kitchen with their equipment). 2 months without refrigerator buying ice for a cooler with small children in the house and me being diabetic without being able to follow my diet. Around 100 hours in the phone taken from my work time. I have spoken to at least 30 people from LGE.... I sent sticker with serial number, proof of purchase, address, email.... Not even one call back from LGE and always expecting an email back before 72 hours. Multiple DRNs that got cancelled without even being notified. What kind of customer support is this?

I thought I had done my research on what appeared to be a well-designed product. I have had my LG French Door Fridge 26 months, with no less than 14 repair issues, including the right-hand door gasket (four times), and the right-hand freezer door bracket (twice). We are a busy family with three teenage boys, but we keep a spotless kitchen and are not hard on our appliances. The fridge appeared well-designed and fit our tight kitchen, but it has been problematic from day one.The new models seem to address the issues I have had, but LG has passed the buck after year one to the extended warranty company. Warranty service through private contractors has been mainly poor. Response from Home Depot has been mediocre, until I asked for a truck to return the fridge, or said I would drop it in their parking lot myself. I looked at our old fridge to see what broke, and this one seemed to have been built much better, but what a mess. Buy from a private appliance dealer with a service team. This model was available at numerous locations, large and small. Any brand you buy will only be as good as those who back it.

We only use stainless steel cleaner and are not able to remove the marks as it appears the finish is coming off. One of the marks on the handle is the size of a quarter. LG is unable to help as its a cosmetic issue. Is anyone having problems with the finish on their dishwasher? Wed like to determine whats causing the problem to avoid further marks. We purchased our refrigerator in Dec 2018, and it decided to quit on us this week; suspect it is the compressor. We called LG 2 days ago and finally got a return call from the repair company stating they can’t get to us until June 1st. LG only has 1 company in the entire area of Phoenix that does the repairs. How insane is that!So now, all of the freezer and fridge food we purchased to hold us off during this stay at home crisis is spoiling and thawing - into the garbage it goes. LG’s solution is to give us a $200 allowance to buy a mini fridge until the repair can be made. What’s up with that? That won’t cover the dollar amount for the food we have in the fridge/freezer and the mini fridge certainly won’t be able to store all that we have in the fridge/freezer. Then we’ll have the hassle of getting rid of a mini fridge after the refrigerator is fixed. There is a class action lawsuit. I guess LG figures what’s the point of fixing fridges quickly or compensating folks for spoiled food when they’ll just have to pay out later...probably less to the consumers, right? **

It had a leaking Tromm front loader. This ruined my 180 sq. ft. of ash hardwood flooring costing approximately $2000.00. After the floor was replaced and a pan placed under the machine, I have noticed that it fills up about once a week. This leak is coming from the dispenser tray! I noticed water and soap residue on the inside of the front panel that had also caused the door hinge to start rusting. After closer inspection of the dispenser during operation, I can see water hitting the angled section of the tray and running over the side. LG said a repair tech would have to fix this, but without a newly designed part, it will just do the same thing again. This is not caused by too much soap as some might suggest because it does this with or without adding soap! The only solution I see is to buy another brand after spending over $1000.00 a year for a poorly designed product.

Horrible experience! Bought Range less than eight months ago. The oven stopped working after three months of having the Electric Range. The tech was very professional, but he had to come three more times and change the motherboard. I was finally done with this range since the oven stopped working every three months. After the third visit, I requested a refund, and the company wanted an original receipt and was just horrible customer service, and I was told that process could take 14 days. I was told without a receipt I wouldnt get a refund for their defective item. I am glad I had a receipt, but the customer service was so horrible went it came down to the refund process. Never will I buy another item from LG, considering how unreasonable they are with the whole process. Also, I have never purchased a range that needed repairs 3 times in the first eight months of purchased. NOT IMPRESSED....

New assembly was ordered and necessary repairs made. Next, I noticed in a certain angle approaching the refrigerator there appeared what looked like a dent in the door. Upon examining more closely, the problem is a imperfection in the metal which gives such an appearance. Extremely annoying. Service Tech once again dispatched and saw what I saw and said the door would be replaced for there was a imperfection in the metal giving the appearance of a dent. Yesterday he calls and says LG would not be replacing the door for this was cosmetic. They said I could buy a replacement door. What a joke! We purchased an LG fridge 3 years ago based on their advertising saying that their lifespan is at least 20 years, that along with their innovative features was the reason why we ended up buying it... Fast forward, right after it broke the 3-year mark it just stopped cooling so one day we woke up to a pool of water all over the kitchen and we found out that EVERYTHING on the freezer was fully thawed, and this happened just right after we went to do the groceries so the whole fridge was FULLY stocked with food... We had to throw away most of our food, hundreds of dollars wasted... And the worst just happen after this...We found out that this is a common issue with LG fridges and that their technicians are taking weeks, sometimes months to come repair your fridge, what??!! What are we supposed to do now? To wait blindly for weeks or even months for them to come repair it? To go out and eat EVERY SINGLE DAY 3 times? To spend thousands of dollars by doing that? And not to mention that we are in the middle of a Pandemic and that we have toddlers?? Not only LG products are this bad but their service towards honoring their warranty is bad as bad can be... Their customer support phone line NEVER answers your call so you are stuck in oblivion with a dead fridge and nobody to take responsibility of repairing it asap... We are adding ourselves to the class action suit against LG now...

Purchased this new LG LFX31925ST for $3500 from BestBuy July 2013 and now 14 months later the freezer and fridge compartments are warm and the unit sounds like a garbage disposal. Called BestBuy. They said they have no Geek Squad service in my area 15 mile from both Bestbuy locations in my upstate NY location. So contacted LG customer service several times to get a repair for this unit. Unplugged the Refrigerator for 12 hours, plug back in and it was quiet and cooling till 10 hours later when the noise is back but seems to be still cooling. Did a bunch of troubleshooting over the phone with no definitive solution. Called back this morning to LG to explain to them the current situation and requested a service call. Mentioned to them that the service center listed on their repair website did not return any of my 3 phone calls yesterday. So they gave me another service center that they were going to electronically dispatch. This was several hours ago now and no contact from them. Dont buy LG Appliances!

Thousands of dollars in damage! We purchased LG model lfx25971sb with french doors and an external ice delivery system. The initial problems, within a week of delivery, were with the ice maker that was constantly messing up, leaking, not working. The list of problems with the ice dispenser are numerous. The next issue came in about 11 months when I noticed that the cabinet next to the unit was showing cracks in the finish. These are maple. Perplexed, I pulled the unit out and found that a small pin-hole had burst on the water line leading up to the dreaded ice maker. The hardwood floor underneath was stained and buckling so the leak had been there for awhile. With both of these service issues, I got horrible customer service from LG. With regard to the water line needing repair, my cost. Then on Sunday, while walking across my kitchen floor, I nearly tripped over the buckled wood floor at least 5 feet from the unit. Now, it was gushing water from underneath! The service guy that showed up today said a valve blew out and that it is not covered by the warranty. This wreck of a machine has ruined my kitchen floor and the poor excuse for a company will not do a thing about it. Repair bill around $180; floor and cabinet repair, thousands. I also purchased a washer/dryer set. It took four months to get the washer working. This time they finally owned up to the problem and replaced a part but four months before, it never worked.

It started when we got back from a family vacation in mid July 2018. We have owned our LG refrigerator for 3 years and we are a family of 7. Upon our return from vacation, we went grocery shopping. The very next day our refrigerator failed and all of our food was spoiled. We had spent hundreds of dollars at Costco and other grocery stores. Home Depot Protection Plan sent out a company to diagnose the issue. Once they diagnosed the problem, they said they couldnt fix our refrigerator. We had to make another appointment but this time with an LG specialist, which took another week to schedule. When they showed up we expected them to fix our fridge, but instead they had to diagnose and said they could not go off the previous companys diagnoses. Although, both companies said the refrigerators compressor went out. We were then told the part was on back order due to these refrigerators breaking down from LG. The part didnt come in until September. Once the new compressor was installed we were assured within 48 hours we could use it again. Again we went shopping and and lost all of our food again. Once we got the company back out, they said it was a faulty compressor and they would have to order us a new one.We have now had 2 food loss claims and 2 compressors replaced. Again, being assured the fridge would work, we bought more food. This time we realized the fridge was making weird noises and the freezer was not keeping our food frozen. After several more calls and several more service calls, our freezer is still not working properly 9 months later. Each time a new guy shows up telling us something new as to why this was happening. We have complied with everything they have asked us to do. We now have our fridge pulled out a foot away from the wall, which is a complete eye sore, and it is still not working properly. We have had over 9 calls to the Home Depot Protection Plan company for the same issue and they are still not calling it a lemon! We recently had another appointment on March 15th, 2019 for a final diagnosis, and the company never showed up! We are throwing away so much food which is a waste of our time and money. My family and I are scared to buy a lot of food because we are afraid the LG refrigerator is going to break down again. Our plan states after 2 calls for the same issue it is considered a lemon and it would be a Buy Out. We have had enough of this run around!

It was a beautiful range in the store however, once it was in my home, the hell began. I purchased the LRE3075 stainless steel convection range at the Boynton Beach Home Depot on November 12, 2009 and got the extended warranty.Eight months in, the front large burner melted then began melting the underside of the cook top. I got it replaced under LG warranty. Another 6 months in, the same thing happened again, only this time the burner was on and could not be turned off. I had to plug the range out for it to go off. The top and the circuit board were replaced. On February 12, 2012, the same exact burner came on by itself destroying dinner. The saving grace was the smoke detector. Once again, the control panel did not respond. I had to turn of the breaker to the stove.Even after the stove cooled down and the breaker was turned on, the control panel did not respond. I am totally scared for my familys safety with this stove. It finally responded after several attempts. I have to turn off the breaker after each use just as a precaution. What about the warranty, you ask? Talk about the royal runaround. LG denies there is a problem with the stove and wont replace the it. Home Depot wont take it back since LG should be the one who covers it.The extended warranty company will only replace the circuit board but the glass top is at LG s discretion. Today is March 15, 2012 and the stove still has not been repaired as yet even with the extended warranty. The LG dishwasher purchased at the same time has had the motor replaced because it burnt out. I would not recommend any LG product my worst enemy. I will be purchasing new stove ASAP. Needless to say, it will not be LG.

On 4/14 I contacted LG Direct Service regarding my refrigerator not cooling. The refrigerator was no longer under warranty so they suggested some local service providers. At this point the service rep offer me a service contract for the unit, explaining that I would have a 60 day service contract for a cost of $365.04 and they would send a technician out to fix the unit on 4/17 between 8:00 am and 12:00. On 4/17 the technician was a no show. I contacted LG Direct Service regarding the matter. That had no answer for me and kept referring me to Assurance, who apparently is a third party to actually held the service contract that I thought I got from LG Direct Services. This whole time I had been dealing directly with LG as implied by the name. In any event, Assurance informed me that he was only service provider in my area, and that they would send another request to him. So I was told now that the technician would be arriving between 8-12:00 on 4/19. LG Provided me with the number of the provider so I attempted to contact him on 4/18 in an effort to confirm the appointment. After numerous attempts with no answer other than a recording with a full mailbox, I contacted LG Direct Service again. I explained that I could not contact the provider and needed to have this appointment confirmed. They attempted to contact the provider but had the same response that I did. After 2 hours of mostly being on hold listen to a recording tell me over and over again that they know how valuable my time is, I am informed that the guy will not be coming tomorrow. He rejected the request for the service. It turns out he rejected the first request for service as well. So the appointment that LG Direct Service told me I had, never even existed. No phone call or e-mail to let me know. So I took off of work for no reason. Had I not called on 4/18, the same thing would have happened. Now LG just keeps trying to pass the buck onto Assurance. LG tells me that the technician that didnt show is the only one they have in my area even though they had already given me the names of three other service providers. The fact is he is the only one that is on the Assurance list of providers. As a result they now say they can no longer repair my refrigerator. So instead of paying $365.04 for the repair it is now going to cost $900. LG totally misrepresented the service contract of actually being an LG product. I have repeatedly asked LG to stand by the contract they sold me and get another authorized repairman to fix it. They have gone so far as to tell me that they dont have anyone who can make the repair in my area. It should be against the law to sell you a product under the representation that it is their product and not a third partys. The only people I spoke with and was invoiced by was LG Direct Service and they should have to make do on the contract and get my refrigerator fixed and not just offer to cancel the contract and return my money and then have to pay more to someone else. Just for the fact that between time off of work and the 4 hrs plus I have spent on the phone with them should be enough to make them want to do right by the customer.

When I mentioned what is printed on the glass door of the MW oven, they said I need to refer to the operations a manual that comes with the MW oven to get full details of the 10-year warranty and its my faulty as I have not read the operations manual before making the purchase. As per the advice received from the LG Australia Customer Services, LG EXPECTS ALL CUSTOMERS TO READ THE OPERATIONS MANUAL OF ANY LG APPLIANCE prior to buying them as what is written in the operations manual could be a clear contradiction of what is printed on the appliance. This is misleading the customers who trust whats written on the appliance to be accurate as per how it is written on the appliance. BE CAREFUL with this dodgy company, their dodgy products and customer service! It is not possible for anyone to read the operations manual of a product at a shop before you purchase it. I am not sure how these companies were allowed to operate in this kind of dodgy manner.

I purchased an LG washing machine on November 26, 2011. The technician from LG came and put it to function by November 28, 2011. On my 1st use on December 4, 2011, I was shocked to discover a considerable leakage of water underneath the washing machine. I called for repair. First, they adjoined a torn part, then on the second call, they changed the host with leakage with another one. I discovered later in early January 2012 that some considerable number of clothes came out completely dry without being washed. I called for repair. The technician came and said that he cleared something that blocked the way for water passage. I discovered that Im still suffering of the same problem. I sat in front of the washing machine to watch it, then I found that no water was visible from the window and clothes came out with detergents. They came and changed the water balance. Frankly speaking, I lost count of how many times they would come and make repairs in a defective machine that doesnt function.I simply need the value of paid money. I need them to change the defective machine with another one thats functioning well, as I have lost patience with them over the last 6 months. I care about the image of the company, knowing that I also have other LG appliances at home, and I dont want to lose confidence in LG as a brand name. Please, if you are not concerned with my complaint, direct me to the one in charge to resolve my problem. Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.

My husband bought this horrible piece of crap without me. We had it a couple of months when it started to fail. Getting stuck on spin cycle and the clothes were SOAKED. Tech came in and said we have to put it on BULK (never had this problem with other machines). So, he cleared it, and worked on the drain motor. A couple months later (while using bulk setting), the machine did the same thing. In the year and a half since we bought it, it had done this about 25 times. Second time we had a tech come out... tried to tell us the same thing. This item is faulty. Just found out a friend with a front load LG is having the same issue. Never buying an LG again.

COMPRESSOR FAIL - MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I bought an overpriced LG refrigerator ($2500) in June, 2017 at Home Depot. It was broken by JULY 2019. Tough luck for me with no income and late stage cancer...it broke two weeks after the two year warranty expired. The part might be replaced by LG, but I am stuck with the cost and trouble of trying to find a knowledgeable technician. In my area (Raleigh) NO technician familiar with LG will work on them anymore because of these manufacturer defects! The LG rep set up an appointment with a technician - I had to wait over a week, AND they failed to show. I want to join the lawsuit. I get $12/week food stamps and lost all my carefully preserved and frozen food. There is NO WAY I can afford to pay a service tech for this and expected failures of other parts in the future. Watch LG’s “canned” response. They will do nothing.

I purchased the LG WT5101HW Wave Series ultra large capacity high efficiency top load washer with LED display, ColdWash technology, 1100 RPM, energy star compliant on January 1, 2011 after spending hours on Consumer Reports looking for the best machine. I purchased the machine from Appliance Connection and even though they encouraged me to purchase the extended warranty, I did not. I now have an EO error that will not go away. I checked on the LG website and the only remedy was to remove the hose and look for blockages and to check the filter. I did check the hose, there was no kinking and no blockage. There is no filter in the drain line, the only filters are in the hot and cold water supply lines which have nothing to do with water draining from the machine. The only way to get the machine to drain is to have the line lower than the tub, which is not feasible because I do not want the dirty water draining on the floor or for that matter, anywhere other than the drain line. When the error occurred, the machine had a load of towels and we had to wring the towels out and remove the water manually by dipping it out with a small bucket. This took a great deal of time and energy. The LG representative told me that I need a service call and the company that performs the maintenance is 1.5 hours from where I live and cannot respond until Friday between 8 and noon. This is very frustrating to have an issue that may or may not be corrected before the weekend because the technician may or may not have the parts. I also checked the company that is to respond to the service call and they have had several negative comments from former customers. I have now read the comments on this site and am apprehensive as to whether I will have a satisfactory outcome. I am also contacting Consumer Reports since I relied on their evaluation of this washer. I also purchased a dryer and I did get a 4-year extended warranty, which I will probably need. I had a Maytag washer that is now being used by my son and his college roommates. I may ask for it back!

Bought LG french door refrigerator one year ago and died on me 2 days ago. Called LG customer service and asked to come out asap but they scheduled me 2 days after. More than half of my foods worth $300 had to be thrown away. I live in Valencia weather over 105 degrees and was very frustrated had to wait for them at this weather. They schedule me on time frame from 10-5 pm to wait for them. Still waiting and cant get out of the house all day since it was a emergency matter of food being melted and rotten. I called local tech to see what is wrong and charged me $70. When I called LG support to reimburse money I had to spend they said they cannot give money back. I was very disappointed how they deal with issue. This is brand new LG refrigerator paid $2700 and main compressor dies in a year doesnt make sense whatsoever. I will not be buying LG Appliance anymore.

I dont understand how your company can call it fixed. I am very disappointed with your company and unless I get resolution to this problem, I will be going to the Attorney General in NYS. I plan also to spread the word regarding the lack of customer satisfaction I received from your company. This is awful to do to customers who made good money for a product. My wife and I purchased a new 30 cu.ft LG French door refrigerator Feb.15th 2015. Within 6 months we had a defrosting problem, service man came out. A few months later same problem except worse. MELTED AND SPOILAGE. Service man came out. Kept replacing the same part. Now I must have LG EXTENDED WARRANTY, A LG CONTRACTED service man came out, he was saying NO its a compressor. He came out again. HE TOLD THEM ITS A COMPRESSOR. They thought they (LG) knew better. Finally a LG Co. Repair man came out, with a compressor. Problem solved. Each time I called for service IT WAS 2 WEEKS before it was put in, even though it was not right. The last time it was 3 weeks but problem solved. I had to purchase another refrigerator, NOT A LG. It is performing great. A GE, I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THIS LG for about 12 WEEKS because of being ordered and BEING WRONG part. The customer service IS SO BAD. Then, the last time LG service came out, I was charged $395 because the ext. warranty had expired. My purchase date from SPENCERS APPL. Feb.15th 2015, $2750.

I saw the LG refrigerator on the store and it was a good size for this particular model. My parents have LG as well. So, I ordered it online and so far, I like the size of it. It has two different store options, but it’s a big room. Also, I dont like the smart inverter technology that it has. It turns off a lot more than it’s supposed to, so the temperature goes up and the cycling of the temperature is probably more than it’s supposed to. The refrigerator goes warm inside and the cooling kind of cycles on and off to save energy. But then, it goes too warm before it cuts off to go back to cold.

Purchased a BRAND NEW Kenmore Elite 2014. Within 6 months, had a frozen drain which froze up the food in the refrigerator part. It was under warranty, so fixed without cost. I lost food though. In Jan 2019 the evaporator, compressor and dryer broke!! It would have cost close to 1,000.00 to fix, so I bought a service contract with Sears, monthly cost of 50.00 to cover all the new appliances I had purchased from Sears. It still cost 99.00 for the diagnostic. I lost food again!!! Now July 10, 2019 the evaporator broke again, not even 7 months old and again I LOST FOOD!!! LRG 3081ST gas stove - My first problem was that Best Buy never warned me that to convert this stove to propane was going to cost close to $300.00. The next problem was as soon as I started to use the product, the fan in the convection oven does not work most of the time, the controls are very difficult to use and very confusing, one of the burners does not work! After contacting Best Buy they told me I had to call LG, which I did. After many tries and disconnected calls I finally reached a person and he reluctantly set up an appointment with a local repair shop, and although she agreed the fan should work better but after calling LG they said it was normal and there was nothing she could do. But they did agree it probably should have a new burner but that is still on order. The stove is basically a cheap POS. I would not recommend anyone to buy this model.

May 2014 purchased brand new LG stove model number lre3083st. Barely used, went to use self cleaning before Thanksgiving. Stove quit working the entire unit top/bottom. Stove would not unlock. I had to fight with LG to get someone down here to fix the product. A repair company finally came. He explained that it had became so hot that it burnt the back of the unit melting the wires. He said he replaced it. I did not attempt to used the method again until this year in July 2015. There are two self cleaning methods on the stove and I was going to use the one that is a shorter cleaning. When I attempted to use it, I realized it did not work. I immediately contacted LG. They stated they would give me a 30 day warranty extension and have someone come out. I waited and a repair service called. They said they needed to contact LG and would contact me back. They never did. Then LG called, left message on August 4 stating that the repair shop would be in touch to fix my stove and if I did not hear from them to call them back. I called, left messages and they never returned my calls. I then called LG today and spoke with a Lyn and explained my situation. She then informed me that the 30 days were up and that it wasnt the same issue and I would have to pay for it. I was on the phone with her for 40 min explaining and defending the fact that this was the same issue and that their company had already made arrangements to fix this. She finally said she would contact the service repair. I told her I wanted to talk to manager. She transferred me to an Adrianne who repeated the same thing stating that the 30 days were up because I trusted that they would send someone out. After telling her I was going to report this she said she could either contact the repair company or I would have to send receipt to her so that she could contact another repair shop. I explained I did not understand why I would have to do that when they already have all my information. She gave me her email address and fax to send the receipt to. Fax ** and **. I have my statement where I purchased the stove and thought I had receipt but unfortunately I may have to wait 30 to 90 day for Lowes to send me receipt. This is ridiculous. I was not required the first time and they have all my info and they didnt require it the second time but now I need it. Its just another tactic so they dont have to stand by and fix their product. LG is not standing by their products and the people they have working for them are not dependable. Now I have a stove that does not function properly.

Fairly new front loader, LG wm2801hwa, opened its door mid-cycle. I had a flooded kitchen and laundry room. When it was discovered, the machine was observed to continuously flooding water out of its (then open) front door. The water valves had to be closed and the machine had to be unplugged. LG was contacted directly and a service man was sent out. The D.G. Appliance representative indicated that the machine had an assortment of problems, including the main controller. The machine even flooded the kitchen and laundry room again, as the payment for the service call was being processed, for he left the valves on after his inspection.I consider this machine new since it was purchesed about a year and a half ago. I expected LG to step up to the plate here and provide a reasonable response. The door on a front loader should never open like that. Much property damage was avoided only by luck in discovering the flood in time, and diverting the water away from wood and carpeted areas. I followed up with D.G. later that afternoon and learned that they didnt bother reporting the problem to LG. I called LG (again) and found no relief, since the machine was out of warranty.

As others have mentioned, the plastic latches at the top of the doors broke, and then the latches for the tilt out vegetable drawer fronts broke, and then the slides on the drawers broke, and the hardware that supports the bottom shelf broke - etc. The whole interior is made of parts too flimsy to last for the useful life of a refrigerator. Then the front door water dispenser stopped working, and just recently the whole front display went out and the main compartment lost temperature control and started freezing everything. Im a handy guy (and an electronics engineer), so I ordered and replaced the main board and then the display board, as they were the obvious failure points. That didnt fix the problem, so I dug in deeper. It turns out that the wires inside the front left door that go up through the hinge have broken. I could deal with that if the failure was at an accessible point (at the hinge one would expect), but I eventually figured out that the wires have broken somewhere inside the door. The wires are apparently molded into the door and cannot be replaced, so I have a $2,000+ refrigerator crippled by a bad 10-cent piece of wire and an astonishingly stupid design that makes that wire part of a $400 door assembly.Like I said, I am a handy guy, so I routed a very thin and not too ugly replacement wire on the exterior of the door to replace the broken wire inside the door, and for now the fridge is back in business. Ill join the many posters in this blog who will steer clear of all LG appliances in the future.
