Ive had this LG model LMV1683SW microwave under 2 years, and Im tearing it out of my kitchen and throwing it out. First, the turntable started making this awful rumble. LG said its crumbs in the track. The track was clean, but I cleaned it anyway. Still rumbled. Then sparks and small flames started shooting out of a vent hole near one of the shelf hooks. I removed the metal shelf thinking that was the issue, but it was not. It happened again, and this time I unplugged the unit, and Im removing it from my wall. LG says their initials stand for Lifes Good. Should be Looking Grievous.

Updated on 08/21/2019: This is an update to my previous post about my 3 year old LG refrigerator. LG tech was great but could not fix my refrigerator. He replaced the compressor and left saying it will take some time to cool. The next day it was hotter than before inside. I called him and he came back next day to find a clog and a broken pipe. He had me send the original receipt. He submitted it to deem the fridge unable to be fixed and needing replacement.Apparently, the entire process can take up to two weeks... so I am to go without a fridge for that long. I purchased a mini fridge, but I’m sure LG will not be reimbursing me for that either. As well, LG ONLY reimburses you what they deem the refrigerator is now worth, since it is 3 years old. Yet, I have seen statements by LG in warranties and online that are misleading about this “replacement”.Lastly, I have a dead, large refrigerator sitting here and no information on LG picking this up. Even if I wanted to go buy a replacement prior to LG getting through their long approval process AFTER the tech explained it all, I can’t!!! I am single and have no way to remove it. LG - You owe me the money that I spent on this refrigerator just 3 years ago, plus the cost of the mini fridge I had to buy. And you need to remove this worthless fridge this week! I have never had so many issues with a refrigerator (even 10yrs old), much less all of the trouble I’m having to go through for this lemon product I was sold!Original review: It seems my refrigerator will fall under the same bucket of consumers that have started the class action lawsuit! I bought the LG Side by Side Refrigerator in Stainless Steel in May of 2016. It has suddenly just stopped cooling. Opened my freezer to find melted food all over and had to throw out hundreds of dollars of food from the freezer and fridge!Contacted LG on Saturday and they said I only have warranty to replace for 1 yr. Some parts are warrantied for 5 yrs and some 13, though. The rep was scripted and seemed annoyed if I asked any questions about best temperature, etc. So, not a great experience with their customer support after their appliance fails after only 3 yrs! She did give me a “courtesy” one-time free service call. But, who knows how much it will cost in the end, nor how long parts will take.I’m fairly certain the compressor went bad, due to the symptoms and fact that coils are cleaned. The model I bought had the linear compressor - which I was sold on by Home Depot as being great per warranty and reliability. Upon now reading the class action suit that’s ongoing... the issue is these linear compressors failing at 3 yrs on average!I will never buy an LG appliance again! I bought their washer and dryer and the dryer stopped working in 1 yr and 1 month after purchase. That also required repair and I was without a dryer for over a week. I’m single and facing upcoming lay-offs at my job. In all my 44 yrs, I have never had any issues like this with a refrigerator, or dryer (even at 10+ years!). I have already lost money from all my food going bad and expensive medication for my pet has also gone bad! LG can’t get anyone out here until Tuesday. They need to do the right thing for customers that experience this with faulty parts, or appliances... without a lawsuit, or hassle!

LG True Balance washing machine - We purchased this machine brand new and was told it was top of the line in terms of quality and capacity. It was also at the top end of pricing. We have been dissatisfied in every way. It takes hours to complete a wash cycle and the only chance you stand of getting through a wash cycle without machine stopping every 10 minutes and showing an error code is if you wash like items, ie only towels or only jeans... and then you still often times have to reposition at least once. Many times I cant get the load to finish and have had to remove and wring out by hand soaked and dripping items from machine. We have balanced it every way possible and done all recommended troubleshooting. Techs say just wash like items... not realistic to wash that many separate loads. Would love to hear if anyone has figured out how to fix this issue.

We purchased an LG Gas Range in November of 2012. Starting in May of 2015, the oven racks started becoming a struggle to slide them in and out of the oven. We noticed that the blue enamel was gone on the tracks where the oven racks slide in and out. We have contacted LG and they keep giving us the run around. We even sent pictures where it was evident that the enamel was gone and you could clearly see the metal. They responded with the following email, Sir: This is with regard to the request of range racks for model#LRG3095st. The unit was purchased 11/15/2012 which is over a year and not qualified for us to send you the racks for free. This racks can be ordered with our Parts Distributor, MCM ELECTRONICS phone# 800-824-9491. Also, regarding the pictures that you sent to us which have stains on the blue enamel, these were caused by liquids, sauces, grease, and other foods spilled or splattered inside the oven which is cosmetic issue, therefore not covered. So, all they ever wanted to do was have us order our own racks and state that these were stained by grease, liquids, etc. Obviously, he did not look at the picture and it appears he is stating that these things will eat the enamel off of the inside of the stove to where the metal is exposed... LG has a problem and is not wanting to take care of any problem pertaining to their product. Their customer service representative told me that it was out of warranty and that it is not covered. So basically, the enamel in the LG oven that costs around $1,000 is only meant to last 2 to 3 years. DONT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

My husband and I purchased an LG appliance package in April 2016 after I did careful research on the products that were available at the time. We got a fridge, microwave and gas range. The first problem that we had was our fridge. The compressor went out about three years in which LG fixed. Next up, about a year ago, our ice maker just stopped working. Around that same time, I heard a very loud pop in our microwave and that stopped working.I had a tech come out to take a look and it was the entire control panel which was nearly the same amount the microwave cost in order to fix it which we ended doing. I didnt want to get another brand because this microwave has a special vent that goes above my range. The tech also looked at the refrigerator ice maker and mentioned that we may need to replace the door which is a common problem apparently. Unfortunately that is too pricey for the time being so now I have no icemaker.Until yesterday, Ive been happy with my LG Gas Range... I started getting an F9 error which means the oven isnt heating correctly. Tonight I was making dinner and the oven turned on as usual and said it was preheated. I started cooking and opened the oven to check my food. Low and behold, the oven is barely hot. I check the oven temp and its 205 even though the temp says 400. Sounds like another problem that is going to cost me hundreds of dollars to repair. Ive only had this appliance package for 5 years. It is so disappointing to have a problem with everything Ive purchased from LG. Ive been making sure to tell all of my friends and family to avoid LG because of all the problems Ive had. The only appliance I have in my kitchen that hasnt had any issues is my dishwasher but thats a Bosch. Im glad I didnt get one from LG. Although the LG appliance look beautiful, please avoid them because right now Im trying to plan meals without the use of my oven until I can get it fixed. What a disappointment.

We purchased the LG front loading washing machine four years ago. It does vibrate but not like a Bronco. It does smell sometimes but we bleach out the machine once a month or so. It does not clean our clothes very well. I have to soak my shirts and pants in a water/ammonia solution before putting them in the washer to get a start on cleaning them properly. I guess if we use high-powered stink detergent, we would not notice a not quite clean smell of freshly laundered clothes, but we dont want artificial stink on our clothes. When my mother sells her house, Im going to trade our inadequate machine for her 15-year old Maytag top loader with the suds saver. We would warn anyone about purchasing this washer. I had no idea that so many people had those amounts of problems with this product. Wish wed read here first. It figures that LG is a Republican supporter, lots of big stink to cover up even bigger stink.

LRE3083ST - After a year and 4 days of limited use there is enamel flaking off inside the stove. There appears to be rust underneath this area and this is a manufacturers defect. The range is not usable as food is not safe to eat any food. Flakes are airborne during cooking this range. The safety issues with this range are of great concern and the lack of response and support from LG on their product, which obviously has a manufacturers defect, is alarming. LG says this is cosmetic and I would never buy another one of their products. This was a waste of $799 dollars.

We bought an LG French Door Refrigerator 8 years ago for almost $3000. Right before the warranty expired the compressor broke. It took 2 weeks to get LG to send a repair man out, 2 more week for the wrong part to arrive, 2 more weeks for the repair to be finally completed. Now a few years later, the refrigerator broke down again. We called several appliance repair companies and they all said we are better off applying our money to a new refrigerator because the parts are nearly impossible to get and they will not last. None of them had positive opinions of the LG product. Never again.

Called Lowes, New Castle, Pa where we purchased a defective LG washing machine. Rust spots all over our clothing. We were told it was a stainless steel tub and would not cause rust. They told us it was LGs problem. LG does not call you back when you leave messages. After 4 long months: They do not answer their phones. Customer service, you cannot understand them. Not sure what country you are being connected to. They are not taking responsibility for the defective washing machine and Lowes is not standing behind their customer. I will never purchase from Lowes or LG ever again. Horrible!!!

We bought a LG washer in 2009 and thank goodness we purchased the extended warranty. We have had so many problems and it has required numerous expensive repairs. In the first year under LGs warranty we knew it was a lemon. After four years of replacing numerous parts it is deemed irreparable. Our service person from the warranty company called LG and gave us a number to hopefully replace it. After six weeks of working with them we were given two reference numbers and felt confident that the problem was being solved and they had our initial sales receipt. We found out we have been working with a call center in the Philippines from a LG representative in Alabama. When I asked why they have indicated to us things were progressing he said you are dealing with people in the Philippines and they are going to tell you want you want to hear.In the end, I was told our washer had gone for final review and we would be contacted in 10 to 12 business days about its possible replacement since it is irreparable. When I called to find out why I had not heard back, I was given the run around again. It was only when I insisted several times on talking corporate that I learned we would have to go through the extended warranty company which was not the information we received at first. So for over six weeks we believed LG was handling this professionally only to find we had been given the run around and dealing with people who really did not understand what they were doing. I am very concerned about this kind of professionalism and why we werent told after numerous calls and all the information they had that they were not going to replace our washer. So if you have problems beware that even though you feel reassured the problem is being dealt with, it might not be. So why did they lead us on for five weeks and numerous phone calls? They could have told us initially we were on the wrong path.

Updated on 08/15/2020: Its now 8/15/2020, nearly 10 weeks into the saga of my LG refrigerator. The tech called me on 7/1/20 to say that a refund had been approved. It took until 7/16/20 to get an email with instructions to follow to get the refund. I followed the instructions and used the FedEx label provided on 7/20/20 by putting the form in the FedEx box. I sent emails and texts to the LG customer service contact and their support center on 8/3/20, 8/10/20 & 8/14/20. I also scanned their letter with the label from the unit (which was fedexed on 7/20) and attached it to the last email in the event that they attempt to say they never got it. Still no response. This is now beyond ridiculous. Oh, did I forget to mention the fact that I have ordered a replacement unit, which is from another manufacturer, but due to Covid-19 wont be available for 4 - 8 weeks and I have to pay for the removal of the LG unit?Updated on 07/16/2020: I posted my story up to 7/11/20, and received a response from LG requesting more of my information on 7/13/20, which I provided, but have not heard back. Meanwhile the customer service rep sends text messages without responding to my texts. Apparently they want the model sticker off the fridge, which I sent a photo of, and since their factory tech already physically inspected the sticker, I am not sure why they want me to scrape it off and mail it in. At this point they should come pick up the unit and keep it for themselves and maybe figure out what is wrong with their product. Meanwhile, remember this started with the freezer side not working, their repairs rendered the entire unit out of commission. By the way, did I mention that it is mid-summer, heat wave time of year. Oh, yeah and now that I am shopping for a replacement, I come to find out there are none available for at least 4 - 6 weeks.Original Review: My 3 1/2 year old LG refrigerator side by side model #LSXS26366S began to act up on 6/7/20 when the freezer side stopped working. Called service on 6/8/20 and was told their factory tech would come out on 6/16/20. Received parts boxes delivery during same week. Tech spent 4 hours at my home on 6/16/20. Left me with trash and old parts, said it was fixed. Next morning some up to a unit that didnt work at all, had to throw away food since fridge side now did not work. Tech came back on 6/17, worked 2 hours and said he had to order more parts, which turned out to be the same ones. They arrived on 6/22, he came back out that same day, spent another 4 hours on unit, said it was fixed, give it 24 hours and then it would be good to go. Called tech on 6/24 since once again the unit was not working. More spoiled food. Good thing it was time to replace the unit. He started process of filing report with my proof of purchase and model info. I also called LG customer service and spent 2.5 hours on the phone to file claim. Provided same proof of purchase info. Got call from tech on 7/2/20 that my unit was approved for replacement. Followed up with customer service, another 1.25 hours later was told to submit my info again and would hear back in 7 to 10 business days.I submitted written request for response on 7/7/20 since they do not answer phone calls. Received email written by an semi-illiterate person named Alexuis ** at LG asking for my info all over again. I forwarded photos of proof of purchase and model that from unit. Now told to remove sticker with model info and FedEx to them and wait another 2 weeks for payment. Not sure how a company of this size can be so poorly run and how they have all these built-in delays to basically force you to just go away. Will never purchase another LG product again and warn everyone I know to beware!

Purchased LG fridge (LFX25991st) in December 2013 for $2,500. December 2015 evaporator fan & control board went out. Cost $500. July 2017 the exact same issue. This time Sears repair parts & labor $800. Sears tech. informed us that this was a documented service alert and that there was a design defect in the air-flow cover assembly which has been corrected. Now, three weeks after the $800 repair ice maker is no longer working and the freezer is not working. There should be a lemon law for appliances. LG is a zero on customer service. This is the worst piece of garbage I have ever owned and deeply regret purchasing an LG product at all. I will NEVER EVER purchase an LG anything again.

Please do not buy the LG 400+ ltr double door refrigerator even if it is given free. In a bargain hunting, I purchased a double door digital control LG 420 ltr refrigerator and it was buying a huge pain and trouble for me and my family. With almost Rs. 51,000/- paid through my nose the refrigerator is a horrible experience from the month I purchased. The computer chip got burnt out in 13th month and replaced at my cost of Rs. 4300/-, the compressor had to be replaced in 14th month. Compressor again replaced in 17th month. Even after 2 repairs at my cost the compressor makes heavy noise and the customer support has not been able to set it right even after making payments for service. The quality of the refrigerator is completely below par and in an attempt to cut cost the LG has severely compromised on quality. The customer support is horribly bad and an opaque management. You dare it and make any attempt and you do not get a caring attention. Just rhetoric and evading answers. I have lost thousands of rupees worth goods due to the machine abruptly stopping in the middle of the hot summer. I now seriously repent having purchased this refrigerator to save some Rs. 2000/- against its competitor and today hove lost more than Rs.10,000/- in repair and maintenance in just less than 2 years. Add to this the constant tension of the machine going off when we are out on a holiday, it have never been peace of mind ever since we purchased this refrigerator. Contact me at ** to hear my pains and wish none of you go through such horrible experience. Please do not look at LG refrigerator if you love your peace of mind. Even today if you want to see the problem of high noise compressor, please call and visit us. I only wish that no one elses hard earned money should be wasted in buying a bad product of LG double door digital control refrigerator.

I was comparing prices and online reviews and decided to go with LG. They had the best prices for the features I was looking for at the time. LG has met my expectations and I would recommend the fridge to others. I never had to have any repairs or service done on the fridge. The LG refrigerator had a lot of space for the food I needed to keep for a large family and lasted a long time. It also had a nice ice maker and was energy efficient. I only bought a new LG fridge because I was remodeling my kitchen and the fridge no longer matched with the updates. It was reliable and held up to the brands claims. Maybe one thing that the LG company could improve on is warranty length on the product.

Our LG stove has also experienced cracked plastic stems on the SS burner knobs from regular use as others have posted. The problem was discovered when one burner would not turn off as the knob had rotated past the stop. This is a major safety hazard. The cost of replacement knobs is at least $75 to $95 each and not an acceptable option. I have devised a simple fix to reinforce cracked (not broken) plastic burner knob stems. The total parts cost is less than $5 for five burners and can be done using typical household hand tools or tools that cost only a few dollars each. I am preparing a detailed instruction sheet for sale on eBay for about $10, but will offer the draft now at a discount to anyone interested.

We purchased our fridge in Nov 2018. In March 2020 the freezer stopped freezing and the fridge stopped cooling. We have asked about getting our compressor replaced or them just replacing our unit and each time they refused because the techs state that the problem is the software. Its now June and our fridge just stopped working again today. Ive been on the phone for over an hour to speak with a manager. Im so frustrated with the amount of time and money that we have wasted with this product and company. All I want now is my money back for the product but they are telling me the same tech has to come out and do an evaluation of our fridge again! Never ever purchase an LG refrigerator. On March 28, 2015 our LG front load machine was run on the tub clean cycle. It overfilled with water and the door seal failed. Water poured out of the machine and it just kept on filling. Water damaged several rooms in our home. We handled the emergency by shutting off the water supply. Hooking up shop vacs to the drain hose to empty the water in the machine. Shop vacs were filled many times over to clean up the floors and empty the machine. Commercial Dehumidifiers, floor dryers and fans were brought in to try and save the wood and tile floors, cabinetry and personal things. Water bubbled out of the wood floors in our new home.We contacted our retailer, Grand Appliance in Madison Wisconsin and they said they will file a claim with LG, but that LG doesnt typically cover both replacing the defective machine and repairing the damages caused. I will report back when we have something in writing from LG, but we are not happy that they havent responded yet and even more unhappy that the retailer cannot assure us the manufacturer will make this right.

They were here 3 times and never did anything about it. Our warranty is up and were stuck with a lemon. We bought it from Sears. I dont think well be shopping there anymore. Throws errors LG refused to fix. 2 months old. 3 errors. Model WT7060CV: We purchased from well known retailer, upgraded all external hoses, faucet, etc. at time they installed. Within 2 weeks, started getting errors requiring reset, that worked, now at 2 months of light usage, vacation home, the error claims no water coming into tub. The symptoms however are conflicting: water fills tub and washes, then as it goes into spin, error thrown, tub drains, washer stops working, items in washer are wet. Now we cant get washer to work at all, the current error says requires repair person, we call retailer, they give us LG Customer Service, customer service tells us the problem is no water is coming into tub, I explained that was not the case and reiterated symptoms. We did video call with LG, they found no problem and said the hose must be clogged since no water was coming in. We said yes water is coming in, they said to clean the filters which required taking back off of washer but they wouldnt stay on the call to assist, I said water is coming in and seems odd that after 2 months the filters have to be cleaned and I am not comfortable doing this on my own, they said to stop repeating myself and hung up on me. They gave us 2 repair people in Seattle, 1 out of business, 1 never called back. I asked for repair services closer to East side because anyone further out wont drive to our location, they gave me 2 that are further away than first repair service. Retailer told us LG was supposed to call repair service not us.Now the retailer, who really has been super helpful is dealing with LG and is going to pay for an LG repair company closer to our location that is not on LG authorized list to go out to try to repair the machine. The retailer told me LG is extremely difficult to work with when issues occur with their products. Lesson learned. DONT BUY LG, I now have a shiny new 2 month old washing machine that does not work and neither the retailer or LG will take back. The good news... The dryer works fine. So far.

My white clothes are always dingy regardless of what I do. Now the bleach cup is always full of water after every load of clothes is washed. Upon washing another load, when the dispenser drawer is pulled out, the water in the bleach cup comes streaming out. I barely ever use bleach, so it cant be a rust problem. I will be glad when this horrible machine dies. Ill for sure get something else and not an LG product. My LG dishwasher isnt worth a hoot either. Never again will I purchase LG products.

We purchased an LG refrigerator (Model #LDN20718SW/02) in January 2012. We have replaced the bottom shelf twice now. The second time it broke again within the first week. We have an extended warranty which would not cover replacement if broken within 3 months. We now have a shelf that is also broke that is not covered by the warranty. We do not have children living at home and are not hard on appliances. The plastic in this fridge is very brittle and does not stand up to normal everyday use. LG does not allow purchase of parts, even through an appliance repair, so you can replace these parts yourself. In Canada you must pay a service person to come out to replace these parts!!

After reading all these reviews, and after my own experience, I am very surprised, that this company is still on market. I bought my french door refrigerator LFX31945ST on July 2014 from Home Depot. On October 2014 it stopped working for a first time. Er rF code appeared. Called LG, they sent a technician. He showed me that ice build up behind the rear panel and blocked fan. He blamed us (or whoever installed the fridge) for not removing the plastic foil from the rear, which could cause this problem. Exactly after one year in October 2015 the same problem - first fan started making noise, and after two days eR rF code. Called LG (thanks God, I bought extended warranty), technician came, replaced few parts, said everything should be OK. Since then, literally every month we had this pattern - fan noisy - eR rf code, technician replaced some parts (I get lost what he replaced), said everything now should be fine, next month fan noisy....etc, etc. Finally, when I started demanding money back and mentioned that next time my lawyer will talk with you, they sent a third company, who following instruction on the phone from, I guess, LG, altered some settings, and in November 2016 they fixed it. Refrigerator worked over the year without any problems. We hoped our problems are over. Not so fast! In July 2018 refrigerator stopped cooling, no error code appeared, just we see the water one morning and thawed food. Called HOME Depot, they sent LG technician, who said that everything with the refrigerator is OK, and it got defrost because we did not close the door properly (!). OK, we believed in that, especially since this one morning refrigerator seemed to work OK. Not so long, after ~ four weeks again the same. Again, LG technician said we did not close the door properly, and we put too much food (!!). Home Depot protection plan refused to cover spoiled food, because technician did not find any failure. OK, that was enough, I started very closely monitoring temperature inside, and noticed that it is consistently higher than it should be (nearly room temperature in refrigerator compartment, and around 34F in the fridge. OK, called Home Depot third time. They sent a third company. After two weeks or so, several cancelled appointments, etc technician showed up and after 15 seconds staring at the refrigerator said that drainage (or something like this) needs to be replaced (very peculiar way of diagnosing). It took another month to order a part, schedule an appointment, etc, and when finally he appeared with part, he said that refrigerator is not fixable. The same day I got the phone call from Home Depot that they will send LG technician to confirm this diagnosis. The same LG technician appeared and said that compressor needs to be replaced. Again, waiting two weeks (only two weeks) for part, and refrigerator was fixed in October 2018. Two weeks ago fan started making noise, and today morning eR rF code appeared. Called Home Depot this morning...To sum up: when Home Depot protection plan expires I will throw away this piece of junk and buy new one, from different manufacturer. I will do may best to get my money back from LG or Home Depot, because in my opinion this fridge was inherently broken from the beginning. I will closely watch what is going on with that class action. STAY AWAY FROM LG REFRIGERATOR, otherwise you will soon write review similar to mine and hundreds of others on this webpage.

Updated on 11/29/2021: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Again, based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and any posted customer experience comments before purchasing any LG kitchen appliance. I made a post 2 months ago on the unreliable refrigerator I purchased and the lack of customer service from LG. Shortly after that post I got action, but it has turned out to be just lip service. I have provided everything LG requested to get a prorated reimbursement for the refrigerator. I have been told on several occasions the reimbursement is approved and the check has been mailed. To this date, 11/29/21, I still have not received the check and I still have an unreliable LG refrigerator. The “promises” of me receiving a reimbursement, which come from as high up of the “liaison of the president”, apparently are meaningless. Bottom line is if you are planning to purchase kitchen appliances please, please consider my situation in order to avoid hours and hours of wasted time and frustration as well as money if you go with LG.Original Review: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and the customer experience comments when something does not work like it should. We purchased the French door refrigerator in November 2019. We started having a problem with the freezer compartment getting too warm in April 2021. This is October 2, 2021 and the problem still exists. The customer service department scheduled repairs. Nine technicians from two different companies have worked on the refrigerator. Many components have been replaced including thermostats, rear cover panel and the mother board that controls everything. The problem revolves around the defrost cycle and the unit not being able to recover from defrosting. The compartment gets too warm, 41 degrees. The refrigerator compartment also gets to 41 degrees. Multiple times everything in the freezer has thawed and turned to liquid. Ice melts in the ice dispenser and runs on the floor. The issue has been escalated 4 times now. Three of those have been to the Defective Returns Department. They rejected the claim first due to “improper submission of the claim by their representative” and a second time because “the person handling the claim no longer works for the company”. I have emailed the President twice without a response even though his webpage says he will respond. My experience has been extremely poor and I still have a defective refrigerator. For $3,100 I expected a unit that would perform and last for a number of years. The company has no doubt spent near that amount of failed repair attempts. I’ve been told that my unit qualifies for either replacement or refund due to the number of repairs and due to the failure of the company to schedule repair within 14 days. This problem is a nightmare and has no resolution within sight. Life’s Not So Good with this kind of customer service and a company that does not stand behind its product. Buyer beware!

We purchase this Kenmore Elite 29002 top loading washing machine in 2012. After about 4 loads of normal, not grimy laundry, it began smelling very musty. (*We are very eat clean folks...no children in the house, etc). Called Sears, they sent out repair person twice; they looked at the drain mechanism, messed with the computerized controls and made all cycles longer; suggested we clean the washer every week with purchased $$ tablets.. So now the machine that was to save money by saving water (High efficiency)... Would now cost out to $ $15/month for cleaning tablets!! They should take it back and replace it with a better model!

I purchased LG front load washer. The gasket where the cleaning liquid, bleach and fabric softener is placed is always full of mold. Also when the gasket is removed, the location where gasket is inserted is full of mold plus the front section of the washer. Contacted LG several times and they say it is a consumer issue and not a company issue. Absolutely disappointed with their service. They are currently under a class action lawsuit for front load washers with this same issue for those that were purchased between 2000-2006 but since mine was purchased 2012 it doesnt apply. Its amazing to me how they wont acknowledge same issue they are in court for. I own LG washer, dryer, refrigerator and TVs and I would never purchase an LG product again.

Ive had my washer for approximately 2 years. In the past Ive stuck with well respected brands such as Kenmore. I was hesitant to try a new brand, but my daughter has an LG TV that shes been pleased with, so I thought Id give LG a try. Ive raised three children and now have a grandchild, my husbands a mechanic and we farm as well, so Ive put washers through a lot over the 30+ years of married life. Ive never had a washing machine rust before this one. The compartment that is specifically designed for bleach is all rusted out, so I now wait until the washer is full and just dispense the bleach directly into the load. The back of lid that you cant see is also rusted. I take good care of my appliances by wiping them down and keeping dust off of them on a regular basis, so this isnt operators fault, this is poor materials and manufacturing. This also does not have the center agitator like the old designs and it just doesnt get my clothes as clean as with the agitator bar. I did read about the mildew smell that can occur in these new HE washers and Ive avoided this by leaving the lid and soap dispensers open after each load to air things out. Ive also been using the tub clean cycle with the special Tide cleaner about once every two months. Needless to say, I will not be buying anymore LG products. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

My compressor failed while my family and I were out of town recently. We lost everything that was in the freezer section and also everything on the refrigerator side of the unit. The process of getting the compressor fixed through warranty services was extremely easy. It was fixed within a week. But, I had estimated to the LG customer service rep that I had lost between 250-300 dollars in meat and fish that I had in the freezer along with all of the contents of the refrigerator side. LG sent me a check for 150.00 which helped with the loss but did not replace everything that was lost from the compressor failure. So, I was displeased in the fact that I had to replace what was lost even though it was not my fault and LG should have replaced the contents completely. Richard

You would think with only 3 people in the house that a washer (WM2487HRM) would last longer than 8 years! My washers final load stopped on the rinse cycle and would not finish. I tried resetting the wash load by pressing the rinse/spin button thinking it was just a temporary problem and still would not work. Now all it does is make a loud rumbling sound. I called Customer Service and they told me that the rumbling sound was either the rotor or a bearing. This isnt the only problem Ive had with this beautiful, red W/D set. About 5 years ago the wiring in the back of the dryer started smoking. Thankfully we were home otherwise the house would have burned down. I ended up cutting the burnt wires and splicing in new wires to fix. Never again LG!!!

LG Tromm WM0642HW - I purchased my washing machine and dryer in June 2007. Today I was told the washing machine was not repairable. This washing machine has been a total disappointment. My clothes never smelled clean. The machine stunk always. There were times I had to wash the clothes twice to get them clean. The wash cycle was at least an hour long. I am really not sure how that conserves energy. I expected the quality of this machine to be top notch. For me it was not. If I knew I was going to have to buy a new machine in a little over 7 years, I certainly would not have paid for the top of the line machine like I thought I was getting.

We called customer service on Wednesday. They have not yet called to set the appointment even after our follow up call on Friday - so here we are 5 days into a non working fridge or freezer and no repair appointment scheduled by LG - remember a $4000 plus fridge that’s less than 2 years old plus loss of the food that we have to throw out.

I purchased the over the range microwave from Best Buy just over a year ago. The microwave stopped working, will not power on. I verified the outlet is good by trying another appliance in it and I even replaced the fuse in the microwave, but still does not work. I called LG, but since it was out of warranty, they said there is nothing they can do and referred me to a local repair shop. The local shop said it would end up costing more than I paid to come out, diagnose, and potentially repair the system. At this point, it seems I have no options left other than buying a brand new microwave. I wasted my money on this LG microwave that barely even lasted one year. Poor quality product and poor customer service.

We purchased an LG LMXS27626 in August 2016. It’s a nice fridge and worked well for our needs. Last year we had some minor issues but last week (May 2020) it stopped cooling completely. Annoying but we figured no problem. We will get it it repaired. We have since learned the mess we are in. We called every repair service in the area all of whom told us they do not work on the linear compressor. They helped us understand that it is a unique system that only LG service providers can fix. No problem we thought! At least it’s under warranty. Then we called them. Before I even hung up the phone with LG customer service I received the following email: LGs Authorized Service providers in your area are not showing availability at this time. We are urgently reaching out to other service providers to request their first available slot so that you can be supported as quickly as possible. You will be notified when an appointment is confirmed. If 7 days has passed from the date of this notice and you have not been scheduled for an appointment, please contact LG and we will escalate your case.I then took it upon myself to look at the LG website and called the 2 listed service providers in our area. They both stated they are no longer completing LG warranty services. Unsure of where to turn, we called Orville’s where we purchased the fridge. They gave us a phone number for who they said is the only LG employee who completes these repairs in our area. We called him and he was kind and helpful but he is unable to complete the repair unless LG sends the request. (We wondered why they hadn’t.) He double checked and never received anything pertaining to our issue. Good news is he has availability later this week and said he would be happy to do this but we must call back LG.I called & they told me that if we give him our Reference number that he will be able to set it up. We call back the tech/LG employee who says that is NOT true. I called back again and tried to tell them that we have an LG employee who is ready & willing to complete our repair this week but need them to set it up. They sounded surprised and after some back and forth on hold said they weren’t allowed to do this.Ok so what is the next step? I was told that LG is reaching out the an alternative service provider and will let us know when they get something on the schedule. Couldn’t get a company or any clear idea of what would be done. I asked when we might hear something and it was unclear but there wasn’t even anyone available to talk more with until Monday! So it’s 90 degrees and we don’t have a refrigerator. This is the only website that I have seen LG respond to. I will survive but honestly there are other customers who can’t access the same resources and it is concerning to read that we are one of SO MANY that go through this. This is clearly a widespread issue and LG’s lack of response so far will cause me to shop other brands in the future and also warn others of these problems. It’s not so much the fact that the appliance failed, it’s that it’s impossible to get it fixed in a timely manner. LG needs to find a solution and get some sort of procedure in place. I am hopeful this review will trigger a response & resolution.

Was the best deal available at the time and was highly recommended by salesman. Love the brand and would buy again as it has many features you dont necessarily get elsewhere. Highly reliable products. I like the ice maker and filtered water system. Also like that I can move the shelves around to maximize and customize the space in the refrigerator. I also like the meat drawer and produce drawers. They are spacious enough to hold adequate products. But the freezer is too small, would like less shelving etc to give more space; maybe move the freezer to the bottom instead of side by side if it could be configured correctly and I could see and retrieve product easily.

After 4 years of no issues with our LG refrigerator, it died one day after we hosted our daughters bridal shower. Needless to say, we lost all the food. Called a repairman, came out and informed us it was the compressor and it was under warranty. He also warned us that LG has been having issues with the compressors. We called LG and they told us that their repair service (through A&E) couldnt come out until 2 weeks later. I waited ALL day and no one ever came. We received a call and email to call back the next day to reschedule. Naturally I assumed they would come asap. Well to my dismay, they couldnt come out until 2 WEEKS later. Are you kidding me!! We had been without a fridge all this time and they expect you to wait even longer and its their negligence! We were so frustrated and disgusted we just gave up and bought a new refrigerator, a Frigidaire, since it seems price doesnt guarantee it will last!

We bought a new LG fridge in August 2017... Yesterday Jan.21 2020 (2 1/2 years) the fridge and freezer quit working. I called the LG 1-800 to do a remote Smart Diagnose but none of their agents could get their receiver to work in order to do this. They told me to call the one warranty dealer in my city as I found out today that all the other warranty dealers dropped both LG and Samsung for both warranty and non-warranty works as their products and service are horrible. So the only warranty place said they would not come out and I had to bring in my fridge but they suggested based on what I told them was happening that they would spend $500 plus to maybe still not be able to fix it and to go buy a new one…. LG warranty is on parts only and the guys said its never the parts that are expensive. It is the problem solving time and labor that costs. It turns out they would rather build a product that uses less power for energy savings but the compressors etc fail in short time 2 to 6 years.. Great….

Updated on 07/25/2019: I thought I would be coming back here to change my rating. An LG rep contacted me in private conversation on this site after I posted my original review. He promised in writing (sent the transcript to LGs repair website) to fix the problem with no charge. I spent hours of submitting the required pictures, information, and the transcript of the conversation. The rep who spoke with me and reviewed the conversation said that since I was promised a courtesy repair and since I submitted the proof, that an LG rep would be contacting me by phone within the next two days. Instead, I just received an email in my junk mail that THEY COULD NOT APPROVE THE REPAIR. So, my original review stands at one star. It should be lower because they did not follow through on their promise. On my original review, it states Resolution in Progress. SADLY, THEY HAVE NO INTENTION ON RESOLVING THIS. It would have been better for them to turn me down OR NOT OFFER in the first place than promise the courtesy repair and renege. I DIDNT ASK THEM TO FIX IT, I was just writing a review on their product. They offered to fix it. Never again will I buy and LG product. And I will discourage all my friends and acquaintances against it. Dont buy anything LG--there are so many other better brands out there with real customer service!Original review: We purchased an LG refrigerator and almost immediately the covering on the control panel started peeling. Its my fault that I didnt take care of it right away, but it was only cosmetic. At the time, we were in the middle of a military move and had many other things that needed attention. The fridge is only 6 years old, but now the peeling has almost reached the fonts that tell you what your choices are. As it peels, it turns black underneath so once it reaches the wording, we wont be able to read the available choices. The customer service rep says it will be $125.00 to send someone out and they do not sell the required part to customers. Only a technician can bring the part. Cheap product- wont buy again.

I bought an LG washer model number WT5001C in April 2012. One year, the water pump is so close to the tub that the tub knocked the water pump out of place causing it to cut into the water outlet. Our refrigerator freezer completely died on Saturday, April 25, 2020. I contacted LG on Monday, April 27 and reported the problem. They had me go through the Smart diagnosis function, as well as the reset function and neither worked. They confirmed that there was a full warranty on both parts and labor, however they did not have a certified technician in my area (even though we live close to the Phoenix metropolitan area) so they would be unable to provide one. They indicated we could try to find one ourselves. We did find one that would service our refrigerator and asked the customer service to provide an “LOA” ( Letter of Authorization) which they indicated they would issue. After finding out from the service people that they did not receive the LOA, we contacted LG again and they indicated that they sent it. When we asked them Email it again while we were waiting on the phone, they indicated that they did. Again the service company said they never received it. We asked LG to send us a copy of the order and they said they would not do so. We finally got them to set up a service call for Wednesday, May 6. We ask them for the name of the service company, and still have yet to receive a response. Since that means almost 10 days with no refrigerator, we are extremely frustrated with LG.

I purchased the LG Probake gas range 2 1/2 years ago. Of course after a year the warranty was up and I had to have it repaired. It cost 300.00 to repair and it is very hard to find someone to work on it. I was told LG doesnt have spec sheets for anyone to repair their products. It makes it hard. I was also told that it is hard to find parts as LG Discontinues them frequently. Got it fixed in December of 2019 and here we are again. The convection oven stopped working and was shooting out flames. I researched and found out this always fails on this range. Totally disappointed. Couldnt find anyone to repair it in my area and I tried to order the part for it and spent an additional 80.00. Still can not get it to work. Now I am at the point of buying a different range and definitely wont be an LG. I am so upset. I wasted my money. It was the first brand new range I purchased for my family and I have only had it for 2 and a half years.

I have top load LG smart drum - worst washer ever. UE ERROR CODE unbalanced load. Takes all day to do 2 loads because machine has to be babysat - it continually fills with water to balance load. Also it does not clean clothes well. The technician said it does not clean clothes well because I have well water (it is filtered and very clean water) and said that this washer would not work unless I did very large loads. He said 5 towels at one time not enough. Also LG will not do anything about it unless it is deemed un-repairable. Their technicians are trained with a list of excuses not to deem un-repairable as you can see above. I offer LG the machine back for free if they put it in a LG executives home - to see if they could use it properly. They said no.

Bought a LG dishwasher from Pacific store inside of Best Buy store in Tampa, Florida last Nov 28, 2014. Even after reading the reviews, stating that the machine left a stranger smell, didnt clean well... I was not totally convinced. :-( BIG MISTAKE!!! REVIEWS - BELIEVE THEM - Yes, the machine is not good AT ALL. The machine is not used too much, but after few month... the smell that was coming from it was incredible disgusting!!! It looks like something had died inside (let me make clear, I do rinse all dishes before I put them inside of the dish washer). Glasses started getting to be white. Plates I could feel there were something being left on them, they do not dry completely. After few months I got 2 guests in my home and the machine got to be used every day... OMG - then I really could see the damage - I finally decided to call for service after 10 month.CUSTOMER SERVICE - part 2. When I called the LG, they said they could only find me by my phone number, but they did not found me. I called the store I bought it from - Pacific inside Best Buy, they said ONLY by phone number, I gave them, but they would not find me over the phone. So I walked to the store with my phone bill on my hand. THEN THEY FOUND ME.All this took me another month to deal with. Now I am on the 11 month of my warranty, my time is running out (which Best Buy can find you by whatever info you give them)... Best Buy manager step in, apologize and ask the manager of Pacific to make an appointment for service call for me. Yes, they did, but today I was waiting from 8 a.m to 12 pm and nobody show up. I called the company, and they said, they dont service my area. So I said, What? So, after me spending all morning waiting, and not going to work, you dont come? They said they had called LG, and told them they dont service this area, and LG should had given my schedule to another company.I called LG again... LG said I apologize... someone else can go to your home on Wed. I said, I cant not go to work on Wed. They said, Well, Advance Tech Service, did not tell us that they did not service your area. We cannot do anything. So I said, Well, again, its me, the consumer who gets in the middle of Best Buy, Pacific, LG, and Advance Tech Service... No one wants to take responsibility for the mistake, for my pay day that I didnt make. The LG manager hang up on my face. Its rude, cruel and not right. The only thing I want is a machine that work properly and well, and someone responsible the mistake. LG and customer service - VERY BAD - DO not buy from them or from Pacific.Updated on 11/12/2015: OMG - the LG service man came to my home yesterday. After showing him my machine, how dirty my dishes were, stainless steel full of white soap, cups of coffee with all the coffee inside, I told about the terrible smell that would come out between washes, showed my cabinet that had some type of damaged on the side due to moisture... He couldnt find anything wrong with it. He said the only problem was You have to turn your faucet to hot water to a 120 degrees before turning the dish washer on. This is the problem with your machine... He even suggested that I would install a heater under my sink!?! I have lived in this house for 16 years, and I have had only one dishwasher before, which basically broke after enough use, and always worked perfect. What is he talking about?!?! Please help!!! Its under warranty and do not want to fix it.

Have had the fridge over 2 years and the fridge stopped cooling, woke up to a puddle on the floor from the indoor ice maker melting... They only cover 1 year of parts and labor and 10 years on compressor itself, what a surprise... Its like they know it would break after a year... Good thing I have an extended warranty with Home Depot which covers parts and labor an extra 3 years. If it breaks again in 2 years Im just going to trash it... This product was made to fail, dont buy.

I purchased a Blast Chill LG refrigerator/freezer in March 2013, paid $3,700 for it. Of course the warranty has expired. A week ago, my ice maker stopped working & the refrigerator started freezing my produce. I called LG & was told to adjust the settings. The ice maker still did not work but the freezing stopped. Over the weekend (on a Saturday), my refrigerator was not cooling properly & the food in the top drawer of the freezer was melting. I called LG repair & was told that someone would come to my home on Monday between 1-5 pm but would call with a 2 hour window. They assured me that they had diagnosed the problem (my refrigerator has a system that they can use to diagnose using my cell phone). They assured me that the repairman would have all the parts with him and the cost would be $225 flat rate for parts and service. At 3:34 pm, I called LG to let them know I had not heard from anyone and they told me that they would text their repairman. An hour later, I still had not heard & called back. They again texted the repairman. Within 5 minutes, I received a call & was told that he was 20 minutes from my home. The repairman arrived and spent less than 10 minutes, all the while speaking to someone on the phone who was directing him on the review of the refrigerator. He told me that he had to order a part, a Grill Fan Assembly, and that he did not have the part available on the truck. He told me that the customer service operators were overseas and had no idea what they were doing. He told me he would squeeze me in the following day for the repair between 1-5 pm.At 3:45 pm, I sent him a text using the number he called me with the day before. No callback. I texted the number again at 4:45 pm. No return. I called LG who told me they would text him. I got a call within 5 minutes & the tech told me he would be at my home in 18 minutes. He arrived and changed the Grill Fan Assembly (while in and out of his truck talking on the phone) and left about 6:30 pm telling me that the refrigerator should start cooling. Needless to say, I woke up this morning and the food in the freezer is all defrosted, and the refrigerator/freezer is warmer today than yesterday, and the defrosted food is leaking all over the floor.I called LG repair this morning & spoke to someone in India (same as the first two times I called), who told me that the best they could do would be to send someone out on Friday or Saturday, 3 days from now. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that no one was available & that I could check the website for new available times for repair. I have now called a local repair tech and they have assured me that they will be out this morning to assist me with this problem. I would rather pay more to have the problem fixed correctly than to deal with LG. My entire kitchen is KitchenAid except for the refrigerator, I liked the LG better when I was looking for new appliances. WHAT A MISTAKE!

Noise! Popping, knocking noises from my LG side-by-side Refrigerator! At first, I only noticed it happening at night. Now, they are happening in daytime as well. Sometimes, it is really loud! OMG. What a runaround, On Jan 14 2018 the unit (LG Armoire door in door 2 year old refrigerator) was not cooling. Spoke to a rep in the Philippines. Advised would contact tech and order part. She would follow up with an authorization code, which also never happened. On Jan 18, 2018, called LG Executive Service in Alabama for an authorization code and was advised would be set up with a Sears repair company. Finally on Jan 25, 2018 the repairman came and guess what - no authorization code in the system and I would have a $700 repair for a compressor which needed to be ordered. His manager would not speak to a “customer“. Finally I called executive service at LG in Alabama again and was confirmed that it was never set up correctly. She did set it up today, Jan 25, 2018. The service tech was now able to order the parts and would call me back with a time and date for him to come back to install the parts. So, going on more than 10 days of phone calls and waiting will continue for another unacceptable time. Stay tuned! This story seems to be repeated in all the reviews. Very sad for such a large company with beautiful, expensive appliances.

We have a WM2301HS bought in Sept 2010 and after a few months, we noticed that the are grease-like stains on some of the clothes, but not all the time. It is a pain to get those stains out. Some comments suggested the contents of the laundry are to blame, but judging from the complaints, we are not alone. Did anyone get this solved? All in all, this machine works great (and looks good). The only service call (yes, life was not good) we had at the beginning was to put a missing clamp on the bottom drain of the gasket (how could they miss that in assembly?).

Did research when we built our new home on 2014 for a new washer and dryer... LG reviews seemed good. We were dead wrong. We have a top loading washer and matching dryer. This washer is ridiculous beyond compare. Clothes never seem clean, but the worst part is it is constantly unbalancing and using up tons of power and water. LG support said nothing they can do... WHAT??? The dryer, I have yet to have ONE SINGLE LOAD completely dry my clothes without having to restart it at least an additional cycle. I cant believe LG gets away with making a product so lame. STAY FAR, FAR, FAR AWAY!!! No stars is what their products deserve.

This was the biggest mistake buying the LG LFX 2578ST. After only 6 months the compressor conked out. LG has left us waiting for a replacement compressor on order that will take 2 or 3 days at which point the repair person would be sent out. I have always bought Miele and Bosch appliances but because we had space limitations the LG was perfect, looked good and had all the features we needed. The fridge I replaced was 12 years old and we never had a problem with it. LG has been less than helpful and really left us stranded with no fridge. I have no confidence in their product and customer service has been disappointing. They are not solution focused, have no intention of replacing the fridge and state they will cover only $250 in perishables in a lifetime. I would not recommend this product, have found the entire experience frustrating. This is a company that does not stand behind their product nor do they practice the art of great customer service.

My LG refrigerator LFC23760SW started breaking after a few months of normal use (we dont have any children at home), just my husband and I and we take care of our things. Purchased in 2009 and the problems with this piece of expensive junk (which cost around $2000) started fairly soon. All the shelves have literately fallen apart. Just placing an item on one of the main shelves caused it to break on both sides so I had to remove it. Now we have almost no shelves left in this horrible excuse for an appliance. LG response: They will sell us more shelves of the same quality at the price of $90 per shelf. Never again will I purchase one of their items.

It had literally been over a month with this issue!! The compressor went out on my fridge. I already knew that, contacted LG and they still had to send someone out to “diagnose” to tell me the same thing, which leads to them ordering parts that they could’ve had already if they had listened. So first of all why give an 8-12 window when the tech shows up at 2. Not once but twice!! Now, I wish I was joking, but they are sending someone out again for the 4th freaking time to fix this damn thing!! Please stop wasting everyone’s time and just junk out this worthless unit. Please believe me, never again LG products. It’s said that I work in retail and have shown them much love, that definitely ends today. I will definitely never recommend, sell or talk highly of. Count on that. What a waste of time and money. Not to mention, not being able to cook meals at home and wasting so much money on having to buy takeout and food spoil. Can’t believe this.

I purchased a DLGX3471V dryer and I have to say, I so regret tossing my perfectly good Kenmore for this piece of junk. It never fails but EVERY load I dry comes out with ripped and torn clothing from catching on the lint tray that no longer fits into the door slot. The plastic breaks apart and catches on the clothes (especially bra straps and tank tops) making them unusable. I have lost a ton of pants and shirts being mangled and ripped by the broken pieces of plastic on the lint tray. I have ordered and replaced the screen twice since it was purchased (3 screens in 4 years). Avoid LG products - hopefully whomever came up with this design no longer works for the company!

In my opinion, LG is a brand that incline as far as technology. I trust them to use the most up to date equipment when putting their products together. But in my opinion the initial cost of the refrigerator was a bit pricey. Over 700 dollars was a bit out of my price range for what came with the product. There was no ice machine. And the space made for the freezer was considerably small for the price. To me it should have at least came with a ice maker. Even though a bit pricey, I am overall satisfied with my purchase. My last refrigerator was a complete joy. It worked extremely well and never gave me any electrical issues. All food stored were kept at the proper temperature and never spoiled. I would definitely recommend.

Purchased this expensive machine (1400 AUD) in July 2012 and started breaking down in 2016 with 200 AUD spent on repairs in the last 6 months. The computer control unit has now died with an estimated repair and replacement cost l of 1000 AUD (500 for the part and 500 to do the replacement including call out). So have effectively had 4.5 years out of this machine. While the motor has a 10-year warranty the computer control does not so this equates to 311 AUD/year. The washing machine I had before this one lasted 8 years with much lower repair costs. My conclusion is that LG front loader not sufficiently reliable as it did even 5 years without needing repairs, which is what I expect out of a washing machine. Will give Samsung a try this time - LG is now on my banned list for repeat customer business - suggest you consider this if thinking of buying LG.

Around 100 hours in the phone taken from my work time. I have spoken to at least 30 people from LGE.... I sent sticker with serial number, proof of purchase, address, email.... Not even one call back from LGE and always expecting an email back before 72 hours. Multiple DRNs that got cancelled without even being notified. What kind of customer support is this?

Our 25-year-old Kitchen Aid dishwasher died and sadly our landlord replaced it with an LG dishwasher. Whether it works to our satisfaction has yet to be seen; the design is my big complaint. We are bending over literally almost to the floor to load the dishes. I own some giant pots, but none big enough to justify the enormous gap between the top and bottom shelves. Its ridiculous. I actually stubbed my toe and injured myself on the open door, which practically rests on the ground! The prongs are lined too far apart to economically place small dishes and plates and all in a row, so attempting to find a sensible way to group like dishes and glasses is pointless. Fortunately, we hadnt thrown away the utensil tray from the Kitchen Aid; I dont understand the covers on the junky LG tray, some of which stay open and some dont. Its just a cheaply and poorly designed, impractical product.

Our LG washer/dryer is less than 5 years old. We bought these top of the line machines since we are getting older and wanted to be trouble-free for the foreseeable future. This year, we had to replace both circuit boards on the dryer. Then after that, the drum would not turn and the motor just buzzed. So we had to replace the motor too. A little reading on the internet and it seems that many people have had the same problem with the centrifugal switch on the motor, circuit boards needing replacement is common as well. Now, the washing machine has started to make a loud, squeaking sound when it runs. My old washer/dryer combo was purchased in 1986 and was still working perfectly in 2007 when we bought the LG units. We paid a premium for a top of the line, but we sure didnt get a top of the line reliability.

This product (LG WM5000HWA) has been shaking violently. I reported this issue and LG sent a technician out to look at it. He claimed that I was not using HE detergent. Lied! I purchased this from Costco and concierge tried to have LG come out again. Second technician came and did not do service. They saw the machine spins and machine shook violently with the correct amount of HE detergent used. They then called LG second tier support and when the machine shook the one that was suppose to see it said his video froze. They couldnt stay any longer due to their next appointment and told me that they would report this to. Lied! At this time I have been on the phone with Costco for 15 times and hours or more each time. Distressed and disgusted with the lies blaming the consumer for not using the wrong detergent and claimed they didnt see any shaking. LG then scheduled their in subcontractor to take a look for second opinion, took a day off. They didnt showed up or called for no showed. Costco called and had another subcontractor to come a look. This technician was ethical and did report that this machine shook but LG didnt do anything. 3 months now and they said their machine has no issue when this twin wash washing machine shook horrible. I had them on video that this shook and technician did see it but they refused to look at the videos I recorded! I will never buy any LG products and will discontinued my membership with Costco. This product is the latest line of product with only several months of use. Disappointed for them wasting my time and my money on on this purchase. Oh tech even told me I had to wan socks with socks separated. Pants with pants. Shirts with shirts. These idiots talk to you like you come from the Stone Age. Im in IT and work with software and hardwares. I hope these will eventually blowed up and eventually LG will lose 1 billion dollars due to defective product that they claimed the user is doing it!!! I purchased these 2 items less than 5 months ago. The fridge stopped making ice, and the range is not working at all. I called LG and they sent a tech to fix it. He ordered a part, replaced it, and still the same, now they canceled todays appt, for no reason, and apparently tomorrow another tech will come to check again, then they will keep changing parts and guessing what it is. I told Customer Service that I have been like these for 2 wks already, with nowhere to cook, and I needed these to be fix ASAP. I told them to please change my new range for another one. Mine has become refurbish since they keep replacing parts, its not original no more. But LG continues to allegate, that they cannot do anything but just wait for the tech to see what it is. They say they cannot change my equipment for a new one, it can ONLY be repaired. I hope any issues like this will be covered under the Manufacturers Warranty, but I can see this is not true. At the end the Consumer can not even respond in the proper way and solve anything. What a shame. I am very disappointed, and for sure WILL NOT BUY OR RECOMMEND THIS BRAND TO ANYBODY.

We received our new LG top load washing machine at the beginning of Feb. 2016. Mid March (not even two months!). We noticed all dress shirts and golf shirts were coming out with oily spots on them. Contacted Home Depot who directed us to LG. So, we did contact LG since Mar 21st. You cant reach customer service right away; each customer service rep tells you so many different things. Customer service asks you if you are using HE detergent or fabric softener, and then tells you to try tub clean with clean water then with bleach which didnt solve the problem. The technician LG sends tells you it is what youre putting in the washing machine is the problem. One customer service rep tells you once the technician looked at it, it will be escalated to Mgmt. for exchange; another rep tells you it is rejected and asks you more tub clean while your dirty clothes is piling up. The next minute, the rep on the phone tells you that they dont have an updated report from the technician. Terrible machine and service!!! Wrong machine to get!!! I have yet to wash a load that does not become unbalanced, and I have tried several different combinations of laundry items. The machine WILL rebalance the load - but it does this by jiggling and REfilling with water and spinning again. That process can be repeated as many times as necessary unless I intervene and redistribute the clothes myself. One day I left it alone to see what would happen and it washed for 2 hours! Energy Efficient?? No way - it uses too much water and takes too long even on the supposedly shortest cycles. Im going to donate it and get a brand I have had before and that has an agitator. I purchased a new LG TrueBalance washer. I hate it. Example: I just tried to do a short wash with two pairs of slacks, a mens shirt, and a tee-top. After 1 hour of having the washer stop due to off balance signal 5 times, repositioning contents each time, and restarting cycle and still not getting any further along -- I pulled the clothes out and am now trying to get the washer to finish cycle empty. This was not a unique experience. Unless I jam the washer full so that nothing can virtually move -- it takes me an entire day (at minimum 12 hours) to do 6 loads of clothes. I would never ever again purchase a washer without a center agitator, the ability to fill washer and leave for overnight soaking (which I cant now), and get rid of all of this computer bologna! UPDATE: The off balance signal just went off again with the washer empty! If you are shopping for a washer -- do not get blinded by all the new/many bells and whistles.

Telling us it will be July 30 before we can get someone out here. We have now gone two weeks without a refrigerator and they want us to go in entire month! It is unacceptable that I would pay this much money for an appliance only to have it break down and then not be repaired for a month. Having to live with ice coolers stacked in my kitchen. Lost everything in my refrigerator and in my freezer. This is one unhappy customer.

I purchased an LG stove brand new on 3/28/2018. My stove would not heat this morning on the top or in the oven. I contacted my appliance repairman. My terminal block had a burned connection! Not even a year and a half old yet. Safety record will be my first choice next time.

This is my first LG. It is hands down the best machine I have used over 50 years. Its quick, quiet, easy to operate and clothes come out clean. It is also easy to keep clean. Can it get any better than that?

I purchased a LG refrigerator Lfc25760st from Home Depot. Within 1st year the plastic parts inside were cracking and falling apart. It started with the wheels popping off the drawers like they were nothing. I called only to have them accuse me of being extremely rough with my new refrigerator. Then said I had to get someone out there to look at it. Guess what? I live 2 hours from the nearest service dept. So Id have to pay for that, mind you its still under warranty at that point. I call and find out Ill have to pay the 50.00 and 0.35 per mile of which LG will not reimburse me. So, I just skip it because at that point the drawers still side out without the elcheapo made wheels. Then everything else begins to crack and break. So I call again.Im so mad because they will not help me and its now 100% clear that its LGs fault this is happening. I have my old GE side by side that is 20 years old, been through teenagers, young kids and moving 3 times. Its still running and the insides are great. Not the LG!! My drawers all falling in! The rails have cracked and the drawers fronts are even cracking off. Never has there been such a completely uncaring company that is unwilling to rectify problems that are obviously their fault. Its time for a class action law suit. They went cheap on production for these refrigerators and we the consumer trusted this company to produce a quality appliance. I now walk away from everything LG and Im not the only one.So much for wanting a nice stainless french door refrigerator for my kitchen. I have contacted the company over 6 times and get nothing but run around. I even tried to get them to at least give me some type of discount on all the parts that are broken that should not be. It will be well over 400.00 to replace all the broken parts not including shipping. I have talked to other people that the exact same thing happened with them. LG also told them they have never heard of these problems before. Gave them the exact same run around. They replace their insides only to have them all break again. Im done. Its lawyer time.

LSG4513ST.BSTELGA / Range danger for burn/natural gas leaking. This range has had issues since day one. Serviced one time by LG tech who said; Ive replaced the components with the updated parts; but that wont fix the problem. We the owners and guests have accidentally turned burners on and burned ourselves. An even bigger, more dangerous problem is the burners being on enough to leak gas and not light; or when on low; the flame will go out and continue to fill the home with natural gas until you notice. After several months of trying and finding out the LG factory repair person in the area; no longer works for LG; we have an appointment scheduled with an authorized service company. I would rather just have it replaced and preferably before a serious injury, fire or explosion takes place!

PLEASE DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!! I dont even know where to begin. This is the second LG refrigerator I bought to replace the first one that could never be fixed properly. I splurged on a 3-door French Door with an ice maker and water in the door. It was purchased in 2009 and had problems right away. Within the first few months, the gaskets on the French doors ripped. I had a private company come out to fix them. When the company indicated to me that I might want to inform LG directly of my problem, I did. A lengthy, almost year-long process ensued. To this day, I have a 3-door French Door refrigerator that does not work properly. The ice maker flap in the door does not close, causing the ice to melt. It has permanently damaged my hardwood flooring. The gaskets have been replaced no less than three times and they still tear. LG customer service representatives, Garrett and Kuzi ** have told me that they will no longer pay to service the refrigerator and unless I pay for another service call, they will not pro-rate a new refrigerator. How sad and disappointing that I feel as though they lied to me and promised a pro-rate that they never followed through with. I truly hope this makes you think twice before buying an LG French door refrigerator. I have lost all confidence in this manufacturers ability to provide customer service. Their representatives can easily quote ridiculous policies that they must follow but they have absolutely no sense of a customers frustration over spending $2500 on a refrigerator that has NEVER worked properly.

Our French door fridge with bottom freezer stopped cooling/freezing. The fridge has a production date of 07/2017. I called the service department and the earliest appointment is June 17th. I called today at 9:30 am June 8th. As a result I have had to purchase a small fridge as going 10 days without a fridge is not possible. It is very disappointing and will influence any other purchases.

I purchased LG Dryer 7.4 cu ft. Electric in White Model # DLE3170W May 10, 2015 from The Home Depot in a computer. The dryer was delivered on May 13, 2015. 2 weeks later problem start. Lint catcher is distorted and right side is raising up during the time when the dryer is working. Then is catching clothes or anything that is in dryer and tearing or creating a ball. The normal time that should be in a drying time 1 hour and 7 minutes is 2 hours and the clothes look like they exit from the snake throat. I would never buy this machine if I know what this product is doing. I hope LG will take the responsibility for it.

A search for class action LG refrigerator will provide all the details required to understand the problems I and so many others have experienced. LG was of no help, replying to service requests with email that I can only hope was machine generated. Of the replies received the solution recommended was to pay them more money. We didnt subscribe to the fridge, we purchased it.

I have an LG side-by-side refrigerator. Keeps freezing up. Ive had service work on it. I have changed the parts out on it, put new parts in it and it continues to freeze up. I have called the service people about it. No one wants to seem to help me and I too have had a bad experience with LG and I would not recommend to buy LG products to anyone especially that home products as far as the stove refrigerator or the dishwasher. Im hoping that I can get this resolved or are thinking of getting people together to file a lawsuit.

We purchased a counter-depth LG refrigerator (Model LFX25991ST) 4 years ago. The ice dispenser switch went bad. Then in June, 2017, the compressor failed and had to be replaced. In August, 2017, the evaporator fan failed and had to be replaced. We have lost all confidence in the refrigerator. There are many one-stars ratings for a reason.LG Warranty: When I called LG (good luck getting someone let alone someone you can understand), the customer service representative told me that parts are generally covered for 10 years, but labor is not. An authorized LG repairman can inspect the unit (usually for a fee) and order the parts from LG for free, but you pay for their labor to install the parts. If you dont use an authorized LG repairman, you will need to pay for both the parts and labor (but their labor charges are often a lot less, so the total cost may well be similar).

We purchased a brand new LG Refrigerator LFX33975 fall of 2013 prior to moving into our new home. In less than a year 1/2, we noticed the bottom of the left side door beginning to rust on the bottom side. Directly below the ICE/WATER dispenser due to a manufacturers leaking problem. We called LGs warranty department and they sent an LG specialist to come out and take a look at our complaint. He determined that there was a leak caused by the ice and water dispenser. The leak was due to a manufacturers default. Because the dispenser should have never leaked out into the bottom of the door frame which caused the rust. The LG specialist said he would have to order a new door and a new ice maker that were shipped directly to our home. He then called to find out if both parts had been delivered and we told him yes. We then arranged an appointment for him to come out and replace these parts. Now they want us to be responsible for the repair cost of $224.70 that they should have come out and repaired at their cost. We are even being harassed by a collection agency which even sent us a letter demanding payment. Such an expensive fridge should not have this problem especially being just over one year of owning this fridge. I am sure that there are many disappointed customers dealing with the same manufacturers defect. They deserve to have a class action suit put on them. If LG is harassing us like this I can just imagine how awful they are to others. I will never again buy any LG products in the future!!! WE ARE NOT PAYING FOR THEIR MISTAKE!!!

Save yourself a lot of time and money, dont buy LG! A very poor product and their customer service is a joke! They do not stand behind their products at all. Our LG Front Load Washer did not make it two years before we had problems. LG said they would be happy to help if we gave them $400. Agree with all the other comments made by consumers. The 1.5 star is generous!

I purchased the LG Smart Drum top-loading washing machine a few years ago. The clothes come out very wrinkled. I now put almost all my laundry in the dryer; it helps remove the severe wrinkling. I used to just hang clothes up after washing them. Now it takes more energy: my own, and the electricity. I just finished ironing a top which I have had for well over a decade, used to just remove it, nice and clean, from my beloved Kenmore front loader, and hang it up. This was the case with all my clothes. I purchased my machine at The Brick, had to leave the country for a few months, and when I returned it was too late to have the unit replaced. Cant really fault The Brick, but they should know these machines are not-so-great. I have read the other reviews on this site, and my experience is not as truly awful as many others. But I will stay well away from LG in the future, and do more homework before purchasing.

I have been more than satisfied by the performance of this refrigerator brand, for almost 12 years now and its still working. Only this previous days when I notice that it stops performing what it intends to do. As I am an aircon technician myself, I immediately examine the unit and the only problem that I found is the PCB control needs to be replace. Thats all. The last time that I service other LG ref, I can easily bought those parts and, voila, its good as new. But now they change those policy. You cant buy the parts now. They keep on insisting that they will only do repairs, so I keep on wondering - how will they do some repairs for those minute parts of electronics in the PCB & keep the customer waiting for weeks? Are these the way they treat consumer after? So now Im considering to buy another ref. Perhaps as a consumer weve got to stick to the brand from the past for good after sales service even though the appliance is long overdue in service. Ive been with the LG service when its a GOLDSTAR brand name. Its their first brand name when they enter the market and they keep on saying that we need to satisfy & address the consumer needs & complaints for us to be known & admired by... so what now that this is one giant brand name???

From day 1, my machine leaked. I called and was told it was due to using too much detergent. I thought that may be the problem and used below the normal line every cycle. Still sporadically, there are leaks below the machine. As I called and was told over and over again, my machine is fine. I let my machine go out of warranty. Now beyond leaking, it stops mid-cycle often so I have to sit next to the machine while washing clothes to restart it and finish cycles. Beyond that, sometimes it gets stuck at 9 minutes left and starts spinning and stops spinning over and over again. Beyond that, when it is filling up, the valves close so quickly it causes all the pipes in my house to shake and bang causing leaks in pipes. Something needs to be done about this. LG should stand behind their product.
