I have an LG refrigerator (model LFX25974, less than 2 years old) that after 3 hours of diagnostics probably needs a new compressor. Working with the service representatives who are located in the Philippines is a nightmare. You cannot reply to any e-mails and so you never know if your problem has been totally solved. Mine was not for three weeks and then to find out the labor charge will probably be more than a new refrigerator. Please DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR. If you do, be sure to get the extended warranty because you will surely be needing it.

My mom actually suggested that I picked that brand and I thought it would be good to give it a try since Ive never had one before. So far its been good. I think its perfect as it is. It has everything that I need in a fridge. I like the double doors on top and the fridge on the bottom. I think its more convenient that way since I use more stuff in the fridge. I dont have to climb on the floor.

I purchased an LG refrigerator model LFC25776 ST/06 in May 2013. A little over a year later, just out of warranty, it required its first service call to replace a fan geode. Now 2 1/2 years after the purchase, the compressor is shot and get this, although the compressor itself is covered by warranty, the labor is not! So Im out over $500 to repair a practically new refrigerator. When I told a neighbor, she said she had the same experience with her LG refrigerator. The compressor went out in under 2 years. There should be a class action suit against this company.

Been over 2 months since 7-month-old LG refrigerator, French Door Model No. LFXC24726S (over $3,000), broke down destroying all contents. Contacted LG support May 11, 2015. After more than 2 hours on phone, finally convinced non-English speaking L.G. employee that we had serious problem and needed service. L.G. told me it was my fault because I didnt know how to close the freezer door!L.G. warranty repairman, a good quality & well-run company, determined a bad compressor. A 2nd employee at L.G.s authorized warranty contractor said that given the nature of the problem, they were going to ask for a replacement refrigerator. L.G. denied the request for a new refrigerator & repairman visited again (2 weeks to receive ordered compressor) and replaced the compressor. The replacement compressor functioned for about 1 week and then completely broke down again. Warranty repairman visited for 3rd time to determine 2nd compressor problem. Diagnosis was a bad replacement compressor plus a computer board needed to be replaced. Parts were again ordered & then a 4th visit from the repairman. When he returned to install, he spoke with a L.G. technician on the phone who would not allow the new parts to be installed unless the repairman completed a special test. The warranty company did not have the required equipment to do what L.G. requested, so he was not permitted by L.G. to install the 2nd new compressor or the computer board. The suggestion was made that we start all over with a new L.G. warranty contractor. The original contractor will attempt to see if his management will acquire the required equipment. We have now been without a refrigerator for over 2 months & had 4 repairman visits. The authorized service and the retailer who sold us the refrigerator have made multiple requests for a new refrigerator to replace this LEMON... always the same answer: NO, not warranted. L.G. will never honor its warranty. They are not a reputable company. Whomever reads this review, NEVER ever buy any L.G. product. If you do, you will be very unhappy.UPDATE: Monday, 7-13-15 at 8:41 a.m. - J & M Appliance repair called to cancel our 7-14-15 appt. between 8:00 & 11:00 a.m. (5th visit). Calling to cancel the appt. for tomorrow in reference to L.G. refrigerator. I do have a note here from my senior tech. He is advising that you contact L.G. and have them send out a different (authorized) service provider. The reason being is L.G. does not want to supply us the Micron gauge for the units. So at this point, we will not be there on Tuesday between 8 & 11. And again, you can contact L.G. at 1-800-000-000 and have them send out a different company for your repair. Thank you. We have been trying to get Warranty repair from L.G. for over 2 months and now we have to start all over!!! Words fail me...

My refrigerator is 6 years old. The ice maker needed to be replaced when it was six months old then the ice maker does not adequately produce enough ice. The door spring just broke two months ago. The drawer is broken. The plastic on the shelves have fallen off and the ice maker lever fell off a year ago. It is not a quality refrigerator for the price of $2200.00 made by LG. I also purchased the LG dishwasher at the same time and had to have service on it 5 times. It never cleaned the dishes very well and I tried to talk to customer service at LG and not only were they rude, the woman in customer service was threatening and nasty to me on the phone. I went two months at one time without a dishwasher when the dishwasher was fairly new. The customer service did not want to hear from me or help me in any way. This dishwasher cost $700. I had it for 5 years and had to get rid of it. Needless to say, I will never purchase LG appliances again.

Purchased LMXS30776S/02 fridge from H. H. Gregg in May of 2016, actually delivered in July. We were replacing a 10-year old Frigidaire gallery/professional side-by-side that was difficult to open fully due to our kitchen configuration. Aside from an occasional evaporator fan failure ($10.00 and 20 minute fix for a novice like myself), it never gave us a single problem and was a beautiful unit. The salesman raved about the durability of the LG linear compressor. We opted for a 5-year extended warranty (which is now defunct as the company that services this will not answer customer requests via their web page... which is the only form of contact). It began on 04/16/2019 and ended in the complete lack of cooling sometime around midnight. The fan is running, compressor is running but noisy, no cooling, coils room temperature. I attempted to contact LG, but they dont answer the phone... They send you a troubleshooting email and then refer you to expensive 3rd party repair services once out of the 1 year (criminal) parts and labor warranty. Looking at parts, a compressor for an average fridge (in a kit with isolators, drier, harnesses, valve, etc) is around $150.00 for the average Electrolux/Frigidaire or equivalent. Sure, there is some soldering. The same bare compressor for the LG is nearly $400.00 (because you can charge what the market will bear, forget being fair). The drier is an additional $60.00. Im guessing that installation is basically going to be less than the total of the parts as is customary, and then there is the charge for vacuuming it down and installing the 4.76oz of R134 refrigerant. Not to mention the warped subfloor under our fridge from the ice in the ice maker melting everywhere and the loss of a few hundred dollars in groceries. Again, criminal. There was a class-action lawsuit, however our fridge was brand new when this witch hunt began, so we had no reason to look for such a thing. Now that it has failed prematurely, I learn that warranties were extended for the few rather than the many. All in all, Id like to thank LG for being so classy about ignoring this issue and the customers who paid a small fortune hoping that you actually do get what you pay for or at least be treated fairly when a problem did arise... just to find out that a college dorm fridge was probably a better deal. Thanks, LG. I hope your reputation eventually catches up with you!

We bought a home with an LG French door freezer on bottom refrigerator. The compressor failed suddenly, we lost all of our food. I’ve since learned from other stories that LG compressors are not reliable. When I called LG, I was told that because we did not know when the unit was purchased, they would only honor their seven year sealed system repair warranty from the date of manufacture, which was (drumrolls) seven years and three months ago. Despite the fact that the refrigerator was very likely purchased less than seven years ago, they would not pay for the repair. We decided not to go forward with the repair, as I am uninterested in paying for repairs to a shoddy product. We bought a new refrigerator, naturally not an LG. We won’t be considering any LG products in the future, as any company that would cut corners with a central element of their product, and then treat customers in such a rigid, bureaucratic manner is not to trusted.

Unfortunately we have the exact complaints as everyone else!! Do NOT buy LG products! They do not last and even worse is the customer service. We have been trying to get our refrigerator fixed for a month and a half. 3 times they’ve sent out a technician and 2 of those three times they cancelled the appointment the day of. Spent an hour on the phone with customer service just to be mocked by a representative (John **) when I expressed frustration that our refrigerator went out after only 3 years....Oh wow, really, 3 years, hmmmm very sarcastically!

I am so fed up with my two LG front load washers which I purchased in August, 2006. 1 1/2 years ago the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer. Six months ago, the hot water valve had to be replaced in #2 washer. Today the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer again. I paid over $2,000.00 for these washers. Doesnt anything last more than 4 years? Next time Im buying top loading, cheap washers so when they break, I will just throw them out and buy new ones.

This refrigerator is made with weak plastic parts and cheap plastic mechanisms that crack and break after a few months, including the hinge mechanism for the door. I spend over $100 on replacement parts; one of the spare parts that I got in the mail was defective. I have never ever owned a refrigerator that required repair work for the shelves and drawers or any other component. Do not buy LG refrigerator. They are poorly designed and are costly to repair. Additionally, this refrigerator does not hold the temperature well and is not good for storing meat, especially chicken or fish.

I purchased my LG front load steam washer, model WM2501HWA, in April of 2010. It worked fine until May 2014 when it just stopped mid-spin cycle. It totally lost all power. I checked the obvious, tripped breaker switch, plugs, and all was fine. So I called a repair company that was recommended to me by a friend. They diagnosed the problem as a bad power board. It was also recommended that I replace the noise filter at the same time. Parts and labor would be over $300 not including diagnostic fee. After waiting a month for the parts, they installed them and it worked. After about 6 loads it died again! Ive been waiting for the new parts and its been over a month! I asked the repair company if they could just refund my money so I could just get a new one and they said they wanted to install the new parts first. They have yet to receive my parts and I am spending $25 a week at the laundromat. The first mistake I made was buying an LG washer and dryer. My second mistake was calling a bad repair company. I am currently out $300 and have no working washer. I am so mad!! Dont buy LG!!!

Should have started reading all the previous complaints... well I didnt. Then on Jan. 7, 2017 I received the LE message and the unit stopped working all together and smelling like it was on fire inside. I called the LG customer service where I was told I was out of warranty that they could sell me a one time fix for $305, this would include a technician coming out diagnosing the issue and all parts and labor. I paid for it, the first repairman came (1/13/17) he unplugged the machine, pressed start and then power for 10 seconds each, plugged it back in and told my husband it was fixed... NOT... I called back, they told me they would send a new technician. He came out on 1/16/17 and said the issue was UNDER WARRANTY (10 year warranty on motor) and the motor is SHOT. He would order the parts and come back out... when... he didnt know. Today is 1/30/17 and after speaking to the repairman who is STILL waiting to get the parts from LG... I spent ONE AND 1/2 HOUR on HOLD with LG and got NO RESPONSE... THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN HELL GET THE PARTS. Im at my wits end and just want to get my $305 back and go buy a new machine. I am so disappointed in LG and will never purchase another LG product.

The Model No.GL-D372RLJM has a very serious design defect: it possesses an irreparable heater plate which is a crucial part of the defrosting system. Once this heater plate cracks, cooling of the lower section of the fridge stops and the whole fridge must be trashed. Our fridge developed this problem when it was only 5 years old. After a lengthy wait, LG made an exchange offer, in which the worth of this fridge was deemed just 15% of the original purchase price. A fridge having a life span of 5 years is ridiculous. Equally insane is the policy of making the customer pay for LG’s own design defect.

In the past 4 months I have had 2 of the 4 LG products I own go out or have issues. Attempting to get these products repaired or service which are under warranty is difficult. LG does not have enough service techs to cover their area of service. Which causes for extend wait and service times. Which is fine if one of your devices is a TV. Purchased two LG refrigerators both breaking down same way. Thought the first time was just defect; now after reading blogs and comments just poor manufacturing. On the first unit 1mth after buying, fresh food storage stopped keeping food cold and freezer stopped freezing. After 3 attempts to fix through LG, I refused a fourth try. They refused to exchange. Home Depot absorbed the loss and exchanged the refrigerator, which they didnt have to do. Now 2.5yrs later of course bought LG, like I said 1st time bad luck. Now again refrigerator not cooling, had to throw out food last night and again today and the freezer now not working, of course, warranty expired after first year, and they cant help me. Have 4 kids, can barely afford to buy food and make it last. Now Im throwing it away and cant get help. Why would a Refrigerator stop working only after 2 1/2 years? Poor manufacturing. After checking internet blogs and complaints, found out thousands of customers have had the same problems, have been reported it, and have gotten no help, have to pay out of pocket and have someone come in and diagnose the problem then order the part directly through LG. The company should be ashamed of its self for not resolving a problem like this when families buy their products because of past reputation of being reliable - $1200.00 paid and only lasted 2.5years. Now will cost me between $200.-300.00 for the repair. I will never recommend or purchase another LG product again. Thats why they only warranty their products for 1yr only. For a purchase this big and important storing food and knowing all families and people in general have the use for this item, they would have more integrity.

Ive had this fridge for over 3 years and it finally stopped cooling and making ice in April. LG has sent out 3 different technicians to repair it but none of them seems to know what is wrong with it. One tech said the issue was with the compressor, they ordered the part, when the tech came to install the new compressor he said there is nothing wrong with the compressor. It is the motherboard that went out. He returned to install the new motherboard and it is still not working. There is an issue with this particular fridge based on all the reviews Ive seen online. They need to do a recall on this fridge since it is a manufacturing issue and replace all those fridges that people are issues with. I am still waiting for my issue to be resolved.

Well, Ive finally had it with this machine. We bought it & the matching electric dryer from former homeowners when we bought their house. Guess we should have done more research into the plethora of problems these sorry excuse for an appliance really have. These junkers wouldve been out on the road the second we moved in. First, within a month the dryer died. One morning I turned it on & it started smoking, so that was that. Out to the curb! Next, we had been using the LG steam washer for about 4 months & continually noticed water on the floor around it. Never really found where it was coming from other than a drip streak down the side around the detergent drawer where you add the soap/bleach. Another issue was the door lock kept malfunctioning & wouldnt let the load run unless you either slammed the door shut or put pressure on it with your knee when it was trying to lock. Then the thing would sound like a 747 taking off when it was in spin mode. It would shake violently & eventually wake up the baby with its deafening whir. Finally, it showed an error message saying the pump wasnt able to drain the tub because of a clog or something. So I got on my hands & knees to screw open the drain trap & 5 gallons of water came gushing out all over the floor. There is a small rubber hose down there also, but when I took out the plug on the end of it no water drained out. What gives LG? Do you need a wet/dry vac at the ready to do this procedure or a stack of towels so you dont trash the floor? Very poor design! And doing this did absolutely nothing. Same error code came up & the pump just sickly rumbled. So it is now out on the curb also awaiting a trip to the dump where it belongs. Please, everyone, do not buy these piece of refuse appliances from LG. You will only bring upon yourself great pain & grief. Time to break out the old GE top loader that I know works fine. Glad I held onto it for back up. DONT BUY LG!!!

We purchased an entire kitchen of LG appliances in July 2010. Double oven, dishwasher, cooktop and fridge all have needed repairs within the first year. The LF25976 fridge has multiple issues, but the most pervasive is the ice maker not working. I usually research major purchases thoroughly, but I let my wife choose. These are the most unreliable appliances on the market. I will never by LG again. I have made a point to inform as many of our relatives and friends of our experience as possible.

In 2010, my husband and I saved up our money to purchase a new washer and dryer. I had heard great things about the front loaders and LG so we bought it. I have had such a bad experience with this washer and dryer. The time has never been accurate. I have to use the drain and spin multiple times. The dryer takes over 3 hours to dry. These problems are not from the fact that its 5 years old. Its been like this since I bought it. I am very unsatisfied with this product and will be changing brands and types as soon as possible. Not worth wasting your money!

I have had several repairman but the same thing keeps happening. Now Home Depot sent me a check for $900.00 rather than replace the unit. What can I get for 900.00? A mini fridge? Installed unit from 7/15/2016. Morning 12/24/2019 wife noted dripping water into unit from front upper ice maker. Upper 56/lower 54 degrees. Merry Christmas, family coming, 12lb ham for Christmas & 10lb brisket for Christmas Eve. Immediately connected with LG phone & Clark the virtual voice response system. After 2 quick checks on virtual phone; 1) Yes unit is level and doors closed, 2) No change in fridge 37 degree setting recently; Clark at main office determined required service person & sent text message to file form online. Performed immediately & attached scanned copy 12/24/2019 of all prior receipt/invoicing paperwork for original install. Confirmed upon completion same time that original registration was in system by logging onto original registration account. NO RESPONSE after confirmation online that they had received my input or assigned anyone from local service. On 12/26/2019 evening located 2 available LG service centers in area from LG website, still no follow-up directly and no means noted to do such. Left voice message with one local service center 12/26. Next morning 12/27 called them again and resubmitted my invoice/installation paperwork for warranty confirmation to them via email & scheduled earliest available service visit for Tuesday 12/31/2019. Diagnosis 12/31 -> failed compressor. LG class-action lawsuit noted; still no follow-up from LG Main Office directly after original online submittal & confirmation of receipt. Local service anticipates once LG receives their paperwork end of day when he returns to office & LG re-certifies/validates original purchase/registration; then typically 7-10 business days for LG to send parts to them. Different person will install compressor once they reschedule fix/install. Warranty paperwork indicates Parts on LG, all labor on me. Wish there was a direct way to speak with a real person at LG main office to address issues & receive proper confirmation of path forward for wife/family planning next few weeks without fridge/freezer - Ouch! Is anybody there???

Bought my refrigerator model LFX33975ST in 2013. Had high hopes I wouldnt have to purchase another unit for a long time but to my surprise two years later, Im looking at doing just that! My husband and I usually research products pretty good before purchasing them so we thought LG was a good choice -- WRONG. After two years, my refrigerator has stopped cooling. LGs Customer Service told me to contact a repairman to confirm the problem was the compressor and if so, they would mail a new part to me. The problem was the compressor, but the repairman told me they would not repair the refrigerator even if LG provided the part. I called another repairman but they refused to even to come out to look at it once I told him it was a LG refrigerator. I called LG back (after five days had passed) to check the status of my repair request and after being put on hold for 15-20 minutes, the person told me he was unable to get a hold of anyone and gave me three numbers I could call for service. The person at the last number I called was very helpful and honest. She told me she could schedule someone to come out to look at the unit but I would have to provide proof of purchase before they could do anything per LGs company policy. I was never told that by LGs Customer Service and at that point, it became very obvious to me I may not ever get my refrigerator fixed. Thumbs down LG - I will never buy one of your products again; oh no, too late -- earlier this year we purchased a new LG dishwasher and washer/dryer... yeps!!!

I purchased stove on 17 August 2016, today as I was wiping off the stove top one with Dawn dish soap and soft dishcloth I noted that a spot on the coating of the center grate had peeled off. It looks as though it will spread. I have not used any harsh chemicals, cloths, or abrasive scrapers. I have only used the center grate ONE time. I called customer service and was told to call the parts people since my 1 year warranty had expired, I would therefore need to purchase a new grate! Also, the oven is almost impossible to clean. It requires repeated applications of water and now they recommend adding baking soda and repeat again for cleaning. This is a horrible appliance. Also purchased LG Refrigerator and Microwave. I can only imagine upcoming problems with them. Customer Service simply tells you what they cannot do. Do Not Buy LG products.

I hate LG, worse company to deal with when you need customer service or system repair. 69 days and still no resolution on my $2,900 refrigerator. After 1.5 years the unit quit working, after 50 phone calls and several attempts to fix their unit I still have no solution. They suck, they don’t care about the customer, they keep escalating my case and each time it takes 3-10 days to get an answer. They say they will contact me and they never do, I have to call them 3 times a week to keep things moving.Missing time from work to be home for repair people, they made a mess in my house. Open the system under pressure and sprayed refrigerant oil vapor in my kitchen and dining room… They don’t care about the customer at all… Keep apologizing on the phone, yet their action reflects zero effort to correct their defective unit. All the local LG service companies refused to work on their product, Technicians told me they can’t fix it and they will not touch an LG refrigerator sealed system. I have to say it’s the worse customer service experience of my life, I am so mad… Who can live for over two months without a refrigerator?

We have a model lfxs29766s French door fridge. The linear compressor just broke after only fours years. Apparently LG is very aware of this and their solution is to charge you $350 for a new compressor. Tech that came to the house says he replaces 4-5 of these compressors a day. Incorporate that additional cost into your evaluation because I think you can get a better fridge for that additional money....and it will happen to you.

Updated on 03/11/2019: This is a follow up to my January 2019 post. I lowered my rating to one star since the dryer (DLEX5680) was repaired only to break again within 6 weeks. The dryer was serviced and our house dryer vent was cleaned as recommended before using the dryer. It worked wonderfully for 6 weeks and now have the same symptoms. There should be a recall on this dryer. Very frustrating.Original Review: I purchased the dryer in mid-2014. Worked well first 4 years... Broke with a common issue. The dryer stopped working without warning. It thinks its drying but the machine is not running or drum rotating. Evidently this is a common problem since the repair company knew the problem and the part to order without a visit. Its been 3 weeks so far dealing with the warranty company and now we have to wait for the part. I will follow up this review with the wait and repair time.

ALL appliances purchased June - Aug 2020 (they arrived at different times). I INSISTED on getting LG appliances, as I had only known them to be a superior product. BOY was I shocked at the horrible product they have become. Our new appliances were purchased all at once. Our washer was defective from the first day and had to be replaced, our new fridge is making strange sounds and needs to be repaired (I suspect it is the compressor), and our dishwasher refuses to latch closed on a regular basis. The reviews I read now are horrible and it sickens me that I saved for years to buy new appliances that are in my opinion, garbage. As far as LG goes, run away as hard and as fast as you can! Ps: their customer service in regards to the repairs were very rude in spite of my being polite. One young guy actually hung up on me after I had to call three times for a response! HORRIBLE product, HORRIBLE service...

LG missed the boat, I will never buy a LG product again, nor should you. Fair disclosure, the washer worked fine for 8 years, its the support network that is broken.

We purchased all new LG appliances for our kitchen 3 years ago. The stove is terrible to say the least. You can brush up against the knobs and turn the burners on. My 6 year old daughter has walked by and bumped the knob with her shoulder and turned the gas on and it was on for I don’t know how long. This is extremely dangerous. Also, I can’t even use the bottom oven because flames shoot out the back and burns my food. I bought this double oven because I bake a lot and it has made baking so much more difficult. We had this beautiful fridge installed in June of 2012 and right away the freezer compartment spilled ice all over the floor when you opened the freezer drawer. The repairman messed with the seal on one visit, then replaced the seal on another visit and finally replaced the freezer door on the third visit. Problem with that was then resolved. Was gone for three months and back home for summer and the freezer quit working on July 4 - water all over the hard wood floors and freezer food thawed--they came out and did repairs on a fan. A week later the same thing happened - came out - needs new compressor. Came out with the right part no. on the box, but when he went to install it, wrong compressor - could not even restart the fridge section - so without fridge too. Yesterday they installed the correct compressor and freezer wont go below 29 degrees. American has been very good to do repairs and are trying to help us. We also bought the extended warranties, but that company has been somewhat difficult to work with. It is like no one knows who should do what. Very unhappy with this product. Now I have seen many others experiencing the same issues. Should the consumer have to suffer inconveniences and perhaps even damage to their home PLUS pay for the product and warranties especially when LG surely knows they have problems? I feel badly for the repairmen, but am wondering why companies continue to sell these products when obviously there are significant issues. What are we to do?

Bought our LG gas range 2 years ago. Less than 6 months, one knob broke off. I called Best Buy and they said to call LG. LG said I need to purchase knobs. The knobs are expensive. They are made of a plastic and do not have the strength to take the pressure. After swapping knobs, they all eventually cracked. I do not recommend to purchase the oven from LG. Unfortunately, it sounds that they are replacing them to their customers. We were not told that. It is dangerous when you cannot turn off burners. I would like to find metal or a cast metal to replace them. Be careful, this can be dangerous.

The dishwasher has 3 racks and after 4 months the top brackets are supposed to be adjustable and do not stay upright. They are supposed to clip into brackets and have come apart. In addition, there are 6 spots on the upper and lower rack that have been burned and are completely falling apart. This was a very high end dishwasher and will not buy another LG. My brand new stainless French door refrigerator with 2 freezer drawers is also a disappointment. The side areas have broken apart and I have taped them together. The LG-WM3997HWA washers drain system is bad and the dryer doesnt dry! I spoke to a couple of LGs support people and the first one sent out a repair person because the machine doesnt dry. The repair person found nothing wrong. I called again because the machine still didnt dry and LG was again going to send out a repair person... I then called the repair person and he said these machines never dry and that if he came again, he would just check the specs and the specs were correct. So I called LGs support people again and this time the lady told me that the machine only dries to 90%. In point of fact, it doesnt really dry. I tried it using half the wash load and I think that after hours of drying, it was wetter than when it first came out of the wash. I now have to buy a dryer. I have been trying to dispute this with Goedekers the company that I purchased this machine from, but their policy is once its delivered, its yours. It makes no sense to me at all that they sell a washer/dryer that doesnt dry. I have used these kinds of machines in Japan and they work perfectly. It does take hours, but the wash comes out dry at the end and you dont have to remove half the wash to get it that way. Also your design for the machines drainage is horrible. To have the water drain out so close to the floor makes no sense. I used a flat tray to catch the water, but it is virtually impossible to control the flow and most of the time, it makes a mess. This is probably the worst appliance that I have ever bought. At this point, I now have to buy a dryer to put on top of the machine because the reason I bought it in the first place is because my laundry room is tiny. The point is that they should not be selling this machine and the public should be warned not to buy it.

We have a 3 1/2 year old LG refrigerator (French door, door in door) that we had installed in our new house. While I love the features, the repairs have been a nightmare. We are currently on our 4th compressor. Each time we have been 1-3 weeks without a refrigerator. We ended up having to buy a little one to get us through. With the installation of the last compressor, our warrantly was extended. The current compressor is supposed to be one of the “new improved” ones. After about 6 months, we lost cooling in the refrigerator and freezer. Part of our meat defrosted (we took pictures). The ice melted in the ice machine. There was no sound coming from the compressor for about a day. Then it started working again. 2 1/2 days later, we had ice. We called repair and it was going to take a week for “their” repairman to even make the first visit. This company had terrible reviews and no way to contact them. We asked to be changed to another certified repair company. We waited 5 days for them. When they inspected the refrigerator, since it had started working again, they could not find anything wrong with it other than high pressure in a line and told us we had to pay the bill. So now we are still on compressor 4 (5 would kick in the lemon law), it stops working when it pleases, fails to consistently keep our refrigerator/freezer compartment at the selected temperature (can be off by 10 degrees), and because the problem is intermittent, we have to pay for the repairman to come if it starts working again before they get there. Love the LG features but will never have another LG refrigerator.

Like everyone else - initially I loved this unit. Its still a good looking one with amazing features - if they actually work. But when you have a sudden and complete failure of your unit it changes your opinion. And when LG customer service and their third party service centres do not treat it with any sense of urgency or allow you the courtesy of a call back then you feel bad!My stainless steel french door unit hums and lights up, but cools nothing, with no air blowing. I had to throw out over $300 worth of food and weve been without a unit for 5 days now! I am currently trying to resolve this issue with the customer service at LG Canada. Thankfully its still under warranty, plus I bought an extended warranty from the BRICK which would cover me for up to 5 more years of parts and labour or a replacement! LG sent a third party service guy who did not show up, after blocking out my whole day, which forced me to take the whole day off work losing a whole days wages as a result!! LG was unsympathetic with canned responses, and did not care much! Huge disrespect for me and my time and family! After spending over $3500 on a fridge you expect better service! In fact one of the girls at customer service had the nerve to tell me I could be charged for the service if my complaint about the unit was false! Imagine that! My advice dont buy any expensive LG refrigerator. Heck! Keep away from LG all together! Its easier to deal with a $500 unit than deal with this nonsense on a high end unit!

We purchase a LG refrigerator Model LFX28968SM on November 29, 2016 from Home Depot and it had a 1 year warranty. On September 2018 the refrigerator section was not cooling below 60 deg F. I called the two LG Authorized Service Centers and they would not respond. I called another repair center and they ordered the part that arrived after 2 weeks from China and it did not fit. They tried to order a replacement and after six weeks they were unsuccessful. We discarded the LG refrigerator and ordered a brand that was made in the US. It was a terrible experience that cost us $2,000.

On September 24, 2007 I purchased an LG refrigerator (model # LRSC26923TT), dishwasher and microwave at Gabowitz Appliances, East Brunswick, New Jersey. At that time I purchased an extended warranty for the refrigerator. The refrigerator needed to have the icemaker replaced within the year. The repairman told me it was a defective part and since then, it has had to be replaced four times for the same reason. The icemaker melts and becomes deformed. LG keeps replacing the defective part with another defective part as they have not fixed the defect. My extended warranty expires in September, 2012 and from hereon in, I will have to pay approximately $350.00--the price the repairman said it will cost--when it again needs a repair since it was again replaced with a part that is the same as the defective part (as per the repairman). When I wrote to LG they just answered that it is out of the manufacturer’s warranty and they have no obligations.

LG Dryer DLEX5170V - We purchased a new washer and dryer from HHGregg in February 2014 with a 5 year extended warranty. To date, we have no problems with our washing machine but the dryer has stopped heating on three different occasions. Today, I called My Protection Plan360 to request another service call for my dryer as it no longer heats and was told that I would instead be contacted within 3-5 days with a refund to purchase a new dryer. There goes our matching LG washer and dryer series!

After much research and review we purchased the 6.3 cu. ft. Capacity Electric Single Oven Range with True Convection and EasyClean. He ordered it on December 29, 2014 and it was delivered in February 2015. Apparently it was not constructed until January of 2015. So I was excited for a brand new stove. I am an avid baker and love to cook. So having this stove was exciting!Fast forward to October 19, 2016. Woke up early and went to heat water for tea. My LED screen had a time on it that was incorrect, so I tried to update the clock. Nothing worked. I freaked out and checked all the circuit breakers etc. Nothing then the screen went black. Fast forward to today, when they could finally come out to look at it. I need a new panel...Shocker. Its not even two years old. Good thing is that I purchased an extended warranty. But I have been without a stove for 7 days and it will be an additional 10 days until the part comes in. My guess is that this is a common problem. This is my first and LAST LG purchase. NEVER AGAIN!!!

This is my first purchase of an LG refrigerator, and while the reviews were good, my experience has been less than stellar. The refrigerator is less than 3 years old and makes horrible noise when the doors are closed. Last year, I had to pay a professional service person close to $300 to come de-ice the refrigerator and am now faced with the same scenario. LG customer service is no help saying to make sure the refrigerator is level and to call a repair person. I have had several refrigerators ranging from Westinghouse to KitchenAid and never had issues. I am very unhappy and would not recommend purchasing an LG refrigerator.

My husband and I purchased a new LG refrigerator just 2 years ago. TWO weeks ago right before July 4th everything defrosted and melted in the freezer and the refrigerator went warm. I called LG warranty service and purchased a service plan. They scheduled to come July 6th. They cancelled that appointment because they overbooked pushed me back to July 11th. Five days later. This brings us to July 10th by 4 o clock I havent heard from them with the scheduled time so I called them. I found out they cancelled again! They didnt even have the decency to call. They would not give us a date when someone could get here. We were told we would receive a callback in 1 to 2 business days with a date. We refused to accept this or hang up because they can not be trusted. Over a long time probably a hour later we finally got a date. Saturday. Another 5 days.So we have been out a ref for 2 weeks. Tried to call someone ourselves to get this fixed. They came said it might be the fan but they are unable to get the part because LG wont give them the look up a number so we have 2 options wait another 5 days and hope they actually come or buy a new refrigerator. 2000 dollars down the drain for a new refrigerator. So beware when buying LG appliances. Its safe to say I will never ever buy an LG product again. LG corporation also did nothing. All they wanted to do is confirm our appointment. I can do that dont need them to do that for us. So stand clear of LG got sold a lemon and cant even get it fixed. Updates repair man came 2 weeks later got the new compressor and guess what still doesnt work. I am a month without a refrigerator with 2 kids in the summer. Never again will I go with LG for anything.

Its total game changer after I replaced with LG microwave and gas range after three years with Frigidaire. LG has great functionalities with dependability. We bought the refrigerator in Feb 2020. A few months later, the ice maker stopped working. Service guy had to come back 5 times to finally fix it. For some reason, the model we have was built with a special ice maker. Last month, we started hearing a loud humming sound. When you open any door, it will stop then starts after you close the door. We called service and they did a smart diagnosis via phone and said it looks like I have an ice build-up by the fan and I need to defrost the refrigerator for 8 hours. Defrosted it and after a week, we got an FF error code on the ref. We are defrosting again and see what happens. Never had this problem with a refrigerator before. Hope this get fixed right away.

I had to literally get the door off and side for two trying to get the splattering cleaned and still have not gotten the desired effect. The top of the range is another problem. Our new (under 2 year old side by side fridge/freezer) stopped cooling. I tried doing the smart diagnostic app and it said it was working fine. I tried to make sure doors were sealing fine, they were. I called LG. They said it might of done an auto defrost. I was told to unplug it and it would reset it that temp would return to normal in 12 hours. We woke up the next day to a flooded floor. All food in freezer was defrosted. Refrigerator was at 65*. I did the smart diagnosis again. It said it was fine. Called LG and sent them the diagnosis and they said to unplug and wait 6 hours. I lost all food and temp Kept dropping. I was told to put food in coolers. Most was trashed. I was told they could send a repair person in 2 weeks!!! I did the best I could with food in coolers but lost it all. LG was not helpful.A repair person came out earlier than quoted and it seemed to be working (known compressor failure) yet now temp is plummeting again. At this point I just want a full refund to buy a new non LG fridge. I’m hoping temp increases, yet I just emptied ice so hopefully if it fails it won’t ruin my new floor. I just bought food to replace the food lost. I have no other fridge at my home. 4 days and it’s not working again. Reading all these reviews makes me sad that this brand is allowed to sell these products and hold hard working families like mine hostage.

I have been quite unhappy with my lovely new LG washing machine, because everything it washes comes out smelling bad. I found (online) many stories from people with front-loading HE washers who had nasty-smelling laundry. I called LG last month and the customer service people gave me a series of chores to do and said if I performed them weekly, the smell would disappear. Well, I performed them five times weekly and the laundry still smelled like week-old workout clothes stuffed in a gym locker. So yesterday, they finally sent a real, live repairman. The repair guy took one look and said it was clean and nothing was wrong that he could fix except by telling me to use a powdered laundry detergent called Charlies Soap. He insisted that all the usual detergents are made with animal fats or byproducts or something, but Charlies Soap is made with coconut oils or something vegetable-based, and that it is the animal fats that build up in the clothes in these HE washers and make the clothes smell like a week-old gym bag. He said it would take 2 or 3 washings with Charlies Soap to eliminate all the smell in the clothes. I thought he was nuts, but I tried it. It actually worked. Now I want to know why LG doesnt tell anyone what the problem is! I was aggravated & upset with stinking laundry for six months! Do they have a financial connection to laundry detergent sales but not to Charlies Soap?

I own an LG refrigerator (model number LR FD 22850 SW), French doors style and with a freezer on the bottom. One day my wife called me and said that the fridge is running hot and the lights stay on, even with the doors closed. I told her to disconnect the power and remove the light bulbs, until I get home. I later found out that the light sockets were very dark and burnt. The plastic lens cover and plastic base were also melted by the light bulbs. I got replacements from Sears’ parts website. I got them the very next day, and replaced all bad parts. After four hours, the fridge started to get hot again--the same problem. I had placed a thermometer inside to monitor the temperature while it had no lights. The temperature was steady at 37 degrees. Four hours later, with the lights on, the temperature reading was 89 degrees. Lots of foods were spoiled, and the plastic parts melted again. So far I have removed the lights, and the temperature is going back to normal. I believe I am not the only one with this defective appliance.

Actually the only thing I do not like on my whole fridge is the fridge does not come equipped with a water dispenser on it because I drink a lot of water and it would come in handy. LG Front Loader Washer Model: WM3170CW. Purchased this washer from Lowes. After the first wash, the inside seal was giving off a smell. So paranoid about this, I made sure to wipe the inside door glass, seal after every wash. This unit leaves water in the soap tray after every wash, so I take out the tray and drain it and allow that to dry. I also have to get down and open the door with the drain tube. I drain out all the water that is - I guess - still inside the washer?! A lot of water comes out. This washer is a major pain. After continuing to do ALL of this after every use - my washer smells horribly musty and moldy. Totally unacceptable. I have put cleaning tablets in it - and even run bleach through it on the clean cycle. Still smells. This washer is a lemon. Do not purchase it. I deserve a new washer - but a different model! I expected this to be a good washer - being an LG. They used to have a good reputation. I paid $750.00 for this washer.

Surprise, I too have a loud thumping dryer drum & visible crack in the drum seal. I called LG. Initially, the representative said, Oh, this is a known problem and there is a recall. Called back with the serial # and surprise, the known recall now requires a receipt, which I dont have 7 or so years later, and LG insists its required to make the recall fix. Is that legal? Do recalls require a receipt. This is the second LG product that has gone bad on me at my expense and NO more. LG is not a good life and I would not opt for their products ever again because as other commenters below stated, their customer service is bad. I plan to call the MA consumer products division tomorrow to confirm if a receipt is necessary for a recall, assuming there is a recall on the product as the first CS agent told me this morning. LGs products are NOT worth the hassle they put their customer through....

From day 1, my machine leaked. I called and was told it was due to using too much detergent. I thought that may be the problem and used below the normal line every cycle. Still sporadically, there are leaks below the machine. As I called and was told over and over again, my machine is fine. I let my machine go out of warranty. Now beyond leaking, it stops mid-cycle often so I have to sit next to the machine while washing clothes to restart it and finish cycles. Beyond that, sometimes it gets stuck at 9 minutes left and starts spinning and stops spinning over and over again. Beyond that, when it is filling up, the valves close so quickly it causes all the pipes in my house to shake and bang causing leaks in pipes. Something needs to be done about this. LG should stand behind their product.

We have purchased an LG dishwasher about 3 years ago and have nothing but issues with it. In the first year the main board had to be replaced because it had just stopped working after hearing a humming noise coming from the motor. Since then we can not use the normal cycle since an error E1 comes up. Also in that cycle it will continue to pump out the water even if it is empty. So we are using the power scrub cycle since we use it everyday sometimes twice a day. The problem we are dealing with now is that we have to fill it during the cycle because it just does not fill with enough water. You will know when it sounds like it is grinding up debris inside. After filling it runs quietly. If we dont fill it the dishes come out dirty. The weird thing is it will not show the error E1 at all. It will continue to run till the end. We bought this dishwasher on sale and thought we were getting a very good deal. Now we know why we only paid $400.00 for this. We will not buy another LG dishwasher in the future after our experience with it and reading the other complaints from others.

I was hoping that they would accommodate my request since it was only 3 months after my stove was a year old. Well, LG was very cold and told me to purchase one which was then $75. To this day, my stove is missing a knob. One other knob is also very loose that a slight nudge will turn on the gas without turning on the flame. I have to keep checking that the knobs are all in off position. The burner caps are also an issue. After two years, they are chipping off here and there but usable. I did not bother to call LG after the cold response in 2008. This LG gas stove model is a piece of junk and the knobs are a safety hazard.

My LG refrigerator quit around Feb. 14. The repairman came on Feb. 17 and said he would order a new board and compressor. It is now March 11 and I am still waiting. I called the Brick customer service and they do seem to want to help but nothing comes of it. I have a serious heart condition and am finding it even harder since I do not feel well enough to go out to get food most of the time. The customer service did not call back and kept me waiting all day yesterday so I did not get to go out and get some food. It is getting warmer outside so my new outdoor storage is no longer working either and the remaining food is going bad. My cats can attest to that and refuse to eat the remaining steak. I am having to eat food that causes me to get terrible attacks of angina. This whole episode is like something out of a nightmare.I called the Brick customer support again this morning and he said he would call the Brick store in Barrie where I purchased the refrigerator and see about having a bar fridge sent over to use until the repair gets done. I should not have had to wait this long as they should have a stock of parts locally and not to be sent from China. Also, since I have paid a large sum of money for the extended guarantee, there should have been immediate action to see that I was not so inconvenienced as this. The very nice man in the Brick customer service just called and said he talked to the Brick store. The Brick store just called and it seems all is starting to go more smoothly and they are prepared to lend me a bar fridge. Of course, that still means long walks just to get to the fridge as I have little room for it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the repair is now going to be done soon. If not, I will be taking much stronger action to see results and maybe help the rest of people that own LG products to get better treatment in the future. I have many LG products so it means a lot to me.

I remodeled my house and brought 4 LG products. Microwave for over the range, sitting in my living room, home alone and heard a noise. I go into the kitchen to find the handle of the microwave on the floor, repairman man said it was cracked. Microwave was 1 month old. Dishwasher 2 mo. old, the latch cracked and had to be replaced. Range, oven door almost fell off, missing 2 screws. The best for last, my horror story of the French door fridge, needed twice to replace the motherboard (I think it came from China?), the freezer door did not lock well, escaping cold air, the ice maker had to be replaced. I had put hardwood all thru the house including the kitchen. I now have some leak coming from the bottom of the fridge, it is now ruining my hardwood. The appliance man will be out this Tuesday. All appliances were purchased the same day and 3 out of 4 had issues within the first month. I was looking to see if there were any recalls or class actions suits. These product in my case were just terrible, even the stainless steel has an issue. I put my old Amana fridge in the garage, mine is about 20 years old and still works like a charm. I WILL NEVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT, life is good my foot. LG makes it difficult for repairmen to buy parts. This forces you to use their customer service. I understand the rationale in this, it can help the company ensure the machine gets fixed by an LG approved repairman. Having said this, the LG customer service is based in the Philippines. I dont blame the workers there who are trying their best, however, their training and product knowledge is so limited they are unable to think rationally about a course of action for my problem. I cant prove this, but it seemed that my calls with questions about my LG washer-dryer (which broke 5 times in 2 years) prompted the service centre to consult a script instead of thinking and answering. I wondered this because their answers did not address my question. Based on the other reviews Ive read, this will be my first and last purchase of any LG product. It seems they are designed to be attractively cheap, but break easily, then have poor service to correct the problems. I will never endorse this company to any colleagues.

We just purchased a LG 24 CU foot french door refrigerator which was returned 4 days after we started using it. This refrigerator was advertised as having gallon container storage in the door. Wrong. Unless you wanted to turn your gallon of milk on its side to try and fit it into the opening provided. With much rearranging we finally did manage to fit a gallon in the door but had to not use one of the shelves provided to make that work. Then we noticed on about the third day (it takes about 2-3 days for the refrigerator to start making ice) that even overnight we were only getting about 1 1/2 cups of ice cubes. We could make two drinks and be out of ice. They advertise that the ice maker being in the door frees up more freezer room when in fact the container that holds the ice is very, very small and the shelves below the ice maker are nearly useless. The final straw was the water dispenser. Look very closely at where the water comes out of the dispenser. It is an engineering nightmare. Overall we felt like the design of the LG frig was far inferior to many of the other brands. Our recommendation would be either the Whirlpool or the Samsung.
