4 year old LG stove is garbage. Display board went out. Part is now obsolete and unavailable. Short life span, horrible customer service, replacement parts impossible to get. Even local repairmen and parts distributors had negative feedback on LG. We had to buy a new stove, and it is NOT an LG.

Bought 11/18/12, this will be my third repair. The first was the ice-maker which was replaced at no charge - that was 11/14 - 2 years after purchase. The second was the fan which was making such a loud noise that I could hear it in the other room. That was repaired 2/15 and I had to pay for it. Now the fan did the same thing - a horrendous noise, and now my refrigerator button reads ER and my freezer, RF. I spoke with LG Cust. Service who told me I would have to pay for the repair; next I asked for a supervisor and they eventually connected me with an executive agent. I waited on the line for 15 minutes before anyone picked up. She told me if I faxed her my receipt, they would pay for the repair. My telling her that this refrigerator was 2 years 8 months old made no difference. When I faxed over the receipt, I called them to make sure they had it and someone else set up an appointment, after much trying - since it was the Thursday before July 4th, for repair on Tuesday July 7. I received a phone call today that the company cant make it on Tuesday, now its Thursday. I have lost most of my food and I have had it. This product is garbage and no one should sell it. I will tell EVERYONE I know never to buy anything that is LG.

This machine does not move clothes from the top to bottom and there have been times I take clothes out and there are dry areas - water hasn’t even touched those areas. Whatever is on the top stays there - just shifts from side to side unlike the video. I’ve watched it. It defeats the purpose of HE to use the water plus feature - it’s the only way clothes have a chance to get fully wet. I had a front loader previously for 10 years and wanted to give this a chance. It’s awful and an agitator machine is better than this. Extremely disappointed in LG. Never again.

LG french door refrigerator - Less than two years old. Called LG. Not making ice and defrosting. They send out Best Servicers of America. Repair time slot 12-2 pm. Tech showed at 5:30 after reporting that nobody showed. Tech claims bad compressor. This is obviously a scam they tell everyone, he never checked anything but made that assessment. He orders a new compressor. Three weeks no refrigerator. I can clearly hear and feel the compressor running using a Freon leak detector. I have found the problem. It has a gas leak. I believe this is why so many compressor replacements. A Freon leak is serious and no compressor will fix it and they don’t want to replace the entire refrigerator.

Bought a stainless steel side by side refrigerator yesterday. It was delivered today. When I bought it, the sales person did not tell me the sides were gray. I thought it would be black with the s/s front. I was not present when they brought it to my house, my husband was. I had also bought a LG s/s electric stove. It is black with the s/s front. The fridge does not match because of the light gray sides. To return the stove even though it had been in my house for 4 hours cost me 157.00 in restocking fees. I ended up buying a Kenmore s/s with black sides. I think LG has gone wrong with having their refrigerators only with Light gray sides. Its suppose to be the latest thing. Its ugly!!!

LFX31925ST/00 - Nothing but problems! 3 instances of the freezer defrosting. The ice machine leaked from day 1 and rusted down the front of the door and around the dispenser. We had to fight to get that door replaced. Theyve fixed the freezer twice as well and my food is defrosting AGAIN as I type this. Geek Squad guy is outside on his phone trying to handle it when what we should be doing is picking out a new fridge because ours should be recalled!!

My LG dishwasher has a stainless steel finish that cleans and shines quite nicely. Soap dispenser holds tablet or liquid and dissolves no problems. TrueBalance Washing Machine - Top Loader WT1501CW - We recently got this washer (purchased new) & within a week I knew we made a big mistake. At first I thought we just needed to adjust to this type of machine (weve used a front loader with no problems for years). We bought a extra large capacity but cant put but a small load in because it doesnt move the clothes. Ive washed on bulky load hoping it would wash better but it didnt help. Clothes on top stay in top & our clothes doesnt get clean.I sweat a lot & its bad when you put clothes on that smell like they already been worn for three days. My daughter works in a factory & her pants always look dirty with grease. I wash my clothes I wash small loads, with color bleach, Biz stain & odor eliminator, Downy with odor defence, & Wisk deep clean detergent & Downy fabric softener on stain care option & prewash. It never puts enough water to cover the clothes even when we use the extra water feature. Worst purchase we have ever made. I cant say this enough...dont waste your money.

We purchased a microhood at Menards on 04/16/2016. It was to replace a GE microwave which had been over the stove for a number of years. This LG microhood worked for 3 weeks and when I put vegetables in to reheat one day it just didnt heat. I talked to Menards and they said it was up to me to contact LG warranty issues. Trying to understand foreigners is extremely aggravating. Why doesnt anyone keep the jobs in the USA anymore? He had me unplug the microhood to reset it and when that didnt work, tried to find someone to repair it. He was unsuccessful finding a business to work on this product. So now I am stuck waiting for repair scheduling to contact me in a number of days. I need this microwave now! As far as I am concerned this company no longer exists. I am looking at having to purchase a new washer and kitchen range within the next little while and it will not be an LG. My husband works at a car manufacturer where hundreds of people work and we are going to make sure other employees are forewarned about this company. We certainly never expected to get less than a months use from an LG product.

When my ancient Whirlpool washer finally died in the fall of 2012, we decided it was time for an upgrade. My partner found a good deal via a big-box retailer for an LG washer and dryer... good stuff, right? From day one, the dryer has been nothing but an albatross around our necks. Almost immediately it begin to fail after only a few uses. The rather abrupt LG technicians kept stating that our venting system was to blame. We cleaned it carefully and still had problems. Finally, an independent technician suggested we route the vent directly to the outside, which we did. Never mind the built-in vent system worked adequately with our old dryer... Well play the game. Finally, the dryer seemed to work well.Recently, my daughter was preparing to dry her clothes and noted that one of the electrical breakers had flipped due to the dryer activation. We re-flipped the breaker and the dryer was activated but did not dry. Nothing like a little midnight unloading of wet clothes and rigging a temporary clothesline, eh? Of course, we contacted LG and received the standard line Did you check your vent? We did receive a technician referral but of course no service call until Monday, so we experienced a pioneer lifestyle with our clothing needs for the weekend. No real problem, just a hassle. The friendly technician spent approximately five minutes finding the problem, a burned wiring harness. Yep, parts to be ordered and over $300.00 in repairs. The technician remarked that it is wise to stay away from LG, Samsung, and Kenmore appliances as they contain substandard parts. He didnt have to tell me twice. Ill fix this thing, of course. And then Ill go shopping for a good AMERICAN brand like I should have done in the first place. Moral of the story, STAY AWAY FROM LG!

French door, bottom freezer. Freezer space very good & easy to use with drawer providing better access. Door for milk and other items reduces times opening refrigerator. Would prefer two larger veggie drawers instead of three. Has larger meat drawer at bottom which allows for many shaped items. Just check local area for repair centers just in case something may need to be repaired for any brand appliance purchased.

Ive been a fan of LG products for quite some time. Never had any problems with the electronics and appliances Ive bought from them until now. A few days ago, it stopped making ice and the freezer got warm, but the fridge still worked. I called the helpline and the smart diagnosis feature didnt work. I tried all of their troubleshooting tips but nothing worked. I didnt bother getting an extended warranty because of the trust and goodwill LG had earned with me over the years. Now I have to pay 80 dollars just to have a tech look at it, and even if the parts are covered I could be looking at hundreds more for labor. I waited my whole life to get a water/ice dispensing fridge (45 years) but could never afford one. When my old fridge died in 2016, it was at the same time my stepdad gave us 2000 grand as a gift. We used that money to buy this fridge during a Black Friday sale at Lowes. Not even 3 years later its dead and who knows how much it will cost to fix. Ive never been this disappointed since my Xbox 360 died but Microsoft made it right by sending a new console free of charge. I wonder if LG will be willing to do anything to rectify the situation. If not, I will never buy anything from them ever again, and will never stop being critical of their products and services.

I also have had the same issues as others on this thread. Compressor failure at 3 years of ownership is a sure sign this unit (and others within the same model series) are complete garbage. Prior, 3 months after purchasing this unit, we experienced a loud rattling noise which was caused by a fan hitting a build-up of ice on the compressor lines. After multiple tech visits, replacing several items, the entire board or CPU for the unit was replaced. We had no other issues after up until now, 3 years later. Fortunately, we did buy an extended 5-year warranty from the company where it was purchased. This warranty did cover the costs to repair. But, based on my research, the compressor will fail again in time due to onboard firmware issues that are causing the overload.

LDG4313ST Gas Range - Since buying this range in December we have had 3 major problems. 1. Finish on bottom panel peeling off. 2. Convection oven making a loud noise, spewing soot, and setting off our carbon monoxide alarm. 3. Oven temperature varies hugely. I contacted LG the first time letting them know I read the owners manual I was given and saw nothing about foil placed on the bottom to catch drips. I make an apple pie during the holidays and for years I have always put foil on the bottom of whatever range I was using to catch the drips. Never had a problem before. Got a form letter saying that though placing foil on the bottom was a common practice that in THEIR ranges you could not. I further investigated their manual and found something in troubleshooting about it. By then, it was too late. The form letter gave no information about how to get a replacement panel. Poor customer service number one.The first time I tried to use the convection oven it smelled weird and then set off the carbon monoxide detector. I found soot on the front glass door. I entered another complaint. This time they sent out a service person. He called them and turns out this is a known problem. The oxygen/gas mix is too rich. So we have been waiting for over a month for the mod. I call appliance company. They say its back ordered with no known date for coming in. I also have them order the base panel. They got the part number. 50 bucks. Irked me, but figured at that point it wasnt that much, I would pay for it.After a long 40 minutes on hold to get to customer service at LG I was first told the mod was back ordered. Then I was told that it was the base plate that was back ordered and they could get the mod part within 3 or 4 days. I said, Fine, fix the dang convection oven so I can use it. Even though there are only 2 screws to install, they say base plate must be put in by a tech. They confirm they wont pay for it, even though we have been waiting a month to even get any news about parts.THEN, this weekend I attempted to bake a cake. I have noticed some issues with cookies, but managed. The cake rose as it should in the middle and then fell by the time I looked again. I checked the temperature and according to the panel, (I shut off and then turned back on to see what temp it thought it was) it was down to 250 when I had it set at 350!!! What the heck!!! I then checked the complaints on LG stoves and many people have problems with widely varying temperatures. LG has refused to allow techs to replace the control boards saying this is how they operate!!! They have come up with lots of excuses with customers. At this point, I have no intention of calling them back. I am copying all the complaints about their ranges and going to see if I can get Home Depot to take it back. Its a piece of junk. If they wont take it back, then I will start with LG. I want a refund. I do NOT want another stove from them. I will never again buy another LG product. They have awful customer service and dont seem to give a crap about the fact their products dont perform as they should. One positive note. The melting knob problem is fixed on this model. Only if the ranges worked.

Purchased an LG side by side refrigerator in October 2016 with an extended warranty. Last week 7/20/20 I noticed a warm freezer and warm refrigerator temp. I called LG to schedule a service call and was told August 4 was the next availability. Also was told that was the best they could do. I researched area authorized LG repair and found Sears appliance repair. When I called they had told me July 28 was their next available date. I called LG back to let them know, I was told that dispatch could not be changed even after I found the earliest available date from a factory authorized repair center. Sears told me that warranty would have to be submitted directly to LG by me after repair and bill was taken care of. Sears was great. They came earlier than expected, had the parts on the truck and all was fixed in a couple of hours. We paid the bill and contacted LG for warranty claim. Not only was my wife put on hold for hours when asking for a supervisor, but when a supervisor finally connected we were vehemently denied any warranty. The reasoning was that the company they dispatched did not do the repair. When I explained the situation I was told I should have received a repair work order authorization number by the dispatcher for Sears which I never received or was told about. I also suggested that I pay for labor and asked if LG would at least pay for parts (which I still have) and again was denied. Roughly $550 in parts, $450 in labor and it looks like I will be handling the full amount with no resolution. I do not understand why LG did not help better in this situation. I found that these linear compressors have a high failure rate, have multiple class action lawsuits working against LG and poor customer service help from the start to help me rectify this problem. I just do not understand.

Very spacious with lots of labeled compartments make it easy to find things. Very contemporary design so it matches my kitchen decor. The freezer is located on the bottom which leaves more refrigerator room to store cold food and beverages. The water is filtered and ice can be cubes or crushed for drinks. Shelves are easy to remove and clean. The stainless steel is modern look and easy to keep clean. Overall I love the product. It matches my microwave perfectly. Designed very well. I dislike the temperature. Sometimes it gets too cold and freezes my refrigerator items and also there is an annoying sensor that beeps to let you know the door is open. It is a good and bad thing because it makes sure you remember to close the door so that food wont spoil but also its a bad thing when you are loading groceries and need the door open for a long time. I chose LG because it is a brand I trust and I know is high quality and durable to last me and get my moneys worth. I have other LG products so the purchase was inevitable and yes it has met my initial expectations.

I have owned my LG French door refrigerator for 18 months and have had two problems with the icemaker. The first problem happened during the warranty and was covered. The ice bin plastic broke off and plastic bits were dispensed with ice. The second problem is that the icemaker is completely broken and needs to be replaced. I used the live chat on the web site and they walked me through a number of steps, but in the end, it needs to be replaced. Its over $300 after owning it for 18 months. I am not happy. ALL appliances purchased June - Aug 2020 (they arrived at different times). I INSISTED on getting LG appliances, as I had only known them to be a superior product. BOY was I shocked at the horrible product they have become. Our new appliances were purchased all at once. Our washer was defective from the first day and had to be replaced, our new fridge is making strange sounds and needs to be repaired (I suspect it is the compressor), and our dishwasher refuses to latch closed on a regular basis. The reviews I read now are horrible and it sickens me that I saved for years to buy new appliances that are in my opinion, garbage. As far as LG goes, run away as hard and as fast as you can! Ps: their customer service in regards to the repairs were very rude in spite of my being polite. One young guy actually hung up on me after I had to call three times for a response! HORRIBLE product, HORRIBLE service...

Purchased an LG Door-within-a-door Refrigerator in July 2017. On September 6, 2020 the unit failed and we woke the next day to find all the food in the freezer was soft and the refrigerator was warm. Because of the holiday we had to wait 2 days to get a repair man to diagnose the problem... only to find out that no one in our area would service LG refrigerators due to consistent problems with warranty issues.3 calls to the LG 800 Customer Service center provided additional frustration due to the artificial intelligence support person taking information and then stating that it was a warranty issue and I would be handed off to a live agent... only to have the call dropped after 45 seconds of Muzak. I then went to the web site customer support and after providing all the information again to the service bot I was handed over to a live agent, and had to repeat all the information since he could not access the service bots data. After a 20 minutes of review and discussion it was determined it was probably a warranty issue and he authorized a repair ticket to be sent to an authorized repair tech, and after a 5 minute search reported that he could not find an available repair tech in my locality, but he would e-mail with the information. He did e-mail a name and contact information of a repair service and said I would get a call from them to set up the appointment, and if I didnt hear from them within 7 days to call LG back. The repair service called the next day September 9th and gave me a tentative appointment for September 17th to replace the compressor, assuming that LG sent the correct part on time. This was their 1st available appointment as they had that many LG compressors failing. Today September 15th I received a call stating that the compressor had not shipped yet and the anticipated receipt gave a new install date of October 2nd.... 25 days after the refrigerator failed! Never again will I consider an LG product.

We were looking around and doing some research a few years ago when we bought our first LG fridge. And in that process, we found that we liked the design and the products that they offered. But our most recent refrigerator has been nothing but a nightmare. It keeps failing constantly. And now, LG’s saying they won’t replace it unless I have the original receipt. So now, we’re stuck with a broken refrigerator till I can potentially find a way to get a receipt. I’m extremely likely to go to a different competitor after this experience. We really enjoyed the product, and they were aesthetically pleasing, but a refrigerator’s supposed to refrigerate things.

We decided to get the top of the line stove with the convection stove, black glass top self cleaning range. The oven was blue inside and all the appliances were stainless steel. Within a few months we used the self cleaning feature on the oven and afterwards, the stove digital display showed an error and nothing worked. We called and after a several weeks, we had a service person come and repair the oven. It seemed that an electrical component had burned out. We again after a month or so used the self clean feature and once again display showed an error and once again waited for a repair. The second repairman told it this the same electrical component had burned out. He informed us that it was an LG design flaw which vented the 500 plus degree cleaning temperature vented partially on the circuit board burning it out. He said to avoid this, to not use the self cleaning feature. So this top of the line self cleaning oven had to be hand scraped clean. We have now noticed that the outer door on the oven is starting to fall off. The inner door is in place and the only thing holding the outer door on right now is the handle. Why of course we are out of warranty and now do we pay outrageous service call fees and parts or let it fall the rest of the way apart and trash it? The refrigerator shelves are flimsy and several have cracks and it takes, if you dont use it, approximately 4 days for the ice bin to fill. Its too bad that you can spend a great deal of money on a product and have problems with it several months after making the purchase. My wife is a Real Estate Broker and will make sure no new or homeowners needing appliance to steer clear of LG products.

LG Dryer DLEX5170V - We purchased a new washer and dryer from HHGregg in February 2014 with a 5 year extended warranty. To date, we have no problems with our washing machine but the dryer has stopped heating on three different occasions. Today, I called My Protection Plan360 to request another service call for my dryer as it no longer heats and was told that I would instead be contacted within 3-5 days with a refund to purchase a new dryer. There goes our matching LG washer and dryer series!

I like the ice machine and able to adjust the temperature to your liking, also how it is long-lasting and always keeps things cold. Also you never have to worry about food going bad because it keeps everything super cold. What would improve the refrigerator if it came in more colors and a wider variety of ice textures to fit everybodys personal needs and also wish it had a ice cream maker to make ice cream or ice pops or another cool thing would be a coffee maker button to make coffee of any kind you want. It has been my expectations, a 10 out of 10 and it was on sale and most importantly it was recommended to me by my friends. I have no regrets purchasing this item. I love it and I will have it for many many more years to come.

Purchased the LG 5 element double oven slide-in range in late June, 2019 along with an LG dishwasher. In September, while using multiple elements, the range must have overheated because it shut off and flashed an error notice that I had to dig deep on the web/blogs to figure out what it was...Best I could come up with was motherboard failure. I cut power from the circuit and the next day and since, no problem with the error. THAT is not the issue right now. Lets start with the cooktop. I am OCD with cleaning the top. It even gets a wipe down when it hasnt been used. There are white marks on 3/5 of the elements. The previous range, which was 15 plus years old did not have these marks and that cooktop took a beating.I get things that are used cannot look showroom new, but 8 months of not daily use and it looks older than the previous range...which is very frustrating. Now lets move to the ovens. This model has the bright blue enamel interior. The easy clean function does NOTHING at all. Spills and drips happen and the easy clean was one of the reasons I selected the LG model. Ok, so I just gently wiped the minor spills and drips with a wet rag when the oven cooled and would do the self clean as needed. I wipe the glass on the oven doors regularly and honestly have no clue how there are drips in between the glass on both top and bottom. You cant see it unless the door is open or the light is on but they are there and shouldnt be unless there is a problem with the door/glass seals..NOW, today I ran the self clean cycle for the first time since purchasing this unit. I am absolutely livid!! The cycle ran for four hours and then it took some more time to cool so I could wipe the accumulated ash from all of the cleaned spatter and drips that I couldnt wipe out. Both top and bottom ovens look ruined. The grime just cooked into the finish! While wiping with the damp towel, it was shiny and looked clean. As it dried, it looked like bacon cooled bacon grease. I wiped again with another towel and dried with a microfiber cloth...still there and will NOT go back to the shiny finish and seriously looks like coagulated bacon grease. This range was not cheap but is manufactured extremely cheaply. I am sick to my stomach with my decision to buy this unit as opposed to one that was more readily available. The dishwasher I have no problem with so far but this range is absolute JUNK! I looked at many reviews prior to purchase but I wish I had looked at this site before purchasing this unit because this would have tipped me into the cons...dont buy column. Do not purchase an LG range!

I bought a LG 2 door refrigerator with the freezer below in 2017, from Sears as a Kenmore Elite. The unit has a fan freeze up issue in the refrigerator section. I called Sears Service for repair since LG will not deal with a Sears product of theirs. I paid Sears $584 to come and replace the fan, and fan control. This was the FIX that LG told Sears would solve the problem. Its now 4 months after the |fix and the problem is back!. Its now past the Sears warranty, so I will have to pay again f I want this LG piece of garbage fixed again. Bottom line is simple. DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR FROM ANYONE EVER.

LG French door model - I purchased one of the most expensive fridges in the LG lineup about 3.5 years ago. It stopped working - no cold air anywhere. I called LG, and they offered me a flat rate deal to send a technician and fix the fridge (about $210). I paid and a technician came. The problem was the compressor relay. He could not order the part because it was discontinued. It took LG 4 weeks to agree that the part was not available (during that time, I was without a fridge). Every time I called to inquire, they told me to be patient. Now, their only offer is to pro-rate the fridge value and pay me around $900 towards the value of a new LG Fridge. I asked for a replacement; they refused. To add insult to injury, they said I am not even getting back the full $210 repair cost because the technician still has to get paid, although nothing was fixed. LG makes a wide range of goods. I will not be buying any of their products, ever.

I have only compliments and no issues whatsoever with 2 sets of LG washers & dryers purchased new at Frys. This review concerns the quality of the washers & dryers themselves, as I have not had to deal with customer services at all, having no repair or return. Had I read the numerous horror stories on this website I would probably think twice about LG appliances. However, I have absolutely no problems with my LG washers/Dryers. The first pair, purchased in March 2011 were front-load 4CF washer model WM2101HW, and WM2101HW, electric dryer. This set still works perfectly at my exs place. The second set, purchased 11/2014, were top-load 4.7CF washer model WT5070CV, and DLE1101W electric dryer. This brand new set works great - the washer has a huge capacity with a short, stubby agitator at the bottom. However, I miss my old LG front-load washers advantages: it uses less water yet cleans clothes slightly better, it is much gentler on clothes hence producing little lint if any, and it washes bulky loads such as pillows better because, having no agitator, it just tumbles the load over and over. So far so good, knock on wood.

I order a part (freezer fan) for my refrigerator (7 years old) on 10-21-16 and is in manufacturer backorder until according to LG, 12-31-16. After several calls to LG customer service (first call answered from Philippines) without answers. Today I call LG parts. They transfer me to east coast parts authorized store (NOT LG) and they gave me the 12-31-16 date. When I ask why take too long she said because the refrigerator is old and they do not stock parts from discontinued models. Sears sold 750 of this failing fans. That means they have a quality problem with the product and should have stock to resolve the inconvenience. Recommendation STAY AWAY FROM LG PRODUCTS.

For years my Whirlpool washer produced a really bad smell, but customer service denied everything. Finally the front loader flooded my house creating over $50k in damages... We moved on to LG products (EVERYTHING IN THE HOUSE IS LG). Hmmm!!! Stove top, had to be exchanged within days. Fridge in the process of exchanging (full refund after almost 5 yrs). Washer was bad from the very first week but they always denied everything in regards to why it continuously goes out of balance. MY water bill went up 4X because of this out of balance issue. They refuse to do anything about it, but its not over!!!I will continue to post how bad their customer service and appliances are, until they at least replace or repair it... The spin cycle is violent and shakes the house so bad it sounds like it will explode. Customer service did not want to hear it from the very start. Lowes where we purchased the unit refer me back to LG and LG referred back to Lowes. Just a game they play to stall everything. Customer service is horrible, they only have one line “Sorry we can’t help with that”. They refuse to accept they have a really bad design and it can cause harm!!! Unless they replace or repair my unit, I will never ever buy another LG product again...

Purchased an LG Direct Drive washing machine model WT5001CW in 2011 from Sears. Seemed to be working well. Would get UE error for unbalanced loads now and then, and machine would stop. In 2013 we received a recall repair notice and as a good consumer scheduled the repair. Since then, the machine has not worked properly. We get UE message sometimes but typically at the 9 minute point in cycle, it goes into a continual refill/empty mode. We have to reposition clothing and try to get it to spin clothes but it rarely does. We end up having to cancel the cycle and re-program a spin only cycle. Sometimes this resolves the issue but most of the time doesnt. I called LG today to let them know what is happening and got nowhere. The rep said I am out of warranty date. I explained this has been happening since recall fix but it didnt matter. He offered to schedule a repair but it would cost a minimum of $200. Basically, a 4 y/o super expensive ($900) washer is defective due to their repair.

I purchased a brand new house not even a year ago. I was beyond excited that NEW LG appliances will be included with the house. Little did I know. My first issue was that the ice machine did not make ice. Next my refrigerator started defrosting all my food in the freezer component. Thankfully I had a full warranty. I was wrong, no one in Customer Service nor executive services wanted to help. They pretty much left me to deal with this issue alone, 4 technicians later my fridge is still not fixed. Purchased LGs gas oven, in part for its brilliant blue interior. Well within the first year of use, the interior base shelf had corroded, as if some solvent had been applied to remove the paint. Since I never bake citric foods (no lasagna, no fruit pies), I could not explain how this ugly disfiguring of the interior of the oven could have occurred. Running ones hands over the surface, it feels like sandpaper.Additionally, the internal temperature is approximately 25 degrees off, based on an oven temperature gauge purchased to check the ovens accuracy. Both of these problems bring into question the overall integrity of this LG gas oven. I would not recommend anyone purchase an LG appliance.

Day 26, fridge held hostage. Now I’m being told I have to wait another 8 days before someone comes out again. That’s 34 days with no refrigerator. My extended warranty is 5 years, and states reimbursement after 3 failed repairs. They now want to run external lines on the back wall and drilling through the sealed wall. Totally unacceptable. My daughter and I bought a house with new appliances, (LG) the refrigerator
My daughter and I bought a house with new appliances, (LG) the refrigerator worked for 9 months but it was three months old when we started using it. When it failed, we called LG and they said it is out of warranty, you can hire an independent technician or hire us to diagnose the appliance. We hired someone who said it had a defective piece from fabrication. We called back to LG, they said they will repair for $400 where they will include the defective piece. I paid ($400) and they sent their technician who came and in a 5 minutes visit he said he came just to learn what was the problem, he would be back (one month already in this process). The next days we received a phone call from LG saying they wouldnt repair it because someone already put their hands on it and that we can expect $200 hundred refund (from my $400 I just paid) because the visit costs $200.How sad, how unfair, with my daughter a young person struggling to pay her bills receiving a treatment like this one. Now she has been more than a month with no refrigerator, lost the money she paid for the first technician and again the same amount by having LG putting their hands into her account in such a way. Their only suggestion is to buy a new one. Can I expect a little of justice for my daughter? I m planning to write a letter to the CEO but I know the chances for him to never read it are higher that the opposite. I hope you can do something about it.

On September 24, 2007 I purchased an LG refrigerator (model # LRSC26923TT), dishwasher and microwave at Gabowitz Appliances, East Brunswick, New Jersey. At that time I purchased an extended warranty for the refrigerator. The refrigerator needed to have the icemaker replaced within the year. The repairman told me it was a defective part and since then, it has had to be replaced four times for the same reason. The icemaker melts and becomes deformed. LG keeps replacing the defective part with another defective part as they have not fixed the defect. My extended warranty expires in September, 2012 and from hereon in, I will have to pay approximately $350.00--the price the repairman said it will cost--when it again needs a repair since it was again replaced with a part that is the same as the defective part (as per the repairman). When I wrote to LG they just answered that it is out of the manufacturer’s warranty and they have no obligations.

It cost 300.00 to repair and it is very hard to find someone to work on it. I was told LG doesnt have spec sheets for anyone to repair their products. It makes it hard. I was also told that it is hard to find parts as LG Discontinues them frequently. Got it fixed in December of 2019 and here we are again. The convection oven stopped working and was shooting out flames. I researched and found out this always fails on this range. Totally disappointed. Couldnt find anyone to repair it in my area and I tried to order the part for it and spent an additional 80.00. Still can not get it to work. Now I am at the point of buying a different range and definitely wont be an LG. I am so upset. I wasted my money. Do not waste your money on the washer, and do not bother getting Home Depot extended warranty. Both are useless. LG doesnt want to know anything after only 1 year. Extended warranty states that it is not a covered service, so why the extended warranty? Just to get more money out of you. Washer has defect - seal gets damaged and they state it is not a mechanical problem, even though water is leaking due to the seal hole. The rep told me the seal just keeps the door closed, but the washer is working fine. The seal gets damaged due to a manufacture defect. They know this and so it is not covered. I searched many reviews and complaints are all the same. Do not bother purchasing LG products. You get no help in correcting their defects!

Obviously, this company does not produce quality appliances, does not adequately service what it sells or stand behind the products. LMV1680ST - I have owned this microwave almost 2 years, but only used it for about 1 year after my remodel was completed. My cook light wouldnt go off. It would stay on while the microwave was in use. I began to smell plastic burning and heard a popping sound on the left where the operational pad is located. This microwave is not safe. Please do not take the chance of kitchen fire. Support says the microwave is out of warranty and I do not want it fixed.

Stopped working 2 days ago. The refrigerator is still under warranty and they are sending a technician through a 3rd party company to repair it. Why wouldn’t LG supply a new refrigerator instead of fixing it? Trustbuster. Spoilt food. Forced to work from home to attend to the technician. Extremely unhappy.

I have an LG front load washing machine that has pretty much stopped working after exactly 18 months. The drum no longer spins and there never was an error code displayed. I called the service department and we were unable to troubleshoot it over the phone. He referred me to the one and only LG repair service in Cincinnati for repairs. The parts are (maybe) covered, but not the labor. Just for the service to come out is $80. Unbelievable! We loved this machine initially. It wasnt three months though before we started to notice that not only were our clothes not getting clean, but they smelled horrible. We have to run bleach regularly and use vinegar with every load. This is truly some kind of racket they are running. What happened to the old dependable appliances that lasted 10+ years? I guess you cant make money if the machines last so long they dont need to be replaced.

I had purchased a Sears Kenmore Fridge model #795.74023.411 in August 2015. Sears had recently gone out of business here in Canada. This fridge had cost almost $3000.00 and was manufactured by LG. I had contacted LG who suggested a LG certified service person. Service person attended and I was told that the compressor was broken and that the cost to fix this fridge was $900.00. I had called LG several times and they keep telling me the same thing. We are not covering this part under warranty because this is the agreement we had with Sears. I had also tried escalating this within LG and each person I talk to theres no point of escalating it further because theyre going to tell you the same thing. I asked LG if its normal for a $3000 fridge to only last 2 1/2 years and they stated it must be defective. Yet LG manufactured this defective fridge and they keep using the demise of Sears as an excuse to not cover this. I feel that the customer service and policies at LG are pathetic. I have now been without a fridge for almost 6 weeks as I cannot afford to pay $900 to fix this, nor do I feel I should have to. LGs customer service is pathetic and their products are garbage. Stay clear of LG.

1) Super-duper energy efficiency is achieved by hard tumbling. I always set up this machine on the lowest possible setting for soil and spinning, yet it ruined a whole load of clothes. Everything made of knitted fabric (read: all T-shirts and all short-sleeve shirts) after one single washing cycle is stretched to the point that it is no longer usable, precisely - became 2 times wider and 2 times shorter. Also, I have 2 regular shirts ruined - the machine tears off buttons with pieces of fabric, and just tears apart fine fabric. I want to underline again - it happened on the lowest soil and spin setting. So, basically, if you are interested in Delicate cycle - it does not exist. All other cycles have no value, since you will get your clothes ruined anyway. The only thing the machine could be usable - washing jeans and soldier uniforms. Towels and linens are okay too, but forget about washing your clothes, any knitted and fine fabric.2) Because it is high energy efficiency machine, you cannot choose water temperature. Well, nominally you can, but in practice it tries to use cold water. In most of the settings except the last one, you will get cold water in the washing tank. The highest possible setting, hot/warm still uses cold water from the tap, and the machine does not have a water heater. So, to get hot water only you have to dance around it, and turn cold water tap off, then on.3) Water efficiency feature does not exist - it has a couple of settings like half tank and full tank. So, if you want to wash a couple of jeans or 4 shirts, you will get a half tank of water, and the tank is huge.Overall - taking into account the price, the efficiency, and the amount of good clothes I have spoiled by the machine - this is the worst purchase in my life.

Bought online Costco store. Paid over $2000.00. Both fridge and freezer sections died suddenly in less than 3 years. LG sent repaired person first visit Nothing wrong (But frozen meat are become soft.) Second visit he did something. It works but not as cold as you expect. In next few months again stopped working. I am so tired of cleaning out rotten food, dairy, meat and seafood. I never had such problem with GE or Kenmore. I will never buy LG anymore. So happy to have big fridge with bottom freezer, door in door latest style. I have not even call this time yet. Just finish clean up all inside this Fridge. I hope my warranty is still good or I will complain to Costco and LG to do something. I am tired of this again and again. I won’t expect after I spent this much money to get such useless material and service takes 9 days first time to come. How unhelpful. I tracked down my receipts and have everything but I have to search where I kept. No problem, Costco online always can get it again.

Man I wish we would have paid for new racks for our old KitchenAid. My blood pressure rises every time, every time I load up this crappy LG dishwasher. The tines are badly located, what is with the big area on the lower rack that had no tines? Because of the rack/tine design, we get about 20% less dishes in this thing. Then it runs forever but that is part of all new dishwashers. I like how sites say to run the water first so the water is hot. Yep KitchenAid heated the water much better. It had a heating element on the bottom that dried the dishes. KitchenAid had a filter on the bottom that was easily removable. The spray arms on the LG are so flimsy. I wonder if they will last 2 years. Errr!!!

We purchased a kitchen suite from Home Depot 11/17. First of all we had the dishwasher go out then the stove and finally the 4 door fridge. We bought the 3 year warranty for peace of mind so you would think we would be set. The customer service is overseas which isnt a problem except a few of them were hard to understand. They gave us the runaround and after 3 days and many hours on the phone I started keeping detailed notes of my conversations. I asked a employee for their full name or employee number but was told they are not allowed to share that information making it impossible to keep track of people for future references. We ended up losing 90 % of the food in the freezer and all in the refrigerator! We are having to eat out every night and unable to keep leftovers for work. I told them that my son is diabetic and his insulin needs to be refrigerated as well as does the babys whole milk. They said it will be approximately 2 weeks before a service tech will be available. Ive NEVER in my life had such a horrible experience with the purchase of new products and urge whomever is reading this to be cautious and review all products pro and cons before purchasing.

Then the ice maker had a leak in the back so large sheets of ice would get stuck behind & prevent us from taking out the ice tray/compartment. Got it repaired. Then the filter compartment started leaking again. Got it repaired. And the biggest problem of all, the compressor died and it took a week to have it repaired. Lost a lot of food & homemade prepared meals in the freezer not to mention being a week without a fridge!!! Got it repaired. 5 days after the repair, the new compressor died again!!! The day after I went to Costco to restock the fridge & freezer!!! Im still waiting for the warranty people to call me to set up a service! I just might lose my mind! There is no way on earth a fridge costing nearly $3K should give this much trouble so early on in its life!

I purchased the LG DLE2050W Dryer along with the matching washer 2.5 yrs ago. We have replaced a sensor, a fuse and when the dryer quit drying a week ago, I thought here we go again, ordered another fuse and guess what, that didnt work this time. I have had a couple of dryers over the 32 yrs of our marriage, and never had to replace more than a heating coil even with 2 boys growing up here. It is just my husband and I now, 2-3 loads a week and dealing with this is ridiculous. You have to take the drum out to get to the most minute parts and what a pain that is. So, this dryer will be stuck in the corner of the basement and tomorrow, I am getting a new Whirlpool and feel confident I wont be dealing with these issues again.

I made inquiries of several washing machine repairers and the consensus is that a lot of washing machines with plastic hinges do break. I feel LG has some responsibility in the poor quality goods. LG replied to my email for assistance: Hi there, I have spoken to management, they have advised there is no warranty cover for this damage. My 3-year-old LG Refrigerator has a failed linear compressor. Apparently this is a known defect since 2014 which was before this refrigerator was purchased in 2016. There is currently a class-action lawsuit filed against LG. I have received the run around from LG. I have called every day since 9/28 and have received a different story about how to get it repaired and if the part has been ordered and where it is in the shipping process. I have now been without a working refrigerator for a week with no end in sight. I have 4 children and 3 adults in my household. This is a HUGE problem. Short of buying a new fridge I have no recourse. No one can tell me when it will be repaired or when I will even receive the part. I do have a guy who will replace the part when I finally get it but every time I call LG I get a different story about where the part is and when it will finally be shipped. The process to get this part has changed with every phone call I make, as has the time frame. On Saturday when I called it was 1-3 days. On Monday when I called it was 3-5 days. On Tuesday when I called it was 7-10 days. Today when I called it was again 3-5 days and still has not shipped. Then I had Jenn from LG call and offer a mini-fridge until we get our part on Friday, but we wouldnt get the mini-fridge until Friday which is when she told me the part will be here. She then offered me $250 for spoiled food, which is quite inadequate since we had to go purchase a mini-fridge already and I am spending about $10 per day for ice to keep the rest of our refrigerated products on ice. She told me the part would be here by Friday 10/4 but when I called LG customer service today 10/3, the part has still not shipped and they said it would still be 3-5 days before the part even ships. Jenn also sent me a text and said I could text her at any time to get an update about my part. I have now texted Jenn 4 different times over two days and have yet to receive a response from her. I dont even know what to believe at this point. I think that contacting an attorney to get some recourse will be my next step. I am going to have to go purchase a new refrigerator since LG is incapable of getting my 3-year-old refrigerator fixed in a timely manner. Steer clear of this horrible company with horrible products! This is the second problem we have had with this refrigerator. The LG dishwasher we have that was purchased at the same time is now on its second motor. It is also 3 years old. Terrible, terrible products! Huge run around from customer service.

Lifes Good company need to change their name to Lifes Terrible. Recently my refrigerator broke down and its been out of service for about one month now. My husband has contacted LG customer service on numerous occasions. They supposedly arranged (via telephone) for a repair company in our area to come by and service the refrigerator. My husband sat around all day waiting on someone to show up to repair the refrigerator (because they didnt have a definite time a repair technician would stop by). Needless to say, the whole day was wasted, because no one showed up to repair the refrigerator. When my husband called the local appliance company that supposedly had the order to come and repair the refrigerator, they knew nothing about a service order to repair our refrigerator. When my husband spoke with a customer service representative, he was told that the local company would contact him. To this date, no one locally has contacted us. He has spoken with customer service on numerous occasions. He called a company in a city about 150 miles away, if that far, and was told they didnt travel that far to make repairs. He has spoken with customer service at LG on numerous occasions and keeps getting the run around about how they understand being without a refrigerator for a month, but they havent made any progress to fix the situation. Whats worse about this situation is that we own two of LGs refrigerators. We will NEVER, I repeat NEVER purchase another LG appliance or anything else that LG owns, because they have been very apathetic about our situation and doesnt care that weve lost a lot of food that was in the refrigerator and freezer. We are improvising with a little dorm refrigerator and they are not doing ANYTHING to remedy this situation. Were going to tell everyone we know, dont purchase LG appliances or anything that has LGs label attached to it. The lack of service is unacceptable and the absolute worse experience weve ever faced with any purchase, large or small. Life IS NOT good with LG. LG change your name!

LG WT1101CW Washing Machine. Dont Buy LG. Warranty Not Honored. I purchased an LG top loading washing machine a year and a half ago after my twenty-year-old Maytag machine made of steel with a solid lid that finally needed to be replaced. Within months of buying this machine, the plastic around the hinges of the lid began to crack and started to crumble at the hinges. The plastic is not holding up to the opening and closing of the lid on my unit. I had the lid and hinges replaced four times for the same problem. Once the plastic around the hinges starts to crack and disintegrate, the lid cannot close, and you cannot use the machine at all. Customer service assured me after the fourth repair for the same problem that the unit would be replaced as defective. The plastic on the new lid after 5 months is starting to crack again, so I called and found out that my case was directed to the Defective Return Team and they rejected the claim. They told me it has been over a year since the purchase and it is now out of warranty. I have been repairing this brand new machine within a few months of purchasing it. Home Depot says its out of their hands, its up to LG but LG has not adhered to their own policy that after three visits to repair the same problem, it is considered unrepairable and is considered to be a defective machine and will be replaced. They will now send a technician out for a fifth time for the same repair. Its not fixing the problem! The lid keeps cracking around the hinges on both sides. Poor quality, poor workmanship, cheap materials and they will not replace the machine, and now that it is out of warranty, they may not replace the lid when it cracks again and I will have a machine I cannot use that I paid almost $700 for. After experiencing this, I will never buy another LG product again.

We purchased an LG machine from Home Depot several months ago. It has broken 5 times. It has just broken again with nice clothing in it soaking wet with soap in them. LG customer service has been horrible. They said they can come next week at the earliest. The representatives were not helpful. When I asked who they reported to in order to escalate the situation to fix the machine and save my clothes, they said Bon-Moo Koo, the CEO in Korea. That is not a helpful problem resolution path. I am very dissatisfied with their product and even more dissatisfied with their customer service team who were awful. I am now working with Home Depot who are being helpful to return the machine and get another one as I cannot use this one as it breaks all the time. I purchased an LG electric range and refrigerator. An extended warranty was not purchased, as I didnt feel a $1400.00 range and $1700.00 refrigerator would require repairs in a 5-year period. The refrigerator has been problematic (leaks and broken plastic drawers), but it keeps the food cold. So well deal with the unsightly leaks and work to the best of our ability to keep our expensive wood floor dry. My current problem is my electric range. It quit working altogether, and by reading many complaints, the model is infamous for this breakdown. In speaking to LG customer service department, the only remedy she could offer is the name and number for the only repairman they have contracted in the Louisville area. An appointment was arranged with Universal Appliance, which was confirmed before I took 5 hours of unpaid time off from work. Needless to say, they did not show up. I was given an explanation and told they would be here before 10 am the following day (more unpaid time off work). It is 9:55 am and still no repairman. We purchased all new appliances including a stainless LG Refrigerator (LSC22991ST/001) from Home Depot. The first year of use had a problem with the inside of the full back panel of the refrigerator being packed with ice behind the panel even though there was no error message on the display, thus not allowing water to flow with the defrost problems. Repair service was performed. A year later, the same thing happened with ice packed and bulging inward behind the back panel of the refrigerator with an error message dh f. LG basically said too bad, no warranty, none of the problem was covered by them. The repairman was called locally, who had done the first repair; however, he was no longer on LGs service list for the area because he refused to work with them due to low pay, problems with getting parts, etc. On April 16, 2018 he ordered the parts for the error message from LG. Meanwhile, we were out-of-town and came back to a refrigerator of food that had thawed and needed to be thrown out -- hundreds of dollars. The parts that had been ordered on April 16, 2018 came in a full 7 weeks later (almost 8) and were replaced on June 5, 2018. LG refuses to take any responsibility for this problem. Their attitude is terrible when it comes to customer service. The refrigerator that cost more than $2400 on sale has only been used 2 years and has had the two same problems. It is terrible that LG knows these problems will come up due to poor manufacturing and if the consumer doesnt buy the extended warranty it is obvious that they know they will make their money by charging for parts. The repairman indicated that there are lots of other customers with the same problems -- he repairs them and knows! Sick! Very upset, and there doesnt appear to be any concern from LG.

I purchased this dryer a year and a half ago. The problem that we have been encountering is that the clothes or bedsheets we dry always get caught in the lint trap. They will spin around each other, twist each other, stretch out and each time just makes it worse. It has ruined a lot of our clothes already since then. Worst of all, when I did my last laundry drying my bedsheets recently, I found the dryer door wide open by itself (no one touched it or opened the dryer) and all the sheets are all tangled up and twisted giving me more work to do. I was so shocked to see this. One piece of advice, never leave the dryer unattended if youre drying anything. Such a lousy product. Not worth my money. Too scared for my older children to use this when I am not around to supervise them. I am honestly not happy and dissatisfied with this product.
