LG Refrigerator Model LRSOS2706D
My husband and I really researched washer/dryer sets. Living in CA, we wanted to be as green as possible, but also get value from our purchase. We settled on the LG Steam Front Load Washer and Dryer, and at first were very happy. However, not too soon after our purchase, I noticed that my tank top straps were tearing, my husband found tears and rips in new t-shirts and some underwear was twisted to the point of being ruined. Finally, after numerous clothing loss, which was starting to get expensive, I researched what was going on and found that the dryer lint screen was the culprit; in fact, many other people appeared to have the same problem. I tried at first to purchase a replacement on Amazon, but there is no way to get this without paying full original manufacturer price (the only lint screen that is not available on Amazon, btw). Clearly, the manufacturers know that this is a defect in their dryer, but I went ahead and purchased a new one. It came three weeks ago, and I immediately replaced the screen.Within two loads (and we do not overload our washer... in fact, I usually run small loads because I am a dance teacher and my children take dance class regularly, so there are multiple small loads of dancewear), the same problem occurred. Again, torn leotards, twisted and ruined tights, bras damaged beyond salvaging, etc., etc. Should I purchase a mesh bag for these items? There are so many items that these dryers damage, that it would be counterproductive. However, I did try with a lingerie bag and the actual cord got so tangled around the bag because of this defective lint screen that I had to throw the bag out.Just tonight I lost three items (please see the photo, below). If I could I would rip this dryer out and put it on the corner, and purchase something else. I will never buy an LG product again. I am disappointed and upset at not only the waste from the purchase of this machine, but the loss of all my garments this machine was meant to clean and maintain. Shame on LG.
Use the sanitizing cycle every week otherwise the old water in the drain will contaminate your clothes. Not having an agitator is definitely gentle however, the spinning cycle if set on high will shred everything especially towels.
I purchased LG refrigerator Model LFX28968 3 years ago. Since then I have nothing but troubles. Refrigeration section and ice maker are frequently out of order. LG repairman never solved problem saying the unit itself is defect and he cant repair it. He reported to service department supervisor about the defect, but the supervisor said to him it worked for 3 years and LG is not going to replace the unit nor will try to repair again. I got a lemon product. Anyone want to buy LG refrigerator must check the LG Service and their irresponsibility. I strongly urge anyone stay out of LG products. Otherwise, you will get stucked with problems.
Lg top load washer - Every time I wash my white clothes I cringe, because I know that the next wash is my color clothes and thats when my problems begin. Nine out of ten washes one or two article of clothing have bleach mark on it. This machine is destroying my clothes.
This dishwasher cost me about $900.00 in late 2008. The motor went out at one year. Fortunately, it was replaced under warranty. Christmas 2012, just 4 years after purchase, the motor went out again. I run it once or maybe twice a week. LG says they stand behind their product, but they refuse to reimburse me for any of the parts or labor to replace the motor for the second time in 4 years. I cant spend that kind of money on another dishwasher and I planned on having this one for a long time. As soon as I can afford to, I will replace it and I will not buy LG again.
My 6-month old microwave, under warranty, stopped working. Attempts to get a locally authorized repair company were unsuccessful. One company didnt come into Maryland, another wouldnt have a technician for two months and the third one only did TVs. Numerous requests for assistance and difficulty understanding people with accents, finally led me to the supervisor who said he would authorize payment of the repair. He did but it took too long for help with people who simply were unable to help. I will never buy another LG product again because of the poor customer service.
Ive owned this LG washing machine and dryer for about 2 years now. I found that if I dont overload the machine, it cleans the clothes fairly well. I do think the amount of water used is too small. Its just not sufficient enough to soak into the clothes to loosen the dirt and odors. The odor is the sign that it needs to be reprogrammed for more water. When it was programmed for the amount of water it uses now, the engineers lengthened the washing cycle, which increases electricity use. Lengthen the cycle did not cause the clothes to get cleaner. More water is the key and maybe a redo of the soap used in cleaning the clothes. Either way there must be an adjustment. Lets hope they listen eventually or they will lose sales big time. My sister has the same problem with her front load machine. The dryer is just fine, great. You just have to take my word for it. Pictures wont give you the smell and why would I lie about a purchase that I paid over a thousand dollars to buy?
I love the LG Refrigerator but the filter in the ice maker is not efficient and wont filter right. A guy that works for my son bought one that was almost identical to ours, and they were talking one day and he was having the same problem. Everything was taken out from that ice maker and replaced but still, nothing. We kept doing little tests here and there with the ice and it was the water filter that you put inside the door. I noticed that when the rep came out and put it in that it was very small. We had to pay 200 and some dollars for an ice maker and the ice has not been used for the first three months that we’ve had the refrigerator. Dean asked for 10 filters and the lady he talked to said no but she said that she would send five of them. She typed in the wrong numbers and sent the whole assembly where you put the filter in. There was nothing wrong with where the filter fits in and we saved that. We were gonna try to send it back if she’ll send us 5 or 10 filters. That would get us by. Its kinda unfair for us to have to spend that on a filter, replace the filters in that one every year, and then have to do the inside ones too that dont even work. He wrote her back and she has not even responded to us. Im kind of dissatisfied because its costing us a lot of money to keep it. Weve had the brand new refrigerator and had to go buy ice to put in the bottom of it because we couldnt even use our ice maker.
Our refrigerator went out about 3 weeks ago. We had one repair technician come out who said the compressor and motherboard needed to be replaced. He ordered the part and 4 days later came to do the repair. Upon disconnecting the compressor, he said there was something else wrong with the refrigerator as there was no Freon in the system. He indicated that either the evaporator was bad or there was a leak in the line. He said there should have been Freon in the system when he disconnected the compressor, but there was none. He indicated we needed to contact LG to have them send out one of their service technicians to complete the repair. That is when all the problems arose. LG issued a repair order and a new technician called us. When he learned that another technician had opened the refrigerator to change the compressor, he said he would not touch the refrigerator. We call LG back and requested the work order be directed back to the original technician at our request, but to our dismay, the technician said he did not have the equipment to do the repair. Since then we have been trying to get in touch with LGs executive services and they saying they will call us back if we get disconnected. Sure enough, when they attempt to connect us to their Executive Service group (about 2 or 3 times), we get disconnected and have not received a call back.We contacted several companies that LG has referred us to call and found one that said they would come out and evaluate the refrigerator, but we needed to get a work order from LG assigned specifically to them for them to come out and work on the refrigerator. We are still waiting on LG for that work order. What else can we do?
I want to tell you about the major issue and health problem with the top loading washer. I have been getting mold in my washer and on my clothes EVERY time I do a load of wash. This has been going on for months and it isnt going away. I run the clean cycle every few weeks hoping to keep the tub clean but it doesnt work. Ive run the clean cycle using a quart of bleach and then again using a quart of vinegar. The tub never drains properly and that is what is causing the mold. This is ridiculous and is a major health issue!!! Ive reported this to Consumer Affairs as well. This thing should be replaced immediately!!!
We just got this machine in last Friday. After doing a few loads over the weekend, I was wondering if there was something wrong. The black control panel is very hard to read! It has gray lettering on a black background. I called LG to see if there was a backlight that wasnt working, and was told that there is no backlight. Seems to me that LG has mad a very basic design error with the panel. It should have white lettering, as do most other machines with this type of panel. I actually made myself a vinyl overlay with white lettering to make it more usable for myself. Something that LG needs to address ASAP!
LG service technician came to fix our fridge 20-25 min earlier than the 2-hour appointment window started. I said we will be there by the time the window starts (2pm). He said he may wait. I said he needs to wait because I am leaving my work because of this. When I am driving on my home road (30 seconds from home), he drives past me. It is now 2:00pm. So he left before or exactly at 2:00pm and did not bother to call me. I struggled to get my phone and call him to get back. The time is now 2:01pm. He refused to turn back. His name is Scott and he is employed by LG.
My LG bottom freezer refrigerator was 4 months old when it started to emit a chemical odor that permeated the foods and made them inedible. It smelled similar to the smell that it had when it was new that the manual said would disappear a few days after running it and it did go away. I called LG, and they sent a repairman, who opened the door, said he could smell nothing and that was it. Over 2 months, I called LG and I got the run-around until finally they said they will do nothing. I replaced the fresh air filter at 6 months to see if that would help, and it knocked the odor back for a few days, but then the odor just came back. Now, I have a brand new refrigerator sitting in my kitchen that is totally useless. Do not buy this refrigerator.
This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a warning to prospective customers. I have owned my LG washer for about three years now. It has True Balance, a feature that consumes water in an attempt to balance the load. The washer is absolutely level. However it rarely completes a load because True Balance is unable to get the load balanced enough to get through the spin cycle. So I have to turn the water off. Balance it by hand. Then maybe it will get through the cycle. Often the items are too soaked to put in the 30-year old Kenmore dryer. So I have to hang them.My water bill has increased 25% since getting the washer. Have complained to LG. Initially they told me to level the washer. Now they just ignore me. Apparently because I (a person who has tested at a mechanical level in the upper 2% of the population) am unable to level a washer. I was however able to rebuild the Kenmore Dryer twice to keep that running. Thats not a recommendation of Kenmore because Kenmore isnt Kenmore anymore.
I have a 2 year old LG washer with the impeller tech, low water use, etc. I dislike it intensely. The impeller action does not move clothes sufficiently, the water levels are not sufficient to get the dirt to float out and away, and it cannot do large sheets at all. When I do sheets I have to check constantly and push them under water level, no matter what setting I use. They never completely submerge. I usually have to add additional water to hack the weight so that it adds additional, even after the extra water button is pushed. I wish I had kept my old Maytag and repaired it.
The ice maker drips on the inside and freezes whatever it touches. This is the worst ice maker we have had and were stuck with it until we can afford another. We purchased it because our other appliance are LG and wanted to match the stainless steel finish.
We bought our fridge about 7 years ago. The drawer on the upper part of the frig broke about 1 year ago, and today a giant chunk of the freezer door shelf fell off. I looked at how much replacement parts cost and the price is not justifiable. Hope LG sees this review!
This is about my front-loading washer. For some reason it ties the clothes in knots all around each other. And it doesnt put enough water in the tub. Sometimes a load of clothes is still dry in the centre when I take it out. Since its the water that cleans and your soap just helps the water, this makes the washer ineffective and difficult to use. My last front loader did neither of these things, but I was told that the quality of that brand had declined so went with LG, as Id had good experiences with some of their other products. BAH!!
LG fridge, a piece of junk. I purchased my refrigerator on Oct 2010 and have had service done on it 5 or 6 times by 3 different companies. I have been living out of a cooler for the last two weeks, which is not the first time and I feel that I need a new refrigerator or my money back to buy from a company that knows how to make a repair.
Weve had ours for less than 2 yrs. and Im totally disgusted with it. Tech came out and fixed the recall problem. That was 6 months ago, but now its showing a uE with every load. Ive tried to redistribute the clothes, but to no avail. Im tired of squeezing out my clothes in the sink before putting them in the dryer. Another Tech is coming out in 2 days. Hope he takes care of the problem. From what Ive read on this site, many others have had similar problems with this machine.
Let me start by saying I will never buy another LG product and will warn others to stay away from this manufacturer. I purchased a French Door Refrigerator Model LFX25978 and after approximately 3 years the compressor failed. Although the refrigerator was under a one year warranty, the compressor had a ten year warranty which is one of the reasons I decided to purchase it so I had a glimmer of hope that this repair would be covered by LG. NOT EVEN CLOSE. After very frustrating discussions with customer service I was told that I would have to have an authorized service center diagnose the problem at a cost of approximately $175 and upon their verification, they would send a compressor directly to my home free of charge but I would have to pay for the repair. My total cost was around $800. When all was said and done. HERE IS THE REAL KICKER. Fast forward just short of another 3 years to now and the compressor failed for the second time. Obviously there is a problem with this part that the company is unwilling to address. When I called to see if the company would make some type of accommodation, I was treated very unprofessionally and they would not offer the slightest relief. NEVER AGAIN. POOR QUALITY COUPLED WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A VERY BAD COMBINATION.
Another complaint about the plastic knobs that break and have gas leaks. I have other people in my home that use my stove and they arent aware if the knob is all the way off. Gas leaks that can lead to death! LG is doing nothing about it.
Besides being attractive, this refrigerator is the adequate size and the two fresh zone drawers are large enough and extremely handy to keep the fruits and vegetables. The outside is easy to clean and does not show fingerprints, which I appreciate very much!
I have an LG Tromm Washer and Dryer. I have only had it for a few years. As others have complained, the washer has a foul smell due to the mold that grows as a result of the water getting trapped in the rubber door seal (poor design/manufacturer defect). Its not like LG did not know about it. Look at all of the complaints. There is definitely negligence on their part at this point. At the very least, there should have been a label put on the machine that warns you not to use it in a small space, which is unrealistic since most laundry rooms are not large. How come this product has not been recalled due to the health hazard? In addition now, I cant find the reason why the dryer does not make any noise (although it does turn on) and the washer wont even turn on! Maybe this is a blessing in disguise to get rid of these machines. Unfortunately, most people are being duped out of a small fortune to buy them without being fully informed of the health hazard. This may need additional legal action. My child now has respiratory problems/asthma and is on medication daily. I have also developed an adult-onset asthma.
I like how its a touch screen. You just drag the bar with your finger. Its more effective than punching numbers. But, the microwave doesnt have a 5 seconds option so its hard to cook your food at your desired temperature. Also, its hard to keep it clean since so many girls uses it each day. I wish it was bigger so that more than one thing can be reheated since we eat a lot of leftovers or frozen meals.
I purchased an LG French door refrigerator and an LG over the stove microwave a few years ago. I think 6 years ago. I had been very pleased until a year ago when the ice maker quit working and then shortly after the door handle on the microwave broke. Both parts can be purchased to repair, but seriously? They were not inexpensive appliances, yet they were not made to last longer than 5 years without having to buy replacement parts? Im sick and tired of stuff that doesnt last anymore. My mother used the same toaster for 50 years!!! Wheres the integrity and pride in a job well done? No, I wont purchase LG again.
We recently purchased an LG washing machine, model WT1001CW. Overall, we are pleased with its design and function. It is very quiet (despite what some say about excessive noise), and for the most part it cleans okay. However, today, my wife put in some heavily soiled clothes, after an afternoon of working in her garden. These clothes were definitely dirty, but no different from clothes that we had washed dozens of times before in our previously-owned Kenmore agitator washer. Surprise! The claims we had read about that said the new impeller-type washer just didnt clean all that well are TRUE! As I write this, my wife is running the same clothes through a wash cycle for the THIRD TIME. This may not necessarily be an LG problem, but a problem with the basic concept of impeller washers. I will NEVER buy one again (unless that is all that I can buy). Sometimes new is not better.
Pleased with the performance I am getting, worse the price paid, 100% satisfaction. It was half the price with the competitors. Appealing with the design, French door on top and 2 drawers in bottom. Internal arrangements were also not bad, very flexible.
Best microwave weve ever owned. The round interior is way better than the usual rectangular interiors on most other models. Its easy to operate, and performs better than expected. If this one ever breaks down, well replace it with another similar model.
We had an LG washer and dryer and when we were shopping, we liked the brand. I like the refrigerators space, and the reflector under the French doors. But we had to have the compressor replaced twice in like three and a half years. The refrigerator seems to be okay now though. The tech said that when I got the first one replaced, they haven’t actually solved the issue with the compressor yet. He said that now, it has been updated and it should be fine.
I liked the pricing as well as the features that this refrigerator had to offer. And it fit conveniently in the space provided. I liked the fact that it had an automatice ice maker along with purified water. I liked the freezer space and also space for the vegetables and fruits as well as the meats. There were no features that I disliked about this refrigerator other than it didnt process ice quick enough for me and especially when I had company over for outings.
Pity theres not a less than 0 stars option. I do several loads of laundry a week for a family of five. The washer doesnt even wet the clothes: I mean the clothes are actually dry in the middle of the load; only the outside of a medium-sized load gets wet. I called LG. When I told the repair guy that the washer didnt get the clothes wet, he checked it and said nothings wrong, thats just how it goes. Here is the proper way to use this washer: Pretreat and load clothes. Run water in laundry room sink until hot; fill a bucket with soapy water, and pour over clothes in machine to make sure they get wet. Set washer to: cotton, pre-wash, extra high heat, highest spin speed, heavily soiled, water plus, and turn on the machine. Wait two and a half hours, and then repeat. Thats right--about two and a half hours to get a load done, five to get them more-or-less presentable. Cold is cold; tap cold--whatever that it--is cold, warm is cold, hot is cold, extra hot is actually hot.I emailed Energy Star: they said that if I have a problem with the machine I should call the manufacturer. When I explained that the machine was working to spec--that it was designed that way--they explained that they DONT TEST the Energy Star machines to make sure they do the job theyre supposed to, they rely on the manufacturer to confirm that the appliance does the job its supposed to AND meet Energy Star requirements. Somebody needs to clue in the EPA and Energy Star: if you have to wash every load twice, in blazing hot water, and replace the appliance every 3 - 5 years (typical of modern machines) youre not saving resources. Getting rid of this and getting an old-fashioned Speed Queen.
The unit is larger than the one it replaced. French door gives more flexibility than side by side. Also, it has a door in door feature. Very good for conserving energy. Very nice looking and lots of room. Im very happy.
I purchased LG stainless double-door bottom freezer refrigerator model #lfy25980st in 2009. I purchased a two-year extended warranty on the item. From the first six months, the ice maker and water dispenser worker poorly. Servicemen were out several times attempting to repair it. Finally they replaced it. I woke up several times after that to water all over my kitchen floor where water was running from dispenser. Then in September of 2011, I came home from vacation to find all the food in the freezer thawed and milk spoiled in fridge. In December that same year, the food on top shelf of fridge was frozen. I was told that I had the vents blocked with too much food. In 2012, the digital lock signal on the door panel would make sounds turning on and off the lock which turns off the water and ice dispenser. It made this noise all night. At this time, my warranty was up and I was using my home warranty plan at $55.00 per visit with a visit sometimes twice a month. I lost food at $400.00 a second time. The service men came out, changed the freezer sensor twice, replaced freezer door on unit and changed the motherboard in back of unit. It still didnt work properly. My home warranty company called LG, spoke to a gentleman named Alex who deemed it unrepairable on March 29th, 2014 with a wiring problem. I was told to send in my proof of purchase and repair history and they would replace or discount another one. Today, 5/8/2014, they have done nothing. As a matter of fact, I was told that since I had a warranty company, they would do nothing. The company only covers $500.00 per year on any covered item and they had already spent that trying to repair it. I would think LG could make a unit that works, not just looks good. Not even two good years. No one should ever buy LG products; I know that is it for my family!!
In August 2011, I bought an LG top load washer (WT5001CW) at Sears as well as a dryer for a total price of $1,850. Less than one year later, the lid on the washer locked. When the technician opened up the top panel, I noticed that the metal was scorched - like in fire. The entire board had to be replaced. Ive also noticed a foul smell ever since Ive had the washer. Recently, I was notified of a recall due to some balancing problem. I was also sent a sticker advising me not to wash or spin any item known to be waterproof or water resistant, even if the label on the item permits machine washing. I was under the impression this warning would only be in effect until the recall problem was taken care of. Oh no, the technician who came out made sure he told me never to wash things like bathmats or mattress covers that may have rubber/vinyl backing. I asked what am I to do since bathmats for one thing need frequent washing. He told me, Lady, go to the laundromat. Im 75 years old on a fixed income and the money I paid for these appliances was hard to come by. Ive had many different washing machines in my lifetime, but never encountered anything like this. I wish the LG CEOs office was nearby so I could dump this piece of crap in front of his desk. Life is not so good right now.
I have model LSSE3026ST (LG Studio electric range). As others have reported, the stovetop turns on with the slightest bump of a knob. We have had dinner guests help in the kitchen and accidentally turn on the stove. My husband and I have accidentally turned the stove on numerous times as we reach into a cabinet or the microwave. I have to check the stove each time I leave the house because I am terrified that somebody in our house may have accidentally bumped a knob and turned the stove on. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!! LG refuses to acknowledge or correct the problem, despite numerous consumers having the same exact complaint. They have denied my request for a fix. I check recalls every week just expecting to find this range on the list, but not yet. I hope it doesn’t take a serious incident for this to be addressed.
On 7-20-2010, I purchased an LG french door refrigerator, model LFX28978ST from Best Buy for $2,168. On May 26, 2014, I reported the failure of the unit to LG. I had an LG authorized service technician diagnose the unit, and he determined that the compressor has definitely failed, and that very likely, the entire sealed system had failed as well. He, while still in my home contacted LG and conveyed the information, but they stated they would seek replacement only of the compressor to be certain. After two days, I called the service organization again to determine when the repair would be authorized and made. They noted that no authorization had been received from LG and that I would be responsible for the full cost. Thereafter, I contacted LG and requested a service authorization. It was noted that one would be provided. Approximately two days later, I re-contacted the service organization regarding the repair. They stated that LG would not allow them to seek the part from their normal parts distributor, and that it must come directly from the company. They additionally stated that they had ordered the part from the company. When I requested the shipping and estimated delivery date, the service organization stated that LG never releases that information to the service organization. As a consequence, I re-contacted LG and requested the same information. The LG representative noted at that point that the part had been ordered, was in stock, yet had not been released for shipment. The representative added that they would seek to determine its release date and return my call. They did not. I contacted LG again to inquire of the part shipping date, and was told that since so much time had elapsed, I was being transferred to the defective returns area for resolution. Once within defective returns, I was provided a non-negotiable buy back of the unit at an LG depreciated price which amounted 67.6% of the purchase price, an amount which approximates to straight line depreciation for the period the unit was owned. Inquiring as to options, the defective returns area noted the only options were to take their offer, or wait for repair. I additionally inquired as to when the part would be shipped to effect the repair, and could not be given a time frame. Even when feeling forced into an untenable offer, the LG defective returns representative was able to add injury to insult, stating it would be 2 to 3 weeks before I would receive the check representing the buy-back. The approach LG has taken in my instance has the appearance of purposefully failing to comply with the repair terms of their warranty in an effort to compel consumers to accept a non-negotiable defective product buy-back offer. In my instance, I conceded under the duress of needing to replace my refrigerator. I will, however never purchase another product manufactured by LG under any nameplate (Sears, please take note).
I have had LG service out to fix my 15 month old stove 6 times and it still wont maintain a temperature. The LG service department will not change out the defective stove saying that the replacement parts put on to NOT fix the problem werent major parts. They can set up a 7th service call to NOT fix it again. They stink AND the product stinks.
I bought this LG Gas Slide In Stove Model LSG4511ST from Home Depot online on Feb 17, 2018. Within a few weeks of barely using it all five burners on the stainless steel stove top were corroding with rust. We just spent a ton of money remodeling our kitchen and were excited to get our first and new Slide in Gas Stove. Well the nightmare began. We contacted Home Depot and they referred us to LG. Home Depot wouldn’t speak to us. We paid $1300 for the stove. After many calls, chats and emails to LG customer service and their executive office they replaced the entire SS stove top and all five burners after SIX months of hell with them. They didn’t show up, excuses, no response to emails, no call backs - HORRIBLE company. Then within a short time after they replaced parts it started corroding AGAIN around ALL FIVE burners. The calls, chats, emails to LG started again and this time they don’t respond at all. I tried Home Depot also and they will not take any responsibility. Nothing! I am sitting here with a defective ugly stove in the middle of our brand new kitchen. I am now forced to sue them. I filed a complain the US Bureau of Consumer Goods a month ago, was assigned a complaint number and “investigator” name and email and they don’t respond either. I have tons of documentation of this nightmare and photos. The icing on the cake is I wrote a review for the stove on www.homedepot.com and they “rejected” it. They didn’t want the public to know the truth about a product they sell!
I have had a bosch ventless dryer for over 10 years. I know they can be finicky, and my Bosch definitely had its issues. When it came time to replace I thought I was going to be stepping up in terms of technology and quality with LG. The washer has been fine. The dryer started leaking on the second day I used it. The repair guy said it was leaking from the drum, rust had already started so he suggested I call and have LG bring a new unit. Second unit came and it started leaking immediately too. The leaking is about 1-2 cups of water that comes out of the bottom somewhere.A second issue is the dryer is constantly stopping on its own. Just about 10 minutes in the cycle it will stop and beep. To finish a whole cycle, the button has to be pushed about 4 times.I am in the process of having Home Depot switch this one out. Im tempted to just have them return it and take my money to Best Buy to buy a Bosch dryer, but then Ill have a mismatched set for the next ten years. Im so furious at this point because I did my homework and these dryers have been such a bust.
LMV1680ST - I have owned this microwave almost 2 years, but only used it for about 1 year after my remodel was completed. My cook light wouldnt go off. It would stay on while the microwave was in use. I began to smell plastic burning and heard a popping sound on the left where the operational pad is located. This microwave is not safe. Please do not take the chance of kitchen fire. Support says the microwave is out of warranty and I do not want it fixed.
While our new LG free standing dual oven gas range cooked superbly, it is a clear danger and we convinced our retailer to accept return, even though they advised that LG would not. The control knobs turned inadvertently, allowing the gas line to open, without igniting. The technicians claimed it worked as designed. How could that be? On multiple occasions reaching for something in the cabinets above or the microwave caused the knobs the move, despite only grazing the knob. In a separate incident, our electrician placed a tarp on the range to prevent anything falling on the cook top and again, an inadvertent touching ignited the tarp. While nobody was hurt this time and no permanent property damage, we refused to accept this. We were very pleased with our retailer, PC Richard, when they agreed to the return. We recommend that nobody accept the risk.
Gas knobs on my LG 30 freestanding gas convection range (model number LRG3097ST) have malfunctioned twice; each time, theyre causing gas leaks. When my husband called, we got 4 replacement knobs with the identical issue. The issue is the plastic inserts - they break and they continue to break. This is a known issue! In my humble opinion, there should have been a recall issued a while ago on this; and you dont have to be a NASA rocket scientist to figure that out. I looked at the complaints the customers have made against the LG line, and its been going strong since 2009. I am not sure what the Consumer Protection Board is waiting on. But Im hoping to at least use this venue to get the message out. The rest of the oven works wonderfully, but the gas leak from those knobs should be addressed, and if not by LG, at least by our own Consumer Protection Board.
I too had purchased an LG top load washing machine and dryer combo model WT 5070cw. This is the second one in less than three yrs. We are having problems with wash cycles severe noise and spin cycle not draining clothes. Keeps filling up with water. Constant UE reading and it spins way too fast. Had been on the phone with LG company several times. Finally got them to send a repairman out to fix it. A week later still not fixed, they are saying warranty ran out. Got back on phone with LG, got a lady I dont understand no English, promised me a callback, ya right that will happen. I do the calling not them, so I have contacted US CONSUMER PRODUCTS SAFETY COMMISSION, AND GENERAL ATTORNEY. Im sick of all the promises. I want something done, I think this product should be recalled, and LG should be responsible enough to claim their problem. I will not throw away $2,859.78.
Nacretia was very helpful. She reached out to me via phone and provided me with the resolution that was being offered from LG. (Which did not completely fulfill what I wanted given the money we invested in this product and the trouble, time involved with getting it resolved.) The offer was fair enough for me to accept to be done with this ordeal. I do appreciate LG getting back in touch with me, offering the resolution, and following through with everything in the offer quickly. In the future, if LG finds a resolution to the linear compressor issues we might consider trying LG products again, but until then I cant recommend the refrigerators based off my experience.
We purchased an LG front-load washer online. It was delivered on 12/3/13. It quit working after 2 loads, showing a dE error message (supposedly a door/latch problem of some sort). The appliance serviceman sent to our house by LG made 4 unsuccessful attempts to fix it, over a span of about 4 weeks. He tried replacing both the latch (twice) and the door (twice). After this, LG wanted the service company to order still more parts for more repair attempts, but the service company finally called and told us to call LG and tell them you want a new machine. We did, last week. After several days I called LG again. Nothing had happened, since they required an official receipt (proof of purchase), which wasnt mentioned in the previous call. The LG rep then said to allow 4-5 days for a resolution. Today I called back and was told it takes 7 days for the claim investigation to be completed. So its been 5 1/2 weeks since weve had a working washer, and only God knows when well have one again. Instead, were treated to multiple trips to distant laundromats and picturesque, sky-high piles of unwashed clothes. And many fun hours on the phone, sending emails, and awaiting the repairman, who by now seems like a member of the family.
We purchase a LG refrigerator Model LFX28968SM on November 29, 2016 from Home Depot and it had a 1 year warranty. On September 2018 the refrigerator section was not cooling below 60 deg F. I called the two LG Authorized Service Centers and they would not respond. I called another repair center and they ordered the part that arrived after 2 weeks from China and it did not fit. They tried to order a replacement and after six weeks they were unsuccessful. We discarded the LG refrigerator and ordered a brand that was made in the US. It was a terrible experience that cost us $2,000.
My husband and I bought our LG refrigerator about 14 months ago. We were not offered an extended warranty and did not think to purchase one in the midst of the chaos of purchasing our first new home. Setting that aside, I recently contacted LG with a problem and they refused to help us saying I needed to pay a service company to come out for something I feel they should take responsibility for. The issue being that a screw had come loose behind the ice maker and completely unaware, had dropped into our ice causing it to go into my husbands smoothie. While in the NutriBullet I heard a noise, assuming it was the ice, like it always does, then when it continued I went to stop the machine, it was too late, because just then the screw burst out the side causing a terrible mess everywhere. Now I need to replace the cup and chopped up blade to our NutriBullet. LG wants to take no responsibility whatsoever. I personally feel they should at least send me a replacement screw and possibly help pay for the replacements. My opinion is this was a defect and should be covered, being it was barely out of the warranty period. I am just glad that no one swallowed that screw causing physical damage. My advice... Be sure to get an extended warranty, if its not offered, ask for one! Products just arent built like they used to be! (It was quite baffling trying to figure out where a white screw came from... Until I traced it back to the ice machine, and there it was, an empty hole behind the ice container.) Now to find a replacement screw for it, I cant afford to pay for a service call for a little screw. Amazing how something so tiny can make such a big mess! :/
I bought this LG dishwasher 2 years ago. The dishwasher never worked well. Dishes were not clean, racks collapsed, the cycles it offered were useless. The Smart Diagnosis does not function. The app is not yet set up. Within the first year the dishwasher completely broke down and I had to replace the motor. I asked for a new dishwasher but the company refused. I figured it was a lemon. Now a little past the second year the dishwasher is not draining. I took the dishwasher out of the space to make sure that the pipe was not kinked. I found a tissue stuffed in a spot where a screw should have been. The repair man probably put it there to prevent something from jiggling. How do I know he repaired it properly? I spoke with customer service in the Philippines. The girl was cordial but explained that to fix the dishwasher it was going to cost me $400. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They transferred me to a girl in Alabama who was less than helpful. She was rude. She just talked and talked about how I should have bought an extended warranty and did not let me get a word in. Finally she ended up hanging up on me. It seems like highway robbery that I pay 899 for a dishwasher that breaks in the first year, then little into the second year they want me to pay another 400. I cannot afford to pay 440 dollars a year to have a dishwasher. I had a Maytag before this that lasted 20 years and I paid about $350 for it.
We purchased a fridge from future shop in Dec. Deli drawer did not close properly. Technician sent to our house small adjustment made - within 2 days problem was back. Technician returned, could not fix but broke full panel of glass in the fridge. So now drawer does not close properly and there is no shelf. Apparently parts were ordered. Called LG to discuss replacing unit, got escalated to an idiot name Garret who was useless and would not give his managers name. Apparently his name is Kuzi. He does not have a last name or a phone number - its all confidential - not really sure what LG is paying him for if he is the escalation they have for customers. Worst I have ever dealt with. Please do not buy their product.
Great picture, good sound. Easy to use remote. Great additional features and applications that make it very interesting to scroll down and use! Easy to use as and smart thing product together with my phone!
Machine does not fully drain, allowing a smell to build up and be washed back into your clothes. Difficult to clean debris from drain holes in rubber seal. In the event that you need to drain the machine, there is no drain function. It needs to be manually drained from a tiny hose at the bottom of machine. And for us, that meant into a hose, through the garage and down the driveway. Look for a drain feature on my next purchase!
Have had an LG French Door refrigerator for close to 5 years and it is already breaking down. Have taken great care of it, replacing all filters when needed, keeping it cleaned, just went in back of it and cleaned out any particles or dog hair and yet it just wont stay cold. In addition, it mysteriously stops making ice many times. Despite everything seemingly working. All of these issues have started 1 month after a maintenance guy from LG came by to service it. Making it seem all the more of a bad buy. Look at a different brand!
LG French Door Refrigerator was moved to new address and wouldn’t come on at all. I figured it was the cord, got pulled or something of that matter. I called to inquire on warranty and set appointment for repair. The place it was purchased gave me the number of the repairmen and the repairman showed and said he was not certified to work on LG, call Sears. So, I called Sears and they offered a warranty that would cover all repairs and services for $274, actually $300.00 after tax. They set a 2nd appointment, they show and tell me that $900+ in repairs and I only have $500.00 worth of coverage. I questioned the repairman that warranty was to cover all repairs/pans underneath and the ice maker, which is funny because it is not hooked up to water for ice. I guess he has some spirit that will tell him and guess what, it needs a new cord. I had Sears email the so called extended warranty. It only covers $500.00 toward repairs, or $500 credit at Sears, or I can have my $300.00 back. Wow, this is service that says to the consumer, I will sell a warranty that sounds great but the actual warranty covers LG for selling a $2,000.00+ fridge that is only worth $500.00 maybe and that is only when it is under 2 years old.
Purchased thru JC Penney Sept 2017 and bought extended warranty. Freezer began accumulating snowy frost and gaskets molding around French doors. Contacted LG and service thru A&E quickly arranged. Took 3 visits due to wrong parts shipped but I was pleased and wrote positive review. Then after a couple of days, same snow reappeared and freezer drawer stuck. A&E came again after hours (did not go thru LG--I had his cell and called) and heated drawer to unstick. By 11 pm same day, drawer stuck again. Called LG, scheduled another call. This time man said middle hinge piece between doors needed replacing so ordered, waited, another call to install. Same problem recurred. Called LG in tears, asked about replacement or lemon policy and was told LG needed details from repairman so I waited over a week, heard nothing, called LG again and there was nothing to indicate that LG was supposed to do anything so I had wasted another week and 1/2. I was EXTREMELY upset and LG agreed to send a repairman from another company so a man from Keiser came and said the entire freezer drawer (not the inside but the whole thing) was out of alignment or something and he adjusted. It has been a couple of weeks and so far so good. We have LG washer and dryer set and were very happy with the quality which is why we purchased the refridge but dealing with LG, trying to understand the heavy accented folks on the phone, not following thru, making me feel desperate AND the mere fact that the fridge had such issues after less than 2 years has completely shaken the confidence I once felt.
Purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator with door-in-door option (M/N LSXS26366D, S/N 709MRFP09283). The first problem is that the software function occasionally (about every nine months or so) turns off the compressor with no alarming what-so-ever. You have to watch for water on the floor and freezer items starting to thaw. You have to remove power for 15 seconds and then turn it back on to get the system operating again. Nothing in the manual about it. I had to find that out looking at on-line complaints. The final problem is the compressor died 2 years and 10 months into operation (purchased Oct 2017, now Aug 2020). No alarm for that either. Looked the same as the controller failure, but this time resetting several times didnt work. Tragically, you cannot get the door-in-door option anywhere else. Maybe with some luck I can find a repair person that can remove the LG installed Linear Compressor with something more reliable. If the controller is what died (rest of the unit works, just no cold air), then I purchased a very expensive dump decoration.
We purchased a matching LG Tromm washer and dryer (front loading), approximately three years ago. For at least the past two years we have had a terrible time with clothes smelling sour and mildewy after being washed. Subsequent researched turned up countless complaints about this same problem. Weve tried many fixes some of which seemed to help a little, but the problem would always returned. The dryer unit started making a terrible thumping sound after about two years of use. I still do not know exactly why this is occurring. Some of what I read suggested it was the silicone wheels that get warped from the heat. Other posts indicate it is a problem with a crack in the barrel. My biggest issue at this point with the dryer is that it has never dried the clothes very well. I routinely have to run two or more cycles to get the clothes dry, especially things like jeans and towels. In addition, this morning I noticed that the dryer actually stops before the end of the cycle. I had it set for 1:43 Anti-bacterial setting (ironically to help with the smell from the washer), but the dryer cut off after only 30 minutes.Considering how much we paid for these items, it is very upsetting and frustrating. I have not contacted LG, in part because so many have done so to no avail and I dont have time to waste on such useless attempts.
If you want to throw your money down the drain just buy this washer. It has been horrible from the day we bought it. The guarantee means nothing, they want the owner to repair it themselves. I have had at least 10 washing machines in my life and this is hands down the worst.
One week out of warranty period, the fan in the freezer iced up, leading to a call to one of the very few repairmen in the area. Cost: $300. Ms. **, said she’d talk to her supervisor about a one-week warranty extension and never called back after three follow-up calls. Other repairmen told me that the parts and schematics for the fridge are not available to any servicemen, not a LG tech. There are very few techs in my area and many other areas as well. Poor service, poor reliability, and dreary repair network available. It’s a problem appliance.
We bought the LG appliance bundle of an oven/range, refrig, microwave and dishwasher and we also bought the front loading washer and dryer. This was one GIANT mistake and I regret buying from LG. Our ice maker was manufactured incorrectly and as a result we had 5 diff repairmen sent out with no solution. Our refrigerator should have been replaced but LG delayed the services and repairs putting us outside of the warranty date. Now our oven went out in less than 5 years and it has to be replaced. I went back through my LG file and remembered all of the problems with trying to get my rebates and that I had to spend more time trying to get it than it was worth. I have since learned that others have issues with their LG refrig and now I am learning about oven issues. Overall, I have learned to never buy LG. I was a believer but have since changed and advise others to avoid LG.
Purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator less than 2 years ago. Started to notice freezer was not keeping things frozen. Call LG, do the diagnostic where you hold the phone up to the appliance (crazy and doubt it works). They agree to send a tech. Wait a week to get on the schedule. Tech from Mr. Appliance comes out and says compressor, coil and evaporator are bad. We need to turn it off and wait for parts. Parts take another 2 weeks. Tech was here today and replaced all three parts. It took him 3 hours. When he went to start it up, no go. Turns out the heater in the evaporator is bad and blew out the main board. So now both need to be replace. Spent an hour on the phone with LG. First level is outsourced overseas and customer service reps do not speak good English. They follow a script. Begged to talk to a supervisor. Waited 30 minutes for supervisor to take the call. Spoke to Neil and Willie and they did nothing. Told us they couldnt escalate higher. As long as they deem the appliance repairable we have to wait for the new parts to be delivered and then schedule another tech visit by Mr. Appliance. Absolutely NO customer service. They could care less that we have been without a refrigerator for over 3 weeks, 2 days from Thanksgiving. Its very disappointing to hear them say Life is Good and we dont want you to be inconvenienced while on hold. And then when you speak to someone, you get zero assistance or customer service. We will NEVER buy another LG product. We bought a lemon which I get sometimes happens. But the reason we wont buy from LG again is their complete lack of customer service. Totally disappointed in how we were treated.
On March 28, 2015 our LG front load machine was run on the tub clean cycle. It overfilled with water and the door seal failed. Water poured out of the machine and it just kept on filling. Water damaged several rooms in our home. We handled the emergency by shutting off the water supply. Hooking up shop vacs to the drain hose to empty the water in the machine. Shop vacs were filled many times over to clean up the floors and empty the machine. Commercial Dehumidifiers, floor dryers and fans were brought in to try and save the wood and tile floors, cabinetry and personal things. Water bubbled out of the wood floors in our new home.We contacted our retailer, Grand Appliance in Madison Wisconsin and they said they will file a claim with LG, but that LG doesnt typically cover both replacing the defective machine and repairing the damages caused. I will report back when we have something in writing from LG, but we are not happy that they havent responded yet and even more unhappy that the retailer cannot assure us the manufacturer will make this right.
Our LG fridge was purchased on March 4, 2019. Delivered on March 7th. Fridge was not operating correctly or safely. We were advised by an LG tech to unplug the unit immediately and what unfolded from there has been the worst consumer experience of our 45 year marriage. After numerous missed appointments, incorrect diagnoses, improper parts and the inconvenience of living without a refrigerator the issue was finally resolved on June 18. Needless to say LG products will never be purchased by our family and friends again.
Purchased model LMXC2346 on 1/2017 with extended warranty. On 8/2019 refrigerator failed due to compressor defect. Refrigerator would not stay cool resulting in food spoilage and only $130 reimbursed from LG. On Sat. 6/27/20 (during a global pandemic) woke up to water all over brand new wooden floor, hot refrigerator/freezer, this time resulting in food, insulin medication spoilage from the same compressor defect. Service technicians are inundated with similar LG compressor issues; 1st technician said would take 15 days to order/replace compressor and deal with LG warranty dept, 2nd LG technician refused ticket stating 15 customers were before me resulting in 30 day wait for replacement part. Been on the hold for avg 12 hrs with at least 10 reps resulting from vicious cycle of transfers and hang-ups. Latest was on 7/6/20 Steven (Executive Supervisor) from Executive Service Team confirmation conversation # ** who stated LG policy for alternative resolution wait time were at 4-6 weeks for someone to call me back to discuss pro-rated buyback option. Since LG was unable to find a technician within their allotted time frame of 5 days by 7/4 I now have to wait until 8/3 for someone from their Alternate Resolutions Department to discuss next steps. If this wasnt a slap in the face I am being asked to keep the defective refrigerator in my house even though I have requested the rep to get a LG technician to come and pick it up since I cannot wait to purchase a new refrigerator for my family and still store a non-working one in my house. I was told LG requires that we keep the refrigerator regardless of the amount of time it takes for them to resolve the issue and that he cannot send anyone to pick up although we are responsible for ensuring it is in our possession in case LG wants it back! In addition, I find it unfathomable that my family will have to incur the additional cost and hardship of having to purchase a new refrigerator because LG has taken ZERO accountability for their defective product and their incompetent practices and policies of having a customer wait up to 6 weeks to even discuss a pro-rated buy back since we clearly will never buy or recommend an LG product again. They are unreasonable and unwilling to work with you the Client although they are well aware that there is a Class Action lawsuit against them for this very same issue! Buyer beware... please learn from our mistake!
I have had my LG since 2008 since then the freezer drawer broke, the ice-maker broke and this morning I woke up to a refrigerator and freezer full of full that is no longer usable. Realized the refrigerator light was on all night, the door was shut, it melted the light cover and ruined the food. I will not ever buy another LG. I only wish I had read the reviews before purchasing.....
After reading review after review on this site detailing the same issues I have had with my $3000 LG French door refrigerator, I will not waste time with detailing the issues I have had with this trash LG product. Same no-customer-service response from LG; the service company they gave us hasn’t worked for them for 2 years! We finally had to go directly to Home Depot to get a service repair person to come and look at our refrigerator. It has been two weeks without my refrigerator and hopefully it will get fixed today. But according to the other reviews that I read that may not be the last of my problems with this refrigerator. I am not hopeful. This is the second LG refrigerator that has had this problem; Home Depot, who has pretty decent Customer Service, replaced this same exact refrigerator one year ago. That refrigerator was only a year old when this exact same problems of the compressor going out occurred. The repairmen who are here today said they have been extremely busy lately repairing LG refrigerators with this problem! I am SO frustrated! I feel like someone has stolen thousands of dollars from me! DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!!
My husband and I purchased an LG Refrigerator, model number LFC23760ST. It was delivered on 6/17/2009. About 1 month later, we experienced getting shocked while reaching for food items while holding on to the door. We called LG, and they told us to call an authorized repair agency and gave us 2 names. We called both of those companies and neither would come to look at our appliance. They said that LG doesnt pay them. We called LG. They told my husband that it must be a problem with the house and not the refrigerator. My husband talked to them on many more occasions, and they said that they would send someone, but no one ever came. Now, the refrigerator completely went out. On October 12th 2011, we called LG. They gave us the same name (1 now) of an authorized repair agency. We called them and they do not come to our area. So, apparently, we never have had any warranty on this product. We did get Sears appliance repair to come out. It turns out to be a blown fuse that is soldered to a control panel. So, $369.00 later and another week without a refrigerator (to order the part), did the short causing us to be shocked cause the fuse to go out? When the repair gets made, will we still get shocked? Why is LG not more concerned about my well-being and that of husbands, and should there be death or serious injury before they will show care at all? Or maybe, the only time they will care is if they are sued and it hurts their pocket book? It has hurt mine both in repairs and loss of groceries. I dont know if anything can be done about this situation but I will never purchase another LG product, and I will tell as many people who will listen not to do so as well. Always remember, if you have a warranty repair on an LG product, no one will come!
LG 7600 top loader does not have the capacity to really get clothes clean. As it drains it leaves a scum which gets left on clothes. In my 45 years I have never had such a poor performing machine. My husbands jeans were dirty and mucky from working out doors. I ran it on the best setting I could find. I took them out and put them in the dryer. There was so much sand and dirt in the filter and the bottom of the dryer. I knew the washer had not even came close to getting them clean. Because it has no agitator, the clothes are only bathed in water so really dirty ones dont come clean. Oh how I wish I had my money back on this machine.
We are doing a kitchen remodel, I purchased an LG refrigerator (dented), oven, and microwave. The microwave also had a dent so J.C. Penney discounted it. We installed it and the door scrapes horribly when it opens and closes. We called J.C. Penney whose automated service directed us to LG tech support, after about 1.5 hrs phone time they set a service call. The service tech arrived and determined the unit was irreparable, structural damage. I called LG for follow up, the operator couldnt figure out the notes, I had him read them back to me and stopped him where it stated, not repairable. I had to send pictures and a copy of the receipt that were already sent by the repair tech. After multiple hours on the phone I finally got a CNN number For a defective return. They said they will call me to arrange delivery.A week goes by and nothing. I called back and spoke with Alexander, he re-reviewed, Sorry, nothing we can do. I escalated to his supervisor, Willie who made it clear that I was bothering him and stated, I will not cover anything on this unit, go back to J.C. Penney. Now the unit is not heating correctly, waiting for the repair tech again. What a BAD!, experience. I will NEVER! buy another LG product.
We bought LG refrigerator in 2016, and it failed in about two years. Took a long time for the LG technician to come in, who replaced the compressor and told us that he was working day in and day out fixing the same problem for other customers. He also told us that even with the replaced compressor, it could fail again in 6 months. At the time, we didnt pay too much attention to that, but it turned out what he said was true. Just 6 months after the repair, the refrigerator failed again. Looking up online the experiences from others, now Im convinced that LG knew the problem all along, and what they have been doing is basically deferring the problem, at the expenses of its customers. Now it looks like they dont even have in-house resource to fix our problem, instead they sent a 3rd-party contractor to fix our fridge, from whom we are getting even worse experience. While he boasted about how the first repair wasnt done well, and promised us he fixed the problem, his two attempts didnt fix it, and we are scheduled for his 3rd visit.LG service claims they are not going to provide us replacement or refund. What they can do is to give us repairs, which is likely from the same repair person and with long lead time every time. Its been almost a month since the fridge broken down, and the entire household has been living on the small 2-door fridge we bought when the fridge first broken down. I dont know how long this is going to last, but I know it wont be long before I have to resort to legal actions.
Almost one year ago I bought an LG wave force washer and matching LG clothes dryer from Lowes. I have had no problems with the dryer, but the washing machine has been a great disappointment. I have operated the machine according to the information given in the owners manual, and yet I have two serious complaints. One, the machine stinks like rotten eggs. Two, the machine leaves a dirty residue (which looks like crushed rotten leaves) on my laundered clothes. It has ruined some of my clothes so I am having to wash by hand.
We purchased the LG washing machine and dryer from Spencers. I am dissatisfied with our salesman in that he should have made us aware that this washer is a large capacity machine with no capability to wash smaller loads. They want you to buy another machine to sit underneath the main washer. The dryer is a mess. I spent $1,000 for a dryer that doesnt sense the dryness of sheets!!! It shuts off early leaving the corners of the sheets wet. I called the technician who said thats the way it is and I should use the manual dry time and estimate how long it needs to dry completely... Really... Really... thats the way dryers operated in 1958! Dont waste your money on this piece of junk.
Initially, I had a pretty old top loader washing machine 16 years old (NOT LG) and it worked perfectly - actually loved it and all of my clothes came out clean and perfect! My husband thought hed surprise me with a VERY EXPENSIVE, brand new $2,500 LG front loader washing machine and dryer from Best Buy. I didnt even want it because our older set was fantastic! In any case, heres where all of the problems started. I should sue LG just for all the fights and yelling I did to my husband (ha ha) for this piece of CRA-!!! Now all of the problems. Immediately, everything smelled like mold, especially the towels (even though, we did the bleach wash as suggested and left the doors opened), SO MANY RUINED CLOTHES (almost every day our clothes got holes and rips) - I threw away about 5 pieces of clothing a week & it actually became a joke of everyday showing and telling my husband about another item I have to throw out because of the stupid washing machine. Also, even though, I dont use bleach when I wash, the lame bleach cleaning cycles later ended up leaving horrible bleach marks on our clothes. We owned the LG washing machine and dryer for about 1 year and I left it when we moved to our new home, my headaches are now over. Now I have a very old top loader washing machine (NOT LG) and my clothes get clean, no more holes, stains or moldy smells - I love it! Also, no more yelling at my husband :o))) Side note: We also had a LG flat screen TV that we purchased from Costco - it completely died after a few years. What have I learned: NEVER BUY LG PRODUCTS - PIECES OF JUNK!
Linear Compressors - My LG LSXS26326 came with my home when I purchased it. The fridge is less than 5 years old. In the year Ive had it Ive noticed intermittent cooling/ice production issues. If the temp got above 77 degrees in my house, the fridge would struggle to make ice or keep food cool. Then, on Memorial Day weekend, with family visiting, it finally died. I have a homeowners warranty (fantastic investment) that covers all my appliances. Never had an issue on the couple of things Ive had to call them on. This fridge is an exception. After a TWO WEEK long rigamarole between them and LG to determine a) If the fridge was under warranty. (It wasnt. Im not the original purchaser, as I tried in vain to explain to all parties.) b) Who was going to pay for what (warranty company, all of it). The part is perpetually back ordered. There are so many of these compressors that are failing, they cannot make them fast enough to replace the failed units. Even the replacements are failing within a couple days/weeks/months/years depending on your luck. Today is June 22, and I am, just today, getting my fridge fixed. This process has been an absolute nightmare. And I have a future failure to look forward to. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope this one holds out until I get taxes back next year and can replace it with a functional fridge. I will NEVER, EVER, buy anything LG again in my life. And be CAREFUL. These same compressors are used in Kenmore Elite fridges as well!
The rollers on the bottom tray do not stay on track and as result it has to be lifted to move it in and out. This dishwasher was purchased after reading the reviews and installed in a new home.
Dishwasher leaks about halfway through the cycle, water comes out the lower left area of the door. Less than a week old. Neighbors who have the identical machine have same issue. Systemic problem Im thinking.
The vibrations started almost at day one. So I leveled it again with a 4 level and still the walls vibrated (its a load bearing wall 2x12 floor joists 1-1/4 thick flooring). We did not know of the problem until my son came and mentioned that it shouldnt vibrate like this (he has an older model LG), so the calls to LG started and trying to get an in warranty repairman is like pulling your own teeth. So after losing 2 days pay and a third on the way, still there is no fix or reason why its vibrating. LG has said that after 3 attempts, they would either replace/or refund our cost. Well, its still ongoing. I will keep you informed.
We purchased this LG TOP OF THE LINE 700.00 DISHWASHER IN 2015. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE. When we purchased it. It was for a brand new home. We had to have a plumber come in and replace some of the pipes and lines to be able to accommodate this dishwasher. The dishwasher never gets the dishes clean EVER! Im constantly having to clean the dishwasher so the dishes get clean. I almost have to clean the dishes before they are stacked. The top sprayer arm keeps falling off during its normal cycle. The baskets never stay connected to each other. Not sure why... We decided to buy a really expensive nice dishwasher and it has been terrible. Then we had to remove the bottom piece in the dishwasher that siphons any debris out before it goes into the drain. The recommended tablets for the dishwasher get stuck in the cup and ends up having to be cleaned out of the cup and I have to re run the whole cycle again. And to top it off now the motor is dead and has to be replaced. Oh the wheels on the bottom of the rack keep falling off. Technician will be here next week when they can fit us in 100.00 just for the service call. I will never buy an LG ever again.
Model LSXS26466D/02. Love the refrigerator if it would make ice. Purchased Feb 9, 2018 and ice maker failed Jun 5, 2018. Still not making ice and LG customer service just keeps stalling. I have provided a local service company who repairs LG refrigerators, however LG wants to send a service firm that will not answer phone calls. I have contacted the BBB, PA Atty. Gen office, even Home Depot where I purchased. The customer service support from LG is one of the worst in the business.
I purchased a fridge from Best Buy in 2013. It was an open item but was only a display item never leaving the store. We had the understanding that LG would honor open ticket items as though they were brand new. If we had known that LG (according to them) do not honor open item warranties I would not have bought the open item to save $100. I would have gone with a unopened product. But that isnt the full issue. So we bought a fridge it 2013 had some minor issues with the fridge but were able to fix the problems with a little help from videos as they were not major issues nothing repairing just thawing or cleaning something up. Well about 3-4 weeks ago we noticed our food was no longer staying cold and everything in our freezer was thawed and had to be thrown out and fridge was also not keeping things cold and lost most of our fridge stuff as well. We contacted LG to see if they could have someone come out and fix the issue as it was still under warranty. Well they called back to say they could get someone out to us in two weeks. We have young children in the home so going without a fridge for 2 weeks was not acceptable. We spoke to best buy and they recommended a repair place that is LG certified to come out and look at it. We contacted them and they asked the model and serial number once he got that information he knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He has been fixing about 2-5 of these a week for the past year as it was a known defect during assembly of the product. When he first started seeing these issues appear he spoke to a tech at LG and the tech from LG let it slip mistakenly that during assembly of a part the worker bypassed procedures and did not install or use a spark shield. Without that part during assembly the part would fail within 4-5 years. And it looks based on the fact that he has fixed 2-5 a week that it is actually happening a lot. We had the repairman order the parts to get it fixed and we then find out that we would be charged a flat rate of $399 + tax or $425 to repair this. Parts would be all covered but labor wasnt so labor would be $425. I really find it hard to believe that I should be responsible for the labor on a product that was sold to me with a defective product. But we needed a fridge so we got the parts and had the repairman to come. Now the repairman spent 3 hrs only to find out the part that was sent was defective as well and did not work. So now my family has been without a fridge for 3-4 weeks. We called to complain to LG that first off we dont think we should be responsible for the labor costs if it was due to a defective product they knowingly put into the fridge. After some lengthy conversations with LG they have now since claimed that they will not pay anything due to this product being an open item product. They are still not standing up and admitting they put a defective part into a product and sold it. We know there is a list of serial numbers with this issue. If I had bought a car with a defective part a recall would be issued to repair this. But LG is trying to keep this on the down low and not pay up. It doesnt stop there. They have told our repairman that we said he was unprofessional and that he did not do a good job so now they are making false claims against our repairman that we never said. Plus during my first conversation with them they mentioned that you would be completely covered and you will have no cost out of your pocket for the repair only to go back on that statement and only offer my repair man a voucher for $115 of the $425 service. While I waited on the phone for the confirmation that this was all worked out I repeatedly asked will I be completely covered and nothing will come out of my pocket to which I was told over and over again that it will be covered. Only to find out the lied again to me and that they were only offering the lower rate. Now after we complained more now they are completely dropping all help and deeming this was due to the open item purchase and they dont cover the warranty on open items. I spoke to Best Buy and they restated that is not the case. Open items they sell are covered under warranty without question. Please what can you do to help. This has been very frustrating that I am without a fridge and now I am having to pay another $400 after buying a fridge less than 5 years ago for 1800. This is not the service I expected from a billion dollar company.
I purchased an LG front load washer WM2277HS 6-8 years ago. Yes it has been a good machine, but now has to be thrown in the trash as the display assembly board which runs the product is no longer available! Part # 6871ER 2708A WHAT? I have tried everywhere to get a part or substitute part with no luck. I had a technician come from Sears who ordered the wrong part which fit the unit but the wiring jacket was different.I tried to order that part again today, (6 months later) thinking I could rewire the part myself. SHOCK! That part was no longer available as well. In fact there was a long list of Display Assembly Boards no longer available for LG products! The technician I talked to stated that LG was notorious for this problem! Sorry LG. Your customer service rely that things go wrong with electronic equipment from time to time is a lame excuse! I have no problem with it having an issue. I do have a problem with not being able to get replacement parts! Pitiful! CONSUMER BEWARE!
Tried to find one that was rated good in Consumer Affairs. I have had this pair for about 5 years. I looked at consumer feedback to find one that was rated well. They seem to do ok. I dont like the odor coming from the washer when you have the door closed too long, so I always leave it open when not in use. I look for capacity, energy efficiency, discounts, brand, quality. How fast they will come out and repair if it breaks down. I look for quality and price has to enter in on it. Most expensive is not always what I want. It may not have the features I want. I want and need large size that keeps working.
Ive bought front load machines in red color. It has a sensor type of thing. Anytime I wash something, it uses such a little water, I have to wash the same thing for three times. Also, dryer is the same way, it has a sensor and It stop drying the clothing before they are actually dry. I have to repeat the same cycle for dry three or more times. I set it on 55 minutes dry time, and in 10 minutes the machine stops with a signal of complete dry which is not complete. It bothers me. They werent cheap and it says less vibration and thats not true, my whole house shake from it. I wouldnt recommend to anyone! I will sell my house and make sure I dont have any LG product in my house. Very dissatisfied.
Bought a brand new LG Top Freezer Refrigerator in Nov 2012 at Home Depot. It was working well & ran quiet. It has pretty good style & is functional. However, a little after a year in early 2014 the refrigerator started to act up. It was getting very noisy, and I noticed some ice build up at the back of the freezer interior. I tried to troubleshoot the problem, and tried to adjust the setting to make it less cold, but it didnt work. The fridge was get so loud I had to unplug it once in a while. I was fed up with the noise & the ice buildup, & decided to remove all the foods & defrost the fridge for half a day. Once the ice melted away & I plugged the refrigerator back the noise disappeared. I thought that solved the problem... Was I wrong. The troubleshoot helped to eliminate the annoying loud noise for a week & the noisy starting to creep back. And I noticed the freezer and fridge temperature was not cold enough. I found ice cream in the freezer was soften. Weeks went by, I just continue to struggle with the fridge. I finally bought two thermometer to monitor the freezer & refrigerator temp. The freezer was in the 30s and the fridge was in the 40s to 50. I realized miracle would not happened by waiting & contacted LG.I contacted the local authorized repair service, and I spent $170 for the 2 hr diagnosis service. The tech told me the sealed system was leaking - that was why the freezer had ice buildup, & the fan built out due to the ice buildup. The back of the freezer was frozen solid with ice when the tech opened the panel. I contact LG about the results of the diagnosis and I insisted LG should cover the cost of the repair for the leak & the burned out fan. I had to went back and forth with LG and the repair service for more than a week to get them to agree that the repair should be covered by the warranty. And LG agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor. The repair service quote me $450 plus but could be more. At that time I was furious. I paid $800 something plus tax on this fridge, and they expected me to spend $600 to $700 to repair it. No way Jose!! It was painful to let go a good looking fridge that still look brand new, but I decided to cut the loss & went to Sears to get a Kenmore for less than $600 before tax. Interestingly at Sears, I saw a Kenmore model with the exact interior design of the LG fridge I bought... scary!! Customers, please watch out that you dont buy a Kenmore fridge that make by LG. I will have my Kenmore fridge deliver today. This time I bought a extended 5-year warranty just to be on the safe side.
LG has dramatically lower reliability ratings in Consumer Reports than any other major brand. I owned an LG refrigerator that after eleven months and 25 days (five days before the warranty ran out) developed water leaks in two different areas and failed to chill in the cooler section. The company would not stand by the warranty. Executive customer service is a weasel nest, arrogant and totally non-responsive. Run from any retailer that handles LG.
I purchased the worst appliance of my life - an LG refrigerator. It is absolute junk, and I regret ever trusting this company with such a large expenditure for their flagship refrigerator. The fridge never - from day one - held a proper temperature, and the compressor failed within the first year. I tried contacting LG to get warranty service on what was offered as a 10 year compressor warranty, and LG customer service denied their obligations through what happens to be the worst customer experience I have ever had in my life. I am so incredibly angry with them. Just writing this review infuriates me. LG refuses to honor to do the repair, but tries to scam me even further by trying to sell me yet one more level of warranty through my Consumer Protection office, just to honor the warranty that I already have through the original purchase. And then they come back at me and say that they will honor just providing the part on the compressor, if I buy one more extended warranty and sign a waiver to release them from the remaining 8 years left on my already existing 10 year compressor warranty. My fridge has been sitting dead - DEAD - in my kitchen for the last 18 months. I filed a complaint with my Consumer Protection Branch, and they have been fighting with LG for nearly 18 months now, where LG refuses to acknowledge needing to honor any repairs, or to acknowledge my situation. My fridge, completely dead and with the protective plastic wrap (from factory) still on the doors, is landfill junk. So much for that $3,400 retail price for a bunch of landfill crap. I hate this company. I hate this company with a passion. I hate them so much, that as my fridge sits dead for the past 18 months, I get so angry that I cant keep food in my house after spending so much money on the initial purchase. The only time I can even try to keep food is over the winter months when my garage is cold from the winter outdoors. I cant believe that I spent an entire winter (this past winter, and the last) going out to the shelf in my unheated garage, and being forced to eat the food there for me and my family, and questioning whether the food that was ate each and every day would make me sick, or whether it would kill me (from food poisoning). I hate this company so much that I will never - EVER - purchase another LG product in my life. I pray this company goes into bankruptcy. Im in the process of proceeding on a lawsuit with this company, and Im going to go after them for every last penny. My lawsuit is fueled by my hatred for LG, so if you want to feel like I do (the rage) you should go out and buy their garbage and experience this overwhelming anger. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They are scammers, building absolute junk, with horrible products made not to even last a year. My sister just bought an LG phone, and its the worst piece of garbage she said she has ever bought. Shes taking the non functioning phone back to her phone company, because it doesnt work, and has never worked properly. If you want to get an idea about what other LG customers think about LG products, look no further than the 1 star (out of a possible 5 stars) that LG refrigerators are rated at, at ConsumerAffairs. This company fails at everything they do. Did I say I hate this company, passionately? I have never - EVER - in my life hated anything more than LG!!! Do not buy LG products unless you have a passion for being angry, and enjoy feeling hate. I hate you, LG. You are the worst experience of my life, and I wish you and your scam into bankruptcy. Your products dont deserve to be in the world. LGs bankruptcy would make my life so much better. (I hate LG that much!!!) Stay away.
I thought LG was a good brand name so when we were looking for refrigerators, I was drawn to the style of the French door fridge and we chose it. I wish Id looked at this site first! Exactly three years to the day after purchasing it, it shut down. My freezer was packed and everything had to be thrown out! The fridge stayed cool long enough to salvage some of the contents. Ok, so sometimes products fail, right? Their customer service is THE WORST. They could not be less helpful if they set out to do it! I called the first time and was told by a sugary sweet computer voice that they were too busy and she hung up on me!The next day when I called back I was told by the same computer that my wait would be 7 minutes. The next time my wait time was announced it was 8 minutes. Wait, what? When I finally got to speak to someone, he treated me like an idiot suggesting I didnt have it set on the right temps or didnt close the freezer door correctly. He was infuriating because he knew nothing and was operating from a script that meant he wasnt even thinking. It would have been nice if somewhere they said gee, thats awful. Were sorry. We hope to make it up to you. A friend who works in the electronics field said LG is notorious for not backing up their product. Im going to say this. I wish Id listened to my husband and selected the Samsung fridge!!! Ill never buy another LG appliance again.
Wife wanted new appliances so we went to Hopeless Depot and bought LG. What a mistake. Bought a french door refrigerator. Within 2 months the ice maker went out. LG came out and installed a new ice maker and all seemed fine until the other day it went out again. Now everything is out of warranty and the ice maker went out again. I called LG and they gave me the number to 3 repair companies and they all told me the same thing. 90 days on the ice maker, no warranty. Fridge is a year and 2 months old. I have the old KitchenAid refrigerator in the garage that works like a champ. 25 years old. So to add insult to injury the turntable motor on the microwave is going out. It is the same age. 14 months old. I wont even bother calling them - Ill just let everything fail. Do not buy LG - they suck. Their stuff does not last. Get KitchenAid.
Ice machine was my favorite. And the storage. Has great room for lots of food. Big freezer. Drawers have great space as well. The temperature gets really for both fridge and freezer. Ive always have loved LG products. I have no negatives to say about all LG products.
We have a WM2301HS bought in Sept 2010 and after a few months, we noticed that the are grease-like stains on some of the clothes, but not all the time. It is a pain to get those stains out. Some comments suggested the contents of the laundry are to blame, but judging from the complaints, we are not alone. Did anyone get this solved? All in all, this machine works great (and looks good). The only service call (yes, life was not good) we had at the beginning was to put a missing clamp on the bottom drain of the gasket (how could they miss that in assembly?).
I have almost the exact problem as everyone else here with the nasty mildew/mold smell. The rubber case around the door has black mold around it, which would cause dirty black stain on cotton shirts/bed sheets. If this is obviously a darn bad engineer or defect, why cant we do anything but cry and watch LGs executives getting richer with their Life is good slogan? Does anyone here work in the law department that can help everybody out? All I can do now is to go around and give this link to all websites that carry LG washers so that everybody has a chance to read reviews from the actual users, not paid writers who claim to be experts.
Had this machine for 10 months. Lid gets locked with wash inside, does not always spin out water. I have had clothes come out 1/2 wet, the other 1/2 dry. Today I ruined 3 pairs of pants. I washed a load of white and used the bleach dispenser (Dont do It). It did not dispense all the bleach. The 2nd load seems to be ok. The 3rd load of dark clothes, 3 pairs of pants are bleach stained. I have also had strange spots appear on clothes. They werent there when I put them in, I have had to rewash multiple items because they do not come clean. Also using a stain or spot remover is a must. Want my old machine back. It might have been old but it got my clothes clean.
Compressor failure on a 18 month old $3800 LG refrigerator. We purchased what we thought was a top of the line highly rated refrigerator. After less than 18 months the compressor failed. LG gave me an authorization and local authorized service centers, each one telling me that the compressor (10 year warranty) must come from LG and there is a 4 month backorder and they wouldnt want to do it, because LG doesnt pay them for their time. I found the LG indicated upgrade compressor online and a service tech, $900+ out of pocket for parts and labor. LG offered $650 for parts, labor and food loss and then called me and rudely reneged. This is not an isolated incident, from my investigation, there are thousands of LG customers with the same problems. There is talk of a class action lawsuit.
It was energy efficient and self defrosting. Very reliable. Fantastic refrigerator that was very easy to clean. Items kept at the proper temperature. Quiet. But do wish the dial was easier to reach. It was towards the back of mine. Im short and short arms so hard to reach that far. Other than the dial though it was a terrific refrigerator. Served us very well. I am very happy with LG overall.
We purchased a front loading LG washing machine model WM2301H. It has banged all over the place ever since we bought it. It does not like to spin anything. It was on a concrete floor, leveled and it banged around there too. I bought the machine because my old one was not spinning!! Now I have one that is supposed to be better and work right. And all it has given me is a headache! I would not recommend anyone buying this washing machine! The people at the store where I bought it - 2 people who had the same model had purchased the same machine said there must be something wrong with it.
LG Washing machine model #wm4270hwa. Purchased this unit from Best Buy on 2-19-15. Ran flawlessly for 8 months, then it started to sound like a jet engine. Called LG on 1-5-16 and after transmitting tones to a tech over the phone he informed me that I needed to run the tub clean cycle. Ran the tub clean and no help. Called back and was informed that the unit was out of warranty. Spoke to two separate supervisors to no avail. LG will not help, Best Buy will not help. I called a local appliance repair, $180.00 to walk in. Repairman took a look and told me it was a catastrophic failure. Bearings, tub, stator, tub seals etc. were bad. So here I am, stuck with a thousand dollar washing machine that will cost as much if not more than I paid to repair. Will never buy anything from LG, also, I will tell my story to everyone! Please share.
Ive had this LG model LMV1683SW microwave under 2 years, and Im tearing it out of my kitchen and throwing it out. First, the turntable started making this awful rumble. LG said its crumbs in the track. The track was clean, but I cleaned it anyway. Still rumbled. Then sparks and small flames started shooting out of a vent hole near one of the shelf hooks. I removed the metal shelf thinking that was the issue, but it was not. It happened again, and this time I unplugged the unit, and Im removing it from my wall. LG says their initials stand for Lifes Good. Should be Looking Grievous.
We spent almost $5,000 on the top of the line refrigerator. We lost power and it shut off. When power was restored, the lights went on and not getting cold again. We contacted LG and they scheduled an appointment. NOBODY showed for the appointment or reached out to us to cancel and reschedule the service. We have spoken to several people from LG and they have no clue what they are doing. As recently as last Friday, I spoke to Tony from the executives office in Philippines. He stated someone would contact me from both service and CEO’s office ASAP. It is been 3 days not a single call. Clearly, LG DOES NOT care about their customers. Stay far away.
After considerable review, we (in hindsight, unfortunately) purchased a Suite of LG products last year (2019), the FRENCH DOOR LFXC22526S being the refrigerator leg of it. From the day we literally plugged it in, it has been, and continues to be, a disappointment. For a company with a footprint of LG, were appalled at both their lack of engineering and Customer Support. Our issue became noticeable day 1 when the appliance was not cooling properly. The first indicator was the milk, (which was stored on the refrigerator door rack to accommodate a gallon size, was WARM. My wife proceeded to purchase a thermostat to monitor the temperatures within the cavity of the unit. For the limited cubic space it has, the temperatures varied considerably. We proceeded to contact Customer Service, and for a unit right out of the box, we immediately encountered additional challenges. 1- Our first contact was with a Customer Service Representative in the Philippines who spoke Very broken (if any) English. (Follow up calls were just a bad.) For such global company you would expect them to have better matched resources to offer its customers. 2- To have a Technician visit the situation, they would potentially charge a $50 Service Call. (Again, the unit is not even a week old. That policy took some arm wrestling, but it led to being waived.) 3- Fast forward, a Technician did arrive at the house to physically and wirelessly confirm the settings. NO PROBLEM. At this juncture, my wife was getting a bit perturbed and stated a temperature measuring 40 degrees is not only a problem, its a health hazard. The Technicians solution was to recommend we rearrange the contents where items as mustard, pickles, salad dressings, butter.... should only be on the door racks. Items as milk, even though the door has a rack to accommodate a gallon container, should go on a shelf. (Its noteworthy to mention; weve stored milk on the refrigerator door for the last 40 years with no temperature problems!) When we proceeded to challenge that rationale, his final cure all was the straw that broke the camels back... we just havent adapted to it yet. Those remedies are very shallow for a unit that costs ~$2,000 with supposedly state of the art engineering. We cant fathom how a major entity as LG can be so deficient in some basic engineering features compounded further by their shallow offerings for customer satisfaction. We did not proceed with the Extended Warranty they offered primarily due to its cost. Layered on top of that, the manner they addressed the above circumstance further discouraged us as I have strong reason to believe we would likely get the same run with any service calls. That, and reading other reviews, causes me to proceed ahead with fingers crossed on both hands. For their sake, I hope LG reviews these posted complaints as they are legitimate issues they should take some ownership of. I (and others) will have serious second thoughts about purchasing ANY of their products with an LG name plate.
I have an LG washer stainless steel drum that I paid $900.00 for! The washer is out of the warranty and started banging. I contacted LG with my problem and I got no response! My boyfriend, who works in tool and die, and my dad took it apart. The bearings were rusted into the drum. I am not happy! How could the bearings rust into a stainless steel drum? I tried calling to order parts and the answer that I keep getting from repair places is good luck getting parts from LG! This is ridiculous! I will never recommend or buy anything LG again!
