I bought an LG French door Refer with Bottom freezer (model # LFX25960ST). Interior light stayed on, melting the plastic cover. I woke at 06:00AM on 11/19/2011 to the odor of burning plastic. I am a firefighter for 30 years, so I knew what I was smelling. It would not have been much longer before flames would have appeared. I have working smoke detectors in the house, so it may not have been tragic, with regard to loss of life, though the fire damage could have been very costly. After reading so many common instances, I will do my best to spread awareness, starting with the 3,000 active and retired members of the Fire Department I work for. I will be looking for information on recall, or class action suit. Refrigerator is stocked with Thanksgiving food, purchased yesterday. Now, I can not trust the food, and must repurchase. Luckily, I caught this when I woke up this morning. It would not have been long before this started a fire.

We purchased this refrigerator on June 6, 2018 from Home Depot. In July 2019, the refrigerator stopped cooling. (How convenient, right after the one year warranty expired.) I called LG and they sent an authorized repair company to my house within two weeks. The company, National Platinum Service, replaced the compressor and filter. On December 24, 2019 the refrigerator stopped cooling again which caused us to throw away all of our food for the second time. We spoke with LG and they scheduled a different repair company, Advanced Appliance, to come out on January 6, 2020 to replace the compressor and filter again. On January 10th, the technician came back out to make an adjustment to the refrigerator and check on the status. All was working at that time. The next day, January 11th, the refrigerator stopped cooling again. On January 13th, the technician came out and said that there was likely a freon leak that would need additional parts to be ordered in order to replace the unit. On January 20th, the same technician came out again to replace the evaporator coils and he stated that he was not confident that this would be a long term fix. He said he spoke with LG support and was told they would not replace the refrigerator until they (LG) spent $1000 on repairs. The technician from Advanced Appliance stated that he felt we had a defective refrigerator and he would need his supervisor to come out and review the work that had been done up to this point. We currently have a refrigerator that is not functional and hasnt been for several weeks now. This is absolutely unacceptable. We have had to take off work 7 times for a technician to come out to TRY to repair the refrigerator in addition to not having the ability to have any food or drinks that need to be refrigerated since December 24th! The 5 or 10 year warranty doesnt matter when your refrigerator dont work and continues to break. Why on earth would I want my refrigerator to be replaced with a new and updated compressor after all of this nonsense especially when the first one should work in the first place if you are selling a high quality appliance? All I want at this point is a full refund and Ill be a happy customer.

I had dealt with our old washer for years. It would become unbalanced a lot. Clothes would come out with washing detergent, dirt, food and baby poop still on them. We decided to buy a new set and not have to worry anymore. We paid almost $2000.00 for the pair. Its exactly like the old one except were out $1000.00. The dryer is fine. Love it, but HATE, HATE THE WASHER. Scale of 1-10 it gets a 1.

LG Washer/Dryer unit. Noticed water on floor, thought it was the washer. Repairman identified water coming from dryer. He was not able to fix the problem. Might add, weve passed the one yr. warranty and didnt purchase an extended warranty thinking back over 50 yrs of never having to call a W/D repair person. After some personal research discovered the water drain was not connected to the proper reservoir. Never saw a drop of water in the prescribed reservoir which means it was never properly installed at the factory or whatever reason LG can figure who to blame. Theyve given me some repair phone #s. None service our area. Discovered that they have a very narrow presence for repair people. This is a BUYER BEWARE of LG. No service, poor and rude customer service and a phone number with a broken answering string. In the meantime, LG has a duty and a responsibility to mitigate all damages and the Consumer Affairs Division of the State of California needs to look into a company that sells their products without providing a reasonable method of getting repair service. Their star deserves a huge Zero. I bought both items at Home Depot and they could not give me a repair person for LG. Right now were stuck with having an expensive dryer that doesnt work. Carting a basket of wet laundry to dry outside is a huge inconvenience for an 80 yr. old.

Ive already posted my complaint on this site, but I forgot to mention that I had to pay to have the door hinge replaced because it had corroded due to bleach spilling onto it, the only bleach I use is when I am using the Tub Clean cycle to attempt to remove the stink and slime. I have never spilled the bleach so the dispenser must leak. I believe the cause of the leaking might be due to the LG repairman puncturing the bleach compartment because I was having problems with bleach remaining in the chamber after the wash cycle and then bleaching clothing in the next wash load (dark clothing). Biggest mistake I have ever made in appliance purchase.

Our LG LRBN22514ST refrigerator works fine, but the handles on the refrigerator AND the freezer have broken off! The handles are fine, but LG uses PLASTIC mountings that give out over time - really poor choice! Why not use metal mounts and charge a dollar or two more? Ive replaced the bottom refrigerator mount once, but now the part is no longer available - same as the freezer handle mount! Now the (otherwise) functioning refrigerator is difficult to open! Planned obsolescence? Good job at that!!

Purchased refrigerator 3/6/17; currently on my 3rd compressor. Because of frequent compressor failure, sent certified letter to Huntsville, ALA President of LG Electronics USA 11/8/19 and again 12/27/19. Received Returned Receipt back both times, however, have never heard from anyone at LG. Replacing a failed compressor with the same type of compressor time and time again has proven to be very poor strategy, not to mention the inconvenience to your customer during the replacement phase. Loved LG; have 5 LG products in my home. Extremely disappointed with customer service.

We did our research before purchasing the rave reviewed on Consumer Report LG Tron washing machine. It was only 13 months until the first breakdown. I called in a repairman and also contacted LG regarding any warranty. What I could make out from the heavy dialect was that I was out of luck because I didnt buy the extended warranty package. Long story short, we had a repairman every year for the past six years costing $980. We had the same part replaced four times. Many, many, many calls into LG and the final offer was $157. The machine does not work and has been scraped. It has taken almost seven months for their settlement. I will never purchase or ever recommend an LG product ever again. Never is a long time!

I have a front-load washer that has made me and my family very sick. Before I bought the front-load washer, I called LG customer service to get details on how to not have smell/mold problems in my machine. I was very diligent in cleaning it. I cleaned around the rubber area in the door, I drained the old water, cleaned the filter, cleaned inside the soap area and the took the soap dispenser out and cleaned that too, as well as running the tub clean cycle - using afresh, running it with bleach, running it with vinegar, leaving the door open, using HE soap, etc. I called LG to see what they could do because the smell was in my clean clothes. An LG tech came out to look at the machine regarding the smell and found that I did everything humanly possible to keep it clean. He called LG and they told him to take the tub to a car wash and spray it down (ridiculous). The tech went further, because he knew this would do nothing, and got approval to replace some parts (the back part of the tub had been discontinued???). In cleaning the machine, I watched as black mold and bacteria came out of the hoses and it was on the back of the tub. I took this information to the corporate level and I was told immediately that it was maintenance. I was shocked as to how Tish could tell me that it was my fault immediately without talking to the tech. It was only after I told her that the tech said that it was going to come back again, that she called him. After being left on hold for 15 mins., she got back on the phone and said that she spoke to the tech, his manager, and her manager, and that they were going to review my case.Well 1 week later I called back; Tish told me that they werent going to do anything. She said after talking to their legal department they decided that it was a maintenance issue. They said I misused the washing machine...HUH?? I have had allergic conjunctivitis so bad that my eye doctor and my specialist have told me to go 2 hrs. away to UVA because after 2-3 years of misery and steroid eye drops, dermatologist testing, allergy testing and numerous visits to doctors, they dont know what is wrong with me. Funny how now that the tub in my washer has been replaced and many parts steam cleaned, I dont have the zombie look anymore. It is still in the clothes and the sheets that we sleep in, but it has improved. Bottom line, LG corporate is programmed to blame the consumer, even if they have a defective product. They dont stand behind their name at all. BUY A SAMSUNG!!!

Quite simply - THE MOST DANGEROUS OVEN... We have had 3 burns due to the smoothtop surface overheating during self cleaning cycle. If you have this oven - BEWARE. One burn was severe. The other problems, the touchpad works...then doesnt work. You never know when it will not comply. Tragically, Christmas dinner was 4 hours late due to this problem. If you cook on the burners and it gets too hot..the oven will not work....and vice versa. Had a repairman and he insists that the repair will cost more than the stove. I am hoping that others confirm they are having these nightmares!

We purchased an LG refrigerator model # LFXS29766s and an LG double oven stove on 9/3/2016 after the salesperson raved about the quality and reliability of LG’s appliances. On the evening of 8/22/2019 the refrigerator failed (just shy of the 3 year mark). The freezer started to defrost and the ice makers stopped working. By the next morning the refrigerator had stopped cooling and food was found at room temperature. Everything was tossed. A claim was filed through Home Depot (where product was initially purchased with a 5 yr protection plan) and was then forwarded to LG. I was informed on Monday 8/26 by an LG manager that there is no local service department in my area and that service was scheduled through a subcontractor (A&E Service) with the soonest availability being 9/17/2019 (3 weeks out) and that they had no one else that would/could service the refrigerator. They said they could escalate to 9/9/2019 but that is the very best they could offer which is still 2 weeks. The LG manager I spoke to said they would reimburse me up to $200 if I bought a mini fridge to hold us over. I already have a mini fridge and it isn’t suitable unless I plan on feeding my family cereal for the next 2 weeks. We need a functioning refrigerator ASAP and if I go out and buy a new one I’ve basically just thrown away the $2,442.00 I spent on this one. Now we sit here, stuck with a faulty refrigerator, no food in the house and we’re expected to wait weeks for a resolution. This is not acceptable.

I had the refrigerator for approximately without any problems. Style, price and capacity were the primary reasons I chose this particular refrigerator brand. In addition, the refrigerator was an appropriate items for the decor theme in the kitchen. Accessible water and ice from the door of the refrigerator, ample storage space for items placed in the refrigerator, blending of the refrigerator with the kitchen decor, ease of cleaning the inside and exterior surfaces and the quietness in the operation of the mechanical parts represent features I liked about the refrigerator. Shortly thereafter, issues developed with the ice maker that included water dripping from the ice container into the dispensing tray that eventually caused severe damage to the wood floor. In addition, maintaining an appropriate cooling temperature fluctuated, requiring a service technician attention.

Call LG and with smart diagnostic feature are told it is not cooling properly (Figured that out with spoiled food). The refrigerator is side by side, 27 cubic foot capacity and without the water and ice in the door feature. It has been a good refrigerator but not a great one. The price was what I was willing to pay and it got ok reviews from Consumer Reports. I would have liked the capacity to have been greater. The LG-WM3997HWA washers drain system is bad and the dryer doesnt dry! I spoke to a couple of LGs support people and the first one sent out a repair person because the machine doesnt dry. The repair person found nothing wrong. I called again because the machine still didnt dry and LG was again going to send out a repair person... I then called the repair person and he said these machines never dry and that if he came again, he would just check the specs and the specs were correct. So I called LGs support people again and this time the lady told me that the machine only dries to 90%. In point of fact, it doesnt really dry. I tried it using half the wash load and I think that after hours of drying, it was wetter than when it first came out of the wash. I now have to buy a dryer. I have been trying to dispute this with Goedekers the company that I purchased this machine from, but their policy is once its delivered, its yours. It makes no sense to me at all that they sell a washer/dryer that doesnt dry. I have used these kinds of machines in Japan and they work perfectly. It does take hours, but the wash comes out dry at the end and you dont have to remove half the wash to get it that way. Also your design for the machines drainage is horrible. To have the water drain out so close to the floor makes no sense. I used a flat tray to catch the water, but it is virtually impossible to control the flow and most of the time, it makes a mess. This is probably the worst appliance that I have ever bought. At this point, I now have to buy a dryer to put on top of the machine because the reason I bought it in the first place is because my laundry room is tiny. The point is that they should not be selling this machine and the public should be warned not to buy it.

Originally, I purchased the front load LG but realized that I couldnt soak clothes. I gave it to someone in need and purchased the LG WaveForce top loading. Wish I would have read reviews before buying. I cant get through one load without the machine being UE. Water will fill the machine as it tries to self-correct - what a waste of water! I cant leave the house and more specifically, I cant leave the laundry room (Im typing from the laundry room). It takes a couple of hours to wash one load of clothes. Water is never hot.The sink right next to the washer has hot water but I can barely get lukewarm for washing sheets and towels. Soaking clothes - well once I set it on soak and as soon as the machine filled, I turned it off, thinking it would soak until I restarted the washer. Wrong! The water slowly drains out. Next machine will be a top loading inexpensive washer like i use to have. GIVE ME BACK A SIMPLE MACHINE THAT ACTUALLY WASHES WITH MORE THAN A GALLON OF WATER!

Note that we have owned refrigerators for over 35 years, so are quite good
Note that we have owned refrigerators for over 35 years, so are quite good at evaluating them: we like the LG refrigerator overall, the interior layout and the 2 freezer drawers but, it has several annoying drawbacks/problems: (a) the flipper on the left-hand door, which flips to allow the door to properly close, has an extremely close tolerance, and we have already had a repairman come in to adjust it so the door would properly close (he told us its a common problem and showed me how to do it in the future). (b) The design of the ice dispenser is terrible, as it is nearly impossible to position a glass without some ice chips falling outside the glass, and, if you do not notice that someone has left the dispenser switch in the ice setting (a tiny light indicator) and you want a glass of cold water, the ice dispenser dumps out a load of ice before you can stop it, or vice versa, and if you have a visitor, make sure he/she doesnt go to get ice/water by himself; (c) the unit is noisy, as the case vibrates - if I press against the side the vibration stops, but starts again when I take my hand off; and (d) when it was delivered a small plastic part was missing on the flipper hinge, I asked Customer Service if they could just send me that little part, but no, they said they had to send a repairman, which required 2 visits as he could only replace the entire flipper assembly. We would show a friend these conditions before buying an LG.

I contacted them Aug 16 asking for an update, and again on Aug 22, to which they replied that they would be happy to look into this for you.On Aug 27, I got a message saying that the part should arrive that day. The tech we hired came 2 days later to install. So... after 2 months of living out of a cooler, we had our refrigerator back. As I said in my original review, the refrigerator is perfect for us, I love it. Unfortunately, I wouldnt buy another LG product, ever. If they start giving them away for free, Id be in line, but, nope. Not spending any money on their products. I still stand by the one star rating.

We had an LG refrigerator and over-stove microwave. Little things broke, bits of plastic, brackets etc., large annoyance factor. Also freezer at highest setting but does not get lower than 20 degrees (should be zero). Panel above door of microwave broke loose, could not be reset, had to hold it in place with tape. The brackets that hold up drawers for fruit & vegetables broke, we got a replacement, it broke again. This was all in the first year. The things just feel cheap and unreliable. We junked the microwave a year ago. Today, last straw for the fridge. The auto ice maker, over several weeks, was working, then stopped, then started again, then stopped, then started once more -- then went crazy! It would not stop pouring water into the ice tray. Had to cut off water supply. If we hadnt been home at the time and noticed, it would have flooded our kitchen. I have had it. Good Riddance LG!

Absolute nightmare dealing with this company. Our refrigerator quit cooling
Absolute nightmare dealing with this company. Our refrigerator quit cooling, common issue we found out. LG sent out repairman they determined it was the compressor, replaced it, still wasn’t working. They sent them out again and it was replaced a second time and still didn’t work. The repairman deemed it unfixable. We were told if it was deemed unfixable we would get reimbursed for the fridge or a new one, they had us email them our sale invoice so they could get us a new fridge. That was a lie. They sent the repairman out again. They had them replace every part in the fridge and guess what it still doesn’t work. Our refrigerator has not worked for 4 months, they have sent their repair company to our house 8 times. That is 8 days of missed work waiting on them to get here and work on the fridge. We have been told by a few of the customer service people on the phone that this case is getting escalated. Well it hasn’t. We have been told that if we were without the fridge 30 days it would get replaced that was a lie, not fixable it would get replaced also a lie. So we call them once again to let them know it isn’t working and now they say they can’t send someone out until January 7th. That’s another month without the damn fridge. We are beyond fed up with the poor customer service and absolute lies we have been told. Do yourself a huge favor and do not buy from this company.

After less than one year of owning my stainless LG gas range, the 5 knobs, which are made to mimic stainless, bubbled on the outside and cracked at the attachment spot. LG replaced them as it was within the warranty period. That was February 12, 2011. Less than one year later, 4 of 5 knobs are again bubbled and broken. I have not phoned LG to see their response yet but regardless, clearly the quality is incredibly poor.

This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned! A normal cycle is supposed to take 57 minutes. It routinely takes all day to wash one load of laundry due to constant error codes stating the machine is unbalanced. This happens no matter how small or large the load of laundry and no matter how carefully you load the machine. It does not get clothing clean. I have to hand wash all shirts before putting them into the machine, otherwise, deodorant builds up on the fabric under the arms. And the washer smells musty no matter how regularly you clean it. I will NEVER buy a washer like this again. I purchased this one because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports, but it has been terrible from the beginning!

We bought a very expensive LG French door bottom freezer, with an ice maker in the door fridge. It has never worked right. The ice maker was repaired 4-5 times during warranty. The compressor failed within 4 years, and it never keeps the right temperature, constantly freezing food in the fridge. We set it at 45-47, it does 30-32. We’re throwing away lots of vegetables ruined by freezing. Even worse, when we needed repair for the compressor, under warranty, we contacted LG. Their repairman came out and said he would order the part, and then we never heard from him again. Only one local vendor would work on it. The rest said they refuse to work on LG, there’s no support in the US. NEVER BUY AN LG APPLIANCE. THEYRE ONLY GOOD FOR ELECTRONICS!!!

Bought the washer and dryer in August 2011 (washer is WaveForce top loader). At first I loved it! I have 2 small kids and a dog so I wash a load daily at least. Got the software update notice so had that done. Noticed I would get the uE or UE code fairly often after that. Then one day no matter what setting I used it would get to the rinse cycle and never put water in it, wouldnt dispense my fabric softener, and just flash 22 min and then after a while stop and give me the UE code. So then I have to stop the unit, choose rinse/spin and then the fabric softener will be dispensed. Then when that is done, my clothes are still way too wet, so I have to choose spin only to try to get more water out. Sometimes I run it a few times and its still too wet. Called LG several times, downloaded the app to figure out what was wrong. Couldnt figure it out. Finally had LG repair place come to figure out whats wrong. $50 later I was told I need a new main board. So today 12-12-14 I had the repair guy out and he replaced the board. He ran his test washes (with an empty washer mind you) and it seemed fine. He left and I needed to wash what I had let pile up some because I knew it would be fixed...first load a light blanket. Washed it a hundred times before. Washer gave me same error codes at the same time. I called the company and was told service guy is out still. I called the cell phone of the service guy because he called when he arrived and left 2 vms and no reply back. Called LG to complain and am so tired of some idiot overseas talking in circles from a manual!!! So it was $190 today and its been almost 5 hours since they left and I just started a smaller load #3. I have 10 people that will be here over holiday and this is what I have to worry about! Towels and clothes starting to have a weird smell. They arent getting clean or spun out enough. And when I cant spin enough water it makes my dryer work harder. Thats next I bet. Worst experience with LG. Wish I wouldve seen this before. I always assumed LG was good. Never, ever, ever again!! Buyer beware!

In July 2017 we bought an LG electric/convection double oven stove. Almost as soon as we installed the appliance our first incident with the stove happened. I barely brushed the stove knob and the burner turned on. My husband happened to have his hand on the burner and he felt the heat. That should have been our first warning. Jumped forward to December 27, 2017 @ 6:29 pm. Shortly after my husband had heated up his dinner in the microwave, which is above the stove, I smelled something like plastic burning. I said to my husband I bet you bumped a knob on the stove. He proceeded to the kitchen and when he opened up the door flames and smoke billowed into our living room. Between the two of us we contained the fire and help was on the way.My review regarding this stove cannot be put in stars because they don’t have a negative value. As far as cooking on the stove we had no issues. I loved the double oven. But from our first experience shortly after installation to the night our house caught fire, the knobs were a concern. We have grandchildren who use the microwave... I shudder with the thoughts of what could have happened to them. There were no push then turn knobs, which is a common safety on most stoves, Or the knobs could have been on the back of the stove like some stoves. Now we are facing a total remodel on the kitchen, new cabinets, multiple appliances... etc.Yes, we have insurance but that’s not the issue. This fire could have been prevented if the knobs had a safety feature. I feel for the individuals who have the gas stove. I understand their concern. Gas leak vs fire makes for a bad day. With as many reviews I have read regarding this particular problem, LG should have a recall on this model stoves. Look into rectifying the situation so this does not happen to someone else and turn their world upside down. So as far as LG products are concerned, I’m boycotting them. We even have several other household products but when the stop working, no more LG products in my house. LG needs to step up their quality control on the designs of their kitchen appliances. You should never live in fear of ACCIDENTALLY turning on an appliance.

Purchase a set of LG washer (WT4870CW) and dryer from Best Buy that was last year’s model on 04/12/2014. Upon the washing machine acting up and not draining after about 10 or 11 months, we called LG support to get it corrected, was when we were informed it was almost two years old. Even when we had it less than a year. The washing machine had OE and UE errors popping up interrupting the spin cycle continuously, requiring resetting and restarting in the spin cycle. The first tech diagnosed it needed a stator, ordered that to our house and installed it, problem continued. LG schedule second tech service company, who diagnosed, after reading bulletin stator replacement no longer done, but circuitry parts. Ordered two, parts came to house and third person came in only installed one circuit, stating I needed two separate circuits for washer and dryer. Problem continued. LG was notified and I was informed the previous appliance service technicians came from an appliance service company that they can no longer recommend. Plus since this problem has extended past the original warranty I needed to get an extension, which was done at no cost, to cover the next service person. A third appliance company, who came today and diagnosed Pipe in house will not let unit drain, gets pressure build up and no drain. Customer needs plumber. Nothing wrong with unit.” I immediately returned home and showed the tech the fault of his diagnosis by detaching the drain from the drain pipe in the house and connecting the cold water feed to the drain pipe and had it run for several minutes. THEN he said, I dont know what to tell you. Then he said my pipe was too high, so I pulled out the manual nearby and NOPE the pipe length was well within the distance in the manual. Wrong again. The machine works he said, when you dont connect it to the drain pipe, so it’s a drain problem he said. Nothing wrong with the machine when you disconnect it and let it run in a garbage barrel, he said. What are you talking about, the machine worked for like 10 or 11 months and now this problem wont go away and you are saying that the problem is not with the machine? “Oh it tries to send the water up but it can only send so much, then it figures it cant then it shuts down.” “Oh,” I said, “then it’s a sensor problem, or a computer problem.” “No there is nothing wrong with the machine, when you disconnect the pipe into a garbage barrel.” How does this continue on? “Oh, Ill have my boss give you a call, because I cant fix a problem that isnt there.” There were also suggestions to re-route my drain pipe through the basement window opening, creating a new larger pipe, but his suggestions simply met deaf ears by that time. So after he leave and here I am at the Consumer Affairs site reading all the numerous complaints and I find one service tech diagnosed a pressure switch as the problem, which under warranty I would welcome before I send this unit to the scrap heap.

LG, please do not respond to this with the canned phrase Thank you for notifying LG of the experience you have encountered thus far. We bought an LG French door refrigerator 3 years ago and it has already broken. It is no longer covered under warranty. We called three appliance repair companies in our area and all of them said that they won’t service LG refrigerators. We called LG and they sent someone out who said it needs a new compressor which will cost $1600. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a common problem with LG fridges. After only 3 years, our choices are to pay $1600 to fix it or buy a new fridge.

Every time I called, I got a different explanation of what I had to do to get a resolution. I basically got lied to every time I called. I got from 2 days to 15 days. Then I got, “Oh, you must submit this and that.” Every one of them that I could understand said, “Oh, sorry for your problem. Ill note that and that is all I can do.” As well as, “System is down today, sorry.” I requested a senior advisor or someone and never got anything but, “All I can do is note that, so sorry. Anything else I can do?The cost from the spoiled food I have had to throw out over the years is astronomical. The fact that I havent gotten seriously sick from the food is miraculous. Every time I had a little food that didnt taste right, I threw it out. There were so many times my ranch salad dressing tasted so sour, but I ate some and served it. But then I replaced it. I and my guests are lucky we werent poisoned, though I have had some minor stomach bouts. And now think I know why.I have suffered with a horrible refrigerator from LG for almost 5 years. I purchased an extended warranty (worthless) from Assurant. It has malfunctioned since day 1. I made a few calls early on and gave up...Due to personal circumstances recently (divorce and unemployment), I needed to have my refrigerator working for my future sustenance. So before the warranty ran out, I started on this ridiculous journey of trying to get it fixed. It has turned into a nightmare. And from what I can gather, guess I am lucky my house didnt burn down from some defect LG knew about, as well as not to be dead from food poisoning.

I bought an LG French door refrigerator 3 years ago and I wish I would have seen these reviews back then. Please DO NOT purchase an LG refrigerator! Listen to the people who wrote the bad reviews and do your homework. We all have the same reoccurring problem. The compressors fail by the most 3 years. Mine failed after 3 years and then again after 2 months. Twice in two months I lost my food. The first time in January of 2020 and then again in April 2020. They compensated me the first time for food loss but the second time they denied me because they said 12 months have to go by before they can compensate me again. Whoever thought this would happen again within 2 months. This time I lost more food cause I made sure I had enough food to last me for 3 weeks since we are in quarantine. It is very stressful during these times to try to stay safe while shopping. I had to wait one week for a repair man to come and worry about us staying safe and distant when he was repairing. I lost all my food and had to purchase a limit amount of food to fit in my cooler with ice. This imposed a tremendous inconvenience since I had to shop at least three times that week. I called customer service and all they could say was sorry about that maam. Are they really sorry? This was not my fault but a product failure and they should be responsible to accommodate their customers with their needs. I paid $4,000 for this fridge and I did not expect this to happen so soon. This must happen quite often so they implemented a rule about compensating after twelve months. Be careful. Life is not all Good with LG.

LDG4313ST Gas Range - Since buying this range in December we have had 3 major problems. 1. Finish on bottom panel peeling off. 2. Convection oven making a loud noise, spewing soot, and setting off our carbon monoxide alarm. 3. Oven temperature varies hugely. I contacted LG the first time letting them know I read the owners manual I was given and saw nothing about foil placed on the bottom to catch drips. I make an apple pie during the holidays and for years I have always put foil on the bottom of whatever range I was using to catch the drips. Never had a problem before. Got a form letter saying that though placing foil on the bottom was a common practice that in THEIR ranges you could not. I further investigated their manual and found something in troubleshooting about it. By then, it was too late. The form letter gave no information about how to get a replacement panel. Poor customer service number one.The first time I tried to use the convection oven it smelled weird and then set off the carbon monoxide detector. I found soot on the front glass door. I entered another complaint. This time they sent out a service person. He called them and turns out this is a known problem. The oxygen/gas mix is too rich. So we have been waiting for over a month for the mod. I call appliance company. They say its back ordered with no known date for coming in. I also have them order the base panel. They got the part number. 50 bucks. Irked me, but figured at that point it wasnt that much, I would pay for it.After a long 40 minutes on hold to get to customer service at LG I was first told the mod was back ordered. Then I was told that it was the base plate that was back ordered and they could get the mod part within 3 or 4 days. I said, Fine, fix the dang convection oven so I can use it. Even though there are only 2 screws to install, they say base plate must be put in by a tech. They confirm they wont pay for it, even though we have been waiting a month to even get any news about parts.THEN, this weekend I attempted to bake a cake. I have noticed some issues with cookies, but managed. The cake rose as it should in the middle and then fell by the time I looked again. I checked the temperature and according to the panel, (I shut off and then turned back on to see what temp it thought it was) it was down to 250 when I had it set at 350!!! What the heck!!! I then checked the complaints on LG stoves and many people have problems with widely varying temperatures. LG has refused to allow techs to replace the control boards saying this is how they operate!!! They have come up with lots of excuses with customers. At this point, I have no intention of calling them back. I am copying all the complaints about their ranges and going to see if I can get Home Depot to take it back. Its a piece of junk. If they wont take it back, then I will start with LG. I want a refund. I do NOT want another stove from them. I will never again buy another LG product. They have awful customer service and dont seem to give a crap about the fact their products dont perform as they should. One positive note. The melting knob problem is fixed on this model. Only if the ranges worked.

We purchased and LG refrigerator and dishwasher about 2 years ago. Have had nothing but problems with the refrigerator, but it is working for now. The dishwasher will not clean the dishes. Because it is out of warranty, I called to get a service appointment set up only to be told that the price which I had been quoted by two of their representatives had gone up over $100 when I finally got to the department which could schedule the service. $100 in less than three minutes? I was told that it was due to sales tax. Total nonsense as nobody charges over 60% tax and we dont even pay tax on service calls in this state! After calling back, I managed to get the price back down to what was promised and secured an appointment for the next afternoon. The next morning I received an overnight-mail package. It was the pump for my dishwasher which had arrived before the technician could even look at the machine. Obviously LG has had this problem many times before if they know the problem before they can even look at the appliance! Why was there no recall of the defective part if the problem is that common? This company is to be avoided at all costs. They will lie to you and will do absolutely anything to avoid accepting responsibility for their worthless products! If there were a negative number of stars with which I could rate them, I would.

Our LG washer was recalled, due to the agitator coming up out of the machine and injuring people. This happened apparently as a result of washing waterproof bedding. LG sent a repairman out, and he did nothing other than put a sticker on the washer that said not to wash waterproof items. This didnt work for us, as my little boy has asthma and needs his mattress covers washed. We proceeded to go shopping, possibly for another LG, but found that ALL LG washers have that warning. We ended up going for a different brand and I am glad we did because about 6 months later, our LG dryer started making this horrible clacking noise. Turned out the drier actually has a cracked drum.We called the LG company, and they said we had to have the receipt (from 4 years ago) or they cant help us. The manager actually hung up on me. We called the place that we got the dryer from, but they dont keep receipt records that long. We also tried our credit card company, and their records only go back to 2011. Stay far, far, away from any LG products. This company makes defective equipment, knows it, and then makes it impossible for you to meet their requirements for them to repair the defects. If you think you may want an LG device, please look at all the bad reviews and horror stories. It takes just a simple Google search.

Knobs on stove disintegrate & become nonfunctional & break. This is my 3rd replacement of knobs, & I will need a 4th replacement soon. The first 2 were covered by extended warranty. The knobs when bumped, can easily, cause gas to escape. The can happen with the lightest bump, & is generally unnoticed, by individual, until the strong gas smell is evident! My communications over the years has been extremely frustrating, & unacceptable. I was told that knobs are ornamental by one employee. Another claimed it was my misuse because I left the oven door open. Once someone told me I would get replace the knobs free within a week. They never came! I finally bought new ones for about $275. The plastic overlay on what appears to be a metal knob is beginning to crackle. That means the cylinder that holds the knob on is soon to break. I bought the latest replacement knobs less than 6 months ago. It seems to me there is a sufficient case for a class action suit against LG.

I purchased LG stainless double-door bottom freezer refrigerator model #lfy
I purchased LG stainless double-door bottom freezer refrigerator model #lfy25980st in 2009. I purchased a two-year extended warranty on the item. From the first six months, the ice maker and water dispenser worker poorly. Servicemen were out several times attempting to repair it. Finally they replaced it. I woke up several times after that to water all over my kitchen floor where water was running from dispenser. Then in September of 2011, I came home from vacation to find all the food in the freezer thawed and milk spoiled in fridge. In December that same year, the food on top shelf of fridge was frozen. I was told that I had the vents blocked with too much food. In 2012, the digital lock signal on the door panel would make sounds turning on and off the lock which turns off the water and ice dispenser. It made this noise all night. At this time, my warranty was up and I was using my home warranty plan at $55.00 per visit with a visit sometimes twice a month. I lost food at $400.00 a second time. The service men came out, changed the freezer sensor twice, replaced freezer door on unit and changed the motherboard in back of unit. It still didnt work properly. My home warranty company called LG, spoke to a gentleman named Alex who deemed it unrepairable on March 29th, 2014 with a wiring problem. I was told to send in my proof of purchase and repair history and they would replace or discount another one. Today, 5/8/2014, they have done nothing. As a matter of fact, I was told that since I had a warranty company, they would do nothing. The company only covers $500.00 per year on any covered item and they had already spent that trying to repair it. I would think LG could make a unit that works, not just looks good. Not even two good years. No one should ever buy LG products; I know that is it for my family!!

It started when we got back from a family vacation in mid July 2018. We have owned our LG refrigerator for 3 years and we are a family of 7. Upon our return from vacation, we went grocery shopping. The very next day our refrigerator failed and all of our food was spoiled. We had spent hundreds of dollars at Costco and other grocery stores. Home Depot Protection Plan sent out a company to diagnose the issue. Once they diagnosed the problem, they said they couldnt fix our refrigerator. We had to make another appointment but this time with an LG specialist, which took another week to schedule. When they showed up we expected them to fix our fridge, but instead they had to diagnose and said they could not go off the previous companys diagnoses. Although, both companies said the refrigerators compressor went out. We were then told the part was on back order due to these refrigerators breaking down from LG. The part didnt come in until September. Once the new compressor was installed we were assured within 48 hours we could use it again. Again we went shopping and and lost all of our food again. Once we got the company back out, they said it was a faulty compressor and they would have to order us a new one.We have now had 2 food loss claims and 2 compressors replaced. Again, being assured the fridge would work, we bought more food. This time we realized the fridge was making weird noises and the freezer was not keeping our food frozen. After several more calls and several more service calls, our freezer is still not working properly 9 months later. Each time a new guy shows up telling us something new as to why this was happening. We have complied with everything they have asked us to do. We now have our fridge pulled out a foot away from the wall, which is a complete eye sore, and it is still not working properly. We have had over 9 calls to the Home Depot Protection Plan company for the same issue and they are still not calling it a lemon! We recently had another appointment on March 15th, 2019 for a final diagnosis, and the company never showed up! We are throwing away so much food which is a waste of our time and money. My family and I are scared to buy a lot of food because we are afraid the LG refrigerator is going to break down again. Our plan states after 2 calls for the same issue it is considered a lemon and it would be a Buy Out. We have had enough of this run around!

Purchased the LG glass cooktop stove as part of a package - model # LRE3193ST in Oct. 2017, less than 2 years ago and one of the glass stove top burners started turning on by itself. I was awoken at 1:30 am this past Sat by smoke alarm because of a fire. I had placed a dish towel on top of the stove which I had not used for 3 days. Today I came home from work and the same burner was on HIGH. Thankfully I had cleared the stove top off and have not used it. It could have burned my house down while I was at work. Has anyone else had this happen?

I have called LG and talked to their repairman, they stated they are not aware of the issue. Now I see that other people are complaining of the same issue. LG Steam Washer WM2501h*A - I have been satisfied with this washer, except for its occasional inability to properly spin bulky or mixed loads. However all that changed the weekend before Thanksgiving when it apparently completed a load of clothes and then completely stopped functioning - no lights, no error messages, nothing. My husband did a bit of troubleshooting to make sure it was getting power (it was) and checking online. He suspected it needed a new motherboard. We found a local repairman who was able to come out the next day and he determined that was indeed the problem. This washer is less than 3 years old, and after having an old workhorse of a heavy-duty Kenmore that worked reliably for more than 20 years, with minimal problem, I was very disappointed this new fancy machine was already having a problem with a repair cost of $350. We bought LG because they were getting good reviews, and spent a pretty good piece of change on both the washer and dryer - I would never have expected to have any problem in this short of a time frame. I probably should have stuck with an old top-loader with old proven mechanism instead of trying to go green and save a little water... incredibly disappointed in LG.

After two years, our LG dishwasher stopped pumping out the water after washing. Upon calling LG customer service, after having to pre-pay an expensive repair bill, they sent a technician to our home to repair the machine. We are now on our fifth visit and the machine is still not repaired. The repair person just took the new parts, put them in the machine, slid the machine back into the cabinet and left, never to return to complete the job.The machines quality is poor, parts difficult to get, and service totally incompetent. Avoid this companys products at all costs. They are over priced, do not last, and are difficult to get repaired. We also own an LG refrigerator and after one year, the ice maker/water dispenser system totally failed. We are talking about a two thousand five hundred dollar refrigerator. Again, avoid LG appliances, they are junk! Their repair service is just as bad, if not worse.

Ive been waiting for over 6weeks now for LG to send me a compressor for my refrigerator. The customer service representative are so full of it. They fully aware that I have no cooling system and they dont even care. Why did LG agreed to replace the system in the first place when fully aware that they will hold the consumer hostage by delaying the product delivery. I have 4 kids. The temperature outside has been in the high 90s and they refused to send me the parts that is needed. Even though I was told they wont pay for the labour, Im ok with that but at least send the parts that was covered under the warranty. Im tired of calling their unprofessional customer services again. Reading comments from other people that are in my same situation just makes it worst.

After 3 years needed minor repair. LG wouldn’t sell me the part. Had to pay LG repair guy to do a job I could easily do. Very annoying. After 5 years door seal went. Called. They said weld broke on drum. $800 for parts not worth fixing. Single man after 5 years. The quality of consumer products today is so low I feel like a fool recycling my pop tins and putting my washer in a landfill after 5 years. When we went shopping for a new washer/dryer, I was upset to find that nobody carried the old-timey washing machines -- unless you wanted a very small tub that you cant wash your bedding in. I did not like the fact that these new washing machines did not let you set your own water level or preferred washing cycle (you know, permanent press, delicate, regular, etc.); nor did I like the fact that it did NOT have an agitator. I do not need a washer/dryer for dummies who need presets for the various types of loads. LOL Plus, I had a sneaking suspicion that a washer without an agitator couldnt get laundry cleaned properly.Well, as it turns out, everything I did not like about the new washers is everything that I absolutely hate about our LG top loader that we bought in 2012. I was right not to want one in the first place, but I had no choice but to buy one if I wanted a NEW washer/dryer. The load sensor simply cannot gauge the size of a load properly. It either adds too much or too little water. Most of the time, it wont add enough water to cover even half of the load. When you trick it into adding more water (by opening and closing the lid as if you added garments), it ALWAYS adds water to the top -- even for a tiny load of undies.I was told they came out with these new types of washers to help reduce water usage. Well, thats an epic fail! Especially since the machine never gets the laundry clean, which often results in washing a load two or three times. I always wondered why Downy came out with those scent-boosting pellets, which we never needed with our old-timey washer -- because these washers simply do not clean clothes and they need something to make things at least smell good. Who do they think theyre fooling when soiled clothes come out of the washer still soiled? Now, about the lack of agitator, I couldnt have been more right. I was told by the salesman that the wave force is the way the machine agitates the clothes. Well, how can the wave force work when theres too little water in the machine that it doesnt even cover the load? When it fills the tub to the top on a load that didnt need that much water, the wave force causes the clothing to get all twisted. Each piece is twisted on itself as well as twisted with other clothing items. How gentle is that on clothing? With my old-timey washer, I could wash the dogs bedding and have it come out minus all of the dog hair and any stains and smells. Not with this machine. Theres always a significant collection of dog hair, particularly on the top, and I had to begin using color bleach to help with stains and smells better, but its still not clean. Dont even get me started on how unclean undies come out. LOL Those two types of loads, as well as towels, are usually the ones I have to wash two or three times -- and they STILL arent as clean as they should be.At least the dryer does a decent job, but it makes a weird noise that has me worried it will break down at any moment. Also, I fortunately have not had as many issues with the washer getting unbalanced as Ive read that others have had, but I hope I didnt just jinx myself by saying that because it does seem to be happening more often of late.At the moment, I simply cannot afford to replace a washer/dryer set thats only a few years old. My old Maytag lasted 20+ years with only two minor belt replacements, so I certainly did not expect to have to replace a three-year-old set or spend gobs of money fixing something that, according to other reviews, probably wont fix a thing.I tell you what, though, when I do go to replace them, if the stores do not have the old-timey machines with large-capacity tubs, I will go to a store that refurbishes them and spend my hard-earned money there -- most likely on a Maytag set. Maybe I should go check them out now to see how affordable they are. I know for a fact they wont cost thousands of dollars and will STILL actually get my clothes clean with less time and water -- not to mention without Downys smell-good-dirty pellets. LOLIn conclusion...just say no! Not only to LG, but any washer like it because its not possible to PROPERLY wash laundry without an agitator. Furthermore, if youre a green person like me who wants to save on water, you will cringe at how much water these washing machines cause you to waste just trying to get your laundry clean -- and to no avail.

Back in November 2008 we purchased an LG front load washer from Home Depot. After two months of owning the washer it went crazy! I had put a load of clothes in to wash and went about my chores, when I heard a horrible banging sound! When I ran into the laundry room I saw the washer jumping all over the place and beating holes in my wall! Before I could get to the plug to disconnect power, the front of the machine blew off and the washer drum fell out. I was in shock, my floor was flooded and the machine was destroyed! I called LG and explained what had happened and their wonderful customer service suggested that I unplug the machine for 15 minutes and then try it again! Really??? After 3 weeks, about 50 phone calls they finally sent a repairman out who said it was do fixable! Another two weeks went by and we finally got a replacement machine. The replacement leaks all of the time! They have been out to check it more times than I can count and it still leaks! I will never buy another LG product!

The LG side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser is only three years old, but major rust has developed on the door beneath the ice and water dispenser insert. The control panel has had to be replaced once. The ice bucket freezes up regularly and so the ice dispenser wont work (it has been replaced twice) and the ice cover has broken and been replaced. The extended warranty from Sears wont cover the rusting problem and LG refuses to do anything saying that the rust is considered cosmetic. We bought this unit because of its large capacity. However, with multiple repairs under the warranty and the rust, we regret the decision.

I purchased a $6,000.00 worth of LG appliances approximately one and a half years ago from Sears. The microwave oven (Model: 2085ST) now needs a replacement door panel not covered by the warranty. The microwave has had minimal usage (average use of once a week which equates to 60 uses). Upon attempting to resolve the problem using the LG customer service line, I was referred to a local service center which did not even work on LG appliances. Additionally, I was placed on hold twice and had to repeat my issue twice to rude employees. The quality of the appliance and the customer service is so poor. LG Compressor complaint bought 3 years ago (brand new). 05/15/2017 - When I started filing a claim thru LG protection plan. I spoke to a male representative and mentioned that he will send someone to check the fridge. We briefly explained to him whats going on. That the fridge is not cooling and since my husband is a technician himself, he knows whats going on to the fridge. My husband mentioned that the compressor is not working. The rep sent us a part for relay which when the (First attempt) technician came over to fix it. He said that they sent the wrong parts. He said and will report to LG that it was the compressor that is broken. We waited for the parts to be ordered. I called several times to follow up (month of May/June). The reps were telling me that the compressor is on its way and they have set up an appointment with the technician but the parts still hasnt arrive to the house. I even asked the representative if the technician will have the actual compressor because we havent received it. She said if we didnt have it then the technician would probably have it. When the same technician arrived to the house (Second attempt), he doesnt have the parts and we dont have it as well. He ended up leaving without fixing it and recommended to call LG again. I called and when I spoke to another representative, they said that it was on back order. How come they didnt explained it in the first place and sending the technician just to waste our time? I complaint to them and ended up talking to a supervisor who gave me a mini fridge that we picked up at a local Home Depot for the inconvenience because I told them that Im pregnant and taking insulin which I appreciate them for accommodating me.When I called and spoke to the technician. He mentioned that when its 40 days and still cant find the parts that probably we will be reimbursed. I called on the 40th day. That is June 26th. That same day the compressor came in the morning and my mother received it. However I was not home at the time so I asked him if he will schedule the service. The representative I spoke to said that he cant schedule it for some reason in his system and told me to call an 800-243-0000 number to schedule the service. When I called this number, they couldnt locate my claim nor cant find me on the file. The person I spoke to said that I have to call LG back to get this situated. Then they schedule me with Precision services who message since 06/28/2017 and said that they will schedule the service and we will get a call. Several text reminders received until on 06/29/2017 a text message came and said they are ready to schedule the service. Still theres no live person that I can talk to when they are coming. On 06/30/17; they message me again and wants me to explain briefly what the situation is. Instead of texting them I called them instead and was able to talk to someone who scheduled the service on 7/7/2017.Finally the tech came in the morning and my husband called me at work and said that the technician didnt fix it and just troubleshoot the problem about the compressor. He even said that why sent him there when they know that they have to send a LG manufacturing license technician who can fix the compressor. I got so furious and upset. I called them on 7/7/2017 and spoke to the supervisor, Angel who promised that someone within 4 hours will call me and schedule the service but no one called. I called this Morning and spoke to another supervisor named Chase who stated that theres a service provider that can do it and its near our location and will request it however, considering its the weekend that they might be closed. He said that I have to wait 1 business day. I told him I was told if they couldnt locate anyone to fix our fridge to just reimburse us. We have been waiting for so long. Its going to be almost 2 months without a fridge. Several calls has made and they didnt even call us back for the status. I have to constantly call them what happened to the back order parts, when finally we receive the parts, asking them when the technician will fix it. Now, they couldnt locate a license technician who can fix our LG fridge and still I have to wait. Theyre explaining that it has to be license LG manufacturing which I totally understand. If they know the problem, they should have located a technician long time back. I have this on file, the other technician informed them the problem since beginning of June. We are now in July and still no resolution. I will wait again on Monday for a phone call which is not for sure if they will find a technician and still by then he is still not sure what will be the resolution to the problem. They keep on promising and misleading the customer. What kind of LG protection is this, this should have been handled smoothly. When you have protection services, they should have a good contact technician that is license to fix with this kind of problem and not let the customer have false hope, give reason to wait and still be disappointed. Sorry doesnt cut the chase and were still inconvenience with this problem. Im pregnant and stressing me so much. I dont know what else I can do to resolve my issue and Im writing a complaint and hoping that someone from LG Company resolve this issue as soon as possible. I saw LG compressor complaints online and has 1840 which I dont know if they resolve it. They should at least pay attention to this issues.

Had nothing but problems from this machine, and with the service provided. Pump broke after 3 months, took 6 weeks to get someone over to fix it. Said they had no service in my area. Took 3 weeks to make an appointment, said computer would not accept, and to call back later. Finally talked to a service man on the phone, told him that I thought it was the pump, he said he thought so to. Shows up next day, yep it’s the pump. (Why not bring one with you)! Got to order one. Be back next week. Pump took 2 weeks to get here. Then another week to get them out to fix it. (Somewhere in the process. I went out and bought a cheaper washer, just to please the wife). The old pump had a straight pin in it, shut it down. Ok, now, after having the washer for over a year, the washer will never just wash the cloths, it stops with a UE error about every time. Took the wife 8 hrs to wash 1 load the other day. Got my service man on the way to try to fix this problem. Let you know how it turns out.

Update 08/21/2019:After posting this review LG was quick to respond with to a private exchange to stand behind their product. We had several exchanges concluding with me sending them the details and invoice from the LG certified repair company we had used to assess the unit. Unfortunately after this exchange we have received no further communication from LG. They had stated they would stand behind the quality of their product however after more than 2 weeks of silence and a not functioning refrigerator I am losing confidence. I am disappointed that they set the expectation that they would help and then have failed to respond. Not only because I would like their help but I need to decide if I need to buy a new refrigerator. Ironically the short term solve has been to use a 20 year old Amana unit in the garage which has never needed any repairs. Maybe we should go back to a more reliable brand. Original review:We bought an LG refrigerator when we purchased a new home. 5 year and 2 months later the board has gone out, the fan motor isnt working, and our repair man says the defrost is also not working. To fix it will cost more than $1000 with parts and labor. Very disappointed to be needing a new unit after just 5 years.

Many factors weighed in choosing which one to get purchased it because it was cheap and a good size. It can fit a lot for a small refrigerator, we have a tiny kitchen and that one fit. It keeps the food in the fridge nice and cold. I hate room temperature water and if I put water in, then its cold almost immediately. It is a nice texture and overall a good fridge. Sometimes it can get too cold though. Things almost get frozen, which can be nice but also nasty and leave residue. It also broke so we had to buy a new one.

The handle on the fridge has come loose and is extremely difficult to tighten. These appliances are absolutely terrible. I would never recommend them.

Be super careful when purchasing a LG refrigerator floor model from Best Buy! Purchase a floor model unit in October 2019. The sales representative assured me the manufacturers (LGs) warranty would apply. Three weeks after it was delivered (four weeks after the purchase date), a water line failed. Called LG service and provided a copy of the sales receipt (proof of purchase) and they said Sorry, we well not fix it. Called Best Buy who said Sorry, you are on your own. Sent a letter to both. Zero response. Again, be SUPER careful with LG refrigerators from Best Buy. Charlie

Buyer beware. We moved into our new house and discovered the existing french door LG was not cooling. (I see other reviews here mentioning the same cooling issue) It is three years old and no longer cooling. Trying to get this under-warranty refrigerator serviced has been a nightmare. Only registered techs can repair it if you can find someone in your area. It has been two months, three service people and two plus hours on the phone with LG and I have yet to have a service person even begin to work on it. If the next service person who comes (tech number 4 in 3 weeks) tells me that it really isnt this its really that and of course they dont have the part or the order was not written correctly or they just dont show up because they resigned and didnt tell anyone, I will pull my hair out. I advise anyone who is considering this refrigerator to find something else and save yourself the frustration (They should have minus stars on here).

I purchased my LG French Door freezer model number LFX25976 through Direct Buy during 2011. The bottom freezer abruptly stopped freezing and the refrigerator stopped cooling. However, the fan works. Was initially believing refrigerator had gone into automatic defrost but after two days of none cooling or freezing, my belief now is that the compressor may be the culprit. One year ago, same incident occurred but after several hours, my refrigerator began cooling and freezing again. Contacted LG during that time and was advised that it was common for the refrigerator to automatically defrost and does so without any warning. But this time it has been two days and my refrigerator has yet to begin functioning properly.

Ive had this machine for 6 or 7 yes now. I dont know who came up with the idea that the tub needs to be balanced before it adds water. It just isnt necessary and it wears out the spinner gears. I have had mine replaced. Just another money grab. Now I need to replace the drain pump. More money. I only do on average 3 loads a week. Thats not a lot for me to have had to make 2 repairs. I dont recommend. LG makes a good TV. They should stick to that.

The Model No.GL-D372RLJM has a very serious design defect: it possesses an irreparable heater plate which is a crucial part of the defrosting system. Once this heater plate cracks, cooling of the lower section of the fridge stops and the whole fridge must be trashed. Our fridge developed this problem when it was only 5 years old. After a lengthy wait, LG made an exchange offer, in which the worth of this fridge was deemed just 15% of the original purchase price. A fridge having a life span of 5 years is ridiculous. Equally insane is the policy of making the customer pay for LG’s own design defect.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator with bottom freezer in June of 2013. In August of 2013, the ice maker went out. It took about 2wks to get it repaired. Now here in May of 2014, the ice maker and freezer arent working. I have asked that the refrigerator be replaced because not only is the ice maker not working, but now the freezer, which is a clear indication that it is a faulty product. LG has refused to replace it stating they will only repair it. They have tried and were unable to fix the initial problem. The fair and responsible thing to do is replace this faulty product.

My beautiful LG stainless steel, 3 door refrigerator failed May 1st 2016. It was purchased on 9/13/2013 from HHGregg and we purchased the 5-year extended warranty. To make a long story short, we have been totally without refrigeration for over 2 months. I have called LG more times than you can imagine as well as HHGREGG. They have sent out 2 different LG authorized servicemen, both of whom agreed that the compressor had totally failed as well as the motherboard. HHGregg indicates it is not their problem since the compressor is warrantied by LG so extended warranty doesnt apply, and LG blames their authorized service people saying most recently that service center apparently ordered compressor from another distributor. (Wonder why??) I have given one-star review only because I could not give a negative. In the developed world a refrigerator is a necessity, not a luxury. But despite have given $3360.61 for this unit, less than 3 years ago, and having purchased a 5-year extended warranty, my family has been living for 9 weeks without refrigeration, and little assistance from any of the involved parties. When the LG # answers and sweetly says LIVING GOOD I want to vomit... or maybe it is something I ate!

The above is a repair order number. The rating is NOT for the LG technician that repaired my LG refrigerator. The rating is because this is the second time my compressor has gone out. Exactly a year from the replacement, it broke down again. I am very dissatisfied with the compressor and LG.

As youve all stated, this brand is junk. Not only has my 2006/07 model washer failed twice, it smells (even after clean and running tub clean often) and it leaves streaks on whites. After each white load, I inspect the garment before drying because if you do, it will be permanent. The dryer doesnt dry. You have to run at least the normal cycle and then follow-up with the speed dry cycle to finish it off. This isnt only me. I have 4 friends who have the LG combo (various models, years, configurations) and each has similar complaints. I will never buy anything from LG ever again. Nothing.

Then clothes having blackish grey on all white sheets marks on not clean, Ive tried to ring LG for help, rude. Ive followed instructions from manual cleaning machine as well as drain. Also was told not to use fabric softener as they said that was the cause of the build up of blackish grey on my clothes. Ive used it in all washing machine never had a problem, so I stopped using fabric softener. 2 months on still have the same problems. I would like to know why they have a fabric softener slot in the top drawer of the washing machine ??? Rang HARVEY Norman. Warranty runs OUT in February 2018! Photos my white sheet!
