Ive had so many problems with this washer. Everything has been replaced on the machine and it is still a failure! It has overflowed 5+ times. Stopped draining 4 times (fun getting water out of it...). Have been without a washer for a total of two months! My In-Laws have the same and theirs hasnt been a problem (however it isnt used as much as mine.). Hopefully mine is just a Lemon! Ill never buy another one!!!!! Especially from Lowes. They deem it only a lemon if it has had the same issue for 4-5 times. That is with the extended warranty! TO THE DUMP IT GOES!

Ive owned whirlpool appliances for forty years or more, and have been consistently pleased with them. My first washer and dryer lasted eighteen years while raising a family. Brand X lasted eight years with at least four repairs before we dumped the set. We moved and sold one set with the house, but my newest washer and dryer set is eleven years, and works fine. Ive had at least four ranges. We sold two of them with the houses, but theyve all been fine, just bought a snazzy new Whirlpool range as an upgrade. Im on my fourth Whirlpool refrigerator, but again we sold one with the house and we upgraded one perfectly good Whirlpool refrigerator to a bigger side by side with icemaker. Third whirlpool dishwasher. Weve moved a lot, leaving behind appliances and buying new ones. Sure, Whirlpool appliances break down, but they sell zillions of them, and you never hear about the zillions that never break down.

I purchased the Whirlpool Duet June 2011. Within two weeks, it was tearing my clothes. It didnt matter how little of a load it was, they still ripped. Five months later, my machine was leaking water. The repair man came out. I told him it was also tearing my clothes. His only response was dont load it to full. Well, I called the store where I purchased it and they are sending a repair man out again. I told them to either fix this from ripping my clothes or I was going to take a hammer to the machine and never buy a Whirlpool again or give them a good reference. I also called Whirlpool directly and told them of my problem and they acted like they had never heard of this happening before. I told them to search the internet because everyone is having the same complaint! I had a Fridgidaire front loader for 9 years and never had a problem with it eating my clothes.

After years, the gas hot water heater model fg1f5040t3nov went out. The plumber had me get a new part. 2-3 weeks ago, it went out again. I am trying another new igniter assembly. If it goes again, Im getting a new heater - not a Whirlpool! My plumber says he can get me a new one for a little more than I spent on the Whirlpool, and its much more dependable.

While the washer is great, the reliability of the dryer is lacking. The timer has broken 3 times on ours in 3 years. Each time the cost of the switch is $75.00. Too much plastic on the shaft. If the plastic was removed, and the shaft was metal, it would be a definite improvement.

This product is unsafe and should be recalled. It has aluminium wires that connect the unit to the 220 Vol Power source. Aluminium and copper wire dont mix. I took a shower and was getting ready to leave for the day when I went into my garage to smell burning plastic and wires. I traced it to the hot water heater and discovered the wires in the Energy Smart were melted and burned. I checked with Two Electricians who told me that the wires in the unit can not handle the high heat and melt. If you have one get rid of it. Had I left for the day I would have lost my home, cars and pets. If anyone would like to see this unit I still have it and photos.

Had washer less than 1 year and washer stopped and was flashing code F 51. Called Whirlpool and they sent a repair person. He worked on it and didnt fix problem. Called Whirlpool back. They had to order parts. Repairman came back - replaced parts. Now not 6 months later same thing happening. Whirlpool said we have to pay for labor to repair again. We went online after this happened the first time and saw where others had same problem - this washer should be recalled. The repairman said this part was corroding. This should not be happening on a new washer. We will never buy another Whirlpool product again!!!! Im concerned that it will keep repeating over and over and we paid 700+ for this washer not 1 1/2 ago. My last washer lasted 15 years!!! Wasnt a Whirlpool!!!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW6500WW1) on 9/11/09 for approximately $800. Now three years later, it needs a new rotor and stator costing $470 in parts and labor. I called Whirlpool and was told I could get no help with the cost of parts because of the age of the machine! A simple Google search of the F51 error code that I am getting will show you that these machines are $800 pieces of junk! I am not repairing this machine. I am going to run it until it dies and simply buy a new washer. You can bet your sweet self it will not be a Whirlpool! I can only hope to inform enough buyers about this to keep them from the same fate.

The gas water heater that we purchased has been a headache. Pilot went out several times. When we contacted Customer service they informed us that we would have to have a new kit put on it. We ordered that and it worked a while and then we started having the same problem. Just recently we had to purchase another part and once again we have cold water. Fed up.

Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEAW0 Washer - Bought the machine in Feb 2014 and was generally very pleased with it. However a few weeks ago we started getting oil/grease stains on clothing. Wasnt sure what was causing it but it has now got so bad that the machine cant be used. An internet search indicates it is possibly a ball racer ring and doesnt sound an uncommon issue. A call to Whirlpool resulted in a quote for circa $350 for a service call. Thats a 1/3rd of the original value (includes a 12 month warranty). And its just over a year old!!! We had a problem with the Maytag Neptune that ended in a class action suit and now this replacement machine seems to be even worse. I would recommend anyone to really consider what to buy and give this range a miss.

I owned a Kenmore washer for approx. 20 yrs that endured 6 kids for most of that time period. When time came for a new one, I had to have the latest model, and settled on a Maytag Bravos approx 3 yrs ago. This was a huge mistake - I paid between 600-800 for this machine, and it is a piece of garbage. The repairmen here yesterday explained to me that Maytag and Whirlpool are now the same company, and also that all these machines are now made overseas because of cheap labor. In a nutshell, I was given an estimate of at least 300 to repair this piece of crap - he explained that they are only made to last a few yrs -where is the justice in this situation? I really dont get how these big companies get away with selling crap, knowing all the while that the consumer is getting screwed - yet people continue to buy them..

I purchased Whirlpool only front load compact washer in June 2015 and lasted only a year before the door lock broke and getting F6 error that means mother board to be replaced. Whirlpool warranty department (AIG) did not bother to do a complete repair and offer buy out at a 75% of my purchase price. My five year warranty premium cost was not refunded. I do not recommend this model be purchased by anyone. Whirlpool washes its hands on the quality and reliability of its product in US and that is a shame! A service life the unit should be at least 9 years with affordable maintenance cost.

When I bought my new retirement home, a Whirlpool dishwasher Model No. DU1055XTVS1 had been installed. After only three years of use, the dishwasher would not complete a cycle except to drain and cancel. The repairman replaced a computer board and when the parts cost and the service cost were combined, they amounted to about half the cost of the dishwasher. I have a PC that is twice the age of the dishwasher and it is still running.

Purchased both Cabrio washer (wtw6200sw2) & dyer brand new in 2007 for $1200. Within 4 years the motherboard went out. Whirlpool didnt want to fix it. They said it was past warranty. After many complaints to corporate, they sent someone out to repair it for $496 (they paid). Repairman said these models had motherboards from Japan & Whirlpool was aware of the many issues, but wouldnt do a recall. 2009, the springs went out, 2011 F codes began to appear. Clothes dont get clean; not enough water. 2014 & 2015 DU & DL codes appear. Now I need a new Lid latch assembly. These washing machines are not worth buying. Never again will I buy another Whirlpool!! My mom had an old Kenmore that lasted 20 years and only needed a replacement belt. No more fancy high end washers for me!

We bought a Whirlpool gas range about a year and half ago. The oven started giving lighting problems we had to light with a match every once in a while. Then the broiler igniter started giving same problems so I replaced the igniter, still did not work. Then I tried the control panel, still nothing. The igniters were about 45.00 each. The control panel was 250.00. Then I replaced the spark module and it is now working. Some models the spark module dont control oven and broiler but mine does. That was 200.00. The best thing was the part place I was ordering from would exchange the parts that you try and they also can answer questions either online or by phone, Appliancepartspros.com. My oven model # is wfg371lvs3.

Quiet Partner II - Our dishwasher racks started to crack and rust very quickly, about two years after purchase. We repaired the racks and tines, but the rust got worse. We replaced our dishwasher today with another brand. Many of the tines on the drying rack had rusted and broken off. We have been told to only purchase Nylon racks. I hope this is good advice. I must admit I had no trouble with the machine as far as cleaning my dishes. I just felt the racks should last longer than two years. Cost to replace racks was about the same as replacing the whole machine.

Weve had this washer for about 9 months now. We noticed that the loads being washed small or large werent coming out clean. When wash cycle finished items were covered in soap residue and or had large dry spots where water had never touched the area. When our sheets were washed in bulky/sheet cycle and deep water this happened. Maytag sent out repair person to find the water pump went bad, pump was replaced. After repair same bad washing results as stated previously. Maytag then sent out repair person for the second time. This time the main electrical board was replaced. Still after two repairs wash loads are still coming out dirty, soapy, dry in spots in any of the selected wash cycles large or small. Third call to Maytag and a third scheduled repair date coming up in a few day. Over the phone the Maytag employee only words of wisdom was, Did you buy the extended warranty. So unless there is a third failure I believe that this washer is just a poor design.

I purchased a side-by-side Whirlpool fridge and the ice maker stopped working 2 weeks after I purchased it. The retailer said that I would have to go through Whirlpool to resolve the matter. This has gone on for almost six months now. Ive had two service companies do 7 service calls to fix the problem and today, the 8th service call was supposed to happen and the guy never showed up. The company has lied to me telling me that it will just be one more service call each and every time.I want my refrigerator exchanged for a new one. They are refusing to do so until each service call is completed. I think they sold me a lemon based on the fact that nobody seems to be able to fix the issue. I cant seem to get anywhere with Whirlpool at this point and dont feel that I should have to keep a product that never worked from the start. Help! Is there some kind of lemon law on appliances?

I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly
I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly from Whirlpool through DirectBuy on April 19, 2010. The unit was a relatively high-end model (over $2,000) that came with a 12-month warranty. Thirteen months after purchase and 1 month after warranty expiration, the ice maker stopped working flooding the kitchen in the process. We called Whirlpool who recommended one of their authorized maintenance subcontractors (GuinCo) to appraise the problem. GuinCo came out, diagnosed that a valve in the ice maker had gone bad and the repair cost us $364. We chalked that up to Murphys Law (repair needed immediately after warranty expiration). Not 4 months later, the kitchen comes up flooded again and again and the ice makers not working. We call GuinCo, the repairman come out and said this time that its a heater and ice maker defect which will cost $643 to repair. He also said that the unit has been designated as having a design defect. We held off on the repair until we could contact Whirlpool for some remediation since it has become obvious that the unit is a lemon. I called Whirlpool, laid out the problems, timelines and potential cost (ice maker failures are going to cost us almost half of what the entire refrigerator cost before the unit is a year and a half old) and the only response they had netted out to was: Sorry, you should have had extended warranty. This is a prime example of an American manufacturer, marketing an inferior product and offering the customer nothing when the lack of quality becomes obvious. I will recommend to anyone I know to stay as far away from Whirlpool products as long as I live.

If I had known at the time the problems I was going to experience with this washer, I would never have bought it. I fell for the price. We paid for it. I was very excited about the performance of the washer as far as reduced water usage and reduced electric usage. After about 6 months though, I couldnt figure out why a lot of clothes, sheets and drapes came out with streaks on them. Very expensive to replace! Of course, the business I bought them from tried to get me to buy all types of fixes that had nothing to do with the problem and therefore couldnt answer me why this was happening. I bought two Whirlpool (Model: bfg1j4o4t3nov4o) natural gas water heaters. The pilot light would go out to so I re-lit it and sit in the attic until the water got hot and the burner go out. But before the burner went out, I could see the flame go from blue to yellow and hear the water dripping down on the burner. So, after the burner goes out, the water would drip down on the pilot light putting it out. They sent me a thermo coupling for free but that was never the problem. The problem is that the water heaters are poorly insulated which causes the water to drip down on the pilot, putting it out. To make a long story short, no part they send will fix these heaters. I have a GE heater in my house for 20 plus years and it is still kicking. I should have went back with that same heater. For some good news, I got my money back from Lowes. I raised so much hell in that store that the manger gave me my money back just to get me out of his store. I made them realize that all we want is our hard-earned money back from a product that does not work.

We have had this range in our new home and in use since May, 2019. The first range had to be returned after its first use due to flaking of the interior walls; a problem the company acknowledged. Since then we have been so unhappy with its ability to maintain the oven temperature. Contrary to the instructions, we calibrated the oven temp and found that it would vary up to 20 degrees lower than the set temp. When set to 350, it would come up to that temp and then cut off until it fell to 330 when it would come back up to 350. That is a great differential noticeable in the time it takes to heat an item and which greatly affects baked goods. A similar lack of consistency in control in the range elements is apparent as well. Now those are major defects. Minor defects are: it is NOT a rapid preheat at all, both lights are on when the switch is engaged even though only one oven is in use, there is no clock function when the timer is in use and the range surface is difficult to clean as it streaks which is visible with the black finish.

It is a top loading washing machine as opposed to the newer front loading ones. I have not used a front loading washing machine, so I do not know how it compares to them. I bought a portable Whirlpool dishwasher on Jan.16 2016. We didnt buy extended warranty. After all, it was suppose to be new, should outlive us. It wont drain, my husband took the top off to see if he could fix it since I was told by Sears that no repair person is available in our area. I am only 10 Km from Saint John N.B. He found he couldnt take the front or back off, its all one piece, he is 84 years old. Under the top, it shows different colored screws, which tells us it was a used one or had been re-conditioned. I am very disappointed in Sears, have been a customer for many years. Everything in my house is Kenmore except for the dishwasher, only because they had no Kenmore. I might add that it wasnt used much. Its just two elderly people and only used when we have company. I cant afford another one. I bought this one from 1,000.00 I won on Lotto Max. I am so upset about this. Appliances should last longer. My Kenmores have.

Purchased a new Whirlpool Energy Smart 50 gallon water heater from Lowes to replace our existing old one that had gone bad. Never again!! Had it professionally installed by one of Lowes installers. I have no problem with the installer.... the water heater was a piece of junk. From the first day we had sporadic hot water and to get that you had to have a hot water tap turned on full force. If you turned the tap to a lesser flow you got cold water. Couldnt get a hot shower at all. Contacted Whirlpool customer service 4 times by phone and 3 times by email. Horrible !!!! If I had read all the reviews ahead of time I would never have purchased a Whirlpool water heater. Each time contacting their customer service I was informed I had a plumbing problem... probably a cold water line was feeding into my hot water line??? Really??? After living in this house for 20 years all of a sudden I have a cold water line magically connect itself into my main hot water feed? I even set the temperature up as much as it would go. Could easily hold my hand under the hot water without getting burned. Most of their phone reps sounded like they were reading from a check list sheet and no desire to actually listen to what I was telling them. One even sent me a PDF file via email that had nothing to do with the problem I was describing to them. I finally told them after two weeks of this that I couldnt live with this situation and they said Well our technicians are 38 miles from you and we wont send one that far to check it. Asking what I could do they said Id have to hire someone (they werent able to tell me if I should hire a plumber or electrician) and Id have to pay for it and they would reimburse me. Sensing that this might be a fruitless task I resorted to calling the Lowes store where I purchased it and asked their advice. They offered to send out the original installer to check it out and work with Whirlpool over the phone. Like I said, I have no complaints with the installer, he was fast and professional. I stood there while their technician/customer service had him go through a few tests on the unit. All of that proved nothing except in their minds that nothing was wrong with their unit. He got off the phone and told me They refuse to accept any responsibility for the product being bad. I asked him what was I supposed to do. He got on the phone with the manager of the Lowes store and they agreed to swap it out at no charge to me. I of course was very happy but told them after all of this I didnt want another Energy Smart type water heater and that I didnt trust the electronics at all. He agreed to swap it out for a regular type and give me a credit for any difference in cost. Had this all done in one day and am very pleased with Lowes commitment to customer service. The new heater (still a Whirlpool sad to say) appears to be working fine just like my old one did. So much for it being a problem with my plumbing. After reading all the complaints about Whirlpool water heaters, I guess Im not looking forward to much of a life expectancy with this one and Im certainly not even going to attempt to call Whirlpool customer service if I do. This whole thing cost me $700 and as far as Im concerned Ill flush $700 down the toilet before buying another Whirlpool product. I still would love to know how any person with half a brain could tell me I had a plumbing problem when all that was done was removal of an old water heater and replaced with a new one. Thats two pipes people...cold water in, hot water out. I see that there was some type of class action lawsuit filed against Whirlpool. Maybe they need another one filed or forbidden to sell water heaters ever again.

I was harassed and tortured. I got an extended warranty on Whirlpool microwave oven but from the last six months, I was not able to use it. The original part worked for four years but from the last four months, engineers have tried to change the part and it was a duplicate one every time. It did not last for 15 minutes in front of the engineer. To date, the engineers are still not able to fix my oven so I havent been able to use it for the last four months. Does it mean that Whirlpool make duplicate parts too and just ditch the customer? Is this also included under Whirlpools code of ethics?

We bought a Whirlpool French door fridge model WRF989SDAM00 in 2013 and were impressed by how it looked in our kitchen. Its December 2015 and things have started to go wrong. First the freezer stopped freezing items completely and found out that ice had built up on the cooling tubes inside the rear freezer wall. Had to be taken apart and thawed with a heat gun. Now the freezer freezes on and off and the ice maker is not making ice properly and leaking all over the left side of the fridge. Went to Sears {place of purchase} and we were asked immediately if we had purchased the extended warranty. We hadnt and were told Sears could do nothing and that these newer fridges have a tendency to have trouble within the first couple of years and thats why they recommend the extended warranties. Really a $2500 dollar fridge a couple of years? Had a local appliance repairman look at it and he said the compressor was bad. $500.00 to fix. Boy do I regret buying this thing. These big companies just walk all over us consumers.

I purchased this Whirlpool dishwasher from Sears on 3/25/2010. Then on 8/11/2012 the dishwasher completely failed to operate. I called for service and they checked it out and they found out that the control board had failed due to moisture getting into the electronic components. They replaced the control board & control panel and the dishwasher has worked until today (2/08/2014) - 17 months, and now exhibits the same problem. The original repair costs including labor was over $400. Not really acceptable and demonstrates very poor quality control and design @ Whirlpool. As of now, I am considering whether to purchase a new machine (obviously neither a Whirlpool or Sears product). As part of the original service the soap dispenser also failed and had to be replaced. I believe Whirlpool should be responsible for some of the repair costs.

I purchased Duet washer 3 years ago, but it wasnt installed until a little over a year and a half ago. Machine started making loud noise during spin cycle, and eventually would not spin the water out of the machine. I contacted Whirlpool and was told there was a defect in that particular WP model and if it was confirmed by a provided tech, WP would provide the parts for the repair. The tech confirmed the problem, and I was told the repair would still cost over $450, even with the free parts. When I approached WP and asked them to fix the machine since it was a known defect, it was denied that there was a defect.

I purchased a high-end Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT710PAYM) a few months ago thinking I was making a wise upgrade. Poor design and it wont dry dishes or properly wash utensils when theyre placed in the utensil rack on the door panel. The unit heavily condenses after using heat dry mode and large water droplets completely cover the top of the inside cabinet. Eventually, they all fall down into the dishes and you now have wet dishes again. The Whirlpool tech’s response was to scratch the cabinet plastic with a scratchy pad, smear rinse aid over the plastic cabinet and that should stop droplets from forming. Whirlpool’s customer service told me they shouldve never told me that and what I should do is be there during the drying cycle and open the cabinet door to let the steam out. This is completely ludicrous. Dont walk but run away from Whirlpool products.

Bought this front loader washer. It is unbelievable this thing will not wash a load properly. It refuses to spin at high speed because it is constantly out of balance even if you only have one or two garments and it keeps saying add more garments. As you keep adding garment its even worse literally. If you have anything that is heavy in this like a towel or a pair of pants or a hoodie or something like that for sure youre going to have to wash one thing at a time. I will never buy another one. If this would have happened when we werent home and a fire started and it killed our dogs I have no idea what I would do. Im not even attempting to have the control panel replaced again. Well be buying another brand. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. Sad that I have to file this review! After reading multiple other reviews on all brands available to American citizens, I have come to the realization that cheap labor and materials are creating massive appliance garbage in our country as well as financial rip off for us all. It needs to STOP! What has happened to doing things right!! What company is going to be the first to produce good refrigerators! Paid over $2000 for my side by side and it is only 5 years old and has a freon leak that cant be fixed. Repairman said will have to buy a new refrigerator. Pathetic!! Cheap manufacturing in foreign countries is killing our economy and our household finances. Be prepared to buy NOTHING that works! Yeah, thats what I work hard for and look forward to. Called Whirlpool and they can get us a service man from 8-4 (who waits an entire day these days) on New Years Eve. Next appointment is following week to examine and will fix (if it is their fault and for a fee). The last two dishwashers I purchased lasted 10 and 7 years respectively. Stay away if you dont want bad equipment, uncooperative service, and aggravation. Range I bought was OK but the oven temperature is always off 10-15 degrees from what it says it is. We purchased all major appliances from Whirlpool, to furnish our new home in August 2021. All appliances were white. The top of our gas range began discolouring immediately following the first use. The inside of the four corners immediately began to ware due to heat. I figured Id have time to put my claim in, and thought to see if it got worse. Once I finally had time to deal with the issue, I contacted them only to find out that we only had 30 days from the date of purchase (of which included 3 months of waiting for the products to arrive) to claim the issue, given that it was considered Cosmetic. Easy fix, since theyd simply have to change the top of the stove, but Whirlpool denied our claim. Do not purchase this product, unless youre looking for a sub-standard product and customer service.

Whirlpool and their extended warranty is a ripoff! I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator not even two years ago. It has stopped working 4 or 5 times, causing us to lose all our food. When it is working, it makes an awful noise. I have renewed my contract with A&E due to the fact that the frig is a lemon; which A&E is a joke as well. I contacted them 2 weeks ago about the frig not working again. They stated they could not come until Sept 18th, a month later. Come on. Really. They are a ripoff as well as Whirlpool appliances. False advertising is against the law. I also contacted the merchant where the frig was purchased in Hazlehurst GA, who does not care one way or the other. If whirlpool was as great as they seem to think their appliances are, they would replace this lemon in my kitchen. We are elderly and are not able to keep dealing with this issue. I would never ever recommend a Whirlpool appliance to anyone. As a matter of fact, I will tell everyone I know not to purchase one; due to the way your company has treated me and my wife.

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from both Whirlpool and this unit. I purchased it from a local dealership and paid $881.00 which included tax and delivery cost. In less than 2 years, it broke. Whirlpool does not offer a warranty on the unit. After having a Whirlpool repair person come out for a cost of $75.00, I was informed that the parts to replace would cost $800.00 not counting additional labor cost which was TBD. I contacted Whirlpool and went from Agent (Phylicia) to supervisor (Ashley) to Manager (Carol **). The best offer I was given was to buy the parts at a discount of $400.00 which did not include tax, delivery or labor. So it would have run approx. $550.00 to over $600.00 to fix a $771.00 washer. My next letter is to Jeff Fettig (553 Benson Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022/ CIO of Whirlpool) to let him know how impressed I am with his product and customer service support. I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer set 2 1/2 years ago (Jan. 2009). I have 4 kids and do lots of laundry. This is THE WORST appliance, namely washer, I have ever owned! I so wish I had researched this product more. I ditto everything that has been said about this washer. It tore up so many items of clothing, I lost count and does a horrible job of getting stains out. I contacted Whirlpool on several occasions only to be told that they would send a technician out to see if there was something wrong. The technician would report that the washer was working properly and Whirlpool would then tell me, sorry, we cant do anything about it. I asked them if a washer was supposed to clean your clothes and unravel them? Yes, it is supposed to clean them. Well, its not doing that. No, it is not supposed to unravel and destroy them but well, it IS doing that! Therefore, the washer is not working properly. Just because a technician can not physically find something wrong with it, doesnt mean it is a poor functioning washer. This company should better learn very soon that you must stand behind the QUALITY of your products or you will soon be out of business. I will never purchase Whirlpool products ever again nor would I recommend it to anyone!

I contacted them by phone several times and it took them three months to send someone (A and E sears repair). Two months passed and I did not get the parts necessary or a replacement washer. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. Last year I purchased a Whirlpool washer at the suggestion of a friend who works at Lowes. It was dented and reduced, but my 20 year old Maytag, although still chugging away, was due for replacement. Am I sorry I did! My husband has recently broken his hip and we were caught in Hurricane Matthew just 1 day after I brought him home. We were forced to evacuate. Upon returning with a mountain of laundry, I found my washer lock light blinking although the washer had not been running when we lost power. I tried opening it but could not. I unplugged and reconnected power to no avail. I called customer service only to find we had to wait 2 weeks for a Whirlpool repair person. He arrived yesterday (Oct 26, 2016) and charged $95.00 to tell me this was an almost universal problem with Whirlpools and the company was aware of it. He called this morning to tell me the required part would cost $495.00! The entire washer cost approx. $500. He stated that he thought Whirlpool should have covered the cost as it was not far out of warranty and a known defect, but he could not get Whirlpool to assist financially. I tried calling myself for an explanation of the fact that they knew these machines had a defective part and yet they sold them. I got a song and dance from the rep. Although my husband was unable to help and I am a 65 year old woman, I went out and bought the cheapest machine I could and manhandled it home and connected it. It is afternoon and I am on my 4th load of well overdue laundry, no thanks to Whirlpool. I intend to make this story public through every internet forum I can find. I have a large extended family and friends and I will make sure they do not purchase Whirlpool appliances if they are looking for a good product and good customer service. I will also be sure to never buy a Whirlpool appliance again.

The machine just stops, leaving everything soaked and you basically screwed, you can invoke a spin cycle but to help make rinse and spin out, sooo disappointed. Whats wrong with the designers of this product? They didnt try sheets to see if it would even work. I am far from over loading this too. Dont buy this.

I bought the WTW4815EW0 Whirlpool washer. Worse machine ever! It’s take forever to wash a load, there’s no way it’s efficient when it takes twice as long to wash one load. It doesn’t sense the water level correctly, Its noisy, and after only having it 3 years it crashed on me. I refuse to waste money fixing the piece of junk and when I go to purchase a new one it won’t be a Whirlpool.

Its a front loader and has lots of cycles and temperature to choose from. Its setting on a pedestal so its not too low. I dont like the way the soap is dispensed.. If you still have the door open when you pour it in the dispenser it almost comes out on you. It also knots your clothes up and makes them hard to get out. The rest is good.

I purchased the washer 1.5 years ago. At about 9 months, the latch was in need of replacing. The washer was locked and would not unlock. That was fixed. Fast forward to 1.5 years old and the control board needs replacing. The washer stopped in the midst of a cycle, filled with water. The repairs are over $400 -- nearly the price of a new washer. Ive never had a washer to go out on me. I willingly gave away my previous washer for the purchase of a newer model and did not expect this fiasco. I will recommend against purchasing a Whirlpool washer.

My refrigerator has needed several repairs in the 5 years since purchased new. Several plastic parts (bins, handle, etc...) have cracked and ice maker no longer works. Dont think I would purchase another Whirlpool major appliance if at all possible, as I am deeply dismayed at how this one has held up.

All I ever wanted was a nice refrigerator with the ability to get crushed ice from the door. We bought our refrigerator from Lowes several years ago and have had problems with the ice dispenser ever since. Lowes sent repairmen many times and even replaced the one we purchased with a newer model. Whirlpool refused to replace. The problem persisted and we had to continue calling repairmen. The last straw was when the repairman asked to borrow my hair dryer to help him melt the ice that continuously builds up in the door chute. I stopped going through Lowes and went directly to whirlpool for repairs. Since then I have been told that I should remove the ice box and clean out weekly, be nicer in order to get better help and that my husband should do the talking so that Whirlpool will be more helpful. I am so disappointed. Its been a couple of years since I last called for repairs even though we had the extended warranty. I have to clean the chute daily in order to get crushed ice from the door. Whirlpool knows that their engineers developed an ice dispenser with problems but will not admit it. Their customer service is the worst ever. I will never buy a whirlpool refrigerator again.

It was on sale and the price was good for comparable refrigerators. The biggest problem is that instead of a simple dial to control temperature, you have to be a computer genius to figure out how to turn it to a different temp. even by the instructions. And the ice maker throws ice all over the floor even if you hold the glass up against the top. When I first got it, it made a very loud noise when it run, but that changed with time to a bearable volume. Everything seems to work well other than those few little things.

I purchased the Whirlpool washer with the expectation of having at least clean clothes. In fairness, I do wash some pet items but they are done separately. My clothes at time come out dry in spots because theyve not been touched with water. Forget the balancing issue. What I will have to do is wash, rinse, and repeat. This will be my life until I can get a new washer. Never again Whirlpool.

Purchased this Upright freezer model 160NZTQ02 approximately 2 years ago. Freezer had problems maintaining temperature from the beginning. Noticed it freezing up at air vents in back of interior. Unplugged, removed contents, and let defrost by ambient temperature (approximately 4 hours). After using this method for first three defrost periods (approximately two weeks apart) I began defrosted with hair dryer, then moved on to heat gun. Bottom line is this junk wont hold temperature and freezes up every few days to a week. No more Whirpool for me.

Originally, I loved my machine. At the one year mark, my washing machine began a f51 error code. I looked it up and it had a recall. The entire board had to be replaced. Now, I keep getting a ul code and it will not quit. Also, the inside of the top is rusting out so badly that chunks of rust fall into the washing machine and stain my clothes. I wish Whirlpool would fix these common errors. I see many other people complaining online that the same thing is happening over and over.

This microwave usually has great reviews but I think I just got a dud. I purchased this model (WMH53520CS-0) as part of my new home build. After 9 months the door sensor broke and anytime we would go to run the microwave, it would tell you to open/close the door. Whirlpool sent out a certified factory dealer to fix the problem. They found it to be a faulty control panel and replaced it. After that was replaced, the exhaust fan broke. Whirlpool sent out that dealer again with the new part, and everything was working perfectly. Flash forward a whole 24 hours later, and the microwave would make the loudest sound ever and shut off after 3 seconds and blow the fuse. Turns out the turntable motor had broke and the NEW control panel was already faulty. The turntable motor part was on back order for a month and I am still currently waiting for it to be shipped to me while I have a microwave shut off collecting dust. As most anyone would be, I was extremely frustrated knowing that Whirlpool has spent at least 4 times more sending out certified dealers and replacing parts, than if they were to just order me a new microwave. They stood firm on their policy even if it meant a customer without a working microwave for over a month. Whirlpool did offer me a nice $75 debit card that took 4 weeks to arrive to help pay for a temporary microwave, but they would not work with me when I asked for the warranty to be extended 3 or 6 months. I wanted that peace of mind and its frustrating that for 2 of my 12 month warranty, the microwave was completely broken.Overall, its a nice microwave when its working but with all I have had to go through, I wouldnt recommend this model nor any Whirlpool appliances...

We have a wtw5500xw2 washing machine we bought 03/2012. We can no longer use it. The machine would not spin or agitate so the clothes do not get clean or get the water out and after the cycle is done we have to wring them out after to be able to take them to the laundromat. So two repair companies and 3 months later we find out that it is the wiring harness that is the culprit. After a new motor and a shift actuator, we contacted Whirlpool only to be advised that the washing machine is out of warranty and that we are out of luck. If the company has a known issue about these wiring harness they should be looking into it and changing suppliers or offering to replace the wiring harness at a discount to its customers. I will not be buying a Whirlpool appliance ever again. I would recommend going with a Kenmore. I have had a Kenmore dryer that I got 19 yrs ago that we got used and only had to replace the heating element.

Just like many other reviews about this brand - our microwave went bad after only 14 months of using it. Initially the door sensor would register - it wont operate even if the door is closed. Or it will keep going even if the door is open. I contacted BBB and the Whirlpool corporation regarding this safety issue. I pointed out that the safety mechanism is faulty and they should recall all of those models that have similar issue with door sensor. This is extremely dangerous for households with kids. There is a reason why this safety mechanism is mandatory in all microwaves! Whirlpool pointed out to me that I should not try to operate microwave with open door and refused to take any responsibility. Ive owned probably 10 different microwaves over the years and NEVER had micro go bad after only one year, yet alone have completely faulty safety mechanism. Consumer beware!

The smell from the washer has gotten so bad we have to keep the door closed to our laundry room, or the smell will permeate the whole front part of the house, as it is we have to keep the door to garage which is adjacent to laundry room open to air out laundry room. Our friends and guests, are aways telling us we have water leak or something mildewing, or rotting in our house. The washer works well, and I cant find any buildup. We frequently run it through clean washer cycle, it smells OK for a hour or two, and odor returns!

Whirlpool Gold refrigerator WRF989SDAH00. I purchased this French door refrigerator based on past experiences with Whirlpool and sad to say this is not the same quality product I have know Whirlpool for. After the warranty ran out, it died. The first service company I called identified the problem as a known (to Whirlpool) design flaw. They would not touch it and referred me to contact Whirlpool. I did and the company referred me to Dinos Appliance Factory Service (in Phoenix AZ). They came out and confirmed it was a design flaw. They replaced the evaporator and compressor and it lasted about 6 weeks.

I purchased a Whirlpool cabrio mod. wtw5840bwo washing machine in Oct. of 2014. As of June 2015 I am ready to kick it to the curb. The washer works to it design and hasnt broke down but it doesnt clean our clothes. We load the machine, add the right amount of clothes and recommended detergents and 1hr later after the wash cycle is completed, the clothes still stink with the smell of daily perspiration. I went back to using our old washer that has a worn out agitator. It does a better job.

I have had this front loader for 5 or 6 years. My clothes absolutely stick, I cant stand the smell of them. I have used Affresh, the recommended cleaner 3 days in a row, multiple cycles, no improvement. I did the vinegar treatment, leave the door open etc. What is upsetting is I have read Whirlpool has been aware of the mold and mildew problems of front loaders yet continue to manufacture them. The gasket in the front enclosure pockets at least a cup of water and other gunk from the wash. A waste of money!!!

My model - GB9FHDXWD06 - is one of only a very few that fits our space. However, it has failed three times in 5 years: 1) A faulty defrost drain tube that was replaced under warranty, 2) A jammed vent flap that caused the freezer to fail, and 3) a burned-out control panel (an expensive repair). It is also annoyingly noisy and middling at energy efficiency. The coils are in a very narrow space below the refrigerator, which makes them a bear to clean. And, the plastic front plate that must be removed for cleaning breaks far too easily. On the good side, it is a bottom freezer model (which is far better for convenience), the space-wasting ice maker was very easy to remove, the glass shelves, removable baskets, and drawers are easy to clean, and the auto-defrost works very well (after the recall update, number one, above). Temperature uniformity is good and the freezer maintains below 0° very well. Overall, it is a good looking appliance with mediocre efficiency and poor reliability. Not recommended.

I apparently am one of the lucky ones to have an electric water heater. My unit started giving me failure codes during the Christmas holidays. Each time it would fail, I would get a different failure code indicating the upper element, the lower element, and a sensor failure. After testing all 3 of these components, it was determined to be a controller issue. After speaking with Chris on the phone, he overnighted a new controller to me. I installed the new controller and had no more failures. Hot showers for New Years! Thank you Chris.

Manufacturer refuses to acknowledge quality issues. This is not exclusive for the washer or dryer, IT IS BOTH! P.S. I owned & operated a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer for 6+ years before up-sizing & loved them! I was grossly misled by the retailer to believe the new Cabrio washer & dryer were the same as the previous model of Cabrio. They are not. Their performance is subpar. Not what I would expect from top of the line. Washer does not spin out as dry as the previous model. It will not show error codes on display so I can deal with the issue at hand-it just shuts down. Dryer sensors do not work properly. It will not dry, or overdries to the point of shrinking clothing beyond use. This $2800 purchase is continuing to cost me money. I have never been more upset with a purchase than this. I have to babysit these machines. There is a bolt in the back wall of the dryer drum. Hence my destroyed brand new hand crocheted afghan. Oh and did I tell you that their licensed repair man told me that I should not be laundering bedding in my machines at home? Apparently there are no home use machines on the market that are able to wash bedding. Sheets. Pillowcases. All of it needs to go to a commercial laundromat. Ha! Makes a person question who we let in our home. If you would like a positive - its huge. But wont spin out a small load effectively.I have recommended and led to sale of dozens of the previous Cabrio model. I will no longer be standing behind this model or company after the poor customer service. Their answers are scripted. Its like speaking to a robot. No one is accountable anymore. I could understand if I did not know how HE machines worked or even the Cabrio model, but I loved my previous HE CABRIO FOR 6+ years!! Excuse me while I go vomit.

Our dishwasher stopped working after 13 months. We are a family of 2 and use it once a week. We called Whirlpool and were told since it is past 12 months, they would do nothing but give us the name of a repairman in the area. We called our own repairman and $120 later, the sensor that had malfunctioned was replaced. Quite costly on a $450 dishwasher. Now, after 15 months, the handle on the lower broiler portion of my Range has come off and the screws will not hold because the plastic around them deteriorated. I just called customer service once again, knowing what I would be told and YES was told So sorry, nothing we can do. A new handle will be $45 plus shipping. We bought the refrigerator at that same time and every day, I wait for this appliance to have issues. In summary, Whirlpool/Maytag appliances are obviously made to be disposable after 12 months. They do not stand behind their products and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I have a double door bottom freezer refrigerator manufactured by whirlpool. It is less than 2 years old and is an absolute piece of garbage! In less than a year the noise started, then the freezer became a refrigerator and my frozen stuff melted. I had a local technician come in and he fixed it but he indicated that the fix would not likely correct the problem. Sure enough, about 6 months later the same problem started all over again. Nowadays one is never sure where a product is manufactured. However, if Whirlpool had their products made by chimpanzees in the jungle they would be better than the pieces of trash they are now selling!

I have had the machine pair (Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum) for almost 4 years and up until a few months ago I LOVED the washer. I was advised when I bought the machine to make sure to read the manual, which was very helpful in learning to use it properly. I have never had residue on my dark clothing or ever had the clothes come out partially dry. I use liquid HE detergent nothing powder goes in the machine. I also read many reviews before buying it and a got some advice from them. I have washed king size comforters with no problems. Everything has always cleaned very well. The only issues I have are that when bleach was used in a previous cycle. Ive had a problem with the bleach not being fully dispensed and ending up in the next load. Fortunately it was just towels and not darks!!! Although, I had just bought the towels and now they look tie died which was very upsetting to me. I learned to add water to the bleach dispenser to dilute it and that issue seemed to dissipate. BUT NOW... I COULD THROW A TANTRUM. I PAID 1800+ FOR THE PAIR AND THE WASHER IS SHOT!!! A pretty common problem with the Cabrio from what Ive read. It started by making a very loud noise when spinning, like a helicopter was landing in my laundry room! I continued using it, I even thought the sound was getting better after I did the clean cycle. The last load I did would not complete the cycle because it kept reading that it was unbalanced and unfortunately it was a load of heavy wet towels. I was far from happy when I had to remove them and go to a Laundromat. Needless to say its the bearings and to fix its very costly. I cant even fathom that a less than 4 year old machine needs to be repaired and the cost is roughly half of what I paid for it!!! I do know I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool. What happened to making things to last??? Next machine I will definitely get extended warranty. I can honestly agree with all the other reviews... THIS MACHINE IS HORRIBLE!!!
