My Cabrio is only 4 years old and it stop working properly. I call a service technicians to repair it and after aol $45 service charge level, he tells me that it has a Motor capacitor defect at a cost of $360 to repair. So I have paid useless piece of junk. I out and purchased another washer only $150 more than the repair. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. My last washer a Maytag (before Whirlpool bought them out) lasted over 20 years. So if you do not want to buy a new $600 washer every 4 years. Stay clear of Whirlpool.

I bought the Cabrio Platinum Set approximately 3 yrs ago. These is the worst products I have bought ever. The dryer didnt dry properly since day 1 w/the energy saver setting. I have always had to run a time dry in order to get properly dried clothing. Sometimes things still come out damp. The washer well the washer as I said the WORST product EVER. Approximately 3 yrs old and it leaks all over my laundry room unless surrounded by towels to suck up the water. During the wash it has the worst smell ever. And while spinning it jumps around and is so loud, you can hear it all through my 3 story home. We have complained we have written, emailed, called and have been offered nothing. I can honestly say I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again ever. The least they could do is stand by their product. For the price of this set it should have lasted much much longer. I had a Kenmore washer and dryer set that we bought it was not even top of the line I would say probably a cheaper model of theirs that lasted 10+ yrs we bought it brand new and my friend bought it when I changed to a front loader which by the way was one of the cheaper ones but was still better than this piece of **. It started breaking about 1 yr after we bought it. We have already fixed a few things but will not spend another dime on it. Now its not even cleaning. I now have to buy yet another washer. From what I have read either Whirlpool needs to up their game or just go out of business.

I purchased a range and refrigerator from Whirlpool and have had nothing but problems with them ever since. Ive only had the range for years and (2) of the top burners are no longer working. Again, the refrigerator is only 5 years old and its handle has broken 5 times. I have needed to replace the handle every year that Ive owned the refrigerator. Whirlpool only offered a (1) years warranty for these faulty appliances and then immediately started to bug me about purchasing an extended warranty. I guess they knew that their junk would hold up, so they started pushing a warranty. Finally, their customer service while apologetic, are very robotic and appeared to have heard my complaint before. So, SAVE YOURSELF SOME AGGRAVATION AND PURCHASE ANOTHER BRAND. For if you dont heed my warning just know that youve been warned.

I have used Whirlpool products for over 30 yrs. This is the worst made product I have ever purchased. The ice maker doesnt produce very much ice. The cold water on door isnt cold. There is too much wasted space in freezer and refrig. side. You cannot get anyone to call you back to call for help. I contacted Whirlpool over a month ago. No return call yet. Consumers beware!! Purchased 9/23/2013 on 5/20/2014 no hot water. Called Whirlpool, unit has a 6 yr warranty. Brian advised me no one close to our area to service. He told me to contact a local plumber, they would pay for parts and $75.00 in labor. I attempted a couple of calls and could not find a plumber that was willing to come out and let us pay just the difference, after parts and $75.00 in labor and them bill Whirlpool for the remainder. They wanted between $225.00 and $300.00 plus parts. Lowes where we purchased the water heater told me to call Whirlpool back and get an RA# and they would be happy to exchange the water heater. I called Whirlpool and they (Leigh) refused but did say they would pay 200.00 in labor plus the cost of parts. The unit was only $231.23, but they would rather pay upwards of $300.00 than just let us get a new one. I asked Leigh if this made sense to her, she said it did. I guess Im just ignorant because it doesnt make sense to me. Whirlpool COULD NOT even find a plumber that would come out to our small town to do repairs under their OUTSTANDING WARRANTY. I have laughed at these people and cried over this whole situation. I can honestly say I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product and will let everyone I know and even some I dont know (lol) how horrible this experience has been.

I recently had the bake sensor go bad on my Control Panel of our Whirlpool Gold AccuBake Oven with microwave. Not a problem correct? WRONG! While the Whirlpool people were very professional in helping me (a shout out to them), the part I received was the wrong color. It was white; they called it a biscuit color. My oven is black. I have no idea what Whirlpool actually calls that color. Anyway, in my visit with them, I was informed the black control panel has been discontinued. Am I the only person that has a black control panel? This $280.00 part is now going to cost approximately $3,000.00 to replace the entire unit. Is there anyone that can direct me to where I can find a black replacement control panel? Way to take care of your customers Whirlpool. Solve this and I will give you a great shout out.

My microwave came with my house. I didnt choose it but it has been a great brand. I love the preset timers for defrosting & for popcorn. Its big enough to handle an 8x8 pan which was important to me. The turntable could be more stable. My model is a built in over the oven option. Black & digital. It has lots of preset options & is pretty user friendly. I like the size & it is super quiet.

We bought the WDF330PAHB1 Whirlpool Dishwasher from Lowes last year. It is a terrible dishwasher. It does not wash or dry the plastic dishes well and has a continued foul spoiled milk smell despite many cleanings with dishwasher cleaning tablets. I use Cascade and Finish rinse aid. My china and glassware are fine and it is a quiet unit but this gook I have to keep cleaning up is gross. I clean the removable filter and screen 2-3x a week but the stuff gets on and in every place it can cling to. Its a greasy, smelly muck. Its in both water jets, so I have to constantly remove them and bang the stuff out. We pre-rinse our dishes (which Ive never had to do before) but still this slime keeps building up. Do not buy this machine. I wish I could give mine back!

We moved to the mountains of Florissant, CO mid November of 2012. The home we bought needed some renovations. In February of 2013 we bought three Whirlpool appliances from Best Buy before we were ready to. Renovated our kitchen, because they were having a great sale. That was our first mistake. The appliances had to be ordered, and it took a while for all of them to finally come in. We had no idea that it snows up here until almost mid June, and Best Buy wouldnt be able to deliver the appliances until June.We had hired a contractor to renovate the kitchen and had given him half of the money. To make a long story short, he took our money, wouldnt come do the job, but wouldnt give us our money back. Finally did part of the work and never came back again. He sent someone else to do the rest of the job, but he was not licensed, did horrible work that needed to be torn out and be completely redone, yet demanded to be paid for what he did. We ended up in a lawsuit and couldnt hire anybody to finish the kitchen until the lawsuit was settled. By the time the kitchen was finished the refrigerator was already out of warranty.Within days of the refrigerator being plugged up ice began to form at the top back part of the refrigerator. I called Best Buy and over the phone they told me what it was. The refrigerator had been poorly designed. A tube that ran up the back and across the top of the refrigerator to the ice maker created a lot of condensation and was causing ice to form. The Geek Squad representative said that Whirlpool had been aware of the design flaw and had created a kit to fix it. It consisted of insulation, a blower, and maybe a different type of tubing. Anyway, Best Buy said that Whirlpool was responsible for this repair and that it was around $400 and a $100 trip charge, so were talking $500 plus. Since the refrigerator was no longer under warranty with Best Buy I was advised to call Whirlpool since the problem originated in the factory and came like that.I called Whirlpool and they lied and told me there was nothing in their computer system about this design flaw. I called Best Buy back, and they said that Whirlpool had sent something to them about it via the computer and that it was definitely in their system. I called Whirlpool back in July of 2014 and tried to escalate it, but only got the runaround. Now they admit that a recall was done, which had to be in their system, but said that there are two different types of recall. One type is a recall for something that could be dangerous to human life. That type of recall they will take financial responsibility for. Then there is what they call an inconvenience recall. They do not take financial responsibility for anything that falls under that category. For inconvenience recalls, they apparently only contact the companies that have sell their products are contacted, so that they are aware of potential problems that may need to be addressed by their maintenance departments. I feel that a decent, honest responsible company should be willing to take responsibility for things they know were wrong with their product before it ever left their factory or warehouse. Now the freezer isnt working. I called and complained because I thought it was connected to the original problem. All Whirlpool offered to do was to sell me an extended warranty for $319. Its with a company called Assurant, but when you call them they answer as Whirlpool Extended Warranty Program. They told me this would cover the original problem, whatever is wrong with it now, and anything that goes wrong in the next year. I was also promised to not have to put out another dime, so I bought it. Assurant was suppose to set the repair up and pay for it.After almost a week of not hearing from them I called. They informed me that they couldnt find anybody who was qualified to come up here and work on it. I asked them why they didnt call Best Buy. They said it wasnt their policy. I was informed that I was to find someone on my own and have the repairman call them with an explanation of what was wrong with it and the repair cost. If they approved it, then I was to pay for all of the repairs in advance, and they would reimburse me. I had a fit, but they told me that I would either do it that way or the extended warranty would be canceled, and they would just reimburse me the $319 I had paid for the extended warranty.I called Best Buy. They sent a repair man out. He found that the coil at the back of the freezer was covered in a block of ice. He took a blow dryer and thawed it up. He said to put something in the freezer that would freeze it to see if it went back to working properly. He gave us his cell phone number and told us to call him the next day to let him know. In the meantime he was going to contact Whirlpool to see what would have caused that. Well, nothing froze. He called us later and said that Whirlpool had informed him that the coil probably had something that was causing a blockage. It was either a piece of trash that had gotten into the coil at the factory or a bend in the coil, which had to have occurred at the factory; because its inside a closed unit. The repairman said that Best Buy never goes into a closed unit to try to repair it, because they are not qualified, but that if they were it would still cost me a fortune to have that done. He said that Best Buy just replaces the refrigerator, but thats only when its under their warranty. The repair man told me the bill to fix the condensation problem was going to be about $550, and that was before the coil problem was ever discussed. I asked him to call Assurant and tell them everything he told us. He did, and was told there were options to escalate it to the next level. He gave me the phone number. I called it and talked to a representative who told me what the notes in their computer system said. Basically it said to give me my $319 back. Then I was given a phone number to Whirlpool, because I demanded to escalate it.I called the number she gave me. The Whirlpool representative asked me why I hadnt called Sears and offered to call them for me but told me I would be responsible for all the repairs, and that they would not be financially responsible for anything in any way. The guy kept putting me on hold and was apparently getting advice from someone higher in authority.I had already been told that no one in Colorado Springs would go into a closed system to repair that refrigerator, because of the labor and costs. I asked this guy if he just didnt believe the Best Buy repairman or what. There is no telling what Sears will charge me to give me a second opinion. Best Buy has offered to reimburse me for their diagnostic trip up here. If Sears finds the same thing, Im sure they wont reimburse me their trip charge because it didnt come from there. This refrigerator was regularly $2,600. I got it on sale for $2,000 plus sales tax. I cant sell it like it is, I cant get it fixed, and its too big to use as an anchor. In other words, its cost me $2,000 to use this refrigerator for two years, and I have nothing to show for it. You may be saying that I should have bought an extended warranty from Best Buy when I bought it, but that wouldve only taken care of the condensation problem. We wouldve ended up with an unfixable freezer problem anyway. That wouldnt have changed a thing. That extra year warranty would have expired by now.Whirlpool products are inferior, and Whirlpool doesnt take responsibility for their mistakes. They are no better than some of the car companies that have been on the news lately. Take my advice, dont buy Whirlpool products and dont ever be stupid enough to buy their extended warranty. I will never buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live, and if you have any sense, you wont either.

Ice maker stopped making ice. This side by side Whirlpool refrigerator was purchased 4 years ago. We called Whirlpool. An authorized repair man identified the problem. At the bottom hinge of the freezer door two of the wires have been broken. A defective design, but no recall from Whirlpool. The solution is to replace the entire freezer door for a cost of $1200. Ridiculous that a replacement door cost more than the purchase price from Lowes. It would appear that these 2 wires could be reconnected, but Whirlpools only solution is an entire new door. Automakers stand behind their products with recalls, but its not the same with Whirlpool. Love my Whirlpool range, washer and dryer, but this counter depth side by side is a real loser.

I purchased a Duet Dryer less than a year ago and it stopped working. Got the warranty people to send someone to diagnose it. The repair person ordered two parts to fix it (they took the control panel off the order for some reason). They sent a second inept person to try and install the part they did send and it did not work (He was the most condescending person I have ever met but that is another story.). Of course it did not work and they actually have to replace the control panel AND the electrical panel (which as you know was ordered by the original tech, but taken off the order by who knows?). Now they are telling me that the part that they should have ordered 2 weeks ago is on back order until sometime in May. All I am getting from Whirlpool is lip service and they honestly do not care one tiny little bit that I have a dryer under warranty that will not have been working now for close to six weeks. This is unacceptable business practices. For the record I bought the unit at LOWES and they too refuse to stand behind the product. Basically told me tough they have nothing to do with it. I also purchased an $8000 Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) Refrigerator 5 years ago and the control panel went out about 4 years later. They stopped making the part and I have to THROW away an $8000 refrigerator because they dont make the part for it. As evidenced above, Whirlpool products do not stand the test of time and when they do break (even under warranty), they cannot fix them in a timely manner or at all in the case of the refrig (not under warranty). I caution every reader of this diatribe to choose wisely WHERE you purchase your appliances and carefully select a brand other than Whirlpool (and its brand affiliates of Kitchenaid, Jenn-air, Amana and certain Kenmore products).

First, I was put on hold by the first female for 44 minutes, and then a second woman finally answered, and said she didnt know why she would send me to her, because she was in the sales department, and she put me on hold for another 25 minutes. I finally had to go, because I had an appointment. When I got home, I called back, and got a man by the name of John, and at least he recommended he could schedule a repairman. The problem I told him is, the inside wall of my refrigerator has 2 cracks on the side, and a crack on the back wall. I dont want a repairman to come, just to tell me he cant put 2 new walls inside of my refrigerator. I could not find an email, so I could email Whirlpool about this problem, and definitely, they were of no help. I bought the refrigerator at Lowes late 2003. I have never, in my life, seen the inside walls of a fridge do this. I spent a lot of money for this, for it to crack on the inside walls. It does not seem like something is right with this.

I purchased a 40 gallon water heater at Lowes and installed about 3 years ago. A couple of weeks ago, it got an upper sensor failure code on the gas valve. It would heat by resetting (turning valve off, waiting a minute and then lighting) but after a few minutes, it would fail again. I called the customer service and they mailed out a new upper sensor. When it came a few days later (I paid for shipping), I installed it but the same failure code. Again, the only heat I could get was by resetting the valve several times before a shower. I called customer service again, told them what I did and they said, Oh, the problem is the gas valve then. So they mailed out a new gas valve unit. It then came a few days later and I installed it according to the enclosed directions to the letter. Still got the failure code and still had to keep resetting it to get any warm water before a shower.I called customer service again, told them what I did and he said, Well, did you flush the water heater with apple cider vinegar before you installed the new gas valve? I said, No, it wasnt in the enclosed directions to do so. He said, You should have done that and it would have worked. I will send out a new gas valve. At this point, I blew up. Two weeks with no reliable hot water. I told him I want a new water heater and he refused. I asked to speak to his superior. He said no. Dont ever get a Whirlpool product. Some other crappy company builds these turds.

The tech came and said we needed a new control panel. We waited 3 weeks for the panel. He came on 3-24-17. He put the part in. Took less than 10 min and said, All set. I went downstairs and put a few things in. I was a bit leery and the machine started. I went back upstairs and I hear beeping. I go back down and the machine is flashing again. I called the repair people they said, Unplug it for 10 min. It may reset itself. If it doesnt, call back. It didnt. I called back and wanted me to wait till the following week. I told her I had clothes in there.Someone came the next morning and said it needed a harness and they would order it. Well its the 28th and I havent heard anything. I have called whirlpool several times with no satisfaction. We had the machine less than a year and its been dead for 2 months. I am disabled. I have multiple sclerosis so every day is a new issue. I hate to put that in here but I want you to know what Im dealing with along with a dead washer. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

If you are thinking of buying any Whirlpool products, please think twice. We had a dishwasher, lasted 2 years; range with cook-top, within 2 years computer had to be replaced and again in another 2 years. Needless to say we did not replace either one with a Whirlpool. Over the range Microwave Oven Magnetron blows in 5 years. 3 months over the warranty. In a call to Whirlpool we were told we are sorry you have had all this trouble, we will send a repair man out and he can replace the parts needed. Thanks, but no thanks and went out and purchased a Samsung model, probably cheaper than the repairs would have cost us. There are so many good appliances to choose from. Please stay away from any Whirlpool products, no need for additional aggravation.

The Whirlpool washer and dryer I bought new four years ago has been nothing but a giant on-going headache. No end to the error codes for washing machine. The dryer knobs broke off after two years. The washing machine works only when it feels like it, and important pieces that get a lot of wear are made of plastic. I will never buy Whirlpool again. Ever. Good luck to anyone that is brave enough to buy Whirlpool appliances. I have to say it again: Whirlpool is garbage, junk and unreliable.

I see that I am not the only one with the same pilot problem. I just purchased this new model that came out last summer. I bought my new water heater in September and just this past weekend, it messed up. I have not had it for 8 months. Whirlpool sent out a technician yesterday and he said the assembly is not good and the pilot would not light. Well they sent me a replacement part and they are coming out today to install it. The funny thing was that the technician said, Oh, these are hard to work with. We have a lot of problems with these models and they just came out last summer. Its the on that has the little box and you push the pilot button in and hold it until the red light comes on. Anyway, he said he didnt carry parts for that one, only the old ones which last longer. The ones that have the black round circle that looks like a thermostat. I said, Really? Well the reason I bought this water heater is because my last one that I bought 2 years ago kept having the same issue. Whirlpool sent me the assembly with the pilot and all 3 times and would never replace it. I got tired of it always messing up so after having it for 2 years, we just dumped it and went and bought this new model. Here we are 8 months since we bought it and the same thing is happening. I am so furious. I am pissed off that they dont recall these if they are defective. Why do they keep selling them if people have problems? My cousin called me a couple of months ago and asked if my husband could check her water heater and its the same type I had and it was doing the same thing. I will never buy another Whirlpool water heater again.

Whirlpool Cabrio, H2 washer system type 588 01, serial # c0303 10 - We have been in our condo 5 years. The washer & dryer was here and new when we moved in. I have been displeased with it from the start. It takes forever to wash through a load, and the clothes are just as dirty after being washed as before. I soaked some whites in Clorox overnight and ran through using Tide and Downy. Then the stains and dirt were still there. I ran them again it was not any better. I had a professional from Hagadorn come. They could not find anything wrong. It cost us about $100.00. Others in our area have the same complaint. I have never been satisfied with this wash. It just does not get the clothes clean. Please help!!!

Sort of live with it attitude. The funny part is when we have someone visiting and the knocking starts, they are puzzled as to why we are not answering the door. Sounds like someone knocking on the front door. We have been whirlpool customers for 30 years. Probably will not be so in the future. Refrigerator was purchased in March 2015. Icemaker filled the basket two times then never worked properly again. The water would enter the tray, freeze, but never drop the cubes. In order to drop the cubes, we had to unplug the refrigerator for a moment then we would have those few cubes. We used one service company sent by Whirlpool that came 3 times, adjusted temp, and replaced one electrical part. It didnt work. The repairman was going to call for support from Whirlpool to see if anyone else had had this problem. I didnt hear back from him until I called him 1 1/2 weeks later. He basically said there was nothing else he could do. Whirlpool sent out another service company. He replaced 2 electrical parts. They didnt work. We have no choice but to keep having service men come out and try to repair the refrigerator. What happens when the warranty has expired? They are trying to sell me an extended warranty. Give me a break. It would be nice to have a working refrigerator first. I wish I would have read these reviews before I ever bought a Whirlpool. Im 78 and Im still learning. Never again, Whirlpool. Ill spread the news as well because we all work too hard for our money to throw it away on poor products.

So I called back and accepted but after getting off the phone looked online and found a washer that would be delivered on May 28th and it was just delivered no problem but now no one at WHIRLPOOL can find the subbed order to cancel and give me my refund from the out of stock washer... Water began accumulating on the floor, dripping out of the freezer 16 month
Water began accumulating on the floor, dripping out of the freezer 16 months from installation. Upon investigating I found the bottom of the freezer had a solid sheet of ice on it. Water was dripping out from the back of the freezer and collecting until it froze. I followed a YouTube video that explained the problem, the freezer drain clogs. The video continued with a how-to dismantle the freezer to defrost the drain and drain the water. Apparently the drain is too small and the fix is a new grommet which costs approximately $27.00. I followed the YouTube video and TEMPORARILY fixed the trouble myself. This is a Whirlpool defect, aka, poor design. What is Whirlpool offering to customers to permanently solve this problem at no cost?

I wish I had gone on this website and read the reviews before I bought my washer about two years ago. I thought the Whirlpool Cabrio was going to be a good machine because of the brand name and because it is one of the more expensive washers. Like many others have said, I am disappointed with this washer. I bought it because it has a large capacity, but mostly because it has a hand wash cycle and a deep water soak. I have found that the only cycle that actually may get clothes clean is the Bulky Items cycle, because it actually covers the clothes in water. Some of the other cycles dont even get the clothes entirely wet. And the deep water soak doesnt wash the clothes, rinse them, or spin them dry. I might as well pre-soak clothing in my laundry tub, and then put them in the machine to wash them. Prior to this machine, I had a Maytag Neptune front loader, which did alright, but it had a few problems. I am ready to go back to the inexpensive agitator machine my mother used to have, if anyone still makes them. They at least got the clothes clean, and you could soak clothing if you wanted to. Im sorry that I bought this expensive washer. I wish I had bought a relatively inexpensive, simple machine. One good thing about this machine though is that I was able to wash a sleeping bag on the Bulky Items cycle. So, I didnt have to take the sleeping bag to the laundromat. Whirlpool needs to improve this machine or go back to the drawing board and create a new one.

I took the Sears salesmans suggestion and bought a high-end quiet dishwasher. It worked wonderfully until it sprung a major leak. Computer told me the phone # to call. It took a week for the Sears repairman to come out and $79 fee to just look at it. He said the fitting between the sump and the pump came off and flooded water over the electric motor. Electric motor is shot! Cost to repair is over $400 and a 3-week wait!!! When and if a new motor is installed, only then do we know if the computer is also fried. This was a high-end dishwasher. Factory warranty just ran out. Repairman said this is a common problem with this model. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio in 3/09 from Lowes for $1000. Like many of you, we thought we were purchasing a quality product that we would use for many years. I never thought my clothes were getting clean, but I thought it was just because I wanted to see them floating in water. Its been 3.2 years and now were plagued with the code F51. Whirlpool is definitely aware of the many problems with these machines. They are also, obviously, unconcerned about the problems we are experiencing. Whirlpool will never stand behind their products if they dont have to. Please go online and write reviews everywhere you can. If we warn people and cause Whirlpool to lose a few dollars, they just might decide to stop selling junk. I plan on starting with all the stores in my area.

We purchased Whirlpool sports model on 2/1/2011. We faced a problem with the motor in a month’s time. The service man told that there are fluctuations in the power so it went wrong. They replaced it after 15-20 days’ time. We also complained that it’s making noise and then he told that we should keep it on the stand. We did so, even then, it’s still noisy. Now about 3 weeks back, suddenly it stopped working during the wash. I never overloaded the washing machine. We complained to the dealer. The mechanic came and told that we had to replace some parts and he will get in a couple of days, but he never turned up. When we contacted the dealer, he said that the parts were unavailable and he will send them in a couple of days. I am fed up of that answer. We could have purchased IFB instead of this.

In 2007, I purchased two 30 gal. Whirlpool Flame Lock water heaters (Model: FG1F3030T3NOV) from Lowes for two different homes that I own. I started having trouble with one of them after about two months. I replaced the thermocouple several times, with each one working only about a month. After that, Lowes replaced the complete burner assembly and that, so far, fixed the problem. Now, the second one has (1 Oct 11) gone out. The local Lowes told me that they are out of the burner assembly for this water heater. I called them this evening and was told that they didnt know when they would have the part, but to call back about every other day to see if they had received the burner assembly for this water heater. They said that it could be from two days to two weeks before they may receive this part!In 2008, I also purchased a 40 gal. WRF989SDAB00 - Our house burnt down in April 2012. We purchased all Whirlpool products to be put back into our house. We had to purchase these items in November 2012 so the contractor could get them into our house because of the cabinets. We did not move into our house until the last week of December and could not use these items until then. In December of 2013, our freezer went out along with the ice maker. I had to fight for Whirlpool to pay for these repairs. They kept saying that it was over the one year warranty. They did accept responsibility and paid for A&E to come look at the frig. One guy came out the first time and thought he fixed it. No. A month later two guys came out. They said it was the condenser. They ordered the parts and came back a third time to replace it. A month and a half later, same problem. A&E came out a fourth time and thought they fixed it again. Nope. During this period, I purchased a extended service plan. I AM TELLING EVERYONE TO DO THIS NOW BECAUSE IT TAKES 60 DAYS FOR THIS PLAN TO TAKE EFFECT. Now the service plan people sent a different company out and he said it is going to cost a lot of money because the things that need to be replaced. The plan SHOULD cover all of this. I called both the service company and Whirlpool demanding that they send us a replacement frig. I believe sending someone out at least SIX TIMES to fix the same problem is ridiculous. Each company is blaming the other and each is saying its the others responsibility to replace the frig.

Like many other reviews Ive read here this morning, I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio HE Top loading washer before I did my homework. I purchased approximately 2 years ago. While I dont seem to have the volume of complaints Ive read from others, I do have many intermittent complaints. As others have described, from day one I have gone from this uneasy feeling about how it is working to down right POd about the condition of my clothes after a load finishes.List of issues you will avoid by buying a different product: 1. Water levels SO low your clothes dont get clean. Yes Whirlpool, thank you for trying to save me $$ by lowering my water bill, but for goodness sake there should be enough water in the damn tub to cover the load. I literally watch dry clothing twist back and forth and NEVER go out (like they claim) to the edge of the tub and under then back up in the center. Instead they just sit there watching from the edge while the poor items of clothing in the center get twisted together.2. Powdered detergent, even if listed as HE will not dissolve in this low water level and will end up as white patches of film on your dark clothes. Suggestion to avoid this - dont use powdered detergent, but even if you use liquid HE detergent, you may still experience white patches of soap film on your clothes. It happens on all of them but shows up clearly on dark clothes. Setting the washer to always do a 2nd rinse cycle will improve the outcome. Not a perfect solution since the point of a low water washer is to use LESS water and not more by running a 2nd rinse on all your loads.3. No Consumer/User options to allow you to use the washer as you see fit. Since I paid a small fortune for this stupid washer and didnt realize that I would never again be able to dye fabric in my washer I am posting this as a warning to other crafty consumers. DONT BUY THIS WASHER if you ever want to dye fabric or an article of clothing larger than underwear. There is absolutely no setting on the washer cycles that will fill the tub with more than a few inches of water. The washer falsely has a mislabeled setting called Deep Water Soak. This is absolutely a LIE. Good thing I tested the cycle before putting my blanket in there to dye it. The cycle spins many times in the beginning pouring water into the clothes, then empties the tub and does it again. Then after 10 minutes into the cycle it begins to fill (if you want to call it that) the tub. After putting about 3 inches of water in the tub - not even enough to cover the top of the articles in the tub (I used 6 towels as my test subjects) it stops to soak. But stuff is still sticking up out of the water!!! OMG! So frustrating. This would not do for dyeing anything of value as you would not be able to agitate enough to ensure coverage of the fabric evenly with dye. Just dont buy this washer if you have, as I have in the past, enjoyed changing the color of linens and re-dyeing dark clothing that have faded! Whirlpool clearly didnt care about how consumers actually need to use the washer. I may try using this setting by pausing and filling it manually with buckets of hot water from my sink to get enough water in there to cover the fabric. Its just ridiculous that I even have to consider how to outsmart my washer!4. Smelly clothes. Seriously. I do the obligatory monthly Affresh cleanings, and I have learned to leave the lid open after the last load of clothes so the tub can air dry. However, I still from time to time pull a load out of the tub and it smells like mildew. And dont think for one second that the smell will go away when dried. I have opened the dryer and pulled clothes out, smelled the mildew and put them right back in the washer for a 2nd go round. Nothing worse than putting on a clean nightgown and smelling like mildew! Ewe!! With this awful washer you can NEVER leave a load of washed clothing sit for any length of time or you can look forward to smelly clothing. Hate it. Absolutely HATE it. Again, this defeats the purpose of using less water.Cant make myself spend more dollars that I dont have in the budget to replace this piece of crap. I have figured out all the workarounds for now, but as soon as I can replace it I will send it to the dump. Not going to resell or donate to anyone else as it would just be a burden for others. If there was ever a rightful need for a class action lawsuit to compensate consumers for false claims by a company - this is it! Hope this helps prevent anyone reading from making the poor purchase decision I have!

My 4-year old water heater has upper/lower sensor issues for the fourth time this year. The rep was supposed to send replacement parts to arrive today (day four with no hot water), but the wrong ones were shipped. A different rep called and offered to exchange the unit for a new one. The expense to me will be $350-$450 for the plumber to uninstall my unit, take it to Lowes and bring the new one back to install. The plumber suggested I take my $450 and just buy a new non-Whirlpool unit. He knew immediately that I had a Whirlpool hot water heater because its the most common repaired vendor. Whirlpool should be covering this expense for re-installation of their inferior product. Poor customer service. Day 4 with no hot water during the holidays with no solution in sight short of me purchasing a new hot water heater. Whirlpool finally got the right parts to me and I paid a plumber $190 to install. One week to the day later, my pilot light will not stay lit. No change in ventilation since it has been installed. I will say I have been dealing with their rep Chris on the phone who is extremely nice and I feel sorry for him. But we all have the exact same issue which is not being resolved.

Purchased new from Best Buy for over $1000. One or two months after the warranty expired the ice through the door malfunctioned, would only spit out crushed all over the floor then clog up. Didnt bother to repair it, just open the freezer. Next, the door would not seal right and frost builds up in my frost free. Also, the ice delivery wont close tight. Now the unit is about 3 years old and I just finished paying it off and all the door shelves are cracking. Contacted Whirlpool and was told by email politely, Too bad. You are out of warranty, but please buy parts from us and say nice things about Whirlpool because we so value our customers. Never will buy Whirlpool again and recommend you DONT.

I brought a whirlpool dishwasher in 2013. It never did clean dishes, had to wash them by hand before putting them in dishwasher. Had someone come out and check it. He told me I was using wrong type of soap, so I changed. That didn’t do a thing. Now I have mold growing in the dishwasher because the tub is cracked all around the inside. Called whirlpool, of course they couldn’t do anything about it. Have never heard of dishwasher cracking. So today, Lowes came out and took picture of crack that is where I brought it. So am waiting to find out what is going to happen. Will not ever buy whirlpool again and will tell all my friends.

Still did not work. Was instructed to go thru the same process of lighting it, still did not work. Then I was given a ref# and was told that my PARTS was warranty and not labor. I have had the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer for the last two years. I HATE them. We purchased them from Lowes at a price point of around $800 each. What we expected and what we got were two different things. The washer was horrible from the beginning. It is impossible to wash a load of clothes without the UL unbalanced load indicator. It is impossible to balance a load. I have taken wet clothes out and put them back in with no luck. It takes hours for a load to finally wash. I have all but given up as I have been told it us unrepairable and too costly! Now the dryer has decided it will no longer dry clothes. It has never been a good dryer but now it takes at least 120 minutes to dry jeans. Do not buy a Whirlpool! I will never have another Whirlpool product in my home... RIP OFF.

My induction cooktop totally failed to work two months after installation. Whirlpool sent a repairman who told us it was the main board. He also said he was unable to locate any of that part anywhere in his computer. We called Whirlpool via our store, Ikea. They apologized, asked for 48 hours to locate a part, then said they would replace the cooktop if they were unable to find out. Almost 48 hours later, they hadnt located it and denied any replacement option. The parts cost is over $800. The cooktop cost just over $900. Whirlpool reps would only read from a script of legal warranty jargon. Then they said they needed 5 to 7 days. We had a baby visiting - we needed our stove. To me, an apology would be replacing that unit if the part wasnt available, not a verbal statement. Fortunately, we had the phone # of a local Ikea manager who told us to bring the cooktop to the store as they had them in stock. They replaced it with a new one. Over the years of my long life, I have bought many Whirlpool products. Never again. I need a washer and dryer, and will not be purchasing any associated with the Whirlpool Corporation. Thanks to Ikea, though, for standing by their customers.

This machine does not clean the clothes well, keeps an odor even after using Clorox (probably due to water inside that never leaves), and does not spin the clothes well. Every washing is longer than traditional washers and then I must use the spin-only cycle twice (adding another 30 minutes). I must also shake the inside of the tub to get the spin to work at all. The tech came out and re-calibrated, but to no advantage. Terrible machine and should be, as one viewer said, under recall, in my opinion. NOT WORTH THE MONEY -- and I am very disappointed in Whirlpool.

Rust around the inside of the top of the washer. They do not use stainless for this part of the washer. It is some sort of cheap tin material that will rust in less than the first year. They have gone cheap on building but still think their products are worth the expensive price they ask. Do yourself a favor, pop the lid and look under what they do best to hide and also they removed the pop down door on the dryers so you cannot vacuum out the excess lint build up. Tragic lint gets hot and starts to burn in the gas models and stink. They should be ashamed of themselves. They have bought up most of their competition and now they have gone cheap on product production but not on price.

Whirlpool stated I was beyond the 1-year warranty and said there was nothing they would do, except sell me a 1-year warranty for $299. I was at their mercy, so I purchased the warranty for $299 and had the fridge fixed. I would like to be reimbursed at least for the $299 warranty charge. Ill never buy Whirlpool appliances again. I purchased all new kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago. The range had electrical issues within the first year, which was extremely scary. Thankfully because of the warranty they took it back, reimbursed me for it and I replaced it with a GE. I absolutely love the GE. The dish in the microwave never stays on its track in the center. Its quite an inconvenience to fix it almost daily. The top rack in the dishwasher constantly breaks, drops down on one side. Random parts from inside the dishwasher constantly come loose and fall off. But the worst of all....my refrigerator has broken down twice in 6 months from the same issue due to no fault of my own. To give some credit, Whirlpool fixed it out of warranty the first time. However the same issue happened 6 months later and they are expecting me to pay for it. The repair company contracted with Whirlpool covers their parts under warranty, however different parts need to be ordered. I had to pay for these parts, a service call and labor. Whirlpool came out with a service pointer on this because they know its a manufacturing defect but are refusing to cover the cost. The representative I spoke to was nasty and inconsiderate but sadly the manager was even worse. DONT buy Whirlpool!!! I recommend GE, youll be much happier. Worst customer service and support.

I called the 1-866-698-2538 customer service and so sorry is all you get! By the way, neither of the repair were willing to install the replacement part, as it takes too long to install and these compressors are never the same after the ice maker has these issues! On December 24, I was planning my annual Christmas Eve dinner when my oven just decided to quit working completely. This was the third time my oven broke down on me. I called Whirlpool and they pretty much told me theyll get to me when they can but it was the holiday. So I understood that it would be a few days. I had a technician come out to my house on December 27 and tell me that he needed to order a fuse. He called all over the state to find one but no one had one so he put it as an emergency. The technician did everything he could to accommodate me but could only do so much. So I waited and waited but heard nothing.Today, January 3, I called the department to see when my part was going to be here and they tell me January 10 - unacceptable. I called the management team and spoke with Tiffany who pretty much just told me, Sorry. You have to wait five business days to find out if the part is available. If not, then we can discuss sending new ovens. Why would we have to wait five business days from January 3 when it was ordered on December 27? Look, Im a very reasonable woman and this is the first time I have ever complained online about a company. But I have gone 10 days without an oven and I have a family that I cook for daily. My ovens are four months old so this should not be happening. And when it does, there should be parts to fix it or a replacement on hand because no family should have to go without an oven when they just paid a ** load of money for it. Customer Service should be a little more sympathetic and a little less about business because at the end of the day, theyre not the ones suffering, we are. Also if this part is on back order, that tells me that this probably happens often. Maybe Whirlpool should recall this oven model because whoever heard of an oven overheating? Get it together. I will spread the word of mouth about my experience!

Another load of darks with white soap residue splattered across every item. Despite using a soap pod and setting to so-called Deep Water wash. Whirlpool top load WTW5000 is a terrible machine. As in other reviews, constant soap residue and clothes stretched and tangled into a compressed wad with deep wrinkles as you try and untangle them after the wash. Unable to dilute your soap and faking out the machine to get a bit more water are recurrent themes. Just ridiculous. There should be a class action suit for replacement. When I moved into my current home, this dishwasher(Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1) was already installed. It had never been used until I moved in. After two years of 2-3 times a week use, I have major problems. It will not complete a wash cycle, regardless of what settings I use. It runs long enough for the soap dispenser to release the Finish tablets which dissolve, but then the dishwasher stops running. The dishes are not clean, and neither is the interior of the dishwasher. It also appears to be leaking when it runs. I cannot afford to replace it, so either I will repair it myself or use it to store pots and pans. This is not my first disappointment with a Whirlpool product. A Kenmore refrigerator made by Whirlpool lasted 7 years before the compressor failed. Apparently, the self-cleaning coils werent and caused the compressor to fail. The refrigerator I have where I now live is a Whirlpool over 20 years old and runs perfectly. Apparently Whirlpool quality has deteriorated badly in the last two decades. I will never buy another Whirlpool kitchen appliance because of the dishwasher and new refrigerator experiences. When I searched the Internet for fixes for both appliances, I found many other owners having the same problems I have had.

We purchased the largest Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (over $1100 value) 3.5 years ago, and had nothing but trouble out of it. The drum has had to be replaced twice, the motor once, and then supposedly a bolt kept coming off on the drum as well, that had to be tightened twice. Now, we dont know what is wrong with it - we suspect suspension imbalance or something, because this extra large capacity washer is constantly unbalanced even with 6 articles of fabric in it now, and I dont even think about putting even what would be considered a medium-large load in it, because it flat up will not wash. You can put a level on it, and it shows leveled, but it still wont operate worth anything. My wife is so put out by it at this point that she has even talked about getting an old ringer washer (seriously). Sears keeps coming out here because we had purchased the extended warranty and truly if they had simply replaced the washer after the 2nd trip to the house, they would have more than paid for the replacement washer even. Instead, they keep coming, looking at it, then having to order parts, and then come back a couple weeks later to put the shipped parts (which sit around our house), back in to repair it each time. All the while, we go without a washer or barely can wash any clothes. We have even taken clothes to the laundromat during one of the repair instances, because we cant just have mounds of clothes piled up for their month-long service. It is ridiculous how little it seems that Sears and Whirlpool care about their customers. I have gone to Whirlpool and Sears Home Services sites and complained at both. I have called both of their 800 lines in the past and again, this yielded nothing to truly depict either company cares. It just goes to prove that customer satisfaction is far less valuable to either of these companies than the bottom dollar profits in our opinion. I dont know where else to post our concerns/frustrations, so anyone can see how put out these two companies have caused us and dont care, but if anyone knows of anywhere else I can post blogged concerns, please let me know.I have complained previously about a dishwasher that we had purchased that we had numerous issues with. Those complaints fell on deaf ears to Whirlpool and really Sears as well. I dont think all the washers are duds, but this one has been nothing but trouble, and Sears wont just replace it, Whirlpool dont care. I have been given the runaround that it is because there arent three (3) service calls in a 12-month period for the exact same issue. Well, I am sorry that it doesnt appear to be just one thing! I have had it with these services calls, parts having to be ordered, only to hit the crazy repeat button again every time! This is far from good customer service, in my opinion, but rather a way to ensure the most profit is achieved! Thanks.Sears and Whirlpool have the worst customer service ever!

In July 2018 I purchased a coin operated commercial front load 27 in washer and dryer. It was placed in and used in a six unit apartment building occupied by 8 long term adults. Prior washers and dryers had been operational for years with minor repairs at times. In June of 2019 the interior cement center balance on the top of the washer drum broke with resulting damage to screws securing the center balance and potentially other unknown parts. This was reported to Whirlpool customer Care service and they referred me to one of their a repair services. The repair service in about early August repaired the washer. In late September 2019 the cement balance broke a second time and this was again reported to Whirlpool service who requested I notify their recommended repair service. On inspecting the washer the repair service stated the entire washer was required to be rebuilt. The labor for installation of would cost me $1,125 with Whirlpool providing the parts under their warranty. The $1,125 labor cost was just under what I paid for a new coin operated front load washer. I reported this to Whirlpool whose supervising staff, without any inspection of damaged washer as to determine whether the washer was fit for its purpose when sold as a commercial washer, rejected any replacement of the less one year old washer and insisted they would only pay for the parts and I would have to pay for the labor, particularly when the both the cost of the replacement parts and the labor would be substantially in excess of a new machine. Due to time and effort constraints the problem was resolved by simply dumping the defective washer and purchasing a new commercial front load washer from a more responsible company.

My 5-year-old Cabrio started coming up with error codes, and not draining and spinning the clothes. They charged the credit card immediately for the biggest piece of crap washing machine. Someone came out 2 days later and told me he has worked on a lot of Cabrios but never one in quite that condition. I was led to believe that after charging the credit card, boxes would be arriving with parts to fix it. I called 2 days later to find out the status of when it would be repaired and they told me they already put a credit thru on the credit card because to fix it would be equal to the price of 2 brand new washing machines, and they will do nothing to honor that agreement. This Whirlpool Water heater was purchased through Lowes on March 29, 2011. This past weekend, water started leaking out of the thermostat/natural gas control located on the side of the tank. I called a plumber to take a look. He stated that a new thermostat/natural gas control was needed. Although the tank has a 12 year warranty, this item does not. Whirlpool did agree to replace the part but would charge me $30 to overnight the item which still would have taken 4 days because of a weekend. To install the item would have cost me almost $500.00.To purchase a new Rheem Water heater was $999. I chose the second choice as the first choice would have still left me with a subpar water heater obviously already out of warranty. The reason for my review is that I saw the number of complaints on the failure of this part. When I purchased this water heater, it was the better model due to the 12 year tank warranty. What use is the tank warranty when the other items dont last? There should be some type of reimbursement but Im not holding my breath. Please buy a contractor grade water heater and not the cheaper models.

Not their problem, door is a accessory not a part. Whirlpool said no quality issues with the material. Very disappointed Whirlpool did not stand behind a product they sell. From past posts I am glad we did not hook up the ice maker.

My stove hasnt been a problem from the start. I have had to buy two parts one for the oven, and the top. I feel my stove is dangerous. I would not buy a Whirlpool again. I would like to know who makes the stove that dont costs a arm and a leg. My stove is less than five-year old.

We have had a GX5fhdxvy 07 Whirlpool Gold French door fridge with bottom freezer that is approximately 4 years old. Since the first 6 months of use, so 3.5 years now, we have had continual problems with a flat sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer which then builds up and leaks all over our floor. Twice I have slipped, once banged my big toe to the point of cracking my big toenail and bleeding profusely, and the second time I slipped on my butt and really hurt my back. This is of real concern as one of my children has Cerebral Palsy and autism and could really hurt himself in our kitchen. We originally called while it was still under warranty and the technician said that we will need to learn how to defrost the tube that seems to be getting built up with ice. Thats the only way to fix it. We thought it meant fix it for a long period of time. After several months of this re-occurring problem, we realized that this is something you need to do very frequently, meaning several times a week. We have had no help from Whirlpool, they tell us that essentially it is our problem. They didnt even offer to provide parts. They were not interested in our problems and just asked us if we wanted to pay for a service call, and that was it. Now but what kind of service is this?? Clearly, after researching these products, this is a design flaw and a lot of consumers have complained about the the same issues. You would think that Whirlpool would have the decency and the business smarts to create a recall to solve consumers issues.Unfortunately, I am not able to purchase a new unit. This was an expensive purchase as it was… and we have absolutely no resolution to the problem. I have to say that after our injuries in our household, eventually someone will slip and do some serious permanent damage to their body or even worse, fall and sustain a head injury and perhaps even die. And although this may seem like a far fetched comment, it really isnt out of the realm of possibility at all! How long does it take for a manufacturer to respond to a flaw in their design??

WOW!!! After reading all of these reviews Im wondering why I didnt see these sooner before I bought my POS Whirlpool fridge! Had our fridge a little less than 2 years and the freezer just does not keep anything cold anymore. Stopped making ice and everything in the freezer started to defrost. We noticed this one day when our ice cream was runny... Yuck! So we looked around online for troubleshooting. We took out the drawers and the back panel... There was a huge chunk of ice right before the coils. The coils themselves were not frosty and we thought that might be a problem, but we didnt know. So we thought this might be the problem. So we took a hairdryer and melted the big chunk of ice. After we did that we then noticed the coils started getting frosty again but not consistently or evenly across all of the coils. I dont know if this is good or not??? So now Im going to purchase a thermometer and see if the actual inside of the freezer is getting up to the correct temp. After reading all of these reviews on here Im thinking Im screwed!!! We also called Whirlpool and they basically said... oh well not our problem. WHAT A ** COMPANY! I will never buy another Whirlpool product again... Even if they offered me a free one I dont think I would take it.
