Whirlpool model EVLl201NXRQOO, serial no. EWT2423236 - Defective paint on the back of the freezer that caused rust to form and paint to peel off. Whirlpool does not warrant manufacturing defects on the paint. Guess I was lucky for it to be on the back and not the front.

Yes, Whirlpool makes Maytag, Im still paying for this junk. Too much to go into detail. I had to bypass the crummy fuse system in the Bravo dryer and hook up my own 15amp automotive fuse in the dryer to keep it working. This after two lame under-contract Maytag repairmen replaced the dreaded board, which did nothing. The washer goes cabunk, cabunk, cabunk throughout the house and shuts down with an unlevel code (no matter how level the load is) every time it does its load during the spin cycle. The dishwasher handle broke off and had to use a screwdriver to pry the handle latch open, until realized it doesnt even lock anyway and just pulled the door open. Now, the dishwasher has this noise problem which means they designed it to allow pieces of debris to escape past the trap like my other dishwasher had that was easy to remove and clean. Do not, I repeat, do not pay the $3,500+ I paid for this junk. Go buy a Kenmore thats 15 years old off of Craigslist! Youll be better off and it will last longer.

Our dishwasher stopped working after 13 months. We are a family of 2 and use it once a week. We called Whirlpool and were told since it is past 12 months, they would do nothing but give us the name of a repairman in the area. We called our own repairman and $120 later, the sensor that had malfunctioned was replaced. Quite costly on a $450 dishwasher. Now, after 15 months, the handle on the lower broiler portion of my Range has come off and the screws will not hold because the plastic around them deteriorated. I just called customer service once again, knowing what I would be told and YES was told So sorry, nothing we can do. A new handle will be $45 plus shipping. We bought the refrigerator at that same time and every day, I wait for this appliance to have issues. In summary, Whirlpool/Maytag appliances are obviously made to be disposable after 12 months. They do not stand behind their products and I would not recommend them to anyone.

This new oven came with my house. I like the oven but hate the aqua clean feature. It is impossible to get the grease off. I cant reach the back sides or the back. I scrub with all my might on parts I can reach but the baked on grease is back with the next use. The aqua clean feature is only good for light spills on the bottom. I like a clean oven. I am now looking to replace a practically new oven which will run me about $2000.00 which I am not happy about. I highly recommend the high heat cleaning feature ovens. I also developed a pitting area on the bottom the size of a quarter & I dont know how that occurred. Buyer beware of aqua cleaning features.

So I had a problem with the water heater after 2 years and had the sensor fix by my heating people. Now the water heater is 3 years old and started leaking from the top of the water heater. Called my heating people and they fix the pipe and coupling on top but he told me the water was still bubbling up at the top. He told me it could stop and 70% it would be ok. Went to check on it and it continues to leak so I called Whirlpool because it was still under warranty. They are the most horrible people to deal with. First of all I told the guy it was leaking from the top but he asked me if it was leaking out of the side pipe. Didnt know what he was talking about and he kept sighing on the phone. If I knew about water heaters I wouldnt be calling them. After all the questions it came down to it was leaking where I told him at the top. He gave me a number and told me to take the water heater back to Lowes and get a new one and then call them and they would move the warranty over to the new heater. Really???? We are not talking about clothes you want to bring back to a store. Asked him how I should do this and he told me to call a heating contractor. So does he think that the heating contractor and going to run the water heater back for a new one??? In the end I just called my heating people and they are going to send somebody out to install a new heater. So much for Whirlpools warranty. If this is under warranty and it is exclusive to Lowes then they should be having Lowes bring a new one and install it.

Whirlpool Gold Convection Oven - I bought this new oven, cleaned it once. The bottom cracked where the spills had been. Since Id had it only two months, repair tried to say it was only cosmetic but had to replace it. Next time I cleaned the oven for multiple spills, (a year later) it cracked again, giving the bottom a shattered look where the spills were. I only cleaned it once and the bottom is ruined. I dont expect Whirlpool to stand behind this, but I agree these Convection Ovens require a Class Action Suit because they are selling faulty merchandise. Period.

Everything I have read is what I am going through... First the clothes didnt come clean. Lint piles on everything dark... Then at 1 yr and 7 months old, the drum and spin mechanism breaks. It cost me $333 in labor... Should have cost me nothing as far as Im concerned. 2 weeks later, its putting a code up that the hot and cold lines are crossed. Nope, its the whole computer board. Whirlpool again said they will just pay for parts... piece of crap. I paid for the best... Sure didnt get it.

Updated on 07/09/2020: This fridge freezes produce. A part was replace to solve this problem but it has never worked properly. After several attempts to correct temperature fluctuation, Whirlpool decided it was working within their specs and advised us to set the temp higher to solve the problem. So we are doing that but now if the temp is too high the ice is watery and falls out of the ice compartment when we have finished using the ice dispenser. So we lower the temp and it again freezes the produce. Do NOT buy a Whirlpool!!! If you have any questions look at whirlfreezefood story...Original Review: Purchased September 2019. Worked for a couple weeks and then Freezes the produce. I have put it in the center drawer and in the main fridge still freezes. Go to ** for full story and recording of a message Whirlpool left me.

We came home from work and all was well. About an hour later, there was a strong burning smell in the kitchen, like wires burning. Sourced it to our refrigerator. Brought our grandson upstairs to the second floor apartment to get him away from the smell and possible smoke and/or fire. This unit has been repaired several times but not recently. After reading all the same reviews on this problem, we are definitely concerned that a fire may arise. Unfortunately we may wind up buying another, very expensive, refrigerator in the very near future but it will definitely not be a Whirlpool. I wish I could give Whirlpool a ZERO star because that is even too good for this company.

Purchased the 2015 Whirlpool Cabrio. Today 5-2018, the panel went completely out. When I called the store (Lowes) they asked if I purchased the warranty. I responded no, she went on to say, “Well since you choose not to purchase the warranty youre stuck”. Even if I paid for the warranty a washer should not break down in less than 3 years. My previous washer lasted 18 years with no problems. We purchased this washer because of the larger load. It was one of the most expensive washers. It’s a piece of junk and the manufacturer will not stand by their horrible product. Please DO NOT buy! I will be filing a formal complaint.

Immediately after purchasing an entire kitchen of Gold Series kitchen appliances including the refrigerator with bottom freezer in 2/2013 from Lowes we began having issues with the refrigerator. I am not an engineer and dont profess to be, but even I can figure out that the whole thing is a problem based on a design issue. The top drips water consistently and has from the first, which has been addressed numerous times. Ice maker replaced trying to fix the situation two times. The freezer guides were messed up and off from the beginning, and had to be ordered-waited for, then installed. In total a repair person has been here, an inconvenience on our part - 7 or 8 times and we still dont have a refrigerator that works properly! The last time we had someone look at it, there was a part that had to be ordered from, yes, Mexico and we had to wait a week or so and they told us they could rent us a loaner!!! Are you kidding me?? I should have kept the old 26 yr old fridge in my garage that is still working that was built in America! After buying $8000 in appliances and supposedly a top of the line brand name that in the past has shown integrity to their products... I pay my bill each month, because if I didnt someone would put it on my credit. But who puts it on Whirlpools credit? Who is going to hold them accountable and how many complaints must there be in order for someone in the government to step up and do something to a company that is taking tax dollars from our US and sending it to other countries but selling less quality products to those who do pay the taxes? I am ready to sign a petition! I should have gone with the other brand! Any other brand would have given me a better shot than this of having less of an issue! Terrible experience and certainly NOT GOLD! Shame on YOU Whirlpool!

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer with the glass lid. This is not a good washer to buy! The clothes do not get clean. Have to set it to bulk to get enough water to even cover clothes. Biggest issue is the lid. I have had to order a new one as it cracked on both sides back by control panel. I took the old lid off and discovered why the lid cracked. I have read many complaints about this same issue and everyone said Whirlpool would do nothing about it or even acknowledge there was a problem. Here is the problem. On each side there is a spring to hold the lid up while in the open position. The lid is plastic. When I tried to push those lid pins down with the lid off they would not go down. The springs are too strong for the plastic. When the lid is down the springs are trying to hold the lid up, so they are pushing against the plastic. Given time the springs win out against the plastic and the lid cracks and breaks. I am just a simple housewife and I figured this out! I hope that every manufacturer that is making glass top lids STOPS making them out of plastic, uses metal instead, uses a spring that is not as strong, or foregoes the current design and comes up with something that is better. It is for certain that I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance!

Bought this machine in July 2015 to replace LG front loader that went bad.
Bought this machine in July 2015 to replace LG front loader that went bad. This machine is the worst at rinsing the soap out of dark clothes, and probably the whites and lights too! Dark clothes always have white streaks and spots all over them. Called Customer Service and was told it was due to too much soap, the way the clothes were loaded, needed to add an extra rinse cycle to load, and/or because there is a water softener in the home. Have changed soaps 3x, changed the way I was loading the clothes, and I doubt the water softener has anything to do with this problem. I dont see how adding an extra cycle is efficient and seems wasteful. This machine is horrible and whether I just got a lemon or if its a defect in this machine, I dont know. Whirlpool doesnt seem to care either. I am going to attempt to sell this one and will not consider Whirlpool for the next one. Do not buy this machine!!

The dryer works great so far, the washing machine on the other hand not good at all! The tray where the detergent goes continues to have mold/mildew in it, the clothes come out of wash cycle smelling soured. We have this set inside and we keep our temp set on 67 in our home. There is no excuse for all the problems, not to mention that noise it makes when it washes!! I am completely disgusted!!

We recently bought a Whirlpool front loader even though the reviews kept mentioning mold and odors. I discovered that there was a water buildup in the soap dispenser so after every load, I remove, clean and dry the soap dispenser. The machine does a great job on cleaning clothes and I am following other suggestions on cleaning the drum from time to time. By the way, I bought my machine at Lowes from the scratch and dent department and with a little negotiating, I paid half price! Good deal and so far, good machine. I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer from a local appliance center. Everything was working great. After some time, the washer began to have error codes. I would have to turn it off and restart using more detergent, more water and more electricity to attempt to get a load washed. I did purchase an extended warranty. I reported the issue to Whirlpool and I have had 7 home repair visits while still under Whirlpools warranty. The first time, the repair tech went under the washer and tightened a screw. REALLY! The next visit, the motherboard was changed and the issues kept coming back. Well, the Whirlpool warranty was now over so the extended warranty had to be picked up from the appliance center. Things got worse and had continued repair calls. After I had enough, I called Whirlpool and spoke to everyone under the sun. I tossed it outside and bought another brand washer. Several weeks went by and this washer still under the shed, Whirlpool contacted me and bought back my washer, GREAT.Now, here it starts all over again with the dryer, same issues with motherboard. Only this time, I am 1 month out of Whirlpool warranty and need $385 for a new motherboard plus cost to replace. I call Whirlpool again but only this time, they show no issues with this dryer and are not budging. I toss it out and again, purchase another brand dryer. I grew more angry by the day looking at this dryer sitting useless outside. I had it hauled off as trash. My question is how does a consumer protect themselves against these manufacturers? I do understand warranties but if it smells like a lemon, acts like a lemon, it must be a lemon!

I purchased a french door refrigerator in March 2013. I purchased the Gold Series because I wanted the best. I have come to the conclusion that Whirlpool does not make a refrigerator with the quality to reflect the Gold Label or any label. My ice maker system created ice dams inside the fresh food area, in the ice bin compartment and allowed water to run into the fresh food area and floor. After four repair visits, I am still dealing with occasional water running down the inside of the ice maker door and into the fresh food area. I contacted Whirlpool and tried to get the defective refrigerator replaced; however, the very rude customer service representative insisted on another repair call by A&E. They scheduled the appointment for a time different than we agreed upon, so at this point I have had to cancel this appointment. I do not know why anyone would want to buy an appliance made by Whirlpool, which includes several other brands.

Ive had my Whirlpool water heater for almost 4 years now and for the last year and a half, I had to have the pilot light lit at least 5 times. I finally got so frustrated around the 3 times and called the company. They gave me instructions on how to light it and to ensure no draft was around the tank. A couple of weeks ago, it went out again and I called. This time I was told to replace the thermocouple. I did that and guess what? Still no hot water. Im a single parent with 2 kids and weve been boiling water just to bath.A service tech came out and told me I need to replace the tank altogether. I called Whirlpool service and they told me it was nothing they can do. Like many of you, I got this tank from Lowes and they will not do anything about it either. 8 cu. ft. Cabrio® High-Efficiency Top Load Washer with Steam - I bought a new washer. It did a poor job rinsing and spinning dry. Whirlpool customer threatened me that a service charge may be charge if the repairman came out and found nothing wrong. After calling three times I ordered a repairman out. The repairman explained that only way to prevent soap residue on your clean clothes is to use the bulky and deep water options. Also dont use high spin or when it spins your clothes dry, it leaves them in a tangled mess that requires ironing to remove the wrinkles. This washer is not ready for the market and must be removed until they can perfect it. It cost me $200 to return and exchange this model for the Front Load Duet, which works excellent. Unfortunately, I can not rate this machine LESS than one star. I would rate it ZERO. We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine model WTW7800XW0, 2 1/2 years ago in 2011. Since that time, we have had nothing but trouble from this machine. The machine basket gets off center when you have heavy items in there like jeans or a large load of towels and just stops working until you raise the lid and even out the clothing in the basket. If you wash something like a throw or a set of sheets in it, they get all twisted and wrapped around the thing in the center and end up in a big mound. We have had the glass top lid replaced on this machine TWO times over the last 2 years because the plastic frame on the lid around the glass cracked and broke and became warped in a raised position. This caused the machine to stop working because the machine will not wash clothing unless the door is locked down, and the door cant lock if the lid is cracked and warped and broken. So you have to set something heavy on top of the lid to get the lid to lock so you can wash a load of clothing! TWO times we have had repair people out to our home to replace the lid and now the lid is cracked and broken again, for the THIRD time! This is THREE broken lids in just over 2 years. Unacceptable!! The hinges on the lid that attach the lid to the machine are also rusted. This rusting has happened on all the lids that we have had replaced in the last 2 years. I will never, NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product again, EVER. Their products are inferior quality and JUNK. We have the Whirlpool dryer also to match the junk washing machine and the quality is just as bad but we are living with it because we have no choice right now. It takes 2 hours to get a load of clothing dry and forget drying jeans or towels; it takes forever! Whirlpool makes a dreadful product and their customer service is even more dreadful. =(

Buyer beware! I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrico topload and with my second wash, I realized I had a mess of a new washer. Ive called the call center on 3 separate occasions and I have spoken to other customers who have the sample complaint. The clothes are not washed clean. They have a residue left on them. My advice to all potential buyers, dont even consider buying a Whirlpool Cabrio washer. It is the worst purchase I ever made in an appliance. Im very unhappy with my washer.

Bought these Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum combo about three years ago, nothing but junk from the get go! Washer never gets clothes clean, towels always come out smelling mildew and sour no matter what liquid soap you use Tide, Gain, whatever same results. Plus always mold coming from inside tub and yes we use refresh weekly and wash it out on refresh setting. I’m so tired of our towels smelling sour but can’t afford to buy new washer and dryer living on fixed income. If I could these would be in the recycling yard now. From everything I’m reading all new H e machines are crap and energy efficient my foot. I wish for my old style washer and dryer. WHIRLPOOL YOU HAVE LOST A LONG TIME CUSTOMER!

We purchased an electric range model WFE371LVQ O in June 2010. This range is only used during the winter months in our vacation home. In January 2016 the oven turned on by itself. The control panel was replace. It happened again on 1/25/19. IT IS A FIRE HAZARD!! Thankfully we were home both times. The only way we got it to turn off was to flip the circuit breaker. If this would have happened when we werent home and a fire started and it killed our dogs I have no idea what I would do. Im not even attempting to have the control panel replaced again. Well be buying another brand. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. The company must have known about the issue because when we called the first time it happened, which was several years PAST the warranty period, they didnt hesitate to do the repair free of charge.

I bought a Whirlpool french door refrigerator, model # ED5LVAXWS about five years ago. I didnt have any problems until last month, on August 25, 2016. The ice dispenser stopped working, and the refrigerator went off. I had to throw out a lot of food. I got a new extended warranty that day, and a serviceman came out the following day, 8/26. It turned out he wasnt a repairman, just someone to diagnosis the problem and order the parts. The part was ordered, and the fridge would be repaired within 5 days, but the part was delayed because of a Hurricane Hermine, which completely understandable. On 9/8 the repairman arrived, but he realized that the original guy who diagnosed the problem was in error. He had ordered a compressor, and what needed to be replaced was the thermostat. As of today, 9/29, the part is still not in -- I was told its on backorder with no ETA. If I didnt have a mini fridge, Id be at a complete loss. I called what I thought was Whirlpool to complain about the part taking so long to arrive, but was told they can do nothing. It turns out that a company called AIG U.S. Warranty Division handles Whirlpools guarantees. I am not a happy camper.

We purchased a new Whirlpool Refrigerator less than 3 years ago. The last couple of weeks the freezer hasnt been keeping cold enough. We lost about $300 worth of food in it. The refrigerator section isnt keeping as cold as it should. I call Whirlpool, but didnt have a warranty, so if I paid more money we could have a warranty and get it fixed. Who has that kind of money. When we purchased our appliances we thought we were buying good quality appliances. That sure isnt the case. They should last way longer than less than 3 years.I called where we purchased it from. Had the service man come out. There are four major parts that are wrong with it. $800 plus at least 3 hours of labor. Not worth that. Again who can afford such money as this. I called Whirlpool again. They could give me money off a new fridge but it would still cost almost $1600. Im so unhappy with the appliances. We also have a stove and that doesnt work right either. I believe that we should be compensated way more than they are offering. I would not buy another Whirlpool again. I will make sure people know that it isnt good quality. Im so sad. Who would have thought. It is time that the people at the top of the company think of those lower than they are. The people I spoke to on phone were very kind. I know they really cant do much. They are just the middle man so to speak.

I purchased a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator (G16FDRXXY07) from h.h.gregg appliances and electronics in Columbia, South Carolina, on August 3, 2012. It was delivered and installed on August 11, 2012. It functioned well for three weeks, and then temperature of refrigerator dropped to 25F. Vegetables and eggs got frozen. I made a service call to Sloan Appliance Service as soon as I was aware of the problem. In the 3rd visit, the thermometer was replaced after troubleshooting. After replacing the thermometer, the temperature of the whole refrigerator got higher than it was supposed to be. Refrigerator got around 53F, and freezer got 34F. All foods in the refrigerator got spoiled. In the past six weeks, the company sent technicians to my house to check the problem, and they tried to fix this refrigerator for 5 times. The situation got worse and worse. I have not had a functional refrigerator for 6 weeks. A technician came with a compressor on 10/22/2012 to see if replacing it could fix the problem. When he cut the copper pipe, he found that refrigerant was leaked out. There is no refrigerant at all. He refilled refrigerant without changing compressor. Because he thought the leak was slow, it should be caused by the evaporator. He thought it should work and last long enough when a technician comes back with evaporator replacement. It turned out what the technician thought was wrong. The temperature of both refrigerator and freezer did not drop to normal, 53F/34F. The problem persists. I called Whirlpool customer support line several times. The response I got was that Whirlpool would not replace for having manufactured a faulty appliance during manufacture warranty. They can only keep sending technician onsite to check and repair. For 6 weeks and 5 times onsite visits/repairs, this newly purchased refrigerator still does not function.

We have had a Whirlpool hot water heater for 4 years now. Every three months something has to be replaced on it. Customer service does nothing to help and when we called Monday about a replacement part they told us they could no longer sell parts for that specific heater due to it being in a double wide. I contacted several more people and found out that heater was fine; all we needed was the part. The customer service woman was very rude and not willing to help at all. I told them we don’t have the money to keep replacing their piece of **. I ended up having to order yet again another part that was just replaced 2 months ago from Lowes. So after being with no hot water since Monday, now on Friday it is fixed, I wonder for how long. We do not recommend Whirlpool for nothing and will never buy a piece of ** from them anymore. We have a Whirlpool refrigerator that is causing us problems. I hope to soon get different brands in here to replace what Whirlpool can’t seem to make accurate.

Just now, I was able to install this replacement to our 30-year-old water heater that was showing problems. When trying to start the unit, I kept getting the response that the lower sensor unit failed. We contacted plumbing companies. We were told they would not work on any Whirlpool models purchased from Lowe’s, because they were the worst hot water heater ever made. I called Whirlpool support. They wouldnt put me through to a tech support person until I was registered in the system. I gave up trying after many minutes of frustration.

Will look into an old fashioned washboard next time. Frankly I think it is a scam. The HE Tide is more concentrated and my clothes do not come clean! We bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer and dryer in July of 2014. We were continually finding wet areas in our clothes after they were supposed to be dry. We finally called Lowes where we purchased the set. We had bought Whirlpool appliances about 10 years ago and were pleased with the product as we never had any problems. Lowes sent a service technician on September 12th who checked out the dryer and told us there was nothing wrong with the dryer, but the vent was unsatisfactory (he was from A&E Appliance Repair). He said there was nothing he could do and charged us around $148 for the 14 minutes he was here. We checked out the vent and found it to be working satisfactorily, but we continued finding wet areas on the clothes that were supposed to be dry. We continued to call Lowes and finally spoke to Amy at their Headquarters Customer Care Dept. with no positive results. We then called Whirlpool, and they sent someone who replaced the steam dryer valve which he said was leaking in November (it took another month to get this part). It is now January of 2015, and we are still experiencing wet spots on our clothes even worse than before!

Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEAW0 Washer - Bought the machine in Feb 2014 and was generally very pleased with it. However a few weeks ago we started getting oil/grease stains on clothing. Wasnt sure what was causing it but it has now got so bad that the machine cant be used. An internet search indicates it is possibly a ball racer ring and doesnt sound an uncommon issue. A call to Whirlpool resulted in a quote for circa $350 for a service call. Thats a 1/3rd of the original value (includes a 12 month warranty). And its just over a year old!!! We had a problem with the Maytag Neptune that ended in a class action suit and now this replacement machine seems to be even worse. I would recommend anyone to really consider what to buy and give this range a miss.

I have a Whirlpool GoldSeries dishwasher and I wish I had never bought it.
I have a Whirlpool GoldSeries dishwasher and I wish I had never bought it. I’ll start with the cons because I don’t think any other dishwasher on the market matches this: After 3.5 years either the motherboard or the motor is trash. It will cost so much to fix it that buying a new dishwasher is a better option. I paid more than $800 for the dishwasher + $200 for the install + $75 for the service call to find out it is garbage. I used it about 2-3 times per week, which adds up to about 455 uses total for the time I used it. This shows that the cost of this dishwasher, without operational cost considered, is $2.36 per load (or $307.14 per year if you prefer). No other appliance I have ever owned was as expensive, over its lifetime, as this dishwasher.Whirlpool customer service was difficult to get a hold of and then obstinate and useless. The dishwasher would stink if it was not cleaned regularly. Pros: It is quiet and it cleans the dishes well. Recommendation: Do not waste your money on this. Many other dishwashers are quiet and clean dishes but not many will be this big or expensive. A disappointment over their lifespan.

Our 4-year old Whirlpool microwave suddenly stopped heating. We thought that we forgot to push something so we tried again to start it. This time, it started to spark. We bought a new microwave oven and foolishly bought another over the range Whirlpool microwave. This was about 1 1/2 years ago. The second Whirlpool microwave oven stopped heating as well. F7 came up on the controls which meant that the magnetron failed in this second microwave as well. We called Whirlpool and they said they would only repair it if we paid for the repair which would have cost almost as much as a new microwave and maybe more if other parts were involved. Next, last year, 2012, the pump on our Whirlpool dishwasher broke and once again, it was too expensive to repair it. We had to buy another dishwasher so we bought a Maytag, not knowing that they were made by Whirlpool. I guess we will have to wait until that guarantee is up before that also breaks. Also, last year, our Whirlpool washer pump broke and that cost us a few hundred dollars to repair. From the complaints that I am reading from people about their Whirlpool appliances, it is seems that their products are made to last just until the warranties expire. We should start a class action against Whirlpool. On many sites, I have read numerous complaints about Whirlpool products, the majority about the magnetrons in their microwave ovens breaking during and shortly after guarantees run out. They should not be allowed to get away with this. BBB, Consumer Affairs, where are you? To the many of you who have been burned by Whirlpool, I hope you have contacted the BBB and Consumer Affairs and maybe even the Attorney Generals office in your home state.

I bought this dishwasher in Nov. 2018 to replace one that was barely working. I have enjoyed using it much more than my old one. Its very quiet and does a great job of cleaning dishes, pans and silverware. The only problem we had was installing it. The leveling screws do not hold their height adjustment when the dishwasher is pushed across the floor during installation because the leveling screw pad was changed from steel to plastic and the tapped hole for the leveling screw is too loose. The effect of this - whereas the steel pad would slide the plastic pad will grab, turn and move the leveling screw out of adjustment. Especially if its tapped hole is too loose. So we went to Home Depot and bought 4 5/16 nuts and used them as lock nuts on the 4 leveling screws. This cost 50 cents. Once we installed it everything worked perfectly. It does take longer to complete a cycle than my old one - 3 hours vs. 2 but it uses less water and does a great job of cleaning. You must use a drying agent with your dish soap or it wont get dry enough. Also, if you use the short 1 hour wash it wont have as much time to dry and some dishes wont be completely dry. I usually wait to do a full wash with the normal cycle - 3 hour.

I have a Cabrio washer displaying the F-1 error code. I called on Thursday, the 15th of Sept. I spoke to Vicky in the Cleveland, TN division. She told me that the F-1 code on my machine (model no. WTW6600SW2 and serial no. **) was covered under a recall at no cost, parts or labor (I specifically asked this question). She set up a service repair ticket with Freds Appliance at 888-453-7337 and gave me the date. I was home waiting when they called. The driver drove in the drive and asked if he was there for my Jenn-Air cook top! I said no, the F-1 error code on the washer. He explained that he had just used the last control board last week and he changes them frequently. I called Whirlpool. A very snotty Ashley proceeded to tell me that nothing was covered and I would have to pay. I asked for a supervisor and Ratna answered after a hold of 45 minutes on my cell. I explained the situation. After begging, she proceeded to tell me that she would pay for parts only. I explained that the tech did not have the parts, didnt even know the correct appliance, and now I have to take another day off work to meet him to have my washer fixed. I have not used the washer in two weeks. I used to only buy Whirlpool products. After reading all the complaints about the same error code from other consumers, I believe there are enough complaints that we as consumers should be protected.

Cabrio Washing Machine - I purchased my washer and dryer in May of 2008. I had problems with sheets, towels and pants getting very twisted and tangled, but I just attributed that to a design flaw. My problems really began in January 2013 when loads were not level all the time. It didnt matter if it were 1 shirt or a load of towels; you had to stand by the machine and it took forever to finish a cycle. On 1/11/13, the first repair was the rods that kept the drum stable. $260.82 later, it worked again. On 2/16/13, the washer quit working. On 2/18/13, the repairman was back out. It needed a lid lock switch. It was $87.14 that time and he would be back when the part arrives ... There was still no washing machine. On 2/21/13, he returned with the lid switch and replaced it. That was $178.04 but wait, there were still other error codes so there was no working machine.I refuse to pay anymore as I now fear I will be buying a new machine after spending over $500 in less than 6 weeks, but Whirlpool did the right thing when I called and they agreed to repair the machine. They wanted a different company to come diagnose the problem (the machine gave an F50 and F51 error code to the repairman here on the 21st), so I have to wait for another repairman to come and look at the same codes flashing on the LED readout. On 3/1/13, the A&E repairman that Whirlpool sent out arrived at my house. I have been without a washer since the 16th of February. He diagnosed the problem and said that it is a $1,000 repair! I called Whirlpool and asked for a new machine, instead of throwing more money at this one. They informed me that if I didnt like their offer, they wont do anything then. I agreed to the repair.Parts started arriving at my house. On 3/13/13, another A&E repairman came out and started to fix the machine. He informed me that there was more wrong than the first guy thought, but he had the circuit boards so he would get it going. On 3/24/13, the washer quit working again and was flashing an F51 error code. This is the biggest piece of junk I have owned in my life. I have missed 5 half days of work since January and there is no end in sight. Why is Whirlpool allowed to get away with such an inferior machine?

I bought all new Whirlpool appliances. In my opinion Whirlpool has the best product at the best price. I don't buy anything but Whirlpool. My new bottom freezer refrigerator has more room than my previous side by side. The bottom freezer is a great feature and works very well for me. The shelves are adjustable. There is plenty of room in the doors. It has a meat drawer and humidity control vegetable bins. I was worried I wouldn't have enough room for my food but I am happy to report there is plenty of room. The freezer has the pullout shelves and automatic ice maker. It has a great appearance and takes less room than my previous side by side. Overall, it is well worth the price and I am not sorry I bought this refrigerator in the least. It can't be beat.

Based on good reviews at the time I purchased the Cabrio. Nothing gets clean. The detergent stays on the clothes and unless I use the Bulk senor. Otherwise I get horrible white marks on all the dark clothes. I cant even get the marks off with a wet rag. So washing only a few items I have to use Bulk. The sound is so bad from the machine, my dog runs in the closet and shakes. I feel so bad for her. How can a popular name like Whirlpool make such an inferior product? They dont even stand behind it. I bought a new Whirlpool electric range in the spring of 2008 and purchased the extended warranty from Leons. This time when the technician showed up, he turned the oven on & told me he was going to order a new bottom element, which he installed about a week later, again, with no further diagnosis. Now, here we are again, one month off warranty and 6 mos since the last repair, and again, the bottom element in the oven is not working correctly. I reported the issue & my dissatisfaction to Whirlpool and was basically told, How sad, too bad - hardware components fail and theres nothing we are going to do about it. Seriously? This range is just barely 5 years old and has a history of repeated problems with the bake function - obviously, something is defective in this product.I can see it, if I had not had any problems until this point, but when the same issue keeps coming up & obviously has not been correctly diagnosed and repaired, I would think they would have enough integrity to offer some kind of help or solution. Given the history here, its highly unlikely that Im going to be willing to spend big bucks on another attempted repair that, in all likelihood, will be merely a short term band-aid, so Ill probably have to buy another new range - which I cant really afford right now. Trust me, it will not be a Whirlpool & it will not be from Leons.

Our 27 cubic foot BLACK French Door refrigerator is freezing up again for the 4 or is it 5 time. We are now told they will give us a replacement and to go to the website and find what we want. The website lists DISCONTINUED fridges. Called their RUDE rep and found out only can get a Smaller, stainless steel ONLY refrigerator. So is that how they work, sell crappy refrigerators and then replace with a lesser refrigerator, which most likely will break down too. SHAME ON WHIRLPOOL. Or is it DEADPOOL. Your reputation is shot. We will NEVER purchase another piece of junk from you!!!

I purchased this set in November 2013, it is now October 2014. I made the same mistake as many others have made (according to the reviews that I have read on this site). Because I have owned Whirlpool brand appliances before - including washers/dryers - I assumed this new HE machine set would be every bit as good + quality. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework!Everyone is right - this Cabrio HE washer/dryer combo is nothing more than expensive JUNK!. My complaints are all the same as everyone elses: the clothes do not get clean, soap residue remains on clothes, the clothes even have parts of the articles come out of the wash cycle dry not even having had the water touch the articles in areas! The dryer has been repaired once already for a dryer sensor problem & overheating, now both the washer & dryer are making some ridiculous hum-drum noises! Even with the extended warranty that I purchased, I can see the loop holes built into it; theyve got me over a barrel with the nonsense mumble-jumble tactics of having to qualify for adequate service repairs for replacement of parts (3x on each machine) they cant find, before even attempting to negotiate a buyout that will never happen. Never again, Whirlpool anything!!!

We have just built a new home and have spent a ton of money on appliances. I so wish I had looked up the reviews on this Whirlpool Cabrio Washer before we bought it. It makes a very loud annoying sound through at least a third of the cycle (which I was just told by Whirlpool is the normal agitating sound). We have also had to have service out here twice in the first few months because some of the clothes come out dirty in areas that were folded over because of lack of water even on the high water setting. It also, ripped my favorite white blouse right in half. Trust me DONT buy it, you will be sorry.

This is our second Whirlpool refrigerator that has the same defrost water drainage problem. I was told this newer model had updated technology, not so, actually it is worse. My older refrigerator went about 8 years before I started noticing water on the floor and this newer model is 4 years old and it started having water overflow at 3 1/2 years. Then in April we replaced the water filter and the ice-maker stopped working. My freezer also stinks like stale water (my reason for replacing the old refrigerator plus the water on the floor). I followed a YouTube video for defrosting the drainpipe, it was very tedious, labor intensive, and time consuming and worked for 3 weeks. This is very upsetting. After spending $2500 to have such problems and my expensive $150 4-year extended warranty expired just weeks before the ice-maker went out. This is obviously a design problem that Whirlpool refuses to address since my other model was a year 2000 model and my 2013 has the exact same problem. VERY POOR customer care in addressing these design failures of both the defrost drainage (just make a larger drain port!!!) and the ice-maker.

As soon as we bought our new microwave, I saw what appeared to be hair on the door. I tried to scratch it off but I could not so I wondered if it was a crack but I could not feel it. As time went by, many other lines appeared but I could not feel them, just see them. After a couple of months, I noticed the first crack could be felt and then soon after that I could feel the other cracks. The first crack goes from the glass to the edge of the door and is wide open and the door edge kind of just hangs there. There are now about 20 cracks and the door will most likely fall apart soon. I called Whirlpool and they lied and said there have been no complaints at all about their doors. I read them some of the names here on this site having the same problem and the best they can do is offer to sell me a new door for $180. I told them that their product was defective and need to be recalled or something and he again tried to send me to the parts department to sell me a $180 door. I told him if that is how Whirlpool treats their customers, I would no longer buy anything from them.

BEWARE THE TEMP CAN BE 25 degrees off high and 25 deg lower and Whirlpool says that is within specifications. My oven temp was set at 350 and nothing was cooked... After 7 repair calls with their certified repair companies (the 2 worst repair companies that I have ever used) I was told that if you set your oven at 350 that if it stays in between 325 and 375 that Whirlpool claims that it is working fine and will not do anything. I called and talked to customer service and asked the lady that if you set your oven at 350 should it stay within a few degrees of that and she said YES.The people that work at Whirlpool do not even know what kind of junk that their company is selling. I asked to return it and get a more expensive model hoping that it would work better but they said that they sell ovens and do not buy them. Be sure to get in writing from your sales person that your oven will constantly hold the temp within a few degrees. I tried to do the Whirlpool survey but after 11 attempts they said that there was errors in receiving and they did not get it. If you buy Whirlpool then you did not ask the right questions. I WILL NEVER BUY Whirlpool again (unfortunately I have a Whirlpool dishwasher and refrigerator that are not much better) and if you do you will say the same things and be out Thousands like I am.

Whirlpool owned or bought out Maytag. My Maytag Washer (purchased a dryer also) was a disaster from day one. The previous set I owned (Maytag) was 20 years old when I decided to replace it. From day one, the washer literally walked across the floor while turned on (Maytag Performa). I had to sit there and virtually hold it down if I wanted to get my wash done. I called and called and they would eventually come out only to tell me that this was a substandard product from Maytag and I had better buy the extended warranty. After only 7 years, the washer completely stopped working and the dryer (Maytag) is falling apart. I purchased new Samsung washer and dryer and I absolutely love them. So you whine all you want about Samsung underselling you. I contacted you several times and all I received was lip service. I will never purchase a Maytag or Whirlpool washer and dryer and I’ll let all of my friends know about your terrible customer service!

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer Model WTW8800YC1 - I bought the Cabrio washer and dryer pair about 2 years ago at Lowes. About 5 weeks ago the lid fell apart. The hinge area came loose so now there are three pieces to line up (glass lid, metal arm, plastic frame), the fourth piece fell off completely. If you are successful at lining them up you can push the lid down and set a weight on it in order to wash. My first repairman said it was common issue. He expedited a lid. Three weeks later I called to find out when it may be repaired. He said he hadnt gotten the part from Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool... nice lady told me the part was on back order but should ship the first of the week. So on week 4 after not hearing anything I called a new appliance repair person. It is going to cost about $280 dollars to repair. This is one third the cost of a new washer??? I fight with this machine every day to get it to wash.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold top freezer refrigerator (G2IXEFMWQ03) in May 2011. Six months later, the freezer began to collect frost and eventually clogged the refrigerator port from freezer. Since cold air from the freezer was not going to fridge, I had to turn down the refrigerator temp to lowest setting. I had a service person come out and replace Adaptive Defrost Control under warranty - it would have cost me around $250. Now roughly 12 months after repair, the defrost issue is back. The part cost me $175, and that is if I install it myself. I called and mailed Whirlpool which was a waste of time. This is the last Whirlpool I plan to purchase. For the same issue to occur in this short time span, it has engineering flaw written all over it.

I bought a Whirlpool 3.4 Cu Ft. Top Load Washer, Model: WTW4800XQ on Sunday. Today is Tuesday morning, but the machine broke last night. It lasted for about 5 loads and they were not big loads, unbalanced, and yes I had the right amount of soap. Whirlpool is saying that I washed something that was not machine washable. However, that is simply not true. I washed the bathroom rugs (which have been washed many times before) and they are saying the pump is clogged. If I had a washing machine 48 hours ago, do I really have to pay a service repairman to fix it? I will never buy any Whirlpool product again.

Reading the many reviews of malfunctioning washers and other appliances, I wonder why organizations like Consumer Affairs and Consumer Reports do NOT help the many cheated customers form a class action lawsuit or boycott or some other means to effectively organize and force manufacturers to return the full cost of purchase, taxes, shipping, moving and repairs for 5 years for every product. The manufacturer have NO consequences for selling shoddy, malfunctioning but terribly expensive products. We are all being taken for fools by the corporations.I was stupidly brand loyal and bought a Whirlpool Duet front-load washer and dryer because we had to leave our perfectly good 28-yr-old Whirlpool washer when we sold our house. The first set of instruction is to pull the electric cord from a small hole in the back of the washer. No amount of pulling would budge the cord. Finally yanked with all my strength, heard a snapping sound and 12 of cord came out. Then no more pulling, yanking or tugging would produce another inch of cord. So I took off the top of the machine and found the cord tightly wedged in the fork of a plastic thing that looked like part of a stabilizer for the drum.A similar plastic thing on the other side was broken at the fork, the snapping sound I heard. Freed the cord with lots of effort, but it was still firmly stuck way down inside. Removed the back of the machine, found the cord stuck inside a circular thing with one tiny opening. Took lots of time and effort to free the cord from that, but it was still stuck. Finally managed to reach the plug, which was firmly anchored to the bottom of the frame with an orange lanyard. Cut the lanyard with a knife to finally free the cord. This had to be an act of sabotage by an assembly worker, as no way could the cord accidentally jam itself into 3 different places too small for the cord to slip in, and it certainly didnt tie itself to the bottom of the frame with a lanyard. The hour it took to free the cord was just the start of troubles with this machine. It did start and kind of tumbled clothes in an odd fashion, but when it went into spin cycle, it literally jumped all around the room, almost jumping out the door. The whole house shook and I feared the floor would collapse. That machine must weigh well over 100 lbs. even without water and clothes. Next load I tried delicate cycle which had a slow spin cycle.Same result, even worse. I had to wedge my body in the 10 space between washer and dryer and press down with all my 170 lbs. to keep the machine from doing serious damage to the dryer, walls and floor. I contacted seller, Lowes, and they said call Whirlpool. So I did, but no response. Before buying that machine, I read many horrible reviews of Whirlpool Duet machines, but I have only owned 2 washers since 1967, both Whirlpools, so I had strong but stupid brand loyalty.

Moved into a house with a 2009 Gold Series Dishwasher model GU2475XTVY0. It has never worked since we moved in 3 years ago, always left dishes musty and poorly cleaned. We basically used it as a rinse/dry and pre-washed everything by hand. Even then it would mold up frequently and required manual cleaning. Total piece of junk, but looked really nice, stainless finish. Yeah.Latest chapter is it completely stopped working. Called a tech out for the usual $80+. His advice: this is a total lemon, and has been from the start. Not worth repairing. So Whirlpool, is this the standard you have now? 5-6 years for a dishwasher life cycle? Noted that my fridge is a matching 2009 Gold series, it has also had several problems with keeping a steady temp and has gone through 2 control boards at a hefty fee each. I guess Im done with Whirlpool, running out of appliance brands to blacklist here...

We purchased this washer in 2017, its the top loading Cabrio washer and it has been nothing but junk since day one. Purchased from RC Wiley in Boise and unfortunately did not buy the extended warranty because we trusted that this American company would make a washer that would last longer than 3 yrs. This washer barely washes clothes, leaves a residue on them since there is no agitator, also constantly gets unbalanced or gives and error of LF which means water supply issue when there isnt one. My 15 yr old about has a heart attack when he uses the quick setting and his clothes arent done in an hour and a half. Ive even resorted to turning the thing on to just rinse and spin so things get done sooner, still the stupid washer just sits. I would sell it but I dont want to pass on the pain, so its going to the dump to or to Goodwill cause its not worth the headache. Too bad you cant trust an American company to make a good product. Since that time, the fridge needed repair, the microwave door had to be replaced and the range had to be repaired. Now the heating element on the microwave went and Whirlpool will not fix the problem. We purchased the extended warranty through Whirlpool and they are saying it is not worth fixing. We paid $470.00 plus tax and install and now all they are giving us is $348.00. Since we have had repeated problems with these appliances, why not just fix the problem or replace the microwave??? What Whirlpool customer service told me was that would be options for us if we did not purchase their extended warranty. Tell me, is that fair? The cost to repair the microwave was $388.00 and they are giving us $348.00 - do you not think for the $40.00 difference, it would be worth to spend it to keep us happy. We will never purchase another Whirlpool product again and will tell everyone we know not to buy their products.

I purchased this water heater (Model# E2F40RD045V, Serial# 1122T461615, Product# 0826354) 1 week ago (Oct. 17, 20011) and it has been installed only after 5 days (Oct 25, 2011). It has yet to heat the water more than warm. I called Lowes (Oct. 21, 2011) and tried to return it only to be told that I would have to get an authorization number from Whirlpool. I called and Whirlpool wanted me to trouble shoot the problem. I had to have an OHM meter and amp meter to do so, which means that I needed to have an electrician present to do these test because I dont own any of these things. I was then told that they could send someone to my house, but I may end up paying for this. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that she would tell me the same thing. The call ended when I told them that I guess I would have to do the best I could because I was not getting any help from them. Out of desperation, I went back to Lowes and got a new heating element to try to fix this problem myself. I installed it and it still did not work. I called back the next day and still did not get any help, I was only told that I needed to have these meters on hand to trouble shoot the problem. Why is it that I have to do this? The lady did not seem to care that I did not have any way to handle this problem. I felt that this problem was my burden and not Whirlpools for putting out a defective product. I have in my home about 5 new Whirlpool major appliances and have been a loyal customer for many years but after this incident, never again. I will also be advising my friends how Whirlpool has treated me. I am very disappointed with your customer service or should I say lack of customer service. I was told that had I said that the water heater was leaking, I would have been given an authorization number immediately! I still do not have any hot water as I sit here typing this complaint. I am sure that Whirlpool is really concerned as you have my phone number and address and your representatives are aware that I am very upset but still no one has even tried to help me other than telling me that I have to trouble shoot the problem. I have had my Kitchenaid dishwasher since April 2010. I have the receipt as proof. I have recently had a professional out to replace a seal in the door, the gasket on the vent and the unit still leaks. The only places left are the metal body and door. I called to say I wanted the warranty honored. I was told one of their servicers had to verify. I agreed. Their servicer came out at the agreed time. He did not bother to protect my hardwood floors from his muddy shoes. He also absolutely wreaked of cigarette smoke. He proceeded to try and push me into paying for the same repairs I had done last week because he would not warranty the parts under warranty unless I paid him to replace parts a week old. I told him he was here to verify the leak not push me into more repair costs. At this point, he began slamming his tool box together and exclaimed Thanks for wasting my time. I called the Kitchenaid warranty number in my pamphlet to see about the warranty. They refused without making me pay for their esteemed professional to do the same work, a real professional already did. The best I was given was 30% off a new appliance. When they wont honor their 20 yr warranty on the one I have, telling me their unprofessional is so much better than the one I used who did protect my floors and treated me with respect, I have no faith left in this company or its servicers. I purchased my Whirlpool washer and dryer Cabrio Platinum model in September of 2014 from Lowes and have never been so disappointed in a washer in my life. Not only was it the most expensive washer and dryer set I have ever purchased but it is the absolute worst in performance. It has destroyed most of my clothes and linens, doesnt get them as clean as my former Samsung front-loader, and is constantly twisting up the clothes, getting out of balance and requiring me to adjust the clothes once or twice during each wash cycle. We had it looked out. The motor is burning out. I called Whirlpool and explained the issue. There is nothing they can do. It is over 12 months. Really? They cant stand behind their product? I understand if it was a small part or such but an entire motor burning out in just over a year? I know that not all products can be perfect, some times mistakes slip through the line. I guess it was silly of me to expect a company in todays age to stand behind their name and product. Obviously, with this company, it is buyer beware.

We purchased 4.0 cu. ft. Cabrio Top Load Washer with 6th Sense Technology M
We purchased 4.0 cu. ft. Cabrio Top Load Washer with 6th Sense Technology MODEL WTW7340XW2 on 11/20/2011. We are a small family of 3 so use of the machine is light. We noticed a strange sound and some leaks a week ago and called in a technician recommended on the Whirlpool website. To our horror he informed us that we need to replace the tub bearing assembly, rotor and stator - to a cost of $1095! This machine is not even 3 years old. Did we buy a lemon? I called Whirlpool. They were simply not interested. The online chat person sent me to the Whirlpool Customer Experience Team where I was told that I should buy an insurance plan to cover the costs of repairs. They then sent me on to the insurance department who want me to pay $338 to buy a repair plan to have the machine fixed. And then referred me to the Manufacturing division when I wanted to know how to escalate the problem - and if you call that number - there is no option to deal with problems - seriously?!? Is this what I should expect when buying the Whirlpool brand?
