Whirlpool fridge with serial # EL2427127 started on fire. Flame started on own but filled entire basement with electrical fire smoke. All terminals on compressor completely melted off. After researching online, I see Im not the first. Unbelievable.

I bought a HD Whirlpool in April 2011 and I hate the machine. It does not use enough water to wash clothes. I open the lid every wash and cannot believe Whirlpool can label this as a washing machine; it spits a little water now and then. I am demanding Lowes and Whirlpool to replace the washer. I have used two Kenmore washer for 45 years and I never had any problems. I use hot water to kill germs -- well there is not enough water to drown a fly. How can these manufacturers sell such product and then give the consumer such a hard time when they ask for help. Dark clothes have white residue stuff all over them. I have to hand-wash a lot of my clothes. I have never in 45 years had to do this. I am so mad that Whirlpool is taking everyone for suckers. Now I am sure that there are a lot of people who just never take the time to complain; too much trouble and just go buy another brand of machine. We consumers need to demand that manufacturers sell quality products.

The Whirlpool washer and dryer I bought new four years ago has been nothing but a giant on-going headache. No end to the error codes for washing machine. The dryer knobs broke off after two years. The washing machine works only when it feels like it, and important pieces that get a lot of wear are made of plastic. I will never buy Whirlpool again. Ever. Good luck to anyone that is brave enough to buy Whirlpool appliances. I have to say it again: Whirlpool is garbage, junk and unreliable.

This started Sept 27 2017 when the ordered online electric range 30 inch slide in oven Whirlpool brand was delivered. When using the oven, a noxious diesel smell filled my home, despite multiple attempts to burn in the unit as advised. 10 days later after still trying to burn it in fumes got worse. I called corp who then sent over a tech to look at it and the tech shared with me when he arrived that he was the wrong person since he cant smell due to an old injury! He admitted he smelled a chemical when it first went on but it went away for him but might have went away due to is impaired smelling ability. I called Corp back and they totally agreed something was wrong with it that could not be repaired and the unit should be picked up and I should be paid back that day it is picked up. They said in a few days which later turned in 2-3 weeks out and counting... I filed a complaint with the BBB due to the ongoing issues. Corp office said they would pick up unit and at that time hand deliver me my refund in full. At first the pick up was weeks out but after BBB was notified they came yesterday 10/18/17 and removed unit, but no check! I called Corp again this time asking why I did not get my money as they promised she said someone dropped the ball, and that someone should have told me that since they had to get someone non-local to get it that they will mail me the check in 14-21 days! She said I see in the notes. They told you they would hand deliver you your refund so they should have called you about the change.So here I sit... No oven in use since Sept 18 and no money back to buy one for weeks yet. I have never been told, despite my requests as to what the chemical was that I was burning off in my home and exposed my family to over 10 days which we had headaches and nausea from (despite windows opened and fans going at full blast). Only that it might have come from the manufacturer or process. This company isnt the only one who has had issues on occasion with a defect in this never-ending chemical smell but the lack of regard of my safety concerns and failure to stand up to what they offered to do (poorly handled response) is simply wrong and bad business. I have not dealt with Whirlpool regarding matters ever and have very little of their products in my home so unsure if this is unique or standard with them. I wont buy their products anymore because I am less than very dissatisfied with my experience. I may have been the only unlucky person having this kind of response from this company but felt the need to share.

Whirlpool side by side refrigerator/freezer Model #GSF26C5EXB. LESS than five years old and the ice maker is not working! Bought at Lowes. Great service. Out of warranty now. Lowes sent a repairman and it has to be replaced. I called Whirlpool and they said sorry. THATS IT? Ice makers dont ever last five years now? Unreal!

I purchased this stove in September and I am very unhappy with the Aqualift. The service department said I would have to probably do the cleaning process about 7-8 times for it to really work. I find that very unacceptable would never recommend this to anyone.

Buy a new in a box dishwasher, it is not working, not a good customer services, I wait 1 week for a tech to come and fixed, and I will wait to tech to come back with parts to be fix. Company not replace the unit, I pay for something that is not working. Very frustrated for the time waste. 3 day off from work.

I purchased a Whirlpool Water Heater Model # ND50T122-403 on March 4, 2011 from Lowes. I had it installed by Lowes and it included a 12 YEAR Manufacturers (WHIRLPOOL) WARRANTY, plus I purchased an additional 11 YEAR EPP (Extended Protection Plan) WARRANTY. About 3 weeks ago I had no hot water so I went down to my basement to check the water heater and it displayed 7 single blinks followed by a 3 second pause, which is a flammable vapor sensor lock-out code. I made sure there was no flammable vapor in the area, turned off the gas and pulled out the plug then called Lowes since I have an active warranty with them. They said I had to wait 3 business days for them to call back to set-up an appointment to have it repaired. I waited 3 business days including the weekend and no one called me back by the end of the 3 business days, so I called Lowes back and they set-up an appointment for a video store owner with a plumbing license to come over and try to fix it. Finally I thought I would have hot water after over 2 weeks without it, but the plumber started taking it apart and about an hour later said he needed to order a part and he would be back another day when he gets the part. He came back 2 days later to install the part and fix it, but he could not fix it. He called Whirlpool to report the issue and Whirlpool told him they would not honor the warranty because my basement was not safe. He then told me he would call Lowes to let them know about Whirlpools position and call me back. So when he called me back he said Lowes said the current warranty was under Whirlpool and their warranty was only effective after the initial 12 year manufacturers warranty was up, so they would not help any further. So after only 4 1/2 years with a 12 year manufacturers warranty and an additional 11 year extended protection warranty that I purchased from Lowes, Whirlpool will not honor the warranty that came with this water heater. I am going to take this to small claims court. Whirlpool and Lowes have terrible customer service policies. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product and I will NEVER again shop at Lowes. Please do NOT EVER buy a Whirlpool water heater! TAKE YOUR CLAIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT FOR SATISFACTION! Maybe an attorney will put in another class action suit against Whirlpool and/or Lowes.

We bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator about three years ago. Because of space, we had to purchase one with a top freezer and also with no ice maker. First of all we didnt realize it was much deeper than our old Kenmore so it stuck out further into the kitchen space. That was not that big of an issue. At first everything ran great including the top freezer compartment, or so we thought. Then we noticed that when we had ice cream in the freezer and put water in ice cube trays to freeze, the ice cream would get very very soft. This continued to the point that now anytime I put water in there to freeze ice cubes I have to turn up the temperature to keep the ice cream frozen. Once the ice cubes are froze, there is no problem, but they take at least six hours to freeze. Then one day when a young child slammed the refrigerator door closed, the freezer door popped open about an eighth of an inch and then closed again. So, I tried it. Anytime you close the refrigerator door a little too hard the freezer door pops open. I then tried the dollar bill test to check the strength of the seal. The bill pulled right out of the door with very little effort. So, is the problem bad seals, bad design, or bad quality control, or what. How can I be assured that the frozen foods in the freezer are being frozen as solid as they should be. I know they dont freeze solid enough in the freezer door. I will eventually dump this refrigerator and go get another Frigidaire. If we have to get one with a bottom freezer, we will just have to rearrange our kitchen to accommodate it. But, having to turn the temp up and down every day is ridiculous. I have had issues with food close to the walls in all refrigerators slightly freeze, but never had an issue with keeping things cold enough. I will never buy another Whirlpool refrigerator, stove, or anything else for that matter. I have always had good luck with Frigidaire, so I will stick with what I know works.

We are doing a kitchen remodel and I found the best price here. I was a little skeptical to order a range online, but I did go look at the exact range in the store and decided I would give it a try. I received email updates about the product and during delivery, I received 2 calls.... one to tell me approximately what time the range would be delivered and another when the driver was about 20 minutes away. All around good service.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer in 2009. It makes awful sounds during the draining and spinning cycles, has started leaking in the past month and now, several error codes and will not finish a load of laundry. We have a family of eight and thought that we had bought a very dependable product for what we need. Boy, we were wrong!

I purchased my new washing machine in September 2011. When I removed the clothes from the washer after the first wash, I noticed that there was soap on several of the items. I ran them through another rinse and spin cycle, and there was still soap on several items. In an effort to avoid this problem, I no longer use the soap dispenser tray, and use the bulky cycle to get more water in the tub. Like most of the others, the clothes are tangled and stretched from one side of the tub to the other. Also, it takes 1 hour and 36 minutes to run a complete cycle. The manager of Sears tells me, that because of government regulations, that in a few years, you will not be able to buy any other type of washer. I purchased this machine, because it was highly recommended by Consumers Report magazine. I filed a complaint with them eight days ago, but have not had a response.

Washer MOD WTW4800XQ2 - I purchased this washer about 2 years ago after my 15 year old washer died. I have always used Whirlpool appliances as well as my Mother that recommended Whirlpool to me some 40 years ago. I knew when this machine was delivered and set up that I was in for change. It locks down to where you cant get in it for too long of a period of time. I am a really busy person, and HATE this, but if that were the only issue, I could accept that. We live on a farm and our clothes get really soiled especially in the warmer months. I like to pre-soak white clothes, NOT happening with this machine!!! It ends the cycle after about 30 minutes so I have to start over, wasting water. But the main issue is the machine tries to level the clothes, or whatever it is doing on its own before filling with water. I wash a lot of clothes!!! I am going to say that 90% of the loads of clothes that I have washed with this machine have been off balance, banging around bad. I then have to wait for it to unlock so that I can pull out the dripping wet clothes and replace to try and get it balanced. I am 59 years old, I got married at 14. So Ive been washing clothes for a LONG time... This machine is junk to say the least. I recently house sat for family. They purchased a new GE washer and dryer a little bit before I got these, wonderful machines!!! I washed dog beds, sheets, blankets and tons of clothes during this time. WOW, I had forgot that washing clothes didnt have to be torture. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product. This washer has exhausted me. I purchased it at Lowes on tunnel rd in Asheville, NC. Please, if you havent already, junk this design... Its gonna lose your loyal customers. This complaint has nothing to do with where I purchased it. I did not contact the store as they did not design the machine. I did NOT want to pay for service on a poorly designed product...

Bought this because it was a Whirlpool product and liked how it was supposed to work at the store, HhGregg in Downingtown. Anyway one week in we started having problems, clothes not being washed well, and constant problems of dripping wet clothes, like they were never spun at all. Would have to readjust all the clothes, respin, most times we have to that that every time we wash clothes and have to respin more than once and even then, clothes have too much water left in them, so it takes forever to get our clothes dry. We have a service contract with Sears, we have repairmen out a few times. Get told, dont wash towels in it, only do very small loads, supposed to be a large capacity washer, nothing wrong with it. Now its worse than ever, terrible product. I want a different washer, its rusting at the lid, its only at the most 2 yrs old, it was expensive and am very, very frustrated!!! I want what I paid For!!! Whirlpool, shame on you for putting out such crap.On to my next problem with a Whirlpool range, again bought it because it was a Whirlpool. We had our Kitchen remodeled and the range I had was white. We needed a stainless steel range, Bought the Gold series AquaLift convection oven. This is the most horrible piece of crap. The convection oven does not cook as a convection should, food takes forever to cook on convection, reg feature works faster and hotter than the convection. In my old range I used the convection feature always unless I was baking a cake. Then used the AquaLift feature to clean my oven, it was not dirty , but I like a sparkling oven, so followed the directions, set it to clean. It looked the same after it supposedly cleaned the oven. Nothing was cleaned, tried it again, it was a little more dirty, something had spilled. I wiped out the oven, used the AquaLift self cleaning feature again, same results, old oven, self clean, the oven after a cleaning cycle, only ash was left, wipe it out, it was spotless. So I called for repair, the repair guy was here about 5-6 different times, tried this and that, replaced a heating element in the oven, turned the temperature up in the oven, so now when I bake, I have to figure out what temp I need to put it on. Tried that, even admitted that the AquaLift feature was a bust. I contacted Whirlpool, I want it replaced with a different model. This range is about I and a half years old, want to replace it but again was very expensive. Its a terrible product, it cant be a coincidence, that both newer appliances made by Whirlpool are terrible!!!! Combined they cost me almost 3000.00 dollars. I feel that I have been ripped off definitely did not get the great products that I thought I was buying. No response from Whirlpool, no satisfaction. I want them both replaced or my money back, take them out of here, they are useless!!!!! I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again, and have told everyone I know about the terrible quality of these products.

I have a new Duet Washer and it is a nightmare. It keeps throwing the same F8 E1 code. The repair people have replaced five parts and been out four times. I feel like I have been scammed out of $900. I will never purchase a Whirlpool again ever!

I have had a plumbing company work on my Whirlpool water heater three times in the last two months. On the third visit, he told me all the problems customers have had with Whirlpool water heaters. I decided to call Whirlpool for warranty purposes. The unit is three years old. I was told that it was the gas valve, and I was given a free one from Lowes. After installing the new valve, it still did not work properly. After troubleshooting with a technician, I was told it was the orifice. I have had to do all the labor myself, and I dont know how long this is going to go on. I have heard Whirlpool will continue to give you the runaround (from the plumbing company and Lowes salesmen) and will continue to give you the runaround and not replace the unit. They are wearing me down. I have been without hot water for three weeks with no end in sight. I am ready to give up and just buy another water heater but certainly not a Whirlpool.

LED Freezer Lamp stopped after eight months, $14, not covered under warranty. OEM water filters are costly. Icemaker is noisy, ice dispenser chute clogs. When refrigerator was set at 38-40 degrees the eggs and most top and middle shelf items partially froze. Noisy compressor. Good price from Home Depot sale in Nov. 2019.

Have two Whirlpool refrigerators. Both perform well. Love the glass shelves, which make it easy to see whats inside and to keep clean. The newest one has the water dispenser inside and not in the door. Would probably not even consider another brand.

In 2012 we bought three new Whirlpool kitchen appliance back in 2012. The refrigerator has needed a drain pan replacement, and two air diffuser replacements. Of course, both air diffuser issues occurred just outside the one year warranty. Then the range oven has required two spark modulator replacements – again just outside the one year warranty. Whirlpool’s solution: buy another 1 year warranty to get it fixed; or buy a new Whirlpool appliance at a discounted price.

I purchased French door refrigerator WRF989SDAE00 3/2014 from BrandSmart to upgrade from a side by side Kenmore purchased in 2005 with my home (no mechanical issues with my Kenmore and thank goodness I kept it in the garage). Within 2 months the freezer would not stay cold enough to freeze ice cream and Whirlpool sent an authorized repair company (FLAMINGO APPLIANCE SERVICE) to replace the compressor. Well this became a reoccur theme every 2 - 2 months the refrigerator has an issue with maintaining temperatures cold enough to freeze ice (so puddles of water all over the floor from melted ice in the ice maker) and forget about buying ice cream. We have not purchased ice cream since the second time this piece of junk broke down.This is my FOURTH REPAIR (3 COMPRESSORS, 1 EVAPORATOR, AND, 1 CONTROL PANEL). All but the last repair occurred during the warranty period but Whirlpool refuses to replace the unit. Side note: I also purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher the same day as my refrigerator and it also stopped working within the same week of the first refrigerator repair. So far I have not had any issues with the dishwasher. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES... NEVER!!!

Purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater from Lowes. Heater has 6 year warranty. Hot water heater is 1 year old and the pilot would not light. Contacted Whirlpool warranty department to what the failure cause. A new control was sent and replaced by a qualified journeyman plumber; still not working. Called whirlpool warranty department, told control valve must be faulty. We have gone 5 days with no hot water. I am not waiting another 5 days to get hot water. I am having the plumber take out this worthless Whirlpool heater and haul to the scrap metal business. That is where I should have sent it from the get go. Dont purchase a Whirlpool product. The money should be spent on a product that works and will last.

My two-year old Whirlpool Duet Front Load washing machine is ripping my familys clothes. When I went online and saw all the other customers with the same issue, I contacted Whirlpool. Although the contact said that he knew I was frustrated, he could do nothing but send a repairman at a cost of $129 for me and then I would also have to pay for parts. I informed him that the online sites are saying that this is just a temporary fix. He pleaded ignorance and could offer me no other alternative. This is the last Whirlpool or Maytag product we will ever buy... and letting others know about the lack of cooperation.

This refrigerator well paid for itself. I had over 25 years and it was still in good working condition. I had to leave it behind. I moved to a place where fridge was already. I hated to leave it behind. ‘twas offered to Goodwill but they never answered the phone for it. I surely hope someone got it.

Purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer (WFW75HEFW0) in September 2017. Have had 4 service calls on washer for not completely washing clothes, leaving excess water after cycles complete, excessive wrinkling of clothes even on non wrinkle clothes, odor on some clothes due to incomplete water fill on some cycles. Factory position since there are no error codes washer is fine. Asked factory to exchange washer and upgrade model which we would pay difference. Denied. Looking for another brand and will seek legal assistance in the matter.

I purchased this Whirlpool WTW7800XW2 washer expecting it to last many years. As a senior citizen, I spent well over $700 on this model because of its large capacity and water saving feature. It has been in service for just over two years and has had limited use. Last week the glass top popped up and I notice that it broke at the hinge. This is definitely a design flaw. The washer has a lock feature and with the broken top, it is useless. I called Whirlpool and the customer service rep said she could sell me a new $250.00 lid at a 25% discount. Looking online, I found that hundreds of consumers have this same problem. Whirlpool refuses to acknowledge the defect. The customer service rep indicated that I should have bought an extended warranty. This is my last Whirlpool appliance ever!

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator (dbl dr) from Home Depot and received it on August 4th. When I went to clean it I found that blood had spilled from a roast and had accumulated all around the inside of the plastic shelf seal. It was impossible to clean. Water just ran inside the seal and diluted the blood. Then, it leaked all over my kitchen. I had a serviceman here for another problem, sent by Whirlpool. He said hed try to get them to replace the shelf. Never heard from him again. I called Whirlpool today. Was told I could buy another shelf. Otherwise, they didnt care. Said it wasnt a functional problem. This is a definite health hazard. Whirlpool used to be wonderful. What happened? I have a dryer, washer, and water tank about to need replacing. Whirlpool wont see a dime from me. (Home Depot, either.) This has become a very bad company. Ive contacted the NY Dist. Attys office. Meanwhile, I have a fridge with a major shelf missing for the holidays and for the foreseeable future.

Cabrio is our washer and dryer. Dryer had no issues in the last 7 years. Washer constantly throw UL or unbalanced error and stops. Rearranging clothes only works for another few minutes. First time under warranty, tech came and fixed it. Second time without warranty, I cleared some loose socks between the tub. Third time same problem. YouTube suggested to change the springs on four corners that hold the tub. $25 and problem fixed. Basically, if you are not an informed consumer you are screwed for $$ silly stuff.

Never worked proper form the start, always condensation, bottom froze and top unthawed and vice versa. No help from store or company. During any temp change the fresh food would freeze and top unfreeze and no matter how long you waited and changed settings. Junk.

I purchased a Whirlpool (Cabrio) Washer on March 1 2018. I previously had a Roper top loader with an agitator that was 22 years old. I used that washer for that many years and washed clothes 6 out of the 7 days of the week. Probably at least 20 loads a week. I never had a problem with it getting my clothes wet & clean. It never left them dirtier after washing them than they were before washing them. I am so disappointed in this washer!!! I can see it will not do any good to complain to Whirlpool because apparently they dont care about their customers. They think theyre products are perfect when they are far from it. I plainly told the associate I wash clothes every day. Really dirt clothes. (My son is a mechanic). I need a good washer. I can wash them by hand better than this washer does. I am very thankful I have not paid the full price for this washer yet. I will be calling them to come pick it up when my next payment is due. I will be going to one of the local consignment or thrift stores and purchasing myself an old timey top loader washer with an agitator for $100 or less. Whirlpool I had high hopes with this product and would have been buying a dryer to match soon but I believe I will stick to my Roper products or anything other than Whirlpool.

I Purchased 9 year warranty, Whirlpool water heater and installed it. Started having problems in the first month. It started giving a water temp too high error code, yet water was barely warm. Called Whirlpool. They had me do a bunch of diagnostic checks. Determined it was a bad control module. Sent me a new one. I installed it. Within a week or two, same problem. Called Whirlpool. This time they sent a Tech out. Everything on water heater tested normal, nothing wrong with any part. The tech finally, found a TSB that indicated that you couldnt have any re-circulating valves or systems connected to the water heater. We had one to keep hot water at the taps. So I removed the re-circulating kit and water heater worked for a few months. Then same problems, it keeps going into error. Error code indicates water temp too high, but water is barely warm to cold. Call whirlpool several times, they send out another control module and heating elements and I replace them. All work temporarily. Finally replace control module again, and it works for several months. Then back to error codes. Not always the same code. Sometimes it is water temp too high, other times it is check one of the heating elements. We have lived with it like that for about 3 years. We get hot water by resetting the water heater several times a day. Well, about 3 months ago it started tripping the circuit breaker in the electrical panel. I called Whirlpool and explained what has been going on since I bought their piece of junk. They will not do anything unless I call and pay for a service tech to come diagnose and repair the problem. They will provide the parts for the repair. I am not a certified appliance repairman, but I do handy man repair work for a living and do appliance repairs quite regularly. I am capable of doing every test that the repairman will do, but Whirlpool insists that I pay to get their defective product repaired. Then if I have problems again in a couple of months, I will have to pay a service tech again. I have friend that had this same water heater. I replaced the control module on his once. I was telling him about my woes and he told me he got fed up with all the problems and ate the cost and got a new water heater, not a Whirlpool. I am going to call Whirlpool one more time and then I am sure I am going to do what my friend did and put the money I would spend on a service tech into a new water heater. It will not be a Whirlfool.

Whirlpool duet steam front loader - The rubber gasket ripped about a year ago and cost over $400 to have a tech come and repair. Then the water level switch got bad and cost another couple hundred. A year later, the rubber gasket ripped again. What a junk washer. I am ready for a lawsuit because Whirlpool will not replace it.

When purchasing a new home, the almost new Whirlpool double-door ice-dispensing stainless steel refrigerator came with the kitchen. This beautiful-looking fridge worked well for close to three years, but gave up the ghost shortly after its warranty expired; designed obsolescence perhaps? Problem was, it would have cost almost as much to repair as it would have to purchase a new fridge with a warranty. So, thats what I did, via a local big-box store. I bought a single door floor model, with the Whirlpool ending up as scrap, the whole incident leaving a bad taste in my mouth. If you have your grandmothers old fridge that still runs, keep it!

I purchased a Model WRF989SDAB01 Whirlpool refrigerator with the French doors and had it delivered in March 2014. The evaporator developed a refrigerant leak in May 2015. Whirlpool said it was not their problem since it was over a year since I bought it. The technician said this is a problem with this model. I am having it repaired under the extended warranty that I bought. One of my concerns is that the unit has two evaporators so the other one will probably start leaking any time. What a piece of junk. Dont buy Whirlpool. Their quality and service stinks!

Whirlpool Du1100xtpb3 dishwasher: The spring on the latch keeps coming off (3 times in two months). The service repair man charged me for replacing the latch when all that was wrong with it was the spring. That being said, now we are fixing it ourselves. For your information, there is a paper in the bottom of the dishwasher that tells you what is wrong by how the lights are flashing. So each time we replace the spring, we have to reprogram it by pushing a sequence of buttons. Still, I cant figure why the spring wont stay on. Help me if you can.

We bought the Whirlpool top loader washer and the drum broke down and after several attempted fixes it was replaced by new one as we were being financed through a business. So here comes the new one - same exact washer. Not only did it not clean well (normal soiling) then it goes to ul which means not balanced... not because clothes arent but because the thing that balances - it went only after a yr!! It would also keep filling draining again to no drain leaving clothes SOPPING wet... So very disappointed to say the least. What a piece of junk this washer is!! Its going to the curb tonight and being replaced by GE - NO MORE WHIRLPOOL AGAIN !!

Self-cleaning oven system DOESNT WORK AT ALL! The company rep I talked with said the system only works on lightly soiled oven and doesnt clean at all on the oven top or sides. When I explained that my oven was less than lightly soiled (I rarely use it) and that I had run the cleaning cycle twice and none of the soil was affected. Apparently the company is aware of this problem and I believe customers should be made aware of it BEFORE purchasing. I was told there was nothing they could do because my appliance is out of warranty. I asked if they had received other complaints and was told they had. I am not surprised.

I have owned the Whirlpool Cabrio for one year now. I cannot express enough what a complete waste of money this machine is. It literally does not wash clothes in even the most basic interpretation of washing. Clothes are almost in the same position as when they were put in the machine. Dont even bother with stain removal, it just rubs stains in and makes them worse. Seriously beware. Very expensive and not worth one dime. Im replacing with the Maytag. I should have stayed with in the first place. I will NEVER buy Whirlpool again. Must have skipped the entire product development on this one. I wouldnt even give it a one star review but the submission wouldnt process without it. WASTE OF $$ DO NOT BUY.

My washer worked less than a year. I finally called Whirlpool and they basically said, were a big company and you must for the rusty, broken drive shaft, pay for all new computer face plate, and service repair. I contacted the FTC and they told me they needed more complaints in order to make them do a recall on Cabrios. Good luck!

I would like someone to explain to me why the control panel I.e. brains of the dishwasher which is around water is so sensitive to WATER. My daughter is the owner of the house and purchased this dishwasher last summer (2016) and within weeks we were having issue with the sensors. This supposedly was not covered under warranty (it was a WATER ISSUE). So now a dishwasher which cost over 700.00 is a door stop!! Where is people’s common sense... yes Im over 60 years old and very frustrated with the money that was spent for such an inferior product. Imagine having a dishwasher sensitive to water. The people who made it should give their heads a shake. Frustrated grandmother.

To be fair to Whirlpool, I have contacted them but have not given them time to respond. I feel so strongly about this issue that I want to get the message about this company product out. About 2 years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool fridge, stove, and dishwasher. I have had so many problems with the stove (WFG540H0AS0) that it has pissed me off, actually. First, the knobs that control the stove top melted. MELTED! We had to replace them to the tune of $30.00 each and there are 5. Why would anyone use knobs that cannot withstand heat on a stove?! News flash, I cook on my stove. Therefore, there will be heat used. Second, the oven keeps shutting off in the middle of cooking my holiday meal. Of course, this made my turkey take much longer than usual. Today, it shut off in the middle of cupcakes. Third, the oven does ignite without turning it on and off multiple times. So we called the repair person who told us to replace the ignition switch for it. This helped for about one month. Then the problem started again. I just emailed Whirlpool and I will call them next business day. I am so disappointed with Whirlpool. I thought they had a good reputation for quality products.

I bought fridge model WRS571CIDm02. The worse company in the world. Since I bought this fridge have a consistent problem with the evaporator fan. It makes noise. Geek Squad came 3 time in 3 years to replace the same part. Now the 4th time I ran out of warranty and Whirlpool dont care. On top of that the stainless steel is rusting. It is not stainless steel. It is a nightmare. Avoid at all cost. If there is zero I would give it to them.

The dishwasher keypad failed after 1.5 years, went through 2 gas ranges, peeling paint and orange flame in less than a year. Now dealing with the washer, the pump is spitting out white plastic after less than a year. No more Whirlpool in this house.

I purchased a Whirlpool CABRIO H2Low top load washing machine approximately 12-15 months ago from Lowes in Columbus, GA. I have been very dissatisfied with it from the beginning. I contacted Lowes and discussed the machine and expressed my complaints. I realize that it has a sensor and fills the machine with the amount of water according to the weight of the clothes but have found that regardless of what cycle I place the machine in, it doesnt place over 2 inches of water in the machine. It does not clean the linens, under garments or any type clothes. In fact, it has ruined my designer clothes. It is impossible to get the wrinkles out with an iron. Im very disappointed in the service we have received with this washer.

We moved into a new home in December. We purchased the home too late to choose our appliances or upgrade over what they install. From the start the oven has been aggravating in both the noise that it emits and the variance in actual temperature. We have had the Appliance Service out twice for these ovens. We are told that the noise which sounds like a wind tunnel is normal. It is there to keep the circuit board cool especially during the cleaning process. The noise is quite aggravating and is amplified throughout our open floor plan to all parts of the house.The temperature variance has been calibrated to be more accurate, but Im not convinced it is on the right temperature yet. I continue to give it a try, but Im not sure if the noise of the fan in the oven is making me feel negative towards using the oven at any time. We hate to have to replace these new units with another set of double ovens, but I doubt if I can continue with this noise much longer. It will definitely not be a Whirlpool or KitchenAid double oven of any sort.

Efficient. I like the look and the controls. I trust the Whirlpool brand, but have purchased other brands. This is probably the best dishwasher I have owned. My only regret is that it is louder than expected.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer in May of 2009. I do laundry for only 3 adults, so I never run more than 3-4 loads a week. It constantly is off-balance when spinning and requires positioning the load again several times before it will continue its cycle. Now 5 to 8 minutes into it filling with water, it stops filling and beeps, and code F shows up on the screen. Also, during the spin cycles, it is very loud and fast. It sounds like it is about to take off anytime. I called customer service to no avail. They just wanted me to schedule a repairman to come out and fix it at my expense. Now, I know why they only give a one-year warranty - they know it will last one year but not much longer. Im from a generation of people that is used to appliances lasting 10 - 14 years and the company stood behind their products and didnt ask you to buy an expensive extended warranty for the 2nd year and so on. If inferior products were not manufactured, there would be no need for an extended warranty. Anyway, Im not going to put any money (I was quoted a $129 charge by Whirlpools service department just for the diagnosis of the problem which didnt include the labor or parts costs.) into a washer that will probably continue to have problems and become a money pit. Consequently, I will never buy nor recommend anyone buy Whirlpool appliances. It would get quite expensive buying a new washer every 3 years or buying the extended warranty plan. The matching dryer had no major problems, but a couple of years ago, I had to have the door changed from opening from right to left to opening from left to right because the door catch broke on the right side. Hopefully, nothing else will go wrong with it in the near future.

We have had our catalytic oven explode into millions of hot pieces again for the 3rd time. Contacting them they sold me an extended warranty which Im trying to cancel and have been trying since 30th Mar to contact on ALL of their lines. It is permanently on hold or engaged. We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer from Lowes 4 years and 11 months ago. It apparently sprang a freon leak somewhere... repair person cannot tell until they take it into their workshop which will cost $300 - 400 just to find! And then there is a strong possibility that the compressor is toast. I called the company and they were not willing to help out at all. Why should a refrigerator only last 5 years (technically less)? I am not buying another Whirlpool and am looking for refrigerators that have a longer warranty on their compressors - LG which has 10 years! Whirlpool cant do that????

The first day I set foot in IKEA changed my life, innovative and sensible and affordable. Some years later I had the opportunity to remodel a kitchen and I immediately thought of IKEA. I used their online planner, researched the appliances and knew that they were made by Whirlpool and that they offered a kitchen package discount if I bought 3 or more appliances with all the cabinetry. So I hurriedly designed the entire kitchen from top to bottom with IKEA.Included in the design was my center piece, my 5 burner Praktfull Pro Gas/Convection oven range with stainless steel backsplash and top of the line hood fan, basically a thing of beauty! I loved it and I visited the store several times to look at it. I finally bought everything, and installed it. Absolutely the most beautiful kitchen in the world.We have a historic building and were on several historic tours, interviewed for the newspaper, our kitchen was the highlight of the tour. My gas range drew oooos and awwws. The range is an exceptional appliance, beautiful and amazingly efficient, easy to clean…I was in love. Then one day it happened, the love affair was quickly over, devastatingly over. The door fell off the oven and the hinge broke! Yes you heard me right, it fell off, but that is not the worst part. It appears that not only are there no parts to fix it… there IS no fix for it, period. The door fell off because it had been glued on!!! Yes glued on. Whirlpool and IKEA had actually manufactured an appliance that failed in less than 4 years of use and no apparent intention to ever provide service or parts for it. This is criminal and they should be fined for their neglect of the customer, their calculated malfeasance and fraud to the customer.So my beautiful kitchen has a big black angry cavity in it and now I must try to find a new range that will fit in the opening left by this piece of junk and also pay probably over $2,000 to $4,000 for it. Most of all I am heart broken, mad and distrustful of anything IKEA in the future. Oh and by the way, my entire house is IKEA, my living room, my patio, my bedroom (s), my library, my office! Ive spent thousands and thousands of dollars at IKEA. No more! THE FINAL INSULT: Ironically…. my kitchen was featured on the IKEA website!!!

We have an 8-year-old built-in Whirlpool Estate. It is probably as basic a model as you can get. It has been 100% reliable, and cleans the dishes well, even without rinsing. We do not buy expensive premium dishwasher detergents, either. So far, we have required no repairs. Basic features--heavy wash, normal wash, pots and pans. This dishwasher is standard (not extra large.) This is not a fancy dishwasher--just white. It is what matches the rest of the appliances. We have been lucky regarding the performance of such an inexpensive dishwasher. We paid about $250 for it.

Since my review I have been corresponding with Whirlpool Customer Service (Chris). First he sent me an email and mailed a replacement board to have us (the homeowner) install. Because the cover was so melted, the replacement board would not fit down into it. I emailed pictures to Chris. Once he saw the pictures, he called me and arranged for the water heater to be replaced since it was still under warranty. He even extended the authorization code so we would have plenty of time to arrange for a plumber to do the work. We had to pay for the plumber, but Whirlpool arranged for us to have a new water heater. Now I can sleep at night without worrying that my house would burn down if the old water heater caught fire. Chris was GREAT to work with. I had a direct number to him and called any time I had a question. I was very impressed with Whirlpools Customer Service.

This refrigerator was already part of the appliance package that came with the property. I dont think if I had a choice, I would choose this brand. The stainless steel finish has rust spots, the top shelf has cracked and it is less that 5 years old.

Purchased a whirlpool water heater 04/08/2005 and it worked for a short time. It had a 6 year warranty. I had to replace the thermocoupler assembly 1 time and it worked fine until last week. 09/02/1011, 4 months after warranty ran out, the unit started leaking severely from the top ? (Could of understood the bottom) here. After investigating further and being told to basically pound salt by the warranty number I called, I removed the top cove r(glued on by spray in insulation) and carved away the spray in insulation. All the bosses/threaded fittings for the inlet outlet and anode rod were all leaking under the insulation where it could not be seen! I know for a fact this unit was leaking long before the warranty expired! But because of the way it is built it is impossible to see it!. I strongly feel this was a manufacturing defect and there are hundreds if not thousands of these units in people houses all over the country!

I am writing to inform you of my dissatisfaction with the Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer I purchased in December of 2011. The model and serial numbers are YWED94HEXL0/M12602088 and WFW94HEXL2/c12350046. After using them for several months, I have found that the performance of the washer and dryer to be poor. I find the clothes do not come out very clean. I used my mother-in-law’s GE washer to compare and found that the clothes came out much cleaner in her washer. I was astonished at the difference. The white clothes, especially, were so much cleaner than in my washer in which white clothes, especially, come out looking like they have not even been washed. I am unhappy with the dryer as well, which continues to shrink my clothes a lot. I am distraught with this situation as this was a big purchase for me. I believe the quality of the washer and dryer is simply poor and I would like an exchange with a better quality set which actually cleans my clothes. I rely heavily on my washer/dryer as I have three young boys who go through a lot of clothes. Please let me know what can be done on your end. Thank you kindly.

It gets the job done. Its no power washer, but the dishes get pretty clean and dry nicely. I have no idea how dirty the dishes can be and still get cleaned, since Im weird and pre-wash my dishes. Its stainless steel and black, and has quite a few wash and dry settings, including an option for heated or unheated dry. The utensil rack is attached to the door of the washer and cant be moved. Two levels, and pretty easy to do dish tetris with. No offense to most standard dishwashers – I need a washer about 3 times the normal size due to a passion for cooking. Its slick and matches my ultra-modern, borderline-Swedish interior.

Whirlpool Cabrio - good consumer rating. Ive had it for 2 years. It does not clean well and the clothes does not smell clean even though I often clean the washer and leave the top open when Im not using it. Ive also had it service 3 times because the rotator keeps going off and makes a lot of noise. I bought an LG dishwasher for $1300 and it lasted 7 months and completely broke down less than a year and had to be replaced. After I bought a $400 Whirlpool. It does the same job and Ive had it for 2 years without any repairs.

I had a 14-year-old 40-gallon tank that was working great but I decided it was time to get it replaced. I picked out a Whirlpool 400-gallon tank stated to be good for a family of 3 to 4 people. Immediately after installation, I got complaints from family members that there was no enough hot water for morning showers. I turned up the thermostat to the maximum 140 degrees, but there was still wasnt enough hot water. The Whirlpool rep on the phone stated that 3 people cant take back-to-back showers. The unit wasnt designed for this. I told him the unit is advertised for a family of 3 to 4 and I have only 3. I asked where on the advertisement does it state 3 people cant take back-to-back showers? His response was, Where does it state you can? I asked his name and he would not give it to me. If 3 people cant take showers on a unit stated to be for a family of 3 to 4, something is wrong. Maybe it should be advertised as suitable for a family of 1. I will not buy a Whirlpool product again and I advise others to take my advice, go elsewhere.

Electrolux dishwasher model EI24ID50QS - My husband picked this dishwasher after reading all the good reviews. However, after having issues with it, I tried to post my review and it would not post. I think Electrolux is somehow only posting good reviews and leaving out the bad. I had a technician come out to see why it took 6 hours to go through the cycle along with not cleaning the dishes well. He said I needed to run hot water before starting the cycle and that I needed to prewash my dishes before loading.In other words, its not a dishwasher but a sanitizer. Keep in mind that I rinse my dishes before loading, so I dont have food particles stuck dry on my dishes. So, I used his method of running hot water before cycle is started. It works ok when you dont use your kitchen faucet during the dishwashing cycle. However, the minute you use your faucet, the dishwasher runs for 6 hours! This is the worst dishwasher ever! Not to mention, the control panel is so sensitive that if you accidentally touch a cycle to start, you cant get it to cancel. It is ridiculous. Dont buy! It will be your biggest mistake.

I bought a Whirlpool High Efficiency top load washer. It does not get the clothes clean. Dark clothes come out with spots all over them. There is not enough water to rinse out the dirt. It is left on the clothes in spots. I have to take my clothes to the laundry mat to wash them to get them clean. I am 74 years old and have used Whirlpool appliances all my life. I have dt3 rental houses I keep Whirlpool appliances in. But I wont be buying any more. I had to call the repair man one month after I bought it. He had to recalibrate the machine. If all you want to wash or maybe rinse out is a pair of slacks or a shirt, it might be o.k. but not a load of dirty clothes. It is just a JOKE.

I purchased dishwasher model #GU2800XTVT0 in May of 2009. Today, it leaked water all over and damaged my floor. My husband pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet and found that the motor had fallen off. It did not have a bracket to hold it in place and worked loose, which then disconnected a hose. I called the customer service but they wont do anything because it is beyond the 12 month warranty. It only lasted slightly more than two years. This is obviously a manufacturing defect and we were just unlucky enough that it failed after the warranty had expired. The most ironic thing is that my husband worked for Whirlpool for 20 years. There is no loyalty here.

I have read the reviews and agree with all negative comments. There is no point in investing in a high efficiency machine when I have to rewash many dark items several times in spite of always adding the extra rinse cycle. The clothes appear cleaner if I do not add liquid fabric softener, but as I prefer to use my clothes line when possible, I am unable to use fabric softener. Also, although it is supposed to be a high capacity machine, I only fill the tub about one third of its capacity, hoping this will increase the cleanliness of your clothes. It doesnt seem to help.I have contacted Whirlpool several times and the final suggestion was that pay for a technicians visit, approx. $100, plus extra for repairs. I have decided not to throw good money after bad and to buy another brand of washer. This is the WORST appliance I have ever owned even though it is supposedly high-end. PLEASE do not buy a Whirlpool appliance. If the Cabrio washing machine is an indication of the quality of their appliances, you will be wasting your money.

We purchased the Whirlpool Duet (front loader) washer and dryer in 2005 from Best Buy. We had many problems with the washer leaking around the front door. After several visits, Best Buy (in 2007) said we could pick out a new washer. We picked out the Whirlpool Cabrio. About 2 years later the mother board had to be replaced on the Cabrio. We are constantly getting F codes and have to unplug the washer several times for it to reset. It also sounds like a plane getting ready to take off and from what I read that repair is very costly. It has been leaking as well. I contacted Whirlpool today and they informed me that there was no recall on the machine and when I told them that there were many complaints for the same issues online, they said they do not base their recalls on blogs and to fix the problem, I would have to incur the cost. This machine is the biggest piece of junk that I have ever owned. I will be sure not purchase a Whirlpool in the future!

I have a lower end 4 burner model but I love it. Both power burns are in the front (I would change that) and electronic ignition. The oven temp is true and heats up quickly, I bake upwards of 700 cookies at Christmas time. Even being a lower end model it works great and I use it everyday. I think it is more energy efficient than the model that I replaced, which I replaced in order to have the electronic ignition. I would recommend this Whirlpool Range!

I purchased the fridge 2nd hand in 2013. It was 10 years old at the time. It is still going strong & I purchased it because it has a frost-free freezer that never needs de-frosting and I love the features & size - its the PERFECT FRIDGE. What I look for in a fridge is its colour - I like metal, steel grey colour. I go for reputation & quality. Frost free is the biggest factor that determines my purchases, long-term (10-year min.) warranty & guarantee, size.

We have all kitchen appliances from Whirlpool, but it is not what we choose, that was builders choice. We, two people, are living in his apartment for almost five years, and first problem was with oven - the window in the door it is leaking somewhere, then microwave - the all front door plastic is cracking (we using microwave maybe twice a week) and is it placed under the oven. Now we have problems with fridge - the plastic inside the fringe is cracking. We called Whirlpool customer support and Whirlpool do not even want to hear it about the problems - they just want that same authorized technician will came to your apartment to inspect these problems for $95, it is not even important whose fault it is. This company, Whirlpool really DO NOT CARE about the products, which they produce - as long it is sells... Now we know, we made smart decision - do not accept the washer and dryer (we get it from Bosh - it makes me happy). Now we just wait till all Whirlpools appliances will stop working and never ever look back to Whirlpool.

I bought a Whirlpool water heater in March, 2008. Last time (not sure if its last year or 2 years ago), I had an issue of the water not heating. They have someone came in to replace a part. Recently a humming sound (scary one) keeps on coming on from time to time. It took me some days to find where the sound is coming from, and there it is, my fairly new whirlpool water heater.They said it has something to do with the orifice. Since I am not a handyman, they recommended a service guy to come in, and I have to pay. I wonder how much more I have to spend on this heater? Yes Im saving gas consumption, but it will be spent for service anyway, and I have the added bonus of frustration. It is not worthy having it. I spent $1,400 for the heater and labor.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (WRT5L1SMYF00) in April 2012. Within 2-1/2 months, items were freezing on the shelves of the fridge box. I called Lowes & was told to call Whirlpool. I did as suggested & they sent out their service co. tech, Turner Consumer Services. I had all the same issues as everyone else in these reviews. i.e., food freezing where it shouldnt or spoiling when the stat was turned down even one notch. The staff at Whirlpool was as uncooperative as is possible. They smiled and lied to my face during phone calls - anything to get me off the phone. During the next 4 months (till Nov.), techs came out 5 times, never having the part needed on the truck. Always, it was my fault somehow that my stuff was freezing. Their chosen tech service employees were rude, condescending and without knowledge. Five service calls, 3 parts replaced and numerous calls to Turner & Whirlpool got me nothing but stalling tactics. I, too, was told that their tech had to fail the appliance before they could consider replacement - all lies. The tech, when he gets here, says hes not allowed to fail the unit. On the 11th of Nov., I awoke to totally frozen-up coils which kept the fridge box from cooling. We had company here from out of town. We moved out the new fridge, moved back in our 21-yr-old unit and got through till our visitors left. Whirlpool has been completely unresponsive to my appeals for some relief from this fiasco. I continue to receive requests from Whirlpool to purchase an extended warranty. Really? My husband & I went out to Sears and purchased a GE & have had no issues with it whatsoever. We are older, on a fixed income, and can ill afford to purchase 2 fridges in 7 months, not that Whirlpool cares. Not only will I never buy another Whirlpool product, but I will warn everyone possible to not buy from them. In fact, my intention is to use every possible forum, Facebook, Twitter, any & all review sites here in KC, MO or anywhere to put Whirlpool down. I am, however, considering one more expense - a lawyer.

Its very surprised how can machine develop such big problems within two years of use. I have paid him Rs. 350 as service charge. Serviceman mobile no. **. You are requested to do needful and arrange to replace faulty part within early period as fault lies with company. How can company supply such machine, which develops problem within two years. This machine is in extended warranty period.

These products (Dishwasher, refrigerator, cooktop, and wall ovens) are less than 5 years old and everyone of is in of repair. The cooktop and wall ovens the repair on them would equal the price of a new one. I feel that the products should last more just a few years and also their warranties. This tells me they do not stand by quality of their products.

Purchased front load washer & dryer 2009 - have had issues with the washer ever since. The last episode has taken 3 visits from repairman - they cant figure out what the problem is - wont finish a cycle (any of them) and locks up. Cant open the door without turning it off and then back on. But the load wont spin dry - leaves clothes wet. Already had the harness replaced a couple of years ago and now they replaced the flywheel (it was warped) thinking that was the problem. Nope. Still wont work & the repair company said they cant figure it out & neither can Whirlpool. Im very angry after reading all of these posts about Whirlpool. Not a happy customer. But what can you do???

I purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer from Best Buy. I purchased one on sale that was a great value. The delivery and set-up went well. However, the model I have had a loud vibrate. The drum in the washing machine would wobble and shake across the floor. I finally had to return it and replaced with same model. I experienced the same issue after 30 days. I didnt take the insurance out and I regret that move.

I first want to begin by saying that we have been a Whirlpool family for years. I now own a Whirlpool microwave, hot water heater, washer/dryer, Jenn-Air stove and dishwasher. My problem now is with the Cabrio Washer purchased in 2008. I started having problems in 2011 and the same problem has raised its ugly head again. When I try to use the Clean cycle, it starts at a 60-minute cycle and goes down to a 2-minute cycle in 3 minutes without cleaning or even running water into the tub. This time, it made a terrible noise and stopped. The tub was replaced in July 2011 after having the same complaint as above. The repairman said that the mechanism on the tub to fit into the spinning cycle is made of plastic and is not holding up. Also, in March 2012, a new control board was installed. I spoke to Whirlpool Customer Service and they informed me that they did not have any other complaints about the Clean cycle and that I should call the repairman. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty. I vote a thumbs down on the Cabrio washer.

The machine was great and handled large amounts of laundry. It was very expensive but my wife was happy with its performance. A year and a half into owning it, the electrical code F70 comes up and it stopped working. When I checked online, I found it is a common problem. I contacted whirlpool customer service and they could not do anything. Spoke to the manager, Kiesha and she refused to help me even though I bought both the washer and dryer for a lot of money. Customer service is not a priority evidently. She denies that there is an on-going problem when both the internet and my service tech say differently.

Maybe they make some higher end ovens but ours was not one of them. The oven light fixture works intermittently and its only been 8 months that we have had it. The insulation on the oven is lacking as well. You can turn the oven off at 450 and within 15 mins its already below 200.

I purchased Whirlpool Cabrio on 04/06/2017 at Best Buy in Lake Worth. The washer stopped working last month. I went to Best Buy to complain. I was told to contact Whirlpool which l did. Was on the phone for over 2 hours with representatives. Finally l was told a service person will come take a look and tell me whats wrong with it. The service person came after one week out. Told me he has to order parts and it will take a week for the parts to come in. That his company may send some else to come and fit the washer. Meanwhile l took off the day from work.Now today 08/08/2017 the service company that Whirlpool contract with sent another service person with the parts only for him not to be able to repair the washer. He has to order more parts and it will take another week or so. I was so upset called Whirlpool, spoke with two different representatives. All they could say is sorry for the inconvenience that l have to wait until the service person comes out again with the parts. And if he cant fit thats when they will be able tell me if it will be replace. Bottom line is that l will never ever buy Whirlpool products again.

Bought a Whirlpool fridge at Lowes sale when the previous Samsung suddenly died before the Thanksgiving Day. Under the circumstances at the time, it was largely a price driven decision (for a fridge of a certain size with some non-negotiable characteristics, though.) I could not be happier with its performance in the two years since the purchase.

We purchase all Whirlpool appliances for our new house in Florida in late 2015 from Good Deals Appliances. First repair before 1 wk in-house was the dishwasher. Wires were not connected. Now it is the refrigerator (French door refrigerator model K44913210). We reached out where we purchase the appliances and they gave a number of repairman to connect. He came and told us the compressor & evaporator & valve needed replacement, We found that hard to believe that a 2-yr-old refrigerator needed all this repair. Called another repairman to hear same thing. We were also told this problem is so common with this model. Called Whirlpool. They sent a repairman out. Said same thing first two said. They are paying for parts but not labor. We were told by last repairman that this refrigerator hasnt worked from day one. Passed info to Whirlpool and no comment. We paid a lot of money for an upgraded refrigerator to have it quit in 2 years. Totally not acceptable. On top of this the parts may not work for more than 2 years again. Okay Whirlpool who is going to pay for all the ice & dry ice, the other two repairmen that came. The repairman you sent was double the price of other 2 & will not come back till we pay. We will pass our experience with Whirlpool on to all friends and friends of friends.

Even the repairman said Whirlpool isnt making them like they used to even though they are charging more for newer appliances. The freezer has clogged, ice maker already broken, have to replace $400.00 for just the icemaker. As a real estate agent, I will make sure and let our new home buyers never to purchase Whirlpool again!

Purchased a Whirpool Cabrio washer. We bought this on sale at a Lowes and paid half the original price. Get it delivered and set up no issues. After about a week of washing clothes, there is a God awful smell coming from the washer because the water does not drain completely! I have used refresh washer cleaner to try and get it to go away. Most of the time there is no smell, but about once every other week, the smell is so bad it permeates through my home and makes it smell of rotten garbage. I do not recommend this washer. The cycle times jump around from the original time it tells you and the smell is just so bad. The little tray where you put liquid detergent doesnt even have a way to drain the detergent into the laundry properly and after every wash I have to dump the tray out because it stays filled with water where the water comes in and causes the detergent to rise out of the tiny hole on top. You might as well just add the detergent directly onto your clothes. I use an excellent brand of detergent that has top reviews and my clothes still dont come out smelling good from this washer. I have tried other detergents too to make sure it wasnt that one. I wish my hubby and I wouldve never paid for this thing and gone with a different one.

I bought front-loader WFW8540FW1 in November 2017 from Lowes. I keep having problems with the washer not turning on. I am waiting for the repairman to come. Had repair done in March, May, and now June. I have gotten new electronics for replacement from Whirlpool each time. Obviously something is defective. Is there a lemon law for washers? Hope so. Never buy Whirlpool Washer again!

We purchased the extended warranty (service plan number **). The washing machine has been giving trouble. It locks out during every wash cycle and each time, we have to unplug the machine to reset it. Sometimes it makes it through the next cycle and sometimes, not. The first couple of calls we made, we were told to make sure it was cleaned, to make sure it was leveled. All this was done and we still have the same problem. Finally, a technician was sent out. He could not duplicate the problem and left. Thirty minutes after he left, the machine locked out again. We put in for another call, we were told it would be two more days. In the meantime, we actually video taped the next three times it locked up. This time, when the technician came out, he was able to see our video as well as saw the machine lock up. He stated, It did not give me a code so I do not know what else to do. He left and ten minutes after he left, it locked out again. We immediately called back and they informed us they could not get anyone out again until next week. This is very frustrating to have an obvious problem and have an extended warranty and the problem cannot be solved. We feel as if we are being blown off. Is there anything you can do to help us and/or give us advise of how to get this problem resolved?

We bought a Whirlpool cook stove with a black top in 2009 and this year, in 2011, while cooking a pot of stew, the stove top burner began to make loud popping sounds. When I went to check it out, there was smoke coming out from under the pan and pieces of glass that had exploded out in small chunks. When calling the customer service line at Whirlpool, they told us that it was no longer under warranty and could not be of help. Their only explanation was that they would only cover a new stove top if it had cracked or broken this way when putting a cold pot on a hot burner. They said their technician could tell if this was why the shards of glass were exploded from the burner.

Purchased the oven in summer 2015. Very disappointed in the AquaLift Self-Cleaning oven. Absolutely useless. Does absolutely nothing and I end up cleaning the oven by hand. As a senior citizen, this is uncomfortable; I have injured my leg in the process and now feel I must wipe the oven down after each use. I was so looking forward to having a nice clean oven at all times and its not happening. This is of no value to me.

If you are in the market for a new washing machine, steer clear of the Whirlpool Cabrio (or any Whirlpool for that matter). We have had issues with ours from the beginning. We had Whirlpool techs come out and were continually unable to fix the issues. Eventually they told them that it was not broken, even though one tech told us it definitely was. After four service calls they just stopped sending out techs and told us too bad. Now after less than two years it is leaking from the bottom. Yeah, Whirlpool, theres no problem with it. Save yourself the potential headache and get something else. Anything else.

During the initial warranty the oven was not heating properly. Several service calls within the warranty issue was not resolved. Whirlpool extended the warranty another year as of this date and several service calls problem not resolved. When a tech comes out there is a diagnostic check that checks the temp for 10 min. Since the temp drops after 10 min they cannot detect problem. I asked for the tech to remain for the complete cooking period which they cannot do. I have wasted many meals and still have a oven that does not work.

Had the washer 3 years. After 1st year had to replace motherboard and lid locking mechanism. Beginning of year 3 the basket came loose, the machine wouldnt spin the water out of the clothes completely and then it quit cycling into the next cycle, ie, the tub filled up with water for the wash cycle but then would not begin agitating. The water sat in the tub until the wash cycle was done and then would drain but would not spin. Each cycle had to be manually started by pressing the pause button, raising the washer lid, and then pressing the pause button again. I called a repair person who ran a diagnostic on the machine and said it needed a new pump, new motherboard again and something else to make it spin properly. Sorry I dont remember what the something is. The estimate to repair was approximately $759 so I am now shopping for a new machine thats not a Whirlpool.

We purchased a top loader Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer and within a few short months noticed a mildew-like smell emanating from it. This is DESPITE the fact that we leave the top up the entire time that the machine is not in use, we use hydrogen peroxide and ammonia in our loads of laundry in order to kill any mold present and my husband painstakingly hand dries the interior of the drum after each load of laundry. He also puts hydrogen peroxide in the fabric softener dispenser in an effort to kill the mold/mildew. None of this has helped to mitigate the ongoing mildew/mold odor. We have run across other online reviews which suggest that the Cabrio does not fully drain the water in the washer leading to the potential for the development of mold and mildew. This is very upsetting as we paid a lot of money for the Cabrio and had high hopes for it.

My Brother-In-Law bought a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater from Lowes last year. The Water Heater was still under warranty and would not stay lit. He called Whirlpool and they told him to send them a picture of where the water heater was installed (really? a picture). They told him he could not order the replacement part which was a Thermopile because he had to have a licensed person install it? Really? In your own home? My husband finally got Lowes to order the part because Whirlpools only help was for him to purchase a new water heater and Lowes would give him 10% off a new one. Lowes and Whirlpool have a monopoly on water heaters. Whirlpool is the only brand that Lowes sells. So if you want your warranty to be good on a water heater DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

I have owned two different Whirpool washers over the last several years, and they have both been a very big disappointment. More than that they have cost me money, time, and peace of mind. The Duet was my first experience with a Whirlpool appliance. It was a front load that I replaced the water pump on twice and constantly had to take the front bottom piece of the washer off to clean the trap on. It had been taken off so much that the machine actually just fell apart. It also had some type of mold or mildew problem where it made the clothes smell. It was a constant headache.I was stupid and allowed a salesperson from HHGregg to talk me into purchasing the Whirlpool Cabrio washer. Another huge mistake. Again, cost me time, money and peace of mind. I have owned the washer for a COUPLE OF MONTHS, and the clothes that I have washed smell so bad that I cannot use the washer anymore. I tried to call customer service, but it is impossible to get any help because the lines were so backed up, I have not had the time to sit and wait for an available person. Not to mention there is an extensive process of pushing lots of buttons before you are put on hold to presumably talk to a human being. I assume this is because so many people are having so many problems with their Whirlpool appliances. It is not surprising. I bought a new washer, a GE. It is awesome!When I have the patience and the time, I will try to call Whirlpool again and see if they are willing to do anything about the washer that at this point is just sitting in my garage taking up space. I spent around $600 on a washer I only got a few months of use out of. When we moved it to the garage, we could hear water swishing around, which explains the horrible smell of the clothes. Once I started having the issue, I went online to see if this was an easy fix, and it turned out that LOTS of other people are having the exact problem, to the point where people are trying to get a class action suit going. Do yourself a favor and avoid the hassle of dealing with this company. If you purchase a Whirlpool washer, I guarantee you will be sorry. Trust me, I was stupid enough to do it twice. Hope this helps someone avoid the headache these appliances have given me.I will never buy Whirlpool again. Just plain terrible. Purchased Whirlpool Gold Seris Dishwasher Model w10698637a in June and now its been 3 attempts so far to fix a brand new dishwasher that does not clean. So far I have been asked... have you been heating the water before you start the cycle?, my favorite... Is this a whirlpool dishwasher. So I find out today that it will take another visit from a company that hasnt been able to fix it, plus a call to the tech line to make sure they havent missed anything. Heres what Ive missed, a dishwasher that cleans.

My washing machine is just over a year old and it has ruined so many clothes... They come out with brown stains on them... Almost like a oily stain. Not sure where its coming from but its either Im gonna have to buy a different machine or keep buying clothes. My husbands t-shirts look terrible... I bought a Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer in 2008 and it began showing F71 and F70 error code in 2011. I paid approximately $1,000 for the machine. The washer wont finish the cycles and often wont start. When I press the power button, I hear the 3 beeps and after a while, shows the F71 error over and over. The information I gathered online indicates that many people have the same problem. The repair cost is at least $550 to replace the user interface circuit board and is no guarantee. This is ridiculous.How could GE sell consumers this kind of junk that fails to work only after 2 years. I had a top loader for 12 years with no problems, not a single repair call. My wife and I are extremely frustrated with piles of dirty clothes and no washer to clean them. I want GE to refund the cost of the washer on a 10-year prorated basis. This is only fair.

We bought a brand new Whirlpool dishwasher around 2 years ago. Within 13 months it stopped drying dishes, silverware etc. I called customer service told the person what’s going on. Of course the warranty was up, a month prior. She said she would send a service technician out to see why it wasn’t drying. They charge 75$ a hour plus a service fee for coming out. I told her no. She said she would drop the service fee since it was only 13 months old. I asked how long he would be here, she had no idea. I didn’t make the appointment because I felt I shouldn’t have to pay anything because it was only 13 months old.She didn’t agree. Since then it has gotten worse, it doesn’t dry anything, maybe the dishes. I have to put the silverware rack on a towel by and dry the silverware or put it away wet. I’ve bought jet dry a few different ones and no luck. I would not recommend anything from Whirlpool, especially a dishwasher. We have new wood cabinets. The cabinets will get soaked if I don’t put paper towels under them. This is the worst dishwasher I ever owned. Don’t waste your money!!

Purchased washer Aug 2012 and has increasingly been leaving white residue after wash cycles. Have used the Extra Rinse function to no avail and use half the recommended amount of HE Tide. Now I have to run the Rinse, Drain, Spin function twice with darks to remove the residue. I have also been doing the monthly maintenance which has not helped at all. This machine seriously detracts from the Whirlpool name and if they are unwilling to fix the problem, it only publicly displays the companys integrity.

We were a Whirlpool family, and have been using a Whirlpool front loader – Duet Steam Model # WFW9500TW - for the past nine years without any issues until recently when it started to vibrate. Technician sent by Whirlpool blamed it on failing bearing and that it was cheaper to replace than to repair (In hindsight, I wish we had tried repairing). Naturally, we decided to replace with a new front loader from Whirlpool - Model # WFW6620HW. Our previous version had a max spin speed of 1000 RPM and a capacity of 3.5 cu. ft. This new one has a top spin speed of 1160 RPM and a capacity of 4.5 cu. ft. The main problem with our old one was vibration, and this was being caused by the washer going into high spin while the clothes were not evenly distributed throughout the drum. In one spin, the clothes would spin perfectly without any vibration, but in another spin of the same cycle, the washer would not allocate that same clothes properly throughout the drum, which leads the drum to cause vibration from unbalanced high spin. Vibration is a problem, because like most Americans, we live in a wood frame house, and have a basement underneath with the washer located on the main floor. Vibration from unbalanced high RPM spin gets sent down to other areas of the house, causing damage, drywall cracks, separation in trims, etc. And these are all only the damages one can see with their eyes.One point about vibration and some myth busting. Provided that all your washer legs are meeting the floor and not on a saggy floor, your washer should not vibrate more than it does during an empty spin. If it does, then it is due to faulty, poor design/engineering. What happens is when the steel drum becomes unbalanced with laundry in high spin, it starts to shake as more of the weight is on one side, which one can notice looking inside the washer window. There are concrete weights fastened to the top and bottom of drum to keep the drum in place and to reduce its shaking tendencies. However, this weight also causes the washer cabinet to wobble if the drum itself is shaking. This wobble in turn causes the washer legs, which may be firmly grasping the floor, to very slightly come off the floor, which one can feel if touching both the washer feet and floor with their finger at the high spin of an unbalanced spin. And that motion of legs coming off the floor and hitting back at high RPM is what causes vibration to be felt on the floor and to be seen on the cabinet. Of course, this effect is amplified with washers that decide to go into an unbalanced spin with an even higher max spin. When our old washer perfectly balanced the clothes, it behaved like it was running high spin while the drum was empty. This is how all washers should behave, especially in America where the vast majority of homes are wood frame based. However, that was not what we experienced with this new Whirlpool. If a washer is not capable of balancing out the clothes, extra function or feature should be deployed in containing the drum shake to within the drum, and not allow it to escape.First, our old front load Duet Steam Whirlpool was Made in Germany. This new one is ‘assembled’ in America. The door window of the new one is plastic and feels cheap and flimsy, but I expect all the darker color door windows of newer front loaders to be plastic. Consider it cost cutting. We did not look for additional anti-vibration technology because our old Duet didn’t have anti-vibration features aside from its two springs and four suspensions. We decided not to use Load & Go because I have personally seen liquid HE detergents gum up over time, so I didn’t want to risk it gumming up inside the washer.After the installers left, I spend an hour cleaning the outside of the washer to perfection. Sadly, time wasted. Once I was done, I first did a wash without clothes, and then with clothes in Normal, fast spin cycle with drum about 2/3rds full. Just pants and t-shirts. There is a recirculating pump at the top of the drum to distribute the water, and to also distribute soap mixed water. But I am not sure if this is without problems. These pumps can collect soap residue with time, and you will eventually end up rinsing the laundry with soap mixed water even in rinse cycle.In getting to the first spin in wash cycle, I was flabbergasted to see how, just how rudimentary, I want to reiterate the word rudimentary, the load detection was before entering high spin. Our nine-year-old washer had a more comprehensive one. The new washer would spin the clothes at very, very low spin and simply see if the drum is most evenly spinning. That’s all. Compared it to our old washer which would also shake the drum to see if there was movement from side to side, because clothes can change their position when entering high spin. This rudimentary load detection causes the new washer to create an even worse uneven load distribution around the drum before spin, even though it may seem even at very low RPM. So, why is the new washer’s load detection so basic? I believe it is due to ball bearings.Front load washer models from other companies employ ball bearings to reduce vibrations from uneven loads. Whirlpool does not employ such feature, at least, they do not advertise them. However, to my surprise, I hear metal balls hitting each other every time the drum direction changes during the wash cycle. I inquired Whirlpool about this and I received contradictory responses. My theory is that the basic load detection before spin speed is used because Whirlpool assumes any changes to load distribution will be taken care of or reduced by the ball bearings of the washer. But this ultimately allows the washer to go into more uneven spins. The bearings may also be used to increase the tolerance of what is considered an ‘unbalanced load’ in order to get the washer to go into spin cycle faster, decreasing the time involved of the washer to go into spin cycle. Sadly, to my dismay, the new washer ended up causing a worse vibration than our old one with failing bearing.I called up the retailer the same day of delivery and complained of vibration. He first sent an installer to see if it was installed properly, and upon showing the installer of the vibration issues, the retailer sent me a new washer couple of days later thinking the first one was a lemon, and even though it has less noisy draining noise, it too exhibited the same issues with it going into significantly uneven spin. In the end, we decided to return the Whirlpool washer all together, at a loss of $200 because the retailer did not hold up to their spoken return policy.We have done many loads in this washer to see if our loading is an issue, loads of varying sizes, loads of varying types, loads of weights, and we maybe only had an evenly distributed load around the drum about once or twice. Once it was a King comforter. But, like our old washer, this too ended up not distributing properly around the drum in the final spin cycle and started vibrating, even though it was vibration-free in the previous high spin cycle. This proves that the problem exists directly within the washer, not the floor, leveling, load, etc.Some other problems with the washer: - The washer door, Load & Go dispenser at bottom, and single load dispenser at top are all plastic parts which all vibrate significantly during fast spin cycle. Especially the Load & Go dispenser which keeps hitting the cabinet to make banging noise. - Drain sounds are much, much louder than our previous Duet. It was even louder in the first one we received. Combine this to uneven spins and this washer can perhaps compete with an engine in terms of the sound it generates. - Single use dispenser at top left will hit the washer door if washer door is opened when the dispenser is also in open position. - Buttons are sometimes unresponsive, to which I have to power off and try again. But this has only happened a couple of times.- There is a small ¼ in. opening where the steel drum meets the rubber gasket, opening in which items like coins, etc., may fall through and are irretrievable. Don’t think small socks would be affected.To potential buyers, I suggest you proceed with caution when it comes to this washer. Understand the retailer’s appliance return policy and make sure it is shown in paper. It can save you a lot of headache. Get the extended warranty of three years because manufacturers only give you one-year warranty for a reason. I would also suggest that you avoid this washer at all costs if you have any floor level below where this washer is to be installed, especially if the level below is a basement. Your house is more important and more valuable than a $1000 washer.In the end, I am very disappointed in Whirlpool, an American company. Perhaps Whirlpool focuses their attention on top loaders, not front loaders. But Whirlpool had nine years to improve their washers, and it is sad that we may now have to go outside of America for a quality product to be used in American homes. P.S.
