I like the looks with brushed stainless steel and black. The most difficulty was getting someone to help get it and load it. But other than that, Ive had no problems with the dishwasher.

Im very satisfied with the looks and performance of my Whirlpool dishwasher, it is quiet enough that I put it on to wash before going to bed. It is that quiet. Im not happy about the way it was installed, but that is no fault of the dishwasher or Whirlpool, it works great even though it sits kind of crooked in the cabinet. The dishes are always sparkling clean and dry when it is done washing.

Aqualift self clean oven??? I followed the directions on how to clean my oven. I wiped and scraped out spilled residue from the oven. Then started the cleaning process. The sides of the oven were not cleaned even when I wiped them with a damp cloth. Scrubbing and scraping with the tools that came with the oven helped somewhat. The bottom of the oven was not cleaned. I had to continually scrub and scrape to get it looking half clean and even then, there were still spots that would not clean away. I would have preferred an oven that uses oven cleaner, it gets the oven much cleaner and with less scrubbing on my part. All in all I am very dissatisfied with the oven and would never recommend it.

I purchased a front loader Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer in June of 2011. I was sold an extended warranty which ends June 30 of this year. I have made 4 calls to the Co which warranties the washer because it is making squeaking noises on the spin cycle. I was refused service because the customer service rep didnt “hear” anything. I finally had a local service Co check out the machine and was told the motor needs to be replaced and if under warranty I should demand it be replaced. I called again and still cannot get NSI to come out and see the problem.

I like the top and the stainless steel finish - its electric and so the inside is a pain to clean. Flat top - burners heat well/oven gets up to temp fast. Cleaning the outside isnt difficult, I use Bar Keepers Friend on the SS and Wegmans on the flat top - for the back black splash Mrs. Meyers - so its 3 products but its also 3 minutes. I live alone and so use is minimal as well. Im not sure Id like it in a busy house with kids.

Bought this machine at Lowes as it was recommended by the salesperson. The machine broke down in 2 months due to a control module. Besides that, the clothes do not get clean! They come out with all the stains still on them. The water does not even get the clothes wet! And they smell. Called Whirlpool up and they sent out tech 2x and said there was nothing wrong. Went back to Lowes and they will not honor my claim to replace the unit. I now have to purchase a new machine since this one is useless. Never will I buy a Whirlpool again and dont you either!!!

The latest issue happened on Jan 2018 and still not been repaired. Seems like they are waiting for my one year warranty to expire.

Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load, Short Agitator to protect clothing, cost reasona
Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load, Short Agitator to protect clothing, cost reasonable, on sale $800.00 both (Aug. 2013) - Sears credit no interest. Moved, and had to sell after a year, but I anticipated a long life r/t rating/reviews online. One Problem: no setting to soak clothing that may need it. I bought the largest Whirlpool Cabrio to make sure my Queen bedspread (heavy blanket type fur on one side) would fit. Because of the short agitator I could have bought the smaller one I discovered. I could fit 6 regular side and 4 beach heavy beach size towels in it easily, or two Queen quilts in at a time. I rarely needed an Xlg water setting. The dryer had a steam only setting but I never tried it because it was set up in the apartment when I arrived and the delivery people were not very bright. Put the Dryer farthest from the vent, washer farthest from faucets, and put hot and cold hoses on opposite spigots. I did not want to chance they set up the steam section wrong, as well. I moved across country 1 year later, but have trust the W/D would do well. My last Sears brand (made by Whirlpool) only had one minor problem (on warranty) and lasted a good 8-10 years before moving and selling them to another couple. They were still in wonderful working order (front loader).

We remodeled our kitchen and my wife liked Whirlpool, I didnt, but I went with her since she got a good deal with Lowes. We bought a microwave, dishwasher, stove, and fridge. I cant wait till all of it craps out! Going back to Sears! In less than a year I have replaced the stove and stove, the fridge sucks. The fridge already had a defect with a water leak, damaged my hardwood floors!!!! Still waiting on Whirlpool for my floors. The dishwasher never cleans, it always stinks. The stove does not self clean, the handles dont stay tight, shall I go on!

The technician that was here to repair my propane water heater called Whirlpool to get help with the problem. The pilot would not stay lit, they would not help him. I told him it was installed in a mobile home and he had to cap the gas to the heater, it was still under warranty. Later I found out there was a recall on this heater and that probably was the reason they told him that. I ordered a water heater just for mobiles and am in the process of getting it installed. I kept the old heater for now and will still pursue this issue under the warranty.

Purchased Black Ice French Door refrigerator in December 6, 2012. Used warranty first year due to loud noise & replaced whole back panel in top part. They seemed to know it was a design flaw. Thought all would be well. Purchased extended warranty for second year and did not need so did not extend again. Now it has been 2 years and 7 months and the ice maker had to be shut off due to water running down outside. The refrigerator is no longer cold enough--60 Degrees (too warm) and freezer door would not close all the way (had to duct tape it shut). I certainly expected it to last longer than that for a $2300 fridge. The old Kenmore was 15 years old and still worked. After reading all these reviews it is time for a class action lawsuit! We have to buy another now but it wont be Whirlpool!

Freezer still working fine but the refrigerator started blowing hot air, all the food spoiled within 2 days as we were trying to figure out what was wrong. The store did the best to correct the problem and it seemed the Whirlpool company had no faith in their product as over the phone recommended having extended warranty. Now I am getting error codes and the washer begins a cycle and just shuts down. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a Whirlpool appliance. Three failures in 14 months. First, the detergent dispenser broke. Next, right after the warranty would have been over (fortunately, I purchased from Costco which automatically extends warranty for another year) the pump failed and had to be replaced. Now the heat element is obviously faulty because the dishes are cold through all cycles. So I have to call them back again. I have no complaints about the service company. They were polite and reasonably prompt. Just appears that the product is JUNK! I am going to Costco tomo and will explain the situation. They probably can’t do anything but maybe they will go to a better product for others.

We purchased the unit in March, by April it wasnt cooling. In June it shut down. In July after 8 tech appointments and repairs. Whirlpool finally said they would refund my purchase and I should see the money in about three weeks. That would be about a week longer than the refrigerator worked. I dont have the money to just get another one so I guess the family will be without a refrigerator for another month. That means shopping every day for perishable for a family of 10. I would not recommend another Whirlpool product. This is no joke, every time I called them one of the first things asked was Did you get the extended warranty? Why would they ask, sounds as if they dont trust their own product either. This unit was purchase online through Sears.com. Purchase price was $2299.99. Order placed on March 4, 2017.

Handle needs smarter design. I purchased model #WRT311FZDM00 in November of 2015, didnt install in my new home till December. I am a single senior female, so there is little wear on the fridge, unlike a family of several people and with kids. The door handle actually broke just behind the screws that hold it in place, the plastic part of it broke into a couple of pieces. The cost to replace this handle is approximately $80, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Please start making things of quality materials instead of cheap plastic, especially at a stress point of a part. Even I know better than that. All 4 of my major kitchen appliances are Whirlpool, as well as my washer/dryer. I thought I was buying quality products. Hopefully things will hold up better with the other ones.

We bought a Whirlpool washing machine two years ago and bought the extended warranty. The machine quit working so we called the warranty service number. We have had a repair man sent here 5 times from them. The technicians have put two new control boards and a new door lock on it. They have another part ordered for this week. The machine is still not working after five visits from service technicians and they say they cant fix it. The extended warranty service plan says if it cant be fixed they will replace it or send us a check for it. We have contacted them several times and they dont want to make good on it. So we have a broke down washing machine and have to go to a Laundromat every week.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer from a local appliance center. Everything was working great. After some time, the washer began to have error codes. I would have to turn it off and restart using more detergent, more water and more electricity to attempt to get a load washed. I did purchase an extended warranty. I reported the issue to Whirlpool and I have had 7 home repair visits while still under Whirlpools warranty. The first time, the repair tech went under the washer and tightened a screw. REALLY! The next visit, the motherboard was changed and the issues kept coming back. Well, the Whirlpool warranty was now over so the extended warranty had to be picked up from the appliance center. Things got worse and had continued repair calls. After I had enough, I called Whirlpool and spoke to everyone under the sun. I tossed it outside and bought another brand washer. Several weeks went by and this washer still under the shed, Whirlpool contacted me and bought back my washer, GREAT.Now, here it starts all over again with the dryer, same issues with motherboard. Only this time, I am 1 month out of Whirlpool warranty and need $385 for a new motherboard plus cost to replace. I call Whirlpool again but only this time, they show no issues with this dryer and are not budging. I toss it out and again, purchase another brand dryer. I grew more angry by the day looking at this dryer sitting useless outside. I had it hauled off as trash. My question is how does a consumer protect themselves against these manufacturers? I do understand warranties but if it smells like a lemon, acts like a lemon, it must be a lemon!

Whirlpool Dryer Model WED4815EWO and Whirlpool Washer W10682799 - I have always had great results with Whirlpool products. Both are energy efficient and save on operating costs. I purchased them three (3) months ago. The washer locks during the wash cycle. That took a little getting used to. I have always been able to rely on Whirlpool products. The top loading washer (W10682799) is energy efficient and high capacity. It regulates the water level so you dont have to worry about wasting water. The matching Dryer (WED4815EWO) has a sensor to regulate your drying time or it can be manually set. I appreciate the worry free, self-regulating functions on both the washer and the dryer.

On the 27th March 2012 I bought a new Whirlpool 6th Sense washing machine S/N 411048002028 AWOE 9210 - 30 9Kg for E499.00. I brought it home and plumbed it adding in a lime filter on the water line to protect it from limescale. On the 14th September 2016 a service technician replaced the entire drum as the old one made so much noise and the ball bearings are part of the drum. On the 7th June 2013 a technician replaced the drive belt claiming that it moved if a light load was put into the machine. On the same day I added an extension of 3 years Guarantee at Euro 89.00. On the 14th October 2013 a technician examined the machine for a water leak but found nothing and charged me for the call. Out E25.00. I lived with the noise of the spin cycle ever since. The noise got steadily worse until 27th September 2016 when the machine finally packed in. I stripped the machine down to find the ball bearings on the drum completely rusted over so the drum was rotating without the cushioning. On the same day I bought a Bosch machine and decided to forget about the extra guarantee as the offending parts had already been replaced once and did not even last 4 years. I will bring it to the recycling yard later today as that is all it is good for. It was bought in Media World, Orio Center, Bergamo. It was paid for by Gianni ** who is my father-in-law and had a loyalty card for the shop.

I purchased Whirlpool Microwave/Convection Oven a little over a year ago. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance. I spoke with Whirlpool (not the extended warranty company to which I was referred), and they refused to help, period. The extended warranty company (although very nice), werent much help and will continue to attempt repairs until the price of the repair(s) exceeds the value of the microwave no matter how it inconveniences my household.

Cabrio top load HE washer - Ive only had the washer a couple of years. My husband bought it for me thinking it would make washing more time efficient and energy saving. Lesson learned! After struggling with this washer for the past year, I was told today that to repair it, it would cost around $800 or I would need to buy another washer. The washers bearings and tub need to be replaced and it will not spin properly or at all. Previously, I have owned washers for over 10 years each. This was definitely not a good purchase. After reading all of the other complaints on this site, I understand that I am not alone. It was also mentioned on one complaint of the possibility of a fire hazard with this washer. Purchased 7/2015. LOVED it @ 1st being the key word. Notice grayish residue on clothing. Mainly on black. Towels discolored and lint on clothing. My kids were blaming dye in the detergent, & using Purex Crystals. I changed detergent to Armen hammer sensitive clear. Stopped using my beloved crystals. Wrong! Cleaned the rim @ the top of the agitator all the dirt & grime get ps trapped in the rims it helped some what. Additional problems occurred. From time to time started noticing unbalancing no matter the load size. Paint bubbling, peeling & rusting. The lid lock broken. Nightmare trying to get an appointment through Whirlpool. Referred to go to a dealer. Called Sears. Gave specific details whats wrong. Appointment 2 wks out. Service arrived, he had no idea why he was there. No info given. Then he said he doesnt have the part. He ordered it and said itll be sent to me approx 5 days. But wont be fix for another 3 wks. Same with 3 people from customer care. Informed this is not acceptable. Another problem now when unplugging it still stays on its hold electrical current. This can not be replaced until its deemed its broken & cant be fixed. They rather your home catch fire. They dont care about the inconvenience for 2 1/2 months.

Purchased my Whirlpool WRF989SDAH00 White Ice fridge late September of 2014
Purchased my Whirlpool WRF989SDAH00 White Ice fridge late September of 2014, received the fridge Early October, todays date is Dec 17, 2015. The freezer is not freezing food properly the last couple of days, all food is unfrozen in the freezer. Have lowered the temp settings has not helped, the fridge section is temperately fine. There is a noise coming from the fridge that sounds like a noisy fan or motor. Phoned Whirlpool Canada, they said they could send someone out. They will charge $100 for call out and over $20/15 min after. I asked whod theyd be calling to service. Said that Id try unplugging the fridge for a couple of days and seeing if that helps, and that Ill call the refrigeration company myself if I need them. Not satisfied with their short term warranties. Especially on such expensive products.

We bought a brand new basic refrigerator, freezer on top, no frills, no ice
We bought a brand new basic refrigerator, freezer on top, no frills, no ice maker, no water dispenser (model #WRT359SFYB) in Dec. 2011. For months, things on the bottom shelf of the fridge would freeze. The more we turn the control dial down, the more things would freeze. Finally, everything stopped freezing, including everything in the freezer. After having to throw everything out, we called for service. One year and 4 months out from our purchase date and without an extended warranty, we were offered no help. The repairman said that we had a leak as a result of poor manufacturing and there was no refrigerant left. He filled it but said he needed to check with Whirlpool to see if they would cover the repairs. It turns out they wont. I called them myself and spoke with a manager who offered no options at all, other than paying more than the price of the fridge to have it repaired. I asked if they were okay with their product having such a short life, filling landfills and causing such problems for their customers to which she replied that they are man-made and have no life expectancy. Crazy! For a manufacturer of large, costly appliances, one would think they would stand behind their product more. She also said that she would file my complaint and would have let me know if there was a recall on the fridge or any of its parts. It appears to me that others have had similar complaints. I wonder what warrants a recall. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

I called the dealers repair department, which said they had not seen this before and it looks defective. I have used the oven less than a dozen times. It is virtually new. They submitted pictures to Whirlpool. The oven surround is not replaceable, so the request is to get a new oven. Whirlpool responded with, This is normal... when the cracks break through, then there is a problem. What?! I have been cooking for over 50 years and have never had this experience before. This product is under warranty. By the time it cracks through, it will be too late to do anything about it. Since when is crazing on the oven bottom natural, especially after only a very few times used? This is defective and Whirlpool is shirking their warranty. I am very dissatisfied.

Whirlpool wrf560seyw00 refrigerator plastic tasting water - Purchased 22 months ago. Did not think a warranty was necessary. Even if I had a warranty, they say they wouldnt have paid on the claim. I called Whirlpool asking for a one time goodwill policy adjustment considering Ive outfitted my home in all new Maytag/Whirlpool appliances over the past 3 years. In a nutshell, their plastic water lines to the dispenser in my fridge are deteriorating. There are plastic floaters and a horrible plastic smell and taste. You cannot drink it. First, they blame the filter mixing with the chlorine from my city water (go ahead and laugh... because thats just nuts) and when I told them I removed the filter two weeks ago and there are floaters in the water, they said my water still was to blame. Heres a thought... Dont use cheap plastic lines when you sell someone an expensive appliance! Is it really that difficult to offer a quality product? This is a smaller three-door unit (French on top w/ bottom freezer). There is no water holding tank because its small and we have a copper supply line. My neighbors dont have trouble with theirs either. I may be female but Im not an idiot. Maytag/Whirlpool corporation has lost a loyal 20 plus year customer.

I purchased a brand-new, $4600 36 gas range online. They finally installed all appliances by 10:30 pm last Friday, July 8, 2011. On Saturday, July 9, 2011, I woke at 2 am to weird smell (gas). I opened all the windows and went back to bed not sure since we never had gas before. Gas company came out that day and determined that the burners were bypassing gas. Jenn-Air said it was normal for some gas to come out and that they have sent the repair technician out three times to not find any leaks. The gas company red-tagged the stove saying it was hazardous. Jenn-Air has terrible customer service. I was on the phone Monday to Friday this week, every day talking with safety managers to supervisors with no results. This will be the LAST Jenn-Air purchase EVER!

Installers left and Home Depot Cabrio washer stopped with water left in tub. I reset GFIC outlet, tried again and it stopped. Did some research and tried different outlets. Same result. I discovered that if you shut off machine as soon as the GFIC is reset, then the washer will drain no matter what. I have been on the phone with Home Depot and they have no solution but to wait one week for a repairman. Very dissatisfying service. Now I am running a 20 foot, 3 prong, heavy duty extension cord into living area where there are no GFIC outlets and it has been running. I believe there is a fault in the washer, but they must not care if we get electrocuted from the faulty grounding of their Whirlpool product.

I purchased a Whirlpool catnip washer from Brandsmart in August of 2010. It worked fairly well, but would sometimes need for clothes to be rearranged in order for the spin cycle to complete. In June of 2013, it started to not wring the clothes out completely. It then stopped working. I called a repairman and got an estimate of $550 dollars, but I paid $578 for it.I called Whirlpool and spoke to the supervisor of the consumer concern team. She offered me a fifty percent discount on the parts for the repair. I checked the web to see if anyone else had any problems with this product and found several. I suggest you do your homework before purchasing a Whirlpool washer. I was positive they would do more, since it’s such a prestigious company.

Moved to new house with new Whirlpool appliances, including oven, in August, 2015. I did not cook in oven at all until Thanksgiving meal. Had something spill over in oven. Spillover caught fire. Oven at 350 degrees. Complained to Whirlpool. A supervisor told me that it is normal for spillover to catch fire. They sent out a tech to check oven, and said I would be responsible for paying tech. The tech explained that unlike conventional ovens, this oven has heating elements outside of oven, so to get to the temperature of 350 degrees, the heat at the bottom of oven can get to over 550 degrees. He could not get Whirlpool to replace oven. I didnt have to pay, but now I am afraid to use it. Some of the finish on the inside of the oven was burned away, so it is not like I can trade it in. I feel the oven has a defective design if spillovers are supposed to catch fire while you are cooking, and the finish gets damaged. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again, if I can help it.

I had my washing machine for about 10 days before it stopped working. I did about 4 loads of laundry. We have had 3 repair people come check it out, all referred by Whirlpool. They each had a different theory on why it wasnt working properly. Im now waiting for parts to be delivered and then service to be scheduled. When I contacted customer service, I was told (after waiting on hold for about 1 hour) that it was customer misuse. Ahem, first I heard that, and I think I know how to use a washing machine. I asked to speak with a supervisor. More waiting. Tina (#**) told me she will contact the service company about the parts. I told her to please conference me in on the call because I want to hear the outcome (and I dont want to wait another 1+ hour to reach customer service again). She put me on hold and then disconnected me! Really, all this time and 3 service people... Would be cheaper to just replace the machine altogether. What a headache!

The repair man said that he felt like the plastic was substandard and to call Whirlpool but they said that we must have abused the shelving.I and my husband are senior citizens and the only ones using this refrigerator. How can all the plastic components break within one year? I had my last refrigerator for over 10 years and I gave it to my son. It is still running and all the plastic shelving is still intact.I feel Whirlpool should fix this problem but they do not care about their customers. Once they have your money, you are forgotten. This machine, like all other water sensor machines, will not let you wash a few items that are lightweight without filling the whole machine up almost all the way. The reason being is that if the items are light, they will float in the water above the water level and the sensor thinks it needs to put more water in and even with putting something in to weigh it down like a wet towel doesnt always work, nor should you have to do this. You will waste more water in the long run if you only have a few items to wash, ie baby clothes, underwear, rags, etc. I am so disappointed that I had no other choice but to get this machine.

We too have nothing but problems with our supposedly top of the line convection/microwave oven. Purchased in 2010 in February for new kitchen. From start, original microwave installed did not work, would not cook or heat. Dealer replaced. One year later, same problem, but now out of warranty. Had to pay labor, costs, and parts to get fixed. Fast forward 13 months, again magnetron needs replaced, microwave will not work. What a hunk of junk for our money. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again, and I will tell everyone I know the same. When you call customer service, they are nice but only say “too bad, out of warranty”. What a joke for a major appliance company to tell customers. It is obvious that this microwave is faulty from the get go, and they just keep on making them the same way and not trying to fix the problem.

I purchased this machine in February 2019. The standard one-year warranty covered the first service call less than one year later. This call was related to the main control board. If this part goes out it will prevent the washer from advancing through the cycles. A technician was able correct this problem by resetting control board. That was sometime the first year. The next call was for the same problem and it cost me $90 to have a technician reset the board again. I then learned how to do it myself through online research. However, I had to do it more regularly and this got old as you can imagine. I did buy myself about two months of time by purchasing a used part but it soon failed as well. This main control board cost $564 if you get it from the manufacturer. This exceeds the cost of the machine. It was purchased in 2019. (The same machine has gone up to $740 today.) I had no other problems with that appliance however, it appears nowadays with electronics taking over cycles vs. mechanical parts you will not enjoy the same longevity as I did when I got 16 years out of a GE washer before this one. I have replaced this machine with a competitors product that costs less than the part except for the 5-year warranty from Lowes.

Now, the unit is leaking rusty, black fluid from the bottom. I purchased it at HH Gregg in Indianapolis, In. Svs tech called. They have never seen this on such a new unit. Parts and labor will equal $400.00. Calling whirlpool customer care did nothing. I offered to pay the labor of $100, If they would be willing to pay for parts. Talked to a supervisor who offered to sell me an extended warranty costing $300.00. I am a stock owner in Whirlpool, no joy, dissatisfied with faulty product. They are unwilling to make this situation right. The unit is poorly made. I think a $800 unit should last longer than 4-5 years. In 2006, Whirlpool stopped offering a 5 year normal warranty on their units. Supervisor would not let me talk to anyone else.

Last year I purchased a Whirlpool washer at the suggestion of a friend who works at Lowes. It was dented and reduced, but my 20 year old Maytag, although still chugging away, was due for replacement. Am I sorry I did! My husband has recently broken his hip and we were caught in Hurricane Matthew just 1 day after I brought him home. We were forced to evacuate. Upon returning with a mountain of laundry, I found my washer lock light blinking although the washer had not been running when we lost power. I tried opening it but could not. I unplugged and reconnected power to no avail. I called customer service only to find we had to wait 2 weeks for a Whirlpool repair person. He arrived yesterday (Oct 26, 2016) and charged $95.00 to tell me this was an almost universal problem with Whirlpools and the company was aware of it. He called this morning to tell me the required part would cost $495.00! The entire washer cost approx. $500. He stated that he thought Whirlpool should have covered the cost as it was not far out of warranty and a known defect, but he could not get Whirlpool to assist financially. I tried calling myself for an explanation of the fact that they knew these machines had a defective part and yet they sold them. I got a song and dance from the rep. Although my husband was unable to help and I am a 65 year old woman, I went out and bought the cheapest machine I could and manhandled it home and connected it. It is afternoon and I am on my 4th load of well overdue laundry, no thanks to Whirlpool. I intend to make this story public through every internet forum I can find. I have a large extended family and friends and I will make sure they do not purchase Whirlpool appliances if they are looking for a good product and good customer service. I will also be sure to never buy a Whirlpool appliance again.

I call for a follow up, I was told that it will take 6-8 weeks before we get a new door and part for the ice maker. We recently called to follow up on the status of the door just to find out that the order didnt get process until mid August. In the meanwhile, the fridge is having condensation. Water is everywhere inside. Fruits are being rotten because of too much moisture. We called again and they send out the same technician. The technician reported that the fridge will not work properly until freezer is fix. We call whirlpool again just for them to tell us to wait for the part, and gave us an extra 6 month warranty.

I have the model FG1H5040T3NOV water heater and had found this message board. I called the number posted by Chris with American Water Heater and provided them with my serial number. They shipped me the replacement assembly next day and after about an hour, I had it installed and working again. Im not too happy with the fact that it failed, but it does appear they have their act together in getting the replacement parts distributed.Based on the discussion with the person on the phone, my only real gripe is this: the cause of the component failure was potentially caused by a dirty-flame trap that supposedly needs to be cleaned regularly. Since the trap is underneath the water heater and is in no way really accessible, relying on people to see the fine print in the manual (which hardly anyone reads) isnt sufficient. At an absolute minimum, a very clear and apparent sticker should be included on all water heaters indicating this needs to be cleaned and a clear description of how to clean it properly to prevent this sort of unnecessary headache in the future.

Whirlpool with four burner and the model that you self-clean the oven. It had all the features I wanted and Whirlpool has been around for a long time. Cost was right for my budget and it had all the options to it. I would have to move it out from the wall to find the model. Love the oven and the fact that I dont have to use caustic cleaners to clean it but simply have to wipe the dust out. One burner does not work and I will have to get it repaired. I shopped at a scratch and dent sale. The price was right and I could barely see the scratch and it had all the usual warranties. I need moderately priced appliances and if there were expensive features on it that I have not previously used, I would probably decline it. I do basic cooking and do not need expensive accessories. I can on my range and I have found the burners do not hold up well for canning. The burner I use for canning is the only one I have had problems with. That is the only problem I have had with the range at all. If anyone plans to can, consider purchasing the coil that is heavier to sustain the weight of the heavy canner. I would not be afraid to purchase Whirlpool again. My range is about 10 years old and other than that burner, I have had no difficulty. It is a mid-price range.

In less than a year my gas range required a new knob because it froze in place. They covered that but not the 4 new knobs since. I must clarify, its not actually the knobs but the thing underneath that my husband has had to replace ever since to our expense and time. Also in less than a year the paint under the knobs totally fell off. We contacted them about that and the reply was paint wasnt covered under warranty. Obviously they used heat resistant paint on the range top because that is perfect condition even with the constant cleaning, but the angled front where the knobs are I had to sand and repaint, not a good look for the stove. They really couldnt have just used the heat resistant paint for 2 1/2 farther? Just horrible quality and worse service. In 2013 we thought that we bought a 30 cubic foot refrigerator model no. WRF989SDAM from Appliance Direct, Melbourne, FL. Months later we realized that it was only a 27 cubic foot unit. Two months after the warranty expired the unit started failing. Called the dealer and was told that they would have the service department to call us. Never heard from the dealer again. Finally I called an independent service company. After testing the unit the technician told us that the evaporator may be leaking. They offered to replace it for a price of nearly $500 with only a 90 day warranty. Realizing that it would work at least 90 days after the repair regardless if that was the problem or not.I decided that we did not want to spent that much money. Having refrigerator experience in previous years, I decide to add a piercing valve and adding refrigerant. Every few months I have to add refrigerant to keep the unit going. This unit has run nearly all time since the delivery. Corresponding with Whirlpool is somewhat like throwing a bottle in the ocean. I also noticed that Whirlpool has dropped the price of this unit quite a lot, must be to loss of customers. And yes I am 83 years old and handicapped and never had a problem like this to affect me so much.

On the 4th of December, Whirlpool called me and said that the item they had ordered for me has been damaged. I am not satisfied by these products because it is only a drum (it cant break that easily). Purchased side-by-side model fridge, and within a month, the ice-maker froze up. Within a year, the relay switch failed, and caused the compressor to fail. What a lemon. Also, the clear bins in the door of the fridge side, have all cracked. Whirlpool says it is a cosmetic issue, but I think it is hazard and a material processing failure during their manufacturing process. They obviously would not cover any cosmetic issues under the warranty.I was one of the lucky ones, at this point, as the repairs were under warranty (expensive compressor, only by one week), had to buy an extended warranty to cover me in the future. There seemed to be an issue with the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Pump. If a button comes off from your clothing or snap, etc., it gets trapped in the washer pump, causing it to crack and leak. Whirlpool on warranty only allows for one free change and anything after that costs $300.00. This is going to be the third time we are having problems with this and it is becoming, economically, a struggle for us. We have checked every button and snap to make sure they are fastened tightly, as well as any other type of items that may fall off in the wash and become trapped in the pump causing it to crack and leak. These pumps were poorly made and Whirlpool needs to be more aware of this problem rather than telling the customer that they are not aware of the situation.

Explains the dingy whites and spots on darks. Said he just worked on a Cabrio with same issue - had to rebuild seal and bearings - about a $450 job. After reading all these reviews, decided not to attempt to fix this machine. Going to scrap it and start over. $900 for 3 yrs of an inadequate washing machine!! Whirlpool should be made accountable for this inadequate product to all of us consumers who threw away hard-earned money. Reading up on the Speed Queen agitator model. Lots of good reviews. Think I will go back to the old tried and true way of washing clothes.

Less than 2 years old; a loud chirp began and the water dispenser stopped working, along with the ice. Repairman came out--ordered a part. One week later another repairman; another part. One week later another repairman--couldnt fix the problem. By now no cooling in the refrigerator at all. Tech line has to review the findings. Have heard nothing after nearly 3 weeks without a fridge, ruined food, and no ice other than my back yard!

We bought a new refrigerator 14 months ago and the compressor went out New Year’s Eve. Of course, expecting 30 people to celebrate! The first refrigerator Lowe’s delivered was loud and we called and asked to have it replaced, which they did. The second one was also loud and we debated if we should send it back also but we just put up with it! Second mistake was not buying the extended warranty. Since we have always had good luck with WP we didnt purchase the extended warranty. Neither WP or Lowe’s would do anything to help. The repairman who looked at it and diagnosed what was wrong said the compressor was undersized for the size of refrigerator and that it had worn itself out trying to keep up. He said he would not put in the same size compressor or it would do the same thing. Hence the loud noise of this model. I will never shop at Lowe’s again, and after 30 years as a Whirlpool customer, I will never buy another product from them. Also, if you plan to buy WP, buy extended warranty. They also leak water.

We bought a Whirlpool cook stove with a black top in 2009 and this year, in 2011, while cooking a pot of stew, the stove top burner began to make loud popping sounds. When I went to check it out, there was smoke coming out from under the pan and pieces of glass that had exploded out in small chunks. When calling the customer service line at Whirlpool, they told us that it was no longer under warranty and could not be of help. Their only explanation was that they would only cover a new stove top if it had cracked or broken this way when putting a cold pot on a hot burner. They said their technician could tell if this was why the shards of glass were exploded from the burner.

We purchased this large 4 door refrigerator in December 2018, from Costco in Florida, having in mind with the 2 years Manufacturing warranties and 2 years of Costco warranties above the manufacturing warranties. We didnt expect any problems for the initial 4 years. Up on delivery some parts of the unit was missing, delivery guys said they will make a report for the missing left drawers and the parts. We did not have any manuals how to setup and use. After we called the customer service they send us the operating manual. We encounter several other problems with this unit and the most recent one to our surprise the warning light to change the water filter was on. We hardly using the water from the fridge because of the having monthly spring water delivery service. We called customer service and after explanation of our concern and following their instruction the light was on. Finally we were told that whether or not using the water filter has to be changed every 6 months and send us the additional service warranty contract which is $411.95 for 3 years. We still have 3 years 4 months remaining from our original warranty.

The Whirlpool hot water heater model ES80H123-45D from Lowe’s is a free replacement for a lifetime warranty unit that went bad after 8 years. First heater would heat to 154 degrees with a setting of 150. Very good. New one heats to 140 degrees with a setting 150 degrees. Digital ESM screen on heater reads 150, but the water is only 140 by my temperature test. I talked to complaint line 5 times in 7 days and was told to do various test, but the temp never went past 140. They replaced both thermostats and temperature still never past 140 with ESM reading 150. They first told me standard temperature was plus or minus 5 degree range. Then, they changed their minds and said it was 10 degrees. They are calibrating their equipment to operate 10 degrees less then their Energy Smart module reads to cover up a performance issue with their water heater. They say this unit will operate between 80 and 150 degrees—nothing’s said about a plus or minus operating range. I will buy a new temperature gauge to see if my old one is correct. It was tested against a digital one a couple of years ago when I had a new dishwasher installed by Lowes. The installers gauge read over 152 and mine read 154 degrees at the sink next to the new dishwasher, so it was close to accurate at that time. Whirlpool is happy with their under-performance.

Bought the model before this just over 2 years. Conveniently it broke just after the warranty expired. I chose not to buy a extended warranty as my last fridge from KitchenAid is over 20 years old and never had a single problem with and still operates like NEW. I can’t say that for my Whirlpool which was very expensive. It has been with an issue within the ice maker for over 8 months. Every computer board has been replaced twice with no fix. Then tried to replace the cooling fan within the ice maker unit seven times. Whirlpool could not find the right part, as the wiring had changed mid model and have no record of when it was changed and what models affected.Certified Whirlpool technician was great and so apologetic. I had taken 7 Mondays off to meet him to only have the wrong part time and time again. Whirlpool support tech line basically said he was wrong, yet I witnessed all visits and my 3 plug fan unit did not match Whirlpools newer part that was 2 plugs. I was not happy missing so much work because Whirlpool is incompetent. Finally my tech ordered a whole new ice maker, including the cooling fan. Lo and behold, Eighth time, parts did not match. He again called Whirlpool tech support and reordered another set one final time. Another Monday to find that this time the parts did fit, but cooling fan still did not work. He called Whirlpool tech support again. They started to trace wires one by one.Whirlpool tech support said it was a bad or broken wire somewhere in the cavity of the fridge buried in insulation and was not replaceable. In other words I have a $3000+ refrigerator that is useless. Whirlpool said they would replace the unit. But when I called, they said since I didnt have an extended warranty, they would prorate it and it’s going to cost me over $1000 of my money to to replace due to a manufacturer wiring defect after only 2 years. What the Heck, I was willing to pay to fix it, but Whirlpool can’t fix it. Don’t buy a Whirlpool product as they are Junk and do not stand behind their BRAND!!! No matter who I talked to, they kept falling back to their word track of it’s my fault I didn’t get an expensive extended warranty, yet they can’t fix a wire they installed incorrectly.Wires don’t just break after 2 years. You get longer warranties for cars for the Love of God. I asked them to just send me the money they were willing to put towards a new Whirlpool fridge, so I could buy a Real Brand that stands behind their products like KitchenAid. Of course the answer was NO. Buyer Beware, don’t buy a Whirlpool anything. Did I mention my Whirlpool certified technician was having a Whirlpool dishwasher issue that Whirlpool can’t fix and that’s his profession. Same type of response. Don’t Buy Whirlpool Products, they are Junk and you will get No support from Whirlpool!!!

I purchased 4 whirlpool appliances at Leons in Mississauga. The side by side refrigerator was replaced within a few weeks. Got a new one and have had that one fixed at least 3 times already. The stove was serviced 3 times now, the washer broke so many times. They gave me a refund. The microwave broke as well. They told me it was not fixable, then I called Leons and they said it was too old. It was only 18 months old. Did not get anywhere with the microwave. Had to buy a new one. The only appliance I had that didnt break was the dryer. So far. The fridge now has broken inside, the crisper wont slide in and out at all. Cant be used. I bought a warranty on all the appliances, and even though I had a warranty, when a coin got stuck in the washing machine because the drum inside kept banging because it was in need of new struts, they still charged me 135.00 to fix it. Two to three weeks later a repairman came and put new shocks on it. Finally after having it repaired about 5-6 times in a year and half they gave me a refund at Leons and I went to pick out a new washing machine. Overall I have spent about 6-8 hours on the phone complaining and making appointments with Whirlpool Canada.

I purchased a dishwasher from Menards. It was a top of the line Whirlpool Dishwasher. We ordered new cabinets for a kitchen upgrade and when the cabinets arrived they were damaged during Thanksgiving holiday. We purchased the dishwasher and it sat in our garage until the second set of cabinets arrived in mid January.Once the GC installed the new cabinets we noticed a small dent in the front of the stainless steel dishwasher. I notified Whirlpool and they took my model and serial number. The supervisor April said there is nothing that I can do. You passed the 30 day cosmetic warranty. I explained the issue to her and she didnt seem to care. The dishwasher sat in the garage for 7-8 weeks. This is not the consumers fault. This company could of sent a service mechanic out and replaced the front panel. But she chose to ready some meaningless policy to me. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again, and I will tell everyone about the poor and unprofessional service that Whirlpool offers.

Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. Ive now been told this (liner) is not a replaceable part and since that is the case, the warranty will not cover. Im upset that the repair technician did not process the claim properly and state that the make had a problem freezing. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? I know they hope to sell more appliances this way but you can bet I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool anything! I will also be retracting my recommendations to friends and family to purchase a Whirlpool. The company does not stand behind its products.

Our microwave is less than 8 months old, hardly used and only for heating items. Besides the point, being under a year old. It began to make noise and pop, spark sounds with the smell of burning wires and promptly stopped working. We called the customer service line and began the long frustrating circle of completely bizarre conversation. Maintaining our belief this is a fire hazard and not wanting it in our home they insist on a repair person coming after trying to sell us Extended warranty, Why would we want Extended warranty when the warranty is NO warranty, it seems, whatsoever. After requesting to speak to a supervisor 3 times. A overly bubbly person comes on the repeat same spiel and to make an appointment for 1 week away from 8am to 4pm to be available for a phone call to make an appointment to see about repair on said fire hazard microwave that is less than a year old. This appointment is made with repair place and they too are confused and noted Whirlpool said this is not covered under warranty, and they too would contact them.Today Whirlpool Canada calls and gives number to repair place to book appointment, Hello we already have one and the frustrating verbal dance continues. 5 minutes after this call the repair place calls, as whirlpool contacted them as well to book appointment, which we both could agree this is the bizarrest situation since we already have an appointment, from their appointment. We keep saying we feel unsafe, this is a fire hazard. Which they completely ignore. This is unacceptable and extremely poor service.

The electric range was purchased June 2011. In June 2012, I purchased the extended warranty from Whirlpool (or their agent). The range is located in a summer cottage, so it has minimal use. I cleaned the self-clean oven last week after carefully reading the manual. Manual did not state to remove the chrome drip pans on the top, just “remove oven racks and storage drawer contents”. The oven cleaning caused the right rear burner pan to turn bronze/black. I called Whirlpool. I was referred to Warranty folks who told me they will not cover it because it is cosmetic and referred me back to Whirlpool (as it was WP instructions that were incorrect!) I called Whirlpool and they will not replace the chrome pan. I can purchase one. This is not my fault as aforementioned. I have been a Whirlpool customer for years. Unfortunately, I can not rate this machine LESS than one star. I would rate it ZERO. We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine model WTW7800XW0, 2 1/2 years ago in 2011. Since that time, we have had nothing but trouble from this machine. The machine basket gets off center when you have heavy items in there like jeans or a large load of towels and just stops working until you raise the lid and even out the clothing in the basket. If you wash something like a throw or a set of sheets in it, they get all twisted and wrapped around the thing in the center and end up in a big mound. We have had the glass top lid replaced on this machine TWO times over the last 2 years because the plastic frame on the lid around the glass cracked and broke and became warped in a raised position. This caused the machine to stop working because the machine will not wash clothing unless the door is locked down, and the door cant lock if the lid is cracked and warped and broken. So you have to set something heavy on top of the lid to get the lid to lock so you can wash a load of clothing! TWO times we have had repair people out to our home to replace the lid and now the lid is cracked and broken again, for the THIRD time! This is THREE broken lids in just over 2 years. Unacceptable!! The hinges on the lid that attach the lid to the machine are also rusted. This rusting has happened on all the lids that we have had replaced in the last 2 years. I will never, NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product again, EVER. Their products are inferior quality and JUNK. We have the Whirlpool dryer also to match the junk washing machine and the quality is just as bad but we are living with it because we have no choice right now. It takes 2 hours to get a load of clothing dry and forget drying jeans or towels; it takes forever! Whirlpool makes a dreadful product and their customer service is even more dreadful. =(

The refrigerator does what it is supposed to do. The fact that I had to have it repaired only after 1 year of ownership confounds me. The space in this side by side is a bit crampy. Seems like Im always shuffling things around. I truly believe that Whirlpool made the condensation tray underneath the unit out of cardboard. We purchased our brand new home ten years ago and we were thrilled it had a double wall oven unit that I had always dreamed of owning. Well, the first time I used the self-cleaning mode that dream became a nightmare! The oven was in cleaning mode and I was so happy as I had never had a self-cleaner before! When the cleaning was done, the door remained locked and the control panel was not working. After making sure it was cooled the next day, I called for warranty repair. They came out and fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thinking it was just a glitch and went on with life. Due to my husband’s business, we only live in the house part time as we do extensive traveling. My children are grown, so my cooking is mainly holidays and birthdays when we all get together. Since it is used so seldom, the need to clean is not as often as others might be. The next two times I cleaned it the same thing happened. The third time they came out they informed me that it was getting too hot in the cleaning mode and the steam was going into the computer panel and melting the electrical wire. They also said I would no longer be under warranty and from now on it would be my issue. The next two times I cleaned the oven, I did so the old fashioned way and skipped the self-cleaning. This week my oven started beeping and giving me a code and will not work. I called my trusted repair man and this is what I learned. The computer board is probably toasted. They no longer make the board, so he will have to send it out to be rebuilt. This will take 10 to 14 days and the cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $650.00! Are you kidding me?! How is this my issue? I have checked faithfully every few months, assuming that others are having the same issues, and that Whirlpool would be doing the right thing and recalling these ovens. Stupid me! This last time I had not even used the oven in three days and it still went out? I am old enough to remember when the first place you went to look for appliances was Whirlpool because they were good, they lasted and the company stood behind them. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. From now on they will be the last place I look! I’m not sure what is going to happen, but I can assure you I am not spending $650 to repair this piece of crap!

We purchased a new home in July of 2011 and we paid extra for the upgraded appliance package, which included a Whirlpool Microwave/Convection Hood Combination unit. We have Model # GH7208XRS3. We use the microwave a few times a week and only used the home 6 months each year during 2012, 2013 and 2014, for a total of approximately 18 months. From the very beginning, we had trouble with the microwave control panel turning itself on and the electronics going through various timing and programming functions independent of any human operator.During the combined two-year warranty period from July 2011 July 2013 (the Manufacturers Warranty lasted one year and the Developers extended Warranty lasted an additional year) we had 5 service calls on the same issue. The Authorized Repair Center repairman called the Whirlpool Tech Line while he was in our home and was told that there was a flaw in the design of this model. They replaced the door and then when it acted up again, they replaced the control panel. In Nov. 2012, after the repairman told us the door needed to be replaced again, we asked for a new appliance since we had the same issue repeatedly and they had already tried to fix it by replacing the door and it was still under warranty. We were told that Whirlpool would not replace the appliance until they had tried to fix it three times and we needed to get a new door again. We were told that because it was the same issue repeatedly, we would get a replacement if it still went bad after the warranty was up. So we had the door replaced again, which did not fix the problem. In late 2014, we again had the same issue with the control panel and made a call to Whirlpools Customer Experience Center. At that time, we were told that the warranty was no longer in effect and Whirlpool would do nothing to fix the issue. Even though it was the same issue that they had attempted and failed to fix while under warranty, the company would no longer stand behind the promise of customer satisfaction and told us they will not replace a 3-year-old microwave. When I asked the Customer Service Rep to speak to a Manager to escalate the issue, I was transferred to the Tennessee Office. When I got the same repeated run-around from the Supervisor, Melissa, I asked that Customer Service Supervisor to let me speak to a Manager and she told me she could not give me the name of anyone else to speak with and hung up on me.I am writing to you to express my extreme disappointment in Whirlpool and the products reliability, the way the company has handled fixing the problem and especially in the conduct of the Customer Service department. Whirlpool gave us nothing but a run-around for the years the warranty was in effect, knowing that this model has a design flaw and trying to do band-aid fixes until the warranty ran out. We were told that our only option now is to pay to have the same problem fixed a fourth time or purchase a new microwave.Whirlpool has trained their Customer Service people to be polite but ineffective and obstructionist on the phone and then hang up on the customer when they cannot resolve the customers issue. I believe that Whirlpool should be committed to customer satisfaction and making sure that their products work as intended and fix the problem that was reported while under warranty, even if it no longer in warranty. Whirlpool should be as disappointed as I am that after three attempts the problem is still not fixed and should be committed to customer satisfaction enough to replace the appliance after three failed attempts.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer - I have had all of the problems that all of the other 900 people have complained about! The washer does not wash anything properly. I have even experienced having something such as a bit of cereal stuck to a dishcloth and it was still on there after a full wash cycle. All of my whites are now grey and stained. All of the sheets end up with a huge dirty ring the size of the tub in the middle of them. Everything comes out in a tangled mess of knots! Very frustrating! Everything comes out smelly as if its been sitting in the washer for days. Nothing smells fresh and clean like it should. Energy wise, we are using two and three times the amount of energy as I am washing and drying things for two or three times over, which brings me to the dryer. I put one single load in and it takes two or three cycles to dry it properly. This is unacceptable and I cannot believe that we cannot get some satisfaction from someone in this regard! We bought our set from Sears and I feel that they obviously know of this problem and still continue to sell Whirlpool products! Weve all been taken for a ride and Whirlpool should be held accountable for ripping people off this way. Someone please help!

He suggested to junk the washer, it will cost more to repair than buying a new washer. In addition my clothes did not clean properly, soap stains on clothes because it does not use enough water. This was about $1000 purchase that lasted less than 4 years! I am done with Whirlpool and suggest to anyone not purchase a HE washer, nothing like the old style agitator washers.

I love my Whirlpool front loader washer. It is replacing the Maytag Neptune
I love my Whirlpool front loader washer. It is replacing the Maytag Neptune I had for a few years. This Whirlpool has outlasted that Neptune so far by 3 years! So far no issues. I only wish I had purchased the matching dryer at the time.
