I actually need help, we have had our over the stove microwave for two years, for the last 8 months it has inconsistently worked. We have to wait for the light to come on before it will come on and here lately, I have push on it to get it to work. This happens daily. Does anyone have any suggestions, I would hate to have to replace a two year old microwave.

I hate my Cabrio units. Dont waste your money on these machines. I stay frustrated because I have to work so hard doing my laundry. Clothes not clean, laundry liquid on clothes, parts of clothes not even wet, debris left on dark colors from spin cycle, lint all over dark clothes from dryer! Mad in Texas.

Bought a Whirlpool French door refrigerator in March 2014 and have had to have it serviced 4 times now - all for the same issue. We get frost in the refrigerator (not the freezer, the refrigerator). The same parts keep being replaced but they are all defective. This last time the service tech said he contacted Whirlpool and they had a redesigned part that should take care of it. Within 3 days of the new part being installed the frost is back. The other issue is the loud noise of the compressor. We have had multiple Whirlpool products through the years, but this is the last.

My $700 Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine just broke after only 16 months of having it. The error code that comes up is f 51. With some research, I found that these machines are notorious for breaking down just after warranty with an f 1 code for older machines and an f 51 code for newer machines. Whirlpool is well aware of the breakdowns and the defect inherent in these machines and still sells them with no warning or no recall to fix the problem. I contacted the company and they refused to fix it for free and I understand the fix will now cost me another $300 to $400! What a scam! I will never buy Whirlpool or any of their other products again!

Home is new construction. Moved into our home in May 2015. All appliances are Whirlpool. The Microwave (model WMH32519CS-1) stopped heating in September 2015, service tech replaced the tube and capacitor. Microwave stopped heating again on Nov 16, 2015. Service tech notified again. Each time it takes 3+ days to get the service tech to look at the oven. This will be the 3rd Magnetron Tube in 6 months. This should not be happening. Contacted Whirlpool direct, asked if we could get the entire oven replaced with a new one. I was informed that this was not a company policy. It was a real waste of time talking to customer service. They are clueless and could care less about what is happening with our oven. I have had microwave ovens for years and have never had this kind of issue. Whirlpool has a real problem here.

I bought a 40-gallon hot water heater in November 2007. First problem I had with it was in 2009 when the pilot wouldnt stay lit. They sent me a requisition number to take to Lowe’s to pick up the part (igniter) and gave me a service number to give to the plumber to fix it. Plumber actually told me these heaters were junk and this wasnt the last problem Id have. Last Sunday (January 2012)--here we go again. Pilot went out and wont stay lit. Whirlpool is telling me its because I have a draft. Yeppers, that must be it because after they had me (arthritic 53-year old) and my disabled husband performing circus acts trying to relight it, then it was the filter on the bottom, then it was a draft. Last time I tried to light, which really someone as blind and disabled as me shouldnt be doing anyway, I about blew up. I hate getting ** by big corps. I filed a complaint with state Attorney General. If that doesnt work, hell, I think Ill take both Whirlpool and Lowe’s to small claims court. What do I have to lose? $35? Their fancy-schmancy lawyers will probably charge them a couple grand for their efforts. Im sick and tired of getting the short end of the stick. Since when is a hot water tank supposed to last a mere 4 years? Oh, by the way, Whirlpool says it’s all on me now--well see about that. First of all, both of these chumps just lost a customer and I Facebooked by friends about this pleasant experience plus included a link to this page. Consequences are all mine, I guess. Its pretty swell bathing in a sink full of water that you heated on the stove. I dont have any money because Im too busy giving it all to big insurance and big pharma right now. What a country!

We bought all whirlpool appliances at our new home 4 months back. Our refrigerator has stopped working from the last month. We had 7 different service team people come in to check and they temporary resolve the issue (taking out a plastic piece from the top of the refrigerator, just re fixing the ice machine, or just walking out of our home doing nothing).Friday someone came and tried fixing it and took about 3 hours. The fridge completely Broke down after that in about 6 hours. Whirlpool customer care wants to send another technician in and want them to have them talk to their technician and maybe after that they can do something. This is the 8th time some technician will be coming home. And clearing these technicians curse whirlpool and dont call them. The customer team at whirlpool suck, there is no damn replacement or repair policy. All scheduling is after a week and whirlpool does not give a **. I really hope this company is sued for the emotional and mental stress and the harassment they cause to their customers. Very frustrated. Have no idea what to do.

I bought washing machine Whirlpool Cabrio Model WTW7300XWO two years ago. It only lasted 2 years and the tub seal and tub bearing went bad. I called Whirlpool and they wouldnt replace defective part on their dime. I talked to supervisor and they still refused to admit they needed to fix this broken product on their dime and make it last longer than 2 years. They claimed only a 1-year warranty. This is totally unacceptable to have a supposedly good washer that you pay $700 for (manufacturer price $899) last only 2 years! Very, very disappointed! I wouldnt buy from this company again!

My washer is nearly 7 yrs. old. It has almost been a full-time spectator sport. Good thing its in the kitchen! Twists sheets so badly - on sheets setting - that it stops and I must undo the balloon its formed and rearrange the wet, heavy 2 sheets and 2 pillow cases. Now, it cant even finish the clean washer cycle without stopping. It seems it doesnt use enough water to do the job of washing items thoroughly. And it balks at heavy loads - which is what we bought this washer to do - blankets, rugs, quilts, etc. Two people, now only one, and two small dogs. I should have at least 10 years of service from that purchase. Repairman says $300+, and he sees it as a very common code. Build them to last or give up. Im disgusted with Whirlpool now.

I bought a Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer in 2008 and it began showing F71 and F70 error code in 2011. I paid approximately $1,000 for the machine. The washer wont finish the cycles and often wont start. When I press the power button, I hear the 3 beeps and after a while, shows the F71 error over and over. The information I gathered online indicates that many people have the same problem. The repair cost is at least $550 to replace the user interface circuit board and is no guarantee. This is ridiculous. How could GE sell consumers this kind of junk that fails to work only after 2 years. I had a top loader for 12 years with no problems, not a single repair call. My wife and I are extremely frustrated with piles of dirty clothes and no washer to clean them. I want GE to refund the cost of the washer on a 10-year prorated basis. This is only fair.

Approximately 2 years after purchasing a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side/counter depth refrigerator, I noticed cracks on the interior walls. This was in 2011. First, I contacted the service contract people. They told me this was not covered under the policy. Next, I wrote & called the company. They told me they could send someone out to EPOXY the walls. I told them this was not at all acceptable to me and that I believe this is a defective product. I have never heard of this happening to a refrigerator. I am also quite concerned that there are toxins emitted through these cracks. After a time with no response, I wrote them again. This time, they referred me to Ms. Alicia ** at the Exec. Offices. She wrote asking me to call her. After making several calls & leaving messages to no avail, I wrote her asking that she kindly write back to inform me what the company was going to do about this defective product. I cant help thinking they did not want to commit to anything in a letter because I never heard from her or anyone else at Whirlpool. Small Claims Court cannot help as the company does not have an office in New York. I am very worried about the possible health hazard this possesses. I am very careful to completely cover all food inside the refrigerator. At this point, the cracks have increased in size and new ones have appeared. I am very upset over the lack of concern and lack of response from Whirlpool.Ive owned many Whirlpool appliances through the years and trusted the brand. This is not a cheap appliance. Consumers dont expect to spend a few thousand dollars on a product just to dump it in a year or two. Given the size of the Whirlpool Corp., anyone would think they would simply replace their defective product to keep their reputation if not for the health concern of their customers, which should be a priority. Over the past few years, I have had increased respiratory problems and so have other family members. I believe its due to the emissions from the cracks. I will have to dump this defective refrigerator before it gives me cancer! Thanks Whirlpool, great doing business with you.

Purchased a new Whirlpool washer and dryer at HH Gregg about 4 months ago. We complained to HH Gregg that the low water washer wasnt working correctly. It will only get about an inch of water in it causing buttons to be torn off... just beating up wet clothes. HH Gregg told us to try a few things. When we went back to HH Gregg with the same complaints they told us it was too late and call Whirlpool. Serviceman came out and said everything was fine with the machine, we just need to load more clothes! We are only 2 people, one of us wear a uniform and needs washed when we may not have a full load. Called Whirlpool to complain again and they said there wasnt anything they would do except send out another service person for a second opinion, which just means taking more time off of work. HH Gregg talked us in to this type of low level washer. We are still making payments on it!!!!

I bought a portable Whirlpool dishwasher on Jan.16 2016. We didnt buy extended warranty. After all, it was suppose to be new, should outlive us. It wont drain, my husband took the top off to see if he could fix it since I was told by Sears that no repair person is available in our area. I am only 10 Km from Saint John N.B. He found he couldnt take the front or back off, its all one piece, he is 84 years old. Under the top, it shows different colored screws, which tells us it was a used one or had been re-conditioned. I am very disappointed in Sears, have been a customer for many years. Everything in my house is Kenmore except for the dishwasher, only because they had no Kenmore. I might add that it wasnt used much. Its just two elderly people and only used when we have company. I cant afford another one. I bought this one from 1,000.00 I won on Lotto Max. I am so upset about this. Appliances should last longer. My Kenmores have.

While my oven was running the 3 hour self clean cycle, the glass on the inside of the door cracked. It was in the middle of the cycle so I tried to call whirlpool to see if I should hit cancel or if it would cool too quickly and make it worse or what to do. First person was young and stumbled with English in the service department. He couldnt answer my question, just schedule for me to pay for service to come out. After I got upset and said there must be someone to talk to, he sent me to parts who said she can only order me parts. All I wanted to know was was if flames were going to shoot from the oven or what! I told her that I needed to talk to someone who knew something about ovens and she asked if I was calling her stupid and hung up on me!

Just purchased Whirlpool top load large capacity washing machine with no agitator at Lowe’s three months ago. I sit at the kitchen table in my freshly washed exercise clothes and smell body odor. There were six exercise items in the load and supposedly enough soap. The load washed for 45 minutes last evening. Yard work clothes washed yesterday are not clean. I had to remove grass from the bottom of the tub. When I iron my smocks for work, since I work with animals, I pick pet hair off of them as I iron. Judging from other reviews, this torture won’t last long, before I need to replace this piece of junk. My last washer lasted 20 years. If it didnt leak water, it would still be running. Thanks Whirlpool, I guess the joke is on me!

Purchased double range ovens. Enamel is flaking off within 2 years. Whirlpool denies defect. They wont replace it. Any other folks with similar problems? What can I do to have it replaced? I remember the old ovens and how the enamel just stayed and stayed and stayed. Never a rust or flaking issue in those old time models. Any expertise on how the enameling process may be compromised in the newer manufacturing process (cutting corners or costs). Any options for a class action here if a commonly experienced occurrence? If similar experience drops comments/review below as a one liner - just state enamel defect. That way can figure out the number of folks with issues. Id like to take action if given the opportunity, and more so if this is a common occurrence. Lawyers are costly for one-off complaints, but there is power in numbers (think United Airlines).

Cabrio washing machine - I have had the exact same problems as all of the above... lid locks occasionally ... after many frustrating tries. I am ready to pick up this stupid washing machine and pitch it in the junk pile! Soap on clothes so I have to redo ... except many times it takes forever to get the stupid machine to restart... Most times I end up rinsing things by hand in the sink. We are constantly itchy from soap residue. My clothes do not come out clean. Especially the towels. Clothes are not spun out as much as they should be... Have been doing it over again by hand many times... which is not good because They still have way too much water in them and it takes 2 -3 Times longer to dry them! I am so disappointed in this set. I always thought Whirlpool was a great brand but, sadly, I was terribly mistaken. Never again. Finally got someone to say they have to replace all the controls. They say they will send parts but I have to pay someone to change it out... sounds like they admit there is a problem but will not accept full responsibility for it. I did not make the item so why do I have to pay to have it fixed? I believe they should issue a recall and make all of us believers in them again. I guess its my fault for buying their product? So... doesnt clean, spin, rinse, lock and has a bad odor... not a great product, is it?

I bought a Whirlpool water heater in 2009. I paid $588.46 at Lowes. Turns out it is in a class action lawsuit for faulty thermocouple. I was given a coupon from Whirlpool for 2 new thermocouples as part of the class action lawsuit. The thermocouple goes out on it every 1-3 months. You never know when youre going to have a cold shower getting ready for work in the morning. I literally could have bought a new water heater for what Ive spent on thermocouples the last few years. The last two times it went out, I had to replace it twice within 1 day. Im sick of replacing it and have decided to install a new hot water heater. Am posting in regards to a brand new dishwasher that I purchased the first part of February 2020 from Menards. The dishwasher I bought is Model # WDT730PAHB and Serial # F94519386. I had the dishwasher 10 days and it stopped working after running only two times. I checked the breaker box and all electrical connections to the machine and it was getting electricity, but would not turn on at all. I called the store to return it and they only have a 7 day return policy. Since then Whirlpool has been contacted and I have had two service calls from Whirlpool. The mother board has been replaced (which I waited two weeks for the part & five hours for a service man) and still it will not come on. Now I am waiting on a wire harness, ordered on March 4th or 5th and still not here. I completely understand wanting to fix a broken machine, however this was a new dishwasher that only worked for 2 washes. I have now been without a dishwasher for almost 2 months, which in light if our current world situation isnt a huge deal, however this is a time when sanitation is very important. I feel like Whirlpool should offer to replace my new machine with a new machine and not something that is refurbished. At this point it is costing more to repair this machine than to just replace it. Every time I call Whirlpool I get the line of we have to repair it. Give me a break. Take care of your customers!!?? #neverbuyawhirpoolproduct

We have had our Whirlpool Cabrio washer for quite a few years. I agree that the machine is a piece of garbage. Every load is unbalanced. You have to stand there when the spin cycle starts, with your finger on the pause button, so you can rebalance the load, which is no easy task. My 80 minute whitest whites cycle took 2 1/2 hours to complete. Thank goodness I started the load at 5:30am. I hate this washer and anytime I am in an appliance store and see someone looking at it, I inform them it is a piece of junk. I purchased a brand-new, $4600 36 gas range online. They finally installed all appliances by 10:30 pm last Friday, July 8, 2011. On Saturday, July 9, 2011, I woke at 2 am to weird smell (gas). Jenn-Air said it was normal for some gas to come out and that they have sent the repair technician out three times to not find any leaks. The gas company red-tagged the stove saying it was hazardous. Jenn-Air has terrible customer service. I was on the phone Monday to Friday this week, every day talking with safety managers to supervisors with no results. This will be the LAST Jenn-Air purchase EVER!

As I write this, I am on my 5th service call in four months of ownership. The machine runs short cycles and requires us to not only do an extra rinse, each load requires an additional Quick Wash (with extra rinse) to get the detergent out. We use so little detergent that a 75 fl. oz. bottle has lasted four months with over 50% left. The techs Whirlpool sends are great. The call center first level people are fabulous. The supervisor is not helpful proclaiming that it was fixed. However, we still have to re-run the clothes every time.

I purchased my first Whirlpool washer in 1959 and have been true to the brand since. This was a big mistake when I bought the WTW4950XW0. At first I thought it was the learning curve on my part with the new technology. The very first wash load was dry on the top layer....never got wet. Then there was the blinking red light .....you could never leave the room and expect it to continue to do anything. One solution I found was to unplug the washer....wait 30 seconds and plug in and follow with lifting the lid and then close the lid followed by holding the start button down for several seconds. This worked sometimes.Very noisy....sounds like a plane taking off after the gears shift and lots of clicking and a long pause to have the water to enter the washer. I have run out of patience. I am going to buy another washer today. I called Whirlpool twice for advice and they offered none but a high dollar repair and no compensation for the lemon I had in my home. Enough is enough.

I purchased Whirlpool Refrigerator model WRF989SDAM02 in June of 2014. I began having problems with the ice forming into a solid block shortly after having the refrigerator installed. I called for service several times over the next year trying to rectify the problem. Once the warranty had expired I continued upon the advice of Whirlpool Customer Service to schedule their certified Technicians to work on the problem. A year and a half and several hundred dollars later I am still unable to get ice cubes when desired.Ultimately I was advised that I would need to use the ice maker once a day to keep it from forming into a block. When this didnt solve the problem I again contacted Whirlpool, had another of their recommended service technician come and give his advice. I was told that the ice maker needs to be in constant use or it forms a block and this is a defect in the design of this unit. A Pro Tech Appliance Inc. Technician, an authorized Whirlpool technical representative, said the only way to have usage of ice would be if I made sure to dispense ice a minimum of 8-10 times a day. This is completely impractical and just plain ridiculous. I contacted Whirlpool again. They refuse to acknowledge this is a defect in the design of this model. I have replaced all parts that can be replaced, had the unit resealed and have paid for multiple service call. Whirlpool will provide no remedy for this problem. Now that the unit is out of warranty they have refused to provide a resolution even though its issue began while still covered under the year warranty. The ice in the ice maker is completely unusable and melts into a solid block within 24 hours if not in continual use.

Whirlpool’s water heater coupler. Our plumber came to our home and explained how there was a problem with our type of water heater from Whirlpool that had been sold from Lowe’s between 2000 and 2006. We purchased ours in 2004. I have the receipt. Our plumber stated the underneath screen was clear and in good shape. He also said they had other water heaters with the same type of problem and those companies had provided the new part free and free shipping due to the suit. Whirlpool has not. We have been without hot water for a couple of days and we are hoping to have the piece by tomorrow. Since this suit has already been dealt with, then how do I get my money back from Whirlpool for being dishonest with requiring me to pay? Do I need to file something? I have followed the links and I have been researching it and our model number and serial match the product that was found faulty.

We bought a new Whirlpool counter depth side by side stainless steel refrigerator in January 2012. We have had 7 service calls because things were freezing on the top shelf. They installed a new part and it still froze. They told us to do dumb stuff at Whirlpool like turn the temp up, dont use the top shelf, etc. The money they want for these appliances and you should put a band aid on it to make it function properly? Duh? The final fix was to duct tape the vents to allow less air flow. This appliance should have been recalled. I have since read reviews and it is an ongoing problem. Before buying, do your homework and make sure the other brands are not manufactured by Whirlpool. The Whirlpool hotline for problems is not that service friendly, they have an attitude. I need to replace two more appliances and they will not be Whirlpool. The repair service was great but they are independent companies, not Whirlpool. How do you fix a lemon? Consumers need to be aware of this. Whirlpool would rather spend money on repairs that did not work instead of replacing the appliance. If you want 7 or more repair visits and no results, buy Whirlpool.

I purchased this machine in April 2011. Adequate performance until this past fall. It did not drain properly and began to smell, then stopped working. I called a local certified repairman who discovered an item of clothing trapped beneath the basket blocking the drain pump. $109.00. Less than 2 months later it happened again. The repairman returned and again found a blocked drive shaft under the basket. $109.00. When it happened a third time I called the Whirlpool repair line. A serviceman was sent out and immediately knew what the problem was (prior experience). He removed the basket and once again there was an article of clothing under the basket, blocking the drain pump - $129.00. At this moment it is beginning to smell again. I spent 40 minutes on the phone this morning with Sears and Whirlpool. No help whatsoever. This machine is not even 3 years old. I never overload it and clean it regularly. I bought the washer and dryer as a set because they are quite visible in my home. I have had Whirlpool products for over 40 years and never had a problem. I need someone to stand behind this machine.

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine (new) in 2004. From the beginning, I had problems with the spin cycle. I phoned Whirlpool. I paid for service with no reimbursement. With the costs I have had for service, I could have purchased 2 machines. I have had to go to Laundromat to do wash then come home to dry. I have for 30 years only purchased Whirlpool large appliance. My washer and dryer were always refurbished but they were Whirlpool. I have had a (refurbished) Whirlpool dryer since 1997 with one (1) service call. However, this wash machine, purchased new, has been a money pit and a piece of trash with Whirlpool only giving lip service when calling. Also, going to the Laundromat, I have been amazed at how many individuals I speak with are there doing wash because their Whirlpool washer, mostly even newer models than mine, do not work! And they have the same story. There’s no service when you call. Shameful Whirlpool! Buy your parts from us. Maybe your credibility could be restored. But I will never purchase your Whirlpool or other names under Whirlpool! When I do get another washer, yours will be put on my front lawn with a large sign of your disgraceful products and service!

We have owned our side-by-side model # ED5HVEXVB02 for just over six years now. The first thing that went bad was the ice machine (just days out of warranty). Over the next 4 years weve had to replace 2 of the drawers; they break really easily. Here we are just 6 years out and we are on our 3rd icemaker. This refrigerator is a lemon. I sincerely believe they designed an inferior product so that they could get you hooked. We probably would have been better off after the first issue if we had sold this lemon instead of spending all of this money and future money that it will take to keep this product going.

We purchased a WRF989SDAM03 model French door refrigerator in September. A month later it began to make grinding noises when running. The noises got louder until it sounded like a car idling. We called for service, and the technician diagnosed a failing compressor. They replaced the compressor with some difficulty. Three days later we lost cooling. They replaced the compressor again. Now the refrigerator cools, but it runs 100% of the time. I dont mean frequently, I mean it NEVER. SHUTS. OFF. Its never not running. Today a technician came out, and after 1.5 hrs of diagnostics on the phone with a Whirlpool engineer, theyve declared that it works. Whirlpool refuses to honor their warranty and says that because the unit cools, I should accept that it runs 100% of the time. I can get no resolution from Whirlpool.

Our 4 year old Cabrio top loading washer failed. Apparently there is an engineering design issue with the pump and tub assembly causing the machine to not complete its spin cycle. These items will typically fail between two to four years of operation. We paid $1,000 for what we thought was a high end machine from Whirlpool. After having a local repair company diagnose the issue, we were told by Whirlpool we must use their authorized service companies. After 6 weeks of waiting for service, parts and several trips to the laundromat, we had the repairs completed by Whirlpools authorized service provider. I purchased a whirlpool gold series microwave model #WMH76718AS one and a half years ago, paid $500.00 for it. It stopped heating. Everything else works on it so it looks like I paid $500.00 for a digital clock and a fancy bread box! I went online and read complaint after complaint that the same thing happened to other people. It appears that the magnetron is faulty. I called Whirlpool and asked their service rep how she would feel if she bought a microwave and after 1 1/2 years it wasnt working. She told me that it was man made and that I should EXPECT things to go wrong. She did offer to pay for parts... which did surprise me. But I have to pay for a $45.00 service call and all labor that it costs to fix it. I called the number she gave me and got a answering machine.... still waiting for them to call me back. I most likely will just throw this Whirlpool piece of junk in the garbage where it belongs. I dont want to spend hundreds of dollars to repair a lemon. I feel that Whirlpool knows there is a problem with their product... that is why they offer to pay for parts. But why should their mistake cost their customers money on top of all the inconvenience. Whirlpool does not back their products or care about their customers after they get your money. I will Never buy a whirlpool product again and that includes anything from their sister companies Maytag, Kitchenaid, Jenn-air, Amana and there are many more. So before you buy anything make sure you check to see who you are really buying it from!

I purchased my Whirlpool washer and dryer Cabrio Platinum model in September of 2014 from Lowes and have never been so disappointed in a washer in my life. Not only was it the most expensive washer and dryer set I have ever purchased but it is the absolute worst in performance. It has destroyed most of my clothes and linens, doesnt get them as clean as my former Samsung front-loader, and is constantly twisting up the clothes, getting out of balance and requiring me to adjust the clothes once or twice during each wash cycle. On recent research, I have found that I am not the only one experiencing these problems. Whirlpool should RECALL this series entirely! And I intend to post this review every place I can to prevent future sales of this horrible product.

I paid ~$1200 for a new Whirlpool (French door top fridge and pull out freezer bottom) 7 years ago when I bought my house. I was so excited - and the appliance has been a problem from the beginning. It has always made a very loud knocking noise - even when it was new. I was told by the technician there was nothing he could do and Home Depot wouldnt help me with it either. My freezer has gone out three times - the last time was the day before Christmas Eve 2016 (a few days ago). I lost everything for my Christmas dinner that was in my fridge because that went first. Then when the service man came today, I was told it was the freezer that is causing the problem and everything had to be defrosted - plus they had to order a part that would take 3 to 5 days - so Im now going to lose everything in my freezer as well. All in all with the three service calls and the food I have lost probably amounts to around $800 - $900. I am so upset and cannot get any help from anyone. So, Im just warning you - NEVER buy a Whirlpool!

I purchased a Whirlpool Washing Machine in November, 2015 and today, I had a repair person out who said the bearing had ruptured and the washing machine cannot be repaired - 2 1/2 years later. Contacted Whirlpool Customer Service who would do nothing other than try to explain to me that I should have purchased an extended warranty as they could not stand behind the machine past the one year. Would not even offer sending a tech out on their dime to confirm what my repairman had said that this is a failed production process of these machines - it was nothing that I had done caused this issue. But yet they wanted to sell me another machine. It will be a cold day before I purchase another Whirlpool product.I was shocked at the lack of customer service to assist with a situation that both the location I purchased it from and my own repair tech said that they are seeing so often with these machines. I would never purchase another item from Whirlpool again nor would I recommend any of their items. I will go to great lengths to give others the background on how Whirlpool will not stand behind their products, lack of customer service to resolve a situation or can work outside of what is given to them to correct a situation - this is not OK!

We purchased our brand new home ten years ago and we were thrilled it had a double wall oven unit that I had always dreamed of owning. Well, the first time I used the self-cleaning mode that dream became a nightmare! The oven was in cleaning mode and I was so happy as I had never had a self-cleaner before! When the cleaning was done, the door remained locked and the control panel was not working. After making sure it was cooled the next day, I called for warranty repair. They came out and fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thinking it was just a glitch and went on with life. Due to my husband’s business, we only live in the house part time as we do extensive traveling. My children are grown, so my cooking is mainly holidays and birthdays when we all get together. Since it is used so seldom, the need to clean is not as often as others might be. The next two times I cleaned it the same thing happened. The third time they came out they informed me that it was getting too hot in the cleaning mode and the steam was going into the computer panel and melting the electrical wire. They also said I would no longer be under warranty and from now on it would be my issue. The next two times I cleaned the oven, I did so the old fashioned way and skipped the self-cleaning. This week my oven started beeping and giving me a code and will not work. I called my trusted repair man and this is what I learned. The computer board is probably toasted. They no longer make the board, so he will have to send it out to be rebuilt. This will take 10 to 14 days and the cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $650.00! Are you kidding me?! How is this my issue? I have checked faithfully every few months, assuming that others are having the same issues, and that Whirlpool would be doing the right thing and recalling these ovens. Stupid me! This last time I had not even used the oven in three days and it still went out? I am old enough to remember when the first place you went to look for appliances was Whirlpool because they were good, they lasted and the company stood behind them. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. From now on they will be the last place I look! I’m not sure what is going to happen, but I can assure you I am not spending $650 to repair this piece of crap!

We bought a gas hot water heater from Lowes on Dec. 31, 2010. In July 2011, there was no hot water. After much yelling and headaches, Whirlpool agreed to send out a technician to look at it, since I refuse to go in the attic and I will not work on gas appliances. After 7 days with no hot water, they replaced a valve that failed, they said, because our attic was too hot. The old unit never complained. Eight months later out, the unit went again (and we had an attic fan put in). This time, Whirlpool sent out a local plumber (and I paid for the call) though we had a warranty and extended plan with Lowes?! This time I was told no problem it was too windy and it blew out the pilot. Its funny we never noticed the attic being windy even during the hurricanes. Four to 5 months later, well, you guessed it but this time my husband just re-lit it. Then the next time, 5 months later, my brother-in-law did it. That was August to September 2012. See, this morning, there is no hot water. I had to fight with Lowes since we have the 5-year extended plan. I cannot get anyone to explain why it makes sense to them that a 2 1/2 year old hot water heater has to be re-lit every 4-6 months. Then I went online. Now I know why Lowes and Whirlpool are ignoring the issue. So, anyone know a good lawyer or what are they doing to get satisfaction?

Purchased on 9/12 at Home Depot. Ice maker paid for as stated in ad for home depot, did not come with fridge. Tech needed for warm food, had to repair gasket. In all of my 50 years of marriage and buying stoves, I have never had an oven breakdown. I live in Canada - I purchased three appliances, all Whirlpool 2 years ago. I had to have a service call on the fridge three weeks ago - a little rubber nipple was clogged up and water was running into my freezer. Bill $100.00 - two weeks ago, the broil element in my stove would not turn off when the bake cycle heated up. Actually, you did not have to press the fast heat button as the broil came on by itself. I have been waiting almost two weeks for the part - today I was told it would be another week. The part has to come from the US - what ever happened to Whirlpool Canada???? - I am told the bill will be $350.00 and maybe more plus the service call. I do not find this acceptable. We had the refrigerator delivered in March, 2013. We noticed a leak in February 2014, only because we smelled a musty smell in our garage, and removed the rug outside the door, from the garage to the kitchen. Then we started noticing water in the garage. It was shortly after we determined it was the refrigerator. We bought this at Lowes and they use A&E, and they did not show up for the first appt. They did replace the pan a few days later while we had to replace dry wall behind the fridge. This time around (month later) we noticed the fridge/freezer was not cooling. So A&E came out and determined its the compressor. So now we threw out hundreds of dollars of groceries, and water was leaking all over the floor again from ice thawing. I believe the refrigerator has had problems all along. We have had it for one year. I think we should be reimbursed for the compressor! Thats the least Whirlpool can do after losing so much food and money spent on the wall, and all the water mess etc. I will never buy Whirlpool again, and I will never purchase from Lowes again. We always bought at Lowes, but this was a bad experience, and I get told one thing on the phone with reps and another by A&E.

On August 3, 2009, the ice maker and water dispenser stopped working. After three unsuccessful service calls and the installation of various replacement parts, Whirlpool gave up the effort to fix the ice maker and water dispenser and delivered a new replacement refrigerator on October 15, 2009. Todays date is April 14, 2012 and here we go again, the ice maker and water dispenser stopped working. Luckily, I purchased a five year warranty on the unit. However, after reading all of the posts about fire hazard issues and other various issues with Whirlpool refrigerators, well probably go out and buy a new refrigerator and write-off the $2,500 that we spent for this refrigerator as a bad investment. We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator based upon their reputation of providing sound products. However, based upon this experience, I can guarantee the folks at Whirlpool that our next refrigerator purchase will not be a Whirlpool product or a product of any subsidiary of Whirlpool.

Bought the refrigerator in december 2017. Called them 2 times already and just called them again on sunday. They are coming out friday the 15th again to fixed a leaking problem. The first time was the freezer was freezing up a lot of ice which they claimed it was the rubber on the bottom door of the freezer was not sealing tight enough. Completely frustrated now. Going to contact Consumers Affairs to see what further action I can take.

I just replaced a 4 year Cabiro washer with a Samsung. The washer was making terrible loud noise when spinning. It sounded like a jet plane. The repairman said it was a bearing that was going out and that it was a common problem in the Cabiro washers. Cost to repair it would be $500.00. Last week, it finally started spewing oil from underneath so had to buy a new washer. I will never, ever buy anything made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool said it was off the one year warranty (duh) and they wouldnt help with repairs.

Yes, Whirlpool makes Maytag, Im still paying for this junk. Too much to go into detail. I had to bypass the crummy fuse system in the Bravo dryer and hook up my own 15amp automotive fuse in the dryer to keep it working. This after two lame under-contract Maytag repairmen replaced the dreaded board, which did nothing. The washer goes cabunk, cabunk, cabunk throughout the house and shuts down with an unlevel code (no matter how level the load is) every time it does its load during the spin cycle. The dishwasher handle broke off and had to use a screwdriver to pry the handle latch open, until realized it doesnt even lock anyway and just pulled the door open. Now, the dishwasher has this noise problem which means they designed it to allow pieces of debris to escape past the trap like my other dishwasher had that was easy to remove and clean. Do not, I repeat, do not pay the $3,500+ I paid for this junk. Go buy a Kenmore thats 15 years old off of Craigslist! Youll be better off and it will last longer.

The lid stopped locking just over one year after I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer, which disabled the washer from washing. After investigating, it seems the electronic control board needs to be replaced, which will cost $400 just for the part. I have a large family, including a disabled child, and a washing machine is mandatory necessity that I cant afford to replace after only one year.

I had a Whirlpool oven for 14 years. It worked great and the control board burned up during the cleaning cycle. I purchased a new whirlpool oven that did not have an exposed bottom heating element. It takes way too long to preheat and if during baking, you need to change the temperature, it starts preheating again and the displayed temperature is lower than the original temperature that was set at the beginning; and it takes too long for the oven to reach the new temperature. This appears to be the result of the bottom heating element being hidden. Heating and maintaining a consistent temperature is far more important than being able to clean the bottom of the oven especially when this is a self-cleaning oven.Updated on October 20, 2015: This is an update on my last review. I was cooking a cake at 350 degrees and when the designated time was up, I opened the door to check for doneness. The cake needed to cook a little longer, so I closed the door and the temperature immediately went to 300 degrees and started preheating again which of course caused the oven to get too hot for the cake I was baking. Who is designing these ovens??? Certainly not a person that cooks on a day-to-day basis. I will never buy a Whirlpool oven again.

They sent a Whirlpool authorized repairman to my home with the understanding that since the refrigerator is out of warranty, I would have to pay him. I spoke to Whirlpools customer service, George ** said he was sorry for my inconvenience but that he refuses to help in any way because I missed the warranty period by 4 months. We purchased the Whirlpool double oven gas range from Lowes in July of 2014. The oven heat that boils out onto the stove top when you use either oven makes it difficult to handle the pots on the range top. The first time I used both ovens at the same time the plastic front to the control panel started to melt and the fumes were horrible. It was under warranty so Whirlpool replaced it with an identical panel that also melted when I used the top oven and range top at the same time. Its out of warranty so Whirlpool says its not their problem. From reading these other complaints it is obvious to me that customer satisfaction is not important to Whirlpool - just that profit margin. Build cheap - sell high should be their motto.

On the 10-05-05, I purchased a Whirlpool natural gas water heater from Lows Orem. The unit has a 9 years warranty agreement. Lows sales S0178JC3 647605; cost $378. Model number FG1H5040T3. Serial number 0515140765. Following installation, the unit has failed repeatedly. Since keeping records of the failures, the unit failed either by the gas control valve or the thermocouple on December 2011, November 2011, April 2010, February 2009, and April 2008. Whirlpool has at all times supplied the parts but denied that the parts are technically faulted. Whirlpool has further rejected all requests to refund me for defective product. The major consequences have been an unreliable water heater. There were periods without hot water. Time was spent involving undertaking repairs.

Whirlpool 27 cu.ft french door bottom mount WrF989SDAH White - We took delivery of this ice making fridge mid-September from Sears Canada. 3 weeks later we have ice at the ceiling/wall seam at the back inside the fridge. Water collects along the rubber seal of the freezer drawer which we have to mop up. We said we were not going to use the water/ice maker and its not even hooked up. Water comes down through the water dispenser onto the panel which we also mop up. Moisture in fridge. Temp settings are as factory specified. Whirlpool authorized tech guy gave us the inside info. Hes seen so many design problems with this model and what Whirlpool do is order the tech guys to say to customers we can order the parts and fix it. Whirlpool keep discovering and modifying the problems but you are not allowed a refund off the bat because the tech guys authorized & sent out by Whirlpool are not allowed to give a report to the retailer or say its design defective. So the customer has shelled out money and has to have band-aids left, right and center. Went to Sears to ask for a refund. They refused because tech guy wont give a report to them (but what do we really know eh? Because the tech guy stood in my kitchen and gave a verbal report to Sears but nothing written). So Im in the hole for a crap product that is only a few weeks old and Whirlpool and Sears have got us over a barrel. The tech guy said he was going to challenge their tech line now because hes upset at how many of these band-aid fridges hes seeing now. I want a different brand and model and cant have it because Sears dont have it. In dire straits now.

Paid between $800.00 and $1,000 (cant recall exactly) three years ago and the oven locked recently while cooking a pizza. Couldnt get the lock to disengage and the oven turned on self-clean mode without me doing anything. The pizza burned crispy before I finally got the door open. The failure code for the control panel showed up. I didnt buy the extended warranty because we only needed it to last 5 - 6 years until we do a full kitchen remodel and the really inexpensive (~ $250) oven that was installed by the previous owners to sell the house lasted six years with no trouble. Now we have to pay $391.00 to repair what I consider a brand new oven. In doing some research it looks like the control panel fail is common and is associated with using the self clean mode which we only used once. Great oven if you only need one for a few years and are willing to pay the price.

My daughter bought a mobile home manufactured by sunshine mobile home co. in Red Bay al. The home is only 6 mo. old. In that home there is a Whirlpool microwave oven model # WMH2175XVB-1 Serial # TRY 20 23398. After 2 months my daughter microwave stopped working, Whirlpool sent a repair man out to fix it. He didnt have the parts to repair it so he left to order some parts that he thought might be the problem. When the repairman returned two weeks later with the parts, he replaced a door switch. The oven started to work. About 4 days later it quit working again. The repairman returned for the third time, tried repairing the oven and was unable. I had to help him remove the oven so he could take it home with him so he could try to repair it. At that time I was so angry that the Whirlpool co. would send a repair man out three times to repair something that was obviously junk. When I talked to the people at Whirlpool they told me all they were authorized to do was repair it. I explained the repairman has tried three times and couldnt and that they in good faith replace the unit. The answer I received had to come from a mentally challenged person. If this is the response of Whirlpool about their product, then I want no part of them in the future.

Have a Whirlpool side by side about a year and a half old. Fridge started getting warm, so when I contacted the Whirlpool co, they informed me and sold me a year warranty to cover what the problem is and anything that would go wrong in the next year. The warranty is through Assurant. After contacting them, I found out they could not have a repairman out for another week. Wasnt happy, but nothing I could do. They found out the compressor was bad, ordered the part which showed up the next day, but could not come out to install it for another week. Getting more upset. Put it in and my fridge was hotter than before. Called and they could not have anyone out for (you got it) another week. The new compressor was bad. Ordered a second one, came the next day, and they put a rush on the repair so I only had to wait 4 days this time. Guess what, it still does not work. Had to wait another 4 days for someone to come out. So tomorrow is the day. We shall see will it be another compressor and another week to put it in? I never heard of any company stretching a repair over a months time. I am so angry with Whirlpool, Assurant and A&E repair company; you just dont know. I would not recommend buying or going through these companies. This is very unprofessional.

Add us to the list of those whose Whirlpool Cabrio washer has failed. First, it was the infamous circuit board at a cost of $475 installed. Now, the tub bearing is apparently beginning to fail given the machines new propensity to roar like a freight train during the spin cycle. A letter to Whirlpool resulted the too bad ** letter that everyone else has gotten. This really should be a class action suit money-maker for some attorney. So now the question: Throw good money after bad hoping to get an additional couple of years out of it or bite the bullet and buy some reliable brand?Never again a Whirlpool, thats for sure. I pointed out to them that in the age of the internet, they wont go unpunished for this but theyre nothing if not shortsighted. First, let me say we are so lucky and blessed to get home in time to prevent my home from burning. My Whirlpool range, model 4rf364pxk0, apparently decided to turn itself on (no one home) and grew hotter and hotter. It obviously burned out the thermostat because it was way hotter than cleaning mode. The key pad was melted and sagging inward the control panel warped, heat pouring from it. The racks and interior were glowing orange! My back splash tile blackened and cracked! The oven door locked! Oven hood ruined although it probably saved my cabinets! We hit the breaker! There was so much heat you could feel it on the outside of the exterior wall of the house 30 minutes later! The clean up to my kitchen has been horrible. Black soot and strange greasy film on everything and the stench has been toxic enough to give my husband a raw throat and myself a migraine! Oh and here is the ironic part - my husband was bringing me home from a hospital stay from high blood pressure! It would be almost comic if it wasnt so darn scary! Please, please address this issue before a more tragic story is posted! From looking at this site, it is obvious that there have been other incidence of your stoves turning themselves on and uncontrolled heat. I firmly believe another few minutes and our home would have been engulfed in flames. Now I will spend my weekend shopping for a new ceramic range, hood and tile!

We owned a Whirlpool Duet washer that went out in late December 2011. We bought another Whirlpool Duet washer on January 8, 2012. On July 31, 2012, it stopped working with the error message F24. In WV, Whirlpool contracts their insurance/warranty through ACE Appliance. We scheduled with ACE the next day. They came out on August 6, 2012. The repairman told me it would be 7-10 days for the part. The part was on back-order, so in reality it took 17 days before they returned. It was repaired on August 23, 2012. Today, September 17, 2012, the washer stopped working again with the same error: F24. Whirlpool will do nothing to replace the washer, even though it is less than a year old and we paid $900 for the washer. This is the second Whirlpool we have owned that has crashed. I have two small children (4 and 2) and I am due with number 3 in 3 weeks. While the washer was broken, I spent nearly $80 at the laundromat for washing only - I carried baskets of wet laundry home to dry. And now I get to repeat the same exact struggle less than a month after it was fixed. When asked, the customer service rep told me that no matter how many times it broke, all they would do is send a repairman. They never ever replace appliances regardless of the problem. I am unbelievably frustrated and I want to tell everyone that I possibly can to stay away from Whirlpool appliances! Do not buy them new! Their manufacturers warranty is a joke!

To start off, with this problem, it is causing me more water, and electricity that should not have to be wasted if the machine worked properly. I called the place where I got the machine, and was told to give Whirlpool a call. I did this, and was told that there was nothing that could be done, and if I would like to schedule an appointment for a tech to come out and work on it, they could do that.
