My Whirlpool is reliable, however it does not have a soaking cycle which I would enjoy having. It also has an unbalancing problem when speeding if I attempt to wash heavy loads on the extra large load cycle. However, it responds very well on large loads for heavy washing. Shortly after I got it the timing had to be replaced, but no problems since then. Overall pound for pound for the dollar it is a good machine.

We have had our Whirlpool Cabrio washer for quite a few years. I agree that the machine is a piece of garbage. Every load is unbalanced. You have to stand there when the spin cycle starts, with your finger on the pause button, so you can rebalance the load, which is no easy task. My 80 minute whitest whites cycle took 2 1/2 hours to complete. Thank goodness I started the load at 5:30am. I hate this washer and anytime I am in an appliance store and see someone looking at it, I inform them it is a piece of junk. I havent contacted Whirlpool because I know they wont help with any issues were having.

I love my Whirlpool refrigerator, its great. I have not had any major issues with this brand. I only wish that the freezer was made a little different. Im not a big fan of the side-by-side doors. I would much rather have the one with the freezer at the bottom and the fridge at the top...

I cannot adequately express my dissatisfaction with the Cabrio washer and dryer that I purchased couple years ago. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. That includes Maytag; Kenmore; or Amana products. I have had nothing but problems from the start. The washer sounds like jet engine taking off in the spin cycle. I found out the washer needs new tub bearings ~ $200. The washer is tearing up towels during the wash cycle not sure what the cause is.My washer will only wash clothes in certain cycles (bulk). I keep getting error codes in normal or other cycles. The washer takes long time to fill so it times out during fill cycle. I replaced fill lines and checked for blockage, everything was clear. The washer probably needs either new motherboard or water inlet valve. Not sure which, maybe both? It is impossible to wash a load of clothes without getting the UL unbalanced load indicator. I also have problems balancing the load. I have taken wet clothes out and put them back in with no luck. It takes hours for a load to finally wash. The dryer has had its problems. I just replaced the belt tensioner on the dryer because it was making a terrible screeching sound. The noise was very annoying. I am very disappointed with quality of Whirlpool products. However, don’t worry about improving customer relations because I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. P. S. How come you have not issued product recall? There are 1,000s of similar complaints concerning the Cabrio washer. Frustrated customer.

The unit has performed as I had hoped. I wanted a quiet appliance that performed well, and could accommodate large plates and platters. I never put my knives, wooden utensils, pots or pans in my dishwasher so that was never an issue. I use 1 of 5 cycles available, 1 of 4 options available. Why use something other than hot water? The delay option is used often since I have a tendency to forget to turn it on, but I never let it run if someone is not home. The time left clock is also helpful, but dont count on it being really accurate. The start/resume, delay and cancel options are often used. I used the rinse option once with disappointing results. The silverware caddy is a little small, or my silverware is too large. I do not put any pots, pans or knives in, everything else fits fine because its a tall unit. So tall in fact, that the door comes out much farther than earlier units. Im still getting used to that. The front is brushed stainless with a black plastic control panel, nothing special here. My favorite options are delay and time left. Never have used the heat to dry option. We have low humidity and Ive never had the need to dry them immediately.

We bought a brand new basic refrigerator, freezer on top, no frills, no ice
We bought a brand new basic refrigerator, freezer on top, no frills, no ice maker, no water dispenser (model #WRT359SFYB) in Dec. 2011. For months, things on the bottom shelf of the fridge would freeze. The more we turn the control dial down, the more things would freeze. Finally, everything stopped freezing, including everything in the freezer. After having to throw everything out, we called for service. One year and 4 months out from our purchase date and without an extended warranty, we were offered no help. The repairman said that we had a leak as a result of poor manufacturing and there was no refrigerant left. He filled it but said he needed to check with Whirlpool to see if they would cover the repairs. It turns out they wont. I called them myself and spoke with a manager who offered no options at all, other than paying more than the price of the fridge to have it repaired. I asked if they were okay with their product having such a short life, filling landfills and causing such problems for their customers to which she replied that they are man-made and have no life expectancy. Crazy! For a manufacturer of large, costly appliances, one would think they would stand behind their product more. She also said that she would file my complaint and would have let me know if there was a recall on the fridge or any of its parts. It appears to me that others have had similar complaints. I wonder what warrants a recall. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

The damper switch at the top of my water heater, one I purchased at Lowes stopped working. I talked to someone at the local store, and I was told I had to contain the manufacturer. I called the number on the front of my unit. The tech talked my husband through the restart process...not once, but on two separate occasions. We were told that because it was intermittent, something they decided Over the Phone, they could do nothing. They would neither send a replacement part nor a technician. By the time we had to call back two days later, restart was impossible. JUST to get the part, a specialty piece, we now have to pay for expedited shipping! And either install ourselves, or wait 5 days After Arrival (!!), to get the stupid thing fixed! If they had sent the part out originally when we asked, we wouldnt have to wait for hot water or pay anything for a warrantied piece! Its a racket. Stay away!!!

Oh what a tangled mess you weave! Inappropriate water usage and bad agitator. The brain is not flexible. Most of all it locks me into a contract of this is it, do or die, you have no other options but to start again. It puts my clothes in abused mode! I say no more, taxes will bring me to buy your competitor. It is very large and way too heavy to move anywhere. No!!! I will never buy another. Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - We purchased the (best name brand) from Get It Now and all we ever had was problems. We will fill the washer 1/2 full of clothes and the clothes on top would not even get wet. So we have to do it again, to make sure the rest of the clothes were washed. Many times there was white smudge marks on the clothes, sorta like powder (we use only liquid soap that you recommend). Today I washed a child’s bedspread for the 4th time because the stains would not come out (from a cookie). I had to turn the bedspread twice just to get it wet. I used bulk load and heavy duty load and it doesnt work. Your product is a very big disappointment for the price a person has to pay. I will recommend that no one purchase this product. Your people need to do further research on who this machine cleans clothes.

Our Whirlpool water heater needs a burner assembly replaced. Second time within the warranty period of six years. Parts have to be ordered, so you will be without hot water for several days to a week. The worst part is reaching them. Between my wife and I, we have almost 4 hours invested in sitting on hold waiting for someone in three different calls. They never answer the phone. They give an option to call back. They never call back. Im so frustrated. No Whirlpool products ever again. Im sitting at my desk, hoping someone will eventually answer the Whirlpool line. I dont even have the part ordered yet after two days of no hot water. Who knows how many more hours I will need to sit here and listen to this music on hold. It is incredible in 2021 a company can remain open while offering this kind of customer experience.

Whirlpool dishwasher failed after 16 months. It leaks continuously. they sent a service provider 5 days later out to fix it, then said there would be a $129 fee for coming (this was never mentioned at time of appointment), and the total repair cost would be $208. I wasted a day waiting for repair person to come, I declined the repair due to the cost. I called customer service later, during office hours, and I received the poorest level of customer service I have ever experienced. Whirlpool will no longer receive support from the our family. This machine cost over $500, and a ruined rug. Whirlpool wasted our time, and a day from work. We purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher from Lowes approximately 2 years ago. Serial P32105232. We noticed a dark stain coming up in the hardwood floor. It was a water leak from the dishwasher appears to be from seal when water cycle leaves unit. This has caused over 70k damage to our home. Ruined entire hardwood floor kitchen cabinets warped so all need replaced. Our insurance company has made a disaster after owning home 10 years. Custom cabinets that match the laundry room as well. No to mention. The jackhammer used to bust up 800 sq foot of flooring and the concrete dust in our entire home. Please advise recourse.

I am sorry to have updated that review 2 years later. Whirlpool has actually contacted me after posting on their Facebook support group. I am not sure how it happened but I was contacted by their executive team who is WAY more professional and efficient than their support team. In a matter of days my washer was replaced and installed by a new one - the closet available to the model I had - I did not pay a penny and no questions asked even though the washer was out of warranty. So my answer to you is when you are stuck do your best to talk to the executive team!

Purchased above refrigerator (WRF736SDAM13) over a year ago and it has been nothing but trouble. Ive had service companies out 6 different times. The doors never lined up or closed properly from day one. The final and last attempt to fix was putting caulk in the seal of the doors!! Left door does not seal properly and moisture builds up on inside. I requested several times for a new one and Whirlpool refused. Also purchased microwave, stove and dishwasher. Microwave went out 6 months after using it. They had to replace a major part. At least they did this at no charge. Just the hassle of having to be home 2 times to meet service tech. WILL NEVER purchase Whirlpool appliances again. Ive been using them for in all my homes in the past. STAY AWAY from this model.

I bought a new washer thinking I was upgrading. Wrong!! Well the new so called technology they put into these machines is overrated. They took a good thing and instead of advancing they have took two step backwards in time. I wish I had kept the old washer I had. I think I would rather use an old time wringer washer my great grandmother used. They are probably faster by hand. This new Whirlpool grabs every string on my hoodies and twist my clothes so tight in knots. I cant even remove my clothes until I fight and get mad enough to write a review. Whats up with these new washers?? Get rid of the slots on the Agitator!!

We bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator in September 2009 for $898, which was a lot then. Last fall the ice maker jammed and started dumping ice in the floor. Yesterday, we noticed that things in the freezer werent solid. After checking, we found our frozen food had thawed and things in our fridge werent very cold either. We called Whirlpool which was no help. Then we called a repair man who told us, “There was a leak in the seal system and it was low on freon. Would have to replace a compressor, evaporator and it would be better and cheaper to just buy a new refrigerator. It has just turned 4 years old. I called Whirlpool again and they said they didnt know why it went bad. I said is it a recall or just a bad refrigerator. The girl was no help at all; I kept asking to talk to a tech and finally asked for their corporate office address which she said was 553 Benson Rd., Benson Harbor, Mich. 49022. I now have to buy a new refrigerator and it will not be a Whirlpool.

We have the same complaints about the washer as other reviewers -- have to use deep water wash to get enough water in the tub to clean and rinse soap from clothes and we have to keep the loads small. Dryer thermostat had to be replaced right off the bat. Now on medium heat it just burned patterns into two light-weight polyester fleece items -- the clothes came out with the heat input screen pattern burned into them. Now I wonder if they stuck to the heating screen for any length of time, was it a fire hazard? The burned parts of the items are now stuck to the drum so that needs cleaning. So well be using low heat on most everything and drying them twice, since low heat leaves them pretty wet after 35 minutes. So much for buying energy saving appliances which, by the way, we were proud to buy! But, prior to buying these appliances, we had washer and dryers that last 20 years. Built in obsolescence with these new things? I have no faith in the consumer complaint process anymore. The retailer may care as they are a bit closer to the problem, but the manufacturer? Forget it. Vote with your wallet and dont buy these products.

We had bought a whirlpool refrigerator (Model - DC 205 5S/2016) in late April 2016. Initially I noticed a whirring sound after 6-7 hours of switching it on. As nobody from whirlpool had come for installation or any follow up even after requesting, we let it go thinking that nothing could go wrong with a new fridge. Nevertheless, the disturbing sound continued, until I noticed exposed wires running crisscross atop the freezer box and below it, one even preventing the chiller tray to be pulled out easily. Also, we had to get a stabilizer to reduce the notice even though it was written in big bold letters that it was a Stabilizer free refrigerator. After 8 months of owning it, we went for a three-day trip leaving the refrigerator on and set at point 3 in the cooling knob of which 5 is the maximum. On returning back, I noticed a crack at the top right corner of the freezer door and saw that ice had built up covering that side of the freezer inside. Again, as I had to leave for office within 1 hour, I let it rest and went. In the evening we noticed that the crack had extended, so we defrosted the fridge. The next morning I found a small piece of the freezer door floating in the defrosted water, and the freezer door was unhinged and askew at the top, in fact a part of the freezer doors upper right hinge had broken due to maybe the pressure of ice buildup, which had caused the crack that we saw.Shocking it was at first to learn that a freezer door be made of such low standard material ignoring the other fact of wires jutting out of the freezer at top and bottom. As the warranty period was 12 months, I immediately called the customer care, who put me on hold for 8-10minutes and disconnected, this repeated 2 times after which I was frustrated enough and vowed not to use the freezer again. After almost a month a more responsible member of my family took it upon himself and raised a complaint which was answered and a service person came home with a dirty looking and completely scratched piece of replacement door for the freezer. He informed that plastic pieces never came in warranty and we had to pay for it. Upon asking for further clarification he called his manager, Hemanth who was too rude and informed Madam you have pulled the freezer door apart which has caused this. Also, he was asking me specifically are you lying as you said initially that you left for 3days and now you said 5 days? We had left on a Friday night and came back on Tuesday morning, which means 3 complete days out of station. I never knew the exact number of days mattered as a fridge was supposed to be switched on continuously for days. Also, finally Hemanth was informing like if it was some mechanical or electrical fault we could have done it free of cost. So, I reported the whirring noise and the wires jutting out of the freezer tray. He blabbered at first and then informed me that the sound might be due to voltage fluctuation if you are not using a stabilizer (we were using one even though the fridge was a stabilizer free operation one, phew) and the wires issue he completely ignored claiming it as normal. So we paid in full for the dirty and scratched replacement door and also had to be called as liars and blamed that we had literally pulled off the door. Also, he was the most unprofessional manager that I had ever spoken to as he closed the conversation with, If it was LG or Samsung, they would never even have come for service like this. Enough was enough... Never in my life would I have anything to do with whirlpool nor will suggest this brand to anybody. They use such low-quality products. The warranty promises are just scam + even the managers are so insulting and bad mannered to the extent that I never want to deal with them anymore. Also, they dont think twice before just blaming the customers for their low-quality products. In all my years so far I have never come across a brand that treat their customers like this.

My Whirlpool side by side refrigerator which is not 7 years old has had more repairs than you can imagine. After paying over $1,500.00, I have had a repair service come out at least 5 times. Today, they say I need a new compressor at the tune of $850.00. This combined with my other repairs would add up to around $1,300.00. I am certainly not going to invest any more money in this refrigerator. I wouldnt recommend a Whirlpool Gold for anything. It knotted my clothes up and twisted them to the point that clothes are so badly out of shape, hems are pulled out and some clothing torn. We no longer use the washer. The day after buying and using once, the store sent a repairman out and he said use it on delicate. I have done that with the same results. I bought my washer in December of 2011. Whirlpool washer Model WGD4815EW1. Bought this washer just about 4 months ago and right away I hated it but was told by people that all the machines had gone to the lid lock and that the government had mandated the energy saving devices on the machines so the machine will only put just a little water in the machine. I have been VERY VERY unhappy with this machine. My husband figured out a way to bypass the lid lock mechanism. Then after washing clothes many times I found out in order to get my clothes clean I had to just set the dial to Bulky every time OR I had to wash the clothes 2 times to get clean if I didnt. Once we bypassed the lid lock and then I figured out where to put the knob so the clothes would come clean I was fine until last week the machine just would NOT wash or do anything... it filled with water and just sat there until my husband got the water out. I located a Speed Queen from an appliance store and I am much happier. It does not have the CRAZY lid lock on it. I realize that some children are apt to mess with the washers. But I dont have children anymore and when I did I had a laundry room with a lock up high on the door so they could not play in the laundry room. I dont understand why this so called mandate could not have been done in a way as to allow those with kids to have the option on the machine with a built in code device to set the machine so the lid will lock and those of us without children in the house to opt out of the code to set the lid lock. NO REASON why we cant have a CHOICE. As far as I see it is a way for the government to try control more where they need to keep out. The cars have been designed with safety locks for children to keep them safe, but it is up to you to choose to use them. Same principle! Now for the mechanism to make it so the machine will only put so much water in the machine to wash. Youre NOT SAVING any ENERGY or WATER if you have to wash the loads twice!! This whole mandated business with the newer washer machines is a huge JOKE on everyone. I will be searching out used machines and having them rebuilt because I dont EVER plan on buying another one of these newer machines. If enough people stop buying them the manufacturing companies can raise some cane with the government to get the mandate lifted. NO I will not buy another Whirlpool washer. I encourage some of you out there who LOVE a challenge to figure a way to change the stupid motherboards on the newer machines and create a great business for yourself because if someone else can create it you can recreate it.

We bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer set (Cabrio WED7300XWO) 2 years ago. Within that time, the door seal fell off and needed to be replaced. The drive belt pulley became detached, and now the drum seal has fallen out and had wrapped into the clothes. I have never experienced such a substandard product. We would trade back this one for our 15-year old set we had replaced it with at the drop of a hat. We are retired and have a summer home, and only use this product 4-5 months a year. Never again, Whirlpool!

This is the worst washing machine Ive ever purchased. Bought 12/19. The water level never never goes up high enough, to cover the cloths. I have to add water no matter what setting. I hate that. The sensor isnt working. You arent able to adjust it yourself, its computerized. The water shuts off when you lift the lid so you cant rinse out the soap or fabric softener caps. I hate that. The lid locks when the rinse cycle starts so I have to unlock the lid to add fabric softener. Why lock the lid so soon, wait till its in spinning mode. Really really badly designed!!!! Will never buy anything by Whirlpool ever again!

We purchased a new Whirlpool dishwasher in June of 2014. By February 2015 the racks were rusting. I called loses warranty and they referred me to Whirlpool since it was still under a year old and covered by the manufacturer warranty. They said no problem and would have new ones sent out. Three months later I still did not get them. I called them back and they said that they were not covering them due to rust being normal. This is the absolute worst customer service and it says a lot about how Whirlpool stands behind their products.

Washer doesnt get soap out of clothes. Had tutorial from service man. Must use extra rinse every time and still have soap on dark clothes. Worst washer I have ever owned. I understand EPA demands for less water usage, but clothes still must be properly cleaned.

Purchased a Whirlpool Dishwasher in 2017 as part of a kitchen remodel. I have always had General Electric appliances, and shouldve never changed my brand. I had to have this dishwasher fixed a month after purchase (this shouldve been a clue that this was a lemon). Fast forward to two years, I know have to turn the power off to the dishwasher after 3 uses otherwise it stops running mid cycle and the re-set lights blinks. Ive had a repair person take the thing apart to try and find the problem (at the cost of $250) with no luck. The repair person contacted Whirlpool to see if they could help troubleshoot, the response he received was because it was no longer under warranty they wouldnt even answer his questions, hows that for customer service????

Originally installed early 2007, the very expensive unit went crazy after about 14 months, with random beeping noises, and non-response to keyboard entry. Sometimes unplugging the unit worked. When unplugging no longer worked, the unit was repaired by replacing the keyboard logic boards only to fail again the same way.about a year later. It appeared the heat or steam from the cooktop below the microwave was causing the failures, so we became careful to ensure the fan was on. Last week, after boiling some water, the unit failed again, with error code F2H2, the keyboard error. Didnt Whirlpool expect the microwave to survive heat or steam from the stove/cooktop below? Overall, the unit is great when it works. Unfortunately due to the large size of the 2 cu ft unit, only an identical unit will fit. Im skeptical of replacing my broken unit with another Whirlpool Velos unless this keyboard problem has been fixed in new units. Anybody know if Whirlpool has fixed this problem?

Bought this machine in July 2015 to replace LG front loader that went bad. This machine is the worst at rinsing the soap out of dark clothes, and probably the whites and lights too! Dark clothes always have white streaks and spots all over them. Called Customer Service and was told it was due to too much soap, the way the clothes were loaded, needed to add an extra rinse cycle to load, and/or because there is a water softener in the home. Have changed soaps 3x, changed the way I was loading the clothes, and I doubt the water softener has anything to do with this problem. I dont see how adding an extra cycle is efficient and seems wasteful. This machine is horrible and whether I just got a lemon or if its a defect in this machine, I dont know. Whirlpool doesnt seem to care either. I am going to attempt to sell this one and will not consider Whirlpool for the next one. Do not buy this machine!!

I was never told they were sending an independent contractor to do the repair nor that there would be a charge for the estimate. I contacted Whirlpool and was told there is nothing on their website and I should have asked the service technician before he was at my door if there would be a charge. Therefore, it was my fault and I indeed had to pay the charge when I declined to have my oven repaired. Whirlpool Gold appliances are junk!!! Our dishwasher just stopped working one day. It was about 2 years old. We tried all the troubleshooting ideas we found on the internet. Nothing worked. I had a 13 Year old working dishwasher when I bought this one. Sure wish I had left well enough alone. I think there should be a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool. I had also purchased a new electric range... It is constantly giving me an error message when I try to use the oven. We have to flip the breaker and that sometimes helps. I bought 4 of the Gold appliances... I’m holding my breath on the other 2. I thought I had done a good job researching before I bought. I remodeled my kitchen. It turns out that a company that I believed was reputable and worthy of my business are not.

I purchased a new home and then purchased 4 appliances, all Whirlpool Gold. In less than a year, the stoves electronic ignition and the microwave hood keypad went out. Since they were under warranty, a repairman replaced a bunch of parts and now they are working fine. One month after the refrigerator was out of warranty, the water line to the ice cube maker split about an inch and a half and water would spew out onto the hardwood floor under the unit. We were on vacation for all that month and didnt see any damage until one day there was a puddle in front of the refrigerator. When we pulled it out, we saw that the floor was ruined under the unit, the cabinet next to it black with mold and of course, the line had to be replaced. Whirlpool wasnt interested in the fact that the refrigerator had probably still been under warranty when the split occurred, only that we hadnt reported it before the warranty expired. Next to go was the water seal that goes on the inside of the door of the dishwasher. I was running it about a month after the refrigerator debacle and water came spewing out of the side. The seal had come out and nothing was stopping the water from exiting out the side of the door. Thats 4 for 4 in less than 15 months. I will never buy a Whirlpool product. They couldnt be any worse.

We purchased our a model WTW7800XWO 7 years ago. Our lid kept falling down when loading and unloading. Very annoying. 3 years ago it failed to lock down which means the washer will not start. We learned to press down on the lid sides to get it to lock. Then it became loose where it connects to washer and we duct taped it to make it work. We put up for that for a year before having a repairman attach a new lid. 1 year later it did the same thing... And we put up with it hoping it wouldnt totally fail. Today it failed. Since the 1st repair cost 250.00 we decided that we will get a new washer rather than spend another 250.00. We will go with American made Speed Queen. We have had Whirlpool appliances since we were married 50 years ago.

I purchased my water heater from Lowes about 11 months ago. The heater worked just fine for about 3-4 months then a popping noise started like a drum. Whirlpool said it was a water knock and I needed to install some devices on my water line or a tanks which cost a few hundred dollars. I called the plumber and he replace the main control valve. Same problem again so I called several other times and a plumber came and said it was my water pressure in which his gauge was incorrect. I went Lowe’s to complain and they said they would check into the situation and call me. It’s been several days and no results. Still the same problem. The Heater is a piece of trash and would not suggest anyone purchase one. It a total piece of trash and will replace with a premier heater very soon. Requesting Lowe’s replace or will take to Small Claims Court along with reviews pointed here. By the way, they want $450 to install the items on my water line - almost half the price I paid for the heater.

Fits where the old Roper used to be and handles a full load of dishes with room to spare except Thanksgiving, which takes two loads. Smooth black front with touch buttons and blue lights. Looks nice. I purchased the original Whirlpool refrigerator in August of 2013. That was replaced in October of 2013 due to a factory defect that left the ice maker unusable. In April of 2014, we now have a factory defect that has resulted in the entire unit unable to keep the fridge below 70 degrees F. It has been 2 weeks since the fridge died and Whirlpool has informed me it will be another 2 weeks until a replacement fridge will be delivered. I have spoken with countless customer service reps and 2 customer service managers, as well as 1 executive from the executive office in Michigan. Several times Whirlpool has dropped the ball in this process. The original repair appointments were booked and had to be rebooked because the repair company could not accommodate the appointment times Whirlpool booked. It took over a week to get the fridge declared dead. Then another week just to process the request through tech support... After speaking with 2 customer service managers and being told it was being rushed, I spoke with an executive who said the claim had never been submitted and it would take another 24 to 48 hours to process. I spoke with the executive after the 48 hours and he said the fridge will be delivered in 2 weeks! 4 weeks without refrigeration for a second factory defect. I have explained that I have a newborn (6 weeks old when this started) and a 2 year old, and we have had up to 9 people staying in the house (to visit with the baby) over this period and that I need a fridge to keep my breast milk cold. I was told I would receive a $75 gift card and a $125 check to help with food and costs associated with the loss of our fridge... Neither have arrived. We are spending quite a bit on ice just to be able to keep food and milk cold to temp. so we dont have to spend money on eating out (too expensive for us). I am shocked by Whirlpool’s poor customer service. The first time the fridge was replaced I dealt with one person and didnt have to call the customer service line every day. I wish I had her number still.

I purchased a 50 Gal. Whirlpool gas water heater on Saturday, 12/31 to replace a 20-yr old unit that had failed. The unit was installed that day and it started right up but I noticed the burner had gone out about an hour later and the status light indicated FV Sensor Lockout. I tried calling Whirlpool but their customer service was closed. I tried troubleshooting myself using manuals and Internet forums without success. Everything I could find indicated that an FV Sensor failure could not be repaired and would require replacement parts. I called Lowes and was told they could not help me and I would need to talk to Whirlpool.I called Whirlpool again Sunday, 1/1, but they were closed again for the Holiday. I called two plumbers and both told me that the Whirlpool units were problematic and that if they did come out, there would be little they could do except charge me a lot of money and recommend parts to order as Whirlpool does not let them stock parts. Both plumbers also suggested that I consider buying another brand. So I went to Home Depot and purchased another brand with similar specs. I installed it that day and it fired up right away and has been running fine ever since.I talked to Whirlpool on Monday, 1/2, and they told me they would not issue an RMA for a unit that they considered usable. They also told me there was an FV Sensor reset procedure that they would have walked me through had I been able to talk to them that would have bypassed the sensor until a replacement could be installed. I told them that if they would publish this procedure in their manuals or on the Internet, I would have certainly done that. Im now fighting with both Whirlpool and Lowes to get a resolution to this problem. Im not sure about other Whirlpool products but their Water heaters seem to be very problematic.

Amongst all other items listed in these reviews (especially the tangling and twisting of clothes literally into knots), my guess is that is one way to ensure they are drier when they come out, wring them into knots... So now the pizza is slinging grease/oil all over the floor and water is leaking out from the bottom as well to make a perfect conglomeration of ** all over my tile. There is always more than one way to take care of the employees, hire sales people full of **, and technicians who know what the hell to do to fix it, with previous full of ** sales experience so consumers can buy more Whirlpool parts...

I had to re-arrange my kitchen and have my slider doors moved over a foot to accommodate this monstrosity. After about 2 years the icemaker and water dispenser died - had to shove a facecloth in it to keep it from making noise. The white color is very hard to keep clean. Overall, I would not recommend a Whirlpool brand refrigerator.

My new washer is very inefficient. Clothes do not come clean and come out very wet. The cold water only rinse is not an environmental feature... clothes come out so wrinkled that instead of hanging them to dry as I used to (after shaking out the few wrinkles from a warm water rinse in the old washer) I now have use the dryer. This makes no sense to me... I wish I had spent half of the price of this new washer and had the old one repaired... at least then my clothes would come out clean.

I had a Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01. Purchase 3/13/2010. I had repairman after repairman come to fix it. The last one probably saved my family and my house. The light in the back corner was not only blinking, but flashing rapidly, much like some wild party light. It eventually stopped. The freezer works perfectly fine, the fridge works when it wants to. The ice maker makes ice some days but not others. The motor on the ice dispenser is completely frozen up. Does that all sound about right? If it does, clean it out and cut the power to it before someone gets electrocuted or your house catches fire.If you cant find the electrical diagram, or the company wants $455 to answer your questions, look under the right side of the freezer draw, but not on the draw. Remove the guard on the very bottom of the unit, near the wheels on the right side. You will feel a plastic bag attached to the underside. Inside that bag is the complete diagram of all the wiring harnesses along with the schematic for the amps and voltages for each wire. Are they telling your circuit board is bad and you will need a new one? Before you do that, inside the fridge compartment, in between the water filter and the ice maker, remove the light cover. Notice that inside that space is the access to another panel. Remove that panel. BE SURE THERE IS NO POWER RUNNING TO THE UNIT FIRST. Here you will find a connection plug with more or less 15 wires that are connected to the main wiring harness. Above that plug you will find a holding chamber. This holding chamber contains water from the filter that is waiting to go to the ice maker. It has dripped condensation on the plug since the day you first turned on your fridge. Your wires are most likely broken and corroded. You will need to have your unit completely rewired, but because of the design flaw that fix will only buy you another 4-5 years. My Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01 left yesterday 5/15/2014 and none too soon.

We bought this fridge about 5 years ago, it was the exact same model as one we bought in 2003 but everything had changed, the plastic for the drawers was a fraction of the thickness in the older model and it breaks and cracks with the slightest bump like setting the lettuce in, the frame of the door is full of cracks and the fridge keeps leaking then freezing and making puddles on the floor. The little plastic tabs for the ice dispenser broke. It is absolute garbage. The one we bought in 2003 was great clearly the company has NO integrity or desire to make a decent product. I wont be buying anything Whirlpool EVER again.

In October 2009, we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio topload washing machine for almost $900, because my wifes sister had a 1-year-old one and had been pleased. The Cabrio replaced a 3 1/2-year-old Maytag that died with a seized-up transmission. Maytag is also a Whirlpool product for those of you who do not know. We had issues at first with it going off balance but dealt with it. It was also taking 40+ minutes to do even a small load of laundry, but again, we dealt with it. Fast forward about 3 years, and we notice the machine is making really loud sounds during the spin cycle. I checked for any obvious issues but found none. The noise kept getting louder with each use. Finally, I called a repairman to check it out. His diagnosis was quick. The bearings were going bad in the machine, and he said it would eventually fail. He quoted me a price of between $400-$500 to repair because the job is very labor-intensive. I declined the repair but still had to pay him a trip charge. Then I checked with my wifes sister about hers, and she said hers had been making a very loud sound for several months but they were just ignoring it. I told her about the diagnosis of mine and advised her to tilt the machine back to look under it. Sure enough, there were oil stains under her machine, just like mine, indicating the bearings were failing. So we have 2 Cabrio machines, one 3 years old and the other 4 years old with the exact same problem. I called Whirlpool since I had registered the machine when I purchased it. They basically told me to go fly a kite since I had not purchased the extended warranty. They said I could attempt to repair it myself to save money, but they advised to have their repairman do the work. Well, no kidding. What a joke. They expect you to buy a $900 machine and have to replace it every 3 years. I am done with Whirlpool products. FYI, Kenmore products are also made by Whirlpool, so Sears is not an option. My wifes sister and we bought new GE washing machines, and both of us purchased the extended warranty this time. For $129 (5 years), its cheap, peace of mind. Whirlpool is crap. I would suggest never buying any of their products. I know we never will. Once they have your money, they dont care.

Purchased a Whirlpool microwave for new home in December 2013. Model WHM31017AW-1. This is the second time the heater element has to be replaced. Im starting to learn the warning signals: open door and then a short time later the microwave would die a sudden death. In my 20s I purchased for my house in Boca Raton Fl all Whirlpool products... they worked forever. Now not so much. In order to get this one fixed again, I had to get a service contract for $300 which would be cheaper than getting it fixed again, heating element $400 and service call another $100. Serious $300 service contract money too much for a senior citizen. Never will I buy another Whirlpool product as a result.

We purchased a Whirlpool gas range on 12/3/11. It was to be delivered later that month and days before delivery we received a call the stove was damaged. They asked if we wanted it and could get it at a reduced price. We said no, we wanted a new one and that one was delivered on 1/4/12. This stove has had many service calls to fix the ignite for the oven. The ignite and a circuit board for this problem has been replaced many times. The smell of gas in the house is terrible from the many times you try to light the oven. This problem has happened many times when a family event was going to be done (Thanksgiving, making Christmas cookies). It is also very poor advertisement for the company and stove to have this happen when there are so many people around. They will have a tendency to spread the word by mouth. PS: When we called (12-13-13), the woman stated after 4 calls for the same thing there should be a replacement or a refund of money (All the calls have been for the same thing OVEN IGNITE and GAS SMELL).

DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. Mine is less than 2 years old. First one month after warranty expired, the clear lid cracked...$350 to replace! Then a few days ago a rusted circuit board came apart and jammed up my washer. This should NEVER happen. I contacted customer service and they told me that they are not covering this problem and that the service call is $175 and cannot estimate the repair cost. They also could not send a repair person out for 5 days. The washer has not been repaired yet so I do not know the entire cost but it will be expensive!

On 9/28/16 I purchased 4 new Whirlpool appliances from Orvilles Appliances in Buffalo NY. They were delivered on 11/9/16, the refrigerator was installed. The microwave, dishwasher, and range were not installed until Jan. as my kitchen was being remodeled. Both doors were dented; it took 3 months for Whirlpool to send new doors. After installation water began pouring all over, gallons of it; it took a month to get fixed. The microwave door has a large defect and the surface light does not work; it is still not fixed. Six months later it is still it fixed. I feel like I paid a lot of money for defective appliances. Whirlpool is truly a company that does not stand behind their products; they could care less about their customers. I will never ever do business with Whirlpool again. And Orvilles also refused to help; it was a mistake to shop there.

We bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer in January of 2012. We were setting ourselves up for retirement in a couple of years. Worst mistake ever! It cant get clothes clean especially dark colors. I wash my blacks at least twice, sometimes as often as 4 times just to get the detergent streaks out- simply rinsing a second time doesnt do the job. I guess I should be grateful that we have not needed to call a repairman. This is so disappointing as our last Whirlpool washer and dryer were over 25 years old???

We have owned our side-by-side model # ED5HVEXVB02 for just over six years now. The first thing that went bad was the ice machine (just days out of warranty). Over the next 4 years weve had to replace 2 of the drawers; they break really easily. Here we are just 6 years out and we are on our 3rd icemaker. This refrigerator is a lemon. I sincerely believe they designed an inferior product so that they could get you hooked. We probably would have been better off after the first issue if we had sold this lemon instead of spending all of this money and future money that it will take to keep this product going.

Our Whirlpool refrigerator breaks down after two weeks of purchase. I purchased a Whirlpool fridge for my son and his wife as a house and new baby gift. Just two weeks later, the fridge was not cooling and seemed to not be working. The technician was called, and he confirmed that the fridge was not working. We called the shop where the fridge was purchased from and advised they would not refund or replace the fridge. We are now forced to wait for a replacement part that could take up to 2 months to arrive. And there is no guarantee this problem will not reoccur with a new part, as per the technician. I called Whirlpool and lodged a complaint, but that went on deaf and ignorant ears. I am told to call the service repairer. I am sure there is a law to protect Australian consumers.I paid nearly $1,000 for a fridge that is useless! I would like Whirlpool to contact me, and tell me why they shouldnt be accountable for their product. I would like to return the faulty fridge, accept a refund and buy another fridge. My family are living out of an Esky, and this is a ridiculous way to refrigerate food stuff for adults and children in the heat of northern Australia. Whirlpool, I am waiting for your call.

Bought the Cabrio washer in March 2011. Have had the same problems as everyone else. The machine is constantly off-kilter, does not wash well due to lack of water. Sounds like a freight train when spinning. Bulky clothes dont drain properly and have to be rinsed and drained a second time. After one year of ownership, the entire control panel had to be replaced. The next year, the same control panel had to be replaced again plus a water valve had to be replaced. Thank God I bought the extended warranty. The repairs would have cost me $1000, more than I paid for the washer in 2011. Total piece of junk. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8500DC0 - 2 months out of warranty, 14 months old. Motherboard fried. $300 if I do it myself. $550 to have it done. The unit was $780 on sale. Brand new piece of junk. Zero stars but thats not an option. Quite honestly, it doesnt clean very well and it doesnt rinse very well so we have to rinse twice to get the smell out if we use bleach. So whats the sense in buying a high efficiency washer? I work outdoors and weve had cheap washers in the past that clean much better and lasted many years.

19 gallon Electric Whirlpool water heater Model #e1f20us015v - Purchased this water heater from Lowes to provide hot water to small apartment with no kitchen for my son, built in my garage. Had unit professionally installed within 1 foot of bath to provide hot water for shower and sink in bath only. Hot water lasts only 5 to 6 minutes and takes approx. 2 hours to recover. My son cannot even take a normal shower! ntacted Lowes who was unable to help and told me to contact Whirlpool. Contacted Whirlpool after my model number would not even come up on their website. I asked tech what was the normal expected amount of time before hot water depleted. She did not know. I asked what was the normal recovery rate. She did not know. I asked for information on the energy rating. She said there was no information available. I asked how I could receive a refund. She said that they could only send a plumber to check unit and that nothing would be done if it was heating water. I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said none were available and said one would call me. I never received a return call. VERY DISSATISFIED with Whirlpool on this issue. It appears my only recourse is to purchase a new water heater and scrap the present one.

I have a Whirlpool built-in double oven. It is 7 years old. The top oven has overheated 3 times with food in it and it locks the door. The oven beeps and says, Too hot, and locks the door. Luckily I was in the kitchen when it overheated, so I could turn the oven off. After turning the oven off, the oven has to cool off before the door will unlock and the food can be taken out. By then, the food is really burnt.I called Whirlpool to see if there is a recall and they said, No recall, and the oven was out of warranty. So I called the repair shop. They said it was the control board and they were not sure they could get a new control board. I may have to find someone that can rebuild this control board. They said not to use the oven. It could cause a fire. I would think that they should recall these ovens. They should have a safety switch that shuts the oven off if it overheats like mine has done.

Washer does not clean clothes period. Darks come out covered with white soap residue and smell dirty regardless of how little soap is used or with using extra rinse, which takes 84 minutes by the way. Whites only seem slightly cleaner since hot water is used and you cant see the soap residue. If you wash more than 5 or 5 items at a time some do not even get completely wet. Just waiting for it to break down next according to the other reviews. I spent a lot of money to get a nice washer and dryer and ended up with junk. Purchased a gas hot water heater from Lowes in October 2015. Installed the hot water tank and two months later started smelling a faint gas smell coming from around the Honeywell box. Called Whirlpool and they thought it was the gas valve and replaced part, but had to pay $30 for overnight shipping. Had plumber install new part and did not fix the issue. Called plumber back out and he found a small pin hole size leak behind pilot light. Patched the leak and still had a gas smell coming from around the Honeywell box. Called Whirlpool back and after some back and forth was able to get hot water tank replaced, since it was only two months old and should not need any maintenance that soon. Replaced water heater with new tank and this tank has a gas smell coming from around the Honeywell box as well. We replaced all our lines and even had the fire department check out our gas lines. Could not find anything. I am still baffled as to why this tank has a gas smell coming from the Honeywell box. I cant seem to find anyone else having this issue.
