They contacted me to replace the washer. And the uninstall/install will be at my own cost. Its more generous than I expected. I thought they would send another technician and make everything go back and forth. This solution does save my time. I hope the new machine wont have all the series of issues.

Purchased microwave 7/3/2016 & paid for installation on 7/9/16. Product started malfunctioned in December. Technician came out 12/30/16 and as of today we still do NOT have microwave. Whirlpool claims they issued credit for microwave & installation. But somehow between safety department & vendor relations with hhgregg they want us to pay AGAIN for installation & haul away on a defective microwave. Hhgregg vendor relations & Whirlpool pointing fingers at each other, we are still without a paid in full microwave. No one cares, and we have been treated poorly by both Whirlpool & hhgregg. Its 3 months without a microwave and Whirlpool doesnt seem to care one bit. Worst customer service Ive ever received.

I absolutely hate this washing machine. When I bought it a couple of years ago I thought it would be great for large items... NOT! It leaves white residue on dark colors but the MOST important issue is going off balance. The lid stays locked and you have to start the cycle from the beginning... What a waste!!! Never again will I get a Whirlpool.

Every washer Ive ever had has just a spin. Why dont these new washers? If the washer is un-level why would you add more water? They need a spin cycle to drain the water out of it. No more rinse and spin just a spin. Very aggravated.

Does not get clothes clean. Period!! Takes just over 1hr. Noisy, lasted 3 1/2 years, transmission broke, take the warranty with a washer/dryer. Whirlpool was the top of the line, front loaders give less trouble, agitators clean better, go for the cheaper versions, our loaner Whirlpool, WTW4850H or WTW4950H washes quicker and cleaner than the Cabrio Energy Star.

When I moved into my current home, this dishwasher(Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1) was already installed. It had never been used until I moved in. After two years of 2-3 times a week use, I have major problems. It will not complete a wash cycle, regardless of what settings I use. It runs long enough for the soap dispenser to release the Finish tablets which dissolve, but then the dishwasher stops running. The dishes are not clean, and neither is the interior of the dishwasher. It also appears to be leaking when it runs. I cannot afford to replace it, so either I will repair it myself or use it to store pots and pans. This is not my first disappointment with a Whirlpool product. A Kenmore refrigerator made by Whirlpool lasted 7 years before the compressor failed. Apparently, the self-cleaning coils werent and caused the compressor to fail. The refrigerator I have where I now live is a Whirlpool over 20 years old and runs perfectly. Apparently Whirlpool quality has deteriorated badly in the last two decades. I will never buy another Whirlpool kitchen appliance because of the dishwasher and new refrigerator experiences. When I searched the Internet for fixes for both appliances, I found many other owners having the same problems I have had.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer in 2011. It has been nothing but trouble since. I have had repair people out here several times, because the machine twists and tangles the clothes, doesnt get the clothes clean. Sometimes the clothes come out dry without even getting them wet. There are lots of soap scum too. I would NEVER buy another one of these. SO DISAPPOINTED.

French Door model WRF989SEAE01 - Fridge runs very loud after 3 weeks. Ice build up inside of fridge - back left. After numerous repairs, dealer replaced unit with new. Three weeks, loud noise again. After 7 months, the ice maker has quit, the freezer is thawing items, the fridge part is not cold enough (all settings have been boosted). Now Im concerned it is going to completely fail or burn our new house down. All new Whirlpool appliances in new home and this thing is proving to be extremely unreliable. Dealer is now out of loop (gave up) and told us to deal directly with Whirlpool. After 2 units and same issues, it has to be a design flaw. Can anyone start to move on a class action lawsuit or do I wait until it blows up or burns down the house? We are of retirement age, no kids, and our appliances have had NO ABUSE. Another acquaintance has same fridge about 2 years old and it has completely quit.

My husband AND I purchased our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer from Lowes
My husband AND I purchased our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer from Lowes in 2011 (Model # WTW7800XW2). About 10 months after I purchased this I noticed a hairline crack on the right side of the frame that holds the glass top near the hinge. I didnt think to much of this. I figured it may have been screwed to tight when manufactured. A few days ago I noticed the lid wasnt sitting flat and saw the crack had gotten much worse. The Cabrio lid is made with a heavy piece of glass inside a plastic frame allowing you to see through the top. Its pretty obvious that the plastic frame is not durable enough to hold the heavy piece of glass.I called Lowes and they told me that because I didnt purchase their extended warranty that I should contact Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool and was told it was a cosmetic defect because the washer still works. They also told me my washer is outside of its warranty so they would schedule someone to fix it but I was 100% responsible for the repair costs (which I found out will be $400). Out of curiosity I googled this issue online and found numerous people complaining about this exact same issue. When I told this to the customer service agent at Whirlpool, she said there werent enough people to recall the product. Why should I spend $400 when it was a design flaw that caused this problem? I found out the year after my washer was made, the lid was redesigned with a much sturdier frame, Coincidence? I think not!I havent had any problems thus far with the dryer but with the experience Ive had with this washer will make me never by another Whirlpool product again. I cant believe they wont stand by their product! Obviously they know this has been a major complaint on this model from 2011 because it was changed the following year. I have purchased many Whirlpool appliances over the years but dealing with this issues has been frustrating. Im so disappointed in Whirlpool and their lack of integrity!

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 washer based off the salesmans recommendation (not very happy about this). After the warranty ran out, every time in the spin cycle, it makes a sound similar to a piece of metal banging around inside the cylinder during the cycle. Our friends have told us they had a similar experience and for their machine, they found out the bearings were going out. Weve had this machine a total of 3 years. I doubt we ever buy another item from HH Gregg plus will do our investigation on Consumer Buyers digest before we toss any more money out for a washing machine.

Started researching online about a week ago because my dryer was making an awful noise. Found out that the new idler pulley system the company used in my Whirlpool cabrio washer & dryer model (WED5500XW0) was so ineffective that they have since started replacing it with the old part #691366 they used to use. Also I am having a problem with my washer not spinning all of the water out of the clothes. Found out that this is a common problem with this model (WTW5500XW0).Had a certified repairman out to replace the dryer idler pulley system. He also calibrated the washer to see if that may help (it did not). The repairman said that some of the Whirlpool washers had been recalled and he had actually replaced some control panels and that seemed to work. He suggested that I contact Whirlpool. So I contacted Whirlpool, thinking that they obviously knew that there have been many problems with these machines (idler pulley part being discontinued & and recall on SOME models), and thought they would be more than willing to rectify this problem. Well think again! The two young ladies that I spoke with sounded like robots, Unfortunately, you are not within your 1 year manufacturers warranty so there would be nothing we could do at this time. Although I must tell you, the second young lady I spoke with did offer to sell me a new washer at a deep discounted price of $386 (which is only $86 more than fixing the washer). I think everyone who has a problem should contact Whirlpool and express this dissatisfaction. And if you are shopping for a washer and dryer, stay away from Whirlpool because their customer service is disheartening.

If you are in the market for a new refrigerator, STAY AWAY from Whirlpool Top Freezer models. Mine just failed after only 5 years and Whirlpool will NOT do a thing about it, except ask, Did you buy the extended warranty? The compressor in my refrig was made in Mexico by a company called Embraco. I used to work for Whirlpool and these compressors were garbage then, and I guess still are, in my opinion. The 5 year sealed system warranty was removed from these refrig years ago and I can only assume this is why. If you want the 5 year SS warranty, buy a side by side or French door model. Just be sure it doesnt have an Embraco compressor on it! And while I am not a believer in them, planned obsolescence dictates you probably should buy the extended warranty/service plan for such a purchase. Dont rely on positive past experience, even for a company like Whirlpool. Their gold ring of promise emblem is very tarnished for me now.

Re: wdf7payw6. I purchased this unit last February. It has never washed properly. In the last month 2 separate warranty service reps have been out. The first one told me that I have not been doing a good enough job of prewashing the dishes so the arms were clogged. While cleaning them, he broke the top arm. When he came back to replace the top arm, he added that the dishes were not drying because I didnt use enough jet dry so I would have to dry by hand, and that the arms were clogging because I didnt prewash well enough. I told him to leave and never come back. I called customer service and they sent out a new company. The rep today told me that even on time delay or overnight settings I must run the hot water prior to starting the unit. And that since the water wasnt hot enough; the undissolved detergent was clogging the spray arms. This was confirmed by your phone support person who told me that for best results thats what I had to do. The result I want is for the thing to wash dishes. It doesnt do that. The current rep ordered a heater, motor pump and spray arms. My previous dishwasher operated perfectly (until the pump failed) for the 18 years I have lived in this house plus however long it was here before I moved in. I will never buy a Whirlpool product or anything built by subsidiaries or parent AGAIN.

This Whirlpool dishwasher is the worst dishwasher I have had in 45 years of using dishwashers. I have bought dishwashers, but now rent and so am stuck with this one. Initially, I complained to the landlord about the dishwasher not getting the dishes clean, so the repairman came and recommend replacement. Unfortunately, it was replaced with the same brand. The new one didnt wash any better than the old one so I pre-rinsed everything and the dishes still come out with sprayed dried food on them. The spray holes in the arms fill with food no matter how thoroughly I rinse the dishes. The silverware in the door rarely is clean. The filter is always coated with food particles. The top shelf is always worse than the bottom shelf. I have used inexpensive GEs before and nothing compares to the poor quality of the whirlpool.

Will never buy another Whirlpool/GE product again. Nothing but problems. Paid $1700 for a Whirlpool/goldstar refrigerator 2 years ago. Problems from the start with slide-out shelf cracking, evaporator fan burnt out within 2 years, digital display cannot read anymore. Now have another problem again - not cooling. Going to the trash. No wonder your stock price have dropped. I would sell off to. Whirlpool/GE have been going down hill for the last 5 years. Maybe more. Cheap products, do reflect, it just a matter of time, I would think you would address these issues in your product line, but it shows your company is all about profits instead of quality of products. I have had my fridge (model WRX735SDHZ02) for 6 months now and it has never worked properly. All our food was getting frozen so we bought a thermometer to check the temperature inside the fridge and it was showing around 22F. The technician came 4 times and finally said that the fridge couldnt be fixed. He asked me to call Whirlpool since there was nothing else he could do. Every time I have called Whirlpool (6 times already) the wait times have been between 52 minutes to almost 1.5 hours. When I called customer service to tell them the technician said the fridge cant be fixed, Whirlpool said that I had to contact the technician again and schedule another visit. Whirlpool said the technician had to call them from MY home and tell them the fridge cant be fixed. I asked why couldnt the technician just call them now to let them know and why did I have to schedule another visit for that? Whirlpool said it was protocol. Makes absolutely no sense. In a nutshell, its been 6 months and my fridge is still not fixed and Whirlpool is not being helpful. If I could go back I would not buy Whirlpool.

I bake a lot so my husband bought me a new gas range for our 54th anniversary. After the first few times I used the oven, I decided to clean it. I noticed then that there were some burnt grease spots and streaks between the oven glass door. After 2 years of use, it has gotten much worse so I decided to take the door apart to try to clean the glass in between the layers of glass but there are three instead of two. I cleaned the inside of the outer glass, but that didnt take care of the problem. Most of the stains are between the other two panes of glass. That, I cant get to. I feel that this is poor design and not sealed properly. I take good care of everything I own and I expected this range to last me the rest of my life but it is put together with cheap plastic parts that wont last long. It is the first new range that I ever owned and paid a lot more for it than any Ive had. I expected better.

I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freez
I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer from my local Badcocks. About two months after the purchase it started making this weird loud sound. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent a local appliance company technician out to check it. The technician ripped my brand new Linoleum floor when pulling out the freezer. The result was, in his opinion, nothing was wrong with it, that the loud sound was normal. As it continued, another tech came out and his opinion was it needed a new compressor. So, it was replaced and lasted about a month. I was getting something out for dinner and noticed everything in my freezer was unthawed... all that money wasted a freezer full of food gone. So, Whirlpool once again sent the same appliance company out but a different technician. This one said it that he needed to order parts which he did, a different tech came out to install the parts and told us he didnt know what they were for and our freezer didnt need the parts the previous tech ordered. So this tech put dye in the lines and left. The dye leaked out from under my freezer all over the floor which is now stained because of the dye that leaked. This is the brand new floor they had already ripped during the first service call. So, now not only is my floor ripped but stained as well.Once again, about a month later, I find my freezer full of meat unthawed a third time. Once again I called and find out they have dropped the contract with the company that came out the first two times. So they refer me to another local appliance repair, and this new tech says that it needs a new compressor. This will be the second new one in less than 6 months. They order that part and repair the freezer; this fix lasted for about three months this time. On my fourth call to Whirlpool, I expressed my frustration with losing my food and the hassle of an inferior product purchased brand new under warranty. I definitely was not satisfied with the service and the customer service representative could not find my warranty record. He was also very rude and when he finally found my record, he told me I was no longer under Whirlpool warranty. This was wrong as I have my paperwork showing date of purchase AND the four-year extended warranty we purchased as well. I asked him what they would do for me since their inferior appliance and incompetent repair technicians cost me hundreds of dollars of ruined meat and other frozen food. He said they would do nothing except have another repair tech come out. Until the freezer is determined to be unrepairable that is all they can do.So I scheduled the tech to come out the fourth time and he found that some untrained tech had put oil in the line and the lines and compressor has to be replaced and flushed. I have already not had a freezer for a week waiting for tech to come out and now the parts are put on back order for another three weeks. The fourth repair tech called Whirlpool from my home, while I was standing there, and told them that it basically is beyond repair because of the price of parts and labor. He told Whirlpool it would be cheaper to replace the freezer but Whirlpool told the tech to replace the lines and compressor and flush everything out. So three weeks later, he comes back out on 10/13/2013 to make the repairs. I bought this freezer in December 2012 for $1200 and have been dealing with issues on and off since Feb. 2013 and now its 11/29/13 and once again my freezer has stopped working. I have lost all my food because Whirlpool sold me a defective appliance and would not make it right. I have asked them to replace it and they wouldnt. My husband and I have just purchased our second house and we were very excited about the remodel coming up in the kitchen. We were going to purchase stainless steel Whirlpool appliances, but after this company has treated me so badly, I will not buy anything with the Whirlpool name for our stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. We probably would have spent about $3500 on appliances, but we will purchase a different brand and give our $3500 to a company that will treat me better as a customer .I used to have trust in this company because it is well known for quality products, but I dont trust them anymore. I will advise any of my loved ones and friends not to purchase any Whirlpool appliance because of the inferior quality and lack of interest in making this situation right. I tried for almost a year and gave them 5 opportunities to do the right thing and now Im done. They dont care about the customer and that is a shame because they have lost a valued customer. As of now I have another tech coming Tuesday b/c my freezer is sitting not running again. Model #EV201NZTQ02.

Whirlpool Duet Sports washer purchased 11-08 was found defective by service technician due to improperly secured bolts on counterweight at factory. I contacted Whirlpool service and was informed that warranty will not cover any parts or labor. I ordered parts for repair. It will take at least 2 weeks until arrival and repair of item. The cost of $260 to repair item for a possible life cycle of only 90 more days seems ridiculous.

We ordered the Whirlpool 6.4 CuFt Electric Slide-in Range WEE745HOFS from Costco on 1/3/2017. It was delivered 2 weeks later. The FIRST time we turned on the oven the top heating element caught fire during the preheat and damaged the interior of the oven! Whirlpool sent out a repairman who replaced the element and PAINTED the damage on the top of the interior. For weeks, every time we turned on the oven, the house filled with smokey paint fumes. I have a chronic lung disease (sarcoidosis) so the paint fumes were a serious problem. We stopped using the oven. Weve hardly used the oven since that time because we have a nice, large countertop oven. I turned on the Whirlpool oven again in January of 2018. The top element burned out AGAIN after less than a dozen uses! I was 2-3 days past the purchase date and again Costco tried to advocate for us but Whirlpool refused to help in any way.My next door neighbor purchased this exact oven two months before we did and she has had the SAME problems (and worse!) with NO help from Whirlpool! I have HATED this oven even though we mostly use the cooktop. A $1300 oven should NOT burn up an element in less than a dozen uses! The cooktop is very difficult to clean, scratches and stains easily. The trim and panel also scratch very easily. Yes, I did purchase the Whirlpool cleaning kit and follow all directions carefully. My next door neighbor says dont bother trying the Whirlpool Aqualift cleaning feature because it DOESNT WORK! She hates this oven too. By the way, ALL of my appliances are new Whirlpool appliances! So far the dishwasher is doing ok but the microwave is 4 months old and the door is not closing completely, so it has to be adjusted often or it clicks rather than cooking. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN WHIRLPOOL!

I purchased a new Whirlpool stove in Feb 2020. First off the oven was not calibrated right and Whirlpool wanted us to do all these tests to see what the problem was. Finally, after purchasing an oven thermometer I finally got my ducks in a row and called them back to which they finally sent out a repairman. Now after almost finishing supper last night the whole cooktop stopped working. It is going to take a week to get someone out to fix it. Also, we have to purchase an extended warranty for our Whirlpool refrigerator every year because it always needs something fixed. Our Whirlpool washer has been on the blink for quite some time (no warranty) and cant afford to get it fixed. When talking to someone at Whirlpool it appears they have no compassion. I guess it is because they are just paid employees. My recommendation is to look into other products before purchasing. Do your homework.

Two years ago, I bought two Whirlpool Water Heaters. Like the others who have posted, after one year the first one went out. Last night the second one went out. I just wish that I had read the prior reviews before I bought these replacement water heaters. I also had to navigate a very unfriendly customer experience, first with Whirlpool and then the manufacturer. After that I had to wait a week to get a repair person out only to have to order the part and then be asked to pay for it and the express shipping. Totally amazing! I have decided to buy new water heaters next quarter because I just cannot put up with either the aggravation or the expense of constant repairs. I will returning these two water heaters to Lowes, where they were purchased. Perhaps if enough of us return them, Lowes will decide its not worth damaging their brand to sell a known inferior product. When this many people complain about a product and they all have the same experience its a lack of quality, plain and simple. And I would think that Lowes would not want to go on supporting a known inferior product when even Whirlpool is lukewarm in their response to our complaints.

In the last two years, the inner glass door of the oven has exploded. The last time was Tuesday, 14th January. The oven door was ajar because we had just finished cooking dinner. The noise was deafening but the worst thing about it was the large pieces of glass thrown all over the kitchen. Most of which were large enough and sharp enough to kill a child and seriously wound an adult. I phoned Whirlpool to report this. The operative I spoke to was very polite but told me these things happen and I could have banged it a while ago and left a weak spot! She also said a Supervisor or similar person would telephone me that day. It is now Saturday 18th January and NO phone call. MY concern is there is no mention of this being a possible problem in their literature and their obvious lack of concern under a Health and Safety situation. Not to mention the cost of replacement door glass.

The Airlift self clean has never worked. When the repairman contacted the technicians at Whirlpool, they told him that there was nothing they could do. In other words, I am stuck with an oven that will not self clean. The water in the bottom does not even come to a boil.

Bought the Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW7300DW) and dryer (WED7300DW1) about 8 months ago. The washer always leaves white debris on the dark clothes - looks like detergent. Except I use blue liquid detergent. It seems like the inside, bottom of the drum is deteriorating and sticking to the clothes, since there is nothing that is white in the washer. I have run it through the clean cycle several times with the recommended washer cleaning product (the brand that came as a sample with the washer). That did not help. Also, we have a dog, our old washer used to rinse out a lot of dog hair from the bottom of our socks, etc. My filter for my drain hose would always have dog hair in it. With this washer, there is no dog hair being rinsed out at all. Lint and dog hair is all through the clothes after the cycle is over. Makes me wonder where the dirt is going, then. The clothes are so twisted after washing. Anything with long sleeves get tied up around other clothes. This seems very rough to wash clothes this way. Also, if you dont use the deep water setting, its likely not to get parts of the clothes even wet. I had a gray hooded sweatshirt go through a whole wash cycle and there were spots all over it that never even got wet at all. The dryer power button is very temperamental. Sometimes I have to hit it 6 - 7 times, at different angles, until I hit it just right to get it to turn on. Other times it just turns right on. There are just 2 of us so I only do 10 - 12 loads of clothes a month. After reading all the awful reviews, I fear that these problems, which are becoming evident now, will only get worse. Yet I only have 4 more months until the warranty runs out.

Even with the hottest water on the most heavy duty setting, regular dinner
Even with the hottest water on the most heavy duty setting, regular dinner plates are not cleaned. The flatware holders that are set in the door (instead of free-standing in a rack) do not have adequate holes in the holders and are too far away from the limited jets to get adequate soap and water to cleanse the flatware. Even after rinsing all scraps off the plates and flatware, we find bits of food, gravy, or smudges on the plates and flatware - since its first usage. The manufacturer had the audacity to claim that was normal. Settings include delayed starting, heavy duty versus normal washing, and different types of drying. The heavy duty washing is definitely poor quality, and there seems to be no difference between any of the drying settings. The delayed start is nice. The physical layout of the prongs on the racks and the folding racks do not allow easy fit for most sizes of pots plus plates on the same bottom rack. I cannot put a 1 gallon pot level on the same rack as dinner plates. I must put it beside salad plates. Only small sauce pans fit neatly or cleanly beside dinner plates. Yet the external dimensions of this dishwasher are the same as the competitors standard size. Looks neat and is easy to clean. Also, the exterior does not show scratches. Actually, I cannot see where the exterior has any scratches. The service people were very little help. The Warranty said that after five (5) service calls the unit would be replaced. We made six (6) service calls, but we were told that we did NOT have six because if you called again within 90 days of a call, that was considered the same service call. That requires 450 days minimum to have five (5) qualified service calls, but that warranty was good for only 365 days!

I installed this Whirlpool Gold Series oven in December just before Christmas. I cooked a 9lbs Turkey for over 4hrs at 350 degrees (it should have only taken 21/2 hrs at 325) used a thermometer to test the temp. Well the breast part was fine but later in the evening I removed the entire turkey only to find that the legs, thighs and bottom of the turkey was still RAW. Lucky no one had asked for that part of the turkey. Next I tried a small prime rib roast. Same thing happened. The top of the roast was fine and the bottom was RAW. I dont dare cook anything in the oven now. Called whirlpool and they are going to send someone to look at it but I wont hold my breath for any results. After reading the same complaint on several reviews and the TV show Marketplace it seems to be pretty standard for this product.

Bought a home with a Whirlpool WRF540CWBM01 french door refrigerator circa Oct 2016. The unit stopped freezing/cooling and the appliance guy replaced a relay and this did not help. I called Whirlpool to check on the warranty, only 1 year. Then, I called the extended warranty and they wanted $342 for 1 year and $567 for 3 year but wanted 60 days before this would go into effect. Hmm, wait 2 months w/out a working fridge, great idea. So, after 2 short years the compressor failed and nobody will attempt this job and cost is too high. Had to buy a new GE fridge w/ a 5-year parts/labor covering this type of issue. Whirlpool needs to fix these issues. Very disappointed.

I bought a portable Whirlpool dishwasher on Jan.16 2016. We didnt buy extended warranty. After all, it was suppose to be new, should outlive us. It wont drain, my husband took the top off to see if he could fix it since I was told by Sears that no repair person is available in our area. I am only 10 Km from Saint John N.B. He found he couldnt take the front or back off, its all one piece, he is 84 years old. Under the top, it shows different colored screws, which tells us it was a used one or had been re-conditioned. I am very disappointed in Sears, have been a customer for many years. Everything in my house is Kenmore except for the dishwasher, only because they had no Kenmore. I might add that it wasnt used much. Its just two elderly people and only used when we have company. I cant afford another one. I bought this one from 1,000.00 I won on Lotto Max. I am so upset about this. Appliances should last longer. My Kenmores have.

Our 4 year old Cabrio top loading washer failed. Apparently there is an engineering design issue with the pump and tub assembly causing the machine to not complete its spin cycle. These items will typically fail between two to four years of operation. We paid $1,000 for what we thought was a high end machine from Whirlpool. After having a local repair company diagnose the issue, we were told by Whirlpool we must use their authorized service companies. The replacement cost for each item is ridiculous especially considering how flimsy the items are. We decided to look at Whirlpool Refrigerators since the one we have is still running. They have changed absolutely nothing in the drawer or door design. It is all still very flimsy especially compared to the competition. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a fridge to look elsewhere, since, obviously, the quality of the interior is not a priority at Whirlpool. Avoid Whirlpool Refrigerators. The drawers and drawer shelves will ALL break since they have put no effort into fixing obvious defects.

I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio set, in 2009. I bought the top loading washer, and matching dryer. Since 2009, I have had the washer serviced FIVE times. Bearings, water pump, F1, F2, ul codes, and a few other things, I honestly cant remember. I love this capacity. But that is all I love about this machine. Today, the water pump went out again. I have been reading online regarding loose coins making their way into the drain pump, the hose, and other parts of the washer. I am diligent about emptying my pockets, but, obviously, someone in the house is not. There should be a trap for the coins, buttons, and any other debris that passes through, but, clearly there is not, and it appears I am not the only one with this problem. I am so frustrated. He blamed it on uneven floor, misaligned cabinets – anything he could say to shift the blame from Whirlpool. We called and complained again. They sent out another service person. He was just as useless as the first one. Told us to even out the doors we would need to shim the refrigerator which he would not do. Complained to Whirlpool with no results. The average life of a refrigerator is 11 years. We purchased a Whirlpool convertible refrigerator (Model EL7JWKLMS02, Serial # EWR1339731) on 6/12/04 from the Lowes here in Visalia, CA. The first delivered was DOA and Lowes delivered another. That should have been a warning sign. We have had several problems with the product, as early as 2006. All repairs went through Sierra Appliance & Franks Appliances. We are now in the market of another refrigerator to replace this one. We have had to have freon added now for the third time. Sierra Appliance was unable to find any leak, but each time, the freon was depleted. In addition to the health hazard of having freon leaking into the house, we have had the distinct displeasure of having to deal with food waste, etc. Because of the ongoing problems with this product, we are now facing the reality of purchasing another refrigerator to replace this Whirlpool product.Due to this, I feel it is difficult to consider another Whirlpool product and will question any product to ensure that it is not Whirlpool-related. If there is anything that Whirlpool or Lowes can do at this point, it would be appreciated. Thank you for reviewing this note of dissatisfaction. It appears that we will be shopping for a new refrigerator this weekend unless we hear from Whirlpool. In any event, I would like this recorded as a complaint from a former customer.

This time when I called to schedule the repair call, the woman at the appliance store where I purchased this told me she also has a Whirpool refrigerator and she cant place any food on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator due to freezing. So this 21 cu ft refrigerator has a lot less usable space than I was led to believe when I purchased it. I would not recommend this product due to this reason. Beware of that channel that comes down the center of the back of the refrigerator. It seems like a design flaw to me.

I purchased this Whirlpool washing machine in July 2009. The repairman just gave us a $1400 estimate for repairs due to failure of bearings. This is an energy efficient, expensive appliance that we expected to last for years and we feel that 2 1/2 years of service is unacceptable. We did not purchase an extended warranty and Whirlpool said they would help with the cost of parts - not labor. We cannot afford to repair a lemon and so purchased an LG front-loading washing machine today. Hopefully we will have a better experience with LG as we will not be purchasing any more Whirlpool appliances ever.

We purchased this model in July of 2019 and have had nothing but problems with it since. The design is really bad - if you set the temperature on the ideal setting, everything on the top shelf freezes solid. If you reduce the setting to the one below ideal, your freezer doesnt get cold enough to keep ice cream hard. The ice cubes are a little more than half the size of our last Whirlpool refrigerator and the unit is noisy. Weve had Whirlpool out to work on it 4 or 5 times in the first 6 months and twice weve had to throw away food due to the unit not cycling on and off properly. One of the technicians told us he spends a lot of time working on this particular model - evidently, it has a lot of issues. We are now using our old garage refrigerator while we try to get Lowes to give us a refund on this piece of junk.

I purchased a WP side by side refrigerator and made sure I purchased an extended warranty. I paid the extended warranties faithfully each year since the initial purchase. In the last few weeks we had to call the phone number on the last WP extended warranty invoice and they sent a repairman. He said the refrigerator was un-repairable. The repairman gave my husband SR#** and a Cust. Service telephone #800-253-1301. I called and they gave me another SR#** and phone #866-931-7390 to call the following Friday. I called the number (Team Resolution Specialists) Friday 6/26/20 and was offered an amount that wouldnt even pay half of a refrigerator like that. They did not even offer to replace the refrigerator. The company where I work (for 20 years) sells Whirlpool appliances. We have purchased thousands and thousands of dollars of WP appliances. I work in Accounts Payable. I print a check for the appliances to pay for them promptly. I am so disappointed in Whirlpool. What has happened to Whirlpools quality of product and quality of service. I am so disappointed.

The machine has an infinite water level setting, an agitator which I feel cleans clothes better, separate settings for water temperature for both wash and rinse cycles, and the ability to soak prior to washing by just leaving the lid up. You can add bleach and fabric softener to dispensers that will add to the tub at the time needed. My machine has been a really good one.

After waiting hours on hold, the service company they sent out, went out of business before the appointment. Now after 3 months of nothing but frustration. I have written many emails and none have been replied back to. Worst customer service ever!! Not not buy Whirlpool or Kitchenaid (same company).

We bought a Whirlpool range. The same day we got it the burner exploded and my electricity went off. I called the customer service to request a replace, they told me a technician had to go and look at it. They did. I had to miss a day of work as they come between 9 to 5 pm (will not tell you what time). The guy say the range is defective (really!??) and will need to request parts. I called them again (after 15 times you wait minimum 30 min each time). They told me they can replace the parts. I said I bought a new appliance not an use one. Money back. Told me somebody will contact me. Week later nobody contact me and still waiting 30 min each time. I called nobody answer my calls. I wonder I may get somebody if I wait hours? No idea. Please do not buy from this guys... They are bad in all the way.

My dishwasher was purchased on 5/12/12. It is a little over 2 years old. The dishwasher wasnt getting the dishes cleaned. I opened it mid-cycle and part of the heating coil was bright red and there was smoke inside of the dishwasher. Good thing I opened it before it ran through its cycle or it may have caught on fire. Unfortunately, I only have a 1 year warranty. This machine is a piece of crap and could have burned our house down. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator model #wrt1litzyv along with the extended warranty from Lowes. The compressor stopped working just before the warranty was to expire and had to be replaced. The cost of repairs almost equaled the price of the refrigerator and took nearly 2 months for the reimbursement check to arrive. I had to call several times. They told me they hadnt received the paperwork even though I sent it registered mail and it was signed for and I had to resend it. Now, less than 4 months later, the refrigerator is again not working properly. Freezer is not freezing properly. Takes 2 days to freeze ice. This is the absolutely worst refrigerator Ive ever had. My last refrigerator lasted 20 years. This one is only 3 years old and of course, the warranty is now expired. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. And I will never buy a major appliance from Lowes either since they play games with the warranties. And after the refrigerator was repaired, Whirlpool tried to sell me another extended warranty. They wanted $308.60 for a 3-year warranty. Ridiculous that they dont stand behind their products. And try to sell more warranties instead of just manufacturing a good product.

I purchased a high-end Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT710PAYM) a few months ago thinking I was making a wise upgrade. Poor design and it wont dry dishes or properly wash utensils when theyre placed in the utensil rack on the door panel. The unit heavily condenses after using heat dry mode and large water droplets completely cover the top of the inside cabinet. Eventually, they all fall down into the dishes and you now have wet dishes again. The Whirlpool tech’s response was to scratch the cabinet plastic with a scratchy pad, smear rinse aid over the plastic cabinet and that should stop droplets from forming. Whirlpool’s customer service told me they shouldve never told me that and what I should do is be there during the drying cycle and open the cabinet door to let the steam out. This is completely ludicrous. Dont walk but run away from Whirlpool products.

Our dishes always come out completely clean and without spotting. I dont like having to get down into the machine and clean out the filter/trap, so I pre-rinse everything that goes into the machine, so that might help. Regardless, this machine does an excellent job. This is the Whirlpool Gold Series bought in 2013. It has numerous settings, such as delay, varying cycles, air dry, heat dry, etc. All the features work as expected, but like most owners probably do, I leave it set on the same settings all the time. It does what I want and does it very quietly. This is a standard, under-counter, full-sized machine. The outside of the dishwasher is stainless and the inside has a plastic lining. The controls are at the top of the front door, so that leaves the front completely clean-looking. Love it.

I had a kitchen fire in 1999. All appliances were replaced with Stainless Steel Whirlpool. My old fridge was an 18 y.o. Whirlpool and still works fine in the garage. My old above range microwave was 12 y.o. and worked fine, I should have kept it. I had to replace my new Whirlpool Microwave after 4 years and 4 repairs. (Main Power Diode kept failing). Now my Whirlpool Gold fridge is not defrosting, even the freezer light switch is frozen. This French door freezer also seems to have less capacity than my old upright freezer. The retailer seemed sympathetic and pathetic. They would not budge on repairs. I told the contractor that did the rehab on my house what happened, he said he would stay away from Whirlpool and that retailer.

Certain brands of dishwashers made by Whirlpool, including Whirlpool, Kitchenaid and Kenmore, are a fire hazard. Most appeared to be made in the mid-00s. My Kenmore Elite, model# 665.16293400, bought in March 2006, started emitting a burning plastic smell. I removed the door panel and found where the control board wires have been overheating and melting the plastic liner inside the door.Further investigation led me to kitchenaidfire.com, which details the models involved and includes hundreds of reports of fires from these models. I also searched saferproducts.gov and also found over 100 reports of fires from these models. The report logs are growing rapidly as it appears most of the control boards start to malfunction about five years in.I called Sears and they said that Whirlpool needs to do a recall. I called Whirlpool and I was told that they do not make Kenmore dishwashers, only some parts. This is completely false. I couldnt believe the representative was told to tell me that besides the part that is failing is stamped Whirlpool. These Whirpool-made dishwashers are a documented fire hazard and need to be recalled. I do not know what it takes, hundreds of fire reports have been logged and they are rapidly growing, but I hope that it doesnt take someone to be killed before they are recalled.

I bought a French door Whirlpool refrigerator. It is very pretty. But you always got to double-check to make sure the freezer door is closed. Almost all my house guests leave it slightly cracked because it does not close conveniently like other refrigerators. Water freezes up all over the freezer. I even had to defrost it completely to get the fans to start working properly.

Well, I read most of the complaints with the failures in the machine. I guess most of them didnt last long enough to rate their performance so here we go. I bought a Cabrio top loader, high-E washer a couple of years ago. This one had a different kind of agitator - it was just a couple of inches or so off the bottom. I specifically bought this to wash comforters and it seemed like it was good for that (rousing agreement from the salesperson). So after a couple of years of working with it, here are my observations:Pros: There are absolutely none!Cons: Okay, other than not having control over the settings (cannot override any of the preprogrammed wash settings), it simply doesnt get loads clean (yes, I use expensive HE detergent). Except for the bulky setting, there is never enough water to wash and rinse the loads properly. Next, it makes a mess of the clothes. At the end of the cycle, and this is true no matter what I wash or how large or small the load is or which cycle I pick - even light and slow spin, it just makes a tangled mess of the load. Stuff gets stuck inside of other stuff, wrapped around other stuff or are balled up. Never have I seen this type of issue. I constantly get the unbalanced load notice and have to manually redistribute the clothes most of the time.To address the too little water level, there are two options. I have discovered that the bulky setting has the highest water level, so I use that most of the time. From time to time (when I need different water temps or just want more water), I have developed a work-around by putting a Y adapter on the hot water inlet and a short hose. Once the washer starts the wash cycle, I stop it and add a bit of hot water to bring the level up enough to do a decent wash job - same for the rinse cycle. So much for Whirlpools water efficiency.Next, the hot isnt hot. Its barely lukewarm. So I turn the cold down to a trickle and I get a bit hotter water. It takes forever to rinse though. Its a good thing Im semi-retired. Next is the inflexible cycle/water selector. I have never had a washer I couldnt override to tell it what to do in unusual circumstances. Boy, what rocket scientist at Whirlpool dreamed that up!But above all, this just doesnt get loads clean. I have experimented with all the variables, load size, cycle selection, detergents, etc. Most of the time, I have to do two cycles with my loads and these are not unusual or extremely dirty loads. They are just normal, everyday laundry for an adult couple. Really, Whirlpool! Who was the conceptual designer on this? Thank goodness they werent working on the space shuttle or some disease research.Bottom line, I am so soured on the design and performance of this product that I will never buy another Whirlpool product, either brand name or generic (Sears). I just cant understand how a company would let something like this out the door.
