Whirlpool Refrigerator Model WRF560SMHV
My old 25 yr old Whirlpool died and was shopping for a new one. I saw the Cabrio and was really impressed by the features and large capacity interior. I can say that I thought my clothes were getting clean until I looked closely. I have never been so disappointed with this washer. I wish I had my old one back! Clothes arent clean, they are so twisted when I take them out and theres a horrible smell, like oil burning when it runs. The machine would fill up and when it would start to wash, it wouldnt, it would stop. And a loud humming noise was coming from the back.I shut it off and turned it back on and it wouldnt clear. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to clear it and start over. The bearings are gone now and I was going to have a repairman come and look at it, but now I wont bother! After reading everyones comments this Cabrio is a piece of junk and Im sorry I ever bought it! So now Ill be shopping for a new one tomorrow with an agitator!!! Im not impressed with the HE appliances!!! Ive owned this POS for not quite 6 yrs. Expensive to purchase and I will not recommend Whirlpool to anyone! Its sad that companies today make cheap products!! Built to last... ha!! Well never see those again!!
I like the experience of the microwave. Especially because it’s mounted in the wall and easily accessible. User-friendly, easy to use, and pretty self-explanatory. It’s very easy to clean which is something my wife really loves knowing we both are working professionals.
I purchased this washer from Lowes 5 months ago. I did not purchase a store warranty. Started having problems 60 days later. I have to deal with a Whirlpool rep. The company is 150 miles away. They have been to my home 3 times to resolve the issue. They replaced an air trap. The problem... my clothes still wont spin dry!!!
Cabrios have an inherent F1 error problem, The company had an initial recall and fixed it once, but problem reoccurred about 14 months later. Company declined to fix it. If there is any type of lemon law on appliances, this would apply. I would not recommend this washer.
I have a rental home and my residence, I have purchased a fridge for BOTH places. Within 1.5 years, both of the fridges shelving cracked. Customer service will not do anything to remedy this. It is a known issue with his model of appliance. There are numerous complaints and they DO NOT stand behind heir product. NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL.
Ive trusted Whirlpool washers for 20 yrs. Ive only had to buy 2 in my lifetime and neither have let me down. I will always purchase Whirlpool as it is a brand I can trust. Features and reliability are important to my family. Whirlpool has it all!
Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in my 8-year-old water heater, I purchased a new Whirlpool model N50T61 replacement from Lowes. Installation went smoothly and the unit lit off fine the first time. It heated the initial tank of water rather quickly, but the next morning, I noticed the status light on the control unit was not blinking, which indicated the pilot light had gone out. I relit the pilot light, the water heater fired off and appeared to be working properly. 12 hours later, the status light was out again. I relit the pilot, but within 20 minutes, it went out again. On Wednesday, the 29th, I called Whirlpool customer service and explained to the representative what had been happening. He stated that since the status light was not blinking a code, the problem was either an air supply or venting problem, and he couldnt help me. I relit the water heater again and performed the match smoke test described in the owners manual on the vent connection. It did exactly what the manual said it should do, so I assumed that was not the problem. However, while performing this test, the water heater went out again. This time, being right there when it shut off, I saw the status light blink twice about 5 or 6 times before it quit blinking all together. The two blink error code indicated low millivolt signal from thermopile.I called customer service again and explained to the representative what the first person had told me and also told him the results of my test and that this time, I had observed the two blink error code. He asked if I had a multimeter (which I do), so he had me disconnect the wires for the thermopile, connect the meter to the wires, light the pilot and read the voltage. My meter is an old analog unit, and not capable of reading millivolts (which is what the thermopile output is), and I informed the rep of this, but he had me do it anyway. As I suspected, I saw absolutely no reading on the meter. The service rep stated that he believed the error code and decided to send me a new thermopile assembly. However, their shipping department was closed for the day and I should not expect to see the new part until Friday. This was unacceptable, but he stated that this was the only option available to me.After thinking about this situation for a while, I again called Whirlpool customer service and told the representative that I was not satisfied with the solution previously presented to me and that I wanted a return authorization to take the water heater back to Lowes for replacement. The rep stated he couldnt do that, but said that there were a couple other things I could try. He attempted to explain these procedures to me, but wasnt able to do so clearly. He stated he would email the instructions to me. As of this writing, I still have not received the instructions. In the meantime, I did some internet research and found that Whirlpool water heaters have numerous chronic problems, including the issues I was experiencing. I decided this was not a product I cared to own. I called the Lowes store where I purchased the water heater and spoke with the manager. I explained the entire sequence of events to him, and he told me to bring the water heater back for a full refund. Since my local Lowes store only sells the Whirlpool brand, I took the money and purchased a different brand of water heater from another home improvement store. Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever purchase another Whirlpool product.
I have owned my Cabrios for over a year. They have given me no problems at all! I keep them cleaned with Affresh, even though Ive never ever had a smell in them. Also, I have never ever had my washer or dryer not do its job!! My clothes are fresh as a daisy and clean. I bought my Cabrios because my father purchased his first set and raved about them. So, I used his to try them out. Absolutely wonderful machines!! You get more area without those crappy agitators in the way for one thing. Always fresh water, not washing in the same filthy water, yuck! It wasnt but maybe 4 months later for our new house that we got our Cabrios. I insisted on them! LOVE LOVE LOVE my Cabrios!!!
Your Whirlpool French Door model # WRF993F1FM is a piece of junk... Had the fridge less than a year and had to have repairman come and fix it twice already... Would never buy Whirlpool Product again. Builds up ice in the refrigerator and then loses of most of the food in it. Leaks the water right onto the kitchen floor...really pitiful to spend more than 2000 dollars for a fridge that is a piece of junk.
This thing absolutely is total junk. It doesnt clean at all. I have to wash my sons sweaty uniform 3 times because the first two wash didnt clean it. A tub and washboard cleans better than this unit. A 600+ washer should clean the basic stuff. I remove clothes after it was finished and some of the clothes have dry spots where the water couldnt make it to. What kind of washer leaves clothes dry?I wish I came across this site when I was at the store. I did a search and the manufacture website and retail gave it positive reviews. I pretty sure the Whirlpool is paying people to write positive reviews. Technicians have come and gone telling me that there isnt anything wrong with it. That their diagnostic isnt detecting anything. Well when I call them again I will have the tech wait while I wash my sons sweaty uniform and then they can smell it after it goes through the wash. Im going call out a service tech until it works as advertise or they replace it. If I have to call them out once a week. That is what I will do.
I have a double oven. The bottom oven takes a long time to warm up. Good oven overall. I would definitely recommend this oven. The timer functions seem to work well and it is self cleaning as well.
I have a 3 1/2 year old 9400WFW WP washer with a 70 error code. After viewing complaints on various websites, it appears this is a large scale problem with Whirlpool Duet owners. I just got off the phone with WP customer service and explained how many complaints are out there for F70 code error, yet they do not have a recall on this part! How can this be justified? This is a non-mechanical part of the washing machine. The life expectancy should be more than 3 years. My washer is not overused as there are only 2 people in the household. I do not want to pay the cost to repair this. I think WP should issue a part recall on this model. Does anyone know how to find out how many replacement CCU or CPUs have been purchased in relation to the number of 9400 WFW sold or if there may be a chance that WP needs to reconsider a recall?
Before last Thanksgiving (2020) had installers set up this 3 door bottom freezer 2.4K new Whirlpool Fridge. It immediately froze almost half of the goods (big holiday foods). Whirlpool Tech showed up 3 times of 4 appts and could not repair. He said should work and now we froze Christmas Holiday foods. Different company of Whirlpool Tech was here was here twice, second time he ordered 4 parts and as of March 12, 2020, we can only use about half of our 24.7 cu ft fridge. For almost 6 months we have bins in our garage instead of the fridge...now our garage is too warm for bins of food. Whirlpool refuses to confirm this $24K fridge a lemon. We DESERVE more!
I also have the same water running into the refrigerator problem that so many people have reported. Im about to throw the Whirlpool out and start over. It is such poor business that whirlpool wont admit that the appliance has a major problem and fess up to correcting it for owners. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and will warn everyone to also steer clear of Whirlpool.
Two water heaters three yrs old that went kaput. Thankfully, they are under warranty. However, the tech that I called out said that his company doesnt work on Whirlpool because they are junky and they try to blame the tech if something doesnt work. I called to get new part, and of course now, I get to pay for labor. The lady on the phone actually suggested that I hire an electrician and replace a breaker instead of receiving parts for Whirlpool. Unbelievable. Needless to say, I echo all of the same concerns as the other posts. Im done with Whirlpool.
We purchased a Whirlpool water heater at Lowes for $1100.00. Four years later it isnt working. There are no parts to fix it available at any store in Dallas, TX. We had to call the company. They made us pay the overnight shipping fee for the part. Then the part didnt show up. When we called to find out why isnt the part at my house, they said they found out FedEx doesnt deliver on Saturdays. No one ever called to notify us of this, instead the response was that they would use it as a coaching lesson for not notify the customer. We have now been without hot water in the middle of winter for 5 days. We have no idea when the part will arrive and if it will even fix my defective water heater. We will never buy another Whirlpool product and I strongly encourage anyone who reads this to not buy Whirlpool. They dont stand by their product and have horrible customer service.
Bought this refrigerator in 2018 and ice maker went out 2x, then compressor went out and waited 4 weeks for part. Now the refrigerator is broken again and not cooling. Dozens of other reviews indicate the same issue with this model. It’s clearly a defective model. Customer service in Tennessee are very friendly but my refrigerator is still not working. Whirlpool French door - wrf954cihm.
I purchased a Cabrio high efficiency washer in 2011 and have had the glass top lid crack twice. The hinge is rusted, shedding rust all over the corner of the washer. It is a design flaw, for I see others have had the same problem with this particular year. I have also looked at the newer versions of the Cabrio and the lids have been redesigned. This lid should be recalled and replaced with a newer version, because this lid will always rust and crack with use.
If you are on this website, keep reading. You will definitely find many people that have your same problem. We purchased our refrigerator 5 years ago. Since then we have had a leak inside of it which is gradually forming mold that I have to cleanup. The ice maker and water dispenser do not function for months at a time. I just purchased 2 drawers for the same reason as the review on May 5, 2016. The tabs break off of the front panels and the panel falls off of the drawers. Theres no way to pull them out. We paid over $200.00 for two drawers!I spoke with customer service at Whirlpool and read them the 2016 review. Their answer was that you should not believe everything you read. My answer was, How cant I? Its happening to the refrigerator I own. They just kept giving robotic answers. The conversation was that of someone that is in denial of having a problem. They dont care. Instead of at least offering a discount on the drawers, she offered me an over $400.00 one year warranty. Pathetic! Whirlpool has just lost another customer.
When I first got my energy eff washer it would not fill up with water. Only about 7 inches or so. Then I read that is you wet some clothes first it goes on wait before it starts. Works excellent with the agitator. Have done clothes without detergent and everything comes out clean. My beef is there is no lint trap so rely on the dryer to get rid of it.
2 years ago, we remodeled our kitchen. We replaced with all Whirlpool appliances. WHAT A MISTAKE! Our ice maker went crazy 1 month ago and now our dishwasher almost caught fire Memorial Day weekend while we were away! Thermal Fuse and stainless interior prevented us from losing our house to fire but really Whirlpool, you spend that kind of money and all appliances are breaking before theyre even 3 yrs old! My husband is very good at fixing things but when he diagnosed dishwasher, he said he has to find a way to fix wires in control panel because melted insulation. Now I am afraid of it. So if you purchase Whirlpool, expect maybe 2.5 to 3 yrs service and think of them like a disposable lighter, use it and throw away.
I have had this range for approximately 4-5 years with no problems. The design and efficiency are great!! I would recommend this brand to anyone and would purchase it again myself. It has an extra burner just for warming which I love.
We bought a Cabrio washer less than three years ago. I have never felt that it got my clothes clean. The washer recently stopped spinning and agitating. We were told by a very experienced repair technician today that the gear case and bearings in the tub need to be replaced at a cost of $700.00. Needless to say, I am very upset. I called the Whirlpool Company and after being on hold for almost 15 minutes, I was told that my washer is too old to qualify for any help with repair cost or part replacement. My household consists of two adults. We do on average three loads a week. This is an inferior appliance and after this experience I will never purchase another Whirlpool product.
We purchased a new motor home with a whirlpool refrigerator. The refrigerator went out three months after purchasing this new motor home. We have had two expertise come out and check. Both repairmen said there was a leak in the cabinet and needed to be replaced. They called Whirlpool who will not honor the warranty. We are still under warranty but it is not worth the paper it is written on. Do not buy their products because their products do not work and they will not replace broken items from the manufacture. Will have to contact better business. Not material enough to hire attorney. This is what they count on. BEWARE.
We purchased a Cabrio top loading washer (WTW6400SW2) and a Cabrio dryer (WGD6200SW1) in 2007. From day one the washer has tied clothes in knots, never cleaned the clothes properly, and sputters the detergent and bleach unevenly. The fabric softener dispenser clogs up too, rendering it useless. The knotting of the clothes leaves them so tightly wrinkled they come out of the dryer very wrinkled. The water level, determined by the washers self-sensor that weighs each load, does not fully submerge the clothes. The manual says this is normal operation for this model and that it will not affect the cleaning process. Wrong. The small agitator is insufficient to clean the clothes but does a wonderful job of twisting them in long, tight knots. I want to kick myself every time I walk past the washer for paying so much money for such a poorly designed washer. I was very sick when they were first delivered and wasnt able to do much laundry. By the time I was well enough to do more with it, I noticed the clothes werent getting clean and were actually being damaged by the washers process thanks to uneven detergent distribution/spotting from the clothes sitting above the water level, and being poorly agitated and rinsed. Before I knew it, my warranty had expired. It was a very hectic year. Ive been very sick. We purchased it from Lowe’s. I had their techs out a time or two to check it in the beginning, but they always smoothed it over with some waffy, generic explanation. Eventually, I was past my 30-day trial period. I was on my own with Whirlpool, whod refer me to the manual and make me feel like I just had to get used to the new technology of the self-sensoring washer. Ive read that Whirlpool is aware of this issue and doing nothing. Ive read other complaints that describe the same problems I have and its obvious this is a design flaw. I appreciate these posts because I least I dont feel like Im insane anymore. No, just horribly ripped off by Whirlpool.
After 32 years of marriage and nothing but Whirlpool (because my mother swore by Whirlpool), that is all we have used. I am so disappointed in the Cabrio washer/dryer set we purchased at Lowes. After 18 months, the dryer just quit. The best part is, we hang clothes out most of the time. It was used one winter, $1400 wasted. We put a cheap Admiral in our second home and spent $500 total and they work fine. I will never ever purchase Whirlpool anything or recommend to anyone. Again, you lost a family tradition.
Whirlpool Water Heater Purchased at Lowes - Like all the others I see on here. I Purchased a Whirlpool water heater at Lowes Model# BFG1H4040T3NOV. Pilot will not stay lit; customer service tells me to replace the thermocouple which did not solve my problem. This is the second time in 2 years same problem. First time it was fixed under warranty but now since it was replaced once it is not eligible for replacement so I now must decide if I want to pay someone to figure out the problem and I must pay to repair it or what I am starting to think is that I will likely junk it and buy a quality unit and be done with the games and run around and just have hot water, which is all I really want. I will never buy another Whirlpool product in my life and will encourage everyone I know to do the same.
Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from Sears in August 2010. Last week, while my wife was washing clothes, we smelled smoke and the washing machine stopped working in mid cycle. Called Sears repair and came out Saturday 10/10/2015 to inspect the machine. When the repairman checked the codes he determined there was a problem with the motor. When he lifted the machine up the capacitor fell out in 2 pieces. It had blown apart and the motor had burned up. The estimated repair bill was $480.00. Needless to say we did not repair the machine. We will never buy another Whirlpool product or any other product that they manufacture under a different name.
I purchased two Whirlpool refrigerators 9 years ago and this year, 2018, both of them died. Bad compressors that cost up to $700 to replace. Repair folks would not guarantee them as there could also be other issues, like leaks in the internal parts of the refrigerator. I have a 20 year old frig (Kenmore) in my garage than runs great, no repairs and is in a non heated area. My conclusion is that that Whirpool reduced cost by making cheap products.
My Whirlpool microwave has been serving me for over 20 years. Never a problem. It performs well at all settings. Size is convenient for mounting over range. I recommend highly because of reliability and performance.
Very similar experience with warranty issues as everyone else. I purchased a brand new $2k side by side stainless steel model in Dec of 2013. It began not cooling in August of 2014 and they have since had 8 repairs and still will not exchange the fridge/replace the fridge. We finally had to buy another fridge and put it in our garage in order to have food in our home (of 5 kids and 2 adults). Ridiculous customer service every phone call. Possibly the least educated, rudest individuals always. Never buy from Whirlpool - worst reputation ever.
I have had this washer for a little over one year, it now does not work! I had a service tech out to look at it.. The motor gets too hot and the switchboard stops working. I have called Whirlpool twice and the options they have given me are not good! Basically it would be about half the price of a new washer! I should not be having these problems with a washer this new! I am very disappointed with Whirlpool and wont purchase this brand again!
I bought an Accubake gas range. I had Whirlpool replace the top sheet metal as it was bowed, cheap & thin. A few days later, they replaced all the brass burner orifices and it all froze and would not turn off. I had to pull the range away from the wall and turn the gas off. The bottom door to the broiler is wide open and it will not close. The stop button for the oven also does not work. This company has been selling these lousy products based on their previous good reputation.
There is a chronic and well-known problem with recent French door, bottom freezer refrigerators sold by Whirlpool, including the the brand names KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Maytag, and Amana. The problem is caused when the defrost drain freezes, preventing defrosted water from reaching the evaporation pan. After enough water builds up, it overflows along the front of the refrigerator. In my particular case, we have wood floors and they were ruined by the water. After doing some investigation on the internet, I have learned that this problem affected approximately 1,500 model numbers sold under these names. These model numbers are listed in a Technical Service Pointer issued by Whirlpool. In August 2013, after experiencing several years of problems with these units, Whirlpool issued a Technical Service Pointer W10632338, advising service technicians that a new P Trap drain tube kit was now available, and suggesting that the defective duck bill check valve should be replaced by this new part. The problem for years had been that the rubber duck bill check valve would, over time, become sticky (or tacky) and would then not open - causing water to build up above it. Eventually, the water would freeze and since newly defrosted water could no longer escape, it would build up and eventually overflow. From what Ive seen online, plus a conversation with the Sears technician who come out to diagnose and repair my leak, I am convinced there are many thousands of customers who have experienced this problem. Because it takes a while for the rubber check valve to become sticky and no longer open, it is not uncommon for the problem to not appear until after the standard one-year warranty has expired. From reports, Whirlpool has sometimes acknowledged the problem and effected repair of refrigerators no longer under warranty. But what about those customers, like me, who have experienced water damage to floors and cabinets? Shouldnt Whirlpool be liable for those repairs, too? Id be interested to know if anyone knows of plans for a class action lawsuit.
I have on more than one occasion and with small or normal loads had the washer stop and will not drain. My landlord says he bought the washer 2 years ago and it is my fault the washer wont drain. I read the instructions and can manually drain it but I shouldnt have to do this every time I wash. This has happened 5 times now and I am considering moving because of it since my landlord wont call a repairman to get it fixed.
I had this dishwasher for about a year. It was a great purchase for this model and the price was reasonable. The dishwasher is very quiet and wash dishes wonderfully. The only exception is it does take a long time to wash dishes. The cycle are long.
Bought a water heater on May 5th for 539.00 and was unable to get hot water all the time. After many days and dealing with Lowes which did not help and Whirlpool, I discovered that the unit I bought had no dip tube to bring the cold water to the bottom to be heated and thus provide hot water to the hot water outlet on the heater to the rest of the house. People at Lowes had no dip tubes and really have no knowledge of what is going on as the people at Whirlpool whom I called.
Purchased this oven in September 2012. Three months in, we tried to use the self-cleaning feature and blew a thermal link (guessing terminology). Tech came out and got the oven open and that was his determination. Also said he would replace both the front and the rear one because it was pretty common that if one was bad the other would probably follow. Said hed have it within a because he had to order it from the factory. I called a week later because no revisit had been scheduled and found out that the factory also did not have the part and was sending me a new unit. Whirlpool was supposed to call and tell me that and did not. It would be another week. Then a few more days for them to come out and replace it and pick up the original unit. Now I have brand new unit again so we tried the self-cleaner. Same issue. To make a long story short I called again this morning and scheduled yet another service call because the oven is inoperable again after running the self-cleaner. This is the 4th time with the replacement oven. They have replaced the thermal units several times and have replaced the fan.Fortunately, when I complained vehemently about the original unit, Whirlpool gave me a one year extended warranty on the replacement so I am still under warranty, which, if youre dumb enough to buy a Whirlpool after reading this, I would advise paying for. If you already have one and are having similar issues, call Whirlpool and insist they give you one for free because they sell junk. This time I told the nice customer service lady that, since the holidays are over and I can get by without the oven, I am going to run the self-clean right after the tech leaves. When it blows and gets repaired again I am going to repeat the process until they refund my money or send me something that works. Whirlpool apparently doesnt care because in their agreement with their service companies they only have to pay for the first visit. After that they just supply parts. I will keep doing this until I run out of service companies in Denver. Then I am going to pay for another extended warranty when this one ends in September 2014 and continue the process.Wake up Whirlpool!! If these units fail consistently at high altitudes (which every tech that has come out here has mentioned as an issue) then fix the problem or quit selling it in these areas.
I am concerned that Whirlpool microwaves installed over the stove have extremely faulty doors. I have two homes in which I have Whirlpool microwaves, and both have huge cracks in the door and small pieces inside the doors beginning to fall out. It deeply concerns me that it will cost more to replace the doors than to replace the microwaves. I have always believed in Whirlpool appliances but now feel that I will have to change brands. My question is “What in the world is wrong with your doors that they crack so easily and the company holds no responsibility with such faulty work?” I would simply think that this was just a faulty door on my microwave, but I have two that are cracked! This definitely means you have a faulty product.
I bought model #W4TXNWFWQ at Lowes in February 2013. It had a one-year warranty. Five months after the warranty expired, the defrost timer went out. It cost $100 to fix the $400 refrigerator. Planned obsolescence or coincidence? Either way, its poor quality.
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model WTW7340XW0 type 580 Serial C02770464 and a Whirlpool Cabrio Dryer Model WED7300XW0 Type DSSA-ELE-2406026-EL54 Ser M02717021 in 2010 for over $1,700. Included was a 3-yr anything goes wrong, well replace for free warranty. A month after the purchase, we lost our home and were forced to move. We put the new appliances in storage and they have been there ever since. From the day we purchased the washer, we never got a clean wash out of it. It seemed it used about a teaspoon of water. Clothes were never clean... We had many other problems at the time and both washer and dryer were put into storage.Today, the warranty has long expired and I happened to check on the ConsumerAffairs site to see if there were any comments regarding whirlpool Cabrio washers... WOW! 1600 negative comments and not one positive. Later, I realize we made a $1700 mistake. My question is do I have any recourse? Please advise.
We bought a new Whirlpool washer/dryer 6 months ago. Dryer is ok, seems to take a long time to dry. Washer is horrible. It constantly goes off balance and shakes all over the floor. Once opened, the clothing may be a little off, but not enough to cause such commotion. SO FRUSTRATING! If we could afford to replace these, they would be out on the curb today!
It took several delivery attempts to get a refrigerator without cosmetic flaw and it only lasted four years before Freon leak in evaporative system occurred. It would have cost more to repair than replace. Needless to say, I replaced it with another brand.
Purchased a double wall oven and had it for 13 months. Used it this past Christmas and for the first time used the self cleaning mode. After an hour the power went out and now the oven is dead. Whirlpool service sent me to a local repair company and they want $70 to come out and look at the oven. This seems like a huge problem based on all of the feedback on the web. This is an obvious lemon and Im going to talk all over social media about the poor quality of this product.
We were a Whirlpool family, and have been using a Whirlpool front loader – Duet Steam Model # WFW9500TW - for the past nine years without any issues until recently when it started to vibrate. Technician sent by Whirlpool blamed it on failing bearing and that it was cheaper to replace than to repair (In hindsight, I wish we had tried repairing). Naturally, we decided to replace with a new front loader from Whirlpool - Model # WFW6620HW. Our previous version had a max spin speed of 1000 RPM and a capacity of 3.5 cu. ft. This new one has a top spin speed of 1160 RPM and a capacity of 4.5 cu. ft. The main problem with our old one was vibration, and this was being caused by the washer going into high spin while the clothes were not evenly distributed throughout the drum. In one spin, the clothes would spin perfectly without any vibration, but in another spin of the same cycle, the washer would not allocate that same clothes properly throughout the drum, which leads the drum to cause vibration from unbalanced high spin. Vibration is a problem, because like most Americans, we live in a wood frame house, and have a basement underneath with the washer located on the main floor. Vibration from unbalanced high RPM spin gets sent down to other areas of the house, causing damage, drywall cracks, separation in trims, etc. And these are all only the damages one can see with their eyes. One point about vibration and some myth busting. Provided that all your washer legs are meeting the floor and not on a saggy floor, your washer should not vibrate more than it does during an empty spin. If it does, then it is due to faulty, poor design/engineering. What happens is when the steel drum becomes unbalanced with laundry in high spin, it starts to shake as more of the weight is on one side, which one can notice looking inside the washer window. There are concrete weights fastened to the top and bottom of drum to keep the drum in place and to reduce its shaking tendencies. However, this weight also causes the washer cabinet to wobble if the drum itself is shaking. This wobble in turn causes the washer legs, which may be firmly grasping the floor, to very slightly come off the floor, which one can feel if touching both the washer feet and floor with their finger at the high spin of an unbalanced spin. And that motion of legs coming off the floor and hitting back at high RPM is what causes vibration to be felt on the floor and to be seen on the cabinet. Of course, this effect is amplified with washers that decide to go into an unbalanced spin with an even higher max spin. When our old washer perfectly balanced the clothes, it behaved like it was running high spin while the drum was empty. This is how all washers should behave, especially in America where the vast majority of homes are wood frame based. However, that was not what we experienced with this new Whirlpool. If a washer is not capable of balancing out the clothes, extra function or feature should be deployed in containing the drum shake to within the drum, and not allow it to escape.First, our old front load Duet Steam Whirlpool was Made in Germany. This new one is ‘assembled’ in America. The door window of the new one is plastic and feels cheap and flimsy, but I expect all the darker color door windows of newer front loaders to be plastic. Consider it cost cutting. We did not look for additional anti-vibration technology because our old Duet didn’t have anti-vibration features aside from its two springs and four suspensions. We decided not to use Load & Go because I have personally seen liquid HE detergents gum up over time, so I didn’t want to risk it gumming up inside the washer. After the installers left, I spend an hour cleaning the outside of the washer to perfection. Sadly, time wasted. Once I was done, I first did a wash without clothes, and then with clothes in Normal, fast spin cycle with drum about 2/3rds full. Just pants and t-shirts. There is a recirculating pump at the top of the drum to distribute the water, and to also distribute soap mixed water. But I am not sure if this is without problems. These pumps can collect soap residue with time, and you will eventually end up rinsing the laundry with soap mixed water even in rinse cycle. In getting to the first spin in wash cycle, I was flabbergasted to see how, just how rudimentary, I want to reiterate the word rudimentary, the load detection was before entering high spin. Our nine-year-old washer had a more comprehensive one. The new washer would spin the clothes at very, very low spin and simply see if the drum is most evenly spinning. That’s all. Compared it to our old washer which would also shake the drum to see if there was movement from side to side, because clothes can change their position when entering high spin. This rudimentary load detection causes the new washer to create an even worse uneven load distribution around the drum before spin, even though it may seem even at very low RPM. So, why is the new washer’s load detection so basic? I believe it is due to ball bearings.Front load washer models from other companies employ ball bearings to reduce vibrations from uneven loads. Whirlpool does not employ such feature, at least, they do not advertise them. However, to my surprise, I hear metal balls hitting each other every time the drum direction changes during the wash cycle. I inquired Whirlpool about this and I received contradictory responses. My theory is that the basic load detection before spin speed is used because Whirlpool assumes any changes to load distribution will be taken care of or reduced by the ball bearings of the washer. But this ultimately allows the washer to go into more uneven spins. The bearings may also be used to increase the tolerance of what is considered an ‘unbalanced load’ in order to get the washer to go into spin cycle faster, decreasing the time involved of the washer to go into spin cycle. Sadly, to my dismay, the new washer ended up causing a worse vibration than our old one with failing bearing.I called up the retailer the same day of delivery and complained of vibration. He first sent an installer to see if it was installed properly, and upon showing the installer of the vibration issues, the retailer sent me a new washer couple of days later thinking the first one was a lemon, and even though it has less noisy draining noise, it too exhibited the same issues with it going into significantly uneven spin. In the end, we decided to return the Whirlpool washer all together, at a loss of $200 because the retailer did not hold up to their spoken return policy. We have done many loads in this washer to see if our loading is an issue, loads of varying sizes, loads of varying types, loads of weights, and we maybe only had an evenly distributed load around the drum about once or twice. Once it was a King comforter. But, like our old washer, this too ended up not distributing properly around the drum in the final spin cycle and started vibrating, even though it was vibration-free in the previous high spin cycle. This proves that the problem exists directly within the washer, not the floor, leveling, load, etc. Some other problems with the washer: - The washer door, Load & Go dispenser at bottom, and single load dispenser at top are all plastic parts which all vibrate significantly during fast spin cycle. Especially the Load & Go dispenser which keeps hitting the cabinet to make banging noise. - Drain sounds are much, much louder than our previous Duet. It was even louder in the first one we received. Combine this to uneven spins and this washer can perhaps compete with an engine in terms of the sound it generates. - Single use dispenser at top left will hit the washer door if washer door is opened when the dispenser is also in open position. - Buttons are sometimes unresponsive, to which I have to power off and try again. But this has only happened a couple of times.- There is a small ¼ in. opening where the steel drum meets the rubber gasket, opening in which items like coins, etc., may fall through and are irretrievable. Don’t think small socks would be affected. To potential buyers, I suggest you proceed with caution when it comes to this washer. Understand the retailer’s appliance return policy and make sure it is shown in paper. It can save you a lot of headache. Get the extended warranty of three years because manufacturers only give you one-year warranty for a reason. I would also suggest that you avoid this washer at all costs if you have any floor level below where this washer is to be installed, especially if the level below is a basement. Your house is more important and more valuable than a $1000 washer. In the end, I am very disappointed in Whirlpool, an American company. Perhaps Whirlpool focuses their attention on top loaders, not front loaders. But Whirlpool had nine years to improve their washers, and it is sad that we may now have to go outside of America for a quality product to be used in American homes. P.S. No solicitation please, Whirlpool. This washer is in the process of being returned. P.S.S. I already posted this review in Whirlpools website, and it is under moderation.
Since May 3, 2016, five servicemen have failed to repair my Whirlpool refrigerator (WRF560SEYM), which is less than 2 yrs old. One trainee from A&E Factory Service had the nerve to reinstall broken parts. I have been completely without refrigeration for the past 48 hrs only to learn that the repairman scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled because AIG warranty has not approved his visit. Further investigation reveals that the parts were never ordered, pending approval from AIG. Whirlpool cant help me because AIG has not declared the appliance unfixable. Hhgregg cannot help. I have spent countless hours on the phone on hold & wasted hundreds of dollars on spoiled food. Dont trust Whirlpool. Theyre not the company they once were. Their warranties arent worth the paper theyre printed on. Buyer beware!
We purchased the Induction Range Whirlpool Model WF1910H0AS0 almost 2 years ago and bought the extended warranty that was offered by A.J. Madison. We started having problems about 8 months after the purchase. We have had technicians out numerous times and they couldnt solve the problem of the cooktop part of the range locking and beeping when we use the oven. I have made several calls to Whirlpool and basically was told too bad. I see that there have been several complaints with the product and they have stopped making it. On one repair visit we were told that they were replacing a particular part because they were having so many problems with the heat blocker that goes under the glass top that they made it thicker and were hoping that this would solve the problem. It did not.The thing that really has sent me over the edge is that last night I was just boiling water and I heard a pop that came along with a smell (electrical burning smell) and the range blew a fuse and now the cooktop part just shows the deadly error F47. I am so disappointed in Whirlpool and their customer service and too bad attitude. You would think when you are spend almost $1800 for a range that it would not have problems so quickly and pretty much render useless in less than 2 years. Also shame on A.J. Madison for selling extended warranties through a company that has such a bad ratings with the Better Business Bureau. The only reason I gave 1 star is because you cant have no star.
Bought this side by side, Whirlpool with ice maker and water dispenser in April 2013 at Home Depot. From the beginning, we have NEVER been able to get any chilled water out of the refrigerator. Sometimes the water is even warmer than the water out of the tap. Repeated attempts to fix and now Whirlpool tech Tom, told repairman, sorry this is normal, no refrigerator can guarantee temp of water.” Ive NEVER had a refrigerator with a water dispenser not chill the water much less, come out WARMER! HORRIBLE DESIGN & BAD COMPANY POLICY! Will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product!!! Now its dripping water inside fridge! Model #: WSF26C2EXW01 Ser#: HR30821156
Purchased front load washer & dryer 2009 - have had issues with the washer ever since. The last episode has taken 3 visits from repairman - they cant figure out what the problem is - wont finish a cycle (any of them) and locks up. Cant open the door without turning it off and then back on. But the load wont spin dry - leaves clothes wet. Already had the harness replaced a couple of years ago and now they replaced the flywheel (it was warped) thinking that was the problem. Nope. Still wont work & the repair company said they cant figure it out & neither can Whirlpool. Im very angry after reading all of these posts about Whirlpool. Not a happy customer. But what can you do???
In the past 8 years, I have had to replace 2 Whirlpool Calypso washing machines and 1 Cabrio washing machine. All 3 washing machines worked great for the first 2 years. I purchased the Whirlpool extended warranty on all 3 washers. The first Calypso had 12 repairs done on it. Finally A&E repair service deemed the washer not repairable. Whirlpool replaced the Calypso with a new Calypso. Based on the problems with the first one, I again, purchased the extended warranty. Again, after the manufacturers warranty expired, I again had issues. After numerous repairs, A&E deemed the washer unrepairable. I contacted Whirpool warranty service and was told that they would reimburse me 75% of the cost of their choice of a Whirlpool washer! Since I have had 10 hand surgeries, I need a washer that does not have an agitator (hence the original Calypso purchase). The model that Whirpool warranty deemed as a replacement had an agitator and was also a much lower energy efficiency rating. I found that the Cabrio was a comparable replacement model and finally Whirlpool agreed to replace the washer at 75%. I was angry that they didnt cover the total replacement, but felt at least I got a totally new problem-free washer. I again purchased the extended warranty. I got the Cabrio in March of 2008. In April of 2011, the washer started getting rust around the bleach dispenser and also I would get UL code (Uneven Load). A&E tech came out and replaced a bearing. He said that the rust was not covered under the warranty. I asked how it was okay to have rust around the bleach dispenser if the washing machine is always wet with water. A month later, I was still having a UL code and the rust was getting worse. A&E came out again and said that even though I saw rust around the bleach dispenser, the rust was in fact underneath the tub and had eaten away at the parts. He called the warranty company to authorize repairs and the Whirlpool warranty company denied any more repairs on the washing machine.
I bought my house in 2009, and the previous owner bought this refrigerator in 2005. By 2012 The light and temperature read out went out. A circuit board had to be replaced. I have a home service company that I pay for yearly which takes care of the appliances. As usual, the fine print on the back of the contract said circuit boards were not covered. When I went online to purchase the part, the cheapest I could find it was $180. My service company said they would not cover it because they break down so frequently, with Whirlpool as the biggest offender. They gave me a discount and charged me $125 for the replacement. Whirlpool is making a fortune on these defective parts, which last long enough during the warranty period, and then you are on your own.In 2015, after the refrigerator was 10 years old, the compressor died. Hundreds of dollars of food spoiled. My service company said I was covered for the replacement, but I would have to wait 5-7 days for the part to come in. I was so furious that a refrigerator of this age would break down on me. The repairman told me he has seen these Whirlpools break down after 5 years. He said they are junk. When I was young, we moved into a new 20 story building in 1963. All the apartments had the same refrigerator made by Frigidaire. I lived there for 26 years. When I moved out in 1989, that refrigerator was still there working perfectly. It never needed a repair. I never heard anyone complain about theirs either. How is it that in 1963 a company could build a workhorse of a refrigerator, but in 2005, Whirlpool, a company in business since about 1911 makes this junk? I will never buy a Whirlpool product, and will tell the world not to do so as well.
Whirlpool Duet 3.9 cu ft High-Efficiency WFW9451XW00 - Hear my first experience with Whirlpool. I purchased a washer machine 30 April 2014. Guess what - machine stop working suddenly on July 30th, just about three months later. I had a lot of guest from overseas. While they visit me, I did not have my washer machine. How embarrassing. It was big mistake to buy Whirlpool. It is all made plastic inside and they uses cheap Chinese material. Anyway, technician came house to check what the problem was... all control system was burned. He ordered almost 10 parts from Whirlpool on 04 August. Whirlpool scheduled delivery for 20 of August. I called them for them to send the parts faster so my guests could wash their clothes. They send them little faster for August 16. After a day, technician was in the house again. I waited about 3 hours for him to fix my machine. He was really nice guy. He put install all new parts. Just in front of me, new parts broke after 5 minute. Whirlpool still did not contact me about their decision. Today is August 26th... I called them 5 time already - Nobody give me useful info. NO Whirlpool, guys - bad service.
Refrigerator stopped cooling... Paid $200 to have it diagnosed... Cost more than a new refrigerator to get fixed...$14,000. Refrigerator was 7 years old, energy star. How can it be energy efficient if it was made to last only seven years? How much energy is wasted making new ones to replace the broken ones, that cost too much to fix. Energy star. What a scam.
I purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater 2010 and it started having problems 2014. I called customer service. They informed me my 6 year warranty was only for parts and I had to pay for a certified repairman to come and do diagnostic tests and they will pay for parts only. I said the repairman is half the price as the hot water heater and then he has to come install it. Woman on the phone was just as ready to get off the phone as I was! Save yourself and just buy a new one NOT WHIRLPOOL!!!!!!
In March 04 2014, I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine. After having had a Whirlpool for 17 years without any problems with it, I purchased another one. This last one is a piece of junk. I dont even want to talk about the noise, I think it is expiring or on its last leg. They should fire the engineers that invented this model and bring back the other engineers that invented the one I had for such a long time, they far surpassed these space scientists that they now have. On August 8, I called Whirlpool, they sent me someone from Dinos appliances. This man tells me that there is nothing wrong with this machine and that he re-calibrated it. Whatever that means, it is still not wringing the clothes properly. There are only 2 people in my household, so my loads are not very large. I even tried this Drain & Spin cycle after the wash was completed and the clothes still came out too wet. I also have a Whirlpool Dryer and I will not replace it with the same brand. I also will never buy a Whirlpool product again and will make sure that I will share my experience with everyone I know.
My mom got me and my children a new fridge side-by-side ice maker. We were hoping that since it was new, we would have it for a while, but 1 year and 1 month later, it is not making ice and changes temp for no reason. My fridge will, most of the time, keep cold; but then, there are those days that it doesnt. No one touched the temp, and since its been more than a year, Im stuck. How wonderful to spend all that money for a year and one month! We dont have a working ice maker, and also, I cant keep food good. I cant afford to throw food away. And my mom and I cant afford to get another one.
This refrigerator is less than 1 yr. Old and this repair will be the FOURTH. The severe lack of craftsmanship and customer service is shocking! Most states do not have lemon laws for appliances, however something needs to be done to compensate me for THE TIME and inconvenience this caused my family. I needed to purchase a second compact refrigerator because I knew that it would break down again!
In the last year, I have had to put in two sets of parts to my Whirlpool water heater (thermocouple) within three months in between each malfunction. Now the hot water is out again, and I need to have a plumber come and reapply new parts to the hot water heater. Whirlpool is refusing to send new parts to the less than a year old hot water heater until they speak with my plumber. It was purchased in December 2011. I am a disabled senior citizen, and we have not had hot water in over a week. Meanwhile, the weather is in the teens and has been snowing. I live alone and have not been able to wash dishes, take showers or mop my floor. Being a diabetic, cleanliness is very important to maintain good health. Living on Social Security, I cannot afford to replace my water heater parts every few months and my health cannot afford to not have hot water. Model number for this Whirlpool water heater is N30T61-303; the product number is 0733315.
Ran Aqualift self cleaning cycle 4 times at 40 minutes and only bottom was cleaned, sides are still spotted and the rear wall still shows a heavy spotting. My stove is less than a year old. My prior stove with self clean at a higher heat was great, when done only had to wipe out!
My front load washer doesn’t get my clothes clean. I have to rinse twice and still there is soap in my towels and they smell bad. I’ve followed all the tips without much luck. Now I use only Oxyclean and rinse with 1/4-1/8 c vinegar. The machine doesn’t pump all of the water out of the machine either. To me it is low-efficiency!
Absolutely terrible product. Have had nothing but problems with it since I got it. After 4 months the pilot started going out every couple of days. Would have to vacuum the filter just to get it to light. They eventually sent me a screen to wrap around the bottom, that would only extend the interval to maybe a week instead of going out every few days. Now tonight it wont even relight! So tomorrow Im buying another heater and throwing this piece of junk out, a waste of $750.00 for two years of headaches. Dont, trust me. Dont buy this garbage of a water heater. And like others I bought it a Lowes, done with both of these stores!
Buyer beware. There was a class action lawsuit filed for our Whirlpool dishwasher some years ago. The control panel shorted and or overheated on ours in February of 2021, causing it to emit white plastic smelling smoke. (Glad we were home when we ran it.) I opened the door to turn it off and it continued to run, smoke and spray water all over the kitchen. Called Fire Department. Filed a complaint with Whirlpool. They sent a repair person to inspect and take photos. Its been 6 weeks and still have not received a call from them. I bought a Frigidaire. It is made by Electrolux. FYI, Kenmore is also made by Whirlpool.
We purchased a brand new Whirlpool water heater from Lowe’s two years ago. The water heater is not heating properly, and I contacted customer service to inquire about their great warranty. I was very disappointed with their poor customer service, but above all, their warranty. They emailed instructions to run a test, which did not resolve my issue since I still run out of hot water halfway through my shower. Mind you, its only one person in the house for a 40-gallon Whirlpool water heater. I have replaced the heating elements and thermostat, and it is still not heating. I contacted Whirlpool customer service, and they are refusing to replace it, stating that the water heater is working. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again. They do not back up their products, and their customer service is worthless. My recommendation is not to buy Whirlpool products.
I call in to Customer Service to get someone to fix my washing machine because it wasnt working and when I called, I forgot to have my washing machine serial number at hand. The person on the other side told me that she cant wait for me to get the serial number more than 2 minutes and I ask myself, if they cant wait for me more than 2 minutes to get my serial number, then why should I wait a week to have someone fix my washing machine?
I want to make this clear I’d give NO stars if I could!! Whirlpool is totally junk!! I bought a whole suite of Whirlpool kitchen appliances from Home Depot that is a dishwasher, stove, and fridge. The dishwasher never cleaned the dishes, always left a film on everything, cant clean out the drain area, the screens don’t come off and less a year later the dishwasher top rack literally fell off and broke all the glasses that were loaded in it and the fridge keeps freezing all my food!!! I keep having to adjust the thermostat up down up down just to make it doesn’t freeze. Now that the warranty is no good on any of the crap I will no doubt be charged an arm and a leg to get it fixed, which definitely won’t be worth it!!! Whirlpool is such crap!!! Made in America no wonder!!! Don’t buy any whirlpool anything!!! You will be very VERY disappointed!!! I’ve bought plenty of brand new appliances. Bosch is by far the best dishwasher even the cheaper ones. Now I have to pay to dispose the whirlpool crap!!! I am sure whirlpool doesn’t give a crap though!!! They will keep selling their crap, but don’t Buy it!!! You will be soooo disappointed!!!
I originally brought this to the attention of Whirlpool on February 27, 2014, and they chose to ignore the matter I raised. I am appalled at their customer service, but then again, customer service has been dead in America for decades now. I purchased a KitchenaAid (Architect Series II, Model KERS807SSS02, Ser. XW4704146) oven in 2009, which included a 5-year extended warranty. The first time I had to use my extended warranty was the first time a pot overboiled and thus overflowed covering the top of my range. Since then, Ive had to have my oven serviced two other times, but resulting from a pot which overflowed on the range. The controls are located in the front, directly below the stove top. There is most definitively a flaw in the design of the model I purchased. It seems quite obvious to me that the design should have included protection from moisture reaching the controls. It is very common for pots to overboil, from time to time, and thus overflow, but this should not cause the controls to malfunction due to seepage. Had I purchased the model that had controls behind the range and controls above the cooking surface, moisture would never reach the controls when a pot overflows. It should not cost hundreds of dollars each time a pot overflows on a range. Had I known that the oven model I purchased had a design flaw that allows moisture to reach the computer controls of the oven, I would have purchased the oven with the controls above the cooking surface.I invested over $2K on this oven because having owned KitchenAid appliances in the past, the KitchenAid brand had historically proven reliable. KitchenAid (or now Whirlpool) can no longer take pride in the quality of their products, most likely relative to the loss of manufacturing jobs in the U.S. Whirlpool ignored me the first time I contacted them on this matter and most recently today when I was told that it was a use matter. Apparently they believe that an overflowed pot is not a common occurrence on a range. I wrote directly to Jeff Fettig, CEO of Whirlpool and he has chosen to ignore me.
I bought a Cabrio washer in 2009. I started receiving the infamous F51 code. When I called Whirlpool, they refused to even acknowledge that there is a problem with this washer. When I brought up the pages and pages of complaints about it, they acted like they did not exist. I hope this review will deter people from purchasing one of these faulty products!
Whirlpool has been around for years. This is my 3rd machine. I had both washer and dryer. But machines today arent made like they use to. They breaks down easily. The parts are cheap. I had a Samsung washer. It was one of the recalls. I got ripped off by Samsung and Best buy. I have received the full value.
Need to arrange shelves for better storage!!! Ive not had any major problems with it so far!!! I need the rubber seals on the freezer and refrigerator door replaced!!! Other than that its alright!!! Im hoping it lasts for a long time!!!! On disability and be hard to replace!!!
If you have the double oven below with bad board, start shopping for a new oven, but the part is no longer made. How can you end of the life a product after only 6 years? This is about the RBD305PDS12 double oven! I have wasted 3.5 days with Whirlpool/Maytag. Its very Frustrating how each department passes you along and makes promises about what the other department can do, resulting in zero satisfaction. None of them are well informed to say the least.I have a 6-year-old double oven that has a bad board and after 3 days, I find out it is no longer made. I paid $1500.00 six plus years ago and now I get to spend $2000 plus to get a new one. Again, how can you end of life a product after only 6 years?
Ive had this refrigerator at an upscale rent house for 2.5 years. I have invested over $1,000 in repairs, all of which happened after the one year warranty was up. Now I have to replace it completely because it makes a loud noise that my tenants cant stand. Dont buy this unit.
l will never buy Whirlpool appliances again, nor do I recommend to anyone. My wall over was 1 1/2 yrs old with a worthless 1 yr limited Warranty. I had Total Appliance from Cleveland do the repair, the only ones I found at the time that would work on this type over with a Digital panel. I think the engineers think we all live in Silicon Valley. Unfortunately the cost to repair after I cleaned the oven for the first time was $384.00 to unlock the door and 2 trips and he had to remove the door to replace 2 fuses so the door and panel would work! Im afraid to clean them oven again..I called Whirlpool and the first wait time was 70 Mins... I put the phone on speaker, finally I talked to 2 Customer Service men to no avail. He basically said my Warranty was up and nothing they could do! I said I was going to complain on Social Media and he didnt care! Go to Consumers Digest before you buy any new appliance! PS, I also went on YOUTUBE and you can see all the TROUBLESHOOTING ON MANY APPLIANCES!
Most dissatisfying experience with Whirlpool. In 2013 I bought a stackable Whirlpool washer and dryer. Everything worked well for two months, and then the washer started having problems. The washer memory board unit (MBU) needed to be replaced. This was done under warranty. One and half years later I started getting the error F07 which means an electrical problem. I called Whirlpool and they told me a technician would cost $85 for a service call. I delayed the call until today. The technician came, did a diagnostic and then advised me that I would need a new MBU. The cost plus labour amounts to almost the cost of a brand new washer. To add insult to injury, Whirlpool advised the service call would cost $89. (They upped the price since my last call.) You can imagine my shock when the technician told me that the $89 covers the first 15 minutes. I paid $133.34 for one half hour diagnostic testing and to be told I need a new MBU which is on back order for at least 6 months!!! My recommendation is - NEVER BUY any Whirlpool product ever.
Just had the repairman at my house to repair my 2-year-old Whirlpool refrigerator Model GB2F4DXWS07 - he couldnt fix it. Just throw it away and get a new one. There is a blockage somewhere in the line, he suspects the lines were not cleaned before it was charged at the factory. Repairman said it was a typical 20-year-old refrigerator problem. Customer service was no help - Whirlpool live chat is currently unavailable. Lousy product with worse service. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.
I have tried to contact Whirlpool, email and telephone call. Finally someone called me but Customer Service was poor. I asked her to have a Manager call me, but she never did. They also never responded to my email. We Purchased our new Refrigerator 21 c.f. side by side 2 months ago. The ice maker is driving us crazy. It is very loud. There are white plugs on the 2 bottom corners that make the appliance look extremely cheap. I am not happy with this Refrigerator!
Dishes are very clean and the machine is very quiet. Only downside is the silverware in the door is not easy to load. The layout is very good with easy adjustments. Again, the downside is the silverware in the door is inconvenient. The easiest way to load is to basically leave the door partially open. With the door fully open you have to slide the silverware in sideways where it also tends to catch on other silverware. Perfect for 4 people. This was the best looking stainless steel dishwasher for the money. Whirlpool Gold Series.
We have the Cabrio model and are thoroughly pleased with the performance. My only issue is the amount of sounds during the spin cycle. Otherwise, the machine is quiet. I like having the automatic dispensers for soap, bleach and fabric softener. Not having the classic tub makes loading a little different as the clothes need to be distributed around the side of the tub and avoid the center.
I have purchased a Whirlpool microwave oven last year (October). It is not working properly now & not heating well. Regarding this I have registered a complaint in the service center & Customer Care but we have not received any reply for this.
I have both Whirlpool washer and dryer. These are my second set. Whirlpool is reliable & long running. I love this brand! My dryer is six years old and the washing machine is nine years old. Never a problem and they do about six loads a week.
On March 3, I purchased a dishwasher (Model: KUDE70FXSS1 Serial No.: F10202361) on Whirlpools VIP link, which will more likely be my last Whirlpool purchase based on the slightly damaged product and incredibly poor customer service Ive received. Upon delivery of the dishwasher on March 9, I noticed that the left rear wheel was damaged and slightly bent. I also noticed that the unit was a little off balance. But the delivery person explained to me that everything was okay and that the front legs just needed to be adjusted. I believed him and signed the delivery receipts with the additional note about the left rear wheel being damaged. At the time of delivery, the driver also happened to mention that J.B. Hunt did offer installation services for dishwashers. I then called Whirlpool customer service, which pretty much gave me the cold shoulder, and said that it wasnt in their policy. I had to request the installation service at the time of purchase and Whirlpool would not send someone back out. This made me upset because I initially wanted to have the dishwasher installed but your VIP link didnt show an option for installation. Im not sure how Im supposed to request the installation services when theyre not being offered. But the genius customer service representative thought that I should intuitively call Whirlpool when the link isnt on the website. This is the first demonstration of Whirlpools poor customer service, in my opinion. After a couple of days of driving around to get a hose and a cord to perform the installation, I finally installed the dishwasher on March 12. Once installed, I noticed that the hinge on the left side was rubbing against the tub of the dishwasher. The door hinge was bent and the main tub was slightly damaged. Again, I contacted Whirlpools customer service department who sent out a repairman who confirmed that the dishwasher needed new tub and hinges which were covered under warranty. Unfortunately, he told me that I would not receive a new dishwasher since I installed it myself. He would order a new tub and hinges and transfer all the equipment and wiring from my original dishwasher to the new tub. Essentially, I would have a refurbished dishwasher at a new price, which I do not want.I initially wanted to have the dishwasher installed but your VIP link didnt show an option for installation. If Whirlpools website worked the way it should have and offered an installation service, I wouldnt be in this situation. I would have paid for the installation and the people installing the new dishwasher would have realized that it was damaged prior to them leaving and ordering a new dishwasher. I am a customer and not a dishwasher repairman. No normal person would have been able to catch the damage that is on my machine. Second, I find it hard to believe that Whirlpools policy states to have all the equipment from my original dishwasher installed on a new tub. So, I paid $989 for a new dishwasher thats really a refurbished dishwasher because of the damage. I wish I would have visited this site prior to purchasing. I will never deal with Whirlpool again.
I have bought what I thought my dream washer and would never need to buy another one. I told people about it and could have sold many of them. That was in my first year. Now I am into our second year with them and it quits. It cost right at 500.00 and when I called Sears, the company I bought it from, they charged me a service call and says it will be $585.00 to fix. WHAT? This is a lemon. If I were to buy a car and have this sort of problem they would warranty it. Why not appliances? This is an outrage. This should be illegal to sell.
We purchased a dishwasher for $650 and within a very short period of time, the upper rack was so squeaky that it was intolerable. Service guys came and replaced the rack and wheels and all was well until a few months passed and it happened again. At that point, it was outside of the warranty, so we called upon our extended warranty we bought through Whirlpool. Guess what? That warranty doesnt cover the racks. So they referred us back to Whirlpool. They told us we had to pay for it ourselves. After being treated like a ping pong ball several times, we ended up paying about $150 for labor for another guy to come out and replace the racks again. Whirlpool agreed to pay for the parts. A few months later, we again have a squeaky upper rack that is so loud it wakes people up in our house and its less than two years old at this point. Weve been sold a LEMON!! Just got off the phone with a supervisor at Whirlpool who said they cant do anything about it and wont acknowledge we have a lemon. When I told her I was going to take this as far as I need to to resolve it, even if we have to go to court, she laughed out loud at me. We will never again buy a Whirlpool product. Our LG appliances have been great however.
My new energy-saving Whirlpool washer sucks. Laundry comes out smelling as bad as it went in. Washcloths are as dirty as they were when they went in. I have to take my dogs bed blankets to my sons home to wash them because this new washer will not even clean blankets.UPDATED ON 08/21/2015 - I have had two Whirlpool washers in 38 years. They were great. I buy a new up to date energy-saving Whirlpool washer and it doesnt last a year and a half. Now it is costing me $433 to have it repaired. I am preparing a washer and I am very unhappy with to start with. I will never recommend these washers.
We purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater approximately 4-5 years ago and have had problems with the pilot staying lit. I contacted Whirlpool and their trouble shooting included doing a draft test (I am a teacher not a plumber) and removing the closet door that houses the unit. I am very frustrated by this entire ordeal and would like if they would replace the entire unit. At this point I dont want another Whirlpool product. The plumber made a service call at 12 noon and by 3:30 we had luke warm water and by 6:00 pm the water was ice cold! I will never recommend any Whirlpool products.
I took the time to read the owners manual, and then ran machine (washer wtw5000dw0). Using an affordable HE approved detergent (Xtra), I had no problems. If the washer doesnt fill or drain correctly, look up how to recalibrate it, was easy to do because I did that after transporting it. My clothes are cleaner, and I am using LESS detergent!
I purchased a gas range with JDR8895 last 09/06/2007 at Home Depot in Metro Denver for approximately $1700.00. I will make my final payment on my Home Depot account next month. I was preparing dinner last September 10, 2011. I had the pans on the cooktop, one on the right rear and one on the left front burners. This was the set up because the right front burner has stopped working some time ago. Both burners were on a low setting as I was simmering pasta sauce and just warming water as I was later going to boil it for the noodles. I was in my living room when I started to smell something odd. When I approached my kitchen, there was a fire coming from the rear of the cooktop and beneath the three burner knobs. It smelled like an electrical fire. I immediately turned off the burners with my hand wrapped in a towel and started putting out the fire by hitting it with the towel and blowing. The towel caught on fire. I grabbed my fire extinguisher and was ready to spray when finally, it looked like it burned out. The smell in my home is terrible, when I tried to test the lower burner it looked like it was catching on fire underneath the knob as well, so i immediately turned it off and batted it with a towel. Im not sure what happened here. I will make my final payment on this range next month and had the previous range in here since 1977 and that still worked fine. I spent a small fortune on this Jenn-Air, only to have it catch on fire that could have potentially burned my house down.On various web sites including consumer affairs, JDR8895 has many reports of fires. If this is a known problem, why has it not been addressed as a recall? My 9-year old was making soup the day before while I was in the living room. This could of easily happened to her! It is a very dangerous situation to put your consumers in!Whirlpool Corporation contacted the appliance repair company, Columbine Appliances, to inform them that they would only be covering the cost of their visit and not the cost of the parts to be replaced in the range (the ones that caught on fire). Through Columbine Appliance, Whirlpool wanted to inform me that this is not a safety hazard and that it was my fault as I got water in the control knobs. This is not true. If I did, I was not aware and was unable to find any literature about that being a safety hazard or that it could cause a fire. I have found and have forwarded to the CPSC many instances of this exact problem, often when the range was not even in use and are happening to other consumers. I am working on combining the data, contacting the other consumers and have since refused service on the range by Columbine Appliances. Whirlpool only tried to contact me after I left them a message regarding the status of the range and that I had no interest in paying for what I viewed as a defect in their range and a safety hazard. I found a news story of this range going up in flames. Its unbelievable that this company continues to stand behind this product and blame these fires on the consumers actions. I am disabled and have an oxygen machine in my home. I have no desire to have this unit catch on fire again and potentially die, especially since water does, on occasion, end up on cooktops. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Whirlpool oven aqua lift - This oven is the worst in the world. I cant even imagine cooking a turkey in it. After cooking a pizza it took four cleanings and a lot of scrubbing. Self cleaning --- not, you clean and clean and clean. I have had ovens that were not self cleaning and easier to clean than this. Do not buy. And Lowes is no help at all. Run as fast as you can.
Purchased this Dishwasher on Feb. 28, 2015. In June 2016 about a 2 by 3 inch section of the enamel face on the door rusted and fell off above the air vent. After three hours of hold time between Lowes (with the extended warranty) and Whirlpool (their warranty department) it was determined that this was not covered by either warranty as it was beyond the date of the 1-year mfg warranty and was not covered by the extended warranty (it was only a cosmetic issue). As these calls took place over a matter of 2 days, it was interesting that between day 1 and day 2, Whirlpool had issued a statement that no rust repairs would be covered under any warranty repair - regardless, unless it affects the functionality of the dishwasher. In other words, they KNOW this is an issue with this model and are doing nothing to fix the problem. I must say that the folks at Lowes were most helpful; cannot say the same for the folks at Whirlpool. I do not think I will trust their products again.
I purchased both the Cabrio washer and dryer because my dryer stopped working, it was old, and I knew that soon the washer would too, and wanted to modernize my set -- it was my moms old set. I was thrilled to get it delivered and should have had the delivery man from Lowes take it right back, when he told me they had just come from picking up one from another lady who was thoroughly dissatisfied with hers.Well, it didnt take too many washings for me to understand why that lady was upset! I really wish I had done the same thing! EVERY load of dark clothes have to be wiped off to get off the disgusting wet lint thats all over the clothes! Thats been going on since DAY 1! In every load, the clothes do not get completely wet and I thought I had combated that issue by having a pitcher of water always available to pour onto the load, so the sensor will add more water... That doesnt work, I now see!!! I just noticed last night lots of wet lint was on my fabric shower curtain liner, and I was thoroughly upset! I just never feel as though anything I wash gets clean. I truly wish I had come across this site BEFORE I purchased my set, and I would never have done so. Is there ANYTHING that can be done for people who have purchased these horrible appliances?
I bought three Whirlpool appliances (fridge, gas dryer and washing machine) from Abt in June 2012, delivered in July 2012. The fridge has not cooled from the moment we plugged it in and because I am out of state from Abt (IL), I have to deal directly with Whirlpool. According to both the Whirlpool customer service rep and her supervisor, if a product is defective from the start, Whirlpools policy is to try and repair it until they determine it to be scrap and only then will they replace/refund. I find this policy appalling since I paid for a good working product, from a company Consumer Reports rates very highly, but was shipped a defective one. Now, I have had two service visits, the second because according to Whirlpool the first technician did not perform the correct service. I have been told not to put anything valuable into my freezer for 5-7 days because most likely I have a coolant leak and the fridge is bad. This is terrible customer service and instead of fixing their error which is the purpose of having customer service, they are quickly building a reputation for a terrible product and terrible service. Good customer service would be replacing the defective fridge as it is clearly their manufacturing issue, taking the item back to their warehouse, repairing it if possible and selling it as reconditioned for a discount. I am noting my suggestion in case any Whirlpool representatives read this website. Another interesting item to note is the gas dryers absorb air from the environment around them so if you do any painting (full room or touch ups), the clothes that come out of the dryer may have a burnt/gas smell for up to 7 days. I am still waiting to hear back from the Whirlpool technician as to my burnt smell problem/resolution, but was told this from a separate service representative so I thought I would pass it on.
Whirlpool Refrigerator Freezer WRF560SEYB01. Purchased the Whirlpool Refrigerator Freezer in 2012 at Sears. Ran okay for 2 years. Bottom freezer door came off the track. Called Sears. Sent out repairman for $200 to replace the door. He did not check the ice buildup on back of freezer. Next problem, severe ice buildup, loud noise. Used hair dryer to melt ice and took the blower fan out of freezer. Solid ice on all the blowing fans and found a chunk of solid ice. Freezer no longer made the noise until the ice built up again. Now, it continues to build up and we have to use the hair dryer every two weeks. A refrigerator should last at least 10 years. This model doesnt even warrant a rating of any kind.
We purchased 6 six appliances for our home just over one year ago. The initial problem with the washing machine literally took ten home visit to resolve with the final solution being total replacement. Far too many days away from work. The laundry appliances have a loud beeping noise that goes off with the slightest contact, annoying and designed to be eliminated or muted. Today we discovered that the water filter in the fridge is single sourced at over $50 with shipping, which seems usurious at best. Will look elsewhere for the next house/purchase and NEVER buy from this company, including their other brands...Kitchenaid, Maytag, etc.
The shelves in the newer units are plastic not glass with metal and they rip/break holding heavy contains like gallons of milk, and they are more expensive to replace. I just wish they would go back to building things like in the old days. My last refrigerator lasted 20 years. Ive had this one a year paid twice the price and already had to replace shelves and trays for it..
Never buy a Whirlpool water heater. Theyre junk and they dont honor warranties. NO wonder theres a lot of bad reviews. Im one of those suckers. You would think Whirlpool would do a better job. But the blessing in all this I wont have to deal with Whirlpool again. Including washer and dryer, ref, stove, dishwasher and etc.
This company should be avoided at all costs. Purchased 2 Whirlpool dishwashers in 2018 and in less than 2 year the top dish rack glide rail front wheel broke off causing the rack to drop down and render the dishwasher unusable. Warranty was one year and I went online only to notice that the OEM factory replacement part(s) are now made out of stainless steel (or aluminum). I also noted that the parts were made prior to 2015 (date on the video and other vendor sites) Which is a good 2 years prior to my purchasing of this product. This means that they obviously knew there was an issue but continued to produce and sell them with known faulty parts well after they realized at least 2 plus years when you consider that they would have had to re-tool, redesign and send to production prior to the product release date.So it looks like they have continued to sell the product knowing fully well they were defective and did so just to sell replacement parts or to use up existing parts inventory. Either way this means this company has no scruples and does not stand behind their product. Another stain on the reputation of products made in China! Shame on you Whirlpool!
This is truly a piece of junk! My water heater is 2 1/2 years old and the pilot light will not stay on. Was told that I needed a thermal coupler and paid $30 for shipping. Installed it and still the pilot light will not stay on. Was told again that I needed to replace the main control. Another $30 for shipping. Had that installed and the pilot light stayed on but no hot water. The light was blinking 4x (temperature too hot). WHAT!!? ALL I GOT WAS COLD WATER! Now I was told I need to replace the temperature sensor and they wanted another $30! I told them to I was going to junk it and buy a different brand.
DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL! I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator 5 years ago. In June I had to have a new thermostat put in because the refrigerator would not stay cold. The food in the freezer would defrost and then freeze, defrost and then freeze. I had to throw all of the food out. Two weeks ago the refrigerator was making a groaning noise so I looked in the freezer and the temperature was up to 30 degrees. The ice cream was soft, the bread and buns that I had in the freezer were defrosting and small things like crab cakes had also started to defrost. Eventually the temperature went back down to zero.So I called out the repairman AGAIN! He told me this is normal that the freezer goes up to 30 degrees to defrost the freezer and the groaning noise I heard had to do with the Freon. It cannot be normal for food to freeze, defrost and freeze again. I called their customer service and their representative, Jasmine, basically told me all she could do for me was to schedule a service call. Really? I just had the repairman out the day before. I am concerned about food safety with a refrigerator that fails to keep food at the proper temperature.
Bought a side by side whirlpool refrigerator last year. Door seal has come unglued so the door doesnt close unless press seal back in Every time we open the door. For the expense I would expect the door seal to last longer than a year.
I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio a few months ago. Every time we do a load of laundry, the clothes are not getting cleaned. Dark colored clothing, including grey clothing, comes out of the washer with white residue, streaked all over the clothes. We have to rub the residue into the clothes to make it go away. If we attempt to dry it and do not get the residue scrubbed off the fabric, when the clothes get dried, there are white streaks in the clothes. This is extremely frustrating. We spend a lot of time getting the residue rubbed into the fabric every time we do a load of laundry. The local appliance store has told us that perhaps we are using too much soap. We have used nothing but the high efficiency soap, as recommended by Whirlpool, and have reduced the amount of soap per their suggestion. It is now to the point where we are using hardly any soap at all, in the hopes that we would not have to spend 30 minutes working on the clothes after every load. That has not worked. The white residue is still all over the clothes, and since we are using less soap, I dont think our clothes are actually getting cleaned. When we wash a load of whites, they arent getting cleaned at all, even when we use bleach. In fact, when I compare brand new undergarments with recently bought undergarments that have been washed a few times, the ones that have been washed a few times are noticeably different in color, they are actually starting to turn grey in color.I have used Affresh in the washing machine, per the manufacturers suggestion, numerous times. We had thought maybe that was the problem. But even the load right after the Affresh treatment leaves the white residue or does not get the clothes cleaned. This washing machine was close to $700.00, and I feel that for that amount of money, I should be able to expect clean clothes. I have never had a problem with a Whirlpool product before, so I had no qualms about purchasing this washing machine. At first, I thought maybe it just needed to get broken in, that it would stop leaving the residue after it had been used a few times. However, that has not been the case. I have tried everything I can think of to improve the performance of this washing machine, but nothing helps. When I contacted the local appliance store to complain, they suggested I cut back on the soap. I told them that I had tried that and it didnt work. They told me to use Affresh, I told them I did that. I asked them if they would take the washing machine back; let me trade it in for something else. I would even be willing to get a cheaper washing machine, I just wanted something that worked. They told me they couldnt do that. Even though I was still under warranty, unless it was broke, they couldnt do anything, and even then, all they could do would be to try to fix it. They couldnt take it back and give me a different washing machine. The experience I have had with this washing machine is the worst experience I have ever had with an appliance. I had always thought of Whirlpool as a trusted brand for appliances, but if this washing machine is any indication of how they now makes appliances, I will never buy another one of their shoddy products again; and you can guarantee I will be telling my friends, family, and coworkers not to buy Whirlpool products either.
I purchased a Whirlpool duet front load washer 1/2013 new from Lowes. In 5 yrs it is my 2nd washer of Whirlpool. After 2 1/2 yrs, the bearings have gone out, also every time I run the cleaning cycle, water leaks out under the washer. My boyfriend looked the parts to fix the washer, since I called Lowes concerning the warranty and its out. Cost to repair, just in parts would be around $400, I paid a lot of money for a product to last only 2 1/2 yrs. Such a lack of quality in workmanship. With these price, there should be better quality. Do not purchase a whirlpool. 2 washers for them in 5 yrs is not a great track record.
