Worst appliance of any kind that I have ever used. Has only on/off button, in effect. Wastes water. There is no option to change anything once cycle has begun. No soaking. Occasionally, the machine simply decides to stop and drain itself so that you can start all over again!! No idea how long cycle is. Nearly done? No idea. No matter what temp or how much detergent or how much water, the clothes are not clean. The lid locks and so there is no way to know whats going on. I suspect there is very little water during rinse cycle. All of the whirlpool appliances are similarly horrible. Washer is the WORST. Shame on you Made in America.

Cabrios have an inherent F1 error problem, The company had an initial recall and fixed it once, but problem reoccurred about 14 months later. Company declined to fix it. If there is any type of lemon law on appliances, this would apply. I would not recommend this washer.

Bought a stainless steel Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer in 2011. I purchased an extended warranty from Lowes (4) years, and still have another year left on it. Im constantly having to mop up puddles that form under the right front of the refrigerator. I read someone elses review with the same issue along with a sheet of ice forming in the bottom of the freezer and having to chip it out so the freezer drawer will close! Im calling the warranty company today.

We purchased Whirlpool Gold Accubake, double ovens (gas) in 2005. Since then, we have experienced identical failures (8 to date) during the self-cleaning cycle in which the high temperature burns out the thermal fuse of the ovens. This requires two Sears technicians to repair the unit (it requires two technicians to pull the oven out as the fuse location is in the back of the unit) and leaves us without use of both ovens for approximately 2 weeks (scheduling parts delivery and technicians through Sears home repair is not an expedient process). After checking other consumer product websites, it has become clear to me that there is a known design defect with these ovens in which the thermal fuse is not adequately insulated from the high temperatures during self clean; it therefore trips and burns out during the self-clean cycle. While not having access to ovens for about two weeks/year on average may sound acceptable to Sears, the reality is that the problem has escalated in frequency since purchase. In 2013, we are going on our third repair of the same problem (that makes 6 weeks of non-usable oven time in one year) and Sears will not consider replacing the unit, despite: 1) our obvious dissatisfaction with a lemon unit, 2) a well documented history of the defect with this particular Whirlpool oven and 3) an ongoing and escalating repair cost to Sears (it is under their extended warranty so the repair cost is on them although we did pay for this service up front on our appliances).I would stay away from not only Whirlpool appliances but also Sears as there doesnt seem to be any regard for the customer experience and taking care of a product problem (the right way) with a known defect. Sears has an opportunity to make this problem go away quite easily and retain a customer - fix the problem permanently or just replace the defective unit. Unfortunately, my experience to date with Sears standing behind the products they sell provides me with little confidence that either will happen.

This complaint is a follow-upon the last entry I submitted a week ago. I complained that my Whirlpool washing machine tears holes in clothes, and makes wrinkles that are almost impossible to iron out. Reading that several customers had similar complaints, I was encouraged to call Whirlpool. Whirlpool stated that they had no widespread complaints on this machine. Well, to make a long story short, Whirlpool came out and we paid the repairman $85 to look at our machine and tell us that nothing was wrong with the machine. So, I guess Im stuck with a worthless machine. BEWARE! Never buy a WHIRLPOOL!!!

My landlord replaced our old Whirpool topload washer with a Whirlpool HE topload machine last year. Looks sleek, lots of settings BUT IT DOES NOT GET CLOTHES CLEAN - not on any setting, not if loaded as recommended or under-loaded, not if I use more or less detergent, and not if I follow all the tips for getting rid of residue. This machine so under-performs I have to spot clean my clothes AFTER I was them. And were not talking deep dirt or grime here, or things that need special treatment, Just ordinary dirt dirt, to which the machine adds gray streaks of dirty water residue. Thank God I didnt buy this turkey for myself -- I will NEVER buy one of these machines. I did two small rugs today and they came out dingier than they went in. These machines should be recalled. If I could give it less than one star, I would.

I am so flustered I do not know if we should replace it again or buy a new refrigerator, I can guarantee we will not be buying another Whirlpool. Their part runs about $50 but how do we know that is not going to go out again?

I purchased a Whirlpool over the range microwave (model #YWMH31017AS-1) in April 2013, and had it installed in August of same year. It worked fine up until November 2014 - just over one year later. Everything on it works, except for the most important feature - IT DOESNT HEAT ANYTHING UP. Doesnt matter how long you set the timer for - the contents come out stone cold! I called Whirlpools 1-800 number and was told that because I did not purchase the extended warranty, I was responsible for all parts and labor costs. I find this completely unacceptable! I have had cheap $70 microwaves that have lasted 15-20 years. I will never buy another Whirlpool product, and am telling everyone I know to do the same!

I bought a top of the line Whirlpool front load washing machine (WFW97HEDW0) and drier with my new construction house. After a few months the washing machine began making a loud, banging noise during the spin cycle. Then about a month before the 1 year was up the unit broke and dumped all the water in the drum into the catch pan it was installed on. I called for service and someone showed up in about 3 days. The tech opened the unit and found that the plastic/composite drum the spin unit was contained in split in half all the way around. The tech exclaimed he had never come across this issue and would report in what he found but that he did not have the part and it would most likely be a whole new unit but that its up to whirlpool to make the call. I would find out that whirlpool had decided that the unit can be fixed and they have ordered the part and would call to schedule the repair.A week went by, with no word. I called warranty service company, Via Services, and they tell me that the part is on back order and that it would be two more weeks before it would come in. Now were looking at being without a washing machine for a month. I communicate this to the builder and they somehow get whirlpool to come out a week earlier than they said they could. The day came for the repair and two techs take nearly 8 hours to repair the unit (how is this efficient?).After the repair the unit ran with an odd noise that I attributed to the way it was stacked. A month goes by and two days after the 30 day repair warranty I go to do a load of laundry and the unit turns on but wont run. I called for warranty work because it was clearly not repaired sufficiently. I schedule a tech visit which is for a week after. The day come and the tech says he cant fix the unit without charging me for the repair because it is now out of warranty and if I have the extended warranty then I need to set that up with the extended warranty group. I send him away because I had just paid for the extended warranty. I called whirlpool for the extended warranty work and they schedule a repair contractor to come out in 3 days. The repair contractor calls me directly to confirm if the unit is side by side or stacked. I let them know that the units are stacked and they say they cant repair it because its a two tech job and they dont have enough techs. They send me back to talk to whirlpool. Whirlpool then notifies me that because its stacked I have to either unstack it myself or hire someone to unstack it for me. Well, I cant unstack the unit by myself and why should I have to pay someone to unstack it when thats what the unit was designed for? At this point I am going back and forth with the builder to get a refund so I can replace the unit. I will forever steer clear of any whirlpool or subsidiary products. The products are flimsy and the service is no better.

On April 10, I bought a Whirlpool washing machine with a sensor. My clothes do not come clean. The dirty spots are still visible. I had three technicians come to check it out and after they just made the machine start, make the water run, and make the water empty, they confirmed that it was working normally. I have insisted on having someone come and just do a small wash and they did not agree because they are not there to wash clothes. I went back to Leon’s where I bought it and the saleslady told me that she could not do anything about it. I have been dealing with the customer service and the person has tried three times to get someone to come and check the washer properly and was insisting in front of me that I wasnt at all satisfied with the performance of the washer and still confirmed that the washer was working fine. They keep saying that there are no parts that need to be fixed or exchanged, so that means there is nothing wrong with the washer. I have tried all different kind of soaps. They were suggesting that I use Tide, which was the best performing soap. I used Tide or Purex - I even tried half a bottle of bleach - and it would not clean my clothes. The problem is the clothes are not turning, they just hardly moved with water that just keeps the clothes humid. I tried putting in more water with a bucket and when I push the start button, it would drain out all the water that it did not put itself. Ive called the consumer protection and they have advised me to take legal actions against the company and the store that sold it to me. They confirmed that whatever we buy, the article has to do the work it was made for; so the performance of a washing machine is to wash clothes. I even took a three-year prolonged warranty and the store told me that once the one-year warranty with the company has expired, then they could help me with sending their technicians and see what the problem was and they would take it from there. I have an account with the store and I have eighteen months to pay it off. So I was wondering if the saleslady did sell me an appliance saying that it was very good and that I should not have any problems with it. Can I take steps going against her for false advertisement? It’s a month now that my clothes are not washed properly and I need to rewash them by hand before putting them out to dry. The consumer protection office has been telling me that the store should be the one to finalize the problem with the company, but it seems that not even they can come to an agreement. Whatever steps I will take against the company and the store, what are my chances of getting my washer replaced? Whirlpool has been advised about me taking them to court and I got permission to do so. Actually, they invited me to go ahead and do what I thought was right. I do not have the money or time to waste on something that maybe I will have no chance to get anywhere. All I want is to have it replaced with another washer that would be more performing. If anyone has had the same problem and had their case solved, maybe it will give me hope to go on. Please, what is the best and fastest way for me to get this problem resolved? I do need a washing machine. I do need to wear clean clothes. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I have a roughly 2-year-old 30 Whirlpool electric range that has just got out of warranty 4 or 5 months ago. It has been a great stove up until the last couple of months. Our dishes always come out completely clean and without spotting. I dont like having to get down into the machine and clean out the filter/trap, so I pre-rinse everything that goes into the machine, so that might help. Regardless, this machine does an excellent job. This is the Whirlpool Gold Series bought in 2013. It has numerous settings, such as delay, varying cycles, air dry, heat dry, etc. All the features work as expected, but like most owners probably do, I leave it set on the same settings all the time. It does what I want and does it very quietly. This is a standard, under-counter, full-sized machine. The outside of the dishwasher is stainless and the inside has a plastic lining. The controls are at the top of the front door, so that leaves the front completely clean-looking. Love it.

I purchased a Whirlpool Microwave on 9/21/10 from Hamilton-Bryan in Wichita Falls, Texas. I had a small fire in my microwave on 9/19/11, due to a faulty mica board. This was replaced by Mr. Bobs in Wichita Falls, TX, under the warranty. Then on 1/9/12, the microwave would not warm anything. I called Mr. Bobs again, and they said the transformer was out. I called Whirlpool, and was told by Yvonne that Whirlpool would replace the part only, with no labor, but Mr. Bobs was closed, and to call back in the morning, so this authorization could be set up with Mr. Bobs. I called back and there was no record of my call with Yvonne. I talked to a supervisor Rachel in Tennessee. She put me on hold for a while and finally said she found Yvonnes note to authorize the part. I explained to each person I talked to that I was dissatisfied with Whirlpool. I believe I have a defective microwave. I would like my money back, or a new microwave. I believe the defective mica board is related to the defective transformer. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I have used Whirlpool most of my adult life. I have used them since the 1970s. I currently have a Whirlpool refrigerator, washer, and dryer. A similar situation like this occurred when I bought a Samsung washer. I was dissatisfied, and Samsung refunded my money, and I bought a Whirlpool washer to replace Samsung. I will not be satisfied with this situation, until the microwave is replaced. Thank you for your concern and attention to this matter.

Bought a Whirlpool Gas Range model WFG530S0ES0 in Nov 2015. Eleven months into owning it the oven wouldnt heat up. Turns out the motherboard and wiring harness needed replaced. Since it was within a year of purchase, parts and labor were covered. Dec 2018 the same darn thing happened. I called Whirlpool and they basically said, Tough luck, lady. Was I surprised, not in the least. I talked to a supervisor who said that they dont have a single complaint on their Gas Ranges. Did I believe that, not in the least. Whirlpool finally agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor. Whirlpool supervisor said that equipment failure occurs. I said theres a difference between reasonable equipment failure and unreasonable equipment failure. I purchased a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side Refrigerator on June 15, 2013. The freezer works fine but the refrigerator does not feel that cold and when I put a thermometer in there, it reads 42-43 deg although the refrigerator is set at 37 deg. The tech was just here and told me to put a thermometer in a glass of water and read it again. His thermometer read 46 deg when reading a bottle in the door although he explained that he had had the door opened for a while during his visit. He said his reading of the bottle upon opening the door was 36 deg. I do not believe that. I just measured some bottled water temperature and it was 48 deg. I have a hard time believing the temp went up 12 degrees and he has been gone for a half hour. My food is cold but not like you expect from a refrigerator. My bottled water and soda, etc., are not very cold. The worst is the water dispenser. That water is barely cooler than tap water. There is almost no difference. The water temperature has been in the 60s when Ive measured it. The tech says the first glass wont be cold (have never had that with any other refrigerator) but even if you get the second and third glasses of water, they arent any colder... maybe a couple of degrees. If anyone else is having this problem and Whirlpool will do nothing, then Im interested in legal action.

The size of the oven is great, has plenty of room to cook lots and/or large amounts. The range, works really good too. Its a glass top range. The glass is very durable, I find it does not scratch easily. Cleans up well by just using a good glass top cleaner. Do not purchase Whirlpool smart freestanding gas range model number WFG975HOHV. I purchased the range and the refrigerator around Christmas of 2018. The first time I turned the oven on to make Christmas dinner the carbon monoxide detector alarm went off. I have tried to use the oven twice after that and the same thing happened. The oven also never gets to 350. I spoke to Whirlpool who said to unplug the oven. They stated a technician would be sent with a carbon monoxide detector and to conduct repairs. The technician came and could not get the oven to 350 and the carbon monoxide detector alarmed. He stated he has to order parts and return to complete repairs. This is a brand new oven that I could not use because the carbon monoxide alarmed and the oven was not heating to 350 because it keeps restarting every few minutes. So here I am not able to use the oven for over a month and waiting for parts for a brand new range. Do not waste your money on Whirlpool products. Also the customer service has no empathy knowing their products are defective.

I have been unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer since I purchased it from Lowes. I should have looked online before I bought it and then I would not have made the mistake of buying it. The washer leaves soap deposits on the clothes and sometimes leaves a colored soil. It has ruined numerous clothing by tearing out hems of towels and wash cloths and tore a hole in a favorite sweater. I prefer an agitator in my washer. From what I read, I will soon begin to have other major problems and then I will replace it, but not with a Whirlpool.

Wish we had gone online to check all the complaints otherwise we would have NEVER bought a Whirlpool model #EB9FVHLVS. Only 3 years old. First repair call to fix a manufacturers faulty grommet manifested by leaking in the bottom freezer portion. Just outside the warranty - did not purchase extended. Now I know why retailers recommend the extended. My sister overheard the repairman call in the product to his contact at Platinum Appliance Service Inc., and he made direct reference to the model number in the category of Whirlpool products known to have this specific design flaw, and that the product was never recalled but customers were directed to purchase a repair kit to fix the problem. Apparently this became a very well documented and repeated incident within the 1-2 year purchase date of these products and models with the known factory installed defect were still sent out to retailers at a reduced cost with no reference, warning or attention to the factory defect. Now 4 months after the first call we have to call in for another repair issue because our light in both compartments and the motor shuts off for hours at a time. We lost about $80 in meat products, so now were afraid to keep any costly items in the freezer because we cant afford to replace a $100 of thawed products every week on top of groceries already bought!!! It seems as though Whirlpool is gleefully generating business for appliance repair while making more than one hole in the consumers wallet.

I bought my home four years ago with a Whirlpool 50-gallon water heater in it. It was installed in December 2002. Well, my hot water went out. After being told I could go to Lowe’s because they would supply the part free of charge because there was a recall on the thermocouple unit. I went to Lowes. No luck there. They told me they didnt carry the whole replacement unit and I would need a number from Whirlpool. The guy at Lowes was very nice but said I was the fifth person to come in this week.I called Whirlpool and was told because I was not the homeowner that had purchased the item that there was no warranty on the product and that I would have to pay for the part. It cost $34.98 plus shipping, which was another $30.00 because I had it shipped overnight. Two days with no hot water was enough. Well, I got the part and hopefully there is nothing wrong with it as it was shipped in a box twice as big as needed with no packing what so ever.I just got off the phone with them again but this time spoke with a supervisor that told me there was no need for packing. There was no part of the entire assembly that could have been damaged. Will I ever buy anything with the Whirlpool name on it? Not only no, but ** no! Will I tell everyone I know about this? You bet. I am also going to write to Lowes and ask why they are continuing to sell inferior appliances such as these. I have to tell one realtor friend about this and just placed a call to another to tell him. The first had no idea that appliances that were marked still under warranty did in fact have no warranty at all if its a Whirlpool. I may write a letter to the editor of our local newspaper and hope that they will publish it to inform anyone reading the paper about these inferior products.

I purchased a $950 whirlpool refrigerator from Lowes in Tucson. 2 months after the 1 yr warranty expired, I paid $450 in repair bills to have it fixed. After 9 months of visits by the repairman and loss of hundreds of dollars in spoiled food, they deemed my fridge unrepairable. Then Whirlpool called me and said they would exchange my fridge for a better one for $688. My loss is now up to approx. $2000 counting spoiled food.

We bought this washing machine in 2013 from Plass, an appliance store in Chicago that is now out of business. The top loading plastic lid that holds the glass piece snapped and broke. I called the company, and they said that there is not a recall but that I could order parts. They put me on hold, and 10 minutes later, I was on the phone with a company in Missouri that wanted to sell me a lid for $219.38 plus tax and shipping. I am surprised to see that others are having the same problem and that there are no recalls from Whirlpool!

Its a piece of junk. The only time it will finish a wash and spin dry is when it is empty. Otherwise, it stops and lists an unbalanced error code. I opened up the service panels and found no broken hangers or clothes. There’s no way to bypass the system. I have read of similar issues and of course, its just out of warranty. I assumed the warranty was like other brands but it’s much shorter. What to do? Purchase a washer with dials and not a brain; it will last years. Note that the models without a brain cost far less.

I am concerned that Whirlpool microwaves installed over the stove have extremely faulty doors. I have two homes in which I have Whirlpool microwaves, and both have huge cracks in the door and small pieces inside the doors beginning to fall out. It deeply concerns me that it will cost more to replace the doors than to replace the microwaves. I have always believed in Whirlpool appliances but now feel that I will have to change brands. My question is “What in the world is wrong with your doors that they crack so easily and the company holds no responsibility with such faulty work?” I would simply think that this was just a faulty door on my microwave, but I have two that are cracked! This definitely means you have a faulty product.

I purchased a Whirlpool 12-gallon point-of-use water heater as a booster when I was going to get a tankless and when we decided that we didnt need a tankless, I tried to get an RA number through the manufacturer so that the store could give me credit, as it says directly on the water heater, Do not return to store. They said there is nothing that they will do and it cant be returned to the store. So, what am I supposed to do with this water heater now? Before I knew this was going to happen, I purchased a 50-gallon Whirlpool water heater as well. So now, I have the 50-gallon that I have had to replace the element for already and I have only had it for less than a month and a half, and the 12-gallon is just sitting in my garage. Im completely irritated with this company and do not recommend anyone to go with this company! This is the worst customer service!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio set about 5 1/2 years ago. Almost right away the washer made a horrible banging noise when In use... I had purchased a extended warranty so I had the service man out. He replaced something but the washer never acted right. I just about 2 months ago replaced it with a normal washer costing over half of what the Cabrio cost me... and now just a few days ago the dryer followed suit and died. The repair (out of warranty) was going to cost $150.00 and that was just for the part, I had service people out twice for the dryer since it came home with me also. This set was the biggest waste of money I have sadly wasted in my lifetime, is it just that they make things badly these days or the more crap that a machine has on it the crappier it is???

Refrigerator was purchased in March 2015. Icemaker filled the basket two times then never worked properly again. The water would enter the tray, freeze, but never drop the cubes. In order to drop the cubes, we had to unplug the refrigerator for a moment then we would have those few cubes. We used one service company sent by Whirlpool that came 3 times, adjusted temp, and replaced one electrical part. It didnt work. The repairman was going to call for support from Whirlpool to see if anyone else had had this problem. I didnt hear back from him until I called him 1 1/2 weeks later. He basically said there was nothing else he could do. Whirlpool sent out another service company. He replaced 2 electrical parts. They didnt work. We have no choice but to keep having service men come out and try to repair the refrigerator. What happens when the warranty has expired? They are trying to sell me an extended warranty. Give me a break. It would be nice to have a working refrigerator first. I wish I would have read these reviews before I ever bought a Whirlpool. Im 78 and Im still learning. Never again, Whirlpool. Ill spread the news as well because we all work too hard for our money to throw it away on poor products.

Lowes extended warranty does not cover this problem because it is cosmetic; Whirlpool reps say its due to the coastal area where I live and that they cant do anything about it! We just remodeled our kitchen and bought a Whirlpool kitchen suite in May of 2016. The refrigerator is absolutely terrible. I have had a repairman come out and fix the same repair/problem 5 times, a sheet of ice forms beneath the vegetable drawer (We have only owned the refrigerator for 5 months). Each time the repair person has come out it costs me a day of work due to having to wait all day for the repair service that Whirlpool hires out, well be there between 9am and 4pm. This morning I decided to check to see if the sheet of ice is forming again, it is. So I call Whirlpool again.Again, I call Whirlpool and ask if I can just get a new unit; 5 repairs in 5 months on a brand new refrigerator. The reply I get from Whirlpool is always well send someone out to fix it. The unit has to be deemed irreparable or a part has to be replaced multiple times. No parts are being replaced... no one knows how to fix it. I dont understand why a large company like Whirlpool would want people to write bad reviews for their products and customer service. Im extremely irritated with how I have been treated. I just want a refrigerator that works!! DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR!!

We purchased the Whirlpool Double Oven Range model GGG388LXS in April of 2011. The reason we purchased the oven is that we are empty nesters. We almost exclusively use the small top oven. We have streaks between the double glass on the bottom oven. We can not clean it. It is obviously a design flaw. I looked on this site to see if others have the same problem as it is too early to talk to customer service at Whirlpool. How have others fared with this obvious flaw?

Posted the following review of this oven on the Whirlpool website: How did this get 5 stars with so many complaints? Ive only used this oven once since installed last Sunday. It heated my kitchen up at least 3 degrees. I live in the South so evidently its not meant for southern summers. It does look nice but if Id known the fan blows such hot air out of the bottom, I wouldnt have chosen this one. Afraid if I use the self cleaning cycle, it will burn my hard wood floor. Probably why there are many complaints about uneven cooking and long to preheat since all the heat is blowing out of the bottom. I received an email saying it didnt meet their website guidelines and they wouldnt post it. Interesting?!

After 14 years of good service with Whirlpool Duet front load washer dryer
After 14 years of good service with Whirlpool Duet front load washer dryer set, wife chose Whirlpool kitchen appliances as part of a kitchen update project. All matching fridge, range, microwave hood and dishwasher. What a nightmare! The icemaker growls and whines all the time and the dishwasher was broken before being packaged at the manufacturer. A wheel from the middle rack was missing when the dishwasher was opened. It wasnt in the sealed dishwasher nor in the box. So it had to have been broken off before the item was boxed. We called for warranty claim and A-1 Appliance was recommended out of Shreveport, LA. In a few weeks he showed up, looked at the rack for a while and said Ill have to order a new part. I said fine. (How hard can that be? Right?) So here we are 5 months later, unable to use the middle rack because it cant hold any weight with the roller missing. Multiple calls to Whirlpool and A1 and we keep getting promises and runarounds that turn out to be lies. How hard is it to say go to your local Lowes and well authorize them to give to give you a rack from an in-stock dishwasher? Let Lowes wait on the new part! Sounds simple, and any other company would have done that, or told us to return it to Lowes for another one. But NO! Whirlpool just whines about being behind on parts, shorthanded, or lies about the part is in and its A1s problem now.So, today, same story. A1 says they need 2 parts. **! Its one part. Whirlpool says A1 has the needed part. Same old runaround. So, we just replaced our 14 year old washer and dryer with NON Whirlpool units. $2500 more in of appliances that Whirlpool could have gotten, but Im guessing they dont even care about missing and losing sells. They certainly do not care about warranty, parts, quality, customer satisfaction or repeat customers. Never again with Whirlpool! Beware!

We purchased a new Whirlpool Cooker (Model Number YWFE745HOFH2) in June 202
We purchased a new Whirlpool Cooker (Model Number YWFE745HOFH2) in June 2021. Our first disappointment came when we used the Self Clean function to clean the oven. Unlike our previous Whirlpool cooker (which we were very pleased with) this required us to put water into the bottom section of the oven. After the advised time the oven was exactly the same as at the start of the process. For readers of this review I would like to stress that the oven was not excessively soiled. We just wanted to try out the feature. In August my wife dropped a ceramic cup onto the cooker top and the top shattered completely. This, of course, was not the fault of Whirlpool, but we were shocked that the damage was so extensive. A new cooker top was ordered and arrived at the beginning of October (dispatch problems). After each use of the cooker top it has been cleaned with a recommended cleaning product. Today I accidentally allowed a pot of rice to boil over and, although I immediately removed the pot from the cooker top and wiped both the bottom of the pot and the top before continuing, the residue will not come off of the surface. It looks awful! We had our last cooker for over 10 years - if I could afford to I would get rid of this product tomorrow!

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer with the glass lid. This is not a good washer to buy! The clothes do not get clean. Have to set it to bulk to get enough water to even cover clothes. Biggest issue is the lid. I have had to order a new one as it cracked on both sides back by control panel. I took the old lid off and discovered why the lid cracked. I have read many complaints about this same issue and everyone said Whirlpool would do nothing about it or even acknowledge there was a problem. Here is the problem. On each side there is a spring to hold the lid up while in the open position. The lid is plastic. When I tried to push those lid pins down with the lid off they would not go down. The springs are too strong for the plastic. When the lid is down the springs are trying to hold the lid up, so they are pushing against the plastic. Given time the springs win out against the plastic and the lid cracks and breaks. I am just a simple housewife and I figured this out! I hope that every manufacturer that is making glass top lids STOPS making them out of plastic, uses metal instead, uses a spring that is not as strong, or foregoes the current design and comes up with something that is better. It is for certain that I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance!

Whirlpool Water Heater Purchased at Lowes - Like all the others I see on here. I Purchased a Whirlpool water heater at Lowes Model# BFG1H4040T3NOV. Pilot will not stay lit; customer service tells me to replace the thermocouple which did not solve my problem. This is the second time in 2 years same problem. First time it was fixed under warranty but now since it was replaced once it is not eligible for replacement so I now must decide if I want to pay someone to figure out the problem and I must pay to repair it or what I am starting to think is that I will likely junk it and buy a quality unit and be done with the games and run around and just have hot water, which is all I really want. Four years ago, I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator - French doors (ice and water in the door) and freezer bottom drawer. Against everyone but the HH Greggs salesmans advice, I purchased the extended warranty as I had paid a large sum of money for the refrigerator. Within a year, I began experiencing problems with the ice maker. Over the next few years, I had to have it repaired/replaced an additional three times. Add to the whole mess the incompetency of the A & E Repairmen that required at least two visits each time to complete a repair and their inability to arrive during a 9 hour window, I stayed livid about my refrigerator for three long years. Finally, I demanded a replacement refrigerator under the lemon portion of my warranty. After numerous arguments, the warranty company offered me several different makes and models to pick to replace my hunk of junk. Stupidly thinking that my problems were related to one bad unit, I selected another Whirlpool only to have it completely crash a little over one year after acquiring it. I lost the food in it and am having to wait almost a month for the parts to arrive and the repairman to return. According to him, it will have to be completely rebuilt. I will never, never buy another Whirlpool!

I purchased my Whirlpool Gold series french door refrigerator 3 years ago. I bought Whirlpool because it being an American company and a brand I thought I would be pleased with. Wrong! I have had nothing but problems with this refrigerator. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty! Just a year old, my ice maker stopped working. Then, the refrigerator stopped cooling. Circuit boards were replaced, fan motors, etc. over $1500.00 in parts and labor and the entire summer to have it fixed. This past August, ice maker stopped working again. Then, stopped cooling. I am now at week 6 without a functioning refrigerator. While I am thankful I have an extended warranty, through the store that I purchased this refrigerator, I am not thrilled with the amount of time that has passed between each visit and the fact that it is the exact same parts that are once again being replaced. This refrigerator is a LEMON. Do not buy this brand.

I bought my Whirlpool Convection oven in mid August 2019 from Lowes. I have had to call no less than 5 times about my NEW oven which I am extremely remorseful of buying. I am so unhappy with my experience mostly due to my expectation that my new oven would have been able to meet my demanding needs baking and cooking. I would have thought that it would have lasted longer than 4-5 months. The bottom left hinge is faulty which I am told is an undocumented problem for this particular oven. I noticed that it was having a problem when the oven wasn’t quite making a seal. Slowly it got worse until now it makes an initial click then I can open it about 5 to 6 inches and then have to lift it up so that I can open it without making a horrible noise and a dent in the frame. The first time I called was on Saturday Jan 4th. It took me 1 hour to get through to speak to a person. I asked why I couldn’t get a new door to the oven and they told me the hinges have to be installed separately because this model is made to be able to take the door off for cleaning purposes. They set me up for service on Wed Jan 8th between 12 and 4p. I wasn’t as unhappy at this point. I even got a text saying that the appliance company would be coming between 12 and 2. At 12 when I woke up after working nights, I got a message saying that they hadn’t received the part yet and that there would be no point in them coming. I called Whirlpool again and they told me that the part was on backorder and that in fact the part had to be fabricated and it may take up to 10 business days but that they would have the part sent directly to my house. By this stage I am very unhappy.I called back this morning and told the person that I would rather have a new oven or my money back and that my less expensive and less decorative oven that came with my house lasted me 20 yrs. I get a lot of “I’m sorry” and “I apologize” but that doesn’t fix my problem. I also told them that now the frame of the oven is being dented so I am going to have a less than perfect appliance which is no fault of my own. The only info the person could give me is the tracking number of the part they were able to locate which would be coming Fedex.I tracked it and it was due to come no later than Tuesday night. So I called the original service company in my area who told me to call to set up the service time when the part came in. I figured I would get a jump on it and call. They told me that they were all booked up this week and I would have to wait until next week. Do you think that this is how your customers should be treated? I feel as though I am being punished by choosing to buy an appliance from Whirlpool. I then tried calling back to set up an appt with a new company but the wait time was too long. I had just worked nights and needed to get some sleep. I called back this afternoon and again had to explain the whole situation AGAIN. I was able to set up an appt with a different company for Monday between 12 and 4 which happens to be on Martin Luther King day…so I am hoping it is not a mistake.Do you think this is fair treatment for a customer who just bought a brand new oven less than 5 months ago? Would you like this type of service? Would this give you any confidence to buy products from Whirlpool? I don’t believe that I would be able to recommend Whirlpool in good faith. The people who I have talked to have never been rude or disrespectful however, I feel as though my unhappiness is just par for the course. I feel as though it is just my tough luck and “oh well so sorry” instead of the attitude that you want to make everything right as quickly as possible. I ask myself if the problem was the store I chose to buy from? If I should have gone to Sears and bought one of their products or where I went wrong.

I called Whirlpool about the refrigerator that I purchased in June of this year and nothing was done about it. My situation is that the refrigerator scratches very easily. It seems that it gets scratch only by looking at it. This refrigerator is very expensive and I not even done paying for it and this appliance looks awful!! Susan the person that I was chatting with just told me that cosmetic doesnt cover and there is nothing that Whirlpool can do about. It bothers me that paying so much money for something that it is poor quality material.

I purchased a new home and then purchased 4 appliances, all Whirlpool Gold. In less than a year, the stoves electronic ignition and the microwave hood keypad went out. Since they were under warranty, a repairman replaced a bunch of parts and now they are working fine. One month after the refrigerator was out of warranty, the water line to the ice cube maker split about an inch and a half and water would spew out onto the hardwood floor under the unit. We were on vacation for all that month and didnt see any damage until one day there was a puddle in front of the refrigerator. When we pulled it out, we saw that the floor was ruined under the unit, the cabinet next to it black with mold and of course, the line had to be replaced. Whirlpool wasnt interested in the fact that the refrigerator had probably still been under warranty when the split occurred, only that we hadnt reported it before the warranty expired. Next to go was the water seal that goes on the inside of the door of the dishwasher. I was running it about a month after the refrigerator debacle and water came spewing out of the side. The seal had come out and nothing was stopping the water from exiting out the side of the door. Thats 4 for 4 in less than 15 months. I will never buy a Whirlpool product. They couldnt be any worse.

The icemakers Whirlpool has been using for the last couple of years are a PITB. They have diamond shaped ice cubes which are great but, whenever the filter nears the end of its life, the icemaker fill tube freezes up. Occasional freezes up just because. Changing the filter, although the old one supposedly has some life left, may/may not solve the problem. Filling the ice tray with foreign ice for a few days thaws the fill tube and it will generally start up again - maybe. Complete waste of time and energy!

I purchased this Whirlpool washing machine model# WTW4950XW2 and after 10 months of use, it broke down. The repairman fixed it (gear box) and said that the motors and the control boards went bad. I didnt get a weeks use out of it because the motor went bad. He came and fixed the motor and it didnt work once after that. I called Whirlpool up and they sent their serviceman out twice and they didnt do much but reprogram it and both times it didnt do one full cycle. Now they (Whirlpool) are going to put a new control board in and hope it works. Whirlpool wants me to get another years warranty on the machine & charge me $100 and not do anything about all the money I spent going to the laundromat (2 months worth) while this machine was not working. There should be a recall on this machine for replacement & reimbursement of all the time and money lost.

Bought a Whirlpool refrigerator December 2011, it is now 3 yrs. old, keeps shutting itself off. There is nothing under the troubleshooting area of the instructions for this. I called Whirlpool, they said I have to pay a tech to come here and troubleshoot. The warranty is 1 years, so after paying over 1k for an appliance, that gets you 1 year! I try to support American made, but no more Whirlpools here! I have all Whirlpool appliances, but Im guessing they wont last either. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service.

Got a fridge Friday night setup, and was not cooling as of Sunday still. Called Best Buy who we got it through and they sent someone out first thing Monday AM to look at it. Per the Whirlpool agreement, the first year has to get serviced through them. Finally got a hold of their service support to get someone scheduled to come on site. 11 days later was the earliest appointment, and they just expected me to deal with no refrigerator for 11 days. I asked of other options, what wait times would be after Whirlpool comes out in 11 days to deem it broken and they repeatedly said I cant give you any what if answers for anything. Were no help at all and just expected me to figure out things for at least 11 days on a brand new 3 day old machine that is broken. The absolute WORST customer experience ever and refuse to buy from them again. Thankfully, Best Buy has a return window so were completely returning it and going with a different brand.

There is oil on my floor under the washer and Rent-A-Center doesnt care and its under their Benefits plus program. They were to send off both washer and dryer last time and had no paperwork where washer was sent off at all. It has ruined a lot of my clothes with spots and I used the Tide pods. Stopped using them cause they were not working. I will never buy another Whirlpool product or appliance. Water pump went out in one year... Why would you not care about your customers... We purchased a side by side Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer in June 2011 and have had nothing but problems with this piece of crap appliance. Ice maker has been repaired 3 times, water line clogged twice because of freezing and thawing. Now the machine only cools both sides to 45 degrees F. I am having a repair person come out on Monday to tell me what is wrong but I am so upset with the poor workmanship of this product I dont want to put another dime into the repair. We paid $1100 on this and have paid at least $600 in repairs over the past 4 years!! I agree with all of the other comments on the poor manufacturing choices. We had a GE prior to this and it lasted 10 years but we had the same issues. Repairing it every few years. I am not sure what brand to purchase next. If anyone has a suggestion I would be open to it.

This Whirlpool, two door, refrigerator with ice maker & water, replaced a very poor quality 'LG' refrigerator which had stopped working. The company, "LG" was not interested in learning what the problem was but was only interested in making sure we understood the fee for an "LG" repair person to come out. The set fee was a minimal of $150.00 without any repairs. We decided to toss the LG and went to our local Home Depot and purchased our Whirlpool that same day, on sale! Our Whirlpool has been working great, without any problems and the fresh, filtered water is always refreshingly cool. We would very highly recommend Whirlpool! It seems their products always work very well!

My $1800 French door refrigerator is only 20 months old and the ice maker has quit working. They sent out a repair person 5 times and replaced parts three of those times. Now they are saying it is unrepairable and are refunding my contract fee of $345 and leaving me with a broken ice maker. When the problem started it was making ice just not dumping it. Now it doesnt even get water. Throughout this all, two months, I have had to constantly call them to find out our next move. They say someone will call me in 2-3 days but they never do. One of The last people I talked to said, Well you can still keep food in it. I dont feel that is reasonable considering I bought a refrigerator with the ice maker in it. I finally called Whirlpool corporate instead of the service contract people to see if anything could be done and was told someone would call me back in 2-3 business days. Well its been a week and big surprise - have not heard from anyone. It is looking like we will have to purchase yet another refrigerator in less than two years. The service people I talked to were rude and really didnt seem to want to help at all. I believed when I purchased this Whirlpool product that they were a reputable company. Sorry to say that is not the case at all. I dont know if the refrigerator is really unrepairable or if they just gave up trying to find the issue. Seems hard to believe a basically new appliance cant be repaired.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio washer. It was great for almost year. After that it has been nothing but trouble. The body of the washer has rust coming through the paint and large areas that is so rusted that the paint has chipped off completely. A washer is expected to deal with water and not rust through the body. I have a 10-year old Ford truck without a speck of rust. Dont they undercoat? The circuit board has had to be replaced because of rust. I have to take several Q-tips and go under the cover to remove all the rust if I dont it gets rust stains on my clothes, which is impossible to remove. The customer service is non existent. They have left me on the line for over 40 minutes. I hang on only because it would be another hour or so of my time to get someone to answer. I was without a washer for a month while waiting for parts. Why dont they have parts for their products? I had to slop my way too dirty laundry mats 3 times a week as I do 2 to 3 loads a day.My washer is downstairs and stops and gives me the unbalanced message even when its not, running up and down the stairs several times to complete one load. I also get the F51 message for no perceivable reason. The extra rinse button only works 1/2 the time. This was an expensive washer ($1,000.00) and I feel that I deserve my money back. They are knowingly making an inferior product.

I have had my washer dryer set for only 3 years and have all the problems that have already been posted. Whirlpool has no recall on this washer (Cabrio) and does not plan on helping out anybody in any way. Their solution is pay for everything out of pocket or buy their one year warranty for ironically the price of what a new motor, and any of the other common items that are breaking would cost. And this is only good for ONE year. With the history of this company I would expect this to last at least ten years or longer before we start discussing replacing anything. I also had a Maytag that I had a problem with and did not get anywhere with that either. Whirlpool/Maytag, you need to stand behind your product. Your name is not going to get you anywhere nowadays. This blog has a spot about legal representation. If you can help me, please contact me.

I have had too many problems with the thermocouple beginning about two years after I purchased the water heater in 2003. Whirlpool keeps replacing the thermocouple, but I have to pay for the plumber to come out and repair the unit. This runs me about $180 each time. The thermocouple has burned out three times since September of this year. The plumber didnt charge me anything the second time it went out. But it went out for the 3rd time today and he recommended that I replace the unit. Of course, it is out of warranty and Whirlpool was happy to tell me that I could purchase a new thermocouple at my own expense from them. I have paid for this water heater three times over with repairs. Whirlpool knows that there is a defect with the design of the water heater. There is no way that a regular consumer can get inside the water heater to clean it. I will never purchase any Whirlpool products ever! I advise anyone reading this to follow suit.

I moved into an apartment in July 2010 after closing in May 2010. My microwave by Whirlpool stopped heating a few days after the one year warranty was over. This appliance was of April 2009 series. My builder doesnt take responsibility and Whirlpool asks for huge service visits and repair costs that leaves me with no choice but to replace, and that too with the same product. This will cost me about $600-700 including installation and warranty, etc. I strongly believe that consumers should be protected against such liabilities. I have to pay for the product, the removal of the faulty one, installation of the new one plus taxes, plus transportation etc., only because Whirlpool sold it and the builder bought it (they are also hand in hand with these suppliers and dont bother after occupancy). God save us from such eventualities and undesirable expenses which hurt. No one should buy such items.

The refrigerator itself is noisy but thats not the problem. Most of my low ratings are because of the ice maker. Instead of being in the freezer it is up in the refrigerators area. We purchased a brand new Cabrio Washer and Dryer in 2008 from Lowes. The salesman at the time suggested I purchase the extended warranty. It was because of the state of the art controls in the machines that could cost plenty if they had to be replaced. I was a bit skeptical at first. After several weeks, I returned to the store and purchased a 4-year extended warranty. This was probably the best money I expended in some time. In less than three years of ownership, I have had to use the warranty twice for the same faulty part (water control valve) that the repairperson told me was problematic. Then after reading the horror stories that consumers submitted to this website, I felt compelled to voice my opinion as well. I have been a die hard Whirpool product fan my entire life because they used to manufacture quality, long lasting products. I am moving soon. And I will have to purchase new appliances for the kitchen. But they will not be manufactured by any Whirlpool company. Shame on you Whirlpool!

We have had this Refrigerator for 3 years in December of 2016. To date, we have had to call a repairman (in February 2016) to replace a circuit board on the back of the refrigerator. That took 4 days, as the company sent the repairman the wrong parts. After that $300 repair, which we got at a discount because, the repairman felt bad that the company actually sent the wrong part. Since then we have taken it apart ourselves for several reasons: The freezer compartment filled up with a layer of ice and started to melt all over the floor, shutting the refrigerator off, (which then forced us to borrow coolers to store the food) until it could be repaired. The drain tube was completely blocked and in order to fix this problem, the tube had to be taken out and modified, according to the Internet videos we then watched. In order to make all of these repairs, the door, the shelves and baskets have to be removed, which is definitely not an easy thing to do at all. There are so many hidden screws and tabs that must be manipulated with tools and by hand to remove the doors, shelves and trays just to get where you need to be in order to make these repairs. With each repair, the ice maker and water dispenser started having problems, because, each time the refrigerator has to be shut down, it takes hours for it to re-set itself. Luckily my husband had the tools necessary, with videos on the Internet to assist us. However, once the first problem started, it was a snowball effect, literally. ALL of these problems have been identified by the manufacturer, however, nothing has been done. VERY POOR DESIGN!

Two days after the one year warranty ran out on our front load washer it started making a terrible noise. Of course the Whirlpool warranty was no longer in effect. The good news I was sold an extended warranty from Nebraska Furniture Mart. Called the Service Provider and was told they will only service the washer if it is not working. After several more calls they scheduled a service call in 10 days. We are a family of four, yes no washer is a problem. Finally the technician showed up and said the main bolt holding the drum assembly in place had broken off. He would have to order the bolt. It is now on backorder for 3 weeks. No washing machine for 4 people and now nearly a month is a pain. Not only did my calls to Whirlpool do nothing but the calls to the third party Warranty Company have been very frustrating. My call to the salesperson at NFM was very helpful, but didn’t help get our washer fixed. This is our second and last set of Whirlpool laundry pairs in less than four years.

All burners would light intermittently. Every time I had trouble, I called the service tech from Homestead Lumber, where I purchased the product from and he could never find anything wrong. Product would work fine whenever he came out. Finally, it acted up in May of this year while the product was still under warranty and while the service tech was here. A disaster from start to finish. I would give it zero stars if possible. Purchased from Home Depot online in September, 2020. The first delivery was scheduled for October 11, 2020 at 7am on a Sunday. I spent hours on the phone trying to get the time changed. I was assured it would take place later. That didnt happen. The delivery service Temco called at 6:30a and refused to come back later. I had to make a new appointment. A week later they delivered the dishwasher, left it on the porch, refused to uncrate it or bring it inside the house, refused to haul away the old machine and stole the Dishwasher parts kit that I had paid for which delayed installing the dishwasher. After the machine was installed I discovered the machine did not come with a manual. I was told I had to download and print the manual. When I complained that I should not have to use my paper and ink to print a users manual after paying $800 for a dishwasher. I was promised a check to offset my costs. I was supposed to get a credit for my inconvenience but that never happened either. The first time I ran the machine using the one hour cycle water was all over the machine and I had to dry inside. I was told that I had to use a longer wash cycle so I did the second time. After 4 hours of washing, the glasses had a film on them, even though I rinse the dishes before putting them in the machine the dishes had some debris on them and water had still collected on the top of the glasses.Whirlpool sent a repair company out and the technician said motor pump and display control were faulty and it would probably be cheaper to replace the dishwasher rather than repair it. I was told I would get an email the next day telling me what would happen. I never got the email. During the week I called Whirlpool and Home Depot many times to complain about the faulty dishwasher, stolen parts and the promised refunds for my inconvenience as well as having to print the manual. Calling Whirlpool or Home Depot customer care will take hours and gets you nowhere. A week after the repair person came out I called the repair company to request a report as to what had been done and was told that they were coming back out the following Monday to fix the machine again. Monday, The repair technician came out and replaced the control panel but not the pump. The machine wont heat up to dry the dishes--the heating coil wasnt even warm after being on for 8 min. I am supposed to be contacted again for a 3rd visit!! I have a dishwasher that is faulty (read lemon) and Home Depot wont allow me to return it because their return policy is 48 hours after delivery. Whirlpool refuses to replace it unless the technician says it cant be fixed. Obviously, that will never happen. I should have repaired my old dishwasher rather than waste my money on this horrible machine. Whirlpool used to make fine products but those days are over. How does running a dishwasher for four hours saving energy? My old over 10 year old Whirlpool dishwasher was perfect until the pump broke. The dishes were always clean, dry and came out of the machine hot and sanitized. I am so disappointed in both Whirlpool and Home Depot.

Whirlpool Cabrio Elite Top Loading Washer Model WTW8240YW - I add my complaint to the roughly 2000 others about this machine and Whirlpool. Two months after the warranty expired the machine started making a loud noise on the spin cycle. I called a repairman and he said it was the main bearing going bad and this was a common problem with this model. He recommended buying a new washer rather than repairing the unit because the cost to repair was greater than what I paid for the washer. I called Whirlpool and all they offered was to send a repairman at my cost. This is terrible service for a documented problem that they have. I will buy a new washer but it will not be a Whirlpool!

They said I should receive it by Wednesday August 27th. I had to pay extra for the shipping. Here I am September 2nd w/ no bracket. Called again. They said it wasnt next day shipping, it was 2 day shipping and its at the post office. But the shipping number they gave me was for the one screw. I believe I should get my money back. I spoke to a supervisor, took her number down. Still waiting for a call because the mailman came and I didnt receive anything yet again.
