I purchased an LG French door refrigerator in Sept. 2018. It quit cooling in March 2020. Had a service call and was told that the part would be ordered and the technician would come back to install it. Never heard back from the technician so I called the service center. I was told that the part had never been ordered and would be ordered. I never received a call regarding the part so I called again. I was told that the part was discontinued and could no longer be ordered. The person at the call center could not help me. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I was asked for proof of my purchase. I sent my Lowes credit card statement showing the purchase date, what was purchased, what store it was purchased from, and the price. The statement had all of the information that was requested from LG.LG came back and asked for the actual receipt. The original receipt was taken by the service technician so that he would have the information to order the part. I cannot get a copy since the Lowes store that I purchased the refrigerator from has since closed. Furthermore, LG has all of my information. When I made the initial service call, they looked up my account with my phone number and told me that they had all of my information. As of today, the BBB has closed my complaint as LG is refusing to repair or replace my refrigerator with the receipt that their technician has. Just infuriates me to be out $2,300.00! Buyer beware! There are several class action suits on the refrigerator that I purchased but LG continues to sell the defective appliance and so does Lowes. They have looked for every outlet to get out of making good on their appliance!

I have an LG refrigerator that has the known compressor issue. It failed within 3 years. Customer service was difficult to deal with. They eventually shipped part & agreed partial payment for repairs. From The LG authorized repair list given nobody would come & repair it for months ahead. I finally found a repair service available. With the consent of LG customer services I did the repair for $650. Submitted a receipt & was only reimbursed $200. Yet LG in court said “labor covered for 5 years”. Now at 5.5 years the product failed again. I spoke with customer service. They stated as an “unauthorized repair service was used all warranty is void”. Yet they knew who I was going with for the repair, have a copy of the receipt on file & previously authorized a partial labor payment. What a slippery way to get out of liability for a known product design defect. Customer services then terminated the call. If this is the treatment you want if/when your product fails, which it most likely will if it has a Linear motor, you have been warned.

We bought a brand new LG double after all my family told me how well they are. FYI parents and sister have only had theirs for a couple years so they are just lucky so far. Good thing I bought the warranty from the store however after spending 1600 dollars I cant believe it is malfunctioning. Currently top oven will not hold temperature when you pre set it to a certain degree. At 400 it warms up but as soon as the little tune goes off the oven shuts itself down and completely cools off. The lower oven has the exact opposite issue and heated up to a very dangerous 550 degrees via my thermometer when I pre set it to three hundred and fifty degrees to bake cookies. I had to unplug the oven as I could not get the temperature to stop rising. I have children and currently puppies in the house. I could have had a very bad accident. I cannot believe that LG would sell these faulty products that are downright DANGEROUS. I am currently waiting 2 weeks for a certified repairman unable to plug it in and cook for my family as I am scared the oven below me will explode or worse. After reading the reviews I am not very hopeful for the future of the range as it seems that even if I do get it repaired I will have issues... I should have realized this after my new dryer fried out after 6 months but I let it go thinking it was just a one off factory defect. The dryer and washer both LG are currently working but it seems we are going to throw away 4500 dollars total between all 3 and warranty plans and I guess we will start saving up for Whirlpool appliances. Please if anyone out there is reading this considering an LG... DONT make the same mistake I did! The old adage of you get what you pay for does not hold with LG appliances... you can save money and get better!

So we installed a new LG range last month during a kitchen remodel. Huge capacity oven, which I appreciate, but the chime indicating preheating target temperature is 100 degrees too early. It ultimately reaches target temp, but about 10 minutes later. The first casserole baked gave us mild food poisoning as we erroneously believed it had cooked according to the recipe. In fact, it was placed in the oven 100 degrees below temp, lost heat in the process of opening the door, then was never cooked long enough. Now I have an internal gauge hung in the middle of the oven space, which I have to illuminate with a flashlight shone through the door, to monitor temp. What a colossal waste of $1300.

When we built a custom home two years ago we thought we researched for the best front load washer available for our laundry room at the time. My wife and I decided that Consumer Report would be the best reference point. DO NOT GET LED DOWN THIS PATH. We purchased the Front Load LG WM8000HVA. After a year our clothes started to smell so we ran some cycles with bleach, then vinegar, then AFFRESH. Nothing helped... NOTHING.Just go online and see thousands of reviews for front load washers. I dont think it is just the LG. I think it is a problem for all front loads. My wife has a great nose and with that comes a lot of complaining. The solution was difficult but easy: I bought a new $1200 LG WT7600KKA yesterday from Best Buys in Louisville, KY. Giving our current front load to charity.

I purchased this refrigerator, model LFD22860ST, from Sears in Feb. 2007. Two weeks ago, I smelled an electrical type smell that woke me up in the middle of the night. The light bulbs had been burning while the doors were shut. The wiring was burnt. The light cover was burned and melted off and was laying on top of food. The top of the liner had begun to melt as well. I managed to get one bulb out. The other bulb burned out. One of the plastic tabs in the upper inside corners of the french doors (the part that is supposed to keep the door firmly closed) broke off. And the bracket deep inside that you screw the tab into has broken out as well. So, there is no way to anchor/screw a new tab in even if I wanted to. Its the door with the controls and water in it, so its a challenge to make sure it is not coming open by itself. The plastic piece that runs across the lower inside, that holds the crisper bins in, has broken in the middle. So, every time you pull/push the bins back in, you have to struggle with that as well. The ice maker overfills. And when you open the bottom freezer door, ice cubes come tumbling out all over the floor. With that, Im constantly turning the ice maker either on or off. Ive noticed that LG has discontinued this model. Was it discontinued because of these problems? I paid an awful lot of money for this designer, stainless steel, french door refrigerator. I really expected it to last more than 4 years!

LFX319255T/03 - We read reviews and paid $2500.00 for this LG which is 2 1/2 years old at this point. Within the 1st year the entire electronic panel died and had to be replaced. This was handled under warranty but of course this means losing everything in my refrigerator/freezer twice before it was fixed as well as living without a refrigerator for several days while waiting for service. Then it developed mildew and another service call was necessary. Now it had stopped working again and they are telling us they have no approved service providers in our area to fix it (Cumberland County, NJ). LG had a lawsuit regarding these refrigerators and reimbursed customers for some of their lost food but having new, expensive refrigerator that breaks down every six months seems outrageous! I have a $2500.00 useless refrigerator sitting in my kitchen. LG says we should hear back from them within three days if they can find someone to repair it or we can find someone and give them the name!!! We called three local companies who will not touch repairs that are under warranty. I would avoid this refrigerator unless you like cleaning it out yearly and have checked to make sure you have service providers in this area.Updated on 12/16/2015: We spoke with 17 LG representatives including their Executive Department and 9 appliance service centers. There were originally no service providers in our area and no reputable companies accepted payment directly from LG or wanted to work with them. Long story short, we had to file a small claim action in order to get this resolved but now we are accepting a LG replacement refrigerator which also has reviews of disrepair. I am hoping we have better luck with this product but I would not recommend purchasing any LG product at this point. They were a nightmare to deal with and provide very poor customer service. Since we will need to sign an agreement not to discuss this refrigerator and our experience in order to get a replacement, I wanted to post my experiences prior to agreeing to this settlement. I hope this will help others avoid the same mess.

I started noticing small holes in my clothes, which baffled me. I’m worried that maybe we had moths, so I took out all of my clothes, emptied the closets, re-washed, and dried them. Now, all of my clothes had holes in it. I did some research online to discover that cracked drums in LG are fairly common :( I looked inside my dryer, and lo and behold, there was in fact a crack, and the crack was what was ripping all my clothes. LG was bought at Home Depot. I had to wait over a week to get someone in to fix it. All my clothes are ruined. I will never buy LG again. Also, the washer gets stuck on 9 minutes any time you wash towels, and it routinely overflows with soap even if I use HE detergent and fill it to well below the normal level indicated in the soap receptacle.

I purchased my LG dryer model DLEX4270 and immediately I noticed the lint screen didnt fit the slot perfectly. I went ahead and dried clothes in it anyway. Some of the clothes became wrapped around the corner of the screen and caused them to stretch out to a point that they arent wearable. I contacted LG to send a new screen and was informed that I would have to pay for it. Now the screen has actually cracked and smells like its going to catch on fire. So, I ordered a new 1 and the same thing has happened again. Really poor design!!

Our washer and dryer are labeled Kenmore but are actually made by LG, they both function perfectly, wash and dry great, no problems in the 3 years we have had them, look nice also. Cycles are pre programmed for a variety of types of materials and are customizable within types. The washer has a cleaning process which is a bit inconvenient but just requires a little time to accomplish, overall we like the machines and would buy again.

I have had the LG HE machine for approximately 2 years. When I first got it, I called LG because the machine wasnt getting all of my clothes wet and certainly not clean. They smelled dirty when they came out. The repairman said that the machine was working properly and proceeded to completely fill the tub to prove it to me. I have since found that the only way to get a full tub of water to cover my large loads is to run the washer on Bulky Bedding with Heavy Soil Level. (Nice trick for the repairman to use). How much longer will LG (I dont know about other so called HE makers) be allowed to dupe the public into buying these machines? I bought it to save energy and water. I care about our overuse of the earths resources in fact I am one of those who still hangs clothes outside on my clothes line. As soon as we can save enough money, we will dump this machine.

I purchased a fridge from Home Depot on July 18th 2020, May 20th 2021 it started making noises and read an ERROR CODE, I called LG the first available day, I was sent thru the warranty service company and dealt with them scheduling a tech that didnt come prepared with the correct equipment to even work on the thing, then was told the wrong parts were ordered, waited on new parts and then the warranty company kept scheduling a tech that wasnt certified to work on the fridge so the system was cancelling the appointment. Finally on June 15th I spoke with a case manager at LG who assured me she was the one dealing with my case and would have it taken care of in 7-10 business days.On June 29th I received a text message asking for yet another picture of the product tag located inside. Which I immediately returned.. I lost over $500 dollars in food and was refunded $200 for that.. Now here we are July 9th. I called today to see what was going on, the rep would NOT give me her name, she called me a liar and hung up on me, when I called back to ask for a supervisor I was told there were NONE available and it would take 72 hours for one to get in contact with me. At this point I will be contacting a lawyer to see what the next steps are that can be taken, this has been the worst experience EVER. I have children and going almost 2 months without a fridge is UNCALLED FOR.. I would not recommend buying any LG PRODUCTS because the customer service and the warranty company they deal with are terrible!!!!

As youve all stated, this brand is junk. Not only has my 2006/07 model washer failed twice, it smells (even after clean and running tub clean often) and it leaves streaks on whites. After each white load, I inspect the garment before drying because if you do, it will be permanent. The dryer doesnt dry. You have to run at least the normal cycle and then follow-up with the speed dry cycle to finish it off. This isnt only me. I have 4 friends who have the LG combo (various models, years, configurations) and each has similar complaints. I will never buy anything from LG ever again. Nothing.

I purchased this dryer a year and a half ago. The problem that we have been encountering is that the clothes or bedsheets we dry always get caught in the lint trap. They will spin around each other, twist each other, stretch out and each time just makes it worse. It has ruined a lot of our clothes already since then. Worst of all, when I did my last laundry drying my bedsheets recently, I found the dryer door wide open by itself (no one touched it or opened the dryer) and all the sheets are all tangled up and twisted giving me more work to do. I was so shocked to see this. One piece of advice, never leave the dryer unattended if youre drying anything. Such a lousy product. Not worth my money. Too scared for my older children to use this when I am not around to supervise them. I am honestly not happy and dissatisfied with this product.

We purchased a new LG stove from Best Buy. The oven failed to work under warranty. We called LG and they told us that the stove needed to have a dedicated electrical line. We had it done. By the time it was done, the stove was beyond warranty. Three hundred dollars later, the oven failed to work. LG would not deal with it. I called Geek Squad to try to fix it. They could not fix it. A wonderful tech came out. He did not charge me. I still do not have a working oven. I will purchase a Viking stove and dump this piece of garbage. I needed a washer/dryer and purchased a Samsung unit. I am very happy with the unit and the experience. LG is all talk. The LG unit is the worst experience one could have. I fully expect to file a consumer fraud complaint against LG.

I purchased a LG washer and dryer about 6 weeks ago and is now a huge regret. Whoever designed these appliances has never done laundry. The most frustrating W/D I have ever purchased with the stupid bells, whistles and lights. Most of the different programs are useless and not practical. We purchased one of the largest washer, and dryer 9.0 in 2014 when we purchased our new home model number DLGX8001W Serial Number 406KWWZTH785. The other day I was informed by my wife that she smelled something burning and then heard the dryer making a loud noise. I contacted a local appliance repair company once he showed up I was informed that the motor was dead along with bad rollers. Disappointed at the untimeliness of this situation I headed to Best Buy to purchase a brand new unit.I saw that the same unit offered a 10-year warranty on the motor. I then questioned the sales rep shouldn’t my unit at home also carry a 10-year warranty? He replied He believe that it should also have a 10-year warranty on the motor and drum. I then went home. The next day I contacted LG customer service. I was told by the customer service representative after verifying my model and serial number that the unit was under the 10-year warranty for the motor and drum. He also noted that the initial one-year warranty had expired but I was still under the 10-year warranty for the motor and drone. I was giving the phone number to the L G certified appliance repair company in my area. Once I contacted the service rep I my unit was not under warranty and I needed to contact L G to verify again. I contacted L G and was told by the representative after verifying both my model and serial number that my unit was under warranty for 10 years for the motor to illuminate the confusion. I merge the call between the LG customer rep and the authorized repair company and the L G customer service rep after speaking with the appliance repair company he back bit his statement in regards to my warranty and said that he apologizes. He was speaking in general to me and that he was sorry but my unit was not covered under a 10 year motor warranty. I am upset because he also explained that a lot of units are kind of covered under a ten-year motor and drum warranty but for some reason was he look closer mine was not. I am extremely disappointed at this situation because every unit that I see now is advertised that they have a 10-year warranty on the drum and motor. This was a very expensive unit I purchased it and was willing to spend more thinking that it was a quality laundry machine and now that it has failed me I have experienced misinformation and a bad customer service experience. I kindly requested the service rep to transfer me to a manager. He put me on hold for an additional 10 minutes and told me he was documenting that and that he would transfer me to a manager. He then sent me to the beginning of the call Queue. No manager. Waiting on hold now. Will be explaining this all to another rep. This has been a horrible experience!!!

This is the worst washing machine I have ever purchased. It takes forever to get a load of wash done and there are spots on the clothes when finished. It doesnt use enough water to even cover the clothes. For more water, you have to set it on Extra Load, and then it takes 3 hours to wash! The programs for selection are awful and limited. For this machine to cost so much, I thought it would be top notch. WRONG. My next machine will be a trusted GE. I had a GE washer for over 10 years that washed clothes very well. This LG washer is terrible and I wouldnt recommend wasting your money on it. It looks pretty, but it doesnt wash well. Ultimately very disappointed.

Unfortunately, the compressor broke on my LG refrigerator. I filed a claim and it took them roughly two weeks to fix it. They couldn’t send anybody out and the day that I had it scheduled, the guy cancelled on me at the last minute and said that he got the wrong part. So me, my husband, and my little baby were living out of a cooler for two weeks because no one could fix our fridge. I was super upset because it was a brand new fridge that we bought and it was four years. Eventually, they fixed it but I still feel that it doesn’t cool that great. Then they told us that we should only be keeping it 40% full, which is ridiculous because you don’t buy a fridge to only keep at 40% full or it’s not gonna work properly. But that was what the technician told us. We’ve had ongoing issues with this, too. All the little baskets that you can put the milk or sauce containers on are breaking off because the plastic is so brittle and there’s a weak point in it. The design of the plastic is not well-designed. When you spent $2,000 on a fridge, you don’t expect in four years that the containers on the door that you should be able to store things in, are gonna break off. Then the replacement is $90 and when I read all the reviews, people are saying not to even bother replacing it because it’s gonna break again. So, my husband and I decided that we’re never gonna buy an LG again.

I chose to purchase my LG refrigerator because I got it on clearance at a ridiculously low price at Lowes. I believe I only paid about 400 dollars for the fridge. The original price was over 1000 dollars. I found that to be too good of a deal to pass up. It had enough of the features I wanted at a price point I found attractive. I liked many features of my LG refrigerator. The first thing I liked about it was the color. It was my first stainless steel refrigerator. I also liked that it had side-by-side doors and the fridge was on top. It was cool at the time. I did not like that it needed a special water filter that was extremely expensive. I also grew to dislike the quality of stainless steel it was made from. It was too prone to smudging and the steel itself was too bright. I prefer a brushed or gunmetal finish to my stainless steel.

Absolute nightmare dealing with this company. Our refrigerator quit cooling, common issue we found out. LG sent out repairman they determined it was the compressor, replaced it, still wasn’t working. They sent them out again and it was replaced a second time and still didn’t work. The repairman deemed it unfixable. We were told if it was deemed unfixable we would get reimbursed for the fridge or a new one, they had us email them our sale invoice so they could get us a new fridge. That was a lie. They sent the repairman out again. They had them replace every part in the fridge and guess what it still doesn’t work. Our refrigerator has not worked for 4 months, they have sent their repair company to our house 8 times. That is 8 days of missed work waiting on them to get here and work on the fridge. We have been told by a few of the customer service people on the phone that this case is getting escalated. Well it hasn’t. We have been told that if we were without the fridge 30 days it would get replaced that was a lie, not fixable it would get replaced also a lie. So we call them once again to let them know it isn’t working and now they say they can’t send someone out until January 7th. That’s another month without the damn fridge. We are beyond fed up with the poor customer service and absolute lies we have been told. Do yourself a huge favor and do not buy from this company.

How is it that there are so many complaints and there is no recall on these problem parts or at least a class action suit? I purchased a whole house full of LG appliances in October of 2011 (Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Stove, Microwave/hood, and refrigerator). I have had many issues with the washer. The washer worked fine initially and gradually started having issues from unbalanced loads to not spinning enough and leaving the clothes soaked requiring extra spin cycles. I purchased this particular model for the load capacity. You would think it would be able to handle what it was made for. In August of 2013 LG sent out a recall for unbalanced load issue. An Authorized repair company came out and did the software update. Frankly the full of clothes and water with the lid locked from no power. They replaced the board (reluctantly) and we were operational until April of 2014 when the board blew again. Our first course of action was to call the authorized repair company back, but they would not talk to us over the phone and wanted to come out and charge us for a service call to service the machine as well as labor to replace the part, if in fact they felt they should warranty it. LG also no help at this point, the machine was out of warranty and not their problem. Since we knew what the problem was and were not fond of repair company anyway, we ordered the part ourselves online and put it in. This one lasted all the way to almost the end of September 2014, again blowing with the machine full of clothes. I have now purchased a new machine (not LG) and will be sending LG copies of all the paperwork, from original purchase all the way to current purchase. I doubt they will do anything for me, the machine is clearly a piece of junk sitting in my garage. Unfortunately, this is not the only one of their appliances I have had issues with. The microwave has had just about every part in it replaced in the span of a couple months, some of the parts multiple times. This was also a big hassle to get repaired. The LG tech fixed it the first 2 times and then it got pushed to yet another authorized repair company, for multiple visits changing out a part at a time. It would have been cheaper for them to just give me a new one. LG is now banned from my house. I will never purchase another one of their products, no matter what it is. I also recommend to everyone I know, to stay away from the Large Garbage. So far they have not stood by their products. I did not purchase an extended warranty, but I have never had issues like this with any appliance I have ever purchased and they have lasted well over 3 years. Not to mention these dealers want to charge at least 1/2 of the purchase price for these extended warranties, which is ridiculous.

I like many how have already posted immeasurable frustration with their LG Washer. My washer does the error code and runs forever like many other customers. I have not contacted LG yet, but it is clear that I will never buy another LG product. It is sad to spend this much money on a product that causes so many consumers frustration. Just for fun I now time how long it takes to wash a load of clothes, not to mention how much water is used.

I bought this appliance less than 2 years ago. The compressor stop working right after the warranty ended. Lost all food due to LG delay in solving this. The fix from the 1st technician worked for 2 days only. 2nd technician came and fixed the mistakes from the 1st one and the issues with the refrigerator which was the compressor. LG refused to honor the 10 year warranty neither reimburse for the lost food. Never, EVER, buy any LG appliance or you will regret for sure!

I have a refrigerator LG Model LFX31925ST, acquired in 2011 for about $3000. I never write negative reviews. I expect that from time to time products will eventually fail. That said, its very disappointing when folks spend $3000 for a Refrigerator only to have it fail numerous times. Every time we have to wait for 2 weeks to get a technician to come diagnose the problem, order parts, wait another week or so to come back replace the parts, then 2 weeks later another part fails, wait another 2 weeks for another repair person to show up and so forth. LG knows this, in fact they have known this for years. Maybe they should invest in hiring more repair people, redesign their product and only sell it when its ready to be put out to the consumer. I have a 22 year old GE refrigerator in my garage as a backup. Sadly to say I have used it more in the past 3 months than my 6 year old LG that I spent $3000 on. The latest problem that I have is that the refrigerator does not cool down below 62 degrees F. The freezer is working, had the compressor replaced 6 weeks ago. I expect as most consumers do, that when we spend this kind of money for a product that it would be fixed in a reasonable amount of time. 2 weeks to a month to get a repair person and the repair done is not acceptable. Until LG addresses these issues I have to give them a failing grade, both to the reliability of their product and their lack of response to the consumer when we need it.

Back in November 2006, my husband and I remodeled our kitchen. We purchased all LG products, refrigerator, dishwasher, electric range, and microwave oven. I have had issues with each appliance. The refrigerator, the ice machine broke and leaked ice water in the entire freezer section and kitchen floor. The microwave oven handle has cracked. The dishwasher does not clean the dishes, and the soap dispenser always has caked on soap residue. As of this date, I have not had an oven for over a month. The keypad panel stopped working, the wrong part arrived. I did contact LG and placed a formal complaint to the customer service representative, I have had no response. I will make sure that everyone that I come in contact with will know that LG products are not reliable and their parts are impossible to get.

I bought an LG washing machine two years ago, and if I could afford to buy another washing machine I would throw the LG Washing Machine out the window SMELL and all. After about one month I began to notice a sour smell on my clothes. I have since tried every detergent, odor repellents, old world remedies (i.e. ammonia, vinegar, etc) and nothing, nothing works. Before I bought the LG I had my Kenmore for 20 years with no smell. If there is a recall on this product I would like to be part of it.

I have Model WT1101CW LG washing machine and can say with total honesty that this is the worse machine I have ever owned. It goes out of balance so many times during the wash cycle that it takes hours to wash a load. It keeps filling with water to try to rebalance itself so it wastes water and ultimately we end up stopping it with the clothes still wet to dry them because it will not spin them out. We spent over $400 dollars on repairs already and it still doesnt work. UE, UE, UE I am so sick of that code. Dont buy this machine!!!

The first issues was the water line for the icemaker was leaking into the door, the entire icemaker and door needed to be replaced. (tons of black mold on the door that was removed). Then last year the compressor broke and needed to be replaced. Now the compressor is broken again and needs to be replaced. The repair guys from LG were here today, but they dont have any parts so I have to wait another week before they will put the part in. I have 80 people coming to my house for a party this weekend and no refrigerator!!!

That cover was replaced then I noticed the washer doing the same thing. And the new top put on dryer was losing all its lettering. I was told baking process, caused all the lettering to go away. The rusting of the unit is another subject not yet been told. I have a old Maytag 15 years old all lettering on it. I have never owned or seen anything worse than the LG. If they are so proud of the name it will wipe off also. If I built this washer and dryer I would not want my name on it and I guess they didnt either. Indoor ice bin freezes every two weeks and I have to use a hair dryer, Ice pick and and a hammer to get the ice bin out to get a solid block of ice that has formed out so it can start dispensing ice....All LG consumer affairs tells you is just let it defrost....will never, ever, ever own a LG product. I have an LG gas dryer, model# DLG2102W, and it leaks gas dangerously in the middle of a cycle. The gas initial comes on and ignites as it should. I recorded and tested this. At first, on a cool machine, the gas valves opens without igniter, causing it let out a lot of gas. This happened after the first 10 minutes. I turned it off, while the machine was already warmed up, I ran a new dry cycle. The gas ignited as it should, but then when it turned off after it reached a certain temperature, the gas valve opened up after a few minutes without the igniter coming on to light the gas. Instead it just spewed a ton of gas out. This is very bad. I reached out to LG and no response yet. Ill be posting the video on youtube. Heres a guy that had the same problem. **

I bought an LG Refrig/Freezer side by side unit in 2013. Within four months, the doors stopped sealing causing all food inside to spoil while I was out of town. Not covered by warranty, spent over $200 to have it repaired. Repair seal was no better which resulted in a second spoilage and waste of hundreds of dollars of food. Spent another $200 - all this within a year. I bought LG because they were supposedly good. I have learned the hard way. This is far from the truth. This morning my refrigerator was dead at the age of 31 months. After calling support number I was told to hire a technician. Instead I have emptied it out and am pushing it out to the curb where it belongs - in a trash dump. Bottom line is LG refrigerators are LEMONS. Do yourself a favor and NEVER EVER BUY ONE.

Now the warranty is over, and still need him on a regular basis. Every appointment is scheduled weeks later, which is very annoying. (imagine 2 weeks without oven). Among the CON of this oven- Automatic cleaning burn the fuse, every time... unless you move the oven 3 feet from the wall, suggested by their own technician (Gee, we are in 2019!!!). The induction burners have an intricate inside panel, when one is defective 2 or 3 stop. They were supposed to be independent. Every time you open the panel, one of the button break. And most of all, the service is horrible, from the long waiting time on the phone, to the unacceptable delay for the technician visit, to the technician fees... And ability. I purchased a new LG TrueBalance washer. I hate it. Example: I just tried to do a short wash with two pairs of slacks, a mens shirt, and a tee-top. After 1 hour of having the washer stop due to off balance signal 5 times, repositioning contents each time, and restarting cycle and still not getting any further along -- I pulled the clothes out and am now trying to get the washer to finish cycle empty. This was not a unique experience. Unless I jam the washer full so that nothing can virtually move -- it takes me an entire day (at minimum 12 hours) to do 6 loads of clothes. I would never ever again purchase a washer without a center agitator, the ability to fill washer and leave for overnight soaking (which I cant now), and get rid of all of this computer bologna! UPDATE: The off balance signal just went off again with the washer empty! If you are shopping for a washer -- do not get blinded by all the new/many bells and whistles.

I received delivery from Home Depot of my LSG4513ST range on December 16, 2020. I immediately began smelling gas when the range was on, but was told that this was normal and that the oven had to run for a while and it would dissipate. The gas smell did not dissipate and was and is detectable by my gas meter. Home Depot was not able to get anyone out to my home to check on the range until 12/31. On 12/31, the plumber/gas fitter came to my home, inspected the range, and said that it was defective and would need to be replaced. I was told that I had to contact LG myself which I did. It took LG until 1/4 to send their representative who is ASAP solutions. ASAP solutions inspected the range and said that it needed a new igniter and manifold. Evidently, there was what they call a “bulletin” on this new $2200 range. In other words, it had defective parts that were known to be defective when I purchased the range which I waited multiple weeks for as it was on back order. In fact, the range wasn’t even manufactured until October of 2020 and was shipped from Korea. Instead of replacing the range, the LG representative from ASAP solutions said they were going to replace the igniter and manifold. I was told that it would be at most a week to order the parts and repair the range. That week has now come and gone and The LG subcontractor is not even answering my emails as to when this will be resolved. I would just like to add that I understand that we are in the middle of a pandemic and that it is not business as usual. I have had to have numerous people come to my home at the expense of my own family’s health to go through this process to still not have a working range. I have not had a working range since December 16, 2020 prior to the delivery of this very expensive range that has never worked, and by the way, I purchased an extended warranty. If I may, I would also like to add that my family has had to go without a range during the holidays and there seems to be no resolution in sight.

Our compressor and coil failed on our 4 1/2 year old fridge. We bought the fridge from Lowes Canada with a 4 year extended warranty. About 2 years ago the fridge stopped working, all the food spoiled. We called the repair company and they fixed it. Just recently the fridge died. LG said they would send out a repair person in about a week! All the food spoiled. LG said the repair man would call us to schedule when he would be coming. The day before he was supposed to come, LG cancelled our appointment without telling us and said they need the repair man elsewhere and they would reschedule the appointment for TWO weeks later. Who does that to their customers? We called Lowes and freaked out. They sent over another repairman who said the compressor and coil were pooched. 3 weeks we waited for him to come back to fix it. In the mean time we purchased another fridge to put in the basement so we could get back to normality (not LG Brand). The fridge is fixed with new compressor and coil but the compressor will not stop running. LG and Lowes have both washed their hands and said there is nothing else they can do! I’ll I can hear in my house I’d the constant hum of the fridge all the time. I have never had such a bad experience with LG and Lowes Canada in my life. Too many apologies and no action. We purchased an LG fridge and stove from Home Depot on January 3, 2014. We were given a date for delivery of Jan 24, 2014. So my husband takes the day off work to await the delivery. At 9:30 am we received a call from Home Depot asking if we had received a call from LG with our delivery time? We answered, no, we had not, and Home Depot staff said he would call LG to see when it was coming. Several hours later with no return call from anyone I called Home Depot (2:30 pm), only to be told that our products were out of stock and would now not be delivered until Feb 4, 2014. So upset over taking a day off and not even the smallest of respect for LG to call and inform us that our products were not coming, we wait until the next date. For Feb 4th comes and again my husband takes the day off work to await the delivery (surely if it was not coming today LG would have called to inform us). By 11 am we heard nothing so I placed a call to LG myself. It was at this time I was given the run around. I asked her if it was customary for them to not call their clients to inform them that their delivery is not coming. She told me it was Home Depots responsibility (I spoke with Home Depot and the told me it was their responsibility). I explained that I felt that was horrible customer service to not provide common courtesy. I let her know that it cost us money to stay at home for the 2 days and they couldnt pick up the phone. The customer services lady could not help me and when I asked to speak to a manager the manager would not take my call and instead gave me the number to call the delivery department. It was then I spoke with them and was told that it wasnt coming today either and had no idea when it was coming. Eventually we found out another delivery date of Feb 12. I wonder if I will ever get the items I paid for??

WT5001Cw washer purchased on 3/17/12 from Sears. Contacted Sears within 1st year to say washer would not dispense hot water. Sent tech out and was told LG said working according to specs. Tech told me to purchase extended warranty so machine would have to be replaced if 4 service calls were made in 1st year for same problem. I did that and then Sears said it didnt apply because LG said working according to specs. After Sears sent 4 technicians out over a period of 1 1/2 years and after the 1st year manufacturer warranty ran out, I was told that nothing could be done.My argument is: I should have been told at purchase or stated in the manual that the machine would not dispense water above 98 degrees, even though it had a hot water selection on it. 98 degrees scientifically is considered lukewarm and the machine will not go above 98 degrees which prohibits me from killing microorganisms in bed linens and bacteria in reusable baby diapers. Sears would not help me and referred me to LG. LG said they cant do anything because the machine is past the 1st year warranty, even though I contacted Sears, who contacted LG within that 1st year. Sears continued to send technicians out with non-workable ideas to get hot water when the bottom line was, it is impossible to get hot water. The machine mixes cold water even when the setting is on hot. I have written to Sears CEO Eddie Lampert and LG corporate office and received responses Sorry but we cant help you with this problem.

Purchase this LG Electric Range LRE3012ST in 2011 and oven stopped heating correctly in August 2016. Repairman stated the oven control board and oven sensor need replacing. The oven sensor part was available, however LG no produce the oven control board. I call LG and they referred me to ENCompass who in turn sent an incorrect part; was later told by customer service, part was not available and there was nothing they could do. How can you produce products and not parts for the products? I have not been able to reach executives as of to date and still without a working oven. Bad... customer service.

I bought my LG washing machine three years ago. It was recalled due to issues with the drum. I had a repair guy come out and fix it. I have continued to have issues. The drum is loud and bounces, hitting the inside of the machine. It is piercing loud! I called customer service and the associate told me to file a claim and proof of purchase stating they would replace it since I was continuing to have problems. When I called to follow up on the commitment, a supervisor stated that they would need to repair the machine multiple times before issuing a new one. A commitment should not have been made and instead they should have sent someone out. I do most of my wash on the weekend because I work and have small kids so Im busy during the week. I called again to ask for a repair person to come fix it and the representative stated that I would need to call from 8-5 so they could troubleshoot over the phone. I cannot take off work for this. The other frustrating aspect about dealing with this company is no accountability, being passed from employee to employee with no resolution. Also needing to repeat the entire issue over And over. I will never buy an LG product again and will use social media to get my story out to family And friends so they know the issues I have had.

LG gave an approval authorization for an LG tech to come out since the issues related to the recent software update and I did not purchase an extended warranty. Robert the tech was punctural and very receptive to my issues. He was able to punch out my dented front exterior and the rotor and stator was replaced with brand new ones. So far I have done 4 loads of wash and the machine performs as new! Lesson learned- always request an LG Tech when your seeking service. I dont think Sears, Home Depot , Lowes or HH Gregg should be blamed for any mechanical issues. The only thing these distributors are guilty of is having the latest and greatest appliances for sale. My next washer purchase will not be an HE though. I will buy a standard Speed Queen if they are still available when that time comes- for I have read down the road, the government may mandate HE only for residential consumers. Lets hope not!

Because of frequent compressor failure, sent certified letter to Huntsville, ALA President of LG Electronics USA 11/8/19 and again 12/27/19. Received Returned Receipt back both times, however, have never heard from anyone at LG. Replacing a failed compressor with the same type of compressor time and time again has proven to be very poor strategy, not to mention the inconvenience to your customer during the replacement phase. Loved LG; have 5 LG products in my home. Extremely disappointed with customer service.

Ive bought front load machines in red color. It has a sensor type of thing. Anytime I wash something, it uses such a little water, I have to wash the same thing for three times. Also, dryer is the same way, it has a sensor and It stop drying the clothing before they are actually dry. I have to repeat the same cycle for dry three or more times. I set it on 55 minutes dry time, and in 10 minutes the machine stops with a signal of complete dry which is not complete. It bothers me. They werent cheap and it says less vibration and thats not true, my whole house shake from it. I wouldnt recommend to anyone! I will sell my house and make sure I dont have any LG product in my house. Very dissatisfied.

I have to use duct tape to hold the lint filter in place. I have ruined 100s of dollars worth of clothing. The clothes get caught on the end of the lint filter and twist until ripping. Items with straps, sheets, sleeves are the most common to get caught and ripped. I am very disgusted that this has not been recalled and a fix has not been made. I spent a lot of money on this dryer and very dissatisfied!

Very reasonable price, easy to operate and the brand well recommended. It was very easy and simple to operate. Like the features, Ive owned and used these item for over 13 years and have not had any issues or problems with them. Regular repairs would definitely be a deal breaker because, Ill be forced to pay or spend extra money on these items if not investing in another brand. Im a male who washes most of the time because the wife is away so, I have known what cycle and temperature to use when washing whites, colored or black garments. So because this product is seamless to operate Ive never had any problems doing my laundry. Beside the price fitted in my budget.

We bought LG top load washer and front dryer as a pair; WT5170HV, 5-2012. The only problems weve had was the washer electronic control board shorted out & now weve noticed rust forming underneath the top rim of the washer. There is a notice about not splashing bleach when adding to the dispenser. We are careful, but apparently it splashes up on the bottom of the lid and around the dispenser when the machine is operating. This is a design flaw and needs to be corrected by LG. This will be the last time I buy LG products unless they show me that they will stand behind their products and fix the design flaws... So be careful when buying appliances and read consumer reports.

Late at night, (after we all went to bed) we heard glass breaking. Upon investigation, we found that the glass in the front loader door has blown out, glass all over the floor AND inside the washer. Glass was very hot. Cleaned up the mess and called LG. My husband is disabled and we do his laundry every day. I spoke to customer service and they said it had to go to resolution team, even though I have had the machine for 5 years and it was no longer under warranty. After a week of waiting for their decision, now I have service scheduled for Monday (which I have to pay for since the washer is not under warranty....no kidding!!) They had better come with the parts because going to the Laundromat is no fun...especially after paying $700 for this machine.....

LG Washing Machine model WT1101C - After 2 years of normal use this machine failed. It was sold as heavy duty. Under normal use the drive shaft broke off inside unit. Called customer service and was advised to call service tech in our area, he never returned call. Under the LGs useless warranty they stated we would have to pay for service call. Filed complaint with BBB and went no where. Also, supplied pics of receipt and broken part. They offered a possible courtesy visit from tech and would not supply replacement part or refund. Guess they will go out of business if they had to honor their warranty for all the POSs they are unloading on the consumers. No customer service or ethics to this company. No stars for this company. Will never buy LG brands again!!!

And one of them is the power button So youre not going to get confused with what to push. It is a very quiet cleaning process. It does not matter if the oven is on convection or just nonconvection mode. The same noise still exists. We live in Saint John New Brunswick. I called a few appliance companies to service the oven. I was told, we do not service LG ovens.I went to the facility that sold me the oven and asked if they knew of a service representative. I learned from the store that sold the appliance, there is no one in the area that services these LG products!! LG service lacks timeliness. I bought an LG French door refrigerator which we put in service three years ago (in 2015). Since that time we have had the circulation fan replaced in 2017 and the compressor failed in 2018. We have now been waiting for three weeks to have the compressor replaced and it appears we will be yet a fourth week before we have a technician here to perform that work. Took 2 weeks to get the tech out to diagnose and order the parts needed, another week to get the part and set up another appointment, then the appoint was cancelled because a plastic part I could snap on myself was not yet on hand. Like I said: Now looking to be 4 weeks (maybe) before I once again have another functioning refrigerator. NOT HAPPY!

I am very upset and very frustrated! I bought a full suite of LG kitchen appliances just over 2 years ago from HHGregg and invested in a 5 year (HHGregg premium) warranty to cover all of the appliances. In just 2 short years I am having trouble with all of my appliances and am currently waiting on a service call from HHGregg (whom I will never buy appliances from ever again). Found out today that the HHGregg warranty is not as good as the paper on which it is written! One complaint is the LG microwave oven. It stopped working (the plate will no longer rotate and will not heat up). Apparently, there is a default in the design of the LG microwave ovens that fit over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave system to stop working. LG and HHGregg should replace my malfunctioned microwave oven with one without this flaw! No LG told me to contact HHGregg! HHGregg offered me only a 200.00 store credit! This cost does not replace my microwave! I feel robbed by LG and by HHGregg! Shame on both these companies!!!

Few days after purchasing LMHM2017ST, we would hear a squeaky noise from the turntable when on. It seemed just slightly bothersome then and so live with it.A few months later, numbers on the touch keypad stopped working one by one. Now most of them dont work. Also many other buttons are not working. The fan and light buttons are also not working causing these features not be available anymore. Next, another issue cropped up - the microwave switches on, on its own, as soon as the door is opened. So there are now multiple problems in a short duration of gentle use. I called LG customer service but they offered to send someone to fix these issues for a charge of $185 + tax. They would give only 60 days warranty and only on the services performed. They will not guarantee on anything else. It seems they know that there can arise even more problems in future. I bought this microwave because it looked good but other than that it turned out to be a crappy and expensive unit (over $500). I will not buy anything LG in future.

I have had the service man come twice to repair my LG HT5101HV washer and the first time was for the software upgrade required by the recall. I thought it went well until I started to wash my comforter and found out it would not stay balanced no matter what I did to alleviate the problem. It took me over 2 hours to finish that load after manipulating it until I got it to finish. Wasting water galore on trying to rebalance it until it would spin dry. Also I didnt realize it but LG purposely slowed down the rpms on the washer that was rated at 1100RPM to max at 700 rpms. which to me is not high efficiently. So I continued to use the model and started to read reports of what the new software did to the washer. In my honest opinion these washers should all be recalled and replaced. They are not high efficiency anymore. They use water excessively and dont even wring out the clothes as dry as they were advertised which is one of the reasons I bought this model. Yes I liked the machine BEFORE the software upgrade and didnt have any problems with it but for safety reasons I called LG to fix it but wished I never had. The washer was fine except for the plastic support constructions and if you just load the washer correctly you would never have had a problem with it on that issue. Now I have to deal with LG on the fact that they said they cannot fix it and am waiting a call from their rep on the next step in this process after nearly a week of waiting for that call. Needless to say I am NOT a happy camper right now and want this corrected immediately and oh yes, I do not want another LG product after this episode. I just hope they will refund me my purchase price and I can go buy another brand and now I not sure what to buy anymore. I know that I had trouble with other brands before this one. Any suggestions? And raise cain if you arehaving the same problems with the new software upgrade. All I get now is a uE when it spins and it was even doing that when I was trying to clean the basket. That is not even reasonable...... DONT SETTLE for less than what you originally pay for and let LG know you are not happy with the upgrade on the recall.

None of the local authorized service techs had anything good to say about LG. After using LG washer WM4270HWA several months, the ink writing is coming off from the washers front panel and front panel buttons. Please look at the attached picture. The panel was not cleaned using any cleaners. The only explanation is there can be some detergent residue on the fingers after loading the detergent (coming from the detergent bottle or cup). It will dissolve the ink. This is the design problem since it has to be assumed that you are dealing with detergent and LG could cover the front panel writing with transparent plastic or film as they actually do on Power and Start/Pause buttons, proving that they are fully aware of the problem. They could use other inks or just glue the stickers that can be replaced later. Unfortunately, they didnt think much about it and went with the cheapest solution, and this is not the cheapest washer model. Finally, they refused to replace the panel saying it is a cosmetic damage. However when all letters will be gone how to select the washing options? It will be a functional issue. Having extended warranty is not helping either, Home Depot, where the washer was bought, is saying the same. One of their suggestions is to take a marker and write on the panel. Ridiculous nonsense. Be aware.

Was the best deal available at the time and was highly recommended by salesman. Love the brand and would buy again as it has many features you dont necessarily get elsewhere. Highly reliable products. I like the ice maker and filtered water system. Also like that I can move the shelves around to maximize and customize the space in the refrigerator. I also like the meat drawer and produce drawers. They are spacious enough to hold adequate products. But the freezer is too small, would like less shelving etc to give more space; maybe move the freezer to the bottom instead of side by side if it could be configured correctly and I could see and retrieve product easily.

We bought an LG Refrigerator LFX31925ST/05 about 1 1/2 years ago for about $2300 and it has been a nightmare. A few weeks after we bought it we started having problems with the ice maker/dispenser. The ice would thaw then freeze in the storage compartment in the door. So ice would not come out the dispenser. We continued to have the problem so had an LG recommended repairman come try to fix it. The first repair did not work. A few calls later and a different repairman and we find out there is a class action lawsuit for the ice maker and we eventually got it replaced. Now, at the age of 1-1/2 years we had the air circulating fan go out. Error code ER rf. Not covered under the 1-yr. warranty. It took the LG recommended repair man 10 days to replace the motor since it was on back order. We agreed to pay him once we were sure it was working. He left angrily. A half hour after he left, the error code was up again and the fan was not running! After we called and complained, the repair man figured it must be the circuit board. A week later, with a refrigerator that is warm on top and freezes on the bottom, we still have not yet had the board replaced. Maybe we can wait for another class action lawsuit. LG refuses to extend common courtesy and replace the parts without charge. We are looking at about $350 of labor and parts for a fridge that is 1 1/2 years old! On top of that, the stainless steel scratches very easily so be careful. Worst appliance Ive ever purchased!
