Rust started forming early on our washer and spread quickly. Our house is air conditioned and not near the ocean. There was no reason for the rust. Poor quality finishing is the only explanation. When I called to complain I got nowhere. I wish I could show a photo on this website. It would dissuade anyone from ever buying a whirlpool.

The washer constantly binds clothes around agitator. Truly a design flaw and it does not get clothes clean. So with a washer like this, I am forced to go to laundromat. Wished I would have paid 230.00 or so to have transmission fixed on old Kenmore. Truly dislike this substandard appliance.

I am having the very same problem with my french door stainless steel Whirlpool gold refrigerator. Water pooling in the bottom of freezer, freezing into a solid sheet and then leaking onto the floor. It is less than 2 years old. Apparently, this is a significant defect in this problem seeing how so many people are having the same problem with the same fridge. Has anyone reported to BBB? Im thinking class action lawsuit. Im getting ready to have to repair my kitchen floors as a result of this defect. I will be talking to my brother-in-law attorney about this and will post his response/recommendation. Whirlpool should stand behind their product and make this right.

After 2 months of owning this fridge (Whirlpool Model WRF993FIFM) it started making a horrible buzzing noise that you could hear all around the house, both ice makers stopped working, and it wasnt cooling properly. After three technician visits, and of course having to miss work to have the technicians come to my house, my fridge still doesnt work. The most recent visit today was from 2pm until almost 8pm, yes seriously 6 hours, and now the noise has gotten even louder and my ice makers still dont work. AND after the tech left, my carbon monoxide detectors were going off for almost an hour. We had to open all of our windows and sit outside to not DIE of carbon monoxide poisoning. So beyond livid with this situation. Its been a month since Ive had a properly working fridge. Whirlpool needs to do right and fix this situation. I will be calling tomorrow first thing.

On 11-29-2014 we were washing our laundry and our whirlpool washing machine started making a really loud noise so I went to investigate the problem. I open the bottom part of the washer to find out that the whole cement block to balance the drum was on the floor of the washer so I called the 1800 number on the machine and no one at whirlpool corporation wanted to even help. No one said sorry. No one said Let me see if I can help. No one. Every one I talked to they cant help at all. No one apologized once about the poor product that whirlpool sells and the defect that their products has. My washer is one year and one month old. So I can say truly with confidence that whirlpool product are the worst in the world plus their customer service even more. It is very sad after we paid all kind of money for our washer now I have to buy another one after one year and one month. Very bad customer service.

This dishwasher, compared to my old one, is very quiet but does a very poor job of cleaning. I now have to prerinse most all items. The silverware rack leaves many dirty items such as peanut butter off a knife. I probably waste more water on prerinse than what is saved by the washer.

I have always like the Whirlpool brand in general. It is a well known company and the products have always been of quality. I was harassed and tortured. I got an extended warranty on Whirlpool microwave oven but from the last six months, I was not able to use it. The original part worked for four years but from the last four months, engineers have tried to change the part and it was a duplicate one every time. It did not last for 15 minutes in front of the engineer. To date, the engineers are still not able to fix my oven so I havent been able to use it for the last four months. Does it mean that Whirlpool make duplicate parts too and just ditch the customer? Is this also included under Whirlpools code of ethics?

Water filtration unit was leaking only when someone got water. It pooled into the bottom of fridge and ran out under the fridge and because of the slope of the floor was running back towards the wall. We didnt notice until our laminate wood flooring was starting to swell up. It was probably leaking since the day we bought fridge brand new, but took us 4 months to notice. Whirlpool said they will not fix our flooring, only the fridge. We had to make a homeowners claim which we did. When the contractor moved the fridge back after replacing all flooring it starting leaking from the ice maker unit. Only when the ice tray filled it would gush out water. Our flooring is now ruined a 2nd time and Whirlpool will not fix the floor. Repairman said that Whirlpool used rigid parts in the water and ice maker units and tons of people are having the same problem. Since there is no flexibility in these parts they break when the fridge is moved. Whirlpool sucks and I am fighting with them and Lowes to get this fridge replaced with a non Whirlpool appliance. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

We purchased Whirlpool Gold Accubake, double ovens (gas) in 2005. Since then, we have experienced identical failures (8 to date) during the self-cleaning cycle in which the high temperature burns out the thermal fuse of the ovens. This requires two Sears technicians to repair the unit (it requires two technicians to pull the oven out as the fuse location is in the back of the unit) and leaves us without use of both ovens for approximately 2 weeks (scheduling parts delivery and technicians through Sears home repair is not an expedient process). After checking other consumer product websites, it has become clear to me that there is a known design defect with these ovens in which the thermal fuse is not adequately insulated from the high temperatures during self clean; it therefore trips and burns out during the self-clean cycle. While not having access to ovens for about two weeks/year on average may sound acceptable to Sears, the reality is that the problem has escalated in frequency since purchase. In 2013, we are going on our third repair of the same problem (that makes 6 weeks of non-usable oven time in one year) and Sears will not consider replacing the unit, despite: 1) our obvious dissatisfaction with a lemon unit, 2) a well documented history of the defect with this particular Whirlpool oven and 3) an ongoing and escalating repair cost to Sears (it is under their extended warranty so the repair cost is on them although we did pay for this service up front on our appliances).I would stay away from not only Whirlpool appliances but also Sears as there doesnt seem to be any regard for the customer experience and taking care of a product problem (the right way) with a known defect. Sears has an opportunity to make this problem go away quite easily and retain a customer - fix the problem permanently or just replace the defective unit. Unfortunately, my experience to date with Sears standing behind the products they sell provides me with little confidence that either will happen.

We live in Hawaii, so the price for our stacking closet size unit was exorbitant. It was over $1,000.00. It is small so the size of loads are small too. We bought one that is supposed to sense the load size and deliver the correct amount of water. It does NOT do this. Reviews online show complaints of this same nature. It does clean well but we have to do very small loads to get that.

I will never touch the premier Whirlpool Brand Again. This is the two door fridge + drawer freezer, model GI7FVCXWY0After about a year, and I think it lasted this long because the ice maker was off during winter (because unless you use it constantly you have a solid block of ice), after a year it stopped making ice and poured water out from the top of the fridge. Expensive extended warranty came and replaced the Ice Maker, which (about a year later) has just started leaking all over the floor (again). This I suspect was a protest against using all of the ice one day. It froze up, which causes the leak, froze solid items that were in the fridge compartment (and spoiled some items). The other design fault is while the right hand door will stay open, the left will not, it closes. But it does not close properly - just enough to make you think it is closed.Dangle beers in a nearby stream, keep your food in the cellar, dig a deep hole in the backyard, learn to eat all your food the day you buy it, but do not buy this fridge!

I have read most of the reviews and it seems like I have ALL those problems with my Whirlpool Cabrio, but I also need to add that there is rust around the bleach dispenser and I DONT use bleach. The inside is also rusted, but its not visible until you take a good look inside because its under the white paint but its all around the inside. So I had to stop using the machine because I now realize what was the cause of the damage done to some of our clothes. We all need to get our money back and have this washing machine picked up and thrown away!!!

I own an FG flame lock water heater and have been having the same problems with the pilot light not staying lit. This is very frustrating! I have searched many websites and am not able to find a replacement thermocouple for the stupid thing. Also, I have been told that the parts for the type of water heater that I own is no longer available. I tried to call the Whirlpool number a handful of times, but unfortunately, I was on hold the entire time and could not speak with a rep. I guess that explains all of the complaints I have read on here. I would like to be contacted or have help from someone regarding this matter! I would not recommend this product to anyone and I am very dissatisfied!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Set from a local store. Just over a year later, the washer got very loud like a jet engine. Called the registered repairman, he came out took a look and said he would get back to me. Called him 3 times over 3 weeks, no show (Hoodland Appliance). Called someone else, repaired it for $400.00. Called Whirlpool, they are not interested. 2 years later now and the machine is getting loud again. This is due to the spin throws water up and it is able to get out of the tub and down into the barring and the soap residue wears the barring out. Bad design. Called Whirlpool again and again they are not interested but can put me in touch with a repairman. I will not repair again but will use until dies and buy something else not related to Whirlpool. So much for energy efficiency.

The inside glass of the oven door shattered. I have not used the oven for months. Only the the top cooking burners have been used. Its a mystery to me!! I have read complaints where the glass shattered while the oven was in use or being cleaned, but have found none where this happened to a cold oven. The large front burner is too hot. Even on the lowest setting everything burns. You cannot simmer, only boil. The control knobs have (in my opinion) no safety mechanism. I thought that the control knobs on stoves needed to be child proofed, hard for a child to turn on. My last stove you had to push down quite hard then turn to the setting. Not this stove. I have to be so careful when Im cleaning the area around the knobs. The slightest pressure and the knob turns. When I first purchased the stove while cleaning it, I unknowingly turned the knob and the kitchen filled with gas before I realized what had happened. I called Whirlpool thinking something was broken. They sent out a repairman. Nothing was broken. That is the way it is made. Customer Service said they had had no other complaints about the knobs. I find that hard to believe. My toddler grandchild can turn on the stove with ease. Im sure other concerned parents etc. have had this complaint. To sum it up... I will probably never purchase a Whirlpool product again.

Ive been thru 2 new French door refrigerators with the icemakers in the door. Ive lost all of my food more than 6 times! There is a design flaw and they are no longer making the large models. I finally figured this out after reading multiple reviews from a lot of people with same/similar experiences. The compressor freezes then the loud noise all while the temp slowly lowers and ruining your food before you know whats happening. To add insult to injury... After ordering my THIRD replacement, their contracted installation company wont communicate with me to let me know when it will be delivered. Ive been without a fridge for 3 months! Calling them takes a full morning with hold times over an hour! I will never buy another product from them. I have a taboo LG French door with an ice maker in the door in my other home and it has been perfect for 7 years. Just be very careful and read reviews from people who have owned one for at least a year.

My kids were blaming dye in the detergent, & using Purex Crystals. I changed detergent to Armen hammer sensitive clear. Stopped using my beloved crystals. Wrong! Cleaned the rim @ the top of the agitator all the dirt & grime get ps trapped in the rims it helped some what. Additional problems occurred. From time to time started noticing unbalancing no matter the load size. Paint bubbling, peeling & rusting. The lid lock broken. Nightmare trying to get an appointment through Whirlpool. Referred to go to a dealer. Called Sears. Gave specific details whats wrong. Appointment 2 wks out. Service arrived, he had no idea why he was there. No info given. Then he said he doesnt have the part. He ordered it and said itll be sent to me approx 5 days. But wont be fix for another 3 wks. Same with 3 people from customer care. Informed this is not acceptable. Another problem now when unplugging it still stays on its hold electrical current. This can not be replaced until its deemed its broken & cant be fixed. I purchased a new home and then purchased 4 appliances, all Whirlpool Gold. In less than a year, the stoves electronic ignition and the microwave hood keypad went out. Since they were under warranty, a repairman replaced a bunch of parts and now they are working fine. One month after the refrigerator was out of warranty, the water line to the ice cube maker split about an inch and a half and water would spew out onto the hardwood floor under the unit. We were on vacation for all that month and didnt see any damage until one day there was a puddle in front of the refrigerator. When we pulled it out, we saw that the floor was ruined under the unit, the cabinet next to it black with mold and of course, the line had to be replaced. Whirlpool wasnt interested in the fact that the refrigerator had probably still been under warranty when the split occurred, only that we hadnt reported it before the warranty expired. Next to go was the water seal that goes on the inside of the door of the dishwasher. I was running it about a month after the refrigerator debacle and water came spewing out of the side. The seal had come out and nothing was stopping the water from exiting out the side of the door. Thats 4 for 4 in less than 15 months. I will never buy a Whirlpool product. They couldnt be any worse.

Just purchased Whirlpool top load large capacity washing machine with no agitator at Lowe’s three months ago. I sit at the kitchen table in my freshly washed exercise clothes and smell body odor. There were six exercise items in the load and supposedly enough soap. The load washed for 45 minutes last evening. Yard work clothes washed yesterday are not clean. I had to remove grass from the bottom of the tub. When I iron my smocks for work, since I work with animals, I pick pet hair off of them as I iron. Judging from other reviews, this torture won’t last long, before I need to replace this piece of junk. My last washer lasted 20 years. If it didnt leak water, it would still be running. I purchased a Whirlpool electric stove WFE540HOES 3 weeks ago from Best Buy. 2 Main complaints: Extended cooking time when using the oven. Food that should bake in 14 minutes was taking 25. Food that should bake in 30 minutes was taking 50, etc. The big issue was that the exterior of the stove was getting extremely HOT when using the oven. The area behind the handle and the storage drawer were so hot I had to use a towel to open it w/o getting burned. Thought it was a faulty stove so I exchanged it for the same model. Just got the replacement and its worse than the 1st one! The heat permeates from the bottom of the door and heats up the storage drawer below. The area behind the handle and the enamel edge of the stove get so hot. Its definitely a safety hazard if not fire hazard. Anyone else experience this??? Its going back!

Its now Nov 8 and Ive been officially dealing with this issue since Sept 26. This washer was installed in a new home. After less than 10 loads, my washer stopped draining and I was left with a load of towel soup for over a week while waiting for a service call. I still have the same defective non functioning washer sitting in my home and have been unable to do laundry at home in all that time. So far Ive spoken with 2 customer service representatives. The first was incapable of scheduling a service call. She clearly did not understand how to operate the database used for scheduling. I was finally able to schedule appointment on my own but had to wait a week before the technician was able to come by. It was determined that either the latch mechanism or the mother board or both are defective from the factory. The second was just plain dismissive and completely unhelpful. I sat on hold for about an hour each time before getting to speak to a person. Ive also received two canned emails in response to my poor review of this washer on the Whirlpool website. They basically blame COVID for the delays and state the parts delivery should take 3-4 weeks. I was originally told 14 working days for delivery of the parts. We are already past both deadline with no end in sight. At this point, Id like the defective washer replaced rather than repaired. And for the record, this was a new washer (less that one month old) installed in a new house that now stinks to high heaven because slimy, scummy water that will not drain out has been there since September 26. Id really just like for someone at Whirlpool to honestly care about this and take a moment to address this issue.

I had one of the first Maytag Neptunes. Loved it to pieces but finally had a problem and my beloved repair guy said it was almost 20 years old so to give up and move on. Obviously, cant be without a washer for very long so grabbed this Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer. One of the biggest disappointments ever! Clothes come out streaked and splotched, dont smell very fresh or clean even straight after having been washed, stains dont come out even with pre-treating, have to run everything on heavy duty, whites are getting grayer by the week, and all-around horrid performance.Im ready to give up my Starbucks, start packing my lunches for a couple months, skip whatever treats I have to in order to get back to a quality machine that can actually WASH CLOTHES. I wondered exactly what it was or wasnt doing so I stood over it for half an hour. Initially, it loads up about a gallon of water and then spits it out over the rotating drum of clothes. Then it stops and spins that water out. I suspect the design logic was that it would force that gallon of water thru the clothes taking some dirt out with it. It repeats that stupid process several times. Then it finally gets a few inches of water in the bottom and the vestigial agitator tries to move it around.I watched one hand towel lie on top like a dead weasel, never getting pulled down or pushed out or whatever it was supposed to do to get down among the other items and squish together. Life throws me everything from sick kids spewing body fluids to people coming home reeking of hydraulic and other industrial fluids. When I say clean I mean CLEAN. This piece of junk couldnt satisfactorily process half a dozen dust rags. Neptune, Im coming back with my hat in my hand and a whole new appreciation!

I bought my Whirlpool Convection oven in mid August 2019 from Lowes. I have had to call no less than 5 times about my NEW oven which I am extremely remorseful of buying. I am so unhappy with my experience mostly due to my expectation that my new oven would have been able to meet my demanding needs baking and cooking. I would have thought that it would have lasted longer than 4-5 months. The bottom left hinge is faulty which I am told is an undocumented problem for this particular oven. I noticed that it was having a problem when the oven wasn’t quite making a seal. Slowly it got worse until now it makes an initial click then I can open it about 5 to 6 inches and then have to lift it up so that I can open it without making a horrible noise and a dent in the frame. The first time I called was on Saturday Jan 4th. It took me 1 hour to get through to speak to a person. I asked why I couldn’t get a new door to the oven and they told me the hinges have to be installed separately because this model is made to be able to take the door off for cleaning purposes. They set me up for service on Wed Jan 8th between 12 and 4p. I wasn’t as unhappy at this point. I even got a text saying that the appliance company would be coming between 12 and 2. At 12 when I woke up after working nights, I got a message saying that they hadn’t received the part yet and that there would be no point in them coming. I called Whirlpool again and they told me that the part was on backorder and that in fact the part had to be fabricated and it may take up to 10 business days but that they would have the part sent directly to my house. By this stage I am very unhappy.I called back this morning and told the person that I would rather have a new oven or my money back and that my less expensive and less decorative oven that came with my house lasted me 20 yrs. I get a lot of “I’m sorry” and “I apologize” but that doesn’t fix my problem. I also told them that now the frame of the oven is being dented so I am going to have a less than perfect appliance which is no fault of my own. The only info the person could give me is the tracking number of the part they were able to locate which would be coming Fedex.I tracked it and it was due to come no later than Tuesday night. So I called the original service company in my area who told me to call to set up the service time when the part came in. I figured I would get a jump on it and call. They told me that they were all booked up this week and I would have to wait until next week. Do you think that this is how your customers should be treated? I feel as though I am being punished by choosing to buy an appliance from Whirlpool. I then tried calling back to set up an appt with a new company but the wait time was too long. I had just worked nights and needed to get some sleep. I called back this afternoon and again had to explain the whole situation AGAIN. I was able to set up an appt with a different company for Monday between 12 and 4 which happens to be on Martin Luther King day…so I am hoping it is not a mistake.Do you think this is fair treatment for a customer who just bought a brand new oven less than 5 months ago? Would you like this type of service? Would this give you any confidence to buy products from Whirlpool? I don’t believe that I would be able to recommend Whirlpool in good faith. The people who I have talked to have never been rude or disrespectful however, I feel as though my unhappiness is just par for the course. I feel as though it is just my tough luck and “oh well so sorry” instead of the attitude that you want to make everything right as quickly as possible. I ask myself if the problem was the store I chose to buy from? If I should have gone to Sears and bought one of their products or where I went wrong.

I have had my Cabrio set for two years only and the washer has a error code of F6 and E3... pretty much does not work properly and need to swap out main control board which is about 200-300 for the part. I’m very disappointed in this product for as much I have spent on it. My old school top loader lasted longer than this piece of junk! I believe the steam from the wash is going up into the control board and messing it all up! Water and electricity does not mix! Maybe they need to relook at their products. I want my money back!!!

A Whirlpool hot water heater in an apartment I own would not stay lit. A plumber came to service and told me I needed a part from Whirlpool and that no one in town carried them. I called Whirlpool and after providing all information about the unit, she informed me that she would not send me the part because the serial number was not registered in my name. I explained to her that I purchased the building and did not install the water heater that a prior owner had installed it. All I wanted was a repair part. The Whirlpool rep refused to sell me a part unless I could provide a bill of sale where I purchased the tank. The part cost $41 which I was more than happy to pay for regardless of any warranty coverage. I have an obligation to provide services to my tenants. Being unable to repair the tank for a problem which appears to be commonplace for this brand, I had to replace with a new tank at a cost of $1380.00.

I bought a Whirlpool Partner II 5 and a half years ago. It was always noisy and took very long to run a cycle. It started to malfunction after 2 years. We bought a new computer for it and a new control panel for the touch keys. It still kept not running a cycle fully. We found a YOUTUBE video that showed how to reset the model by pressing a combination of Normal and Heated Dry and that seemed to fix it for 2 years. It has stopped working again. Now it seems that the heating element is out. It doesnt clean at all, a scum film has covered the inside of the dishwasher and even mold spots are appearing. Ive had to wait extremely long times on hold to talk with an agent. My option is to hire a repair tech to come out and repair it and I pay for the parts. Seems like a bad deal since Ive already spent over a hundred on repairing it and a lot of hours. I will never buy a Whirlpool brand appliance again.

My Cabrio was built in April 2016, its now Feb 2019, and its not working. Shows error code of LF, the inlet water value is bad. I bought a Sears protection plan, repairman comes out, tells me no-one has the part anywhere, its backordered and no way to know when it will deliver. Sounds like a scam so Sears doesnt have to fix it and Whirlpool makes little to none of the part so you have to buy a new machine. This machine also takes forever to wash clothes, sometimes part of the clothes come out dry because not enough water. Its a huge tub, but of no use because theres not enough water to clean properly therefore, you have to do small loads. I always put it on high water because the other features like, quick wash & normal do not give but only little streams of water! The first one I had delivered made a funny noise from day one so Sears replaced it the next day. This one has NOT even lasted 3 yrs. There needs to be new legislation placed upon these companies with regards to the products they make. It should be illegal to make such junk and be able to charge high dollar for it and it doesnt operate well or last very long. They are laughing all the way to the bank on everyones dollar, intentionally making products that last less than a few years! I Will NOT purchase Whirlpool or any of their products again! They owe me a new Cabrio and Im going to make sure I get it and get my moneys worth! DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS JUNKER! DONT BE FOOLED BY ITS PRETTY SLEEK LOOK.

I purchased a washer Type: 587-08, MOD: 1CWTW48004QO, Serial # C21920164 about two years ago. The appearance of the machine is in an excellent condition but its not working. The tub inside is slanted and makes a loud banging sound when rinsing. It is no longer in warranty. All my appliances are Whirlpool brand because my mom has items that are still 15years and over. This machine that I purchased did not even give me a quarter of that. The prices of these items are expensive and increasing all the time but the quality, durability and lifetime is diminishing at a faster rate. I am worried about all the other items I purchased: dryer, refrigerator, stove and microwave. I am most dissatisfied. I STRONGLY believe that this unfair and unlawful....I work hard and save up to buy these items to only get two years from it......Whirlpool please render some assistance!!!

I have owned a Whirlpool Gold Series Refrigerator for one year and 9 months. During that time I have had 7 repair issues. Each of the past ones took at least two weeks to repair. This past repair has to be redone because the new parts are also bad. The part is now on factory backorder. It will be at least two months for this to be repaired. Whirlpool says its too bad, we just have to deal with being without a working refrigerator for months. Do not buy this product!!! The warranty only means that you are forced to wait months for repairs. They will not replace, refund, or even extend the warranty for all this downtime. You have no recourse with the company.

We bought a Whirlpool refrigerator in January at Home Depot. In July we started noticing that the freezer doesnt work. The ice maker doesnt work, everything melt away. Frozen items were lost. We constantly have to dry the floor since it is leaking water. We called whirlpool on July 27 and they send someone to check it out the following day. He reported that we need a new freezer door. I call for a follow up, I was told that it will take 6-8 weeks before we get a new door and part for the ice maker. We recently called to follow up on the status of the door just to find out that the order didnt get process until mid August. In the meanwhile, the fridge is having condensation. Water is everywhere inside. Fruits are being rotten because of too much moisture. We called again and they send out the same technician. The technician reported that the fridge will not work properly until freezer is fix. We call whirlpool again just for them to tell us to wait for the part, and gave us an extra 6 month warranty.

This machine does not clean the clothes well, keeps an odor even after using Clorox (probably due to water inside that never leaves), and does not spin the clothes well. Every washing is longer than traditional washers and then I must use the spin-only cycle twice (adding another 30 minutes). I must also shake the inside of the tub to get the spin to work at all. The tech came out and re-calibrated, but to no advantage. Terrible machine and should be, as one viewer said, under recall, in my opinion. NOT WORTH THE MONEY -- and I am very disappointed in Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set bought 5/25/2012 - The washing machine started beeping during the drain cycle and I have to reset it. After messing with it for around 30 minutes I can finally get it to drain. Then last night the dyer started making a loud squeal. I called and it is not under warranty anymore, so I have to flip the bill. My last $75.00 set from a church sale lasted 15 years. I paid $1,331 and this is the worst piece of crap I have ever bought. Lowes will not fix the problem when there is 1000s of complaints. I would have never paid this much, if I knew it wasnt going to last!UPDATED ON 05/15/2015: Whirlpool sent out Appliance Hospital to diagnose the problems. The washing machine needs a new tub, seals, circuit boards, drain motor etc and the dryer needs everything + an idler pulley because the original one disintegrated. The part they want me to buy is the same one that already failed. The cost to fix it, is over the amount I paid. REALLY? Somebody needs to do something to help the consumers. Blogging doesnt seem to help. I am handicapped and I have to go to the laundry mat now because I cant afford another set. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

We bought our washer about 3 years ago brand new from Lowes. Like others, I have had problems with holes in clothing and spots that looked like grease. It worked well up until recently when we noticed some brown splatters on the floor. Shortly after it made a loud noise like a plane taking off and the load would become unbalanced. We researched and found many people were having issues with the bearings going bad. My husband was going to order parts to fix it but you have to have a special tool that is expensive to buy... It was going to be almost $200 to repair ourselves! He called a washing machine repair man and he said he doesnt even touch them because the repair wont last. We purchased this model in July of 2019 and have had nothing but problems with it since. The design is really bad - if you set the temperature on the ideal setting, everything on the top shelf freezes solid. If you reduce the setting to the one below ideal, your freezer doesnt get cold enough to keep ice cream hard. The ice cubes are a little more than half the size of our last Whirlpool refrigerator and the unit is noisy. Weve had Whirlpool out to work on it 4 or 5 times in the first 6 months and twice weve had to throw away food due to the unit not cycling on and off properly. Purchased this beautiful sleek Cabrio washer in May 2012 from Appliance Smart, with its modern looking glass top, it looked so nice. The washer itself works ok for now, but it does unbalance a lot, thats not main issue. We deal with that. The poor design of holding that sleek glass top in is the problem. After a little over two years, it started cracking at the hinge that is just mounted in Plastic which holds the whole lid down, including the heavy glass. The glass started raising up, causing steam to escape. The lid is rubbing and very difficult to open. Appliance Smart is gone now.. We called the service repair person about 6 months ago, he looked at it, said its a problem that is not covered on our warranty and it would be approx $350.00 to repair!! So today, tomorrow or next week it will stop working because the lid is popping off! Its a terrible design, dont be fooled by its sleek look. The manufacturer takes no responsibility for this major design flaw. Beware, the very thing you need to be fixed wont be covered under warranty, lemon law, or just good customer service. We have owned several Whirlpool appliances and doubt that we will own one again, due to the way this issue was handled by Whirlpool.

Ive had my Whirlpool water heater for almost 4 years now and for the last year and a half, I had to have the pilot light lit at least 5 times. A couple of weeks ago, it went out again and I called. This time I was told to replace the thermocouple. I did that and guess what? Still no hot water. Im a single parent with 2 kids and weve been boiling water just to bath.A service tech came out and told me I need to replace the tank altogether. I called Whirlpool service and they told me it was nothing they can do. Like many of you, I got this tank from Lowes and they will not do anything about it either. Our Whirlpool Duet Washer started sounding like a jet engine 13 months after purchase. We spent $800 on a washer and it started to get very loud during spin cycle. After reading several reviews online with other people describing the same problem, figured it was the bearings. $800 to do my laundry for 13 months kind of crazy right. It would have cost almost $300 for the extended warranty through Whirlpool. In order to have it repaired, the cost would be around $600 because the drum and bearings need to be replaced at this point. Whirlpool’s customer service was no help and pretended they had never heard of this problem. However, reading reviews online tells me otherwise. I can buy a new Samsung on sale for $623, so that is the route we will probably take. We feel extremely cheated by what was once a well-known, reputable company. We will not buy Whirlpool/Maytag again until they put more emphasis on quality products with a cost efficient, longer duration warranty plan.

I not very politely said that they should pay me for all my emotional abuse. They offered me another option saying they would pay for a service company to come out and look again. However, I would have to pay the labor and material cost. Since I have a stackable unit and it would take 2 technicians I would have to pay $90 for the second person. I was so mad that I called Whirlpool back and they refused to offer me that $350 charge and just said sorry. I are fortunate to have a lake house which needs a new washer. Guess what? It will NOT be a Whirlpool product. I wish I could go to the store where I purchased this holy terror and picket!

We have a Whirlpool Gold fridge that was manufactured in 2009. MOD: GS2KVAXS01. SER: HRY0570897 and it has not been cooling properly for the last few weeks. Some days it is fine, the next day not and we have had to throw our a lot of rotting food. We got the fridge checked out and were told the Electronic Control Box for the fridge was not working. My question is, why would a Whirlpool Gold fridge that costs $1800 or so have such a large issue with 3 years? Its practically a brand new fridge and Im outraged that a large part of the fridge is not working. I understand parts break and there is warranty but its pretty bad that after the warranty expires the control box would become defective. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer and solely buy the brand and this break upsets me very much. Especially since replacing the part will cost me $400 plus labor, we are talking about a part costing 30% of the total fridge cost! That is ridiculous. I am hoping there is something you can do to rectify this, as a fridge manufactured by what I thought was a great company should not cause such an issue and I would like to continue to buy Whirlpool products but not if this is the case.We have called Whirlpool customer service many times to be ignored, berated, told I cannot speak to a supervisor and nothing will be done. Never in my entire life have I ever known a company so horrible to exist. I have had bad service before but this takes the cake. Plus, no company that I have ever dealt with would ignore you and not provide any discount or remedy. I cant believe this is a big brand with the way they carry on. You would assume they would be some one person owned company who doesn’t have a penny to spare. I don’t respect this company at all and expect a resolution because they are truly insulting in all the channels.

Very disappointed with this refrigerator. Not even 10 years old and we have had it repaired 2 times plus my husband had to dismantle ice maker and take the back off inside of the freezer, using the blow dryer to thaw out the tube and manually blow in a tube to open the drain. The water leaking to the bottom of the fridge and into cold meat drawer and fruit keeper drawer. It eventually runs onto the floor if I dont catch it. This has been an ongoing problem for 6 years now. Today was another bill to the repairman for this problem. Very disgusted. This time he only thawed it out, the time before he replaced a part and thawed it out. I know he will be back because thawing is only a temporary fix because my husband did this numerous times, like every couple of months. Never again will I buy a Whirlpool refrigerator! I gave my daughter my old refrigerator and its over 20 years old and never had a repair! My current refrigerator is Model # ETICHMXKB03 with ice maker. Top freezer.

I bought this piece of junk Whirlpool Cabrio washer two years ago and it’s been nothing but junk. Just like everyone else, this thing has never gotten my clothes clean no matter what I do. Anything with a drawstring or straps gets ripped up or stretched out. It’s loud and shakes, even though it’s leveled. Now, to top it off, it’s leaking water from the basket seal. I called Whirlpool and they couldnt give a damn. Since it’s out of warranty, it’s my problem, even though she said they know this machine has a lot of problems. So now Im stuck either fixing this thing or buying a new washer. Every appliance in my house is a Whirlpool and Ive had nothing but problems with several of them. I thought when I bought the brand it was a good brand and they stood behind their stuff. Boy, was I wrong! I will never buy Whirlpool again! They should recall this washer!

We bought this Whirlpool electric range in late July when our old stove literally blew up at breakfast. Unlike the local big stores, a small local store had this in stock. They assured us that the oven was self-cleaning. It is not self cleaning. It only cleans the bottom. We have spoken both to the local store and Whirlpool several times. The local store will do nothing. Whirlpool sent us a sponge and a plastic scraping stick. They told us to clean it BY HAND every time we used the oven and were very condescending. We are 75 and 77; we are not about to climb into an oven to attempt cleaning an oven that will not clean. Stay away from the Aqua Clean products like the plague. They do nothing, and Whirlpool will also do nothing. Next step -- court.

Purchased this set in January of this year 2016. The loudness of this machine struck me first along with the constant banging of the pipes in the basement when filling with warm water. The agitator is very loud. Thought I was trading up from a 10 year old Whirlpool front loader set. There is hardly any water in the washer when running a full load. I take clothes out that are not only a twisted tight mess but in some spots are not even wet!!! The dark clothes inevitably need to be rewashed because there is white residue on them!!! I have used the pods and liquid and it doesnt seem to matter, happens with both. Customer service has no answers and say theyve never heard this before. How can this washer wash clothes when there is no water and little if any movement of clothes??? And how is it that we are all saying the same exact things and Whirlpool is not being held accountable??? I DONATED my working fine set to a dog rescue and am now stuck with a brand new machine that works PERFECTLY HORRIBLY. So who is watching you Whirlpool???

If you are on this website, keep reading. You will definitely find many people that have your same problem. We purchased our refrigerator 5 years ago. Since then we have had a leak inside of it which is gradually forming mold that I have to cleanup. The ice maker and water dispenser do not function for months at a time. I just purchased 2 drawers for the same reason as the review on May 5, 2016. The tabs break off of the front panels and the panel falls off of the drawers. Theres no way to pull them out. We paid over $200.00 for two drawers!I spoke with customer service at Whirlpool and read them the 2016 review. Their answer was that you should not believe everything you read. My answer was, How cant I? Its happening to the refrigerator I own. They just kept giving robotic answers. The conversation was that of someone that is in denial of having a problem. They dont care. Instead of at least offering a discount on the drawers, she offered me an over $400.00 one year warranty. Pathetic! Whirlpool has just lost another customer.

I bought this dishwasher in Nov. 2018 to replace one that was barely working. I have enjoyed using it much more than my old one. Its very quiet and does a great job of cleaning dishes, pans and silverware. The only problem we had was installing it. The leveling screws do not hold their height adjustment when the dishwasher is pushed across the floor during installation because the leveling screw pad was changed from steel to plastic and the tapped hole for the leveling screw is too loose. The effect of this - whereas the steel pad would slide the plastic pad will grab, turn and move the leveling screw out of adjustment. Especially if its tapped hole is too loose. So we went to Home Depot and bought 4 5/16 nuts and used them as lock nuts on the 4 leveling screws. This cost 50 cents. Once we installed it everything worked perfectly. It does take longer to complete a cycle than my old one - 3 hours vs. 2 but it uses less water and does a great job of cleaning. You must use a drying agent with your dish soap or it wont get dry enough. Also, if you use the short 1 hour wash it wont have as much time to dry and some dishes wont be completely dry. I usually wait to do a full wash with the normal cycle - 3 hour.

I purchased a Whirlpool gas stove model #WFG540H0AH from Sears in March 2103. Since that time, the oven has repeatedly broken. After two major repairs, the repair company said the fas venue (?) suspect board was defective and needed to be replaced by the manufacturer. After 3 weeks of back and forth calls with Whirlpool customer service, the only solution they provided was for me to purchase a new stove at a discount with no compensation for installation, the gas connection kit, or haul-away of the old appliance. The original stove cost me $1100 including the installation, haul-away and taxes. The replacement option would have cost me $800 and still did not included haul-away, the gas installation kit, or taxes. Hardly an affordable solution. Whirlpool at no time addressed that a part on the stove was deemed defective.

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from both Whirlpool and this unit. I purchased it from a local dealership and paid $881.00 which included tax and delivery cost. In less than 2 years, it broke. Whirlpool does not offer a warranty on the unit. After having a Whirlpool repair person come out for a cost of $75.00, I was informed that the parts to replace would cost $800.00 not counting additional labor cost which was TBD. I contacted Whirlpool and went from Agent (Phylicia) to supervisor (Ashley) to Manager (Carol **). The best offer I was given was to buy the parts at a discount of $400.00 which did not include tax, delivery or labor. So it would have run approx. $550.00 to over $600.00 to fix a $771.00 washer. My next letter is to Jeff Fettig (553 Benson Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022/ CIO of Whirlpool) to let him know how impressed I am with his product and customer service support. The next Whirlpool item I buy will be never. Take this as a word of warning to go Maytag or any other vendor because Whirlpool will not support you once the sale has been completed. Good Luck.

I attempted to use the dishwasher tonight and it is completely dead once again. I usually have had good luck whirlpool appliances. After all these problems will no longer be using this brand. I bought all new Whirlpool appliances. In my opinion Whirlpool has the best product at the best price. I don't buy anything but Whirlpool. My new bottom freezer refrigerator has more room than my previous side by side. The bottom freezer is a great feature and works very well for me. The shelves are adjustable. There is plenty of room in the doors. It has a meat drawer and humidity control vegetable bins. I was worried I wouldn't have enough room for my food but I am happy to report there is plenty of room. The freezer has the pullout shelves and automatic ice maker. It has a great appearance and takes less room than my previous side by side. Overall, it is well worth the price and I am not sorry I bought this refrigerator in the least. It can't be beat.

We spent a lot of time researching to make sure we were making the right choice, found the one that was right for us. When it got delivered there was a problem though, the plastic scratch protector film they put on the doors for delivery left an adhesive residue that looked like dull spots all over our new shiny black doors. I immediately opened up the owners manual to see how they recommend removing this blotchy sticky residue, assuming we werent the first ones to ever come across this problem, unfortunately they only provide generic cleaning tips. So I went to their website and found what I was looking for. I tried all of the cleaning methods they provide, none of them even came close to working. So I grabbed some adhesive remover and tried that, it worked great to remove the residue however my microfiber cloth (which they recommend explicitly) started leaving scratches all over the finish.I called the customer service to see about getting a new door delivered, thinking this wont be more than a 5 minute phone call since I had followed all of their steps they provide both in the owners manual and on their website. Heres where I find out that their policy DOES NOT cover scratches/cosmetic damage, period. I tried reasoning with them, I had them read their own recommended cleaning procedures, and we both concluded that I had followed their procedures to the T! You might think that if the all of the typical procedures didnt resolve the issue, that would be the point where the customer service reps would have the ability to make a decision that satisfy the customer, you would be wrong! They kept telling me over and over that their policy doesnt cover cosmetic, therefore there was nothing they could do. It was delivered with a defect of sorts, how is the customer responsible for that? The only way I can see it having worked out in my favor is if I had never tried to clean it myself and immediately called customer service, I still fear they would have given me the same line of cosmetic damages are not covered even if I would have tried each procedure with them walking me thru it over the phone. Lesson learned, I will never purchase another Whirlpool product!

The exhaust fan for the gas range runs when using the microwave. The noise is loud and very aggravating and there is no way to turn it off. From what I can find the older models there was an option to turn it off. A couple years ago we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8000 top-load, high-capacity, washing machine based upon good claims of the salesman at Lowes - Appliance Dept. This was not an inexpensive machine. However, this washing machine failed to live up to representations and performance is poor. However, biggest complaint is that clothes are able to get stuck between drum and the unique agitating device which results in holes and tears in material. This is a significant design flaw and were not sure why more people dont complain about this rather significant design flaw. Of course, there are other shortcomings... but destruction of clothes is a serious problem. While this machine is in excellent condition, it will be replaced with a more traditional washing machine with vertical agitator ASAP.

We purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model Number WRS555SIHZ06 Serial Number HRA2506806 on July 15th 2021 from Lowes. First one from Lowes came off the truck damaged so working out of a cooler in the kitchen for 2 more weeks. Now 4 months later the compressor is out and all the food spoiled like $400 bucks gone and food is expensive these days. I called and Whirlpool said no food allowance and no replacement. Fridge can be brought over - so repairman will come out in 6 days and then say he has to order parts then I wait two more weeks then the repair. So 3 weeks without a fridge with the holidays coming up and people to feed and food to cook. This is going to be interesting. I hate Whirlpool Refrigerator - never again will I purchase one of this appliances. The GE I had for 12 years and no problem at all for 12 years. What is going on with these companies????
