My not yet 3yr old ($2100.00) Whirlpool refrigerator started having problems. I thought it was related to the ice maker. When the repairman came out, he said it had leaked the Freon, so I thought it should have been a simple fix. Boy was I wrong. It turns out it has a sealed system so no one can access this to fix it. It is now junk and I have to buy a new one. I will never purchase Whirlpool anything ever again and I will also tell anyone who will listen about my experience. My repairman said this happens all the time, and 7 or 8 yrs ago Whirlpool went from being one of the top models to being junk.

Whirlpool® Gold® 5.8CuFt Capacity | GAS Stainless - This was not an inexpensive stove. The self cleaning oven function is a total failure. You are not supposed to use oven cleaner on the glass, it now has obscured the view into the oven. The top of the stove is very difficult or impossible to clean. The knobs are a dangerous issue. They will fall off at the slightest touch and the stainless markers around the knob are just a stick on label. The oven temperature is not accurate. The bottom drawer is completely rust spots on the inside. What more can I say. Oh I know. Whirlpool your quality is a disgrace and I want a refund.

Purchased our Whirlpool Gold Oven in October of 2013 from Best Buy. The oven works fine, but using the oven to make pizza on March 30th of 2014, a fire started in the drawer under the oven. The oven was set at 400 degrees. Several oven mitts were stacked in the drawer. There was no major damage done to the range, other than a bit of discoloration to the white trim, but we will never put anything in the drawer under the oven and would advise others to do the same.

I had a Whirlpool Natural Gas Water Heater professionally installed on 2-27-2107. This unit came with a Honeywell controller and thermopile assembly. Today is 05-18-2019 and the unit is not inoperative. The pilot is lit but the burner wont light. Here are the issues that I have come across so far: When I go to the Whirlpool site there is no direct link to Whirlpool water heaters, just kitchen appliances and washer/dryers. When I click on parts and accessories link it gives links to washers, dryers or pedestals. Again... No information about water heaters. I scroll down to the bottom of this page and I see a link to All Replacement Parts When I click that it takes me to another site managed by RepairClinic. When I enter the model number for the water heater it says Not Found. I entered the part number for the thermopile on the tag on the orange wire #321165-002 and 100078039 and again it returns as Part Not Found. Its obvious that Whirlpool is putting little effort into supporting their water heaters or their customers. I called their support line and they were able to order the thermopile assembly for $55 plus $27.95 in shipping to get it here by Tuesday. Today is Saturday. So that means almost 4 days without hot water. And since this water heater was a warranty replacement for a previous one that went bad they will not cover the cost of replacement parts for the thermopile. Lesson learned: No more Whirlpool purchases for any of their appliances.

After 7 attempts to fix my 6-year-old Whirlpool Front Load Washer (original price $991.00) I had to trash it. Then I stupidly bought another Whirlpool Front Loader (WFW75HEFW) Feb 2017. It has not worked properly since day 1. The clothes come out dripping wet. At first I thought I was doing something wrong. I tried every cycle, limited amount of clothing and ran additional spin cycles to no avail. Finally I gave up and called for service.Whirlpool is very much aware that a number of their machines came off the line with defective spin bearings but they wont admit to it. Instead I am expected to have it repaired! It involves the entire inside of the machine being rebuilt. Its a 2 man job that will take 3-4 hours. This is totally unacceptable and it is obvious Whirlpool does not make a quality product nor do they value customer satisfaction. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PURCHASE A WHIRLPOOL WASHER. They are difficult to work with and I for one will never purchase or recommend any of their products. I purchased this washer from Home Depot and now my only hope is that they will honor my intention of purchasing a non-defective product. If not, I guess Im in for another miserable experience with a Whirlpool product.

Bought Model# wtw4800xq4 washer @ Lowes 9/01/13. Started having problems within months at our beach cottage unrented, our use only, no more than 4 small loads a month. Replaced circuit board, still same problem - stuck in rinse, never drains, wont spin. Another company came out, replaced solenoid. Thank God we bought year extended warranty. Quit again. Have to wring out clothes by hand, rinse out soap in sink. Another company comes, replaces shifter, breaks again. I go to Lowes, demand new unit. They send another company out, broke next day 1 load later. Got new washer from them same model. Within months problems start again. Now broken again. After new shifter 3 months ago, songs like rocks in coffee can. PIECE OF JUNK. CALLING again for service after Christmas. Absolutely disgusted with Whirlpool and the whole lack of admission of design flaws. NEVER WHIRLPOOL, new mantra here.

Whirlpool gas range model WDF560SAFT bisque color, purchased in June 2020 from Home Depot online. After a 3.5 month wait range was delivered September 12, 2020 and installed. Have used the oven less than 5 times. Standing in my kitchen yesterday and heard a pinging noise, noticed chips of the finish all over my floor, it was chipping inside the top of the oven door, overnight the exterior top of the door was also chipping, bits of finish flying all over my kitchen! Have been on hold with Home a depot Cust. Serv. for almost 60 min. Will attempt to return to a Home Depot. Not sure what to do short of complaining about lousy Whirlpool product. Next time will come to Consumer Affairs and research.

Refrigerator stopped cooling... Paid $200 to have it diagnosed... Cost more than a new refrigerator to get fixed...$14,000. Refrigerator was 7 years old, energy star. How can it be energy efficient if it was made to last only seven years? How much energy is wasted making new ones to replace the broken ones, that cost too much to fix. Energy star. What a scam.

There is a chronic and well-known problem with recent French door, bottom freezer refrigerators sold by Whirlpool, including the the brand names KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Maytag, and Amana. The problem is caused when the defrost drain freezes, preventing defrosted water from reaching the evaporation pan. After enough water builds up, it overflows along the front of the refrigerator. In my particular case, we have wood floors and they were ruined by the water. After doing some investigation on the internet, I have learned that this problem affected approximately 1,500 model numbers sold under these names. These model numbers are listed in a Technical Service Pointer issued by Whirlpool. In August 2013, after experiencing several years of problems with these units, Whirlpool issued a Technical Service Pointer W10632338, advising service technicians that a new P Trap drain tube kit was now available, and suggesting that the defective duck bill check valve should be replaced by this new part. The problem for years had been that the rubber duck bill check valve would, over time, become sticky (or tacky) and would then not open - causing water to build up above it. Eventually, the water would freeze and since newly defrosted water could no longer escape, it would build up and eventually overflow. From what Ive seen online, plus a conversation with the Sears technician who come out to diagnose and repair my leak, I am convinced there are many thousands of customers who have experienced this problem. Because it takes a while for the rubber check valve to become sticky and no longer open, it is not uncommon for the problem to not appear until after the standard one-year warranty has expired. From reports, Whirlpool has sometimes acknowledged the problem and effected repair of refrigerators no longer under warranty. But what about those customers, like me, who have experienced water damage to floors and cabinets? Shouldnt Whirlpool be liable for those repairs, too? Id be interested to know if anyone knows of plans for a class action lawsuit.

55 Gal Electric New in 2003 / Limited Lifetime Warranty - I paid quite a bit more initially at Lowes for this unit. Its stainless lined. I have had numerous problems since purchase. I had to replace the sensing element in the Smart Box in 2006. Then the lights started flashing again making a humming sound in the box. I took each piece apart in smart box and cleaned them, which seemed to help. Then the upper element that is also stainless that requires a special wrench to replace went bad according to the blinking lights. Lights stopped after several resets. Now, the water is boiling out of the top of heater and they tell me its the seal in the element that I never replaced. The cover for the element is off. Water cannot possibly build up and force out the top of the cover of tank. I am not an idiot, yet they tell me that is most likely the problem. They didnt listen to me long enough to properly assess my concern. Every plumber I talk to says its the separation of the liner inside the heater. Nonetheless, I have a water problem now in the basement and have never heard back from Whirlpool as promised with troubleshooting guide on an email. I am sick of calling and getting the runaround with every issue. The warranty is horrible for the consumer. Sure, you have a limited lifetime warranty, but when you cant get proper information when you need it, what good is it? Made in America is why I bought the product. I also need a new washer but will not be searching in the Whirlpool line due to their lack of care with an important issue with my heater.

The damper switch at the top of my water heater, one I purchased at Lowes stopped working. I talked to someone at the local store, and I was told I had to contain the manufacturer. I called the number on the front of my unit. The tech talked my husband through the restart process...not once, but on two separate occasions. We were told that because it was intermittent, something they decided Over the Phone, they could do nothing. They would neither send a replacement part nor a technician. By the time we had to call back two days later, restart was impossible. JUST to get the part, a specialty piece, we now have to pay for expedited shipping! And either install ourselves, or wait 5 days After Arrival (!!), to get the stupid thing fixed! If they had sent the part out originally when we asked, we wouldnt have to wait for hot water or pay anything for a warrantied piece! Its a racket. Stay away!!!

I just wanted to post a quick response to a problem that so many people are having with their Whirlpool FG1H5040T3NOV Hot Water Heater. The biggest problem is the Pilot Light Wont Stay Lit. Ive had this water heater for many years now (since 2005) and two days ago we didnt have any hot water. I checked the heater and found that the pilot light was out and that when I lit the pilot light with the igniter, it wouldnt stay light. This could have been a number of problems causing this issue but heres what I did to get it fixed. I looked around on the internet and saw that many people had this same problem and several years ago Whirlpool gave out warranty replacement upgrade kits to fix it. I called Whirlpool support, gave them my serial number and mentioned the upgraded kit. Unfortunately, my 9-year warranty expired a few months ago and I am no longer able to get the upgrade kit for free. Apparently this upgrade kit was part of a settlement for this water heater that was sold through Lowes. The upgrade kit has a few enhancements including an adapter to allow the use of a standard right hand threaded thermocouple as well as a larger pilot light window and added safety thermal switch. This is definitely an improvement over the old.Anyway, I looked at Lowes website for this upgrade kit and their description and internal part number is slightly different but it is the same thing as confirmed by Whirlpool. Whirlpools part number is 6910813 for the conversion kit. Lowes calls this part American Water Heater Company Gas Enhancement Kit 5040T NG. This kit is only $35 which isnt bad. So, I went to Lowes, purchased the kit. The instructions are included and are even good for a novice. It took me about an hour to complete the changeover. Youll need to remove the old burner and orifice to use them on the new kit. I then checked for gas leaks. I lit the pilot and when I turned on the heater, the burner lit right up. All is good now!

I bought a Whirlpool 3.4 Cu Ft. Top Load Washer, Model: WTW4800XQ on Sunday. Today is Tuesday morning, but the machine broke last night. It lasted for about 5 loads and they were not big loads, unbalanced, and yes I had the right amount of soap. Whirlpool is saying that I washed something that was not machine washable. However, that is simply not true. I washed the bathroom rugs (which have been washed many times before) and they are saying the pump is clogged. I will keep this brief because many of our issues on our 18-month-old washer are in other reviews. The anger I feel towards Whirlpool Customer Service and the logic they use in providing repairs on a “goodwill” basis are unbelievable. After a Whirlpool certified appliance repair person diagnosed our fairly new washer as requiring the entire guts to be replaced... transmission, bucket, etc., we were told the repair bill would be over $1,300! Are you kidding me... the washer only cost in the mid $500 range, and now Whirlpool is going to do us a big favor and cover that outrageous bill! I told the customer service supervisor to please give us a new washer and take away our broken washer and use it for parts (if there any good parts left in this miserable machine). His reply “thats not going to happen”. He used this phrase to us at least 20 times during our service call until I finally told him I thought his attitude was aggressive and demeaning. I refuse to be bullied by a major manufacturer for a substandard product.I can only warn you when considering Whirlpool (and every major appliance in our two homes are Whirlpool) that you should use due diligence in your selection. We paid extra to upgrade all our Whirlpool appliances in our homes and I will never make that mistake again. And don’t get me started on the white film that covers my dark clothes. They say I use too much detergent... not true. I am not stupid and understand the HE requirement to cut way back on soap.

I have tried to clean the oven three times and the stains from pie drippings are still not coming clean. We bought a Whirlpool French door fridge model WRF989SDAM00 in 2013 and were impressed by how it looked in our kitchen. Its December 2015 and things have started to go wrong. First the freezer stopped freezing items completely and found out that ice had built up on the cooling tubes inside the rear freezer wall. Had to be taken apart and thawed with a heat gun. Now the freezer freezes on and off and the ice maker is not making ice properly and leaking all over the left side of the fridge. Went to Sears {place of purchase} and we were asked immediately if we had purchased the extended warranty. We hadnt and were told Sears could do nothing and that these newer fridges have a tendency to have trouble within the first couple of years and thats why they recommend the extended warranties. Really a $2500 dollar fridge a couple of years? Had a local appliance repairman look at it and he said the compressor was bad. $500.00 to fix. Boy do I regret buying this thing. These big companies just walk all over us consumers.

Own Whirlpool GB2FHDXWS04 refrigerator for 14 months. From the beginning, the ice maker made gross tasting ice and never got better (had to start buying ice). Then a smell started coming from the fridge every time the fan came on. We called before the warranty was up and talked to Whirlpool, and they said that we must have put something smelly in the fridge that caused the plastic to absorb the smell (which we didnt). They told us to put baking soda in and change it everyday. No change. They kept telling us there is no way it could be giving off a smell for any other reason and if they sent a tech out, we would have to pay for it. Trying to intimidate us until the warranty was up. Then after a month or so, the bottom mount freezer starts leaking water all over the wood floors every 3 days. At first we turned off the water line, but then realized it is coming when the freezer defrosts. One good thing, the freezer, from the beginning, knocked really loud and now that its leaking it doesnt knock. We spent $1,200 just over a year ago and will probably have to go purchase a new one now. I will tell you it will never be another Whirlpool product. Whirlpool has not apologized or done anything but say, Now your warranty is up, you should have bought the extended warranty. Great customer care! With all these same complaints, you would think Whirlpool would figure the problem is their inferior product (which they know) and actually take responsibility.

The unit has performed as I had hoped. I wanted a quiet appliance that performed well, and could accommodate large plates and platters. I never put my knives, wooden utensils, pots or pans in my dishwasher so that was never an issue. I use 1 of 5 cycles available, 1 of 4 options available. Why use something other than hot water? The delay option is used often since I have a tendency to forget to turn it on, but I never let it run if someone is not home. The time left clock is also helpful, but dont count on it being really accurate. The start/resume, delay and cancel options are often used. I used the rinse option once with disappointing results. The silverware caddy is a little small, or my silverware is too large. I do not put any pots, pans or knives in, everything else fits fine because its a tall unit. So tall in fact, that the door comes out much farther than earlier units. Im still getting used to that. The front is brushed stainless with a black plastic control panel, nothing special here. My favorite options are delay and time left. Never have used the heat to dry option. We have low humidity and Ive never had the need to dry them immediately.

Bought the Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW7300DW) and dryer (WED7300DW1) about 8 months ago. The washer always leaves white debris on the dark clothes - looks like detergent. Except I use blue liquid detergent. It seems like the inside, bottom of the drum is deteriorating and sticking to the clothes, since there is nothing that is white in the washer. I have run it through the clean cycle several times with the recommended washer cleaning product (the brand that came as a sample with the washer). That did not help. Also, we have a dog, our old washer used to rinse out a lot of dog hair from the bottom of our socks, etc. My filter for my drain hose would always have dog hair in it. With this washer, there is no dog hair being rinsed out at all. Lint and dog hair is all through the clothes after the cycle is over. Makes me wonder where the dirt is going, then. The clothes are so twisted after washing. Anything with long sleeves get tied up around other clothes. This seems very rough to wash clothes this way. Also, if you dont use the deep water setting, its likely not to get parts of the clothes even wet. I had a gray hooded sweatshirt go through a whole wash cycle and there were spots all over it that never even got wet at all. The dryer power button is very temperamental. Sometimes I have to hit it 6 - 7 times, at different angles, until I hit it just right to get it to turn on. Other times it just turns right on. There are just 2 of us so I only do 10 - 12 loads of clothes a month. After reading all the awful reviews, I fear that these problems, which are becoming evident now, will only get worse. Yet I only have 4 more months until the warranty runs out.

Our long and tortuous experience began in 2013 and continues to this day. But Ill just give the headlines. In August 2013 we bought Whirlpool BTM French Door KFIS20XVMS11 from Lowes. Three years later we learned that model number appeared on the attached recall notice which had been issued just days before our unit was delivered in September. Neither Lowes nor Whirlpool notified us of this recall which described a simple repair to a part that was leaking so slowly that its effects took three years to show up in a destroyed floor and cabinet enclosure that will cost $2981 (and still rising) to repair. We called AIG, the company behind the extended warranty provider, and they responded promptly by dispatching a Whirlpool factory authorized service technician who attempted unsuccessfully to drag the unit from its alcove over the warped, erupted floor beneath. With the refrigerator half-way out of its enclosure, the technician stopped and asked us to sign a waiver of liability. When we refused, he announced that the problem was water damage and he jammed the unit back into place, leaving dents in both doors and the freezer drawer below. We went to Lowes, who strung us along for several months before sending an engineer whose report concluded that the problem was a manufacturers defect (The Lowes engineer and his associate damaged the unit further when they forced it back into place over a floor made more uneven when they removed the pieces of rotted oak shown in the accompanying photo.). Based upon the engineers report, which Lowes said it had no duty to share, we were given a 1-800 number for Whirlpool customer service, with assurance that we would be taken care of. Although we had to start from cold without the engineers report, Whirlpool customer service was initially very accommodating and gave us hope. For a moment, I thought we were going to get resolution. They assigned a case number and we supplied the requested documentation. That was on a Friday in March, 2017.Monday we were surprised to receive a sternly worded notice from the Whirlpool Law Department that a clerk there would be taking over our case. We realized that we were far from resolution. Why did the Law Department intervene? We dont know. We guess it may be because they want to avoid a class action lawsuit on behalf of possibly thousands of leaky refrigerator owners (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air and Amana units were all among the affected). In any case, since January we have been monkey-in-the middle among Whirlpools various departments, Lowes various departments and AIG, with no progress. What do we want? We just want things back the way they were before our leaky refrigerator did its damage and before Lowes and Whirlpool demolished our good as new looking KitchenAid refrigerator in the process of telling us they wont fix it.Footnote: We purchased all new KitchenAid Architect series appliances in August/September 2013, including top of line cooktop, dishwasher, convection microwave, convection oven and a French door cabinet depth refrigerator. Every unit except the cooktop has required warranty service, including five expensive electronic parts replacements. Fortunately we bought extended warranty service from KitchenAid/AIG, who have been terrific to deal with on the parts replacements. I dont recommend Whirlpool appliances but if you are intent on buying them, I do highly recommend extended warranties. As for the value of Whirlpools manufacturers warranty, watch this space. Ill be back with the final resolution.

I wrote down names, but I will not say them here. I found many recall sites on Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6200vwo for washer tub bearings. Which mine are bad. I called and logged my complaint but they say they have NO recall on any of their products and will send someone out but will charge me a service call unwarranted and parts if needed. I told them there are many websites that recall their tub bearings but they refused to fix the problem on recall. I dont have photos due to bearings are under the tub.

This Whirlpool top load washer has been an awesome product. I have had it for 9 years and havent had a bit of trouble. Its very quiet and very reliable. I am very very unhappy with Whirlpool gold series. We paid more thinking it was better and dont waste your money. I have had the whole package for 3 yrs and every one has broken down. First my dishwasher wasnt cleaning. I had to take the thing apart and clean all bars and still is not cleaning right. My ice maker quit working and then started leaking under fridge. I had to have the water intake valve replaced. And now my oven says its at 350 and wont bake anything. I think the element has gone bad. This is complete junk. I should have known better and got LG.

Weve had this washer for about 9 months now. We noticed that the loads being washed small or large werent coming out clean. When wash cycle finished items were covered in soap residue and or had large dry spots where water had never touched the area. When our sheets were washed in bulky/sheet cycle and deep water this happened. Maytag sent out repair person to find the water pump went bad, pump was replaced. After repair same bad washing results as stated previously. Maytag then sent out repair person for the second time. This time the main electrical board was replaced. Still after two repairs wash loads are still coming out dirty, soapy, dry in spots in any of the selected wash cycles large or small. Third call to Maytag and a third scheduled repair date coming up in a few day. Over the phone the Maytag employee only words of wisdom was, Did you buy the extended warranty. So unless there is a third failure I believe that this washer is just a poor design.

I have read most of the reviews and it seems like I have ALL those problems with my Whirlpool Cabrio, but I also need to add that there is rust around the bleach dispenser and I DONT use bleach. The inside is also rusted, but its not visible until you take a good look inside because its under the white paint but its all around the inside. So I had to stop using the machine because I now realize what was the cause of the damage done to some of our clothes. We all need to get our money back and have this washing machine picked up and thrown away!!!

I have a 4.5year old Cabrio washer. Ive replaced the water pump 3 times due to a weak plastic part which keeps blowing out due to pressure. Now, the unit is leaking rusty, black fluid from the bottom. I purchased it at HH Gregg in Indianapolis, In. Svs tech called. They have never seen this on such a new unit. Parts and labor will equal $400.00. Calling whirlpool customer care did nothing. I offered to pay the labor of $100, If they would be willing to pay for parts. Talked to a supervisor who offered to sell me an extended warranty costing $300.00. I am a stock owner in Whirlpool, no joy, dissatisfied with faulty product. They are unwilling to make this situation right. The unit is poorly made. I think a $800 unit should last longer than 4-5 years. In 2006, Whirlpool stopped offering a 5 year normal warranty on their units. Supervisor would not let me talk to anyone else.

We bought a Whirlpool freezer-bottom 18.5 cu ft. fridge from Lowes. The compressor broke in less than three months of regular use. I called Whirlpool who sent A&E to check it out. The technician didnt even file a report and lied to me about what was wrong with the fridge. They sent a different company to come look at it and they confirmed that the compressor is broken. I called Whirlpool customer service and was told that the warranty only covers repairs not replacement even though I paid over $1,000 for a defective product. The excuse: Its a man-made product so we cant guarantee it! So what used to be a 3-5 year warranty not too long ago is now what? A one-year warranty is virtually useless. I can see a future not too far off where there is no warranty at all. Where is the protection for the buyer? If I wanted to purchase a second-hand fridge, I would have. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

Called Whirlpool, they are not interested. 2 years later now and the machine is getting loud again. This is due to the spin throws water up and it is able to get out of the tub and down into the barring and the soap residue wears the barring out. Bad design. Called Whirlpool again and again they are not interested but can put me in touch with a repairman. I will not repair again but will use until dies and buy something else not related to Whirlpool. We moved into our house about 5 years ago. We didnt know how old the heater
We moved into our house about 5 years ago. We didnt know how old the heater was so 2 years after moving in, we replaced it with a Whirlpool Electric Water Heater. (2009) Last August, (2 1/2 years after installation) we found our carpet soaked in the room adjacent to the water heater and discovered it had been leaking into my finished basement for who knows how long. We contacted Whirlpool and they said they would replace the heater but I had to pay for the install because it was over a year. Mind you I had just paid 300 bucks 2 1/2 years before to put that one in. So I paid another 300 bucks to have a plumber come out and install this one. I had extensive damage to my basement, rug, walls with mildew and possible mold from the water. I went through my homeowners insurance and had almost $5000.00 worth of damage. So about a week ago my husband calls me downstairs and guess what, my brand new rug that I had replaced 11 months ago due to a leaking Whirlpool Water Heater was soaked again. This heater, 11 months old, leaked yet again!!! Needless to say Im beside myself, especially when I call Whirlpool and they will replace it, again, but who the hell wants to have damage to their finished basement every year??? When I called and asked them to pay for the damage this time because I cant possibly put another claim in with my insurance in less than a year for the same thing, they just say that they will have the labor charges dismissed as a courtesy. As a courtesy??? I said its been less than a year so they owe me the labor charges; she said no that it goes by the original warranty from 2009. What??? Thats utterly ridiculous and how is it possible that they can get away with this. That has to be against some state statue or law, to use the previous warranty on a defective product. So now Im left with about $2000.00 worth of damages this time to my brand new refinished basement all at the hands of Whirlpool. I had to get another one of their heaters because they wouldnt even give me the money for the heater so I could buy a different kind. I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again and Id advise to anyone who will listen to spend a little extra to avoid this hassle!

Now, at the dispenser where you add the bleach, it has rusted. The rust has gotten so bad the lid has detached from the body of the machine. I cant understand how a machine less than 4 years old could rust so badly. I called Whirlpool to complain and they suggested I get it repaired and my cost. It was big mistake to buy Whirlpool. It is all made plastic inside and they uses cheap Chinese material. Anyway, technician came house to check what the problem was... all control system was burned. He ordered almost 10 parts from Whirlpool on 04 August. Whirlpool scheduled delivery for 20 of August. I called them for them to send the parts faster so my guests could wash their clothes. They send them little faster for August 16. After a day, technician was in the house again. I waited about 3 hours for him to fix my machine. He was really nice guy. He put install all new parts. Just in front of me, new parts broke after 5 minute. Whirlpool still did not contact me about their decision. Today is August 26th... I called them 5 time already - Nobody give me useful info. Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop - I have a large black mark on one of the cooktop burners that appears to be beneath the surface of the cooktop. It’s almost within the finish of the burner and unable to be cleaned with cooktop cleaner. I have purchased an extended warranty and arranged for a service call. The repairman came out as scheduled, but informed me after making a phone call to who knows, because he did not tell us that the problem was cosmetic and could not be repaired under warranty. However, if we wanted a replacement cooktop, it would cost almost as much as a new stove. He also said that he had seen many of these ceramic burners with that problem and it was not unusual. All I really want is what is fair, a defect that is not my fault that needs to be replaced. The stove (Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop) was purchased in 2004 and is kept very, very clean.

In 2013, my husband purchased a Whirlpool Hot Water Heater model #E2F40RD045V 40 gal. from Lowes in Vancouver, WA. On 12/12/15, had to call a plumber, the hot water heater was intermittent hot/cold. He flushed it, checked all power connections and changed the elements. On 3/18/16, NO hot water. Having a 6 year warranty, I called Whirlpool. They gave all kinds of excuses and told me to try a bunch of tests. By the time I got back to call them they were closed. I called them again on Monday 3/21/16 and said nothing worked and it had popped the breaker. They said change the elements. I told them I had just changed the elements 3 months before. I told them it was faulty wiring. They said the top element must be faulty. I gave up at that point and called the plumber. He came right out the next day. I had purchased a Rheem hot water heater to install and asked him to check the Whirlpool hot water heater elements he installed before he removed it. That is when it was discovered that under the insulation around the bottom element it was all scorched from FAULTY wiring. I called Whirlpool again and told them I could send them a picture and they said dont bother and immediately gave me an RA to return the hot water heater to Lowes. I told them I had already purchased another hot water heater and it was not a Whirlpool. I am going to request a refund.

The repairman came out, and a part had fallen off inside, so he put it back on. It kept happening, so I called them back, and he taped the part on!About 2 months later, the seal started shredding, and so did my clothing. I called again, and they had to replace the seal again. It still sounds off balance, and they said that was normal, because of the give in the floor. The day they fixed the seal, I washed a childs sleeping bag, and it shredded it too! I called again, and they refused to replace it, and they want to come and look at it again. My dryer lint trap seal also keeps coming apart, and I have gone through 3 of those in less than 8 months. They said they are just made poorly, so it will keep happening. I just want my money back, and buy a different washer and dryer somewhere else. I had an old pair that I bought, used, and they lasted me 5 years with less problems than these that I paid two grand for.

I have purchased a 3 door Refrigerator of Whirlpool on 27th October, 2014 from Sargam India Electronics Pvt Ltd. Now my refrigerator was not working properly. So we registered a complaint regarding same. On 5th July morning we got a call and he asked that he will come till evening. Now we got a call. They are asking that its not under warranty. Hum log paso mai dhik kar sakte hai. Apart from your customer service guys we never shown this to any one else as its under warranty, I am clearing this thing on prior notice. Senior are not taking action. After only 6 months of use, the cooktop light bulb burned out. When I tried to replace it, the glass part of the bulb separated from the base. The bulb is screwed in so that the base faces away from the front of the microwave. With the small cavity and the backward installation, it will be impossible to remove. Now I have no light and dread how much a service call will be. The unit was installed by a contractor prior to our purchase of the house and it is now out of warranty.

I came here to see if others have had problems with their Whirlpool Cabrio top load washers. I was amazed at how many others forked over nearly a grand ($1000 with tax and extended warranty) for such a heap of nothing. I have lived in the same house for over 35 years, same water supply with water softener. Over this time, I have raised my family and been lucky enough to only go through two washers until 2 years ago when I purchased this Whirlpool Cabrio machine at Lowes. As with others, clothes do not get cleaned. Residue is present and in the creases of the tightly spun and tangled load. After calling Whirlpool and Lowes on nearly day one of my original purchase, no concern was given. Instead, I received the What type of detergent or Could it be your water supply? or What degree of soil does your family have on their garments? A white terry cloth washcloth should not come out grey, even after bleach! My GE and Maytags of the past always did fantastic jobs. They just plain old wore out. As for my new energy efficient machine that takes 86 minutes to wash a load, with expensive HE detergent, an oxy clean pouch, special fabric softeners, I scratch my head wondering how can this be efficient? If a pair of jeans needs pre-soaking, it cant be done in this washer. Instead, I spray the jeans with pre-soak, add my HE products, then fill a mop bucket full of water and dump into the machine 5 minutes after the 86-minute session has started. What a joke! For two years plus, I have vented to my poor husband who thought he was buying me a new innovative state of the art machine to make my life easier. I only wish there was somewhere or someone that I could contact to get some satisfaction for my agony with this poor quality product! Yes, I am venting. I dont have another thousand dollars to spend for a new machine. Believe me, if there were to be a class action lawsuit for this lemon, I would be first to sign up!

Long story short is that my dishwasher was 7 months old and two parts went out on it. 4 months (and almost 3 hours total on the phone) later it still does not work. Whirlpool only has one repair person in our area and that person is a small business owner who works alone and is now in his 2nd week of vacation leaving no one else in his shop to do repair while he is out. I do not know if my part is ordered nor do I have a repair date! Never will I ever again purchase a $900.00 dishwasher or any appliance from Whirlpool!

Im disgusted by both Sears and Whirlpool that I have paid top dollar for my Whirlpool Duet Washer model #WFW9400SW01 (along with the matching Whirlpool duet dryer and 15 floor pedestals) at a cost of over $1,000 for the machine, and hundreds of dollars for the Sears master protection service contract. And 5 weeks after first reporting my washer breakdown and lugging my familys laundry to a ‘local’ laundromat located miles away, I still have no imminent hope of seeing a repair. This is the second time the machine has broken down within 5 years. (Dont even ask me about my nightmare with LG dishwashers!) This time the wire harness is the culprit, a part which apparently has been redesigned & which has been on back order indefinitely - all Sears can tell me is it might be available sometime in October. Is it coming from overseas, I ask. No, Delaware, Ive been told. And it could be as long as into November. While they did tell me I could begin to pursue a replacement machine by the 21st day of non-use, I am so weary of the life energy this appliance nightmare is sapping from me simply to resolve this. And Sears and Whirlpool dont seem at all concerned with the massive amounts of junked appliances winding up in our collective landfill as we all tolerate this built-in obsolescence. Besides the obvious wear & tear issue on my wood floors in replacing the machine (the dryer positioned next to it on a pedestal in my cramped powder room/laundry room will also need to be reinstalled in order to get both to fit properly), what about the consummate waste of having these machines reach the end of their life expectancy after a mere 5 years? I wish Id never upgraded our appliances. In the 7 years since we did, our LG dishwasher has failed innumerable times and been replaced multiple times, until we finally replaced multiple versions with a Bosch (so far, so good); our Kenmore Elite range has also failed and needed repair; my washer has died twice. Shouldnt we expect better when we pay top dollar? And if not Consumer Reports, then why isnt the Attorney Generals Office investigating this clear fleecing of the consumer, Sears policy in which sales people aggressively hound consumers like me into purchasing expensive service contracts, making all sorts of unreliable claims and limited time only price quotes. And then when the consumer actually needs a repair, is treated like Im last in a long line of unhappy customers. Maybe if current embattled Sears CEO Edward Lampert had to face weeks of doing his own familys laundry in a laundromat while he waited for a part on backorder from Sears, he might recognize not only a lot of other people waiting on a Sears part there too. But that while on his watch, the Sears name has eroded big-time as he sacrificed quality in his relentless drive for profits.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW5000DW - I have owned at least two other washers
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW5000DW - I have owned at least two other washers in my life, and I just recently bought a new washer/dryer set at HHgregg. Was told they are doing away with agitator washing machines in the very near future so this is my first experience with a top load agitator-less washer. This thing is AWFUL!! First of all it took a minute to get used to the weird popping, grinding noises it makes while going through the cycle (which I might add seems to take FOREVER). The other thing I hate about it is there is no way to add the fabric softener at the start of the wash in this model unless you have a downy ball of which I have yet to find at my local dollar store or even the KROGER??? So I run back and forth trying to catch the rinse cycle to STOP the machine (wait I might add) and then add the FS manually.BUT THE ABSOLUTE WORSE THING is - my clothes come out with SPOTS that look like lint all over them, and they wont wipe off unless you have a wet rag to do it with!! AND YES - I have cleaned this washer TWICE already since January with the very expensive AFFRESH. I wear scrubs and they are solid colors, so it really shows up and I have to wipe off every pair EVERY day before I put them on then roll a lint brush down them. WHO HAS TIME FOR THIS??? This is on my SOLID colors which is easy to see, I can only imagine the GUNK that is on the rest of my laundry!!! I dont feel like my laundry is getting clean at all!! I am divorced and money is tight - I paid around $500 buck for this piece of crap. I am already seriously thinking of getting me another one - the OLD tried and true kind with an AGITATOR! And yes I am ANGRY. Can you tell??

I have just had one of the worst experiences with any appliance warranty repair service of my life. I rarely complain but strongly feel the company needs to make some changes. They have no repair folks less than 50 miles away from the dealer (and my home). Their refrigerator was sold to me with the understanding that such a service was available as part of the purchase price. Ha! The repairman referred wiggled out of the time assigned to him. Another repair referral will take weeks. The unit is a piece of junk and is malfunctioning in less than a year. When, and if, any repair person comes to my home they will find it in the garage with the rest of my junk.

The burners were very crooked and the pans got burned out right away. They were covered under warranty but since then, they had the same problem with them with the new items. They had the light bulb stuck and couldnt get it out, they came under warranty and now a new light bulb wont work in it. The control top indicator light didnt work so I had that fixed under the warranty, but now it has the same problem and I cant afford to get it fixed and it could be a real safety issue. When it was under warranty, I called about the brown in between the oven door and they said it was cosmetic. It gets worse every time we use the self-cleaning oven like the seal isnt tight. The outside of the door gets brown also when using the self-cleaning oven. We thought we would have this range for a long time as we had a Whirlpool range before which lasted 20 years. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again and we have had a lot of them. e cant afford to buy a new one so we are stuck with this one with all its problems. Whirlpool just gives you the runaround when you call. When they brought the range, the self-cleaning oven part wasnt even hooked up so they had to come back and fix it. I cant believe they dont have more recalls on these. I have only had this for 4 years.

The dryer is relatively quiet and has 4 heat settings (including no heat) as well as multiple choices for the type of drying, i.e. wrinkle release, damp dry. Here in Brazil, we use to have a very good brand of durable and reliable refrigerators and home appliances called Brastemp, and I was a very happy, fidelized customer of theirs. The time came for me to move to my new house. I gave my old appliances away to friends and modeled my new kitchen with Brastemp products. What I didnt know then is that Whirlpool bought the brand in 2000 and was selling their appliances over the Brastemp brand since.Whirlpool is clearly selling disposable appliances here. My vacuum cleaner failed after a week. My brand new refrigerator and laundry machines failed weeks after the one-year warranty and the dishwasher sometimes heats up and tips the 20A circuit breaker (suggested by the manufacturer), which is only for the dishwasher. For my complete surprise, my old appliances are still functional in my friends house. I got my old dishwasher back and I had absolutely no problems since. The vacuum cleaner failed again, this time 5 months out of warranty. In all fail cases, the price to fix it was about 70% of the price of a new one, which I took as a sign to replace them for something else. Good job, Whirlpool! You bought a nice brand, trashed it and gave the finger to fidelized customers you acquired with the new brand by replacing quality products with built-in obsolescence others. What do you plan to do next? Whatever it is, dont count on me as a customer ever again.

I purchased the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II dishwasher, Model DU1055XTVQ0, Serial # FY3762359. The racks are cheaply made and rusting! Almost all of the tips on the racks are rusting, causing them to corrode and break off completely! This dishwasher is well under 5 years old. Not sure what we paid for this machine but the racks should not be doing this after this short length of time. They shouldnt be doing this after any length of time.I called Whirlpools customer support center today and was told there is nothing they could do. The support agent asked if I had hard water, if so, that could be causing the problem (I dont have hard water). The agent stated that they do not cover rusting racks nor would they replace them, now I see why. They are expensive to replace. As of now, I will not be buying another Whirlpool appliance - ever! I contacted Whirlpool and was referred for a repair. The repair man told me these newer machines need the Affresh product to clean out the machine so this doesnt happen. I bought the Affresh product and there is still a problem. Every load of wash has to be put back in for another rinse cycle, sometimes two rinse cycles. Its ironic because the cover of the booklet for the machine says low-water washer which was the selling point to buying this machine. Instead of using less water, Im using DOUBLE the water.

I had the biggest nightmare with your sorry company. On 01/05/2013, I purchased a new 50gal electric water heater from Lowes in Waco, TX. I got the unit installed and the damn thing would not heat. I followed your lame support instructions. I contacted your support tech and diagnosed everything possible. I was told I needed to have an electrician to verify that I was getting enough power. That cost me $75.00 bucks and everything checked out. He was not able to check the water heater since he was not a Whirlpool licensed tech. So I called Lowes to return the water heater. Now this is where your policy at Whirlpool suck! Lowes is not allowed to take back/exchange your crap without an RMA number. I had to get it from Whirlpool directly! I called Whirlpools customer service. They flat out refused to do so. They stated that I need to get a certified Whirlpool tech, but it was up to me to contact one! Their nearest one was from Dallas (2 hours away) and could not come out until later next week! I told the tech that its unacceptable! She even refused to get a supervisor! Plus now I blew up on this one. I had to pay the tech $75.00 up front plus the $75.00 an hour to which it would take 2 1/2 hours for repair. Meaning, I would pay more in a damn service call than the actual cost of the new water heater! Oh, but they would refund me in 60-120 days. I would first verify the work was done and if any overcharges, it would not be refunded! So I say to Whirlpool/GE, your warranty policy is a bunch of **. This includes your customer service team as well! I will never ever purchase a Whirlpool or GE product again. Samsung now has my business. May your company fold! Youre a worthless corporation that continues to rip the Americans off!

My husband purchased a Cabrio washer and dryer pair for Christmas 2010. I have faithfully used the affresh every month, and spent a fortune on it I might add. But for about the last year or so, no matter that the washer has been cleaned at times when the load is finished there is all kinds of black stuff in the tub and on the clothes. The tray under the detergent dispenser is all black and nasty and impossible to clean thoroughly. The black stuff will come through the holes in the tub as well. Water stands in the bleach dispenser at times, fabric softener does not all dispense, the LID is broken and has been but I cannot afford over 200.00 for a LID and about 100.00 to have repairman to put it on. We do not have heavily soiled clothes that would create excessive dirt, never have had and we are now retired so we surely dont now. Bottom line, I thought maybe this would be the last washer I would need but I hate it. It is only 5 years old but I am stuck as I cannot afford a new one now. Factory rep says if it is cleaned as it should be, I should not be having this problem. Not true, it has been cleaned as recommended!!!

Model # WRF990SLAM00 Ser# K23919328 - It should be possible to rate this piece of junk zero stars!! Purchased on Feb 2013, it is driving me and my wife insane. It is noisy compressor wise all the time (Our kitchen and living room in the townhouse are one room). The problems started after the hurricane in 2016 killed our power for three days. I had to shut the refrigerator down to manually defrost the freezer section because the fan on the fan-coil was hitting a huge accumulation of ice. Then the weird blackouts started approx once per month where the panel light as well as the interior lights went on and off every minute with that dreadful BEEP. This went on for over 24 hrs and made living in the same room HELL. The beep and three clicks happen every minute and the cooling is none. Whirlpool service came ($80.00) just to look at it and will come back with the rest of the bill which probably will be astronomical. I feel cheated big time!! Minute and the cooling has worsened big time. Whirlpool service came ($ 80.00) just to look at it and stated it needs a new computer board as well as a new front panel on the left door.
