In less than a year my gas range required a new knob because it froze in place. They covered that but not the 4 new knobs since. I must clarify, its not actually the knobs but the thing underneath that my husband has had to replace ever since to our expense and time. Also in less than a year the paint under the knobs totally fell off. We contacted them about that and the reply was paint wasnt covered under warranty. Obviously they used heat resistant paint on the range top because that is perfect condition even with the constant cleaning, but the angled front where the knobs are I had to sand and repaint, not a good look for the stove. They really couldnt have just used the heat resistant paint for 2 1/2 farther? Just horrible quality and worse service. I used to be devoted to Whirlpool but since buying my new refrigerator - Samsung 100 percent from now on!

My boyfriend and I purchase a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer on November
My boyfriend and I purchase a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer on November 28, 2010 from Lowes in Shepherdsville, KY. Just after we purchased the set, I read some bad online reviews of the set. I called Lowes and talked to Chris ** in appliances and he assured me that this was a good set and that it was very popular with their customers. He assured me that if there were any problems that Lowes would make sure they did everything they could to fix and/or replace the appliance(s). My intention was to cancel the order when I called, but he convinced me not to, now I completely regret not canceling that order that day.In May of 2011 we called Lowes to report that the dryer was not working properly; they sent a repair person from Maytag Service Co, 1500 South Shelby, Louisville, KY 40217, phone number 502-637-6526. The name on the card that the repair person left is Steve **. The repair tech indicated that the problem was that the belt had come off and he put the belt back on the dryer. It has worked without issue until about 2 weeks ago, when it stopped drying again. I assume the belt is off again since it is performing exactly the same as it did in May when we had the repair company out.I called Maytag Service Co approximately 1 to 1 1/2 weeks ago to see when a tech could come back out and I was told they only work Monday - Friday. I told them both my boyfriend and I work and cant really take time off from work to be home for the repair. The male on the phone indicated that they could call 30 minutes before arriving if that would help. I told them that wouldnt really help since I work in Louisville (about 30 minutes from Shepherdsville where we live). He indicated that was the best they could do.Yesterday, November 7th sometime during business hours. I spoke with someone in their appliance department. He indicated that I would need to call Maytag Service Co at 502-637-6526. I called them and was advised that they could come out the next day (today), November 8th, but they could not give me a time window. I spoke to a female who did not identify herself. She specifically stated, If someone has not called you by 8:30 a.m., you can call us and we will give you a time window. Since I had just earned a vacation day at work, I so desperately need my dryer working that I took the day off to get the dryer fixed. I got up at 7:30 a.m. this morning to prepare for the service call. I have not left the house today. At 9:20 a.m. my boyfriend called and said that the service company had called and they were not coming out. I called them back and again spoke to an unidentified female. She indicated that they called my boyfriends phone at 9:00 a.m., he called them back at 9:20 a.m. I was on the phone with the female at 9:25 a.m. She indicated that I should have called at 8:30 a.m. and that they never call their customers because they dont have time to call them all. She said that when my boyfriend didnt answer the phone at 9:00 a.m., they had to send their tech on to the next call because, they cant have their tech waiting around 20 - 30 minutes on customers to answer their phone. When I told her that I took my only vacation day to be home for this call, she indicated that I would have to reschedule for another day because their tech was already on his way to another city. I then stated that I thought that was ** and she hung up on me.I called and spoke with the store manager at Lowes in Shepherdsville, KY. He called Maytag Service Co and was told that I used profanity and was rude and that I would not provide them with an alternate number. Most if not all of these are lies. I did say **, but I was not rude and I was never asked for an alternate number. I give out my number and my boyfriends number to almost any company we deal with. My boyfriend is also a service technician for Icee Corporation and he is not allowed to be on a cell phone in his work truck; therefore I always give both numbers since I can easily answer the phone throughout the day. The store manager made several attempts to try to find another company to come out and service our dryer, but cannot find anyone to come before tomorrow. Since I used my only vacation day today, I cannot be here for the technician and my boyfriend doesnt have any vacation or sick time to take to be home for the call.I cannot believe that after spending over $1300 on a Whirlpool Washer and Dryer set (including several hundred dollars for the extended warranty), that we cannot get our dryer serviced at our convenience. Since when did companies only repair or back up their products at their convenience? This in my opinion is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I thought Whirlpool/Maytag was a good company; now Im not so sure. I just wish I could return the set and do more research and find a quality appliance that wont break down 2 times in less than a year!!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in Aug 2012 model G16FARXXF05 and in July 2016 the compressor died. I researched refrigerators before purchasing and was told by every store I visited that Whirlpool was probably the best and with the least problems. Unfortunately, for me that was not the case. I guess anyone can get a lemon!!!

At some point, Whirlpool should accept the fact that they should not sell this machine. Word of mouth spreads fast! Im hoping it will make a big dent in sales because I know then they will listen and act! I purchased it in 2006 for $800, thinking this Cabrio 6400SW is a dream, I can get more done in less time (at that time, there were seven in our family). However, problems within the first year, F1, but I was happy and still under warranty! It was fixed, only to start the problem again. This time, not under warranty! I really wish I had said yes to the extended warranty! Even the repair guy Whirlpool sent suggested it may be a good thing to get the extended warranty if I were you! I think he was trying to tell me something! My naive thought was, why spend more money we did not have? After all, it is a new machine! I did not comprehend that any company could sell and continue to sell something that was clearly a defective machine! Nor did I entertain the thought that a company would not stand behind their product! It is now 2012, I still have the machine because we have dealt with it and have/had no extra money to throw out at it. I have dealt with F1 for several years and did not contact Whirlpool, mostly out of lack of time to research what the deal was and if others were experiencing the same. In November 2011, after reading many complaints and frustrations on the internet and what results they got, I called Whirlpool. Using a level head, sugar sweet persona and a mindset of disbelief that Whirlpool would allow such problems, the customer service girl did her best with what she was told to reply with (meaning, there is nothing she can do). It is then that you ask to speak with a manager or director. I won in getting a repair guy out to fix the F1. They made it sound like they were doing me a onetime favor. The machine board was replaced, the repair person also thought there was an obstruction in the hose and he could fix it, but it would cost us money and suggested we try our hand at it first. We did find an obstruction and for one week, the machine was quietly working beautifully! Whirlpool even called to see about how it was working and my husband had answered that everything works well, not knowing that Ld is our new problem. Ld had started to pop up at the end of that week.So here it is July and Im so frustrated trying to get wash done. Im thinking of all the wasted time, all the wasted electricity and energy Ive spent trying to get this machine to work! My kids are trained to hit stop/pause if they hear it beeping. Some days we cant even get the clothes to spin dry. I try different cycles to get the machine to start and often have to cancel the cycle and change it to another cycle to get the machine to continue. Is there a smell? Yes, and I run the clean washer cycle twice in a row just about every other week now. That doesnt even seem to clean the washer anymore! Tangled clothes sometimes. Ld always, uL sometimes and a sound like it is trying to do something but is stuck. Lots of laundry to do! No money to fix it! Whirlpool needs to stop selling an inferior machine! I know one thing. Never Whirlpool again and I tell everyone not to go with Whirlpool Cabrio. Even one of my co-workers had one and bought a new washer (not Whirlpool) because of problems with her Cabrio only after three years! Do not purchase a Cabrio!

We bought a new Whirlpool side by side, model # WRS325FNAM00 in March 2014. In less than 48 hours, the freezer box was condensing and water was leaking on the bottom edge. The condensation got worse and worse. Five service calls later, Whirlpool replaced the freezer door--which took six weeks because it had to be manufactured. After the door was installed--no change. Whirlpool replaced the entire refrigerator in June. Guess what? The new one is doing exactly the same thing in exactly the same place. So far it has not gotten worse. Well see, we have only had it a week. But already the service rep has been out to the house and added the silicone gunk to the box in case there is a tiny air leak. Why would a brand new refrigerator have an air leak in the freezer box?

This is the worst washer/dryer I have ever had. It is so damn loud that the neighbors can hear it. Water level is too low. Today the dial is making a buzzing sound. I have to re-rinse the clothes. It does not spin enough, have to re-spin again. What kind of energy saver is this, NONE. They said thats the way the machine is, loud, thats bull. No machine should be like that. I threw money away when I bought that piece of (you know what). Dont buy this machine. Consumer Affairs, you should pursue this product with Whirlpool and have them do something about it. They do absolutely NOTHING.

I hope this review makes it to the president of Whirlpool! My husband and I built our first home and finally moved into it on April 22, 2017. We saved everywhere we could and I did my best to research my appliances. I was so excited to buy a BIG refrigerator for our family of five, (3 are hungry teenagers!) after years of using a smaller side-by-side. We went with the 31.5-cu ft French door/drawer with dual icemakers, model #WRF993FIFM. The original price was $3,599 but we got it on sale for $2,298 at Home Depot. After only 5 months it stopped cooling! I woke up one morning to find a fridge full of spoiled food!! After waiting 3 weeks I had 2 different repairmen come out and have been told that it is un-repairable due to two parts that are needed, one of which is on back order indefinitely. Ive called Whirlpool numerous times and only get the run around and Im sorry mam we cant do anything else. So Im just supposed to be without my refrigerator until who knows when?! The first 2 weeks of this crap we had to live out of Igloo coolers on our back porch. That meant no buying real groceries, only milk and juice and drinks. Thankfully the awesome people at Home Depot brought us a loaner, which is an apartment size fridge, to use while we wait. So now I just have to walk across the house to my garage every time I need something, and I cant buy much food because it wont fit!! Im so disgusted with how Whirlpool is handling this!!! Not only did we buy our fridge but we also went with Whirlpool for our stove, dishwasher and microwave, and we already owned a newer Whirlpool washer and dryer set. We spent thousands of dollars and cant even get them to exchange this piece of junk! Come on Whirlpool, surely you dont treat all your customers this way!? Do the right thing and let us have a replacement!!!

It works ok and fits in a tight spot. However, the top shelf will suddenly start to freeze the food and after a day or two it will stop. The fridge makes terrible loud banging noises. Were told it is the coolant but it is extremely annoying. A repairman moved the line closer to a heating and it doesnt bang as much. Because of this, I would not buy a Whirlpool fridge again.

It had melted the handle off the front of the drawer. There are cookie sheets in the broiler. We dont use it, we have never used it, it was so hot Teflon on the cookie sheets burnt off. The side of the stove was so hot I couldnt touch it to get behind to turn off the gas. It almost burnt my house down. The carpet and the wall are black in the back.

I have a Whirlpool cabrio washer (Model: wtw6300 Serial Number: CT3573525) and I am very disappointed with it. The spin cycle is the worst--sounds like a jet engine and gives me the UL error message of unbalance load. The machine was purchased in 2007 but was kept indoors. At the beginning, I didnt care because I had warranty with BrandsMart. I had to call at least four times. But now, I bought the automatic control and it didnt work. For two days, I was trying to balance this machine but it is impossible since the beginning.I contacted customer service and they advised me to contact the repair service in my area to get a diagnostic analysis of the issue. Hello! I already know what the problem is after reading all these reviews! I cannot tell you how pissed off I am. I will never purchase anything Whirlpool. Two of the gas burners of my Whirlpool kitchen, after two years of use, are no longer working. I will definitely contact BBB as soon as possible. Come on, fellow complainants, let us continue to fight to get a possible recall soon! We all have the same problem because this is a manufacturing defect!

This is a defect due to the removal of the dispenser heater being removed. The insulation is inadequate behind the ice/water dispenser (@ 3 feet from the bottom of the door.) Replaced the line, thawed it out multiple times, added extra line under the fridge in the coils to try and warm up the water in the line between the 90 degree elbow connector and the dispenser... no luck. Since all the manufacturers models are being assembled in Mexico, using the same designs, other models are have the same issue. GE is backing theirs with a replacement freezer door. Well see if Whirlpool backs theirs. This whirlpool Gold is @ 3 years old and the issue started around a year ago.

I have owned a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator since 2011. It has required two repair calls due to a water leak. The company did repair it free of charge on the second visit even though it was out of warranty. It is now leaking again which has caused damage to my wood floor and basement ceiling tiles. I am told that I have pay for the repairs this time even though it is the same problem. I was offered a modest discount to purchase a new refrigerator. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. After 7 attempts to fix my 6-year-old Whirlpool Front Load Washer (original price $991.00) I had to trash it. Then I stupidly bought another Whirlpool Front Loader (WFW75HEFW) Feb 2017. It has not worked properly since day 1. The clothes come out dripping wet. At first I thought I was doing something wrong. I tried every cycle, limited amount of clothing and ran additional spin cycles to no avail. Finally I gave up and called for service.Whirlpool is very much aware that a number of their machines came off the line with defective spin bearings but they wont admit to it. Instead I am expected to have it repaired! It involves the entire inside of the machine being rebuilt. Its a 2 man job that will take 3-4 hours. This is totally unacceptable and it is obvious Whirlpool does not make a quality product nor do they value customer satisfaction. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PURCHASE A WHIRLPOOL WASHER. They are difficult to work with and I for one will never purchase or recommend any of their products. I purchased this washer from Home Depot and now my only hope is that they will honor my intention of purchasing a non-defective product. If not, I guess Im in for another miserable experience with a Whirlpool product.

We bought our Duet washer in 2007 with a three-year warranty. In 2010, the washer started banging so we called it in for repair. It was determined that the bearing on the drum was bad, so the entire drum assembly was replaced because the poor design of integrating the bearing into the drum. Almost one year to the day, our washer started banging again. The washer is no longer under warranty. We were told the parts are around $400 plus and another $400 for labor. The repairman was from the store we bought the washer and he is a certified Whirlpool repairman. He related to us that this is a very common occurrence for Whirlpool washers because they are using cheap foreign made bearings. He services this problem on a weekly basis and Whirlpool will not do a recall because unless it is a safety hazard, it is not a concern to them if consumers have to pay out the nose for cheaply made parts. This repairman informed us that during training at a Whirlpool class, he learned that on the main board of the washers, they could put a 2 cent lamp that would indicate a bad board which would simplify diagnosis, expedite repair and reduce service time, but Whirlpool wont do it because it isnt cost effective. The repairman told us that we can call customer service until we are blue in the face, but Whirlpool wont give a ** because it is out of warranty. He sees this happen all the time with Whirlpool. My wife called Whirlpool Customer Service just to be told we are ** even though the cheap, crappy bearing that went bad was done under warranty, a year earlier.Well Whirlpool, I guess you lost another customer who will make sure that you lose a lot more customers. We are going to take our business elsewhere and we will make sure all our family, friends, neighbors and coworkers know how bad your customer service and poor attitude is toward consumers. If you cant back your products when you put cheap foreign garbage parts in your product, then you need to lose business and get out of the market.

The day after it was fixed it started leaking underneath the machine. Serviceman came and looked at it and said No must be the hoses (my responsibility to fix). Nope kept leaking and two months later Im doing laundry and an entire load of water floods my laundry room. Drum broke again!! SIX WEEKS LATER I still am waiting for a new drum. I had an electric 36 Whirlpool, smooth top cook top for 18 yrs. Worked great, cleaned with Windex and occasional scraper. Didnt show streaks or spots. I remodeled my kitchen 10/15 and bought a KitchenAid 36 glass smooth top vented cook top. What a piece of junk. Wish I had kept my Whirlpool. I can not get it cleaned. Every little fingerprint, mark, etc. shows. I thought KitchenAid was an upgrade to whirlpool but I was surely wrong. I am glad that I didnt change my built-in double oven. I did change out the Whirlpool quiet gold dishwasher for the KitchenAid. Again, wish I kept my Whirlpool. The KitchenAid is noisier, looks terrible with the stainless inside. Similar to what I am reading below and on other sites, my hot water heater stopped working. I spent about an hour trying to relight the pilot light, which apparently you cant do with this model because it breaks. My first thought and action was to call a plumber to come fix it. When he arrived he said it was reverse thread and that I would have to call Lowes to get a replacement part. When I called Lowes they said they would call Whirlpool and then give me a call back. Two days later I still havent heard back or taken a shower; I am going to the gym tonight. Finally, I got online and called the 800-number and am being sent a part to arrive tomorrow. I asked to be reimbursed for the cost of the plumber since they obviously knew they had a problem (they assumed why I was calling the warranty line) and redesigned the issue with a voluntary recall. We purchased our Whirlpool dishwasher/Model no. WDT780SAEM in July 2016 and it was installed on August 3, 2016. Right away we noticed 2 problems. The top tray squeaks very loudly when being pulled out for loading and unloading. The usual temporary fix for this would be using a product like WD-40. Of course as soon as you run the dishwasher all of the product is washed away. This was our first complaint about this dishwasher. The more important problem was the white cloudy residue being left on all of our clear plastic cups and glasses. Weve always had hard water but our previous dishwashers were able to remove the residue if we used the high-temperature wash. After looking at all of the manuals and user guides that are included with the purchase we read that we should be using a rinse agent and a product such as Lemi Shine to deal with hard water deposits. We tried these items and nothing worked.Using the All Fresh tabs didnt help and our filter was clear and clean. So we made an appointment to have the Whirlpool factory serviceman come out to look into our problems. First of all the customer service representative I spoke with was rude and impatient. She kept cutting me off and asking me about hard water and suggesting that I use all of the products mentioned above before finding out that I already had used them to no avail. Because we had the dishwasher for just over 30 days I asked her about the Clean and Quiet Guarantee that I found out about by going to Whirlpools site. Her exact words were The clean and quiet what?? So I didnt have much hope for our service appointment. Our serviceman was asking all of the same questions about hard water and if we had tried all of the products I mentioned above. After his visit we found out and now (too late) know that because our new dishwasher does not have a heat booster or the ability to get the water temperature high enough to remove the hard water residue theres nothing Whirlpool will do for us. This is the case with all newer technology dishwashers UNLESS you purchase one with a heat booster. I sure wish this wouldve been made clear to us, the consumer before making our purchase. If we had known beforehand that new dishwashers no longer get the water up to 140 degrees which is what would be needed to remove the residue, we wouldve made sure our model included a heat booster. Now were stuck handwashing our plastic items if we want clear dishes. Its not the end of the world but its not good customer service or honest to the consumer in any way, shape or form.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer WTW5800BW0 September 2014. Two years and 8 months later it no longer works. Call Sears and Whirlpool and was basically told I should have purchased a warranty. Whirlpool tried to sell me an extended warranty for $495.00 which is about 80% of the original sale price of the washer. Was told it is my responsibility to care for the maintenance of my purchase. WOW. Way to stand by your product. So now its my fault they sell a product that does not last longer than 3 years. So we tried option 2 - called a repairman. His response save your money and buy a new washer. WOW. A repairman rather lose money than try and fix this washer. Save your money and pass on Whirlpool products.

Ill be just as responsible as Whirlpool and Nasons has been... I bought my Whirlpool stove less than 2 yrs ago from a reputable business in a nearby community, CROWN POINT, INDIANA! I have had trouble w/ the burner knobs ever since I bought it...just brushing up against them turns them on. Enough gas escapes into the kitchen... I bought knob covers to prevent that (they did NOT work)! So I called the place I bought the stove from and they sent out a repairman...he said there was no fix for it... but that I owed him $69.99 for the service call. And every time I turn the oven on to heat it to bake something you smell gas also... Im almost afraid to use it... 3 nights ago I woke up to the kitchen filled w/ gas...knob covers on but still one was still on a bit... it was a whopping -25 and we had to open windows to clear out the gas... you shouldnt have to check the knobs once youve turned them off. Nor should they come on when you brush by them...when youre not even cooking... Granted I am short but the serviceman said I should move everything I needed to cook w/ closer to me so I didnt have to brush up against the stove... what????? I have cabinets above and all around the stove. What I cant use those cabinets????? Something is terribly wrong w/ the stove and the service... If youre in the market for a new stove, dont buy a Whirlpool and for certain DONT buy anything from NASONS appliances in Crown Point Indiana... They along with whirlpool dont stand behind their product... They told me they never had that complaint before. WRONG, I read it more than once on this site...liars all of them!

I bought Whirlpool top-loading high-efficiency low-water washer Sept 2018, model WTW5000DW, Serial # C83444466. Worst washing machine ever! No matter which water level you choose, it will not dispense enough water to cover the top of the clothes load, therefore the clothes are just moved from side to side with only the bottom layer of clothes getting wet; top clothes stay dry. Not enough water to fully agitate to clean the clothes!Whirlpool serviceman came today (Jan 13, 2020) to recalibrate the settings. VERY NICE MAN BUT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO TO SOLVE THE LOW WATER LEVEL. Recalibrating settings did nothing to solve the problem of not enough water. I am 81 years old and I have to manually add at least 4 buckets of water to an average load of clothes. This is unacceptable. Wont someone please initiate a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool for selling this very obvious poorly designed machine? NEVER EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE. It is a waste of money.

The Whirlpool Cabrio washer was extremely expensive to purchase but is rusting out and the circuit board is going out. We have had cheap washers last longer than this one and just to purchase the circuit board will be more expensive than another cheap washer. These boards go out right after the warranty goes out and I think that they are timed to go out. (The exact same thing happened with our dishwasher and after the board was replaced, it has lasted many years). Whirlpool should replace these for free since they do not last that long and are very expensive.

Purchased this French door fridge with the freezer on the bottom in September 2017. Started having problems shortly after with the freezer not auto defrosting/ice damming on the evaporator unit in the freezer unit, which caused the fridge to warm up and food to spoil. Service came out several times and ultimately replaced the Jazz board 3 times, 2 harnesses in freezer, 1 Heater and the evaporator fan motor, with the same problem happening after a few weeks. Requested a replacement after the 3rd visit, but Whirlpool refused to back up their product. Sent service a few more times to no avail. Demanded a replacement once again. They sent a new service company out 15 months after our original purchase and they FINALLY deemed it non-repairable and are FINALLY going to replace it (turned out to be a broken wire inside the walls of the fridge, likely was like that upon delivery). So now we will have been put out for a total of 16 months for a fridge that cost >$1000. If Im spending that on an appliance I expect it to work properly or else be fixed/replaced in a TIMELY fashion. And the best part: they refuse to compensate us for any of the food that was lost due to a faulty product and very poor customer service! That was a lot of money lost because of their incompetence. If they had just replaced the broken appliance in the first place I would have been satisfied. But since they refused to do anything beneficial to remedy the situation, I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. And add in the inconvenience of scheduling a time to be home for multiple visits to greet the repairman. Oh yeah, plus our time wasted defrosting our frost-free fridge with a blow dryer to buy us time until it got repaired. Buyer beware!

I purchased a brand new washing machine and had service come to repair the machine approximately five times within the first year. Every time the machine was repaired, it was for different reasons. I contacted the main office and spoke to a woman named Sherry who is a supervisor and she was very nasty. This is a brand new machine and I feel that it should be replaced with a new one. Sherry said that there was nothing she can do for me. Is there a lemon law for appliances? The machine is used for my son and me only. I have all appliances in my house by General Electric and this is my first and last experience with Whirlpool.

I bought a Whirlpool Partner II 5 and a half years ago. It was always noisy and took very long to run a cycle. It started to malfunction after 2 years. We bought a new computer for it and a new control panel for the touch keys. It still kept not running a cycle fully. We found a YOUTUBE video that showed how to reset the model by pressing a combination of Normal and Heated Dry and that seemed to fix it for 2 years. It has stopped working again. Now it seems that the heating element is out. It doesnt clean at all, a scum film has covered the inside of the dishwasher and even mold spots are appearing. Ive had to wait extremely long times on hold to talk with an agent. My option is to hire a repair tech to come out and repair it and I pay for the parts. Seems like a bad deal since Ive already spent over a hundred on repairing it and a lot of hours. I will never buy a Whirlpool brand appliance again.

I purchased a gas range with JDR8895 last 09/06/2007 at Home Depot in Metro Denver for approximately $1700.00. I will make my final payment on my Home Depot account next month. I was preparing dinner last September 10, 2011. I had the pans on the cooktop, one on the right rear and one on the left front burners. This was the set up because the right front burner has stopped working some time ago. Both burners were on a low setting as I was simmering pasta sauce and just warming water as I was later going to boil it for the noodles. I was in my living room when I started to smell something odd. When I approached my kitchen, there was a fire coming from the rear of the cooktop and beneath the three burner knobs. It smelled like an electrical fire. I immediately turned off the burners with my hand wrapped in a towel and started putting out the fire by hitting it with the towel and blowing. The towel caught on fire. I grabbed my fire extinguisher and was ready to spray when finally, it looked like it burned out. The smell in my home is terrible, when I tried to test the lower burner it looked like it was catching on fire underneath the knob as well, so i immediately turned it off and batted it with a towel. Im not sure what happened here. I will make my final payment on this range next month and had the previous range in here since 1977 and that still worked fine. I spent a small fortune on this Jenn-Air, only to have it catch on fire that could have potentially burned my house down.On various web sites including consumer affairs, JDR8895 has many reports of fires. If this is a known problem, why has it not been addressed as a recall? My 9-year old was making soup the day before while I was in the living room. This could of easily happened to her! It is a very dangerous situation to put your consumers in!Whirlpool Corporation contacted the appliance repair company, Columbine Appliances, to inform them that they would only be covering the cost of their visit and not the cost of the parts to be replaced in the range (the ones that caught on fire). Through Columbine Appliance, Whirlpool wanted to inform me that this is not a safety hazard and that it was my fault as I got water in the control knobs. This is not true. If I did, I was not aware and was unable to find any literature about that being a safety hazard or that it could cause a fire. I have found and have forwarded to the CPSC many instances of this exact problem, often when the range was not even in use and are happening to other consumers. I am working on combining the data, contacting the other consumers and have since refused service on the range by Columbine Appliances. Whirlpool only tried to contact me after I left them a message regarding the status of the range and that I had no interest in paying for what I viewed as a defect in their range and a safety hazard. I found a news story of this range going up in flames. Its unbelievable that this company continues to stand behind this product and blame these fires on the consumers actions. I am disabled and have an oxygen machine in my home. I have no desire to have this unit catch on fire again and potentially die, especially since water does, on occasion, end up on cooktops. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

I had problems with the door closure on day 3 of my French Door Refrigerator Model # WRF560SEY. The flap on the left door that seals them fails to fold back if I open the right door first. Which didnt seem like a big deal until I tried to close them and have to remember to close the left door first or itll bang against the right door and Im afraid itll break that piece off then the refrigerator is worthless. The manufacturer drop shipped a new piece, after several attempts of adjusting the closure, and it still does not work. I have written Whirlpool and am told they have a new door on order but it will take 6-8 weeks, that was in March. Now when I contact Whirlpool no one ever returns my calls or emails. I have had the refrigerator only for 15 months and I have fought with either the store or Whirlpool since the third day of owning it. No one cares as long as the appliance is paid for. On May 15, 2017, I purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater, unknowingly made by American Water Heater Co., from Lowes (receipt attached). Model Number ES40R10-55 with a 10 year warranty. The water heater was installed using the directions in the owners manual. Upon turning on the current to the water heater after it was filled with water and all air removed from the plumbing, the module gave a code stating the top element was not working. Called the Technician Assistance Hotline and they gave me a RA number to get a new top element from Lowes. Got that on May 16 and had to call the plumber that is contracted by American Water Heater Co. to come to the house and inspect the heater to make sure it was installed correctly. The water heater worked once the new element was installed. On Oct. 3, 2017, had more issues with the module stating the top element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistance Hotline and they gave me another RA number to get another top element. On Oct. 4, got the top element and installed it. The water heater started working again. On Oct. 6, the module stated the bottom element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistant Hotline and had the plumber come out. He determined that he could not find out why it was doing this and also said that both elements were good along with the element that I removed on Oct. 4, which I still had. Since then, the module has been giving codes stating that both elements are bad and I have not had any hot water since Oct. 7. American Water Heater Co., Whirlpool, and Lowes all refuse to give me a refund for this piece of junk! All blame the other for the problems and none will take any responsibility for the water heater not working. I will never buy another appliance with the Whirlpool name and definitely will not buy anything made by American Water Heater Co. I also will never buy another appliance from Lowes as they are not willing to help me in this matter. If you do not want to experience the headache and frustration of owning a new appliance that does not work, I would suggest that you do the same!!!

I am a Whirlpool Privilege Member - IFB privilege number **. This is Mrs ** here and I possess two Whirlpool Fridges, one single door and one double door (Elite Model). In fact, all my family members have Whirlpool refrigerators because I recommended them and because I have had a very satisfying experience with your service until now.I recently (first week of March) logged a complaint as my fridge was not working (it was working on and off). The Mechanic from the service center visited us and said that the compressor was at fault. I had some doubt about this as the Fridge was working on and off and I requested my friend who had a workshop to come and have a look. He checked and said that the compressor was working perfectly but looked like there was some problem in the supply of current which could be a loose contact or something. So I logged another complaint and when the mechanic came (this time a different one), I was out of the country and my husband was there in the house. He checked the fridge and said the compressor was working and apologized for the earlier mechanic’s wrong diagnosis. He also said that it was difficult that since the wires were inside the beading or the Puff, or whatever, the fridge could not be repaired.I am really astonished and pained by this comment by the mechanic as we spent a lot of money and bought a fridge for its brand worth name. I shudder to think if this complaint had happened two years after I brought it, should I simply throw the fridge because it cant be repaired? Is there anything at all where the company can say it can’t be repaired? Are fridges used and thrown in India? I am all the more worried because I have been recommending Whirlpool Fridges left and right to everyone and I tell them that there could be a situation when Whirlpool would ask you to simply throw your fridge away. I still have belief in Whirlpool and I firmly believe my recommendations would not go wrong, and it is only the fault of the mechanic who could have made this remark unwittingly.

Whirlpool has been my brand for years but I must say that after buying this
Whirlpool has been my brand for years but I must say that after buying this washer #WFW75SHEFWO from Lowes - on sale, which is clearly a lemon, that I will never buy a Whirlpool appliance again. Not because I believe all of their products are subpar, but because the service on these units is unacceptable. The first call for service repair resulted in the Appliance Repair Service company missing the first appointment due to being overbooked, rescheduling and missing the second appointment due to illness, and the third appointment the guy finally arrived nearly five hours late. Supposedly they were a man short. When the technician finally showed up he claimed it was the board and the pump and scheduled a time to return to fix it and then he never showed up... No call whatsoever. Clearly a lack of clear communication and no respect for a customers time. I called Whirlpool to complain. Nathan, a supervisor was attentive. I requested a different company and was refereed to Appliance Doctor in North Hollywood. Rosa, the customer service receptionist at Appliance Doctor, is quite pleasant, professional and clearly wants to correct the numerous missed appointments that keep occurring with her Whirlpool appliance repair company. First repair appointment missed due to illness, next he came and did not really inspect the unit completely, and third appointment rescheduled nearly a week later due to a death in the family. No other repairpersons? I am certain it will be a car breakdown the next appointment. I have no patience for bad management because it is always an extension of bad ethics, which if you believe many of the negative reviews on this site Whirlpool and their various appliance companies appear to frequently miss the opportunity to engage within an honorable sphere. This is a new washer purchased only a few months ago. One technician mentioned it was due to overuse of soap/. The other technician was adamant that it was a sock stuck in a pump. Really? He did not open it up or even check the unit with any thoroughness. Error codes are enough. I was informed it would cost me and that this problem of the unit shutting the door and not completing the wash cycle was not covered by warranty. I informed him that I would call the manufacturer and insist on the unit being fixed. I did so and Whirlpool agreed to cover the repair. My schedule has been adjusted repeatedly to be present for these various service appointments only to have them cancel with a text. Bad business. I called Whirlpool repeatedly and was informed that socks must be put into a wash sack and no rugs with rubber backing. Again, my jaw dropped. What? I had an Amana washer and dryer for over 12 years and they worked great! So sorry I got rid of the Amana washer now. The Whirlpool is a piece of junk... Poor design and the fact that they are okay with such bad service has me calling around to other companies for a new washer and dryer set that will be on par with my Amana set. Whirlpool is clearly keeping these appliance companies in a brisk business with such abysmal technology. I am on the phone with another Whirlpool rep, Tracy, who is very attentive and helpful. The music playing while waiting, sometimes for 30 minutes, is similar to a film score, which helps calm the anger of time being wasted.

I purchased a condo last year with all appliances included. My Whirlpool refrigerator model is GI6SDRXXY00, a fairly new refrigerator. I noticed orange and moldy spots on ices when dispensing them. I changed the filter, thought maybe it is the filter causing the issue. But after inserting the new filter and emptying the entire ice tray, I still get bad ice! I open the compartment, and surprisingly, found out that the spiral rod inside the ice dispenser was rusted! This is horrible and unacceptable! This is not a user fault but a manufacturing defect. The parts that are in direct contact with what customer consumes should be robust and safe. I contacted customer service, and they gave me a technician phone number which turned out to be a third party which only cares about money. They said they will inspect the refrigerator and will charge me $134.00. I will not use this refrigerator anymore and will replace it soon. AND I will never purchase any more Whirlpool products. I purchased a Whirlpool Gold top freezer refrigerator (G2IXEFMWQ03) in May 2011. Six months later, the freezer began to collect frost and eventually clogged the refrigerator port from freezer. Since cold air from the freezer was not going to fridge, I had to turn down the refrigerator temp to lowest setting. I had a service person come out and replace Adaptive Defrost Control under warranty - it would have cost me around $250. Now roughly 12 months after repair, the defrost issue is back. The part cost me $175, and that is if I install it myself. I called and mailed Whirlpool which was a waste of time. This is the last Whirlpool I plan to purchase. This refrigerator (Model #wrf560seymoo, Serial # VS31343718) was new in April 2013. In the last 3 years it has required 3 service repairs. Two under the extended warranty, one recent one 3 months out of warranty. All repairs came up in the last 3 years. The first repair addressed frost build up in the freezer. The second required replacement of the water filter compartment and the third will be addressing water dripping from the freezer door when I open it. Even after turning off the ice maker and removing the frozen puddle from the bottom of the freezer, it still drips water when I open the door. I have a call into service on this right now. I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freez
I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer from my local Badcocks. About two months after the purchase it started making this weird loud sound. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent a local appliance company technician out to check it. The technician ripped my brand new Linoleum floor when pulling out the freezer. The result was, in his opinion, nothing was wrong with it, that the loud sound was normal. As it continued, another tech came out and his opinion was it needed a new compressor. So, it was replaced and lasted about a month. I was getting something out for dinner and noticed everything in my freezer was unthawed... all that money wasted a freezer full of food gone. So, Whirlpool once again sent the same appliance company out but a different technician. This one said it that he needed to order parts which he did, a different tech came out to install the parts and told us he didnt know what they were for and our freezer didnt need the parts the previous tech ordered. So this tech put dye in the lines and left. The dye leaked out from under my freezer all over the floor which is now stained because of the dye that leaked. This is the brand new floor they had already ripped during the first service call. So, now not only is my floor ripped but stained as well.Once again, about a month later, I find my freezer full of meat unthawed a third time. Once again I called and find out they have dropped the contract with the company that came out the first two times. So they refer me to another local appliance repair, and this new tech says that it needs a new compressor. This will be the second new one in less than 6 months. They order that part and repair the freezer; this fix lasted for about three months this time. On my fourth call to Whirlpool, I expressed my frustration with losing my food and the hassle of an inferior product purchased brand new under warranty. I definitely was not satisfied with the service and the customer service representative could not find my warranty record. He was also very rude and when he finally found my record, he told me I was no longer under Whirlpool warranty. This was wrong as I have my paperwork showing date of purchase AND the four-year extended warranty we purchased as well. I asked him what they would do for me since their inferior appliance and incompetent repair technicians cost me hundreds of dollars of ruined meat and other frozen food. He said they would do nothing except have another repair tech come out. Until the freezer is determined to be unrepairable that is all they can do.So I scheduled the tech to come out the fourth time and he found that some untrained tech had put oil in the line and the lines and compressor has to be replaced and flushed. I have already not had a freezer for a week waiting for tech to come out and now the parts are put on back order for another three weeks. The fourth repair tech called Whirlpool from my home, while I was standing there, and told them that it basically is beyond repair because of the price of parts and labor. He told Whirlpool it would be cheaper to replace the freezer but Whirlpool told the tech to replace the lines and compressor and flush everything out. So three weeks later, he comes back out on 10/13/2013 to make the repairs. I bought this freezer in December 2012 for $1200 and have been dealing with issues on and off since Feb. 2013 and now its 11/29/13 and once again my freezer has stopped working. I have lost all my food because Whirlpool sold me a defective appliance and would not make it right. I have asked them to replace it and they wouldnt. My husband and I have just purchased our second house and we were very excited about the remodel coming up in the kitchen. We were going to purchase stainless steel Whirlpool appliances, but after this company has treated me so badly, I will not buy anything with the Whirlpool name for our stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. We probably would have spent about $3500 on appliances, but we will purchase a different brand and give our $3500 to a company that will treat me better as a customer .I used to have trust in this company because it is well known for quality products, but I dont trust them anymore. I will advise any of my loved ones and friends not to purchase any Whirlpool appliance because of the inferior quality and lack of interest in making this situation right. I tried for almost a year and gave them 5 opportunities to do the right thing and now Im done. They dont care about the customer and that is a shame because they have lost a valued customer. As of now I have another tech coming Tuesday b/c my freezer is sitting not running again. Model #EV201NZTQ02.

I purchased a Whirlpool range YGY399LXUQ in 2012 from a great local appliance store, Trail Appliances. In 2013 the control panel stopped working and I contacted Trail. They quickly came out and replaced the control panel. In 2014 the same issue came up, but Trail could and would not do anything so I contacted Whirlpool Directly - they came out and replaced the control panel. In 2015 (same month) the control panel is not working AGAIN and Whirlpool has washed their hands of it. A replacement is over $400 + installation. The stove is barely worth that much. I would have thought that they would stand behind their product, in that this is an obvious continual issue or at the very least the service that they provide. I would not recommend their ranges to anyone because they will not stand behind what they product nor will I ever purchase anything that Whirlpool makes as it is obviously low quality.

On 1/24/12, I replaced a 15 year old water heater that had started to leak
On 1/24/12, I replaced a 15 year old water heater that had started to leak after years of faithful service. The new Whirlpool unit heated water to a tepid level only, and that was obtainable only after running several faucets at a time, full bore. I used the product manual to trouble-shoot and was unable to find the problem, so I called Whirlpool customer service and was told that I would need to have a plumber come and and inspect the plumbing before a technician could be sent to check the water heater. I was not very happy about that, but complied. The next day, a plumber inspected the lines and fittings, tested the pressure and agreed that the problem was likely a faulty water heater. That cost me $95.00. I called Whirlpool again. This time, I was told that I should have had the plumber call Whirlpool while he was still at my home! The customer service representative agreed to authorize a service call, and I was given the phone numbers of three companies to choose from. Apparently, I chose wrong. The plumber seemed experienced and was very friendly. He was at our home for about 40 minutes, made a cursory inspection and said the problem did indeed seem to be with the unit, and he would return to his office to contact Whirlpool and arrange for a replacement unit and he would call back. Tellingly, I realize in retrospect, he did not give me a receipt. After several hours, I called the company and was told Whirlpool had not yet called them, and if I did not hear from them soon, I should call Whirlpool myself. This seemed reasonable to me, and I did so, at which point I realized I had been lied to from the start. The Whirlpool representative said that the service technician stated that he had run an isolation test, obtained hot water from the water heater, advised the homeowner (me) that the problem was in the plumbing, and I possibly had crossed lines. She also told me that the technician had said that he had difficulty making the homeowner understand what he was trying to explain. A complete and utter falsehood. I asked her how an isolation test was carried out, and that I would call the plumber to see what was going on, as this was not what we had been told. I was livid and called the plumbing company back just in case there was some honest mistake. Of course, there wasnt. I would like Whirlpool to be made aware that the company that they contract with is disreputable and has a history of deceitful practices. I found many negative reviews, and in fact the sort of treatment I received seems to be their modus operandi, no receipt, never a call back, assure the customer their problem will be covered under warranty, misrepresent the the service performed. The reason I add this last statement is that at no time was the new water heater disconnected, drained, refilled and allowed to return to operating temperature; the so-called isolation test a process which Whirlpool told me takes about two hours. This test did not take place. I previously stated that the technician was only at our home for forty minutes. There was no test of water temperature. I have since replaced my water heater with another brand--it works fine and there were no plumbing problems! I thought the name Whirlpool meant something. I have owned quite a few Whirlpool appliances over the years, in fact my new washing machine is Whirlpool. But I am definitely disinclined to purchase this brand again. I am so disappointed with the service I received from Whirlpool, a huge waste of time and money, and I am out $95.00 for nothing. I think Whirlpool should reimburse me for this, as the original (honest) plumber was correct. My water heater was defective and should have been replaced at that time. If it had been, you would probably still have a customer.

Whirlpool gas range convection oven - I have only had this range for 2 weeks. Manual is sketchy to say the least. Purchased from LOWES - salesman were not well-informed. I have had to do a chat to find out information. Range looks great but performs poorly. Takes a while to heat anything even on high and on large burners. Grates are too heavy. I am sorry I did not see the editor review before I purchased. I have not used the convection so I cannot speak to this but my choices were limited when I purchased and I did not want a convection oven and other ranges would not purposeful for my use.

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator model number wrx735sdhz and its been a lemon since I bought it. The ice machine totally backs up and the Chute overflows and Im always scooping ice out. Had another technician out today. He saw my frozen sour cream download Frozen pickles and everything else Frozen. Then because I had to have the ice maker replaced in March and it did nothing for the unit he reports back to A Plus Appliance that theres nothing to be done and he says his diagnostic tests come back that it is fine. Im going to post a very negative review about them. Lowes told me that if he would have reported differently they would have given me a voucher and refunded my money. So have another Appliance repairman come in tomorrow.I bought the extended warranty and so far its gotten me nowhere. As many times as Ive had to unclog it and throw away food I could have had technicians out here hundreds of times for this defective refrigerator. Plus on the two service calls I had they said that there has been numerous complaints about this model and the ice maker and freezing over. I have thrown thousands of dollars of food away over the last 2 years. Lowes extended warranty has got me nowhere.

Purchased a Maytag refrigerator in 2009. Was told Whirlpool bought out Maytag, never had a problem with it ever! Speed up to 2012. Purchased another refrigerator this time a whirlpool. HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT! This is the 3rd or 4th time the veggie/fruit drawer POS plastic track has broken. I purchased the extended warranty after a year and in addition to the above, had a new ice maker replaced, and a part in the freezer as the freezer wasnt freezing. So I called them to replace the drawer plastic track again and they say that its a cosmetic problem and they wont cover it. Are you kidding me??? It holds the drawers in for crying out loud! Also told the repairman that the ice gets clogged in the dispenser and either 1) melts all over the place or 2) comes pouring out when you open the doors. He tells me that its best to just use the ice cubes and not the crushed. Again... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Thats why I paid so damn much money for this one as I wanted crushed ice! There should be a recall on this appliance. Repairman says all the models with the icemaker on the left side have problems with freezing and when inquired about my lettuce freezing and getting wilted or brown, he says that the humidity buttons are really only for looks and dont have a purpose!!! Believe you me... I will be sharing this on social media of all types to get this resolved. WHIRLPOOL BIGWIGS LISTEN UP! YOUR PRODUCT STINKS!!! Since we were gone on Friday when the call came in that they called it cosmetic on the drawers you bet Ill be giving these extended warranty people a call too tomorrow! Also dont say we have too much in our drawers because theres barely anything in them at all times. Its just used by 2 retirees!

We have had our Whirlpool for 6 months. It doesn’t always keep things uniformly cool. Oftentimes some items are frozen while others are not. The water dispenser button leaks in a dribble down the front of the fridge after each use. The drawers do not move easily when they contain a moderate amount of food. The freezer works great. All in all it does a decent job but I definitely wouldn’t consider it one of the best.

Our Whirlpool refrigerator was delivered July 27th, 2013 after waiting 6 weeks for it. I was getting something off the top shelf (side by side refrigerator) when a 2-liter plastic bottle fell and put a hole in the bottom shelf where it sticks out under the vegetable tray. Yay, my Cabrio works! Well, this was all 4 months ago and here we go again. My washing machine is doing everything it was before I replaced the brand new parts. Im so mad! I spent $360. In 2008 I bought a Whirlpool range from Lowes. About a year ago I began to notice an electrical smell when I would use the oven. I called the repairman in October and he had to replace wires that had melted. The first time using the oven blew a fuse. Repairman came back replaced everything for free and it has worked fine since October. 2 days ago the fuse blew again. When I flipped the breaker in order to use the cooktop there was an arc flash which blew a hole through the back of the panel on the stove where the cord is hooked to the stove and a hole burned in my wall. After reading Whirlpools fan mail I see that there are severe issues with the quality of Whirlpool products. It is a sad day when the names we have come to trust are more concerned with the bottom dollar than with customer satisfaction with their product.

Buyers beware of Whirlpool ovens! We bought a Whirlpool Built-In Electric Oven in August 2008. Fifteen months later, I decided to clean the oven for the first time and when I turned it on the auto-clean, the entire control panel went dark. The technician said he has seen this problem several times in such ovens and was able to repair the oven. I called Whirlpool and they had not heard of this being a common problem. Last week, the air blower wasnt functioning and had to be replaced. I called Whirlpool again and told them about this second incident in a 4 year old oven that is not used frequently. I told them their quality assurance people and/or engineers need to re-evaluate their products. My lesson learned is that I will never purchase another Whirlpool or Whirlpool related product.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine is less than five years old. First repair was replacement of control panel (under warranty). Second, third and fourth attempts to fix the out-of-balance problem which continually caused the machine to shut down altogether (even a small load) left my repairman totally frustrated after replacing most of the parts, finally telling me it just cant be fixed! What? I paid over $1,000 for this machine in Oct. 2007 and expected it to last many, many years. My mother-in-law has a washing machine she bought used in 1979 and it is still working beautifully. Ive read the 14 pages of complaints on the Consumer Affairs website and agree with Diana in Kissimmee, Fl - I am sick to my stomach not only for Whirlpool not recalling the Cabrio, but for Lowes and Sears and any other supposedly family-friendly business for continuing to sell it! We had purchased Whirlpool Side Kick Refrigerator/Freezer 8 years ago for our new home and had custom cabinetry built to fit around them. Once we moved in we were CONSTANTLY calling for repairs on one or the other. They fix it then the other goes out. They fix it then the other goes out. After 7 years of this we finally said, lets get a new set. We bought the same product because once again the cabinetry is built around these. We were 8 months into having new ones and the refrigerator went out. They came out to repair it. That is a joke in itself because you dont have much to choose from since its under warranty and they dont have anyone in the area to come out. Finally when they come out and fix it now our freezer is out and a repairman is due to come out tomorrow. We WILL NOT buy ANY product of Whirlpool and DO NOT recommend their products!!! I am so unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. The clothes get so tangled and twisted that it stretches my sweaters totally out of shape. There is not enough water on any of the cycles that really clean your clothes. I saved my money so I could get something energy efficient and look great in my new laundry room. I would never recommend this product. Your sheets will not come clean because they ball up in the middle of the washer and come out partly dry. I have had this set for 3 years and now the bearing is gone; it leaks from the bottom and throws grease all over my new floor. I have battled the horrible odor since the second month. It smells so bad that I make sure I dont wash the day I have guest over. I am so disappointed and mad at myself for not reading any reviews before I spent my hard earned money. So here I am now 3 years into my ownership and having to spend more money on a defective product. The sad part is that I really thought I was getting something nice that would last me and my husband for years. There are only two of us in our household. This machine does not work properly; now it is broken, but hey it really looks good.

I ended up scouring the inside with cleanser and a scouring pad for over 30 minutes to get all the baked-on food that the aqua clean system did not get off. Now Im not wanting to use the oven to cook anything that splatters. Secondly, the oven does not cook when using the convection mode. Wife and I bought a WRF990SLAM00 fridge in 5/2013. Seemed like the nicest model Lowes had at the time. The first one delivered had problems: it wouldnt stand level or seal properly, and had to be replaced. Another unit was delivered a few days later. This one - the same model - worked very nicely, for a year and a half. A few days ago, it got loud. My wife noticed in the freezer, some things were beginning to thaw. We called Whirlpool, who said, Oh, its over a year, and youre out of warranty. Sorry! Ok, so they suck. After we had a technician examine the freezer, he suggested, This is something Whirlpool needs to address. It wasnt the first (or fourth) problem with this fridge that hes seen. Called Whirlpool again, this time to gripe. Sorry, youre more than a year, so no warranty BUT, well sell you a service contract for $330! Hows that sound? It sounds like Whirlpool just disqualified themselves from ever getting their hands on another dollar from my family. Theres too many other companies who DONT treat their customers like garbage.

The water dispenser in the left door sometimes works, mostly not. The fridge freezes the food inside, temp. set at 41°F. The entire ice maker has been replaced, several valves have been replaced, a service company rep. tore the back off the fridge, found some insulation misplaced, said he repaired that. We have been very patient. Three repair companies have been sent out by Whirlpool, two said the refrigerator CANNOT BE REPAIRED. Whirlpool told me the only resolution is repair.Whirlpools Customer Experience Center is a joke, they do nothing but try to schedule another repair call. Tell you how sorry they are about your problem but do nothing to solve the problem. Carefully trained to give you the BIG runaround and nothing else. You never get the same person twice or the same city twice. Patients exhausted. Calling my lawyer. I would strongly advise anyone needing a new refrigerator not to buy a Whirlpool product. You should also check the list of other brands they make, there are several. I wouldnt buy them either. Buy a fridge made in Japan by a Japanese company. Ive read a lot of reviews on here for Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer saying horrible things and maybe I lucked out? We got our set at Lowes a couple of years ago and havent had issues. We use Gain HE liquid detergent in the washer and have no problems. We also do the recommended routine cleanings of the machine as the manual says. I pick the settings for what we have, clothing wise, and it washes appropriately and things are clean, no marks or other things people have mentioned. I will click on extra rinse and adjust the soil level if something is particularly yucky. The dryer is great as well as long as you select the proper type of wash you have going on. I tend to do more dry setting and things never come out wrinkled. Sorry for all those who have had bad experiences. Also, others have complained about the noise...our old machine had an agitator and was very loud. Our machines are in a closed room and most of the time we dont hear a thing until the bell rings. Maybe wed hear more if they were in an open area or garage where noise echoes?

We bought our Whirlpool Refrigerator a little over three years ago. Within a few months we started having problems with the unit. From ice maker issues, cooling and freezing. Initially the frig was covered under Whirlpools 1 year warranty. Then our extended 3 year warranty kicked in through HH Gregg which they supplied for free because of their poor handling of the initial sale. We have lost track in how many times a repair man has come out to work on the refrigerator. In the last year alone its been at least 8 times. The most recent problem had been the freezer not defrosting properly to the point where we had to store food in our neighbors freezer. The repairman has tried everything he knows and is stumped. Well our extended warranty has run out but theyll continue to work on the problem as long as we report the issue within 30 days which creates a whole different set of issues. The extended warranty states they will replace the refrigerator if it has the same problem 3 times. However what they dont tell you is that if you call BEFORE 3 time period its considered a recall and that doesnt count towards the 3 strike rule. We contacted Whirlpool and they wont cover the refrigerator because the repair company isnt on their approved list. Really a Sears repairman isnt approved? So buyer beware of a lemon Whirlpool Frig! They seem to have a way of not covering their product.

I was so excited when my husband bought me this as a gift this past year as we are a family of 6 which means lots of laundry. The first few months I assumed it was operator error trying to learn how the new one worked. Well here we are months later googling why it makes my clothes dirtier coming out than they were going. It leaves black linty looking streaks on all my white clothes, both inside and out and leaves white linty looking streaks on my darks, also both inside and outside. It DOES NOT REMOVE PET HAIR AT ALL! If you purchase one, and have long haired pets that shed, expect to invest in some lint remover. Im on my third type in an attempt to save me time. I will say OxiClean laundry detergent seems to be the only detergent that actually cleaned the clothes. Sadly, stores around here stopped selling. And whatever you do, DO NOT USE LAUNDRY PODS. It DOES NOT DISSOLVE THE HOUSING AND LEAVES SLIMY RESIDUE ALL OVER YOUR CLOTHES. I believe this is due to the fact that despite the setting, it uses little no hot water. Which would be great if it actually cleaned your clothes. I could run my clothes under a faucet with no soap and they would cleaner than this pos. Bottom line. Dont waste your money and if you do keep your expectations very low!

I am so disappointed in my whirlpool W10431035A gold series dishwasher. I bought this 2 yrs and 2 months ago on black Friday at a lowes. I wanted to have a whirlpool and I thought they were a good brand. It has been a little over 2 years and my dishwasher no longer works. The start button no longer works. It is not even that old and appliances should at least last 4 years. I could understand if the plastic utensil holder or dishwasher rack breaks...fine, you use plastic. But this is an intricate part of the dishwasher....the start button and it does not work. I am so disappointed in whirlpool. It is the start button...how can this break. The only thing I do is press normal cycle and the start button...that is it. How can this machine break so easily. How can whirlpool build and sell such a faulty product. So disappointed.

We bought all new Whirlpool kitchen appliances in February of 2017. The French Door Refridgerator MRF993FIFM we purchased was a large side by side with a water/ice dispenser and freezer on the bottom. The concept of it is great, as it is very roomy. The problem is with the product quality and usability. We are a family of four with the youngest being twelve. We do not have to worry about rough little hands anymore. That being said there is a crack in the back of the plastic casing of one shelf, a crack in the freezer door, the seal doesnt connect on the dispenser side door, the slide out shelf in the freezer doesnt stay on its rollers and the main ice maker stopped working (which never worked properly either). Also, and this is what bothers me the most, the glass on one of the shelves is sealed down so it cannot be cleaned under. But there is a small slit going all the way around that separates it from the plastic. Food is still seeping underneath and creating mold with no way to clean underneath! This was not an inexpensive refrigerator and we were not prepared to have these kinds of problems after a year. We are very unhappy with the quality of this product.

I purchased this piece of crap excuse for a washing machine, the Whirlpool Cabrio, almost 2 years ago, in September, 2015. Since that time I have had nothing but dissatisfaction about how it washes, and the extremely poor results. I contacted my sales associate early on, I was told, just like others who have purchased this machine, that it was a water-saving machine, and I needed to read the manual closely and just do what it said to do. I did that. Long story short, I am sick and tired of this machine, stopped using it, bought another machine that lets me choose how much water for each and every cycle, it washes extremely well, my clothes come out clean, it HAS AN AGITATOR, DIFFERENT BRAND, and I am very HAPPY with it! I will never ever buy a Whirlpool product again. I am well-known, have an extremely large number of friends, and I will be spreading the word that Whirlpool built a piece of crap. Never mind that piece of crap washing machine was mandated per government regulations to cut down on water, thats a bunch of crap. Users should not have to buy expensive cleaners, tote extra water to a washing machine that uses so little water that it barely covers the clothes, and no person should have to use a product like this. Never. Washed clothes from this machine stink, the odors will not leave my clothes, whites are now yellow, stained, and colors have white spots on them. Whirlpool, you have built this piece of crap, I hope you have large heapings of Karma! What a joke. What a useless company now, sell out and go play on the beach. You deserve the dirt, not your use-to-be-loyal customers.

We purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer due to the companys past reputation and our own past experience with Whirlpool appliances fully expecting to receive great performance and durability. We have had the pair just about 2 years and the washer started experiencing problems during the spin cycle. The unit would get out of balance easily and then it would stop without spinning, leaving the clothes very wet. Well, as our past experience had indicated to us the washer is usually much more reliable than the dryer, or thats the way it had been for us. So we only purchased the extended warranty on the dryer. Not being covered on the washer we located a local technician and he promptly diagnosed the problem as the transmission failed causing the noisy bearing and the failure of the unit to spin properly. Our tech quickly repaired the unit but this failure disappointed me to the point of contacting Whirlpool. Thats where I came upon this site and saw the multitude of complainers with the same type of problems and some that are worse than ours. Our purpose in this review is to add to the 1100 or more reviews that report the same kind of issues. We are now in the same mindset as the 1100. Will we ever buy another Whirlpool? Probably not, especially since it doesnt look like Whirlpool wants to stand with their customers to make it right. Customer support is just as important to us as the reliability we seek. I would much rather spend a bit more in the price than replace or repair the unit after the purchase. A little economics lesson for our friends at Whirlpool is that if you abandon your 1100 customers you will save about $440,000.00, but those 1100 will tell everyone they know of their problems with that product and as a result many thousands will never purchase a Whirlpool. So if we all influence 5 of our friends not to buy, then 1100 X 5 = 5500 people X an average price of $800 which equals about 4.4 million dollars of lost sales. Seems like a no brainer to want to stand behind your customers. We dont believe that any washing machine on the market should fail after a few months to 2 years. These products should be built to last many years and the maker of these products should have that goal.

The agitator is higher than any I have seen and when we washed aprons that have plastic buckles on them, they get stuck under the agitator. When complained their solution was to use laundry bags to wash 15 aprons in, they are long aprons. Paying a lot of money for the machine and it being commercial I didnt think we would not be able to use it. The whole machine shut down when three of the buckles got stuck. The washer is model # CAE2793BQ and I would suggest that no one purchase one of these machines.

In 1994 we built a new home and we used only Whirlpool Appliances. In July 2006 we replaced all the appliances with another Whirlpool products, although they were still working including the microwave. After two years the microwave stop working, replaced it with another Whirlpool microwave and the second one stop working last night (July 2014). I noticed the quality of all their products went down including, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Refrigerator, etc. The dishwasher heating element start to decompose and I replaced it. The washing machine get stuck and the water never stop creating a major flood in the house. The refrigerator door seal torn apart. I decided not to buy any more Whirlpool products.

I purchased this washers predecessor, the WTW6200 in May of 09, along with the matching dryer. The bearings gave out after 36 months of use, and our household comprises two adults in their mid-fifties. Estimated cost of the repair? $650! Why am I posting this here? Because two weeks ago, my daughter-in-law called to say that shed so liked my machine when she visited in 09 - Id had the thing for two weeks at that time - that shed bought the WTW8500B and... the bearings were already giving out. I suggested she get the thing repaired, sell it immediately and replace it with an LG product, which is what Ive done. She has been put on a three-month waiting list for the repair, confirming my feeling that Whirlpool, as a whole, has gone down the tubes. Their service record is dreadful, with an excess of 20K complaints existing at various consumer agencies regarding ALL the Cabrio line, and their warranty, Ive learned, is considered the worst in the industry. All in all, the single worst purchase of my fifty-odd years.

The exterior look of the refrigerator (WRX735SDBM00) is impressive and the stainless steel does not show finger prints easily. It has two french doors on top, a middle drawer, and the freezer drawer on the bottom. The interior is 25 cf, but there isnt much space, even with reconfiguring the shelves, and the crisper/meat drawers are so small, that a large bell pepper wont fit. When one French door is closed it pops open the other door, which then does not close back tightly. Although there is an alarm system to warn a door is open, it only works if the doors are open and not just cracked. We have to constantly push on both doors to be sure they are closed tightly, even after washing down the gasket to get a better seal.

I bought this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio) about 4 years ago. A year or so later, it started leaking; based on reading the troubleshooting guide we found that this was because the feet would continually get out of balance. After painstakingly re-leveling the washer every 6 months or so the washer now consistently leaks - even though its balanced/level! $508 to repair a machine I paid $787 for. No thanks. I agree too with the other reports that it doesnt get clothes clean. I just figured this was a feature those of us got for trying to be energy efficient.

18 months ago my husband and I bought our first Whirlpool washer and dryer to go with our first home. 6 months and the dryer stopped spinning. There was an issue with the belt. 12 months later the washer has stopped draining and spinning. It is 2 months since our first filed complaint with our extended warranty company and we still dont have a washer that works. I dont care if I have to take my laundry to the river and beat it with a rock. I will never buy whirlpool again.

The repairman said the shaft, which of course is one piece with the outer drum, is corroded. Really? Did we not expect water in our washing machine? The repair is $500. After reading all the bazillion complaints on this model (on the internet), I have decided not to repair the piece of junk!

Every one of the knobs cracked where they engage the gas valve. One gas valve came loose from the manifold creating a gas leak discovered by the propane company on a system leak test. Screws came loose that hold the tracks to the base for the slide out bottom drawer. The AquaLift cleaning system is useless. Better buy some oven cleaner and rubber gloves. Very disappointed! One star because 0 isn’t an option.
